Don't forget a naval battle in the channel thats holding up any naval support. :rolleyes: Though, he still has his cannon and alot of troops that could just storm it if there aren't that many troops.

The only way there could be more than 1,000 men is if your army from far to the south magicly passed mine without being seen. 1 day was taken up getting to the beach and unloading, then marching inland. 1 day was taken up reaching the first village. half a day was taken up reaching the fortess. So if your army got there in three days, then they are supermen.

But my army started marching as soon as you were spotted not as soon as you landed. If it took one day to unload 15,000 men then your troops are the supermen considering it took the British 3 days to unload 10,000 in 1807.

And, as I said, even if you win, there's still no chance of victory in the war as a whole.

plus guns which have to lowered onto special barges which you won't have as you were planning to attack a port initially plus horses which have to be brought in one to a boat plus three people to stop them getting frightened.

Plus if my Frigate signalled shore as soon as you were spotted, I could have had over a week's warning before you even reached the first port

Actually, they've been using cannister since Napoloenic times but thank you, I knew grapeshot game into it somewhere, though I used it only for a few moments. And as for the carbines...this is 1750...plus the attackers were using them too so any advantage i may have gained was negated.

You know it would take weeks, if not months to march 25,000 men to a port, board them on ships, sail them all the way up to Britanny then march them to any battlefield? By which stage you may have lost anything between 5-10% of your forces to disease on cramped troop ships.

well i'm in allied territory. there is no way i could sail them from N. africa all the way to brittany. I've got the Med. Fleet bottled up in gibraltar. my naval vessels would be open to any attack.

You can come up through Rhone if you want, but it would be hard to supply that. I already am pushing myself with a large military that can't go far without hurting supply lines. You would have to supply alot of it yourself. Though I don't know if it would be worth it. By the time you get up there, I would have probably conquered it. Stopping 75,000 troops that are already on land is harder then 15,000 coming into heavily defended beaches, so it would end up probably in my favor. And because with my fleets everywhere, he won't be able to send a large amount of people through without taking massive casualties from my ships. Your fleet would be greatly appreciated though. My ships will be sailing over to help.

I have 30 in the entire Med. I'll give you 20 and keep the other 10 (5 men-o-war, 5 frigates) in Southern France. Those 20 would allow you to do more. Thanks for the 15 ships! Those are going to be needed because Calendrandia's forts are getting to be a pain. I need a little more extra muscle to take him out.

Oh and you can post your med. campaign in the Brittany page. It essentially the same battle.

Also, could you pull Alemmania into the fight, since he's an ally? If we all attack Lorraine, he is sure to lose. Then we can all get some new land. And SS will be forced to surrender when our full naval might is sent upon him!

Better. You need more ships that are faster and able to respond to crisis along your extended coastline, rather than large doddering old M-o-W's that take months to get to the crisis only to find it long over.

Brigs don't do very well in the north and baltic sea's they're better in the mediterreanean. You could buy some Frigates though

If Calendrandia really wants to keep Gibraltar (as he is doing) he has to have alot of his 250 ship fleet there. I have 250 ships as well and 220 of them are attacking Calendrandia. He doesn't have much left. I don't really care how you work out your med. things, but if you interfere with the Brittany invasion, it will set off alot of bad things. SS has a pretty big navy too (biggest) so he would be a bastard to have to fight against. Not saying what you should do, just giving a little advice.

Mostly because I don't own Brittany. :rolleyes: Also, France and the lowlands in this time period had far more people than Britain. It was the world wars and loss of the lowlands earlier which made France and Britain have a more equal population. I also think I still need to fix mine up because of my largeness, but since I transfered to -Lorraine-, I can't change it, I will jsut copy and paste it. I also just have more space. But to dig in would have taken hours which, unless your opponent also fast forwards his side of the battle by hours, means that you have just dug defences while he stood and watched you. Then sprung his trap.

Well, what you don't see is the British volley which, at close range, could have done more damage than all those french volleys combined. Like in the Patriot where the Americans get their arses kicked because they fired too early and too high.
