The Cruhadi Government would like to extend any and all help it can give to Marklund, but for the safety of Cruhad, all traffic between Marklund and Cruhad has been ordered to cease to prevent outbreaks in Cruhad.

The Peoples Republic of Conistonia declares it's boarders closed to all incoming traffic until further notice. Also, police and military personal are sweeping the nation in an effort to make sure that the plague is not being spread by terrorists within the countries boarders.

Further, all foreign embassies and embassy personal have been put into quarentine. Conistonia assures their governments that the quarentine will be lifted as soon as we are sure that noone carries the plague.

The Ossipean government demands that Marklund be quarrantined until this plague has run its course. We can not risk it spreading throughout the region like wildfire. We are not only closing our borders to all who don't submit to both a full body cavity search, (terrorists), or testing in order to ascertain whether they are infected or not. Anyone found to be infected while attempting to cross the Ossipean borders will be terminated.

Again, we can NOT have this plague spreading, and will, with approval of the Council, put troops quarrantining Marklund. We will put our troops in danger to protect our region, but we do not expect anyone else to join us and put their armies at risk as well. The Ossipeean troops that are proposed to go in are equpped with full Biohazard suits, and await only the word of the Menotomian Council.

In the interests of the Eschatonic people and their most blessed corperate alliegences we have decided to institute our own state of quaritine.
The troops stationed at the Marklundian border have been ordered to follow Little Ossipee's example and halt any and all peoples attempted to enter our territory. They will be warned to head back or be fired upon. We will not risk our citizens and workers.
We strongly suggest all nations follow suit.

New Menotomy is temporarily closing it's boarders to anyone who has passed through either Marklund of Juthopia in the last month. It is quarantining the embassies of said countries until further notice. New Menotomy also strongly condemns the actions taken by the Juthopian government in the "Flight 813 Incident." The murder of innocent civilians, no matter what the situation is never acceptable.

Juthopia assures that the "Flight 813" was justifiable. Juthopia is also disappointed that our travelers have been banned from New Menotomy, as one case has been identified in Juthopian territory and it is not going to spread. Juthopia has also discouraged travelers from going to Marklund; however, we do allow people from Marklund to enter Juthopia. They are quarantined individually until a blood test has come up negative.

It is also quarantining the Marklund embassy until all occupants have passed a blood test. We as a country our very concerned with this outbreak and in addition to lending our support in preventing its spread, we are setting scientists hard to work in order to discover a cure for this horrible plague.

We regret to inform the international community of a few lethal facts about the new strain of Spon Plague. After the first few casualties we sent samples of the organsim to our labs. After constant research over the past few days our expert scientists came to the conclusion that the incubation period is at least 6 As if this wasn't bad enough, we found that is airborn and therefore highly contagious. After being alerted to this knowledge, our intelligence agency began to perform some calculations and found that accounting for where those who already died worked, and who they had contact with, it is likely that nearly every nation in Menotomy has had some exposure to spon plague. Our scientists are now working night and day on a cure.

Oltramar has closed it borders to anyone wishing to come through, and the Military is scouring the nation for anyone that seems to be suffering from this Plague. If the are found, and after testing, proven to have the disease, they are killed.

Juthopia disapproves of Oltramar's actions, as quarantine is capable of isolating plagued civilians and prevents cold-blooded murder. The Flight 813 Incident was difficult to prevent because of the dangers of plagued civilians landed at an airport large enough to handle landing a Joeing 474. Juthopia hopes that this merciless killing of all suspected infects is changed to a policy of quarantine. If this action is not taken, Juthopia will take action.

We support the Oltramarian right to protect it's people. After all, a supposed carrier was on board that plane that the Juthopians mercilessly shot down. Those were uninfected citizens, and the plane was shot down because one man may have had something bad to eat on the flight. After all, we all know how horrendous the food is aboard the Joeings.

If action is taken that is antagonistic in ANY way, violating Oltramar's rights to protect it's citizens that are uninfected with this plague, Ossipee will respond in like action. Our troops are also awaiting the council's decision on a full enforced quarrantine of Marklund.

There have been no cases of the Spon Plague in Ossipee as of yet, although many people have been destroyed at the borders. All international planes heading into Ossipee have been refeuled and sent back to the nation of origin. We pray, (in secret), for the souls of those uninfected people aboard Flight 813, and condemn Juthopia for needlessly wasting human resour.... *ahem* lives.

We would like to ask how Juthopia can threaten Oltramar for killing its infected citizens after killing its own? We should try to find a cure instead of creating tensions between nations. Cruhad will stand by its ally in this.

Also, a bill has been passed proposing a 30 million dollar aid package be sent to Marklund to help victims and discover a cure. May God save us in these trouble times.

Juthopia's state-of-the-art medical facilities are hard at work for a cure for the plague. As for the Flight 813 incident, shooting it down was the last possibility for preventing the spreading of the plague. As everyone knows, Joeing 474's are massive aircraft and can only be supported at large runways, which are only found at major airports. The option of a forced landing was ruled out; Juthopia Air affirmed that the possibility of a successful landing in the Camden countryside is nil and would have only caused ground fires upon impact. Juthopia is not proud of shooting down the plane; we only acknowledge its necessity.
As for our condemnation of Oltramar's policies, we only believe that, as long as their disease does not spread, the victims should be able to choose their death as long as it does not have other consequences. Juthopia recommends quarantine as a way of isolating the plague. Also, killing does not prevent infection unless the bodies are burned, which is a massive violation of the corpses.

Juthopia, you have your way of dealing with problems, we have ours. Killing those known to be infected is a way of preventing any suffering. We also keep the bodies in high security labs, so that the disease does not spread even after death. Quarantine simply leaves the sick alone and suffering. At least we are trying to save those that aren't infected, necessity or not.

Due to the dangerous lethality of the Spon Plague, Ossipeean scientists are eager to obtain a sample of it in order to study it to create vaccines, and learn how it is spread, etc. Luckly, one of the many contestants for "Who wants to be an Immigrant" has tested positive, and we are now have him in a fully contained cell, watching and studying the effects of the Spon Plague.

Because of this one man's valiant sacrifice, we will learn how to better treat this plague, and maybe even learn a way to cure it. His name, (no one can pronounce it, so we'll call him "Bob Smith"), will go down in the records as helping the fight against the Spon Plague. Bob will be forever honored.

The Empire of Wyczestr is proud to report no cases of Spon Plague as of yet, thanks to the fact that our borders are among the most carefully monitored in the region, and our airlines have thorough screening policies in place. We are, however, taking measures to prepare for the possibility of an outbreak, such as establishing testing stations and providing emergency personell with protective equipment. Additionally, we support Oltramar's right to deal with the problem as it sees fit. The Spon Plague has proven to be fatal, and experience has shown that the only thing more dangerous than a contagious disease that kills quickly is one that kills slowly.

Shouldn't the choice of how to die be decided by those who are sick, not the government, as long as that choice does not affect others?

OOC: It is highly unlikely that the virus breached into Cosmic Provinces at this time.

As the Juthopia Air Transportation Commission (JATC) has reported earlier, no airport with the capabilities of landing a Joeing 474 could be locked down for safe unloading of passengers and cargo without infecting the entire airport. The JATC has information about every parcel of land that is classified as an airport, airstrip, or possibly an emergency airstrip. Because the Joeing 474 is a massive airplane, only Juthopia City Int'l Airport, Delta City Nat'l Airport, Delta City Regional Int'l Airport, Camden Int'l Airport, Auburnmouth Int'l Airport, Sussex Nat'l Airport, and Tinsdale Lakes Nat'l Airport can handle landing such an aircraft. But, all of the aforementioned airports control astronomical levels of passenger and cargo exchange, and an emergency lockdown would have a catastrophic effect on Menotomic air transportation for days afterward. Therefore, shooting the airplane down was the only possibility to slow the spread of spon plague throughout the region. Juthopia Air pledges that it will compensate for the families' losses; however, this bill has yet to be put in front of Parliament, and no sum of money would compensate for the losses.

Our death toll has now reached 500. Fortunately, the death rate peaked yesterday and has begun to decline. No cure is yet in sight although we are learning a great deal about the spon plague. We appreciate Cruhad's offer although we must decline it since your monetary system has little meaning in our nation and we are not constrained by resources of that nature. We do however have a draft proposal for the OSM.

Plague Research and Combat Bill

With the outbreak of Spon Plague in the region it is obvious that a regionwide effort to combat threats of this nature is necessary.

We, the OSM, do hereby resolve to do the following:
-Establish PRaCO (Plague Research and Combat Organization)
(PRaCO will be a group of scientists supplied from all member nations whose job will be to work together to discover diseases and figure out how to cure them. PRaCO will be funded by a joint effort by all member nations.)
-Supply Scientists to contribute to PRaCO
-Supply Funding for PRaCO

Lastly, we have some non-plague related announcements for the region. We are now Guaranteeing the Independance of Cosmic Provinces in addition to all our previous alliances and Guarantees of Independance.

Cruhad would like to support the formation of PRaCO in preventing and fighting catastrophes like this one. A group of scientists from El-Hattal University have already volunteered to contribute. Let us pray that the epidemic can be stopped.

Juthopia pledges funds to PRaCO; however, Parliament has yet to decide how much money to pledge. Juthopia desires to send its scientists, but our chief epidemiologists are occupied at their research hub at Juthopia City Institute of Technology, and they have reported that they are near a breakthrough, as they have uncovered the spon plague genome. Juthopia has considered modifying the spon plague genome so that it would not be able to stick to the interior of the trachea, and therefore would not be able to do any damage or spread.This research is still in progress and we would be glad to share our discoveries; however, our scientists have said that they would rather remain in Juthopia City, because that is where the cultures of the spon plague are that they have been testing on.

Oltramar would like to show its support for PRaCO, and is willing to put forth 50 of our finest scientists to help find a cure through PRaCO. We already have men and women working long hours in thier laboratories, striving to find a cure.

A team at MMU labs, headed by Professor Falala Licorish, has produced a cure to the deadly Spon Plague! The government of New Menotomy immediatly agreed to subsuduze the pill for any New Menotomy citizens who wish to purchace it, and will also make it available at normal price to anyone government in the reigon who wishes to buy it. All travel restrictions are liffted effective immediatly.

The MMU lab scientists have contacted the Juthopia City Institute of Technology scientists about the chemical structure of their cure. They, in turn, have deduced how to mass-produce the chemical, which is a new isomer of potassium trichloroglycerate-stearide. It has been sent to the Juthopia Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. It is expected to reach shelves within 24 hours.

We also ask you to grant our special commission access to the site of debris of the 813 Flight, so that the ashes of those that concern us can be collected and given a proper burial."

Cruhad and the rest of Menotomy can now breathe a collective sigh of relief now that the brilliant scientists at MMU have found a cure. However the news has been somewhat spoiled by the discovery of several Spon Plague cases in North Western Cruhad. An order for the vaccine has been placed. Let us pray that we can stop it before it does too much damage.

October 4, 2004, AEBERSOLD COUNTY: At 8:12 AM, Juthopia Air Flight 813, headed toward Camden International Airport, reported a 34-year-old man with symptoms that did not correspond to any illness known to the flight crew. Delta City International Airport Control Center asked the flight crew if the man had flu-like symptoms, an abnormally high fever, and hearing difficulty, the signature symptoms of the plague. The flight crew was not informed that it was spon plague because of the danger of an insubordinated forced landing in a congested region.
The crew was informed that emergency measures were to be taken about an unknown problem on the plane and they were to continue their route to Camden. Five of Juthopia's Hurricane fighters left from Camden to intercept the Joeing 474. The plane was shot down with four Fireswarm missiles at 18°19'34"S, 34°54'9"W, approximately 74 miles NW of Camden, over Aebersold County, an extremely mountainous, snowy, and cold region that has the same population density of humans as the open ocean. The flight commanders of the Hurricane squadron radioed in that they had completed the mission, and soon after, Page McConnell made a press release about the incident.

Oltramar has placed its orders in, and are anxiously awaiting its arrival. We may now rest that no more have to die due to this plague.

Little Ossipee has preserved several variant strains of the plague for further research, and also are ordering a small amount of this supposed cure-all for the plague. Before it is put on Ossipeean shelves, which there is no reason to anyways, seeing how everyone that tried to enter the country while infected was shot, used for experimentation, or liquidated.

The cure will still go onto the shelves for after the opening of the Ossipeean borders, which will be in several more days. After all, we wouldn't want the Ossipeean citizens succumb to some other unknown side-effect of the cure without knowledge of the risks. We are afraid that Juthopian quality control isn't up to Ossipeean standards, and will inform the international community of our findings.

In response to reports of the Spon plague, Doomotopia's broders are officially closed. All convoys, private citizens, military personnel, or other outsiders will be destroyed/shot on sight. Please inform your citizens.

This is to keep any of those filthy foreigners from infecting my populace, you know, the ones not cured yet, and the whole variant strain thing doesn't make my populace feel very safe.

The arrival of the Juthopian test vials have arrived in Little Ossipee, after going through a severe decontamination system to remove any and all outside bacterium. Ossipeean scientists are administering the drug to mice infected with the plague, as well as chimpanzees. The results of the tests wil lbe made public once all the scientists concur on the harmlessness of the drug, if that is the case.

In other news, we have noticed that the nation of Eckerd has fallen into anarchy. We respect the rights of these anarchists, and any nation sending in troops to "keep order" will be met with resistance with arms supplied by the Ossipeean government.

Juthopia also strongly disagrees with sending military force into what used to be Eckerd, as was the case during the trading post conflict, although to a lesser extent. Any nation sending troops to restore order will be met with fierce diplomatic isolation and trade barriers.

A convoy of vaccine being transported to various nations have been hijacked. the quantities in possession of The vile stickups is unclear, but they seem to have now switched gears to disease warfare. Additional rumors have begun to swirl that this rogue group has begun to develop a resistent form of Spon Plague.

Juthopia is confident that Lemonade Stickups is completely bluffing, because it is scientifically impossible to mutate the DNA of an unmapped genome of a virus without destroying its vital functions. Nevertheless, Juthopian scientists are at work to modify the antibiotic so that it will be treated as an independent compound versus the previous antibiotic. This will result in the supposed "resistant strain" being susceptible to another antibiotic.

*John Marison, the Ossipeean director of science and medicine takes the podium*

After studying the supposed cure for less than a day, Ossipeean scientists have already found a severe threat to the safety to the entire region. Apparently, potassium trichloroglycerate-stearide affects the brain in such a way that, within months, the person that is infected with the virus that is administered this drug goes completely and utterly insane. We're not talking "Ooooh, look at the pretty bird" insane, we are talking REALLY freakin' insane, such as "The bird! It's a government assasination mechanism! Must destroy EVERYTHING!" type of insanity. Albeit, the bird was in fact a mechanical replica, but that's beside the point. We strongly urge an absolute ban on said drug, and pray for those for which it is too late.

Our scientists are working hard on a cure that will do what it is supposed to do, without the wonky side effects, although we are contemplating giving the drug to our soldiers, and directing them at the Stickups. It's so crazy, it might just work.....

Thanks to much support from PRaCO the Marklundian labs have made a few important discoveries. Although we do not have a cure for the plague. The first discovery is that the plague is a two step process involving two organisms. The first is the virus which the current cure attacks. During the first six months this virus duplicates within the cells. It slowly spreads out across much of the human body. The second oraganism is a bacteria which grows slowly and can only gain access to the cells once they have been mutated by the virus. What we've found is that if the virus is incapacitated then the bacteria affects the one area it can still attack, the brain. Although this happens normally, it is not noticed because the host dies before the brain is damaged to this extent. A cure will need to incapacitate both organisms in order to stop spon plague.
In addition, we have discovered that when a certain chemical compound is applied to the bateria, they glow under ultraviolet light. Using this knowledge we can discover quickly whether as person is infected or not. Unfortunately, the test is only effective once the organisms are sufficiently concentrated, a point often reached after the fourth month of infestation. We have made the process for creating the compound public and all nations can use that knowledge if they wish.
We hope to find a full cure soon but we do not believe that is likely.
Lastly, we have some non plague related things to say. First, we will oppose any nation who attempts to restore order in their own image to the Eckered area. It must remain untouched so that the people there can settle on a government of their choosing.

Our nation is still in full isolation, blocking all people that could possibly be infected from entering our nation, including those soldiers currently stationed in Bushi Mon. We regret the need to extend their service, but I am sure they understand, they don't want to accidentally infect loved ones, and such.

The government has offered a one hundred million bottle of beer award for the first Ossipeean scientist to manufacture a full cure to the plague. The scientists will be given test subjects that are randomlyy picked up trying to cross the Ossipeean border, and we have also commenced a program to infect serious criminals with the plague, in order to put them to a good use. They should feel proud, dying to help the greater good.

DELTA CITY, October 23, 2004: The Oltramari Embassy was destroyed earlier this morning when a rented truck filled with high-caliber explosives was detonated in front of the building when a police officer asked the driver to leave, as it was a emergency vehicle lane. The building collapsed, and the casualties are unknown. The Nationalist Party (who recently lost in the election and many of the members were arrested during a riot) claimed responsibility for the attacks, citing Oltramari policies with spon plague and their current national policies toward civil rights as cause for the attack. The Populist Party, currently in power, denounced the attacks, and are keeping a close eye on Camden Province, where the Nationalist Party is based, and the current representatives in Parliament from the Nationalist Party. The Juthopia Intelligence Agency is hunting down those who masterminded the attack, as not all Nationalists are criminals in this attack. Premier Dave Wellington said that "he did not want this attack to come between Juthopia and Oltramar's peaceful relations."

ic-Citizens in Oltramar have taken a great dislike for all Juthopians, and anyone even partially Juthopian in decent are being looked down upon. The Emperor has stated that this behavior is not being pushed by the government. Yet.

A small force of troops is gathering near the border of Oltramar and Juthopia, and any small threat made towards Oltramar will be considered an act of war. Destruction of an emmbasy, murder of Oltramarians, and disobeying an officer(he did ask him to move.), it is too much. Even if it was only one small faction within Juthopia, it is imposible to know who is what when their life is on the line, thus a show of force will be nescesarry if the need arises.

ooc again-I've probably made no sense at all in this post, please yell at me if i need to clarify my ramblings.

ooc - you do know that this is a minority unarmed faction and that mobilizing against a civil conflict when the country itself hasn't mobilized is going to confuse the international community, and may be received as an act of war? ic-A small force of troops are forming up near the border of Oltramar and Juthopia. We are getting ready to strike in against your Nationalists, as soon as you allow us entrance, and provide us with a breif answer to who we would be going for, because most people won't tell us they are nationalists if we are holding a gun to their heads and asking them.

The Imperial Government of Wyczestr condemns the attack on Oltramar's embassy, and holds Juthopia responsible for allowing international terrorists safe haven on their soil and allowing a radical militant faction to hold political power. We urge the Juthopian Governent to take clear and effective measures to eliminate the militant wing of the nationalist party. However, we also recommend that Oltramar refrain from any provocative action and permit Juthopia to deal with the matter as an internal one.

Juthopia disagrees with Wyzcestr's comment about political parties; although Juthopia's political system is in desperate need of its upcoming reform, we believe in the people's right to show their views through a political party, no matter how radical. However, Juthopia has recently destroyed a Nationalist weapons warehouse and we are hard at work to destroy the military wing of the Nationalist party. Recently, a Nationalist subordinate has shot the Nationalist Party leader Walter Richelieu, and, after a quorum was reached, Jeffrey Holdsworth, a more centrist politician, has been elected the new chairman. Oltramar's access to Camden Province has been granted; however, we expect these forces to abide by Juthopian law and our generals' orders.

The Juthopian Army has recently ambushed and seized seven Nationalist weapons stockpiles, and the JIA has also captured and confirmed that Marc Daubert, the long-suspected coordinator of Nationalist weapons activities, is in fact behind the bombings and is now in custody. Juthopia expects Nationalist uprisings and attacks to decrease in number, and Juthopia requests Oltramar's removal of its forces from Juthopia, as they are no longer needed.

Juthopia also expects other nations not to interfere with the anarchy in Burgia and Arealia, as the people should have the right to create their own government, or proceed with the absence of a government.

The government of Conistonia calls for a meeting of the OSM to discuss deploying a peacekeeping force to the chaos ridden areas of Burgia and Arealia until order and stable government can be restored. Allowing these areas to "proceed with the absence of a government" as Juthopia suggests is extremely dangerous to international stability. These lands will act as a safe haven for criminals and terrorists fleeing prosecution. They are a danger to international stability. Furthermore, the Burgians and Arealians deserve the protection afforded by a stable government. Until order is established the people will continue to be subject to the whim of the strongest of their neighbors. This is a dangerous situation for international stability, and can lead to a tyranny, or a collection of warlords ruling. No one wants this outcome, least of all the peace-loving citizens of these areas. The international community must intervene until stable government is re-established.

Marklund agrees that a meeting of the OSM be convened. We are open to suggestions at to the date, time, and location.

Cruhad will meet in an OSM meeting and does agree there is a need for peacekeepers. We will not, however, issue an apology to Juthopia. Before they finally cracked down, they had a "Crippling" crime rate and was rated one of the least safe nations. Juthopia's progressive criminal rehabilitation center has opened several new branches, which accounts for her low crime rate. Not all nations are perfect, Cruhad, and, before these branches were opened, we had a minor crime issue. Cruhad has its lack of social welfare. These are just the imperfections that must occur to have a stable nation.

As for Burgia and Arealia, it is not our right to impose a government that we see as fit on nations that have never declared themselves subject to our rule at any point in time. Who are we to decide who rules these territories? Unless we can conduct a mass plebiscite, this is unfeasible. However, I will attend this meeting, whenever we schedule it.

OOC - sunday's out and i'm busy saturday morning and early afternoon. Is saturday evening ok?

I don't usually use this as a forum to urge the UN deligates from our region to vote one way or another, but this latest resolution is so absurd that I feel the need to call it to the attention of the other UN members in our region to try to assure that it doesn't pass.

The resolution calls for the complete nuclear disarmament of all UN nations. While getting rid of WMDs is an admirable goal, this is not a practical way to go about doing so. If the UN were to ban nuclear weapons, that would not rid the world of them; it would simply mean that the countries that did have nuclear weapons would be non-UN nations. I.e. nations who could not be held accountable for their use of the weapons. This would leave all the UN nations at the mercy of these nuclear-armed rogue nations. This is unacceptable.

Ok, assuming that banning nuclear weapons was a good idea, instead of pure idiocy, there are still some fundamental flaws in this resolution that would warrant a "No" vote.

1. 5 years is an unreasonably short time to dismantle a nuclear arsenal, especially for nations that have been stockpiling weapons for a long time.

2. The resolution dictates that the governments use the money designated for nuclear weapons programs to dismantle the weapons. The UN has no business telling us how to spend our money. If we want to dismantle our weapons, we can decide how to pay for it.

3. "The UN reserves the right to verify the happened disarmament and to endorse the nations that will not respect the terms of this resolution. "
That might be one of the most convoluted sentences in history, but if I read it right, it means that the UN would endorse nations who do not disarm. Last I checked, endorsing something was a good thing, but maybe the meaning has changed. Let me check...

November 9, 2004- DELTA CITY, JUTHOPIA: An ancient trading vessel was discovered off of the Delta, in the Great Bay, at around 2 miles below the surface. It is suspected to be 6,000 years old, and bears ancient Juthopian characters. Nickel ore and cedar were found on board, leading the discovering party to believe that it was going from the Marklund shores to Juthopia, because cedar is found in the Juthopian uplands and nickel is found on the caves on the Marklundian coast. The Juthopian government requests international approval to conduct a major investigation; however, because of a typhoon that is entering the region, if a sufficient quorum on the topic is not reached within 24 hours, the government reserves the right to examine the wreck so that its site will not be lost.

CITADEL ISLAND, JUTHOPIA- November 11, 2004: The large trading vessel was air-sealed and pumped to the surface, and was carefully towed to this harbor island 5 miles from the border with Marklund, split in half by a border police station on the international highway. Linguists have discerned the text along the hull of the boat, reading "In Mithras We Believe", the name of a suspected god. Scorch marks in the hull revealed traces of a primitive concoction of saltpeter and another unknown substance, leading the researchers believe the vessel was caught in the midst of a battle, or possibly participating in it, although no weapons were found on board. The artifacts on the boat will travel to the Juthopian National History Museum in Juthopia City until Marklund expresses a desire to house some of the artifacts in their museums, while the boat is still being studied on Citadel Island. The Premier commented, "I am glad we are uncovering so much about Juthopia's culture and history."

Faced with a stagnating economy and massive population growth, the Imperial Government of Wyczestr has announced new measures to be undertaken for the purpose of creating jobs. A major industrialization programme has begun in the remote northern provence of Eenstedt. Minister of Economics, Edmund Dunkel announced last week that ten new state-funded logging camps, five oil drilling facilities, and five steel factories would be established in the formerly untouched forests of the Eenstedt peninsula, hopefully creating thousands of new jobs and exploiting previously untouched resources. Construction has begun already in several locations on the northern peninsula. Constructruction workers in Haatsdorp, the capital of Eenstedt province were met by native protesters, who claimed that the industrialization project was an attempt to wipe out their local way of life. The people of the Eensted have subsisted off of hunting, fishing, and small farming for hundreds of years. The protesters were convinced to peacefully disperse by units of Wyczestr's Imperial State Police. In a press statement, Edmund Dunkel asserted his confidence that "the state's industrialization program will be beneficial to ALL Wyczestrians" and that "the traditions of a few can not take precedence over the livelihood of the many".

Juthopian air patrols have detected enriched uranium emissions from the Burgian countryside. These tests are rarely inaccurate, and we request international approval to go in and investigate and remove nuclear weaponry if it is present. We will not interfere with whatever governmental system they have, or lack of one. This operation will be conducted as peacefully as possible, but the troops will use force if necessary to remove these threats. Once again, we request a majority in favor of this mission to conduct it, unless there is insufficient response (fewer than 3 nations), during which Juthopia would enter regardless. If this is approved, 3 Special Forces divisions would land by water, and 4 would enter by helicopter, with helicopter and other Air Force aid used to detect the exact location of this threat.

In other news, the Holy Empire of Oltramar has begun its work towards going out into the galaxy (No, I haven't gotten an issue about going far off into space, but its fun to do anyway!) And in honor of their love for The Emperor of Oltramar, the citizens have graciously begun working on a large statue of him in all his splendor.(Also no issue, but its also fun.)

The Emperor has gone out of his way to say that he did not have special agents palce the seed of this idea into society.

While the Imperial Government of Wyczestr agrees that steps must be taken to stabilize Burgia, we roundly condemn Juthopia's proposal of a unilateral military solution. As no news agency or government exists in Burgia, it is impossible for us to know for certain the cause of these emissions. Furthermore, an invasion by Burgia's historical enemy Juthopia would be seen as completely illegitimate by the people of Burgia, and could increase tensions and violence in that already unstable country. Wyczestr proposes that a multinational expeditionary force be sent into Burgia to investigate the situation and negotiate with whoever is operating the reactor that the Juthopians have reported. The threat of force should not be used until the potential threat in Burgia has been assessed.

Juthopia agrees with Wyzcestr's proposal; however, Juthopia's proposal is relatively similar, because, as aforementioned, our special forces will diplomatically reach the region at question, although military force would be used if necessary. The apparent instability in the region rarely bodes well for a nuclear reactor, and if it is not a nuclear reactor, it rarely bodes well in any situation. On a side note, Burgia declared war on Juthopia without any pretenses, and they ended the conflict as well. This is hardly a "historical enemy" situation. However, time is short, and Juthopia is willing to form a coalition with Wyczestr to investigate this situation if all other nations turn a blind eye to this imminent threat.

The Imperial Government accepts Juthopia's offer. This morning the Parliament of Wyczestr voted to allocate 50 million crowns to reconstruction and stabilization in Burgia. Wyczestr's contribution will include a diplomatic team headed by Imperial Advisor for Foreign Affairs Oliver Reicher, 200 Red Cross personnel, a team of nuclear scientists and technicians to disassemble the alleged reactor (unless it's purpose is found to be strictly civillian, in which case Wyczestr would offer a hand in keeping it up to international safety standards), a military police division, and one special operations division of the Imperial Army. Our declared goals in Burgia are as follows:

1. Identify the source of nuclear emissions detected by Juthopia, and take measures to assure the safety of Menotomy in general, and the people of Burgia in particular.

2. Provide medical and food aid to the people of Burgia.

3. Assess the political situation in Burgia, with the goal of forming a coalition within Burgia to reestablish that nation's statehood and ending the state of anarchy that currently exists.

We will wait for Juthopia to ratify, amend, or add to this mission statement, recognizing that a consensus must be reached prior to the commencement of operations in Burgia.

We request the assistance of the other nations of Menotomy, and would remind them that the threat of nuclear proliferation effects the entire region.

Juthopia will match Wyczestr's allocated personnel; however, we will escort these with the 105th Juthopian infantry division. We will ratify this proposition with one minor change: we will only change their current governmental situation if it threatens anyone within the nation. If their current government adequately represents the opinions of the populace, we would be willing to help them improve their government, and give them enough funding and support to restabilize their nation. Although this may seem contradictory to Juthopia's earlier stance, we only wanted to make sure that we were not putting power into the wrong hands, or putting a minority in control over a majority, which would lead to rebellion and anti-government sentiment, which would transform into sentiment against the nations who set up this government.

Vorinosh Tecker (Official Voice of the People of Marklund), all members of the National Council, and all members of the High Court have been determined to be corrupt and have been manipulating the polling stations since Tecker's victory over Parokif Kellanit some time ago. They quickly set up a network which breached the securities built into each station and were able to change votes. One representative at a time, he created a National Council and High Court fully in support of himself. The State Press, whose job it is to observe the actions of these officials for maximum accountability did not find out about these actions until just recently. Tecker and his supporters have fled to Little Ossipee where the Emperor granted them asylum. There are approximately 50,000 of these exiles, ranging from Tecker himself, to soldiers and common workers. Marklund itself is now in a state of anarchy as well.

Little Ossipee is quoted as saying "We will take anyone that has tried to help bring down the socialist government of Marklund into protection. We will protect and defend the rights of said people, while decrying the horrible election fraud in the country that these refugees were able to commit." The Emporer himself said "I told them that the easiest way would just make the ballots... *Ahem* Marklund's vulnerablity to such a fraud certainly should bring to attention the problem with such a government. Elections? They just confuse the peons. They'd rather you tell them what to do, instead of the other way around."

The refugees are being held in containment until testing for such diseases as Spon Plague, which ran rampant in Marklund just a little while ago. On this subject, the Emporer also was quoted as saying "Figures... dirty hippies".

"The refugees will be allowed to come and go as they please, but any demand to return them to Marklund, or to hold them accountable will be met with force. The Ossipeean military will defend these people, and stand up for what they were trying to do, be more like Ossipee. Who could blame them for that?"

In other news, troops are mobilizing on the former border with Burgia, in case of any attacks were to happen from the collapsed government's soldiers.

As of this moment, troops are advancing into the former nation of Burgia, in order to help establish a compound for the exiled Marklundians, so they can run their lives in the capitalistic fashion that all nations should. The compound will be constructed near the former city of Bugberg, because of the prime real estate prices and because of the port that had been constructed before. The compound will be built on abandoned land, possibly a former military base, and defended by Ossipeean troops until the colony of Good Mark is sufficently able to defend itself.

The Emporer said this in relation to the colony. "I mean, yeah, they're good people, but they are still Marklunders, (albeit good ones, but still.... Marklunders... *shudder*), and should deserve their own government, and I'm not giving up any land..."

500,000 troops are being sent with the Marklundian exiles in order to make sure that bands such as the Stickups, which have been gaining influence in the chaotic region that is former Burgia, and any other underhand tactics.

After a long period of inexplicable diplomatic silence the Eschaton has restablished contact with its fellow nations via its embassies. The precise reason for the long absence from the regional stage is unclear at this juncture, but it may be possible to infer somewhat from the current political situation. The Twenty-three, while still intact and in firm control of the nation through a blend of rigid security and propoganda, has suffered a certain degree of upheaval. Former First Chair and CEO of Gottblitz Corp., Hienrich Knecht, no longer holds his position, either in the company or the political structure. In political exile, Knecht has been replaced by the younger Kurt Blume as CEO of Gottblitz, and now holds the Second Chair, beneath the returning First Chair Deter Wolfgang of the again preeminent Immenaton Corp..
In a general statement, Third Chair Otto Wilkens of Überschreiten Inc., declared that a considerable portion of Gottblitz's assets would be available for purchase by foreign powers, including five armour divisions, five squadrons of Wolkekrieger interceptor jets and various transportation helicoptors. All interested parties should contact the Eschatonic embassy at once.

With the announcement of it's next Orbital Weapons Platform, the Emperor of Oltramar would like to announce how his newly reorganized military is set up.

The main part of the Oltramarian military is the Imperial Guard. It is arranged in a platoon format. Easy enough.

Password protection is a good way to keep people out of the region, and I suggest the banning of Angry and Abled. Jeremy's two nations are OK, but if his second joins the UN, he'll have an advantage of two region votes.

You can't join two nations into the UN so that shouldn't be a problem.

The only nations I would ban right now are Xason, Angry and Abled, and Citadelian. Xason for just entering us into the ADN and then being a jerk about when everyone asked wtf he was doing. Angry and Abled for spamming and being an insulting asshole. If anyone goes he should. and Citadelian for spamming.

These people are obviously not capable of being mature and should be banned ASAP. The other new people have yet to really do anything bad, so I see no reason to ban them.

I feel like i should get some kind of majority before I ban anyone (at least a majority of the veterans). Anyone who wants those two banned let me know either over AIM or through nationstates. Also, anyone who wants them to stay let me know.

How about we all endorse New Menotomy? That way we can get out of the ADN democratically. Afterward, if there are still problems, we can deal with them ;)

Juthopia appeals to regional leaders citing Cosmic Province's intended violation of national rights and sovereignty. Cosmic Provinces has yet to contact Juthopia in its interests to trade for Juthopia's gold deposits. The army is on alert if national security is breached.

Tappings and searchings have led us to belive that one of our tunnels has been discovered. The head of the crew that constructed the tunnel too close to the surface has been placed under a military tribunal. The tunnel was abandoned and hastily sealed, some equipment and sub-tunnels may have remained.
Another tunnel has hit granite and had to take a detour.
The main tunnel, most carefully concealed and guarded, has shown signs of gold ore being present, and three gold nuggets have been unearthed. They have been shipped to the capital and placed in a museum under a label "the illustrious trio".

Military Report
The main tunnel has already yielded some 1,456 kilograms of gold, and major machinery has been installed.
The side tunnel has shown signs of gold sand in the sediment. We continue digging.
Another tunnel that was started to the west of the first one, collapsed. No one was hurt, and all machinery has been dug up. All activity ceased in that area.

The letters I, P, W, N, and U have been freshly melted out of mined gold and sold at a patriotic-Cosmician auction.

Juthopia, noting Cosmician headlines, urges the return of Juthopian gold and the sealing of all tunnels before Juthopia takes military action to defend its territory, rights, and property. The Cosmician Consulate Statement
We are unaware of any property that we have seized from Juthopian territory. We have layed a claim to the underground resource that is not directy assosiated with Juthopia or its territory. This gold deposit is the propery of Cosmic Provinces. The Menotomy map that defines territorial ownership does not mention any ownership of territory several hundred meters below the surface. The beligerent statement by the Juthopian minister is a blatant violation to the individual property of nations. How can Juthopia be claiming that, which does not immediately belong to it?


Military Report
The tunnels have been deepened, widened and troops have been deployed to protect them. They have been defined as strategic Cosmician resources.

The statements made by the Cosmician Consulate seem rather ridiculous. It is obvious that the gold is Juthopian. It was mined from gold deposits within Juthopian borders. This means the gold is Juthopian. Cruhad urges the Consulate to cease its actions before fighting has to occur.

At 0730 on Monday the destroyer RPS Trzetrzelewska was severely damaged by a missle while anchored in Warzkiewapeszt Harbor. 14 sailors were killed. The capitol's trigonometric radar station traced the path of the projectile to two miles South of the harbor entrance. The battleship RPS Zakopana was deployed to snuff out the attacker. Sonar identified a submarine. Depth-charges were dropped and forced the vessel to surface. The sub was flying the ensign of the Cruhadi Navy. All 73 sailors surrendered and were taken aboard while the submarine was reduced to scrap metal by the Zakopana's guns. The Cruhadi sailors are now POWs. The Government of Polska and BaltoSlavia demands a full explanation of the incident by Cruhad if it wishes a safe release of the sailors.

In a recent report by the Oltramarian Military, an upraising has supposedly begun in a town in northern Oltramar by the name of Istvaan. Vladamir Horus reported that his Legion was nearby, and heading to quell the rebellion. Also reported i nthe area were the Children of Oltramar, the Flaming Eagles, the Night Lords, and the Alpha Legion. The Salamanders and the Angels of Death are en route as well, but they are farther off. In other news, neither the Thousand Sons nor the Doom Strikers have reported in any time in the past few days, and the Oltramarian government is begining to worry. Red Magnus was last reported as being in the area of Prospero, a city near the northen Pecunian border. The Wolves of Battle have head towards the city in order to find out why. No word of where the Doom Strikers may be have been heard, though rumors are being said that they have been seen near the Juthopian border. The Oltramariens are busy near the capital fighting an enourmously large horde of Genestealers. Scientists are llooking into what caused this massive increase in the Genestealer poplulation, but current theories are putting blame on pollution.

We agree to allow Polskan and Baltoslavic judges in the trial of the rebel sailors. You were victimized by them and are entitled.

We are saddened by the revolt in Oltramar. Aid is being collected and military assistance is available if the Oltramarian government needs it.

2 Legions have been called up and mobilized. They will try and destroy the entire Cruhadi uprising and hopefully capture the High Clerics.

It is in the utmost interest in Polska and BaltoSlavia to help maintain peace in the region and promote healthy relationships between her allies. Therefore we propose a compromise to this gold-digging issue:

International waters begin at 12 nautical miles from shore. So, international soil should begin at 12 nautical miles under the surface. Any deposits located below the 12-naut mark is free to be mined by any nation, just as any deposits above the mark are the possession of the nation that lies directly above them.

So according to this proposed international soil line, any gold found below the mark belongs to its discoverer (Cosmic Provinces), just as any found above is the possession of Juthopia.

The Salamanders and the Angels of Death have reached Istvaan, and entered the town seeing no signs of rebellion. It wasn't long before they uncovered the true revolt. After a few minutes of being in the deserted town, they were bombarded by artillery fire from the Flaming Eagles, the Night Lords, and the Alpha Legion. They took cover, and managed to mostly survive, but soon the attack began, they were swarmed by the Traitor Legions. The Thousand Sons revealed themselves in a suprise attack on the Wolves of Battle, and things are not faring well there. It is unclear where The Doom Strikers, Children of Oltramar, and Wolves of the Moon are at the current moment. The latter two are presumed dead, having been overtaken by the traitors, for Vladamir Horus was the Emperor's second in command, and an honorable man. The Iron Hands have pulled into the capital city for protection, and the Oltramarines are on the ready to leave the Genestealer threat if nesecary. The Holy Emperor has been too busy dealing with war plans to make any formal announcements.

The Consulate Statement
We do not wish to disturb the peace of Menotomy, therefore we agree to the proposed compromise. The rule comes into effect upon Juthopia's Prime Minister's signature (a Cosmician authorized official has been dispatched to sign it).
Before the 12 nautical mile rule was installed, all water was international. Yesterday all soil, below a reasonable distance, was international (no rule governed it). Therefore we agree to halt all works, remove all equipment, and seal off all tunnels that are located on the territory of Cosmic Provinces. We also agree, upon Juthopian approval to provide the data on unretrieved gold deposit locations, as well as leave the tunnels that are located on Juthopian territory in best condition (tunnel maintainance papers will be passed on too). Since we will not be able to remove all equipment and crews in less than 2 days, and they include military units, we wish to provide certain reparations for holding our troops on Juthopian territory. The exact sum will be determined by Juthopia's opinion, but shall be no greater than the GDP per capita of Cosmic Provinces.

A small revolt was put down last Saturday outside of the capitol building. A large group of Romanian protesters were either shot or arrested after rioting over a heated political issue. The debate began the week before when representatives in the Romanian House of Representatives, located in the Slavic Senate. As many as 14 million people, the people of the Romanian sector located in the Southeast part of Polska-BaltoSlavia, were rabidly requesting a massive change to the nation's identity. Led by a rather hefty, bespectacled man named Vlad Florescu, who presented a music video he called the "Numa-Numa Dance", taken from a song by the Romanian pop group O-zone. It was requested to Romanian delegates that this song be the new national anthem, replacing the "Da,browski Mazurka". The proposal was presented to the Slavic Senate, which also included provinces such as Yugoslavia, Slovakia, and Croatia. By a vote of 72-28 the bill passed and was moved up to the Polish Senate, which had higher authority over the Baltic and Slavic Senates. The bill was immediately rejected by the nationalistic Polaks, calling it "travesty that make ears spewing blood." In response, a group of 500 Romanian nationalists gathered in front of the capitol and staged a revolt. The 107th Marine division was called in the round them up. While most surrendered, about 14 of them were forced to be shot. Their bodies were delivered to Bucharest and thrown onto the steps of the provincial capitol where they still rot. The entire province of Romania is now banned from all exposure to pop music.

Geological analysis of nearby gold deposits not plundered by Cosmic Provinces supports the size and weight identified by Cosmic Provinces newspapers. This gold ore and nuggets is the property which Juthopia seeks. A popular leftie newspaper put the "Polski Musical Massacre" on the front page and many famous citizens of the Cosmic Provinces spoke out against the "inconceivable and inadmissible" event.
More than 10,000 people immediately assembled on the Effulgent Square in the capital of Cosmic Provinces. The song "Dragonstea Din Tei" by Haiducii [OOC: that's the numanuma, Jeremy] was played out of some loudspeakers, and the protestors happily waved linden-tree branches. The crowd doubled by the end of the day.

Three issues involving the regional map:

1) After reviewing the map of the region, I have found something peculiar. Cosmic Provinces does not border Juthopia. So did the tunnelers dig under Exponents and Indoprathika first?

2) There is no map scale, so mileage and square mileage cannot be calculated for countries' sizes and how far out the international waters boundary is.

3) The map needs some serious updating. Xason, Meii, and Strunk-White's territories should be abandonned or claimed. And some nations need to be expanded as there should now be too much unclaimed land.

The PBSGS and the Polski-BaltoSlavic government requests that changes be made by Little Ossipee to satisfy the aforementioned issues.

A report finally finds it's way out of Macragge:

A day after this revolt began, Macragge itself has come under siege. At first it was only the Children of Oltramar, and the Iron Hands quite easily help position and solidly held back the attackers. Then the unthinkable happened, The Emperor's most trusted servant, his second in command, Vladamir Horus, Appeared on the horizon. His legion wore a diferrent scheme of colors than the Wolves of the Moon once had, and they quickly began aiding the Children of Oltramar in their attack. In the battle, it was yelled from the mouths of many that the Wolves of the Moon were no more, as Vladamir slayed warriors all around him, they began chanting that they were now the Son's of Horus. It was apparent that the rebellion was lead by one of The Emperor's most trusted friends. The Oltramarines began falling back to the Capital, but immidietly met resistance in the form of Matthew Angrin and his Devourers. All across Oltramar loyal legions who were attempting to reach Macragge to help defend the Holy City began meeting resistance from the TRaitor legions.

In a recent report, it was announced that the legions that have turned against the Emperor are:
The Flaming Eagles, the Children of Oltramar, the Iron Soldiers, the Night Lords, the Devourers, the Guards of Death, the Wolves of the Moon(now the Sons of Horus), The Thousand Sons, and the Alpha Legion.

It is unsure which side the Angels of Darkness are currently supporting, for they have not reported in from their stronghold in the far west. They are assumedly either on their way to Macragge, or sitting within their strong hold, not doing their duty to protect the Emperor. The Angels of Death succesfully broke free of the attack on them and the Salamanders, after annihilating the Flaming Eagles, leaving none alive. The Salamanders vowed to fight to the last man if need be, and held the Alpha LEgion and the Night Lords in Istvaan so that Tomhas Sanguine could bring his legion to Macragge.

The Doom Strikers have revealed themselves, though not in a very good way. The legion was spotted right on the juthopian border, chanting an ancient saying which translates roughly to "Life or Death, we will be victorious!" And then they charged for into Juthopia.

The Emperor requests aide from any nation that is able, for things look grim in the Nation of Oltramar.

The Royal Polish Navy's 7th fleet is available for any naval assistance. The RPN can provide a blockade of the Oltramarian coast in order to prevent the rebels from escaping or entering your ports. If you request our assistance, a floatilla of naval vessels will be on station by your coast and be in position to blockade it. Among the vessels include the battleships RPS Krakow, RPS Dabrowski, and RPS Vystula, fifteen destroyers, fifty torpedo boats, and five nuclear submarines. Any ships attempting to run the blockade will be hailed and their IFF confirmed before they can pass (if hostile they will be ordered to surrender or be sunk).

The 7th fleet has been mobilized and will arrive in three days after your requesting their help.

A further 100,000 troops are being mobilized in reponse to the distress call by our ally Oltramar. These troops should be ready and on the way to rescue embattled Macragge within a few days. Although the Cruhadi people are tired of war, we cannot allow our trusted ally to be overrun.

On the front of the Cruhadi rebellion it is going well. The massive artillery barrages into the rebel cities has taken it's toll. Nikolai Adamos himself has surrendered, as well as two of the other clerics, but the other 6 vow to fight on. They have retreated into the neutral territory to the north of Cruhad. "We will pursue these bastards to the ends of the earth if need be" said 5 crescent general Kambiz Mushareff during a public statement today.

Little Ossipeean troops are making their way, doubletime to Macragge, suprisingly fast. If anyone were to plot their speed and direction, they w9ould have noticed some very strange anomalies from that data, seeming as if they had come straight out of the central plains of the former nation of Pecunian than from Little Ossipee. But no one would really care about that, unless they didn't want troops to be supplied to Oltramar. The Emporer has been quoted as stating "The Oltramarian people spoke when they decided on their rulers. The people with the guns should follow orders, nothing more."

He then used this statement, and the compusory gun laws in order to solidify his death grip on his own nation. The troops should make entry to Oltramar within the next few days, wher ethey will head to contact the ruling government to ask where assistance is needed.

The troops from the New Menotomean reagion have been able t odo nothing in this recent conflict, due to lack of a surplus of troops, and distance constraints.

The Emperor of Oltramar has contacted the Archpontiff, the highest power of Polska-BaltoSlavia's Catholic Cathedralist government. He welcomes the 7th fleet of the RPN to his waters to form a naval blockade to cut off rebel supply lines. Our warships will be in position within three days.

We acknowledge and support Cruhad's military ambitions in securing the Oltramarian sector, but due to past incidents the Cruhadi navy is prohibited from sailing in Oltramarian waters while our naval blockade is in place. Any foreign vessels that wish to sail the Southern Sea must remain beyond the 12-nautical mile international water mark. We apologize for any inconveniences this may bring, but for security reasons we must enforce this policy. When the Civil War ends, the 7th fleet will withdraw and Oltramar's authority over its waters will be restored.

Oltramar accepts and thanks any and all help from other nations. The Angels of Death have reported they are almost at Macragge, and will join the fight at the gates soon. The Iron Hands are barely keeping the gate's protected, and were joyous to hear that Sanguine was almost there. The Salamanders, however, are running low on time. The Almighty Emperor has sent messages through to the coming Little Ossipeans, asking them to head directly towards Istvaan to aid in the battle there.

Small cults of these traitors, now being deemed heretics by the Holy Church of the Emperor, are sprouting minor rebellions all around Oltramar, but the IMperial Guard forces are easily quelling these in a most vicous manner. The Emperor himself is reading to enter the fray himself. He has promised to meet Thomas Sanguine and Frank Manus on on the field of battle, and to head forwards and strike into the heart of the enemy troops.

Again, we thank all nations sending troops to help us stop this heresy, and hope that Juthopia has little trouble with the invading forces.

This morning a convoy of airborne troops and military police departed from the Schannenburg Imperial Airbase to support Oltramar's Loyalist forces in Istvaan province. The Parliament is currently preparing to pass a bill which would put aside 80 million crowns to fund peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations within Oltramar for as long as the government of that nation should require our assistance.

The Cruhadi army has reached the border of Oltrmar and has crossed over. Things have been going smoothly as of yet, and we have yet to meet the rebels.

On the other front things have taken a turn for the worse. After crossing over the border into the Neutralian teritory, our troops came under heavy fire. Apparently, the high clerics have gained popularitary among the anarchic states of the fallen countries. Both legions have fallen back into Cruhadi territory.

We would also like to remind Polska and Baltoslavia, that their threats have no sway over the movement of our armed forces.

The vote for the change was virtually unanimous as 92% of the population is Catholic (the other 8% are other forms of Christianity, mainly Orthodox, but all non-Catholics are prohibited to vote or hold public office). The 8th Airbourne Luftsabteilung Division began counterinsurgency operations in Istvaan province today, after landing in Macragge and establishing a headquarters several days ago in Government controlled territory. The Division airdropped this morning into Salamander controlled areas of Istvaan to resupply the loyalist forces with artillery shells, ammunition, food and medical supplies. Along with the airburne troops, a special unit of Imperial Army engineers was taken to Istvaan by helicopter. The engineers are currently constructing a makeshift airstrip so that cargo planes will be able to deliver heavy artillery to the loyalist forces.

Although a chain-of-command difficulty prevented this press release from being released, the already-mobilized Juthopia military is now shifting from the vicinity of Cosmic Provinces to the Oltramarian border. They should arrive within a few hours, and will repel the rebel's invasion using all legal means necessary.

Oltramar would like to report that, thanks to the help of the other nations, the Rebellion has succesfully been brought down. They have fallen into a retreat and are hiding across Oltramar. Branches of the military are hunting the reamining traitors at the current moment.

Despite this good news, the entire nation is greiving. The Holy Emperor, fighting against the treacherous Vladamir Horus, has nearly lost his life, and is currently in the Hospital of Oltramar receiving treatment. The report is that they may put his body into a Stasis of sorts until they can properly heal him. Until then, a coucil of nine Lords will rule the nation in his name. On the upside, Horus was killed in the battle....

With the conflict over, the territorial waters of Oltramar are returned to being under the jurisdiction of Oltramari(an?) authority. However, the naval blockade by the Polski-BaltoSlavic 7th fleet will remain in place in order to intercept escaping rebels. We will withdraw our forces upon orders by the Council of Nine Lords. Just give us the boot and we'll ship on home.
The fleet will not shortcut through Cruhadi waters for we have detected a vast mine field around the waters' perimeter. The fleet will not risk another encounter with Cruhad's maritime interests.

The recent episode in Oltramar has taught the Imperial Government of Wyczestr an important lesson: That individuals in positions of power, be it civillian or military, should not be allowed to operate autonomously, lest a few corrupt officers should see fit to rebel against the state for their own selfish purposes. The Emperor Hans-Heinrich II has ordered the creation of a new political branch of the Armed Forces (Internal Security Branch), which will have jurisdiction to observe, and, if necessary, try members of the military for insubordination. The ISB will also have the power to try Police and local government officials. The Emperor's Decision evoked criticism from some of the Army's top brass, who have just returned from the successful campaign in Oltramar. His Majesty, however, assured them that the ISB will only exercise it's powers should a clear threat of rebellion arise, and proposed a 5% pay raise for the military to smooth over any tensions. The newly appointed head of the ISB, Magnus Ulmschneider, meanwhile has been investigating the records and personal papers of the aforementioned officers (for discretion's sake).

PREMIER DAVE WELLINGTON DEAD at age 68

The Premier of Juthopia, David Winston Wellington, died at the Premier's Mansion in Delta City yesterday evening. Doctors confirm that the cause was a sudden heart attack, caused by the stress of almost thirty years of political work. His successor, Chancellor Brian Thelonius Williams, was sworn in late last night, and proceeded to initiate his allies in Parliament to pass several bills radically changing the direction of Juthopia's government. Among these are severe industrial taxes and waste disposal laws, and enacted stricter regulations governing pollution output. Logging has been banned in all of Juthopia's natural forests. Williams' spokesperson reported that he aims to make Juthopia have environmental protection the world will admire. Also, the southern desert has been bought by the government for several billion schillings, and will reportedly become a widespread solar array, aimed at making Juthopia's power source entirely self-sufficient.
In addition, several laws mandating higher-level education and a threefold increase in the healthcare budget has completely federalized the economy. All income has been directly to Delta City for spending and redistribution. In addition, the terms in office have doubled, and the Premier is now elected by the Parliament, conveniently a Populist majority. Political freedoms are expected to remain well below international standards.

Cruhad is very pleased that the rebellion has been defeated. However there is grieving for the Oltramarian Emperor. Flags have been ordered to be flown at half staff.

The troops are expected to return in a few days.

On the Northern front, Cruhadi forces and the rebels, who call themselves the Red Death, have reached a stalemate. The rebels are suprisingly well armed, and there are rumors of another nation supplying them. An inquiry has been launched into to investigate further.

In a statement issued by the Premier, he has absolved all ties to the Populist party and now has been accepted as the head of the Nationalist party by Nationalist party representatives. Also, his Populist allies in Parliament have switched sides as well, to the dismay of millions of voters who are represented by the new Nationalists. The national capital is currently being relocated to Camden, the provincial capital of the southeast reaches of Juthopia. Also, after the defeat of Oltramarian rebel forces, the army is now fleeting through the ex-Captain Jack's Trousers wilderness, with the objective of surrounding the Cruhadi insurgents. The minister's cabinet has been expelled, although Page McConnell and Michael Gordon remain, because of their unequaled experience at their posts.

The Premier has ordered the Juthopia army to advance to the Jack River and the Waterboro River's sources, two major waterways running southeast/northwest, evenly dividing the Captain Jack's Trousers wilderness. The army is searching the northeast section of this territory for the Cruhadi rebels.

With the troops from the Oltramarian rebellion finally back, the army has finally launched a major offensive. Air strikes are beginning and the ground offensive is said to begin within the week.

The troops are preparing for what should be a tough fight, for the Red Death soldiers are well armed and expert guerilla fighters. The Cruhadi soldiers are much better than that, and with bullets and faith, we shall defeat this rebellion.

Polska-BaltoSlavia will not engage its armed forces into the Red Death conflict. We choose to remain neutral and operations on dry land by our military are only carried out if the Empire is threatened. However, several regiments of the Holy Marines will be sent to the Cruhadi border in order to increase its security. We will not allow any foreigners to pass into Polski-BaltoSlavic territory through that boundary; that includes Cruhadis. Security will be lightened and the border re-opened once your conflict has been resolved.

An expeditionary task force by the HPN 4th Fleet has embarked on the River Eszatonek, a river that flows from Polska-BaltoSlavia into the recently-collapsed and abandonned country of The Eschaton. It have gone there to seize valuable iron and copper deposits. These resources are vital in building warships and these mines will be secured by whatever force necessary.

Juthopia opposes this military invasion of the Eschaton's wilderness. Although the previous administration did not have good relations with the Eschaton, we recognize their sovereignity and, although their government has collapsed, see this invasion as a violation of the Eschatonic peoples. Their militaristic intentions are demonstrated in their press release: "[The expedition] has gone there to seize valuable iron and copper deposits. These mines will be secured with whatever means necessary." Not only are they invading sovereign territory and using all force required to take what is not theirs, they are using the desired resources to make more military equipment. This is a clear-cut case of imperialism. Juthopia issues this ultimatum: If Polska and Baltoslavia does not withdraw its forces from the nation of the Eschaton in 48 hours, Juthopia's army will forcefully remove them, using whatever means necessary, as Polska and Baltoslavia would say.

Our intentions in the Eschatonic wilderness will not by any means be threatened. The dissimilation of the nation Eschaton has rendered the territory as international soil, free to be exploited by any nation who wishes. Polska-BaltoSlavia recognizes the rights of the nomads that survived the collapse, and they will not be harmed or enslaved as you may be thinking. These iron and copper mines were abandonned when the expeditionary force arrived, therefore the finders shall be the keepers. We speculate that your aggressive response was spurred out of disapointment that you did not get there first to secure these resources.
We strongly suggest that you retract your ultimatum. All your military needs is more stress right after an intense conflict in Oltramar. However if Juthopia will not listen to intelligent reasoning and take the violent, pugnacious approach, then the Polski-BaltoSlavic military forces are prepared to defend what is rightfully ours. The Holy Air Force and Marines are en route to the site to maintain constant patrol of the area. OOC - You can't just choose how things will be when you want to take territory. That is known as modding. You decided that it was international territory. You also decided that the mines were abandoned. Since when was it international territory? And using "whatever means necessary" to take what you believe is rightfully yours does not seem to respect anyone's rights.

The ground invasion has begun. The first waves of Cruhadi troops spear headed by tanks and supported by air strikes have crossed into the neutral territory. Progress has been slow and the Red Death are fighting fiercely. They are obviously very entrenched. They will be defeated however!

Cruhad's official stance on the Juthopian-Polskan conflict is neutrality. However, I urge both sides to consider peaceful options to resolve this debate before resorting to violence.

Long-range sensor scanning by the patrolling Holy Air Force have confirmed a large Juthopian military convoy en route to the Eschatonic mining site. Trained reservists have been called to arms and have crossed the border. They will arrive in a few hours. The HPN Engineering Corps has constructed a reinforced barrier complete with anti-tank obstacles. The battleship HPS Szczecin has its long range guns armed as it sits anchored in the River Eszatonek a mile away from the site. It is in the interests of diplomacy and humanity that blood will not be spilled, but we find these precautions necessary to protect our bounty.

We have tracked down some remnant government officials of the former Eschaton. We have not held any official talks with them as to the sovreignity of the mines for we wish to preserve fairness by asking Juthopian diplomats to join us in a tent set up 700 yards in front of the fortifications. There we will discuss several issues on how abandonned nations such as the Eschaton should be dealt with and what rights a nation has to abandonned land.

An even better approach would be to call all nations willing to a summit, where the sovreignity of abandonned frontiers can be discussed. There we can create a set of principles by which all nations must follow when traversing neutral territory. By collaborating as a region united, we can resolve such issues as the current by the most peaceful means.

Juthopia is willing to have negotiations with Polska and Baltoslavia. However, the Juthopian diplomats refuse to negotiate at gunpoint, at point-blank range from the Baltoslavian fortifications. However, location should not be an obstacle, and we are sure that we can agree on a location for the summit. Keep us informed on time, date, and location for this summit.

We are pleased that the Juthopian government has decided to choose to resolve the issue by peaceful means. A summit of nations is always the best way to compromise and collaborate. The nation who will host the summit should be one that has remained neutral on the Eschatonic mine issue. A nation such as Cruahd or Wyczestr would be good candidates. Once a neutral nation has volunteered to host the summit, we can decide the date and time mainly by what is most convenient for the host. We encourage all nations to attend. The more nations in attendance, the fairer it will be.

Major Issues for Summit Debate:
1) The sovreignity of unorganized/abandonned territories.
2) The freedoms a nation has when traversing unorganized territories.
3) The rights of remnant peoples in collapsed nations.
4) Whether parts of unorganized territory be annexed by an existing nation.

Thank you Cruhad. If any nations who did not attend the summit feel strongly about this issue please either cast your vote here or send me a telegram. If the decision on this issue changes due to a large amount of response one way or another, I will inform you about the new decision and if we need to have another summit. It is only fair that any nation who did not attend be able to voice their opinion.

As to the third summit, the issues that need to be decided are:
- How will the territories be divided, population or equal for all nations?
- Which nations will get which territories?

On a completely unrelated note, we will need to ooc discuss whether or not to try to get more ppl to join our region and how. If we want to keep the region small, that is fine, but it would be nice to have more ppl too.

The feeling is VERY mutual, Xason.

The issue of the neutral territories has been decided. However, a new summit must occur to decide how the lands shall be divided (the lands designated for acquisition). Juthopia assumes this will occur no earlier than May 13th, because of internal unrest resulting from the Cruhad infiltration scandal. I will be available May 13th and later, so contact the Foreign Ministry bureau when a date is decided.

Today is a bittersweet day indeed for The Divine Republic of Cruhad.

As you all know, Cruhad was the victim of a vicious attack by Xasonian spies. Posing as government officials, they managed to sneak their way into the Cruhadi capitol building in El-Hattal. They then proceeded to hold consuls Barry Al-Dar and Rahman Al'Saud hostage, and forced them to commit the heinous international acts of which I am sure our fellow nations are quite well aware.

In the wake of this atrocity, pro-government militias of mujahideen fighters swarmed to the capital and after a few days of fierce urban fighting victory was imminent. They were headed by two men, Saleh Al-Fulani, and Khalifa Zayed.

At the moment of victory, tragedy struck, just as the mujahideen fighters entered the chambers where Al-Dar and Al'Saud were being held, the Xasonian dogs detonated a bomb, destroying most of the capitol building and killing our beloved consuls.

Following this calamity, Al-Fulani and Zayed were appointed consuls, in recognition of their heroic deeds. Their first action as consuls, was to proclaim that although still recovering Cruhad would indeed be able to send a repreesentative to the next summit.

Juthopia proposes that the next round of summits occurs the weekend of May 13-15, 2005. Do any of the ambassadors have conflicts with these dates? I, personally, will be able to attend almost any time occurring that weekend.

A Juthopian supply convoy, en route to an expeditionary party searching for Cruhadi rebels, was ambushed late last night. Luckily, the lieutenant managed to contact the nearby outpost, and the 12th Army Corps, led by Captain Jack's Trousers native Doniac Schvice, managed to defend the convoy long enough for it to continue past the rebels safely. However, Major Schvice is still fighting the rebels, deep in the Jack wilderness. Schvice, with his expert knowledge of the territory, has managed to ascend into the mountains of the region, and is forcing the rebels down into the valley, and is attempting to surround them at the river. However, the rebels, with their guerrilla tactics and relentless vigor, are making this a costly maneuver. However, Schvice is convinced that this threat to regional peace and stability will be suppressed and controlled.

The 7th Army Corps, led by Major Wilson, has marched south into the Oltramarian wilderness, intending to trap the rebels. While heavy fighting continues between the rebels, fortified against the river, and Schvice's corps, bombarding the rebels in the lowlands from the mountains, Wilson has proceeded to the Macragge River, and set up an encampment as the vanguard divisions and scouts moved east into the CJT wilderness. When Wilson's divisions reach the opposite bank of the Jack River, Schvice will move into the valley as Wilson bombards the rebels and ensures that they will not escape.
Brian Williams has ordered the Ministry of Energy to begin construction of the planned solar power complex across the Camden Plateau/Northern CJT Wilderness region.

Major Wilson and Major Schvice have successfully defeated the Cruhadi rebels, with only 40 casualties. The Cruhadis who did not die in the fighting were captured following combat, and will be turned over to Cruhadi authorities if the request is made. Schvice, with his corps, has returned to his outpost in the CJT wilderness, and Wilson is returning to his encampment in the woods as well, in case more rebel armies turn up. In other news, ceremonial ground-breaking has begun for the solar array.

Cruhad thanks Juthopia for its help against the rebels, and does wish that the captured Cruhadis are turned over to us.

Although Juthopia troops have been victorious up north. Our armies are still fighting the main rebel force in the south. We have been making headway, but there guerilla tactics have been very costly to our troops.

While one regiment of Juthopia troops is heading south in the east section of the CJT territory to deliver the captives to Cruhadi authorities, the other is marching through the woods to where the rebels are located. Because the Major Wilson is coming in from the North, the intent is to surround the rebels, hopefully causing a resounding victory.

COMPLETION!

The long-awaited completion of the CJT solar complex has arrived. The arduous task of decommissioning roughly half of Juthopia's nuclear plants is looming, as Juthopia's power capacity has increased by 70%. Unless other nations are interesting in buying Juthopia's excess power, these plants will be decommissioned to restore the regions around the plants to communities with reasonable living conditions, reduce likelihood of mass catastrophy, and the ever-present goal to maintain the environment of Juthopia as it was when its first pioneers arrived. The city of Trowbridge has been founded on the Trousers River, on the edge of the solar complex. Currently there are only employees of the Juthopia Federal Power and Water Commission and the Federal Security Forces, but relocation subsidies are being offered and other Federal businesses are setting up offices in Trowbridge. Security forces have completed construction of their checkpoints, outposts, and fortifications surrounding the complex. Four Security Bases and an Air Force Base are assigned to protect the solar complex. Patrols are constantly checking the complex's surroundings and the complex itself, while the Air Force regularly patrols the skies. This is to ensure maximum protection.

Rebels Defeated!
High Clerics Brought to Justice!

Finally, the rebels in the southern half of the CJT wilderness have been defeated. After many weeks of pushing through against fierce guerilla attacks and ambushes, the Cruhadi army finally captured the last exiled high cleric. Estimated Casulalties in this small rebellion:

Cruhadi: 8,569 dead - 15,904 Wounded - 923 missing

Rebel: ~35,000 casulaties

Compensation will be lent to the families of those brave soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice to their country.
