Is anyone here interested in doing an Imperial Guard Character RP? I've been reading Gaunts Ghosts and the Commisar Cain series lately, and I've sort of got an urge to make an imperial guard character. Depending on the amount of interest and participation in such a project, of course. If we get enough activity and interest, we may even be able to split the RP into chapters, and we'll get to crush a new enemy of mankind on a new planet in each. ^.^;!

So anyone interested?

I'm thinking no, at least for the moment. The thing I like about the IG is that they are humans, just normal people. No geneseed, no power armor. :p

I thought about being the commander, but I figured it'd be too typical and narcissistic for me, the creator of the RP, to also take on such an important role. So no, I won't be the commander. I might be the commisar, but if someone else wants that role, they can have that too.

As for which regiment, I figured the best way to do things would be to create a new one, so as to avoid stepping on any canon. We're going to be playing the 1st Mobile Infantry, a new regiment that was recently founded by mixing the remnants of several previous regiments, all of which had been depopulated or outright destroyed at the climax of the 13th Black Crusade. So characters can come from a variety of different backgrounds and planets, and have a variety of different training.

Hmm....So would we still be able to have raw recruits as characters? Or would we have to have someone who was in one of the previous regiments?

You could have a raw recruit that was in one of the previous regiments, and just didn't see any or much action.

History:

Karl was born on the planet a world that has been under Imperial rule for well over 700 hundred years. The Xharnians are a militant and warlike people that had to fend off a large Orc waaagh a few years back.

Karl was originally born as a low birth and his family was farmers until the day. He and his brothers were conscripted to fight for the doomed Xharnian 1st Regiment. The Xharnian 1st's were all eliminated in a Dark Eldar raid and Karl was one of the only survivors. He could not return to Xharn being several hundred light years away from Xharn. This lone survivor wandered the devastated planet of Anbuis II until more Imperial Guard reinforcements arrived.

Karl is now being sent to the 1st Mobile Infantry a Regiment of disseminated survivors like himself.


Is this acceptable?

She lived a simple farmer girls life until on the eve of her 17th birthday, the Munitorioum demanded that Valhalla raise another regiment, the Valhallan 613th to fight against the great enemy in the 13th black crusade.

The 613th was nearly destroyed, with only 316 soldiers surviving the final battle of the crusade. As per orders of the Munitorioum, the remnants of the 613th, along with the remnants of other regiments were folded into a new Regiment ,the 1st mobile infantry.

History: The world of Mereshka is a new addition to the Imperium, and as such, worship of the God Emperor has not fully taken hold. Lydia was one of the few in her town who had fanatically embraced the new religion. She joined the Imperial Gaurd willingly in an act of defiance to those who did not share her newfound belief. The Regiment she was originally intended for was decimated by the Black Crusade, and thus she was sent to the 1st Mobile Infantry instead. She has never seen combat, and only recently learned to shoot her lasgun.

It was a joke; I just wanted to see how our regiment could handle to very different styled enemies. The Orks use huge numbers and try to get in close alot of them time with their short range firepower.

The Tau far more organized a force and it would seem an interesting scenario for the 1st Mobile Regiment..

Don't worry about me, I'm down with whoever we fight. But killing Tau makes me think I'm killing the only hope the 40k galaxy has.

History: Aurelios Vander was born on a mostly barren world. The planet had long since been drained of any useful resources, and the atmosphere was nearly gone. It was a dying planet, but one that produced the strongest sort of humans. They were a very warlike people, constantly warring over precious food and water. When the Imperium came, they recognised the the thoughness of these people, and decided they were prime canidates for the Imperial Army. As the fleet that contacted them brought much in the way of useful materials,the populace became compliant almost immediatly, ready to worship the God-Emperor if it meant rescue from their dying planet. He is the veteran of several battles duringthe Black Crusade, and was one of the few survivors from the Zharn 3rd Regiment.

History: Jag Gambit was born on Cadia. And as typical of a young Cadian man, he attended some of the finest military academies in the Imperium. He grew up with a passionate reverence of the Emperor and a hatred of the enemies of Mankind, the Archenemy of course being the most hated among them. He was originally an officer in a Cadian Regiment, the 789th during the 13th Black Crusade, but the heavy casualties suffered by that regiment, coupled with his excellent tactical and leadership abilities made him rise to the position of Major in the new 1st Mobile Infantry.

Well, not much has happened truly. We just landed into the capital on an Ork infested world, trying to hold them off. Just barely started that whole bit.

History: The world Xouk exists far from the center of the empire, existing on the very fringe of Imperial space. Little or no records remain of its colonization apart from 'barren rock devoid of life.' The barren rock did contain a large amount of volcanoes and in the years to pass a scientific outpost soon turned into a small settlement. Before the settlement could expand any more a damaged Chaos Troop ship landed on the planet. It deadly cargo awakening and attempting to claim the planet as a new foothold for chaos. The Chaos troops there were eventually defeated when the inquisition along with the imperial guard destroyed the last monument of Chaos.

Mark Wallace was destined since birth to become a member of the imperial guard. His farther had been a war hero who died in the battle for Xouk. Reared from birth to take up his fathers mantel, Mark enlisted with the first opportunity to the imperial guard. He is currently serving with the 1st Mobile Infantry.

to get inside a fort you fire at it and try to bring down the walls as well as do damge to those inside and those inside fire back

Mark Wallace had been apart of the original Imperial Guard presence on the planet. The had part being that the original Guard no longer existed and Wallace was all that was left, lying in a medical bed in the fort infirmary. He didn't have much memory of the actual battle, but apparently he had been shot twice in the chest by a Slugga. It hurt like a bitch. Thankfully he had been lucky enough to be hurt when they still had medical supplies. He was told that he would probably be in the infirmary for the rest of the of the war. So much to living up to his fathers name. At that moment another group of people went through the doors of the infirmary carrying more wounded. One of the officers stood in front of his bed.

'Where are you hurt?'

'I was shot in the chest sir.'

'Is there any reason you can't move?'

'Sorry, sir.'

'Because last time i checked chest wounds don't stop a man from fighting. Now get out of this bed, get into uniform, pick up a rifle and get out here!'

'But sir.'

'NOW!' screamed the officer almost throwing him off the bed. Wallace knew better than to wait, he knew he shouldn't have even said anything. He ran to his barracks and grabbed his uniform and weapons. As he reached the area between the fort an the walls he ran into something. To his surprise and fright, it was a Commissioner.

If the Commissar standing next to you is one of the gung ho types, you're close to getting this thing they do in the IG. It's called "Summary Execution", which means that he can kill you, and all it means is paperwork.

I don't think theres such a thing as Warmaster anymore. If I remember right, they abolished it after the Horus Heresy. And the thing with Commissars, is technically they outrank damn near everyone, but they don't have much battlefield command.

Yeah it was named after him because he was one of the best Generals Imperium had,he is a refference on Alexander the Great as his troops too decided not to follow him as he wanted to attack the unkown space too.

They have a brilliant history. They were among the few that didn't side with Horus, they boldly stood against the legions of chaos at the Imperial palace to buy time, they also carry one of the worst curses ever conceived.
