Long story, I'll just say it's from a dead language and had more layers of symbolism then is healthy.

As one who has constant trouble with grabbing the computer/making it work, I'm inclined to cut Techon (and anyone else) some slack. Maybe he's just posting to things he can get done quickly? This one takes some time to juggle all the latest moves.

I'd hate to see this die, after so much has gone into it. I want to know what happens to everyone else's characters!

I've been working around my schedule so I can post here, but then again I do most of my work on this computer anyway.

I'm fine with delays for a while yet. I've got work piled up so high that It'll take me at least all weekend to finish. If Techon isn't able to post before Wednesday or so I'll have my deva step in and say something but I'm not about to exclude him in any case.

Okay, have caught up wit, like, stuff. I think some people (namely flick) have misunderstood Jenna's point - what I'm saying is chosen ones is pretty vague. She wants to know, well, basically what Techon just told us. If she was told that and maybe given a bit of proof, she'd be fine with it, but right now she is just being given "thou art teh chosen ones" rhetoric and she smells a rat. We need explanations people! The proof can come after, so it'll be specific. She hates being lied to, and she'll get impatient if any more waffling occurrs.

Shall we kind of agree on what each character's "power"y type thingy will be?

We could pick up Resquide's idea abt "powers" -- have the group chattering after orientation abt what power they'd like most to have -- and then have somebody notice that Person X is silent. Why? Because of news from home. X quotes news. Appeals to others for help. Group exits school, solves problem, comes back, in big trouble but bonds forged in side-adventure help them weather it ...?

Misc description: Shy around social events, but not so much in the classroom. Usually people come to him when group projects are involved, because he takes demand and gets things done right. However in the gym class people tend to shy away from picking him unless the activity involves some sort of running. Yes, he's good at running, but no, he's not on the track team.

In his spare time he plays many many video games, one of his favorites being an anime, 2d-styled, fighter called "Guilty Gear". He also is quite skilled at DDR (Dance Dance Revolution). He also enjoy watching anime, Sci-fi, Mystery, action, and horror flicks. Another intersting fact is that Cal here LIKES to get scared. He sees it as the truest form of excitement and entertainment.

He is very sensative, but hides it until he is alone. He can appear quite boy-ish too, however he does have a feminine side that he only shows when he is a) hyper or b) around people he feels comfortable with.

Coming from "The Holy Empire of Sacred Knights" he doesn't feel quite safe anywhere else. He was pleased with this country, and just like everyone else there he was patriotic (However didn't show it as much). Sometimes in conversations he will mention how 'good' "The Holy Empire of Sacred Knights" (AKA: HESK), and he doesn't mean to come off as bragging, but of course, it does.

Sacred Knights: I'd recommend that you read through the last 3 or so pages of Martizar (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=354628&page=42&pp=15) to see if you like the way things are going. The plot has gone kind of fantasy/sci-fi and if you don't mind that direction I'd say you should feel free to join. Techon said that the room had more people then just our students so it would make sense to run into a new person. In other words feel free if you can integrate your character into the way the story is going.

Everyone: I was going to do my best to continue with Techon's plot idea using my deva but I'll be willing to let us ignore the issue for now and return to our next classes (Make the whole thing into a mass delusion? Everyone remembers it but no time is actually taken?). I just sent Techon an e-mail, but I agree that we need to continue with something. I'll see what I can do, feel free to put your input here. I need all the help I can get.

Sorry I've been awol for a bit, guys. This seems okay, big drawback being that very few of us have classes together. So. We are going to need to agree that people can make up secondary characters, ie non-chosen ones who are in our classes, also we need to decide if these classes are taught by a normal faculty or THE faculty.

I've worked out that I have Political Science Prep (if it is day A, which I assume it is), and I don't think anyone else is doing that, so obviously I will need to give my class some people.

Oh, and Nation of Fortune - classic, we needed one of them. However, if you've read some of the rp you'll realise it's in the past tense. Get with the program, you're making my head ache. And stars are for msn. ** Just write like a you would write a story.

The only problem with this is that not all of us have consistant access to computers at times that is convienent for everyone all the time. A perfect example is school. I live on the west coast in the US, while sombody else might live on the East coast While he gets out at 3:00 his time, I get out at 6:00 his time. I dare even think what time it is in Europe when I get out of school

Sorry for letting this fall to the wayside; I'm just lucky I wasn't the only one. Should we scoot along to the next class or wait for Sacred Knights and Techon? Murdock could easily be excused by virtue of our headmaster and Caldrin could just take a truancy for sleeping in.

It doesn't give the less busy (-Noir- and Draconis :p) of us much to do if classes aren't coordinated at this point. Something to work with a little more? Suggestions, anyone?

Sorry -- such a lot to catch up on -- 1. diva/deva: one you find at the opera. The other you find in India (or, if you're into alternative lifestyles, in the vege garden helping your sprouts sprout and your marrows marrow). 2. Makybe Diva: the mare that won the Melbourne Cup. I was gloating over the way this RP had given me a tip. Too bad I was too broke to follow it up. 3. Timetables: I don't think we should put the attendance notes in the actual RP; wouldn't it be a bit boring for anyone not involved who is reading it? I'm not really sure why we have to do it at all. Can't we just assume that this school is totally flexible? If we want to RP in a particular class that someone has already begun, we can just wake up our character. If we want to comment on something that happened in a class we didn't attend, our character "overhears" people discussing it or asks the relevant character -- what's this I hear about you in Maths? -- or chats about it at break or in the dorm.

However, if we must, we must. But please note Flick is excused Maths because she's working on her Y12 major work. If this would make her older than the rest, just assume she's not, but she's been streamed ahead in Art -- in the part of Aust where I live, kids can do Uni/TAFE subjects while they're still at high school, if all concerned agree, and surely Maritzar would be just as advanced as the backblocks of Oz.

Which said, forth I go to plunge lead-footed into Brit Lit.

to keep it simple, why dont we just go straight to the meat of the RP and start RPing the story, we could just say we went to the classes and such and dont really need to RP them unless it has something to do with the story...it could suddenly be the end of the day after classes...then if you need to RP something that happened in a class during the day, you could RP it as a flashback or something...

By the way Noir, I like how you want to take Theology, I was thinking that I would take the same, but didn't know if it would be realistic or not. (My schools never had Theology ; ;) But since you are taking it, Caldrin will too, since I know so much about certain patheons.

Yeah, I suppose we can go with those classes then. I always thought the old one was too complex. This rp is really winding down, isn't it? You know, if we get bored, we could always just choose a mild mysterious supernatural power for each character and have the whole thing die via somekind of mysterious supernatural explosion and our characters are back in their old lives, but different, so now we have backstory AND contacts if we want to use them in another rp.

Anyway, I think theology is okay IF it's a class where you study all sorts of religions, their differences, why they started and how they've influenced people.

Too little time, far too much to do. I'm going to start writing my next post which will conclude in Angelica dropping into the Brit lit class with Caldrin and Flick. I'm saying that it is second hour and that Angelica misses the rest of math. Actually, cancel that, I'll keep my idea for the meeting with "Sara" and reveal it slowly with little hints and flashbacks.

they are better...it's easier to get wanted levels now...but...at least there are no more spike strips

I'm here, but waiting for Sacred Knights or Findhorn to respond to my last post. We managed to be in the same class. Though when they find the time I'll probably be too busy to respond...

Thanks to -Noir- and Resquide for keeping this moving and interesting... I think I'm going to try to move along Techon's plot when I get the chance since he's too busy to come around much and we need some kind of plot movement. As a warning I'm not exactly creative and I'll tend to be conservative developing plots, feel free to go on with an idea without any restriction.

Now, back on topic, what happened to that whole Powers thing? I slipped in a bit about jenna's, which sounds like it will develope into the kind of thing where she can tell where everyone is and what they're feeling, all the time, and on occasion concentrate and see through their eyes. Thing is, that talent seems to be setting her up for leadership - come on, what leader wouldn't want to feel his troops like that? And quite frankly i can't see anything else it would be good for. So it's either that or right-hand-person and advisor to whoever is the leader due to charisma and stuff. Of course she's got to come to terms with the whole un-scientific-ness of it all first.

The point of the post was to get her talent visible. She can manipulate energy lines, or whatever; anyway, it also means she can make things assume any state they might naturally assume -- the classic coal into diamonds trick, with the hook that she can also turn diamonds into coal. But at the moment she can only do it if she's not conscious of doing it.

-Noir-, could this help "repair" Makie? Or do you already have plans for that? Alternately, it could be something that works only with inanimate matter, not on self-aware beings; depends how things go.

Hey, -Noir-, I was just kidding. I think your romance is good stuff. Resquide's, too. I hate writing romance because you've got to be so observant. You know, how your beloved always nibbles the end of her hair when She's thinking, or how He's got a second toe longer than the first. I don't usually see my characters in that much detail. And all those tactile words ... as far as I'm concerned, hair is either soft or not soft, neat or untidy, long or short. Once I've run through the combinations of those, I start writing stuff that sounds like shampoo advertising. Erghhh.

However, she didn't go up to Makie and there's nothing really to link her to what happened -- she's in this odd state of mind where what she does seems normal to her because she's the one who does it, and she's not consciously deciding, "I shall now employ my talent," it's just there. She isn't actually aware that she's done anything, any more than you're aware of breathing (unless, like me, you're asthmatic -- I hate this weather!). So whatever goes on, I can write her around it so my mistake won't stuff up the story. That's why the ,"I think ... " at the end, too; maybe Makie's not responding.

Nobody else can see the "silver thready things". They're energy flows in Makie's body. I made them silver because that's her sister's colour. I'm sort of imagining that her current state is caused by the conflict between body and mind(s) as her link with her sister and the separation of their personalities become stronger. But I haven't actually [i[said[/i] that, so it's still fixable.

BTW, on the romance scene, why hasn't any female felt "a curious lurch in her stomach"? That's a constant in the field, you can make it mean anything. (I used to feel a curious lurch in my stomach every time I saw the principal of my high school, since he always meant trouble, and it confused my reading of romance novels no end.)

So whatever goes on, I can write her around it so my mistake won't stuff up the story. That's why the ,"I think ... " at the end, too; maybe Makie's not responding.

Nobody else can see the "silver thready things". They're energy flows in Makie's body. I made them silver because that's her sister's colour. I'm sort of imagining that her current state is caused by the conflict between body and mind(s) as her link with her sister and the separation of their personalities become stronger. But I haven't actually [i[said[/i] that, so it's still fixable.

BTW, on the romance scene, why hasn't any female felt "a curious lurch in her stomach"? That's a constant in the field, you can make it mean anything. (I used to feel a curious lurch in my stomach every time I saw the principal of my high school, since he always meant trouble, and it confused my reading of romance novels no end.)

So...What do I write or fix?

You don't have to do anything, -Noir-. Just go on as you intended all along. My point was just that nobody actually saw Flick do anything, and she wasn't consciously aware of doing it, so as far as she's concerned and everyone around her is concerned, nothing happened.

However, if something does happen -- eg, you have Makie sit up or say something or just look better or register alive on the machines -- then I will have Flick feeling pleased with herself, then wondering why, then doing the "I didn't do that -- or DID I?" bit.

So your next post will be you doing whatever you want to do, and my post after that will be moving Flick a tiny step along the road to realising (a) nobody else sees energy flows (b) she's got a weird talent (c) she can use it.

When should I pop Jenna back in? I was thinking maybe after all the excitement dies down and Makie is taken away (or not, or whatever) Alex goes looking for her and she's like, sitting in a tree with either no recollection of or some kind of peace with her gift.

Alternately she could wander into whatever is happening - especially if this situation escalates into something major. I want a big conflict in here at some point.

Wow, I totally lost this site for like five days. Damn computers. At least mine now works, for a given value of "work" anyway. I pulled Jenna back into the action by just sorta assuming she's been around all this time but hasn't needed to show herself cos she knows whats happening anyway.
