The Allied fighter squadrons, with the Emperor leading the charge, flew for the worldship, even as it spewed the last amount of firepower it can muster. The red beams crisscrossed the sky, but they were so few in number due to orbitial bombardments by the Imperial Star Destroyers, that the fighters didn't have to dodge very much.
The fighters quickly reached the gaping hole, and plunged in. It was a long trip to the core, and the fighters had to dodge the parts of the superstructure that jutted from the walls. Two X-wings died when they crashed into the winding pathway.
The squadrons soon reached the core, a huge 500 mile wide cavern with a black, pulsating mass in the center. This is the Overmind, now completely insane as it's fellow Shivans continues to die out.
One of the Overmind's arms struck out for the fighters, but they were too quick and dodged easily. It seems that the Overmind really is dying.
What a big, ugly, son of a bitch. The Emperor thought. "All fighters, launch torpedos or missiles, now! Move in with primaries if you think you can do it!"
The Emperor and his squadrons began to fire a volley of proton torpedoes and concussion missiles straight into the Overmind.

OOC:I'll post damage once everyone fires.

Wells: Fire all weapons

Wells: Get us the hell out of here!
OOC: I know that was bad, but I'm short on time

"Sir, we achieved a direct hit, the damage is obvious..."

"Order all ships to open fire on the remaining fighters and capital ships, no need to waste our ships on that doomed vessel..."

With that, the 4 Doomgivers had over 2000 turbo lasers firing on the fighters, in addition to the Defiants, while the Galaxies targetted the capital ships...

Total losses-21 Defiants, 19 Akiras, 3 Galaxies

The Fighter Squadron entered the ship's gaping hole. They crisscrossed through the winding path, and lost 3 fighters to it's tricks. They then reached the cavern with coreworld fighters already attacking the overmind. Instantely the fighters decided to attack the overmind too, just in case coreworlds needed help.

" This is squadron leader, all units lock on to target and empty your weapons on it." He said, with a bit of eagerness in his voice.

The fighter squadron took to a V-formation bombing. Once within reach, they unloaded plasma fire, photon torpedoe's and laser blasts at the overmind.


OOC: Is that alright? I am allowed to attack the overmind too,right? Or was it supposed to be only you coreworlds? Because if so, just disregard my post.

Piett: Call back fighters!

Tact: They already returned as soon as they saw the ground forces had the upper hand.

Piett: And what of the ships trying to ram us?

Tact: Overwhelmed by our firepower. The debris just disintigrated against the shields. We lost a total of 15 War Cruisers and most of the other ships sustained minimal damage.

Piett:Very well, Piett to fleet, focus all fire on the world ship. I want a smoldering debris field by the time those CoreWorlds fighters escape.

The fleet turned from whatever ships it was decimating and commenced bombardment, their only goal to destroy the planet enough so that the air got a little thin for the Shivans. It was the least they could do to avenge the lost RS crewmen who gave their lives fighting to save humanity itself.

The fighters exited the hole, and rtb. Once entering the fighter bay doors, they were greeted by roars of joy that most of their fighters returned alive.

" Fire all weapons at that thing and end this skirmish!" Said Neopol.

"Aye,sir!"

Blue and red lasers were reaching for the world ship, hitting every point possible.

OOC:LOL Smooth Doom, smooth.

The Overmind crumbled under the assault of the Emperor's squadron and it finally died, blowing apart. The fireball slowly expanded at first, letting the pilots know that it's time to go.
"Let's get out of here!" Andrew shouted, and his squadron zoomed out of the core and raced the fireball to the surface. The X-wings shot out of the hole, and seconds later, fires raged outward, and the planet exploded into pieces no bigger than a house, allowing the allied fleet to shoot them down at their leisure.
The Shivans have been eradicated and every last ship was destroyed. No longer will any planet face destruction by the Shivans. No more will human blood be shed by their claws. Long live the human race!
The Emperor flew down to Juria, among the cheering crowds of his people.
"Long live the Emperor! Long live the Emperor!" Went the cry of the people, and his son was swept up in his arms as if he was a toddler again. Picture-perfect victory!
A news crew was scraped up and the galaxy tuned in to hear his words.
"My fellow humans! The Shivans are no more!"
Cheering went on for a while.
"We could not have done it without our allies, numerous nations who came to our aid in our hour of need. I personally wish to thank all of you for your help, and to thank you for your sacrifices. Without your help, humanity (here, at least) will have been destroyed. The war is over, and there is nothing left to do, but rebuild. Thank you, Allies, and May the Force be with You."
The Emperor finished speaking, and ignited his lightsaber in salute. The Jedi did the same, for several seconds. The future of humanity is assured, and no threats will come for a long time indeed. Long live Coreworlds and her Allies. Long live, the Force.

The emporer left the bridge and entered the throne room. His aprentice awaited him.

"My lord, the first phase of the plan is complete. With the Shivans out of the way, the dark side will finnaly prevail."

"Yes, my young apprentice. Yes, we shall crush the jedi dogs, and finnaly unite humanity under the one glorious banner. The banner of the Sith *scary music plays*."

As the planetoid, a symbol of fear and mindless destruction, erupted in its death throes, cheers rang out all over Hyperion Fleet. As Piett sat in the command chair and watched the Emperor's speech on the viewscreen. It was then the enormity of the situation sank in: with his help, humanity, all of it, was saved. He ordered a course back to RS space and assigned all crewmen mandatory two week shoreleave. The RS-112 Minelayers went and collected the mines around the sun before returning to cheers and a heroes welcome. In the future, when humanity faces it's darkest hour, it can look to beacons of hope in the form of CoreWorlds, TheLiberator, Warhaven, Vi20, East Coast Federation, Doomingsland, and Ruthless Slaughter.

OOC: Methinks now would be a perfect time to reveal the plot twist. :D

R.L.: In light of this recent turn of events, Ruthless Slaughter is remaining nuetral. We are allies with both Doomingsland and CoreWorlds, and taking sides would be catastrophic. Therefore, it brings me great sorrow that RS must close its borders indefinitely. Thank you. *turns and walks back into palace*

IT IS OVER. ALL SHIPS ARE TO LEAVE FOR NEUTRAL TERRITORY AND RESUME RESEARCH ON THE OMEGA PARTICAL. The Collective half thought half ordered.

A cube shot a beam into the depths of space opening a transwarp conduit for unknown destenations. All at once, The entire collective moved into the singularity of the conduit and, simply, disappeared. The Conduit remained open for a few seconds longer. The collective beamed through a message to the allied fleets as they were leaving.

IF YOU EVER NEED HELP AGAIN, CALL..........

And at that, the Conduit closed leaving space once again, normal.

Willing: Nice fighting with you, However I can't throw a party :(.

As Piett's fleet screamed through space towards the only open entrance into RS territory, (I say that because we're mining our borders to make sure that they're really closed) he sent a message over the channel:
Piett: It's been a pleasure fighting with you all. Truly this day was a day won for all humans. Now that RS is nuetral, I won't be seeing much of anyone. I bid you all a fond farewell.
