In fact, am I the only person on NS:G actually living in Glasgow?

If it does turn out to be a different weekend don't worry, Leicester's less than an hour and a half from London St. Pancras by train (although it'll cost about £40), and that line goes to Sheffield or Nottingham or somewhere Up Norf. There are also trains from Birmingham to Leicester.
The line from London goes through several places between there and Leicester (nearly every major-ish town in between the two except Northampton, pretty much), then goes on to either Nottingham or Derby, Chesterfield and Sheffield. Very occasionally you can get one from Leicester to Leeds. There's also the link from Birmingham - Stansted Airport, which stops at lots of random places.

Basically, if you can get to London, Birmingham, Peterborough, Nottingham or Sheffield in one train journey, then Leicester is only another train journey away.

It's pretty well served by National Express as well. There's a coach that goes from Clacton to Liverpool that goes through Leicester...how random is that?

Everyone should meet up at the Eagle & Child on Church Street in Leyland, Lancs. The best pub I have been in ever. Apart from 'The Intrepid Fox' in Soho. But that has shut down.

There was, but I'd need a new one so I could make a poll for dates/places as necessary.

Um, fancy reminding me what dates you could do/preferred, so I don't have to look it up?
