Driretlen reloaded his desert eagle with an air of nonchalance. Around him were the severed and bullet ridden bodies of members of the AVO. Driretlen scowled as he felt a cough well up inside of him. He punched his chest, and loudly coughed three times...

During his coughing spell, Driretlen mowed down another 4 AVO vampires foolish enough to take him on.

"These are vampires too long cut off from the old ways. thought Driretlen. They know nothing of the art of fighting. Nothing of respect for those older and wiser."

Driretlen glanced around. He did not like what he saw. Though he could not be sure, it seemed that the AGVO ranks had thinned at a higher rate than their foes.

Driretlen did not like this.

"AGVO, gather to me!"

All vampires involved in the melee stopped for s plit second. Those on the AGVo's side ran to Driretlen and then turned towards the outside. Soon, they had formed a large protective circle, protecting each others backs.

Moving in the same motion, the vampires dropped their swords and clubs and pulled out their guns. They ranged from Desert Eagles, to Ak-47s, to Kalishnikovs. All were equipped with UV-extract bullets (Think Underworld).

At the edge of Driretlen's periphery, the guild leader thought he saw Skadi and Maximus stalk into the AVo building. Alas, he could go after them but he had more pressing issues.

"Fire!"

As the guns erupted in flashes of glory, Driretlen could only think of one thing: Where were the VP?

Maximus had quickly followed Skadi into the entrance, and glanced backwards quickly. The coast was clear. No one would see them enter from the outside.

Skadi had moved with astonishing speed toward one of the two guards just inside, and had already begun violently drawing out the blood of the man. Maximus turned toward the other guard, who obviously had never seen a vampire attack this way before. Maximus growled and jumped onto the man, his own fangs ripping into his neck, and drawing blood until the body was drained completely. Blood remained on Maximus's face as he dropped the body, a snarl now on his face. He was feeling quite murderous now, and little would stop his assault.

"HEY YOU! ...WHAT THE HELL??!!" yelled another man who had come running into the room, to investigate the commotion at the doors. Maximus growled at the man, drew Glamdring, and rushed him with incredible speed. A few seconds later, the man's head slowly slid off his neck and hit the floor, his neck spouting blood everywhere. The dead man's hand dropped the gun it had been holding as the body careened to the cold tiled floor. Glamdring shone with the blood and silver mixed together.

Maximus glanced at Skadi, already on the move toward the next room, in search of Hondur. He followed, Glamdring dripping blood on the white tiles. Skadi also had a look of rage and murderous intent fixed upon her face.

And as for the silver thing, I'm going by how I Rp vampires. I think everyone RP's their chracters differently, even though we are all vampires. Sun can kill Driretlen, and it will, eventually. If you wanna use silver, go ahead.

IC: Several vans pulled up, about 100m away from the raging fight. VP officers poured out of the vans, cocking the weapons and awaiting orders. Garm and Osiris both had silver blades strapped to their backs. Garm held a FN-P90 and had two holstered Desert Eagles. Those were his only VISIBLE weapons. Osiris held an MP5, two holstered Berreta 32's and a asortment of grenades strapped to his combat webbing. They both wore kevlar body suites and were packing silver ammunition. Garm spoke.

"Alright. Everyone is an enemy here. If you don't see a VP symbol, kill them. Be aware and be smart, this battle won't be pretty."

Garm cocked his MP5.

"Let's go!"

Withdrawing her samurai blade, Skadi ploughed through several men as they approached her. She stepped into a large hall and was immediately met with gunfire. Diving behind the table, she caught a glimpse of three men with AK47's.

Skadi looked around the room, observing the sterdy wall behind her. The AVO members were 20m across the room. She could take them. She moved back so the wall was a few inches behind her. Still crouched, Skadi sprung into the air, flying several metres up, close to the high roof of the hall. In the instant that she came to a halt, Skadi pushed off the wall behind her and shot forward, across the room. Above gunfire, above AVO members.

Twisting within the air, Skadi came down in a twirling motion, blade extended. In two clean swipes she beheaded one man and sliced right through another's chest. The other had no time to react as Skadi moved forward and wedged her sword through his throat.

"Maximus, we need to move under this building. There are tunnels under here, Hondur is being held behind a large metal door."

Skadi wasn't quite sure how she knew this, but she assumed Hondur had given her such information.

The AK-47's began to utter their throaty roar as three men aimed at Skadi, trying to hit the vampire. Maximus knew she needed a diversion so she could take them.

"Hey you three! Can't we all just talk about this?" He yelled to the three men brandishing the powerful guns. They turned toward him, a welcoming target. One man grinned, then led the others as they began to try and shoot Maximus. However, he moved too fast, the bullets were hitting the spots where he had already been, but wasn't anymore.

"Ohhh...I understand this language!" Maximus called out, pulling out the two Desert Eagles, and began firing back at the men. The three men had completely forgotten about Skadi, who used the opportunity to eliminate and silence the aggressive guns.

"Maximus, we need to move under this building. There are tunnels under here, Hondur is being held behind a large metal door."

Maximus nodded, and then noticed an old door off to the right, partly hidden in the shadows.

"Over here! I've found the entrance."

Maximus sped through the room, and crashed through the door. A narrow spiral staircase descended into the bowels of the earth. He jumped up onto the ceiling and began to slink his way downward, senses heightened and searching the abyss below for signs of life.

Dropping down to the dirt floor below silently, Maximus followed the shadows, Glamdring hidden out of sight, but ready at a moment's notice. Skadi followed closely, trusting Maximus's sensory skills to find Hondur.

Skadi quickly cleaned her sword off on the lifeless corpses then followed Maximus down the stairs. She could sense that Hondur was close, but she could also hear the footsteps of several men. Hondur was well guarded.

Landing on the floor behind Maximus, Skadi sheathed her sword and withdrew her Berettas. Already cocked, she flicked the safety off and prepared to use them.

"There are many men ahead. Guarding Hondur. They will be heavily armed."

She silently moved forward, following the noise her supernatural hearing picked up.

Maximus cleaned Glamdring quickly, then sheathed it, and unholstered the two guns.

Maximus reloaded the two Desert Eagles, and readied them, as Skadi told him what he had already suspected.

"Let's go." he replied, a sinsiter look upon his face. This was turning out to be an exhilirating blood festival.

The followed the sounds of Hondur groaning in pain, and of the guards shuffling about.

Skadi nodded. Moving around the corner, she stopped dead. Standing in front of a massive steel door, were ten AVO gaurds. All heavily armed. The group turned as Skadi approached, looks of anger crossing their faces. All raised their weapons and prepared to fire.

Skadi leapt backward, unleashing several rounds from her pistols. Downing two men before they could fire. She kept moving, at speeds impossible for a mere mortal. Skadi leapt into the air, kicking off the walls as she advanced toward the group of AVO members.

Maximus saw Skadi disappear in a blur of movement, and snarled at the approaching men focused on him.

The two Desert Eagles began blazing and shooting the men...but there was a problem....they weren't falling!! It finally dawned upon Maximus why. They had been wearing kevlar suits!

"Damn it!" He cursed. The clips empty, Maximus dropped the guns, and drew Glamdring. A shot rang out, and his body spun in response.

A hole had ripped into Maximus's shoulder, exposing the bones within, blood pouring out of the wound. Maximus saw one of the men with a shotgun, still smoking. The silver in the bullet burned, really burned into his flesh.

He roared in pain, and dropped Glamdring. The four men facing him immediately took the opportunity to subdue him. They quickly relieved him of his sword, and daggers... He snarled into the face of one of the men, who was on his back, using his weight to hold him down.

This was bad...very bad...and he knew it. He needed to do something. Using his good arm, Maximus pushed upwards off the floor with superhuman strength, and flipped forward onto his feet.

He may not have had his weapons, but he sure as hell wasn't going to go down without a fight. Two men charged him immediately. Maximus was ready for this, and simply sidestepped one of the men, foot extended to trip him, as the man fell out of control, and smashed his head into the brick walls.

The second started swinging his fists at the vampire, attempting to connect with the face. Maximus grabbed one of the man's fists with his fangs, and sunk them deep into his flesh, causing the man to scream in pain. Maximus let go and pulled the man closer, as he hammered a powerful shot to the ribcage. The sounds of breaking bones could be heard, as the second guard began to spew blood from his mouth.

Turning toward the remaining two men, Maximus snarled and started after them, his shoulder still in extreme pain. The two men, surprised at his viciousness offered little resistance as their necks were snapped, the faces oddly facing backwards.

Maximus turned toward Skadi, who was finishing up with the remaining men. The tunnel swirled around him, as the silver began to take its effect on him. It had been a powerful shot, and had hurt like hell. Gripping his shoulder, he stumbled toward Skadi, attempting to remain conscious. Finally, the wave of pain subdued enough for him to reorient himself.

As Skadi bounced off the wall, she downed another man. Her clips empty, Skadi launched her pistols at the guards. One hit with such a force that it crushed a guards windpipe, whilst the other was narrowly avoided. Withdrawing her sword as she landed, Skadi skewered the nearest guard and kicked him over, leaving him to bleed to death.

Suddenly pain exploded across the back of Skadi's neck. She turned around to see a large man, holding a rifle, butt pointed toward her. She leaned to the left as the butt filled the space where her face had previously been. The man attempted again, but this time Skadi grabbed the butt and snapped it clean off the rifle. The gaurd was stunned. He had never witnessed such strength. Before he could reacto, Skadi took hold of his head and slammed it into the nearby brick wall, crushing his skull.

Skadi whilred around to see the next man aiming his AK47 at her. Moving at speeds too fast to observe, Skadi leapt into the air and placed a heel into the guard's forehead. She landed with a crunch. Her heel wedged inside the man's head. Pulling her heel out, she gave her attention to Maximus as she threw him a knife.

"Get the silver out. It won't heal unless you do."

Maximus heard her directions. Seeing the steel combat knife flying through the air, he snatched it and began to dig for the bullet. The pain was excruciatingly horrible, but he persisted.

Finally, metal scraped metal, as Maximus began to pull it out, instigating a new wave of pain in him. His mind spun as he tried to focus once again, and managed to focus enough to pull the bullet out. It clattered to the floor, covered in his blood. Almost immediately, the blood flow from his shoulder stopped, the vampiristic powers of healing already in effect.

"Ok...I'm good now...Let's get him the hell out of here..." he muttered, still clenching the knife, which he promptly cleaned off and handed back to her. Picking up the guns and the weapons he had lost in the fight, he put them back where they belonged, but continued to hold Glamdring out. He cleaned its razor-sharp blade as he followed Skadi into the torture chamber...

Sorry. probably should have read that thing better  . However, I always had the feeling that the AVO were vampires against vampires. Strange eh?

IC:

"Master, the UV... it does nothing."

Driretlen's worst fear were realized. The AVO were not vampires... they were even worse...

"They're humans. They're all human! Drop your clips and... COUgh... reload with armor-piercing rounds."

As Driretlen and others laid down suppressing fire with their guns, (They did not switch their ammo over), the vampires reloaded. Suddenly, A loud voice rang out over the crowd through a loudspeaker.

"FREEZE. This is the VP. Drop your weapons."

All members on both side of the conflict stopped firing their weapons and looked at each other.

Then, as if thinking as if thinking as one, everyone still left standing in the conflict from both sides raised their guns... and aimed straight at the assembled VP forces.

This time it was Driretlen's voice booming out across the streets.

"FIRE!"

OOC: I was within the AVO base still, and the guards were firing AKs, so I'm currently heading to wherever the last AK was fired on the base (which would be near to where you are). AKs are quite loud, as you can imagine. If he gets the chance, he will shoot for the head. And he is a damn good shot, as you may have seen.

IC:
After a while, John finds a small pile of human bodies. He pulls out his pistol, takes the safety off, and looks inside, an upon seeing the three vampires, he searches for viable cover. He then hides (in the shadows if there is no viable cover, or behind something if he can), making sure that he can't be seen by the three vampires on the other side of the doorway while doing so, and aims at the opening. He breaths very slowly and quietly, and doesn't say anything. He waits patiently for the vampires to return.

Santeria, realizing that of course she was only light armed, refused to take anything more than she was used to. She knew the fight was going to be difficult, how difficult she could not tell. She would not allow herself to take anything that might slow her down. She had to fight the only way she knew how.

"I am sorry. I must decline," she softly spoke as she stared about, anticipating a large battle.

The vans came to a halt, the doors thrust open, she leaped out quickly. Making as little scene as possible, she silently and covertly headed to a place to not be seen. Croutching behind a the porch of a building, she viewed the entire scene.

"This is not going to be easy," she said to herself as she scouted around. Seeing the Head Quarters, she made her resolve that there she was going to hold her stand.

Surreptiously, she sulked around the building, unaware if anybody had noticed her, but hoping....praying, that no one had seen her. Finding the first possible moment, she made her way into the building, again only hoping that no one had noticed her.

Once inside, she peered about breifly. Blood and bodies lay about.

"They have already penetrated head quarters," she spoke quietly. Something sounded from the room, and in a moment of panic she took refuge behind the service desk, not far from her.

Breathing quite rapidly, but not too heavy, she pressed herself against the desk. She reached for her pistols and slowly clutched them.

The sight of the tortured Hondur was unbelievably horrendous. His entrails peeked out of his wounds to the stomach. His face had been beaten with blunt objects, which lay in the corner of the room. Barbed wire was tightly wrapped around his torso, holding him to a vertical platform. His body bore the numeorus lashings of a whip.

The sight made Maximus feel pity for the other vampire, and proceeded to begin undoing the restraints. He hesitated when it came to the barbed wire, but after a moment, he plunged his hands into the vampire's body, slowly drawing the the sharp barbs out of the torso. This caused Hondur to come conscious, and stare at him, somewhat confused and dazed.

"I'm not telling you where Skadi is!!" he whispered, his voice hoarse.

"Relax, I'm here to help you. Skadi's here too. She's the one behind you untying the bonds holding your legs to this contraption."

".......Thank you.....Skadi.....I'm hurt bad, I want to die, this pain is so powerful....." was the reply from the tortured body.

Hondur whimpered in pain as the last of the barbed wire was removed, and his body slumped forward onto Maximus, who held him up.

Maximus looked to Skadi. The had to leave soon, before the fighting ended outside, or they would be trapped inside this hellhole.

The inital wave of gunfire cut down several VP officers just as they exited their vans. The VP were slightly outnumbered, and it would take some creative tactics to win this day. Liao lobbed a flashbang towards the heart of the crowd, where someone had yelled an almost unnecessary "FIRE!", and a frag grenade followed. At the same time, Liao yelled out a warning over his headset to the other VP, to warn them about the incapacitating flashbang.

A circle where the frag grenade had landed had several bodies in various state of dismemberment, human and vampire alike. Even if it was only incapacitating, it would still incapacitate for a while. The stunned humans made for fairly easy takedown, but several of the vampires were shaking off the effects of the flashbang much faster than expected.

Garm and Osiris ducked behind the armoured trucks as they were bombarded with bullets. Seizing an oppurtunity, they both rolled to the right and unleashed a clip of their respected weapons. Garm grinned as he grabbed two grenades. One frag grenade and one silver nitrate grenade. Passing one to Osiris, they both ripped off the pins and launched the small objects into the crowd of AVO and AGVO warriors.

Skadi took the burden of Hondur off Maximus.

"Hondur, drink. You must recover your strength."

Skadi presented her neck toward her battered fledgeling. Gently, Hondur sunk his fangs into Skadi's bare neck, drawing her powerful blood into his veins. After a few minutes, Skadi pulled him away. They still had to escape.

Almost immediately, Hondur began to heal. His wounds closed over and grazes began to disappear. He still wasn't in any condition to fight, but he could walk.

Skadi smiled.

"Let's go."

While waiting for Hondur to drink the life-saving blood of Skadi, he checked his own large wound. The shotgun blast had nearly torn a hole through his flesh, but his own blood had already been using it's healing properties to seal off and heal the wound. It was now only about a third the size of the initial hole, but the pain was still as powerful.

Looking up, he saw Skadi pulling Hondur off her, and smile. Such an odd thing to do, smiling when a inner-city war was raging all around them.

Maximus heard the faint sounds of the sirens blaring from the outside. The VP had finally arrived, and they would undoubtedly be very surprised at the brutality that lay before them.

"Here, Hondur, you'll need this." Maximus told him, handing him one of the Desert Eagles and a dagger.

Maximus walked through the door, but failed to detect the figure hidden in the dark. He reached up and back to draw Glamdring. A shot shattered the silence. Maximus roared in pain. He instinctively pulled his arm down, and fell to the ground, drawing the Desert Eagle with his good arm (OOC: his arm attached to the wounded shoulder). He grimaced in pain, as he called out to Skadi,

"Go, go now! I've got 'em covered!"

Getting up to a crouch, he began to return fire toward the unseen enemy, but he could smell him, the man was sweating in the humid tunnels.

OOC:
Thanks. I needed to do something though....

IC:
Santeria peeped out behind the desk, her gazing piercing the room swiftly. She looked quickly about, nothing.

"It could have just been anything," she thought to herself as she pulled herself up. She continued along the path where the dead bodies led to. She came to realize that they were the sign of whomever penetrated the building. She held her pistols upright, point to the ceiling, as her back pressed along a corridor wall, slowly moved along it. She heard sounds, quiet, but there moving about and echoing along the walls. She was not far from where they issued.

The sound came faster, more rapid, but yet at a distance. Santeria stopped in front of stairs, the sound was there too, coming yet closer. She held her pistols forward, although she knew that whatever lay before might not be harmed by them.

The figure became clear. It appeared to be a woman, aiding another. She held her ground.

Slowly and assertively, "I am sorry I cannot allow you to pass. Please disarm yourself."

She spoke without anger, brutality, or fear. She was not aware whether they would listen to her or not, but it was her job to see to it that anyone suspecious would be taken in for questioning, and by the looks of it.....they were suspecious. Santeria, held her aim steady, and her eyes on alert. She knew she had to be prepared to fight vampires, and thus she remained on full alert.

She took close notice to the man with her. He was injured and seemed to be in pain. Perhaps, the person was only helping him and she felt remorse in her heart for them. However, they all had to explain alot of dead bodies in the building, and for that sole reason, she would not let them pass, if it was the last thing she did.

"Get out of my way. My friend is injured, I must take him to help."

Skadi spoke in an ice cold tone, slightly menacing and deadly serious.

Driretlen stood stock still as vampires and humans alike around him either were mowed down in bullet fire, or blew apart entirely by the grenades.

Around him, Vampires and the humans from the AVO fought tooth and nail with the police, who were now wading into the frenzy with club weapons and bullets. The AVO and AVGO, now finding a common enemy focused all there attention on the VP.

Screams and muzzle fire could be probably be heard for blocks, Driretlen mused.

Suddenly one of the AVO Vampires... the first to request he lead them into battle screamed.

"Eldar, from above!!!"

Driretlen looked above. An RPG launcher was floating ever precariously towards them. Somehow through all the noise, Driretlen heard a pin being pulled.

"Watch out."

The very same vampire who shouted the initial warning leaped overtop of Driretlen and grabbed the launcher, huddling it close to his body.

The next instant, the vampire's body exploded, a fiery death.

Driretlen cried out in anguish. It was an extroordinary sacrifice, and yet he did not know his saviours name.

Driretlen leapt over the fighting troops around him and landed into a thick group of VP. He whipped out his Upir and with one viscious cut, kiled 5 of them at once. The other 2 dropped their blades and ran off.

Driretlen cried out again. He would see that every member of the VP would not leave their battleground alive.

Garm noticed a vampire with a sword, cut down five of his men. Withdrawing his two Desert Eagles, Garm emptied the clips at this vampire, seeking revenge for his men.

Osiris sliced through the head of an attacking vampire. He was already covered in blood, vampire and human alike. A beretta in one hand, a samurai sword in the other, Osiris caused devestation to all that were not part of the VP. The streets were already bathed in blood, and Osiris was intent on adding to it.

For too long the VP had to watch out for the 'civil rights' of vampires and humans. Well, not these groups. They had been officially exempt.

Approached from behind by a vampire, Osiris narrowly evaded a sword thrust to the head. Spinning around and dropping to his knees, he wedged the blade directly into the vampire's gut, then emptied the rest of his clip into the vamp's pale face.

Still seething with the blood rush his kills had given him, Driretlen was suddenly assaulted with a hail of bullets.

"This man is not that good," Thought Driretlen, as he fell to his knees, "He only hit two of my vital organs."

With a low growl and a baring of his bloody fangs, Driretlen leapt to his feet. Having little energy left, Driretlen charged the officer who shot him with his drawn Upir. Blood flowed freely down his tron and ragged trenchcoat as he ran, but he did not notice.

He was too caught up in the frenzy. All that mattered was that he kill the officer who shot him... before it was too late to exact revenge.

If you didn't say it in the first post, how should I know that was there? And your guys was carrying 30+ grenades? Himself? Wow...

IC: Liao was able, through careful aiming and by taking advantage of the cover of the van, to take down several AVO and AGVO members in the immediate aftermath of the large explosion. He was better suited to shoot at range, and all of a sudden, his choice in the M14 made a lot more sense. A bullet had grazed his thigh, but had hit nothing major, and he refocused on another part of the battle apart from the center of the rather odd explosion.

He suddenly saw a old vampire in the remains of a nice suit charge Garm and swiveled to target him. He could not track the fast-moving old man, though. After the initial locking of blades with Garm, Liao squeezed off two shots at the man's cheast.

OOC:
Unless he has a box of grenades next to him, 30 is definitely out of the question. 10 is on the very heavily armed side of reality, and Liao has about 6 total to start with.

As soon as Rumil heard the alarms, he practically leapt out of bed and ran to his equpment locker. Desert Eagle. Check. Wooden stakes. Check. RPG. Check. Uzi. Check. M16. Check. Colt .45 .Check. Silver ammunition. Check, he thought as he hurriedly geared up. Rumil then ran to report to Osiris.

All right, what would you consider reasonable loadout for a guy with slightly superior strength

John barely bites back a curse when a bullet hits just millimeters away from his head. He continues shooting at the vampire who is aiming at him, only this time, he is aiming just as much at the body as at the head. Suddenly, one of the bullets hits him in the arm. "Argh!" he shouts, as he falls backwards. He doesn't get up, but he aims his gun with his good arm (the one he isn't as good at aiming with, but at least it doesn't have a hole in it), waiting for the vampire to either lower his weapon, or to come close enough to guarantee a hit.

OOC: I would assume that the sweat smells just as bad on a corpse as on a live body, and as you say, you can't see that you only got him in the arm...

OOC: Either drop the Uzi or the M16, and you should drop either the Desert Eagle or the Colt .45 (I assume you mean the pistol, not the revolver). A large pistol, a shoulder-fired weapon, and a RPG is more than enough to carry. In fact, my character has left his shotgun in the van.

Osiris slashed his way through the bodies that got in his way. A man stepped in front of him, aiming a colt and deagle at him. Osiris slashed downward as a reaction, slicing through the man's wrists.

Falling to the ground out of pain, the man quickly died as Osiris' sword penetrated his heart. The battle raged on, predicting the outcome was impossible. The only sure thing was that every side had suffered many casualties.

Osiris was still lost within a bloodlust. He had suffered minimal injuries, a few wounds from blades, luckily no gunshot wounds.

Once again, Santeria spoke slowly and assertively.

Skadi did not have patience for this.

"You do not know what you meddle with human."

Skadi raised her hand and sent Santeria flying back into the wall with a telekinetic blow. Withdrawing a pistol she kept to trained upon the woman as she helped Hondur up the stairs.

"I don't want to kill you. Leave us be."

"Maximus, let's go!"

Santeria shocked by the blow, slowly stood up, with their aim still on her. Tenaciously, she moved in front of them, blocking their path. She lifted her pistols again.

"I am sorry, but I cannot let you through."

She fired a shot, not aiming at either one. The sole shot rang out as it connected with the pistol in the woman's hand.

Maximus, let's go! Skadi had yelled at him.

Growling at the still unseen person hidden, he spoke.

"I'm sorry, I'd stay a have a little tete-a-tete with you, but I've got some more important things to do!"

He continued firing his Desert Eagle. He was getting low on ammunition. It was definitely time to go. Maximus got to his feet quickly and ran as fast as he could towards Skadi's voice.

"I'm coming!"

Finally catching up to Skadi, he noticed her eyes fixed upon a woman who was leaning against the wall, Skadi's gun aimed at her.

Jeez, these people just keep coming!

Maximus headed for the door quickly, Glamdring held out, ready to be used if necessary. Skadi was close behind with Hondur.

Skadi sighed. Returning her gaze to Santeria. Moving far too fast for her to react, Skadi pinned Santeria to the wall be her throat. Knocking the gun out of her hand, she glared into the eyes of the one that stopped her.

"Do not try my patience. I have to leave and I will not let you stop me. It is your choice whether you live."

Lifting the woman off her feet, Skadi launched her across the hall, into a nearby table. Hondur made his way up the stairs, still bruised and battered.

Seeing the vampire leave, he follows as silently as possible. After seeing the three, he hides in the shadows again, motioning the human woman to remain silent about his presence, and takes aim, this time at the female vampire, as she seems to be the bigger threat. He pulls the trigger, saying under his breath, "It's a shame to kill a woman, but a bigger shame to let myself get shot in vain..."

Maximus turned as he saw Skadi pin the human female to the wall, Skadi whispering angrily in her face.

Something moved. Maximus saw it out of the corner of his eye. He turned, and saw the gun peeking out of the shadows...aimed at Skadi!!

"NOOOOOOOOO!" Maximus yelled, and immediately used his telekinetic powers to leviate a nearby chair and hurtle it at the unknown gunslinger. The chair smacked into the assailant, knocking the gun aside enough to cause the bullet fired from the gun to smash into the wall a foot from the head of the woman Skadi had been dealing with.

"Skadi! Hondur! Move now! We've got to get out of here!" Maximus called out.
23-01-2004, 22:00
John grunts quite loudly as the chair hits his arm. He disappears back into the shadows, and moves to retrieve an AK from one of the corpses. He runs back to re-engage the vampires from the shadows, only this time firing at full automatic. He ain't dumb enough to try and attack honourably, as he saw what that got the ten men up the tunnel.

In an almost last ditch effort to prevent the group from leaving the room, she painfully and slowly lifted herself onto her knees. Taking a close aim she belted her bottle of water at the woman, whom she heard the name Skadi applied to.

"Skadi, STOP," she yelled as the bottle hurtling through the air stroke Skadi in the back of the head before she left. Seemingly, unimportant of an attack, it gave her enough time to painfully get to feet, stammer some, and withdraw her long sword. The sword seemed plain and out of the ordinary, give a red line that ran the entire length down.

"STOP," she yelled again, swaying a bit before fully regaining herself. Her head throbbed, and her neck ached, but she knew that she could not give up.

Moreover, she took notice to someone else's voice there. Whomever it was, she only hoped they could help.

Arakesh ignored the passcode to the armory, his blade was all that he would need. The sounds of battle reached his ear-fins, and he took off in that direction. He moved with the stealth of a true hunter, his large reptillian feet making little more than a slight scratch as he moved across the concrete. He reached a perch overlooking the battle below, and knelt on a knee to watch. The vampires where the usual stuff, performing feats of strength and acrobatics. The humans, however, where not faring as well. Less physically endowed that the vampires, they lacked the speed, strength and agility of their tainted brethren.

Arakesh wasn't human, he had no such limitations. Physically, he was the equal of his prey. From his earliest memories he had trained to hunt and kill, be it with his blade or his own body. He tugged on his leather guantlets, and his claws came through the rubbery material. Arakesh would need them for reaching the conflict, as well as in battle. The Argonian hunter's tail twitched in anticipation, eager to prove his worth to his human allies. He would take many trophies this day, of that he was sure...

OOC: For easier reference...

The Colt M1911A1 is the semi-automatic handgun that Colt is so famous for. Since then, there have been many 'Colt .45's' produced. Revolver-wise, Colt is famous for the 'Python', a .357 magnum revolver. If one goes further back in history, they will find the Colt 'Peacemaker', a .45 caliber revolver, and the Colt-Walker revolver, which is chambered for a .44 magnum. There was also a .41 caliber Colt 'Thunderer', which was a small weapon, with a six-shot cylinder. Hopefully this will prevent any future confusion and allow the RP to flow much more smoothly.

Leaping into the air as the gunfire erupted around her, Skadi withdrew two daggers. She was in no mood to be held up for such trivial reasons. As she spun in the air she launched one dagger at the man with the AK47, the other aimed at Santeria.

Skadi was in a bad mood. Very bad. It caused Maximus to never want to cross Skadi, for the look in her eyes were murderous. She was a killing machine, without regard for few others' lives. Respect was commanded from all, and those that refused, suffered. Painfully.

The three left the building, running at breakneck speed away from the area, now a war zone. Soon they were safely away from the area, in which they began to slow down.

Pain raged through Maixmus as his wounds stung from the cool night air. Hondur however, was doing a bit worse. He had after all barely survived a brutal and inhumane torture.

Maximus then thought of Drirethlen, the elder in the midst of the fighting.

"The other elder! We must tell him that we are out!"

Maximus immediately closed his eyes, focused his telepathic energies in the direction from where they had come, past the AVO HQ, and into the street of blood. He searched for the elder, finally finding him and began to speak to him.

"Elder, we thank you for your help, you may leave now if you must. We are safe."

Maximus recieved no reply, but he knew the elder had gotten his message. He turned toward Skadi, waiting for her command.

The wounds continued to rage as the healing properties of his blood continued to mend the flesh together. Maximus's arm still had the bullet lodged in it, and he pulled out one of the Elven Daggers, and began to pick and pull the bullet slowly out.

Santeria lifted her sword, in attempt to deflect the dagger. The dagger blazed through the air, her sword slowly lifted to meet the contact of the dagger.

The sword missed the dagger, due to its blinding speed. She had no time to brace herself of dodge it. The dagger dug into her chest; into her rib cage; stopping at the heart. She let out a scream of pain, winced terribly, and felt against the wall. She looked down at the dagger, dropped her sword, and slid down the wall. Blood oozed from the fresh wound.

She sat pressed against the wall, breathing heavily, and looking down at the small blade buried in her.

"I failed. I failed. I let them go. Why? Why did I let them go? I failed," she silently whispered to herself, her gaze transfixed on the ever growing blood stain through the shirt. She winced as she breathed, each breath was another wince of pain.

"I failed," she whispered again while still continuning to look down.

"Elder, we thank you for your help, you may leave now if you must. We are safe."

Driretlen heard the message loud and clear. In a way... he was glad he was able to help... if only someone was there to help him now.

The eldar was bleeding from multiple wounds. Too many blades and bullets had made there way into his body... he was dying, and in this too, he was glad. Perhaps now he would find final release.

Still, he fought on. He battled like the demon he was, wielding his Upir with furocity. However, the VP officer who had shot him initially was no slouch eith with his own blade, matching him move for move.

Finally, his body had had enough. He dropped to one knee, and let the Upir fall from his hands.

"Psst, some Vampire. I didn't think it'd be this easy."

Driretlen felt the VP's sword rise above his head... he waited.

"Suddenly a bullet knocked the sword out of the officers hand. With tearing eyes, Driretlen turned to where the shots were fired, and saw two Mark II helicopters and what must have been a dozen limosines pull up to the edge of the battlefield. From within came pouring out scores of vampires. Hyraphore Vampires. Driretlen's vampires.[/i]

Shouts of anger and curses were unleashed at the same time as rounds after rounds of armor piercing bullets, courtesy of the Hyraphore. Many jumped into the crowded streets, prefering to mete out their punishment hand-to hand.

Driretlen put a hand to his chest. He was surprised. He had not coughed throughout the melee. He felt a presence at his side.

"Garrien? How..."

"Do you really think I'd let you go without being able to watch you?" Garrien (Driretlen's original limo driver) pulled out a simple looking monitering device from Driretelns coat-lining. "Now we have to go. We'll have you patched up in no time."

"But... this... this is my fight."

"Not anymore. Don't worry. That's all taken care of."

Driretlen blacked out, but not before seeing out of the corner of his eye a very familiar vampire rush by. WIthin moments, the leader was loaded into a helicopter and flown back to the guild.

Still, there would be someone staying behind to finish the job. A young vampire in an all-black suit walked casually over the bodies of falle vampires and humans. He seemed to ignore the sounds of violence around him, saving his attention for the VP officer.

"Officer Garm... my name is Alexander Kelsing of the Hyraphore guild. I'm sorry that I have to do this, but it nothing personal. This is just the way I am."

With a single leap, Alexander leapt and chopped off the officers head at the neck, sending a spurt of blood into the air.

Alexander smiled.

Her sword remained in her hand, and her hand lay aside of her spread some from her body. She was glad she took no extra armor with her. If she had, she would have definately been slowed down and would not have delayed them at all.

It was then, on the ground, looking upward, staring at the sky, bleeding from the wound of her own stupidity, did she realize what she had gotten herself into. If only she knew before, if only she realized before her fight......

A grimace filled her face.

"I failed," she softly spoke.

Skadi finally stopped moving, Hondur and Maximus at her side. Both were quite battered and sore. She smiled as she looked around.

And with that, he rested his head against the wall, staring up at the night sky. He remembered an old Elven tale told to him at childhood as a mortal:

Maximus was surprised to hear of Hondur's past. This was interesting, one who hated vampires now was one and had accepted it. He also noted Hondur's rather young age. Hondur, despite having been a vampire for 25 years still was poorly self-controlled. Maximus had sensed this when Hondur had left, his mind bent on revenge.

A rat skittered past the two, and they watched it do it's nightly scavenging activities. It raised it's head at Maximus, sniffed the air at his wounds, and became excited. Maximus was in no mood to deal with this vermin, so he bared his fangs and swung his foot to kick the rat away. It jumped safely out of the way, but it had gotten his message. It scurried away, in search of its own meal.

Maximus laid his head this time on Skadi shoulder, his eyes closing. His body yearned for rest, it needed it. Just a quick nap, a "power-nap" as the mortals called it these days...

Maximus was floating...no...he was lying on the beach, the waves lapping the shore quietly. The sun was warm on his face as he lay there.

Peaceful solitude spread through his body. He was calm. He didn't have anything in his mind. His mind was a blank vortex, taking in the warm sunshine and the smell of the oceans of Tarlachia.

It was a time when mortals greatly outnumbered the vampire population, thus keeping them under control.

Suddenly, the peaceful beach scene was shattered, as Maximus was engaged in a brutal viewing of men and women being sired by faceless vampires. The vampires were transforming the Tarlachian population, greatly increasing the vampire count by the droves. How Maximus knew this he didn't know, but he knew that it was going to happen in the future.

Maximus awoke with a start, breathing slightly heavily. He had just experienced a vision, one that promised great changes for Tarlachia, his original homeland.

He looked up at Skadi, who was lost in her own thoughts, but had been snapped back to attention by his abrupt behavior.

Helicopters and armored vehicles are definitely not meant to be taken on with rifles and pistols. There was a extremely small chance that the canopy of the helicopters weren't bulletproof, but it wasn't worth risking lives over. That RPG used up by Rumil would have come in very handy right about now. The simple fact was that they were seriously outgunned, and nothing short of armored vehicles, anti-aircraft missiles, and machine guns would do much good against so many fresh foes.

Liao's years of military experience told him one thing - sometimes you had to fight on. Sometimes you had to make a dignified retreat. Sometimes, though, - and it looked like such a time was here - you just had to cut your losses and run until you could come back with the proverbial bigger stick. Everything had gone downhill once Garm was killed. If only he had known that the city would turn into a warzone, he would have personally dragged several boxes of much heavier arms. There had to be some way to end conflict...

He checked his watch. It was currently 4:45 in the morning. The sun would rise in about an hour's time, forcing an end to the showdown. He only had two magazines left for his rifle, and a bandolier for his shotgun. He had taken two shots to the chest, living solely because of his heavy armor. Even then, he had definitely broken several ribs, and shrapnel had cut his body. The weapon he had left in his unopened rifle case right now would have been much better he was equipped with right now, but even that was only a stopgap.

Going on a hunch, he radioed Osiris:

: Is there a nuclear power plant, national laboratory, space center, or other high-risk or high-value Assingtonial government facility within a few miles of here? Their security forces might have some heavier weapons we could use. :

"I amar prestar aen, han mathon ne nen, han mathon ne chae, a han noston ned 'wilith."

Maximus was astounded. He had recognized the words as those that had belonged to the Elves of long ago. However, it hadn't been his voice that spoke the words, it had been an ethereal voice of the past, channeling its way through him.

Glamdring rattled in its scabbard immediately upon the words being spoken. It was as if it had become alive, awakened from a deep slumber by the language. Maximus pulled Glamdring out and stared at it, perplexed at this phenomenon. Glamdring shone with a brilliant blue hue, almost seeming like blue fire. He understood nothing.

What did he have to do with the Elves? Was here merely more than a indirect inheritor of the swords? Or did the blood of the Elves run in his veins as well?

Glamdring finally stopped its actions, and Maximus replaced it slowly back into the scabbard.

Maximus was troubled deeply. His confused eyes found Skadi's face, whose was also deeply troubled by the events.

"I don't know how I just said that, but I do know its meaning: The world is changed, I feel it in the water, I feel it in the earth, I smell it in the air.. My homeland, Tarlachia, will soon undergo a massive change in the population. Humans will be transformed into vampires by the dozens. Vampires will come to rule the nation in the long run, as they gain positions throughout the entire government."

He breathed deeply. This was important. He was important, but he didn't know how or why. Only time would tell...

Hondur rounded the corner of the alley, appearing in much better shape than before. Wounds still scarred his body, but he was definitely stronger than before.

Hondur merely took a dagger from Skadi's hand and left the alley, heading back toward the AVO building. The fighting still raged on, but he didn't notice. Hondur only had eyes for the AVO Boss.

Skadi watched as Hondur entered and exitted their presence.

"We cannot help him, he must do this himself. This is strange news indeed. Will the allies of your homeland tolerate a vampire uprising? And what do elves have to do with it?"

Maximus spoke toward Skadi,

"Our allies, I fear, will not have any capabilities to stop the uprising. I fear it will be too swift before any official actions can be taken. I do not know the reasons behind the Elves taking part in this vision. I suspect that I might be a descendent far down the ancestry line though. How? I do not know. Trust me, I will be looking into this as time goes on"

John just barely moves his chest out of the way of the dagger. His whole body, however, is another matter. The flying dagger enters his bicep, rendering him almost completely helpless. Recognising this, he dives back into the shadows, and waits for the three vampires to leave the tunnel. After they are gone, he heads to the nearest communications room, dragging the human female with the arm that he can still move. When he reaches the communications room, he activates the radio.

"To anyone who can hear me; the battle is a distraction. Two vampires have entered the base. They released the prisoner. One of the two is an elder. All the guards are dead. I've done everything I can, so just follow the trail of vampiric blood. The prisoner was in pretty bad shape when they found him, so I'd look out for him if I were you, in case he's had time to feed. He might be a little bit pissed."

After this, the loss of blood becomes too much. He collapses, and falls unconscious.

_____________

Bursting through the fron door, Hondur looked around. Corpses everywhere. Skadi and Maximus had definately worked to rescue him. Stepping over the bodies he made his way through the maze of corridors. Finally he comes to a large pair of oak doors.

Kicking the doors open, Hondur leaps to the side as his vampiric reflexes save him from being shredded by an AK47. Once the clip is spent, Hondur walks into the room and faces the AVO Boss.

Commander Jake Sanford looked up as the doors to his office were burst open. The prisoner, Hondur, was seen through the doorway. Jumping behind the chair he grabbed his AK-47, and began to strafe the entrance to the office.

How Hondur had gotten out of the torture room and his constraints surprised Sanford. But something was wrong. Hondur appeared to be mostly healthy again. This was bad, and now Sanford had emptied his first clip.

Ducking behind the desk, he grabbed another clip from his jacket, as he released the first, and jammed the second into the gun.

Sanford got up, turned quickly around, and was surprised to see the vampire closing in fast on him.

"Oh crap!" he muttered, as time seemed to slow, his arm not moving the gun fast enough to train upon the incoming vampire. His eyes narrowed at Hondur. His patience had run out. He would kill the vampire, even if it took all he had.

"You filthy bloodsucking vermin!" he yelled, his arm still seemingly too slow bringing the gun up.

Hondur drew close enough to send his leg flying into the AK. It smashed into several pieces as his foot smacked the side of it.

Hondur glared at Sanford.

"You shall pay for the acts of torture towards me human!"

Hondur had never refered to a human as 'human' before. He had always considered himself to still be part human, one of them. His rage continued to grow, almost out of his control.

Hondur hit the man in the face, only with enough force to knock him over.

"You shall die at my hand."

Pain erupted through Sanford as the vampire palmed his face hard, hard enough to send him flying back a few feet off his feet.

Sanford looked up at the pissed vampire. Fear began to creep into his mind as the vampire loomed closer. He was beginning to regret torturing the vampire, and was beginning to think he would not make it out of this conflict alive.

The AK-47 lay on the ground, completely useless. There was only one other option. His combat knife, which lay in its scabbard on his hip. Drawing his hand slowly to the knife, he placed his hand on the handle, and waited for Hondur.

Fear gripped his mind as Hondur grabbed him, and pinned him onto the wall by the throat. Hondur's hand pressed heavily on Sanford's windpipe, restricting a majority of the air flow. Sanford had to do it....now.

"Damn you!" he croaked, as he pulled up the combat knife and plunged its sharp silver blade into Hondur neck. He clenched his teeth as he continued to struggle against the deadly grip on his neck.

Hondur screamed as the silver seared his flesh. Blood began to ooze out of his neck, spewing all over him.

Hondur knew he would pass out soon, so he took action. He continued to tighten his grip upon Sanford, crushing his windpipe. Finally he head the satisfying snap of Sanford's death. Windpie crushed, Sanford lay on the ground, slowly dying.

Hondur stumbled out of the building. Losing strength rapidly. His vision was beginning to blur as he made his way back to the alley. The knife still in his neck, blood continued to pour out, all over him and the road.

Finally, he reached the alley.

Osiris keyed his radio to another frequency.

"This is Captain Osiris of the VP. We are severely outnumbered and outgunned. Requesting BCS intervention. We need some heavy bloody weaponry doon here! Bring some silver ammo if you can, but also explosives."

Sanford lay on the ground, slumped against the wall, his eyes staring blankly at the picture on his desk. It was a picture of his wife and his young son.

Tears shed down his cheeks as he realized the inevitable truth.

"I have failed you my son....my wife....I promised you that I'd bring the city back to normal...but...I have failed. Dear God, protect them....please..."

That was the last thought he had before he rattled his last shallow breath.

The darkness and cold fingers of death slowly came over Sanford, until he lay dead, his dead eyes still staring into the faces of his family.

Maximus quickly got up and rushed to Hondur's side, and pulled the knife out of the neck of the stumbling vampire. He pressed his fingers into the wound, until Skadi took over, using her blood to cover the wound, healing it quickly.

After all the wounds on any of them stopped bleeding, the three left the alley, ending the apparent blood trail there.

"We've got to go now, daylight comes." Skadi said, picking up Hondur and flying to the rooftop of one of the buildings, Maximus close behind with his leaps. They continued to make their way to Skadi's apartment.

Soon, the three arrived at Skadi's apartment, where Hondur was laid down on the couch, where he promptly fell asleep.

Maximus stood by as Skadi completed her care for the injured fledgling.

She moved over to her large bed and sat down.

"Thankyou for all that you did. Thanks to your help, Hondur is alive. And the AVO, I assume is almost no more."

Peace had returned to Skadi. Her dark eyes stared at Maximus, her gratitude obvious.

Then she did something unexpected. Moving in, closer to Maximus. She placed a passionate kiss upon his lips.

Continuing the passionate exchange, the two began to slowly undress each other, their bare flesh slowly being exposed.

Maximus let his mind slip into oblivion, her beauty of mind and body in his thoughts.

A half hour later, the two lay under the covers, as they drifted off to sleep.
Maximus had a thought that Skadi had given him the Kiss, primarily for his companionship. He didn't care, he had quickly come to love her too.

His eyes looked over at her sleeping face, before he himself fell asleep.

Santeria awoke. It was dark out and she had no idea of how long she had been unconscious. She was in immense pain and could barely force herself up.

She walked about, like a living corpse, white as snow, as she wandered down the street, blood dripping from her, the hand that was previously holding the dagger, dripping with blood, while the othe hand drug the sword along road, creating a screech as the metal connected with the asphalt.

She nearly, collapsed as she made her way aimlessly down streets. Amid, the peril of dead bodies and such, she found her way to outside of church.

Slowly opening the doors she fell (in a manner of speaking) inside, her bloodily and deathlike figure looking ominious and awkward.

Osiris watched as Garm's head fell to the ground. His colleague and long time friend, dead, just like that. A firery rage built up within him. Executed by some arrogant vampire. The bloodlust within Osiris rose once again and he unleashed a blood curdling scream as he loaded his FN-P90 and unleashed the clip at Alexander. Once the clip was spent, Osiris withdrew two silver nitrate/frag grenades (the shrapnel being silver) and hurtled them toward Alexander.

Even though he was enflamed with rage, Osiris was smart enough to realise he wouldn't be able to beat that one in close combat.
_____________

The battle continued, it began to die down, only because numbers were dwindling. And then more vampires arrived. Several VP officers almost shat themselves. The AVO forces had suffered the most. Being human and not as well equipped as the VP. Now it was a battle between the VP and the AGVO and other vampires.

Several officers radioed in for backup.

We need backup now!

There are no more VP officers.

Then get the ordianary bloody police and give them some silver ammo!

It wouldn't be long before reinforcements arrived.

Osiris nodded, making his way over to Liao.

"No not really. But it's time to even things out a little."

Osiris keyed his radio to another frequency.

"This is Captain Osiris of the VP. We are severely outnumbered and outgunned. Requesting BCS intervention. We need some heavy bloody weaponry doon here! Bring some silver ammo if you can, but also explosives."

The line was silent for a second.

"Captain Osiris. This is General Marduk of the BCS corps. You will have two squads of BCS units deployed to you location within the next fiftenn minutes. Just hold out."

"Thanks."

Osiris smiled as the police reinforcements arrive.

"Come on, let's get some ammo. I'm completely out."

Alexander's body whipped itself around, courtesy of the force of Osiris's bullets. He bared his fangs, and turned to face his new tormentor, ignoring the pain of his silver-bullet wounds.

Two frag grenades arched towards the vampire. With a growl, Alexander swatted them aside with his Upir.

"My vengeance tonight has already been fulfilled officer. I will trust you not to tempt me again..." With a retraction of his fangs, Alexander ran off, back towards the Hyraphore limo barricade.

Jumping up on one of them, Alexander yelled encouragement to his clan. "Tonight belongs to the Hyraphore. Run while you can, humans, before we..."

Suddenly Alexander noticed movement down the block, coming from the other direction. A lot of movement.

It was the VP's reinforcement. The BCS!

OOC: Who are the BCS?

IC:

Within secoonds, the BCS armored vehicles pulled up and lined up and down the width of the street, just half a block from the vampires. Without warning, two BCS officers launched RPG's towards one of the Hyraphore's helicopter's. It exploded in midair, sending flaming debris down upon the streets.

"FREEZE, VAMPIRES. PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND SURRENDER, OR YOU WILL GET HURT!"

In the momentary lull, the vampires out in the street forfeited their battles and ran back to the cover of the armored limosines.

The AVO, sensing danger from both sides, took the opportunity to leave with their collected wounded. They ran off down the sideblock, never looking back.

Alexander reached down beside him, and took a weapon from one of the vampires beside him. A SMAW, a Portable anti-armor rocket launcher. With a dark laugh, Alexander launched a rocket at the vehicle carrying the officers who shot down his Helicopter. It too exploded in so much flame and fading glory.

"My dear humans. cried Alexander, don't ever threaten a vampire. We're already dead!"

From there, hell broke loose. All of it. It was truly a sight o behold and hear, the massive firefight between the VP/BCS and the Hyraphore/AGVO vampires was.

Alexander jumped down as the gun battle started and immediately looked for higher ground. Somewhere where he could put his rockets to good use. That was when he spotted it. A church down the street. Perhaps the tower...

*****

Alexander rushed up the stairs to the church, and was about to jump-kick his way through the doors when he noticed that they were already slightly ajar. They were blocked by... feet.

Using his Upir to pry open the door, Alexander saw her, a woman in a torn uniform and body armor. She was bleeding profusely, and was soaked by some sort of liquid.

OOC: Holy water doesn't hurt my vampires, everyone. Should it in this thread?

The sight famished Alexander. Perhaps it was time for a snack. However, he heard her voice cryout in a small whisper: "Please..........help............me,"

Alexander scowled, and then dropped the SMAW. If he was anything, he was a gentlemanly vampire with some morals. (Albeit few.) He knealt down in the trickling pool of blood and water, and leaned close to the woman's ear.

"I will help you, but I am afraid that you may not appreciate my assistance when this is all said and done."

With that, Alexander leaned his mouth down to the woman's neck, and bared his fangs...

She faintly heard a voice speak to her, but she mustered enought strength to look into the face of whom spoke it. Seeing fangs, her senses revived and she felt horror creep into her body.

With what was left of her strength, she grasped her sword, lying aside of her and thrust it toward the vampire's head.

Slowly and deliberately, "I....do....not....want....that.....help."

She looked at him, trying not too seem to rude. He was being more or less a gentlemen about this, when he could have easily made supper of her.

Maximus woke up completely at peace. Looking around, he noticed Skadi still asleep. Hondur was also asleep still, his body now healed almost completely from the wounds of the bloody night.

He got up silently, grabbed some clothes from his closet and made his way to the shower. Closing the door behind him, he undressed and stepped into the shower. He remained in there a long time, almost an entire half hour, before he heard the movements of someone in the apartment. Turning off the water, he dried and pulled on a pair of white curduroy pants, and brushed his teeth, carefully cleaning every part of them, including the fangs. He hated bad breath and yellowed teeth, had hated it for years, and he wasn't about to start neglecting them now. Spitting into the sink, he watched the dried blood from the feeding last night swirl in circles down to the drain.

Maximus returned his toothbrush to its place, then stood as he stared blankly into his reflection.

So many had died tonight.

Many of his bretheren had given their lives in honor as they unknowingly fought to allow Skadi and Maximus to rescue Hondur.

...But they gave their lives for their reasons, not for Hondur.

So much has happened. War had been waged, few probably had lived. There had to have been nearly 300 fighters fighting initally, between the vampires, the AVO, and the VP.

The elder who helped them...how was he? Was he alive? Or did he die gloriously?

How many of the enemies were left? And more importantly, how many of their unspoken allies remained?

Maximus sighed out loud as he rubbed his face with his hands, the images of the hellish warzone still fresh in his mind.

A pair of arms slipped around his waist, startling Maximus. Skadi had walked in without him noticing. He did not react beyond that, but continued to stare into the mirror, Skadi's eyes watching his face as he stood thinking.

OOC: The BCS are Assington's bio-mechanical soldiers. They're soldiers augmented with machines to enhance their abilities to maximum. They are Assington's elite military force. Ruthless and heavily armed. They will make quick work of the battle.

IC: Osiris grinned as several armoured vehicles pulled up. The BCS units pouring out the back, all heavily armed. Things would not be looking good for anyone on the recieving end of their weapons. One vehicle was already hit by a rocket, but that did not phase the men at all.

Osiris reloaded all his weapons as he watched the vampire that killed Garm run off. He knew he couldn't beat this guy. But his men would suffer severely for the death of Garm.

All VP officers retreated back to the BCS line, attacking from a distance. Then the five BCS soldiers bearing chain guns appeared from behind the trucks. Loaded with silver ammunition, these bullets were large and powerful enough to rip a man apart.

Stone hard faces looked upon the approaching vampires. The five men hit the triggers and brought their massive weapons into full fire. All that could be heard was the whizzing of the chain guns and the screaming of dying vampires, and the occassional AVO member. Bullets raining down on the vamps, they had no chance. Blood and other various bodily pieces littered the street as they were cut down by the feroscious BCS fire.

Once the chain gun fire had ceased, another ten BCS units stepped forward, all bearing RPGs. On the command they unleashed a wave of grenades, landing at the feet of the few remaining enemies. Fire engulfed the entire area in front of the armoured limos, incinerating the vampires and humans alike that didn't take cover.

After that initial attack by the BCS, the only surviving vampires were the ones hiding behind the armoured limos. The BCS men stood ready. Chain guns and RPGs at the ready. Several snipers deployed themselves into surrounding buildings, waiting for the vampiric reaction.

OOC: No, holy water does not bother vampires at all in this. There is no christian crap to do with these vamps.

Alexander looked down upon the again unconcious woman. He scowled at his misfortune.

"If only you had not woken up, my dear. Now I must choose whether or not to turn or to aid you..."

Alexander hesitated for only a moment before he retracted his fangs and pulled his head back. Strapping his SMAW back onto his shoulder, Alexander picked up the woman. He noticed that she was very light.

At that moment, Alexander heard the sounds of chain guns, followed by explosions and intermingled with the screams of vampires. Hyraphore vampires. His vampires...

With the lady tucked firmly in his arms, Alexander dashed out of the church and back to the battlescene

********

What met him when he finally returned was almost too much for Alexander to bear. The bodies... the so many bodies of vampires. In various states of disrepair, bodiless heads to bodies burned beyond recognition.

The limos amazingly were untouched. Not a scratch on them, nor the vampires who had the foresight to take cover behind them. Those with foresight were far fewer than he had hoped for.

Alexander unhooked the SMAW from his shoulder letting it drop to the ground. Still carrying the woman in his arms, Alexander leapt up onto onto a hood of a limo, silently daring the VP forces to shoot him.

None did.

"Congratulations, humans. I must admit, I did not expect the level of response to be so... imposing."

"There has been too much bloodshed tonight, humans. We will not surrender, but we will leave. However, I must you with a parting gift."

Alexander hopped off of the limo and walked slowly towards the VP officers. He noticed one of the BCS's arms twitch, but ignored it. He knew humans better than that. They would hit one of their own.

Alexander walked towards the officer who had shot him previously (Osiris).

"I believe she is suffering from a self-inflicted knife wound. Please see that she is taken care of. She does not approve of my... methods."

After handing the woman over, Alexander walked back to and jumped on top of the hood again. He turned around and shouted one last message.

"Know this humans. The Hyraphore has marked this city. We know that there are vampires here, those who live under your fist of oppression. We will be back for them someday. Someday..."

With that, the remaining vampires and Alexander gathered the wounded and loaded up into the limos. In a much more orderly fashion than their arrival, the filed away from the battle scene.

Inside one of the limos, ALexander pulled out a cellphone. He lowered the window to let in the cool night breeze.

"Garrien? Yeah, its me. We're coming home... How's Driretlen?"

"Stabilized, great. I'm glad to hear."

"... no, we didn't win the battle in the streets. Do not worry. All in good time."

Alexander closed the cellphone. He looked out of the tinted window, and then rolled it back up. It had gotten cold all of a sudden...

Osiris simply watched as the remaining vampires left. He took the injured woman and recognised her as a VP officer. Placing her in the back of the medical truck, he left her under the care of the military medics.

Returning to the now silent battle ground, Osiris simply stared into nothing. So many had been lost. Garms was gone, so were many more fine officers. The AVO was as good as dead, very few remained at all. Most of the AGVO that survived had left with the other vampires. All that was left were the remaining VPs and the BCS units. And of course the corpses, littered all over the streets.

"Gather all the bodies together and burn them. Hook up the fire hydrants as well, we need to clean this place up."

He looked over to a team of BCS men.

"You lot scout the area and see what you can find. We know these vampires came a long way, but the AVO base must be nearby. Find it and clean it out."

Osiris sat down, recovering from all that had happened. Activating his radio, he informed the VP HQ of the situation.

Maximus turned and faced Skadi, her dark calm eyes staring intensely into his. Her jet-black hair flowed down over her shoulders, merely enhancing her beauty that much more.

Pulling her into an embrace he whispered in her ear,

"Yes, many have suffered tonight. Yet one thing worries me. I know you probably do not care, but being that I am only an extremely young fledgeling, I still retain some of my human emotions. I worry about the other elder. After all, he still gave us his assistance, even when we had rejected him initially. I think we should go check on him tomorrow night. OOC:  thanks. does anyone mind me introducing a new character (this is too good an RP to just watch/read)?

IC:
There was one vampire, at least, who was not involved in the battle. He watched, somewhat interested, in the same way you might watch a boxing match, but he wasn't too bothered who won. He wasn't interested in joining a coven, as he had been a vampire for about a hundred years, and knew enough about his trade to avoid getting caught. He agreed with the AGVO, that vampires ought to remain in the shadows, but he didn't agree that fighting the government was the way forward. Just an old-fashioned vampire, he continued feeding the way he always had, feeding from bums and drunks who wouldn't be missed, disposing of the bodies in places where they would be unlikely to be found. George, the vampire, continued to hunt.

Maximus watched as Hondur awoke, his hands holding his stomach, obviously still sore from the wounds to the area.

Maximus began to speak:

"Hello Hondur, it is good to see you alive. My name is Maximus, by the way."

Maximus walked over to Hondur, who eyed him suspiciously. Maximus retained a calm peaceful look on his face, in an attempt to keep Hondur from becoming too uncomfortable with his presence.

Maximus observed Hondur. He wasn't quite sure who this person was or why he was here. He seemed to be close to Skadi though. He didn't like that. He knew Skadi had differing opinions, but she was his sire. Hondur kept his eyes trained on the unfamiliar vampire.

"Why are you here?"
Tarlachia
26-01-2004, 15:47
Maximus looked at Hondur.

"I am your brethren, Hondur. Skadi gifted me with the Kiss a few nights ago, and together we caused a bit of a ruckus with the AVO, VP, AGVO, and others while rescuing you."

Hondur looked over to Skadi for confirmation of this. She nodded and said,

"It is true, Hondur."

Hondur was confused. He was not quite sure why Skadi would make another fledgeling. He didn't like the idea of sharing Skadi with another vampire. But he was grateful for the rescue.

"Thankyou for the aid. I was in dire need."

Skadi nodded.

"You can always expect help from me. We must make a stop at another's den. He helped in the plans of your rescue."

Maximus nodded his compliance, glanced at Hondur again, and set about gathering his weapons once again, setting them onto the kitchen table. He pulled them out, one by one, and began to methodically clean them, preparing them for the next night.

He spoke to no one in particular,

"There is nothing we can do now. We must wait till sundown. For now, we should continue to rest, and allow our wounds to heal."

Maximus touched his bare shoulder, his fingers running over the area of the shotgun wound. It had mostly healed by now, but some of the pain remained. It would be gone once he rested again. The bullet wound to his arm, which had saved his life, was completely healed now, the bullet left in the alley where Skadi and he had stopped while Hondur left to exact his revenge on one unfortunate soul.

Hondur had gone back to the couch, and was working his way into a sleep. Skadi walked quietly over to Maximus, draped her arms over his shoulders as he finished cleaning the weapons, and kissed him on the cheek. Once he was done, she spoke,

"Come to sleep Maximus."

Maximus nodded, and followed her back to the bed. Unknown to them, Hondur had noticed the passion, but had remained silent.

OOC: Would you mind terribly if I switched Arakesh for another hunter, one who is older and has a bit more expeirence. I haven't had much time to build Arakesh's backstory, and therefore he is somewhat ill-suited to hunting in this thread.

OOC: I think you could do that, just briefly introduce him though. Keep Arakesh around if you want, I'm gonna start a new thread soon, which is basically gonna be another chapter in the world of vampires, hunters, etc. In that thread you can fully flesh out the background on Arakesh. Good writing so far though!

According to Assington, this thread should not last too much longer, so in fact, you may as well keep Arakesh till the end.

George wasn't asleep, dispite this being the daytime. He was, instead, entertaining himself with plans for leaving the country. He had been there most of his life (and afterlife, for that matter), but because of recent events, he decided it might be an idea to leave the country soon. Very soon in fact. Not right then, of course, because it was daylight, and the daylight would kill him. That night, however, would be the perfect time. The local airlines should allow him on, and there were other nations who have never heard of him or his kind. Plenty of other nations. And he could disappear quite easily. So he packed what few possessions he still had, and went to sleep, waiting until dusk.

Osiris watched as the many corpses were burnt to a large pile of ash. Garm's body lay untouched, lying alone in the middle of the road. Finally Osiris moved over to the body and collected Garm's gear. He didn't know how he was going to tell Garm's son and wife. The news would devestate them.

The body was hauled into a truck and the mess over the streets was completely clean. Physically, the only thing remaining was bullet holes and explosion craters. They would be repaired by government workers.

With the remaining vampires and AVO members captured, the Assington forces packed up and began to head out. Osiris thanked the BCS Commander and directed a few officers to search through and gaurd the AVO HQ.

Finally returning to the VP HQ, Osiris almost dropped dead from exhaustion, but he knew he still had heaps of work awaiting him.

Once the sun had sunk, Skadi was awake. She was used to arising just as the sun had departed view of this part of the planet.

Maximus woke to find Skadi dressed and sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed and ready to go. He sat up and glanced over at Hondur, still asleep on the couch.

"Feel better?" he asked Skadi, at the same time that he noticed that his wounds had completely healed. His energy was back as well. Being a vampire wasn't that bad of a deal in this respect.

Maximus walked over to his closet and pulled out a pair of black pants, black shirt, and put them on, Skadi watching him.

He turned and went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and then realized that he wasn't human anymore. It would take a little getting used to this.

He walked back into the other room, just as Hondur was awaking.

Hondur stood up, already in his clothes.

"So, what are we doing now?"

He wasn't quite sure what was going on between Skadi and Maximus, but he intended to find out.

Skadi nodded.

"We shall go feed then search for that elder that helped rescue you."

The three left the apartment, after Hondur had finished getting ready. Maximus finished equipping himself with his weaponry, and Hondur took some of Skadi's extra arsenal, a gun, a sword of his own, and a combat knife.

The three hunted for their nightly meal, until they came upon some drunks who had just come out of a bar, all in an argument with one another.

Maximus smiled, these men did not know the real danger they were about to find them in. They waited till the three neared the alley that the vampires were hidden in.

Maximus led the attack, grabbing one of the men, a decently built man, who struggled to pummel Maximus with his fists, but the fists weren't doing much to avert Maximus. Maximus quickly dragged the man into the dark alley, as Skadi and Hondur went for their meals.

They had moved so fast that the three surprised drunks hadn't understood right away what had happened. By the time they realized it, they were already in the deadly clenches of the three vampires, and losing their lives at an alarming rate.

He bit the man's neck, withdrawing the sweet essence, until the man stopped struggling finally, and fell limp to the ground, dead. Pulling out one of his daggers, Maximus slit his wrist, and covered the drunk's wound, which disappeared in a few seconds.

"Ahh...that tasted good!" he remarked, the warm blood flowing through his body. The other two vampires said nothing in response.

The three wandered the city, using their telepathic abilities to attempt to find the elder. After an hour and a half, they had searched the entire city, having moved with superspeed. They hadn't detected the elder, no matter what they tried.

"Looks like he skipped town." Maximus said, a feeling of disappointment in his mind. He noticed Hondur eyeing him strangely....no...that was a look of accusation. Maximus couldn't understand it, and it bothered him.

"What the hell is up with you? Why are you looking at me that way?" Maximus demanded.

I promise you that I'll try my best making it another great RP. It will be my first hosted RP, so please bear with me lol!

IC:
That was certainly different from most of his experiences in the military.

Liao needed some light medical attention, especially for his broken ribs. He was out of the hospital in a day, with doctor's orders to come back in a few weeks. His weapons, to the nurses' and doctors' protests, never left his bedside. When he was done, he saw Osiris driving a car to pick him up from the hospital.

"In a few weeks."

After the funeral, after all this, he had a special present lying in that second case for those vampires. They would suffer.

Hondur couldn't take it any more. He had seen Skadi and Maximus embrace on several occassions. Skadi had never been intimate with him, but it was obvious she was involved with Maximus. He couldn't stand the thought of sharing Skadi with this fledgeling. He must put a stop to it.

Walking up to Maximus, Hondur unleashed a fist directly into his face. Being 25 years older, Hondur had slightly superior abilities.

"You are my problem!"
Tarlachia
27-01-2004, 09:21
Reeled back by the attack, Maximus did not rub his jaw, despite the pain throbbing. His lips were slightly bleeding. His eyes glared. Now he understood Hondur's rage. Hondur was jealous, jealous of him having the favored position with Skadi.

Maximus positioned himself, as he had been trained to do, not by Skadi, but by the Shin Kao Academy of Martial Arts. He had achieved triple black belt by the time he left the academy.

"Hondur....you don't want to do this. Listen, we can talk about this, just calm your arse down!"

In response, Hondur rushed him, murderous intent in his eyes. Maximus deflly maneuvered himself sideways slightly, and hammered a reverse roundhouse kick to the chest. Hondur flipped backwards and landed heavily on the ground, his face smacking the concrete. Hondur got up slowly, his mouth spitting blood as he hissed at Maximus, rage boiling within his eyes.

"Hondur, I don't want to fight you, but you leave me with no choice."

And with that, Maximus tossed his weapons aside, and said to Hondur, venom from his words seething out.

"Drop your weapons. Let's fight honorably. Unless you're a coward!"

Maximus narrowed his eyes, set into position, and beckoned Hondur to attack with a slight flick of his hand.

Skadi stood off to the side, her face set cold. She would let these two fledgelings fight it out, they needed to settle this...now. The two were pretty well balanced, that she knew, but Hondur had the slight advantage of experience. However, Maximus had his advantage too, the martial arts. It would all come down to who was the fastest thinker on their feet.
27-01-2004, 10:22
George was heading off now, having collected what few belongings he had. Along the way, he saw the fight between the two fledglings, and just shook his head scornfully, hidden in the shadows. He continued to move from roof to roof, all the way to the airport. There were always beggars around there. He put down his belongings, knowing that the only people who could get up here were vampires, and so wouldn't sink to steeling from one of their brethren, he leapt down, and snagged a human, and ran back up the wall quickly so that no one knew who he was. He bit down onto his victims neck, drinking the sweet nectar of the human's blood.

When he was done, he moved again, this time to the river. He slit his wrist just widely enough for the vampiric blood to remove the wounds from the corpse. He then dumped the human's body into the river.

Once he was done hiding the body, he went back to the rooftops, and back to the airport, picking up his belongings on the way. "One way ticket for Utter Madness, please," he said, completely calm. Of all the decisions he had made, this one was surely the best. Certainly since becoming a vampire. He was off to a place where vampires could do what they did the way they traditionally did it. And tradition was important to a vampire...

Hondur discared his weapons and hissed. Hondur had never been a fighter and in his 25 years of being a vampire, he had only really used his superior strength and speed instead of learning fighting techniques.

Hondur leaped off the ground, at least 10m into the air, aiming to land where Maximus was standing. His sharp nails ready to slash, he would tear Maximus' throat out with his bear hands to prove that his place was beside Skadi, alone.

Skadi sat back and didn't interfere. This was between Hondur and Maximus. If they couldn't be within eachothers presence peacefully, it must be settled.

27-01-2004, 16:04
Growling, Maximus watched as Hondur launched himself upwards. Hondurs hands spread out, the strong, sharp nails ready to slash at him. Things seemed to move in slow motion to Maximus, yet he seemed to moved with incredible skill and speed. Such was the result of martial training.

Hondur continued his downward fall, and Maximus took a few steps back, allowing Hondur to land where he had just been standing. Hondur hissed again, and began to slash at Maximus. A hand shot out coming from the side, aimed at his throat. A powerful block from Maximus deflected this attack, and countered with a twist of that arm, a strong pull of Hondur's body closer, followed by his feet being swept out from under him. Hondur fell once again, this time followed by Maximus's own fist to the vampire's chest, a heavy blow to the ribcage.

Moving quickly, Maximus jumped up, gripped Hondur with his legs and completed a forward moving flip, Hondur's body smashing the concrete once again.

Hondur managed another shot at Maximus, this time to his side. Maximus roared in pain, as Hondur's fingers buried themselves into his side. Maximus jumped up, separating the two, and stepped back. The wound promptly healed, as Maximus watched Hondur get up somewhat slowly. Maximus was having a desired effect on Hondur. With a regular mortal, Maximus would have killed them now, with the moves he had performed. He had restrained from using the deadliest attacks, not wanting to kill Hondur. However, his patience was running thin, he would have to end this soon.

Hondur ran at Maximus, employing his superior speed to zig-zag toward his enemy. Suddenly Maximus lost sight of Hondur. Too late. Hondur was behind him and layed into Maximus' back with a thundering kick.

Hondur wasted no time in landing several punches into the same place as Maximus landed har on the concrete.

Maximus's backbone shook with each pounding they recieved from Hondur's fists.

Grunts of pain released themselves from Maximus as he continued to endure the pain. Hondur had his knee in his back, holding him down. Managing to pull his hands underneath him, he took a deep breath between the poundings, and shoved off the ground, propelling both he and Hondur into the air.

Hondur was surprised at this. He hadn't expected Maximus's strength to be that good.

Once on his feet, Maximus had had the last straw. It was time to end this NOW. He decided to unleash the deadliest moves he knew. He immediately launched himself into Hondur, limbs moving at an extreme speed, every ounce of strength being used to attack. First came the attacks to the torso, followed by a hard kick to the face, further followed by a final roundhouse kick to Hondur's left eye. Hondur had difficulty dealing with this, and was eventually thrown into the wall, his body imprinting the impact.

Snarling, Maximus stood over Hondur's body, breathing heavily. He swiftly hammered another shot to Hondur's chest, and then moved his foot to Hondur's neck, pressing down hard, severely restricting Hondur's intake of air.

"Damn you Hondur! Get a hold of yourself!"

Hondur, beaten to a pulp, refused to give up. Pain had exploded all over his body, yet he will still attempt to attack Maximus.

Finally, Skadi spoke.

"He is beaten. Decide the consequences Maximus, but do not kill him."

28-01-2004, 09:17
Maximus looked over at Skadi, having finally spoken to the two fighters. He was still breathing heavily, blood running down his torso from his face. His back ached strongly.

"All right, it is ended. If you had not stepped in Skadi, I would have lost my control, and Hondur would surely have suffered more than he has now."

To Hondur, he said,

"You are lucky, you bastard. Now....to decide your consequences for your atrocious actions....hmm...yes...that will work.......Hondur, as of right now, you are banned from our presence. Your lack of self control has brought upon you great shame and dishonor. You didn't want me to be with Skadi, therefore, as your punishment, you shall not be near her again."

Maximus stepped away from Hondur, looked over at Skadi, noted the look of surprise at the harshness of the verdict, then turned his attention back to Hondur.
Assington
28-01-2004, 09:30
Skadi was slightly shocked at the verdict, but it did seem fair. It was perhaps the worst thing he could do besides killing or torturing him. She continued to watch.

Hondur would have attacked Maximus again, but he was too weak. He had been dealt severe injuries and would require more rest and feeding to heal. He merely nodded and lay back, not looking at Maximus or Skadi.

Inside, he was fuming. How dare this younger fledgeling deny him of his sire. Even more surprised to see that Skadi did not make any objections. This hurt Hondur, deeply. How could his master allow this to happen? Too weak to do anything about it, Hondur began to doze into a dreamless sleep, he needed to recover. At least enough so he would be able to move again.

28-01-2004, 16:25
Gripping his side, where Hondur had penetrated with his sharp fingernails, Maximus turned and walked away. He walked past Skadi, not saying anything, the rage still boiling inside. He hadn't wanted to do that to Hondur, but he knew that the punishment would suffice.

Maximus walked over to where he had dropped his weapons, picked them up and replaced them where they belonged.

The anger inside of himself built up continuously, and Maximus was forced to turn to the nearest wall and punch it several times. It had been necessary, and the negative energy flowed out of him with each punch.

Knuckles torn and bleeding profusely were held up, as he watched the blood act quickly to seal the wounds.

"Skadi, let's go."
Assington
29-01-2004, 08:24
Skadi gave Hondur one last glance before spinning around and following Maximus.

"He has little control. Perhaps a rash choice for a fledgeling. I am sorry you had to do that."

All over Emerald City, the tv channels all presented an image of Mayor Nakor. A grim look on his face as he started the speech.

"Citezens of Emerald City. As many of you may know, there has been a gigantic battle within the streets of our city. This battle involved several factions, including the Anti-Government Vampire Organisation, the Anti-Vampire Organisation, the Emerald City Vampire Police and an unknown source of vampires. The violence started with a battle between the AGVO and AVO, but quickly escalated as the VP and other vampires were involved. The brave officers of the VP suffered many casualties, and I send my condolences to the families of those lost. The victory was claimed by the VP, with the aid of two BCS units as these two terroists organisations were subdued. We hope a confrontation of this scale never happens again, but the streets are bound to be safer after such violence. The VP will still be out in force, enforcing our vampire laws and watching out for the safety of all city citezens."

Osiris sat within his office. Now promoted to an official team leader. He watched the speech made by the mayor. The VP wouldn't be out in strength for a while. With such dwindled numbers, it would take a lot of recruiting and training. He would be doing much of that.

Osiris was silent, remembering his friend and colleague, Garm. Osiris vowed to make sure the streets would be safe from such violence again. He knew the war wasn't over, it had just begun.
