Flag Thief

Greetings, good players of this game!
I am Flag Thief, I steal people's flags.
I keep them on my nation for approximatly 24 hours, then I steal a new flag.
I will always inform my victims of the theft, and have their name in my motto.
I steal flags I like, or just as a joke from people who I think can appreciate the joke.
My first victim can be seen on my nation today.
Do you think your flag is worthy to be stolen by me for a day? Then say so right here in this thread.
Flag Thief.

Neat Idea, although I would recommend a link to your victime and their flag, each time you perform a new theft you should make a fresh post, IE,
Expalantion of the target, a view about them,
*post link here*
*link to flag here*
and a nice lil message here,
I feel this would make your quest entertainig, and would serve as a nice place for folks to look at.

Good suggestions, Loop.
(Also, wasn't it funny I was born in the East Pacific?)
Well, on with the show.
My first victim was SalusaSecondus (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=salusasecondus), because who wouldn't love to play a little joke on NationStates favorite (and only) modling?

So far, my victims' responses were very kind.
And yes, I only steal custom flags.
Today's victim is: The twoslit experiment (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=the_twoslit_experiment), Delegate of the North Pacific.
Why I decided to steal his flag?
Because it's one really insane flag, those dots jumping around are enough to drive a sane person nuts.
Therefore, he is today's victim!

Flag Theif,
I have someone you who you could steal their flag. In fact, he is having some pretty difficult times and I think that if you stole his flag and told him that I sent you, it might cheer him up.
The nation is Dantes Devastation.
He has been having some pretty difficult times lately, and is yet facing another one. He is a really close friend and it is hard to cheer him up of late.
I just thought that would make him laugh because that is the type of guy he is, laughes at things like that I mean. Anyway, I just thought I would tell you about him and that if you do steal his flag tell him that I sent you. And, if you want say something that might be funny.
I would tell you what is going on, but I do not feel that it is my right to talk about something that concerns him.

I, persoanlly don't see anything morally wrong with it, as long as one's flag is borrowed just for a day. Too bad Norion doesn't have a custom flag and Loope kepts changing his. You should steal Franco and Posky's flags. It would give as a clue as too how little sense of humor they have by whether they are polite, flame or, oe accuse you of griefing (in the later case you may want to change it).
Somebody really ought to do a pretitle thief. Hmm. . .

I think you started a following, you have the fans, and in a way you might push people to want to make a custom flag. I didn't make mine I got it from my regional delegate who made a bunch of flags for people in the region. maybe you can steal one of his. He made this one, his own, I know on the board a nation called Antilly thanked him for his flag. He told me he made Palestine Proper's flag and Klingon Culture's too...that was actually why I asked him to make mine because they were cool, but although mine doesn't move like theirs...I know no body else has it! ;-)
I told a friend of mine to get one and I think he just got it, his nation is called Tarlachia. I wish I can tell you more nation flags he made but that's all I know. I can ask him if you want or you can. Oops I never wrote his name it's United Middle-Earth. His is cool but I LOVE the one he did for that Antilly dude.

But there are some set rules.
-Post a link to your victim, and their flag in this thread.
-once you're caught, give this puppet back to me, so I can pass it on to the next Flag Thief.
-Don't change the password.
-Don't steal from the same person (or group) twice.
don't keep the flag longer than a day (about 24 hours)
-and of course, you can't steal a flag, unless you are in the same region as your victim ;)
-name your victim in the motto.
-always stay polite, and give your victim a telegram, informing him or her of the theft, with a link to the post.
Anyone interested, telegram me on this nation, i will pick the next Flag Thief.

Howdy folks!!!
A brand new Flag Thief is on duty, all ready to temporarily take over nation's flags.
I send ya'll this message from the continent of North America. My first victim is The United States of Brians Room (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=brians_room), the delegate of North America. This flag was chosen in light of the utilitarian originality of the design, as well as the upstanding reputation of the nation flying it.

Greetings and Salutations my friends!
The nations in North America did not take kindly to me temporarily taking hold of their beloved delegate's flag. I had missiles launched at me within hours of me taking over USBR's flag! Such hostility, those Americans!
So, I travelled to a new continent, to see if the reception was more friendly there. After my arrival, I noticed this flag, by The Venetian Duchy of Hein (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=hein), the delegate of Africa. What struck me were the colors in the shield, as well as the heavy use of framing to give the shield more stature... but in the process it makes the shield look small and insignificant instead. This indicates a strong focus on esteem and honor as something to achieve in the future instead of something that one has today.
Prince Jimi, through his advisor Roberto, announced just today that the Italians had invaded Hein and have established a sub kingdom. There's lots of interesting stuff happening in Hein!

I can't help but notice that quite a few of the flags featured herein are very un-flaglike. They're just pictures. Not that my flag is "all that", but when I created mine, I decided on the national colours (green, white, and silver), and chose simple but meaningful symbols. The large star represents the island itself and the smaller star represents a "guiding light". Anyway, you get the idea... bold colours, simple symbolism. My flag might not be worthy of thieving, but at least I put some thought into it, instead of just sticking a jpeg I happened to like in its place.

My flag is reasonably flag-like, and it does indeed have significance related to the structure of my country, but it is IMO the most boring flag of all my nations. I have some 40+ puppets and a good three forths of them have custom flags - pretty pictures, themed flags according to the name, fun gifs, expressive symbols, what have you - they aren't all 'flaglike' nor do I think they all should be.

Welcome, welcome, Flag Thief listeners all around the NationStates world!
Our stay in Africa was surreal. LOTS of stuff happening there, including an invasion of our previous victim, Hein, who subsequently had no further need to have the stolen flag returned. Honest thieves as we are, we decided to deliver the flag to the new government in Hein and leave it up to them to ensure the flag's return to its rightfull owner. Let's hope they survived the revolution...
With all those events happening, we were wondering why this wasn't being reported. Surely the media would be interested in covering the turmoil in Africa! A visit to Networkradio made this clear... Good Morning everybody!
We've spent a quiet Saturday in media country. Other than the distant sound of type writers (what happened to the IT revolution?!?) and an occasional reporter zooming past, nothing really happened. We planned to drop by the presses to see the newspapers being printed, but they turned out to be closed on a Sunday morning. Rats.
With little to do, we looked at the only lead we had received. The following recruitment telegram. Yes, someone actually attempted to recruit your Flag Thief!
The Nearly Invisible Colony of Independent Freedom II
Received: 1 day ago
Greetings Flag Thief 2, The RRA is a rapidly growing, highly organized region, where nations have banded together to help out regions in their time
of need from foreign invaders and unfair delegates. We are non-aggressive and only help when asked and when needed. We leave as soon as a new delegate
has been democratically elected and the threat to the region is over. We are currently looking for new soldiers to help us out in our cause. If you
are an active nation and would like to join a worthy and fast paced cause please move your nation to RR enlistment and talk to Esdevia
immediately. If you have any questions regarding the RRA or our policies, please T-gram me
While having no intention to actually join these people (who seem to have a problem properly copying and pasting paragraphs without adding in additional linebreaks ;) ) we decided to travel to this "RR Enlistment" region and see if we could at least find a new flag there. Lo and behold, on our way over there we came accross none other than Nusseburg (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=nusseburg) flying into The Rejected Realms (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=the_rejected_realms), apparently having been kicked there from his home region of Atlantic (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=atlantic). Hopefully cheering Nusseburg up a bit, we decided to stop here in the Rejected Realms to pay our respect to this new arrival by stealing its flag.

A Good Morning to all Flag Thief fans!
Our Sunday turned out to be quite eventful. Our previous victim, Nusseburg, left us to return to Atlantic, leaving us standing with a flag in our hands. What to do? Travel to Atlantic as well just to return the flag or move on without returning it? Flag Thief did promise to return all stolen flags, and so we prepared ourselves for a long journey to Atlantic. Didn't we cross that ocean before, going from North America to Africa?
Just as we had packed our bags and were ready to begin our journey, we suddenly discovered our vicitim had returned to The Rejected Realms. How convenient! After handing over the flag back to a slightly bruised Nusseburg, we decided to follow the path previously interrupted: on to RR Enlistment (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=rr_enlistment) we went! It's fortunately only a short distance between The Rejected Realms and RR Enlistment, so after a brief travel we arrived at our destination with almost all our provisions unused.
The recruitment telegram we received earlier included the statement: "move your nation to RR enlistment and talk to Esdevia immediately." Well, we wouldn't be a Flag Thief if we would follow orders that easily, now would we? So, instead, we boldly stole Esdevia (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=esdevia)'s flag! Let that be a lesson to all those organisations bothering others with recruitment telegrams: send a telegram to the wrong nation, and your army might end up short one flag!

Flag Thief threatened!
Yes, you hear that correctly! Earlier while in North America missiles were launched at your Flag Thief several hours after our arrival there, this time around it took the RRA a grand total of 16 minutes to send us the following telegram:
The Republic of Geomania
Received: Seconds ago
You better drop that flag, buddy. Only RRA soldiers can carry that.
Will Flag Thief be able to hold on to the stolen flag? Will the RRA make good on its threat? Will Flag Thief have to flee the area and not be able to return the stolen flag?
Tune in later for the answers!
Flag Thief
Clearly the Republic of Geomania didn't pay attention to your name, honored Flag Thief. If you have need of a sanctuary, I am (almost) certain you will be safe in Sparta.
We have no objection to anyone flying the Glorious Flag of Ghout, so long as credit is given, so you will have a target of sorts there.

Comrades!
Our stay in RR Enlistment turned out to be just fine after all. Despite the swift threat we received, nothing actually happened to harm us. As it turned out, the recruitment officer the telegram told us to contact was idle for 9 days, and is still sleeping soundly. And therefore we were able to return the flag to its original owner quite unnoticed. This does leave me wondering how many recruits are now waiting in RR Enlistment for a response from that RRA officer... What a way to treat new recruits!
So I was thinking, where will I find a more sociable environment? One where people are greeted as brothers in arms, and all are equal. No officer from up high yelling at someone who happens to be flying the 'wrong' flag! After a brief journey through some more left-wing regions, a good flag caught my eye. But getting there wan't as easy. After scaling the walls under cover of darkness at a good location which shall remain secret, I worked my way into Alliance of Socialist States (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=alliance_of_socialist_states). Since the region is protected by a password, the guards on duty were not expecting a flag thief to work its way into those grounds! So, while they were a bit distracted by yaks and bunnys, I managed to grab the flag of their delegate: Amarna (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=amarna)!
Right now Amarna has 12 endorsements, which I've been told usually is a tad higher. As it turns out, this region was recently devastated by a horrible, horrible griefer, who fortunately was summarily deleted by the valiant mods. On my way out, I made sure the delegate was warmly tucked in and wished Amarna pleasant dreams. These past few days have been horrible enough already. I'll be extra carefull with this flag.

I do apologise for any injuries sustained when the stealth yak sat on you - a simple yet effective way of restraining villains, we find. Friends!
Spending a day in the Alliance of Socialist States (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=alliance_of_socialist_states) was a good choice. After being temporarily restrained by a Stealth Yak, the nations there turned out to be quite friendly and kind-hearted. One word of advice though: Yak milk does allow one to make Yak cheese, but it's not something for the faint of heart.
While there we learned more about the region. Apparently, they've requested the appointment of a Founder, something that is done only in exceptional cases. Flag Thief does not wish to argue on whether or not this particular region qualifies as exceptional, and instead had its mind wonder back to the last time a Founder was appointed... Europe (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=europe)! It was granted a Founder mainly because it's such a large region. The largest user-created region to be precise. It has many, many nations... so... many, many flags as well! So, on to Europe we travelled, and swiftly arrived in the enormous and ancient region.
A wealth of flags! And very difficult to choose! We need to steal one that symbolizes the very heart of the region, one that shows the pulse of activity all around... And then, despite all the options available, the choice became oh so obvious as well... We stole the flag of EuroFounder (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=eurofounder), the nation which was designated to be the Founder of Europe. But the name kinda made that one obvious, right?

My Darlings!
My day in Europe (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=europe) was a lot of fun. And yes, that region is WAY too big to cover in just one day. As their map (http://www.satanstephen.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Europe.jpg) shows, the place is absolutely huge. Ok, you could've just looked at the number of nations and know the same thing, but the map is actually quite pretty to look at. If you squint really hard you can see me just south-west of EuroFounder (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=eurofounder) making off with its flag.
Another day, another flag, and therefore time for another victim. As we were gathering our belongings and getting ready to leave for an unknown destination, someone pointed out to us that Flag Thief was ranked first in Europe for being the Most Liberal. Not bad, considering there's 800+ nations in Europe! And third in the world too! We're quite happy about that, and very honored as well. Feeling all gay and merry we went on our way and travelled through a couple of regions, wondering where to stop next.
Our journey ended upon our arrival in the region Gay (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=gay). A region to match our happy mood. Ok, soon enough I figured out that this region was named for the other meaning of that word. Fair enough, because it's what in ones heart that truly matters. And this region is very liberal too! The nation with the absolutely gayest flag also has the delegacy there: Nonsimplestan (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=nonsimplestan). And that, my hugable friends, is the flag I stole today.

Salutations!
While the region Gay (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=gay) surely is a pleasant one to stay, it did seem like the residents only had eye for one another, so I did feel somewhat neglected. *snif* At least I got lots of hugs. Now I'm ready for some conflict again. Well, let's not try to get shot at again, but just a bit of turmoil would be nice.
Wandering around, I stumbled on a little region called Andreas (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=andreas). The Founder, the puppet nation of a Senator in The Meritocracy (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=the_new_meritocracy), died some time ago leaving the region without defenses. Oops. And surely, someone walked in and decided to become delegate there. On top of that, someone else decided to declare war in name of The Meritocracy. Without approval of said region. Now that's an even bigger oops.
And so it happened that soon thereafter into Andreas jumped an ambassador nation to represent The Meritocracy: Legatus I (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=legatus_i). The object was to reach a peaceful end to the conflict through diplomatic negotiations.
I'm not sure whether this has succeeded or not, it does look like it at first glance. While the ambassador was distracted with the negotiations though, I managed to grab its flag! For the next 24 hours, this flag now flies over Flag Thiefs head. A very dignified flag, if I may say so.

Party on dudes!
The complications in Andreas (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=andreas) seem about wrapped up now. The old founder nation has been resurrected and the region awaits its return in anticipation. Time for Flag Thief to move on again, so we returned the flag previously stolen from Legatus I (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=legatus_i). Before we left, the ambassador nation told us:
This particular flag is the ambassadorial flag of The Meritocracy, designed by the Senator from the nation of Winnipeg (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=winnipeg). He has designed several high quality flags, and I suggest you ask around someday about them. merit.jink.org (http://merit.jink.org/)
After watching the diplomatic exchanges I found my way to Middle Earth (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=middle_earth). Ahhhh.... the woods of Rivendell, the elves... or so I thought! Almost immediately upon my arrival I was almost crushed by a mob of soccer fans leaving the train station. They came from Northern Wastestan (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=northern_wastestan) where their team, the Red and White Wizards from Warnocks Wizards (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=warnocks_wizards), had played a victorious match. A 2-1 victory!
Following the partying crowd, at a safe distance, I got to hear all about the apparently magnificent goals of Bagdreg the Mauler and Ashmazh the Tough, yet even after asking some of the calmer soccer fans I could not get any more specific information about the other team's scorer than that it was 'probably number 11, what's-his-name, or something like that'. Well, who would expect objective observation from a dedicated sports fan?
The party lasted quite some time, and the chaos enabled me to steal the flag of the winning team's nation: Warnocks Wizards (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=warnocks_wizards), who also happens to be the UN delegate of Middle Earth. After storing the flag in a secure place, I decided to join the festivities!

Never, ever try to steal a flag while suffering from a hangover. Seriously.
The soccer match victory party in Warnocks Wizards (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=warnocks_wizards) was big fun. Waaayyyy too much fun. So now Flag Thief is feeling a tad woozy. After randomly stumbling around, I found myself in Alcatraz (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=alcatraz) staring at the flag of Vazquez (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=vazquez), the President of the Allied Defense Network (ADN) Hmmm. It looks like a good flag in and of itself, but I somehow have the impression I've seen it before somewhere... It looks... familiair. So, I sat down in a tearoom and had myself some coffee. If I had walked into a coffeeshop I probably would've ordered tea instead. It was a quiet lunchtime, a welcome break from the hectic festivities of the night before.
Although the place was clean and tidy, the lady serving me some coffee looked like she had been working at Waffle House for 40 years. She was very kind, and so didn't hesitate to ask her about the flag. The answer convinced me I shouldn't have had those last few Cuba Libre's the night before. I decided to spend more time in the tea room sobering up, while chatting to the waitress. She told me more about the ADN, and I listened to the stories about heroic defenses of regions, the treaty with the Atlantic Alliance (whom I recall from a previous encounter, though I didn't mention that to her), and the current Senate Meeting taking place, which is set to last about a week or so. She also told me about some other big shots in the ADN, like Pope Hope (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=pope_hope) (the guards in Nasicournia (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=nasicournia) still won't let me in), Shiff (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=shiff), and NeoMetal (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=neometal).
Looking through some ADN flags, I knew I had found my next victim. I quickly finished my last coffee, gave the waitress a far too generous tip, and left for New Sparrow (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=new_sparrow). There, after getting the delegate Tygaland (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=tygaland) to allow me to stay despite not carrying a blue UN button, I stole the flag of Borogravia Moldavi (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=borogravia_moldavi). Moldavi, Ivan to friends, is the founder of New Sparrow, the ADN Prosecutor General, and the ADN Secretary of State.

As I was typing up my report, the following happened:
32 minutes ago: The Colony of Flag Thief 2 departed this region for The Rejected Realms
32 minutes ago: The Alpine Principality of Tygaland ejected The Colony of Flag Thief 2 from the region.
This despite the delegate's earlier message:
The Alpine Principality of Tygaland
Received: 45 minutes ago I see, as we are a UN only region we must ask you to move on quickly.
Also note the false claim on the New Sparrow board that I refused to move on:
32 minutes ago The Alpine Principality of Tygaland Flag Thief 2 was exactly as his name suggests. He was asked nicely to leave but refused and so was ejected.
Now... now... I can no longer get back in to return the flag to its rightful owner!!

New development!
The Alpine Principality of Tygaland
Received: 5 minutes ago We cannot have non-UN nations in our region who have no intention of joining the UN and of residing in our region. That is why we ejected you, you have been removed from the banned list so may return to "return the flag" but you may not reside in the region for any period of time.
Such hostility! Usually I reside in the region of the victim for a day, where I stole the flag. That way returning it is easier and all sides know where the flag in question is at all times. Sadly, this will not be possible in this case though. As usual, I will return the flag tomorrow.
Seconds ago: The Colony of Flag Thief 2 departed this region for Alcatraz
3 minutes ago: The Colony of Flag Thief 2 arrived from The Rejected Realms.
5 minutes ago: The Alpine Principality of Tygaland removed The Colony of Flag Thief 2 from the regional ban list.
I hadn't even had the chance yet to post the normal announcement on the region board, which I now have done.
Seconds ago The Colony of Flag Thief 2 Greetings,
Flag Thief announces having stolen the flag of The ArchDuke Hegemon's Realm of Borogravia Moldavi, for the period of one day. (about an hour ago, actually...)

On behalf of New Sparrow and our Regional UN Delegate Tygaland I would like to apologize to Flag Thief for his less than friendly reception in our region. We have been the subject of several threats of invasion recently and therefore are on a higher alert than normal so drifters aren't as welcome.
She also told me about some other big shots in the ADN, like Pope Hope (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=pope_hope) (the guards in Nasicournia (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=nasicournia) still won't let me in)
hehhehheh.....

Keep fighting the good fight, sisters and brothers!
Happy the disturbance of the previous day was settled amicably, this morning Flag Thief returned the flag of Borogravia Moldavi (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=borogravia_moldavi) and quickly went on its way. Can't stay too long, as Flag Thief still hasn't got itself a blue UN badge and isn't about to get one either.
What is it with UN membership that some regions care enough about it to enforce it on their member nations. Or, as I've also seen, they sometimes forbid them from joining the UN, like in The New Meritocracy (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=the_new_meritocracy) (where, as a sidenote, some Senators are planning to declare war on Flag Thief (http://merit.jink.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2367)). Wondering about the reasons why, I travelled along when a sign caught my eye.
Death to the Liberal UN! We will rip out their hearts and steal their souls!
Now, there's a statement. This goes well beyond enforcing or forbidding membership. It's an active stand to change things. Not to mold the UN to their own vision, but to kill it outright as something so vile it has to be purged from existence in such a graphic manner... ?
Looking around, I noticed I had wandered into Gatesville (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=gatesville), a region containing over 400 nations which, lo and behold, DOES have a UN delegate and quite some UN nations in it as well. Apparently this destruction of the UN is scheduled to take place from within. I guess.
What flag shall I steal? There's some really pretty ones here, like the one flown by The Wind (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=the_wind) and Domocolees (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=domocolees) (whom we remember from some misty event in The North Pacific where this nation got kicked out together with Nootroughsis).
After some browsing, I decided to be predictable nontheless and steal the flag of the delegate, Rose-Colored Glasses (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=rose-colored_glasses). Being the UN delegate of an anti-UN region surely must be an interesting job. I now have one day to try and understand. Also, in the World Factbook Entry it is stated: "We are having a vote on the regional flag in the forum". I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe my flag will win? ;)

Good afternoon to all Pirates and Mermaids,
The fight against the UN in Gatesville (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=gatesville) seems to be without end. Especially if one considers one has to join said organization in order to fight it. Harsh words were flung towards the global usurper of sovereign powers, and with that it was time for a break.
With just one small bag to carry around, I boarded a morning flight to a remote island for me to get away from all the turmoil. The night before I was wondering that surely somewhere in NationStates there must be a small paradise suitable for some R&R. A helpful travel agent guided me in the direction of the region Ztorque (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_region/region=ztorque), and my mind was made up rather quickly.
The holiday brochure reads: "Discover this precious jewel in the middle of the world. Spectacular views and world-renowned wilderness, clean air and cool fresh water, are proof that Ztorque has been truly blessed by nature, like the Great Ocean's last remaining intact tropical rainforest."
Sounds good!
Arrival and hotel check in went smooth. I didn't bother to unpack but grabbed my towel (I'm a frood who really knows where his towel is ;) ), and headed for the beach.
To my utter dismay, the peace and quiet didn't last long enough for me to even enjoy one cocktail. Ztorque residents appear to be in uproar! A troublemaker was booted, the previous delegate left (once I'll get more information on why, I'll let you all know) and a mass exodus is now feared, and a new delegate has taken charge. Fortunately this new delegate, Amarohalla (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=amarohalla), isn't unknown to the region as she has been the delegate there before.
Observing these nations, I did notice Amarohalla's flag. The ribbon is a symbol in support of breast cancer awareness, and hence the reminder for all women to get their mammograms in time. Such a noble cause. I couldn't get myself to steal that flag, it just didn't feel right.
And that is why I stole the flag of Awesomnia (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=display_nation/nation=awesomnia), the Ztorque forum administrator and creator of the Ztorque Map (http://67.68.12.167/pictures/ZtorqueFinal.jpg). Nice job there, and thank you for your flag! ;)
