Character (you might want to read the description first, i'll try to keep it short, without it you won't get a rough idea of the charachter.)

Name: Zeratul
Age: Young, exact date unknown, recent.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Profession/Class: Psychic
Skills and Special abilities: Psychic (see description below),
Weight: 150 lbs
Height: 7 ft, but walks hunched over and covered in a robe so appear as just under 6 ft.
Special Items: None (psychic abilities, see below)
Weakness: No proficiencies and lack of knowledge
Bio:

Originally intended as a prototype for a weakly psychic slave race. Something went wrong at the final stage of development and he was imbued with immense psychic power. This rendered him temporarily insane, causing him to destroy everything nearby. As a result the majority of his psychic power is repressed until he is able to skilfully manipulate it. Physically he has grey-scaled skin which provides a low level of protection. He is off a roughly humanoid shape and wears a hooded robe.

Since he was created he has no real general/specialist knowledge, no proficiency with physical weapons and armour. However he can focus to create weapons and armour made of psychic force, which are wielded as normal, and act as an extension of himself. Allowing him to focus his protection in one place to absorb a heavy blow or to give an all round protection. They would technically be magical I guess, there not exactly normal, but that would be up to you.

The psychic powers function in two ways
1) They act as force effects, hitting things, lifting things etc
2) 'Tweaking' peoples minds; changing their perceptions, illusions, phantom pain, confusion, "Your mind makes it real" type of thing, you get the idea. It probably wouldn't be very useful against Undead, the whole immune to mind affecting things; hence why part 1 is necessary

The psychic abilities would in essence work like spells, mostly focusing on a single target, though there would be some AoE (Area of Effect) abilities, force waves or something like that.

As a special ability he can try to use his repressed psychic power to perform something he shouldn't be able to do, however there is a chance this will overwhelm him mentally, rendering him insane and liable to attack anyone/anything, or reduce him to incoherent babbling, rendering him useless. The intended effect may or may not happen if he is rendered insane/useless. Both effects are temporary.

Wonder if any of you will recognise the name and some aspects of the charachter, i've kind of based it off something from a game from 7+ years ago.

Yeah, Starcraft was a great game.

I liked the expansion one better...except the ending (but both ended in a way I didn't like...LOL).

It was a great game, the manual turned up recently, it seems to escape its box often and appear in odd places, flicked through it and got the idea of this character in my head.

It looks like i'm not the only fan around... got a massive urge to dig it out and play it again now. Starcraft i can remember almost perfectly, Brood War though, i can remember bits, but not that much, i think i'll have to play it again.

They were almost all great character's, it would be a tough choice for who was best. Zeratul or Kerrigan i would say, Fenix and Raynor were good. Can't say much about the Brood War characters, i can only vaguely remember them.

Tetris is a great cell phone game, but if you are going to be obsessed with a computer/video game, it is usually one that can be played online (as most new ones are).

Oh and does anyone know when the story is going to continue? There's been the odd post or two, but not much more. I'm just wondering if your waiting for Deatharon to move onto the next part of the storyline or if you were waiting for him to agree/not agree to me participating. If its the latter, i would prefer to join away from an inn anyway, and with the charachter it wouldn't be hard to think up a reason.

Just a note Hype, for a dragon the size of Karasu (from what you have described at least - that she covers half a town when she flies over), she would be much greater than several tons.

Also, something of several tons (i.e. about 5 tons or 10,000 pounds), would have no chance of causing an earthquake - not even something resembling it.

Well... a bunch of tons then! I did not specify how many. She is a leviathon. Also, by e-quake, I should have explained I meant ground shaking... not earth splitting, 7.0 on the Richter.. :D

Chance's are a realm of undead would have a bunch of ghosts around, they exist on the ethereal plane i think. Lorathin, Luthien, Zyergi & Karasu would have almost no way of avoiding the notice of a ghost if they came near one, who, i'm sure, would find several humans walking around somewhat suspicious.

Assuming we had any idea where Mavis was, and assuming he had no defences prepared for this, which I doubt. I assume this spell takes a bit of power to hold up as well.

They manifest to the material plane (ad even then remain partially on the ethereal plae), they exist in the ethereal plane according to D&D Monster Manual, looked it up, im assuming Deatheron is working off of that, he has used Necromental's from the Libris Mortis book and his lich has the same abilities as a D&D one.

That Libris Mortis has a whole bunch of other ghostish creatures so there may be things worse than the normal ghosts, i don't have it, a friend of mines been using it for a campaign and i've read a few bits.

Two things:

1) @Hype: Not a big deal, but I have noticed a few things/comments that don't really seem to coincide with the RP. Most fantasy (as in elves, ogres, undead, magic, etc.) RPs and Nations aren't modern in anyway. They usually exist with past technology (think bows, spears, and swords). So mentioning things like bombs and landmines doesn't make much sense. Just a heads up.

2) I will be leaving Saturday. While I will be back the following Saturday, I will probably be extremely tired, and then Sunday is Father's Day. So I might not post again until that Monday, but then I will be leaving again Thursday and be gone until July 5th.

I keep forgetting the time periods in all these posts... I mentioned a TV in a 1600s post!:rolleyes: :headbang:

Age: Around 22.

Alignment: True Neutral

Profession: Four-Dimensionalist.

Skills and Special Abilities: Influence the 3rd Dimension (allowing him to dodge projectiles without moving, take great strides with a step, tear apart his enemies like paper). Effective range 2 meter away from body or via touch for the latter. Is personable up to an extent.

Height: Around 5'9'', but due to his nature he sometimes appear differently.

Items: Wrist, Neck and Ankle Irons, A hand-crafted short dagger. He wears comfortable peasant's clothes. A small vial of water hangs around his neck.

Weakness: Instinct for self-protection due to his nature. He feels vulnerable. Slight paranoia. He needs powerful friends, avoids death-defying feats, trusts even the closest of friends only up to an extent. He tries not to show it. He knows no spells and posess no other weapon specialization apart from hand-to-hand combat and his dagger, but are not lethal with either. Sometimes misjudge distances (Cliffs, Valleys).

Bio: Augustus is a strange sort of fellow. He can be quite charismatic, but you won't trust him with your life. He seems to leave no secrets from you, but you can't be too sure. Every conversation with him leaves him knowing more about you than you about him.

Appearance: The first thing you notice about him would be his uncomfortable orange eyes. He keeps them half-closed, giving him overall a bored, dazed expression. The rest of him does not attract much attention. A simple glance at him with often start and end with his eyes, a fact that he feels unnerved with. You keep having the feeling that you seen him somewhere before.

Two things:

1) The things listed under Weaknesses really aren't... weaknesses...

2) You are going to have to explain your power more than "Influence the 3rd Dimension beyond comprehension."

Two issues before we continue on blindly: A) We don't really know what Death was planning, so we kind of have to make it up; B) As we did in the first one, we need someone to kind of take over the 'creator' role of the thread. Meh, He's merely a challange. Everyone has a weakness.

Your char has far far too much power. He needs to be a bit more on par with the other chars... He cannot avoid everything. Every char gets hurt or has spells put on them, etc.

Augustus is avoiding every single attack, and that is considered godmodding.

I think if a few others were here, you may hear an earful.

It does kind of mention there are different levels of "undecidedness", standard Neutral and True Neutral, it just doesn't specify them as different things.

Well, Ravea only took over one or two days ago.

Basically, everyone left the inn, flew to the border of Deatharon.

Lorathin, Karasu and Zyergi went through on the Ethereal plane, Kalzog flew through on his platform and Armai flew in. They have all met up somewhere on the other side.

Balanite wanted to join and has introduced his char, I wanted to join and have introduced my char, if you want we can probably withdraw them. I put a description of my char back on page 19 or something like that and Balanite's is only 1 or 2 pages back, i'll quote them here if you want.

Originally intended as a prototype for a weakly psychic slave race. Something went wrong at the final stage of development and he was imbued with immense psychic power. This rendered him temporarily insane, causing him to destroy everything nearby. As a result the majority of his psychic power is repressed until he is able to skilfully manipulate it. Physically he has grey-scaled skin which provides a low level of protection. He is off a roughly humanoid shape and wears a hooded robe.

Since he was created he has no real general/specialist knowledge, no proficiency with physical weapons and armour. However he can focus to create weapons and armour made of psychic force, which are wielded as normal, and act as an extension of himself. Allowing him to focus his protection in one place to absorb a heavy blow or to give an all round protection. They would technically be magical I guess, there not exactly normal, but that would be up to you.

The psychic powers function in two ways
1) They act as force effects, hitting things, lifting things etc
2) 'Tweaking' peoples minds; changing their perceptions, illusions, phantom pain, confusion, "Your mind makes it real" type of thing, you get the idea. It probably wouldn't be very useful against Undead, the whole immune to mind affecting things; hence why part 1 is necessary

The psychic abilities would in essence work like spells, mostly focusing on a single target, though there would be some AoE (Area of Effect) abilities, force waves or something like that.

As a special ability he can try to use his repressed psychic power to perform something he shouldn't be able to do, however there is a chance this will overwhelm him mentally, rendering him insane and liable to attack anyone/anything, or reduce him to incoherent babbling, rendering him useless. The intended effect may or may not happen if he is rendered insane/useless. Both effects are temporary.

Sorry if its a bit long. Hope it's ok. Admittedly its a bit more sci-fi than fantasy.

Bio: Augustus is a strange sort of fellow. He can be quite charismatic, but you won't trust him with your life. He seems to leave no secrets from you, but you can't be too sure. Every conversation with him leaves him knowing more about you than you about him.

Appearance: The first thing you notice about him would be his uncomfortable orange eyes. He keeps them half-closed, giving him overall a bored, dazed expression. The rest of him does not attract much attention. A simple glance at him with often start and end with his eyes, a fact that he feels unnerved with. You keep having the feeling that you seen him somewhere before.
