*Takes Orchid's hand and begins leading her down the cave. off to one side, she shimmies through a narrow opening. the path quickly widens as it slopes down. at the bottom, a glowing pool of water shimmers in the darkness.. casting an erie glow in the large cavern.*


(The water is fresh and warm... not hot, but comfortable. Several white fish swim in the water and every now and then, a large shadow glides on the bottom at the far end of the pool.)

Well I never...look at that....

*Leans over to try and see what is causing the shadow.
Puts her hand in the water to feel it.*

I wonder what is causing it to warm, and what kind of fish they are.

Well done Lafier, for finding this, we may be able to utilise it.

Larger spiders tend to be smarter... and they also have their own language. at least the ones where I live do...

I don't know what she is saying...

What do you think she will do if we try to pass through.....

And is she poisonous?

A spider that size might be poisonous... if she set up a web, she could be hungry... and anything disturbing the web will be attacked.

if we can feed her... she might let us pass...

how does one tickle a fish?

I have no idea really!

*Rolls her sleeve up, puts arm into the warm water, and waggles fingers around.

One or two of the white fish seem to be curious, as to what these waggly pink things are, and swim around them for a while.

Patiently she waits for one to come close enough....then she starts to stroke its belly.....*

*A second fish comes over to investigate what is happening to it's friend, and gently nibbles Orchids finger.

I can't do this...I've never killed anything in my life....and they seem to be so friendly.

it could be that since no one 'fished' for them, they have no fear....

unless you can think of another way past the spider...

Do it fast, maybe the others won't realize the danger.

*Grabs the fish, throws it onto the dry land, then quickly jumps up.

Come'on, this might be our chance...

*Lafier wakes up... looks around and explores the cave... at the opening, she looks out at the world... the trees... the cloud covered sky... Tentively she steps out..*

*Silently Orchid watches, as the girl takes a look at the outside world, hoping she won't try to stray too far from the safety of the caves.*

*after a few steps, lafier seems to sag... almost tired like... quickly, she staggers back into the shadows of the cave... she sits down, well inside the cave.*

*On seeing Lafier seemingly on the point of collapse, Orchid takes her a cool drink of water, and sits down beside her.*

I've never been this close to the surface... we can go deeper, but the cavern I came up was closed by an avel..avila... rock fall.

Maybe in a day or two, we should start moving a little further into the interior.....I don't know about you, but I'm getting a little restless waiting here!

*After Orchid falls asleep... Lafier starts walking down the cavern... seeing the large spider, she noticed that it re-arrainged it's web so that people can get past underneith while it stayed safe above. Smiling at the spider's compromise, Lafier moved further on down the cave.*

*Jon awoke with a start, rolling onto his back accidently. Stifling a cry, he clutched his back, clearly in pain. He muttered to himself, then ate a hurried breakfast and packed some more food into a bag, then started walking down the tunnel, looking for a different cave, further from the elements*

*Lafier stopped by a small pile of rocks... she started sifting through the rocks.. discarding some, placing others in her pocket.*

*after picking up some rocks, Lafier decided to head back to the camp.. on the way back, she slipped under the Giant spider's web to get some fish for the others.*

*Waking to find herself alone, Orchid decides that as they are staying in this cave, she might as well decorate it.

She takes one of the half burnt sticks from the fire, and starts to draw on the cave-wall!*

*a very wet Lafier enters the camp... she is clutching two small fishes in her arms.*

There...all we have to do, is prepare the fish, and put them onto the stone when it is hot enough, and it will cook them nicely.....

Well, it's not a very nice thing...but we have to take all the yucky bits out from inside.....like this....

*The Dark Elf Child wakes up... looks around... and notices she's got paint all over her hands and clothes... Decides to go and wash up. carefull not to wake the others, she makes her way to the pool. sliding under the large spider and making her way down.*

*Wanders up from the lower depths of the cave complex. Tullamore enters camp, deposits a few large chunks of dead animal, and slips back out before he wakes anyone*

*admires the cave paintings for a moment. On his way out Tullamore carves a quick celtic knot into the stone*

*After finishing washing up, and spending some time swimming, :) Lafier pays her fish toll to the spider and makes her way back to camp. She does a small curtsey to G&T as they pass.*

*looking at the meat, she begins preparing it for cooking by cutting it into smaller pieces and seasoning it on the large flat rock used yesterday. every now and then she pauses to remember what Orchid did... and to search the packs for seasoning.*

*Nods to the little kid, steps over the spider and dives into the water*

*Pretending to be sleeping, Orchid watches to see how Lafier copes with the cooking.*

Well, she seems to have mastered the art of cooking and fishing, so at least I have helped someone!

-He sank deeper and deeper. Soon what little light there was disappeared and the darkness enveloped him. Touching down on the bottom, Tullamore quickly relized that he had fallen through a fissure in the pool. A current of much colder water buffeted him. Pushing off the wall, Tullamore faught the current, slowly moving down the tunnel towards it source. After several minutes he found himself face to face w/ a giant block of ice, but the source of the light was a mystery. Surfaceing He found himself in an ice cave.-

This weekend or next week, I may join in in the caves

It is because my "major RP" in II failed miserably--no one's posting :( so I come here early.

Before I do (IF decide to do in the first place), what is it that happens around here? Just curious :)

He staggered off back towards the cave, then kept walking, sitting outside. The rocks had shifted, the world seemed different somehow, the sun was starting to peek out behind the clouds. He smiled and breathed in the crisp air, then his expression changed when he looked back towards the direction of PC. He inclined his head gently as he remembered all the people who'd left, then hadn't been seen since, by any of them*

*As the sun appeared through the clouds, a single ray hit a rock standing right beside the ruins of Paradise Club, where the library should have been. The rock slowly begins to shimmer and glow, a soft golden glow. Is it a trick of the light? A figure seems to be sitting on the rock. There is a sense of calm... and immesurable loss*

*The sun has hidden again in the clouds. The figure shakes its head and stands, looking around, looking and hoping to find some traces of someone, anyone... The glow surrounding it becomes brighter and hotter. It sends its mind out over the vast embattled area, searching for friends of old... or foes. It starts to walk towards the escarpment, and the fabled caves, looking... and hoping.*

*Jon looked, in the distance a glow appeared, growing stronger by the minute. He drew back in fear*

I have had... a revelation. You remember when i thought i had lost the Goddess? It seems i hadn't lost her at all. She was with me... always with me. She had been waiting for me for ages. I am more than Her Voice now... more than an avatar... we are one.

Stag has been seen once or twice, although not often. He's somewhere around these caves as well.

The darkness surrounded him. The very essence of his life seemed to be bent around it. He was only ten years, but those ten years had been full of darkness, until recently. Some voice had come down to the cavern he lived in, it was a voice that he could hear, but came from a body he could not touch or see. It had a name, of which was;
"Sage Cornellis"

The boy himself didn't have a name. Until now he had no reason to, he only lived in darkness. But Sage had shown him light. He had taken him outside once, to show him woods. And it was there he saw himself for the first time, he was human. With pale skin. Suprisingly to Sage (for Sage told him) he didn't look that bad. Some of his teeth were rotten, but not many. And he was dirty, but he wasn't skinny like Sage had expected. In fact, he looked almost like a normal boy.

Also, as well as sun light, Sage could make light down in the cavern. Which gave the boy a new perspective of it all. It was really big, and had a giant pool of water in the middle. The boy knew of the water, but didn't know what it looked like. Looking closely he could see what Sage had called fish swimming in the water, of which he had used for food all his life.

The boy was now sitting quite comfortable on a rock, with a sort of campfire in front of him to light the small area. He was playing a mind game Sage had tought him with some rocks, and he was singing a song to himself.

"And with the hard rock he broke the log, he smashed it up with that big ol' rock
And with that log he mad a raft, to fish and catch and swim.
Oh how he loved that raft, oh how he loved those fish..." The boy would sing.

"You certainly sing interesting song," Sage said from no where and everywhere at the same time.

"Why thank you Sage, you know, I really enjoy your company, you've tought me a lot. Tell me, do you sing?"

"Yes, you could say I sing," Sage said.

"Could you sing me a song?" The boy asked innocently and hopefully.

"I Suppose," Sage replied, and then began to sing.
"I feel the wind on my fingertips
The gentle breeze blowing my hair
As I lay I remember the past
And the burdens I bear
For the world is cold
It’s an ice age of sun
But the light still shines through on me

The cold water refreshes my mind
Keeping me in check
Don’t want to go over the edge
Don’t want to go insane
But sometimes I feel it’s the only way
It’s the only way"

"That was excellent Sage," The boy said. "Someday you'll have to teach me some of your songs, and I'll teach you mine."

"I'd much like that," Sage replied. "I'd much like that."

The boy sat by the fire, and continued to sing to himself, his voice echoing all along the deep tunnels of the Elysian Caves.

*Jon, now sitting by the fire, jumped up at the sound of an echo*
I'm starting to reeaaally dislike these caves.

**near the source of the singing, two eyes appeared in the wall, quickly disappeared, leaving no sound, nothing. Back at the entrance to the graveyard, the ghost stirred, heard what his dogs had to say, then went back to his rest**
So.... there is another ghost here in these caves.... how interesting, and a boy.... we shall see what we can make of this.

The boy continued to sing, but the spirit of Sage moved to the edge of the cavern. He sensed something else, and he didn't know if it meant to harm the boy or not.

"Who's there?" He asked.

**silence. Nothing responded, nothing could be heard. The dogs were long gone, leaving a lingering cold feeling in the cavern**

"Sage?" The boy called out. "Sage its chilly! The fire is dying!"

The boy sat around in silence for a little while, had Sage left him? He didn't hear any reply, he didn't hear anything at all. He started to worry, but then looked at the fire as it got bigger, warming him up more.

"Sorry," the voice of Sage said close to him. "I was checking something out, I thought maybe we had a visitor."

"A friend of yours?" the boy asked.

"No, there was no one there."

**the ghost didn't want to risk his Ice Wolves, if the spirit was as strong as his Wolves claimed. He waved a hand and a zombie rose from a nearby grave. Holes were torn in his flesh, clearly marked knife and sword wounds. This was how he'd looked when he'd died, the same look of eternal surprise that he'd worn when he'd been stabbed in the back. As he left his grave and went to the ghosts side, a ripple of cold went through the entire caves, noticeable enough for anyone. A strong magic user would have known that a dead man had been raised. He walked upright, towards the lower caves**

Sage sensed something. Yes, once again the boundary line between life and death had been broken. The foolish practice of raising the dead had been performed again. Once dead, people are meant to be dead, they are never meant to come back, unfortunately it took Sage a lifetime to learn that firsthand.

"Boy, we need you to hide ok?"

"What for?"

"Just hide!" Sage commanded, and he light up the entire cavern with lights that came from no source at all. Now it was just as if it were broad daylight in that room.

The boy turned and dashed under a small little crevice and hid there, and Sage's spirit stood close by him. Waiting for whatever was coming.

**the zombie kept moving, more silently than any would have believed possible. Although not quickly, he moved at a steady pace, and he knew where to go without fail. As he came closer, the coldness got stronger**

Sage sensed the coldness of the air around. The zombie was closer. He moved to the entrance of the cavern, and saw the zombie coming down. His spirit waited there, waited to see what else it would do.

*Snuggled up with in Orchid's sleeping bag, Lafier awoke with a start... something familiar happened... Slowly, she crawled out of bed and stared down the cavern... Did her people find her? The necomatic magic was familiar, but also at the same time... not.

Scrambling to her usual hiding place, she searched around and found her dagger... small defense against anything determined, but the only defense she has.

Looking around, she realized that she was the only one here.*

Miss Orchid?

*Her soft whisper echoed in the empty cavern... seeing the usual marks on the wall, she decides to follow them.*

**the zombie approached, then stopped just outside the entrance to the cavern. He could hear the boys breathing, but the spirit couldn't be seen. Had he been smart enough, he would have suspected a trap, as it was, he paused for a moment then walked forward, picking up the knife by the blade, causing another cut in him, but he had no blood in him, nothing left to bleed. He examined the blade, elvish markings clear on it. He grunted and turned to leave, blade still in hand**

Sage watched as the zombie left the vicinity of the cavern, as it was going down the hallway he watched it. Then suddenly it exploded, not with fire or flames, but it just suddenly exploded. The ground right in front of Sage soon opened, and a torrent of water from no where in particular washed the remains of the zombie down into the hole. Sage saw the blade, and right before it went in the hole it was tossed out into the cavern. Then the hole closed up.

"Its safe," Sage said. "Where did you get that blade?"

"I found it one day long ago," The boy said as he quickly dashed to it and picked it up. Then both of them heard a soft whisper echoe from far away in the caves.

OOC: The whisper they heard was Lafier.

**the ghost felt as his zombie was killed, though he didn't know how, except for the fact that magic was involved. He sighed and settled back down, discretion was the better part of valour, he'd leave it for today. It didn't pay to pick unwinnable fights, as his comrades, now lying underneath the dirt, had learned**

*Peering out from behind some rocks, Lafier wondered about the loud noise (exploding zombie... kinda sounds like the next PS2 game.) carefully she looked down the cavern where the sound came from... and down the other where the chalk marks lead...

Curiosity getting the better of her, she decided to follow the noise.*

The boy heard footsteps now, he ran to the entrance of the cavern.

*from inside the cavern, Lafier watch Jon meeting with the boy... she senced another spirit close by, but could not pinpoint it's whereabouts.

Not wanting to get involved, Lafier made her way back to camp where she began making breakfast for Jon and his guest.*

*Lafier hopped out of the pool... tossing two fishes at the spider after it complained that a large troll refused to feed her. She skipped back to the camp... clean and refreshed.*

The boy stirred, he had been napping for a while. He looked all around at everyone, they all had names, and he thought it was time he chose one. Now all he had to do was think of one.

*After a bit of experimentation, Tullamore was able to find that it was definitly not ice. The chamber was more like a giant geode*

*Lafier wakes up and stokes the fire... looking around for more wood to burn, she looks frightenly outside... Remembering the last couple of times she went "to the surface". she slowly edged to the cave exit, and began slowly looking for wood for the fire*

*Padiel looks so at peace, having fallen asleep beside the fire, the flames flickering on his cheek.

Of Lafier there is no sight, so Orchid decides to go and have a swim in the warm pool, to clean herself.

Quickly passing under the guard-spider, she sits at the edge of the pool and strokes one of the fish, which becomes still, so she can then easily catch it and pass it to the spider.

She then jumps into the pool, and starts to swim around.....*

*Lafier slowly and laboursly drags several medium branches into the cave... she sits heavily on the side... breathing hard.*

*Swimming back from the cavern, Tullamore does his best to avoid Orchid as he makes his way to the camp*

*Surfaces, noticing Tull pass by without paying a tribute to the spider.
She catches an extra fish,climbs out of the pool, and passing underneath the large arachnid once more, places it in the web!*

this catching fish thing is getting easier, the more I do it!

*it takes a minute for his eyes to adjust to the light. a few times lightning flashes behind him casting an ominous shadow into the cave. he heard voices, but they seemed far off. everything seemed far off now. he looked around and could make out the vague outlines of a camp and a few people*
