The Republic of Nighttide votes Aye on the current UN resolution. A staunchly environmentalist nation, Nighttide is willing to impede on the sovereignty of other nations in the interest of protecting the only world we have. If we do not protect our planet now, the future demise of the human race is inevitable. We encourage other nations to swallow their pride and look at the bigger picture. The resolution clearly is not meant to apply to vegetables, grains, and dairy products. We find it highly disrespectful to accuse Middle Earth of writing a frivolous resolution. Obviously those in Middle Earth eat and would not propose a law to starve the world to death. Though the resolution applies to animals, Nighttide's High Council approves, as vegetarianism is compulsory within Nighttide. After all, meat is murder.

While the UME may have meant well, and Canadaplace commends him for that, the phrase "preserve and protect it, in all its many forms whether human, or otherwise" applies to ALL forms of life, whether it was intended to or not. That is why this resolution must DIE A DEATH OF A THOUSAND SCREAMS!

who are these people who keep posting these inane issues? I recently started playing, and going over the UN resolutions past and pending, it's all fluff. FLUFF! Seems to me a whole lot of people want to turn the game into some bastion of a Civil rights Utopia. We should have the option to blatanly ignore certain resolutions, I mean look at china.... they ignore the human rights issues all the time.

I've submitted two resolutions that were pithy, relevant and not even remotely touchy-feely interference things like we see getting voted on every week. Maybe mine were too funny ... I got nowhere.

With shortly over an hour before voting ends on this resolution, the yeas are 7562 and the nays are 11849. It is incredibly unlikely that this resolution will pass.

The Oppressed Peoples of Cannot think of a name salutes and applauds all of the hard work and political egagement that all of the activists, on both sides and for whatever reason, who engaged the memberstates and raised the discourse in the UN. Today is the dawn of a new era, an era where the status quo can no longer be taken for granted, an era where no longer is it simply good enough to have good intentions, we must have good proposals.

Most of all, it is the dawn of an era of an engaged political body, and that can be acredited to the grassroots campaign that was headquartered in this thread. All the telegramers, the speech writters, the members that took this to the voting body to create such a remarkable turn out, you are to be commended. I, the appointed representative of the Incorporated States of Plutarchia, wish to congratulate all those who worked so hard to defeat this resolution, which would have seriously infringed on the rights of all those who wish to eat.

My especial thanks go to Letila, who has appeared to this representative to be the most active of the campaigners.

Furthermore, my government has instructed me to inform you that this episode has illuminated the need for more involvement in the United Nations, in order to better advocate our interests and the interests of those who believe the same as we do.

It's nice to see nations finally rise up and vote against hurtfull resolutions. Thanks to all the nations that voted against this for your hard work. This should happen more often when we have meaningless or harmful resolutions before us.

Union rights is the next one. Its not bad, but it sounds to me like they want to give unions special privileges over other associations.

As a staunch opponant of corporations, I should probably support it.
