Indeed some pilots were fools. After going for so long in Mach Speed, one tends to forget he can't move on a dime. So, nearly half of the Anagonian Fighters had been throttled into dust by the collisions before killing off thirty-four of the MiG's. At least they done their duty before death. The remaining fighters began dodging and finishing off the seven MiG's that dared to even show themselves after such a humiliating event. Even the Anagonian pilots had to admit that they didn't suffer as many losses as the Stoklomolvians did.

On the ground the company approaching had their helicopter support ready as they formed up as planned, only to find a crater of what remained of the location. They quickly regrouped, tracking foot-prints and tracks into the woods in a hunt for the kill. An AH-1 Super Cobra was sent ahead to scout for the enemy and throttle them. In a suspicion, another Cobra was sent to the hills.

The rocket batteries, upon detecting the Cobras, fired salvos of flak rockets at the high-altitude aircraft. Then, the coilguns fired 14mm "spikes" at hypersonic speeds at the Cobra helicopters. Meanwhile, the remaining men took cover and watched both the sky and the ground as the MiG Air Superiority fighters were destroyed and ploughed through trees and dirt. Around thirty fighters fused into enemy aircraft, and in doing so were destroyed, but brought down the enemy aircraft as well. A stalemate was quite possible in the air.

The first Cobra Gunship automatically tracked and returned fire with a barrage of hellfire missiles before easily avoiding the flak by flying low, the second wasn't so lucky. The second Cobra Gunship returned fire with Air-to-Ground missiles, a gun spurt, and then erupted in flames as it plummeted into the ground. Two brave men were lost in a return-fire suicide action. The first, however, met it's fate after the avoidance. A gauss cannon had been fired at both Cobra's, and the crews not used to the Post-Modern technology could only gawk as their entire aircraft was split into pieces and exploded in some kind of sci-fi slow motion action.

Two more Cobra Gunships that were stationed stayed behind, seeing the magnitude of the situation.

On the ground the Tanks split into two groups, as did the Troop Carriers. One went towards the first hotspot where the first Cobra Gunship correctly reported enemy fire. The second went towards the second hotspot where the Gunship possibly located an enemy location before reporting it returned fire and erupted in a fireball. So far they were taking this quiet, and weren't taking chances.

An M3A3 with Abrams support sneaked along the tree's to the location, followed by another with a T-80. Slowly a jagged line made form, but not visible unless you were right on top. They intended to surprise the enemy.

In the Air the remaining aircraft tried to sortie with guns, already out of missiles from the fight. A stalemate was possible, highly possible, as they twisted and turned to try and get a lock. One F-22 followed a MiG with equal footing in an attempt to fire a gun spurt that would take it down...

The coilguns, having been successful at destroying two Cobra helicopters, reoriented themselves towards the other Cobras, which were detected with the RADAR. In the sky, the planes were floating about each other attempting to ram each other due to the lack of ammunition available. Only four MiGs remained, and several Anagonian aircraft were flying about. One of the MiGs was shot down, and its burning carcass flew into the jungle and erupted into flame. The others were just floating about. Stalemate.

Down below, soldiers saw enemy troop movements via infra-red imaging. Several Imperial Guardsmen took cover behind a rather large rock, armed with stolen LAWs salvaged from the beach. They aimed their antitank weapons at the moving targets and waited. A satellite flew over Cripistan and located most of the infantry, but none of the vehicles due to the lack of a heat signature. However, the M3A3 Bradley was spotted, and the troops were warned of an impending infantry assault.

"How useful," said an Imperial Guardsman.

Orbath had now secured 5 ''states.'' In each state, a small operating base was constructed and soldiers moved in to defend the area. Engineers and medical staff rebuilt the city and provided aid to the people. Along each major road, a checkpoint was constructed. In between, throughout the grasses and forests, a large barbwire fence was constructed. UAVs flew constant patrols, using thermal imaging to detect anybody who might be trying to sneak into one of the states.

In the area east of the forward operating base, where the forces from the cargo ships had been unloaded, The troops had spread out. In a matter of days, the force had taken control of the entire peninsula. It was split into a further two states.

Orbath now held control of almost its entire claim. The issue was getting rid of the militaristic rebels that would give in. Already, small groups of them had launched small attacks on state border units but had easily been repelled, especially when air support had arrived.

The RAH-66 Commanches had swept over the entire area, noting locations of troops, possible bunkers and what appeared to be artillery emplacements. This data was matched up with a map of civilian locations. The attack was on.

2 Ohio Class submarines that had been sitting of the coast since the arrival of the first division moved in close to the coast. The launch tubes opened up and 8 Tomahawk Cruise missiles were launched into the sky. They began to come down over rebel positions, bases and artillery emplacements.

As this was happening, 2 C-78 took off from a local state base, heading over the border and preparing to strike close by rebel positions to soften them up for an attack.

The rebels could not defeat the Orbathian forces in gun battles, so they had to use new ways.

A small sedan approached a checkpoint on one of the main roads leading into one of the liberated cities. Once they were stopped, they were ordered to put their hands up. Luckily for them the the C4, and explosives under the backseat were denoated by a small button next to the gas pedal. As soon as the Orbathian guards got next to the vehicle, the explosives were detonated, causing a massive explosion.

OOC: I don't understand. I thought we were to be negotiating?

IC:
The battles raging across the isle did not evade the attention of the Errikan military authorities, who came to be concerned with the way the current situation was developing.

"This is progressing faster than we had expected."

"What should we do about this, General?"

The general leaned forward over the map, which covered the tabletop, eyeing the various indicators carefully. This map charted out all of the various intelligence that they had on the isle, from basic geography and settlement patterns to foreign troop numbers and movements. After a moment of thought, he cleared his throat.

"Bauer," he said, speaking of the officer who had thought the upcomping negotiations to be a trap, "will mobilize our second, fourth, and fifth corps to the south, securing these positions and advancing to these points. Do what you need to, of course, but try not to step on the toes of our southern neighbors, the Urcleans, or upset the negotiation process with the local militia. Such diplomatic snafus could be very hazardous to our position here.

"Richards," indicating the man who had argued with him on that idea, "will lead our third, sixth, and seventh corps northward to here. We will then begin a phased occupation of the central territory, provided the resistance is not substantial, our reinforcements arrive on time, and the negotiations do not go south."

OOC: Just thought I should clarify this. My current army organization is based upon a pretty standard western organization, at least in the names and orders of the different units, but the numbers are different, given my OCD need to organize primarily based on fives and tens rather than fours, threes, and sixes.
Squad- 10 Soldiers.
Platoon: Composed of five squads, 50 Soldiers.
Company: Composed of four platoons, 200 Soldiers.
Battalion: Composed of five companies, 1000 Soldiers.
Brigade (or group): Composed of five battalions, 5,000 Soldiers.
Division: Consists of five brigades, 25,000 Soldiers.
Corps: Consisting of two or more divisions and organic support brigades, 50,000-100,000 Soldiers.
Please note that all this data is flexible and non-binding as of right now. It should be used as a general rule unless conflicting data is supplied.

The explosion occurred, sending several soldiers bodies flying. Soldiers that had remained in the bunker rushed out, quickly securing the area. The soldiers were stabilized and a medical helicopter was called in.

After the bombardment of the rebel held areas by Orbathain soldiers, it was time to move in.

Air Calvary helicopters launched from a Wasp Class met with the helicopters already located in Orbath. They headed towards the border, flying overhead and attacking any rebel positions with guns and rockets. Afterwards, the transport helicopters hovered and the Air Calvary soldiers fast roped onto the ground, securing a position. In the dark of night, fully camouflaged, they hid among the dense foilage, waiting for the rebels to come.

Orbath:
It was night now. The rebels armed with Ak-47s and M5- Carbines, began moving through the jungle. They were now close to the Orbathian border. There were about 2,000 total in this group. There plan was to stop the Orbathian advance. They weren't sure what the Orbathian army was like, but they needed to do something. Recently, two people had bombed a checkpoint, and these troops wanted to be looked at the same way, as heroes.

The Northern Baltic supply fleet reached the area of the blockade. They were a fleet carrying medical supplies to the SCLF. They also carried 25 Mi-8 helicopters with red crosses painted on them and several dozen ambulance trucks. There were also the guns and weaponry for the helicopters hidden aboard one of the two escort ships. It was hidden well and not even the crew on the ships knew it was there. The fleet prepared to stop if ordered to and would submit to an inspection.

The soldiers had been ready. As soon as the rebels came into view, the Air Calvary soldiers opened up from their hidden positions. Troops with M-16s and M-4s fired accurate bursts at the rebels heads while machine gunners sprayed them with heavy fire. Other soldiers quickly planted claymore mines. The soldiers then through smoke grenades, masking their positions as they retreated into the woods. Air support was also called in, the Black Panther helicopters that had escorted their transports moved in, having taken up positions just inside the border.

The rebels fired back. Some were gunned down by the Orbathian troops, but the other wouldn't fall back. They threw M67 grenades filled with shrapnel, and HEs. As soon as they enemy's smoke grenades were deployed, the rebels went back to wait it out. They were dedicated to their cause, but not stupid enough to be blinded at their own will.

The grenades had been thrown but most of the troops had already pulled back. They were also well spaced out, so a grenade would do little damage. One exploded between two soldiers killing both and another exploded to the left of one, embedding bits of metal in his leg. He was dragged back by soldiers.

The plan had worked, partially. The Orbathains had managed their retreat but the Cripistans had not fallen for the trap. Not yet at least. A small group of soldiers remained as bait as the rest fell deeper into the woods, heading to the right to flank the enemy.

Meanwhile, the Black Panther helicopters neared, soldiers on the ground giving target information to them.

At the local FOB, a mop up force was prepared, convoys of trucks, tanks and IFVs heading for the fight.

There were still over 1,900 rebels left. They had become better fighters after training while Orbath took territory. The rebels were divided into smaller groups. Each group consisted of about 250 men. The group leadrers had one command to give for now, nobody advance tuntil the smoke clears. This would allow many more lives to be saved, rather than running into a mist that would decide their fate. Still, these rebels weren't identiied to be from any faction, but it was obvious that they were being supplied by one considering their weapons were pretty new.

The ships appeared at the designated beach and dropped their loading ramps. A huge assortment of medical supplies was waiting to be unloaded. Northern Baltic crews started the process, but requested assistance from the SCLF troops. Several dozen troops disembarked from the escorts. They would serve as military and medical advisers. They all were efficient in both fields.

The coilguns, having been successful at destroying two Cobra helicopters, reoriented themselves towards the other Cobras, which were detected with the RADAR. One of the MiGs was shot down, and its burning carcass flew into the jungle and erupted into flame. The others were just floating about. Stalemate.

However, the M3A3 Bradley was spotted, and the troops were warned of an impending infantry assault.

"How useful," said an Imperial Guardsman.

It was then that Codenamed Hellgate launched an initiative that would probably scare the living hell out of the Stoklomolvi. The two EA-6B Prowler's that did not engage enemy forces beforehand linked directly to Codenamed Hellgate E-2 Hawkeye, which intern linked to the Orbital Optics on the Buran. They successfully located transmission signals in the vacinity of the enemy forces and began scrambling signals with Directed EMP Pulse Emissions. The Stoklomolvi soldiers and tanks would note that their heat-vision and any other optical devices that emitted transmission, included radio, were now jammed and would look a bright pink on displays, with the radio's having a constant "tink, tink, tink" to it.

The Anagonian Ground Forces now moved in for the kill. With updated optics from orbit and directed Electronic Warfare they now had the advantage. Fifty Soldiers from the troop carriers, including thirty marines from the four M2A3 and lone M3A3 Bradley Fighting vehicles. The forces were split into two groups, Alpha and Bravo. Bravo would consist of twenty-five Soldiers, fifteen Marines, and two M2A3 Bradley's with a T-80 Tank for heavy-fire support. The second would consist of the same number. Commander Dimitri Konlov's M3A3 Bradley was to stay behind and maintain ground communications and directions. The two AH-1 Super Cobra's were directed in as any Anti-Air locking was now jammed by the E-2 Hawkeye and Electronic Warfare support.

Alpha started up the hill through the dense forest, going slow as their two M2A3's made way first. The T-80 stayed in the group to provide armored cover. Bravo started up in a forward pattern heading for the Gauss cannons. The T-80 stationed in front with the M2A3's on either side of the ground troops. All ground troops had ten Anti-Tank personnel and five Heavy Gunners. Two snipers in the groups followed on either side of their respective teams to observe and kill any targets sighted.

Dimitri watched patently as he ordered for air support. The Independence would comply as soon as the situation developed.

Dimitri then was notified of SCLF assistance. He quickly told them a huge thanks but denied help. He informed them that they now had the situation under control, and would be in touch just in case. He then again told them thanks, saying he'd rather sacrifice his men then Chripistanian's. Of course that would be a lie, but better to give an excuse then make them cannon fodder.

He was here to liberate, after all. Not dominate.

The Black Panther helicopters roared in, in a sort of dive, spraying enemies with their 30mm gun. Orbathian soldiers had marked themselves with infa-red beacons, making them distinguishable from the enemy forces. From the rocket pods issued hundreds of 5.0'' Zuni Rockets. Soon, the the tops of the trees were masked by the thick black and greyish smoke that had come up.

On the ground, Orbathain forces began their flanking. Coming up along the side, they used their night vision goggles to seek out targets. Once found, riflemen shot at them, aiming for their heads with their sights, placing the chevron around their head. Machine Guns sprayed them with heavy fire and soldiers threw smoke grenades. As they retreated, they threw grenades and a Black Panther flew overhead, spraying the area with 30mm rounds and rockets to suppress the enemy.

Orbath:

When the rebels saw the tanks, they ran. Then the helicopters. They decided to throw more grenades at the Orbathians flanking, and smoke grenades so the tanks wouldn't see them. Then, they took off a layer of clothing. They hoped that the clothing had maintained heat, to confuse the infared systems. A few hundred approximatley 200 rebels were killed by the tanks, helicopters, and Orbathian troops.

Northern Baltic:
The SCLF troops began helping the Northern Baltic troops unload the supplies. They radioed in for cargo trucks to come and get the supplies, and military transports to come pick up the men. It would take a few hours for the trip there and back, so they had plenty of time to get all the equipment unloaded.

OOC: The tanks were not actually there yet, they were on their way but we can just go along with it since they were going to arrive in this post anyway.

The troops had since retreated and once again, the grenades fell and exploded ripping up trees and plants but only a few soldiers.

In the front, as the smoke cleared, tanks pulled in, blasting the enemy with their 105mm rounds. The shrapnel from the rounds actually tore tree trunks right in half.

On the left flank, Terrier IFVs and troops trucks came, lighting up the woods with their 40mm grenade launchers, 30mm and .50 cal guns. IFVs with Dragonfire Mortars in the rear fired directly in the rebels path of retreat. However, the firing soon stopped as the smoke became too heavy. Although removing the layer of clothing had not worked, the heat coming from the smoke grenades of both sides had.

The helicopters remained overhead, blasting at the retreating rebels with their 30mm guns. There wasn't much more they could do for fear of killing their own soldiers.

"Shit! Transmissions down!"

"Use Morse code, you idiot!"

"Right!"

Hoping that using such an archaic form of communications would enable them to receive and transmit messages, the rest of the men started translating messages into Morse code in their transmitters. However, unable to send the messages, the men gave their transmitter to three soldiers in a Type 152 IFV, which then drove into the jungle. Meanwhile, even though infra-red imaging was disabled, the base was authorised to use napalm and cruise missiles if the vicinity was jammed. Hence, fifteen Tu-160 supersonic bombers were scrambled, armed with Archon P-9 Napalm explosives to the region.

Meanwhile, the Imperial Guardsmen were fighting for their lives; the enemy outnumbered them around at least 2-1, and the Guardsmen's relatively inferior weaponry held them at the disadvantage. The forty soldiers fought bravely. The Gauss guns' automatic targeting systems were disabled, and the soldiers were forced to use the hand cranks to turn the gun back and forth. The artillery, instead of aiming upwards, reoriented its guns towards the incoming tank column, which had been detected earlier. With massive shockwaves, the artillery fired 250mm HE shells at the enemy tanks. The Type 125 MBTs were faring relatively well; their reactive armour plates were mostly used, but the 160mm forward armour was able to stand most enemy projectiles. The LAW using soldiers behind the rock fired their weapons at the enemy tanks and tossed their weapons aside.

The Imperial Guardsmen were lost. The forty men would fight bravely, but they would lose the battle for sure. Soon, however, the cruise missiles would arrive at their destination, separating into small nuclear bomblets that would decimate the jungle and spread radiation across the island. As was once said by the premier of one nation long ago,
The enemy was now TRAPED!1!

“Commander Khazel,” the general began, “Your people’s assistance will be quite valued. In the short term, would it be possible for you to contact the local peoples in these areas,” indicating the areas that were currently being invaded, “to see if we can avoid messy situations in the transition? Being a Cripistani group, you would obviously have more legitimacy, as well familiarity with connections and proper customs which could be equally invaluable.”

“Additionally, we would like to begin developing our military coordination with your forces. We can provide plenty of equipment and training should you need it; we hope that you all will be able to take part in our central campaigns when the time comes.”

Southern Border of Errikan Occupation, 0600

Colonel George Bauer gazed through his binoculars. They had little military utility at this point, being that the army had just began their movements, and the proper military intelligence indicated that the nearest major settlements were not anywhere near their starting position.

Still, it was a very nice day.

“Colonel, we have authorization.”

“Excellent,” he said, lowering the binoculars and turning to the officer, “Send out the orders. We move immediately.”

“Yes, sir.”

With that, the southern campaign began.

At the other end of Errikan occupied territory in Cripistan, the northern forces under the command of Colonel Jacob Richards began their movement simultaneously, beginning the first mass expansion of the Empire’s realm in Cripistan at a single time.

"Load Sabot!"
"Sabot Up!"

Tank Commander Yurin nodded in satisfaction, looking at his information panel. He prepared to fire. "Target?"

"Target Up," replied his gunner.
"Fire!"
"On the way!"

BOOM

The T-80 Shuddered as it fired a heavy sabot round at the first Gauss cannon, the driver moving into the trees to avoid a counter-attack. The two M2A3's aimed for the troops on the ground, making a Thund, Thund, Thund, Thund sound as they fired their anti-personnel cannons. One of the M2A3's fired it's Anti-Tank missile at the first Artillery piece before covering in the forest with Alpha.

Bravo fared well also, with minimal losses they managed to make way for the enemies position. Their superior weapons and tactics had gained them a huge advantage, creating havoc with the enemy troops as they made their way up. The second T-80 had suffered a minor anti-tank hit, but managed to move on. Tank Commander Durik aimed his cannon at the second Gauss Tank.

"I want Target!"
"Target Locking," replied his gunner. Then, moments later, "Target up!"
"Load HEAT," he informed the loader.
"HEAT up!"

He nodded, making sure his panel read correctly, then with a grin he commanded the shot.

"Fire!"
"On the way!"

KAthoooom!

The T-80 shuddered madly due to the damage inflicted, but managed a good shot despite it. Bravos first M2A3 had taken heavy damage, and was now retreating. The second M2A3 came up beside the T-80 and fired its Anti-Personnel cannon at a few infantry. Then it aimed at the second Artillery and locked with a Anti-Tank missile. Shortly after, it fired, then retreated with the T-80 to flank the enemy position.

Codenamed Hellgate E-2 Hawkeye had long detected the long-range launch and had prepared assets to counter it. From the sea, the Los Angele's Class Missile Submarine fired three Tomahawk Cruise Missiles directed at the source of the launches. Afterward, the Orbital Optics kept track of the primary threat, a detected Nuclear-tipped missile. The Independence shot-launched three XF Super Starfighters to counter with Anti-Missile Missiles. They would perhaps be too late, but it would be worth a try.

Locking, they fired the long range Anti-Missile Missiles, using their Hydrogen-output Jet Engines to gain the advantage of speed.

Ceramic plates flew into the air as the enemy tank shells impacted on the explosive reactive armour plates. The Gauss tanks were quite hardy, and were designed to be hardy due to the price of the Gauss gun itself. However, even the most armoured of tanks were not invincible, and these tanks were not exceptions. Once the first layer of ERA plates were exploded, the second layer of NxRA plates were revealed, and underneath that layer was the relatively thin 120mm thick hardened steel armour.

Soldier after soldier crumpled to the floor as the anti-personnel cannons ripped through their uniforms and embedded bullets into their bodies. Assault rifles were thrown into the air, and bloody limbs fell to the ground. Antitank rifles were tossed away, and dust swarmed about as men began to run away from the lines, as ordered. One artillery cannon exploded as the ammunition storage compartment was blown to bits by the missile launched by the M2A3.

The remaining artillery continued to explode 250mm explosive shells into the jungle, and the soldiers who did not retreat hid in the jungle and tossed stielhandgranates and fired their AK-2130s. Meanwhile, another artillery cannon exploded due to a separate missile from another Bradley. The Gauss tanks remained undaunted and continued to fire the guns without delay.

Up above, the Tu-160 supersonic bombers flew overhead, dropping napalm and explosives. Soon after, a separate contingent from the same group dropped Agent Orange over any location not occupied by the Imperial Guardsmen, who were already being eliminated.

http://johnfenzel.typepad.com/john_fenzels_blog/images/napalm_1965_1.jpg

The nuclear cruise missiles, having been prepared for enemy antimissile attacks, flew overhead while emitting false infra-red signatures from a separate engine. The Starfighters, [OOC: Aircraft, I presume?] too late to stop the nuclear cruise missiles, failed to stop the bomblets. Instead, the bomblets were released, and at least thirty miniature nuclear missiles were separated from the six cruise missiles.

Back at super-dreadnought SINC Vladistov, three cruise missiles were detected to be moving across the ocean towards the ship. While one Gauss gun was able to target the cruise missile and launch a single magnetic spike at the missile, the two other missiles homed in on the super-dreadnought. One missile exploded near the bow of the ship, creating a massive black scorch mark on the deck while killing seventy crewmen. The other missile impacted on one of the three-gun turrets, obliterating it and the four men who were inside a the time. Fifteen men wandering about outside were also killed, with burned shoes and charred white gloves flying about.

OOC: Well, guess I'm bombed XD

IC:

Tank Commander Yurin aimed and fired another SABOT round at the Artillery tank, moving his own tank away from the gauss rounds in quick succession. He was an experienced commander, as was his crew, and knew the way of battle well. During the engagement he met up with Tank Commander Durik, whom which advised a retreat due to the incoming fighters and possible missile.

They did a forward retreat, keeping the T-80's heavy armor forward as it took the brunt of grenades and what seemed like possible Anti-Tank fire. Smoke grenades were shot from the side turret holders and used as cover as they returned a mile back to the M3A3 that Commander Dimitri Konlov was in.

Dimitri had ordered a hasty retreat after the failed lock on the nuclear cruise missile. In doing so he knew he would loose lives, but he had to save as many men as possible. Alpha and Bravo M2A3's gathered as many men as possible as the trucks and Bradley's moved back while returning cover fire for the men on the ground.

Two made it, with ten soldiers each. The rest were obliterated as a magnificent flash, followed by a suction, then an explosion obliterated all life within a fifty-yard(?) perimeter. The Anagonian's had lost a lot of lives then. Agent Orange and Napalm met forest with dead bodies as they burned them to a crisp, and infected the area with cancer-causing agents.

Dimitri then ordered a surprise as the dust settled. The Stoklomolvi had forgotten the two AH-1 Super Cobra's. He used this as an advantage as he sent them forward to finish the job. The first Super Cobra locked on to the remaining tanks, firing hellfire missiles at random. The Second fired Anti-Tank and used its gun turret to take out any visible infantry. They would do this several times in strafing runs to ensure that all life did not exist here, since their own Comrades ensured their lives were sacrificed.

On the Sea

Dispatched to the damaged Dreadnought was an Iowa-Class Battleship and two Cruisers, with one submarine, to finish the job. They neared the area of operations after discovering the source of the missile launch, the cruisers both firing twelve Anti-Ship missiles at any surface threats, while the Battleship went broadside and began unloading hell upon the enemy.

The submarine, a SSX-01 Hydrogen Attack Submarine, crept silently forward at a depth of 300 feet to detect any submerged threats with its passive Microwave Sonar. It would be extremely hard to spot.

LOSSES:

Bravo Company destroyed expect for escaping T-80.

Alpha company suffered heavy losses, remaining are two M2A3 Bradley's with Twenty Soldiers/Marines, and one T-80 Tank.

"Yes..." Borask said, a bit awkwardly, at the mentioning of the Commissar being an 'adviser'...

"Anyways, my nation is willing too completely relinquish the territory in exchange for one thing. 40% of the oil drilled from the field in our territory is too be marked for exportation back to the State." 'State' was the term Red Tideans formally used too refer to the Red Tide Mainland.

He continued, "We are willing to pay market prices for each barrel of oil, whatever they may be. Our primary interest here was, and has always been, the oil. In addition-as a good will sign-we are willing too donate a small sum, perhaps a million universal standard dollars, to be used too restore Cripistan's infrastructure."

Chief Governor Dunan Ruu nodded, thinking for a moment as he looked back to the Troopers. One shrugged, the other nodded, and the rest just stood at attention. He smirked, some advisers. He wanted to laugh at seeing the awkward position he put the Marshall in, but he kept himself steady. In truth, he was the Leader, and would be making the decisions involving the war anyway.

Looking back, he had a smile on his face. "I'll make you a better offer. Anagonia has no use for Oil, as we have our own supplies and use only a fraction of what it takes to supply a million cars. We will lend you the Oil, will let you pay 4$ a barrel, and allow you to have workers there." He looked at the Marshall sternly. "I will say that there will be no troops there, however. It cannot be allowed. Your workers and security can prove our intentions when it is complete." Then he smiled, "Trust me when I say that when you give back the territory, perhaps to us or the Cripistanians-" he leaned closer "-preferably us-" then leaned back "-we will be like Comrade Brethren to one another as we cooperate and, easily enough, sell you oil for dirt cheap."

He stood straight, "So what do you say to THAT offer? I would expect the million, of course, but we could assist you should you find any...difficulties in paying."

Dunan Ruu knew the ideals of the Tideans, and knew that perhaps somehow they find a way to make a loan. So he gave a way out of an International Incident, by making Anagonia pay and saying it was them.

Borask gave a slow nod, did a (rather amusing) double-take, glanced back at the Commissar... who him a curt nod. He turned back and said, "That is more then acceptable. There is, however, one difficulty..."

He paused, not knowing how too put this.

"Erm... the men we have recruited from Cripistan-" He paused, not knowing whether he wanted too go on.

As it turned out, the Commissar finished the sentence for him. Speaking in that matter-of-fact voice that the Intelligence Commissar's were infamous for.

"There is no known way to remove the Hallucagenic Control Collar," The Commissar said, "There have been tests where the collar is damaged too a extreme extent, but the results have not always resulted in the subject reverting back too normal. The result of damaging the collar's always seems too be random, sometimes the person reverts back to normal, sometimes they go insane, and sometimes they die."

The Marshal stared at his Political Commissar as if this was the most the Commissar had ever said, which was a distinct possibility.

"I see."

One of the Troopers in red armor came up, and they began talking. The troopers voice was amplified to out mode, seeming to warp his voice in the way a radio would. Though silent, some mentions of a certain type of technology were mentioned. However that's as far as it went.

Dunan turned back, and the Trooper stepped forward, looking at the Commissar. He held his gun down to represent a non-threat.

"I believe we have the capability to fix that. Republic Troopers, as we are, were raised from childhood to become warriors. We have had mistakes of our own, resembling a borderline psychotic state." He paused, letting that sink in for a moment. Then he continued, "It is my best guess that we can fix the mental state with our return methods we used to 'heal' our fallen brothers and sisters. Basically a memory wipe followed by a cortex examination. Radiation of a certain type is involved, and found to be effective in the process of rehabilitation into normal civilian life."

The trooper held his gun firmly for his next words. "However, as is my duty, I would expect that next time we enter a theater of war, you do not cower in fear behind those that cannot protect themselves. Such is a sign of weakness, which we will overuse and abuse against your populace. Considering now, of course, that you more than likely turned them into practical zombies of no use to the People."

The Trooper basically said that his Troopers now did not care for the Tidean People, or how they exposed of them. Seeing these acts in person, it was his first instinct to see all Tideans as Military Hostiles to be eliminated. Such an assumption could turn a future skirmish into a genocide, if not carefully directed.

Dunan looked from the Trooper back to the Marshall, then the Commissar. He waited, sternly standing with arms crossed, for a...proper response.

SINC Vladistov

With the decimation of the Stoklomolvi artillery platoon, high command in the super-dreadnought was swarming with activity. Men were shuffling paperwork, forms were being filled, arguments were being held, and officers were being kicked. However, when the enemy naval units were spotted, activity died down and the cogs of war fired into action.

The nine 406mm shells slammed into the side of the super-dreadnought, punching large holes through the 400mm thick armour and damaging the ammunition caches stuffed deep within the ship via shockwaves. The super-dreadnought responded with a blast of six 762mm cannons at the relatively small Iowa class ship. Gauss guns were fired at the two cruisers, while twenty Harpoon AShM were launched at the battleship. Five forward mini-guns opened fire on the cruisers, and depth charges were launched to combat any enemy submarine activity. Soon, as a precaution, two nuclear torpedoes armed with bomblets were essentially dropped into the ocean. They were propelled at amazing speeds with their propellers, and once their SONAR picked up signs of "unnatural" activity the torpedoes separated into bomblets. The bomblets, as predicted, exploded with a fierce underwater fireball that spewed water over twenty metres into the air.

You used Nukes....you just activated Anny Nukem...goodbye! :D

IC:

The Battleship fared well enough, taking one hit to its bow with a glance. The two cruisers, however, suffered greatly. The Gauss Cannons couldn't be as easily avoided as normal projectile weaponry. The first cruiser was literally split in two, exploding into hundreds of pieces and human body parts. The second cruiser took a hit to the top deck, which leveled everything, and burst into a ungodly flame.

The submarine, taking concussions from the Nuclear Explosions, nearly imploded from the intense pressure. However, one would fail to notice the precautions put into the design. No crew was lost, just some burst eardrums and bruises. One fractured leg in the Kitchen from falling equipment. In response, the Submarine loaded two Nuclear-tipped Torpedoes and engaged the enemy dreadnought. Two 10kt Nuclear Devices, delivered via torpedo, zoomed towards the dreadnought to deliver a killing blow. The submarine went to full speed to avoid the intense blast to follow.

The battleship, well away from the blast away, began firing again broadside. This time, in response to the Nuclear Devices, it fired its only Nuclear Cruise Missile at the enemy Super-Ship. Launching in the air, then streaking to the sea, a 12kt warhead zoomed to ensure destruction.

[OOC: Lulz!]

Several members of the crew laughed at the plight of the cruisers, but their jolliness would be cut short. The torpedo exploded on the bottom of the ship, literally ripping the first quarter of the super-dreadnought into pieces. The previously laughing crewmen were vaporised into radioactive dust as the nuclear mushroom exploded outwards, scorching the ocean to the point that the impact point evaporated. The bulkheads held, and only four hundred crewmen, one primary turret, five secondary turrets, sixteen AShM ports and one torpedo port were lost. The super-dreadnought reacted with one last laser-guided nuclear torpedo at the submarine. Soon after, another full broadside was fired at the battleship. Meanwhile, the nuclear cruise missile fired from the battleship was laughed at by the crew, a soon-to-be fatal mistake on their part. The point-defence systems on the super-dreadnought were active for as long as the blockade was active, and instantly one electromagnetic pulse cannon was fired at the nuclear missile. [OOC: Think Tiberian Sun EM Pulse cannon.] Soon, four magnetic spikes were fired from the Gauss guns when the missile detonated. However, the Gauss guns only tore up the plating on the nuclear missile, even though the warhead was disabled. The warhead, separated into small sections, flew at high speeds into the ship's armoured deck, killing fifteen crewmen. The rest of the crewmen quickly took the disabled nuclear missile pieces and loaded them onto a medieval catapult, and fired it at the battleship, knowing that it would probably land only half-way there.

OOC: Oh you used an ION CANNON! OOOOH! Dude, your so calling on my PMT abilities here. XD You should have taken Red Tides advice and asked not for it.

IC:

The submarine exploded as the water heaved upward, then mushroomed into a massive explosion that sucked anything nearby into oblivion. All hands lost, all souls sent to their maker. The battleship witnessed this, and evaded the EM beam by inches by some mistake of nature. Having a Nuclear Blast go off at the same time as a Beam Weapon didn't make for a direct line. The beam, warped, glanced off the battleships stern, nearly killing a clueless crewman who literally used his pants as a bathroom.

Now the only thing available to Anagonia in the battlezone, the Battleship returned fire with its still active turrets. Shortly after, one of the disabled Dreadnaughts guns blasted apart the stern gun turret, sending it to the ocean along with the gun crew. A flame erupted, quickly put out, as the Battleship nearly avoided being another static on the menu.

High above, however, with Republic Military Command keeping an eye on all battle situations, the EM Ion Cannon did not go unnoticed. Long ago had Anagonia developed and launched twelve Ion Cannon Satellites disguised as Skylab space stations. Three of them were dismantled due to inactivity, two became inoperative, and one just exploded for some unknown reason. Six remained, and one was stationed above Cripistan as a last resort weapon.

The Battleship Captain requested Ion Cannon Support after seeing the awesome display of PMT abilities by the Stoklomolvi ship. It was now time to return the favor. Orbital optics helping, the Skylab, in space, transformed the front of the structure. The four solar panels split, twisting to the side of the structure as an elongated cannon structure stretched and enlarged to compensate for the Ion Booster in the rear. Slowly, steadily, a charge came to life as the entire Satellite turned a bluish-green hue. The end of the Cannon emitted a steady tracker beam directly on the stranded and weakened Dreadnaught. After a few minutes, the beam intensified, and the Skylab jolted a huge burst of Ion Plasma that followed the beam down and hit the target, hopefully resulting in one of the most magnificent displays of Electro-Magnetic Field disruptions to date.

Dunan Ruu didn't show emotion to the fact of the Tidean's not giving a care about their citizens. He wasn't surprised, after all, since the last time they made war with each other and found out the hard way.

"A treaty will be written up, so as we may prevent ourselves and my Troopers from making sure no Citizens live to endure your Government Oppression." He came closer to the Commissar, looking him directly in the eyes. "I will tell you now that I do not approve of your way of life, but as of yet I could care less. Since our last encounter we have learned a war with you would cost us greatly."

Dunan then came face-to-face, giving a snarl. "But so help me God, if your government ever collapses, or if your nation ever sees the light of Freedom, we will be there. And I-" he gave a short nod "-will give you a quick death, just for our future treaties sake."

The Chief Governor did not move from his position, nor did he present the idea of being intimidated. He meant every word he said. If Anagonia ever detected one hint of instability, they would be there, making sure Tidea changed for the better of it's People, and not the Government.

"So, what about this treaty?" Dunan didn't move his head, just the gaze of his eyes, to the Marshal.

Had the Commissar been a Captain(one rank below a Major in the TSRT chain of command), he would have stood there unperturbed, due too the Hallucagenic Control Collar that he would surely have been outfitted with. Instead, his demeanor held until the Republic Trooper got right in his face. At that point he flinched and a look of uncomfortability came over his otherwise neutral expression.

Borask's expression also changed at that point-although it was hardly perceptible-to a combination of relief and, even less perceptibly, amusement at the fact that what he internally regarded as a 'Desk Crony' had been put in his place.

The Political Commissar, in the meantime, recovered his demeanor of neutrality after the Republic Trooper backed off, shot a short warning glance at Borask, and said nothing.

Borask then replied to Dunan, with a slightly more comfortable air, "A treaty about all of what we discussed today of course. After all, we must have it in writing... even if it is a mere formality, it might prove useful in the future over some legality issue."

That will enable you a sense of relief to our intentions, and enable us to look over any actions you should be taking now."

At that point a Trooper walked up and handed the Chief Governor a PDA. He looked it over and smiled, then looked back at the Marshal. "Just for reference, how about our two nations engage in some war games? Say, against someone we both don't like? We could probably get to know each other better."

Dunan smiled, genuinely. He handed the PDA to the Marshal describing a certain Naval buildup detected by Anagonian Satellites. The reference to the War Games, of course, was for cooperation in the impending engagement.

The RPGs shot into the sky. One helicopter was grazed on the bottom, damaged, it turned and headed for the FOB. The remaining helicopters were able to take evasive action and avoid the RPGs. The tanks halted after one exploded, destroying a tank. The infantry were ordered to halt as well, so never reached the mines. The only troops that continued forward were the two sections tailing the retreating troops. They remained hidden, stalking the enemy like a wolf.

A total of 450,000 Orbathain troops remained inside the various states. They had taken control and rebuilt bridges and other structures that had been damaged. Medical facilities had been constructed as well as aid stations. Plumbing and electricity had been restored in most places. The only two things that remained different were an absence of government or government officials or servants and large barb wire fences and border checkpoints between states. Small scale fighting occasionally occurred inside these states but was put down quickly. Most of the ''fighters'' surrendered allowing Orbathain military police the chance to question them. An official port was being constructed so that the port captured by the Orbathains could be returned.

The next thing that needed done was the capture of more land. Forces fought in the forests to the North but the South remained uncontested. Leaflets were dropped farther into Cripistan, asking the rebels to turn in weapons and gain the Orbathain Military protection and help.

Forces from several states moved south to the outlying border. Assembled was a large group, roughly 50,000 combat troops. It would be their job to press farther into Cripistan. At unit level they were assigned objectives. Satellites and UAVs provided data on rebel positions. Large Convoys took to the roads with C-78 and AH-23 Black Panthers providing CAS. 105mm Artillery pieces were brought to the border and began shelling enemy positions provided they were not close to civilians.

The beam of ions split the remaining section of the damaged super-dreadnought into two pieces, both semi-functional. Two thousand sailors were killed by the ion cannon, and captain Johannes Pachelbel mysteriously disappeared. Another 762mm cannon was obliterated, and three secondary turrets exploded. However, the heavily armoured and shielded Gauss turrets suffered little to no damage.

IC:

The Battleship was hit by the unexpected broadside from the sinking Dreadnaught. The damn thing just wouldn't die. The stern of the Iowa Class erupted in flames once again as it was critically hit. The fires were under control in about thirty minutes, all the while the Battleship leaving the area due to heavy damage. But not without leaving a present. The remaining four Tomahawk Cruise Missiles were fired at the two sections, to complete the task. The incoming cruisers were of no threat to the Anagonians, as a Task Force was again being sent to the scene.

The Battleship itself would go into one of the Mobile Drydocks for critical repairs soon. It had enough power from its hydrogen coils to just get there without going critical. Switching between normal fuel combustion and Hydrogen every thirty minutes left the Battleship limping.

Over the past few days the Anagonians had come a long way, already taking the remaining cities to account for the full Thirteen Cities that made up Preft Territory. Roads had been repaired, highways under construction again, and the Hydrogen Plant now active as it supplied the new States cities. A Congress had been set up after a General Election, and a Governor had been elected to serve the state. Already the many Military forces of the Guardians had a Chief General to represent their interests in the newly formed government. Local and State law enforcement had the same.

Hospitals were either complete or repaired, with services now available. Technology and General Supply stores were opening everywhere, with Car Lots springing up to either sell legally the new cars and trucks available or provide them per the Anagonian Initiative to the poorer families. A common site was a patrol of T-80 Tanks mixed with M2A3 Bradley fighting vehicles through the cities. They followed traffic laws and were subject to Local Law enforcement should they make illegal actions.

Everything was going smoothly. The new state of Guardia had been born.

The rebels had continued to retreat. Every 100 yards or so, a few men would throw smoke grenades to make sure they could continue their escape. Soon, they entered a village of about 500 people. They were Orbathian supporters, and the militants knew that it would be obserd for the Orbathians to attack the village and kill the villagers. The rebels seized control of the village, and waited for the Orbathian troops to arrive.

The two sections tailed the enemy. Although they couldn't always see the enemy, they followed a straight route. The soldiers saw the rebels entering the village. They called this information into the main FOB.

Orbathain commanders were unsure on what to do. If they attacked, they feared that the rebels might become desperate and use the civilians as bait. However, what the rebels did not know was that Orbathain troops were highly skilled at this type of warfare. For hours, commanders poured over maps and created a battle plan. Leaflets were dropped over the village asking civilians to remain inside.

The units from the earlier battle, including the Air Calvary units regrouped and prepared.

Convoys travelled down the road towards the village.

The rebels had recieved a info that the Orbathian troops had retreated. Their plan had worked. They decided to stay in the village. There were still about 1400 soldiers, and they would have no problem putting down any of the 474 villagers, if they decided to fight back. They now had no intention of killing any villagers, as long as they stayed in line. Still, these rebels weren't being "claimed" as any faction.

The South

The forces continued through village after village. They had expected much heavier resistance but had encountered none. Having spread the southern portion of Orbathian territory west, it was time to spread farther south.

Once gain, building and roads were rebuilt. Power, water and plumbing restored. Medical aid and food supplies were distributed. Each city state was fortified, a defended border around each.

Main FOB - Alpha

The highest Orbathain Military brass had been deep in discussion for hours. They were undecided on whether to begin asking Anagonia to help with elections and the training of troops and police. Some Generals wanted to do all they could themselves but an agreement had been made and Orbath didn't have the troops to spare. The advantage was if proper ''state'' armies were raised, Orbathain troops could begin moving out of the states and expanding. So a message was sent.

To:Anagonia

Greeting friend, we have currently established a total of 7 states firmly under our control. The people have agreed to cooperate with us and allowed us to protect them. We have rebuilt much of the areas. We are asking for you to come and assist in the building of police forces and a proper military for each state. We also believe it is safe for elections to be held. As for the military and police forces, we have had the following recovered or turned in,

10,000, AK-47 Assault Rifles
2500, AK-74 Assault Rifles
1000, Dragonov SVD Rifles
5000, RPG-7s
25, Stinger Launchers
6, 105mm Howitzers
10, T-72 Tanks
150, 5 Ton Trucks
2000 Technical Trucks

As well we have received thousands of different types of pistols, and crates of ammunition for all sorts of weapons, including weapons not found as of yet. Several truckloads of explosives and grenades. Most of the people inside of these states are untrained. A list has been provided showing past members of the old government's police and military for your reference. Each state has an FOB with which you can land at. Several hard-shacks, hundreds of tents, a FIBUA house and a range have been constructed for your use. We also offer our equipment and vehicles for use in training should you request it. Our only request is that you allow us to help with the training, to allow us the ability to cooperate seamlessly with these states military and police forces in the future. Good Luck!

PS: Should the army or police require their own equipment, we would be more than willing to provide unused equipment to these units at no cost.

After the State of Guardia had been formed, the Officer Switch Occurred. The Admiral and Commanding General all were switch out for relief duty, while the troops on the ground remained on station as per Republic Military Code. By the time the Orbathians had contacted for assistance in the Northern Rebel Hold, the military was in the mist of the switch.

The Now Commander General Greg Paladin took the information and responded quickly by assuring the Orbathians that help was on the way. Two Military Convy's of four Troops Transports, eighteen T-80 MBT's, Eight M2A3 Bradley's, and ten AH-01 Super Cobra's embarked on the journey to provide a firm presence of resolution and peace. They would take a few hours to arrive.

Then the next message came in. Orbath wanted Anagonia to train the newly created Cripistanian States to the North. Greg agreed again, responding that their new-found cooperation would continue. Twenty-Six Republic Marine Sergeants were sent out to provide all the training they needed. They would be under Orbathian control, of course. So the Orbathians would gain from Anagonia at the same time as the Cripistanians did.

The Sargeants were welcomed with open arms by the Orbathain troops. In each state, the Orbathains briefed the men on what kind of activities they would be training the new military in. They didn't want to appear in control or restrictive but Anagonia seemed to be letting Orbath do the planning. Not that it was a problem though, Orbathain commanders liked this.

Main FOB - Alpha

'Get off the fucking bus.''

''Do not stop! Do you think you are on fucking vacation, does this look like the Holiday Inn! Do I look like a goddamn vallet. The only bloody parking I'm going to be doing is parking your ass right on toilet duty, do you hear me.''

For the first 4 weeks the training would be tough. A mixture of drill, proper dress, deportment, PT and common household chores it was designed to weed out the weak and break in the strong. From the outside it would appear tough but it was actually downgraded to ensure that a sizable force would come out of the training. Each soldier was issued a uniform. For now, a plain olive drab combat uniform but upon graduation, a proper Cripistan BDU and Dress uniform would be issued. Later, they would be issued a section weapon and trained on it's use. They would also be trained in the use of grenades and RPGs.

Outline of Training

Basic - 4 Weeks (PT, 3Ds, Household Chores)

Marksman -2 Weeks - (Training with AK-47 and other section level weapon)

Basic Fighting Course - 3 Weeks - (Training in soldiering tactics)

Occupational Training - 4-8 Weeks - (Training in a specific occupation, eg, Sniper, Driver, ect. During this phase, old unused Orbathain equipment will be brought in for the soldiers to train on and use)

Any former soldier of the Cripistan government will receive 3 weeks training to learn Orbathain tactics. After graduation, they will become officers and lead the new recruits during their training.

The training is designed to teach them everything deemed completely needed. Occupational training will occur later, when the entire nation is secure.

The police force will also receive training for 2 months. The police force will be made up of mostly former officers.

After much consideration with the situation, Commanding General Greg Paladin decided to play it safe and send in a Special Forces unit. A message was sent to the Orbath Generals concerning this, with an advisory to conduct SpecOps in the same manner with locations on drop-points for a joint operation. Personally going down to the Anagonian Airfield, he hand-selected a group of eight Republic Special Operation Troopers to undertake the responsibility of safely getting the villagers out of harms way.

These troopers wore the same Soviet Trooper armor as the ones that protected the Chief Governor during his encounter with the Tidean Marshal and Commissar. Their outfit, instead of red, was pure black to match the darkness that would be their salvation. No insignia, no hammer-and-sickle. A Medic, Weapons Specialist, Explosive Specialist, Sniper, Gunner Specialist, Engineering Specialist, and two Combat Specialists were chosen and directed towards a black Mi-35 HIND E. They loaded up, with chosen weapons and kits, and prepared for the two-hour ride ahead.

The HIND would leave from the Airfield and head Northeast, then at the point of being East of the Village, proceed west to a designated drop point. The HIND would remain on station for support about five miles off, in case of emergency evac or other situation. Two Blackhawk Helicopters would be sent to relieve the HIND once its fuel became low, in about another five hours from then.

The Orbath Generals were updated, and the current Military Convoy that was now twenty minutes away was instructed to set up a perimeter around the Village to kill off any rebels or assist in the liberation of villagers. They would more than likely be called upon at a later date.

Eight men against a thousand. To a Republic SpecOp's Trooper, this would be a field day.

OOC:

Okay, I'll go more in depth later tonight. Just post your squad leaving and we'll go from there. Remember, we have that Convoy for back-up should anything happen.

The villagers were kep in a small strip of buildings. All of them. There were about 25 house. Nearly 15 in each small house. Only a single floor, with 3 rooms. The rebels had 2 men in every room of each house. 2 men were guarding the inside doors, and outside door. It was impossible for anyone to escape. Remaining soldiers would either catch up on sleep, or cook. They had a specific order of who ate when. Officers first, then the higher ranked soldiers. After the soldiers were done, children, and woman. Finally, the men of the village. The rebels didn't really know what to do after they occupied the village. So they decided to use it as a home base for now.

FOB Alpha

A light rain soaked the asphalt of the helicopter pads. A UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter sat. Inside were 12 Air Calvary soldiers. While it wasn't technically a special forces unit, the AC soldiers were trained just as well as most special forces and could carry out the same missions. Each soldier wore a coal black BDU with a black helmet. A visor on the helmet extended down, covering one eye and a night vision monocle covered the other. The soldiers checked their weapons and equipment one last time before the helicopter took off into the night.

In the South

Orbathain troops had a new mission to undergo. Three states had been secured but one thing was stopping them from securing any more land.

An old military base sat to the west. During the first stages of the rebellion, the base had been attacked and captured. It was now a rebel strong point. From here, rebels held control over the surrounding area. They were much better armed, having stolen weapons from the armory.

Orbathain commanders wanted to keep as much of the base intact as possible. Firstly, it likely still had weapons that could be used for the state militias. Secondly, it could be used as a major FOB for Orbath and a training area for future area militias.

Outside of Base

20 Blackhawk helicopters quickly inserted soldiers into the forests. They created a perimeter around the base, sealing in the enemy and sealing out outside threats.

The main gate of the base had been torn down. Instead it was replaced by the wreckage of a burnt out car and technical truck.

Snipers had lined up throughout the forest and took their shots, eliminating most of the guards along the walls.

Tanks rolled through the ''gate''. Quickly, 2 platoons of tanks headed north and south along the walls while 4 platoons rushed west. Enemies could be seen and were fired at.

IFVs came next, following in the paths of the tanks. They tore apart the enemy with their guns.

Troops trucks came next. The followed both the Tanks and IFVs, pulling along the main road and allowing troops to dismount. The soldiers eliminated any visible threats and took positions around buildings, waiting for the order to breach....

Medic------------: Octavio Gonzales (Doc Oct)
Weapons Specialist: Joel Patton (Bulldog)
Explosive Specialist: Ray Skinner (Atom)
Sniper------------: Dalton Damien Dean (Triple D)
Gunner Specialist--: Valarie Carroll (V)
Engineering Specialist: Drake Vultimir (Dragon)
Combat Specialist 1: Patrick Jeffery Clemons (Maverick)
-(Squad Lead)-
Combat Specialist 2: Lionel Whitfield (King)

IC:

The HIND landed two miles from the village, or at least where the Orbathi had given them the location of the village. Lionel Whitfield, codenamed "King", wore the same black Trooper armor as his next of Comrade. On his solid weapons pack was stored a spare Supernova Shotgun, and in his hand was a M25 HVAR. He latched back the loading mechanism for a satisfying 'click' then ordered his men out of the chopper in a file. He went first, standing beside to watch his squad make way.

First was the squads engineering specialist, Drake Vultimir. Codenamed "Dragon" for his intelligence and intensity in battle, Dragon provided the team with valuable insight on everything mechanical. He often repaired the transports they came in from, namely because they had no other way out.

Second was the squads explosive specialist, Ray Skinner. Codenamed "Atom" because of the large explosions he enjoyed doing, sometimes overdoing, he provided the team with experience and equipment in tight situations. Whenever a door or a large number of troops seemed to block them, Atom came in with a big bang to make a damn big hole.

Third was the squads medic, Octavio Gonzales. Codenamed "Doc Oct" because of his specialization and first name, he lived up to the super-villains intellect and maintained the specialization needed to patch his comrades up. Without Doc Oct, the team would have died long ago from the many bullets that came their way. He often expressed disbelief at even living this long around his squad-mates.

Fourth was the weapons specialist, Joel Patton. Codenamed "Bulldog" for the M249 SAW Light Machine Gun he always carried, and the body parts he left behind. His knowledge of all weapons, foreign and domestic, was valued mainly because he often taught his other squad mates how not to blow their shoulders off with the wrong end of the weapon.

Fifth was the Sniper, Dalton Damien Dean. Codenamed "Triple D" to allow someone a shorter name to say, D maintained a snipers accuracy from nearly a kilometer away. On one mission, Triple D was positioned in a building two miles away. With only his M82A1A .50 Caliber Special Application Scoped Rifle at his side, and knowledge of wind direction and trajectory, he managed a head shot that saved King an arm.

Sixth was the Gunner Specialist, Valarie Carroll. Codenamed "V" because of her knowledge of ancient and modern weapons, V maintained a calmness throughout any battle situation that often assisted in getting everyone out a live. She could drive any tank, any vehicle, and use any mounted weapon with ease. She held an AK-47 just because she liked it.

Seventh, and last, was the first combat specialist of the squad. Patrick Jeffery Clemons, Codenamed "Maverick" because of his rogue attitude, maintained a balance between the Psychopathic tendencies of a madman and a compassionate caring heart of a normal human being. Sometimes King could swear Maverick wasn't human at all, namely because of how he usually tore the heads off his victims if they kept trying to shoot him. This happened often, and eventually King believed he had to get bored of it. Maverick always carried with him his M4/M4A1 5.56-mm Carbine, which he called "Lover Girl".

King himself, his real name Lionel Whitfield, was the second combat specialist who's profession was leadership and maintaining order in stressful situations. He gave a quick look around, noticing it was raining heavily, and tapped his helmet for the night vision. Everyone followed suit, with closed communications. He made a hand gesture with two fingers crossed pointing in the forest. Triple D hoisted his sniper rifle, with backup SR-48 Sniper Rifle on his weapons pack just in case, and headed into the forest alone. The rest waited a few seconds, then left.

Maverick made a hand gesture with on hand above an open palm, then closed his fist while moving it around him. King responded by opening both palms and closing them together. Instantly the entire squad scattered out, but maintained a loose formation. The only thing keeping the Troopers in line contact was their heads-up display in their helmets, with indicator lights showing either Red for action, Green for Understood, or Yellow for awaiting orders.

King checked his indicator display and found them all green. Up ahead half a mile was the village, and they were heading for a liberation or bloodbath. King knew that Maverick wanted a bloodbath.

The entire squads indicator lights turned yellow, seconds later they came together in a loose huddle. The Orbathians had done a bad deed by exposing communications at this range. They were going in for the kill, the surprise, and the hunt. They didn't want to be found out too early. King looked to Maverick as he made a hand gesture, two fingers split with one flat palm down the middle. King nodded, the Trooper gesture for cut and split. Basically fall back and wait for the Orbathians to do the mistake of killing themselves, then go in to finish off.

V didn't approve. She made a hand gesture with the middle finger pointed at Maverick. Maverick placed two fingers on his heart. They both stared each other down for a few moments, Bulldog breaking the figurative silence.

He pointed towards the village, then at his communications antenna at the top of his closed helmet. He made a gesture where his mouth was, two fingers coming together and a part, then made a gesture for his weapon and patted it. King nodded in return, as did the rest of the squad. It was better to risk it than let the die. Besides, Troopers had the better weapons.

King pressed the side of his helmet and looked towards the direction of the Orbath Soldiers.

"Breaking radio silence can kill you, remember that." His voice was harsh and stern, and told that was all that needed to be said. He made a gesture and pointed towards the village. Everyone returned to the loose formations and headed for the village.

The Orbathain soldiers now approached the village. They went prone and waited. The section commander scanned the area through his infared monicole which he was able to zoom. He could see sources of heat and rebels standing around them.

Stoves or fires he thought to himself.

They would remain in that position and observe to allow them to gain more information about rebel movements and where the civilians might be.

Orbathain Secured States Red,Blue,Yellow, Purple, Lime Green.

With proper militias and police force being trained and fighting in the area becoming none it was decided that it was time for elections. Leaflets on different candidates were sent out, as well as a daily update on a newly established news station. The elections were meant to be quick, and so campaigning was limited to only two weeks. At the end of these two weeks, voting was held.

Each state now held an elected official. These officials were invited to FOB Alpha for a meeting. Although Orbath would keep with its promise and not force unification on the people, it would allow them the option of doing so.

For now, except for the military base and the village, expansion would cease.

King stopped his men at the entrance to the village, and they went prone as Triple D took up sniper position in a nearby tree, climbing up as quiet as an acrobat. Dragon knelt beside King, making a hand gesture while pointing at four men that seemed to be on patrol. V was called up to the other side of King, and they engaged their heat-vision to get an accurate analysis of the situation. King pressed two fingers to the side of his helmet as he concentrated, looking left and right. He then made a sharp motion with two fingers to the northeast for Dragon to go to the least populated area of the camp.

V was to go to most of the houses and begin to scout for civilians, placing markers as she went. Atom and Bulldog came up beside next from their previous position, and he made gestures for Atom to head for the munitions storage area for a distraction and Bulldog to head for the most populated rebel center and begin to scout for the possibility of a brute force assault.

King then called forth Maverick and Doc Oct, commanded them to stay with him, and they moved towards the village, silently creeping in a prone position between two buildings. The rain, by now, intensified. It made the effect that nothing was there, due to their pure black armor. Only a lucky person with some kind of excellent vision would be able to spot him.

OOC: No problem. Am I to assume that my forces are encountering no resistance? If they are, please post so and I will revise this post.
You are going to RP any native forces hostile to my forces in the area, right?

IC:
"Of course, Commander," he said, "We would not expect you to. Our forces can arm and equip you and your men quite effectively, and, for the long run, there is the training and such which I mentioned.

"Now, as we speak, our forces are advancing through the northern and southern wings, thus far facing minimal resistance; soon, they will advance towards one another in the center region, having effectively conquered those wings. Their mobile forces shall continue to advance, so we are sending back up to continue to occupy the areas and stabilize them. Any forces you could spare would be greatly appriciated to help pick up the slack for our third prong to advance into the center area."

" I can have about 2,000 men. Also, Im not sure if you know but the Cripstani Rebel Union has claimed territory in the center, along with the SCLF. They now have begun raging war. I don't think now is a good time to get too close. After all, borders is what caused the conflict."

The elected officials sat around a table. The table was covered in various files and folders. A man sat at the head and addressed the representatives.

''I'm General Jackson, its a pleasure to see you all here today. I have called you here for many reasons. The first being a possibility of alliances. This doesn't have to mean that you join together, though if you wish, this can be done.''

Expansion had been halted. This was for a few reasons. Extra security was being provided during the elections and now during the meeting and because, depending on the outcome, soldiers might be needed in these areas. Three more divisions were flown into Cripistan from Orbath, making the total number of combat troops over 500,000.

Village

The soldiers had waited for awhile, watching for movements. Twice, a patrol had come by. They recorded the time. The patrols came every half hour. The observed the rebels weapons. Most had little more than AKs. Vehicle were limited to mostly civilian vehicles. A couple technicals could be seen, one which appeared to have broken down. The villagers appeared to be heavily guarded. They needed to get the rebels to leave the area.

The section commander looked at his watch.

20 minutes until the next patrol

He motioned to his section to follow, and they did. He had spotted a nearby house in which he could create his distraction. Keeping their eyes out for the enemy, they crept towards the house. Upon reaching it they stacked up outside the door. Swinging it open, they quickly went room to room, clearing it and being careful not to expose themselves at the windows. The section commander posted guards at the doors and entered the kitchen. He turned on the stove and gave it a minute to heat up. He then grabbed a towel and stuck it on the element, trailing it to the curtains that hung on the wall. His aim was to create a distraction that would look natural so not to make the rebels think that their enemies were present. He motioned to his section to leave and they did, quickly scanning for rebels and moving quickly and quietly. They took up new, better covered positions just in time to see the house go up in flames.

OOC: Cripistan I need some ideas has to slight differences in states. I understand your people are mostly muslim so I was thinking it could be a matter of opinion on different ideas. Please give reasons for each of the six states. Also, can I get some resistance at the base I'm attacking?

Although, the majority of Cripistan is Muslim, there are other religions. The main difference between the 6 states is ethnicity and relgion. Each state formed, is somhow different. Three states are Arab Muslims. Another is white Christians. A third is white catholics. Also, their is a stae of Black christians.

The leaders of each of the 6 states have proposed this:

The six states have agreed to unify into two, larger states. One consisting of the 3 Arab Muslim states, and the other Black and white Christians, and the white catholics.

IC: Commander Isof looked out to sea. He then smiled. Although at least a dozen ships were blocking his view, it was the mere fact that they were present and this operation was finally on its way that made him smile.
"Commander!" a sailor saluted and nearly yelled.
The Commander was not one to be startled.
"At ease. What is it?"
"High Command just contacted us. They insist that you look the list over."
"Again? I looked it over while we were in port."
"Yes. I know sir, but they said they changed some things."
"Alright. Give me that. Let me get this over with."
The Commander glanced at the list:
900 - T-72BM
2,000 - Type 85 APCs
50,000 - Sa-7
25,000 - At-3
5,000 - RPG-7V
40,000 - Ak-103
500 - Sa-2
1,000 - Zsu-23-4
600 - D-30 Artillery Guns
125 - Mi-24 Helicopters
"Yes. Tell High Command that it seems fine. We have included plenty of ammunition for all of the weapons as well. I'm sure the SCLF are going to love their new weapons. We might want to include some bombers next time though."
"Yes,sir. I'll tell High Command."
After a quick exchange of salutes, the Sailor left.
The Commander then went back to looking at the large array of ships around him.
Less then two days until we get to fight with who we're supplying he thought.

"That is sound advise. We shall not advance to the center of the island, though we will need to take enough territory to stabilize our position.

"Perhaps we should focus on training with your forces, which would make them quite capable of not only defending local territory but also offensive action."

While Errikan military forces rolled across previously uncontrolled territory, others advanced already occupied territory. They were to develop an effective infrastructure, which could effectively serve both military and civilian needs, and they didn't have a moment to waste. With extensive experience behind them, they laid rails and pavement at breakneck speed.

Transportation would not continue to be a problem.

With the agreement made, two larger states would be formed. Three representatives from the six states would govern each, until the next elections when one representative would be elected. Proper parades were held in each state, newly trained militia marching down the streets, heads held high, brass on their uniforms shining in the sun. The Orbathains were there too. Since their arrival they had received quite a bit of respect and were invited to participate in the parade, rather than just assisting in protecting it. By the end of the day, the states would each receive a name and a flag.

Red: The Union of Armani
Blue: The Peoples Lands of Moria
(OOC: I'll update a map later. Also, I'm really bad at coming up with names so bare with me.)

Militia troops from the six states joined forces. Each states troops had been trained the same, so they unified well. The once closed borders between each state were torn down. New borders were erected, protecting the states from each other and protecting the states from the outside world. For the time being, the borders would be patrolled by a joint Orbathian-Old Cripistani force, until more units could be trained. Both states also invited Orbath to remain, until ready to leave.

With the states broken into two, their was less tension. With the elections over, troops would begin rotations on leave, something they hadn't had before. This would allow them to fully embrace the cultures of both states and enjoy themselves. This lack of tension was broken though. More forces had landed on the island and rebels were requesting aid. Orbath promised it would try to help. Military commanders asked for more soldiers to be sent from home. They got their wish. Another large naval task force carrying over 500,000 combat soldiers would be arriving in four days.

The people of the newly founded states were amazed by the recent transformation. They couldn't believe they went from living in third world lif styles, to first class( in their eyes). Cental Cripistan was also pleased by what the Orbathians did for the states, an expressed their upmost respect for their willingness to aid the Cripistanis.

The troops at the village ran to the burning house.
"What the hell is going on?" screamed the commanding officer.
Then, he grinned.
" I have an idea. Take some fuel out of the villagers cars. I want you to make a trail from that builing to these houses. When these people die, the Orbathians will be to busy cleaning up here to pursue us. It will give us plenty of time to get away."
And, so the trails of fuel were layed down. The rebels ran off, but left a few willing-to-die soldiers to make sure the villagers didn't escape. The retreating rebels ssaw flames shoot up an oil tank used for house heating exploded. Then, there were screams. They didn't go back to see what happened, but did remeber one flaw that they made. If any of their troops weren't completely burnt to a crisp, then the crest of the CRU might be seen on a uniform. They had done so well by making sure this looked like some unorganized terrorist group, and they may have just messed it up.

As the fleet moved from International waters to Cripistani waters, a message was sent to the leadership of the SCLF.
As we speak, another fleet of ours is bringing more equipment. This equipment is top of the line. We suggest you bring tank drivers and helicopter pilots. -The ILF

The ships slowed down as the country came into sight. Once they reached land, they would begin unloading. Commander Isof grabbed his AEK-971 assault rifle and headed to the Mess Room to address his troops.
"Gentlemen! Today begins a mission of great importance. The SCLF has long been under attack by Imperialist nations wishing to extinguish the flame of hope for workers worldwide. Today is the day that we push these Imperialist hoards back and take back Cripistan for the workers of Cripistan and the workers of the world!"
A chorus of cheers erupted just seconds after he finished his speech and a band began to play traditional Northern Baltic music with a slight Shujunish flair. The troops then prepared to disembark their ships and aid the SCLF.

It was now time for the most massive naval deployment in Anagonian History. With complete control over Cripistan looming over the horizon, it was time to make or break the effort to unify the landscape. The People of Cripistan would not that Anagonia had created a new State, Guardia, which they could name themselves in an election being held very soon. Thirteen cities contributed to the State, with a newly planted Hydrogen Reactor for power gifted by the Motherland of Anagonia. Anagonian Cars and Vehicles of all kinds for every kind of work or play imaginable was being shipped in, including supplies and food for stores.

Guardia was basically a nation of it's own now, matching the Empire-Province of Horsicos in the Anagonian Republic. This was definitely something to be proud of.

Three Military Airbases and ten Military Outposts had been constructed in the new state of Guardia, which engulfed all of Preft Claim (Please update!). The Outposts were being used for training the Guardian militia into a First-Class Military, and the Airbases had finished sending in troops and supplies, now making the usual shift changes of troops to and fro the Motherland. Everything was perfect, almost to perfect.

That was why the Naval History was made then. Anagonian Commander-in-Chief of Anagonian Cripistan Operations (CnC-ACO) Commanding General Greg Paladin had noticed that more nations were getting involved, and the SCLF was getting stronger. The SCLF was found to be a partial terrorist organization by the Military Police, but no operations as of yet had not been initiated or conducted to purge Cripistan of this threat. That was about to change, and soon.

Anagonia had decided long ago to let the problems of the Cripistani People solve themselves, with no interference. This was the way of things, of how it should be. So no agents were sent to make way for the purge of terrorist groups. What was done was something far more drastic, and far more effective. A Naval Blockade.

Two-Hundred Warships comprised this Blockade, nearly extending the seemingly never ending resources of the Anagonian Navy. Five Battle Fleets, Two Submarine Fleets, and One Battleship Fleet had been assigned to the blockade. The Fleets themselves were comprised of twenty-five ships, with either two Light Carriers for Marine Operations, or One Anagonia-Class Aircraft Carrier. The rest of the fleet was comprised mostly of four Battleships, eight Cruisers, four Frigates, Four Destroyers, and Five Submarines. The Submarine Fleet was comprised entirely of submarines. The Battleship fleet was stationed for Battleship-to-Battleship attacks, with Ten Battleships, Five Battlecruiser, Five Destroyers, and Five Submarines.

Two Fleets were stationed to patrol around Preft Claim territory, two around what used to be Red Tide Territory, two around Orbath Territory (not to blockade Orbathi ships of course), and Two around the other two claimed regions. The Battleship Fleet was nearest to SCLF Territory, with one Carrier Attack Fleet. The Submarine Fleet roamed around Red Tidean Territory with one Light Carrier Fleet. The rest was mainly two Carrier Attack Groups circling in random proportions with way-points and fly-overs to dare anyone to attack.

No one was allowed in, but all were allowed out. If it was a humanitarian mission, it would be allowed. If it was military, it would be stopped, boarded, and turned around. Only Orbath Ships and Cripistani Ships were let to have free reign.

Finally, Anagonia had suddenly moved its military muscle to take a firm grip of Cripistan. No one would interfere with Orbathi/Anagonian Territory runs. No one would stop the unification.

With CC firmly held by Anagonian and Orbathain troops and a local militia being raised, quite a powerful one at that, it was time for further expansion. The ''hallway'' as it was named, a long strip of land comprising of several roads that lead from both Armani and Moria to CC would be expanded. So far, the Orbathains had encountered only light resistance. The people, fearing the Greston presence had let the Orbathains through with minor conflict. With Greston gone, it was wondered if that would change. Rather than expanding north, wanting to keep a strict buffer zone between Stocklomolvi as relations with them had become shaky, mostly due to fear of Anagonia and the want to cooperate with them. Instead, the soldiers moved south, stopping at villages and securing them. The area had already been leaflet bombed so the people were not shocked when the Orbathain arrived. The expansion halted as they came towards more violent territory. It was suspected that the are held many CRU supporters. The Orbathain military had been stretched throughout these areas, many units deployed in CC until a proper militia could be formed. Everyone waited on a second naval task force which would arrive in a few days. Inside their new secured land, the same activities took place. Rebuilding and repairing damages, distributing aid and securing a border.

The mist of the early morning cloaked the lower lands, making the mountains which they sat upon seem islands rising out of the seas. The early morning cloud cover was splitting over their heads, bathing the high mountains in light and making the distant river visible beyond the mist. Only the white noise provided courtesy of the wind broke nature’s silence.

“It’s good to see you again, Colonel.”

“It’s good that our armies see one another, Colonel,” Richards responded, taking a seat in the chair beside Bauer’s. Bauer turned to look out across the plains, most of which still remained shrouded in mist while their mountaintop was bathed in light.

“So far I feel as though our forces have been somewhat wasted; we do little but move, and the scant populations we have come across have not really put up any fight,” Richards said after a brief pause. Bauer shifted back towards him.

“These turpis don’t have nearly the stomach I expected either. We may soon look fondly at those who just threw up their arms and accepted us, though. The next campaign is going to be heading into a much more populated area. These people might not be as friendly.”

“True,” Richards leaned forwards in his chair, “We are going to be one wing of a long inland advance. And have you heard who is going to be in command?”

“Attention!”

The rows of impeccably uniformed Errikan servicemen stood at attention, booted heels together, capped heads tall. Their commanding officer stepped aside, turning from them to the newly arrived commander.

The commander stepped forward wordlessly. He walked with a slow, confident stride, his hands held behind his back, his posture never faltering, as he examined the lines. It had been some time since he had led an active invasion of non-Errikan, probably hostile territory. It was good to be home.

“Sir?”

“Yes, Captain?”

“The forces are loading up, and all be loaded by 1200; additionally, the General wishes to speak with you before you are flown to the rendezvous point.”

“Thank you, Captain. Carry on.”

Following an exchange of salutes, the commander straightened the cuffs of his sleeves as he strode off to the meeting.

His solid nationalism and strong ambition had gone together well to drive his military career. Entering the military at the youngest age possible, he was just too late to fight in the Tatter War. His mother’s oldest brother was General Michael Roberts, hero of the civil war and favorite commander of the Emperor himself, and he was able to secure rapid advancement to combat command, where he proved himself very capable in the minor skirmishes of the earliest period of colonial expansion in Arterus. His first moment of major action, however, was the first invasions of the main central Arterusian continent. It was here that he proved his worth, and he was quickly promoted to Major and given command of his own legions.

A seemingly minor mission, to wipe out some tribes which had been raiding the border regions of Errikan territory turned into a near catastrophe when the hostiles – formerly believed to be minor nomadic raiders – turned out in full strength with an army of over 60 thousand. This catastrophe was turned into an overwhelming victory by Jones’s brilliant planning and near suicidal bravery, key traits for an Errikan field commander. After the battle, however, he did not immediately press forward, allowing his troops some rest, and costing him his very mission: the survivors warned the remainder of the tribes, who fled. This failing would not bring about retribution, however, due to the unexpected diplomatic situation that followed.

Throughout the proceedings of the following so-called “Operation Saving Grace (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=478941),” Jones became a military hero in the eyes of the Errikans people, just as much because foreigners who were meddling in Errikan business were condemning him as for his military achievements.

Though it was the older and more rugged Farburg, who had led defense of the Errikan walls in the brief incident with Kraven, not Jones, who became the central military leader for later Errikan expansion in Arterus, he was always able to place himself at the center of the action; he did not take part in Farburg’s southern campaigns, but this was because he was leading a protracted campaign against native rebels in the far northern Errikan Arterusian territory at the time.

His brief command of the Errikan colonization of Nuk was quite successful, but did not pan out as he had hoped, and as Africa would later for Farburg; Jones, now Colonel Thomas Jones, was given Farburg’s position in Arterus after he left for Africa, and had the misfortune of taking the job after all substantial territorial expansion in the region had ended, giving him no opportunity to further prove himself.

He had hoped to attain the rank of General, a position with immense honor in Errikan society, which would allow him great political clout, and perhaps set him to inherit his uncle’s chair on the High Military Council, a government body with power comparable to the Senate and the Emperor. But in order to attain this position which would put him so close to satisfying his ambition, he would need action.

And, in his own personal view, he would need to further expand his Fatherland. His Empire.

“Glad to see you in Cripistan, Tom.”

“Always a pleasure, my friend,” he replied, grasping the General’s hand warmly.

“You will say hello to your uncle for me?”

“I think you will see him before me; I don’t plan on leaving here soon.”

“These mohammadites shouldn’t take long for a man like you, Tom,” the General laughed, patting him on the back, “Those with the gonads to fight us seem to lack the brains to do so well. It seems Khazel is the only competent local commander on this island, and he’s on our side.

“Besides, you certainly know how to deal with savages.”

Their conversation was interrupted as the General’s phone rang. He approached his desk, picking the phone up and answering it. After several moments of speech on the other side, with few, brief questions on the part of the General, he thanked the caller and hung up.

“Change of plans, Colonel Jones. You are off to a diplomatic meeting regarding our local allies here.”

"That is great!

"Of course, the way that the imperial system works, most government power is on the local level anyway, and we can grant your people an even greater level of local autonomy. You would, of course, be under the authority of the colonial government, but, for the most part, your people would be allowed to govern yourselves. Normally, we would require that the governments of counties be republican, but if you wish to have a military regime under your control I'm sure we could make an exception, provided there were republican aspects."

OOC: Here (http://www.maj.com/gallery/Errikland/NS/Maps/cripistan_erkdetl.png) is the geographic map. Light green means temperate/savanna, dark green means jungle and/or marshland or something of the like, light brownish is desert.
This sort of conflicts with the notion that the area is more heavily populated than previously invaded areas; I suppose those areas, though more suitable for populating, was not heavily populated due to their geographic distance from the heart of the island. The rebels there fled there once the rest of the island was invaded, so that works. I guessed that the island was very big, and made the map accordingly, so I certainly hope that was not contrary to the truth.

Commanding General Greg Paladin had monitored the events as of late, and checked in with the details. Orbathi Generals were handling everything quite well. Soon enough, Cripistan would be united. And very soon, everyone on Cripistan would move out of the way.

Finishing a draft on his mobile laptop, Greg sent the plan to HQ. It was for Operation Purge.

Off the shores of the Imperial claimed lands of Errikland, the Greg had stationed One Carrier Fleet, and had diverted the Battleship Fleet off the shores to monitor the Imperial Threat. Orbath had successfully initiated diplomatic relations, but they were not to be trusted. At least in the Generals eyes.

They would barge through any Imperial fleets, and would not allow any blockades. They were to show the Imperials that Anagonia did not recognize their claim, but would tolerate their presence. On board the Battleship Sovereign, which was surrounded by other battleships of the Modified Iowa Class, a message was sent to warn the Errikland Forces not to interfere with patrols.

Anagonia was playing hardball.

Attention:

Your presence has been tolerated by our Orbathi Allies, and so shall it be to us. However, two fleets will be stationed off your shores. You will tolerate their presence for your own benefit. So long as you stay here, your claims, or any claims, shall not be recognized. Should you claim any Cripistan Territory, your claim shall be seen as an act of war. Your forces will be purged.

Play nice now. So long as you treat the Cripistani People nicely, we'll stray from obliterating you entirely.

IC:

And now it was time for the first steps in Operation Purge.

Upon instructions, Greg Paladin had ordered the beginning of the end of the now unclaimed red-tidean territories. They would soon be Anagonia's. With The new State of Guardia producing its own income, resources could be diverted elsewhere. Now with Errikland a rising threat, or possible ally, a show of force was necessary.

One Million troops had been ordered to be sent to the Tidean Border, to be claimed and recognized as Anagonian. The People would go through the same liberation and restoration as the Guardians did, and therefore become a state proud of its income and production. Already, Guardia Governing Officials had proclaimed in writing that assistance with the new state to come would be possible, and encouraged.

With this blessing from the People of Cripistan, Greg felt he was just in his actions thus far. Keeping everyone at bay had worked, and now they had room to play. And play he would.

One Light Carrier Task Force, comprising of two LHD-1 Wasp class Light Carriers, with four Battleships, six Cruisers, Four Destroyers, and four submarines was dispatched to begin the liberation of the territories. Additionally, Soviet Legion Troops from the Province-Empire of Nodea Rudav was dispatched to assist in the collar restoration that had been implemented upon thousands of Cripistani Civilians by Red Tide before-hand. This would be the easy part, taking the collars off.

The hard part would be taking care of the now anarchic conditions that existed without a governing body. It was a sad fact that some Cripistani's would be killed, and unfortunately it would happen. But the rest that didn't resist, and the rest that did lay down their arms, would be liberated proper.

So, at 1100 hours Anagonian Military Time, One Million Ground Infantry Troops, 200 M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, 100 T-90 Main Battle Tanks, 150 M1A2 Main Battle Tanks, and hundreds of other vehicles and trucks were sent into the Tidean border to a certain city. The Infantry was split, with 500,000 going one way and the rest the other. Backup would consist of the now-free Military Police and the newly attached Soviet Legion troops that would arrive to begin police business.

Then the Reconstruction, Medical, and Governing process would begin. One city at a time.

How many people could I expect would be living in Moria and Armani? I've been RPing them as being less densely populated than central areas, especially being as rebel groups retreated out the area.

When I establish ''states'' with a proper government and such, am I free to RP Orbath trading with them, taxation, weapons purchases, ect, or are you going to do that?

In my already established states, what is the main industry?

Oh, I've come up with different reasons for states to be states,

Political Ideals - Communism, Democracy, hell even Monarchy.

Economics - Farming, Fishing, Mining - Maybe surrounding areas tried to seize their industries.

Expansionist - Maybe the rebel group inside the nation wants more land.

Other Religions - Maybe a cult that has sprung up. Maybe Jews, Hindus, ect.

Leaning Towards a Certain Nation - Maybe one state likes Orbath, one likes Anagonia, one likes both, one likes niether, ect.

Warlord - Certain states wish to remain with certain warlords, while other wish to be with other warlords.

If anyone wants to use them, criticize them, tweak them or add to them go ahead.

The four Tomahawk missiles were detected by the lone radar that remained in the forward section of the sinking super-dreadnought. The five Gauss turrets, which were slowly running out of power, fired more spikes at the Tomahawk missiles. After reloading, the Gauss turrets aimed at the disappearing battleship in the distance, and fired their last round of spikes. The naval group stopped and waited for the super-dreadnought to explode, which it did after a number of minutes. The remaining three hundred sailors were standing on the sloping deck as it sunk. The secondary captain was standing on the superstructure.

"SAILORS! TONIGHT, WE DINE, IN HELL!"

The ship exploded with a fiery mushroom cloud that enveloped the area. Radiation poured from the charred remains of the super-dreadnought, while radiation troops on the shore tried to shield the Stoklomolvi zone from the radiation using odd shield-like devices. The naval group soon arrived to replace the super-dreadnought, which was scrapped using miniature lasers.

Heavily Encrypted Message to Anagonia

So, this is how it starts. We arrive in Cripistan, divide it up, and then we fight each other for the Cripistanis? What should really be happening is the outsiders not fighting against each other, but with each other against a common foe. We are weakening each other by fighting one another. The Cripistani rebels, as well as the Red Tidean infantry, are the real opposition. The Totalitarian State of Red Tide wishes to fully integrate Cripistan into the TSRT, yet here we are, squabbling over the bombardment of Webster. What are we doing here? We are here to liberate the natives from this civil war. Why fight each other? We stand undaunted.

The remaining battleship somehow heard the scream of the captain, its crew on deck and captain himself turning around to watch the mushroom cloud. The shock wave hit instantly, arching the huge battleship up, throwing crew into the water. Then the suction, then the wave of destruction. The Battleship exploded before the gauss cannons hit, surprising as it may seem. No crew survived.

With Red Tide now gone, forever, from Cripistan by our diplomatic efforts, we can concentrate on expanding and uniting the country for itself, and not others. "This is interesting," the General concluded, setting the file on the tabletop which was adorned with the Cripistani map, a map which now included the Anagonian fleets.

"Yes," an officer, Colonel James Watson, chimed in, "The bleeding hearts are after us." There was a brief chuckle about the room, but none of the military men misjudged the seriousness of the situation. These fleets, combined with the other local naval forces of the Anagonians, were greater than their own local naval forces, and the bulk of the imperial navy was some distance away.

"Any suggestions as to how to deal with this?"

Although advances through the nation had been halted until the attack on the CRU was completed, Armani and Moria continued to thrive. Day by day, each became more and more like a regular place. Each had their own t.v. stations and newspapers. One thing that Orbath encouraged them to do was to have citizens register and begin paying taxes. So far, Orbath had footed the bill for most things and part of being independent was to be able to pay their own expenses. Orbath introduced a currency to each state. In the past, due to the rebellion, money had become worthless. Bartering and trading became the way get things. Another thing that was done was to have the citizens register. This was for various administration reasons, but mainly so each state could begin taxing its people. This would allow them to pay their own expenses.

Orbath also opened an embassy in each state and encouraged the states to open embassies in Orbath. Trade between Orbath and the states begun, and Orbath encouraged the states to trade between each other.

The militia had become a large and effective defensive fighting force. In Armani, the people were much more willing to fight, and so, a larger army was raised. In Moria, the people were less willing but an effective military stood none the less. Orbath had provided both nations with 5 Ton Trucks, HMMWVs, 105mm Howitzers and various weapons. They had sold many of the old, broken weapons or exchanged many nations models, to Soviet models, for logistical reasons. Unexploded tank shells and mines were sold also, providing more cash.

The city of Urbs Cripistan, which had begun as an Errikan military fortification shortly after the start of the occupation, had grown rapidly from this humble beginning to become the largest metropolis in western Cripistan. Billions of dollars of investment had created a thriving city seemingly out of thin air, and it was not alone. The effective infrastructure which had been laid across the Errikan Cripistaini territory for military purposes was meeting, and, in fact, developing, the rapidly growing civilian needs, as a true commercial economy grew. Rice from the northern deltas and bananas from the south intermingled with grain and beef from Errikland in markets all across the territory, as cars and trains run on fuel drilled and refined in other Errikan territory shipped metals mined in the western mountains and industrial parts for use in urban factories.

This political organization is not purely based on population, though that certainly is a factor, if you look at the massive desert ones in comparison to the smaller river valley ones. Even if they vote to leave the Empire, they may wish to keep this organization, as the Errikan development--from infrastructure to various political organization--is based around it, and keeping it would allow them to effectively take advantage of that.

"Thank you," Colonel Jones said, hanging up the phone, "They are going to put the census into overdrive in order to facilitate a swift vote." The general shifted in his chair.

"And if the Cripistanis do vote us off the island, we are just to pack up and leave without a word?"

"No, sir," Patton broke in, drawing the attention of the military men across the table to the civil diplomat, "We are to retain investments, and have access to resources."

"And what of our settlers? Any Errikans who wish to stay in Cripistan?"

"I am certain that we can work out matters so that their settlement would remain permanent."

"Of course, sir," said Watson, "We should not assume that they will vote us out. We have done a great deal for them."

"Yes," Richards, recently back from the frontier, agreed, "These people greatly appreciate all that we have done for them; they have, in fact, migrated here in droves just to live under us. I doubt that they will be eager to throw that off."

"That is not to say that they will not, of course?" asked Bauer.

"Absolutely not," answered Watson, "But we can expect them to be reasonable."

"I've heard enough," the general interrupted, "We must hope for the best at this point. Of course, we do our allies a disservice by not including them in this discussion. Raymond?"

"Yes, sir?" came the answer over the intercom.

"Invite Commander Khazel to join us."

"Yes sir."

EDIT: The message was sent to Khazel that there was a meeting of Errikan commanders discussing matters crucial to Errikan Cripistan, and that his presence was desired, being that he was the effective head of the Cripistanis in the territory.

"You see, they were not keen to the Empire remaining on the island, and seemed to intend to force us out--that is, until we informed them of your decision to become part of the Empire. Now we have compromised with them; there is to be a vote, a vote of all local Cripistanis, to determine the fate of the territory. OOC: Keep the OOC stuff to the OOC thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13292898), please.

But, so long as we are doing this here, I can address your question; I don't think you have to post anything here if everything you've been doing so far has been on the other thread. Really, it would be better to keep a single plot line together, unless there is some specific reason for it to cross over to this thread. Then again, if you wanted to do something else that was more relevant here, then this would be the place to put it.

As major military operations in this sector seem to have been effectively concluded for now, your particular talents are now a bit wasted here. Thus, you are on standby for a shift to the Mhoudia theater.”

“Yes, sir,” Jones said stoically. His own visible reservation masked his elation at the news; this theater had turned, like, to an extent, Arterus, into a diplomatic matter, which he knew to be a waste of his talents, as the general said, and, of course, of his ambition. Perhaps these Mhoudians would be a bit more combative.

The troops had quickly swept onto the beach and the port had been captured with no resistance. This allowed the larger cargo ships to begin offloading men, machine and cargo. This took almost a whole day. At the same time, RAH-66 Commanches as well as UAVs flew along the projected path of assault and into the surrounding areas, scouting for resistance. By the end of the day, commanders had devised a plan of attack. A small area, only a few roads and a couple of villages running north would be captured. They area was chosen due to having the most direct route, less civilians and less resistance. From the port and the nearby beach, columns of soldiers began heading north, towards the CRU.

The transition occurred rather quickly. Anagonia had other commitments and thus, had no choice but to pull out of Cripistan, leaving its territories under the control of Orbath. The largest player on the island was gone and Orbath knew that they needed to replace them or risk the nation going back into hell.

Sea

As the hundreds of Anagonian warships left, two new naval task forces took their place.

Land

An additional 2 million soldiers began to land, as the Anagonian soldiers left. This recent jump in deployment caused reserve units to be called up. However, this large deployment would be the last. In the coming weeks, the largest operation launched by Orbath would begin, to secure hold of the rest of the island.

Word of the Orbathan military withdrawal had reached the Errikan military command, a branch of which was currently devoted to the Cripistan situation. The Empire had invested a great deal in their current territory, transforming a largely backwater and under populated corner of the island into an economically booming region, with massive urban centers and a sizable Errikan population (over thirty million Errikans, over twenty million mixed and ethnic Arterusians).

However, they were now, and actually had been for a matter of months, facing great difficulties in organizing an effective public election, the one which, by agreement with Orbath and Anagonia, was to decide whether the territory was to remain within the Empire, becoming an official colony, or split off, likely joining some other Cripistani state. It was typical Errikan policy to register everyone, and all of the migrants from elsewhere in the Empire or anywhere else off the isle of Cripistan had been registered prior to or upon their arrival, as had many of the local Cripistanis. However, they had not anticipated, and were unable to fully cope with, the mass immigration of Cripistanis to the territory from the rest of the island; in an economically struggling land simmering with strife and instability, the rapidly developing Errikan territory seemed far to good an opportunity to pass up, and Cripistanis came in droves, well over one hundred forty million coming to Errikan Cripistan in the time since the initial occupation. Though there were extensive efforts to effectively assimilate them, these masses of peoples, coming from historically less than democratic, less than western cultures were not easy to get prepped for an election.

And now this concern arose. The Empire knew that the instability arising from the successive withdrawals of the two other remaining foreign powers—the very nations that had forced the withdrawals of the others—could certainly be very bad. The lack of strategic patience of these well intentioned democratic nations—or perhaps it was merely a lack of strategic fore planning?—could very well plunge the island back to where it was at the beginning of this mess. Then again, it was a unique opportunity for the Empire. With the competing imperialists driven off, and the driving democrats soon to be fully departed, the Empire could effectively establish hegemony in Cripistan, deciding the fates of the rival groups and dramatically expanding Errikan interests on the isle. However, at this point, they needed to be cautious in this pursuit: with elections impending, they did not want to do anything that would, in the short term, anger those whose approval they needed. Cripistani leadership assured them that they had nothing to fear, that the people understood what good the Empire had done for them. This seemed reasonable, and most likely, but the Errikan leadership was still concerned about the possible backlash should they openly support the Christian militants while brutally destroying the militant Muslims, the latter groups having substantial ethnic cousins in Errikan Cripistan.

They would certainly use their new leverage, but cautiously. At least until the elections.

While the diplomatic messages were hurriedly being arranged, sent out to groups of interest across the island, other political tools were being readied. Namely, an additional two million soldiers were being readied and sent to Errikan Cripistan; these were no regional guardsmen, though such units were being started in the territory, but professional, Errikan soldiers, career fighters who had seen combat in the past. If there was to be fighting, the Empire was not going to be dealing from a position of weakness.

Errikan Cripistan’s Demographic Foundations
-Joshua Bible

ERRIKAN CRIPISTAN, the territory held by the Empire’s forces on the island continent of Cripistan, has lately been a case of contrasts. While we have great success in developing it economically, beyond what was ever to be reasonably expected, the government side has been full of frustration, as the gathering election process continues to stall. And now, with the announced abandonment of the island by the nation of Orbath, the last other remaining foreign power after the departure of Anagonia, the Empire faces even greater issues there.

Everyone who has followed my column since the beginning of our Cripistani situation certainly knows about the election—the unprecedented poll of the conquered Cripistani people, which will decide their fate vis-à-vis the Empire—just as they certainly know about my opinion of it. The recent exit of the last of the alien powers that deemed this charade necessary from the region—a departure which is complete enough to ensure that they will not come knocking—will not mean an end to it, however. While I may not like this process, the Empire has not historically been willing to go back on its official word, and I doubt that this situation will be an exception.

So what does that mean for us in Cripistan? Well, the election will have to be a concern when deciding our actions in establishing order in the current power vacuum. For one, until our people can effectively get their act together and crank out an election process, we will have to be walking on eggshells in our dealings with the Cripistani Islamists; anything short of an act of aggression on their part as a catalyst for a war could get a rise out of the substantial Muslim population of Errikan Cripistan, the bulk of whom come from either from these very Islamic tribes or from ethnically related ones. The civil unrest of that important group could be very damaging to the Empire’s interests in the region, particularly shortly before an election.

But there is more to the situation in Cripistan than the current developments in the east, and there is more to Errikan Cripistan than the strictly economic and political side; I think I should spend some much needed time examining demographic issues in the territory, which have largely been glazed over by much of the media.

At the time of the initial Errikan conquests, you might remember, the territory was only very lightly populated. Despite the fact that much of the region was well endowed with resources and some arable land, nearly all of Cripistan’s population was far to the east, on the eastern shores and central lands, particularly the north central plains that contained the previous capital city of Webster. The western third of the island held a miniscule five percent of the population prior to the collapse of the civil government, with the territories that the Empire would take being disproportionately underrepresented even from that. However, with successive defeats in the important eastern and central parts of the country, Ameen Khazel’s East Cripistan Liberators, the leading more secular Islamic military group at that point, relocated westward. The move was not meant to be a true permanent relocation of power, but a move that would allow the now struggling organization to regroup and re-enter the war effectively. This move did result in some westward migration, but it was mainly of remaining loyal military forces, not a large scale civil resettlement.

Thus, when the Empire did arrive in the territory, they found a region with a paltry population consisting of struggling paramilitaries and backwards, scattered tribesmen.

Allying with the ECL, the Empire was able to effectively take in the region rather quickly and nearly bloodlessly. At the same time that we were agreeing to the ludicrous election, Errikan capitalism was performing its typical miracles, transforming the region from an impoverished backwater into an effective economic machine. The political stability and ensuing economic booming quickly attracted the suffering peoples across Cripistan, who, feeling the problems that naturally come with the more uncivil of civil wars, came in droves to the Errikan territory. Peoples of all tribes and backgrounds arrived, and it took a firm hand to ensure that they weren’t merely importing their war into the territory as well (though some violence ensued, and some continues, though it is scattered and inconsistent).

Thus the current demographic situation in Errikan Cripistan is entirely a recent one, one that must be contended with if we are to continue to make progress.

The numbers* regarding the Cripistanis in Errikan Cripistan are telling of the issues we face. Of the over 160 million Cripistanis, 64 percent, nearly two thirds, are Arabesque racially, and just under half of the Cripistani population are Muslims. This means that they have substantial importance there, with the next largest racial group, Hispanics, consisting of under a fifth of the population and the next largest religious group, non-Catholic Christians, consisting of under a third of them. When one factors in** the Imperial populations that have moved in, populations that will be properly accounted for following the election, there is a notable power shift. Arabs go from nearly two thirds of the population to under half, losing their majority, while Muslims go from a near majority to 35 percent, just over a third. Errikans, totaling about fifteen percent of the population, are the new second largest ethnic group while Errikan Christianity, at just about a quarter of the population, is the new second religion, closely followed by other non-Catholic Christianity. In fact, if one lumps the Christian groups together, they make up 49.379 percent of the total population, making them the largest religious group and just barely short of a majority.

What does that mean? In an ironic twist, until the election it pays not to be a citizen, but to be Cripistani, and, though our friends in the ECL are strongly supportive of annexation, certain Islamist groups know that it is in their favor to exist in this political limbo, remaining an unincorporated “territory” but still gaining the economic benefits of being in the Empire, for as long as possible.

The Geography of Religion in Errikan Cripistan

Religion in Errikan Cripistan, one of the, if not the, most religiously diverse territories held by the Empire. At the time of the political structuring, the religious balance roughly corresponded with map 1 ( http://www.maj.com/gallery/Errikland/NS/Maps/cripistan_erkdetl_re01.png), with strongly Christian areas in red, strongly Muslim areas in blue, and mixed/divided areas in purple (the Baha'i corner is the yellow). Here it is visible that the coastal areas and much of the eastern border were very Christian, the inland areas mixed, and the deserts and rainforests largely Muslim. The populations, however, has been on the move. The Muslims have migrated westward, primarily to the (especially coastal) urban centers, in the millions, while the Christians have been moving, slowly but in progressively larger numbers, to the three eastern mountains/border districts as well as the Cripistan River valley region. These shifts are shown in map 2 ( http://www.maj.com/gallery/Errikland/NS/Maps/cripistan_erkdetl_re02.png).

In some respects this map may be misleading—the coastal plains and foothills, home to the earliest Errikan settlement, are shown in purple, though they are, in fact, redder than ever. It is the coastal cities such as Bregipagan, with their rapidly rising Islamic populations, that caused the change in these districts’ labels.

Other things visibly remain constant. The Khazel River district, which has been a Christian stronghold since the earliest part of the Errikan conquest, is clearly red, while the coastal province of Nos, where Islamic groups established their dominance around the same time, remains blue.

A medium-sized man sits behind a casual newsroom desk looking straight at the camera. An image of a domestic incident just then going off screen as Cripistan is pulled up. Shuffling his papers, he starts.

"For our viewers just joining us, here's an update. Recently, the Liberated State of Guardia initiated contact with Anagonia once again in an attempt to bring back the military and economic security it once had. Two days of deliberation in the Grand Congress ensued, followed by a unanimous decision to allow a small force to return to Cripistan. However, during the deliberation's it wasn't decided which province would take control of the campaign, and as such the decision to send forces back to Cripistan has stalled."

An image of a tall man with Imperial Armor standing before the flag of Drekamythia appears, his features hidden by shadows.

"Lord Emperor Havok Agamemnon, the appointed representative to the Silver Imperium, is said to have purposely stalled the peacekeeping campaign intentionally. Originally being one of its supporters, inside sources tell ANN that a flip-flop occurred when Havok met with the Soviet Premier during the last day of deliberation."

An image of the Chief Governor, Dunan Ruu, appears.

"Consequently, with the Chief Governor away on a foreign visit to Nova Pictavia, the decision for the peacekeeping campaign was left up to the next-highest ranking individual. Chief of Foreign Affairs and Activities Caster Oblivion has been left with the decision on whether to go ahead with the operation or allow a diplomatic resolution to take place."

An image of another domestic incident appears.

"Now onto Sports..."

Khazel looked at the report acquired by Erikkland.
" Good, now all we need is the vote. We should get started as soon as possible."

Telgram To Erikkland

I believe we should conduct the vote as soon as possible. As soon as the vote is carried out, assuming the vote is in favor of Erikkland, the region will be legal Erikkland territory. This would also mean the people can start working, and get on with their lives. Thank you.

Signed,
Ameen Khazel
