As you are all well aware, the situation in Blacktopia is becoming increasingly dire. The FREF surrendered shortly after noon today, and was immediately followed by the Blacktopian garrison of that city. The Volzgradian war machine is now turning upon the Oseatoan Army units raiding Stargaria. They are fighting well, but they are badly outnumbered. We are in imminent danger of losing this war. We do still have one more powerful card to play: this task force. Blacktopia is an island, and modern war is utterly dependent upon keeping your army supplied an providing them with air support. For the communists, all of this is dependent on the Volzgradian Navy. If the UCVN is removed from the equation, we will be able to blockade their supplies and wrest control of the skies. Their armies would die on the vine. That, then, is our objective. The situation is in our favor for this battle. We have a numerical advantage, we know exactly where they are, and they are restricted in their movements by the need to support their ground forces. Those of you who know your history will remember that Nagumo at Midway was defeated in large part because he was similarly restricted. Further, the air defenses of Stargaria have been crippled by Oseato, meaning the ships must rely on their own missiles and aircraft to defend themselves.

The plan is simple: we will sail east during the coming night, and then hit the UCVN at dawn with everything we can muster. This strategy is being adopted because a carrier duel is tactically more like a old west shootout than modern ground war. The is no terrain to aid the defender, nothing to hide behind. The battle usually goes to whoever lands the first solid hit, and we are going to do everything we can to hit first and hardest. The BDAC Combined Fleet is carrying 750 aircraft. The initial strike will be composed of more than 400 aircraft, supplemented by a barrage of cruise missiles fired from our cruisers and destroyers. We will follow up the attack and fight off enemy counterattacks as many times an necessary.

We will be aided by an Air Force strike in the early morning hours. That will do additional damage to the Stargaria defenses, increase enemy fatigue, and hopefully damage some ships.

A further note to pilots: I am sure you are aware of the generous terms granted to the FREF by Volzgrad. In light of this, anyone who fires on enemy chutes or men in the water I will drum out of the service personally. They have proven to be an honorable enemy, all too rare in this day and age, and will be treated as such.

This is the best shot that a free Blacktopia has left. Good luck to you all.

"CRITIC traffic from BDAC Naval Command, Admiral" said the operations officer. Toland read over the message from the BDAC Naval commander, Admiral Landry.

"Recall our aircraft, tell the Air Force to stand down for the moment, we'll need to conserve our planes for the strike on the UCVN. Admiral Landry is right, we have to cripple their fleet if we are to defeat them. Keep one of the Squadrons aloft as to establish a CAP over the fleet. Load the rest with Harpoons and Sidewinders" commanded Toland. The Army would have to hold on a little longer.

South of Stargaria

The Volzgradien force was now nearing the Oseatan lines. Despite moderate bombardment from Paladins and enemy field guns, the Volzgradiens were taking only small casualties. The incredibly armored VT-95s could easily absorb the shell of an M1A2, but the tanks' reactive armor was beginning to peel away under such heavy fire. While the Oseatan infantry were fairly well defended in their entrenchments, their vehicles were just as exposed as the Volzgradiens.

Up above, almost directly on top of the Oseatan line, the three Aerofrigates rained deadly accurate automatic fire upon the helpless Oseatans. They would have most likely called for aid from the Lunarosa airfield, which was one of the reasons the Volzgradiens always had a few squadrons on standby. While SAM units were not as numerous as they were before the first Oseatan attack, there were still a fairly large amount of them well hidden and entrenched in the rubble of Stargaria and even in the trenches.

Of all branches however, none were quite as important as the artillery. All throughout the day and even now during the attack, the artillery and field guns pounded the Oseatans with relentless abandon. While much more rare, several more flights of recently resupplied T-160s dropped massive amounts of napalm in hopes of demoralizing the Oseatans. While the utter annihilation of the Oseatan force was a good option, making them surrender like the FREF in Pretopia would be wonderful.

It was for this reason that this message was broadcast to the Oseatans. "Brave warriors of Oseato, you have fought well. But don't you see that this battle and in fact the war you cannot win? We are honorable opponents, and if you lay down your arms, we promise that you will be sent home safely. Wouldn't you rather be home with your families and loved ones rather then fighting for a people that you hardly know? We implore all Oseatan soldiers to see reason and cease their hostilities."

"Who does these guys think we are?" asked Grueder of his troops. "Surrender!? We've have not yet begun to fight!" The Oseaton troops were far from demoralized though they had been pounded by artillery for several hours. While their tanks hadn't really been effective against the more heavily armored VT-95s they had been effective against the T-77's. But the Abrams had to find cover and that was only possible if the Oseatons fell back to their second defensive line 2 miles south. there they would be offered the protection of a thick grove of trees. A smoke barrage fired by elements of the Oseaton artillery provided some cover as the units in the front line fell back. Several tanks and Bradley IFVs cut on their smoke generators to further obscure their fall back.

The Paladins not firing the smoke screen were busying themselves firing scatterable mine fields to slow down the Volzgradien advance. Once done they fell back a bit more and prepared to unleash yet another barrage on the advancing Volzgradien troops.

"Smoke!? Dammit! All units, halt! I want enough napalm and white phosphorous to turn those woods into a fireplace! I repeat, I need some napalm and white phosphorous to be dropped on those woods. No one advance until the smoke clears." screamed the recently arrived Colonel Kabanov. The 7th Infantry (Kabanov's unit) had just arrived after the battle of Pretopia. While the other two regiments would not arrive for some time, the 7th Infantry provided much needed numbers in this operation.

Not wasting any time, the T-160s began a massive aerial bombardment using everyone's favorite napalm. While only around half of the Volzgradien artillery could hit the new Oseatan defense line, They only needed a few white phosphorous shells to turn the whole forest into a literal oven. Fearing a counterattack or some form of booby trap in the smoke, the Volzgradiens waited patiently for the heavy gray smoke to clear.

Derbarian units sent to flank the Oseatans were now entering their attack positions. With the Oseatans about to be attacked on two sides in a burning forest, this battle would be over rather quickly. While the Aerofrigates were beginning to run low on ammunition, they still continued their bombardment right above the cowering Oseatans.

"Napalm incoming!" screamed someone off to Grueder's right. Quickly he and the veterans of his group dove into their foxholes and trenches to avoid being caught out in the open by the incoming fire. Several men were not quick enough and were caught by the great conflagration. A majority of the troops were safe in the trenches and were still being covered by the smoke barrage. The Paladins continued to drop scatterable minefields in front of the Oseaton position.

The M1A2s quickly moved into their positions, hull down and covered by dirt. This would allow them to fire from a concealed position without having to expose the rest of their tanks. Hopefully the Volzgradiens would march into the kill zone and be stopped.

As the forest burned, fifty Ka-50 attack helicopters swooped in to mop up the mess. Targeting any enemy that moved in the forest below, the Ka-50's opened fire with their 30mm cannons, as well as variety of rockets. The ones armed with AT-16 anti-tank guided missiles switched on infrared to target the enemy vehicles through the mess of smoke and fire. Another group of twenty Ka-50s arrived led by twenty five Mig-1.44 fighters and sped past the clean up job, targeting the enemy positions with rockets and heavy cannon fire. They flew in groups of three and attempted to tear up the defense line. The Mig-1.44s fired a total of fifteen radiation seeking missiles. The missiles would track any SAMs in the area and threaten them with destruction. The Mig-1.44s also dropped six 2,000 pound bombs on enemy units. The Migs also held air to air missiles in reserve, if they were needed. This was only the beginning. The rest of the army was on its way.

The aerial bombardment caught the Oseaton forces off guard. Several tanks brewed up as anti-tank missiles found their mark. Grueder commanded his troops to stay low and hidden, the mess of smoke would obscure any conventional sights while the mix of burning tanks, napalm and forest would defeat the infrared sights soon enough.

Unfortunately Grueder felt that he might have to fall back before long, they were simply up against too many enemy formations to be able to hold for long without support from their allies.

The arrival of Northern Baltic reinforcements lifted the spirits of the Volzgradiens like nothing could. With substantial reinforcements from both Northern Baltic and Volzgradien troops, many believed that now it was time to strike. With the majority of the forest and the surrounding cover burnt to a crisp, the Oseatans had much less cover then expected.

The now massive Volzgradien force charged, only to be stopped by mines. Several of the VT-95 and T-77 detonated as the magnetic mines beneath them tore great holes in their undersides. Quickly noticing the threat, several Volzgradien minesweeper vehicles were sent in. In a somewhat humorous coincidence, the Volzgradiens popped smoke to conceal the engineers' work.

With little AA capabilities, the Northern Baltic KA-50s proved to be quite powerful. All this while, recently moved up Volzgradien artillery began to pound the few remains of the forest. Unfortunately, the Aerofrigates had run out of ammo and two of the three had to return to base. One remained behind to provide accurate targeting data for the artillery. However, the Oseatans did not count on the flanking Derbarian forces.

The massive Derbarian armored and infantry force charged at the Oseatans guns blazing. With rather little defenses behind them, it would not be very difficult for the Derbarians to knock out the very vulnerable backsides of the Oseatan armor.

Although the main army group was still on its way, Ka-60 helicopters escorted by several Mig-1.44 fighters and a Il-28 converted for radar jamming duty proceeded past the Ka-52s that were still firing away with their cannons, attempting to kill the remaining enemy forces. Ropes dropped down from the Ka-60s and special forces, many of them former elite Shujunese Ultra-Nationalists, dropped down into this untouched area of the forest. The five hundred special forces units broke up into small groups. They were between the enemy and safety and they would make sure the enemy would never reach safety.

"Armor to the rear! Armor to the rear!" came the call over the tactical net. Grueder swore as the reports came in. He had to handle both the Volzgradien units and now the Deberian units to the rear.

"Alright, get on the horn to the commander of the 2nd Mech, have them cover our back, then tell 1st Mech to target those minesweeper tanks. Tell them to switch to their thermal sights." Grueder hoped he could stem the tide advancing toward him. "Get that artillery on the horn. We need a fire mission! SADARM rounds, reference point thrity six."

Several SADARM rounds came screaming in on top of the advancing minesweepers and Volzgradien tanks. The SADARM rounds released small bomblets over the target, each scanning the ground with radar for a vehicle signature. Once locked on the bomblet detonated sending armor piercing fragments into the armored vehicle's thin top armor.

Grueder nodded grimly as we watched the destruction unfold. He was sure that those artillery rounds, combined with the Oseaton armor would do the trick.

With both the Derbarians and the Northern Baltic forces behind them, the Oseatans had no chance of escaping. Artillery and napalm still pounded their position relentlessly. Up above, much appreciated KA-60s provided heavy and powerful air support for the now advancing Volzgradien force. With the majority of the mines removed, the Volzgradiens only had to take out the entrenched M1A2s.

While the mines certainly slowed down the operation, with them removed, the Volzgradiens could now charge head on. Like the attack before, the heavy VT-95s would lead the charge followed by the bulk of the T-77s and infantry. Oseatan fire was fierce and many T-77s and even VT-95 erupted in balls of fire. But the Volzgradiens were not intimidated. With two allied armies behind the Oseatans, they had no chance of escape and they were being fired on their weak backsides.

The Volzgradien tanks soon got into range of the Oseatans and let loose furious volleys of cannon fire toward them. With both tanks and artillery firing at them, the Oseatan armor would fall quickly.

Several hundred M1A2 tanks drove through the smoke and were headed east toward the flanking Debarian units. With news of a massive Blacktopian offensive coming their way, the Volzgradiens needed to be ready.

Several tanks exploded at the same time. Huge blooms of smoke and fire erupted. Grueder was frustrated. His troopers were nearly out of the area and free, but the Volzgradien planes were tearing into his forces.

After firing the F-22's went back to supercruising and closed in on the Volzgradiens. The F-22's would close in on the unprotected bombers. The latest round of fighting in Blacktopia came to end today as remnants of the Oseaton 1st Shock Army were driving back away from Stargaria with heavily casualties. The President Hamilton issued the following statement to the public following the day's events.

"Many of you have been reporting that our forces are in disarray and retreat. This simply is not the case. Yes, the 1st Shock Army has suffered at the hands of the communist forces in Blacktopia. However, our troops are consolidating with allied forces around Lunarosa. The situation is looking up, but is still in the balance. Therefore I am calling for the mobilization of the 6th Rapid Response Force and the 3rd Mechanized Brigade for immediate deployment to Blacktopia, as well as another squadron of F-22's. General Erwin Morrell, the Minister of Defense, stated that while the situation was grim looking, the land around Lunarosa was perfect for defensive operations. We here are OBN wish our troops the best of luck and hope they will return home safe.

The two teams split up (all vehicles split evenly) and headed opposite directions, Commander Franks radioed th Volgradien HQ, "This is the BSF, contacting the Volgrad HQ, come in Volzgrad. We wish to let you know we are here, it was a safe landing, Im sure you saw, would it be possible to meet to hand us documents regarding targets?"

Surprised by the Burtilanans (if that's wrong then please correct me) sudden appearance, the Volzgradien commander paused before speaking. "This is Volzgradien HQ. Your request is confirmed. "You seem suprised? We didn't want our presence intercepted!" Franks replied, (OOC: plus everyone had RPed so much further) "Our ISR units are setting up now, and will be online in five minutes, you should be able to link up to our WiFi network and send the relevant files over. Over."

The two teams had reached either end of the airfield and were seting up their ISR units, only one would have to be accessed by the Volzgradiens, it would then automatically send the files to the other unit. The two teams would split their targets up between them, making them smaller, less noticable, and create more problems for the enemy then one bigger unit.

The Volzgradien Officer smirked. "I have to say that you Burtilanans certainly know how to sneak into a country without being noticed. We have compressed all necessary mission data into one file. Once you get those ISRs online, we'll send you the files. If you require any support, then we'll try our best to provide it."

The soldiers laughed, "The ISRs are online, send them over, we shall radio you if we require any help, I think Team B shall just go off and generally wreak havoc for the capitalist pigs, that seems more fun, Team A shall focus on the real work!" replied Elle.
"thanks for that Elle!" commented Franks over the radio.

Lunarosa Military Airbase

The airbase was once again a hotbed of activity. Advanced elements of the 6th RRF were unloading their what equipment that could be ferried over on Oseaton cargo aircraft. The vehicles of the 3rd and 4th Mechanized Brigades were being loaded onto ships in Oseaton ports in preparation for deployment to Blacktopia. Luckily for the 7th and 8th Airborne Regiments most of their equipment was able to be loaded onto C-5's and C-130's for transport to Blacktopia and both regiments were nearly operational within hours. Several hundred RAH-66 Comaches being set up just as quickly as they could be flown into the country. Other aviation units for the regiments would be flow in on later flights. The Oseaton High Command felt it was more important that the firepower elements of the RRF were set up before the logistics were set up. It simply wouldn't do for the ships to dock only to realize their combat elements had no place to stage from.

The unloading process and the endless cargo flights were interupted as the 2nd squadron of F-22's arrived from Oseato. Hopefully the extra firepower would buy the Allies more time to build up their defenses.

He knew that in this and many other buildings the same ritual was taking place untill the entire street was covered with hidden snipers. It hadn't been easy getting in. In order not to arouse suspicion the all had to dress as civilians with somewhat large packages on them. command had only hoped that whoever was in the building would not notice all the people with lage boxes. And of course waiting at either end of the street were two humvees with an mg on top and many marines waiting around for anyone who looked like they might be trying to escape.

A Blacktopian commander goes out to shake a Oseatan commander's hand.

"Hello gentlemen." He said to a group of commanders standing around. "We can use all of the help that we can get. This is going to be a huge battle, with massive casualties on both sides."

Various weapon emplacements, and many anti-air missile placements were visible even in this small area. The city was packed with them. The Volzgradiens and Derbarians would no doubt attempt to capture the city, but they would wipe out a great deal of their forces doing so.

The Oseatan soldiers observed 5 Blacktopian men loading a .60 caliber machine gun from a rising platform onto the top of a nearby building. They were working on it all day. Also, the Oseatan soldiers looked to the left, as Blacktopian soldiers were polishing and preparing a large bore cannon that would fire artillery shells at the invaders.

Anti-tank weaponry and machine guns that weren't preparing yet were placed far apart in case of airraids or missile strikes. Occasionally, when driving by, Blacktopians honked their horn in celebration at the sight of the Oseatan soldiers.

Derbarian command to Volzgrad

We are preparing, but not ready for, a final assault on Lunarosa. We must be honest here, that you must expect massive amounts of casualties. Our intelligence reports cite that the city is absolutely conquerable, but it will not be the battle that Pretopia was. There are no militia in this city, generally.
We will move in from the North, where defenses are their strongest. Our men will be slaughtered, no doubt, but we will eventually capture the North of Lunarosa. We need heavy air support, and we will be providing artillery and air support also. Above all, we must keep the morale of the men high. They no doubt know what an attack on the stronghold of Lunarosa means, but we must keep their spirits high.

"We believe that you will enjoy these," said a Blacktopian soldier, leading the Oseatan commanders into a warehouse. There were tons upon tons of boxes.

"We have warehouses like this scattered throughout the city," the soldier said. He opened a box up, and inside, a familiar object was encased. It looked like an RPG-7, but different. "What is this?" asked an Oseatan commander.

"Brand new H-130 Anti-Vehicle rockets (http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg193/DashieCamel/TalonRPG.jpg)," said the Blacktopian soldier. "Corrupt Dashie infantrymen are giving them out like candy ever since the collapse of the Dashie government. We've been having them shipped in since the beginning of the war, and some time before that."
The Oseatan commander was not familiar with this brand of weapon, but was pleased with the defensive structure of Lunarosa that he saw so far.

The scream of jet engines starting up drowned out the sound of distant artillery fire. The first stealth bomber began to taxi out to the runway, then turned and lifted off into the sky. It was followed by nineteen others, who joined it in formation and flew to the southeast. The would follow a looping course to avoid detection as much as possible, then attack the air defenses of Stargaria. They had a strong advantage in that the defenses had been originally built by their Blacktopian allies, so they knew the layout.

We highly recommend that you refrain from attacking Lunarosa until the Capitalists in the South East have been eliminated. It is necessary to secure the area surrounding Stargaria before attacking Lunarosa. Once the Blacktopian and foreign armies have been crushed, then we can move onto Lunarosa. Remember, we are the siege specialists in this campaign.

If possible, it would be very appreciated if you sent some reserves to reinforce Stargaria. Be sure to have all your frontline armies dig in and prepare for a lengthy siege.

The Army Group had assembled now. Troops boarded APCs while heavy artillery and rockets took up positions. At exactly 3:33 in the morning, the artillery opened fire with a deafening barrage. Thousands of rockets and artillery shells were fired at various targets, anything of enemy importance within 30 miles was pounded by both Type 95 (800) and 2s19 (400) (2s 19 has a range of 22 miles, not 30) artillery and rockets, while anything within 56 miles was pounded only by BM-30 rockets (300) and FROG-7 missiles (500) (FROG-7s only have a range of 70 km).

The attack was broken up into three prongs of equal strength. 5,000 T-34 teletanks headed the attack of each prong. They were designed for the sole purpose of soaking up enemy mines and were each equipped with a dozer blade on the front of the tank for the purpose. Black Eagle MBTs advanced behind them, protected by Tunguska SPAAs and BTR-Ts with a ratio of 2 BTR-ts for every 1 Black Eagle MBT. 300 Ka-50s, 250 Mi-35s, and 600 Mi-28s also flew attack runs against enemy positions, while 300 Mig-1.44s provided air cover, as well as missile strike after missile strike of anti-radiation missiles which were designed to track and destroy SAM and radar sites.

Meanwhile, 50 Tu-160 bombers were making the lengthy flight from bases in The Northern Baltic to airbases to the north of Stargatia. The final battle had begun.

Those Mechanized units are coming back up to strength as well." replied Grueder. "But it does make me feel better to know what me and my men will have a serious AT capability."

"What about that RRF that is going to be joining us?" questioned Dowling.

"Heh, I really want to see how those Stryker Mobile Gun Systems perform, I mean it'll be interesting to see how they operate in this urban environment. The High Command is always talking about how these things are suppose to replace true MBTs, be nice to see if they measure up." replied Grueber.

Part II

Eve of Destruction

Vasilli, a Derbarian Army captain, was staring off into the fields of Blacktopia. Little bits of pollen were blowing up into the summer air. He also observed a bee landing on wild wheat.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" said Vasilli. A soldier next to him was reading a book.

"Hmm?" said the soldier.

"Nothing." said Vasilli.

He continued to stare off into the field. Several thoughts plagued his mind. He wondered if he would ever make it back home. He, as his men around him knew, that the assault on Lunarosa would be a massive one. Though they were laying seige to the city, this time, the Blacktopians were firing back. He could hear artillery bombs falling in the distance, likely on Derbarian artillery who were firing at Lunarosa. He wanted to get it off of his chest to somebody how he felt, but there was a "macho" standard in the Derbarian army. He knew that all of the men around him were scared, but nobody talked about it. The only things that were uttered were, "hell yeah!" and "we're going to kick ass!"

Vasilli was there for Pretopia. He took part in the first attack, which failed. His friend, Orlov, was killed by his side. He could not forget Orlov, and wanted to fight for him. However, Vasilli knew that an all out charge on Lunarosa was going to be suicidal. He had read the map - the distance that they had to push through was miles. He was surrounded by newbies. Most of these men had never seen combat in their lives, other than providing small support operations for Volzgrad.

Miles of being bombarded by artillery, missiles, and Mount Shavano airstrikes.

"Hey Geb," said Vasilli, looking toward the soldier reading the book. "What the hell are you reading?"

"Lord of the Rings."

"I would hate to be in a tank when we finally go," said Vasilli. Geb was barely listening. "You saw the intel reports. They're going to get creamed."

Geb ignored him and kept reading.

"Did you see the pictures? You're telling me that charging through bunker after bunker of "X 60's," 50 cal's, and not to mention, artillery pieces the size of the moon, that anybody is going to make it out in one piece?"

"Stoklomolvi is coming to fry them, V," said Geb. It's going to be gravy.

Attitudes like this enraged Vasilli. Nobody was taking the strike seriously. They thought that it would be like Pretopia, which was completely leveled and where Volzgrad did all of the work.

"Yes, we'll see," said Vasilli in a sickening way. He turned around, and continued to stare out into the plains, realizing for the first time how precious life really is.

The last group of Abrams was unloaded from the Oseaton Fast Sealift Ships. The last group of the 3rd Mechanized Brigade was operational. General Hammond wasted no time in activating it and creating the 1st Armored Division. He would hold the Oseaton Rapid Response Force in reserve while the 13th Airborne, 5th/6th Infantry, and 1st Armored held the front line with the Blacktopian and Allied forces.

The ORRF would respond to any sector that was in danger of collapse or being overrun. The attack chopper assets of the 7th and 8th Airborne Regiments would provide mobile fire support for anyone that needed it. General Hammond also had another plan for the ORRF. If the ORRF wasn't engaged during the battle, it would act as the spearhead unit for any counterattack that might develop.

The Oseaton forces were set for battle. Now all they could do was wait.

Volzgradien Navy

When the warning klaxons began blaring, no one was very surprised. Ever since the first air attack weeks ago, the Volzgradien Navy and Airforce was always at full alert. However, this attack seemed to be much larger then any previous ones. While most were confident of victory, many were nervous of the amount of vessels they would loose.

Radar quickly picked up a massive fleet of cruise missiles inbound. Compared to aircraft however, missiles were much easier to defend. Having much less sophisticated targeting technology then planes or AS missiles, even EMP blasts were deadly. Almost immediately, Cluster shot AM missiles were fired at the approaching BDAC cruise missiles. Large EMP shockwaves short circuited countless of the missiles as they approached defiantly. Soon, many of the missiles came within Vulcan cannon range. Wasting no time, the massive Gatling guns opened fire in massive volleys. By this time, the majority of the BDAC missiles had been turned to slag.

However, several of them hit escort vessels. Which soon turned several frigates and corvettes into burning heaps of broken steel. Volzgradien aircraft now filled the skies like bees around a hive. Ready to counterattack any BDAC air attack. Like on the previous ground battles, the Volzgradiens would wait until the BDAC had taken sufficient casualties during the attacks, then strike and crush all forces. In revenge for attacking them with cruise missiles, the Volzgradiens let loose almost four thousand anti ship missiles toward the advancing BDAC fleet.

Even the dated 16' inch guns of several of the old Dreadnoughts opened fire in a massive volley. With BDAC aircraft in range of both shipborne and ground SAMs, the Volzgradiens opened fire with ruthless efficiency. Countless SAM missiles and and even aircraft launched missiles streaked toward the advancing airfleet. Now was the time the Red Fleet sailed for victory. No matter the size or strength of the opposing navy, they would be victorious!

OOC: I've loaded out my A-6 Intruders with 4 Harpoons. I couldn't find any solid information on the load out of the A-6, even with weapon weights and maximum payload capacities. Therefore I just settled on 4.

Near the Volzgradien Fleet

The F-22's popped up from the main group and salvoed several AIM-54 Phoenixes toward the Volzgradien fighters over the fleet. The F-22's would provide fighter cover for the F-35's and A-6's while they launched their Harpoon Anti-ship missiles.

The F-35's went low, hit full military power and drove for the Volzgradien Fleet. When they got just within range they popped up and launched 2 Harpoons a piece before retreating to the cover of the F-22's.

The A-6's had double the F-35's payload each holding 4 Harpoon missiles. They rippled them off as quickly as they could while the EA-6B Prowler's jammed the Volzgradien Fleet's missile guidance radars. Unfortunately they couldn't protect the whole strike force from the Volzgradien SAMs. Several F-35's were hit when several SAMs lost guidance on the aircraft and decided to simply detonate, spraying large amounts of shrapnel into the air.

Several A-6's were swatted out of the air by the incoming missiles, but not after launching all of their own missiles. All in all, the Oseaton aircraft alone launched 192 missiles. All of them streaking toward the Volzgradien ships.

Despite fierce resistance from Volzgradien countermeasures, at least 30 of the Harpoon missiles got through. The majority struck a pair of frigates. Turning one into a flaming wreck and the other into a barely floating scrap heap. 3 of the missiles struck a Dreadnought. While the thick armor stopped 2, the last tore a great hole in the Dreadnoughts superstructure.

Screaming for vengeance, the SAM batteries fired volley after volley at the cowardly Oseatan aircraft. SU-47s came in for the kill, guns blazing and missiles firing in a deadly aerial orchestra of death and destruction.

Hopefully losing most of their aircraft before they could even begin to challenge the F-22's would keep the Volzgradiens at bay. OOC: I finally did a bit of research on the SU-47. Turns out this thing can fire 14 AA missiles!

Near the Volzgradien Fleet

"All units, break and launch chaff!" roared Captain Arnov as the SU-47s closed in with the Oseatans. This late in the conflict, almost all Volzgradien pilots knew the Oseatans air tactics. Without hesitation, the Volzgradiens followed the Captain's orders. It appeared almost like a snowstorm as the Volzgradien squadron let loose a massive amount of chaff. The majority of the Phoenix missiles veered off course and detonated harmlessly. However, several found their targets and detonated with a teeth rattling explosion. 3 SU-47s fell from the sky in a trail of smoke.

With the Phoenix missiles gone, the Volzgradiens could now fire back. "Arm your Vympel R-73 AA missiles and fire as soon as you get a lock. Once you get within range, open fire with your GSh autocannon." Arnov ordered slightly more calmly then before. A stream of R-73 missiles streaked toward the Oseatans in a fog of smoke. After a few seconds, the mighty thumps of GSh autocannons echoed in the sky.

"This is Admiral Seskov to all vessels, remain at high alert for any more missiles or air attacks. All vessels capable of firing, do so immediately. I want those BDAC ships drowning in cruise missiles!" The Admiral roared as he observed the battle from his Flagship, the aircraft carrier Novgorod. Not wanting to face the Admirals legendary wrath, the Volzgradien ships fired without remorse.

With the cruise missiles drawing enemy fire, the BDAC aircraft moved in closer and began launching missiles. The fighter screen moved to intercept the incoming SU-47s, and soon the sky was filled with flames trailing from burning aircraft. A massive first wave of anti-ship missiles was launched from the strike aircraft as they got close enough, aiming at every Volzgradian ship in sight. The BDAC Fleet had split into two sub units, with the carriers and a few escorts staying outside the range of the shorter legged missiles while continuing to launch aircraft, while most of the surface warships moved closer, and fired their missiles as fast as they could reload the launchers. The submarines that had been watching Stargaria for days were ordered in to attack, and launched torpedoes at the outermost UCVN ships.

The lead pilot in the Rodger Young fighter group maneuvered through the first wave of AAM missiles from the Volzgradian fighters and followed his in with a burst of cannon fire. As he turned his aircraft to try to bring another SU-47 into his sights, a missile he hadn't seen hit his plane. He felt both his legs break, and saw that his starboard fuel tank had caught fire. He punched the eject, but it didn't work. Well, he thought, this is it then. He turned and dove towards the nearest carrier, planning to crash into her and do as much damage as he could. He was only seconds away when shellfire tore his wing off and he spun out of control. The last thing he saw before he hit the water was a missile boring in on the same carrier. He hoped it would get through.

Several hundred miles to the north, Admiral Landry received a report that the first UCVN missiles were on final approach to the Surface Action Force right before he saw a brilliant flash on the southern horizon. He would later learn that he had seen the explosion of the destroyer SNS Cripple Creek, the first BDAC warship lost in the Naval Battle of Stargaria.

Shocked by the presence of submarines, it took the fleet several moments to respond. 1 frigate soon went down as it was struck by a flurry of torpedoes. However, anti-sub frigates and even anti-sub Aerofrigates began to launch torpedoes and depth charges at the assaulting submarines.

Despite initial estimates, several BDAC missiles struck the Novgorod. None of the missiles did particularly heavy damage, but several technicians and fighters were lost in the explosions. In a similar move to the BDAC. The Volzgradien fleet began launching missiles at an astonishing rate. With the Volzgradien fleet still somewhat bigger then the others, the BDAC would simply not be able to stop the incoming cruise missiles. Several frigates and destroyers were struck by the enemies' cruise missiles, but none sustained critical damage. With the foolish BDAC forces drawing ever nearer, the full might of the massive Volzgradien fleet would soon become apparent.

OOC: For the record, AIM-54 Phoenix missiles are fire and forget radar guided missiles, each uses their own radars to find enemy aircraft. Flares wouldn't distract them, but chaff might though.

Skies over the Volzgradien Fleet

Luckily for the retreating Oseaton fighters, the BDAC aircraft had engaged the Volzgradien SU-47's. The Oseaton aircraft deployed flares and chaff with gusto while the Prowlers attempted to step up their jamming. The F-35's turned on their afterburners and went supersonic, leaving the F-22's to escort the A-6's home.

ONS Theodore Johnston, Combined Fleet

"Sir, Viper lead reports incoming anti-ship cruise missiles have been fired from the Volzgradien Fleet!" cried the comms officer in the CIC of the Johnston.

Admiral Toland stood up immediately upon hearing the news. "Notify the escorts, tell the Aegis cruisers to fire up their SPY radars to full power. Establish a defense line of destroyers and frigates between us and the missiles and tell those planes to divert to Lunarosa, we are closed until further notice." Toland paused for a second. "And start moving us away from these missiles, get us as far away from that fleet as possible."

With all Volzgradien countermeasures and weapons online, they were now a force to be reckoned with. Cruise missile after cruise missile were fired at the advancing enemy fleet. Volzgradien aircraft now filled the skies, ready to attack any who dared threaten the fleet. Depth charges and anti-sub missiles filled the waters with subdued explosions and columns of water.

Despite taking several ships lost, the Volzgradiens were ready for anything. None of the capitol ships were in critical condition and almost all of the escort vessels were in fine condition. It would take a lot more to take the Volzgradiens down.

The somewhat battered surface action force exhausted their supply of missiles and turned back to the north, leaving several damaged or sinking stragglers in their wake. A missile had started a minor fire on San Jacinto, but she was still able to conduct flight operations. The fierce air battle around the Volzgradian navy continued. The FRAF took advantage of the distraction of UCVN air elements to launch strikes on enemy ground formations.

South of Stargaria

Both teams A and B headed south along the main route in and out of Stargaria, after about a half hours drive, the teams split off, "hopefully we have enough mines and C4 with us" said an engineer with Team B.
"I'm sure if we don't, the Volzgradiens can lend us some." replied a sniper.

Team B were to begin boobie trapping bridges and buildings inbetween allied and enemy lines, they would load them on to the ISR computers, for all allies to be aware of. The bridges had trip sensors to the side nearest the allies, so they bridges collasped as the enemy advanced over them, a couple bridges were left untouched, so to create bottlenecks for advancing soldiers, which would be easier target for aircraft and artillary alike.
Team A headed south until they were within 10 miles of an enemy airfield. They waited in woodland until nightfall. When the airfield would be the most vulnerable. They had 2 primary objectives and a secondary.
The primarys were to destroy the fuel supply lines and to damage the runway, so it could not be used, and the secondary was to destroy aircraft on the ground.
The ISR unit set up silently, with Franks and Saergent Skinner inside, they were gathering data and recent satalite shots of the first target. (OOC: whoever owns the airfields near Stargaria, can you give us details of what you have lurking there?) The M256-08 recon vehicles went in even further, their silent engines allowed for them to get extremely close to the airfield edge, without being spotted. Captains Sparks and Ani, and Privates Reynolds and Browne were in the two vehicles. "I sure hope we don't get seen! This is our first real operation in them, Im kinda nervous!" said Browne, "We will be fine, just take some pictures, let me and Sparks worry about getting seen!" Replied Ani.
Browne opened up the roof hatch and started to take pictures of what they could see, but with the overgrowth, it wasn't alot. Reynolds decided to get out and move a bit closer, past the overgrowth, her sniper rifle at the ready, just in case, she started to take pictures of the enemy craft and encampment.

Meteor Storm

Vasilli and Geb were walking a on quiet trail in the middle of the night to early morning. All of the sodiers were sleeping, except for those on guard in case if the Blacktopians attempted a charge. This was not likely, however. The real fear was guerilla forces and snipers, which were the biggest issues facing the men as they entered the jungle. V and Geb had heard stories. Entire men would wander into the jungle, and it would just eat them up. Never heard from again - no radio contact or anything. The jungle was alive.

Yet, it was so quiet. The occasional cricket could be heard, as well as some forest birds. Geb and V had their guns drawn not only for guerrillas, but for possible panther attacks. It had rained a bit during the day, but not enough to matter. The trees still had dew dripping off of them, however.

"V," said Geb.

"Yeah Geb?"

"When are we moving out?"

"Well. We've got to wait for the Volzgradiens to soften up the city first before an attack is even possible."

"V," said Geb, "What if it didn't have to happen - what if we just got lost in this jungle and never game out."

"Comrade, are you talking about deserting?"

Geb shut his mouth. Vasilli felt the same way, but where could they go?

Suddenly, light booms could be heard in the distance. It sounds closer than normal.

"Someone's getting hurt," said Vasilli. Right at this moment, a voice crackled over the radio.

"All units! This is Tango Alpha Charlie! Meteor Storm! I say again Meteor Storm!"

Meteor storm was the codename for an artillery attack. The voice crackled again, "Tango Charl-" and the voice stopped. Everything was silent now.

Vasilli and Geb ran as fast as they could back to the camp, and arrived to smoldering ruins. There was nothing left. The sleeping Derbarians, exposed to artillery fire, did not so much as get off of the ground. There were a few visible survivors, but it looked bad.

"How can we help here?" yelled Vasilli, running up to a medic attending a wounded man. He had a limb missing, and blood was spilling out of his body.

"We need to tournaqet his wound!" yelled the medic. They did so, but the man died in their arms 30 minutes later.

"Vampire, Vampire!" yelled the radar operator. "We've got incoming vampires,1, 5, 10, 13, 23.....sir we're up to 50 and counting, this is going to be rough."

Toland walked over to take a look at the radar screen to get a close look. "Jes-....tell those escorts to open up as soon as they possibly can." Toland knew that the Fleet was bound to take casualties, he just hoped that the Oseaton Fleet would survive it.

Oseaton Fleet

The missiles quickly closed in on the line of Oseaton destroyers and frigates. Several of the destroyers lashed out with their anti-air missiles, downing several of the incoming cruise missiles. Next the frigates joined in. Several more of the missiles dropped from the scope. The cruisers then opened with, launching slavo after salvo of AA missiles at the incoming missiles.

The inbound missile count was going down but not fast enough. Soon enough the CIWS on board the escort ships opened up. The guns sounded like ripping canvas. On board the ONS Gaston the CIWS detected atleast 5 missiles headed toward the frigate. It engaged the first two, striking them down. The third one came streaking in fast, but the CIWS hit it at the last moment. Unfortunately the computer controlling CIWS couldn't distinguish which missile to engage first, sending the computer into reboot and thus not engaging either missile. The captain realized what was going on and ordered the chaff rockets deployed. But by then it was too late. The two anti-ship missiles slammed into the bridge and midships, gutting the frigate. Rapidly burning, the Gaston began to list. Out of the 176 men on board the frigate, less than 40 made it off the ship alive.

More chaff rockets were launched in an effort to draw off the missiles. Some took the bait and flew harmlessly past the ships. Others still headed for the remaining ships.

Another two frigates were hit and sunk, as was a destroyer. Several more were damaged. Finally only a few missiles remained. Only a few missiles made it through the picket line. All of them headed right toward the ONS Johnston and her escort ONS Oseato City. The Oseato City fired off all of her remaining AA missile reserves hitting 3 missiles. Only 3 more remained.

ONS Theodore Johnston

"The last 3 are inbound sir." said the radar officer.

Toland paced back and forth. The CIC had been sealed so that if a missile struck the ship, the CIC wouldn't be damaged unless hit directly. He felt trapped, unable to defend himself against the impending missile strikes.

Suddenly the CIWS on the Oseato City opened up, splashing the missile that was tracking on it. The other two missiles tracked the large carrier.

"Coming within CIWS range now..." spoke the Weapons officer "engaging.." The CIWS fired. "Confirmed hit! 1 missile remaining"

The missile continued to close. More chaff rockets fired. "Missile still tracking."

The CIWS fired yet again and missed. "CIWS has missed! Missile is almost on top of us." The CIWS fired one more time and an explosion blossomed.

"The CIWS destoryed the last missiles! The scope is clear!" Toland heard. "The missile was hit just before it slammed into us. The damage is minimal!

"Tell that to the families of those men who were on those ships." spoke Toland softly. "We should never forget the sacrifice they made for us."

"Now let's push those damn communists back!" Cheering erupted in the CIC. Oseaton Forces may have been dealt a hard blow, but they were by no means out.

40 divisions of motorised Imperial Guard
25 battleship flotillas
15 raider flotillas
20 air groups - 8 superiority, 12 bomber

Each division has 10,000 men, flotillas have 10,000 men for simplicity, and groups have 10,000 men for simplicity. I have not gotten around to actually writing about my military yet.

The motorised Imperial Guard are basic Guardsmen only transported by truck or armoured car. The battleship flotillas are basically raider flotillas with a number of Kirov class battlecruisers, around ten or so, with them. The raider flotillas consist of around twenty Kotlin class destroyers, thirty Neustrashimy class frigates, and upwards of one hundred to two hundred gunboats total. This is the total number of ships, not per flotilla. Each air superiority group has two hundred Sukhoi Su-47 craft, and each bomber group has twenty Tupolev Tu-160 bombers armed with either cruise or nuclear missiles. Most bombers are armed with cruise missiles.

Logistics include hospital ships, supply ships, all the run of the barrel ships needed for an army to function. They number upwards of 1.5 million.

I was planning on lugging along some of my Type 425 Nuclear Shore Battery for use on land...it was a mighty bulky and unconventional piece of crap, but it works!

"Sir, we have confirmed that Burtilanan Specops have engaged the Oseatans. What exactly are we going to do?" asked Pvt. Stanilov as he put down the radio mouthpiece. Colonel Kabanov, despite hearing every word, simply stared at the falling rain through the window. After a few moments of silence, he replied, "Excellent, I'm sure you know what that means?" The comms-officer looked surprised for a moment before he finally remembered. Stanilov grasped the radio and tuned it to the "all units" channel. "This is Command to all units, initiate order 53! I repeat, initiate order 53!"

Despite the rather cryptic message, all Volzgradien soldiers knew what it meant. It was the code word for Operation Meteor, the complete destruction of Blacktopian and foreign troops outside of Lunarosa.

South of Stargaria

For almost every Volzgradien regiment, the order essentially meant anarchy for a few minutes. Soldiers ran left and right, gathering every piece of equipment necessary for the assault. Tanks and other motorized vehicles roared to life as their drivers started the engines and drove forward. Volzgradien artillery, which had been firing for days without end, now seemed to come down like rain on the Blacktopian positions. Volzgradien aircraft took to the skies in case of an enemy sortie and even to just bomb the hell out of the enemy. Even the Volzgradien fleet turned to high alert incase of an attack from the sea. Hopefully, the recently arrived Communist allies would aid them in their charge.

As the massive Volzgradien force neared the first Blacktopian infantry division, they noticed how poorly dug in they were. Unlike the masterpiece of trenches that the Volzgradiens took pride in, the Blacktopians only had a mud filled ditch to cower in. Heavy artillery and aerial bombardment turned the already soggy ground into nothing more then blood filled mud. The frontal force of the Volzgradien force soon came within range of the cowering Blacktopians and began to fire. Filled with confusion, poorly armed, poorly defended, and poorly led; the Blacktopians would not be much of a challenge.

Soon, the main bulk of the Volzgradien army fell down upon the dying Blacktopians like a sledgehammer on a block of ice. And just like ice, the Blacktopians would shatter...

Lunarosa Military Airbase

The security forces guarding the Oseaton planes saw the vehicles shooting up the Blacktopian aircraft as they made their way toward the Oseaton section of the base. Luckily for the Oseatons most of the fighters had been sent back to their carrier, leaving only the F-22's and some F-35's. The men quickly organized a defense and launched several AT missiles at the incoming vehicles. The commander of the security force readied the rest of his troops. The commandos wouldn't be allowed to hit the Oseaton aircraft.

Outside Lunarosa

"General Hammond, sir, we're under heavy attack, that attack on the airfield was the opening act of the attack." yelled Dowling into the radio. The sound of small arms crackled in the background. The restructured 13th Airborne was under attack from the advancing Volzgradien and Derbarian troops. Luckily the days and weeks of rest had allowed the Oseaton military to recover from the wounds inflicted on it in Stargaria and had also allowed for them to establish a defense line.

"You know what to do, Irving. As soon as the situation on the airbase is worked out you'll be getting more fixed wing support. In the mean time, your Apaches should do the trick, especially since they'll be operating within SAM range, minimal threat from Volzgradien aircraft." General Hammond said. "The President has complete confidence in you and your men. Hammond out."

"Jim, tell the artillery to stand by for a fire mission, as soon as the Volzgradien forces commit to the battle." said Dowling to his radio man.

Dowling put the radio down and walked back to the front lines. The Volzgradiens were advancing but were getting caught up in the mine fields laid out in front of the Oseaton position. Several machine guns were concealed and ready to open up. The Oseatons had learned much from attacking the Volzgradien positions in Stargaria. The trenches stretched for miles around and included anti-tank ditches. Any tanks advancing toward the position were afforded no cover and would be fully exposed to any Tom, Dick, or Harry with a AT missile. That was exactly what the Oseatons wanted.

First off, we would like to say that you're doing a hell of a job. With your help, as well as the help of Mount Shavano, we may be able to hold these communists back. It is essential, though organized rationing has kept a steady food supply in Lunarosa, that supply lines be kept open so that the Communists do not attempt to starve the city out. We have ordered 2 destroyers and a battleship, the only navy that we have left, to flock to South of Lunarosa to prevent such from happening.

While the Oseatan defenses came as a surprise to the Volzgradiens, it certainly wouldn't slow them down. Under the cover of smoke and a creeping artillery barrage, engineering vehicles were brought up to remove the mines. Anti tank ditches, while exposing, would not be much of a problem. Most Volzgradien tanks carried a dozer blade mounted on the front, so anti tank ditches could be filled in with little incident. While the prospect of charging at AT troops was somewhat frightening, the Volzgradien attack force along with the Derbarians numbered at least somewhere in the hundred thousands.

With the ever present threat of Oseatan and Mount Shavano aircraft, the Volzgradiens had not neglected to bring heavy AA defense. Several batteries of Tunguska AA tanks and regular SAM trucks accompanied the Volzgradien army. While the enemy SAMs would cause problems for the Volzgradiens, the bulk of this operation was to be formed of ground forces.

"Now call for the artillery! Tell them SADRAM barrage, we need to take out as much of their armor while they are bottled up. Tell the Javelin operators to fire once they get in range. Cmd. Le: "I want those 5 L.O.S (Artillery) behinds those hills!! 1/8 of a mile apart and the other 5 within the Base camp...."

Senior Sgt. Ky: "How about the mens Commander?" while smoking a Cigar

Le: "Make them dig trenches, surrounding the Base Camp and outward towards the LOS" Walking towards the hills and saw the open field..

"Jesus....this place will become one huge mess one day...Have those men make another trenches on the open flat field...about 1/16 mile away from the LOS from the Hills, have them deep....and get those 10 Mobile Howitzer in there."

Ky: "I think we should cancel the deployment of the remaining Artillery from Vietnam. And get those Battle tanks and hide them in the forest.....and have the remaining 20 Mobile Howitzer and deploy them in the forest, 10 each sides and 20 Marines guarding each and protected by Trenchs."

Le: "Marvelous idea Sr. Sgt. Ky......Send 5 scouts to explore...we need to know what we up against."

The Stoklomolvi divisions landed in the recently occupied city of Stargaria, where the massive numbers of motorised infantry hauled huge nuclear artillery pieces off the convoy ships. The armour was slowly unloading, though it could take days or even weeks before all of the men were unloaded due to the crowded nature of Stargaria. The Stoklomolvi navy sectors moved in from the east, and essentially attempted to form a wall directly south of Stargaria while the missile cruisers began to move in and bombard the land-based capitalist forces. Surely, the tide would turn with the massive wave of manpower.

Unfortunately for the Stoklomolvi troops, it was forgotten that the nuclear shore guns could not move; they were designed to sit on massive turntables that would be constructed months before conflict. As such, the men would be forced to use the guns' massive range to hold the city of Stargaria, if not slowly push the guns out of the city and use them as anti-ground support. S-400 Triumf launchers were based in several convoy ships, and would be used to attack any air units that neared the city. Tupolevs were unloaded in Derbarian territory, and Derbarian command was asked as to where the Tupolevs could be based.

Message to Derbarian Military Command

So we fight together once again, hm? We have brought Tupolev Tu-160 bombers for ground support, and we inquire as to where you would like them based. We were planning on using heavy napalm to take down the enemy stronghold at Lunarosa.

"I don't know what you boys did to make the Volzgradiens stop their attack, but it sure as hell did the trick." laughed General Hammond inside the command center.

"Well sir, it was Irving's idea. I had told him about how the Volzgradiens had moved against our minefields south of Stargaria and he figured that they'd do it again." informed Grueder. "It was pretty ingenious, I wouldn't have thought of a massive IED attack."

"Ha! It's just what I remember from the fighting during the July Coup back home. The loyalists tried to stop the armor columns from heading toward center city using the same kind of trap. I figured if it worked for them, it would work for us." replied Dowling. The July Coup had been a shor, but bloody affair that had resulted in a military junta taking over control of the Oseaton government. All 3 officers in the room had played one role or another in the coup.

"Well what about our minefield, now that it is blown to hell, along with those Volzgradiens?" posed Hammond.

"Well, we do have several different layers of minefields and tank traps. We're also replanting the field and reinforcing it with artillery fired mines. That should hold the Volzgradiens for a bit, now that we've destroyed their anti-mine vehicles and all. And if the happen to get through that to the next one, who is to say it won't explode in exactly the same way." Dowling grinned fiercely at that image. Following their battle in and around Stargaria, Dowling had sworn to inflict as many casualties as possible on the advancing communist troops.

Grueder nodded and then changed the subject. "What about these new troops from the Holy Imperial Democracy of Vietnam Empire?"

General Hammond paused for a moment before answering. "Well it is great to see some more troops coming into play. Those boys look like they know what they are doing. I just hope it will be enough to combat these communists."

Both of the colonels nodded at that. The reinforcements were welcome, but the Allies were still vastly outnumbered.

Derbarian and Blacktopian leaders sat across from eachother. Volzgradien and (RP your countries here if you want) leaders were moderating the discussion. This was an important one, as peace talks had just opened. The Volzgrad command, who were experienced in this type of war, realized that any attack on Lunarosa would be hopeless. Derbaria had already gotten what it went for (Oil), and it was pointless to continue fighting if it were to cost 30,000 more Derbarian lives - projected by the Derbarian command.

All Nations - This Decree Shall Open Peace Talks

SUBMITTED BY: BLACKTOPIA

THIS DOCTRINE SHALL LAY FORTH THE FOLLOWING TERMS:

A - THAT WAR ON BLACKTOPIA SHALL CEASE IMMEDIATELY, FOLLOWING THIS CEASE FIRE AGREEMENT.

B - THAT BLACKTOPIA BE DIVIDED SO THAT DERBARIA WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING CITIES: SLOVAKOGRADE, STOLOKOTOLI

C - THAT ALL OTHER CITIES BE RETURNED TO BLACTKOPIA

THIS DOCTRINE MUST BE SIGNED BY ALL PARTICIPANTS IN CONFLICT, INCLUDING THOSE WHO HAVE JUST ARRIVED. FAILURE TO HONOR THIS DOCTRINE SHALL RENDER IT NULL AND FIGHTING SHALL CONTINUE.

(OOC: The Blacktopians, defeated pretty much except for Lunarosa, are trying to get as much land back as possible. Everybody in the RP must agree with the cease fire for it to work. If one nation doesn't agree, the cease fire gets re-written.)

"Fall back," said a commander. The men marched backward, as artillery fell in a position slightly in front of the Volzgradiens. The intent was not to hit anybody, but only to prevent a Volzgradien charge.

General Pavelov sat nervously as he watched the leaders of Blacktopian and Derbaria speak to each other. Despite various requests, Pavelov would attend the talks instead of President Kavinkov. While he did not doubt the success of these talks, he was still nervous of the aftermath. In his mind, the campaign had certainly gone well. With the Volzgradiens only losing one battle, most would consider the Blacktopian conflict a huge success.

Soon, the two leaders had finished and had agreed. Without a second thought, Pavelov signed the doctrine.

A Warm Welcome

It was odd to the Derbarians, seeing the Blacktopian leader once again. He had been on the run since the war began, and they had been his hunter. It was bizarre, to say the least. He seemed rugged, with his face unshaven and his clothes dirty. He stepped to the table, and sat down.

"So... These are the agreements," he stated, passing the paper to the Derbarian President.

"I would like to have Stargaria too," stated the Derbarian President.

"Those terms are not acceptible," said the Blacktopian President.

The Derbarian President paused for a second, and knew that the document had to be signed. Lunarosa was heavily defended, despite the gigantic force about to attack it, and the bloodshed would be massive.

He grumbled for a second, and then stated, almost under his breath, "Your Terms are Acceptible."

He signed the document, slightly below the Derbarian President's signature and slightly above Pavelov's. It was a monumental sight to see. Though the Derbarians had won militarily, they had failed to transform the Derbarian government into Communists.

A response from all participating nations was anticipated.

(OOC: No way that city was going to be captured. Especially since Vietnam Empire came in with more artillery. It would have been a seige - for both sides! lol. This is what I would imagine Chess Players would call a stalemate.

Although The Federation of Oseato wished for the total restoration of the Blacktopian nation, these terms are acceptable. This war has taken a heavy toll on us, as I'm sure is true for most, if not all, of those nations participating in the conflict. We do however have one request, the establishment of a DMZ along the new border, for obvious security reasons. Oseaton forces would be willing to provide security for the Blacktopians if such an arrangement is made.

It is our most sincere hope that all countries involved may get along peacefully after this conflict. The Federation wishes no ill-harm to Volzgrad or Derbaria, or any other nations involved.

We in Volzgrad must agree with our Oseatan counterparts. All factions will be relieved with the end of this war. At Startopia, the men saw a Blacktopian man with a white flag. They knew that the war would only end when Lunarosa fell, but accepted the envoy nonetheless. The commissar in command of the forces read the message, scoffed, and ordered the men to begin moving. The rest of the forces would slowly disembark in Startopia, though the crowded nature of the city would mean that some of the men would be forced to move out. As a result, several divisions of motorised infantry drove down the coast, close enough to receive support if necessary but far enough to be unable to be bombarded.

Back at the meeting, the diplomat was unnerved.

"Bah. Defences will mean defeat."

He knew that so long as they sat in their city, and the Stoklomolvi troops could shoot down all aircraft, the men inside would eventually starve and surrender. It was only a matter of time; months, even years.

We have determined that the only way for this conflict to end is the explusion of Stoklomolvi from the region. This will only be accomplished if their forces are defeated outside of Lunarosa. We feel we alone have enough forces to defeat Stoklomolvi, but wish to ask for your assistance.

A defeat of their forces on the field of battle near Lunarosa could force them to accept the treaty. Please, lend us support and defeat the forces of Stoklomolvi so that peace may prevail.

May we suggest a different approach? The Stoklomolvi army will no doubt fall on its own sword. Their hubris is evident. Do they not know the Juggernaut that they are going up against? You are correct, however. We must push forward, and use our air power and artillery guns to drive the Stoklomolvi army back. It is important that we play on the war weariness of the Derbarians and Volzgradiens. This is key to us. Let them attack, fall victim to our merciless bombing and strafing runs, and then drive forward as their crumbled army attempts to fight back.

OOC: This will be my last post for the night, so please no godmoding while I sleep.

Lunarosa is a port city protected by several Allied navies....there will be no starving.

If, in the small chance, the Stoklomolvi army does serious damage to us, we are willing to give up Stargaria. However, we will see how this war plays out. This does not seem likely at this point.

Heavily Encrypted Message to Derbarian and Volzgradien Command

What are you thinking, surrendering your hard-earned claims to the silly Blacktopians and Oseato? Communism is unstoppable! All we have to do, comrades, is force our navies at the enemy, and blockade their city. Cut them off from all supply, and morale will plummet. Distract them with feigned disorder and disorganisation. Boost their morale, and then watch as the tower collapses. Do not let war weariness get you! With our manpower, we can bombard their silly little city. Crater their airfields, destroy their infrastructure, poison their water, offer amnesty to those who surrender, etc.

For the motherland, comrades, charge!

Agreed. If war breaks out with Stoklomolvi, then we will assist your forces. We currently have the entire area around Stargaria and the city itself under lockdown. Stoklmolvian forces are surrounded and cut off. While there have been no attacks, we are not taking any chances. NBC units have been stationed in the city while the main bulk of our forces remain outside.

To: Stoklomolvian Command

We are sorry, but we cannot allow you to do this. Your forces are currently surrounded and contained in both Stargaria and the port. We kindly ask that you forces stand down and remain peaceful. This conflict must be solved using words, not bullets.

We applaud your courage. However, we suggest that you stand down. We have captured natural resources vital to our nation. Lunarosa is not vital to our plans. However, if you agree to pull forward, we will send 5 units to assist you - 3 armored units, and 2 infantry units. If anymore were sent, we are afraid, it would cause mutiny amongst our ranks.

The military commissar in the city was saddened by his former allies' lack of resolve.

"Cowards. That's all they are. COWARDS!"

A soldier came running to him.

"Sir! They have us surrounded!"

"What of the nuclear cannons?"

"They will be ready in a few minutes, sir."

"Good. Good."

The soldier, trembling, ran back to his post. Back at sea, the Stoklomolvi navy noticed a large movement of Volzgradien ships. One of the sailors on a missile cruiser fired a warning shot over the bow of one of the Volzgradien ships, landing in the water. A Morse message was beeped to Volzgradien command.

While we commend your bravery for coming to the aid of Derbaria, we must now ask you to stand down. Every nation in Blacktopia is currently attempting to talk you down. Our fleet has blockaded Stargaria and your forces with it. Any use of nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons will warrant a full declaration of war and a complete WA investigation. There is no point in continuing this war. Stand down for the lives of both of our men.

If necessary, we will provide a substantial financial "gift" if your forces comply and return home.

"Sir! All system are operational!"

"Excellence!"

The commissar prepared to give the order to fire. If the Volzgradiens did not leave them be, then there would be hell to pay.

At sea, the Stoklomolvi navy started targeting Volzgradien ships with their missiles. Every frigate, destroyer, and battlecruiser was prepared to fire.

Back at the motorised infantry division, one truck dropped off a dozen snipers who then ran about the forest. The truck then headed back to base. The other trucks continued down the jungle, where they reached a small clearing. There, the infantry quickly pulled down a bunch of Flakvierlings and Flak 88 cannons, and immediately started assembling the cannons under the thick cover of jungle. Other infantry started constructing fake habitation units in a larger clearing, in an attempt to make the enemy waste resources.

Other missiles began to rain down around them, "haha, fools!! they are destroying their runway!" laughed Franks, the jeeps agility helped them to evade the missiles, they fired a few missiles in return as they hastily ran back through the hole they had made.

"Come in Volzgrad commanders, Come in. We suggest placing tank traps the allied side of the river we have booby trapped, nearest to Stargaria, this will then create a bottleneck, as there are only a couple bridges we have not boobytrapped. As yet the remote sensors are deactivated, we shall stay in the area and activate them if they begin to advance on Stargaria., Over"

OOC: Changed my mind. No nuclear cannons, simply because its an act of terrorism, and dozens of nations would attack you after doing that. It's not really tactically sound either. Nobody is actually near them, so you would just end up frying yourself. We can RP the cannons being there though, and destroying them, etc. if you want.

Skies over Blacktopia

Several hundred aircraft flew towards Stargaria. Several Squadrons of F-35's, two squadrons of F-22's, two squadrons of A-6 Intruders, a squadron of B-1's and two squadrons of B-52's headed for Stagaria. EA-6B Prowlers ran interference jamming fire control radars and search radars. Several of the A-6's were armed with HARM missiles ready to take out any radar that attempted to track the planes in order to fire SAMs.

"Lightning Lead to all Lightning elements. Prepare to launch against the targets. Be advised these targets will go nuclear. So after bomb release kick the burners and get out. If you need fuel we have tankers up to help you out. B-52's will stay out of range and will launch against the targets only if the initial strike fails. Good luck and good hunting."

All of the strike pilots readied their weaponry and put their laser designators on the target and punched in the GPS coordinates. All the nuclear cannons had been painted by the aircraft. A hail of JDAMs and JSOWs rained down from the sky and hurdled toward the cannons. All in all the amount of explosives used could easily have destroyed the whole city of Stargaria. Dropped on such precise targets, the bombs would completely destroy anything on the targets.

It was easy to find the targets due to their elevated levels of radiation. No amount of fake buildings could disguise the true locations of the cannons. It made for easy pickings for the Oseaton aircraft.

A Divided Nation: The Future

February - 2009: A nation bitterly divided and disputed: The collapse of the Blacktopian empire was soon forgotten, and became a footnote in history mere months after its collapse. As all forces began to pull out, the progress that the Derbarians had hoped for, especially as many of their men had given their lives for the Communist transformation, would never come. Blacktopia, split in two sections a month after the treaty was signed, is still rife with militia and military violence.

Journal, dated December 23, 2010, Vasilli

Beginning as a mission to restore hope and add civility to a government that cared little about its people, in the end, it was the people that suffered. Now, Blacktopia is a cesspool, where it is impossible for civilian life to continue without daily bombings and sniper attacks. It was impossible to sustain military presence in Stargaria, so we left.

At the time, I did not find this to be a wise decision. This was our territory, that was earned with Derbarian and Blacktopian blood. Now, it was nothing but rubble and orphaned children roaming the streets. My heart has been in the wrong place, Laura (ooc: Vasilli's wife). We have done no good here. This flight pains my stomach, and I am not sure how it will be stepping foot on the homeland. Will we get a hero's welcome, or be treated as murders? My hubris hopes for one, but my conscience bets that it will be the other.

How sorry I am for what we have done. The pain we have caused. I only wish to forget. I am resigning tommorrow, Laura. We must get on with our lives. We must forget the past, and let the Blacktopians rebuild what little of a nation we have left. You asked in the last letter sent if I regretted that the Derbarian "experimental" government failed, and everybody back home was calling us failures to the Communist cause. No. I have no regrets of our failure, but only regrets for what I have done, and how I have lead young men into slaughter.

I had changed, Laura. I was bloodthirsty and arrogant until one day that I remember well. I gazed off into a field, and enjoyed what life had to offer. It was then that I realized that we were destroying life for mere ideals. This was a war of choice, and a war of stupidity. Much has happened, however. The miltias have stopped fighting. They have no problems with eachother. It is us that had a problem with - us, the invaders. Yes, we failed to establish Blacktopia as a Communist nation, and no, we will not be greeted with a hero's welcome. However, I don't care anymore. I just want to run away from it all.

God will forgive me. To hell with this country. We will start a new life.

Colonel Vasilli, 21st Infantry Regiment, Retired.
