Bloody hell, the Americans I've met are surprised at the differences in vocabulary here in Britain...

For example, someone from Glasgow speaks totally different from someone in Edinburgh. And they're about 70 miles apart...

If I'd heard a few examples of those accents then yes, I could. As it is, most of the Australians I've ever seen were on TV and I didn't have the luxury of hearing where they were from. But I can tell the difference between Crocodile Hunter and Crocodile Dundee. Most of the people I know from that area of the world are from NZ (each had impregnated a sheep at least once in their life).

You'd have trouble with telling say, NY and Boston apart, but not NY and Chicago which is just a couple hundred miles (just under 800 miles/~1300 km) or even NY and VA (about a four and a half hour drive).

Celebrate with a skydive! (Okay, strictly speaking, it would be a static-line jump the first few times... or a tandem if you are a wuss.) I think this is a good way to test yourself, and show those who perhaps think of you as the baby of the family that you can take responsibility for things, take calculated risks, and get away with it.

In many countries, you can start at 16, actually. And in the Netherlands, I heard there was a drop zone where you could do a tandem jump at 12. Wow.
