Lydia laughed. "of course not. I wouldn't even think about being with those guys." She suddenly blinked as that last part registered. "Wait....Jealous? You mean..." She looked rather uncomfortable, but she didn't try to take her hand from Maries.

"Yes. Jealous." Marie said, pretty much choking the words out. It was hardly a romantic scene, considering they were surrounded by burnt out buildings with artillery and the sounds off all sorts of imperial and orkish weapons in the background, and the sky strobing with the lights of flares and missiles. Still though, no time like the present. "I mean...you're very nice and really pretty. I don't want you to end up with some fraking idiot like one of those guys."

Lydia was silent for a moment, then said quietly. "I like you alot too Marie." She grinned weakly. "Deffinetly a lot more than the 'fraking idiots', as you put it." She grinned wider, and gave Marie a hug. "You don't have to worry about me ending up with one of them."

At the fort

A string of hellgune fire suddenly cut into the Orkish tide. There, escorted by a dozen stormtroopers stood Jag Gambit, a hellgun in one hand and a power sword in his other. "For the Emperor." He said simply before he ordered the storm troopers to cover him as he advanced.

In the alley...

Marie smiled and hugged Lydia close. "Good..." she whispered before she decided to just get it over with. "But...who would you like to end up with?"

all around the sound of battle could be heard as Shadow took some time to look around so he could give out order to his troops as th IM join in the counterattack

Garret looked back at the two Guardswomen who were beginning to fall behind. Then they started hugging. Looking back around at Kat, he asked, "What's with those two, hey? They're freaky."

Datrohan senced adrenaline pouring and pumping through him,as he ran through the Orks and stabing them with his lasgun bayonete...the strange thing was he thought....

"How the hell are they not noticing me?Emperors will maybe?Nah,im just lucky as fuck"
the area he ran through was a burning inferno,huge explosions,ork blood splattering all around him,dirt howering in the air around him...he was breathing hardly as he runned through smoke and dirt....

The colonel was listening closely to his vox, and suddenly gave a wide smile. "Good news!" He cried to the Major, after quickly dispatching an Ork Choppa Boy with his power claw. "We are getting reinforcements soon. We have but to hold out for half an hour, and we shall slaughter these Xenos."

Lydia smiled, and pulled back to look at Marie's face. "Who do you think?" She said with a grin. "The sarge? Nah, too damned grumpy. The colonel scares me, and the commissar would probably shoot me." The smile widened. "So who does that leave, hmm?"

At the fort

The Major had just finished bisecting an Ork with his power sword when the Colonel gave him the news. "Good. We win here, and we break the back of their presence on this planet. And then there's just the mopping up to do..." He said with a humorless smile as he turned to plant several lasrounds in the face of a Choppa Boy.

In the alley

"Hm. I don't know." Marie said jokingly. "But I'm hoping you mean a certain corporal..." She pulled the other girl closer, aware they were running out of time. She decided to just run with it and leaned in to kiss her comrade-in-arms gently on the lips, hoping of course she wouldn't find a lasbolt in her gut as a response.

The colonel nodded in a self-satisfied way. "That will teach the Xenos to encroach on the Emperor's territory." He muttered as he gored another Ork.

Lydia was understandably surprised when Marie pulled her in for a kiss, but then she started to enjoy herself. Wow, she thought as she began to kiss the other girl back. This is actually pretty nice.

Wallace was among those who were in the counter attack. Some crazy officer stood up and charged the Ork's with a dozen or so troopers with him Wallace had been swept up into he center of it. They all moved forward eyes ahead, their weapons eating into the Orks in front of them. Wallace brought his las gun up and aimed it at the first Ork he noticed. He fired not quite bothering to aim. The Ork stopped in its tracks, a hole were Wallace presumed its heart must have been. Wallace must have stood there for a second because a trooper from behind him pushed him forward. Wallace raised his weapon again and fired. He felt incredible, a strange feeling in his throat forced his mouth open. Out of his mouth came a bellowing roar, a battle cry. He was surprised he had even heard it over the roar of weapons. He felt a round pass his head and hit the trooper behind him. Wallace was showered in blood and gore. His war cry stooped in his throat. He turned around a started firing into the Ork's again all urge of blood lust leaving his system, replaced by a single fact. The Ork's must die. He started firing again.

At the fort

The onslaught continued. Gambit's storm troopers methodically advanced, slaughtering the confused and disorganized Orks while Gambit and the Colonel supported them. By now, Gambit was covered in xeno blood. And to be honest, he couldn't have felt better as he sliced into another Ork in the name of the Emperor. All the rage he kept bottled up normally unleashed on an enemy of mankind, the Major was a sight to see as he dueled three or four Orks at once and came out the victor!

In the alley...

Marie held Lydia close for a long moment, continuing the kiss until she reluctantly pulled away, blushing and smiling. "We'd better get going...the others will wonder where we went off to."

Datrohan saw stormtroopers rush into the Ork line,his experience soon kicked in and he found a good flanking spot for his lasgun....
He started firing,Orks thought the rounds were coming from the fort but Datrohan was on their left side....
Orks were falling one by one with terrible wounds,but also his comrades were taking casualties too,he saw a troopers brain spilled out on his fellow troopers in the Orkish center..

"Datrohan do not fail God Emperor,he is our light and beacon in the sea of heresy,you must not brake in front of this challenge!"

He said to himself as he brough lines of Orks down with his lasgun...

"Twenty minutes!" Aurelios cried over the sound of weapon fire, putting a lasround in an oncoming Ork. Suddenly, the air was filled with the sound of stomping, and a great animal cry. "Shit..." The colonel muttered, seconds before a Squigoth came into view, trampling both Gaurdsmen and Orks alike.

Lydia sighed. "You're probably right. They might get suspiscious." She began to jog back in the direction of the other soldiers.

Datrohan saw the huge creature running and stomping men and Orks...
"Oh,my fu**ng God Emperor,a Squigoth?!?!"
He took a grenade and charged towards the huge creature....
The Giant creature was stoming around and lashing its tail to kill troops....
Datrohan ran towards it and threw a Krak Grenade onto the Orks fortified on the Squigoth...
The Grenade exploded and killed the beast's "driverz" and now the Squigoth was atacking Orks and Troopers alike...
Datrohan needed to get onto it and kill it...

Gambit gestured back with his power sword. "Fall back! Heavy weapons to bare on that thing now!" He screamed, barely dodging a sweepin motion with the creatures tail as he did so. He tapped into his vox beed. "I want a lock on this thing from our artillery. I need a ToT now!"

Meanwhile, Marie could hear all the sounds coming from the fort up ahead. "Come on." She said to the group. "Sounds like we're missing all the fun."

IC: Aurelios began ushering the soldiers along. "Move damnit, move! Get out of the way of heavy weaponry, we can't tangle with that thing."

"Right...funs a good word..." Lydia muttered.

As Datrohan ran towards the angered creature,he noticed a huge pile of debree and rocks overlooking the creature....
He said to himself...

"Oh,fu*k it,there goes nothing..."

He managed to get onto the pile of rubble with some dificulties and waited for the Squigoth to pass below....

Wallace rolled out of the way just in time. One the Squigoth thing legs stomped right in front of him, almost throwing him off his feet. The next few seconds were a blur to him. He picked up his rifle, not quite sure what he was doing, and slammed it into a shrapnel wound on the beasts leg. He switched his gun to auto and let rip. The creatures leg suddenly reared forward throwing him back wards.

Earthshaker Platform and i only Rped it happening ,no people

Plasma, melta and autocannon fire came to bare on the beast per Gambit's orders, but it hardly seemed to make any immediate difference aside from pissing the all ready enraged creature off. But when the earth shaker rounds started pelting the area around it, it got real messy. Gambit could hardly hear him self think anymore and much less yell any orders. If something didn't change, and fast, the lines would fall into anarchy...

Datrohan saw a young trooper halt the creature for a second,and decided to jump then...
He landed heavily on the creatures back and was going to fall,because the Earthshaker barrage terrified the beast,and he was going to fall if it wasn't for a rope that was falling over its back...
He dificultly started to climb on to it....
The hardened skin of the huge beast made it a little easier to climb on it....

OOC: I'm out for a little bit.

Some how Wallace was alive, he was buried under a large pile of Orks though. How he got there he didn't know, but when artillery started hammering the thing, he was quite happy. Not all that happy with the smell, but at least he was safe.

OOC: I'm off for the night, back tomorrow.

As the beast was directly hit on its side with an Earthshaker round which created a horrible wound it released a terrible roar...and it started to crumble...Datrohan was outbalanced by the hit and started to fall of the wounded creature,but as he was falling he threw a grenade into creatures mouth....
He fell onto a group of corpses and lost his conciousness.

The squiggoth looked like it was about to roar again...before the top half of it's head blew off in a comical macabre fashion, released a fountain of blood before it fell over on it's side crushing dozens of Orks beneath. With the danger of the squiggoth ended, the Guard was free to mop of the remnants of the Orkish host.

As Datrohan woke up,everything around him was fuzzy and shaking and he realised that he was lying on a huge pile of corpses...but almost immediately he noticed troopers runing towards him in the distance and a huge corpse of a Squigoth five meters from him...he didn't knew what happened....

Garret, seeing the squiggoth, began to unlimber his missile launcher, loading a krak missile so as to bring the big frakker down properly. Before he could bring it to bear, however, one stupid trooper jumped on the thing with a smoking grenade in his hand. Unseen by the guardsman climbing on the 'goth, an Ork trukk was bringing a heavy bolter in on him, and without hesitation, Garret locked in on it and fired, shouting, "Missile on the way!"

The explosion and fall of the squiggoth were enough to shift the corpses enough to make a slight hole, he could climb through. As he reached the top he started to notice that the gun fire was becoming less and less. He stood on the pile of corpses, easily three feet high and looked around. Everywhere he could see there was xeno blood. Everybody was covered in it, in some place. The fighting had seemed to little down to small skirmishes, some very stupid Ork's still involved in skirmishes around the area. It seemed like a time to relax, then all of a sudden he was thrown forward. He looked around to see what had happened just in time to see a Gretchin clamber out of the pile. Wallace reached foe his side arm, but it wasn't there, he grabbed his bayonet instead. The Gretchin was huge, easily the biggest Wallace had ever seen. It lunged forwards, its arms extended out to grab him. Wallace knew there was wall behind him so, he rolled forward and brought his boot up to meet the Gretchin stomach. It was stumbled back a few feet, giving Mark time to raise his bayonet. The Gretchin lunged forward with its claw like hand, but Wallace's bayonet was there to meet it. Two of its claw like fingers fell to the ground, it let out a howl of pain.

It garbed Wallaces other arm, by he lashed out with his bayonet, slicing into the Gretchin's arm. The Gretchin moved backwards, but there was no escape, two other troopers had their guns raised, the Gretchin let our a scream of anger and went back to charge Wallace again. As it turned Wallace brought down his bayonet to the Gretchin's head. He felt it break the skull and enter the soft matter that it called a brain. It stooped, it body slumping to the floor all life leaving it. Wallace went back to the pile of xenos and recovered his pistol, walked back to the Gretchin's body and fired twice.

The Orks now began to retreat from the city, demoralized by the death of their Squiggoth, but they ran right into the reinforcements, who immeadietly began pouring lasrounds into the Green Tide. Garret dropped to one knee, loading a frag shell into his missile tube, then took aim, ducking back behind a low brick wall as a group of Gretchin took a few potshots at him. Drawing his laspistol and standing in one swift movement, he caught the first squeaky monster between the eyes, double-tapping each of the others in their broad forehead. Once that was done, he retrieved his launcher from where his dropped it when the slugs had whizzed by his ears. Sighting on a particularly large Ork who was attempting to rally the Greenskins, he bellowed, "Fire in the hole!" and squeezed off the missile. It flew straight and fast, slamming the nob in the gut, exploding him and several of his newly routed mob into a messy soup.

Reloading his tube, he checked the charge on his pistol. Ten shots, he thought. And sixty more in my power packs. He took the time to scavenge a lasgun and enough ammo to last the rest of the battle, and then some. The batt's were light, and you could carry a lot of ammo in just one satchel. Then he thought of his missile munitions. Checking the satch' strapped to his back, he saw that he had one krak and two fraggs left, plus a Hellfire napalm round. It was at this point that he decided to rejoin Kat at the line of screaming 'Guards. He laid into the retreating Orks with the rest of them, firing quick, high power blasts into the larger Xeno's, aiming for the most vital parts he could see.

Datrohan was still in a state of confusion as he looked around him,nothing made sence to him...
Troopers were chasing the Orks and shooting them in the back,other trooper was looking for ammo and shooting Xenos.
It was a carnage...

Garret checked to either side of himself, guessing how many 'Guards were left. There were quite a few on both sides, and he decided now would be the best time to back up and let someone else take his place so he could set the napalm round. "Loading!" He bellowed above the din, trying to make himself heard so someone else would step in to fill the gap he left as he fell back. As he did so, he nearly knocked over a man standing directly behind the line, staring dumbly at the fray. Just then, several troopers in the segment he had vacated were sent flying by slugga rounds. Garret jumped aside, and in the process tackled the trooper, knocking him flat. "Stay down, man! You hit?"

"What,what happened?"

Asked Datrohan considerly outbalanced and confused...

Garret patted Datrohan down, checking for wounds. He didn't find anything immediately serious that he could tell, but better safe then sorry. He pulled the trooper to his feet and half carried, half led him to a broken wall that seemed at least semi-bullet-proof.

"You're gonna be fine, mate, just hang on to me and we'll get your feet under you. Watcher name?" Even as he spoke, he sat his charge against the performed a more thorough examination.

Datrohan snaped out of it in an instance...
"Senior Veteran Datrohan Windicore's the name,comrade...
i think....,i think i can walk,im just a little out of order,last thing i remember i was on top of that fucking Squigoth thing and next KABOOM im in the middle of corpses and artillery barrage!"

Garret nodded, handing his canteen to Datrohan.

"Here, sir, drink this. It's just water, with some mints crushed up in it. Are you hurt? Do you need a medico? I think we're okay for now, but they need every man on the line right now." Thinking of this, Garret stood, checking over the chest-high wall. The line of Guardsmen had pushed forward quite a ways, but there were still a lot on the ground, some still alive.

"Thank you,lad" responded Datrohan to this kind act...
"i supose we should get going trooper,to the front lines!"

Aurelios was now grinning wildly as he stabbed through an orks head. This had gone much better than he'd anticipated. He'd fully expected the Regiment to be decimated after this battle, even if they won. This would do wonders for the Regiment's morale.

Garret stood, pulling Datrohan up with him, taking his canteen as he did."The Emperor protects, sir." He said, before unstrapping his missile tube and dropping it, darting out to the open ground. Instead of going for the line, however, he picked up a sergeant who'd lost a leg, carrying him back to the small, safe area behind the wall. He tied a tourniquet on the stump just under the right knee, gave him a swig from his canteen, and went back out for another soldier. He'd never wanted that big damn pipe anyway. He'd been trained as a corpsman, and it made more sense that way, anyhow. He'd get back to the fight when no one else needed him right then, and it wasn't like he didn't shoot an Ork or two every time he went back.

"just let them fight themself they don't need our help" said Shaow as he troops left the MI keep fighting while they regrouped

At the moment, the battle seemed one. Just as Gambit predicted, the Ork retreat turned into a rout as the Imperials steam-rolled the retreating green horde. Aside from a few pockets of resistance, the city was secure. After the battle, Marie started looking around the area in a bit of frantic pace, looking for Lydia.

After Garret had carried the last wounded soldier he found to the medico center, where he had been informed there were quite enough corpsmen bringing them in already, he proceeded back to the breach, in the hopes of rejoining his ad-hoc squad. Right off he spotted one of the women who'd sneaked off just before the battle. Jogging up to her, he noticed her looking around, so he said, "Lost somethin', ma'am?"

Marie stopped and raised an eyebrow at the soldier. She didn't recognize him, and didn't feel like taking any crap. Again without much regard for rank, she waved him off and attempted to push past him.

"What's it to you?" She growled.

with the noise of battle gone Shadow stood onto top of a Leman Russ battle tank

"Eighth restock and form up in two hours" he yelled to the troops as the MI did what they did

Garret fell into step behind the woman, apparently unfazed by her hostility. He had his lasrifle combat-slung, easy to reach in case they ran into any Greenskins. "You look like you lost someone, or something. 'Sides were in the same unit, an' none of us need to be runnin' around alone. This place ain't clear, no matter if we're gettin' shot at or not." He lazily pulled a lho-stick from one of the hundreds of pockets on his fatigues, lighting it casually with a match.

Marie sighed. "I'm looking for this trooper named Lydia. She's about my size, and she's a private. Seen her?" She asked, not really expecting a helpful answer. But if she got any more hostile, the other soldier might get suspicious, and that wouldn't be good.

The Guardsman drew on his lho thoughtfully, blowing the smoke out through his nose. "Yeah, I saw 'er. Last time I did, you were pullin' 'er off into a corner for a little chat. Can't recall since then. Mostly been worried about my own hide, and a few others."

She raised an eyebrow at Kat. "Thats one way to put it I suppose."

Garret squashed his lho, tapping another out of a newly opened pack. "Anyone need a drink, or some food? I picked up some canteens and ration bars? Tastes like crap, but it gives you a boost."

"MI just sits back and do nothing while there are orks to be killed"said the soldier with the heavy bolter with Shadow

Garret pulled heavily on the unfiltered lho, letting the calm wash over him, before the narcotic pulled him sharply back into reality.

"Ah, this REMF is jumpin' my case for askin' what we're doin next." He continued in a normal tone of voice. "Even though I wasn't talkin' to the jumped-up Big Toy Boy. He happens by and decides to ride me for jokin' that it'd be nice to deal with cultists for a change."

Wallace moved away from the Gretchin corpse and headed back towards the fort hopeing to run into somebody, with an officers badge, or a medical kit. The two slugga wounds he had taken earlier had reopened, his ankle seemed to be dislocated and he had two really deep cut were that Gretchin had cut him, in his arm.

As Datrohan moved away from the angry major and the trooper he was trying to get to 8th Regiment's HQ three city block's south of his current position and he saw a wounded trooper,walking heavily and trying to balance.
