Eldrad walked through the rune encrusted corrodors of his craftworld as it spun through it's lazy orbit around the planet Cathrian. Here, at the far reaches of the galaxy he and his kin had agreed to meet.

The Strunkan felt heavy in his grip and he watched as a dozen Rengers where ferry aboard from below, hundreds of the outcasts where arriving, and soon the entire power of two craftworlds would be gathered.

More would come, but for now, only two had arrived and he hoped that two would be enough to do what they had to do.

below them was a barren arid world of Witchin 973, it was on the forfronts of imperial space and had been discovered by Lord Solar Marchanus many years ago, but for all those years it had hidden a secret, a great Eldar weapon from the Dark years lay there, and soon it would recovered.

For the time was coming when the Eldar would rise again.

He looked at the sky as hundreds of ships from the other craftworld began to arrive. And then to his south he saw another, darker shape. He looked towadrs it, and with the help of devices that madnified his vision he saw they where ships, Imperial ships, and many of them, he cursed. Hopfully the Imperials would not notice them adn pass them by.

A small hope.

Asdrubael watched the video clips with amusement, eyeing them slowly, taking careful note of the Eldar massing in that sector. He of course had no idea of why they would attack such a barren and inhostpitable world, and he very much doubted that it was a former maiden world. His arms flexed on the supports on his throne, his mind was deep in though. The Imperials would undoubtedly make use of their deluded belief that the galaxy was their's by de facto, using their silly Inquisitors to spread this belief throughout Imperial space. Asdrubael would ponder on this, but now he had more important things to do.

He quickly brought down his huge staff onto the head of the courier slave on the floor. The floor was scattered with brain matter, the slave's head exploding into a shower of blood, which the creeping things in the dark were eager to devour. Asdrubael gorged on the slave's soul, eating through it's very force and lifeblood. The shatter husk that was the slave's body quickly disintergrated into nothingness, sending intestines and guts splattering throughout the room.

Fetch me another plaything, this one seems to have broken...

The darkest corners of the Eldar Black Library talk of the War in Heaven and the destruction of the Old Ones.

For those few scholars who have gazed upon these books, they have known the horrors of those times. The War in Heaven, the Ctan, the Necrons. All of these terrifying stories have caused many to go mad with fear and dread.

However, there is another part of the books.

A part which talks about the ones who finally destroyed the Old Ones. About the creatures that caused the Necrontyr and the Ctan to retreat to their status-tombs.

They were known as the Enslavers to the young races. They sprung from the deepest depths of the Hell that is the Warp. The Enslavers ravaged the galaxy, only to be defeated by the last reminents of the Young Races. The Eldar had fought them, as had many other psychicly-gifted races.

They had fought them and lured them back to their own realm.

A realm deeper than the warp...Older than the Warp...older than any Universe...

For the Enslavers had been trapped, the Eldars' created a Veil. One which would trap the Enslavers forever.

But, as time has passed and the Eldar fade, the Veil grows weaker.

And the Enslavers have evolved.

Soon, so soon, the Enslavers would break free. For they have appeared on hundreds of worlds. Secretly, silently. They can now dominate not only the Young Races, but machines. The Necrontyr are no-longer safe. The Young Races will soon fight again.

For the Enslavers, the Ing, will soon come again...

OOC: I'm a big W40k fan. I especially love the backstories. I'm also a fan of the Ing from MP2. I decided to take the basic, shallow template provided by MP2 and turn the Ing into something more. I've thought about how to encorporate the Ing into the W40k universe, while still allowing them to be unique. I've come up with a lot involving the universe, so don't worry...this will be a fun thread.

Eldrad moved to his seat at the crasftworlds center, he felt the warp ripple as ships passed through it, and he then looked to the dark presence that had clouded his vision for many days, as it had clouded the vision of the navagators of the Imperial Realm, They return, the old ones enermy, and we must prepare to face them Soon, he knew they would come soon and if he didn't retreave the weapon by then...then the universe would fall.

Deep Space, Somewhere near Cathrian...

The small, black ship idled around in space. It was undoubtedly Dark Eldar, the sleek design and blood that embossed the outside of the ship labeled it as Dark Eldar. The ship continued along it's journey, the radar equipment on it barraged out seeking signals, hoping to find something, or someone....

OOC: Yay, Tau puppet time.

IC:

A single craft floated gently through the dark void of space. Its practical shape and beige colour scheme instantly identified it as a Tau ship. A small scouting Manta missile destroyer, hardly a threat, but its sensor array had been upgraded, and it had been fitted with a warp-dive generator. Small, fast, manouevrable, and fitted with deadly droid-guided missiles. The perfect fire-and-run scout ship.

Inquisitor Hasselhof,
There appears to be some sort of disturbance around the planet Cathrian. For reasons we do not yet comprehend, we have received signals of a large number of ships gathering around the planet. Investigate and report back.

As usual, concise, to the point, and giving almost no useful information. It looked like von Hasselhof would have to rely on his wits this time around. He entered the coordinates into the ship's computer and went to warn his retinue.

He was truly worthy of the position of within the Chapter he occupied, for he had served the Emperor for nearly 350 years by now. Recruited at the age of ten, he was now one of the oldest and most respected warriors within the Chapter.

"My brethern, a number of strange activities have been recorded around the world of Cathrian, in the far spiral arms. We have been asked to go and investigate further, and so we shall. It is what the Emperor wishes us to do!"
He paused, and then addressed a nearby Astropath,"Can you contact Inquisitor Hasselhof?"
"I can, Brother Captain"
"Make it so. Inform him of our intentions."
As the Astropath turned away, Templar turned to his peers,"Brothers, prepare your squads! We may get the fight that we so deserve. For years we have waited, and now we will revela ourselves to the galaxy once more. FOR THE EMPEROR!"

"FOR THE EMPEROR!"

Ivano Wolfenstein surveyed his troops from the ship's viewing deck. Before him stood around 100 of his Space Wolves. This 16th Company was his, by declaration of Chapter Master Grimnar himself. They were to move upon intelligence reports of Xenos in a nearby galaxy, Eldar, Tau, and...... murmurings........... of Chaos. Such evils could not be risked, and so all his troops were being summoned. Before him lay the initial force, the search and destroy preliminary reconassaince detachment. Mainly Grey Hunters and Wolf Scouts, usually mounted in Rhinos and Razorbacks. Among the marines strode Venerable Drednought Archaelus, the Company's most ancient brother, and Iron-Preist Ramanov, surveying troop formations and weaponary. To the rear of the dock were the Company's heavy support capabilities: Land Raider Cassius, Predator Annihilators Curso and Framenov, 3 Leman Russ Exterminators and 2 Long Fang Packs. To the left were the assualt troops. 1 squad of 10 Assualt Marines accompanyed by 2 Land Speeders and 1 Land Speeder Tornado, and a five-man bike pack. His personal Wolf Guard were in the room behind him, discussing treaties with yet unconfirmed allies. As he felt the ship's engines flare up Ivano grinned. Only fools would stand defiantly before the blades of his axes, and fools died.

Eldrad survayed the craftwaord from his tower, hundreds of small, shuttle craft ferried his worriors to the ground. It would not be long now.

On the other side of the void he could sence, and see, more ships arriving, some more allies had arrived but with them had come other enermys, Imperial forces, Tau, Kroot and others.

They had come to try to stop his duty, and he could not let them do so. His men had reached the weapon and even now where deactivating the ancent sheilds of protection around it. But it would take days to do that, and he had not that much time.

Turning to his crew he ordered them to rpepare for battle, and to evacuate the craftworld of all but the few who where needed to man it. Saim-hann was an ancent craftworld and it would endure. It would take time to activate the weapon to push back to Ing, and he knew that he woul not be able to hold out against the grwoing enermy forces alone.

He climbed into another shuttle with the rest of the seer council and was transmitted onto the planets arid surface, he could fell the radiation from the Eldar weapons trying to get through his amour even at this range.

Two great War Walkers and a Wraithlord guarded the drop zone, accomnyed by other forces. Eldrad made his way to the weapons boundry and watched as hundreds of Guardians began to dig in. This part of the planet was jungle and he knew that would favor his troops.

A collum of jetbikes swooped overhead accomnying a folcon. The might of two craftworld where gether, and more would come... but if that would be enough once the Imperials found out what was happening he didn't know.

He smiled at looked at the readings of enermy ships, seeing that a Tau farce ws coming to close to the planet he ordered the craftworld to fire upon the ships, so as to destroy the small, closer scout ships, but not to hurt the capital ships.

The craftworld did so and Eldrad sent a message, an open message to all those who tried to stop him.

This weapon would be among the deadliest in this kind of terrain, and it felt good to be on active service. Most of the squad carried bolt pistols and chainswords, but Brother Sharia, who was a few metres behind, carried the heavy bolter, designed to allow suppresive fire.
Suddenly, the lead Scout paused. He had heard something. A whining sound, coming their way,"Eldar Jetbikes!" he called to the rest of the squad, and they got down. The Saim-Hann passed overhead, missing the patrol. Dalius got up, and opened a commlink, whilst checking his auspex, noticing that Eldar reinforcements were following behind the jetbikes,"Brother-Captain Templar"

"Yes? What is it Brother-Sergeant?"

"OK, we will use Thunderhawks to ferry the first detachment to a new location. Coordinates are...."

"Roger that Brother-Captain. Moving to drop zone now"

A human body tritched and another one nearby heaved itself onto oneside reaching for it's pistol, Isini kicked the weapon away from the prone figure and looked at the mans face, it was one of the humans younger one's, scouts, that what he thought they called them.

He looked at the body for a moment and then turned away, calling aid to the man. Now they would have a prisinor. He unloaded a blade into the other enermy who was still alives head and watched as the twitiching stopped.

Once the younger one had recived enough treatment to survive a Jet Bike ride, Isini pulled the wreached man onto his getbike and kicked off, soaring away into the sky, leaving the human lying there, berfit of weapons and armour of course.

With them he left a simple message scrawled into the sand. Fear us, Humans, fear and leave.

A message was sent to the humans telling them to leave the planet, a message that Eldrad knew would be ignored. This is an Eldar place. Leave now, or be destroyed.

He tooked the scout to a docked shuttle and once the Scout had had his wounds cleaned he fired a querstion at him. "What is your name and what are you doing here?"

OOC: it's not a god-mod, its a balenced post, in your favour. I'm allowed to destroy a few jetbikes in exchange for the loss of my enture squad

IC: The Scout looked at his captor,"Get fucked, Xenos!" he spat. Despite his lack of weapons and armour, he was still one of the Emperor's chosen, and they would never reveal secrets. He knew that this Xenos had only kept him alive in hope of convincing the Black Angels to leave. No-such luck

Captain, having detected your drop-pod moving across the surface of the planet, I attempted to rendezvous with your troops. I was unfortunately too late, and was unable to give aid to your troops under attack from the xenos assailants. However, I saw one of your men taken prisoner. Repeat: one of your men has been taken prisoner. My warband and I are now in pursuit of the enemy. Please send back-up; I fear my small retinue will not be enough to recover the missing marine.

Hasselhof checked his bolt pistol one last time, and climbed onto the transport. Hired gun, Jimmy ‘Ace’ Peach, was sitting in the pilot’s seat, polishing his autopistol.
“Ace? Put that away and start her up. Follow those xenos, but try not to be seen.”
“I know,” Ace replied with a grin, “Aliens aren’t your speciality, are they, boss?”
“Just shut up and drive. We come across any Chaos, I’ll deal with ‘em no problem. Xenos just doesn’t happen to be my field of expertise”

The landspeeder sped away over the planet’s barren surface, not far behind the Eldar rearguard…

OOC: Sorry if I’ve used the wrong type of transport. I have no idea what an Inquisitor would use for transport on an alien planet

On the farside of the planet opposite the Eldar and Space Marines the Emporer-Class Spaceship Centurion ,escorted by the light cruisers Imperator and Legios and 3 squardrons of cobra-calss escorts, slwoly began to orbit the barren planet. On the bridge, Admiral Plath stared out the viewing area to the planet down below. A man came up behind him.
"Sir we are now in range of the planet"
"Very well commence the orbital bombardment"

The bridge shook as massive lance fire erupted from the ship. If there were Orks down there as the report stated then that should at least soften them up before sending in the troops. Plath watched the gagantuan beams of light hit the planet. A small smile crept into his face

Down far below the Dantian 12th regiment prepared to board their assault ships. Colonel Goth addressed his men.

"Reports have come in that Orks have invaded that planet down there and our job is too stop 'em and reclaim the planet for the Emporer. So thats what we're going to do. We don't allow those Ork scum to live on our planet and were sure as hell not going to allow them to live on this one neither."

Shouts rung all around the huge loading bay as men and vehicles were loaded into transport carriers. Soon they would be going into battle. Soon they would show the Orks why they shouldn't invade a planet in the Imperium

OOC: Aust, i never actually sent anyone out on dropships either, if you read my first post you will see i was merely preparing a small recon force, which never actually left the ship. However tp keep this thread moving, i will now muster something for their transport, which you can build on.

IC: "My Lord, Marines on the surface have taken casualties, losses estimated at..... total. Good Russ! Those eldar must pay my Lord!"
"Calm Sergeant. Bring the ships down, don't open the doors until i give the order. Grav out the Wolf Scouts first"
"Yes my Lord."

The huge battle-cruiser orbiting the planet spat forth the three Thunderhawks, which headed for a remote forested area. The cloaking devices meant no-one would see the ships come in, for now. Approximately sixty feet above the ground the lead Thunderhawk released the Wolf Scouts, two packs of five scouts, with one support special weapons squad.

Wolf Scout Leader Kyo watched trees waver and birds fly as the invisible ships came to a rest. Now it was his turn. With two sharp, silent hand gestures he signalled to his men to spread out and move forward, knowing the other pack would do the same. His men slinked into the trees, and within seconds were practically invisible to all but the keenest eyes.

Fifty metres back, perched in a series of trees was the sniper support squad. Trooper Brimen gazed through the binoculars and whispered into the comm-link. "Pack leader, enemy movement 3 clicks east by north-east, type.... unconfirmed."

"Confirmed. On our way."

The first Thunderhawk touched down on the surface of the planet. As it opened, two squads of normal Marines spread out into a standard pattern. All were wearing helmets, and their black armour helped them blend into the night. From the belly of the dropship, a Rhino transport rumbled, it's ancient tracks making little noise on the forest floor. V.Sgt Barus gave orders to the two units under his command, deploying them to cover the clearing. As the Marines spread out, he entered the softly glowing belly of the Rhino, and attempted to contact the Space Wolves, who he knew where on planet,"Honoured Space Wolf brethern, this is Veteran Sergeant Barus of the Black Angels. Please respond to this communication with all haste"

Personally, I don't want to win this war. I just want to have fun.

IC:

Death, destruction.
It fueled their power.

The Battles had been raging on for too long. For too long they fought, for too long they quarreled among themselves.

The Eldar had their chance to stop them. They had time.

That time had passed.

The Veil began to break. Any low-life Psychic could feel it tremble and shake. Most didn't know the barrier was there, for it had always been in the backs of their minds...it had always been a wall at the edge of Chaos.

Only the Farseers had known of its weakening. Of its destruction.

But now, the Enslavers were released. Now, the Ing were coming.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Deep within the Dark Realm, gazing upon the ever-more clear-looking clouds of the Warp, the Hive Akadzas' Emperor addressed the Horde in front of him. The Emperor stood on a small platform of violet ground, caked with mud and the Emperor's shifting legs. Around this small circle of ground, it looked as though the entire world was covered in an ever-shifting sea of black.

This darkness was no ocean.

For out of the blackness came orbs of light. Eyes. Yellow with red with amber, all glowing and shifting around uncontrollably. All fixed upon the emperor.

There were millions of eyes.

The air around the Emperor was not clear, but filled with thousands of shimmering black clouds. Each cloud held within its heart a red pulsating whisp with black tendrels of smoke covering it like a rib-cage. Occasionally the smoke would solidify, forming terrifying creatures with a four-tendrelled black exoskeleton with a beating red core. These were the Ing Hunters. The Proud Ones of the Emperor. Strongest, fastest, most deadly of the Ing Hordes.

That was, until today.

Above the Emperor, the Veil was shattering. The Warp was becoming clearer by the second. Soon the Emperor would be able to gaze upon the Material world, and upon their long-saught after conquest. The Emperor's Eye, towering above the mass of shifting blackness, opened and began to bellow-forth words. This tounge had not fallen on the Material universes in over 6 Billion years.

"Horde of Akadzas, listen to your Lord," the Emperor said, the language sounding harsh and sharp, like being stabbed in the side by a knife over, and over again. "Our time for Ascendency is at hand! We are the Second Evolution of the Ing! The First Evolution nearly consumed the Universe, but we were beaten back by the Young Races! Already, Billions of Hives across Billions of Universes are ready to strike. And We shall follow suit! But, We will not simply charge into combat with our second forms. Your Lord has created a new Ing. A Better Ing. An Ing that will lead you in battle on the Material Universe. An Ing who is not bound by the harmful effects of the Light Worlds."

With that, it seemed as though there was a ripple in the sea. Thousands and thousands of black figures swarmed out of the way of the new Ing which was approaching. It looked...human. Almost human. It was covered with sharp barbs and tendrells. Its arms, long and tripple jointed, housed a variety of Dark Matter and Dark Energy projectors. These creatures were statuesque, standing over the rest of the Ing like Gods among their mortal flock.

"These Ing will be our new begining." the Emperor said, "They can jump from host to host, they can exist in the Material Universe as they are, and they can lead you in battle. Remember, Horde, we must not fail this time. The Young Races must pay. The Universe must pay! They warped us with their thoughts, now we shall warp them with our bodies.

It shattered. The Veil shattered. It had held for billions of years. It had protected the Material Universes against the Horde. But now, it was gone. The Warp stood before the Ing Horde of Akadzas. The Material World beyond it. They could see a great battle ensuing. The scraps of which would prove to be a fine army.

"Infest the dead, young Ing." the Emperor said, its tenticles raising themselves above the Horde, "Hunters: seek out their leaders and take them. I do not care if they are dead or alive; infest them and make them our own. Our new Ing, our Alpha Ing, shall fight! Onwards! Onwards to our Destiny!!!"

The Horde rose, with 50 of the Alpha Ing in the lead.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Above the battlefield, a chilling sight occured. The sky was covered with a dark, black and purple cloud. So dark and dense noone could see through it. From this, about 50 creatures stepped through onto the battle field. Their bodies dark and terrifying. Their Ing Eyes gazing about the battlefield.

The Alpha Ings decided to wait and see what the young ones thought. Let them revel in their terror before their slaughter.

Behind them the Horde was ready. Ready for the invasion.

The War was just about to begin.

EDIT: People or ships are good.

IC:

The Alpha Ing saw the hap-hazzard attack rushing towards them. The compact creatures were not one of the Young Races who enslaved them. They must be from a more recent age.

Whoever they were, they were the Ing's first victims.

The Alpha Ing raised their arms and engaged their Shadow devices. A barrage of Dark Matter globs and bursts of Dark Energy rippled across the field. If the Dark Matter touched an Ork, it would burn through their armor and through to their bones in a matter of seconds, gloming on like a bile of burning sap. If the Dark Energy bolts struck home, it would be the same as being hit with a Plasma weapon: only these weapons were firing much faster.

To onlookers, the Alpha Ing would have disapeared. Their Shadow Devices would make them move so fast they would disapear from the visual spectrem. Of course, the Alpha Ing had to re-appear once they disactivated their devices, and they could not fire while moving. This mattered little, for it appeared as though the Ing had fired upon the crowd, then vanished; only to appear behind the soldiers and fire again.

The Horde was poised, ready to consume the dead.

OOC: Now, I'm going to need you to calculate casualties and tell me what types of weapons the dead soldiers have.

My lord, enermy forces have landed on the planet Elrad turned and looked at the aide who had spoken.More marines?

Indeed, sire. Marines and other creatures, Orcs and more imperial forces have arrives.

The fools, they did not heed my warning, they are dead now! Eldrad turned and stalked towards the shuttleport, feeling the very walls of the univers twist in his head.

They had got through, the Ing had, and now they would head for his forces, if they did not encounter the marines along the way.

reports had come in about Space marines langing a few miles away, a danger certainly, but one that he would not worry about yet. He had defences set up now, and though he had sent a few rangers to investigate he was sure his defences could hold out.

They had too.

The end was in sight now, he knew that adn the end would be painful and bloody if he wasn't carful. He knew that the marines would head to try to free there blood who he had captured, but he was prepared for that and was preparing a defences force to try to stop the marines, he hoped that he had caculated where they would go right and he had made guardians booby-trap the jungle where the marines would hopfully come through.

He just had to wait.

But another message came through, a perimeter recon squad of two jetbikes had spotted a landspeeder heading towards his forces. The 'peeder was following where the Eldar jetbikes that had destroyed the sout squads path.

Quickly he organised forces to combat this threat, most of his heavyer troops, the folcons and wraithlords where eather at the landing port or still on board the craftworld, knowing he had to move quickly he ordered the forces that where nearest to the threat, the group of Jetbikes and 4 Guardian squads to combat the threat and then ordered a folcan and another Jet Bike group to come to there aide. Admiral Plath strood paced around his bridge aboard Centurion. No news hadyetbeen recived from Colonel Goth down on the planet. Meanwhile an junior officer rushed onto the bridge.

"Admiral there's been a hellava lot of reports coming in. "Eldar AND Space Marines? Something big is happening here. Quickly open communication channels to the Space Marine fleet. We must find out why they are here. The Orks are not in sufficiant numbers to need to call for two Space Marine chapters to send troops"

Upon the viewing screen the picture of a large battle-hardened Space Marine appeared. The Marine was arrayed in his full power armour.

Three Orca drop-ships plummetted through the upper atmosphere of the planet, plasma trails curling off their wing-tips. Alongside them, two Barracuda fighters peeled off to cover the landing zone, and a single Tiger Shark unleashed its bays of drones, fourteen of the hovering circular disks dropping through the air to scout around the landing zone itself.

Just moments later, the three Orcas landed in perfect formation, and the Tau began to dismount and apread out. They had made planetfall. Now came the time to contact the neutral groups, and ascertain what exactly was going on. Two squads of XV-15 infiltrators took up point position, moving quickly and quietly through the forest, burst cannon ready to shred anything stupid enough to try and ambush them. On the flanks, Kroot mercenaries moved equally silently, conversing with the strange clicking language of their species.

The centre was held by O'Var himself, wearing standard armour as opposed to his usual battlesuit. Alongside him walked Aun'O I'Shi, the youngest Ethereal serving the Tau Empire. O'Shi swung his honour blade gently, testing its edge against a dead tree stump, before setting off forwards, heading deep into the forest. At a gesture from O'Var, the Orcas and their escorts took off, heading back into the atmosphere. IC:

O'Var swept his view across the Gue'La camp one more time. Alongside himstood Aun'O I'Shi and four Fire Warriors. The remaining twenty warriors had taken cover along the edge of the forest. The Kroot had crept around one side of the camp, and the XV-15s' burst cannon tracked the Marines in the camp itself.

He cleared his mind, and stepped into the clearing, O'Shi alongside him. His pulse pistol sat in holster, and O'Shi had left his honour blade in the hands of a Shas'Vre in the forest. The escorting Fire warriors held pulse carbines across their chests, not pointing them at anything in particular. If the Marines tried anything now, O'Var was sure he would die, but so would every last Marine as well, so that didn't reall bother him too much. 'For the Greater Good' he said softly to the tau around him, as they padded softly towards the Gue'La commander.

"Brother-Sergeant! Tau forces, on our position!"

"Hold your fire. I believe they are here in peace, but to open fire now would be suicide. They have us covered from all angles"

Veteran Segeant Barus did not move. He knew the Tau were coming up, and he intended to work with them if at all possible. As the Shas'O came into view, he turned," Greetings to you Shas'O. Call off your troops, and then we can talk"

O'Var looked at the Sergeant almost quizzically, before glancing across at the Aun'O. O'Shi nodded slightly, and O'Var spoke softly into his comm-link. Tau forces stepped out into the open area surrounding the Marine camp. The Kroot warriors flooded out of the forest, leaning on their bladed riflesw, watching the situation intently. Even the XV-15s powered down their suits and burst cannon before stepping into the open.

Aun'O I'Shi stepped forward slightly and nodded in the direction of the Veteran Sergeant. "Sergeant, I am Aun'O I'Shi" he said, in a voice as smooth as glass and calm as water. "I am sorry that we must creep upon you in this manner, but we had to be certain of your stance towards us before we made more friendly gestures. Can I ask you why it is that this one world seems so vitally important to the Imperium that you risk open war with the Eldar for it?"

I am Veteran Sergeant Barus, of the Black Angels. Do not worry about the intrusion at this late hour, we have been expecting you for some time. We are not as xenocidal as some other Chapters. Allow me to assure you, that if the Dark Angels were here, you would be dead by now.
As for the reason for our prescense here? We were merly investigating strange energy fluctuations, and deployed a Scout squad to do so. We did intend to leave once we were complete, but the Eldar made an unprovoked attack upon our forces, and as such a state of Cold War now exists. I am informed that Brother-Captain Templar is currently negotiating the release of one of our men, who was captured by the Eldar."

His crozuius was in his hands, a plasma pistol holstered.
As Yuri finished, Hanst leant over to him and said,"Do you believe this to be fool-hardy? Helping Xenos Tau against the green plague?"

"Doesn't matter what I believe, we are here to do our duty. Right now, our duty is to hold these Ork scum up"

Esteemed Sir,
As you have probably been informed, the disturbance on Cathrian appears to be of a far greater magnitude than at first suspected. The source of the disturbance remains unknown, but I believe the investigation will go far more smoothly with a legion of Grey Knights to aid me. There are many races of Xenos represented here, and though tentative alliances have been made with some, there are still considerable threats. Please find my coordinates enclosed. I believe that no gathering of this many races at one spot could be for any reason other than one that may threaten the Imperium. Whatever it may be, it is imperative that I have enough back-up to discover it and, if necessary, neutralise any threat.

The 9th Ultramarines battlebarge Beacon of fury orbited around the planet, its commander, Keyes, watching the armies struggle to vanquish each other.
Send down the troops. Planetfall near the Dark angels base. Prepare for a hard fight.

Brother-captain Tanthius was given command of half of the troops while brother-captain Mark assumed command of the other.
They led their troops in the prayers as the dropships fell towards the planets surface, the base-camp of the Dark angels rapidly growing in size.

Keyes ordered his communication officers to send a message to the leaders of all imperial forces and their allies that the Ultramarines would make planetfall and were willing, and eager, to help in the battle.

OT: Because that would be 24 hours after you proposed the extermination of the Taus. In that way he would have some time to react (when I first read your message I got the feeling you were going to delete it right away).

In geostationary orbit above the orkforces, onboard the Beacon of Fury:
- We're hit! We're hit! Hull penetrated! Contact the commander. I want a full retaliation yesterday. (OT: I have no idea what kind of firepower a hive fleet has, if you find this unreasonable in any way please write)

On the planets surface commander Keyes got the messages from the Eldar and the Beacon of fury. He immediately sent five tactical squads, with ten men in each (Three squads were armed with heavy bolters and one armed with a missile launcher), to aid the Eldar and then authorized a full retaliation against the Tyranids after a tactical retreat to get away from the Tyranid cruisers.
He also sent a message to his allies that the Tyranids had attacked his battlebarge in an attempt to shield their landing.

Unrelenting Fury rocked in the wake of the Tyranid attack. On-board, the Space Marine crew fought the invaders, slaughtering many, but losing a few. A message was sent to the Ultramarines,"Confirmed. Preparing boarding parties"

Down on the surface, Templar, seeing the message, ordered an armoured column, consisting of 5 6-man Tactical Squads, in Razorbacks, accompned by Bike outriders, and two Predator Destructors to aid the Xenos

IC: Jormungand and Hive Fleet Marax quickly approached the site of battle. There were many ships in orbit. Many ships that would need to either be destroyed or snuck past. There wasn't going to be much sneaking of a Tyranid Hive Fleet. As such, the Hive Ships began producing spores (basicly sheilds) as soon as it had recognized the enemy ships. They readied the pyro-acid batteries and prepared for battle.

Meanwhile, on the planet, some of Jormungand's lictors had been following the various forces involved in this conflict. One lictor was looking around the Black Angel base camp when all of a sudden, it heard a strange noise from behind him. When it turned around, it saw what the Space Marines had yet to see: a small brood of genestealers who were also observing the enemy Space Marines. These were not of Hive Fleet Marax either. They were from another Fleet. In fact, they were from Hive Fleet Leviathan.
OOC: Yeah, the more the merrier! Just we better make sure we dont kill EVERYTHING!

The Genestealers, following Hive Mind instuctions, started a running crouch. They waited until the current wave of orcs had charged forward and then followed, mowing down a group of orcs half their size. Hissing loudly, the rippers followed.
The orcs stopped, looked, looked back and continued fighting. the more things to kill, the better!

OOC: Yep. Too right about the Orks. Sa'Ceans were the first to meet the Kroot, and wiped out hundreds of thousands of Orks to do so, and to save the Kroot from extinction. Easy. Time to bolster the forces, and go to war for the Greater Good.

IC:

A procession of Orcas led from the orbiting Cadre ships to the new base camp, transporting almost the entire Cadre to the surface, with larger transports shuttling down Devilfish and Hammerhead grav tanks, Tetra and Piranah scout vehicles, and hundreds of drones. The Tau were here to stay, no matter what enemies they faced. With the Rail Rifle armed Pathfinders here, as well as the awesomely powerful Broadside battlesuits, even the metal skinned Necron couldn't stand before them.

So now they would wait for their Marine allies to enter battle, then the Tau would attack the enemy whilst they were too busy focusing on the Marines. If the enemy turned to face the Tau, they would do so at the risk of ignoring the Marines. If they split their force, they would be overwhelmed.

"Shas'O, the green-skinned brutes have launched an attack on the Eldar.Should we assist the Craftworld warriors, or aide the Marines also struggling against the Ork horde?" asked Aun'O I'Shi, the young Ethereal.

"Aun'O, it is my belief that if we help the Marines, they can then be used as allies against the larger Ork force attacking the Eldar. With your permission, I would like to start the attack immediately" replied O'Var, eyeing the Ethereal with some suspicion. 'Trust the Council to give me the youngster who knows nothing' he thought, before dismissing the idea and looking back into the Aun'Os grey eyes.

O'Shi simply nodded his agreement before retreating back into his quarters. O'Var turned to his team leaders and began barking out orders. They would strike quickly into the flank of the Ork army, using the mobility of the Devilfish transports and the Hammerheads, supported by Gun Drone squadrons, to weaken one side of the Ork advance. When the critical moment came, O'Var and his XV-80 battlesuit equipped warriors would drop from overhead Orcas, and strike the weak point in the line.

For now, he left the Kroot and several squads of Fire Warriors to defend the base, along with the less mobile Broadside battlesuits and dozens of drone turrets. It was time for the Tau to go to battle, and make their presence known to those on this war-torn world.

Eldrad watched as the Orc horde began to rush towards this forces, firing there guns which, at this range would be uneffective.

Turning to the D-Cannons at his side the smiled, breifly and nodded at them, batterys of the weapons had been assembled, and over 100 bolts lanced over the Eldar heads towards the orcs, vaporising ground and flesh. Next Eldrad turned to his Jetbikes and Folcons ordering them to atack, while ordering his Fire Prysms to cover, as the D-Cannons reloaded.

The Folcons soared towards the enermy, accomneyed by every Jet Bike the Craftworld had, and the Craftworld had lot of Jetbikes. Orcs fired at the machines, downing 6 folcons and 39 Jetbikes but the rest carried on regardless spraying the ground with there fire before swooping into the trees and firing again, Strunkans sreeding grass and Orc blood.

Once again the folcons came on an attack run and more Eldar viacles fell, almost 60 jetbikes where down and 10 Folcons. Then finally the D-Cannons where ready to fire again and the Jetbikes and Folcons pulled back waiting as the D-Cannon bolts and the Fire Prisms fired in perfect unison.

The Beacon of fury had taken quite a pounding and could not endure another attack. Brother-sergeant Gabriel ordered the ship out of the reach of the planets gravitational force so the remnants after it's destruction-to-come wouldn't rain down upon the surface. When it had reached it's new position the Beacon of fury turned and faced the Tyranids, aiming and firing any weapons left against the foul aliens.

On the surface of the planet the Ultramarines that were stationed at the Eldar's camp had opened fire at the Orks.
Keyes also sent reinforcements (fifteen tactical squads at seven men each, five assault squads at ten men each and two predators).

The two Dreadnoughts (who were sent to investigate the Tyranid landing site) turned and started running towards their base-camp when they noticed the size of the Tyranid forces.

Ivano stared down at the battlefield, unseen in his tree-top perch. It was not uncommon for the Wolf-Lord to do his own scouting ahead of battle. He did not gain his power through politics.
The Black Angels were not in a good position. Many had fallen to the green tide, and judging by the tactical bursts of weapon fire, ammo was running low. As for the Orks, this battle group was partially separated from the rest of the Waaaagh!, but still a force capable of destroying many an army. (OOC: i'm not trying to degrade your force or anything, i'm just hoping  this will balance sides a bit, so that i'm not completely annihilated ;) )
The time had come. The 16th Chapter of the Space Wolves would sit aside no more. Ivano leapt from the tree, and landed in front of the Land Raider. He jumped in and grabbed the comm-reciever. "My brothers! Sons Of Great Russ!," he roared into the microphone,"Battle is upon us at last! Uphold your honour! Remember your training! The Emperor watches over us! Russ blesses us! Ork blood will be spilled this night! Our brothers fall in their duty no longer! Now we join the fight! Brothers of the Wolf! RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDE!!"

The convoy ripped through the forest with an unholy might, crushing trees and creatures below them. The Land Raider and Leman Russ variants ripped forward towards the Ork flank, the Bikers and Land Speeders roared along behind, the assualt marines darted in and out between the Rhinos and Razorbacks. The Predators slid into position on the higher ground, as the Rhinos deposited the Long Fangs, led by the mighty Iron-Priest. At the fore of the army, just behind Ivano's Land Raider, Venerable Dreadnought Archaelus pounded along, his battle hungry eyes glinting inside his armoured hide. The blue-grey tide smashed into the greenskin hoard with a roar. Several of the transports exploded on the way in, quick-reacting Ork guns ending the lives of many fine Marines. Ivano could see his brothers pouring forth into the vile Ork scum, hacking with axes and firing with their bolters, but still he could see his brothers being pulled down by the green masses. The Wolves cut a swath into the Orks, and a ragged cheer rose from the Black Angel line. The tide of battle was turning, but soon the element of surprise would be lost, and the fighting would worsen. But for now the Wolves blood lust continued, and Orks fell in their droves.

He was followed by the remains of the task force, who had taken all the Orks could throw and were still standing. Hanst's crozius crackled, striking Ork's left and right. A stray shoota round blew out the tyres on the bike, and Hanst was thrown off, into the mass of greenskins. He rose, and along with his force, kept advancing, caught in the blood lust that was part of their genetic make-up. The door of the Land Raider lowered slowly, but before it had even touched the ground Ivano and his Wolf Guard were upon the greenskins, their blades ripping flesh and bone asunder. He saw the Black Angel Chaplain tearing a hole in the Ork line and began tearing a path towards him. Beside him Valeri Dukov, one of his oldest friends, took a crude blow to the back, and toppled forwards, dead. Ivano's eyes burned with a hatred that would make stubborn men quake. He pounced upon the offending Ork, tearing its head from its shoulders with his bare hands. The rage of the Wulfen was alive in him. Foolish would be the foe that defied him this day.

Across the field Iron-Preist Ramenov dictated firing patterns to the Long Fangs, selecting targets for the various heavy weapons. he gazed over the masses below. He could see a small group of Orks ascending the hill towards him. Good, his blade would taste battle this day.

Scout Sergeant Kyo wiped sweat from his forehead. His scouts could be proud this day. He fired perfectly aimed shots from his sniper rifle into the hoarde, not wasting a single round. His scouts were becoming isolated from the main pack, and things were becoming desperate. In his heart he knew he would not see another dawn. Nevertheless he grinned. There were plenty of Orks to kill before then.

The Tau ship neared the planet. The rumors of rebel Tau had spread quickly through the Tau Empire and now it was going to be sorted out. They hadn't been expecting the scene infront of them. Tyranids and Space Marines locked in a vicious space combat.

O'Or'es believed it would help him. If he could slip away unnoticed and drop a few Hunter Cadres down before any threat to the mission, he could do this job a lot more efficiently. He didn't have the best understanding of space combat, he left that to the Air Caste.

That was when an explosion ripped through the ship. Unnoticed by the enemy? Yes, a stray salvo of torpedos. The ship's commander had warned O'Or'es, and now he knew why. Damage reports were already filling the screens.

El'Malcor, the ship's commander, was already brodcasting on the ships speakers "Abandon Ship. Abandon Ship. Get everything we can down to the planet, Hunter Cadres and vital equipment first, then any extras. El'Malcor out"

He turned to O'Or'es, "Come with me, I will lead you to an Orca dropship. For the greater good."

Cain read the slate again. Jurgen's smell anounced his morning cup of recaf. "Here you are Commissar. Is there anything else I can do for you?" Cain thought about it. "No thankyou Jurgen, I'll be ready to brief Colonel Kasteen and Majot Brokenlaw in half an hour." Jurgen nodded and left. His smell still hung within the room but Cain had gotten use to it well over the years. He read the data slate again, making sure his orders were correct.

His regiment of Valhallans was being ordered to a mud ball called Cathrien. Supposedly a major Eldar attack was happening there. And as usual Cain knew his reputation had got him into another sticky situation. Of course he'd go in proudly waving his Valhallans onward into battle while trying to find some excuse short of shooting himself in the foot to get out of it.

He looked out the port side window of the space hulk Allegiance. They had boarded it after their fight several months ago with seven other Imperial Guard regiments. At first they were going to take a warp trip to a hive world to recruit and plug holes in the ranks of the Guardsmen. But only Emperor knew why they had suddenly been redirected to this new battlefield. Even after being slightly sad at having to risk again in battle, he did have the good knews that a few Adeptus Astartes were present there, but this meant that the enemy was such that such awsome killing machines as the Astartes was needed. It gave Cain chills, but only small ones. He'd faced Eldar before, Tyranid Genestealers, and other Chaos filth in the galaxy.

Standing up he took up his cap and reajusted it in the mirror. He always thought one should look sharp infront of officers under you, or at least thats what he kept telling his dashing face. He picked up the slate and walked out to the briefing room.

OOC:  YOU LITTLE....!

IC:
The Hive Tyrant onboard the mother ship hissed in defiance as everything around him was engulfed in flames. Urgently, he sent signals using synapse for everything to get the hell out of there!
The mothership, half destroyed, crashed into the dense forests. The Hive Tyrant was dead. Tyranids went scuttling in all directions, no longer under control of the HIve Mind. Luckily, the genestealers, rippers and gargoyles were still under control of scattered broods of Warriors. the main bulk of the Hive Fleet Leviathan had been destroyed. The ships that remained in orbit attacked everything possible in a kamikaze fasion.
One side of the mothership burst open. Too many limbs shot out in all directions. The onlooking scouts (don't know whose they are, doesn't matter) gasped in horror. The beast smelt their fear and charged towards them... to FEAST!

The final Tau pathfinders had returned. It had been a good day. There wasn't much new information but the Orks had been tracked on to a road adn obvious Tau markings had been discovered. The day was about to be improved further. The two Aun connected to the had been found in a life pod. Everybody had hoped against hope they were alive, but if they hadn't appeared soon then morale would have failed.

Mephael walked up to O'Or'es with the two Aun. He had become restless but he, as all his soldiers, had come to respect the Aun and was glad at their return. He was just about to talk when he saw a green flash in the distance. He muttered under his breath "If there are necrons, their will be trouble". Last time he saw a necron it had just blown off the head of his closest freind and comrade.

IC: High up on a hillside, out of sight, Paleneus (haven't got a name for him yet, and I suck at making names - this was off the top of my head) surveyed the battle between the orcs and space marines.
"Should I prepare the attack?" Asked one of the commanders.
"No, not yet. Lets see how this battle turns out"

OOC: They aren't in the battle at all yet, this was just an introduction. I will introduce them fully at another time.

Mephael hadn't been the only one to see the flash, but he was the first to inform O'Or'es. After a quick discussion with the Aun it was decided to send out one pathfinder squad with blacksun filters (basicly night vision goggles).

They squad searched all night but there was no sign of the necrons. There was a sign of something that could be far worse. One pathfinder found a peice of bony carapace, dry but stained with blood. Tyranids were not safe in any circumstances, least of alla delicate mission. Any more signs and help would be necessary.

Still, the remainder of the Chapter would be here by morning, and then the Black Angels, with their new found brethern, the Sons of Russ, would strike back, striking fear into the hearts of their enemies

OOC: Can I have a casulty report and an idea on how many orcs I have to kill yet?

IC:The ORcs where within range of both the Dark Reapers and the Guardians now, in one huge crack of weapondry all of the Eldar opened fire, some in the line falling from shooter shots but most where safe in bunkers. Ordering fire as soon as you reload Eldrad knew the battle had to be almost won. The sheer amount of firepower he had at his desposal, and he still had his Titans to bring into battle, meant that the Orcs would not break through his line.

He had ordered the Jetbikes and Folcons back and sent the Wraithlords and other walkers forwards, they opened fire with there Plasma cannons as well. It would not be long now until the Orcs broke. He watched as one well armoured Orc manged to amke his way through the storm of strunkan before a well placed Plasma shot threw him back into the Orc dead and wounded, lying 5 deep on the jungle floor.

Not that there was a JUngle anymore, the sheer amount of gire being exachanged between the 2 sides meant that every tree and most plants had been destroyed, but Eldrad knew hearing thuds of footsteps that his Titans would come into play soon.

OOC: Eldar Losses:

Guardian: 125
Jetbikes: 69
Folcons:10

The Ultramarines made their way through what was left of the jungle, firing their bolters on the run and hoping they would hit something. They had got separated from the Eldar during the fight, but did no longer care.
They heard the sound of gunfire and Eldar plasma cannons as well as the screams of the Orks and the thuds of the wraithlords as they made their way across the battlefield... Victory couldn't be far away.
Yet, for all that, brother-sergeant Mark was worried. His troops had taken casualties. The assault marines were surely dead and they had lost three squads already, including the one that was carrying the only missile launcher.
He hoped the rest of the reinforcements would show up soon.

Starting strenght:
50 SM in tactical squads (three heavy bolters and one missie launcher)
Losses:
30 SM form tactical squads (one missile launcher, two heavy bolters) and fifty assault marines.
Sent reinforcements:
105 SM in tactical squads, fifty assault marines and two predators.
Arrived reinforcements:
Fifty assault marines.

OOC: Titans. Big mutherfuckers! Basically, an advanced Dreadnought, with massive weapons, huge armour, and they stand about 200-300 feet tall. The Ork version is a Gargant. Reminder: I will help anyone with techs, rules, etc. And Theao is not GM'ing, I know the Ork rules, he is allowed to do this, especially the looted vehicle part

IC: The Black Angels, whose reinforcements had arrived during the lull in the fighting, came spilling out of their trenches, Assualt Marines and Dreadnoughts hitting the Ork horde. The Devastators and Predators took a heavy toll, with Lascannons, Frag and Krak missiles, heavy bolters and multi-melta's blowing chunks out of the line. At the head of the assualt forces came Templar, his jet-pack billowing flame,"FOR THE EMPEROR!" he screamed, as they crashed headlong into the horde. The Land Raiders, their trakcs groaning under their own weight, disgorged Assualt Terminators, whos lightning claws and thunder hammers were crackling with energy, advancing in spite of heavy enemy fire. As they advanced, Marines fell in large numbers, but this only drove their brethern forward with a greater fury. The Adeptus Astartes were here to play, and the Orks seemed only too willing to oblige

As the Adeptus Astartes joined the fray, the Tau Hunter Cadre arrived en masse. Twelve Devilfish transports swarmed down into the left flank of the Ork assault, burst cannon blazing as hundreds of shots screamed towards the green-skinned horde. Behind them, Hammerhead tanks brought their heavy railguns to bear, targetting the looted Land Raiders, the Dreadnought, and the smaller Killer Kans. Other Hammerheads launched volleys of deadly droid guided missiles and huge pulses from ion and plasma cannons, firing into the Ork mobs.

As long as the enemies of the Emperor still draws breath there shall be no peace. Tomorrow, we shall have peace!! shouted Brother-lieutenant Angelus to his troops once they had joined with the two squads under command of brother-sergeant Mark. His troops replied with an deafening battlecry as they stormed the Orks's flank, seeing the havoc the Black angels and the Eldar had caused within the ranks of the Orks. IC:

As the Ork anti-tank units scurried towards the tanks, they pulled back, their superior speed allowing them to safely avoid the incoming fire. One Hammerhead was hit by multiple rokkits, and it slammed into the ground hard, bursting into a huge ball of flame as its ammunition exploded. Once they were far enough away, the Devilfish unloaded their infantry, and the Tau Fire Warriors formed a solid fire base, pouring thousands of pulse rifle shots into the oncoming burna boys, who were clearly outranged and out gunned. In support, the Devilfish fired off their own missiles and burst cannon, and the Hammerheads continued to pummel the Ork vehicles with heavy firepower, whilst the missile pod equipped tanks all targetted the Mek Boy leading the left flank of the Ork army. Hundreds of gun drones also appeared, flitting around above the Fire Warriors, launching volleys of pulse carbine shots and grenades into the middle of the Ork mobs.

Hanst and Templar met up in the midst of the battle, and stood back to back, blowing holes in any Ork foolish enough to come close. As the Ultramarines advanced upon the horde, Hanst offered a silent prayer to the Emperor for victory. It was so near, yet so far. Many had fallen, but they would be avenged. The Blood Angel part of the geneseed pulsed with power, driving the Black Angels to ever greater feats of bravery and heroism.
Templar opened up his commlink, as he disembowled one Ork,"Brother-Sergeant Angeluss!"

Within the lead Predator, the Marine reacted,"Yes, Brother-Captain?"

"Begin the advance. Bring the Tactical squads forward, and KEEP FIRING!"

"Roger that"

The entire armour unit began to move forward, rolling over the mounds of corpses in their path. The Machine Spirits of each vehicle drove the vehicles, the crew firing the weapons. They would aid their brethern, and it would be a glorius slaughter

While the general melee was roaring about some of the kommandos had snuck around the eldar line and were preparing for an attack directly into the deadly ranged, but almost useless hand to hand eldar. The Warboss ordered more boys into the hellish conflict in which many of the fighters on all sides were slipping and tripping in the slurry* made of butchered orks, eldar, space marines and tau. Suddenly, a squad of Pathfinders dived from a flaming devilfish, railrifles ripping holes in the Ork flanks, while the Fire Warriors landed on the back of a Predator, adding to its already lethal arsenal. The modified close combat battlesuits, including that of the Commander, landed in the middle of the Orks, crushing several on the way down and slicing a mob in half with their glowing blue weapons 3 times as long as an Ork is tall.
