Obama should point out that he is attacking McCain's policy... whereas McCain's ads are talking about Obama personally...
Yes but what about when McCain mentioned Obama's spanish ads attacking (incorrectly) McCain's view towards immigrants.......

True it's "on the issues"...but Obama's ads were total bullshit. I don't even LIKE McCain and I'm defending him on this one.

I was listening to salsa on the radio the other day on the spanish channel and heard one of Obama's spanish language ads against McCain..it was ridiculous. It made McCain look like me, for God's sake! (When it comes to immigration)...even though McCain has been on what seems like a crusade for more immigration, easier immigration and the legalization of all the illegals in America already:

McCain has promoted the legislation and eventually the granting of citizenship to the estimated 12–20 million illegal aliens in the United States and the creation of an additional guest worker program with an option for permanent immigration. His prominent role in promoting the Senate's 2006 immigration legislation, including an initial cosponsorhip role with Ted Kennedy, made him a focus of the debate in 2006, and his support for S.1348 did so again in 2007. The immigration issue caused intense friction within his own party, such as when The Washington Times reported that McCain and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham "first checked with Mr. Kennedy before deciding to vote with the Massachusetts Democrat on an amendment to the Senate bill."[286] McCain's immigration stance was widely cited as a major reason for his presidential campaign's difficulty during most of 2007.

In his bid for the 2000 Presidential nomination, McCain supported expansion of the H-1B visa program, a temporary visa for skilled workers.[287] In 2005, he co-sponsored a bill with Ted Kennedy that would expand use of guest worker visas.[288]

McCain campaigned against Proposition 200, a 2004 Arizona state initiative intended to prevent illegal immigrants from voting, receiving welfare benefits, and mandated state agencies to report illegals to the federal government. McCain argued Prop 200 would be overly expensive to execute, that it would be ineffectual, and that immigration regulation falls only under the purview of the federal government.[289]

McCain has repeatedly argued that low-skilled immigrant labor is necessary to supply service roles that native-born Americans refuse. In one widely remarked-upon incident, he insisted to a union group that none of them would be willing to pick lettuce for fifty dollars an hour. The audience interrupted with offers and several weeks later demonstrators showed up at his Phoenix office to apply for lettuce picking work.[290]

In May 2007, McCain conceded to Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly that passage of amnesty will permanently change the ethnic makeup of the country. He supports a path to citizenship for an estimated twelve to twenty million immigrants, on the condition of a thirteen year waiting period.[291]

In June 2007, McCain voted in favor of declaring English as the official language of the federal government.[292]

I'm watching relative performances here. It took Obama 45 minutes to get into it, but he's hitting better now. I wonder if he's playing for a big finish.

If he's got a weakness, it's still that - in each debate so far - he's let McCain get away with a lot of stuff.

McCain had a good start, and he's still hitting about even. If he has a weakness, it's that he seems to have come pretty close to losing his temper twice now.

Indeed. The only thing I'm gonna say is that, no matter how unintelligent this may be, many MANY Americans are worried about all of Obama's "shady ties"...and it all started with Wright. Whether or not it's correc to be worried about those issues is not the debate, but the fact is that many Americans are interested in it and are worried about it. McCain is simply tapping those fears.

Personally, the Osama thing is ridiculous, the Ayers thing is really stretching it, but the Wright issue was real, in my opinion.

Finally figured it.

Obama isn't playing this as a debate.

Watch him - talking point comes up, he kind of answers it - then he makes a presentation of policy to the audience.

When he plays this as a debate, he's doing solid damage - but he's playing two SEPARATE phases here.
...

Now it makes a lot more sense, and that means Obama's kicking more ass.
I like what Obama's saying, but it's treading close to UHC and people don't like that. What people don't like is the possibility that it would mean government mandated decisions involved in every level. Of course that's not going to happen in any decent UHC system, but the American people don't know that, sadly.
