It's more than just debate about religion, it's personal. Those "poor bastards" crossed the line....way over the line with some of the things they said about me and a few others on there.

Yeah, they made it personal in response to your deconstruction of their beliefs. It shows that the ones who did that are the type of people who resort to insults when they can't make a logical, rational point in an argument. You'd probably be best served to walk away and let them revel in their perceived superiority.
