Name: Ar’mai Corvianna
Sex: Female
Race: Elf
Age: Appears 17
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Hair Color: Long Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Profession/Class: Elven Ranger/Priest/Princess
Special Items: Elvin Bow
Skills and Special Abilities: Magic (nearly all of it white magic)
Weakness: Powerful Dark/Black Magic

Ar’mai Corvianna is an Elven princess from the Akenea'raeheal clan. Being the daughter of the chief, she was destined to become a priestess or white mage. At the age of eight she began studying with the elder priests of the clan to become a learned priestess. However, Ar’mai was a free spirit and loved to skip through the forest over studying old manuscripts and teaching. What she especially didn’t like was meditating and praying as it required her to be still and silent for long periods.

Though she did not like the virginal lifestyle, she had to honor and respect her father’s wishes as well as the culture of the clan. While she practiced her white magic, and became quite good at it, she also taught herself how to fight and more importantly how to use a bow. She became a very potent mix of ranger and mage.

Ar’mai is much wiser and more intelligent than her years and personality let on as she prefers an innocent persona to an arrogant one. She is also quite a flirt as most teenage females are and often finds herself teasing those of the opposite gender.

At the age of fifteen a major inter-clan battle began, with the two sides lead by the Akenea'raeheal and Dryearlylth. It was a very bloody war in which neither side came out the victor, but it was very instrumental in shaping Ar’mai into what she is today. Though she was not allowed to participate as a priestess and daughter of a chief, she often watched from afar – and what she saw sickened her as she was exposed to the realities of life and how brutal the world really was. While hiding in a tree, she witnessed a minor skirmish between the two sides which the Akenea’raeheal won. However, after the victors left the scene, she leapt down from the tree to find an enemy soldier of the Dryearlylth clan lying on the floor with a slit throat. He was struggling to breathe and it was evident that he was only a few short gasps from his last, so she took pity on him and drew upon a mighty holy power to seal the wound. She nursed the enemy soldier back to life, though he never regained his voice, and when he was finally well enough he dedicated his life to protecting her.

His name was Bael’ther. He was a giant of an elf, standing 8'5" and weighing in at well over 450 pounds of solid muscle. He was a mighty warrior, decked in ornate armor and wielding two massive swords that seemed to loom of death. He became very protective of her though he remained more of a servant than a big brother.

In their journeys together, Ar’mai and Bael’ther traveled across the known world from the forgotten islands of the south to the dead lands of Deatharon. While in their homeland, they traveled to the west with a young man looking to become a knight by slaying a menacing dragon. Ar’mai decided that they could help each other as she too sought the death of the dragon, though for a different reason. After hunting down the large beast and slaying it with much effort, Ar’mai took its flesh and lured the mythical winged horse Gael’kadar. Once in her presence the horse was tamed and became her personal horse for ever after. After taming the mythical horse, Ar’mai and Bael’ther took it to the forgotten islands where Ar’mai learned many new things. After leaving the forgotten islands, they traveled to the dead lands of Deatharon where they encountered their next journey in which they met a mysterious man (Lorathin), an illegal lich (Mavis), and a lizardman (Sarik).

Name: Zaii D’zol

Race: Human

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Condition: Zaiiz’s right arm is particularly weak due to an early arcane experiment involving a gauntlet on his right hand. He was controlling a lightning elemental under his guardian’s tuition by using the abilities of the gauntlet. Due to D’zol’s inexperience with arcane devices, and the temperamental nature of the gauntlet with different users, the thunder elemental did not obey Zaii’s command. The gauntlet was fashioned out of metal, and lightning elemental struck the gauntlet and entered Zaiiz’s body for a few moments before being promptly sent back to its own realm by a sharp spell from his guardian. His right arm was fractured in dozens of places, and he spent numerous weeks in healing which was assisted by arcane methods. Despite the magics worked upon him, his arm remained prone to breaks which contrasted what normally would happen when an arm breaks. Zaiiz is rightfully cautious when dealing with new arcane devices due to this experience.

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Occupation: Mage for hire. Can perform various rudimentary arcane services for those who require it, such as identification, enchantment and disenchantment, predictions, purification and preparations of items. Zaiiz is also available as a mercenary, typically for protection with another group of bodyguards.

Class: Mage

Skills: Rudimentary knowledge and understanding of herbalism, enchanting, and reading of fortunes. Wider reading and experience of various methods of magic. Limited ability with curative magic. Can detect if another individual has control over the arcane, with a slight indication of how advanced they are. Highly competent handling and control of the arcane.

Knowledge: Etiquette within arcane circles and nobility. Understands combat stratagem through reading and first hand knowledge by working as a mercenary for a short duration with a group of soldiers. Broad knowledge of philosophy and ethics. Highly knowledgeable of the arcane. Rudimentary understanding of first aid.

Appearance: Zaiiz is rarely seen in anything other than his regal and tailor-made jet black robes, which both indicate his arcane abilities and his training. The black robes are made from silk, but tailored in a fashion which is durable and can endure combat well enough. These robes have at the base a thin single silver line which is the identification of origins and source of training (see history).

His robes cover his thin but tall frame, which might cause a viewer to mistake him for elven if it was not for his facial features. His hands are long and dexterous, but pale in complexion like the rest of his body. Often his skin seems stretched painfully across his bones on his hands, and could be judges as evidence of a wasting disease, or at least a toll of magic upon his human body. His muscles are thin but still functional enough to aid him in combat. Unlike other mages, he can offer surprising strength under strained conditions, but he can hardly offer a strong punch. His strength come more when he is enraged, or in the height of arcane power, and has been known to display fits of both physical and arcane rage under highly frustrating conditions.

Upon the mage’s right arm is a series of strange faint blue scars, which look like someone lacerated his wrist with quick vicious slices. On further inspection with a trained eye, they can be identified as an arcane burn from a failed test of magic (see condition) which D’zol looks at to remind himself when he lacked control and paid for it.

The face is sharp and defined, and is rather handsome. With black hair which goes to his neck and often remains behind his neck, and with brown eyes which seem to always be occupied with some task of observation. His skin is paler than most, but still has an odd charm to it. D’zol would be attractive, if it was not for his curt manner and cutting remarks.

Personality: Taking the role of a confident and witty cynic, D’zol is rarely the centre of attention. Rather, he is the dark robed mage which offers a harsh point of reality towards those around him, or a rather black sense of humour at the expense of others. He remains quietly cynical of most people and ideas, but Zaiiz mostly allows others to be as they are as long as they are not irritating him directly.

Confident of his view points and of his abilities, Zaiiz is a competent mage who prides himself in his control of the arcane. He is highly elitist when viewing those without abilities of magic, and even applies this elitism to those who learned magic in less refined and dedicated origins than his own. His prejudice against those who do not embrace and control magic is evident only in his occasional remark, he hardly flaunts his viewpoint to others. He can operate well enough with society to not provoke the hatred of others, but he is viewed as a dark cloud over happy events.

Zaiiz’s primary passion is his magic, but he shares a passion with music. His favoured instrument is the piano, although his dedication within the field of magic prevented him from learning anything more than a few simple songs. Due to this, he finds respect for those who can play musical instruments. He is not bitter for his loss of music, for the abilities of the arcane are enough to keep him sated.

Although Zaiiz prides himself in his control over the arcane, in highly frustrating conditions his rage can display. Such fits of uncontrollable rage are often brought about due to other’s faults, such as weakness, incompetence, deception or acute irritation. Zaiiz will explode into a short highly vigorous rage, taking the form of physical destruction of his environment or should his reasons be enough, the form of an arcane display of his discontent. After such a short rage, he is left wholly drained and often slips into unconsciousness. It usually takes him a day to recover from a power surge of emotions, and it reveals a natural talent which Zaiiz refuses to display under normal circumstances. Zaiiz when lacking control and strength is highly empathetic of others emotions and thoughts, and is effected greatly by them. In combat, this can be fatal due to the negative emotions of his opponents. For this reason, when Zaaiz has performed a strenuous act of magic, he often wishes to be left alone and can see depressed and more curt than usual. His hyper sensitivity towards other people in such times could attribute to his coldness to others when he is in control.

Zaaiz remains true to his word and vows, and rarely gives it to anyone. He remains true to his beliefs, and will rarely jeopardise those who he has a duty to. For all of his bitterness, if he has a contract with someone, he will for fill it regardless of what personal gain he could receive. The only time when he could turn upon his word is when his stronger oaths are threatened, such as preservation of the way of the mage, and culmination of all things arcane. Knowledge is his primary goal, and if he must work within a group honourably to receive knowledge, he will do so. Zaaiz views traitors foully, believing that if one has a moral than he should stand up for it from the beginning instead of deceiving those who he works with.

Strengths:

Social:
• Strong sense of direction, purpose and identity. His confidence leaves him rarely searching for words, and rarely floundering on the field. If no-one is taking charge of the situation, Zaaiz will cut in and take leadership should it be required of him, although he is loathe doing so.
• Ability to act under pressured situations. He can think quickly and effectively and adapt to whatever events reveal themselves which is useful in sudden turns in combat, or a need for a swift bluff.
• Can be turned to for honest advice on subjects. Zaaiz will never shy away from telling people what he believes is correct about someone, and relishes delivering his version of the truth, which usually involves considerable disenchantment of fantasy.

Career:

• Competence in all things arcane. He is a talented and experienced mage, who is adept in what he does. He is more powerful than what he should be for his age, but still has much to learn. Still, his understanding of the subject allows him to learn quickly from others greater than himself.
• Has a rudimentary knowledge of medical matters, and can attend light wounds with first aid and minor healing cantrips.
• Has worked with mercenaries in the past, and worked with many employers for a variety of purposes which could lend to his knowledge and competence in dealing with potential employers.

Racial:

• Empathic. If this ability is called upon, Zaaiz can understand someone’s emotions, and perhaps even understand some of the opinions and views of that individual. However, Zaaiz would have to be extremely hard pressed to even attempt this act, due to experiences with his minor empathetic abilities being negative ones. When he allows himself to be empathetic by lowering his defences, he allows himself open to the seas of emotions around him.

Combat:

• Responds swiftly and quickly to combat orders, having worked with numerous people in the past, many originating from the military. His grasp of tactics is better than most, and he can clearly assess the situation and react to it.
• Competent in working under strenuous conditions. Extreme noise, unsteady footing, perilous surroundings, Zaaiz can still perform magic if he is required. This is owing to his experience in combat, and knowing how to let the world around him shut out.
• If required and highly pressured, Zaaiz may deliberately go into a rage. This is hardly something Zaaiz can control particularly well, but if the combat is going direly, Zaaiz’s frustration with failure can drive him into a short burst of arcane rage which could turn the tide of combat. These bursts are rather short, but devastating regardless.

Intelligence:

• Understands how people interact with one another socially, more so in noble settings. Essentially, a light grasp of psychology and understanding of etiquette. His understanding of psychology comes from his observations of others and that which his parents and guardians taught him, which his understanding of etiquette comes from the nobility his parents and guardians displayed.
• Has read and often discussed philosophy and ethics with others, giving him an advantage in arguments over matter of right and wrong. This is more owing to his own cynical interest with morality, and people’s view and actions regarding it.

Weaknesses:

Social:

• Often a loner or the edge of the group. He rarely says anything which is not functional, serving some purpose, or a cynical remark. His words usually have some subtle barb to them, and he only respects those who grant him the proper respect he wants from others. He can be seen as the looming spectre of cynicism in a conversation, which can lead others to distrust and dislike Zaaiz.
• Has a dark, witty sense of humour which usually involves personal insults towards people. These are more carried in general conversation, but Zaaiz rarely makes pretence to be amiable with the general public. He holds most he meets in bitter regard, and those who are worse than him in control, power or intelligence as lessers. He only has a respect for those who are confident and have abilities to back up that confidence, should it be logic behind a moral viewpoint or a strong arm behind a cause. His elitism towards society spreads over everyone, and only those who are competent in magic gain his true respect.
• Withdraws from emotional attachment often, due to his fear of losing control of his empathy. He wishes to focus on magic, or at least intellectual pursuits than his own false and petty emotions. For this reason, Zaaiz rarely makes close friends or forms relationships that are not temporary.

Career:

• Distrusts and often refuses to use arcane devices. He feels that a mage should rely on his own abilities and skills to advance in the world, rather than relying on an object to perform the arcane spells. This is just a slight grudge, but he will be highly cautious around enchanted objects which are not familiar with. If he is going to use one, he will fully test and understand it before he does operate the device.

Race:

• Empathetic. When weakened emotionally, Zaaiz can become highly vulnerable to being overwhelmed by people’s emotions. Zaaiz attempts to avoid this state of vulnerability at all costs, although sometimes he is forced to give into his rage to have any hope of survival. When he is in this weakened state, he will often be incoherent and appear insane if too many people are around him. He will always wish to be alone and want to regain his composure and strength over time, which varies depending on how much strength he has consumed (hours to days in the most extreme circumstance). A vicious cycle of rage and emotional vulnerability could emerge, due to Zaaiz’s wish to be completely alone if he is surrounded by people which could potentially kill him from pure exhaustion.

Combat:

• Zaaiz has a weakened right hand and arm, which could shatter again if put under heavy strain. A typical event which could cause this is Zaaiz blocking a heavy blow from an axe with his staff, and his arm shattering from the sudden jarring motion. This is why Zaaiz usually wears heavily padded gloves into combat, or avoids combat at all. His fighting style usually revolves around defence, rather than taking the blow directly, he will let the opponents’ energy carry them forward. Zaaiz is still not adept in physical combat, and will often use considerable arcane energy to avoid it.
• Rage. A rage of energy will leave Zaaiz highly vulnerable afterwards, and often completely defenceless. If any opponents remain, Zaaiz will lack the strength to retort with another display of magic, and be sensitive to people’s emotions. For this reason, a rage is rarely allowed to occur. Zaaiz has developed a level of control, but this control could slip easily if he is pressured enough by opponents.

Intelligence:

• Lacks musical talent, and musical knowledge. He does not know the names of great composers, nor great works. He appreciates them, but is hardly cultured in music.
• Knows little of the religious Gods and methods. He does not understand how clerics and druids draw energy upon their faith, and is mystified by their rationality for Zaaiz does not understand this faith in the divine, having never been brought up on such an idea, or requiring it. For Zaaiz, magic is his religion and the idea of asking a divine source for power is absurd.

History

Zaaiz D’zol was born into a travelling and highly selective organisation known as the “Seekers”. With no more than ten members at a time, it was more of a family which defended one another and assisted one another in a shared passion. The passion for magic. All members were highly competent magic-users, and often travelled from city to city performing numerous tasks for the city for money to pay for further arcane knowledge and advancement of their craft. The Seekers were viewed with some suspicion, due to their highly reclusive and elitist attitudes towards those outside of their order, but accepted due to the services they provided…and the fact that few would refuse them entry. The combined effort of these wizards could cause considerable damage if they wanted to.

Zaaiz travelled with his father, a powerful mage who belonged to this organisation and learned the craft. Zaaiz had natural talent, and displayed great skill and competence with altering the very fabric of reality. Belonging in a fiercely loyal and dedicated family unit, few of which were related, they travelled around and learned more as they proceeded onwards. Each member of the group would tutor the young mage, giving him a wide understanding of magic and numerous resources which they had culminated in their travels.

Eventually, around the age of 18, tragedy struck the travelling group of mages. While travelling through a small village and staying the night within the caravans they journeyed in, they were attacked by the entire village. The reasons which they struck were never fully known by Zaaiz, but he pieced together a story of prejudice behind the village’s violent assault. The village apparently held them responsible for a freak thunderstorm of malicious proportions, and set fire to the caravans. The combat was swift, but costly to the group. Only three mages survived from the ambush, one of which was Zaaiz. The mages had defended themselves against the rioting villages with merciless spells against them. Zaaiz experienced his first fit of rage during this combat, and blacked out during it after an immense wave of fire against the villagers.

The morning came, and the survivors of the combat discussed what was to be done. Few members survived, and Zaaiz’s father was badly hurt. His left arm had been foully burnt by an explosion of potions which had reacted with the fire the villages had caused, preventing him from performing magic again. The Seekers disbanded bitterly, the dead Seekers were buried, and his father went to a nearby city. Zaaiz wanted to continue his journey alone, which his father fully supported.

In the time that followed, Zaaiz offered himself as a mage for hire, working in numerous cities and villages for various services. The money which he received from these small jobs paid for further advancement of his craft. And this is where Zaaiz remains, working for hire until a cause calls him up enough which will serve his goal of gaining more arcane power.

Profession: Ermorian Censor
Alignment: The dead seek only the death of the living. Depends on who you ask.
Sex: Male?
Race: Undead human
Age: Unknown (Ancient)
Height: About six feet
Weight: Very heavy
Special items: The Sickle whose Crop is Pain
From: The Ashen Empire of Ermor, but would he tell you that? No.
Weaknesses: Unlike the Liches, the Wraiths and the like of the Ashen Empire, not immortal in the truest sense of the word. The natural hatred for the living might blind him with rage at times. Some other, less obvious weaknesses are present as well.

Appearance/weaponry/armoring: Always wears a pitch black power armor, with odd, green flames coming forth from the seams - in other words, from the areas around the joints. The area of the helmet where his eyes would be burn with green light. Wields something that looks like a BMG with some sort of shielding. In close combat, he usually uses two short swords with burn with said green fire - or might use the Sickle instead of one of the swords. The green flames are known as banefire, one of the physical manifestations of the hatred of the dead towards the living.

Bio: Once, he was a proud Censor of the Holy Empire of Ermor. But that is long in the past - he no longer remembers his life, nor does he care of it. His unlife, as the unlife of the rest of those within the Ashen Empire, revolves around the destruction of the living within this realm of existence. All this is willed by the Lord of the Underworld. Through the Lich Queen who leads the Ashen Empire, He demands it of them. He made them. And they shall give Him this - or be destroyed whilst trying it. Time is on their side, after all.

And that is why the Censor would be here, now. The existence of something that claims to be on equal ground with the Lord Himself is unacceptable, and the Lich Queen has ordered him, this lone Censor, to go forth and search for the answer - he is here to find out if this rumor is true or false.[/

This seems like two characters, but they are one in the same. Her dual identity is a secret!

Hey, hey! I'll be in this with Ar'mai and Bael'ther.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/DMG2005/ArmaiCorvianna2.jpg

Name: Ar’mai Corvianna (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/DMG2005/ArmaiCorvianna.jpg)
Sex: Female

His name was Bael’ther (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/DMG2005/Baelther.jpg).

After hunting down the large beast and slaying it with much effort, Ar’mai took its flesh and lured the mythical winged horse Gael’kadar (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/DMG2005/GaelKadar.jpg).

Ask Theao... I think he wrote up a brief summary somewhere.

(The following is extremely brief)
The Lich Mavis lived in the undead lands of Deatharon. He decided he wanted more power, but (I forget why) he needed a soul. Thus he left in search of someone that could create him a new soul. Before leaving he met up with Lorathin and Ar'mai (and Bael'ther, Ar'mai's 'friend'). Lorathin new of a few people that could do such an incredible act as creating a soul. They set out in search of one of the people. They met up with Sarik, a lizardmen, on their travels. The first 'person' they met that could create a soul refused. They moved on to another person and that person eventually created him a soul.

I can fill in some of the holes in this story.

Mavis became a lich to gain power and immortality. Which he achieved but unfortunately, He was slowly losing his humanity due to giving his soul in exchange for becoming a lich. This was something that Mavis could not afford. He tried to resist by creating or attaining a soul to replace the one he lost. Which he did but now Minax has captured him and is going to use her malevolent and dark power to make him into the perfect instrument of death and destruction...

I would reccomend providing a little detail about your nation or the land this is going to be taking place in (including stuff about gods, the undead, etc.)

Blastit has expressed some interest but he is not sure whether he is going to join or not. Also, he might join but not with Sarik (the lizardman who joined the party), but rather another character that was introduced in the RP that came after the Lich one.

ok, I'll join lol ;) I'll bring in one of my fun characters from the other RP :D

Name:Kalzog Eyegouger, The Flayer
Race: Ogre
Physical Discription/Appeance: Massive, 12 feet tall, and about half as wide. He is a massive muscle bound hulk. But he also has a large belly, so he may look somewhat fat in the stomach, but it only hides his chest muscles. His eyes have a redish glow to them that gets brighter as he gets closer to a battle or something chaotic. He is covered in stringlike black tattoos that curve all around his body like smoke. What isnt covered in tattoos reveals his dark peach colored skin. He has teeth like small daggers and extremely bad breath. He wears greyish platemail armor on his shoulders, and a loincloth over leather pants below his waist.
Powers/Speciality:The tattoos all over his body are not there just for show, they protect him from many many spells, including some extremely powerful ones. His skin is extremely protective from most weapons. He is also an acolyte of his god of Chaos and War, and has been known to summon lesser creatures of his master, and has quite an expansive spell book in his head, most resulting in something gruesome. Being an ogre, many creatures get the impression he is big, dum, and slow...Well, he is big, but he is also quite smart and he is surprisingly fast.
Occupation: Fighting magicians, dragons, and whatever else gets in his way!
Age: Upper middle age, but has been alive for a looong time!
Gender: Male
Where From: Unknown, but has recently built a small hut in the Orders lands...
Alignment:Mostly Evil, but has a good side to him
Weakness: What can stop this seemingly unstoppable force? Nothing has yet, but he is only one man...If swarmed, he will surely pound everything to a bloody pulp in time, but if the enemies work together and tie up his arms and legs so he cant use them....thats just real hard to do when u got a massive ogre in a frenzy... He is also a bad long-distance runner. There are some other ways to kill him, that being the one of the hardest, but they'll be revealed later on
Skills and Special abilities: Incredible strength, surprising agility, tattoos protect from magical damage as well as physical
Weight: Hehe, probably about a ton, or atleast 800 pounds
Height: about 12 feet
Special Items: Tattoos, sturdy club that can crush some of the strongest.

The Races native to The Grand Shadow Empire of Deatharon..

Undead: They forged the Empire under the Shadow Emperor Alfred Von Antheron, The Arch Lich of the city of Death Hold. They tend to make up the ruling class and they make up a large chunk of the warrior/wizard classes. The Undead are also considered the dominant race in the dark lands of the Grand Shadow Empire of Deatharon.

Human: The largest race under the Undead. They primarily inhabit the countryside of the Empire. They are considered citizens of the Empire provided they pay homage to their local liege lord and the Emperor. They also tend to serve in the Imperial Legions. The Humans have also come to accept the teachings of Minax and the other Deatharoian Gods mostly for the belief they will protect them from their own terrible powers.

Dark Elf: The Dark Elves were discovered fairly recently. They were originally found raiding the Iron mines used to produce weapons for the Imperial Legions. The Emperor responded by waging the Underdark wars against them. The underground cities of the Dark elves were attacked by the Grand Imperial Legion itself and countless beings died in the underground combat. The war ended with the seizure of the Dark Elf City of Mezkinban. The Dark Elves in this city are given Imperial citizenship in exchange for military service. This has led to increase of Dark Elf soldiers, clerics, and necromancers in the Imperial Legions. They have also cast off their belief in the old Dark Elf gods and started to convert to Minax and the other Deatharoian gods.

Ogre: The Ogre tribe of the Kaixon mountains is a constant thorn to the Empire. They constantly come down from their mountains and wage war against the Empire and it's citizens. The Ogres have been known to target the outer territories near the Kaixon Mountains for easy plunder. The Grand Shadow Empire usually responds with counter raids against this unruly tribe. The Empire claims the mountains but the Ogres are the true rulers for now.

Mountain Troll: Mountain Trolls are usually found in both the Kaixon mountains and the Blood Mountain. The Trolls are usually considered a neutral force unless either the Orcs or the Ogres influence them.

Orc: The Orcs of Red Mountain are a small kingdom of Orcs led by King Vikmora Red Eye. That is trying to stay independent from the Ogre tribe of Kaixon. They have agreed to fight as auxiliary units for the Imperial Legions in exchange for food, Gold, and weaponry. They are considered an imperial Vassal Kingdom and are given Imperial support. The worship of Minax has also become popular amongst the Orcs thought they see her as a massive orc called Draongon. Which translated by Imperial scribes means. "The Destroyer of All."

Goblin: Goblins are native to the Kaixon mountains and the Red mountain. They tend to serve the dominant force either the Orcs or the Ogres depending on were they live.

Giant: Giants are seen mostly in mountainous areas and they tend to serve whoever can pay the most. They are considered a mercenary force in the Empire's territories. The Emperor has currently ordered the death of the Giants found deep in the Empire to raise them as Giant Zombies.

Black Dragon: Black Dragons are considered semi-Imperial Citizens but some of them have become rogue from the main Dragon Flight that rules over the vast swamplands of the Empire. There are occasional disputes that tend to lead to skirmishes across several areas of the Empire. However, for the most part the Black Dragons stay in their territories and leave the lands of the dead alone..

The Organizational Hierarchy of The Grand Shadow Empire of Deatharon:

1. Shadow Emperor Alfred Von Antheron: The Supreme Emperor of the Grand Shadow Empire. His word is law and all follow it. He commands the various ducal councils and other undead nobility. He is thought to be divine thanks to his lineage with Minax thus many consider him a demi-god.

2. The Imperial Shadow Warlord Position Vacant: Traditionally the Emperor's champion and protector of the Empire. The Imperial Shadow Warlord acts as the Supreme Commander of the various Legions and their commanders. The current position is vacant because the last Warlord Carl Kazar was killed in the Underdark wars and no one has replaced him yet.

3. The Imperial Shadow Council of Archdukes: The Imperial Shadow Council of Archdukes is made up of the most powerful Arch Liches in the Empire. They are the official heads of the Great Houses and carry out the direct orders of the Emperor. They also tend to deal with the internal problems of the Empire.

4. The Imperial Council of Dukes: The Vampire dukes and Duchesses of various Duchies across the Empire they are usually the representatives of the Great Houses. They usually carry out the orders of their masters the Archdukes/Arch Duchesses. They also control the various lesser vampire nobles..

5. The Various Organizations and Guilds: The Deatharoian temples of various deities and the Necromancer Guild. The Shadow Guild and the Order of the Crimson Skull.

6. The lesser nobility: Is made up of various titles ranging from count, baron, and viscount. They are all vampires and tend to dominate over the humans and other undead within their territory.

7. The Grand Imperial Legions: The Standard military force of the Empire made up of both undead and various other living creatures. The Legions are the primary land force that attacks various enemies of the Empire. They can be ordered to merge together and fight against one opponent in a massive crusade. This is when the mighty Grand Imperial Legion is formed to crush the most troublesome enemies of the Empire.

8. The Grand Imperial Navy: The Grand Imperial Navy is made up of the fallen ships and dead of countless pirates that meet their fate at the bottom of the Dark Sea. The Emperor and other powerful necromancers raised them from the water and forced them to a fate of service of the Empire. The pirates are under the domination of their necromancer captains.

9. The Peasantry: The various peasants and the other common citizens and subjects of the Empire.

10. Slaves: The countless Slaves used to work for and feed the undead of the Empire.

(OOC Excuse the layout of this bio, but I already had it prepared for another forum. I decided to use this character for this forum as well. And his name *is* Zaii, not Zaiiz as it might have appeared later on.)

Wonder if I'm too late... Well, even if I am, here's what I'd bring into the RP.

Name: Laidukh

The existence of something that claims to be on equal ground with the Lord Himself is unacceptable, and the Lich Queen has ordered him, this lone Censor, to go forth and search for the answer - he is here to find out if this rumor is true or false.

OOC: Thanks, to Mavis’s traumatic experience with the Dark Web he has forgotten much of the Lich quest and it’s characters.

I assumed he wouldn't... :D

The Earth Necromental rose practically under their feet. It made a massive rumbling from the ground as it raised itself up from the ground. The Earth Necromental looked like a nine foot tall rock creature with skulls and signs of rot and death on it. The creature radiated dark energy as it raised it’s massive fists ready to pound it’s opposition to the ground…

If this Earth Necromental utilizes Dark/Dead/Necromantic Energy, then could I assume that it would try to stay away from holy/light magic? If so, then I am just reminding you of the holy ward that is on the ground around Ar'mai, Lorathin, and the elven girl - I assume it would do something, be it even small?

It's not really the bowling (Basketball!! The Ogres put baskets at the end, behind the sticks, to catch the ball!!) that is the evil thing...It's what Kalzog plans in the process of bowling. It's more of a long term thing. I think it would be a pretty good plot twist...lol

Say, where is that black fog coming from? Speaking of which, what's in the middle of this temple?
Deatharon
12-05-2006, 00:24
The fog is coming from an elven water fountain that has been corrupted by the dark power of Minax. It is in the center of the temple in the throne room.

The central part of the temple is the main chamber it contains a giant statue of the Elven god that has been damaged and practically turned to rubble.

If Zyergi enters the temple, A small group of two Grave Dirt Golems will activate and attempt to kill him. If Zyergi defeats them and enters the throne room, In the area behind the statue of the temple's main chamber. He will discover an arcane-summoning circle around the fountain and several sleeping Tombstone Golems.

They will be activated if you step within ten feet of the fountain. Their is also several tables that contain books and writing pens and ink...
Ravea
12-05-2006, 00:32
Thanks. Zyergi will probably have to fight those first two golems pretty soon, seeing how he's already into the temple. I don't see Zyergi having any major inconviences against two golems, but I don't fancy his chances against more than two at once. Hopefully Kalzog and Steve will make it to the throne room sometime soon.

Name: Karasu

Race: Human/Dragon; can switch between at will. I forgot what the tech. name for that is.

Sex: Female

Height/Weight: 5'5"/120 lbs.

Eyes/Hair color: Change colors... just about every color/Black hair with one streak of each: red, blue, and green, white, yellow.

Abilities: Martial arts; all of them, proficient with Nihonto, Wakizashi, kunai knives, tongfas, and all other shinobi type weapons. Can also manipulate her chakras so as to perform feats of 'magic', although it is chakra manipulation. (IE: If you have ever seen Naruto, think that kind of jutsu chakra manipulation), can change into a huge black and gold dragon at will. Can see auras... a being's alignment, healer, telekinesis <--is that one OK?

Occupation: Hired bodyguard, occasional hired assassin... shinobi type, also is dragon

Age: 7,000 years old

Birthplace: Unknown

Weakness: As a human, being only a human, until she can turn into her dragon form.

Physical Description: As usual, she's stunningly gorgeous , very strong, has dragon tattoo starting at her right hand, winding around her arm, over the shoulder, and the majority of the art is on her back. It is all black and gold. She wears a black and gold kimono, or black jumpsuit with her face covered with a black cloth tied behind her head in a ponytail, her face covered. That is for covert work. Carries all her weapons on a belt around her hips. Her kimono is all black, with gold around the edges, and a gold obi, wrapped around her waist traditionally, but tied in front. Yes, the cleavage shows. Small gold Kanji decorate the area above the gold edges, creating another edge. Various dragons in different shades of gold and black/grey decorate the rest of the kimono. She wears an onyx and gold choker with the chakra for 'life' hanging from it. Long gold chandelier earrings. Sometimes her hair is in 50+ braids in a ponytail, sometimes it is up traditionally with stunning ornaments, sometimes she wears it down... to her waist. She wears semi-high heeled boots, covered by her long kimono. They are specifically for fighting. If she is carrying many weapons, she wears the belt around her hips and covers herself with a black and gold cloak, so as not to expose them, otherwise, just a Nihonto thru her obi, and her other weapons in a leather duffle with a strap... she carries this around with her. The weapons are all manner of Japanese shinobi and samurai weapons.

Alignment: Chaotic neutral. Everything depends on the situation. She is wise because of her age.

As a dragon:

Height/weight: 50' tall/weight... a couple tons.

Eyes/Hair Color: Multicolored eyes... they change like a rainbow at times, body is black and gold.

Abilities:Flight, breathe fire, breathe ice, lightening strikes, can spit acid. Can drop gold dust on people as a sign that she is protecting them. Telepathy with other dragaons.

Occupation: Karasu in her dragon form

Age: 7000 years

[b]Birthplace[/]: Unknown

Weakness(es): Magical arrows, cannot use weapons

Physical Description: Gorgeous, graceful black dragon with wings, gold streaks running from tail to head and outlining other areas of the dragon. HUGE! Causes large shadows when flying overhead.

Alignment: Chaotic neutral, leaning toward chaotic good. Is a protector the majority of the time. Very wise.

History: Has experienced all manner of good and evil because of the long life. She has experienced war, peace, changing times, all manner of beings, and never lets on that she is The Black and Gold Dragon. The Black and Gold Dragon is famous for her extreme protection of others against all odds and revered. Those sprinkled with gold dust consider themselves blessed.

This seems like two characters, but they are one in the same. Her dual identity is a secret!

Okay quick summary,

Mavis destroyed an Elven city when he came back to our plane of existence.

He is heading towards Death Hold (Grand Shadow Empire Capital.) so he can lay low till the month goes up and he can perform the ritual at the Gods Graveyard of Xhanthou.

The ritual is designed so he can destroy the world with the Hand of Destruction a gift from his Dark and Evil Goddess Minax...

The adventures are trying to stop him or kill him for fun as in the case with Kalzog the ogre.

Your character has been accepted, also with all of your character's abilities of turning into a dragon and all. You should be more than a match to handle most if not all of the tougher villains. That would be kind of odd (at least in my mind) for two reasons. The first of which is that they are fighting the undead and the undead are almost always affiliated with the 'evil' or 'bad' guys. The second thing that would be odd is that some of the people (i.e. Ar'mai, Kalzog, and Lorathin) in this know her from the ventures with Sarik.

Hey, Random Question:

is butter considered a dairy product?

Why isn't the plural of Mongoose, Mongeese?

Why isn't the plural of Butter, Butters?

1) Yes, butter is a diary product.

2) Because the geese and the mongeese had a massive war and the geese won. As part of the Treaty of Versailles, the mongeese were forced to give up their claim to the geese part of their name and change it to gooses.

3) Because South Park copyrighted the name long before butter was ever invented.

Telekinesis, and I would like the barrier as well.

a) Luthien already showed her apprehension by remaining behind Ar'mai despite Ar'mai's reassurance.
b) She said "Sorry, she doesn't like you." The sorry is obviously a big part of it.
c) As I said, she can assume/think what she wants.

DEATHERON: I was wondering if it was OK to add to my powers: ability to put up barriers for protection. I just realized that this is very magic oriented, and my char has NO magic powers, unless someone has an idea of what I may add to put myself on par with the others. Perhaps my dragon gold dust can do something?]

First and foremost the proper word is Deatharon,

You can have a defensive barrier however, it must make sense to your characters ability and not be something that is far too powerful. Like one of those super magical barriers you see used by Gods and so forth..

I am not saying you shouldn't or couldn't have one. I am just stating that telekinesis can be quite useful and powerful. Ever wanted to disarm a band of enemies in one swoop? Actually it wouldn't. Prescience is suppose to give the most likely outcome, not the guaranteed outcome.

No... that isn't true.

Prescience is knowledge of actions or events before they occur; foreknowledge or foresight.

Yes, but the future isn't written in stone. For example someone with Prescience sees a plane blow up. During the vision they see some identifying mark. They tell the authorities, that plane gets checked, as do the passangers/cargo. A bomb/fault is found, vision averted.

To quote a proverb
Forwarned is forarmed.

A) That still negates free will.

B) That is not what foresight as seen as. It is the vision of the future, not a possible future that can be changed.

C) If it were what you were saying it is quote paradoxical and thus again a load of crap. If you were to see the future and then avert it, you didn't actually see the future because it didn't happen and thus you averted nothing. Grandfather paradox.

Apparently visions of the future run in my family.
I always have micro-ones. Nothing really important, and it's not so much that I see it, know it will happen, then it happens. It just sort of unfolds, and I remember it as having happened in a dream that I'd buried.
A great aunt and uncle of mine once shared a dream of an incomplete log cabin near a river, and thought it odd that they'd had the same dream on the same night.
Years later, that aunt was called because there had been an accident involving her brother. Apparently he'd been taken to the log cabin they'd seen in their dream, after the accident, and he'd died there.
Kinda creepy... makes me hope I don't have any shared dreams with my sister! :)

It also gets into quantum/temporal mechanics which is why we're both hopelessly underqualified to discuss it on a scientific level.
A. How, you wouldn't have to do anything, it'd be social consious to do so(in my example)
2. Foresight yes, prescience, no
3. The grandfather paradox is a possible problem of time travel, not a definate article, and one I personally believe is bs.

(I will ignore the fact that you changed from the alphabet to the number system in your counting of points)

A) It isn't necessarily your free will is lost, but rather someone elses. If you see see a future in which someone is about to kill someone else, and that future becomes true... then that person has to kill the other, or otherwise it isn't that future.

B) Prescience is defined as foresight.

C) Care to explain how you believe it is bs (you do realize that it can't technically be bs if its conditionals are met).

I "have" that too. A lot of people do. Something happens and you suddenly think you remember thinking this before - or in a dream. Generally, it is not true. It is part of the human brain and psyche. (It also happens to occur more in people who think about that type of thing, which evidently you do as you say it 'runs in your family')

I do that occasionally for listing points.
1. Everyone has some lack of freewill, ie: You don't have a choice if you get hired/fired, it's up to someone else.
2. Dictionary?
3. The conditions for the Grandfather paradox are as follows: I go back and kill person X's grandfather/father so he no longer exists. I then return to the present. I understand the standard argument, being if he never exists why do you have a reason to remove him from existance.

My belief is that what's in your mind doesn't change because the rest of the world does because you are the one who instigated the changes..

I suppose if you actually went back into the past to change it, then went back to the future, you'd keep your memories of what you did in the past... because if you can keep your memories going backwards to remember that you wanted to kill someone's grandfather, then I don't see why you wouldn't keep your memories going back to where you came from. But no one else would remember that person, or his family anymore, and the world may change in a small or large way, depending on who you killed.

Yeah, I've heard the thoughts on 'deja vu' like what you're saying. That it's actually just a glitch in the brain where they see/hear something twice in quick succession.
I don't buy it. Not since I purposefully changed a conversation once. This was quite a few years ago now, so I don't remember it anymore, just the sensation... at the time I could have told you how the conversation would have gone, if I'd allowed it, but I changed it in my part and it felt very.... bad. It felt like I'd broken something, or stepped outside of what was meant to be, and it was the strangest feeling I'd ever had.
And anyway, that theory doesn't encompass the story of my great aunt and great uncle who shared the dream of the cabin. I'd love to see how scientists would try to explain that one away.

1. No, because the act of being hired/fired is not an action of the self. It is someone else's action (in which they have complete free will whether or not to hire you). All it does is change your condition. Free will is based on action not condition.

2. Yes.

3. Actually, no that isn't the Grandfather Paradox at all. The Grandfather Paradox is as follows: I go back in time (and appear in the same universe) and kill my own biological grandfather (either your mother or your father's father) prior to the birth of my mother/father. Therefore, I no longer exist because my grandfather was killed before he could father my mother/father and thus my mother/father couldn't have me. However, if I was never born, then I never could have gone back in time and killed by own grandfather, thus he was never killed. But if he was never killed, I would be born and could go back... and so on.

She only said it once (in the other RP) and Karasu was in another part of the palace at that point.

She had never said one thing about elves, high elves, or her clan being better than others prior to or after that - she hardly even spoke of the elves at all. Besides, it is widely considered that Marsh Elves are a fallen offshoot of the elven race; they are ugly, deformed, morally corrupt, warmongering, and partially evil.
