I had an idea where we could have a some crazy @#$@ school where gifted students go to. There will be three sub-classes for good, evil and vigilantes(almost like harry potter's classes). I also could use some help on this, I was never good at starting threads ha. ^^Thank you.

Brief Bio:

Rathma retired from the military life when Lynion came to an era of peace. Since he was a martial arts teacher in the Supernatural Classification, he had gained the abilities of being a werewolf and a vampire. Rathma is in fact a cross-breed of a vampire and a werewolf. His natural form is a werewolf but his true powers lies in being part vampire. However, he is required to wear armour plating in order to keep his inner flesh from escaping its tomb. (Picture the armour plating as an extra layer of skin tissue) He is partly cybernetic but he intends to hide it but often students and teachers will know this since he never wears shoes, boots or socks of any kind.

If you're after a picture of Rathma, he is similar to General Grevious (with the armour plating). The armour plating covers his legs, arms, feet, toroso and parts of his neck leaving much of his head exposed. The head is the only part of the body that has natural skin tissues.

He can teach martial arts and sports.

Abilities(maximum is two): Vampire Spiritual (similar to using the Force just only push and pull) and Werewolf Supernatural abilities in the martial arts.

He decided to join the school after hearing they can teach him to control his abilities and his natural form is a vampire. He is a master in the Vampire Supernatural which can make him deadly if he can control his anger and his powers.

Gregory is a second generation supervillien. His father, Edward Montgomery, was the Jockey. It was clear to Edward, that his son had inherited superpowers. He trained Gregory, hard, in controlling his powers, and developing evil plots based upon him. Though his father was officially retired, he went out to pull one more heist, but was caught in the act, by his arch-nemesis, Glove-Man. A fight ensued, and Edward Montgomery, the Jockey, was killed by one of Glove-Man's exploding gloves, that send him flying of the roof of a 50 story building. Now, Gregory, has chosen to attend this school, to better refine his skills, so that he can return home, and face Glove-Man, to avenge his fathers death, and take over the city.

A.) Hypnotism, specifically, causing a person, or persons, to commit on, or many of the seven deadly sins excessively. Which he then exploits for his own gain.

1) Electro-kinesis - The ability to generate and propel charges of electricity ranging from minor to fatal voltage. (Note: Unlike others in SRPA who possess this ability, Kai's lightning bolts are red, rather than blue. The reasons for this are currently unknown.)

2) Invisibility - the ability to walk in plain view of other people without being seen.

Weakness: Electro-Kinesis can be affected in the same way electricity can (eg. Water would cause feedback), powers require energy to use.

Brief Bio: An orphaned girl, much like Samus Aran, selected by the Galactic Federation to be integrated into a group of new galactic guardians. With none the wiser on her planet of Tigeria, she was taken and willingly infused with the blood of a Chozo Priest who saw that an army of Samuses (more or less) would do several times what the formidable bounty hunter could do, but better. Secondly, mine isn't a super soldier. She is just a bit faster than a normal person. And her iteration of the Power suit does nothing but give her a gun, essentially.

Actually, Rathma has armour plating and he's a Super.

Rathma's armor is a part of him, so to speak. It isn't optional, and part of the fun with RPing my character is that she needs to learn how to get along without being suited up all the time.

When he healed, his powers were remarkably stronger--and he had a thirst for revenge. At 15, he helped to found the Fraternal, Infernal Legion for Terrorist Hegemony (that's F.I.L.T.H.). After participating in several criminal acts, he was hunted down, and an injection was developed that neutralized his powers. The courts have ordered him to attend special schooling in order to be allowed to use his powers again, but I don't think he's going to make it, do you?

Abilities(maximum is two): Extreme Flatulance with dexterity. Can, to some extent, control what his flatus smells like, where it goes and its chemical composition. Thus, he can cause it to ignite on contact with normal air, making him able to fly; he can make it highly acidic, causing it to eat away at objects around him (e.g. girders that keep a building standing); and, of course, he can make it toxic, causing it to become a knockout gas...or worse...

weakness: Has no back-up powers. Without his single special ability, he is an ordinary human, vulnerable to all the things that people are vulnerable to. Is afraid of fire.

Dude, this is the first time I've ever used this character. I'm still trying to get a feel for what works and doesn't work with him. I've got no idea what "going overboard" even is with this guy.

Just to remind everyone, Professor Phoenix is doing Power Classes. Its like Power harness, duels and it basically prepares the characters for the outside world. He also does sport.

Brief Bio: They say that there is an exception to every rule. Rufus Lannergan is the exception to the rule of the Universe. He has shown no signs of aging since he reached his physical prime, despite long years traveling, and he's dealt with things ranging from observing treaties between interstellar forces to covenants binding the limits of wizardry in certain realms. Rufus has little personal interest in many matters, mostly being driven by curiosity and the rather annoying habit of constantly finding himself at interesting places during interesting times. Traveling through time and space poses no challenge for him, though he's never been able to control when he leaves, where and when he ends up, and for how long he gets to stay. On many an occasion, he has merely tripped over a log, or an upturned carpet edge, or even a step in a stairwell, finding that the time and place where his face lands is different than the one that his feet left.

Abilities: Being the exception. It's rather hard to do anything to Rufus to permanently harm him, as most attempts have so far failed. He's also picked up quite a lot of knowledge during his travels, and the rules of physics and nature don't always work the same way if applied to him. His control is somewhat inherent, though the very nature of his abilities means that full control is damn near impossible. Notably, his jacket has pockets that are much bigger and more complex on the inside than on the outside.

Weakness: Being the exception. When the Universe is constantly trying to right itself by moving you from point to point, it gets to the point wherein little personal attachments can be made. Rufus has very little real power to change anything on his own, his influence in the existence that tries to ignore him limited only to the counsel that he offers freely, and the observations that he makes about a subject. Also, it is some odd force as inexplicable as Rufus himself that manages to shunt him from place to place and time to time. This means that while he knows quite a lot, his mind concentrates intensely on the present, with little recall for personal history before yesterday and little interest in anything beyond tomorrow. He thinks and acts in the here and now, and if he seems uniquely prepared for a situation, he neither knows nor cares how his preparations came to be.

Alignment: Like the mightiest hurricane or the smallest pebble, Rufus simply is. Only what others take away from their interactions with him can good or evil be accomplished.

Likes: Stews, keeping the longest known journal ever made, not tripping for a while.
Dislikes: Tripping constantly, being mistaken for a natural agent of some particular force or entity.

I figure he could teach whatever you need, but I've had this character bouncing in my head for a while, and I figure that as a teacher he'd do well. Mostly since he could remain unfazed in the face of ultimate annihilation, using the opportunity just to see what would happen.

No problem. Like I said, it's difficult to cause any type of lasting damage to Rufus, and he knows to hold back. I think he might also know some tricks on healing wounds, though it probably depends on the situation.

I'm still going through all of this to see what he could teach. Is diplomacy and interpersonal skills taken yet? (at least for the non-empaths).

Lol. I didn't actually mean that I was requiring registry. The course is mostly for how to deal with situations when telepathy won't get you very far. After all, what's the point in doing anything if everybody has the wrong idea about you? Or if they have the right idea, but you want them to have the wrong idea? This is the class for that.

Need to get your hero properly deputized to make all arrests legal and proper? This class will teach you how.

Need to con your way out of jail? Hell, why not? Rufus isn't aligned with anybody, he'll teach you the importance of conversation.

Dude, your technique needs a little refinement. I know a guy who works for the banks, doing security on their IT equipment (both the hardware and the software--he's really quite good with computers) and if you think they keep all their computers in one spot, and don't have back-ups, you're not thinking very well. (Also, bubble memory isn't made out of silicon--that, in fact, is why it's not in common use today: it's too big.)

It's an initial proposal-we'll work out the details as we research. Location isn't an issue-everyone's going to have a variety of systems, some of which Lucus can effect, others which will be teleported to the nearest active volcano.

She is a soldier, cop, and government-blessed Guardian of all things kosher -- of course she knows the rules off the top of her head. They were pounded into her in her initial training.

The heroes are not enslaved, they are known to the Federation should a bad situation ever arise. Most of the time, this involves troublemaker empowered.

For the Silver Age(1956-1968), I'm using Marvel, again assuming their heroes aged and are largely retired-Reed Richards would be eighty-something if he aged like a human being, while the Human Torch and Spider-man would both be in their fifties.

I haven't mentioned specific cases, etc-only used various heroes to illustrate other points-and by placing them all safely in the past, they can be used as examples rather than mentors/ancestors/etc.-though those options are available for anyone who wants to use them as such, though I would draw the line at the first person who comes forth with "After killing the Fantastic Four/the Avengers/Batman/Superman, ..."

Okay, before I post my character, I'd like to run a concept by the thread owner. I want my character to be an antagonist, certainly. And there is this one power I'd like him to have. It's called Molecular Absorption. Basically, he sucks everything out of an intended target through skin-to-skin contact. Life force, DNA/RNA, memories, and most importantly, powers. Of course, in keeping with the threads rules, he'd still only have access to two powers at a time. And he has to kill to get more.

So...would that be okay?

I'd suggest softening it to something like Marvel's Rogue-you get everything, the target is KO'ed while you have the powers, certain powerful minds could take over-but largely that's because the way the forum is set up, the target determines the effect-which means no one will let you touch them.

Arthur probably absorbed some other mind reader's power sometime before his poisoning.

Actually, one of Superman's nemeses, The Parasite, has a similar power. He absorbs others' abilities through touch. The longer he holds on, the more power he absorbs. If he holds on too long, most often, the victim dies. Once he lets go, the powers he absorbs start to fade.

Of course, if the victim is too powerful, it overloads him and he is injured. Superman is one such person--it can kill The Parasite to try to absorb too much of Superman's power.

While I'm saving the full exposition for a later post when it's convenient for Professor Whately to render it, I'd like to explain the Marterkind. It is one of Josef Mengele's experiments, an amoeboid entity that absorbs the abilities of whatever it's eaten. Since it's largely a sac of digestive fluids, it constantly forms and absorbs temporary body parts to perform whatever functions it deems necessary. It's not intelligent, as it ingests brain matter as well as other body parts needed for whatever it requires.
This particular Marterkind was given a steady diet of Jewish psychics, mystics, and telepaths, and is surrounded by an aura of madness-Professor Whately will explain further as he becomes aware of the situation...

so, can energy attacks be effective against it? i would think so, as energy (electricity) harms phys. matter...

the energy attacks mathieu uses are more akin to starfire's from TT, that is, concentrated energy. what you describe would be more like a steady electric current.

thus, my attack is using said-concentrated energy. it is still semi-organic, right? so a medical laser would still harm/cauterize it...i think.

Given the fact that students may invoke similar energies, the system probably requires a sentient action to kick it in gear-I'd also assume the station's material would be resistant to such attacks, but the text-in which the Spincter blasts a sealed door open-indicates otherwise. Time will tell...

also, to explain, imagine a bubble, or field, around the marterkind that is shooting energy beams inward at the marterkind/mass.

Since I'm not retconning DS's unleashing a highly explosive chemical onto your energy field, I'm going to state you're keeping it contained, but not go back over that whole thing, as detonating a large portion of the station doesn't seem a good idea.

Anna recieved word of a "Superhero School" through the internet (courtesy of a school computer brought in by teachers from Rechburg), she recieved official clearance to enroll, her tuition being covered by the State in exchange for a contractual obligation to use her new skills in service to the Sudovan People upon her graduation.

Abilities(maximum is two):The ability to command/communicate with the recently dead (requires the body), postmortem regeneration(takes about a day).

weakness: Anna has a hard time healing from injuries (she has to die to do it quickly, a quality tested when her family tried to put her back.) Anna has shown a distinct difficulty in her regeneration when wounded by Holly, an allergy to Holly, and a tendency to scar from wounds inflicted by weapons made of cold forged or leaded iron. It is suspected that she can be killed once-and-for-all, however the means as yet are unclear. (She's been burned, suffocated, stabbed, shot, chopped into a fine mist-which took weeks to recover from, blown up, hanged, and dismembered brutally, also poisoned, drowned, nerve-gassed, exposed to radiation...)

Alignment(Hero/Villian/Vigilante): Wants to be a hero.

I'm not the GM, but here some of my assumptions (don't take for granted)

@Sudova: There's very common, it's not a demand, but I think you would find it more fun with something that isn't already sorta done

@Orinon: I expect you're gonna be good, and you're also sort of on the border-line for niche taken (I think there's two of us who already have similar abilities). But he takes awhile to confirm people.

Similarily, does Orinon's character manipulate atomic energies, or generate them as well? Having to carry around fissionables to have something to manipulate strikes me as...inconvenient.

He can generate energy, but he hasnt got the hang of it yet (I.E He could try to make a ball of light and end up destorying a building). As for manipulating them, he can use almost any form of atomic energy, even light.

Sounds similar to mine. My person is similar, but with electricity instead of atomic energies. He converts his cells into electricity (or vice-versa) and manipulates it. Advantages to this is he can travel through electrical objects, but if he moves his whole body at once, he'll overload the system

Since she's effectively making the corpse talk, I'd say right at this stage of her development, maybe up to a couple of weeks-she hasn't really worked very hard learning those aspects, and the testing she went through back home was more on the lines of "Okay, she came back after X hours when we exposed her to the Ebola virus." They were more interested in the whole "I kill you but you come back" thing (and charting the speed of her postmortem regeneration.)

Anna's ability there doesn't let her "regenerate" per-se while she's still technically alive. (i.e. you'd have to unplug the heart-lung machine before she can do it-if she's "alive" she's stuck in "Normal human rates" mode.)

The rest of her abilities are basically un-tapped potentials-she's conversed (and obtained testimony) from recently deceased folks up to about two weeks-this was something she discovered on her own. She was able to force them to tell her the truth simply by demanding it as well-and it was caught on tape. (It's very, very, lonely in a morgue.) She may be able to get them to do other things, but until she figures out HOW, she's pretty much limited to conversation and questioning.

There was another, different ability I thought about when I was conceiving the character...but I suspect it would be too disgusting (though the line "...because raw brains taste like ass" is funny.) Digestive knowledge transfer. (I eat your brain, I know what you knew). I elected NOT to use that one.

Um, no... actually I read a lot of John Ringo,Tom Kratman, Terry Pratchett, Keith Laumer, Jerry Pournelle, Robert Heinlein, Larry Niven, Stephen King, and SOME Neil Gaiman. I never really spent much time reading Lumley-though he did have a short story about a Ghoul I rather liked quite a lot...

Your powers read a bit like Lumley's Necroscope-and I believe in the first book, there was a Soviet necromancer who did the brains bit-or extracted the secrets of the Dead via necrophilia-it was rather discusting and put me off reading past the first book, though my brother was a fan and kept me up-to-date on it.

when i say Atomic Energy manipulation, I mean ALL of the Atomic energys, including the bonds between the atoms. If he wanted to, he could negate the bonds between atoms, though it would almost knock him out.
