I'm not saying during combat, for all you know, it could be on an abandoned ship that's just sitting there.
Also, couldn't they just fix it so there is like, a cone on the front of the torpedo, and the "bubble" comes out like, right behind the very front of the thing?
OOC: Sure, you can. This punctures the bubble, collapses it, and you lose your supercavitation. At this point, the torpedo goes nowhere and does nothing as water rushes in.. But you have a great sensor suite...
Or in other words - no. If you extend past the bubble limits, you collapse the bubble and you lose supercavitation.
