With the nation being in turmoil, Cripistan served only one purpose, resorces. Most nations didn't even care about the people, they wanted iol, uranium, and other goods. This was the place. Nothing but rebels fighting eachother, and no government. The rebels would surely give a fight, but with limited supplies, they could only last so long. Other nations like Vetalia and Red Tide wanted to carve out the land for their own needs. This was the time, and the occupation had begun.

Our Republic thinks your nation deserves more than what you have. In 72 hours we would like to deploy 15.000 Standard Shiloban Soldiers, 2.500 MK II Shiloban Battle Tanks, and 600 TYM Bombers. Hopefully this will help to eliminate the rebel forces in your nation, and liberate you, and increase political freedoms, as well as the rights of your citizens.
Our aid awaits your approval.

Superdreadnought H-49, 20 kilometers off the coast of North-Western Cripistan...
Major General Veronov Kaganovich Menshiv tapped the arm on his chair impatiently, he had a job assigned by the State too secure this territory. Why couldnt the Navy move any faster!? The territory Red Tide was about too seize was a massive oil field, at least if online records from Cripistan's former government were too be believed.
Vaguely, Menshiv wondered what type of fight he would be facing... it probably mattered not. That oil field would be Red Tides!
The coast of North-Western Cripistan...
With H/K-1 Surface-Attack Aircraft screaming overhead too provide Close-Air Support, the first Red Tidean landing wave hit the beach. Red Tidean Soldiers and armored vehicles rolled off onto the sandy dunes. Intellegince hadnt been able too pin down what rebel group had seized the area after the collapse of Cripistan's government.
But the conclusion had come that it would not have a very good time trying too dislodge the full Red Tidean Field Army that was in the process of landing, especially given that it was landing under the umbrella of naval guns and missiles.
The Empire of Osteia believes in a functional society. In 48 hours we will deploy a force of 20,000 Imperial Marines, 450 M1 Abrams tanks, 400 Leopard C2 tanks, 200 Coyote Apc's, for air support we will send you 200 F-35 stealth fighters. We are confident that these forces will aid you in your time of need and crush the rebel forces enabling you to establish the rights and freedoms your nation deserves to grow and prosper.
We wish you the best of luck
Signed...
Minister of defence,
Colin Stratton

By Decree of His Imperial Majesty, the Holy Roman Emperor Julius Nero
The Emperor, sole defender of the Christian faith and ruler of those lands under his ownership, now declares that Cripistan is a "situation" which needs to be solved for the international political climate to once again reach normal levels.
THEREFORE, the Emperor Julius Nero of the Urcean Kingdom in the collective Urcean Empire hereby decrees that 55,250 Imperial Soldiers and their mobile equipment, such as tanks and armored-transports, from His Majesty's Royal Third American Division will be sent to Cripistan to restore order.
ASWELL as the forementioned troops that are being sent to this island nation, his Imperial Majesty's Third Task Force of the Fourty Sixth Imperial Fleet will be deployed.

The rebels whatched the Red Tide Navy Approach. About 2000 rebels hid in the jungles as the Red Tide Army landed. As if it was a move in chess, the rebels immediatley ran out of the jungles firing thier asssault rifles at the approaching enemies. A few rebels in the back of the formation shot R-7 RPGs at the boats.

Osteia and Urcea:
Im not sure if you're aware, but even if you attempt to restore order, it would take decades before elections would be held, and a functioning government would be in office. We're talking about almost 700million people brken up into many groups that hate eachother. I just highly doubt that they would get along after killing eachother.
Once people begin occupying areas, ill upload them on the map.

As Imperial Naval Forces "hover" off the Cripistanian coast, Imperial guns, missiles, and fighter-bombers begin to bombard the coast, seeking to clear it of rebels so Urcean Expeditionary Forces can land.
This area that they hover about is widely unpopulated, and probably the most uninhabited part of the coast. As soon as the bombardment stops and the rebels are "rooted out", Imperial Expeditionary Forces will land in this area and claim it for the Holy Roman Empire!
Southern beaches of Cripistan...
Osteian LCAC Craft sped towards the southern shores of Cripistan loaded with troops, tanks and APC's. Commanche and Apache attack choppers hovered above covering their approach, four groups of five F-35 fighters strafed the landing zone at high speeds waiting to intercept any enemy forces that gave away their position. Soon 20,000 Imperial marines would have landed on the beaches to secure a foothold on Cripistan soil, Admiral Winifred Press watched from aboard the Nimitz class carrier Victory II,
"Inform me when the landings are complete, i will be in the war room..and get me all the intell you can on enemy arms.. and...numbers, support vehicles, their motive and positions of known en-campments...IF possible, but i want to know what their average soldier has on him in the field"
"Oh and Captian...i want all friendly forces tapped in to command, tell them we are here and give them our postion"
"Yes sir!" Replied Captian Ross, commander of Victory II

OOC: i will be comming in directly under the star of the capital on the southern shores to be exact...thank you.

Three weeks earlier, Mariposa, Lost Hills
The conference room sat on top of a spire in the heart of the commerce district. The oak-paneled room was lavishly decorated with sculpture, and two men sat across from each other at a long, heavy table. One of them spoke.
"So, Mr. [Removed], what do you wish for Lost Hills to do?"
The other man looked disheveled and wore a battered two-piece suit, a far cry from the well-fed and manicured government man across from him. He spoke up.
"Sir, as you know, Cripistan has recently undergone a total collapse. The nation has degenerated into infighting among various factions, and other international actors are coming in with heavy arms and equipment to rape our country.
"I represent the South Cripistan Liberation Front. We advocate instituting a semi-feudal system, with an installation of a noble class governing an underclass of workers. I understand Lost Hills operates in a similar fashion?"
The government man came from such nobility, and he said, "Yes, we do have a limited aristocracy here. Sometimes it is more efficient for the better people to rule and make decisions, as opposed to a rabble of plebs."
"We agree completely, sir. To this end, we need your government to do three things.
"1. Supply our organization with heavy weaponry. Although we have abundant numbers of fighters and small arms, we lack anti-armor capability and our own armored vehicles.
"2. Money. Our bank accounts are running dry, and a fresh cash infusion at this point would do well to put us on top of the rebel heap.
The man hesitated before continuing.
"3. Military support. Sir, we need the might of the Lost Hills Defense Forces to make sure we are the ones who prevail in this struggle.
After a long silence, the government man responded, "You'll have it."

Present day, South Cripistan, 400km southwest of Webster
The air drop had been successful, such as it was. After a cabal of government operatives had agreed to support the SCLF, a continuing air mission had been dodging rebel missiles and dropping vital weaponry and supplies to SCLF fighters all over the island. Two cargo planes had actually been shot down, and the crew were missing.
Captain Raul Bixby of the 2nd Battalion, 425th Airborne Regiment (Light) had been dispatched to find them. Actually, his mission was three-fold. His first job was to find and determine the status of the downed airmen, and if possible, extract them. Second, he was to make sure he and his squad of eight could get them out safely without creating an international incident. Third, he was to rendezvous with local SCLF fighters and remain in-country to support their continuing struggle against hostile forces.
It was a tough series of tasks, but Captain Bixby was up for it. He was a thrice-decorated combat veteran who had been leading this squad in special operations missions for almost five years. They were equipped with the latest armor and weaponry, including the new T-51F powered armor suits, which boasted a five-month battery life. A naval task force was hovering 300nm off-shore in case it all went to hell and they needed immediate extraction.
No problem.
Bixby and his men had parachuted into a forest some distance southwest of the capital and had made their way 5 klicks north to the rendezvous point. Here they were supposed to meet with a local SCLF commander who had information on the missing airmen.
It was a beautiful day, and Bixby could tell why this country was so highly-valued. The forest was all old-growth, and moss and lichens covered almost every surface in sight. They came upon a clearing.
Bixby subvocalized into the command band.
We're here. Keep an eye out for a friends, and don't get too comfortable.
His men took up a defensive perimeter as they watched the forest and waited.
Red Tide2

The Red Tidean troops acted instantly as the rebels charged. 30mm autocannon fire, 15.7mm machine gun, and 6.8mm small arms fire tore into their ranks. So did the Surface Attack Aircraft that screeched out of the sky, salvoing off rockets and strafing the rebels with dumb fire rockets. The RPGs mostly missed the landing hovercraft, as they were too fast too get a good hit.
Offshore, the big 25 and 18 inch guns on the Superdreadnought and Battleships(respectively) boomed, sending massive shells filled with explosives into the midst of rebel forces, with lethal results.
Cripistan
15-11-2007, 02:21
The troops that had attacked the Red Tide did not see that the mounted guns on the superdreadnought. The rebels began falling rapidly. The remaining rebels fought to the death. Only a few ran back into the jungles, some unsuccesfully, for the enemy machine guns sparyed them. The beach was left with no resistance. It was now occupied by Red Tide.
Urcea:
Where are you landing?
Lost Hills:
Members of the SCLF saw the men land, and got into thier jeeps.
" C'mon, we got to get there before anybody else." yelled an officer. # jeeps were sent to get the men. In each jeep there were 2 men. One manning the mounted .50 caliber mini, the other driving. They followed poorly made dirt roads to the location of the squad of the Lost Hills.
"Get in."
They drove back to a small village of maybe 200. There were armed men all around.
" I've got some bad news sir. Two of your planed were shot down by another group. We tried to find survivors, but only one man was alive. Follow me."
The SCLF soldier brought Captain Bixby to a small hut. In the hut was a badly wounded pilot of one of the cargo planes.
" We don't really have any medical supplies here. The closest hospital is in Webster. We havent been there in two weeks. Last i heard was that the city is a battlefield, as you know it is the largest in the nation. I wouldn't be surprised if it were burned to the ground by now."
(im going to update the map)
Our plains have just arrived in your country, on your southern coast. We will eliminate the rebels, and your nation, well it will be liberated!
Sincerely,
President Atar Algahar

((OOC: Whoa, wait a second. Cripistan apparantly didn't inform you that in previous threads, a massive blockade was formed from naval units from Stoklomolvi, GWO, The Beatus, and some others that I can't seem to name right now.))
Surprisingly, the Vetalian population was enthusiastic for military deployment in Cripistan. Recruitment had surged following the authorization of force, which itself had been passed with nearly 70% majority by the Senate and approved unanimously by the Proconsular Council. Public support for the war and Praetor Merinov were at stunning highs not seen since the rise of Ivan Melnikov two decades before, and even Emperor Kosyachenko was basking in the publicity, giving a number of high profile speeches at military installations around the country.
In some ways, it was a sign of renewed confidence following the war with Gholgoth, which had quite literally pushed the country near the brink of destruction and led to the near total destruction of the country's allies. Nonetheless, this war was an opportunity to regain some of the country's pride and influence, and the nation rallied behind it with imperialist frenzy.
On December 14, 2046 VE, the Vetalian Expeditionary Force set sail for Cripistan. Comprised of 2.5 million soldiers and a fleet of 1,200 combat ships, its goal was to establish the borders of Vetalian Cripistan and then push inward, seizing a large claim to ensure the colony would dominate post-war affairs even if the remaining territory stayed independent. It would arrive in a few days, and from there the Vetalians would get their first taste of war in a decade...

( GWO i believe in those other threads that all of you urged other nations assist in the invasion of Cripistan. That's what people are doing. Setting up colonies, and attacking. Don't you worry, i got it all under control, and BTW The Beatus is no longer blockading. Also, my ships aren't leaving so theres nothing you can do. You and your buddies asked that other nations get involved, and now they are. Its all legit. and if you read the sign up thread GWO i said there was a blockade. No my fault you and your allies ships didnt pick up other peoples ships in the ir radar. I guess your SOL, man.)
The Osteian forces disembarked from their landing craft, infantry fanned out along the beach weapons at ready, they were in a loose formation. MG's such as 30.caliber, 50.caliber and M29 SAW were set up covering the tree line, quickly, Mortar crews moved in setting up their weapons on the beach.
Tanks and APC's disembarked from the LCAC's. Major Harriett was in charge of the forces landing, he acted directly under Colonel VanDross who acted under Admiral Press,
"Common marines, move , move , move!"
He slapped soldiers running by on the back,
"Captian Sutherland! radio Victory, we have landed with no opposition what so ever at this time...beach is in our hands"

Then once you arrive there will definatley be resistance, they really dont take kindly to people who try to takeover their land. Especially sice it's the SCLF, who has a foreign source of weapons, and a large number of elite fighters.

Official Declaration Of Intent
The Republic of Preft would like to show support for a rebel group in the South Eastern region of Cripistan. Their only major military base is positioned to control the harbor called Harbor of The Wind. The group call themselves the Guardians. The Republic of Preft will provide food and munitions as well as military advice to The Guardians.
Signed,
John Baker
December 10, 2046
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Colonel Travis Watson stood on deck of one of the three massive cargo ships that sat within the Cripistan Harbor, Harbor of The Wind. Colonel Watson stood looking over the shore both admiring the location for its beauty and assessing the coast militarily. It was a great harbor, very deep and well protected by the Guardian military base positioned on a cliff over looking the harbor. A small town had built up around this harbor and from Watson's military Intel its economy is based mainly around fishing. Watson looked down to a letter he was holding in his right hand. These were his orders presented to him directly from President Baker and were only known to the men hiding in the holds of the three commandeered cargo ships. To the world they were here to support these "Guardians" with supplies and advice but the plans in the letter showed a more important role. Colonel Watson shoved the letter in his pocket and looked up and watched the approach of a small fishing boat from the shore. The fishing boat held the leader of the Guardians Ex-Colonel Tristan Frowl, who he was supposed to be assisting with supplies and military advice.

From a secure location, a Lieutenant of the SCLF looked at the Osteia troops stepping off of the landing craft. This location held no importance to the SCLF. Yet, he wanted to speak with the these people.
" Get a jeep" he ordered to one of his soldiers. They drove down a path.
" Where is your leader?" he asked a Osteian soldier.
" I wish to speak with him."
Harbour of The Wind:
The Guardians looked over the cargo being unloaded.
" What do you have for us today?" asked a high ranking Guardian soldier.
" We need fire arms and military vehciles. Put that in for the next order. I'll be damned if I let any other countries take over what is rightfully ours, whatever happens, we want to be ready to give them the toughest fight of their lives
Lost Hills
15-11-2007, 04:28
Sumlat Village, 380km southwest of Webster
As Bixby disembarked from the ramshackle jeep that headed the convoy that transported his men to the wretched village, he could see why they needed the help. The village was less of a quaint old-Europe style mountain town and more of a third-world collection of mud-brick and thatch huts on top of a barren hilltop. It appeared the residents had stripped the surrounding forest bare in their search for firewood and food.
Armed men did indeed surround them, and it appeared the SCLF was distributing the weaponry Lost Hills had air-dropped. Most of the men carried surplus M-4 carbines, but some carried the same weapons as Bixby: the DR-83M tactical carbine.
Damn, those are newer than mine, Bixby thought. Hope they know how to use them.
He heard a rumbling noise behind him he typically associated with a heavily armored vehicle, and he immediately unsafetied his weapon and spun to face the threat. He could see the rest of his squad taking up defensive positions and doing the same.
This time, there was no danger. The rumbling came from an Arca. II light battle tank, which had apparently been airdropped along with the rest of the supplies. It was finishing up a patrol and returning to the village to refuel.
Come to think of it, those jeeps were new too.
The SCLF soldier led Bixby and his men to a shack in the center of the village. Dead and dying men surrounded the premises, and there was a pile of amputated arms just outside the door.
This is probably a bad sign, Bixby subvocalized on the common band.
You got that right., he heard in response from Sergeant Mack, one of his weapons specialists.
Stepping into the shack, Bixby immediately saw the headlining attraction: four Lost Hills Air Force officers lying on slabs. One was still alive....maybe.
Bixby ordered his men to clear the building and stand guard outside and removed his helmet. The surviving officer looked up and saw the distinctive armor.
"Thank God you're finally here. These barbarians have barely been keeping me alive. We went down two weeks ago carrying a load of ammunition for the rebels, but another damn faction lit us up with SAMS. Dawkins and Walker didn't make it out, but the rest of us managed to get picked up by the local SCLF garrison."
Bixby replied, "Good to hear it, Lieutenant. Another plane was shot down a few days after yours, do you have any idea what happened to the crew?"
The Lieutenant winced in pain as he responded, "The SCLF boys have heard some rumors about a rebel group holding some high value prisoners on the southeast of the island. Haven't heard anything concrete though."
Bixby called up a map on his wrist display and showed it to the LT.
"This point here," he pointed, "is our exfil site. It's about 15 klicks to the northeast over some mountainous terrain. Are you up for a long jeep ride?"
"Guess I'm gonna have to be."
"Alright LT, I'm gonna have my medic take a look at you, and we'll round up some transportation. You'll be back home within two days."
"Thanks, Captain."
Bixby put his helmet back on and stepped outside, leaving the LT to be treated by his squad medic. "Doc," as he was affectionately called had a habit of bringing back men from near death, and Bixby wasn't worried about the LT's condition.
"Richardson!" he called over the command band, "Get on the horn with the Task Force and let 'em know we need to be picked up. A Peregrine will do it."
He turned to the SCLF liason.
"We're going to need three vehicles and an escort to the exfil site. Can you provide that to us?"

The south Lizasaurian government once initially making contact with Cripistan saw in them a reflection of South Lizasauria's early history before the dark times but the support arrived too late, Cripistan was already repating South Lizasauria's history of civil war and bloodshed. But it was still early in the game, the federal government sent 4500 troops in hopes that it would help stabalise matters and prevent them from having their own version of the "age of bloodshed" (age in which South Lizasaurians purged over 30 million of their own citezens in the name of nationalism(aka First Grecian war). The troops were specifically instructed to do what it took to make sure all the turmoil, foreign imperialism and unrest came to an end. They were to make sure the federal government would be in command, and that they would live in an age of peace. Of course the South Lizasaurian government felt that this predicament would be solved if the Cripistani government became a meritocracy so South Lizasauria was expected to encourage meritocratic reforms.

The SCLF leader stepped outside with the Captain.
" I got some news on that second plane that was shot down. The crew is being held captive by the Guardians. Don't be fooled just because they're a rebel group. Word is that they also have help from a foreign source. I can get a couple of jeeps rounded up to get you and your boys outta here. But, we don't know what the Guardians are capable of. We're gonna want to geet up there as soon as possible. Otherwise, your boys could be killed. Can you have any troops go up there with us?"
Harbor of The Wind
"Who are you?!" screamed the Guardian soldier before hitting the Lost Hills crew member with the butt of his rifle.
The 4 men that were shot down in the cargo plane were tied up in a small hut. They had been being badly beaten by the Guardian soldiers since there arrival at the Harbor. All the crew members were badly injured from the crash, not to mention the beatings that had recieved in the past two days.
" I swear, if you dont start talking we'll kill all of you!" Still, no answer. If the Lost Hills and SCLF didnt arrive soon, the crew members would surely be killed.
Colonel Watson had assembled fifty marines in full combat gear standing in five rows, an impressive sight and was intended to show Preft’s power and dedication to their cause. In front of the marines sat 20 containers full of assault rifles. Directly in front of this presentation stood Colonel Watson in military dress watching Ex-Colonel Frowl walk across the deck to his position.
“Welcome to Cripistan Colonel. As you know I am General Frowl, leader of The Guardians and Governor of the Harbor of the Wind, beautiful is it not?” Frowl asked.
Colonel Watson noted the arrogance that this so called General exuded through both his speech and posture, he hated it.
“Yes, it is extremely beautiful, and thank you General for the kind welcome.” Responded Watson.
“Are these what you have brought us?” Frowl asked while pointing at the assault rifles lying at his feet. Frowl Reached down and picked up one of the rifles and examined it and asked Colonel “ Why does your nation support a lowly band of rebels any way Colonel? It seems like a hopeless cause especially with so many factions vying for supremacy on our continents, not that we are complaining however.”
“General Frowl our nation is in great need of a port on this side of the world that will be able to keep our trade interest alive no matter what nation tries to derail it. Also a friendly harbor on this side of the world to allow our naval forces a short period of rest would be a great advantage.”
“Good answer Colonel cause if you were going to come in talking of protecting human rights and all that bull I would have laughed and sent all these wonderful gifts back to Preft. I know that our two peoples will come to be friends, and your ships will always be welcomed here. Know that that is settled when can we get these gifts unloaded?”
“Our crews on the other two ships have already started unloading and supplying your base with munitions, medicine, food, and fresh water. I also wanted to notify you that 2 more cargo ships are on their way.”
“You do not waste time do you Colonel Watson, do you?”
“No I do not. We have received many reports of invasions all over Crispitan and want to make sure that we have a strong position before dusk today. I would like to come back with you accompanied by my marines to strengthen your position and asses the bases defenses. We will also start unloading the munitions from this boat after we land.”
General Frowl looked concerned with this new piece of information and immediately started to move towards his vessel, while leaving he said “Then we must go my people are in danger.”
Colonel Watson was not tricked by Frowl’s apparent concern for “his people” he new that Frowl was only concerned with keeping his own power, but he signaled his troops to grab the supplies and disembarked for the military base.

If the government was stabilized, the people would have loved for South Lizasauria to step in and help, Unfortunatley, there was no government. All members had either been killed, or fled the country in fear of being killed. The rebels did not want to band together to become a nation, they wanted to be their own seperate nations. They did not care that this civil war ahd already claimed over a million lives, they wanted to spread their culture, and make everybody like them. Of course, this would not happen, so the bloodshed would certainly continue.

Captain Bixby took some time before he responded.
"We'll go with you to meet them immediately. First though, I want you to send some good men with my Lieutenant and make sure he evacs safely. My boys and I are ready to move out as soon as you are."
Bixby subvocalized over the command band, Lock and load. Looks like we're going to see some action after all.
The Lt. was searched, and had nothing on him.

Major Harriett smirked,
"I am Major Harriett, Imperial Osteian Marine Corps, and we are here to restore order to this nation...not..for our own benifit but for the good of your people, say what you will but that is our mission and we will complete it"
He paused briefly to light a cigerette,

"You have your orders and i have mine Lt, it is our duty as soldiers to carry them out to the best of our ability..."
Colonel Watson arrived up at the military base and immediately his marines scattered walking in all directions each occupied with different tasks of their own.
“What… What is happening?” General Frowl yelled immediately pointing his weapon at Colonel Watson. Immediately every Preft marines had their weapon pointed at a Guardian and hundreds of Guardians had their weapons pointed at the marines.
“My men have to assess your situation and your troops while I talk to you about your operations and strategies planned ahead. Half of them are measuring things such as bases dimensions, and troops and the others are analyzing the trenches and barbwire you have for defenses. Also a few of them are planning where to put the few artillery, anti air defenses and mortar pieces we have to provide cover for both the harbor and base.”
The General immediately lowered his weapon but was still suspicious. “Ok fine but they will be accompanied by our own soldiers.” He immediately signaled his mean to lower their weapons and the Preft marines did the same.
Colonel Watson and General Frowl walked to a building in the center of the base, which was used for the ultimate command of the Guardian forces. As soon as they entered the building a high ranking officer approached General Frowl and whispered in his ear.
“Colonel I have a good surprise for you it seems that we have captured four pilot of one of the nations that are invading my people. We haven’t had much luck getting them to talk but maybe you will have better luck with one of them. Bring one of them in Captain.”
Immediately Colonel Watson new that this was no spy, this pilot had on a pitiful looking jumpsuit which would mean he piloted a low altitude flying air plane and nothing as sophisticated as a spy plane. The man had be beaten and torture and it looked as if he had already died until the captain punched the man again and the pilot opened his eyes, well one of them because the other one was swollen shut. Colonel Watson walked up to the man and examined him further and realized he was a SCLF pilot and part of their air supply core. Colonel brought out his radio “Bring in the heavy guns don’t mess around with the small arms, we have a situation on our hands.” The radio responded but it was shoved in to its holder so fast that it was not recognizeable. Watson turned to Frowl
“Release this man and give him proper medical treatment, you may have just destroyed any chance we have at keeping this harbor.”
“He is a spy.” Replied Frowl.
“No,” yelled Colonel Watson as he turned and ripped the badge off of the arm of the pilot “He was a cargo pilot. See the symbols. Also if you can read you will see you future destroyer.” With this he shoved the badge into the Generals face and bent down and picked up the pilot and stormed out the door, searching for his medical officer in his small band of marines.
“Damn these ignorant rebels they screw up our plans I knew we should have just stormed the base and take it instead of putting on a fake face for these ingrates and then backstab them” Colonel Watson thought
A few hundred kilometers from the Cripistan coast, north of Webster. The air was cool and quiet, the only sounds the lapping of the waves and the powerful engines of the fleet pushing ever closer to its destination. The high command was holding a brief strategy meeting, drafting plans for their invasion and discussing the various measures that would be used to ensure the rapid conquest and establishment of a secure territory within the country.
To this end, they drafted the General Terms of Surrender, which stated a group of principles for the areas they would be invading. Hopefully, the rebels would cooperate and spare their forces the time-consuming work of driving them out so that resources could be spent assimilating the territory all the more quickly.
The terms drafted at this meeting are as follows:
General Terms of Surrender
1. All rebel forces will stand down and immediately present themselves for surrender to the Armed Forces of Vetalia.
2. Vetalian forces will occupy the city of Webster and all areas 150 miles from the city in each direction up to the coastline. This will create a section of the country administered by our nation for future development and improvement by our citizens.
3. The other nations involved in this conflict will be granted full mobility through our territory and access to the city of Webster. Any and all rebels that surrender will be granted full citizenship in our new colony and will not be penalized. Continued resistance will be met with disproportionate force.
These terms were asking for a lot, but the point was simple: they were going to take as much as they could without refusal, and if the enemy refused it would be time to engage in strategic operations to ensure Vetalian claims were not negatively impacted by this conflict.

Two jeeps were loaded with 4 armed SCLF men, and a third jeep with 3 soldiers and the injured crew member.
" He'll be fine, dont worry, he'll be at the extraction point in an hour."
100 additional troops loaded up in the tanks supplied by the Lost Hills, and jeeps. They set off for the Harbor Of The Wind.
Harbor of The Wind 2 hours later
Being a small village with only 40 armed men, the Guradian were not prepared for an attack.
" Who are you!!?" screamed the Guardian soldier to the crew members. He drew his gone, but quickly turned his attention to sounds of gun fire. He ran outside. The SCLF soldier were shooting any Guardian they saw in sight. Soon, every Guardian was running for his life. Within 20 minutes the SCLF had taken over the village. They searched every hut until they found the plane's crew members.
" It's all right guys, you're gonna be okay." said an SCLF soldier while untieing the captives.

OOC: If it wasn't noticed before, Cripistan is currently blockaded and this should have been mentioned. He should have worked out his IC actions with us before moving on, or at least informed you all on the fact that a massive naval blockade surrounds him. ICly, if there was a rebellion in Cripistan, the allied nations would be the first to know about it and the first to react. I'm unsure of how he wants to go about this, he has just left several nations hanging.
PS: Just before he created this, we were working out the end part of a ''deal'', which would have allowed us control over his nation.
(1. Stoklomlvi said that he would tell me when Cripistan would be "aware" of that deal 2. In the sign up thread I said there was a blockade, its not anybody elses fault that you weren't paying attention)

Many rebels ran at this warning. They new of the Vetalian military's strength, and wanted nothing to do with them. However, Wbster was a battlefield. Every faction wanted, and would not step down. It was a strategic point. In the center of Cripistan, medical facilities, food, it would not be given up easily. The battle for Webster had begun as soon as the civil war started. And, if the many rebel factions had anything to do with it, they each claimed it as their own.

This needs to be resolved, and I suggest we take all discussion to the OOC thread.

Orbath
At the time, the President had been holed deep inside of a concrete bunker, working with allies on a response to Cripistan. An ultimatum had been worked out, yet to be sent to Cripistan. A top military official walked into the room, interupting the meeting. He informed the President of what had happened. The President's reaction was clear in the message he sent out.
To: Cripistan Government and Rebels
Just hours before an ultimatum was to be delivered, this occurs. As I am unsure of how this will turn out, I must regret to announce that no force will be sided with. The nation of Orbath pledges to regain control of this broken nation and restore to order, only then can a sensible government be elected. No drunken lunatics and no crazy rebels.
Just Outside Cripistani Waters
The submarines slipped, ever so silently, under the blockade. Allied forces had been informed, so it would come as no suprise to them. The submarines had originally been tasked with eliminating naval ports and radar and SAM sites. This had been changed slightly. They would now focus mainly on radar and SAM sites and major military bases. The idea was that firstly the government forces would be targeted as the rebel forces would likely be a weaker opponent.
The subs, a mixture of Ohio classes and Allegro classes, spread out, over a large distance, to allow them the ability to strike targets over a large area, as well as ensure they all were not found. They moved into their positions, Ohio classes preparing to fire their Tomahawks, Allegros positioning themselves to defend the Ohio classes. Within seconds, to launch tubes erupted and hundreds of missiles poured towards Cripistan, towards vital military bases and radar and SAM sites.
Nearing Cripistan
A flight of bombers had been travelling for hours. They were B-77 Ravagers, destined to cripple enemy air defenses and naval ports. The lead pilot got a message.
''Bravo 1 this is Command, a rebellion is currently underway in Cripistan. We have altered your targets slightly, naval ports are no longer an issue, you will be hitting military bases, understood.''
''Understood Command.''
With that, they reviewed their changes an altered courses ever so slightly. Within an hour, they'd enter Cripistani airspace.

The pilot ((OOC: From another Cripistan thread, he was shot down over Cripistan)) was hiding in a deteriorating warehouse. It was practically his home now. However, he had been hearing gunshots constantly outside. He realized this was indeed anarchy, and that he was a lone soldier caught in the middle of it with no hope to escape until an Allied Invasion began. He grabbed his P-90, stepped to the broken out window on the top floor of the warehouse, and peeked outside. Almost instantly as he stood to look, several explosions hit near the building. He instantly ran from the window, expecting shrapnel to fly in and possibly kill him.

“Sir, several vehicles entered the village and took control of it. They look like SCLF ad Lost Hill troops.” Reported a Preft marine Captain.
“So it has started, we have to get this pilot down there and try to make amends. We at least need to get the civilians out. How many of the artillery pieces and mortars have been place and unloaded?”
“Five artillery pieces have been unloaded and placed and about 20 mortars have been unloaded and placed.”
“Good have our men man the artillery and mortars and prepare to fire on the town. Have the artillery load incendiary rounds and if the vehicles move closer load high explosive rounds. Make sure that the Guardians are instructed in how to use the PRGs.” Colonel Watson ordered.
“Colonel what will you do?” Asked the marine Captain. It was clear that the marines had a great deal of love for this man and trusted his judgment.
“I will bring them there pilot, alone. And no, I will not consider bringing any marines and or weapons, this is our only hope to assure that we can keep this base.” There was a stress on the we, which signified that it was not meant for the Guardians and the Preft marines but just for the Preft marines. He then picked up the pilot and set him inside one of the few jeeps, tied a white napkin he always carried with him in his pocket around the antennae, and just unloaded and took off towards the village.

OK, last OOC post about the blockade, the IC post above will be my part in this conflict. I didn't yet have any ships, only subs and bombers en route. I currently have a naval force preparing to deploy. Therefore, any nation could have slipped by me. It is up to my allies what they chose to do.

OOC: Thats up to you to decide, it depends on how long it took him to get back in his jeep and leave...if he didn't enter the forest i would expect him to surrender at my lines? along with anyone who is with him? Oh and this is my last post for tonight....be back tomorrow after work.
These attacks went on for one hour then ceased, Major Harriett called off the naval bombardment after he seen the damage that was done to the forest from the massed air assault, he had never ordered such a display of power in his whole career...he was shocked at the destruction, a form of destruction that he didn't know even existed had just ocurred. The forest was black and burning, smoke filled the sky, thick, in a massive cloud...
A message came over the radio,
"Attack complete sir, any further orders?"
He responded not taking his eyes from the sight before him,
"Yes, have several Commanche's make some passes for about a mile out from where we stopped bombing....anything that moves...kill it"
A responce came back..
"Sir, Commanche patrols report villages being evac'd.....there are civilians down there sir..."
Major Harriett responded quickly,
"Are you questioning my orders Captian Sanchez? i said anything that moves is to be destroyed, liquidated, wiped out, those are my orders untill we move further inland..we are not taking any chances, but i do not have to explain myself to you Marine..JUST DO IT"
The voice on the other end replied,
"Yes sir, Major Harriett sir! we will commence our scouting immeaditly, ready to engauge all targets as potential threats sir!"
"Very good, get to it....one mile Captian"
Harriett wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his sleeve and went back in his tent. The Commanche attack helicoptors started their runs. The patrols lasted for an hour and a half, mulitple targets were eliminated, few commanche pilots verified their targets as hostille before opening up, the others...just followed their direct orders.
Later on that evening Admiral Press got word of Harrietts order to engauge all ground targets and was outraged, this mission was to help the people of this country not wipe them out, Harriett was told NEVER to issue orders of that magnitude again or he would face an immediate court martial, on another note he was commended for his orders to launch a massive airstrike on rebel territory, scouts reported that scores of rebel soldiers had been killed.
Tomorrow ground forces would move in.

Village near the Harbor of the Wind
Well thank God that was over.
After Bixby and his men agreed to tag along with the SCLF rebels to find the downed airmen, the SCLF commander had ordered an ill-advised attack on a village owned by another rebel faction called "The Guardians."
The commander and two dozen of his men died in the attack, and now Bixby was left with two platoons of SCLF soldiers and his own men to meet a hostile force. The two Arca. II light tanks remained after the battle, while several jeeps were destroyed by enemy fire.
As for the men, three were found, all in reasonable health, although they displayed signs of having been tortured. The flight commander, a Major Black, was still missing, and the surviving men indicated he was being held at the military installation about 2 klicks away.
Bixby wasn't about to take any chances. The tanks were well-armored for being so light, a testament to their design, and he placed them front and center in front of the road leading to the military base. He dispersed the SCLF men around the village to hold key area, and placed his own men back near the road. There would be no SCLF incompetence here.
A flashing light on his HUD caused some alarm. Directing the visor to zoom in, he saw a vehicle approaching. Apparently his troops had as well, as the tank turrets began swiveling as they tracked the target.
He also saw a white flag and a very depressed looking Major.
"Hold your fire! Let them approach!"

Official Government Message
TO:INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
The nation of Orbath has been watching over Cripistan for awhile now. We have seen the injustices committed by its former government and we are glad to see it toppled. It pains us that in order for the government to be toppled, un-needed bloodshed has occurred and will continue to occur. With the nation divided into many factions, it is the Orbathain Government's belief that Cripistan will never be restored to stand under one flag. If by some miracle the Cripistanians merge together, it will not be without years of war and bloodshed. The nation of Orbath has decided to step in and take control over a region,eliminate conflict and unite it under a flag.
The nation of Orbath will claim this land as of today. This is subject to change.

Orbath
The President had orders issued to many units. A naval force, originally intended for the blockade and possible invasion of Cripistan was now setting sail. Not wanting to wait,the President ordered the deployment of Orbathain paratroopers
From bases across Orbath, C-130 cargo planes took off and their escorts took off. After a long flight, the troops would soon be jumping into hell, or ''Crapstain'' as the soldier so lovingly named it.
President John Baker listened to the announcement from Orbath in a state of highest concern. This could ruin all plans that had been laid for the Harbor of Winds. He grabbed the phone and immediatly dialed his head diplomat.
"I need a meeting with the President of Orbath ASAP. Schedule a plane and anything needed for the trip."Said Baker.
He hung up the phone without getting a reply and started packing to start the trip to Orbath.

Colonel Watson was slightly uneasy as his jeep approached the Lost Hills formation, what ever happened now would decide the if soldiers would die over a misunderstanding that in a couple of hour would not even matter.
"I have brought the pilot that was shot down and I ask to speak to your commander." Said Watson.
"You have no right to ask for anything look what you did to cargo pilots, you are inhuman." A soldier replied as he lifted the pilot off of the jeep.
"I apologize the pilots had been tortured prior to me being here and if I had he would have immediately been transported back to one of your military posts. I need to talk to your commander so the next misunderstanding does not lead to more violence that can be avoided. We both want peace in this land whether it is our own nation leading it or one of the rebel groups."
At this Bixby approached "You speak very innocently for a man that kills for a living." he commented.
Watson new exactly who lead this force as he approached, it just seemed to radiate off him as he passed through his men causing them to open a path to let him by while also compacting the forces as every soldier strained to hear, even the pilot had signaled to stay to hear what would transpire next.
The President had agreed to a meeting, although, nobody would be meeting with him. Rather, they would have meet with General Robertson, second highest in command of the Orbathain Military.
General Robertson waited at the airport. It was a rainy day, the downpour turning the grey of the city into a mush from where he could see. He sat inside of a limo, watching the tarmac and fiddling with papers. He hoped he and the President could figure things out before they even reached the hotel. He assumed the problem was due to the area the President had ''claimed''. It wasn't a claim really, the President had chosen an area deemed highly unstable. It was his plan to move soldiers in, secure it, defend it from outside attacks and hopefully allow elections. After elections he would turn this area into a new nation, inside the realm of a broken Cripistan.
He woke from his thoughts which had become a day dream. He could see the plane touching down on the runway. The limo started, following the convoy of military vehicles. The convoy stopped, near the plane. Soldiers, dressed in parade uniforms jumped from the back of IFVs. They came to attention, making two rows, like a hallway, towards the limo. General Robertson stepped out, waiting at the door.

Village near the Harbor of the Wind
Major Black collapsed as soon as he was pulled out of the jeep and didn't move again. The poor treatment he had received appeared to have been too much for the 40 year-old pilot, and he had died from his wounds.
Bixby stared hard at the foreign Colonel, even though his visor was opaqued.
"Who did this?"
Behind him, his men began slapping fresh magazines into their rifles and cycling the actions. A tell-tale blinking on his HUD caught his eye, and he keyed into a private comm channel.
One of the captured "Guardians" is saying the foreign force has artillery zeroed on our position, reported one of his weapons specialists, The word is, it was also the Guardians who killed our man. They're holed up in the military compound and in the harbor below. Looks like they're off-loading weapons of some sort.
This somewhat complicated things. An altercation here would probably result in the deaths of everyone in the village, whereas shifting locations to either the base or the harbor would not only mean probable victory, but would deal a decent blow to rebel operations in this area.
Fuck it, Bixby thought. As the Colonel stuttered, Bixby called out to him.
"Nevermind. We're moving out. Thank you for returning my man....or what's left of him."
As he turned around to walk away, Bixby subvocalized into the command band.
Take your attack positions. We're moving into the harbor.
------------------------------
The Harbor of the Wind
Bixby left two squads of SCLF troops and both tanks to cover the village and their rear, but took the rest of the men, numbering about 50 including his own, into the harbor.
The attack force held up on a ridge above the piers, and Bixby's visor identified over 100 hostile contacts, the majority of them Guardian rebels.
A platoon of SCLF soldiers led by two of his men, Sergeants Mack and Wong, would rush in quickly as the remainder of the force laid down covering fire from above.
As a safe-zone was established inside the perimeter of the harbor, the remainder of the attack force would move in, with a few men staying behind to provide overwatch. The men would then fan out and eliminate the Guardian men one by one.
A decent attack plan, but execution was, of course, the hardest part.
Bixby looked over at Mack, who was going over the attack plan with his SCLF partners. The SCLF men were well-trained, but they tended to take too many risks in combat and ended up getting themselves killed. Hopefully they wouldn't do that here.
With two light machine guns set up and ready to fire, Bixby gave the signal to attack. Incendiary rounds began lighting up the harbor as Mack led the platoon in, taking cover behind the huge containers littering the facility.
Here we go, Bixby thought.
After the coastal jungle had been cleared by the bombardment, an advanced force of 3,000 Imperial Marines, twenty tanks, and fourty APCs, land on the cleared land and claim it for the Empire.
They start to move for the jungle.

From the SCLF to any nations onvolved in the Cripistan Conflict:
The Osteia government had rdered the killings of civillians in villages in southern Cripistan, even though they were evacuating. This lsaughter should not be overlooked, and we urge other nations to aid in our fight against these murderes. Because we have no government, all we can do is attempt to disable their troops, and send them home. All we ask is that we recieve help to send these terrorists back to their mainland.

OOC: To everyone claiming land, I really like how Orbath edited the map to put in his claims. I think it would be easier if everyone did that. So, if you claim land, just edit my map, and fill in the region you want. It would be a lot easier. Then post it when you make a post.

Harbor of The Wind
The SCLF soldiers took their postions and fired. The two other squads led by Mack and Wong rushed in. Both groups were losing men fast. Because of the numbers advantage, the Guardians seemed to be winning this battle. It was up to the men on the ridge providing covering fire that would decide the fate of this battle.

OOC: Just got caught up...
IC: The landings had been a success, within six hours, three Mechanized and six Motorised-Infantry divisions(225,000 total troops) of the 23rd Red Tidean Field Army had landed along a 20 mile long, 10 mile deep beachhead. The other three armored divisions and three Motorised-Infantry divisions(150,000 total men) of the Army were still offshore and in the process of being unloaded.
The Red Tidean Engineers had also anchored four artificial docks that had been brought along, these had been designed along the lines of the Mulberry harbors from WW2. And they were designed with a similar prupose in mind: too supply a large force until a proper port could be seized.
Right now, the(landed) Motorised-Infantry Divisions had set up a temporary defense line along the beachhead perimeter, with two of the Mechanised Divisions acting as a mobile reserve in case of a rebel or foreign nations counter attack. The third Mechanized Division was being held back for a future offensive towards a large nearby port city, too be conducted as soon as enough supplies had been built up and the entire Field Army had been brought ashore.
Finally, Red Tidean Engineers were in the process of constructing a large, dirt airbase... until a proper airport could be captured, it would have too do. Once finished, the Red Tidean Airforce could be brought into play. Until then, the Red Tidean Navy would provide air cover.
In Red Tide proper however, the landings had been reported back as a complete success. As such, the rest of the 6th Army Front, which the 23rd Field Army was a part of, began too set sail in a huge convoy. In a week, there would be over a million Red Tidean Troops in Cripistan. Simultaneous with this departure, Red Tide released a statement.

Surprised by President Bakers straight to the point attitude and rather happy that he shared the same hope of getting the meeting over with as soon as possible General Robertson gladly agreed and they both entered the limo. As soon as the driver had closed his window and the car started driving off of the tarmac President Baker began.
"We have troops and interest on Cripistan just north of where your nation claimed, in The Harbor of the Winds. We wish to ask that you allow our cargo ships and military ships go through your blockade in order to establish a strengthened position in this harbor. I have brought a map designating where what we hope to accomplish. Also our global stance was to supply a rebel faction called the Guardians, but the truth is we are planing to take the harbor and win the support of the people there. We picked Harbor of the Winds because of its access to the sea and the faction that controls it. It seems the the leader of the rebels, a guy name General Tristan Frowl, leads through terror and his soldiers only follow due to threats against their families. We wish to eliminate him through the least casualties meaning that we have to seem like their friends. We don't want to harm the soldiers that are forced to fight so this is the only way we could get this to happen. Our cargo ships that are there now are filled with munitions food and medicine and hidden also in their hulls are about 1500 Preft marines. That is our plans and our agenda I hope that our two nations can compromise and reach an agreement to allow both our plans to come into fruition."

General Watson new that since the pilot had died it would esculate to violence. Fortunately for him though most of the civilians had excaped the village and made it up to the military base which meant that unintended casualties would be minimal. General Watson soon heard the clatter of machine gun fire over near the docks in which his supplies were being unloaded. He watched from the base as most of his cargo crewman and Guardian soldiers being gunned down.
At this rage built up inside of him and he ordered the artillery to open up with incendiary rounds on the cargo facility. His 5 artillery pieces stationed in the military base opened up raining fire down on the facility. Immediatly the whole place started to go up in flames. The few lucky soldiers about to hide behind a container that was food or medicine would most likely be burned alive.

"Captain Trace bring the 3 artillery pieces that are still on your cargo ship and put them on your deck and have a portion of our soldiers in your hull target the cargo facility. Also tell the other cargo ships to use the soldiers in their hull to strength security on the ships, the enemy may try to take them by force. Tell me when this happens."

The SCLF soldiers looked on, dumbfounded. Why would they blow up there own cargo ships? They all thought the same thing, Preft must be hiding something. With the enemies forces being crushed, they entered the harbor. They saw some civillians and quickly questioned them. Lt. Dobbs signaled for his men to move forward.
" Who is in command here? Take me to whoever is in command of this harbor."

The Harbor of the Winds
Bixby hadn't taken one step down the ridge when a warning indicator on his HUD told him to hit the deck.
"Take cover!" he screamed at the stunned SCLF men behind him, "Incoming enemy artillery."
Mack and Wong had seen the signal as well, and they held their men inside the perimeter of the harbor. Unfortunately, they had not stopped soon enough, and the exploding cargo containers vaporized an entire SCLF squad before they managed to pull out. Mack and Wong had heavy armor protecting them; the SCLF men did not.
As Mack and Wong began trudging up to the ridge with the remains of their squads, Bixby hesitated for a moment. It was the mark of a desperate commander to lay down such firepower on his own men. He could use that to his advantage.
The microprocessors in his suit triangulated the artillery fire to the military base past the village. With almost 40 men still holding the village and 20 remaining men with him, he could probably take the base, or at least hold the village until additional SCLF reinforcements could arrive.
Then there was the fact he still had two Arca II. tanks sitting in the village. They were nigh invulnerable to hand-held rocket fire, and unless the enemy force had armor support of their own, taking the base would be a piece of cake
"Form up! We're heading back to the village. Mission accomplished, boys."
He pulled aside an SCLF Lieutenant.
"I need you to contact your superiors and get us backup. We're facing a significant enemy force with artillery support, and we'll need at least two companies of mechanized infantry to hold this position."
The Village near the (Former) Harbor of the Wind
Having made it back to the village with no difficulty, Bixby was notified reinforcements were on their way: a full battalion of SCLF regulars with armor support. They would arrive within the hour.
Until they did, however, Bixby and his men would hold positions at the village. He ordered the men to start digging foxholes and positioned his gunners and AT troops to cover the road leading from the base.
There would be no way they would take this village from him.

Webster, capital of Cripistan
The fighting continued. On very street seperate faction soldiers were firing at eachother. At this point, due to the foreign supply of weapons, the SCLF seemed to control most of Webster. Already over 50,000 citizens had been killed in Webster alone by the warring factions. The SCLF armed with M-4 carbines, and light armour tanks destroyed the weakly armed opposition. Yet, it was still not all cheers for them. Their infantry were being picked of by the Guardians that were in the city. It was as if the Guardians and SCLF were at war with only eachother, and no one else. Which ever faction held Webster, also held the heart of Cripistan. It was a battle that would not result in surrender, but in the absolute extermination of the rival factions.
OOC: Did you see my demands for your Springfield Island territory?
Alpha Deployment Zone
Hundreds of helos filled the sky. A lot, too many for such a small mission. There were also fighter planes, and bombers, and some other planes. All sorts of planes. Captain Ricardo and his 4 member squad stepped out of their chopper. Captain Ricardo or "Ricc" for short wasn't even sure where he was, but he did know his mission, sabotage a series of rebel training faclilities in the central area of Cripistan.
Ricc and his squad began right away. Ghar, was the grenadier of the squad - basically because he liked to blow things up. Hanfrad was the machine gunner, he could lodge rounds in you fast; real fast. Ricc didn't know the other members of his squad that well yet. He called them "Thing 1 and Thing 2" out of the Dr. Suess book.
"Well men, we might as well get down to business. You know what we have to do, we've been through the briefings," said Ricc. The squad nodded. "I figure if we head up here," he pointed to the map and followed with his finger "and hit this town we have a straight path to the facilities and they won't know what hit them."
~~~
So the squad - 445th set out to do what they had always done. Kill. They headed off into the jungle, away from home again, facing death again.
We have a map, so where are you landing?
General Watson had ceased the artillery barrage as soon as he saw the enemy retreat from the cargo facility. It seemed that a portion of their troops had been protected by the tanks. He had only a few incounters with these tanks without armor support and none of them had been good. They had explosive armor which would cause any PRG's to be ineffective. That unfortunately wasn't his only problem, he had been cut off from the beach which meant the few ships he had left to unload supplies had no were to unload them. He had a solution to this but it was dangerous. He had rigged a small pully system hanging off of the back of the cliff and his boats could unload there, but this proved slow and the ships had to constantly change their course or be smashed against the cliff. Also his defenses were still very meger and un acceptable and undoubtable they would be calling for support. He sighed and started giving orders.
"Every man woman and child that can pick up any digging implements do so I want three cocentric rings of trenches dug one below the other so troops can retreat from one by being covered by the other. Also call the cargo ships and have them unload the anti armor mines."
"Sir, the mines will be inaffective against the tanks they are to heavily armored."Replied a captain.
"I know," replied Watson" but atleast we can hope for the tracks to be blown off. Also move up two of the artillery to the edge of the last trench make sure that they are also fortified but can shoot down the slope and also retain a full range of motion. Also have the artillery stock up on explosive rounds and also have the few rounds of air burst that we have near at hand. Yes I understand most of those were destroyed in the facility just do what I say..."
"Colonel Watson what are you doing giving orders to my men." General Frowl interrupted. Watson had no time for this and was ready to get rid of this man. Frowl continued" Why are we not attacking? They are on the run?"
"Frowl they have heavy armor that could easily destroy any attempt at taking the town."
"Then order your men to fire rounds in to the town." Frowl Replied.
"That will destroy these people lively hood I will not do that. I sacrificed my men already to insure that this won't happen." Colonel Watson stated.
Already many soldiers and marines gathered around ready for the culmination of the tensions that had been present ever since the arrival of the Preft marines.
"Damn the people you are sent here to protect me and my forces."Frowl yelled.
"I will not do that my intent is to protect the people. Also who do you think your forces are fighting for? They are fighting for their family's and their lives they once had. I will not fire on the village." Replied Watson and he turned away. General Frowl was so angered by this he drew his pistol and in the instant he was about to fire another shot rang out, but it was not from a Preft Marines rifle, it was from a Guardian Soldier. Watson turned around and saw the remains of Frowl lying a few steps from him and the soldier who shot him standing to the right of Frowl. The soldier immediately lowered his weapon and held it out for Watson to take and the soldier said.
"We are under your command. You hold the same values that we thought this monster had held and will follow you to our deaths."
After he had said this the Guardians lowered their weapons in the same fashion. Watson accepted the weapon and ordered them back to work. He also got back on the radio and ordered the cargo ship with the artillery on its deck into a better firing position. Its high explosive rounds would be raining straight down as the enemy approached hitting the most vulnerable spot of the tank, its top. The base was now his, now it was time to keep it that way.
The cool night air blew around the massive shapes of the C-130s carrying paratroopers destined for Cripistan. The troopers were in good spirits, many vets from the Colstream conflict. In one particular aircraft, a rowdy chorus of song had broken out. The song ended however, as a red light had come on. The troops stood up, hooked up and awaited the green light. The green light came on.
Hundreds of soldiers as well as vehicles tumbled into the night air. Parachutes flared and they slowly drifted towards the ground. A DZ had been chosen prior. It was a large field, roughly half a kilometer from an airfield they were ordered to secure.
Boots began hitting the ground. Camouflaged faces scanned the wooded area, fanning out and protecting those yet to land. After they landed, the soldiers found their respective vehicles and headed out. They had chosen not to follow the road, rather, they took the scenic route through a dense wooded area, towards the airfield. The main group of soldiers and vehicles halted, snipers crawling forward to a broken chain link fence. Using their infared scopes, they surveyed the airfield looking for any signs of resistance. Resistance appeared to be limited. Soldiers appeared to be patrolling the fence lines. Some could been seen through the windows of the terminal and the air traffic control tower. A large majority of them however, appeared to be gathered around small fires in barrels. The snipers radioed this information back to the commander who ordered the main force forward. The snipers lined up their cross hairs with the rebels in the control tower and fired.
Suddenly, the fence crashed forwards as Terrier IFVs pushed into them, and rolled over them. Quickly, their weapons were trained on targets, 30mm cannons blasting at rebels. Behind them, HMMWVs rolled onto the tarmac, turning right and heading towards the terminal. Along the way, their machine guns blasted away at unlucky rebels. Regular infantry soldiers fanned out along the fence line, taking pot shots at rebels.
Upon reviewing your claimed area, we think it would be beneficial to claim an area under both our ''control''. This gives us the ability to reach farther into the nation and protect each other. We would also like you to know, that as soon as we establish a FOB, you may use it. We will also allow you the use of our medical facilities and can perform air, naval or artillery strikes in your support.
OOC:Would this be in the area of your claim?
OOC: Cripistan you know that I have atleast 6 artillery guns active to fire in case of an attack 3 of which that would have launch rounds at high high trajectory that could destroy your tanks. Also I have never specified the amount of troops the Guardians have I know but there are atleast 50 Preft marines and the Guardians have always been alot more then the Preft marines at the base. Also I have PRG's that could take out your light armor just not your heavy ones (which the artillery could have). I would have been able to see your approach and used my artillery to destroy some of your forces and gotten my forces into position for a solid defense. You can attack but don't make it so your forces just walk in it would not happen like that. Please reconsider your last post and wait for your reinforcements that Lost Hills called for or your Forces would most likely have been decimated.
OOC:There is no village above the cliff the military base is up there. And also artillery fires by being called in from a position near the fighting. Artillery rarely sees where they are firing at. I have 6 guns firing in secondary and 2 guns getting ready to be positioned to fire in a direct way as i stated in my post. The military base has the advantage of seeing the harbor and the village down in the harbor were your troops were stationed so I would have prepared to fire on them.
''Well sir, It happens that I do not have enough forces to maintain the blockade, ships have been passing through for days. I do have a naval group, but nothing that would attack your ships. There is a problem however, the nation of Stoklomolvi, a strong Orbathain friend has claimed that area. Therefor, you should evacuate your troops as soon as possible. While Orbath does not wish for more conflict, an attack on Stoklomolvi could mean that your ships end up at the bottom of the ocean.''
We were considering the same, but you brought it up first. We believe that this will be quite beneficial to both of our nations. However, we are currently assaulting one of the beach positions, and we will be reaching the proposed point in approximately fifteen hours. We will be constructing an FOB near the edge of the proposed zone, and the two of our FOBs can serve for the mutual zone.
Cripistani Beach, 0250 hours, D-Day
[OOC: Movie style format; present tense for the time being.]
The beach, around five kilometres wide, is completely silent. Several scores of hedgehogs (tank traps) sit on the beach, while the foamy waves lap at the edge of the sand. Ahead, the shingle (gravel) is lined with barbed wire, and above the bunker sits quietly, with the machine gunner inside pointing his gun towards the beach. Meanwhile, aboard the SINC Vladistov (one of two super-dreadnoughts), the sixteen heavy gun batteries point towards the beach. Fourteen smaller gun batteries point beyond the beach, and the captain stands on the deck, using clean binoculars. One of the six coilguns point towards the beach, and the ship's AI uses the telescopic sight to examine the beach.
"Sir, there are exactly two machine gun bunkers, one artillery bunker, and six barracks."
"Very well. Commence fire."
"Yes, sir."
The dreadnought fires all of its guns, and the resulting shockwave is so large that the captain is literally thrown off his feet.
"Sorry, sir."
"No matter. Open fire!"
The dreadnought reloads some of its guns, and commences fire with the others. The coilgun fires one "Spike" at the artillery bunker, and soon after the one million Imperial Guardsmen disembark. Meanwhile, 500,000 more Imperial Guardsmen get on to LCVPs from other ships, and all of the fifty thousand troop transports carry thirty men each. The artillery continues to fire, and three hundred small missiles are launched at the bunker. Two cruise missiles are launched, and five MiG-36 Interceptors take off. They fire up their ion thrusters, and they take off for the bunkers.
The Village near the Harbor of the Winds
The rumbling of an armored column was a welcome sound to Bixby's ears, as he had been waiting anxiously for several hours now for an impending Guardian attack. Now that none had materialized, his men could regain the initiative and eliminate the force holding the military base.
A Lieutenant Colonel Lewis was the Battalion CO, and he technically outranked Bixby, but he deferred to Bixby's judgment for the upcoming attack. A quick inventory of the equipment showed about a dozen Arica. I heavy APCs, nine Arca I. light battle tanks, five SOV.17 IFVs, and two fearsome Arca. IV Nakil main battle tanks. This was all in addition to around 400 fighting men.
Bixby could see these were not the podunk rebels he had been working with all day, but actual professional regulars. They were likely from a unit of the former Cripistanian army that had defected to join the SCLF.
Of particular interest to Bixby was the mortar section that had walked by carrying a number of 120mm mortar tubes. It was surprising for a battalion-sized force to not have a dedicated artillery battery, but the several large mortars would have to do.
The assault would (hopefully) be orderly and efficient. Bixby had previously triangulated the artillery positions from their attack on the harbor, and the mortar teams would use these coordinates to lay down HE rounds.
The APCs and IFVs would spread out and sweep in, moving at a top speed of 50km/hr to the enemy lines. Once there they would disgorge their troops and cover them with 25mm and 35mm HE cannon fire, along with traditional heavy machine gun fire.
The tanks would swing around the east side of the base and hit the enemy flank. The Nakils could fire their guns from as far as 6km away, and the advanced FLIR and millimeter radar available to the individual tank commanders allowed for automatic targeting. Any enemy armor or artillery pieces would be wiped out as soon as the tanks started rolling. The Arca. IIs would screen the advance for the heavies and provide covering fire if needed.
Finally, the remaining dismounted SCLF troops would take their HMMWVs to the base and mop up and surviving any infantry.
It would be glorious.
Bixby explained the plan to the SCLF commanders and gathered his own men together. They'd take a SOV.17 up to the front. As his men rechecked their weapons, Bixby hit a button on his wrist and soon after heard the sound of mortar rounds whistling toward the enemy.
The vehicle lurched forward, and the men went off to see what they could do.
Fugaya Cavern, near Gesden, Northern Shore of Cripistan
It had been hard getting into Cripistan, almost unreasonably so. The foreign blockade forced an extremely covert infiltration, which necessarily meant that Hurfdurfistan was able to land only a very limited number of soldiers. However, knowing that to be the case, Hurfdurfistani military officials had deemed it prudent to send their best, Epsilons. They had inserted by submarine, at first, and an incredibly small one at that, crewed by only two dozen seamen. Which, of course, was fine: the Epsilons themselves crewed the submarine, opting to scuttle it during the infiltration, just one more piece of debris at the ocean's bottom. It would never be noticed among the myriad sunken ships and pieces thereof, leftovers of the recent war.
Once past the blockade, it had been a simple matter to inflate a handful of SOCs and land at Gesden. The locals hadn't taken kindly to their presence, at least not right away, but the officer in charge of Epsilon Squadron Echo, Captain Andrew Mitchell, quickly convinced them that they were there to assist them, not subjugate them. The natives still seemed suspicious, but they were at least willing to point Mitchell in the direction of the Fugaya Cavern, where supposedly the local militia, the Cripistani People's Union (CPU), was headquartered. Mitchell ordered the second Epsilon squadron, Juliet, to secure the boats and keep an exfiltration point available, should it be needed.
Mitchell ventured slowly into the cavern, his special ops team fanning out behind him. He called out, and was met by a single rifle shot, missing him by a few meters. His team took combat positions, but Mitchell signaled for them to stand down. He explained to the darkness that he and his men were from Hurfdurfistan, but that they weren't there as conquerors, rather as... advisers. Trainers, perhaps. And that they came with authorization to supply the CPU with arms, armor, and vehicles, as well as air support. They just had to trust him.
A thin man stepped out of the shadows, dressed in military khakis and holding an SVD. "My name is Kharziv," he said, "and I lead the Cripistani People's Union. Please, let us speak." And with that, an alliance was formed.
" Like i said before, i have only 256 men, but they're some damn good soldiers. All trained in the Cripistani military for at least 10 years." They all began training from 16-21. So they had years under their belts.
" Anyway," Kharziv continued " What kind of aid are we talking about? I know if we get some some decent weapons, and battle vehicles, we can take over some nearby villages and recruit from there people." He pulled out a map. " Look here. The town of Rabsada has a population of about 300,000. All they have is a small base with about 1,000 men. They all have good weapons, but bad training. If we get some up to date guns, and possibly vehicles, we could take it over. That could be a start. We could train more men, and have a full functioning, group. Can you do any of that?"
News of the Cripistaini crises had not only reached the Errikan Empire, but piqued her interest.
The initial crisis was of little interest, striking the Empire as little more than another nation’s foolish application of expansionism backfiring. However, this soon changed, as the civil government of Cripistan collapsed and their territory proved so vulnerable to foreign expansionists. With great quantities of troops already mobilized to suppress revolts in Old Arterus, it seemed that coincidence was urging Errikan involvement.
With limited discussion and great planning, the first Errikan invasion force left for the western coast of Cripistan.
Greetings.
The Errikan Empire has come to occupy and restore stability to the area, bringing Errikan culture, order and civilization. We wish for the cooperation of all local peoples, which will ease the transition and ultimately benefit everyone. Those who cooperate can expect fair and equitable treatment, as well as quite preferential circumstances in the end.
Please respond promptly.
Invasion Fleet, off the coast of the western Cripistan
“Sir.”
“Yes, Captain?” the officer responded, turning to the man who had just addressed him. He was a relatively old man, above average height for an Errikan, which certainly is saying something, and wore a perfectly-kept uniform.
“We have established a solid beach head, and are actively moving troops onshore. We should be five corps ashore by nightfall.”
“Excellent,” he said, placing the papers in his hands on a desk beside him, “This region should fall rapidly, which will allow us to further stabilize this sector. Check on our men in communications, see if they have been able to contact any of the nearby Cripistanis. Some cooperation on the part of the locals would be helpful in fully utilizing this territory.”
“Yes, sir.”
With a brief exchange of salutes, the young captain was gone, and the general turned back to the view of the coast. From his position on the bridge of the flagship, he had a great view of the proceeding Errikan operations. Of course, such invasions were second nature to Errikan troops, who had fought on shores from Youlando to Arterus to Africa. They were tough, organized, and professional.
This should be nothing new.
Red Tidean Beachhead...
The screams of "READY!" echoed throughout the land as the sun began too shine and the clock ticked at ten seconds until dawn.
"SET!" The voices cried at five seconds.
"FIRE!" The voices screamed at 0 seconds.
And at precisely dawn, the Red Tidean Field Army unleashed a massive artillery barrage on the local militia's line too the NorthEast of the beach. The Field Army had at its disposal, 3,500 122, 152, and 203 millimeter heavy artillery guns and another 1,000 105mm artillery guns. Sprinkled liberally amongst this artillery tube-heavy army were countless numbers of 88mm mortars.
The artillery rumbled on and on, chewing up the dirt, creating large craters wherever the shells landed. Some shells detonated on impact, some burrowed into the ground before exploding, and others detonated at a optimum altitude in the air, spraying whoever was below it in lethal shrapnel. It was the ultimate application of Red Tides standard military doctrine, best summed up as: 'There is no such thing as overkill.'
The bombardment went on for a hour and forty minutes before the guns fell silent. No sooner did they do so, then did 1,230 Artillery Rocket Launchers opened up on the same places plastered by the tube artillery and the places slightly behind it. The launchers spewed out rockets, which flew for kilometers upon kilometers before tipping over and hitting the ground with earth shattering booms. This went on for another twenty minutes. Then everything was silent for precisely five seconds inbetween the two lines.
Five seconds after the rockets had done their damage, the engines of three Armored and one Mechanised divisions roared into life. From the perspective of the militia, looking towards the Red Tidean lines, it appeared as if a metaphorical wall of tanks and armored personnel carriers were moving across the now blasted hellscape. The XHSPTD-01s, better known as 'Medusa' Tank Destroyers) led the assault, a battalion of 30 of them consisting of the spearheado of the offensive.
Immediatly behind the Medusa's were a mix of MBT-66s and APC-45s. The MBT-66 was the workhorse of the Red Tidean mechanised formations. The APC-45 was the primary infantry carrier for the Red Tidean Military. The APC-45s twin 30mm autocannons were originally developed to sweep low flying aircraft from the sky, but were found to be equally lethal against infantry and light vehicles.
Behind the mechanised formations would come mixes of armored vehicles, supply vehicles, and troop trucks, making sure the offensive came through.
The aim of the offensive was obvious: seize the large port city located 60 kilometers to the North East of the Red Tidean beachhead, given the type of opponents the TSRT was expecting too face, it would be a cakewalk.
The few rebels that had decided to stay and try to fight the TSRT were wiped out during the first artillery strike. Besides that, there was no opposition. With the size of the TSRT's forces on the island, there were no rebels that would have a chance against them.
Innocent blood had been spilled, and the local rebels had vowed to avenge these people, even if it meant to fight to the death. The Orbathain forces swept through the airfield, quickly destroying any resistance that remained. The battle was quick, a suprise attack. The Orbathain soldiers made it out with only one injured. During the battle, several rebels were captured and were brought to the holding cells inside the airport. An Orbathain Major walked in to interview them.
''Where are the rest of your kind, answer now or face my weapons.''
He roared this with anger, showing his assault rifle to the rebels to show that he meant business.
The airfield was considered secure, soldiers had taken up defensive positions around it. Before long, C-5 after C-5 began landing. At first they brought mostly equipment and engineers but as time went on, pieces of an entire division began to show up. By the afternoon the next day, the 3rd Division had landed.
Leaflets and aid packages were dropped over towns and cities as a symbol of goodwill towards the people. The leaflets informed the people that by providing information to the Orbathian soldiers about where the rebels were would get them a cash reward.
Soon, convoys of vehicles began leaving the airfield, heading east to secure the newly created border. They traveled with caution however, they had received tips that rebel forces might attempt an ambush.
There was no resistance as the vehicles rolled across the grassland leading up too the port city. The artillery had done its job, killing those militiamen who might have resisted Red Tides assault. The forces reached the city in a matter of hours, ahead of schedule. Behind them, two of the Field Armies nine Motorised-Infantry Divisions moved into position too defend their supply lines flank.
When the reached the edge of the city, the Mechanised Division stopped while the three armored divisions swung to the east, heading directly south of the port city. Two of these divisions took up position of the city directly to its South while the third swung into position to the City's NorthEast. The city was now cut off too all ground transportation.
Then a radio broadcast, overriding the various local militia and private broadcasts, was sent into the city.
In the local language it said: "This is the Armed Forces of the Totalitarian State, to the citizens and militias of [insert city name]. You are surrounded! If you do not surrender, we will come in and wipe you out! If you wish too live and you are militia, lay down your arms and walk towards our lines with either a white flag or your arms raised. If you are a civilian and you wish too live, simply hold your position and take cover in a cellar, do not resist us. You have 24 hours."
The broadcast then began too repeat, it would repeat for the next twelve hours.
"This could be a trap."
"I seriously doubt it," one officer chimed in, "These people know the sort of forces that they are facing, so they know that any betrayal of this degree would be suicide."
"Perhaps," the first officer retorted, "These people think that such a betrayal would be the only way to not be overtaken, given the forces they are facing. They are not familiar with us, so perhaps they think us the sort to fold when there are hostages. Besides, who is to say these are perfectly reasonable people?"
"It is certainly worth attempting," a third officer said, interrupting their argument, "We have no reason to doubt them at this point, and, so long as we do not throw caution to the wind, we should be relatively secure."
"What do you have in mind?"
The General's question, breaking the silence he had maintained throughout the conversation, made it clear what plan he was to go with.
Cripistani Beach, 680 hours, D-Day
Several dozen Guardsmen were exploded into little neat piles of mush in the LCVPs, and the Imperial Guardsmen expected heavy resistance from the rebels. When they land, they see nothing other than corpses strewn about and bloody water lapping at the shore. There are no sounds whatsoever, and an eerie silence falls over the battleground. The dreadnought ceases to fire, and the Guardsmen crowd the beach. Then, the war machine starts up again. The Guardsmen secure the area directly surrounding the beach, and others scramble up the slopes to the cliffs, where the Stoklomolvi flag is planted into the ground.
Meanwhile, the Type 152 Infantry Fighting Vehicles arrive, and are driven up the artificial titanium bridge that was erected moments ago. Imperial Guardsmen dig away at the sides of the cliff to tear down the stone and create a natural ramp. Elsewhere, the nearby Cripistani village is assaulted by the Imperial Guardsmen. Several IFVs blare out propaganda messages with megaphones.
"We have come to liberate you from the oppressive Cripistani government. Stand down and you will be unharmed."
Military Base near The Harbor of the Wind
The defenses had barely been set up as Watson watched the columns of tanks and troops roll into the village. The artillery positions had been well entrenched and the trenches for the troops had been successful set up in cocentric arcs. Watson had to think more unconventional for this defense due to lack of armor and lack of professional troops. He had dug several large holes filling them with gasoline from the cargo ships and putting the mines in with them. He had hoped that this would added to the explosive power of the mines and damage the tanks even more. He had also taken all of the smoke grenades from his troops and opened them. Their smoke grenades had been made with white phosphorous which once lit would burn through anything not covered with thick armor. He had put the white phosphorous into two pits right behind the grid of work of mines and put c-4 underneath the pile of white phosphorous so that once exploded into the air it will rain down on the enemy. Luckily for him the sea provided a very good wind blowing down hill to were the troops would be advancing, which meant that the smoke made as a side effect of lighting the phosphorous would further impede the enemy by making it hard for them to aim at his troops. Two of his artillery pieces had been moved to the back of the trenches and aimed down hill so they could be used as anti tank guns. Watson order the troops into position handing out weapons, ammunition, and grenades. He had given the anti tank weapons and the machine guns to his marines and spread them through out the trenches hoping that they would lead the Guardians to victory. He had 10 mortars set up near the back of his base along with the three artillery that was not moved since the firing on the cargo facility. He also had his mobile artillery that was on his ships that fired in high arcs, which he hoped would be able to pierce the top of the turrets. He also had moved the kids and woman in his two anchored cargo ships in the harbor, but he had allowed the woman and kids that wanted to fight to stay and fight alongside their fathers and brothers. The pieces had been set with about 50 Preft marines and 2000 Guardian troops, he hoped it would be enough.
General Robertson had said that Preft's ships wouldn't be harmed by his ships but he still had to make sure that they would be sunk by Stoklomolvi's forces. He had gotten a meeting with the Stoklomolvi's diplomate and immediately repeated the situation he had already explained to General Robertson of Orbath. Orbathain Airfield
A group of troops had been left behind to defend the airfield in case of attack, although this was unlikely. Engineers worked around the clock, fortifying the area with tank traps, trenches, machine gun nests, guard towers, artillery emplacements and a new barb wire fence.
Outside the Airfield
Convoys heading east snaked along the roads. They were careful, keeping a watchful eye out for rebel presence. Each convoy had been tasked with stopping at a different city or town. When they arrived at their destinations, civilians crowded, wishing to give information on the rebels. They were in desperate need of money. The troops in these cities also noticed that there were power outages, damaged plumbing and wrecked or damaged buildings. Engineers set to work at repairing them. Doctors and medical staff set up clinics and began treating anyone who was sick or injured. Other soldiers distributed care packages.
The consensus among the people was that the rebels had not wanted to be trapped inside the peninsula with a growing number of Orbathian troops. The rebels had apparently grouped together and met in an area soon to be occupied by Stoklomovi and Orbath. Rumors were spread around that the rebels might have been preparing an attack but it was unknown against who or what.
The Orbathain commanders wasted no time. They ordered Commanche helicopters into the approximate area, hoping they might find the troops.
Heavily Encrypted Message to the United Republic of Anagonia
We have intercepted a transmission from General Watson the "Guardians" rebel faction, stating that you have been aiding them with munitions and how they would like to thank you for this. Once we were able to decode this poorly coded message, we have noticed that our nations have had no quarrels with one another. As such, since both of our nations are relatively hospitable towards the Guardians and spiteful towards the ECL and the SCLF, perhaps we could use our joint military capabilities and knock the competition off the board? Orbath, our ally, is nearby, and appears to also have no quarrel with the Guardians. As such, I will inform them of the proposed joint rebel extermination if it is approved. The Port City of Spencer
A large armored column of about 70 vehicles rolled into the city down the main South/Northbound highway, following this armored column were number upon number of trucks loaded with troops. The armored column headed straight for the harborfront and immediatly secured it. Red Tide now had a major port facility in Cripistan.
The columns of trucks broke off and spread out through the city. Some of the trucks contained no troops, but instead had giant loudspeakers attached to them. They began too blare out instructions too the citizens of Spencer.
"ATTENTION! ATTENTION! As of today, the following rules are in effect!"
The rules were simple, all guns were too be turned in immediatly, personnel not authorised too carry guns(pretty much anyone outside of the Military or the Intelligence Commissarat) were to be temporarily detained and confiscated of their weapons. There was to be martial law, with a strict curfew after 9:30 PM, enforced by the Red Tidean Military. Violators would either be arrested or executed(depending on the circurmstances) on the spot.
Radio's and TV's were confiscated, as was the Cripistani flag. Gas, rubber based products, and so on were too be rationed. City and community officials and leaders were given the choice of 'co-operating' or 'being replaced'(in much more threatening terms). Any criminals left in the cities prisons were quietly executed, taken too the ocean and dumped there.
Finally, two 'no-go zones' were established, where none-Red Tidean Personnel were prohibited. The first was the harbor front and the second was the airport, which quickly got its first aircraft occupants in the form of a regiment of Su-30RT Fighter Jets.
With the first objective secured, the TSRT could turn its attention on to the main objective: the rich oil fields in the center of Red Tides claim.
Somewhere in Orbath
President Baker is extatic everything he could do was done now it was up to his brave soldiers to finish the job.
"Thank you Commissar, I would like to extend a hand of friendship and offer both help in your blockade and support for your troops. I would also like to ask you to set up a Embassy within my country so our people can grow closer." President Baker said as he was leaving. At that time he also thought that while he was here he would set up an Embassy within Orbath and ask them to do the same within his country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Somewhere off the Coast of Cripistan
A small flotilla of international ships and Preft naval fleet had been waiting for the orders to continue safely to the coast. The blockade had stopped all resources reaching General Watson , whom had been just been promoted by order of President Baker. They all feared that they would get to The Harbor of The Wind to late and he new General would be dead.
The flotilla of ships consisted of 4 cargo ships, 2 missile cruisers and 1 Vertical/Short Take Off and landing(V/Stol) carrier named the PSS Freedom. Admiral Fredrick Trance was the commander of the forces but once in Harbor of the Winds would be a sub ordinate to General Watson, who was an old friend. All of these ships were strictly under the Republic of Preft's control the other international ships were not counted due to the unknown destinations of these ships.
Harbor of the Winds
General Watson had not received the news of his promotion as his long range communication had been permanently knocked out by enemy mortar crews. He had managed to take out the enemy mortars by launching a couple of air burst rounds over their position but not before two of his artillery guns in the back of the base had been knocked out along with 4 of the mortars. This was not good as the enemy had been slowly advancing from the village and the lost artillery support and lost time would hurt his position. The enemy armor collumn had support of SCLF troops, but not enough to make the white phosphorous as effective as he had initiatially hoped so he waited hoping that one of the Arva IV tanks would roll over one of them and the c-4 within the pits and the phosphorous would act as a massive shaped charge burning a hole in the armor and destroying the tank.
OOC: The base is 120 yards from back to the edge of the frontal trench and 20 yards wide in the back and 75 yards wide at the front. The mines end of the mine field is 200 yards from the frontal trench and the phosphorous pit is directly in between the mine field and the trench. I had no idea that there were other countries sending me help, I assumed the support sent by other countries were to other rebel groups. Please if you are supporting my troops please post something that says that your cargo or naval forces, that are now allowed through the blockade, speed to the aid of General Watson.
Operation Thunderstorm: Zero Hour
The massive fleet of ships arrived on station not thirty-six hours later, the XCV-1 Carrier Independence moving astern to Guardian Territory in the guise of a Pirate Patrol fleet. The Iowa Battleships Demonti and Surena moved alongside the huge super-carrier with ease, updated with the most advanced technology to date. An E-2C Hawkeye, codenamed Hellgate for this operation, was already on station monitoring naval and air activity near the fleet. Two flights of F-35 Joint Strike Fighter's were making way to finish their preliminarily patrols around the area.
Behind the Independence was two CG-47 Ticonderoga's Cruisers flanking the Battleships, flanking them in a square formation and finishing off the surface contacts was four DDG-51 ARLEIGH BURKE-class Destroyers. One FFG-7 OLIVER HAZARD PERRY-class Firgate maintained careful watch ahead of the fleet. Beneath the fleet itself was two SSH-ASX Hydrogen Attack Submarines (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679252&page=1#1147873871) to provide fleet defense and counter-detection. Flanking them in varying formations were one SSN-21 Seawolf-class and two Project 671 Victor III Class Attack Submarines to provide deocy's for any submarines in the vicinity. While the Victor's were known for noise, they could go stealth. And that was the purpose for them here.
To the west was the two LPH-2 IWO JIMA class Light Carriers and, two CG-47 Ticonderoga Cruisers, four DDG-51 ARLEIGH BURKE-class Destroyer, one FFG-7 OLIVER HAZARD PERRY-class Frigate, with underwater defenses consisting of the SSBN-726 Ohio Class, one SSN-21 Seawolf-class, two SSH-ASX Hydrogen Attack Submarines, and two Project 671 Victor III Class Attack Submarines for decoy. Various types of helicopters provided the Light Carrier defense screen, as with a few Harrier fighters.
Ten Transport ships consisted in the fleets with five each in both fleets, both to provide assistance to damage and hide the Marines that were stationed to begin landings soon. It was about Noon when the countdown timer began, and a message was sent to General Watson to forward landing coordinates ASAP.
Fleet Admiral James Admir was in control of the entire operations involving sea and air. He was to manage and control the situation to assist General Henry Furbanks in his initiative on the ground at all times, and to mobilize proper defenses. Right now, in the Operations Room on board of the Independence, General Furbanks was sitting to the left of the Situation Table. In front was a wide screen with satellite imagery depicting various events occurring in up-to-date time.
"As of right now our main concern is the landing and establishment of the Forward Headquarters. We would need to either take or construct an airfield to support my troops." Henry crossed his arms as he viewed the intelligence, noticing the Red Tide forces to the west. "My main concern is Red Tidean forces. I don't want a skirmish with them."
"I agree," responded the Fleet Admiral, "the Anagonia took massive damage last time we encountered a fleet battle. That was several decades ago, and even now the scares on her hull are still visible."
"Quite a mess that was," Marine Commander George Xanzabar noted, "I remember that operation too. I was only a grunt then but those damn Red's did some damage to us."
Henry looked to James, "So I suppose we keep out of their way unless they get in ours?"
"Yes, if at all possible. With one fleet I doubt we'd find any resistance, but I'd like the Anagonia and Freedom Battle Groups on station until we decide anything against the Tideans." James Admir took a sip of his water. "Also, I'm taking note of the rebel movement in the east. I haven't picked up any Guardian movement at all."
"What's up with that?" George asked.
Henry shook his head, "Dunno. But I believe we should be in force just in case anything is up."
"Is all the Construction and Medical teams on standby?" James looked to Henry.
"Yes, ready and willing to die for the cause, so to speak."
"Good, then were ready."
Operation Thunderstorm: Phase Two
General Henry Furbanks was loaded onto UH-1 Huey Helicopter headed for the Guardian shore, flanked by two AV-8B Harrier's from the Light Carrier group to the West. Already Henry could see Transport ships heading for the shore, followed by one of the Battleships to provide shore cover if it needed. A squadron of five F-35 Joint Strike Fighters went ahead of the shore landing party to help coordinate the troops and provide support.
Also below, the loud thump-thump-thump of four AH-1W Super Cobra's that would be close air support assets. They hurried ahead to scout the shore and navigate the terrain for possible threats. Henry had already made a landing spot five miles from the shore, near a town that he believed he spotted. The F-35's would do a fly-over of the town to confirm his suspicions, then the Super Cobra's would scout the town for possible threats.
Already a transport had landed as his Huey passed the shore, two M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle's with troops loaded and Marines flanking moved ashore to begin the process of taking out hostiles. More Helicopters of various kinds came about, the Light Carrier Fleet joining the Independence and her fleet to begin major operations. Henry could tell, as he landed in a field, that this would be easy.
Our satellites have shown that General Watson's long range communications have been knocked out of commission by enemy artillery fire and is unable to contact anyone unless by short range radio. We have also confirmed that enemy forces have not over run his position and assure you that our forces will not be annihilated. Our carrier has just reached range to support Watson's forces and will do so immediately. If you wish to contact any Guardian Forces and make known your friendly feelings towards them the code is GTWP19, for General Travis Watson, Preft, and the 19 cities within Preft territory in control of Guardian Forces. They will remain hidden and use Guerilla Tactics to attack your forces if you do not make it known you are friendly. Thank you for your support and I pray for the safety of both of our forces.
A Cobra flew over the Bradley he was in as he read the transmission. Understanding the confirmation he relayed a short-wave radio transmission that would be repeated with every squad, every command, every vehicle, and every asset under Anagonian Command. The codeword, GTWP19, would be sent at random intervals with a message of peace and a desire to help. Now Henry Furbanks grabbed his AK-47, custom, and headed for his troops. Not everyone carried such a rifle, of course. He just preferred the accuracy.
Miles ahead a company of Bradley Fighting Vehicles neared one of the cities under Guardian Control. With them were trucks filled with medical supplies and construction equipment. This was the first wave, of course, one of many. So, with a proper welcome, they sent the codeword over short wave. A Harrier flew past the company to verify the message was received, and to see the response.
Forward Operating Base
A few of the main objectives had been completed already but there was still one major one left. A port city lie almost directly east of the Orbathain FOB. The port needed to be captured and secured. If this could be done, Bob Hope Classes would be able to unload their cargo, various tanks, troops and equipment. Another whole division. With the majority of the troops in the western area, making friends with civilians, the job would be left to the Orbathain Air Calvary.
The rotors on the helicopters, Blackhawks, Highwind and Black Panthers spinned, cutting through the growing darkness. Orbathian commanders had chosen to make this a night-time operation, to ensure that their would be a minimum number of civilians.
The troops sat inside, laughing, singing and preparing their weapons. Each soldier wore a jet black combat uniform with black knee and elbow pads. They had a black tactical vest and a black helmet. Each soldier had a night vision monocle.
The helicopters flew, only for about a half hour. Soon they found themselves hovering above the large concrete piers that jutted into the ocean. Black Panther helicopters circled the area, searching for targets. The Blackhawks and Highwind dropped ropes from their respective exits and the soldiers fast roped onto the ground below, black combat boots thudding against the ground. The soldiers quickly spread out, combing through the port, looking for any signs of life. The helicopters circled overhead, shining spotlights onto the ground below and preparing to engage any enemy.
He drank coffee in the early hours of the morning to contain grogginess as he reviewed the days events, and the war Anagonia was involved in. The most prominent Military advisor's present was Grand Admiral Victor Flideski, Grand General Estaban Uragrey, and Grand Marshall Justin Conners.
In the middle of the round table where they sat was a configuration of twelve flat-screen computer monitors positioned so the viewers could easily access the touch-screen controls. The Map of Cripistan was in view, and the Nations involved. Dunan just sipped his coffee, watching Anagonian forces in real-time get themselves involved in one helluva world delimma.
"I believe our best bet is to maintain Naval Superiority until the time comes," remarked Grand Admiral Flideski. "With the Anagonia and Freedom en-route with Battle Fleet assets, we should be able to knock all opposition out of the water."
Grand Marshall Conners nodded. "Yes, but remember our objective here is to take control of at least half of the country. We need that much so a government can be formed and the raising of a proper military established."
"Our objective gentlemen," started the Chief Governor, making all heads present turn, "is to push all nations out of the way, any way we can. If we use nuclear weapons, fine, then do so. Our objective is to take control of this country from the grips of nations who know nothing about nation-building." He tapped on the screen, revealing a simulation of battles, and the ultimate victory. "Our objective is to not allow any outside influence stop us when we enter, take control, create a government, and leave."
"Kind of a pull-out strategy, isn't it?" Grand General Uragrey remarked. "It would take years, even decades to achieve this with so many military strengths present. Not including the tideans, this simulation was created to last twenty years. Imagine the costs, Chief Governor."
He quietly thought, taking another sip of his coffee. Then, he broke the silence, bringing back the map. "I agree, it is. But I do not fool myself into thinking this is something that will be easy. After all, every nation who took involvement so far has pummeled each other just because of a certian faction. We took the obvious route, took the least present faction, and are now making movements to help this faction." He pointed a finger at the screen in front of him while holding his cup, "That nation needs more than incompetent National Leaders making decisions for one side of the story. Every civilian there has a side, and has a purpose. Anagonia came about through War, then Unity of seven great Factions. Why can't these people?"
Victor Flideski looked puzzled, "Bring them all together?" He shook his head, "Anagonia took centuries to come to peace, then centuries more to become a massive Power of Might and Superiority of and by its People. We combine Communism, Imperialism, Confederate Structure, Federalism, Democracy, and many other ways of government. That is our strength, strengths of opposites." He sighed and pointed at the Chief Governor, then the screen. "Them, no, Them I don't know about. They are not my people, nor my cause. I come from the Soviet Cause, the cause of the Worker and Farmer. They probably have some resemblance, but not anything severe. It would take centuries to even bring them together like we did."
"Not exactly," remarked the Grand General. "If we do it the right way, we could bring them together through war. Remember the tales of the Imperial Wars? Drekamythia and Rudavia had been at war for centuries until the Kingdom of Altar stepped in. They chose to assist the Commune of Rudavia, ending the Imperial Age." He smiled, "They stepped in because they saw that one cause was more important than the other. Rudavia wanted unity and peace, Drekamythia wanted war and strife. Conquest, if you will. Altar stopped that, came in, barged with weapons and soldiers, and forced Drekamythia out of the Anagonian Lands. That's how this seems to me."
"We are Altar and the other Nations are Imperials? Hell, that's a far stretch to me." Justin Conners shook his head. "Look, even though I enjoy my province's Imperial Government, I don't mean to defend the actions of the past. I mean, hell, we'd be Imperials just involving ourselves in something like this."
"No, No, I think Estaban has a point." Dunan finished his coffee, "Anagonia came to unity by the nations involving themselves in the affairs and wars of others. Eventually we became who we are today, without sacrificing our histories. Them, yes, them I can see coming together like that." He sat back, the hue of the screens not reaching the darkness covering his face. "But, this will need to be planned accordingly. It must be perfect, if anything could be perfect, and must go with the flow of the People. Intrusion, propaganda. Maybe even a few radio broadcasts to get the party started. Unity for the Country, Freedom from Oppression. That would be the news."
"Something like the Twenty-Year war, huh?" Conners remarked, looking at the screen closely. "Maybe it will work. Maybe the People will rise up and do this themselves. Even if it means against us, we would have done our job."
"Even against us, yes. We are not to intrude on the will of the People." Underneath the darkness a grin appeared. "But we can introduce a few desires to that Will, make it seem more of a way to go. Just to get it started, of course."
"Yes, of course, just a hint of it to the People." Grand General Estaban Uragrey stood and nodded to the Chief Governor, leaving.
The rest sat there for what seemed like an hour, then stood and left. This would need to be the most precise plan ever convised by human hands. It would need to be silent, deadly, and accurate. More powerful than a Nuclear Bomb and more provocative than a Revolution. It needed to be something more, something brilliant, and something that no one could resist. It needed to be, basically, the starting of a New World Movement. Maybe even, a New World Order.
Guardian Controlled City (Granz)
The welcome of the Anagonia forces was one of a liberating army. There was signs of peace all over the buildings and many of the Anagonia Troops were grabbed into embrasses and "forced" to sample the local liquor. It was a scene only seen in old WW2 videos. One thing on everyone's mind was General Watson and his brave soldiers in the Harbor of the Wind. Watson had become a International hero and savior of the Guardian forces, the story of his refusal to bombard the village and doom himself to an attack that at that current moment could be the end of him made him loved by the masses that now were seeking protection. His face and name was a rallying image that recruited whole cities under the Guardian's. Unfortunately just as his own leaders couldn't neither could the Anagonia forces acknowledge whether his health was good or not. As the festivities died down the leader of that towns Guardian Troops reported to the local Anagonia Troop commander that while 19 cities are in control of the Guardians there were several that were not and should be were of anyone in Guardian uniform unless of course they know the code. They also told them that they would have to change the code to AP19G and that it should only be sent over the channel 12 and 43, which were Guardian secure channels, due to the fact that the massive flooding of the channels with the old code could get the enemy suspicious and they would attempt at using it if encountering their forces. A for Anagonia P for Preft 19 for the cities under its control and G for the Granz the first city in which the Anagonia and Guardian troops met. With that the troops dismissed the meeting and continued with the new job of issuing supplies.
Harbor Of the Winds
Things had been going rather badly for General Watson, the Arca IV tanks had no problem clearing the mine field for the other armor, although they had lost about 3 Arca 1 tanks before they attempted a new tactic. Also a set back was that the Arca Tanks had avoided the phosphorous pits and he had to use them to take out some of the Armor Personel Carriers, which the pits had destroy 4 of those. The Artillery had been firing none stop since the battle begun but still had not scored a direct hit on the Arca IV tanks that ravaged his lines. Even the horizontal firing Artillery had little effect and only succeeded in dislodging the tracks of one but because they tank crew could still fire it soon knocked out both of those positions. Things had gotten desperate as his artillery fired closer and closer to his troop positions, luckily the PRG's had a healthy effect against the other armor and was taking out several of their troop carriers but when a position became to hard for the enemy to tank they would send in the one mobile Arca to fix that. The first and second trench and been evacuated and the SCLF troops had taken up roost in the first trench. Casualties were rising at an alarming rate due to their lack of armor and General Watson knew there was little hope. He had his radio operators tell his troops on his cargo ships to unload and secure both the destroyed Facility and the Village which they had confirmed they had, but with heavy casualties. 500 troops were wounded in the activity and he had order 500 of the marines to stay and make sure the village was secure while the other 500 remaining make their way up to the military base. He also put out a distress signal on all short range radio channels for help and he left the command room and grabbed an assault rifle, it was time to for him to face the enemy on the front line, his usefulness in the command room was done. He arrived in the center of his trench were the Arca IV tank was taking apart any resistance his force could muster. A tank shell had just burst right in the spot he was heading. He could see the fear of the Guardian Forces in that position, they were read to run. He also saw the SCLF troops charging up the hill and Watson just took off jumping in the trench and firing his Assault rifle. His action rallied his men and repulsed their attempt on the line. The Arca Tank again fired its main gun causing shrapnel to rip into the back of his shoulder, he responded to this by picking up a grenade and rolling it down into the other trench, in which it exploded taking out 3 men standing in the area. His action was not enough as 2 Arca 1 tanks made it up the left side bringing troops along with it, also on the right side an Arca IV tank made its advance on the trenches. He told his men to withdraw to the buildings and looked up hoping for a miracle. Just then he saw 2 Harrier jets stream over his position, the jets quickly annihilated the armor and any troops left within the trenches, unfortunately this meant any Preft and Guardian troops that had managed to stay within them. The fighting still continued however as the SCLF foot soldiers still remained. The fighting continued as Watsons forces started to take his defense around his command center which was right in front of his artillery. They manage to hold out just long enough for the Preft marines to reach him, the battle was won but at what cost. General Watson soon passed out from exhaustion and blood lost from the wounds he had sustained, he was quickly given blood taken from the closest Guardian soldier, this risky blood transfusion ended up saving his life and uniting the Guardians further.
Casualties For Guardians
1000 Soldiers dead
500 Wounded
Casualties for Preft
OOC:
I'm going to assume I get the information I need.
IC:
Harbor of the Winds. General Henry Furbanks tapped the shoulder of a passing Guardian whom he assumed was high ranking. He asked quickly where this was, how long, and how his forces could assist. He got the information and logged it into GPS, signaling for the Battleship Surena was dispatched with two Submarines and two Destroyers, with a Light Carrier, to assist in the Harbor of the Winds. Wherever this was, it was about to get very bloody. And, also, if it was a Harbor they could more easily unload supplies.
Afterward he watched and enjoyed his fellow soldiers in their time of festivities. The city was marked as Alpha, and he watched in the darkening sky as two Harriers flew above some buildings and through two Apache Gunships, expertly timed to avoid a collision. That was something that would need to be reported. Though, he assumed, it was for show.
Quickly marking the sites in the city that needed the most medical attention and engineering assistance, he dispatched 2,000 Engineer's and Medical Personnel with Mobile Hospitals and Construction Equipment to begin the long rebuilding of this city. It was the first of many, and wouldn't be last. He placed two Cobra Gunships on constant patrol and ordered in the nearby field that an Airfield be constructed. The Fleet Admiral sent his party of Engineer's to begin that task.
Soon, tomorrow or the next, huge cargo planes would come with the Heavy Armor that the Marines needed to confront the other nations involved. Beyond that Abrams Tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles would do. He tasked a Huey to give him an escort of the city, letting him descide where to put up guard posts. Military Police were dispatched to assist local police or militia in law and order, if any. If not, they were to maintain the Freedoms of Civilians in Anagonia's Laws (similar to the United States) but punish law breakers by sending them to whomever in the city was responsible for law breakers.
Henry would not have disorder in the city. He would, however, like to see more nights of drinking. The people in this city were under no constraints and would go about life as usual. It would be as if the Anagonian's weren't here. Soon enough supplies would be readily avaliable that Anagonia wouldn't need much assistance from the locals.
As an afterthought, Henry informed one of the Military Police to get a Militia started of all who could volunteer. The task of making the People ready for Defending themselves proper would go underway. If there was already a militia, they were to be trained. Anagonian Republic Marines, the best of the damned best, would be able to do that.
Satisfied, he went into a local bar and enjoyed the civilian welcome. He drank his fill, which wasn't much, and went back to business. So far, patrols of Humvee's and Bradley's were present on the streets, and Helicopters in the air would provide eyes just in case any disturbance was seen. Until this city was contained in proper order, they would wait for the right time to continue.
OOC: Sorry about predicting enemy casualties. I fixed the mistakes that you caught and thanks
Harbor of the Winds
General Watson woke up on board the PSS Freedom, to the face of his old friend Admiral Fredrick Trance.
"Hey Fred, always coming just in the nick of time to steal all of my glory huh?" Said Watson as he painfully attempted to prop himself up.
"I thought I would lend a little hand it seemed like you had them beat by yourself." Replied Trance.
The conversation continued in this fashion up until they were interrupted by a mid shipmen.
"Sir there is a large naval fleet coming our way." The midshipmen said.
"Hopefully this is the Anagonia's but you never know. By the way your a general and a national hero. It also seems that sense the blood transfusion the people here are claiming that you are native Cripistani."
"You tell me this at the end of our conversation, you a**. And how do they know about the blood transfusion?"
"Naturally I told them and you should be nicer to the guy that saved your butt." Trance said as he left the room.
It had been like he said, the Guardians had been putting out propaganda, ever since the victory at the Harbor of the Winds was broadcast from Freedom, that General Watson was a Cripistani who migrated to Preft and was back to establish security in his home country. None of this was true of course but it didn't matter to the Cripistani's that flocked to the Guardian's banner. Everywhere it seemed more and more people joined up because of the kindness General Watson and Preft showed towards the citizens of Cripistan. The SCLF and lost hills seemed to be the only other opposition in the north to rebel factions of course besides the nations vying for control that is.
The Battleship Surena, with two Frigates and Submarines for protection, proceeded towards the Harbor of the Winds without haste. On board the Battleship was carried one landing craft with about forty Republic Marines and an attached V-22 Osprey painted Marine Black for Operations Missions. On the Bridge, Captain Samuel Lukes viewed the computer screen in front of him. It showed the radar display and a few vessels near the location of the Harbor of the Winds.
Samuel looked to the ComsOpOf, "Send the coded signal, once, on low transmissions."
"Aye Capitan, code Alpha-Papa-One-Niner-Gamma. Repeat once, aye."
"Alright, look sharp and maintain FletDefOne. I don't want surprises."
Afterward Samuel ordered the battleship closer to the fleet, and tasked the AXS-04 Triton's Anger Hydrogen Attack Submarine to surface near the fleet and provide cover for Fleet Operations. Having such a magnificent and advanced piece of Naval Equipment surface near you would be enough to enforce that business was the task of the day. Slowly the three huge turrets of the Battleship swiveled to aim at the ships, using GPS and Laser Recognition to acquire aim and trajectory. The shells were made to explode on impact with such force it could rip a frigate in two.
The V-22 was then launched to asses the fleet's air-to-air capabilities. If worse came to worse it would be protected by the Frigates Anti-Air defenses that added to the already bristling Battleship defenses. The Anagonian Captian was not taking any chances, and he was showing it.
Operation Thunderstorm: Phase Two: Forced Supremacy
Twenty miles from the Independence came a massive fleet of ships, all combined in force and power to make one of the most concentrated Republic Naval Formations ever sent onto the high seas. The two Super-Carriers Anagonia and Freedom sailed with four Battleships, two per Carrier, and about the same amount of ships as per the Independence Fleet Formation. However, in tow was massive cargo ships and two Naval Drydocks that would serve the purpose of giving repairs until a dry-dock could be constructed near Cripistan's shores.
Behind this fleet was one of the most powerful battle groups on the high seas. The Super-Battleship Freedom's Spear, an advanced Iowa Class refit, was flanked by four modified Iowa Class Battleships and six Updated and Modified Project 68 Modified Sverdlov Class designated Battle Cruisers that would provide the ultimate anti-fighter and anti-ship defense screen. Flanking them was eight DD-963 SPRUANCE-class Destroyers for a basic formed Destroyer Screen.
Beneath the Battle group was four Project 971 Shuka-B Akula Class Attack Submarines and two Project 671 Victor III Class Attack Submarines. One SSH-ASX Hydrogen Attack Submarine made up the perfect defensive screen should anything arise.
This battle group was tasked as a show-of-force fleet and for unloading all marine assets to strategic locations. They split from the main fleet, the Battleships themselves presenting a daunting target with advanced missile screening technology. Of course, to another nation, they would look like out-dated Iowa's. Little did they know the danger they'd be in should they decide to engage.
A location was tasked and set for troop deployment, about ten miles from another city that needed to investigated. Marine AAVP7A1 Assault Amphibian Vehicle Personnel (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/aavp7a1.htm) Troop Carriers were included in the Battleships launch bay, about two per battleship. These would provide basic armor for the Marines, including the V-22 Osprey's that would follow above for cover and evac.
To the citizens of the city that was closest to the sea it would have appeared to be an invading army from the depths of hell itself. Not only battleships, but Battle Cruisers with three turrets that looked vicious as well. Destroyer and submarines, all coming for them. Fortunatley the signal, AP19G, would be signaled forward in low transmissions to comfort the Guardians that this fleet was friendly, and meant no harm beyond finding locations for Construction and Medical work.
Admiral Trance watched in amazement and fear as the huge Anagonian War fleet completed its actions. The shear size and grace in which these complex maneuvers were being done was amazing. The Republic of Preft could never in its history hope to even accumulate this amount of war ships even with its entire budget since it came into existence added up. A big sigh of relief came when the Guardian code was transmitted to the PSS Freedom. Admiral Replied by sending a short message telling the ships that he was indeed a friendly force and then requested a meeting with the leaders of their military force.
"Add me onto the list of people going to that meeting." said General Watson sternly as he read the rather short list of military leaders from Preft which before his request only included Admiral Trance.
"You sure.."Admiral Trance could barely get out before being interrupted by General Watson.
"They will need proof that I am alive and capable to lead the Guardians also their broadcasting capabilities will include television and radio and not just restrict it to people with military grade radio's. Also we need to discuss with them the plan's for training our troops and the need to build highways and train tracks that were destroyed in previous wars."
"How do you suggest we do that?"Asked Admiral Trance.
"Just like we do it back home. An enlisted soldier will have to hold a shovel before he holds a gun. We make the militia's learn discipline through rebuilding their own country. It'll help them learn how to live in the megerist of situations and bind the platoons together before we train them how to fight. It will also show us what our logistical problems will be and the strengths of our own soldiers when pressed to their limits. Binding this country together with roads and tracks will provide more strength than any enemy will know." replied Watson as he saw the huge Naval Fleet approach his forces in the Harbor of the Wind.
"Prepare your best military dress Admiral cause we have to present our nation tonight. If this goes well, some day we could be looking at trade and further relations with Anagonia and not be a target of their colonial ambitions." Said Watson as he left the bridge going back to his quarters.
Walking into his quarters he realized that his Military dress had been utterly destroyed during the past events in the Harbor of the Winds. He had not had time to change out of them because of how fast the events had transpired. The uniform once pristine and official was splattered with blood and mud and torn in all sorts of places. Then there was a knock on the door and a private entered holding a uniform that appeared to be a Preft General's Dress uniform but the colors were not white and Black, they were Black and red.
"I'm assuming this is my new uniform, but what nation am I representing?" asked Watson.
The private shyly answered"It was decided that you will represent both the Guardian's and the Preft Nation as a the clenching sign of unity between the two nations. You are national hero in both states and are the only thing right now holding together what will be the new Cripistan." The private quickly handed over the uniform and left as the General, now fully aware of what his simple actions had caused him to become. He was in awe.
Hope I did well enough sorry if I didn't time to go study, if you want you can RP a little for me until then I have not much more foresight into what we are doing from here due to I am unsure of what you are planning.
He even showed him the Marines on board, whom were ready for battle. Afterward, he led him to the SitRoom and sat him down, near a flat-screen panel that came to life. General Henry Furbanks appeared with a Super Cobra flying off. Already, it looked, a the Military Base near City Alpha had been partially constructed. Supply trucks came to and fro behind him as he smiled.
"Ah, the Famous General Watson. Pleased to meet you. I see you represent both nations on this day. Good show."
Watson could, of course, do nothing but gawk at the massive outpouring of supplies that were coming back and forth. With all he had seen, surely he was in awe of this as well.
Furbanks chuckled, "To business then. Anagonia will rebuild your shattered nation and give your people the rights we give ours. Independence, Freedom, and Democratic Representation. Already in the city we came to, designated in the corner of this screen, a partial City Government has been formed. Your people are thriving there as we have rebuilt some of the highways and roads. Rail connections are next. All we need is your support, and we'll go from city to city and bring your Guardians, and your Nation, back into Unity."
Watson nodded, of course having his own thoughts but not expressing them publicaly. Who knew what he thought right now but himself? "I like that plan, same thing I was going to suggest."
"Good, then we have your support?"
"Yes, General, you do. One-Hundred percent."
"Excellent. Now, we'll be using the Harbor of the Winds as a base of operations. The Freedom's Spear will ensure no outside interference. I assure you, by next week, we'll have half your cities under repair and fifty-percent of the roadways repaired. Of course they'll need an overhaul, but we can manage. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have another city to liberate."
With a wave the screen went blank, and Watson was left to ponder.
The people of Spencer looked at the harbor. Thousand of RT soldiers and equipment were being unloaded. For awhile they thought maybe they could stage an uprising, and be independant again. Not now. They were massively outnumbered by weapons. They thought to themselves that they were now a posession of Red Tide, and would remain that way.
And then, it happened.
A radio tower was erected near City Alpha, now the city of Operations that had surely been liberated from oppression a day before. General Henry Furbanks went on Radio and Television to give a speech to Cripistan. It was due time to give hope to all people here, and due time to continue to force out all Nations opposing national unity.
He straightened his uniform for the television, and drank some water for the radio. Both would be sent out at the same time. A power generator had been placed to give strength to the signal to reach the entire island nation. It wouldn't be long before it would loop over other towers and into the homes of those capable of receiving it.
With the clearing of his throat, he began.
"People of Cripistan, fellow Guardians, and fellow People of Freedom. Anagonia is now here, the Liberators of the Guardians, and the givers of Freedom to the same. As of right now we have initiated Phase Two of Operation Thunderstorm. It is a massive undertaking to free you from the Oppression of your occupying outside nations that want nothing from you but your lands." He let that sink in for a few seconds, then continued. "I speak to you tonight as Commanding General Henry Furbanks, leading General of the Ground Initiative and commanding official of over two million soldiers, marines, and officers that will be in your lands to free you. One city in Guardian Territory, called Alpha by our Soldiers, and New Cripistan by the people in the city, has already initiated elections and voted it's own ruling Government into power, it's own Police Authority, and its own Militia that we are training. This is a success story, and altogether we are repairing their transportation needs and human resources needs." He smiled to the video audiance. "General Watson has given his blessing to our initiative, and asked all to come together in unity overwhelmingly so you can be free. Do not hesitate, rise up against your oppressors, or start your own governments, or come to the Guardians. They have our support, and we Support you." He nodded, "We will help all of you, fill your needs, and assist in your rebuilding. Let not false promises of other nations encourage you, for we are already here and proving we can help. If you don't believe us, come to New Cripistan, and watch your new Government in action." He pointed a finger sympathetically, "Your government, your rule, and your nation. Never forget that!" He sat back, and finished the speech. "Call out to us, signal for our help, and unite under the banner of hope. New Cripistan, General Watson, and the Guardians. Elect your government, elect your People, and start your nation. For we are here to help you. Never fear, for you have nothing to fear but fear itself."
With that the link ended, and the radio died. Henry sighed, rubbing his aged gray hair, and stood. Next was the city of Dognar, then Rashna. Soon enough four cities, with four elected governments, would choose their futures. With the nearly unlimited supplies and absolute lack of resistance present, no one could stand in their way. As a precaution though, he made a friendly call to Admiral Admir.
Battleship Ugondo, distpatched from Super-Carrier Freedom
The Battleship Ugondo, two Cruisers, and four Destroyers with a Submarine presence was dispatched to the Red Tidean border. They would ensure that no Tidean forces would cross or interfere in Anagonian Matters. Extremely close to the water boundaries, the Battleship made way for it's first patrol. It was to look as if entering, but avoid at the last possible moment. It was a test for the first patrol, then the second would resume normal patrols.
Anagonia had learned from past battles and would ensure that the Tideans would never make such a humiliation of the Navy ever again.
OOC: Cripistan, please review my last couple of posts and decide on the size of the rebel force and who they are attacking. I'm also looking for a bit of resistance in the port.
The message made it to the homes of some of the people in the Orbathian controlled areas. Orbath was unsure how they would react. Orbath had been nice enough, giving them aid, restoring their power and not enforcing any rules. What was Anagonia trying to do? Orbath had not meant any harm. As far as they knew, Orbath had the same plans as Angonia. Capture as much land as possible, stabilize the area and elect a government. The Orbathain commanders were not happy and decided to send Anagonia a message.
Greetings, we have seen your messages and wish to announce our intentions. We do not wish to oppress the people or gain land. We wish to secure as much area as possible and give it back to the people. We wish to restore what they had before the rebellion and give them what they have never had due to their former government. We would be more than happy to work alongside you in accomplishing this goal, However, we wish that you do not attempt to incite rebellions against us.
General Henry Furbanks was a busy man now. He was led to the Government Building in New Cripistan and met by the elected Mayor, who was guarded by two Anagonian Military Police. They didn't need to be there, however it was necessary per the General's orders. He looked at the Mayor and patted him on the shoulder, giving him thanks for helping his people.
"Ah, Comrade, what is it we have here?" Henry was still in his military outfit, helmet and all.
The Mayor looked suprised, "We have a message from one of the occupying nations. They state they have the same intentions. Arn't they supposed to be invaders?"
This was quite a dilemma. He wasn't expecting to have another nation with the same intentions. With every Imperial War that Anagonia had been involved, the nations occupying had always vied for wealth and land. He already guessed the Tideans were here for this reason, but didn't suspect the same for someone else.
"Perhaps they could be, and perhaps we have help." He shook the Mayors hand, who then nodded his head and left back to his own matters.
Minutes later he was in the Huey again, opening his laptop to send a transmitted reply.
Dear Orbath,
Perhaps it is with the Tidean Presence we assumed Imperial Intentions by occupying forces. If your statement is true then meet us in New Cripistan this night or following morning. I would like to discuss a possible joint venture to free Cripistan for the betterment of the People.
With your urgent reply,
Commanding General Henry Furbanks
IC: The Red Tidean Dreadnought Battlegroup mostly ignored the Anagonian ships. Even though they were still regarded as hostile, there was no state of war(or even cease-fire for that matter) declared against them. As long as the Anagonian ships didnt stray too far into Red Tidean waters-or attempt too interrupt Red Tidean supply shipments-they would be mostly ignored.
The one exception was that three ASW helicopters were sent about ten kilometers away from the small Anagonian battlegroup, staying within Red Tidean waters. These helicopters then began too drop SONAR bouys in the water, too detect submarines. Even from this distance, the Anagonian submarines were detected and noted.
It wasnt long before Red Tide had a precise number of the type and number of Anagonian ships, including their submarines.
Secret IC: Speaking of the Anagonians, the presence of them gave the TSRT's leadership a brief pause. The Anagonians were known too use nuclear weapons in conflicts. Red Tide had no nuclear weapons present in theater. Oh sure, they could try using their ICBMs as tactical weapons, but that would just deplete their strategic stockpile and migh be interpreted by the Anagonians as a strategic strike against them.
A decision was quickly reached. A batch of about ten R-80 'Kruschev' Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles(five A versions and five B versions)*, one hundred R-90 'Cleanser' SRBMs*, and four hundred nuclear artillry shells with yields ranging from .5 kilotons too 3 kilotons would be shipped too the Red Tidean controlled portions of Cripistan inside the regular supply ships that kept the Red Tidean Front supplied.
I love games! hehe.
Union Spaceport, United Republic of Anagonia, Republic Aerospace Command
On the launchpad was a Buran space shuttle and booster counterpart. Within the cargo-bay was a precise Military Instrument designed to keep track of everything within a specific area. Considering the Imperial Situation in Cripistan, the Republic Military had decided to launch the Buran Space Shuttle Explorer would be outfitted with a high-intense optical device that could simulate in real time and identify objects in a combat theater and relay it to Command for updated logistics. There were three of these devices available currently, two in orbit with satellites.
So, two days before the Anagonian involvement the Explorer was launched. The first two days were spent in the Space Station Apollo to stock up on supplies and fuel. Then it was to a Skylab Station to repair a Ion Beam lenses that Aerospace command had been pulling off for far too long. With any luck, these space-age devices wouldn't be used in any situation with Cripistan.
Three days into the deployment, and with the option of returning to Apollo for some gravity enjoyment and resupply, the Buran Shuttle Explorer tilted it's bay to the earth above Cripistan and opened the bay doors. At first, the device didn't work. But after a long hour of tampering by the Chief Engineer, it started and linked directly with the Super-Carrier Independence, and afterward to its sister-carriers. Every piece of equipment on the island nation, every nations people, even the coins on the ground were visible. With options as in infra-red and target designation available it would be a valuable asset.
However, two days into involvement the Explorer was ordered to maintain orbit above the Tidean sector and monitor the land area. Command had a suspicion all along that the Tideans were bound and determined to make Cripistan theirs, with any way possible.
Anagonia, thankfully for the Tideans, did include Nuclear Weapons in all Wartime scenario's, but did not carry them along on this op. It was mainly civilans here, even with the Tideans present. There was no need to kill innocents just to rid the land of one nation that could perhaps easily be taken out by the ground forces available.
So, here it was, monitoring the situation, changing from the Anagonian sectors to the Tideans every four hours. The land had been mapped, and the optics would notice any change. Unless it would be somehow taken out.
OOC: Anagonia: Just a FYI, I am not going too accept any use of that 'Ion Beam Cannon' this time around as it is outside the MT-Low PMT setting I RP with.
IC: The Totalitarian State's intentions was not too annex all of Cripistan. Rather it was too annex a small section of Cripistan, filled with the most needed resource in Red Tide: oil. Even though the Red Tideans were outnumbered by the Anagonians 2-1, they were not overly concerned about any conventional combat. In any attack, Red Tides current plans were too simply stay on the defensive and attrit away the enemy superiority in numbers, reinforcing as nessecary.
But that a Anagonian attack was a hypothetical possiblity, especially with the Anagonians pretty much on the other side of the country. The Anagonian space shuttle was noted and added too the index of space targets too be prioritised in the event of war, but was otherwise left alone too fulfill its job. Space was an international territory after all.
The space shuttle would note that there was a large Red Tide buildup of supplies behind their positions and a large buildup of forces all along the 'front'. It would appear they were preparing for a general push in all directions out of their current 90 kilometer long, 40 kilometer deep territory.
With all the different religions and beliefs, whoever was the leader, couldnt make all the people happy. Now, many people went to the streets of Spencer urging RT to rid of the Angorians. Many people even applied to join the RT military. Over 200,000 men and boys (at least 16 yrs. of age) applied for the right to serve under the RT military.
OOC: Lol, yea, last time I actually enjoyed that Ion Cannon. Don't worry, I just referenced it for old times sake. Good times, eh?
IC:
Commanding General Henry Furbanks noted the buildup in real-time on his laptop. The huey thumped it's rotors mightily towards the second city that had been liberated, Dognar. Placed as City Bravo in Military terms, they were welcomed again the same way, and then again established the same protocols with Militia training and the starting of a Government. Things were progressing well.
What disturbed Henry the most was the build-up of Tidean forces near their borders. Were they expanding, or were they preparing for a push to reach Anagonian-held territory? He didn't know. He did know, however, how to respond.
By this time C-130 Hercules Transports had been pouring into the now-complete airfield and were unloading the troops necessary to maintain proper control of the territories now being liberated. He assesed his options and ordered a company of Marines with Heavy Tank support to head to the eastern-most border to keep watch. With them, along the sea, would be a LPH-2 IWO JIMA class Marine Support Light Carrier with Harrier and Helicopter support to maintain Air Superiority.
It wasn't so much a move to entice action, just to deter it. Henry knew the Tideans weren't looking for war, but he was going to make damn sure they didn't push for any more land than they had. A friendly message was sent by Henry to the Tideans explaining his actions, saying only the company was there to "ensure proper border controls."
He was pushing his luck, and the company wouldn't reach the location until a few hours later. However the Light Carrier would, and that would make for an interesting situation.
"As long as they dont land inside our claimed territory(as shown on a previous statement), then okay."
End Message
The Anagonians would know when the Red Tidean offensive would begin... if they were paying attention to its wireless communication. As was typical of Red Tide, the wireless communications were easy too track and measure, but insanely hard too decrypt.
As the time for the offensive came closer, the radio chatter became quieter and quieter. This began too occur over the next two hours. And then it ceased completely for a minute or two, and then came a short burst from the approximate location of the Red Tidean Army Front HQ(which was located at the docks inside Spencer). This was followed by a series of bursts from the Field Army HQ's, which were followed by bursts from the divisions HQ's and so-on.
After these bursts died down, a final burst of radio traffic was sent all the way down the line from the Army Front HQ too the Battalion HQ's. Twenty seconds later, the 11,000 artillery guns and countless mortars spread along the front opened up.
"Holy Shit! Get the General now!"
Down on Earth
Henry was insanely intense on the situation, noticing the traffic due to the decryption techniques used by the cipher in the optics in orbit. Not all could be transfered into plain English instead of code, of course. But some things were, at least, heard. Then, as suddenly as it happened, everything died down. Then burst up, then died down again. In response he ordered two division of troops and armor to the front just in case. An hour later and the divisions nearing, the push happened.
By this time Company Commaner David Scotson had his Elite Marine Armor (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=spacemilitary&action=display&thread=1121709345&page=1#1121709345) on. It was similar to the Motherlands Galactic Brother, yet modified for Modern Technology combat. Not giving too much an advantage yet not giving away too much at the same time. Standard Marine Armor for the Special Ops and Elites, only about twenty-four in the entire company donned them. The rest wore the standard Marine outfit used by the old United States Marine Corps.
Beside David was a M102 "Dominance" Main Battle Tank (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679272&page=1#1103680494). There were four in his company as heavy armor support, the rest covered by ten M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles used for infantry support. The Tank Commander had forwarded a message from the Commanding General about the push, and he ordered a spread-out maneuvered along the flank leading to Anagonian Territory. He knew two divisions of heavy armor, artillery, and troop support were on it's way.
Already above were Super Cobra's and a F-34 Joint Strike Fighter for surveillance and cover fire. They prepared for the worst as the Light Carrier began to move away from a dire position and began grouping for submarine and surface support while launching extra Helicopters, Harriers, and JSF's to maintain the Ground Support as long as possible.
In David's hands was a standard CZ142 Enhanced Carbine/Rifle System (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679290&page=1#1103679539). On his back was placed ammo, gernades, and an extra M-16 just in case. This could get nasty very quickly.
Commanding General Henry Furbanks, at the same time as he worried about the Tidean Advance, was concentrating on the Anagonian Airfield that was now pouring supplies to the troops from the Motherland. Already countless C-141B Starlifters had landed, unloaded tanks, troops, supplies, and everything needed for reconstruction, and left for another run back to the airfield after resupplying. The Anagonian Presence was increasing and the troop count was mounting. So far, the Third and Fourth Ground Divisions were present, with the additional First Special-Forces Ground Division for Civilian Police and Control.
Anyone with eyes could see that Anagonia intended to win the country by force, or by numbers. There was no stopping the advance. Only a full-blown war with Red Tide would halt any advancement into Cripistan, and any full-blown revolution from coming forth. If Red Tide had eyes in the sky, which Anagonia believed, they could see the mounting troop presence easily enough.
It is with hope that we see the People to rise and remake their nation in their own image. Of course we support this state, and will moniter and offer Police and Military assistance to stabilize your state. If you desire Construction, Medical, Economic, or Engineering aid we will be happy to relocate supplies to your area.
However, we must emphasize the right of every Cripistanian to decide their own fate. So far, the cities we have liberated have been forming slowly a State Government that will eventually lead to the State of New Cripistan. We ask you to allow the People from up here their time to seek their interest, and that of the entire Nation. If you do not, and make intentions hostile, we will act in force to protect the Freedoms that we have made way to the Guardians and the People of Cripistan.
We must also warn you of the Red Tideans, for they are advancing on your state at an alarming rate. We have, so far, contained the advance to our areas. We are not sure we could assist you. We do apologize. But do not fret hope, I'm sure your military will seek ours out and we could advance as one in a joint-operation of Freedom.
Southern Plains of Guardian/Preft Territory
General Watson had finally been able to escape from the binding political aspect that had developed around his battle at the Harbor of The Wind. For the past days he had been stuck throwing support behind one political campaign or another and making statements on all media to promote the Guardian cause. It was tiresome and it had little to do with him, he was a soldier after all not a politician. He saw that his job was to fight battles not with tongue but with tactics.
Watson had managed to develop and train the first Guardian army which he quickly took on training missions on the plains of Cripistan in order for his armor to gain mastery of their vehicles on a terrain they were not used too. He had rough 1000 IDF Achzarit APC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDF_Achzarit) accompanied with 7 soldiers within each APC and 300 Type 42 medium tanks also his army had 50 mobile artillery guns and 100 mortar teams accompanied with 10 half track vehicles to carry the teams. The force also had been designed to be supplied by helicopter rather than any ground method allowing way his force to get further and further away without to much danger of being cut off from his supply lines or stretching them to long. As terms of an army it wasn't very large especially considering the huge forces Anagonia and Red Tide had deployed but its strength wasn't meant to come in numbers it was to come in flexibility and speed.
While on it's training run's General Watson heard about the massive Red Tidean attack on Anagonia forces and quickly despatched a message to General Banks.
Heavily Encoded Message
General Banks
My forces are finishing up maneuvers in the Southern Plains of Guardian Territory and would like to know if we could be of assistance. Give us order and coordinates were you need us and my Troops will move out immediately.
OOC:
It's Furbanks, but I suppose he and Furbanks got something goin on and they decided to exchange nicknames. Lol
IC:
General Henry Furbanks noted the message and nodded. He was proud of the Guardian improvement over the past few days. It was something to be proud of. But first, they needed to be tested. He decided to try some war-games first. They had the laser-tag technology already in place. The Red Tideans were countered so far, and there was no major threat as of yet, so time was on his side.
He sent a message for coordinates, not giving any information other than to be prepped with some type of new laser equipment and then engage the threat. What he wouldn't realize is that when the Anagonian Engineer's placed the laser-equipment on the tanks, they would exchange the rounds for blanks. Then they would be told that when they were hit a loud buzzer would sound and they would have to retreat back to the Engineer position for repairs.
It was like Star Wars, expect everybody lived. Of course, he didn't tell them it was training.
When they would arrive and get equipped, a platoon of Marines with unknown flags and fourteen Abrams Tanks were present. It would be a challenge.
Cripistan, 1700 hours, D-Day
The village is occupied with no resistance; the first thing that happens is the destruction of one hut. A number of hours later, an engineering platoon arrives with supplies, and starts digging up the ground to make room for an apartment. A rather large fusion reactor is airlifted from the super-dreadnought, and the captain, Johannes Pachelbel, boards a Hind helicopter and flies over to the small hamlet, which the Imperial Guardsmen have dubbed that Place Over There.
Meanwhile, several teams of mechanised infantry plough through the jungle. It takes a number of hours, but eventually the small team is able to detect radio waves emitting from the city of Webster. The infantry bulldoze an area of jungle, and the men camp there for a moment while waiting for the rest of the men to finish bulldozing the trees.
OOC: What is the terrain like in which we are having the training battle in?
IC: General Watson immediately proceeded to the coordinates. His armor and troop carriers had no problem moving over the plains to get to the Engineering Station and made great time, so much so that the engineers had not been ready to equip all of the tanks and troops with their new laser equipment. As they waited the Hue helicopter's that ran munitions and other supplies for their army brought in more and more rations and gas that was quickly stacked onto many of the roofs of the APC's of course these supplies would be dropped at a local command center before they proceeded into battle but it allowed for a larger amount of supplies to be with the army. General Watson had ordered as much as possible to be loaded on top of the APC but kept it to a limit so that traveling over any muddy terrain would be not to difficult. He knew that this would slow his time in which he would get to aid General Furbanks but he also knew that with the excess supplies he could last longer or help supply other Corps in operation with him.
It took time but the Engineers finally retrofitted all their equipment and General Watson and he headed off to the battle. He was read to fight, finally something he was bred to do.
Plains with hills made of rock and mud.
IC:
General Furbanks was in his marine outfit when he gave the order. The armor had been hidden behind the terrain of rocks and hills, but now swung over just enough to allow the Abrams turrets to aim at the APC's and begin to fire. So real was it that it actually recoiled the tank and a tracer of laser light flew to the APC's that were vulnerable. The Marines, using the ground for cover, began opening fire with the same effect and same laser-tracing fire towards the troops.
It was very concentrated and very precise. One Marine even fired a Bazooka round, a dud of course, that impacted beside an APC with a dummy explosion that couldn't harm a fly, but send laser waves to any hits registered.
The battle had begun, somewhat.
Chief Admiral James Admir confirmed the trade and that all Guardians had left the city, the convoy heading past the plains but far enough not to be seen or heard. They headed for New Cripistan, with Helicopter Gunships to provide protection from above, and death to anyone who'd hurt civilians.
The admiral sent a reply stating that it was ready for the States involvement, and all eyes watched and waited to see if they would need assistance.
OOC: I'll give a breakdown sometime soon tonight, for now, the forces are pretty large for each village, likely around a couple thousand soldiers with Trucks, HMMWVs, IFVs and tanks. Some air support if needed. Later they will thin out to allow themselves the ability to reach other villages but will be reinforced when the Naval Fleet arrives.
IC:
A message was quickly sent to the Anagonians.
Official Government Message:
We would love to discuss possible cooperation between our nations. At this time, our transport helicopters are currently out on a mission. I have ordered their return, however it will take about an hour before we are back in the air. We request guidance on where to go.
Port
''Hammer Head Nine, this is Command, message over.''
''Command, go ahead, over.''
''Hammer Head Nine, tell these boys to wrap this shit up, we need a couple choppers at H.Q. ASAP, over.''
'' Understood Command, I'll have a Highwind and its escorts return ASAP, doesn't look to be any resistance here,over.''
''Roger, out.''
With that message given, a UH-47 Highwind and two Black Panther helicopters turned and darted towards H.Q.
On the ground, soldiers quickly finished their sweep. The port was closed off at night anyway, so they didn't expect to find anyone. They headed for the entrances and set up checkpoints. As of tonight, for the next few days, the port would be closed. The helicopters that could remain landed in open areas, the rest returned to the FOB.
FOB
An seasoned General, General Burge was tasked with meeting with the Anagonians. He boarded the Highwind, flanked by several soldiers. The Highwind took off into the air, a Black Panther on either side.
As the helicopters took off, the General could see more C-5s landing at the airfield. Another division was arriving in order to secure an area to be held by Stoklomolvi and Orbath.
Colonel Joe Wilkins was tasked with meeting with the Obarthians at a pre-designated location. He boarded a MH-53E Sea Dragon, a huge helicopter for transport and night ops, with a squad of Republic Troopers in Red Shock Armor. They carried various weapons, including the famous AK-47's and M-16's. Minutes later the Sea Dragon landed, thudding up dirt, and Joe hopped out holding his AK-47 in tow. He waited for the meeting.
With the advanced optics in orbit, it wasn't hard to qualify targets from civilians due to records. So, the Independence launched three waves of F-18 Hornets loaded with precession guided bombs, the targets painted from orbit. The Hornets made a flyby over the Generals troops, then quickly unloaded the bombs on the targets. Thankfully no civilians were around, or so it seemed. Their mission over, the Hornets returned. It would be up to the Rebel Faction now to determine the casualties.
Webster, Cripistan, 0000 hours, D-Day+1
The mechanised infantry sit around near the outskirts of the city, with one 600mm towed artillery idle. The others readied 250mm self-propelled artillery, and all of them are calibrated towards Webster. Meanwhile, the rest of the Imperial Guard ploughed an area of around five square kilometres around the village of Soyuzkravich, or what the soldiers call, the Place Over There. The cliff-face, which was assaulted the previous day in the early morning, is secured, and the cliff itself is crumbled to become a gravel ramp. The bunker serves as a FOB for Stoklomolvi troop landings. Meanwhile, the men at Webster, with authorisation, begin to fire the cannons with disregard for civilian casualties. "If the people raise a great howl against my barbarity and cruelty," General Tecumseh Sherman once said, "I will answer that war is war, and not popularity seeking." This is the case for the Imperial Guard. The massive artillery cannons rumble to life, and the shells are spit out of the guns at amazing rates.
Because the civillians were evacuated long before the bombings, none were killed. As for the rebesl fighting for the city, over 2,000 were killed by the explosions. This allowed the Central Cripistani army to go into the city with 200 light armoured tanks, and 1,500 armed infantry. The city was easily taken with only 33 Central Cripistani(now C. Cripistn for short) casualties. The flag was hung up, and the city was under C. Cripistan control.
OOC: this will be my last post for tonight. Ill be back around 4pm EST. I got school.
The Highwind touched down and the rotors lost power slowly coming to a stop. The rear ramp extended and out stepped the General, flanked by 6 Orbathian soldiers.
They walked over to the Anagonian representative.
''Hello sir, I am General Burge, Orbathian representative. Please don't take my guards as an offense, they are here to protect me against rebels, not you.''
He chuckled a little.
'' I understand we both have the same set of goals. How can we work together to accomplish them?''
Then out stepped red-armored troopers. They looked like Boba Fett from Star Wars, expect their armor was crimson red, with a Hammer and Sickle emblem on the chest. They were the elites of the elites, professionals of the professionals. They guarded, they killed, and they never died until their mission was complete. Colonel Joe Wilkins could attest to that.
He met the hand of the representative from Obarth. 'None taken. As you can see I have my own. They were raised from childhood to become pure-bred warriors. It's best to stay on their good side."
He nodded, understanding the comment. "Yes, we do. I believe we can come to an understanding here. So far, the Tideans have shown no true intent on killing our troops. That can change quickly." He handed the Representative a PDA with a map of Cripistan. "Already a State has formed, and the Guardian State is next. We have repaired at least sixty-percent of roadways. Our Hydrogen Reactors are in bound to provide a safe, reliable power source. All we need is time, as I believe you do, for your own Fusion Reactors. Am I right?"
That was a show of intelligence gathering there.
''Whoa sir, you really know what you're doing. We're not even close to that far yet. We have far fewer troops than you and have only begun to secure the land we ''claim''. We've given the civilians aid packages and medical aids. Restored power, water and sewage and begun to rebuild damaged buildings. Roads and bridges are next. We have no plans to bring outside power sources, we will try to utilize what is already here.''
Behind them the Representative would note that the Republic Troopers were taking note of his guards, the chopper, and how to quickly kill off each and every one of them. One Trooper even gripped his Anti-Air launcher that he held, keenly gazing at the transport and its escorts. They knew exactly what to do if shit hit the fan, and how to evac. If anyone notice, small tilts of their helmet noted conversation. What they said was a mystery.
The truck used is the M4403-07 Military Transport. However the trucks have been customized and feature stronger armor and cage armor, run flat tires, a widened bed and 2 side and 1 rear weapons mounts. The beds are widened and sandbags are placed around the sides. Soldiers will sit on the ground and during combat, will use the sandbags for cover and return fire.
For the anti tank and anti air roles, a flat bedded variant is used.
'' Your forces are more concentrated to the western side of the island. Orbathain forces to the east. So far, we are not supporting any factions. Rebels and government forces will both be crushed. We aim to control as much as possible before electing a new government. So how about this. We both aim to gain as much area as possible. After this is done, we can join these areas together and unify them, establishing a government. It would take each of us much more time to do it alone, but together we can have most of the island under control in weeks.
Colonel Wilkins stood there for a moment, contemplating the decision. He then shook his head. "No, can't do that. We work by getting the individual factions into states, then elect a supreme government. Let the people have their places of religious and political importance, then unify under one banner."
He seemed to wave a finger in the air, "Maintaining ground control is easy, but maintaining control through forced governments is hard. Never, ever, unite a country that wants to be divided. The best way is the state-system."
Webster, Cripistan, 0300 hours, D-Day+1
The artillery continues to roar as shell after shell is pumped out of the massive artillery guns. A few minutes later, cruise missiles are launched from the super-dreadnought; over sixteen missiles fly through the air and head for the city of Webster. Then, the naval guns are calibrated, and a full broadside is fired at the city of Webster with the men outside sitting around. One shell strays off-course, and obliterates one of the artillery guns, killing twelve soldiers and destroying the 250mm gun. The other soldiers, thinking that the rebels destroyed the gun and killed their comrades, fire the guns as fast as they could in retaliation without destroying the guns.
''Ah, see our issue is with supporting armed factions. If they are willing to turn in their weapons and work with us diplomatically, we feel the state system would work. However, most of the time, the don't want help. Its their way goes and they turn a blind eye to discussion. Many are not willing to work alongside their rivals either. They want nothing to do with the other factions. If they only communicated they could have their way. The other issue is security. Many of these rebel groups are untrained regular people. Supporting them is dangerous. You wouldn't give your people back home guns without some sort of knowledge, so why do it here?
20-11-2007, 06:01
"Because, quite frankly, we have the people to do it with. General Watson and his Guardians are already being trained in professional combat. We will use them to gain control of Perth Territory and let them establish a state. Already a state has been born that wishes to work alongside us. They see our good deeds in Guardian Territory as a good sign of diplomatic relations. Were actually willing to work with them, and they have been trained!" He handed him the PDA again, this time with a screen showing future movements. "Whether you help us or not some Rebel Factions will be eliminated, and probably most if not all Nations involved will either be forced to leave or destroyed. We sought you out to work with you. So you can either help us, or be against us. Either way, we could united half the country your way and the other half ours." He shrugged. "Not to be mean, but if you deny us our way, then we'll deny you all rights here."
'' I understand Colonel. We do not have the manpower to train soldiers. However, we wish to be part of the restoration process. How about this. We will distribute leaflets letting rebels and civilians alike know the we are interested in helping them band together for their own causes. We will unite those of similar intentions. We will ask that they allow us into their territory. We will secure various states, those that refuse we will arrange meeting with and show them that we are here to help. If they seem that they do not want to rebuild and only to fight, we will eliminate them . We will protect each state from each other and outsiders. We will begin rebuilding these states. After this, you can move your troops in and begin training a proper military and police force. As well, we can elect representatives for each state.
Anagonia
20-11-2007, 06:12
"We will allow them to elect themselves, of course." He nodded, then shook hands. "Alright, we'll be in touch." He pointed to the PDA. "Keep that, you'll need it to keep updated on Tidean movements." He started towards the chopper, then turned around. "We'll be available for air strikes and Special Operations. Just contact us."
After that, the Republic Troopers boarded after the Colonel, and the Sea Dragon took off without delay. An agreement, and a compromise. An excellent day at the office.
Orbathian commanders were rather pleased. In essence, what this meant was that Orbath and Anagonia stood to take over the most of the nation. It would be divided and then hopefully unified. The first matter was the printing of the leaflets. They were quickly printed out and distributed by air, over the area Orbath wished to control (Blue Area on previous maps). The leaflets were printed in the national launguage. The leaflets were changed a bit to reflect the area they were dropped in but the messgae remained the same. They read;
Attention Citizens of Old Cripistan
We wish to aid you in uniting yourself. We are not here to oppress, we have come to help. We bring our finest engineers and medical teams to help you rebuild. We bring food and clean water. All we ask is this; Allow us into your territories, turn over your weapons and allow us to protect you. Soon you will be able to take up arms again but for now leave the hardships to us. We will strengthen you and give you a voice, set you apart from the others and protect you from those who seek to kill. Soon, our forces will arrive. With permission, our forces will move in. Those who do not agree with our methods, we invite you to discuss this with us. We can work together. Let us unite.
Orbathian commanders waited to see what the response would be.
OOC: Cripistan I need a breakdown of rebel forces operating in my area. I need some to cooperate and some to fight. You decide how they have united be it religion, ideals, location or race, ect.
Training Grounds
General Watson had reports of the forward APC ceasing up and heard the tank fire echoing from the forward front and knew what had happened. The laser sights were really training lasers used to train soldiers in combat, this however was a test. He immediately order his frontal 500 APC, that was stacked in front of his tanks, to push forward and spread out into a ravine in which they could temporarily find cover to unload their troops. The Tanks and APC's that were in line behind the tanks immediately found cover behind the hills. The Artillery was also ordered to find protection behind hills in close proximity to the APC.
Watson had organized his forces for the march into 500 APC infront, 300 Tank center, 500 APC behind the tanks which had been loaded down with extra supplies and the artillery in the back. The helicopter carrying immediate medicine and munitions were flying flank positions on the tanks which allowed the collumn an addition to their range of eye sight, unfortunately the hidden tanks and caught them off guard. Watson made a mental note to train them better at recognition maybe have a sniper/assassin from one of the elite divisions come in a give the pilots some training.
Watson then order the immediate unloading of material off of the APC in the rear and unloading of the troops and told 250 APC and 1750 Troops to prepare to set up rings around the Artillery/Mortar crews and then told 50 APC and 350 troops to set up a perimeter for the command center where the supplies had been unloaded. He then order the 500 APC without the troops in them in the Ravine to push up on top of the ridge and start a crisscross pattern and then return back to the ravine. This was to be in coordination with the tanks going over the hill and into the ridge. The tanks were to fire as many safe rounds as they could at the enemy while the APC provided a screen and then get into the ravine. At that moment the Artillery and their crews along with the APC protection groups would take positions on the hills and commence firing on enemy center as soon as possible.
The action had been practiced several times but on flatter ground and several slight mishaps happened but for the most part it was pulled off very professionally.
Several APC had gone down but that was okay they now provided even more cover. The tanks however had gotten over without even a scratch. He then seperated the tanks 100 going left with an escort of 85 APC which would quickly be loaded up with their complement of soldiers (595 Soldiers) the same amount of tanks and troops would be sent right to prepare for a flanking movement. The last 100 tanks would stay for now in the ravine along with 255 APC and 1,785 troops, also 315 troops would also stay in the ravine (Forces that had been unloaded from the APC that were lost in the criss cross pattern). For now they would remain unloaded to create a center line behind the ravine. The Artillery crews had soon set up their base and their APC formed a firm "western wagon train" defence around them. The artillery units quickly began raining down ordinance on the enemy. The troops meant to protect the artillery would use the APC as make shift trenches, even the crews of the APC had unloaded and been given weapons adding a total of 900 troops to the defense of the Artillery and Central command. There had been a total of 200 APC and 1400 Troops yet to interact and they had been set as reserves.
The transport helicopters mainly stayed stationed over and around the artillery bases and central command post but 4 had been unloaded and sent to scout the local area for terrain difficulty and troop movements.
Total Loses so far
40 APC along with 280 Troops in first assualt by enemy
45 APC lost in maneuvers to regroup for attack strategy.
Rebels responded to the recent message in different ways. Some layed down their weapons, knowing they could not fight off the Orbathian militants. Others, picked up arms and formed groups ranging from 40 to 4000. They now waited deep in the jungles for the Orbathian advance. They hoped this would catch them off guard, and force them to move back into their territory.
OOC: Cripistan, Of course I didnt expect too get all of them, but... ah fudge it.
IC: The bombardment was shorter then last time... thirty minutes instead of an hour and a half. The fact that there were plenty of guns more then made up for it. Then the rocket artillery pummeled everything within reach for ten minutes before the force moved out.
The Red Tide plan was too occupy its entire claimed territory and then dig in. Therefore, not a inch outside its claimed area in Cripistan was too be taken. From the perspective of the Rebels, it was as if there was a wall of armored vehicles rumbling towards them.
The spearhead of these assualts were a mix of MBT-66s and APC-45s, with Medusa Heavy Tank Destroyers here and there. Mi-24RT* Attack and TC-2A Anti-Tank Helicopters provided recon. Red Tide had devoted orbital assets too monitor the Anagonians and, as far as they could tell, the Anagonians were still outside the territory claimed by Red Tide.
OOC: *The Mi-24RT is a modified Mi-24V, its troop compartment has been removed and the weight replaced with more anti-tank missiles and rockets. In addition, the equipment has been brought up too NS standards, the mobility improved, and the weapons changed too Red Tidean missiles and rockets.
He immediately order his frontal 500 APC, that was stacked in front of his tanks, to push forward and spread out into a ravine in which they could temporarily find cover to unload their troops. The Tanks and APC's that were in line behind the tanks immediately found cover behind the hills. The Artillery was also ordered to find protection behind hills in close proximity to the APC.
Watson had organized his forces for the march into 500 APC infront, 300 Tank center, 500 APC behind the tanks which had been loaded down with extra supplies and the artillery in the back. The helicopter carrying immediate medicine and munitions were flying flank positions on the tanks which allowed the collumn an addition to their range of eye sight, unfortunately the hidden tanks and caught them off guard. Watson made a mental note to train them better at recognition maybe have a sniper/assassin from one of the elite divisions come in a give the pilots some training.
Watson then order the immediate unloading of material off of the APC in the rear and unloading of the troops and told 250 APC and 1750 Troops to prepare to set up rings around the Artillery/Mortar crews and then told 50 APC and 350 troops to set up a perimeter for the command center where the supplies had been unloaded. He then order the 500 APC without the troops in them in the Ravine to push up on top of the ridge and start a crisscross pattern and then return back to the ravine. This was to be in coordination with the tanks going over the hill and into the ridge. The tanks were to fire as many safe rounds as they could at the enemy while the APC provided a screen and then get into the ravine. At that moment the Artillery and their crews along with the APC protection groups would take positions on the hills and commence firing on enemy center as soon as possible.
The action had been practiced several times but on flatter ground and several slight mishaps happened but for the most part it was pulled off very professionally.
Several APC had gone down but that was okay they now provided even more cover. The tanks however had gotten over without even a scratch. He then seperated the tanks 100 going left with an escort of 85 APC which would quickly be loaded up with their complement of soldiers (595 Soldiers) the same amount of tanks and troops would be sent right to prepare for a flanking movement. The last 100 tanks would stay for now in the ravine along with 255 APC and 1,785 troops, also 315 troops would also stay in the ravine (Forces that had been unloaded from the APC that were lost in the criss cross pattern). For now they would remain unloaded to create a center line behind the ravine. The Artillery crews had soon set up their base and their APC formed a firm "western wagon train" defence around them. The artillery units quickly began raining down ordinance on the enemy. The troops meant to protect the artillery would use the APC as make shift trenches, even the crews of the APC had unloaded and been given weapons adding a total of 900 troops to the defense of the Artillery and Central command. There had been a total of 200 APC and 1400 Troops yet to interact and they had been set as reserves.
The transport helicopters mainly stayed stationed over and around the artillery bases and central command post but 4 had been unloaded and sent to scout the local area for terrain difficulty and troop movements.
Total Loses so far
40 APC along with 280 Troops in first assualt by enemy
45 APC lost in maneuvers to regroup for attack strategy.
General Furbanks saw General Watson's troops movements and ordered his tanks to fall back. He knew Watson had the advantage in numbers, but not this many. The Engineer's were instructed not to tell how many Guardian Assets were in the training grounds, only to inform them that they were ready. Henry Furbanks had the surprise, but now Watson had the advantage.
Moving the platoon in half, thirty-six marines going half one way with seven Abrams. This would be a split-maneuver used when Anagonian Troop's were outnumbered. The bombardment of artillery soon followed, hitting one Abrams as it began to move from position, and another landing in the vicinity of four marines "killing" them. The tank and the marines soon walked off the field, as Furbanks assumed Watson knew this was training by now.
In response as the APC's did their distraction move, two Abrams opened fire and twelve Marines with Anti-Tank rounds fired away. They quickly retreated near the forests and behind a series of mounds that led to the other half of the ravine. Furbank's platoon suffered no casualties of training so far, and thus used this as a surprise as they acted as if retreating into the woods. The Abrams stayed behind to enter a second, deeper ravine that led directly to a mound near the enemies encampment position. Hopefully from there they would be able to bombard the artillery.
OOC: Cripistan, Of course I didnt expect too get all of them, but... ah fudge it.
IC: The bombardment was shorter then last time... thirty minutes instead of an hour and a half. The fact that there were plenty of guns more then made up for it. Then the rocket artillery pummeled everything within reach for ten minutes before the force moved out.
The Red Tide plan was too occupy its entire claimed territory and then dig in. Therefore, not a inch outside its claimed area in Cripistan was too be taken. From the perspective of the Rebels, it was as if there was a wall of armored vehicles rumbling towards them.
The spearhead of these assualts were a mix of MBT-66s and APC-45s, with Medusa Heavy Tank Destroyers here and there. Mi-24RT* Attack and TC-2A Anti-Tank Helicopters provided recon. Red Tide had devoted orbital assets too monitor the Anagonians and, as far as they could tell, the Anagonians were still outside the territory claimed by Red Tide.
OOC: *The Mi-24RT is a modified Mi-24V, its troop compartment has been removed and the weight replaced with more anti-tank missiles and rockets. In addition, the equipment has been brought up too NS standards, the mobility improved, and the weapons changed too Red Tidean missiles and rockets.
Company Commander David Scotson, now promoted to Division Commander David, looked at his live-wire PDA and noticed the bombardment near the border. He ordered his company to build-up near the Tidean Border heading towards Anagonian Territory, so they would stretch out, literally near the Tidean Forces that would roar to a stop perhaps inches away. The Elite Marines in their Special Armor, twenty-four of seventy-two Marines in total, were used as a distraction as they stood their ground at the borders near either the M102 Main Battle Tanks or the M3A3 Bradley's. The rest of the marines, wearing the normal combat variant, stood ready to make haste and purge the Free Territories from Tidean Influence.
The two divisions, now merged under Division Commander David Scotson, was comprised of twenty-four M102 MBT's, ten M1A2 Abrams MBT, forty M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and about five-thousand Marines who were spread on either side of David Scotsons company of Marines. They were ordered not to engage unless Tidean Forces passed their border. Then, and only then, would things get worse.
As you may not know, even after we occupied Webster, Stoklomolvi forces continue to bombard the city with artillery, and missles. We have evacuated our troops, and 50,000 civillinas. Yet, 2,000 citizens have been killed becaus eof artillery. Missles have been fired, and we haven't entered the city since. We believe the outcome was catastrophic life wise, and that if you can somehow help stop the Stoklomvi bombings, it would be greatly appreciated.
Signed, General Khazel
The Independence received and understood the message, launching a large squadron of sixteen F-35 Joint Strike Fighter's with Air-to-Ground missiles and Bombs, four JSF's equipped for Air-to-Air missile combat. They made their way to the source of the bombardment, engines roaring around Mach-1 as they passed the sound barrier.
In fifteen minutes they would be over the enemy threat, whether friend or foe, and destroy it totally. If, of course, they didn't experience resistance.
General Kharzev had sent 40 *LAV-25's to the border of Red Tidean claim to make sure they weren't going outside of their claim. He did after he had won the loyalty of many tribes after his speech in Rasha. This was major to him, as he expanded the Central Cripistan territory without even fighting. With the borders expanding, he also got more men to join the military. This also meant that he would have to send state workers to repair roads and builings in the new boundries. Already 70% of roads were back to regulation, and 85% had power.
The C. Cripistan soldiers didn't need to worry. As they had evacuated the city long before. They had moved deep into C. Cripistan just to make sure. They also advised any people living within 25 miles of Webster to do the same, or they could be affected by the bombings.
Status Report
By now, four cities in Preft Territory had been liberated and was undergoing reconstruction. Already one of the Transports sent had unloaded a critical element to Anagonia's plan for dominance in the region. A Grade-5 Hydrogen Power Reactor was unloaded, piece by piece, and sent by fourteen military rig's to a site between the four cities. This site was understandably to be guarded by Anagonian troops, and maintained by Anagonian engineer's, until such time as the Guardians troops and engineer's were ready for the science involved.
News of the Hydrogen Reactors construction would reach all over Cripistan within the hour, as it was a blessing to the Guardians and a curse to her enemies. A heavy presence of defense would be around the construction, it only taking four days to assemble and an extra two to come online. It was a secondary reactor, a primary would be constructed beside it to power an entire state if need-be. For now, the only power needed was to four cities and their people.
The cities of New Cripistan, Dognar, Rashna, and Rigo were already having government elections, school sessions, and the first openings of a super-market in each one. Supplies were pouring in via standard Military Rigs. Transport ships from Anagonia carrying valuables were sending the luxury items that adults and children so loved to enjoy. Computers, Televisions, Cars, Toys, Food, Water, and supplies were already beings given out. Jobs were born, then the supplies were placed in the newly-built Super-Markets at almost insanely low prices that matched the income of the Cripistanians.
Anagonia's income was pouring in to help the four cities and their government. A fifth city, Northern Cripistania, was already liberated but undergoing the first stages of normality.
The news of such events would spread far and wide and therefore would surely send shock-waves that would entice others to join the new state that was forming. The Guardians children and civilians were well-fed and being well-educated now. Their lives and homes being reconstructed. Their roads being filled with Hydrogen-Powered Clean-Fuel vehicles graciously provided for free, as it was considered a needed item in any Anagonian life anyway. A transportation and Railroad Systems was already being finished between the cities to freight supplies, and Trucking companies were being founded to accommodate the gap left by the train routes.
Guardian Militia's were being outfitted with the latest gear and trained by Marines to become the best. They were trained in Anagonian vehicles and other nations vehicles that were captured in Cripistan in some secret skirmishes with other Rebels. They were trained in Command and Control of divisions, squads, companies, and even in the art of Naval and Air warfare. The Airbase, now having four run-ways, was launching testing sorties for new Guardian Air Guard Recruits.
Everything was going as planned. Everyone, so far, was left being happy. The Anagonian's had no reports of contest as of yet, and were actually expecting it. Hopefully it would never come.
The Red Tidean Armies reached the edge of their claim... and halted precisely on schedule. As more and more of the claim was secured, the TSRT moved its armed forces and spread it along the border. Almost immediatly, engineers began too run railroad tracks from Spencer and other newly captured ports too throughout the TSRT.
On the border, they began too construct massive fortifications, with concrete bunkers, pillboxes, lots of razor wire on the very edge, WHIRLWIND anti-aircraft sites, massive trench networks, underground recon outposts, and underground transportation systems. Near the coasts, they began too look for ideal positions too mount 25 inch and 16 inch coastal defense guns. On the coasts, they constructed a system of coastal fortifications.
The people who had volunteered for military service in Spencer quickly got what they wanted... they were hauled into newly set-up Hallucagenic Control Attachment Buildings, where they were then outfitted with Hallucagenic Control Collars... transforming them into the mindless automatons of the Red Tide Military known as 'Meatpuppets'. They were now completely loyal too the State.
Then they were organised into battalions, then regiments, then brigades, and finally, divisions. There were not enough volunteers too form two Army Corps(175,000 men each). So another 50,000 people were conscripted by force from the countryside and outfitted with the Hallucagenic Control Collars, only then were there enough men too form two Army Corps.
They were then equipped and sent too do their duties, in this case, keeping a obvious military presence in Urban Areas (at least until sufficient Intelligence Commissars could be brought from the mainland) and defending the coasts.
In the meantime, a team of Tech-Com Corporation Engineers were flown in too prospect that oil field that had been the entire point of Red Tides occupation. They quickly began too establish new wells, update and bring on-line old ones, and began too run a pipline back too the nearest port.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM TSRT GOVERNMENT
"Effective immediatly, all of the territory of Cripistan occupied by the Red Tide Army is hereby annexed into the Totalitarian State. All of the population are now Red Tide citizens and so-on and so-forth."
Codename Hellgate E-2 Hawkeye zoomed near the battle zone. It recieved contacts and the optics in orbit took an image of the type and make of vehicles and weapons used for the bombardment. This information was relayed to commanders on the ground, and the Hawkeye informed the Independence that an advisory for ground incursion would be better. After a short conversation of options, the Hawkeye advised the incoming fighters to land at the Anagonian Airbase in Guardian Territory and await further orders.
It was then that a Commander on the Ground sent a threatening message.
Stoklomolvi Commander.
You are hereby ordered to cease all engagement in webster or face an incursion. You will therefore be met by a friendly force and advised to stand down. If you fire on our forces, it will be considered an act of war.
With that, the Commander, a Dimitri Konlov, boarded his M3A3 and headed towards the location of the Stoklomolvi artillery and weapons systems. They made themselves known. Four Super Cobra's were accompanying them, along with two JSF Fighters in Hover mode mode which would occasionally circle the perimeter to ensure the safety of the group.
The force, now codenamed Hand of the Law, was comprised of four M2A3 and one M3A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles. Two T-80 MBT Tanks, Two Troop Carrier Trucks, and one Anti-Air LAV. They were now twenty miles and heading out from the Anagonian Airbase towards the Stoklomolvi Encampment.
Official Response from the Office of the Chief Governor
The United Republic of Anagonia does not recognize the claim and will therefore treat the land as Cripistanian. As the most active military enforcement presence in Cripistan, you are hereby ordered to begin a slow withdrawal of your presence to twenty miles from your border. You will then be asked to lay down your arms.
We will be sending all divisions, all fleets, and all ground personnel to the theatre with the threat of All-Out War. If you persist with the claim we will launch an all-out Nuclear Retaliation against Red Tide to ensure you get the message. We will be using Nuclear Weapons against your troops if you do not comply.
As of right now we did not see fit to include Nuclear Weapons, but we will reconsider. Do not tempt us.
I, Chief Governor Dunan Ruu, will present myself as Chief Negotiator as a sign of good faith and good will. I do hereby promise to present myself without the threat of war, so long as you do the same. I suggest a small island in the middle of Cripistan, Anagonia, and Red Tide as the target location. It is, as far as we know, empty expect for an airstrip.
As I will be bringing a guard, I welcome yours too. My people won't allow me to go alone, I do apologize. Let us meet within two hours to negotiate a compromise of some sort.
Borask was a ordinary Field Marshal, a bit paranoid yet professional officer. He was also loyal too the State... mostly because of the Political Officer who hardly ever left his side. He was dressed in a Red Tidean Field Marshal Uniform styled after the Soviets, as per ordinary.
A CH-46E Sea Knight (Chinook variant) was the only thing available for the transport at the time. The Chief Governor's personal plane wasn't ready, nor jet. So he had to do with the Republic Guard forces open to him. A squad of five Republic Troopers, dressed in the same red Elite Marine Armor with Hammer and Sickle design, exited and stayed extremely close to the Chief Governor as he exited the chinook.
Dunan Ruu was dressed in his Republic Commander-in-Chief uniform which displayed the Anagonian Flag with each Provisional Symbol in a circle around the Star. Hammer and Sickle, Imperial Flame and Sword, Republic Shield with red-white-blue colors, Kingdom Shield and Sword with Dragon Serpent, and a few others that one couldn't notice on first glance. His shoulders had the insignia of a Sword with Seven Stars in a Golden Emblem on each one.
"Sorry to be old-fashioned, but this was the only one open to me." He came before the Marshall, noting his attire and the obvious Cripistan zombies. He sighed at that, as it was more of a political statement than anything. "These are my advisor's," he motioned to the stern Troopers behind him in armor, "they will help me make my decisions. I take it that man next to you is yours." He clasped his hands. "Well then, shall we get down to business?"
With that, ninety-nine rockets were launched simultaneously from the many anti-aircraft artillery rocket vehicles stationed around the artillery. Meanwhile, the artillery continued to fire, while heeding no warning from Anagonia. Forty MiG-36 Air Superiority modified fighters scrambled from a crude airfield dug around Soyuzkravich. Civilians hid inside their houses, and the apartment construction was halted due to war.
The Orbathian Commander had spent several hours reviewing messages. Most of the messages were good, rebels agreeing to the terms. However, a few were quite threatening and from some areas, no message was received. Thankfully, most of the rebels around Orbath's current sphere of influence agreed. Within already held cities, weapon drop off points were constructed. Those owning weapons were expected to turn them over.
Port
Originally, people had been mad that the port had been closed. Their opinions changed when the massive Bob Hope classes and several other cargo ships took turns docking and unloading hundreds of thousands of soldiers and vehicles as well as construction equipment.
The Orbathain Naval Fleet had appeared overnight, its presence off the coast of Orbathian held territory.
FOB
The division that had just been flown in a few day prior began taking to the roads. The units had been split up, each tasked with securing areas that had already submitted. After the area was swept through, roads would be closed off and the area sealed. This would be happening in three places, allowing the Orbathains to secure quite a bit of territory.
With the port secured by other forces, the Air Calvary had returned to base. They now had a new mission. RAH-66 Commanches would begin scouting out areas not yet submitting. If the area was found to contain hostiles, it would likely be the job of the Air Calvary to secure the area.
The RAH-66s took off, 6 in all, heading in different directions to do fly overs.
There was another issue. Orbath had noticed what Stoklomolvi had done and was appalled. They had chosen not to say anything due to the fact that they had recently become allies and they were really the only friends Orbath had. However, with Anagonia mere minutes away from bombing them and now moving forces in. Orbath decided to send a message.
To:Stocklomolvi
It has come to our attention that you are attacking an area with no regard for civilians. This is against Orbathain principles and should be stopped. We are not here to conquer the people, we are here to save them. Some will fight back, but we must pay attention to those who don't. I don't want to see a large scale war in Cripistan, they have been through enough. I ask that you please stand down and keep in check in the future.
"Holy shit!"
The first JSF Fighter pilot took note and started to roar to Mach-1 away from the missiles. The Second took the charge as decoy and took flight towards the missiles as the four AH-1 Super Cobra's made way to avoid a possible slaughter. The military convoy needed air cover, and Dimitri Konlov wasn't about to loose it.
Codenamed Hellgate E-2 Hawkeye was busy with activity as it tracked the missiles. It gave jamming signals to the missiles to allow a short window of confusion for the F-35 to make a target. Hopefully, if it worked, the JSF would fly by at MACH-1 and zoom over the Artillery just in time for a second Sonic Boom, followed by the missiles. It would then be up to the pilot to escape in time and avoid a gruesome death. If it worked.
Commander Dimitri Konlov ordered the advance at a quicker pace. Now within ten miles of the Stoklomolvi position. The tanks readied for a hard fight, and the troop trucks and troop support Bradley's readied for a harsh arrival and pro-fight entry. That would consist of the Bradley's moving in before the T-80 and M1A2 Abrams MBT's, opening fire while unloading troops, the MBT's coming next to cover the Troop Trucks as they unloaded, and hopefully the AH-1 Gunships next to open fire on ground targets.
Speaking of air targets. The Lone Anti-Air LAV had target of the incoming MiG fighters before they knew he did. The E-2 gave it a great warning, and a great firing advance before the Anti-Air missiles would loose fuel. The turret holding six Anti-Air missiles swiveled towards the incoming threat.
Picking up the Air Superiority advance by the Stoklomolvi, the Independence launched Sixteen FA/18 Super Hornets for Air Combat, The remaining Twelve F-35 JSF for Hornet Cover in Air Combat, and two EA-6B Prowler's for Electronic Warfare and Jamming Purposes. The Anagonian Airbase launched its full contingent of ten F-22 Raptor's and six F-15 Eagle's for Air Superiority to cover the now-engage battle on the ground.
All incoming aircraft would arrive in ten to twenty minutes at maximum Mach Speed. Further Ground Troops were going to be supplied if needed.
All that was on the lone F-35 pilots mind was catching the Anti-Air missiles eye and chasing them towards the MiG's...
The missiles, having detected an increase in flight speed on the targets' parts, began to fall apart. The outer casings of the rockets began to detach, and self-propelled miniature rockets began flying everywhere. Soon, the sky was filled with massive black clouds: flak. The rocket artillery packed up and drove into the cover of the jungle, and the artillery was driven off, save for the expendable 600mm mortar cannon. C4 charges were planted, and the cannon was detonated, throwing pieces of charred, hardened steel at least seventy feet into the air.
The rest of the Imperial Guard infantry began to retreat, since a massive ground force was detected moving in from the west. The rocket artillery slowed down when they had reached a small cliff, and directed the rocket batteries at the chokepoint. The used rocket container was ejected and partly blocked the cliff, which was shrouded with fog, mist, and jungle. Three coilguns were set up, aimed through whatever little openings there were in the jungle canopy.
Meanwhile, above the jungle, MiG-35 interceptors were being downed everywhere; both by ramming and by enemy fire. Chainguns ripped apart strengthened steel; miniguns the light armour of the MiGs before the MiGs retaliated with GSh-30-1 cannons. R-73 short-range missiles and R-27 medium range missiles were launched in salvos at the fast approaching aircraft, and numerous aircraft rammed into each other due to the high speed and burned pieces of jungle.
