"Did you see his face when he ran? He was confused. He probably thinks we are chaos. That is how the imperium has been set up. Any humans are chaos or imperial. That is what they have been brainwashed with" Paleneus sighed, "There's no doubt he will be telling the other chapters that we are chaos. This will cause problems"
One of the scout seargents was getting restless. "Excuse me sir, but why didn't we just kill him or take him hostage? Then none of this would have happened"
Paleneus looked at him, "The space marines knew he entered these caves. If they didn't hear from him, they would send search parties. They would probably assume we are chaos when they meet us, just like he did, and then the whole plan would be in ruins. The Eldar would be forced with a choice. They would either have to strike then against the enemy, or would have to attack us to keep their cover. I know which they would choose - fighting the enemy. That would ruin the whole plan, both our forces would be crippled or destroyed. That is why we let him go". He wandered over to one of the sides of the caverns, and leant against it, "Now that they think we are chaos, we have great problems. If only he hadn't entered the caves and searched for us. I will need to rethink the plan now". With that he headed back towards the camp, out of sight. The men stood and watched him leave for a moment, the followed him.

Ivano read the transmission handed to him. He looked up at the docking bay Sergeant. "The ships deploy, now." He pulled up a comm link to Brother Lieutenant Gabriel on the adjacent ship. "Brother, we go planetside immediately. Instruct the pilots to land where you feel suits you best. We shall speak again planetside, Emperor willing. Wolfenstein out."

He climbed aboard his Thunderhawk, aware his men had already done so on the numerous other Company Thunderhawks. 950 Space Wolves plus their Company's vehicles would be planetside very soon, and then Chaos would feel the wrath of the Wolves of Fenris.
Ivano tapped the pilot on the shoulder. "Put us down near the Black Angel forces, they will need our help the most. And hurry, we have prey to hunt."

The transports lifted off from the orbiting fleet, like a swarm of bees flooding towards their prey. The pilot, a Flight Lieutenant by the name of Farquah, tried to raise a link to the Black Angel Command Squad on the ground. "Black Angels, this is the Space Wolf transport Emperor's Guidance, we are coming in to land on your position, so keep heads up if you please. Guidance out."

"This is Commander Karit, we have sighted your landing craft and reserved a bay for you. It is marked by red flares, and is currently the only one vacant. Move Swiftly, we must leave this place soon"

The pilots brought the Thunderhawks down on the landing bay, the troops inside spilling out with practised efficiency. Ivano moved forward to greet Commander Karit. "Commander, we must move immediately, the Ultramarines can follow on when they land. I suggest we make for the caves to link up with our brothers first, unless you have any other plans?"

OOC: Stuffing-Your-Face, all that my Wolves have in the caves is their extremely keen senses and a few auspexes, nothing too advanced. As far as I know the Ultramarines don't have much more than this(correct me if I'm wrong), but I'm assuming the Eldar have all sorts of screwed up alien alarm system things, you'll have to ask him. :)

"Then we move immediately." Ivano whistled loudly, and his Sergeants came to him. "Get the column moving, standard Fenrisian formation, we make for the caves." He held one of the men back, a Sergeant Varl. "Draw a link to Iron-Preist Ramenov, tell him we're coming to get him."

OOC: BloodTide2, if you're going to land in the middle of an enemy encampment I suggest you consult the enemy you intend to land on and make sure it's ok with them, because at this stage of the thread most people have plans that might not welcome such things happening. On the other hand, if anyone wants Marines landing among them, feel free.

"Yes, we will take point. We shall begin moving immediately. Watch our backs well, brother." The forward Land Raiders' engines opened up with a combined thunderous roar, propelling the armoured behemoths forward towards the caves, the rest of the Marines following behind. Ivano was on the comms to Ramenov,"Igor, we are planetside and coming to get you. Be ready at the entrance."

"Yes, My Lord." Ramenov turned to the Long Fangs. "Our brothers have returned, we move to the exit now. Keep sharp, we are almost safe."

Karit nodded, and waved to Templar, who nodded in response. The entire Black Angel force loaded up and followed the Space Wolves. The dust cloud from the engines could be seen for many miles. Scout Outriders protected the flanks, whilst the vulnerable Whirlwinds progressed in the middle, protected by Land Raiders. It was a formidable force of Marines, capable of many feats of extreme danger. It would be a good day...

“This is Ghost, ready for launch”

”Roger that Ghost, prepare main thrusters for Phase 1 launch”

Leon “Ghost” Mitchell sat in the cockpit of the Explorer 1. The work of 8 years of work by NASA, the Explorer was the first atmospheric and space aircraft that could return to the atmosphere and produce escape velocity several times during a flight. Leon put his hand on the thruster control. Flipping the safety covers off the controls, he exposed 4 numbered switches.

“Arming thrusters now”

He flipped the switch labeled 1.

“Thruster 1 armed”

At that moment, a hatch over Thruster No.1 flipped back.

Repeating the process until all the engines were exposed and armed, Leon then reported

“All engine armed, arming fuel rods”

Reaching for a second set of controls, Leon pressed the green button labeled “Solar Fusion Rods”

An automatic voice resounded in the cockpit.

“Solar Fusion Rods armed, engines powered. Explorer ready for launch”

The control tower at Cape Canaveral received the same message.

“Ghost, prepare to launch in T-minus 20 seconds”

News crews 5 miles away from the launch pad eagerly received the message. Cameras and Camcorders were set on the distant Launch Pad Five.

Mitchell then looked towards a large handle covered in a plastic caution box. The box read: Thruster Velocity Control”

The Control Tower operator began the countdown.

“20”

Leon held his breath. He moved towards the control.

“19”

Placing his hand on the box, he lifted the safety box off.

“18”

Popping the last latch off, he opened the box.

“17”

Gripping the control tightly, he closed his eyes.

“16”

“15”

“Secondary couplings off!”

“14”

“13’

Leon muttered a silent prayer.

“12”

Around the globe, families sat around their TVs and computers, watching the live feed from Florida, eagerly awaiting NASA’s latest launch.

“T-Minus 10 seconds”

“9”

“8”

“7”

“Ghost?”

Leon was awakened from his reverie.

“Yeah control, go ahead”

“I just wanted to wish you good luck before I release the final couplings”
“Thanks John, you too”

“Primary couplings released, T-Minus 5 seconds”

Those were the longest 5 seconds of his life. As Leon prepared to pull the Thruster Switch, reporters and news crews prepared their cameras.

“3”

“2”

Leon pulled the switch. He felt the whole craft lurch.

“1”

An earsplitting noise filled his ears. Leon thought he was going to die. Instead he looked at his window. He was flying. The launch pad was already a distant dot.

A great cheer went up at the control room.

“This is Ghost, en route to target altitude”

“Excellent work Ghost!”

Leon’s craft was going an estimated 30,000 miles per hour. In several seconds, he would be in high orbit. The skies darkened.

“This is Ghost, I think we just put ourselves in the record books”

“Damn straight”

A cheer filled the tower. One man popped a beer bottle open.

“Sir, I have a huge magnetic reading off the explorer’s bow!”

“What? How strong”

“Off the charts!”

“Ghost you read anything?”

Leon looked at the sensor readout. Exactly 200 miles off his ship, a huge disturbance had manifested. And it was growing.

“Jesus…what in the hell…”

Those were the last words ever heard from Lt. Leon Mitchell.

At least from our ears.

The Ultramarines began to move, the mighty engines of the Land Raiders and Predators propelled the armoured vehicles forward at a slow rate so the infantry could keep up. Bikes and Land Speeders roared ahead, Vindicators followed close behind the infantry and Whirlwinds were last. But as the mighty force drew closer to their target a shadow appeared. The darkness grew larger and soon covered the entire army, slowly poisoning their minds. Something was terribly wrong.

Well, God i'm sorry if I pissed you off by askin a simple question. Back to the RP.

Leon stared around. His head was spinning. It was all just a blue blur. All of it...

He screamed, wishing it would stop. His sensors were balzing in a sea of red light and sound. The ones that werent already blown out anyways. he closed his eyes. He knew he was going to die soon. A muttered the Lord's Prayer. Then it stopped.

He opened his eyes.

In front of the craft was a black, lit object. Leon swore it was longer than 20 miles. It cruised towards him. Upon closer inspection, there was another ship. This one looked like it had been through a beating. Metal jagged out in all directions. The first craft lined up against the second. Instantly a barrage of fire spewed forth from it's side, streaking towards the second vessel. Problem was, Leon was between them.

Here's the brief version - but a bit less brief!
The Eldar are searching for something. They have a cave complex which they are currently sharing with most of the Marines, but there is a trap/plot/conspiracy going on inside. There are some Tau somewhere far away who aren't doing anything. There are some Orks battling some Space Marines. The Nids (MEEE!) have disappeared off everyone's radars and are currently following the Red Terror underneath the caves. That's more or less it atm.

IC: Scout Sergeant Dragos looked at the odd craft before him. The design was like nothing he had seen before, seemingly designed to carry a single occupant. He nodded to his second, who took his fire-team forward. The hatch was already open, and the auspex showed a life-sign... it was human. The atmosphere was consistent with that of Terra... but never had the Battle-Brothers seen such a craft. One advanced slowly, his scout armour making less noise than a power-armoured Marine would have done. He turned the corner, the light attached to his bolter flickering into life as he rested his finger on the trigger. He saw a human, fairly small...but physically he looked fit.

OOC: Hmm, lots of new people. Well welcome everyone, and don't screw this up. The story has gone a little down hill in my opinion recently, but from what Aust has said it sounds like it is about to get more interesting.

I am the Night Stalker player. They are rogue space marines that use basically use the same rules as marines just don't like them. They aren't chaos, which is what marines often mistake them as thanks to all the propaganda pumped into their heads. My Night Stalkers are sitting in the cave complex with the Eldar (allied with them of course), and Paleneus is the master of them. Basically, they were Space Marines, but were betrayed by an inquisitor who really disliked them and their methods of attack. Everyone thinks they are dead, except the space marines on this planet.

IC: A message came from the Eldar. It basically said, "We are launching our plan soon. Just sit back, and don't try to interfere. We have everything under control for now. We will contact you when you are needed"
"Works for me" Paleneus thought, and decided to have a break from all the fighting. That run in with the space wolf commander earlier had left him quite worn out.

IC: Ramenov and the Long Fangs could see the makeshift exit they themselves had forged several days before. Ramenov gave the shout for the men to speed up, and made it to the exit. He peered out across the plain. The dust clouds in the distance showed the Marine column less than 5 minutes away. Good. He just hoped the other Marines in the caves would make it to the exits before the column arrived. Then the rumbling began. The ground shook, causing the Long Fangs to look round with interest and suspicion. These were some of the most experienced, battle-hardened foghters in the Company, yet none had experienced such a phenomenom before. Ramenov had. "Tyranids." he snarled. Always putting a spanner in the works. "Long Fangs, arm up. This could be a long five minutes." He looked backed into the caves, trying to decipher how far away the scum were, and what way they were travelling. He looked back into the caves, waiting for the storm to hit.

OOC: I'm controlling two craftworlds of Eldar. I'll leave it to the ndis to decide whos cave they attacked.

IC: Eldrad watched as the Trynids erupted from underneath the caves, watching as they attacked suprised marines, his underground sensors had detected the foul creatures before and he had prepared the responce for them.

Four Eldar Wraithlords strode into the cave, supported by hundreds of black guardiens. The cave was small, maybe only 6 or 7 meters wide and 8 meters high and the Enldar laid down a writhering hail of fire, hundreds of strunken and plasma bursts heading into the tightly packed mess of 'nids and Marines, hitting both.

They didn't stand a chance, the cave became a killing zone, the collapsed roof keeping the enermy within the trap, a deadly bottleneck.

In the other caves where marine forces where hidden more Eldar fire opened up from behind them, from where the Eldar had dug in to protect themselves. The Eldars fast attack ships where usless here but there D-Cannons and Dark reapers laid havoc. Bolter bullets came back and soon a deadly firefight developed in the caves, a fire fight that the Eldar would surly win, the advantage of numbers, technology and defensive emplacments compensating for there lack of heavy armour and marine Geneology.

In the caves Eldrad slowly made his way to where the Weapon was hidden, in a small chamber right at the back of the main part. There, past the trenches, gun emplacements and thousands of Eldar the weapon sat, slowly bacoming more powerful, as the energy of the Web Way filtered into it. Ancient computers chattered as the Seer Council prepared the great device, though it's size betrayed it's power.

It was small, and looked like a simple strunken pistol, yet it already had the power of a Missile Launcher and it would soon have far, far more power than that. It's enermy beam would go on forever and would dessolve anything that stood in it's way, destroying the things that bind atoms together. To get in it's way was to incite death, even in space it was the ultimate weapon, a single shot could pentrate the most heavly armoured hull.

It would not be long now until, like a pheonix, the fallen rose again.

The Imperium would fall.

As the shurikens cut into the ranks of the Ultramarines they knew this battle would be lost, putnumbered, outgunned and with no defenses they could not possibly win this battle. Yet they fought, fought for Mankind, fought for The Holy God Emperor of Mankind, fought for The Golden Throne of Terra, fought for their lives and the honour of their chapter.
The Terminators turned and fired their assualtguns into the midst of the foul Eldar, the Tactical squads dropped to the ground and poured fire onto the Eldar barricades, hoping their bolters would destroy them.

Moving towards the sound the stealth sits at the front moved into position. Along a long tunnle, a ferocious battle could be scene. Marines, Nids and Eldar fought. But it was not the Marines and Eldar fighting Nids, it was a three-way brawl.

The stealth team Shas'Vre reported to O'Or'es. "The Eldar have broken their alliance with the Marines. We currently view a three way battle of Eldar, Marines and Nids. Requesting orders."

"Stay in your location. If the Eldar have commited treachery, they will not hesitate to turn against us. I will send reinforcements. If you become involved, side with the Marines. The lives of our pathfinders are already as good as lost. If the pathfinders are alive, they will be serving the Eldar uner my command. They will be executed if they find we are now against the Eldar." The situation could only turn ill. The Eldar had broken their alligance with the Marines they were untrustwortrhy. O'Or'es would show them the true way of combat.

The Eldar responce was perfectly timed, when the marines where just a few meters away the front eldar dropped and behind them where Striking scorpians and Howling banshees led by a avitar and two Pheonix lords, the heavy assult troops of the Eldar army.

They fired a single round of strunken, hundreds of strunken flying through the air casing more Marine deaths and charged, quickly supported by the Guardians.

OOC: Is it just me, or is Aust seemingly not losing any troops, and yet he is dictating the other peoples losses? Two can play this game!

The Black Angels were fighting desperatley, trying to hold on just that little bit longer. Hanst was already staggering from any number of wounds, and barely fifty of his one hundred brethern still stood. The havy thud of bolters, missile launchers and plasma weaponry rang throughout the cave. It was a unwinnable fight, but they would stand and fight and die for the Emperor, for Terra, and for the honour of the Chapter. Their black armour was dulled, their markings erased. All that showed them as the Black Angels was their eyes, burning blue in the deep eye sockets of their helmets.

Looking around him, Hanst saw the sight before him. Tyranids, Marines and trecheous Eldar scum fought in a scene that he had heard of only in legends from the older members of the Chapter. He raised his crozius high above his head, rousing the brethern with his words,"BROTHERS, TODAY WE FIGHT FOR THE EMPEROR! TODAY WE DIE FOR THE EMPEREOR! LET THE HATED FOE BE CAUGHT BENEATH OUR RIGHTEOUS FURY, AND LET OUR NAMES RING FOREVER IN THE HALLS OF THE BLACK ANGELS!"

As one, the Black Angels roared their response,"FOR THE EMPEROR!". They dug in deeper, firing with renewed vigour and accuracy. The light armour of the Eldar was no match for bolters, and Guardians fell in their droves. A stray krak missile sailed over their heads and detonated on the armoured carapace of a Wraithlord.

Veteren-Brother Dreadnaught Barbarossa was already smoking in many places, but his assualt cannon continued to chatter, its rounds tearing into the weak Xenos flesh. He had lived through the last Black Crusade, and many such events before that, and he had no intention of going down without a fight...

Ramenov roared with fury. He knew the Eldar were not to be trusted. Vile, treacherous, cowardly alien scum. They would pay eternally for such evil. Five of his twenty precious Long Fangs had already been lost. Five men he had fought with for decades. Such warriors did not die without retribution. The aliens would pay. Iron-Preist Igor Ramenov strode forward, ignoring the blows the Tyranids attempted to rain down on him. He was focused on the Avatar in amongst the hoarde. He drew his axe and his thunder hammer. The servo-arm on his back whirred in anticipation. "Bring your foul hide to me, daemon. Your time has come. Meet your doom." He leapt at the beast, weapons gleaming, and the sacred fire of Russ burning in his eyes.

OOC: To all new players: I am an Inquisitor (Inquisitor Hasselhof) investigating the disturbance, leading a big bunch of Grey Knights, along with his good friend and mercenary Jimmy 'Ace' Peach. Well, not that big a bunch. Anyway, now things are getting interesting again, I'm going to cheat my way back in. If anyone has an objection to this, I'll rewrite it so I come in properly.

IC: Hasselhof was about to give the command to enter the caves to find the source of the huge battle that had erupted inside, when a Scout pulled up, leapt off his bike and, panting, delivered his news;
'Sir, we've discovered another way in. We thought it might be best to inform you, as you are trying to carry out an investigation, rather than an all out war.'
'Excellent work, that man. Where is it?'
'It's a small tunnel that leads inside the back of the cave complex, as far as we can tell. Unfortunately, we, in all our mighty and glorious power armour, can't fit. It'll just be you and Peach. We could go around the front and provide any back up we can.'
'Affirmative. You can expect a promotion, lad. That's some damn good scouting [OOC: See, this is excusing the fact that noone else, even the Eldar, have found the tunnel].' Hasselhof turned to the Captain of the Grey Knights. 'Are you prepared, Captain?'
'Sir, yes sir! All troops, move out! Good luck, sir.

As soon as the Knights had left, Hasselhof sent an open transmission on a frequency that could be received by any warriors of the imperium.
This is Inquisitor Hasselhof. What's going on in there? Who are you fighting? We are proceeding with the investigation, and any information we find will be relayed to you. We hope we can expect the same at your end

The Night Stalkers could hear the fighting going on. Some of the men were worried. The Vindicare Assassin could hear arguments going on between the men. Some of them wanted to go and help.
"They are our allies! Who cares what they said, we should fight for them!" The scout aroused many cheers from this comment.
"And if we do, we will probably jeapordise (sp?) their lives," The assassin had joined in, "They asked us to wait, and we will"
"But sir, what happens if they die? If they are all gone, we are all thats left to fight the Imperium on this planet!"
"Hah! The Eldar dieing? You underestimate them. What you have seen isn't their whole force. This is their craftworld. This is their home! They are sure to have many more troops than you have seen. You can hear them anyway. There is no way a few Eldar could hold up a fight this long. And that rumbling, that is not a tank I can assure you. They have been joined by something else. My guess is the 'nids. We didn't kill the Red Terror, just wounded it. It has probably dug a tunnel for them. Knowing the 'nids, they will attack whoever is attacking them most. The Eldar are probably mostly using them as shields"
The scouts thought about this. It seemed logical to them, but some were still not sure.
"We will be sent for when we are needed, don't worry. The Eldar are intelligent. They know when they need help. For now, just relax, and keep out of sight"

"Oh shit..." Leon muttered under his breath.

The marnines reached the brig of the ship. Opening a cell via an electric panel, they threw him inside and locked it.

When the scouts left. Leon got up and exaimined his surroudings. A dank, dark metal room greeted him. He was in a cellblock. He reached into his flight suit's pocket, and withdrew his sidearm. A baretta M-9. With a silencer.

Row after row of Tau reinforcements moved through the tunnles. Meeting with the explatory force, they moved as one body. A group split off at this point, moving to a location currently in the dark. They were the kroot.

The main force breifly paused. They recieved their orders over the comms, then moved again. Trying to reach cover, they took aim, waiting for the signal. The volley of shots from the Kroot who had swiftly, silently, flanked the Eldar, was the signal. Shadows were just visable behind the Eldar, then all hell broke loose. The shreik of a Kroot shaper, followed by a volley of fire and a charging mass of Kroot. Then, taking aim, blue fire shoot from the Tau weaponary. Tanks, unable to find cover, had hidden along the longer tunnle, and now menouvered, laying down even more withering fire. The Eldar traitors were in a crossfire, Tau fire and Kroot blades, combined into one.

Meanwhile, inside the cave complex, the Grey Knights had moved into position. 'Pack leader Vorius!' hailed the captain of the Knights, as his men began to move up behind the Space Wolves. 'We have arrived, and will try to give as much help as we can. The Emperor is on our side.'

More help was needed. Vorius gave a small sigh of relief as the Holy Warriors fell in alongside his men. The Long Fangs were tired, and low on ammunition. He had already ordered selected target shots only. To his left Veteran Brother Oryn took a starcannon shot to the head, the round ripping half of his face away. The marine beside him, Veteran Brother Trancov gave a yell of fury, and leapt out of the trench, his knife and axe drawn as he tore among the Eldar, his overheated lascannon abandoned. The Grey Knights were pumping fire into the aliens, but their numbers did not seem to diminish. More help was needed.

More help was coming. Ivano bit down in frustration, he could partly see what was happening in the caves, but even at full power the Land Raiders would take time to get there. For now he would have to sit tight, and prepare his men for the fight. The marine column rolled on, bringing an inevitable doom for the Xenos. More help was coming.

He needed no help. In his state of mind Ramenov was untouchable. His weapons clove left and right, severing limbs and crushing bones. Yet always he remained focused on the target, the Avatar of Khaine. The daemon would pay for all the sins of the Eldar, and evil would know its maker. It would know it through the hammer and axe of the Iron-Preist. He needed no help.

"Remember, surprise is our key. Do not let them know you are there. If someone sees you, try and lead them out the way and kill them silently. We are attacking Tau. They aren't designed for fighting silently. They wont know what hit them"
The Night Stalkers gave a cry for battle, and went to their positions.

OOC: The Night Stalker force mainly consists of scouts (they have no normal space marines), some with sniper rifles (the Vindicare Assassin stays with them), the rest with bolters and close combat weapons (Paleneus with them) (my army has true grit, as outlined in the creating your own chapter section of the codex). They have no terminators or any vehicles or walkers (except bikes), but the scouts are armed with explosives to take out enemy vehicles (they get things like this when combining their own weaponry with that of the Eldar). Then there are the bikes, and there are some devastator squads (with infiltrators rule) who run around until they get a free shot at a vehicle and then take it. Thats pretty much it for my force:

Scouts (some with snipers, some with normal weapons; some armed with explosives to plant on vehicles if they get close enough)

Because the only people you would be able to sneak up to would be my Stealth Suits, because the rest of my army is still at base. And as for the Orks, the stealth suits could hover above them, or just stay behind (Orks don't have that good eyesight anywany.
Its not your Tau, its Kaor's. He's the one who joined in the battle. I just have to take him out from behind, which is what my troops are good for. I'll post where they join in soon, but not now.

OOC: Well with my Night Stalkers, I'll make a story along the lines of the imperium finding out they are still alive. They send a very highly trained assassin (trying to fight them wont work as they have the Eldar on their side) to kill Paleneus, and generally cause the demise of them. You can discover the twist when you read the story. I will then join in with your story, allying with the Eldar like always.

If Aust or Snake Eaters make a new one let me know, I'll be in if you want me. Personally I think it should only be the nations that were at the start of this that get into the new one, but again its up to the creator.

I don't mean that in offence to the newer nations in the thread, I just think smaller numbers is less complicated, therefore easier for everyone to co-operate.

That's a good idea of yours Varied Iguanas, but that might be difficult to do with five or six nations.

OOC: Lets keep it compact, me, RL, SE, VI, Shinbreakers, SYF, and Theao. I have and ideafor a storyline, but there's many places we can go... We could 'go back in time' to the time of the great crusade. The Marine players can play a legion, I can do Eldar, Theao orks again ect. The story could be simple.

The Emporers legions have descovered a new civillisation in a system far away. Or this race can descover the Imperials, they make contact ect. it could be the Imperials first contect with Eldar, and at stake, an functioning STC machine...

Hmmmmm, I'd much prefer if we stayed in the current timeframe. I don't like the idea of controlling a legion, far too many men for my liking. However, the STC is a good idea. War across a whole system, as the Imperials try to discover it. Anyone like?

I sincerely hope I am not being presumptuous in attempting to join the new thread. I have been reading the thread since it began, but was not experienced with rps and so decided not to join. I now have participated in several, and I think I may be up for it. I am fine with different time periods, and would like to play Sac'ea Tau if possible. I have the Codex and have been playing Warhammer 40k for a little while now. If you do not want another player, that's OK also, I understand I don't have very much chance of getting in anyway.

Ideas for the upcomming 40K RP?

Well, Lesseee... A nifty artifact bristeling with Chaos energies or some such coveted by several major players is always a nice thing, no?

If the whole "Chaos Artifact" -idea doesn't pan out, perhaps a memory disk believed contain valubale schematics from the Dark age of Technology would be better? How about an important hostage frozen in a cryo-induced slumber?

If you're aiming for a larger operation, perhaps the classical all-out battle for a tacticaly important planet would be the thing? Kinda like the whole Abnett thing if you get my gist.

Perhaps some operation with only a few characters in a small RP at the edge of the whole epic-battle thing would be a good idea?

WAY too many Tau, unless of course we have an imperial crusade against them...

I could do imperial guard and a member of the High Council, so could the rest of the Imperial players, that way you could have the other races choosing there allies and two main blocks. Maybe the Tau have stolen an STC construct or somthing.

OOC: I'll be the second Marine army, take Ivano's company on another little crusade. Alternativly we could do single character or small warband RPing, set in Necromunda or somewhere. Deathwatch Kill Teams are small, compact Deathwatch Space Marine units. Attached to the Ordo Xenos I think. Hideously dangerous on the battlefield, but serisouly limited in numbers
Varied Iguanas
27-04-2005, 17:56
(I can post occasionally, like today for example)

A kill team out of my army would be interesting, as my army is basically a slightly enlarged kill team anyway (when they were betrayed, the chapter was almost all wiped out already, so they always fight with relatively small forces). The problem with doing kill teams is that my army is designed to be like that. I would struggle to keep with what my army is like generally, while making a kill team out of them. I may try and god mode a bit with them without realising for example. The reason why I liked this one is that it was large armies, and that my troops were perfect at taking out important figures in the large armies and then hiding again. Well, whatever you choose, I will still join in.

There's why my idea comes in. For you VI for example, you could use a solitary character, maybe a lone sniper or rogue merc.
Everybody would control maximum of 5 characters. We could decide for it to be multi-racial objective hunting, or all human bands scrapping over something or other.

I've done Killteam before, not sure whether it would be suited to a multiplayer RP though. If we do do the warband idea I suggest a maximum of 6-8 participants, to make it easier to remember everybody's character's roles and personalities.

If you want I will start it, but I need to know what type we're gonna make it.

I'd take the first and only, but that's been done and anyway, I prefer creating my own battlezone.

Heres a plot idea, this world has been a huge battlesite, it is forge world which has recently been tken over by one of our forces, (Non-Human) and there are a few trapped survivors of the Imperial companys/incrisictors/eldar/ect, left, they face one choice, to try and get back to there lines, and at the same time to find the rest of there allies and avoid being destroyed.

So you could have one player as the hugly powerful force, like Choas for example, despritly trying to stap out these small pockets of resistance.

Crisis Shas'o T'au Kais Shau (WarpReaver, and a Pulse Cannon)
Retinue of 6 Chosen FireWarriors (Pulse Pistols and Honour Blades).

Little bit of a story for em. Eldrad (not in this game, this according to my fluff (and the fluff in the codeces and rulebooks)) has long admired the Tau, and truly beleives in them. So, to advance their development he gave Kais Shau a soulstone. Kais Shau recognized that the stone was special, and decided to embed it in a bonding knife, therefore when he performed the bonding ritual, the stone captured the essence of all the other warriors, and when he was at last cut, the stone flew from the handle and sunk into his chest, tieing him to the warriors. So now when anyone dies, the others a strengthened. (And they have experimental weaponry, gifted to them by the Earth Caste.)

And Caladonn (sorry if i spell your name wrong) I know this is just an Rp, but could you at least try to follow the rules and storyline presented to you in the codex? (BTW Commander Farsight is still alive).

Sorry to post again, but: Honour Blades. Accoring to the Codex, they have to be wielded two-handed. Therefore, your men don't conform to the rules. If you are going to criticise someone for extraplolating a storyline even further than it says, try and stick to the correct rules yourself

They are not really Honour Blades, they are sorta half of one with a larger blade. I just said honour blades because that is the closest thin to them in the codex (and no i am not using honour blades for the real models, i am using fantasy Dwarf swords). And whoever said that it says in the codex that O'shovah may be dead is right, but i got it off of the GW forums site from one of the mods that he is still alive.
