Do we all need a character to purchase the drugs to indicate that they were smuggled into our countries? Or should it be just be assumed that it was smuggled in eventually by other parties and we're just going to be reacting to the zombie outbreak?
I'm assuming Mokastana buys the "drug-labs in a can" but mistakens them for "drugs, ready to distribute", the lulz would occur shortly thereafter.

yeah, so it will probably be me that sells it to the world, and once the "opps" factor comes into play the first few breakouts will occur.

will post soon

I apologize for my absence everyone. School and football has kept me away for most of this week. I was going to post today but I'll have to do it tomorrow.

My response has been prepared in advanced:
Imma jeep, pheck joo! Pehw pehw pehw! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1942Jeep.jpg)
(Note scoped Springfield A4 in driver's scabbord)
My country is generally 30-years "behind the times"

So most my gear is 1938-era shit...
M1 Garand? Pheck no... I get a "Savage" single-lug bolt-action combat-shotgun...

That or Type 38 Carbines (http://world.guns.ru/rifle/rfl22-e.htm) + Type 96 LMGs (http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg54-e.htm), with the occassional AVT/SVT rifle...

Not sure what my SMG/pistol would be...
M3A1+M1911A1 for the sake of simplicity?
-Fun fact: it costs $30 @ $5 per man-hour to make (<4 hrs in total, by a labor-force with no previous industrial experiance [1920's flapper generation of women, not to be sexist, but chances are they weren't planning on doing factory-work back then]), plus cost of materials. (http://www.whq-forum.de/cms/576.0.html)
That was an actual design requirement BTW...
So yeah, the gun costs less than 4 full sticks of 'premium' ammo...*
And would have spent its worth in ammo a couple hundred times over if you bought it used...
Just something to think about when you decide to look at gun/replica-gun-prices...
*Supposedly, this is more than the price for a STEN and MP-40 combi-gun

Hurtful, so that puts me 2 years ahead of you at this point then? :p

Actually, it puts me roughly where the world would've been if the Chinese were Japanese imperialists rather than Nationalist/Communist... And recieved American aid instead of hostility, because FDR had a hard-on for the Nationalist-Chinese Princess.
But not quite like that... But does anyone really want a backstory to my "rise to power"? Can't we all just say I'm in a good place?

Except, well, my comparative economy would place me more on-par with Port-Morsby rather than Hong-Kong...

And I'd rather not try figuring out how to work an Owen...
As a "zombie-wartime" development, I'd "bullpup" one of these (http://world.guns.ru/assault/as78-e.htm)...

Looks familiar... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10892498&postcount=17) though it'll take quite some time to see front-line use... owing to the 6.5x50SR ammo...
Plus, the sleeve, would either be omited, or would look more liek a Lewis.

And yeah, tilting and roller-locking are cheaper than lugs...
Cost to produce would be about $100...

K, mixing such a cheap drug as "chug" /w/ E84 is going to screw someone down the line...

I was trying to come up with a name of a beverage company...Chug was the only thing that didn't seem like a rip-off of an actual beverage but still gives an idea of what is being sold. If you could think of any other name, I'll happily change it.

Well that's going to be epic as when some french baker decided to use infected grains in 1951... (Later claims that this is false, and instead due to mercury poisioning)
Another occured in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 2001.

Anyways, using a major food-source/beverage as a transmission device will lead to massive area of outbreak, far beyond the means of initial containment.

And if you act too fast, not everyone will realize there's a pshychotic disease out there causing people to kill, and will just see "crazy military killining civvies indiscriminately", and thus, will take intellegent efforts to defend themselves, all while being infected themselves...

After awhile, militaries would just use shortcut "ctrl-F-U" and/or REX-84, causing its own problems...

Well, I was thinking that the drug would be somewhat diluded due to the comparitively large amount of *insert name of popular soft drink*. Of course, with its addictive element, people drink more and more and the drug accumulates in the body (I think it was said that it was some kind of fungus that grew inside you?) and eventually drives these people insane. I'm going to assume by then that outbreaks have happened in other countries and the corporations countrolling my country would recognize the symptoms and be able to respond suitably.

Determining the window where they can react is going to be a bit tough. It has to be soon enough that the zombies don't get too out of hand and the military starts bombing the crap out of everything that moves, but late enough that the corporations have enough evidence to seize control of the government though "emergency powers" or something similar and begin containment.

This was a good way to get my part up to speed with everything. Its more or less an introduction for me. I'd also like to apologize for my long absence, I was sick for awhile. Anyways this is starting to get interesting.

The 'drug' is actually a fungi-bacterial parasitic symboite that secretes hallucigenic toxins similar to and including LSD... So basic pasterization kills it and breaks down the drug, while fermentation/carbonation increases potency.

BTW, it not take much LSD to kill... On the order of a thousandth of a milligram per kg would give you a "narly and possably unrecovereable ride", a dose of 100 mg is undoubtedly fatal, or would make an elephant foam at the mouth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tusko#Tusko:_.22The_elephant_on_LSD.22)...
Experiments with LSD were also done on animals; in 1962, an elephant named Tusko died shortly after being injected with 297 mg, but whether the LSD was the cause of his death is controversial

Hmmm...okay, that's not something I knew. Would it matter when the 'drug' is added to the beverage? Is there a difference in the potency if the drug were to be added to the final product, as opposed to before it is carbonized?

I suppose the 'drug' could be place in extremely low quantities (a couple of drops?) in large batches of the soft drink (after it is made, but before it is bottled), seeing as my character doesn't know how long he is going to need it and doesn't want to have to buy more. It'll also leave a supply for the corporate-government to seize for analysis. Maybe come up with a less dangerous additive that still causes addition.

That the joy, it isn't addictive, although there are physical symptoms/pains/difficulties encountered when recovering from prolonged acute exposure. But staying on at that point is generally much worse.

If stored for a period of time after bottling, it will brew itself.

Tossing it into the raw syrup tanks would be quite beneficial to its development, lots of sugar... From there it could infect entire soda-fountains in buffets/resteraunts...

Truthfully, I dreamt this unlikely concoction up as a "potential world-killer", for biologically induced Mutually Assured Destruction, except with a vaccine (and a fecking simple one at that, provided you can figure out what it is you are making a vaccine FOR*)...

*BTA, there's chance of mutation into vaccine/antibiotic/fungicide resistant strains...
@ which point teh world is essentially handjobbed by an amoeba.
In reality, this combination DOESN'T WORK, for many reasons.**
So in the end, just tell youself: "It's only an RP..."

**And even if it did, it really would only take isolation of one orthe other @ some point, or the ultimate untimely OD+death of the victims, or that the victims don't become sufficiently violent to effectively spread the disease.
That's the downside of "staged cocktails", the series of events that must hppen are just too fragile to be self-sustaining outside the labratory.
It's a case of the right hand killing the left before the left could finish (LSD and the toxins secreted by Ergot kills itself long before reaching fatal levels unless consumed in large quantities or condensed, and even then, it doesn't survive in bloodstream, ever, thus non-contagious).
Similar difficulties are encountered when producing Botox or Ebola as weapons (Ebola is more lethal than contagious, therefore killing its couriers before they can carry-on, Botulism poisions itself and the toxin rarely lasts a month in storage).

The above disclaimer is for potentially legal/ethical reasons.

How long a period of time before it begins brewing itself? If it's too short of a time for a reasonable packaging/delivery/shipping out before it's sold, I could push up my character's nervousness about being discovered and he could have them shipped ASAP. Either way, the inital batches would just have the milder form of the drug, while the later ones have increasing amounts of it, due to its self-brewing property, eventually leading to outbreaks across the nation.

Related to that, I'm going to be hoping that other nations would have begun to experience outbreaks before my own. Since the initial outbreaks in my own country are likely to be much more widespread and much larger, information from other areas is going to be critical to have improved reaction times.

And I think that though the addiction wouldn't be chemical, people would probably like to experience that same high again and again, which in itself is addiction.
