A grin slid across both Karl and Hans' face as Helga made her last remark. It was obvious that Norin had already been beaten (although to a very minor degree). "Well I think it's too late for God to do anything..." Karl remarked.

He gathered his papers up however and Hans got up and left the room. "You are however free to go. Norin, you have served your Empire well... The information you provided will help us solve this entire dilemma once and for all..." Karl said.

Norin looked up, a much brighter spark in his eyes now. It was obvious that Karl's words had an effect on him that put new life back inside of himself. Norin then rose from his chair and quickly saluted, Karl returning the salute afterwards.

"Thank you sir... We'll be on our way now." Norin said before ushering Helga out of the chair.

"A ride to the train station has been arranged for you two." Karl said before leading them out the door.

The two were then escorted to the curb where another black car was waiting, the rear door open and awaiting passengers.

Norin let Helga enter first and then he slid in next to her. As soon as the door closed, the car made off for the train station. During the beginning of their ride, Norin sat in silence, not certain what to say. It certainly had been a rough greeting for their first day back in the country.

Helga, once on the train, took out her cellular phone, a secure one, and dialed Dieter's number, talking in Afrikaans for a few minutes, she had just put a hit out on the two men who dared to harm her husband.

With a grin, she tucked the phone away and kissed Norin on the cheek before saying, "Don't worry, dear, those men won't ever bother you again... I've seen to it..."

He looked up, surprised. "Wait... what did you do exactly? Those men were just doing their jobs..." Norin said, rather defensive of the ASP agents.

Helga grinned as she said, "Don't worry, they'll be doing their job once they're damned into hellfire and brimstone, they can serve their dark lord in hell... They had no right to touch you."

She gently put her arms around him as she whispered in his ear, "Norin, dear, they threatened to harm me, a pregnant woman, pregnant with your child... They're beasts and will get what they deserve, okay?"

Norin felt his jaw drop. "Those were government officials, doing their business..." He said in a hushed tone. Norin didn't want to draw too much attention to their conversation. "They were just trying to get important information... besides I doubt they would've actually acted on the threat... against you at least..." He said, now worried about what might happen to them.

"Who exactly did you call Helga?" Norin asked sternly, wanting no more problems around him.

Helga cracked a slight smile as her cheeks blushed red. "I called Dieter, he's going to have his friends handle the job..." She said.

"No." Norin said firmly. "No, I will not have that... The whole reason we ended up their was because of Gunther and his friends. The last thing I need is Dieter involved as well. I want you to call that whole thing off immediately Helga." He ordered. Quite frankly Norin didn't want to deal with the ASP in that setting again.

Helga raised a brow but then gave him a very pouty and helpless look as she innocently pleaded, "Oh, please, Norin, let me help you this once, you've helped me before... Can't I return the favor and at the very least have those two brutes beaten ten fold what they did to you? I mean daddy doesn't have to have them killed, they could just be worked over a bit, yes?"

"No Helga... I'm not even going to consider it..." He said firmly. Then after a brief but awkward silence Norin spoke up in a more caring, normal tone. "Why don't you just sit back and enjoy the scenery for the time being... It really is a lovely view..." Norin said. "Besides we won't get to Amhurst for at least a half of an hour from now."

Helga nodded her head and sat back in her seat, grinning on the inside, he'd forgotten to press the issue of making her call the hit off. Thus the hits were still on, and he'd be avenged, whether he wanted it or not, or realized it or not. Nobody would mess with her husband as long as she could help it.

Norin coughed, hoping to gain Helga's attention. "Aren't you going to call up Dieter?" He asked, rather quietly, not wanting to draw attention to themselves. Afterall there could be plainclothes ASP agents on the train.

"Yes you must..." Norin said bluntly. Their move had already gotten off to a bad enough start and Helga seemed to want to make things even worse for them. In the meantime though Norin glanced up at the small display above the doors.

"Nez Haet: Einzbur..." The words scrolled across in Avadrian. They were soon followed by the English translation. "Next Stop: Einzbur..."

Norin nodded. "Just one more stop until we get off..." He said. Norin checked his watch. "It shouldn't be much more than fifteen or twenty minutes."

Several of the passengers cast odd glances towards Helga upon hearing her speak in a foreign language. However most of them brushed it off when the train rolled in for its stop at Einzbur Station. A small amount of the passengers in the car exited, most of them being business people heading home for the day.

"Thank you..." Norin had simply said in reply. He still couldn't believe that Helga had the nerve to call the hit on the men in the first place. So far it seemed that he would have to keep a good eye on her while they setteled in.

Then the doors closed and the train picked up speed again, now heading towards the Grand Imperial Station in Amhurst. The voice of a young woman came on over the intercom to inform them of their next destination.

"Daet nez haet ist Amhurst Zentral..." She said, the recording repeating once more.

A glance at the displays above the door indicated in both Avadrian and English that the next stop was the central stop in Amhurst.

Norin again glanced rolled the sleeve of his coat back and checked his watch. "It shouldn't be much longer than ten minutes." He said, informing her of their estimated time of arrival.

Helga seemed a bit unsettled when the folks around her looked at her with such stares just for speaking the language she had known all her life. Once they were on the train and seated, she whispered to Norin in English, "Are they hostile to foreigners around here?"

Norin took a deep breath and exhaled. It was a difficult matter that varied from person to person. "No... I can assure you that no one hates foreigners... I think Afrikaans might just be a bit unusual for them to hear..." He said explaining things to her. "Besides, you should worry about those people. Afterall they're probably just tried and the new language surprised them or something to that degree." Norin said with a smile, hoping to erase any unease she might have about Avadrian people.

"I'm certain you will..." Norin said, taking her hand in return.

After several minutes the train rolled under a large stone archway, followed by several others before entering a stone tunnel for a brief moment. The tunnel led to the interior of the Grand Imperial station, where the train slowed to a halt.

A tone sounded and the doors slid open, signaling that they had fully stopped. A great majority of the passengers exited out of the train and into the busy station. Norin, not wanting to miss their chance, held tight to Helga's hand and ushered her up and out of the train.

They were greeted with the crowded, yet open interior of the Grand Imperial Station. The architecture of the building was of a very old, design, yet the main portion of the interior was very modern, featuring an assortment of shops, cafes, and other modern amenities.

Norin led them through the crowd and towards a clear area near the money exchange. He began to dig through his wallet, producing a fair sized wad of Mississippian Dollars. Of course Norin had more, but he would use a bank to cash that.

"You might want to exchange some of your money... you're only going to be able to use Cetina here." Norin said, informing Helga of their economic policy towards foreign currency. "The rate is about even. You'll get one-hundred Cetina for each dollar." He said before handing the money to the woman at the money exchange booth.

Norin was soon handed a large amount of bills and as well as a fair sized amount of coins.

((Cetina is based off of the Japanese Yen to a point. 1 Cetina is the least and is a coin, then 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500. Then 1,000 and above are all bills. It's basically 100 Cetina to the Dollar.))

Helga took out her Mississippian primary banking card and handed it to the clerk, saying, "I'd like to exchange one million Mississippian dollars, please give me the money in 20s and 50s and a nice case to go with it would be great... Thanks."

Norin's jaw dropped, that amount of money was inconseviable to exchange at such a small booth, especially for getting just coins. He quickly translated what Helga said to the woman, and the exchange was promptly refused.

Norin shook his head. "You'd have to go to a bank for that amount of money." He said. "And I wouldn't recommend 'fifties' afterall it would refer to a coin. You'd want it in ten or fifty thousands." Norin said, informing her of the different money. "Anyways, there's a bank not too far from here... We can exchange your money there..." He said.

Upon passing through the large, open, stone archways that led out into the heart of Amhurst and Norin led them down the stairs towards the street below. The sun was setting but still hung above the houses and other buildings that dominated the square but it was still fairly busy.

Norin raised his arm, hailing a small, white, taxicab towards them. He ushered Helga into the cab and then told the uniformed driver their destination.

"Kelinan tus do daet kobdaf bedon." Norin said to the driver. The driver nodded and then put the car into drive, taking off towards the nearest bank.

Helga nodded her head and then sat back to let Norin have some peace after the days events. She didn't want to disturb him too much knowing he'd been roughed up by the ASP.

Suddenly her cellular phone rang, she answered it and spoke for a minute in Mississippikaans. Then she handed the phone to Norin, whispering, "It's the Czar... He wants to talk to you..."

Roger got right to the point, after he said, "Hello, Norin, how are you?" he didn't even wait for a reply, going right into, "I heard you got roughed up by some toughs in the secret police, you're a Mississippian noble, and I can't stand for that... I think you'll have an official government apology waiting for you when you get to your estate. Oh by the way, I had some friends buy you an estate, I hope you like it... Anyway, how are you doing?"
Avadria
25-02-2005, 06:12
Norin was rather unnerved that word had spread to the Czar. The Mississippian involvement with the ASP would only brew more trouble. As far as Norin knew, he'd get an apology but they would never take their eyes off of him. For the time now he had other things to worry about.

"Uh... thank you sir..." Norin said, rather surprised at the speed which the Czar had acted. But Norin was also worried about other things that concerned the Czar at the time. "I'm doing well... but Mister Fabus, I'm not certain things are going to go over too well between our nations within the week. They know about Gunther's operation here a few weeks back... thirty something police officers died as a result and the government certainly isn't going to drop it." He said, informing the Czar of what the interrorgation had been about.

Roger shook his head, "No, no, no," he said, sighing before continuing, "That won't do, not at all... We can't compromise what that operation was about and what the Gregory unit had to do with it. Anyway, Gregory is dead, and the occult was dealt a serious blow. Anyway, I have to run, tell Helga I said bye and take care."

"Either way they know about the commandos and everything..." Norin managed quickly. "I'm certain you'll find out about it in a more formal matter in due time." He said before dropping the subject and wrapping up the conversation. "Yes of course... I'll tell her." Norin said, agreeing to tell Helga what he had said. "Goodbye Mister Fabus." He said before hanging up the phone.

"Roger said goodbye and told us to take care..." Norin said while handing her the phone.

Roger seemed to have ended the phone conversation with perfect timing as the taxi was nearing the bank. Norin withdrew his wallet and produced the amount of money that had appeared on the till. It was all in coins, a five-hundred and several one-hundreds, not to mention a few tens and a five or two.

Once the taxi stopped, Norin put it on the small tray that was set between the front and back and then exited the cab with Helga once the driver confirmed that Norin had payed in full.

"Are you certain you want to cash that much money at this time?" Norin asked as they headed up the stairs towards the front doors.

Norin nodded. "True... I suppose it just seems like alot though..." He shrugged before opening the door. "But you are right... we'll need money..." Norin said as Helga entered the bank. He immediately followed after.

Upon entering the bank Norin looked around briefly in the hope of finding someone who could handle their exchange in English. He knew for a fact that they had people like that so they could deal with tourists and other foreigners.

It only took a few moments before Norin was able to locate one. He took Helga's hand and walked her over the small, wood panel cubicle that served as his office. It was identical to the others in the room, but allowed for some privacy when dealing with customers.

"Hello..." The man said cheerfully. He was a younger man, maybe a few years older than Norin, and was dressed in a nice suit, common within the entire building. "I understand you'd like to be exchanging some money today?" He asked, just making sure what he had been told was correct.

The man eagerly accepted her invitation to shake hands. "I'm Max Endmar, It's a pleasure to be doing buisness with you two..." He said, introducing himself. However the tone of Max's voice dropped when Helga brought up how much she wanted to exchange. Max coughed, clearing his throat and then after taking a deep breath, offered both of them to take a seat across from him.

"Well..." He said, adjusting his tie slightly. "That certainly is a large sum of money..." Max said with a laugh. He had never dealt with anyone wanting to exchange that much. "I have to wonder as to whether you want the money in cash or if you would rather create an account with us?" Max asked, uncertain how Helga wanted to handle such a large sum of money.

Norin nodded. "We'll go with that... Two-hundred and fifty-thousand in cash and the rest in an account." He said to Max.

Max nodded and then entered a few things into his computer. "Alright... that comes out to being... Twenty-five million Cetina in cash and Seventy-five million on the account..." He said before typing a few more things into the computer. Then Max rolled his chair back towards a file cabinet at the end of his 'office' and thumbed through one of the drawers before producing several forms. He placed them on the table, facing Helga, and then set a cheap pen ontop of them.

"Your money is on it's way and here... these are so you can open a new account... that is unless you have one already..." Max said, pointing to Norin, uncertain whether he had one or not.

Norin nodded in reply. "Yes, I already have one, but I think it might be best that my wife create one of her own as well..." He said, motioning towards Helga as he spoke.

Max nodded. "Well then, just fill these out and we'll get the money in their immediately..." He said. Then Max mentally slapped himself. "That reminds me, I will need the money you plan on exchanging, on the table before I can give you yours..." He said, surprised that he made such a critical error.

"Yes of course it is... After all it is your money..." Norin said with a smile.

It was something that he wouldn't bring up unless he was certain of it. That of course would be easy to figure out once he looked over the forms.

"That is unless of course you plan on sharing the account?" He asked, uncertain if they both would be using it.

Max nodded and took the papers, reading them over to see if everything was filled out correctly. Of course everything was perfect and everything seemed to add up. A small grin spread across his face as he realized that it must be true.

"You're Norin Fallsburg aren't you?" He said, pointing at him with a pen.

Norin nodded, suprised as he hadn't even told the man his name. "Y-Yes... Why is that important?" He asked, unsure why the man was the way he was after uncovering that fact.

"It isn't really... My wife however was caught up in the whole story about your kidnapping, the resurfacing in Mississippi, and all of that..." Max said with a laugh. "Anyways, I'm glad to see you've survived that whole mess... And made a considerable fortune along the way." He added with a laugh.

They were saved from what might have become a rambling, obnoxious, conversation by a man carrying a large, but very nice briefcase. On each side of him two armed guards stood. The man stepped forward, placing the briefcase on the desk. He then collected all of the money and the forms in another case and promptly left.

"Well then, here is your money... All large bills I assume..." Max said, sliding the briefcase towards Helga. "Your account will be active in about half a week... We'll contact you so that you can collect your card and account information." He said, informing Helga of the status of things.

Once they reached the bottom, Norin was about to call a cab, when he realized that he didn't know where home was. He supposed they could always go back to his old place, but that most likely wouldn't happen. Afterall the whole place was still considered a crime scene after what happened.

A car like that stood out well amongst the Avadrian cars and certainly got a fair amount of odd glances from the Avadrians that were nearby. At the sight of the car however, Norin knew that it must've been someone associated with Roger or Dieter, after all the car was foreign, intended for them, and it certainly did look expensive.

Then after a brief conversation with the driver, Helga turned to Norin to explain the cars purpose. Regardless though the car was their for a purpose and Norin eagerly got inside, he was rather excited to see their new home. He just hoped Roger had chose well.

He liked some of the foreign cars, although he preferred Avadrian cars in the long run, despite the fact that they might seem smaller compared to what most people were used to.

The driver shrugged, "Hey, I don't know, anyway, you ought to see the place, I imagine you'll just love it, Mr. Thaller thinks so and hopes so."

Helga then whispered to Norin, "Anyway, about having Roger and Alice over, that might be a bit awkward, since Roger and I well... I... It just might be uncomfortable possibly for Alice, but only if she knows that is..." She finally just got out with it, "I sort of had a thing for Roger a while ago, and I sort of lived at Stalingrad for a year or so, mostly to get away from my father and all that, but a few things happened during that year..."

"Really?" Norin said turning to Helga. He could see why she must've had a thing for Roger, afterall he was a man that commanded alot of respect and certainly held a great deal of power. For that he could forgive Helga. But on the topic of hostility between Alice and Helga, Norin didn't see anything to worry about.

"I wouldn't worry about you and Alice having trouble together... Afterall we're married..." Norin said. Then he sought to quickly correct himself. "Well, half married at least... Afterall we still need to wed here... then it'll be official." He said to Helga.

Helga nodded head, smiling before saying, "Yes, we are married, and I couldn't be happier... Anyway, I don't think Alice even knows about my having lived at Stalingrad."

Norin nodded with a smile. "And I don't think it is something Roger would be willing to disclose... So in the end it isn't anything we have to worry about." He said, still beaming.

Helga again nodded her head, replying, "Yes, I think you're right... Anyway, I always liked Roger more than he liked me, well he really just wanted to be friends, even though my father kept trying to get Curtis to make Roger marry me. Although, he was a very nice friend and he helped me out a lot, Roger's a good guy, if it wasn't for him, you and I probably wouldn't be together right now, and I'd have been in dire trouble and possibly even dead, that's the sad truth, but he helped me out of it."

Norin nodded. He really didn't want to know the details of Helga's relationship with Roger, but he was glad to hear that it was because of Roger that she was alive and they were together now. For that Norin was again willing to put Helga's relationship with Roger out of his mind for the time being.

"And for that we owe him our deepest thanks..." He said with a smile. Norin then kissed Helga lightly on her lips.

Helga put her arms gently around him and returned the kiss.

The driver did his best to keep his eyes on the road, not wanting to be concerning himself with things that weren't his business.

After about twenty minutes, he said, "We ought to be there soon, ma'am..." to Helga, who had been lightly kissing Norin for the last twenty or so minutes.

Norin was smiling and returning the affection offered by Helga. Of course it was rather awkward given the fact that the driver seemed to be glancing back every so often. However that fact aside, he was rather excited to here that they would be arriving soon. Norin was looking forward to seeing the estate and despite Helga's attention towards him, was thinking about what the future held once they moved in.

Helga smiled before saying, "We're almost there, right? So, what do you want to do once we get there and get settled in?"

Norin shrugged. "Well I suppose the best thing we could do would be to call my parents and invite them over..." He suggested to Helga. "Afterall you've never even had a proper introduction with them." Norin reminded Helga

Helga immediately nodded her head in agreement with him. "Yes, you're absolutely right, we should do that... But shouldn't we settle in first and make sure everything is presentable?" she asked.

"Ah, yes of course..." Norin said with a firm nod. They had to actually move into the house before they did anything else. "As well I think we should phone your father and Roger later on to thank them for the estate..." He added.

Helga smiled and nodded her head again; again agreeing, "Yes, if you say so Norin. Indeed, I think it'd be the proper thing, yes?"
