On her way back to the mess hall, Firna stopped for a moment to admire the view on a screen. When she joined Wolf and the women, she mentioned "it looks nice out there."

Yuko smiled hearing this conversation as she stood with Wolf. She was wearing her usual kimono being Neo Kirisuban but being a good wife to Wolf (and the other wives) she tried to divide her time as equally as she could.

Not easy with two babies even if they had two Persai babysitters.

Yuko returned a bow in the custom of her people and gently replied "Firna san, I come from the Neo Kirisuban star system.

It means 'helpful child' ".

She was used to meeting new people given her old job in the Kirisuban exploration fleet. how she'd met Wolf in the first place.

The use of the word "san" was enough for Firna to figure out what kind of culture Yuko was from. She decided it would be polite to bow too.

"That's a nice name. In my language it would be something like Anfirqisanna - daughter who does beautiful work for a person. My own name means feminine beauty."

She held out her hand to let it land on it, then showed the bird to Mary. "What do you think of that?"

Yuko led the way into the tea room. An oasis of relaxation and a chance to stop on the tour. Like most Neo-Kirisuban's she knew about tea and the tea ceremony. This was something she could serve out herself to honour her husband, their guest and the family she was now part of.

So once they'd taken a seat round one of the larger tables Yuko brought back a tray and a pot of tea ready to pour it.

"A trade guild. Interesting. The only large organizations we have are the religions, and the Council combining them."

Firna looked around the room, then at Yuko, and chose the greeting that seemed most appropriate to her. She pressed her hands together. "Namasté (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namaste), friends."

ooc yes, she's ready to pour... but fwiw NK might be planning to make her trip and spill the tea

Yuko felt very secure on her feet and although used to a smaller tea set which didn't have handles on the cups didn't mess this up.

She poured a cup each starting with Firna before moving onto Wolf. Each movement was graceful and showed of her slender wrists.

Isan tea usually needed milk which was another thing everybody could add themselves as they wanted it.

Lastly she poured for herself and took her seat just as gracefully. Honour was satisfied again.

Firna admired Yuko's elegant movements. For a moment she wondered if Yuko was like the three empresses she had got to know on a more intimate level, then pushed away the thought.

She took a sip of her tea and was shocked to find it was hot. What was this? Some kind of test of gracefulness? Just in case it was, she kept a straight face and put the cup back on the table.
"This drink is new to me. I wonder if my human ancestors used to drink hot liquids, many of them lived in a climate colder than anything Fir!n has."

Yuko chuckled seeing the children. She loved having them around and one of those tigers was hers.

She sipped her tea still holding that happy thought. She also looked extremely comfortable in the chair. She'd adjusted to life in the Imperial family well and Imperial business even got her home on occasion.

Firna was a little disappointed the kids ran of before she could fold the sheets "back" into monsters.

"I'm used to teaching by doing..." Firna giggled. "But from what I've seen we're just like you. Except we hybrids lay eggs. Usually three or four at a time. When they hatch, they still fit in your hand ... so cute ... but right after hatching they can already catch their own food. After a year they are the same size as a human one year old, and from then on they grow just like humans. Their social development follows the same pattern as that of humans, too.

Firna picked up the datapad, read it, then told some more about her own species. "It takes two weeks for the eggs to grow, and a month until they hatch. In principle we could have them every month, but I've never heard of anyone with more than eight children. Some of us don't have children at all. We couldn't let our numbers grow too much, because..." Firna stopped for a second, and sighed. "Because only our home planet is really suitable for us. Some cannot be away for more than a year, others a few years at most. If we don't go home, we die. We don't understand why, it seems to be something with our brains, cause we get really depressed when it becomes time to go home." She sighed again. "Anyway, I love kids. We all do. I sometimes look after those of friends when I'm not busy with... other things."

Firna walked past the swimwear section just shaking her head. She thought wearing clothes while swimming was very silly (even though many others on Fir!n did that).

After some looking around, she found black gloves of the type she had talked about. They had a nice silver floral pattern on them too. Next, she looked for a matching dress, and found a tight and short shiny silver one. This was going well. A black string wasn't difficult to find either. What else? Oh, shoes... She found a pair of black boots that went up to above her knees and that had the highest heels she had ever seen. She asked the shopkeeper if she could get them with laces in the same bright green color as her hair instead of black ones. She could. Of course these shoes would look better without the stockings Sky had wished for, but Firna didn't think Sky would mind. But then again, why not give Sky what she wanted as well... That meant a second set.

Dark red high heels, black stockings, a somewhat less short dress in the same color as the heels, and a ... (ooc wth are those things for making ponytails called in English?), also in the same color. Perfect. And another string, just to be sure.

Firna asked the shopkeeper to hold on to her selection of clothes for a moment and sneaked out to buy dark red lipstick with silver glitter in a different shop she had noticed nearby.

Firna remembered something about "polis" meaning "city" and "terra" meaning "Earth", the name probably was a somewhat strange combination of "terra" and "necropolis". She didn't mention this, though, because she was still ashamed about not recognizing Yuko's native language until Yuko had made it extremely obvious by calling her "Firna san". Someone who wanted to become second level was supposed to speak many languages without any difficulty. Also, she simply didn't want to annoy Yuko.
