immediately, pending the discovery of several Japanese missile silos in the mountains, H9s and Tu22s launch hundreds of airstrikes, peppering the area with hundreds of free fall and guided bombs. Type 500S4 cruise missiles are launched at Japanese targets in the mountains, and special forces are being extracted from the mountains in face of the raids and sent, instead, to the northern cities, where they wage guerilla warfare in coordination with invading Sinoese forces.

Two Amphibious Assault Groups have landed to the east of the Sinoese forces, bringing their own Type 98 tanks and YW531SX7 APCs and IFVs to bear.

Paratroopers land behind enemy lines with light tanks, fast attack vehicles, and plenty of recoilless weapons that can take out Type 90 tanks, used by the Japanese.

"Sir, they're civvies." Private Smith lowers his binoculars and reports to Lt. Chiang.

"I'm not surprised, soldier. Just remember, when a civvy chooses to fight, he's no longer a civvy, but a combatant, just like any other Jap in uniform. Just stay alert behind your MG." Lt. Chiang orders.

"Yessir!" Smith replied nervously.

It did not take long for the angry mobs of Japannese country bumpkins to march up to about 600m from fortified street corner. The private showed no remorse when ordered to. He took aim through the iron sights and without hesitation, pulled the trigger and held it. The results were not unusual. The machinegun hammered out quick but nonstop bursts.

Soon, others nearby followed. The crescendo of machineguns firing was deafening. The wavs after wave of Japannese guerillas being mown down equals the appreciative audience.

"RIFLES! Up. FIRE!" Sergeant Wong ordered the supposedly idle men. Some fired from the hip, others took closer aim. Chattering alonside the MGs, the rifles also demonstrated no mercy. Resistance was futile as the Sinoese held higher ground and superior firepower.

As the approaching fools soon felt out off formation, armor from behind was revealed. Type 90 MBTs were slowly but steadily making their way up the country road although only 600m away, Lt. Chiang's face was of alert and anxiety. At this range, theirguns would not miss. He grabbed his megaphone immediately after dropping the binoculars.

"All units of the 3rd company, pull back immediately. Armor on sight, I repeat heavy armor on approaching." after calling his troops to board the APCs and trucks, he mumbled a few words in his radio.

Enclosed by two highrise apartments, Chiang was barely in the mood of worry as the two building were wired to C4. Sergeant Wong was the last to board the truck, he fired one LAW round and shouted some nationalist slogans at the approaching hostiles before being told off by Chiang about being compromised.

"Just let them get close then blow the buildings." Chiang ordered an engineer via radio.

"What?! They have goddamned nukes in Pershings?" Liu could only barely believe his ears.

"Yes, that is correct. Sir." The voice on the other line was full of anxiety. Liu hung up and a thought came to mind. The warheads have heat shields that are very durable, in a case of airstrike, they can survive without detonation or contamination of the surroundings. He could not hold back the urge

J-12s with their advanced avionics and the support of UAVs soon launched the rage of the Chinese at their targets on the ground. By procedure it was the ASMs followed by salvos of rockets. Regardless of the dangers of the low altitude they are at, it seems that the sense of mission has taken over their instinct.

===============================================

Sinose tanks have engaged in battle with their Japannese counterparts, the best of Chinese and Japanese armor battle it out.

Sergeant He had barely made it out off his Type 98 as it was revealed that the hull was hid and only his turret was intact, despite his internal injuries, he takes his Type 95 carbine and managed to spray a few rounds at the mobs of rural mongrels before being cut down by a .50 from a Type 90's turret.

Task Force Sunset, Field HQ (General Liu's office), 2123 Hours:

"General, sir!" His secretary saluted, "Some of the elite Japannese 'civilian commandos' may have, in the chaos of battle breached the perimeter of our HQ, using the advantage of night."

"I'll be out in a minute." Liu had just finished attaching the nightscope to his Type 88-II (7.62x51mm) sniper rifle and unfolded the bipod. He felt like twenty-three again.

Using one of the internally guarded emergency exits, Liu was soon out off the office and once again, in the field, alone. "They could be looking for the entrances..." Liu thought. Suddenly, spotting some movement through his NVG, he sees a Japannese man, dark as a ninja, standing idle and talking on the radio. Liu quickly takes aim, only just about 50m away. Scanning with the scope to see that none of that target's comrades are nearby, he pulled the trigger. A textbook chest shot was the result.

Running stealthily, Liu purposefully fell down near the corpse and searched it, the radio was buzzing with frantic messages in Japanese, Liu picked it up from the dead man's hand and put it to his mouth. He pressed the call tab.

"Just come and get me! You S.O.Bs! You think you can take on the General?!" Liu mocked his enemies then hung up. Suddenly, he realized, he had forgotten to screw in the silencer on the rifle, despite having that on his sidearms. He paused for that touchup and cursed under his breath, then moved off.

OOC: General Liu is STILL a very capable sniper. This is worth RP'ing about.

As the militas charged forward, they felt victory was within their grasp.

All this suddenly changed when a skscraper nearby exploded, collapsing and killing the gunners hiding in the buildings.

With hundreds trapped inside the burning wreck, they begin to sing the Japannese anthem for the last time.

The rest of the militas fall back, taking heavy casualties as Sinoese machine-gun fired on them.

General Liu drops the enemy radio, not giving a damn about the gibberish said in Japanese on the other line. Realising that his boot laces had been undone, the General bends down by his knees, surprisingly a shot rang our and landed right where his head was. The tree in front of him spat out pieces of barks from the impact of the projectile. General Liu instinctively rolls over, the rifle in his right hand. He dared not to open his mout to curse. Very slowly and quietly, he tries to re-orientate himself (back in prone), rifle pointing at the direction of the target.

Having been in combat for so long, any good soldier only needs to hear the shot to tell its bore...

In the most briefest of moments his mind drifts back to the days when he was just any army lieutenant back in sniper school... "Liu, pay closer attention!" he recalls the education officer calling as he was barely turning his head towards the window. "Yessir!" Liu remembers his reply, crisp and sharp. Later in the lesson, they demonstrated diagrams of sniper rifles from around the world. The Japanese had a Howa Supreme Varminter:

http://www.imt.net/~mele/images/howa3.jpg

General Liu's flashback:

Hearing that the shot was a .308 Win (just as his rifle) he remembers his former instructor saying "the Japs have their own cheap version of the USMC M40A1". His mind continues to drift as the shots rang out slowly, hitting the spot around the first shot. One came close to his shoulder.

His mind continues to drift in a racing trance... He remembers the first time he killed a white man, a sniper just like him, it was a rainy afternoon in the tropics of the Sino-Vietnamese (OOC: Border between China and Vietnam). He was thirsty and tired, that sonuvabitch was a good shot, but not good enough. He didn't see it coming, but the bullet made an angry graze at his right arm, there is still a scar. it was eight years ago. He remembered his ruse, using his field knife, he cut off a section of his shirt sleeve from the injured arm and daringly waved it in the wind. The enemy, an American twice his former age, leaned forward and continued firing. Liu struggled to take aim but eventually did, he could see the man grey moustache in his scope, that dirty-faced American bolting his rifle. "Checkmate" Liu remembered himself whispering, before the trigger was pulled to create an ugly hole through the Yank's face.

He waded through the knee deep mud after hearing the dead man's groans and with a free hand over his wound just to take a look at the corpse, he jogged for 300m. He could not believe his sight, in its glory was the USMC M40A3. He remembers picking up that piece. Currently, that M40A3 sits in his personal arms collection...

Fully conscious:

He sees the laser irradiating from amongst the bushs (OOC: Japann, why do your snipers carry that crap at night), the last shot stopped, like the M40A1, at its fifth round, the sniper must be reloading the mag. He scans out with his NVGs and sees that the target is only 150 or so meters away, he quickly takes aim, "Checkmate" he whispers as he reaches for the trigger.

As the the J-12s turn back towards base victoriously, Second Lieutenant Lei was the first to notice on it his radar. Having recently graduated from his fighter pilot training, Lei had the spirit of a teenager and sharp alertness.

"Major, major. Something's in the air and behind us." Lei spoke to his commander with anxiety. "Only 135km, not far."

"What, the fff! We left one out! Holy crap, it's likely to head for the HQ..." Before the Major could finish, he sees that Lei's J-12 had veered off their course and made a quick turn.

"Pilot, you have broken off formation, get back here. I'm warning you!" the Major was dealing with two crises at once. "Lei, you're pissin' me off."

Checking to see the missile's altitude is still rising. Lei continues to head strait towards it at full speed.

"Pilot, I'm ordering you to re-enter formation at once! What you are doing is against the conventions of the ARSAF." The Major was losing his temper.

"Abnd what you are telling me to do is treachery to our compatriots!!! Sir!" Lei was fully focussed on the missile.

"Sir, I'm goin' in!!!" Lei harshly shouted his final words before aiming his aircraft and directly headed towards the Pershing. Man versus missile.

The Aircraft came in quickly, launched from a specially modified Uccellino De Mare Aircraft Carrier. This would be the first them the Giavellotto 3000's would see combat, and their pilots were all eager for the chance to test the Javelin.

36 planes, in 2 squadrons approached the battlefield clustered with enemy and allied tanks. With the majority of enemy radar sites in the area either too far away or hopefully destroyed they entered the airspace relying on their low RCS. Turning on their ARCangel systems, to hopefully lower their RCS even further the continued on. Coming in close to the ground, in true nape of the earth flying, or as close to it as a supersonic jet could come. They proceeded at a rapid pace to the area of attack, the enemies rear echelons of tanks, where they would let loose their barrages of Brimstone ATGM's.

"Fire the ATGMs, they're still close!" A senior infantry commander yelled into his radio. At such a range, it seems that only such weapons are effective. There will be enough ATGMs even if the Sinoese blow all of their current supply in one night. Type 98 MBTs are also capable of firing ATGMs from their main guns like the T-90.

Sinoese infantrymen are risking their lives in the old Korean War way with C4 satchel charges. They sneak up to the enemy tanks to place then detonate it by radio.

Attack helicopters have been working with limited success as the confusing knot of MBT chaos below makes targeting difficult.

OOC: Ahh, back to the old meat grinder days.

"Bravo Charlie, calling for additional support, over!" Gen. Liu was not sure if he could continue alone.

"Bravo Charlie, this is HQ. Gunships in the air." The reply was obviously not as swift.

Still in prone, the General's mind drifts... "there'll be 5 gunships to clear the area and our elite SOFs will descend by helicopter... ETA 20 minutes. 20 damn minutes!" He checks that his GPS tracker is still on.

Back on his feet, he moves off. Spotting some movement only close by, he changes from Type 88 to Type 85 submachinegun with supressor. Some hostiles are close by.

"This is Zero One Bravo, callin... *BOOOOOM*"

Like the many radio messages relayed from the MBTs at the front, they were suddenly cut off by the rockets that inflamed the front and slaughtered both Sinoese and Japannese infantrymen and tanks with no mercy.

Major Chen was ever so pissed when after only five minutes, him and his subordinates will had only rested for five minutes and they have to be in the air again. This time the threat isn't that big.

"Alright men, we've got a couple of Jap MRLS in the area" He held back the fatigue and pointed out the area on the map with his finger. "We're racing against the boys of the ground artillery to have it pummeled."

Within minutes they were in flight.

"Attention all units, INTEL has confirmed MRLS sites in the area, due to their air defences, J-10s can only patrol beyond their range. There is not enough J-12s in our current squadron to knock'em all out, so we'll just have to wait. Command has assigned artilleries to take out the SAMs first. All J-10s follow Capt. Lee to patrol duty and take out some Jap reinforcements. Out." The Major yawned.

OOC: what would happen if I surrender?

*Clobbers together a military force to take Tokyo as a Bonstocknian colony*

Port Yuko, Bonstock

It had been mere months since Bonstock's liberation from communism. Now, once again, they would go to war.

This now was a desmonstration of military technology by acting President Gustavus Adolphus. A new, high speed craft was being deployed, able to carry 1,500 troops and their equipment. It was called the Betelgeuse class.

The force contained 50 of these ships, along with twenty Evremonde class destroyers for escort purposes.

Embarked on 10 of the ships was the Bonstocknian 3rd Infantry Division, with 15,000 men, 500 trucks, and 75 155mm guns. It was divided into the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Brigades, each with 100 trucks and 3,000 men. Then there was divisional artillary, with 75 guns and 3,000 men, and the Divisional Support Command (DISCOM) with 3,000 men. Headquarters for the division was part of DISCOM, along with signals, engineer, and medical support.

The other ships carried supplies for the others.

In all, 20,000 men would participate. They were to sieze Narita airport, allowing it for use by reinforcements.

If the operation, codenamed Harbor Porpoise, worked, it would set in motion a new organization for the Bonstocknian military.

The task force set off for Tokyo at a speed of 40 knots, impressive for any cargo mission.

He came back later. "Sir, we have reached the Sakishimas."

Let it be known to Bonstock that EI will resist any aggressive action towards Bonstockian colonization in Asia. The time has passed for our brethren to fight each other; rather, we must unite against all foreign threats, not squabble for the sake of a petty cause as colonization.

Forces based in PRC China and Taiwan are preparing for battle, this time not with Japann or Kajiraki, but with imperialist Bonstock, in particular, Vermilion Squadron, out of Erdana, this time outfitted in all brand new J10NX5s, and waiting for some air time over the East CHina Sea.

---Statement by Bonstocknian High Command---

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Acting President of the Republic of Bonstock, Generalfeldmarshall Gustavus Adolphus."

A man dressed in a military uniform walks up to the podium, in front of a seal that says "Office of President of the Federal Republic of Bonstock" around a Swedish triple-crown seal. He speaks, with a Swedish accent,

"Fellow Bonstocknians, our forces are now engaged in possible battle situations with Japann. But unfortunatly, these actions have backfired unexpectedly. Our allies, East Islandia and Agrigento, are abandoning us, and starting to take offensive actions against the military forces of the Federal Republic of Bonstock.

"These allies of ours are traitors to our cause of the defeat of Japann.

"Our military seeks to occupy the Japannese capital of Tokyo after the war. We do this for Japann's own good. We understood that Japann would be occupied at the end of military hostilities, and we seek to make good on our obligations."

"At the present time, Bonstocknian forces are launching attacks on military targets throughout Japann, concentrated on the island of Okinawa.

"Japann aided the rebels by giving them bases which we conquered and refuse to cede. The Sakishima islands, won by the blood of
Bonstocknians, are not to be turned over to Japann or any other power.

"We seek not war with our own allies, but if they continue their belligerent path, then we will have no choice but to launch attacks on them.

"We offer a compromise to our allies. If we are allowed to maintain control of the Sakishima islands, and station sizable military forces in Japannese territory, then we will back down from our bids to occupy Tokyo.

"If this compromise is rejected, the Federal Republic of Bonstock will take military action, possibly leading to a declaration of war.

"We hope that it does not come to this."

Reporters started asking questions.

"Sir, what happens if the compromise does not pass?"

"We are prepared to enforce our compromise by force if nescissary."

Another one asked, "Does the military government want to go to war?"

"We do not seek war, but we will use force to enforce our goals."

Another one asked, "Sir, how many military forces are currently in the Sakishima islands?"

"In the area now is a Maropian brigade of about 3,000 men, along with an airbase holding a figher wing. Last question?"

"Why are we trying to maintain influence in the Asia-Pacific region?"

"It is in our economic, military, and political interests. We seek to maintain peace in the region, and protect our colony of Maropian Coast. We also have huge economic investments in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Taiwan. In addition, we want to play a part in the politics of the region, keeping the governments 'to our liking.' That was the reason for the involvement with the war in the first place, though our action was interupted by the civil war. That's all I have time for, thank you, and goodnight."

"Quite well, General Lung. I need to get a line to Steuben."

"Yes, sir."

Admiral von Steuben, commander of the Bonstocknian navy, was called.

"Admiral Steuben, we are aware of East Islandia and Agrigento both pledging military action against us if we continue with Operation Harbor Porpoise."

"I know. I am afraid we will need more forces as a deterant to their agression. It will help the compromise pass."

"Yes. It is not in our interests to go to war under these circumstances. If they do not agree within the next couple of hour, authorize an airlift to Maropian Coast. We must bring as many forces to bear as we can, quickly. If not, Maropian Coast will fall quickly. We must deploy the 6th and 9th Airborne. They will be alerted to fly."

"Good. But we need more airsupport."

"Air support will not be a problem once we have our Hypersoars and F-38s alerted. Now continue with your current course, but hold off on the attack on Japann for now. We'll see if the compromise works. If not, we'll deploy our forces to defeat both enemies as planned in OPLAN 5000. We will have to adapt it for both nations."

"Roger sir. The lessons of the civil war will not be forgotten."

"Carry on, Admiral."

East Islandian Politburo
Sumenya Hall, Hu-kasa

Today, on a dreary day in monsoon season for Islandia, Sumenya Hall, the house of the EI Politburo, was packed with legislators and lawmakers from all over the country, politicians from sunkissed Rugola in the southwest to windswept Brineya Island in the North, a land of cold, biting winds, and nearly everywhere in between the huge archipelago.
Chai Jun, acting as Premier in the absence of Qu Yingzi, was to deliver a speech, possibly her first act as the first woman leader of EI for several centuries, since the Golden Empress of the 1500s.

"Let it be known to Bonstock that there will be no compromise for imperialist dogs," Acting Premier Chai Jun said, in her loud, clear voice. A pretty woman at thirty eight, she was reviled by many politicians in EI for being...well, so young. Nonetheless, the Golden Empress herself was not more than twenty five when she took the throne and led Islandia, as it was then called, to victory over seven different nations in the course of three months.

"And that is what they are making themselves out to be," Chai continued, "by playing this dirty, lowly game of politics that will eventually allow them to dominate the Pacific, and even our mighty allies, the Taiwanese, the Sinoese, and the Agrigentians, and eventually, even us.
We must NOT allow this!"

The Hall was thrown into an uproar; firstly, Chai had implied that Bonstockians were "imperialist dogs", secondly, she was young and a woman, and thirdly, more than one politician in Sumenya Hall was willing to let Bonstock roll over the Japanese without a single cent in aid.

"Why must we make this our matter?" Councilor Su asked, flustered. A tall Chinese from Erdana, Su was known for his staunch support of Sino and ultranationalist policies. "The Japanese nearly enslaved us Islandians in World War II, and we have nothing to lose by letting an ally of ours help themselves to a bit of what should be theirs, and that we should do instead of threatening to spill sacred Islandian, Agrigentian, and Bonstockian blood over such a petty matter!"

THe Ultranationalist Chinese party, Xin Guo (New Nation) roared, its delegates giving Su a standing ovation for his... measly speech, or so Chai felt.

"And what will happen after they're done with Japan? Will they move on to Taiwan? PRC CHina? Sino? Agrigento? Eventually they will be knocking at our doorstep, eventually, they will be seeking OUR riches, OUR land, OUR rights, and the soul of OUR nation. China was raped by imperialists through the late nineteenth and mid twentieth century, as was much of Asia; will we sit by and let this happen again? Will we sit by and let Asia become their plaything? Not while I have anything to do about it, nor while our nation has the force to prevent this. Never mind that their ancestors killed ours in World War II, never mind that we are separated by a vast expanse of ocean. We are all Asians, and it is up to us to save our people, to save our continent.

"I am ashamed of you, Councilor Su, and of your party, Xin Guo, for even thinking such thoughts. There has been discrimination against Japanese Islandians lately, discrimination unwarranted and supported by our followers-" Chai leveled her gaze and finger at Su. "How dare you try to circumvent the principals we were founded on, as a nation. How dare you succumb to the cowardly imperialists!

"People of Islandia, if Bonstock does not cease their machinations immediately, we have no choice but that which is such a 'matter of grave concern to the state.' I will not call Bonstock our ally, but neither will we call them our enemy-yet. We will try to reason with them, as they are also our Asian comrades. But if we should fail to secure reason...."

The EI Politburo voted that day to increase force deployment in the Pacific theater. Two Maiden class carriers and their battlegroups were deployed, as well as two Amphibious Assault Groups and their escorting complement. Tokyo, Japann

A man passed down in the streets. He was a young, 22 year old man, and attracted many of the local Japannese girls. Which was why he loved his job as a BSS operative working secretly in Japann, styling himself as a graduate student at the University of Tokyo.

He recieved a package at a known drop point in a park. It was a small bomb, and he was instructed to bomb any major place in Tokyo, and make it look to the Japannese like a Bonstocknian cruise missile explosion. Rather then risk doing it himself, he made sure to hand it off to one of his girlfriends, instrucing her to take the bomb to a local military barracks. It would be remotly detonated when she was at a safe distance. If she was caught, she did not know that her boyfriend was a Bonstocknian spy. And he was going out of the country that night.

The girl took the bomb to the barracks, and left it by a guard tower in the night. She briskly left the area, and then the bomb exploded with the force of a standard Bonstocknian cruise missile.

A scattered, broken message, coming from somewhere in Tokyo.

Japann will not fall to the imperialist Bonstockians. Our words are backed with.....nuclear weapons. We will not hesitate to use them.

"What do you make of this?" Deputy Foreign Minister Qiao asked Chai. The new communique just arrived in Hu kasa today, luckily AFTER her speech, and it was causing quite an uproar among the Integrated Forces Command. Yet also quite luckily, the communique had been kept secret for now, to be released within an hour.

"Our integrated missile defence systems are among the best," Chai replied. "I only fear that the Bonstockians will use it to their advantage."

Qiao nodded. He twisted his lips in frustraton, then sighed and shrugged. "I'll get together with INterior Minister Quang and the press secretaries and see what we'll come up with. Meanwhile, you stay here and consult with General Shun on what we can do," he said.

Chai nodded and patted Qiao on the shoulder. The Bonstockians were ruthless politicians, she knew. Better politicians than she was, especially with Qu gone. Now, Bonstock acted the part of a wolf, unhesitant, willing to gobble and devour all advantages, anything that may give them leverage over their opponents in the pursuit of such an inglorious cause.

But they still shouldnt have bluffed where they couldnt afford to make good on it. East Islandia had one thing that the Bonstockian wolves didnt:

"We cant sit here and wait for them to move," General Kuo said.
"What can we do? The bureaucrats in Hu-kasa are not willing to risk war, and for that matter, neither are the Bonstockians," Admiral Shai replied. "The only units ready and willing to fight are the Eighth Guards Armored led by that female Jap who was insulted a while back in the news, and the Eighty Fifth and Seventy Third Amphibious Assault Groups, sent to the Pacific theater a day ago.
"All of those units are at least 50 percent Japanese."
Kuo nodded. "Still, I hope Japan doesnt launch nukes..if they know whats good for them. They may well end up losing support here and in Agrigento."
"Support or not, we cant allow Bonstock to take over Asia," Shai said, reminding him.

THe two men watched their troops, unknowing of the Bonstockian bugs within their office. The troops of the Third Lancers seemed disoriented, shabby; their tanks were peeling paint, their rifles splotched with brown patches and disuse, and the troops stumbled over themselves, seeming to trip over their own feet. Some had their flakvests on improperly, and others even had their boots on the wrong feet.

IN the harbor, the ships sat at bay, rusted and listing. Someone had decided to line up the blue-gray vessels in tight rows, so that any bomb would cause multiple damage.

Qiao sighed. Shin would have a fit if he saw what happened to his beloved division, he knew. Still, he was doing it for the best, and he hoped that whatever the plans were, they would waste anyones lives over it.

Before anyone in East Islandia could release it, High Command released the new transmission from Japann.

"This is Bonstocknian Satellite Television, with continuing coverage of the conflict in the Pacific. In a brand new development, Japann has threatened to use nuclear weapons if attacked by the Federal Republic of Bonstock. This could cause quite a stir among our politicians. With us now is General of the Airforce Robert Lung, with his analysis. General?"

"Thank you. Anyway, Bonstock will not tolderate the use of nuclear weapons, and will respond to their use accordingly. Our SDIs are ready to shoot down any threat, and our air defense system is ready for anything. Bonstock is now moblizing, and our air forces have started a massive airlift to Maropian Coast, in order to stablize the region. If we must use this force, then we will without hesitation. But you can be sure that in this country, you will hear about anything that happens. In some countries, our former allies, information such as the Japannese nukes are kept secret until it is suitable for the government to disclose them. Yet here, even with the military in control, you will know all taht we can tell you without endangering national security. We shall not lose this war if hostilities break out."

"Now General, we've jsut recieved word that Acting President Adolphus plans to meet personally with the leaders of Agrigento and East Islandia. Do you think this will work?"

"We hope that General Adolphus can negotiate this out. We believe that by personally meeting in this fashion, we can work out a good compromise, resulting in the reunification of the alliance. Remember, Japann is the enemy, not East Islandia or Agrigento. We must keep that in mind."

"What about the recent deployments by East Islandia?"

"We will not attack them, and we will wait to attack until the enemy makes the first move. This situation must be negitiated, or Japann's influence will spread fast. And then we'll all be doomed. We must unite against our true enemy."

"We're jsut recieveing word of an explosion in Tokyo. Is it a Bonstocknian strike?"

"No, we would never concieve of doing such a thing. It must have been planted by Japann with interests in framing us, giving them pretext to attack us."

"That's all the time we have now. Thank you, General."

East Pacific Command HQ, Nanjing, China

"Readiness levels are low," Second General Kiang reported, standing stiffly at attention. "Armored troops are at a forty percent readiness, with about a hundred functioning tanks, IFVs, and APCs from the Third Lancers, out of a normal complement of three hundred. Mechanized Infantry Brigades 3-9 are at a two percent readiness rate; their equipment was badly damaged during the previous conflict and morale is low. The Eighth Guards Lancers are arriving as we speak, but it will be another week before they can fully set up and be back on duty; the ocean crossings will become very hazardous should we go to war with Bonstock. Likewise, the First, Second, and Fourth Advanced Fighter Divisions are recieving their stocks of J37s throughout the week to replace those that they lost, as well as an influx of new pilots straight from Air Engagement Training Skool in Erdana, about three such squadrons of new pilots and fifty or so new planes per division. THe First ISD is at a new all time low, with all of its crew and planes due in for rotation to Choon-Tai for replacement by the Ninth ISD, which will probably take a week to get here. LIkewise, we do not know how PRC China and Taiwan, our two regional allies, will feel having our forces stationed on their soil fighting Bonstock..."

Qiao sighed. THe naval report was slightly better, so that was good. HE cleared his throat.
"All of the naval units are at a sixty percent readiness, with about a hundred ships of the hundred fifty at combat readiness, with the other fifty being heavily damaged. The 1st Naval Fighter Detachment, 2nd Strike Division, and 102nd Anti-ship Unit are all at forty percent readiness, with about three hundred of their five hundred planes at combat capability. Our ships were due in for repair and overhaul, and the 22nd Surface Engagement Group was due to replace the 451st. Likewise, Wolfpacks Three Three One, Four Four Nine, and Two One Seven are at ten percent capability, with five of their twenty four submarines operating at combat readiness level.
"The good news is that J10NX5s have arrived throughout the fleet and are replacing our older J10s in service. Likewise, J14s/16s and J37N5s have arrived."
"How many?" Theater Commander Jiang asked.
"A full fighter regiment (50 planes) commanded by He Qianji," Qiao replied.
"Good news indeed," Jiang muttered under his breath. He motioned at the communique which sat on his desk, and the men nodded.

it said:
Forces command-All Islandian military units
Instate readiness level Zeta. War imminent with Bonstock; put SHADOWED RISING into effect.

A rather cryptic message, but given the years of experience all the present officers had, it was no trouble for them to decipher and understand the message quickly.

Secret IC (OOC massive effort, no suddenly understanding what happens; however, parts and pieces of this effort may be picked up from SAT intel and SIGINT)
About nineteen submarines, five hundred assorted fighters, bombers, and strike planes, fifty ships, and three brigades from the Eighth Guards Lancers were stored throughout secret bases along the east China coast, provided by Mainland China.

Echo Detachment Four One Nine was preparing for insertions into Bonstock; commanding them would be a thirty something year old Colonel Tang, a scruffly, ragged man who didnt cut very much of a figure in the quite large Islandian Banner Armed Forces, a noted slacker and man who was thought to have been a better partier than soldier.

**********
Aboard the SS Tiensi, a young, twenty five year old man paces nervously. A defector from the predominantly Chinese Islandian First Guards Mechanized Brigade, Third Lancers Division, he was an ardent Chinese nationalist who despised the Japanese. He had tried to contact the Bonstockian security services before, with his offer to tell the Bonstockians everything he knew about the Islandian order of battle and tactics, if they would give him sanctuary. Indeed, for a Lieutenant, the young man was remarkably well connected; he knew about five more high ranking officers of the Third Lancers, officers who could sway the outcome of the war if persuaded to defect or abandon their efforts against a fellow Asian nation.

His name was Su Chu-yen, a First Lieutenant in the First Guards Mechanized Brigade, a cousin of Councilor Su of Erdana.

Of course, the intelligence situation of the Islandians were a lot worse than anyone could have realized; hundreds of defectors defected during the Japann-Sino war, and hundreds of CHinese this time would defect. Su knew this, for he had orchestrated a secret movement to throw the plans of his misguided government and generals into disarray.

One of which is the incumbent Islandian leader, Chai Jun, and the other her predecessor, Qu Yingzi.

*********
Chai Jun smiled. So the Bonstockians would negotiate? Of course, she spoke English, but Swedish....
Islandians were not very used to dealing with Swedes, but from what they saw so far, the Swedes would make an immensely difficult foe.

The plan worked better than Chai could have hoped.

A carrier pigeon entered the window, and flew around. Some of the BSS guards pointed thier MP-5s at the thing, until it flew onto someone's head. Then they noticed the note. The pigeon quietly landed on a table and the guards took the note.

"This could be good. Send the thing back, with a tracking device attached to the note and another one attached to the leg."

"Yes, sir."

They wrote a note.

Sir,

It has come to our attention that you would be willing to 'destroy all obstacles,' namely destroy the Premier and her pretecesor. I want you to hold off on these plans until a more appropriate time. An attack now would be the pretext for war, which we dont want at the present time.

"Sir, the airlift has gotten the 6th and 9th Airborne Divisions to Maropian Coast. Should we send more?"

"Yes. We must send in the 4th Infantry Division, and sealift in the 1st and 2nd Armored. Only with these forces can we secure Maropian Coast and the Sakishimas from aggression."

"All right. I'll alert them for deployment."

"Good. But I'm also concerned with air defence. How many squadrons are on alert?"

"We have 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 12th, and 15th Fighter Wings ready. (ooc: fighter wing= 60 aircraft in 3 squadrons of 20)."

"Good, but get more ready. I'll wait until war for the dispersal orders. But put it into place in Maropian Coast."

"Yes, sir."

The Pigeon flies to an abandoned warehouse in the Keniya District, strangely, a heavily pro-Japanese harbor enclave. Inside the warehouse were several shadowy figures, who, upon recieving the note, read it and left immediately in a widely spaced convoy of three SUVs, a Nissan, a BMW, and a Chevy Suburban, which all left minutes before each other.

Apparently this was a high ranking legislator in Sumenya Hall, probably one from Xin Guo or Chi Hsin, two of the most nationalistic parties, both of which had five councilors in Sumenya Hall. But who was it?

*******
Half of hte Eighth Guards Lancers have arrived in Hangzhou aboard Islandian troop transports; the other half have arrived in Shanghai aboard umarked cargo ships. It was known to Forces Command that the Bonstockians coveted Shanghai, and Hangzhou, as two strategic cities in Southern China.

Their commander, a thirty eight year old woman named Risaako Yumawa, was cited for insubordination before in the Sino-Japann war for breaking iwth the government and nearly derailing the war effort by protesting the words of their ally, Sino, whose officers and politicians declared that to sleep with a Japanese woman was to commit "beastiality." She was nearly court martialed, but she was a hero to the strong Japanese Islandian community, so she was spared the indignity.

One thing that beats a dragon and a wolf, Risaako thought as she watched the Type 98S9 tanks and WZM-551S4 IFVs unload from the troop transports in Hangzhou.
A tiger. Especially a Japanese one.

The Ninth Amphibious Group has arrived in Okinawa to reinforce the Islandian forces already there. there are currently two assault divisions and two spearhead divisions in Okinawa, spearhead troops being ill-equipped for defence. As a result, the spearhead troops are being airlifted out by IL76 and Tu330 transports while another two Assault divisions are sealifted in.

"Still no response diresctly from Argentino. East Islandia will negotiate, but four divisions are located in Okinawa."

"Damn, we need more forces! Send in as many as you can find. We must mobilize. But anyway, what about Argentino? Will they agree?"

"That is not known at the current time, sir."

"Very well. DEFCON 1 will still be in place. Send divisions to the Sakishimas, and make sure we can deter an invasion. But Okinawa..."

"Yes. We might be able to have it."

"Well, keep your deployments. How many forces are in Maropian Coast now?"

"We are stating to fly in forces that will use prepositioned stocks of material in Maropian Coast. We have stocks for 80 Armored brigades, but it will take some time to get them there."

"How long?"

"If we use all of our civilian recourses, we can get them there in two weeks."

"We shouldn't do that yet. For now, we'll only use military transport. Make it all seem normal. But be sure to deploy some 100 fighter squadrons. We will need them."

"All right. We will deploy them as soon as possible. Should we disperse yet?"

"No. Not yet. Its not the time for that."

At airbases across Bonstock, some 2,000 JAS 39 Gripens took off, heading for Maropian Coast and the Sakishimas. They would stablize the region, and keep Bonstocknian territories safe.

In addition, their maintenance crews flew in on dozens of transports. In all, 200,000 of them would be sent to guard Bonstocknian outposts and keep the Gripens flying.

And that was only the Flygsvapnet's deployments.

In addition, setting sail for Maropian Coast were 160 Visby class corvettes, aided by various oilers to get to their destination. Some four hundred cargo ships carried the material for the Army, as well as food, oil, and other supplies. The fleet would be soon in Maropian Coast, ready to fight.

Some random road
Ishigaki island

A squadron of JAS Gripens came in low. Thier gear was down. They flew over the road, cleared of traffic for them. The road was barely wide enough for them to make a landing. Thier gear kissed the ground, and the Gripens came to a halt. They taxied over to a shelter built for them, hidden by trees. They were mere tent hangers, but they held a Gripen. There was also smaller tents for living, a mess tent, a control tower, and a weapons tent. Supplies would be brought in by truck, along with the people suposed to keep the Gripens flying. Partolling around them was the Bonstocknian 4th Infantry Division, equipped with the new M-33, the replacement to the HMMWV.

---------

Bonstocknian fleets waited of the coast of Japann, ready to strike at any time. The 3rd Infantry Division was ready for anything, though its new organization was quite different from previous organizations.

The commander, Karl Stavesson, took a helicopter from his cargo ship to the destroyer Evremonde, Admiral von Steuben's flagship. He went to the bridge to meet with his commander.

"Sir, what are High Command's orders?"

"We will continue to sit here until further orders."

"Sir, we are running out of time. Unless we get underway now, we will have a serious logistical problem on our hands."

"That is true. But we must stay put for now. With time."

"Well, we oughta either get negotiations on or attack now. If we give the order, we can be on the beach by midnight." It was 5:00.

"That is true. But High Command doesn't want to offend our allies. We're trying our alternatives."

"Like what? We need to induce Japann to attack first. I say we mount an operation to send in a smal minisub into Yokohama harbor, torpedo an aircraft carrier or something big with some high explosive, and get out. They will never prove that we did it."

"How do you know they can prove it?"

"Well, no one has ever found a type 14 minisub. Do we have any here?"

"On one of our destroyers, there is one."

"What are we waiting for?"

Von Steuben thought for a second. If they suceeded in inducing Japann to attack first, then the allies would all join in to defeat Japann, and Bonstock would control its original goals, providing a base for future operations. If they were found out, Bonstock would be alone in a war with three larger nations. Individually, Bonstock could destroy anyone of them, but united, they might never be defeated, and Bonstock's fledgling Asian empire would be destroyed.

He sighed. "Well, lets do it."

The Admiral left, and went to his room. He thought of the consequenses of his decision.

The minisub was hoisted down, and splashed into the water. The crew dove it below the surface, and made for Yokohama harbor.

After a few hours, they made it.

In the meantime, Field Marshal Adolphus sent a transmission to Chai Jun.

I will arrive in your country by tommarrow. We can meet at your place of choice, provided that I am allowed a small contingent of BSS agents for protection.

He sent it, and then walked over to General Lung. "General, you are to be in charge of High Command in my abscence. I shall be back in a week or so, provided negotiations go as planned."

"Yes, sir."

"If anything happens to me, General, you will assume duties of President."

"Yes, sir. By the way, sir, we have some news from the embassy in Hu-kasa."

"What is it?"

"Some prominent East Islandian government officials wanted to assasinate Chai Jun and her predecessor. They sent a message to the BSS asking for help."

"Well... lets use this to our advantage. Say the conspirators were Japannese trying to frame Bonstock, divide us, and subsequently knock us off one by one."

"Yes, sir."

Field Marshal Adolphus, in full military uniform, went to his Gulfstream jet at the airport. He took off, and headed for Maropian Coast. Then he would go on to East Islandia.

"What are our alternatives?" General Shun asked Kiang over the intercom. Shun was in a secure area, right now, and he was speaking to Kiang via satellite intercom. The T-rays had checked up negative on the bugs, but everywhere else, the bugs were abounding, sent in by BOnstock via a stack of documents. Minister Zao and his staff managed to destroy a good deal of the bugs, but they still had to be careful with what they said and did.

Hence the reason that Shun had ordered his subordinates to carry out Plan V. Now, no one was sure about what was going on, except those who needed to be sure.

"By sea," Kiang replied. "Infantry wise, we have about twenty divisions in the Pacific theater, three on Hokkaido, four in Okinawa, and about thirteen scattered throughout the South. All major ports, including Shanghai and Hangzhou, are under heavy guard. We can get about twelve divisions on offense, and three airborne divisions are standing by. Target plans for all major Bonstockian cities and locales are being relayed via satellite, and we can blanket them in airstrikes within an hour.

"Naval and Air wise, though, may be our best bet. The new spidersteel reinforced and upgraded models managed to make it here in time, and luckily, those damned things arent as hard to fix as we thought they would be."

"But Bonstock doesnt know that," Shun pointed out. "For all they know, we could be flyin totally new planes with new pilots."

Unlike what was mentioned before, He Qianji was actually an experienced pilot from the Islandian Wars, and his unit was actually comprised of several elite sub-units with plenty of air time.

"Nonetheless, we have to make sure that they dont get reinforcements in," Kiang replied. "Every minute, every day allows them to reinforce, allows them to get stronger."

Aboard an Airbus A380 escorted by four J37X4s, Chai Jun rested her head. She had issued a communique to Agrigento asking PResident Mario Corleone to join them in the eastern island of Pai-Tong for negotiations. Pai Tong Dao was a beautiful beach ringed atoll with a number of luxury hotels built in traditional Japanese style. Even though the island had a Chinese name, the inhabitants were very much pro-Japanese.

Chai smiled. She had already ordered a full division of paramilitary police and National Police riot troops into place, and the place had more security than Fort Knox.

The Agrigentians had arrived on their own Airbuses several hours ago, and set up several snipers and security personnel in addition to the Islandians alrready there.

The A380 and its fighter escort settled down on the runway, taxiiing slowly to the terminal. Suddenly, an explosion rang out.

Chai found herself suddenly pushed to the floor, then roughly lifted as another explosion occured, terrifyingly close.

"Let's go!!" Lieutenant Weng shouted, hefting his Type 97 rifle. The security detail from the Central Guards Brigade pushed and shoved the diplomats out the emergency exit, where a ferocious gun battle was being waged with the unseen attackers.

Chai swore as she pulled out her own custom made Beretta. WHoever it was, they would pay.

As well as Bonstock, for trying to pull this off.

The WZM 551 IFVs fired, their 30mm cannons managing to shred several enemy jeeps. However, an American made TOW managed to slam into one of the IFV's treads, disabling it. The crew quickly evacuated and were picked up by another vehicle.

A pair of Agrigentian made A129 International attack helos roared overhead, firing a line of rockets into the rebel positions. A pair of modified Stinger missiles roared up from the ground and managed to hit one helo in the tail rotor and the main rotor, spinning it wildly out of control and into the ground, where it exploded, killing its crew instantly.

Mi171 and V4 helos quickly landed troops on the other side of the rebel positions, and a full Air Assault battalion was landed into the hills to the east, while tilt-rotor craft landed at the air terminal to evacuate the dignitaries already there. Type 98S9 tanks made their way to the airport from the east, their modified 120mm cannons roaring their disapproval of the assassination attempt on Leader Chai Jun.

At the airport, a WZM551 with a dark green dragon painted on the roof roared towards the plane's exit, its cannon belching fire at the assassins as it went, while several more APCs and a squad of HMMVW troops moved to cover them with their HJ8 and ATS missiles.

"Well, I think the best thing to do is to just keep going. Get to the island and the negotiations. Make it look normal."

"Yes. Thanks. Now keep monitering fo rmore events."

The field Marshal got out, and into his HMMWV. He drove down, reviewing troops of the 6th and 9th Airborne Divisions. Veterans of Nimbata and the Great Civil War, they looked confindent, ready for anything. The cheered as their leader passed, and he saluted them all with a smile on his face. They chanted, "For Bonstock! For Bonstock! On for Bonstock!"

After reviewing the troops, he left for his plane, and flew on to Pai-tong.

On board he recieved another phone call from General Lung.

"Sir, we have news of an explosion in Yokohama harbor. Sketchy reports of a large ship being torpedoed."

"Damn, what else is new?"

"I dunno."

"I almost feel like just getting the war over with. It seems inevitable now."

"We can't do that. Not without the deal."

Major Contadino quickly adjusted his aim and fired off two rounds. There was no noice. The SL9SD sniper rifle was nearly silent, with sound reduction ranked at about 100 dB. The 7.62 x 37 mm round slide through the targets light body armor, levelling him to the ground. The rebels tried to fire back but all for naught, as they could not identify the source of the incoming fire. He fired two more shots, dropping two more bewildered enemies. The Best Armor is Out of Range, he thought, reciting the motto of his unit. The AIA's Predatore Sniper Team. It was an old proverb, taken from the motherland (Italy), he did not know that, nor did he care. All that was on his mind was his mission. Protect the East Islandian Plane.

Shots continued to ring out from the top of the Hangar, where the Predatore team set up. About 1000 meters down range from the plane they kept on dropping soldiers, their bullets penetrating like a hot knife through butter.

A few hundred meters away from Contadino was another member of his team whose priority was certainly not keeping quiet. Sergeant Ianello's target was not an lightly armored infantry man totting RPG's or Kalashkinov assault rifles, but instead one of the rebel's only APCs. He placed a 15.2mm round into his Steyr IWS 2000 and quickly acquired a target. A tremendous boom rang out and the 20 gramm tungsten dart flew through the air with a muzzle velocity of 1450 meters per second. It penetrated the BMP's armor, and followed through the other side, unleashing serious secondary fragmentation in the vehicle's interior.

Chai swore, firing her Beretta at a dark shape that flitted close to their position near the plane. The man went down, and she fired again, this time at another figure to the right, armed witha CAR15. Lieutenant Weng and General Shun crouched nearby, Shun tending to the wounds of a soldier who was hit in the thigh, just below his flakvest, and Weng returning fire with his rifle. They had lost about two men already, and the civilians were as low as they could get, some screaming, some just lying there and wishing it would all end.

Chai pulled a Type 97 rifle off a dead soldier, and closed his eyes with her hands, before pushing his body over and using it as cover. She aimed through the sight, firing quick bursts and holding her breath as she did so, the way Colonel Tang taught her to in the Second Flag Reserve Forces twenty years ago.

They were advancing now, with APCs, American made ones by the look of it.

How did they manage to get APCs onto my island? Chai thought in frustration, switching to the underbarrel grenade launcher and firing a 35mm HE grenade at the vehicle.

"Dammit, agian, we're gonna be the scape goats. Damn plotters."

"I know."

"We must blame the Japannese for this. Say that only they could purpetrate such an act."

"Lieutenant Su, we have been awaiting you. Please come with me."

They went to a small room, where bunches of BSS agents stood. This city crawled with BSS agents from nearby Maropian Coast.

He was strapped to a chair and interrogated brutally. Guards repeated questions like "How many men does East Islandia have ready? Does East ISlandia want war? How many planes do they have? What the hell is this J10NX5? Who are you? What is your job? What is your rank? What ship do you serve on?"

The questions were repeated. The guards looked for any change in the answers as they repeated.

Su actually did not mind pain very much. THis one time, as an officer fighting the Japanese, a round penetrated his vehicle, setting him on fire, and killing the rest of his crew quickly. He had part of his nervous system, and save for his face and forearms, was badly burned through the skin. INdeed, he had never healed, and only survived by setting off a fire extinguisher and spraying it in all directions. That had not been too good for his wounds, and had done nothing to save his crew.

After that, nothing could hurt him; all other pain paled in comparison to that one time.

Still, he kept his answers consistent and told them the truth as far as he knew. It revolted him to be working with the Bonstockians, but he was doing what he had to in order to prevent the Japanese-lovers in Sumenya Hall to help the Japanese.

"I am Lieutenant Su, Third Lancers Division, based in Puchao in PRC China. I command the First Battalion, which was transferred two days ago to the Seventh Guards Mechanized Brigade, an elite infantry unit. I am defecting to you now because of my disagreement with my government and how they are helping the Japanese."

Su went on to list the details of what was going on, the specifications for the J10NX5, and the order of battle as far as he knew.

In the meantime, a dark shape flitted across nearby roofs undetected, its black masked figure nearly invisible against the dark night. The man hefted a silenced MP5SD5, and watched the building patiently.
All around him, his team set up, waiting for the perfect moment to disrupt the meeting and kill the agents and the traitor. Taiwanese intelligence agents were nearby, helping their Islandian comrades slip in undetected and provide backup if necessary.

The man watched, and his eyes narrowed.

Neither of you will ever have control of Tokyo. You have merely used this war as an excuse for Imperialism. We will resist, East Islandia will resist, China will resist, Japan will resist. Others will follow. You are merely ravaging a land already ravaged, tearing a place already war-torn, you are seeking to gain from other's miseries. For that, I am convinced, you are all guilty of war crimes. Imperialism is evil, perhaps the most evil thing a country can partake in next to wholesale genocide. Genocide is worse, but not by much.

Red Tide and Bonstock's claims to Tokyo are null and void. All claims to Japanese lands are null and void. Do not enfringe upon their territories or else you will find yourself at the edge of a sharp knife, a knife already bloodied and chipped by war.

Official statement from Acting Councilor Ku Kanwei of the Yi Guo (one nation) Party, acting councilor for Asian Unity:

Long have Asians been oppressed, dominated through the ages by outsiders, and not only outsiders. OUr own brethren have themselves been fallible to imperialism, as China showed in the 50s with TIbet and Xinjiang, as Japan showed in the 40s with their war, as Korea and Vietnam did in the 50s and 60s with their war against the southern portions of their divided countries.

Already we have suffered enough oppression and torment throughout the years to last a lifetime, no, THOUSANDS of lifetimes. And yet, once again, East Islandia, long a brave defender of Asia, with our intrepid, compassionate ally of Agrigento, find themselves on the brink of war.

And for what cause you may ask? Why, for the cause that our ancestors fought for years ago, a vague wisp of a dream denied even to those people who had nothing. Prior to the imperialistic takeovers, the would-be victims had only their pride, and then, once the foreign aggressor took over-not even that.

We have fought toe to toe with our enemies over imperialism, insisting compromise on all issues save this. Currently, PRemier Chai is on a trip in Pai-Tong Dao, trying to speak to the Bonstockians and reason with them, trying to deter our Asian comrades from a course of imperialism into a course of sanity and lucidity. Of course, our every vigiliant comrades, Agrigento and possibly some other nations in Asia, are willin to fight alongside us to resist the invasion.

The Politburo had also considered raising the Azn Resistance, but we are uncertain of htat course of action; the alliance is fractured, unsure, and we do not know how we wil perform together, as a group.

But know this, Bonstock, Red Tide, and all those who have tried to oppress weaker nations in Asia.

East Islandia and Agrigento will not stand for such nonsense, and our two nations, united as always, will triumph over the imperialists, as always. Even if we must engage our Asian comrades in another costly, civil war which pits Asian against Asian, force against force, and the absolute, stark evil of imperialism against good.

We will fight if it comes to that, and we will triumph.
************

The results came back in later that day. Three hundred of the three hundred sixty legislators in Sumenya Hall (three per province) voted in favor of resisting the imperialists. Nearly all of the legislators from Xin Guo and the ultranationalist wing desisted and voted against Ku's proposal.
The rest, about ten or so, were undecided.

Suketa Hall, the other part of the Islandian legislature, with holdings based on population, passed the document, with 790-4, 790 for and 4 against.
It was done then. Bonstock and Red Tide were to give up, or they would face war.
Nothing less.
The news was relayed to Pai-Tong Dao, where information was exchanged. Within the hour, East Islandia learned that their heroic leader, Premier Chai, had been seriously injured, possibly killed, by a massive assassination atttempt which also killed or incapacitated twenty four police and soldiers from the nearby garrison.
Chai's life hung in the balance, and in her absence, the Deputy Foreign Minister would carry on the talks.

All of Islandia was enraged, and protestors flocked the streets, denouncing Bonstock, Red Tide, even Japann-but almost always calling for unity, and if not unity, then war. Riots carried on in Hu-kasa for days, and in the nearby regions of Phonago Lagoon, Pao-chien Islands, and Erdana, all major cities. The National Police's Special Response Group-Riot Division was called out, as well as all local precincts, and it was over in a matter of days.

OOC: It appears that the war is not yet over.

Miyako, 0945

The red Japannese morning sun danced slowly from the horizon. General Liu returns to HQ escorted by the men from the 80th Airbornes that had reinforced him. The camouflage war paint still clinging on his face, his eyes were clearly bloodshot. Not so much the anger, but just tired. It looks as though the battle is over, but the war has barely begun. He decides to cleanse himself before he greets his guests.

At the front, the battle may be over but the corpses of men and tanks littered the streets and fields. Tanks mangled by the HE, gnarled and twisted, accompanied the countless corpses of uniformed men. Private Smith, waded through the ankle deep debris. Sinoese men, Japannese men, tanks of all types, his eyes showed grief.

"Hey soldier, how many of our men did you count as dead?" Sergeant Wong shouted from a distance.

"I've got about 50, Sarge!" Smith replied, his grief can be heard.

"Soldier, don't be such a damn wuss. They died for their cause. As for the damn Japs, we'll get their civvies to do the damn burial."

The Sinoese reinforcements arrived to help with burying the dead. Most of the soldiers that had fought but did not die were simply dead tired. Liu had issued them 8 hours of rest.

"Dig! Maggots, DIG!" Corporal Zhou was shouting at the Japannese POWs as they could barely understand him. His Type 79 SMG's muzzle pointed at the POWs, digging, digging for their own graves. Earlier, one had tried to attack him with a shovel and he had no hesitation in killing that Jap with the SMG. He remembers the war stories of passed on by word of mouth, from his great grandfather, who served in the ROCA during the WWII. He remembers the vivid details of Japanese atrocities. He began to cradle his weapon with hate. At 500 square metres, the enemy soldiers, still in their uniforms, dug. Those who could not work were kicked in the stomach by Sinoese troops and ordered to get the hell up and resume working. It was to be 1.5m deep.

"Great grandfather, you will have your revenge." He said to himself in Chinese.

An hour has passed, Gen. Liu arrived at the site with an interpretor. He walks up to the lecturn, but the Type 81 SAW (7.62x39mm) was still in his hands. He sees that all the POWs were in the pit, standing and fearing.

"All of you are standing in your own grave!" The General announced in English and paused for the interpretor to finish. "You will all pay for your crimes against us during WWII. Your great grandfathers, grandfathers and ancestors have tried to wipe out the Chinese race and conquer our lands. You though that we cannot retaliate. But looks who's the wimp now?! You subhumans will pay for the crimes committed by your ancestors. At least we won't torture you in any gruesome way, unlike what your ancestors had done to us, but rest assured, justice will be served. ALL UNITS WILL OPEN FIRE!!!" His voice bellowed with hate through the loudspeakers.

As soon as the General announced the firing order, a deafening chatter of at least twenty machineguns and numerous assault rifles and submachine guns filled the air and could be heard many kilometers away. The General, behind his SAW, mowed down the defenseless Japannese with no remorse, but just anger. his surordinates followed with the ame actions and emotion. They were wearing ear muffs to protect them from the deafening fire but also from hearing the pathetic groans their dying enemies.

An awkwardly large package arrived by airmail. It was lengthy. General Liu had waited long for what is expected. He opened the package, inside was the Chinese copy of the Mauser k98 7.92mm rifle (Type 24) of German origin and dated 1936 there were some matching ammo in the package as well. The ROCA used this to fight the Japanese in WWII. He thinks back to those stories told by his grandfather by his grandfather about fighting the Japanese. He was only a small boy. Now as man, General Liu had ordered from a museum to have one of these rifles restored for one final purpose.

He opens the bolt, loads the rounds and closes the bolt. When they catch that scum named Akibura, he'll be the judge and executioner. He will execute this war criminal on behalf of the Chinese people with the rifle that had stood as a symbol of the Chinese resistance against the Japanese.

President Akibura sat down his "throne" in the now empty parliament. HE struggled to maintain a grip on his cup of coffee which he was supposed to drink hours ago. The men died honorably. he thought repeatedly to himself.

The cruelty and effectiveness of the Sinoese military had suprised him. For the first time since the beginning of the war, he began to ponder the possibility of Japann's defeat.

"No. This will not happen. Japann shall triumph."

He wandered over onto the map of the Miyako battlefield. Reading the latest news regarding Bonstock, he thought of a devious plan.

The Field Marshal would not know of the recent developments. At least one of the BSS agents had gotten away.

In Taipei, teh car sped down the road. The area had already been staked out by the BSS, using information from the agent. The Bonstocknians would be avenged. Someone aimed an RPG launcher at the road. The car came. Another agent gave the signal that it was coming. The man aimed, and squeesed the trigger. Then he took a bomb, and placed it by the RPG. He left, and remotely detonated the bomb. Then he got in a car, and sped for Maropian Coast, still miles away.

In Maropian Coast, a man reported some guys landing on the beach with a briefcase. The BSS quickly quarantined the area, and martial law was put in order. The 4th Infantry Division was tasked with finding the agents, and they entered the quarantined area.

The Field Marshal stepped off the helicopter, and his Gripens flew back to the airport. Six BSS guards surrounded him. One of them had a cargos destined for Ms. Chai and Agrigento's President. Bugs, disguised as bacteria. It would make them sick for a day, and transmit what they said, heard, and even thought, if it could get to the central nervous system. Bonstocknian scientists had truely outdone themselves with this one.

"Where is Premier Chai?" demanded Adolphus to an East Islandian.

"She is not avaliable at the moment. I am the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, [insert random Chinese name here]. I will hold the talks wiht you."

"All right. But I would like to meet the Premier directly after preliminary talks."

"Fine with me, if she is avaliable."

Adolphus' cell phone rang. "Excuse me for a moment."

The call on a secured channel. "Sir, the East Islandians have voted against the compromise, Premier Chai was wounded in an assasination attempt, and anti-Bonstock riots are breaking out in East Islandia. Still no word from Agrigento."

"General Lung, should we go to war now?"

"It seems all is lost. There may be no choice."

"I have an idea. I will personally visit Ms. Chai, and make sure a lot of reporters are there."

"If you can. Let's see what we can arrange."

Adolphus hung up. "Sir," he said to the East Islandian, "I would like to personally visit Ms. Chai. I hear she has been wounded in battle, and I belief that it is my duty as a fellow national leader to meet with her."

Qiao shook his head; blood was still dripping from a cut on his forehead, and dried blood trails were evident on his face. Shun and he had agreed that they could not allow the Bonstockians to visit her in person, given their penchant for duplicity; Shun, with all his years of experience, knew better than to trust the Bonstockians.

"She has sustained third degree burns and a multitude of stray bullet wounds," Qiao replied. "Currently, she is undergoing surgery performed by some of the best surgeons in Asia, and the prognosis is not good. However, if optimal conditions are achieved, talks may begin in several hours, after the surgery is completed; she was adamant about this, carrying out talks even in her weakened condition so that we may prevent war."

Qiao bowed slightly to Adolphus, and called for an aide to take Adolphus' delegation to his suite. Several craters littered the surrounding area, and the stark image of tank treads and heavily armed, grim faced troops permeated the area.

"If there is nothing else you require, I will be leaving for my communications officer," Qiao said. "I need to coordinate with my immediate superior, as well as Vice Premier Soon Hyemin."

The car was heavily damaged by the shockwave of the RPG; luckily, the Taiwanese intelligence services managed to donate the Islandian operatives a very highly armored vehicle, so the men inside were unhurt. Su boarded a modified military transport for Rugola, escorted by four J10NX5s.

Four Su 47 Berkuts, purchased secretly many years ago by Bonstock, took off from a deserted highway in Maropian Coast. They kicked in the afterburners and got nearly to the Straits of Tsushima, then sped south to intercept the transport, and shoot it down. They flew fast and low, and then jumped up on the transport and its escorts. Three of them engaged the J10NX5s in a dogfight, while the other one went for the transport. They were too close for missiles, so the pilot used his cannon.

When it was over, they were to go north again, and ditch off the coast of Japann, to be picked up by a Bonstocknain minisub. If the planes were found, they had Japannese markings, and would incriminate Japann.

"Boogies," Lt. Anh reported.
"Roger," Commander Tranh replied. "Our Bonstockian friends, perhaps?"
"Probably," Leader Wu replied. "Anh, Naomi, Sao, go for the fighters. I'll stay with the transport.
"Cloudwatch, this is Vermilion Squadron, we are under attack by Su47s. We can hold them off, but we need backup, fast."
"Roger, Vermilion. J37s from Broadsword Squadron off Vortex are inbound, ETA half a minute. Hold them off for that long," the controller aboard the Cloudwatch AWACS replied.
"Japanese dont use S37s," Wu muttered to himself as he fired off three of his ASXs at an incoming fighter.
The transport, actually a modified H9, simply opened its bay, launching five Anshu X9s which roared straight for the incoming S37. The Anshu was originally a SAM with performance comparable to the French Aster, but the X9 was about twice as fast and had a higher hit probability against fast movers.
"Gun the engines!" Wu shouted. "MOVE!"
The H9 turned towards the direction of Mainland China and hit the throttle, moving at Mach 2.9. Naomi detected the silhouettes of the incoming J37s, high performance FSW fighters superior to S37s, and sighed in relief.
She fired off two of her ASXs and Short Range Advanced Engagement Missiles/Air (SRAEM/A), while Sao fired off four PL12S8s.

The twelve J37s from Broadsword Squadron, conducting a CAP over the carrier Vortex, five klicks away, fired off their LRAEM/A missiles, taking full advantage of their BVR capabilities.

Naomi smiled. It was time to shoot some Bonstockians down. The S37s didnt fool anyone; Japann using S37s would be about as likely as Naomi being shot down in a dogfight.

Zero.

"Roger, lead."

These were the elite of the elite. The agressor squadron of the Bonstocknian Air Force. The training was rigorous, but it paid off. Few Bonstocknian training pilots ever nabbed one, and those who did got shot down in quick order. These elite men were doing a combat mission for the first time as a group. But they were ready from training pilots day in and day out.

They were not about to be defeated either.

"Incoming missiles!"

"Turn around them! We can out maneuver these big things."

Then a random Bonstocknian station in Maropian Coast decided to jam the missiles and send them against the enemy fighter. Bonstocknian technology could do that these days.

As the fighers turned in on eachother in a classic dogfight, Peter dove away, and aimed his guns at the transport. He squeezed the trigger.

"Inbound fighers! What the hell, they have Berkuts too!"

"Damn. But this is good intel."

Time froze. Peter kept firing at the transport with his 30mm cannon. Then a missile came streaming by, only to be jammed and fly out of control. These gunfighters would not be silenced today.

Meanwhile, High Command monitered the situation.

"General Lung, we have reports of a new Islandian fighter comparable to the S 37 Berkut."

"Well, what is it?"

"Seems like a Chinese copy."

"Well, this could be interesting. Did we ge the transport?"

"Not sure."

"Do they think we're Japannese?"

"Don't know. Intercepted radio transmissions are telling us otherwise."

"Damn. This would be a pretext for war if they found out. Alert all forces. How far away is our fleet?"

"Just passing Hawaii, sir. They'll arrive in Maropian Coast in a few days."

"Good. As soon as they do, we must fortify defenses. Tell the divisions to hold at all cost. And have them train Maropians to do the fighting."

"Yes, sir."

ooc: J37's are not at like S37s, although East Islandia has those too.
Its impossible to jam a missile being fired from within Gun Range from a ground facility, especially those supersonic missiles. Maybe your plane's chaff would be able to, but at that distance pilot reaction time would be nil. You would have been much better off by launching some BVRAAMs at the bomber before they even knew you were there.

No modern Tech can ever make enemy missiles change targets and go after those who launched them. Not from that distance, not to those missiles....

Believe me...ARCHER missiles in such a close dogfight = all your base are belong to them.

Just doing some math....

Lets assume that since they are in gun range they are about 5,000 yards away. That is roughly equivilent to 4,572 meters.

The Missiles that he is using go well above Mach 3. Mach 3 = 994.866 meters per second (m/sec).

It would take those missiles less than 4.59... seconds to hit your planes.

IC: The taskforce stopped 105 miles away from Tokyo. The massive 18inch guns on the G-battleships turned towards shore. Then they shot off 12 volleys... most of these(6 out of 12 of them) volleys were targetted at shore guns and missile emplacements.(okay thats 6 guns per G-battleship so 12x6x12) Then each M-battleship released 22 KUDZU model 1 GPS guided cruise missiles each 4 of these were targetted at the Tokyo Tower.

OOC:Before you complain about the range of my battleships let it be known that if the Iowa class battleships were outfitted with the latest in technology not only would they be DEADLY accurate(like mine) but could fire at targets least 100 miles away. ooc: No you misunderstand me...5 seconds is not enough time for the plane to even respond to their commands. Chaff rockets take a minimum of 3 seconds just to arm. It would be next to impossible for your ground stations to even realize the missile was there let alone divert its course.

At that range if they tried to maneuver they would definately be beaten by those missiles, no one can dodge them like that...No one. Active Guidance, Supersonic speed, hit-to-kiss Aster based system....no chance in hell. The Asters are designed to literally impact enemy supersonic missiles.

And keep in mind the sheer training these guys have. No cognative thought is going on in their heads. They're like machines, going off of years of training. These guys beat Berkuts with T-38s! There is no equal in the Bonstocknain Air Force.

But it doesn't matter. What matters is that my airplanes are tying East Islandia down in a dogfight while one of them goes after the transport. Then they leave. I dont care if they don't shoot down a single EI fighter, all I want is that they down the transport and leave!

And EI, if you wanna keep your charachter and he really feels no pain, then let him fall to the ground and splash down in water. It won't kill him, but the pain would kill a lesser person.

General Liu has announced today that the ARSCF will not suspend operations into the depths of Japann despite the rather heavy casualties at Miyako only two days ago.

Sinoese troops on patrol in the streets of Miyako have been seen threatening Japannese civilians with flamethrowers as some areas trapped pockets of pathetic resistance. Some corpses of the dead rebels were publically displayed by being hung by their wrists on lamp posts. The Sinoese have suspended the availability of water and electricity to the Japannese civilians in their areas of occupation.

Sinoese WZ-9 attack helicopters are in the air along with H-8 bombers and J-12s fighters as a new round the clock bombing of Northern Honshu has just begun. Groundforces have also continued their advance through Northern Honshu and the there have been reports of Sinoese units rampaging through civilian populated areas as many had wanted to revenge for Japan's attempted destruction of the Chinese race in WWII.

Chai Jun, heavily wrapped in bandages and speaking via closed circuit video camera from her hospital room, grimaced. She was actually less banged up than she appeared, but nonetheless, she had to play the part of wronged leader as to draw on her own nation's fears.

Of course, if Bonstock were to suggest that Premier Chai was not as wounded as she was or that she was faking it, then Islandians would not be so happy... they may even begin to suspect the devious Swedes of doing more than just sending those S37s at the H9 and its escorts.

Shun had given her news several minutes before of how H9X-ZU577 and its escorts, four J10NX5s from Vermilion Squadron, were attacked by S37s bearing Japanese markings.

Japann did not have any S37s. Or at least not anymore; Islandian J37s and J16s had taken care of those in the war.

"It is not the spoils of war that is the problem," Chai replied, shifting in her bed on her bad arm. "We cannot allow you to fight this war with the sort of mindset that you're in; a sizeable portion of Islandians are Japanese, or at least moderates who would instantly join our services if they felt that any imperialist nation was trying to repeat history."

"Nor is it the 'division of allies' issue," Shun said, replying to Bonstock's allegation that Japann was trying to divide the nations. "First off, it was a squadron of Bonstockian fighters who provoked Japanese air defences during the start of the war, leading to the downing of several Japanese, Islandian, and Agrigentian aircraft, all of which were suspiciously towed away by Bonstockian ships, even after the survivors were rescued and the hulks bombed by satchel charges thrown from the rescue helos. Likewise, a group of S37s have jumped our forces near Taiwan, forces in international airspace near the Chinese mainland. We are not sure who it is, but we are sure of one thing; Japann does not use S37s, or does not have any left. We saw to that in the air war."

"Likewise, Japan is hardly our true enemy," Qiao stated. "Sino has occupying forces in Japan, and we have stationed forces in Hokkaido and Okinawa, forces that are about to defeat the Japanese remnants-if there are any left. We will have to rebuild Japan, not cut it up as a piece of the pie."

"Furthermore, that will cast us as hypocrites," Chai replied. "We have long resisted imperialism, and it is not for us to stand down when another of our traditional allies, and, at times, enemies, is being threatened.
"So it stands. There will be no compromise, and I hope I speak for Agrigento when I say that we will accept nothing less than Bonstock and Red Tide evacuating their forces."

J37s are not S37s; im sry for the confusion, but i couldnt find very many numbers. J37s are lighter, faster, and more manueverable, with features like canards, Forward Swept Wings, 5th generation thrust-vectoring, spidersteel construction, Mach 3.5, full view digitized crystal HUD linked with a fifth generation Helmet MOunted Sight with the 'turn and shoot option' newly installed, courtesy of Agrigento, and active missile countermeasures which take the form of little laser beams that shoot at warheads (of course, these things are not always very successful), and active radar jamming.

All of these features, save the FSW part, are also employed on J10NX5s flown by Vermilion Squadron and nearly half the Naval aviation units. In terms of performance, J10NX5s are about as manueverable as J37s, thanx to their advanced thrust vectoring and canards, but are slower in pursuit and do not have FSW or supercruise.

Back to the dogfight.

The J37s of Broadsword Squadron swooped in, firing their R73s at close range and even arming SRAEM/As. At this range, several planes were hit by spread damage from explosions, but the triple reinforced spidersteel/kevlar/titanium/carbon fiber construction kept most of it in the green range.

Two J37s were damaged badly by wild gun bursts and several Bonstockian AAMs, and had to RTB. The remaining ten stayed, and fought.

We wish, however, to capture the city as an effort to help you in the war. But we have stated before that all we really want is our claims to the Sakishima islands. These islands hold a place in Bonstock's civil war. They were given to the Revolutionary Bonstocknians during the civil war, for use as a base to destroy the last government holdouts in Maropian Coast, Taiwan. Thirty thousand Bonstocknian lives were lost in the struggle to take that island, all in a matter of days. Moreover, in the time that we have held the Sakishimas, the population has grown to live with Bonstock. We have been teaching the children Swedish and we have assimilated the population into Bonstocknian society. The place has enjoyed great properity as a resort for Bonstocknain tourists. They ditched near Taiwan, and set charges to thier planes. BSS motorboats picked them up, and took them to Taiwan. The aircraft exploded as the BSS took the men back to Maropian Coast for another mission.

Islandian and Agrigentian air pilots (who train closely together) have some of the most demanding instructors in NS. You may be able to brag about superhuman training, but we put a lot more emphasis on applying and utilizing their training, and we rig the odds against them so much that at least 10 percent in regular forces either decide to transfer to paramilitary police or Second Flag Reserve, or just drop out. first, i would like to commend Bonstock for thinking so fast on the fly and typing with super fingers.

That having been said, i would also like to say that yes, they had enough time to react. They even had enough time to call up a squadron from a nearby carrier, which first fired LRAEM/As from extremely long range, and then closed...so i would say max duration for this was two minutes perhaps? And the 'transport' is actually an H9 supersonic bomber modified to loook like a fat lumbering thing. I know i'll sound dumb, but i was kinda hoping you would go for the transport with Su aboard, so i decided to use a bomber and some planes as escort... sorry i didnt mention it before.

Likewise, T38 v S37 is... unlikely? We rig the odds against our pilots too, but there are 'some battles which should not be fought, some orders which should not be obeyed, and some cities which should not be taken.' In other words, if ur in a T38 and ur enemy in a S37... surrender. Or pray and hope they dont see u, or bail out in sight of land or friendly forces.

Well, i dont doubt your pilots, but also your tactics were a bit skewed, no offense. Like, they were using guns. On supersonic planes.
That doesnt work.
And if we dont have the edge in training, then we prob have a combined edge in technology. "There is no current war, Field Marshal," Chai said weakly from her room. Despite her feigned injuries, she was still in real pain from having a number (albeit less than thought) of wounds from the assassination attempt. "Japann is dying, and Sino is taking control. "More news from the front. First of all, the operation to destroy the Japannese transport failed. The transport was a bomber, flying to fast."

"Well, the men have the blood of our agents on their hands. Get some covert ops guys in this."

"Yes sir. Secondly, we have intelligence that Japann has MX missiles, nuclear tipped, ready to fire."

Adolphus gasped. "Surely they cannot target Bonstock or Maropian Coast, for we have adequate missile defences. But what if that thing is fired at the Sinoese fleet, or our fleet!"

"The fleets would be destroyed, sir."

Adolphus thought for a moment. This was bad news. Any landing force would be crushed.

"There is only one way to stop this. We must launch an airstrike at the missile silos."

"It may be too late for that, sir."

"Then there is only one thing to do. We must send in our EMPs and stop Japann from launching."

"That is a possibility, sir. One of our destroyers can fire some missiles."

"This is dangerous. After the EMPs, initiate the final phases of Operation Harbor Porpoise."

"Yes sir."

Off the coast of Japann, 10 missiles were fired. Each had an EMP warhead, and were to knock out Tokyo's power and command ability. Hopefully this would buy some time for the nukes to be destroyed. Meanwhile, transport planes started to build up in Maropian Coast bases. Their purpose was still unclear to anyone looking down.

Transport planes started thier engines. It would be a long flight for all 200 of them, spread out over four bases.

These were no ordinary transports. These were the new Strategic Lift Planes, each carrying some 150 paratroopers. They had delta wings and criused near the speed of sound. (ooc: I got a pic if you want to see it)

The aircraft slowly taxied onto the runways. They took off into the night sky.

The 4th Infantry Division below still scrambled to find the divers. They started to search peoples identification cards, and looked for any irregularities. The BSS stepped up operations to identify three men living alone probably in a hotel or cheap apartment, reportedly 5'6" Asian males mid 30s, slight build, more Japanese looking then Taiwanese or minority Swedes who lived in Maropian Coast. Individuals, especially tourists, were questioned by agents trained by Israeli guards (ooc: and dammit do those Israelis have some tough guards). They swarmed airports, hotels, and anywhere vulnerable. For the first time, Bonstock had a terror alert level. It went to Code Red: Extreme Risk of Terrorist Act. Anyone who went to an airport was thouroughly searched and questioned. Questions were repeated over and over again to find any variations in the story. Any flights to Japan, Korea, or Siberia were cancelled. Meanwhile, the BSS started stepping up operations in other East Asian countries. If they got beyond security, they were not home free.

We demand that you step up security in your airports and seaports. We have reason to believe that three men with a suitcase nuclear weapon are wandering about in our colony at Maropian Coast, Taiwan. They will likely try to escape, and we will make sure they cant. Be on the lookout for motorboats along the coast. If they are unidentified, search them, and question the people on the boat.

We do this for our mutual security.

Meanwhile, along the coast, patrol boats and Visby corvettes zipped around, securing the shores from hostile escape boats. Barbed wire was strewn along the beaches, along with mines and machine gun nests. It was like a war zone. Many of these divisions were Maropian infantry divisions which had just participated in the invasion of Bonstock. Thirty of them were activated to search for anyone suspicious and to guard the shores from any invaders. It gave a whole new meaning to the term "Homeland Security."

"This is BSTV news. We are hearing more news of the homeland security crisis in Maropian Coast today. Apparently, four eyewitnesses claim to have seen three Japannese frogmen wade onto the shore some time ago. Though it may be a hoax, the government is taking no chances. The Bonstocknian 6th and 9th Airborne Divisions, along with the 4th Infantry Division, have now trained 30 Maropian Divisions. These units were made for the civil war, and turined into training units when the civil war ended. Now they are back in action.

"It is thought that thse frogmen have a nuclear device. This has caused alarm in High Command, and prompted the massive build-up. Though it may be that these new formations are the result of the increased tensions in the area. In East Islandia today, Field Marshal Adolphus said these words."

Image flips to Adolphus in East Islandia, still in military uniform. "We believe that this build up will keep Maropian Coast safe from terrorists and from invasion. They will only be used in the defense of Maropian Coast, and not in any aggressive military campaign."

Message to Red Tide:

Thank you for acceting our offer. Our fleets should be rendezvoused by now.

Meanwhile, the government started using radiation detectors on hotels, trying to find a suitcase nuclear weapon. Every hotel was marked for this spontaneous checking. Anyone who switched hotels in this time period would be brought into questioning, especially groups of men travelling together.

The aircraft flew over Okinawa, and pressed on to the upper Ryukyus. Then the ships offshore fired a 40 missiles each. Eight hundred missiles flew to Tokyo, to strike various targets, mostly bunkers, powerplants, and troop concentrations. Hopefully the EMPs had already thrown Tokyo into disorder.

"Flash from Maropian Coast. Radiation detectors have found a possible nuclear device in a local hotel room. The bomb is being tested right now to see if it is the bomb that was thought to be delivered by Japannese frogmen. Arrest warrents have been issued for three tourists who were in the hotel room, but had left the building by the time the bomb was found. The men are supposedly about 5'6" tall, of slight build, known to be from Japann. Sketches of the men have been released. (image flashes to the sketchs). It took some time for the artillary of the divisions to completly form up, and for the brigades to get together. By now, the Bonstocknian 6th and 9th Airborne Divisions havd completly landed, their planes flying to high to get shot at much. The EMPs must have had an effect on Japannese air defense control.

The Brigades of the 6th Infantry pushed into Yokohama, to secure the port facilities, hopefully intact. Standing between them and the port was a smaller, but still potent force, especially in urban warfare. It would not be wise to give battle in such a confined area. Especially with memories of Port Yuko still fresh in the minds of these soldiers.

They wore a strange uniform. They wore brown winter trenchcoats and Russian bearskin hats, and, with their SMGs, looked right out of Stalingrad. Their brigades of 3,000 drunken men each proceeded in a disorderly fashion to the port facilities. They were about to meet the enemy.

A new strategy was devised by the commander of the two divisions, Major General Carl Larrson. He decided to hold two of the brigades of the 6th Division in reserve, and send in the 1st Brigade of the division only. The brigade marched forth, into the frying pan.

In a room somewhere in Honshu, General Chiba hurried down into the basement. In his way stood a 12-inch thick steel door. Not to worry, he thought. The door could not be blasted open without destroying the whole facility. He leaned close to a laser on the side of the door for the security scan.

"Retina scan complete." the computer said. "Welcome General Chiba."

He sighed a breath of relief. The computer was programmed to bar access to the room if the retina was incorrect.

Once inside, he entered the codes Akibura had given him into the computer. A series of bright lights lit up on the screen while the door closed behind him.

"Hai." he thought. He began typing frantically onto the computer.
Target: 209010
District: Miyako
Warhead: Four MX ICBMs, 25 kiloton warhead
Range: 870km
Are you sure? Yes

An image of the Sinoese base camp loaded onto the screen, with the Sinoese carrier fleet visible to the North.

"Sayonara, Sinoese pigs."

Sinoese spy satellites traced the image and signal of the ICBM since it was launched:

"What the f-!" A radar operator sees the image and the INTEL regarding such a monstrosity. "Sir, ICBM approaching! Looks like an MX... MIRVs!" He could not contain his fear.

The quiet of the communications facility suddenly rose up in a wild symphony of keys typing. Soon, the J-9s of the ARSAF took flight. Their mission- to intercept the warhead upon re-entry, if possible.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/china/images/fc-1_1.jpg

"Don't sound the alarm just yet, get Liu here. All of you, try to hack into its control. We might be able to prevent it from re-entry, they only useInertial, plus computer controlled PBV." ARSAF Col. Wu suddenly realized what countermeasures are best taken. "All units keep calm. Do not alert other units as we must never create panic."

General Liu bursts in. His face flushed with anxiety.

"Oh crap! They're goign to nuke Sino!" I suggest we begin retaliating.

"Not yet, sir." Wu corrected him. "There is still a chance that we can screw 'em over with the GPS so that they can't target us."

"Sir, I've got it." A female voice rosed up sharply. "We've managed to hack in and replace the GPS co-ordinates, let the targets be the Pacific Ocean for now."

"Good work, soldier." General Liu congratulated. "Let's keep it up."

"Next," Col. Wu takes command "we must hack into the command and force it to smack into one of their own satellites, if applicable. If not, just let is fly on and runs out it fuel."

"Sir, I've located a Japannese spysat nearby. Could use a little crash testing." An electronic warfareman reported.

"Sir, we're in. INTEL confirms, missiles is out off the atmosphere an in outerspace. Not too far from us. ETA 9 seconds. We're doomed!!!" His colleague reported.

"No we ain't! It just made a fly past. The course has been altered!" Another of the subordinates reported.

"Close shave." General Liu said calmly. The anxiety was gone.

Col. Wu checks the status. "Looks like it's due to circumnavigate back here in two hours, just smack it into any satellites that belong to Japann. They are already trying to get it back."

"Sir, two Jap sats over the Arctic." The female voice responded to the order.

"Just do it!" General Liu overrode the colonel's command.

3,000 men moved forth, towards the port facilities. They marched into downtown Yokohama, to find an enemy brigade sized force holding the area.

The artillary was readied, but not used. Not yet. Instead, the two other brigades of the 6th Airborne Division moved in from the flanks, which had been secured on either side by the brigades of the 9th Airborne Division. They linked up in the port areas, surrounding the downtown area. They found the harbor abandoned, with ships having withdrawn, possibly to Tokyo. A few cargo ships were captured, with nothing but exports on them. A little action had been seen by the divisions while closing the gap and while probing the downtown area. Seven Bonstocknian soldiers were dead, and 95 wounded, all being evacuated by helicopter to the Bonstocknian fleet offshore.

The brigades waited. Some 3,000 Japannese were believed to be in the downtown area, possibly more. Either they would surrender, or force battle upon them. General Larrson was in a difficult position. He knew that the Japannese, unless they surrendered confused, would be potent by morning, when they figured out what the hell was going on. Hopefully, that would not come soon, and they would surrender, disorganized and confused. Then the harbor could be cleared for use by the fleet.

Above them, Bonstocknian JAS 39s patrolled unchallenged. Japann could not do anything to stop them, as the EMPs must have knocked out their communications and radars. When they got up, the Gripens would be waiting for them.

(ooc: At any given time, Japann, assume that 18 Gripens are in the air flying CAP).

Japann seemed still unable to repond, probably unaware of the recent events thanks to Bonstocknian EMPs. It was decided that the harbor was secure. Targetting computers located warships in Tokyo harbor. They were fired at with more missiles, some of them with more EMPs. Then the Bonstocknian cargo ships, 50 of them, entered the harbor, with some 20 escorting destroyers. They docked at the intact harbor facilities, discharging some 20,000 men. Among them was the Bonstocknian 3rd Infantry Division, with some 500 trucks and 75 155mm howitzers. They started pressing towards Tokyo, still black from the EMPs. Behind them, Red Tide cargo ships came to discharge all of their forces.

"Yes."

"I'm gonna fly back to Bonstock. Don't disturb me please. I want to sleep."

"All right. Good night, sir."

The 3rd Infantry Division had by now gotten near Tokyo, and was starting to encounter sparodic resistance from Japannese fighters, but no organized resistance had occured. As Red Tide landed their 200,000 men, Bonstocknian C-17s began to load men of the 1st and 2nd Infantry Divisions to land at Narita when it was secure. "They've done it," General Shun reported to Chai Jun, who lay in bed, typing at her display. "Them and Red Tide have invaded Japan."

Chai sighed. "It was bound to happen, one of these days. The pressing concern is how to stop them before war breaks out between our nations, not between them and Japan."

"The thing is, Premier, we can let them take care of the Japanese for us," Intelligence Minister Ang announced. "The only thing is, we'll have to insist on taking reconstruction duties and dislodge them peacefully before they entrench themselves in some of the best harbors in East Asia."

"How is the infiltration of Bonstock going?" Chai asked.

"Our operatives are having immense difficulty getting into the higher Bonstockian ranks, so we have decided to infiltrate experimental microparticle camera groups into Bonstockian C4I and strategic facilities. Likewise, we are stepping up security in case the Bonstockians decide to infiltrate us in return, with something besides those damned bugs that seem to be flying around so often nowadays."

Chai nodded. "Keep up the flow of information, Minister." She turned to Shun. "Reinforce Okinawa and our positions in Hokkaido, as well as China. What forces can we send?"

"About two more Marine Amphibious Assault Groups," Shun replied. "And the Eighth Guards Armored Division is in Mainland China right now, preparing to move into HOkkaido; ETA until the entire unit arrives is about five days. Likewise, the Third Lancers will be moved to Okinawa or perhaps staging areas in Korea or Shandong for a quick, cross strait action."

"Do it," Chai replied. "Anything to make sure that Japan will not be under the Bonstockian dogs. Land the troops on the southern coast, if you can; Shu informs me that that part of Japan is unoccupied. How is public opinion?"

"In an uproar," Ang replied. "We suspect that Bonstock knew of this, but did not do anythign to tell us prior to the attempt. There are at least four suspected plotters, from Xin Guo and Chi Hsin, and we will probably put them under arrest soon."

"Organize a resistance in Japan," Shun advised. "it is the easiest. OUr special forces troops aided the resistance fighters in Japan before, and we can call them up again, since we did help them relocate entire cells and pockets of resistance from area to area."

"Tell them to lay low for now," Chai replied. "The shit will hit the fan after Bonstock and Red Tide conquer the entire country. Meanwhile, issue a communique to Bonstock and Red Tide, and tell all of Islandia the truth behind the assassination attempt."

"Which was?" Minister Qiao asked.

"What Minister Ang said," Chai replied. "That Bonstock knew and didnt do anything about it."

"But thats an assumption!" Qiao protested.

"Do it anyways," Chai ordered. "We're going to gamble, but hopefully, we'll gamble correctly and win this one."

Field Marshal Adolphus arrived in Bonstock, still tired. The 3rd Infantry was still only encountering sparodic resistance, and had reached Narita airport. Some 34 Bonstocknians were now dead and 123 were wounded, all about to be flown out by the C-17s now taking off for Japann.

Adolphus went down to the High Command bunker. He was confronted by General Lung.

"Sir, our bugs have picked up disturbing news. Chai Jun has spies infultrating Bonstock."

"I'm sure they'll try to bug this place. I want everyone here to have close screening, and I want the place sealed off. Everyone is to be scanned for bugs or enemy agents. No one will penitrate this place, understood?"

"Yes, sir. But our plans are going well. We've taken Narita airport with little resistance, thanks to new tactics."

"And those are?"

"We send squads of troops to seek out individual Japannese soldiers, and disarm them in their sleep. Silently of course."

"Ah yes. Good idea bringing in the knives."

"Yes. But also, intelligence has picked up that 4 East Islandian divisions have landed in southern Honshu."

"Well, then we must send in divisions to take Osaka before they can get there. Is 2nd Division ready?"

"Yes. Second Division is now flying to Japann."

"Use as many trucks as we can find, een captured ones, to get them to Osaka and Kyoto. I want both of those cities taken before East Islandia gets them. But I am unsure why there is so little resistance from the Japannese."

"Our EMPs, perhaps?"

"Probably. They have no way of controlling themselves. All they are now are isolated units ripe for us to destroy. Take Tokyo before the night is over and they figure out what the hell is going on. And make sure they surrender to us."

"Yes, sir."

Dozens of C-17s landed at Narita, with 1st and 2nd Divisions onboard. There were now 5 divisions in Japann, each with some 15,000 troops, organized into three infantry, one artillary, and one support brigade of 3,000 men each.

"Generalfeldmarschall, we have a new enemy. Tokarev is now mobilizing all of their forces to destroy us."

"October nation? We'll make quick work of them. Where are the carriers?"

"Two are in the combat zone, and we have more ready."

"Good. But lets do something different. Send in some bombers to attack their carriers and battleships. If we can knock them out quick, then we'll certainly cripple their war effort."

"Yes, sir."

20 B-1 bomber take off from their bases in Bonstock escorted by 40 JAS 39 Gripens. At speeds over Mach 1, they scream towards the enemy fleets.

When near the target zone, they split into 4 groups of 5, one targetting each fleet, and with 10 escorting Gripens. Surprise was key; if they could destroy the fleets without the enemy firing back, they would be sucessful.

Acting as if they were from another country, they flew near Russia, and then back down upon the enemy fleets.

Groups 1 and 2 headed for the carrier fleets, and groups 3 and 4 headed for the battleship fleets. They timed it so that each group would reach firing area at the exact same time. Each B-1 fired 8 TSSAMs at the targets.

In Groups 1 and 2, 8 TSSAMs were aimed at the super carriers, 4 at the battlecruiser, 4 at the headquarters ship, 1 at the hospital ship, 2 at the battle carrier, 1 at the support ship, 1 at each frigate, 2 at each pocket battleship, 1 at each destroyer, and three at the cruiser in their respective Fleet target.

In Groups 3 and 4, 1 missile was fired at each hover ship, one at the hospital ship, two at the helicopter carrier, two at the Strike carrier, one at the support ship, one at each destroyer and frigate, two at the headquarters ship, and three at each battleship and cruiser in their respective target fleets. The missiles were capable of doing a preprogrammed set of maneuvers to avoid AEGIS and CIWS fire, and flew near Mach 3.

At High Command, the missiles were controlled with help from sattelites. The control personnel moved their missile so it would strike. It was like a video game.

Around Bonstock, air defence was put on high alert. At High Command, the operators scanned their radar and infrared scanners for anything out of the ordinary. SA-12 SAM batteries, about 1,000 of them around the Bonstocknian capital of Port Yuko, were fully manned and ready to intercept the enemy. Fighters were put on high alert, with 600 F-16s ready to fly within 5 minutes at any time.

Snipers and troops armed with anti-tank missiles and RPGs lay low inside the buildings. Every now and then, they would pick off a few men and hide again. AP landmines were placed everywhere, with arms being handed out to civilians to urge resistance.

"Shiba! I've lost GPS guidance to the missiles."

The Colonel typed frantically at the keyboard, changing the course of Japannese satellites. Relocating a few from Siberia to the Sea of Japann. The guidance would soon be reactived.

"Ha."

but damn AOL knocked me off after I had made a rather long post. My apologies.

"Sir, we're encountering more resistance. Snipers along the path. Still very sparodic, but more organized."

"Well, they must know what's going on. Surround and cut off the city. Then get 2nd Infantry Division to go through the Japannese Alps and to Kyoto and then Osaka. What weapons are the enemy using?"

"RPGs and anti-tank missiles."

"That's bad. Get some tanks in there. We need more firepower."

"Yes, sir."

Meanwhile, in Japann, some infantry walked alongside their trucks while going from the port to Narita airport. They were of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. They had seen some resistance, but mostly sparodic sniper shots that were quickly dealt with by machine gunners. Some RPGs had flown by, but in pitch black it was unlikely that they would hit.

Then they reached a certain point. They head the firing of four missiles, targetted at teh trucks. Three trucks exploded, wounding their crews. The infantry hit the dirt, and started firing their M-4 Carbines and SAWs at the enemy. Sniper fire started hiting around them, picking off a few of the men. A radioman called in artillary and medevac helicopters. A battery of 6 155mm howitzers, of the 3rd Division's artillary, fired into the houses where the fire was coming from. Under cover of pitch black, three companies moved in, firing their rifles and crouching as they went. A few man fell from sniper fire as they continued on. More artillary was called in. The infnatry hit the dirt as the battery fired 20 salvos into the buildings.

A distance away, a soldier dials a ten-second detonation time for the home-made AP mines next to the road.

The infantry walk up to the rubble, and secure it. The the AP mines go off, heavily damaging their trucks. At least 5 of the trucks are totally destroyed. Seeing that the job is not yet finished, the infantry look for more targets. They see a few soldiers in some other houses. Artillary is called in to knock them out.

Meanwhile, DISCOM engineers come to repair the trucks, and take away those that cannot be saved. Helicopters come in to evacutate the wounded. And the rest of 1st Brigade, eager to find their war, goes in, along with 2nd Brigade. They reinforce the troops already in the houses as artillary pounds the surrounding area.

Again, the soldiers hit the dirt, and try to aim at the gunman through the rubble. They call in more artillary, and 4 salvos from the 6 155mm guns are fired at the machine gunner's position.

STill more forces come, huddling close to the ground, spraying M4 and SAW fire as the enemy continues to hold out.

Meanwhile, in 100 trucks, 2nd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry moves in. RPGs are fired at them, but score only one hit, but it hits in the cabin, killing the driver of the truck and his assistant. Twenty four 155mm howitzers train on the area where the brigade is to advance with 40 rounds each in a conintuing barrage. Then the 3,000 infantrymen of 2nd Brigade advance, covered by M60 machine gun fire.

Meanwhile, taking the backroads as told, 2nd Infantry Division swiftly moves to Kyoto, to arrive by dawn.

"Too bad for the pretty buildings" thought Private Billy Junation, holding his carbine. He radioded in for more artillary, and hit the dirt as machine gunners fired at him. The brigade quickly seized the area, the only open terrain for a while. Then they called for more artillary in the surrounding areas.

The 1st Infantry Division was now fully ready to go from Narita. Their C-17s turned back to get yet more troops.

They drove to the town of Matsudo, a suburb of Tokyo somewhat to the east of the city. The infantry brigades travelled ahead, with the divisional artillary and DISCOM travelling behind. The troops faced sparodic sniper fire, but thanks to M-60s mounted on the trucks, the snipers were taken care of and the division rolled on. It arrived near the town, and stopped, fearing that it was held by many enemy troops. The brigades of infantry waitedoutside the town to the east. 1st Brigade was to the north east, second brigade was dead east deployed in a long formation with Divisional artillary behind them, and 3rd Brigade was slightly to the south east of the suburb. The artillary, 72 155mm guns, opened fire on the town, firing all the ammunition they could for a whole hour. Then the brigades of infantry moved in, hoping that the prepatory artillary was good enough.

The 9th Airborne Division sent its brigades to take certain towns as 6th Airborne secured Yokohama. 1st Brigade, 9th Airborne, with an attached field artillary battalion with 24 howitzers, proceeded on to the town of Kawasaki, another suburb of Tokyo. The howitzers opened fire, with 105mm artillary firing constantly for well over an hour. Then the airborne infantry moved in to take the city, knowing that Japannese snipers must be holding the rubble.

Meanwhile, 2nd Brigade of the 9th Airborne moved on to the town of Sagamihara, some miles northwest of Yokohama. More snipers were faced along the road, killing a few Bonstocknian Airborne soldiers. Yet they were fended off by detirmined troops with their M4s, SAWs, and M-60s. The brigade, with 24 attached howitzers of 2nd Battalion, 9th Airborne Artillary Brigade, formed a semicircle to the east around the town. The barrage of artillary shook the earth, and 2nd Brigade watched as it landed and exploded all around the town. Then they prepared their carbines to go in.

Down south, 3rd Brigade of the 9th Airborne Division moved from Yokohama, facing little resistance as they cleared the area. Still, snipers claimed many injured. Medevac helicopters came again to pick up the wounded.

The C-17s fly to Maropian Coast, bringing up the 4th Infantry Division and various support units for the massive army now gathering in Japann. JAS 39 Gripens flew into Narita, to help provide CAP to the area, and supplant the all powerful Bonstocknian artillary, which kept pounding away at Japannese forces still defending the suburbs. A massive command and support operation was now underway at Narita, with planes flying in supplies and resinforcements, taking out the wounded who were continously flown in by helicopters. A field hospital was now present at Narita, along with supply distribution men with HEMMTTs and pallets, and men to give them to.

2nd Infantry Division continued rolling along to Kyoto, firing M-60s at ambushers who sparodically plaugued them. There were some AP mines on the roads, but only on the side, unable to destroy the trucks in the middle of the roads. They continued their advance.

Taking the backroads had paid off; Already, 2nd Infantry was around the town of Nagano, and none of the enemy could figure it out. Occasionaly, a sniper shot would ring out from a Japannese partol, but they would be silenced before they could call for help. It was now about 4 in the morning, and they continued rolling on.

Meanwhile, the artillary barrage abruptly ended around the town of Matsudo. 1st Infantry Division troops attacked from all sides at the heap of rubble that used to be the town, going to take the bridge across the river, which led to Tokyo. In the rubble, machine gunners and snipers awaited them, firing at them. The infantry fired their rifles. 2nd Brigade, coming from due east, bore the brunt of the Japanese defense. They stayed back, allowing 1st and 3rd Brigade troops to link up and take the bridge.

2nd Brigade, 9th Airborne Division, continued bombarding the town of Sagamihara with its attached battalion of 24 105mm howitzers, hoping to crush resistance before it started. The airborne infantry waited, knowing that soon they would be going in. Suddenly, in the sector of 1st battalion, 2nd Brigade, 9th Infantry Division, there was an attack by organized Japanese, many civilians armed with rifles. B Company of the battalion was devastated, but managed to hold onto their ground until the other companies could reinforce them. As medevac helicopters flew in to evacuate the wounded, 1st Battalion troops were horrified to find that the attack was carried out by children.

The 3rd Infantry Division continued its march on Tokyo from the northwest, taking heavy losses in house to house fighting. They developed a consistant tactic; destroy a block of houses with artillary, and then take it, and then call in artillary for the next block. It was devestating, but it worked, despite heavy losses. Private Junation crawled into upper stories of a bombed out house. He saw below some Japanese. He fired his M-4 into then, and called for reinforcements from his platoon. Then he gave the coordinates of the next block for the artillary to find and destroy.

The 1st Brigade of the 9th Airborne Division continued its attack into Kawasaki, continueing their bombardment. As the 105mms were still firing, the infantry moved in, hopeing that the enemy would be distracted. They met machine gun and sniper fire, and the infantry dug into bombed out buildings as the artillary continued pounding. Japannese civilians, seeming desperate, attached bombs to themselves, and ran over to Bonstocknian soldiers. Some were shot, but others hit thier targets. Women screamed in the background, and children moaned, as the men found rifles and tried to resist the Bonstocknian soldiers. Taking heavy casualties, 1st Brigade held off on the attack, consalidating what they had already taken, and letting the artillary do the rest. Occasionally, civilians with military guidence would do suicide charges at the Bonstock held buildings, only to be shot down by SAW fire. More medevac helicopters desperatly tried to get in to take out the wounded.

Meanwhile, 1st Division tried to squash resistance in Matusdo, calling in presision targetted artillary to destroy pockets of resistance in the town. 3rd Brigade got a bridgehead across the bridge, and started fanning out across the river, facing even heavier resisitance. They dug into the area around the bridge, and called in more artillary. It was fired at the town across the river, carpeting it with 155mm High Explosive rounds.

2nd Division continued its drive, now even closer to Kyoto, its target. Terrain was rough, extremly rocky and mountainous. If it weren't for the night vision goggles worn by all the soldiers and drivers, they would be totaly lost. GPS guided them along their path. Tehy would be in Kyoto by dawn, provided that the Japannese did not find them first.

The Bonstocknian 3rd Infantry Division kept moving in from the north east, taking one neighborhood by another, house by house. Private Junation heard nothing but the constant pounding of the artillary at the next neighborhood, which he was about to take.

1st Division troops poured across the bridge, under heavy support from the divisional artillary, which kept pounding away at the strech of suburbia standing between them and a river, across from which would be Tokyo itself. They were now locked in a race with 3rd Infantry Division to see who could take the Imperial Palace first. Still facing resistance, the brigades of the division fought a house to house street battle among the now rubbled houses, destroyed by the constant shelling.

2nd Brigade, 9th Airborne Division started its assault on Sagamihara, shooting M-4 and SAW fire about the rubble where Japannese snipers moved about, taking potshots at the Bonstocknians. Women and children could be seen with rifles and AP mines. Artillary would then thunder in to kill them. It almost made the men of 9th Airborne sick. But they had a job to do.

An ultimatum was sent out to the President of Japann. Surrender now, and we will spare Tokyo from the destruction that has befallen her suburbs.

As the landing ships from Forty First Guards Spearhead Division rolled onto beachheads in Mie Prefecture and pushed towards the bridge that connected it to the Kinki Region (with Osaka and Kyoto), landing ships containing elements of the Second Guards Assault Div. and Third Lancers Armored Division landed near the northern coast of Kinki Region, in Hyogo and Kyoto Prefectures from staging bases in Korea. The Third Lancers had actually maintained a skeleton force in Puchao Base, PRC China, while moving hundreds of Type 98S9 tanks and APCs up to friendly bases in Korea set up through a deal with the government there. The Second Guards, a battle hardened unit from the Islandian Wars, quickly entered Kyoto, while troops from Okinawa were quickly airlifted to forward bases right behind the First Guards Division, refueling and changing pilots during the course of their journey and landing in hastily constructed forward airstrips right behind the brunt of the Forty First's push forward.

Equipped with heavy Type 98 tanks, the 81st Armor Brigade attached to the First Guards pushed across Kinki Region, creating a cordon and closing the area, and the rest of the southern islands, to the Bonstockian forces.

Most of the Tokarev ships have been pulled back to Okinawa, where Islandian and Agrigentian forces are based. (Losses will be posted later). Seeing that Tokarev is in an alliance with Islandia, any attack on Tokarev ships based in Okinawa will be considered an act of war.

They were promptly raped by Bonstocknian troops. Anything of value, especially food, was stolen as the soldiers crossed the strip of urban area.

Then they crossed the next bridge. It was quiet; too quiet. It was a wooded area, staning between them, another river, and then Tokyo. They decided to make use of it as an artillary base. 72 155mm howitzers were set up in the area, as Bonstocknian troops prepared to cross the final bridge to Tokyo.

With the city in ruins, the brigades rush to the Imperial Palace, in a desperate race with 1st Infantry troops. The artillary continues to pound, directed by the infantry at pockets of resistance.

Meanwhile, under heavy fire, the 1st Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division secures bridges across to Tokyo. The 1st and 3rd Division desperatly fight house to house. Artillary destroys a block, a company comes in to clear it; 3 companies per battalion, 3 battalions per brigade, 3 brigades per division, and they started clearing areas at a good rate, inching a block per 10 minutes. They kept pushing on, trying to get to the Imperial Palace by dawn, fighting off confused Japannese who threw themselves into battle despite Bonstocknians with machine guns and night-vision goggles.

Artillary became a weapon of mass destruction, destroying whole blocks of built up city within seconds. Now, to aid them, JAS 39 Gripens took off from Narita, and constantly bombed inner Tokyo with JDAMs and guided missiles. A whole wing of 60 fighters was now in Narita, flying non-stop and destroying as much as they could. Troop concentrations, bunkers, and communications facilities were targeted, though with EMPs having knocked out communications, there was little resistance to the air power. The fighters turned their attention to bombing everything between the divisions and the Imperial Palace, opening a path for the divisions to occupy the place. Running through bombed out rubble that was once proud buildings, the Bonstocknians made their way to the palace, stopping only to call in artillary and airstrikes to deal with pockets of resistance. Still, thousands of casualties were taken, to be medevaced by helicopters to Narita, where they would get on a C-17 flight to Maropian Coast.

Meanwhile, a Gulfstream V landed at Narita. Men in military uniforms walked out, and went to the airport terminal.

The Mamba Mk. II rolled down the nearly empty streets of Tokyo, going just over 60 mph the vehicle was headed straight for the Imperial Palace.

In Maropian Coast, a task force of 48 Watson class RO/RO ships got underway, under escort from 16 Visby class corvettes. They headed for Yokohama.

ooc: You may want to reconsider sending forces into Toyko, Agrigento. My forces can handle it easily, plus we're almost already there anyway.

And the streets can't possibly be deserted. Between my artillary/infantry and Japannese resistance, and civilians who are taking up arms, theres no possible way one tank can get through.

ic: The UH-60s continued their route, acting as medevac helicopters, lowering altitude near Bonstocknian infantry forces. Then they flew on, trying to get to the Imperial Palace, seeing Agrigento's lone Mamba M. II below as it linked up with the 1st Infantry Division.

They flew over the palace, guided by their night vision goggles, seeing the rest of Tokyo beyond them. They hovered over an open area, and 120 special operations men rappelled out onto the ground. Immediatly, machine gun fire broke out. A man went down before his feet touched the ground. A Stinger missile shot down one of the UH-60s just as it had gotten all its troops out. The troops had little time to run out of the way before it came crashing down upon them. The other UH-60s fired rockets where the resistance was coming from, using their NVGs. They then swerved away, as Bonstocknian artillary opened up on the place. Artillary shells exploded all around, overtoning the constant ratatat of the Japanese machine guns and Bonstocknian SAWs and M-4s. The troops rushed over to a building, knowing that it was the imperial residence. They beat down the door, and rushed in. Instantly, one of them was shot, and the person behind him, carrying a SAW, filled the room with fire. The soldiers then ran in, checking a room on the side. A stunned guard aimed an RPG, but was shot before he could fire it. The special ops men proceeded to check the building, seeing the deadly impact of Bonstocknian artillary. A lone Japanese machine gunner picked off two Bonstocknians before being shot himself. Soldeirs kicked on a metal door. Seeing as it would not open, they wired C-4 explosives to the door, and set it off. The door fell down, and the soldiers hastily walked in. Behind were dozens of Japanese guards, all shooting with their rifles. Many Bonstocknians fell in the ensueing firefight. Then some of the Japanese retreated slightly. The Bonstocknians followed. They led into a bunker.

Meanwhile, above, special forces soldiers guarded with SAWs and machine guns as one man got upon the roof, tore down the Japanese rising sun, and raised the Bonstocknian colors (ooc: Swedish flag). The sun rose to see as a new army controlled the fabled Imperial Palace.

A) It is not a tank, not by any means at all.
B) Tokyo has already been handled, there are few hold-outs aside from the Emperors Palace. Believe me, most of the civilians would be in hiding. This is modern Japan, despite a resurgence of Nationalistic Feelings they have been fighting a losing war for too long. Imagine Berlin as the Soviets closed in.
C) We have been in Japann for a while already. These are far from the first things we have in Tokyo. The AIA has been conducting Operations throughout for atleast 2 months IC time.

South Africa’s Reumech designed the Mamba with landmine survivablity in mind. The vehicle itself is regarded as expendable — it is the crew's safety which is paramount. Survivability is achieved through careful shaping of the Mamba's welded steel monocoque hull. The armour-plated underside of the hull is v-shaped. If a landmine is detonated beneath the Mamba, that v-shape directs the blast away from the cab and its occupants.

It features bullet-proof windows with firing ports, a 2 man crew and a 9 man carrying capacity.

Your own Swedes use it, the Mamba Mk II Route-Proving Vehicle.

OOC:Merry Christmas
IC: The taskforce stopped 105 miles away from Tokyo. The massive 18inch guns on the G-battleships turned towards shore. Then they shot off 12 volleys... most of these(6 out of 12 of them) volleys were targetted at shore guns and missile emplacements.(okay thats 6 guns per G-battleship so 12x6x12) Then each M-battleship released 22 KUDZU model 1 GPS guided cruise missiles each 4 of these were targetted at the Tokyo Tower.

OOC: Japann.... I expect losses from this bombardment and this attack... on a happier note... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

IC:The troop ships departed from the fleet and headed towards the dock. The troop ships included everything from old Higgins and LCVPs to the new hovercraft. 250,000 conscripts armed with M4 carbines with M203 Grenade Launcher attachements came running down the ramps, guns blazing. Supporting them were 999 T-80 BLACK PANTHERS and-to the horror of the Jpannese- a single almighty TXL-20 OVERLORD UBT(Ultimate Battle Tank). The mere sight of the worlds only UBT caused many enemy soldiers too flee in fear. The dual 155 MM guns on the tank blew away buildings at close range. The 35 MM dual gattling guns on the back ripped lmbs off of infantry and took down low flying enemy aircraft.

OOC:Rmember using 155 MM guns at such close range is not only effective... but down right scary.

The Empire of Roycelandia has been requestedby Bonstock to deploy two divisions of troops to Bonstock's occupied areas of Tokyo.

The troops are primarily made up of the Imperial Guard (armed with Mk III SMLE .303 rifles and bayonets), as well as the Imperial SAS (armed with whatever modern weapons take their fancy).

We are also despatching medical teams and engineers as well...

the Islandian command wishes to request Roycelandian forces to withdraw; this is not your concern, and if Bonstock needs help, we will provide it, not you.

The Red Tide troops fought their way too the imperial palace. The TXL-20 leading the way, shrugging off anything the Japanese could throw at it like as if it wasnt being fired at at all. It took awhile too get to the palace(because the max speed of the OVERLORD is 22 mph), But when they got their they broke into the place only too find that Bonstock speacial forces had already occupied it. A single soldier carrying the Red Tide Flag(basically a red wave) walked up too the roof top and raised it along side the Bonstock flag.(Red Tide promised Bonstock if they took the palace first they would still recieve full crdit).

Meanwhile a permnant HQ had been established at the docks and thoruhg out the city police stations were turned into outposts(with their helipads being used for COMMANCHE attack copters), Hospitals turned into military medical facilties(with their helipads being used for CHINOOK transport copters), warehouses turned into munitions depots, and hotels turned into barrackses. It seemed like Red Tide was going too stay

That very day a broadcast was sen out all over Tokyo from a captured news building. As the Red Tide Anthem played in the background the words LTN(Liberated Tokyo News) were shown. In the background a news anchor took a sip of water and "neated" her speach. The music stopped playing and the words faded. The news anchor turned towards the camera and began to speak in Japnnese but with a Russian accent.

"Hello, wlecome to LTN studios, I am Tatanya Ilyana and Ill be your regular news anchor from now on. We hope too retain the cooperation of your regular tv personnel after they return from our reducation programs in the Artic."

The camera shifted view but Tatanya turned towards it.

"For months now our leaders have been concerned about the plight of the pour Japannese people, living under a corrupt regime. Today we, along with our glorious ally Bonstock, have liberated the citizens of Japann from oppresion."

As she spoke a picture came up showing tanks, trucks, and BTRs parading down what was left of downtown Tokyo.

"The leader of the RTEF(Red Tide Expeditionary Force), General Tatarin, will be addressing the nation later today. So on behalf on both the Red Tide and Bonsotkian Armed Forces, we welcome Tokyo... To a better future."

She said the last part with bitterness and forcefully. And with that the camera faded out.

The soldiers that walked up to the rubble are sprayed with machine gun fire from another Japannese gunman located in a nearby building.

Meanwhile, Stinger missiles are prepared for use following the detection of the helicopters by ear.
Death of a Sinoese helicopter pilot (a few days ago):

2nd.Lt. Zhao was flying his WZ-9 at high altitude over the town of Kuji, in Northern Honshu, as usual, accompanied by first sergeant Han as the weapons operator. Suddenly, the radar sounds a shill warning as a stinger creep up in the air, behind their tail.

“This is not looking good. Take evasive measures!” Han’s voice boomed over the alarm.

“It’s coming too fast. MAY DAY! MAY DAY!” Zhao’s attention shifted from Han to HQ. “This is Zulu One Alpha declaring a may-“

The sheer force of the missile struck and exploded the tail rotor. Han was killed instantly, no last words came from his mouth. A violent force smacked Zhao into the dashboard, the joystick almost impaled him. The attack helicopter was no more, it lowered down violently before finally crashing in what was once a sports field, now just wet mud.

Zhao called for Han, he confirmed his comrade’s death. He was in hellish pain, he felt all the bones in his body were broken, though he could move his left arm. He reached for the cyanide tablets in his pocket. He died by a Japannese missile but not in Japannese hands.

===============================================

Again, heavy losses were reported in the urban areas. General Liu is considering a change of tactics. Most helicopter operations have been suspended. After several days of the same old repeats, Gen. Liu's subordinates came up with a plan.

Sinoese heavy mortars will now be refitted with a new type of round- tear gas. Some SP 120mm heavy mortars (on an IFV chassis) have been rearmed with this new type of round to flush out militants hiding indoors. Infantrymen in support will be wearing gas masks.

We wish to speak with Leaders of Bonstock and Red Tide due to some international dissagreements with the Asian Alliance. I hope to bring Peace.

As General Yeh arrives back to Hoshu from Talks at the Conference, he quickly strategizes for the next wave of attacks. For now however, he seems to let his mind off for a while and attends the nearby community Noh Drama performed by Japanese villagers. Xiaguo flags and flags of Asian Alliance are raised at every village.

ooc: Things have flamed up a bit... so, you gonna surrender or what? Or do you wish for me to invade south of the Imperial Palace?

ic, posting for Bonstock: The Infantry Divisions closed in on the palace, taking heavy losses from teh constant street fighting. Around them, the pure devestation of their weapons was becoming appearent, to the horror of civilians. 3rd and 1st Divisions continued closing in on the Imperial Palace. Dawn broke. In the distance, over the Imperial Palace, The Bonstocknian flag waved in triumph. Then Japannese soldiers angrilly erupted in resistance, jumping out of hiding spaces to attack the flag. Machine guns were turned on them. Artillary was called in again, and smoke rose from the morning ground.

Resistance quieted, and the divisions helped secure the palace. The emporer was found, and taken at gunpoint, a prisoner of the Federal Republic of Bonstock.

The divisions halt the offensive, and remain to pacify any die-hard resistance. Quickly, C-5 aircraft from Bonstock fly in 200 loads of disaster relief, and try to find anyone who survived to give them aid.

Bonstocknian forces interrogate the emperor and his staff at Narita airport. They ask "Where is Akibura?" repeatedly.

The 6th and 9th Airborne Divisions drive to Narita, relieved by units of the 3rd Infantry Division along with Red Tide forces. The divisions are flown out by the C-5 cargo planes, back to Bonstock.

The I Airborne Corps, commanding the offensive, issues its after action reports back to Bonstock.

During the night, 354 Bonstocknian soldiers were killed. Another 3,568 were wounded. The wounded have been flown to field hospitals in Maropian Coast.

The rest of downtown Tokyo falls quickly. Efforts start at withdrawing forces.

Red Tide forces in the meantime strengthen. another 250,000 soldiers and 4,000 tanks are brought in increasing the numbers too 500,000 soldiers and 5,000 tanks.

All over Tokyo the Japannese flags are being lowered and Red Tide flags hoisted. Now there were constant COMMANCHE attack helicopter patrols over the city. These copters missiles and machine guns quickly brought down resistance fighters all over the city.

Also a news broadcast was going on. The Red Tide national anthem played as the words LTN apeared on the screen Tataynia Kapenski took a sip of water and "neated" her speech. The words faded the music stopped playing Tatanya trned towards the camera and began to speak.

"Hello I am Comrade Tatanya Kapenski at LTN studios in Tokyo. Earlier I interviewed Comrade General Tatarin. A video of the interview will be played now."

And so it did. It showed the news room with Tatanya sitting next too a man who looked battle hardened and to be in his late forties. he spoke.

"Any sort of violence against the Red Tide Expeditionary Force can only increase tentions here and cause more suffering for the Japanese people. But I assure you that any assaults are isolated events and we have restored peace and stability."

The camera went back to Tatanya.

"That was general Tatarin now on the phone is Comrade Colenol Bulba, head of the Current Gaurd."

A new voice suddenly spoke.

"Any "Freedom Fighters" are vigilantes.... Terrorists! But they are few and will be excited when caught.... after a trial of course."

Tatanya spoke agian.

"That was Colenol Bulba. We will be back after this short break."

Pending the reinforcement of Red Tide's forces in Japan, two more divisions have arrived from Islandian bases in PRC China to reinforce the existing South Japan garrison forces. They will have arrived in three days.

Meanwhile, Premier Qu, newly returned from failed talks in the Pacific, has issued a warning to Red Tide not to attack Allied positions in the South of Japan.

If Red Tide has trouble with the terrorist problem, however, General Sung, commander of the East Pacific Command of the Islandian military, will be more than glad to help by diverting any spare forces to help quell unrest; Islandian garrison forces have a high percentage of modernist Japanese, who both know the culture well yet are loyal to only us, so we will be glad to lend a hand.

ooc: 250,000 instantly...thats 20 divisions. It would take so many airplanes! The skies would be so thick that I could randomly shoot 20mm and down a nice amount.

The C5 Galaxy Cargo Plane: The flight crew of five persons consists of the pilot, copilot, flight engineer, navigator, and load master. Behind the rest area is a passenger compartment that will accommodate 75 fully equipped troops. The lower cargo compartment may also be utilized for troop transport; for this [461] purpose, the aircraft can carry 270 soldiers. Both the lower cargo compartment and the upper deck are fully pressurized.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/images/c-5-dfst9010232-s.jpg

The An-225 (RL's Largest Military Cargo Plane): Real, factual, definite, and confirmed sources lacking, some very liberal estimates state that it can hold up to 3000 troops if configured so.

http://www.aeronautics.ru/archive/vvs/an225002_small.jpg

That means that u would require, at the very minimum 83.333... of the words largest and some of the most expensive aircraft. Given that only 2 An-225s have been produced thus far, I doubt you would be able to obtain such a quantity.
