Yeah, I know, go figure. I love the accent when they're talking any other language (English, German, French, anything), but the Dutch language itself I find a bit hard on the ears.

You should have made the poll multiple choice. *mopes*

English is pretty sexy. I love Irish, too. With American it depends a bit on who's speaking, for me. And Australian can sound kinda funny, but if the speaker has a sexy voice, it can be pretty damn sexy too.......

Yes! Exactly! Agree 100%. Dutch guys speaking German make me melt. They're so... cute. :p

But Dutch itself is even more guttural than German, and maybe even more than Swiss German. Even though somebody Dutch on here (Thriceaddict, I think) recently said somewhere that German was more guttural than Dutch, but he's obviously completely deluded. :p

Although I'm indifferent about the language, women from the Middle East have some of the nicest accents ever when speaking English. I got talking to a woman from Kuwait once, and it was like aural sex.

The only American accent I can think of that sounds alluring is the Southern Girl. Otherwise, I'd be quick to say American accents kill the mood. English is better, but the politeness factor might just go over the top. Australian is adventurous, so it scores high with me. The rest is either bereft of seductiveness (Russian, Swedish) or the erotic value of it is garbled by bad grammar and spelling (Japanese, Chinese). If Valley Girl was an option instead of a generic American, I would have gone for that. But as it stands, they're all equally bad.

But I'm a bit out of practice, so the German has been creeping back in. Or so I hear.

My proudest moment was when, at the end of my year in Indiana, I volunteered at an animal shelter for a month and on my last day it turned out they didn't even know I was German, they just thought I was from some nondescript place somewhere "on the coast". (Although, in retrospect, that also meant that they must have thought I was a bit slow in the head, seeing as I sometimes couldn't think of words like "bowl" or "leash". :p)

Well an Angelino accent is pretty stanard...they speak the same as you might find in San Diego (I lived there too)...only I find that Angelinos tend to be a little faker..on average..than the glorious residents of San Diego.:p

Well...going by my location I wouldnt say I'm from Florida...I would say I am in Florida, now. I was born in L.A....and lived there for a bit, then lived in San Diego and NOW I live in South Florida.

I'm from Canada, British Columbia, and all my friends can hear my accent, they have pointed it out to me. Even i can hear the difference between the two, and i live here. Some parts of the country of course have stronger accents. People in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland have very distinct accents, completely different from most of us in the rest of the country. You would know the minute they opened their mouths that they talk differently.

Some Canadian celebrities don't have much of an accent, but others do. When i listen to Mike Myers talk even i can hear his accent, it's pretty thick sometimes.

I think many of us in B.C. have less distinct accents. I don't hear them much here, but when i go to other parts of Canada, i can pick them out. One of the years i took the bus to New York we had stopped in Swift Current, Saskatchewan for lunch and the woman working at the counter had a very obvious Canadian accent.

Yeah, I guess they only sound alike to non-English speaking foreigners. In my native language, I can hear every little difference between regional accents and actually pick them up pretty quickly, too (which can be a tad embarrassing). But with American English, pretty much all I can tell apart are Southern and New York. :p

Yeah, that's pretty true. I remember back when to visit my friends in West LA in June, I was seriously shocked to see how much everything had changed in a year alone. From the fashions to the laws, to how "New Yorkish" (asshole-ish :p ) people were acting. It was crazy. Thankfully my old crue didn't change much, save for a few new faces. We musta gotten chased away by cops for skateboarding on sidewalks and in parking lots everyday. :D

I still have half of my family there (the half that didnt migrate to South Florida, haha) so I go back there alot, in fact...I'm going in a couple weeks.
In my opinion...the problem is a typical case of White flight. There are just SOOOO many problems there, that the White, average middle class guy and his family are just jumping ship and getting out of their...which leaves the Rich (Malibu...Westwood...places like that)...and the poor....(Long Beach...downtown)...and not much inbetween. In our case...we left because middle class small company owners are just taxed through the ass...which was the final push out of Cali.

Nonetheless...its still an awesome place to visit, even if it isnt a great place to live anymore.:p

Japanese accent? I assume that means, like a Japanese person speaking English right, because if not, then what would it mean? A Japanese person speaking Japanese is not really an accent. Sure, there's a Tokyo accent or a Kansai accent, but a Japanese accent of Japanese? Never heard of such a thing.

Well, I have to say that I do not find a Japanese accent very sexy in English. Mixed up ls and rs are more grating to the ear than pleasing. But Japanese women speaking Japanese can be sexy.

Well, other than Japanese, Chinese, or (non-specific) American, I find all of them sexy. How am I to pick just one? Oh, pie!

I'll go with Flemish, Irish, French and Russian.
Of course there's quite a bit of variation in accent, especially the latter two (due to the larger area it's spoken in).

Y'know, as a dutchman I can't fathom why so many people here seem to drool over Dutch accents. But I suppose it's nice to know that if I ever go abroad I'll be instantly appealing, at least in speech..
Any particular dutch accent though?

I think its partly because the Dutch language has some really nice sounds in it (especially your "r"s *drools some more*)

Australian for the ones listed but South African is still the best.

apart form when you see a really pretty lass and she starts to speak in a thick Afrikaans accent

for me it has to be a soft southern drawl of a fine young lady
