Well, in all fairness, he was lame. Of his two hits, one ("Don't Mean Nothin'") was a ripoff of Joe Walsh-inspired Eagles riffs, and the other ("Right Here Waiting") I had to hear a gadzillion times every time some sensitive soul walked by a damn piano. Lights? Lights were too good for 'im.

i was almost certainly here in 2k5, if not a good bit before that. though i may have been carlemnaria at the time. obviously i could not give pre-notice of unexpected machine failure, nor of how long it would take to replace and get back. living in one house, with one phone line, no cable, and VERY limited cash flow. so carlemnaria was long gone by the time i was able to, and thus had to restart all over as cameroi.

when my current machine eventually fails, as all sooner or later do, it is quite likely the same thing will happen again. i doubt if carlemnaria was all that memorable, though we were in some rather memorable and long running threads.

one i was most fond of was a kind of temple retreat with the gravel garden sort of thing and a good library. there were also the never ending anarchy threads, and the gameplay forum was still actually useful for anything. instead of anything and everything remotely useful being immediately removed from it as it is now.

and i do remember the before moving to jolt, when server overload deleys were common, but there was a lot more interesting and diverse other then war and sports rollplay.

there was also some of it, like the first one i mentioned, taking place here in the general forum.

I was a pretty n00b IIer back in the day. I had a nice Blackjack shoppe back in the day when you didn't require vast effort to make a penny. More a lurker then anything. When the previous servers began to have their problems, I left. I came back after a while.

All I remember from my early haze of newbie fear is being terrified of Demon Lord Enigma, Power-hungry Chipmunks, the entire UN forum (but especially Mikitivity, who seemed to have memorised every resolution ever discussed) and all mods. However, my region seemed to be inhabited by angelic souls, led by Qaaolchoura, who loved looking after n00bs.

Things have changed. Now I'm relaxing into a sorta generalised apprehension, occasionally spiking when I fear that they'll give us mashed pumpkin for dinner twice running.
