The time had come. All Beatusian radio communication on the island ceased. Bases went dark, and troops moved into the jungles. Within a matter of moments all activity at all Beatusian bases vanished. On moment compounds were full of troops and then they were empty. The bulk of the Beatusian forces melted away into the jungle. Within a half an hour, all Beatusian airbases had launched all they're aircraft. Most Beatusian military assets simply vanished over the course of a half hour.

Whispering to himself over the chart laid out before him, Admiral Nestor drew up some quick figures. Given the distance they would have to cover, the Beatian aircraft would need some time to reach Royal territory. That would give him enough time to get most of his aircraft launched.
He looked up at his comrades and said, "Get every plan into the air, now, and i mean now"
The eight carriers of 2nd Fleet sprang to life, and began launching dozens of fighters and interceptors which quickly began to bulk into hundreds, as they took to attack altitude.
Up high in the clouds they would wait for the Beatians to make the mistake of making the first move.
580 naval fighters based off 8 carriers took to the skies to defend the fleet, and royal territory.
To support their aircraft with missiles and automatic weapons, the 2nd fleet began to shift itself closer to royal territory where the dogfight was expected to take place.
Meanwhile, on the ground. Royal Forces had to be consolidated, and pulled back off the line to prepare a more tactical defense. What few combat vehicles they had were moved to discrete locations. Dispersal would be the one factor the small force on the ground in royal territory had to their advantage.
No more than 4,500 men would stage a tactical defense of Royal Territory.
Clearing the skies, between hundreds of aircraft, and a huge fleet, would not be nearly as problematic as defending ground positions from land invasion...
[ooc: Stoklomolvi- consider your men unseen due to the withdraw. The Beatus- i'm interpereting your writing as saying your forces are mobilizing, right? If not i'll have to edit the hell out of this post =P ]

[ooc:my forces are mobilizing alright!]
After a few hours trek across the island, Beatusian forces reached the Royal Code territory. Edwardo Listless's squad of 12 men was on the front lines of the assault force, which numbered around 400,000 ground forces. Most ground forces were armed with M14's though there were approximately 80,000 machine gunners armed with M2's. He lead his men through the jungle toward the Royal Code territory. As they approached the border they slowed they advance, keeping an eye out for any movement ahead of them. They continued they're slow advance into the Royal Code territory. They were being very cautious. Meanwhile, in less dense parts of the the spearhead of the armored divisions(approximatly 2000 M60A3's) was just reaching the Royal Code boarder. The spearhead was a line approximately 40 tanks across.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/images/m60-112.jpg
The M60A3's made a lot of noise, but surprise was not the objective, fear was the objective. They continued to rumble into the Royal Code territory. The Royal Code still had not sighted the Beatusian aircraft since they left they're airbases.

Even if you did travel on my highways, there would have been quite a traffic jam, seeing as to how my highways tend to have only five lanes per direction, as opposed to ten in the mainland. Maybe you could edit your post to say that the first forces arrived, while the others were clumping together with the Stoklomolvi Imperial Guard in a nearby clearing produced by my bulldozers? (OOC: I did say the tanks were in the less dense parts of the jungle, also I changed it to the leading edge of the tank assault, a line about 20 tanks across. They were some what able to traverse the jungles of Southeast Asia. Also the ground forces were on foot through the jungle, the first ones to arrive were the ones out on foot patrol at the time of the decision to attack.)

Like Louis said, 45 minutes later, the 30 "Falcons" were on the road, and ready to rendevouz with the Aurum Domans. They had their MAC-10's hidden underneath their clothing, well concealed. To an ordinary passerby, they looked like ordinary men, awaiting a ride..

Coast of Cripistan's Colony
A force of three thousand, two hundred and fifty advanced troops began to land to clear out the landing zone of enemy combatants. Their was the usual: snipers, loyalists, etcetera, which were easily rooted out. However, there were the tougher bunch: those which machine guns and IEDs. Satellite recon had not shown any major weapon threat, such as a small artillery piece of any major machine gun installation, but everybody knew that there would be atleast one thirty caliber on the island.
Upon scouting up and down the cratered coast, a soldier noticed something. One of the "craters" in the area did not have the "splattered rock" around it. On closer "scoping" he observed a cylindrical object sticking out of a "rock and leaf" roof. He was only able to shout "DOWN!!!!" before he did that; he did it with ten thirty caliber rounds in him. His squadmates reacted, firing, throwing grenades, and moving up, as with standard fashion. All of a sudden, as they did this, they were caught in a cross-fire of ten machine gun emplacements. They ran and took cover where ever they could, and called for more coastal artillery. Every soldier, in the action or not, took cover.

"Mmmm.....This is not good," Hendrick Jorgenson sighed as he read the recent military and economic reports.
"The Beatus and the Royal Code are about to engage with each other in a big confrintation, furthermore, The Flaming Souls are blockading the island, which is devestating our forign trade." Explained the messenger.
"At this rate of engagement and battles with the two factions and the current economic standards, their tax rates for the colonies would rise about 1.5 precent every so often to pay for the battles with the Royal Code, the management of the colonies, and a part of the protection costs." One of the counsel members predicted.
"We do have enough troops to protect the colony from invasion, however, we followed the weapon standards layed out by The Beatus. However, older model weapons do not follow modern standards, and that is a loophole in the restrictions" Explained the Admiral of the Colony.
"Exactly how far back do we have to go to avoid any conflict with the restrictions?" Asked Hendrick, rasing on of his eyebrows.
"Late 18th to Mid 19th weapons." The Admiral replied. "But we do have the standardize navy to protect the colony, as well as some AA defenses."
"So we are using muskets vs. machine guns? I don't know about this....." Hendrick thought as he looked out of his window and stared down at his glorious city.
The market places around the square were bustling with goods, and commoners were chating and going about their daily business. The harbour from the view saw many ships leaving and entering port, with the forts high above and protecting the harbour. This was a colony of Zoingo to not loose.....

Pershing made the call. With so much trouble headed his way, he ordered all his troops to pull back to the Verdun area. As they pulled back, the skillful civilian 'contractors' planted hundreds of improvised explosive devices, and thousands of various other booby traps. The road to Verdun would not be one easily taken.
2nd Fleet was inbound to the Verdun Harbor area, while her many hundreds of aircraft soared high overhead, ready to pounce the moment the Beatus made the first shot.

Edwardo Listless lead his men deeper into the Royal Code territory. After they had gone a good distance into the jungle, Edwardo suddenly called his platoon to a full stop. He had spotted something. "Booby traps," he said quietly to the rest of his men. Other platoons had not been so lucky to have spotted them. Thus Edwardo's warning was punctuated by several explosions in the distance to they're left and right. Very quickly other platoons learned that they would have to proceed carefully the hard way. Edwardo would probably not have noticed the cleverly hidden booby traps if he had not used similar ones during the revolution. His platoon, began to slowly, and carefully proceeded trough the booby trapped area, they also began probing for mines. Meanwhile the tanks had to wait for M60 Panther's to clear the mines so the tanks could proceed safely. Overall, 841 soldiers died without even knowing what hit them.

He put his hand on a part of the rock that looked no different from any other part anf pushed upwards revealing a keypad and gel scanner. He pressed his thumb on the scanner as he typed a 12 number code into the pad. Then a section of the cliff face slid up like a garage door to reveal a tunnel. Springfield-Vitolia was becoming more and more accustomed to the ongoing hostilities across the island. And while they were still getting used to the ViZionarian troop presence, they knew that may be the biggest factor in the safety of their land. As such, people were able to sleep easier at night.
The two villages were becoming much more like small towns, and most of the huts had since been replaced in the past couple weeks with actual buildings. While there was yet to be any pavement, dirt roads were formed. Four-wheeler buggies and ATV's were becoming quite popular, however travel by foot was still the main mode of transportation.
In the past week, a quickly made airfield was being heavily upgraded due to the stability of Springfield-Vitolia, and a small terminal with three gates were also under construction.
The Vitolian carrier remained stationed off the coast of Springfield-Vitolia, and training had been completed. However, the Vitolians were now training newer Vitolians who had not originally been trained, and soon there would be a rotation of shifts once every two weeks.
Springfield-Vitolia, all-in-all, remained quite innocent in its setup. No automobiles, and a nature-based colony that, they hoped, would begin drawing many of the wealthy tourists from across the globe once the situation across Springfield is finished.

Ladies and gentlemen. I'm pleased to announce the construction of a new resort and 5 star hotels at the site of our former intended space port (O on the map). This luxurious facility will provide guests with ample opportunity to relax and explore the small adjoining islands. These themselves will remain havens of wildlife.
We will name the new resort "Elysée sur mer". Our spaceport "Jules Verne Space Center" will now be relocated to point P on the map. Pontus Motor Corporation will construct the center, along with associated heavy plant manufacturing facilities.

"Excellent" thought Ernest Fellow. "The federal government has agreed to my proposal for the relocation. The spaceport will now be out of the hands of Brodie and his cronies in the Clichy local government. The resort's control too will be delegated into the hands of the Governor's office."
"Gone are the plans of Clichy to monopolise the region and stymie development. They can take care of the government of the city and decide who empties the bins. I'll focus on developing this colony onto a par with the homeland."

The situation back in the ASRC was taking dramatic changes. Recent events in parliament in light of the Wilderness campaign in Exurbea (references 'territories' thread) and the colonial conflict in Springfield, had changed the public state of mind. The country was steadily becoming a nation of democratic socialists. The people were becoming fiercely patriotic, and demanding further actions by the Royal Government. It wouldn't be long until the nation became a right-wing paradise.
As General Pershing had been informed, the Royal Army was up to 40% readiness, after 2 weeks of prior notice, a phenominal achievement. Several Army Corps' had been organized and prepped for deployment, with dozens more on the way. Until the Royal Military committed to full mobilization, the city of Verdun would be quite on it's own, minus the support from 2nd Fleet, which, by no means was to be underestimated.
With the recent establishment of the Colonial Security Coalition, the armed forces were becoming increasingly motivated to hit the jungles of springfield island. To counter international pressure, the Royal Navy, the pride of the ASRC, was being called in from afar, back to the ASRC homeland for last minute updates and servicing. When the time came for the ASRC to hit springfield, nothing was going to stand in their way of securing the safety of CSC territories. The only thing the Royal Command Staff feared was the international interpretation. A huge navy coming over the horizon bearing enormous, well equipped armies, would undoubtedly be seen as a hostile invading force, but only after the troops landed, and accomplished their mission of securing CSC territory, and nothing more, would the world see the ASRC was indeed, not out to absorb the island.
With recent tactics advancements from the Wilderness campaign, Royal ground forces would not be outdone by the loose alliance of nations standing before them. Royal territory was going to be secured, one way or the other. With the finest ships the free world could offer, and a well equipped battle-hardened veteran army, operating alongside the other nations of the CSC, the ASRC would not stand to be pushed around by tyrants. The end of these blasphemies was near. The crashing lighting of war had sparked a fire no amount of international pressure was going to extinguish. The pride of the royal armed forces was at stake, as well as the defense of the principles of liberty and justice.
By name of the royal president, highness, dictator, king of the Springfield Colony by name of Hendrick Jorgenson, this thread is officially going to be

One of Pershing's command officers stormed into his office and slapped down a large chart of the combat area, unrolling it on his desk. Pershing, taken aback, said, "I take it this is important then?"
"The Beatus have not entered our airspace, nor tried to attack our fleet."
"Faced against such odds, probably the better move on their part." Pershing replied.
"We've finally got estimates in about the size of the force entering our frontier. Between satellite scans and field surveillance, we've praised their numbers at just under half a million, which means their total combat manpower commitment is expected to be approximately 100,000, give or take. ( assuming the 5:1 total pop: fighting pop equasion ). Our men are doing everything they can to slow them down without engaging, and the jungle's got them moving slow."
"How much time do we have?"
"At their current rate, 4 or 5 days at best."
"The fleet is really going to save our skins on this one. They've got more than enough flyboys to wrestle control of the air, so we can get sorties in here. And on top of that, Verdun's right here on the coastline, well within range of the naval guns and missiles. If they come this far, we can hold them here. But there is nothing we can do about the territory they've taken. Until 1st Army Corps, 2nd Army Corps, and whatever else parliament decides to commit, shows up, we wont have the capabilities to repulse them."
"How long until we get reinforced" the officer asked.
Pershing looked up at him and said, "Soon enough." he thought for a moment, "Have the bulk of our men made it back to Verdun?"
"They have, we have teams preparing as many IED's as we can, whatever measures we can go to, to make the approach to Verdun a nightmare, especially considering as soon as they come within 20 miles, the fleet will open up on them." the officer said.
"It wont be pretty for either side, that much is certain. While our nation back home may dwarf beatus, here and now, in the real world, we will have to make due with what we have." Pershing concluded.
The sun set that day behind the flown banners of the 2nd fleet.

[OOC: just a quick question? How will the fleet and aircraft be able to see my men in the dense jungle? It's very difficult to detect ground troops in thick jungle vegetation.]
Edwardo Listless, and his squad progress faster than any of the others. They were far ahead of the rest of the troops. They're experience during the revolution gave they excellent abilities to detect and avoid booby traps. While other squads were taking huge losses, his had taken none so far. They also kept they're eyes, and ears open for enemy soldiers, because as they had learned during the revolution, one who doesn't pay attention ends up in a body bag. Casualties had risen from 841 soldiers to 5,426 soldiers and 5 M60A3's. The M60 Panthers were doing an excellent job clearing most of the mines for the tanks to get though.

The soldiers filed into the briefing room and sat down. Two men stood at the front in front of a large projector that was connected to a computer. The younger looking man began to talk.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Commander Alex Wolf and I'm the Field Leader of this operation."
The older man began to speak,"I am Director Johnathon Wolf," at the mention of this name several Calizorinistanis in the audience stirred, John Wolf was a special forces legend among UFAN nations. He had been involved in man yoperation in the last last 25 years including the Honako Hostage Crisis and the Circum-Zansk War. He was also great friends with Jake Goldsea, another famous man known throughout the world for his tactical genius and fighting ability.
"I know many of you do not yet know the exact parameters of our mission so I will inform you. Our job is to disturb the Urcean colony through assasinations, bombings, you name it. The Aurum Doman government is simply tired of the Urcean imperialistic expansionist attitude. You all have seen it before, in the Order of America and many other places throughout the world. Currently, they are training their sites on Cripistan. An ally of Urcea's, Maldorians, attempted to seize Aurum Doman possesions in the Sawney Islands and only backed down after immense international pressure. Both of these nations belong to the CA. If we are victorious in our attempt to drive the wretched Urceans from this island than it will take us one step closer to ending their ways all across the world. You will receive your assignments and missions in 6 hours time. Any questions?"
Lt.Macked shook his head, and the 30 others shook their heads, if they got back alive from all of this, they would be legends. He wondered if this action, could help him in his future doings..
He shook the thoughts off and paid attention to the briefing, ready to go at any moments notice..

President Kilo, after more talks with President John Wilson of Vitolia, has agreed to send additional forces to Springfield-Vitolia for a total of 5,000 ViZionarian troops due to the severe instability of the island. ViZionarian ships will be leaving port in the next three days to make their way to Springfield. In addition to this, one of ViZion's MTR-N01 Leviathan class Trimarine Super Dreadnaughts (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9577847&postcount=319), five Overlord Trimaran Super Dreadnaughts (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10405348&postcount=2059), and three of ViZion's Whirlwind Class Supercarriers (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12078664&postcount=78) will be deployed to protect ViZion's troops, ships, and interest in Vitolia's colony.
In the mean time, the two ViZionarian transport ships send previously still remain in international waters outside Springfield Island. They are prepared to take in any civilians as refugees for their protection. Please notify us if you request your civilians to be protected.
We also wish to put out a warning that should either of the ViZionarian ships be targetted and attacked, ViZion WILL respond with force.
Thank you,
President Kilo
The naval fleet was nearing Vitolian waters, the naval fleets were coming into sight. With that, a message was quickly sent out;
Naval forces, friendly or hostile. The ViZionarian fleet is arriving and will be entering Vitolian waters to unload some of our troops, as well as protect our interest in Vitolia's colony.
We will warn only once; do not fire upon us. We are here only for defensive purposes should our Vitolian allies come under any ruthless and illegal invasion.
Thank you.

Concurrent with our homeland space program, our colony has managed to complete our first satellite launch system. The rocket launched five minutes ago from Jules Verne Space Centre and is heading for geostationary orbit at 43000 km/h.
To watch the launch progress over the Southern Sea, an Elgregian aircraft carrier group arrived last night outside the naval cordon. The group was headed by the carrier Jacques Chirac.

The time had finally come. The units alerted for deployment overseas were finally assembled and the high seas fleet had returned to the homeland for deployment duties.
At 2100 hours sharp, broadcasted live via satellite, the aging Chancellor, Promus Alexander, appeared on television, standing before the parliament.
The Chancellor stood tall and firm behind the podium, with a stern face to show the hundred cameras tracking his every move.
"Good evening my Royal citizens. I come before you, and the parliament tonight to make my final address to the state before our military steps off on its great journey." he looked down to file through some notes. Looking back up, he continued, "As most of you know, our colony many thousands of miles away on a little known island called Springfield, has come under attack. Some time ago, hostilities broke out between the nation of The beatus, and our own, over a restrictions dispute, which led to the murder of several royal airmen, the 'massacre at midnight' as i'm sure you all know it as." The parliament hummed with low conversations.
"But those days are long since past. General Pershing sent me an estimate of what he should need to secure our colony, and I have answered him. Today, i authorized the deployment of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Army Corps', to overwhelm and destroy the invaders of our territory."
He leaned forward slightly to bring inflection his next statement, "However, the Royal Military shall not cross our own boarders to engage in counter-aggression warfare. I have placed critical restrictions on what our armed forces are alowed to do while deployed overseas. Their orders are to secure Royal territory, by any means necessary excluding NBC tactics."
The scratching of hundreds of pencils and pens could be heard quite clearly from the discussion floor.
The Chancellor drew a breath, "The Royal Navy has been called in to support this action. They will serve as additional combat support and transport, in combination with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Air Forces. As part of a joint operation with the other Colonial Security Coalition nations, this campaign's purpose will be to secure all CSC territories, as part of our own. I will now be taking questions."
Many hands were raised, one was selected, "You there, red tie, front row... yes you."
"Sir Chancellor, how many men are being sent over as part of this campaign?"
The Chancellor looked at his notes, "Each of our Army Corps' puts 230,000 men on the ground, which leaves about 60,000 fighting men, plus those in vehicles and other weapons. We'll have well over a million men on springfield, if necessary, in 3 months."
Alexander selected another question, "Sir, how many men are being sent over in this first wave?"
"We will be deploying one Army Corps at a time, five are lined up ready to deploy. Not including reserves of course. My advisors assure me, this conflict can be settled long before that would ever be necessary."
"How long before the first troops arrive, sir Chancellor?"
"We will have a hundred thousand men on the ground around Verdun by tomorrow morning, as the participating airborne units lift off."
"And how long before the men at sea arrive?"
Again, Alexander referenced his notes, "It's a 2 week voyage." He looked up at the man, who sat back down.
"One more." Alexander said. He selected another hand.
An older man himself, clearly one of prior military service, stood, and said, "I have seen the broadcasts The Beatus put out over live channels. Their military uses out dated equipment, with poor support logistics. I am just baffled as to why we are deploying ten times the force needed to put this crisis to an end!"
The Chancellor had been ready for this one, "Because, good sir, it shall save lives, for both parties involved. This campaign will not be put at risk unnecessarily when we have more than enough manpower for the job."
"And what is the name of this 'campaign' you refer to?"
The Chancellor looked him right in the eye, and said, "Pandora."

"Im the govenor of Norlvania, the Zoingo colony on Springfield Island, Im here to see the govenor."
The two villages in Springfield-Vitolia were rapidly growing into tropical paradise vacation spots. Villas were being build like crazy as beach resorts in Portcity, the coastal town. And while the vast majority of the residence were infact ViZionarian soldiers, it was expected to change over the next couple of years as Vitolians and foreigners alike move it, while the travel industry booms.
In the mean time, the tropical rainforest town of Jungle, Springfield-Vitolia was also being build up like crazy. But unlike having ocean-side villa resorts, these resorts were being build up into the trees - something quite different. Infact, over 50% of the town was in the trees with walkways 50-80 feet into the air connecting tree building to tree building.
In the mean time, the patch of trees cleared out by bombings for an emergency military airfield with a makeshift landing and takeoff strip has been transformed into a small civilian and military airport complete with three civilian gates and multiple military hangers. With that, both Vitolian and ViZionarian aircraft alike were preparing to be sent to this small airport.
Two ports were also finished. The civilian port by Portcity had been completed, albeit only for small watercraft, not large ships. To the west, near the Vitolian-Flaming Souls border, a larger naval port was nearly completion so that Vitolian and allied naval forces could dock. Since 90% of this port has been completed, the Vitolian aircraft carrier as well as a couple of the ViZionarian ships were already docked in the completed area.

He wondered around the office a bit, and then came back to his spot.
"One of the main reasons I came here was to discuss the current state of affairs with you, including the Royal Code and The Beatus confrontation." he explained.

Well, the Royal Code apparently blatantly disregarded the rules set out for them by the Beatus, and now, both are angry at each other; The Royal Code at the Beatus for destroying his planes, and the Beatus angry at the Royal Code for disobeying the rules. We need to mediate this conflict, or at least stop it."

"I think that we should side with The Beatus on this matter though." Hendrick said as he took a sip of water.
"We probably should because the Beatus is the sole owner of this island, and that The Royal Code disobeyed the regulations that were specifically set out when their contract was stated."

The rain began to pour, and droplets of water hit the window (http://www.chromasia.com/images/houses_in_the_rain_b.jpg) at an amazing rate.
"I agree. The Beatus is an ally and a friend, while the Royal Code disobeyed the rules that the Beatus set out for him. So, we should support the Beatus and allow him to reclaim this island, yes?"
He sipped some of the cold water and shuddered. Outside, lightning struck a tree, lighting it on fire. The rain soon put out the fire and turned the tree into a pile of smouldering ash.

"Wow, that is quite uncommon sight!" Hendrick laughed as he saw what had happened to the tree.
"Anyway, I propose economic sanctions for right now, and step it up a bit later, and yes, we should get ready to support the Beatus in the conflict at a later date."
"Economic sanctions. Quite. But what will economic sanctions do to the Royal Code? We do not trade with them anyway, and we have not interacted with each other before. However, aiding the Beatus is a most excellent idea. The Royal Code will fall."
He was punctuated by a lightning strike outside, which, unfortunately, struck a man. The man ran around in circles before several SMPF officers tackled him and threw him into a cistern, where they promptly removed him and took him to a hospital for treatments about his burns. Another tree was turned into a smouldering pile of dust after lightning struck one branch.
"Um.....well....that was unexpected, but I digress, so we should openly declare and alliance with the Beatus?" Hendrick asked.

"Da, comrade. An inter-colonial alliance as well as trade relations should be offered to the Beatus; should he decline, then it would be his fault for not accepting aid. Also, that rain is getting rather annoying."
Nikolay points behind him, where a man is running around in a white phosphorous flame screaming. Several firemen appear with massive hoses and spray the man, and they dump him in a cistern full of water. The man gets shocked and combusts into a blue fire, and the firemen promptly throw him into a puddle. The rain scorches him somehow and the man turns into a pile of wet ashes, which the firemen spray away with their hoses. Three family members walk over to the pile of ashes and trample on it before running away.

After much talk between the young Lanny Bonds, Governer of the Springfield-Vitolia colony, President John Wilson of Vitolia, and Ithsam's Emperor Saggo Telior, we have agreed to donate a small plot of land at our northeastern most corner, a 1 mile long by 3 mile wide plot that would be under the control of Ithsam.
Ithsam will be allowed to travel through our land to get to and from the sea, as well as have access to our new military base and airport.

Sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooooooooooooo...bbbboooooooooooooooo The ground shook as hundreds of shots were being fired into the trees in part of the unclaimed land on Springfield Island coming from the ViZionarian super dreadnaught VSD-Death Axe. The massive ship was bombarding the land to clear the way for the ViZionarian forces.
In the mean time, sixteen CH-47D Chinook transport helicopters began to transport a total of 800 ViZionarian Marines to the edges of where they would soon claim as allied land, which would quickly be handed over to Vitolia and Ithsam. These 800 Mariners were given the task of guarding the entrance of any forces outside of Vitolian and Ithsamnian troops until the land could be taken completely.
Preparing to move through the clearing made by the Death Axe were 10 M-413 Diablo and 25 M1A2 tanks, as well as vehicles such as the 100 Strykers, 150 LAV-150's, 250 Puma's, 200 M109A6's and other various of the M109 series, 300 M270's and other armoured fighting and artillary vehicles. In addition to this are 2,500 ViZionarian troops whom will be supported by air with such aircrafts as the 100 AH-64D attack helicopters and 50 aging Mi-24 helicopters. 30 F-22's will assist in air support as well, with the likes of the Ninja G2, FB-401, and M/A-150 'Hypersonic' aircrafts awaiting a fight offshort should the need arise.
This expidition and claim is expected to be a simple five-day project, and should all go well, in 10 days 3,000 of ViZion's 5,000 troops will be heading home, while 4,500 of the 5,000 returning home to ViZion within 30 days.

The last shell slammed into the island at 21:02 hours, six hours after the first exploded in the dense rain forest of Springfield Island. Now, at exactly 23:30, the land forces began to make their way forward, the artillary and fighting vehicles staying in the clearing.
The 2,500 troops, however, split up through the thick trees as well as the clearing. The helicopters, for immediate protection of the troops, stayed close, while the F-22's used the airbase and flew in three groups to patrol the skies, should additional air support be needed.
Supplies are being airlifted and dropped by 45 V-22 transport helicopters for the 2,500 troops to begin setting up checkpoints and outposts as they move along for guarding purposes until the land is taken control of.

All of the outposts have been completed and manned. In the mean time, 500 troops are clearing an area one full mile deep into unclaimed land for better visibility of any hostile forces making their way to the border. A road is being made that will wrap along the four borders of Vitolia - those being Soulia, Cookesland, Ithsam, and the unclaimed land - as well as the three borders of Ithsam - Vitolia, Cookesland, and the unclaimed land.
We wish to also offer our assistance of extending this road along the borders of both Cookesland and Flaming Souls - an ally of Vitolia is a friend of ours, and as such, since we're in the midst of this undertaking already, we feel we should extend this offer to you to assist in moving forces to the needed areas quicker. You, then, can build linking roads where you wish.
In the mean time, supplies are arriving to begin the construction of the fort for Vitolia and her allies. We will be funding, supplying, and building the entire thing for Vitolia and her allies so that they may focus more on funding their own defenses, economies, and so forth.

The room was dimly lit from recessed lighting in the ceiling, which cast small pools of illumination onto the massive mahogany table. While the room had windows all around its' perimeter, the shades were drawn. Sitting around this table was a group of very disparately clad men. While the man at the head of the table and the two sitting to his right were clad in the finest gray suits (the man at the head of the table had an even finer garment than the other two), those on his left were wearing either brown trenchcoats, leather jackets, or lab coats. Scattered across the top of the desk was a jumble of papers bearing various diagrams and serial numbers. Those in the suits seemed to be deep in conversation about something, while the man on the left in the lab coat was studying something on his PDA, and the man wearing the leather jacket was conversing with he in the trenchcoat.
The conversations were interrupted when a messenger burst through the only door, situated across from the head of the table. The door was also constructed of fine mahogany, and flanked by guards wearing full charcoal-gray body armour, complete with helmets. The man who'd just come in was clad in a white button-down shirt and tie, and was carrying a briefcase. "Sir, we've received a call for aid from one of our 'allies'. Seems that he's being attacked by some sort of coalition for trying to maintain an economically successful colony. Reports indicate that there's been an escalating state of war on the island." The man at the head of the table emitted a weary sigh at this. "Very well." He turned to the first man on his right, who seemed to be in his fifties or so, taking into consideration the evident balding. "Carmen, is the Fifth Fleet still clamoring for some action?" The man he'd addressed looked down into a PDA he'd just withdrawn from his pocket. "Ah...yes. They can be ready to depart rather quickly. General Kain's troops are on duty, so we can begin preparations immediately." The man at the head of the table nodded. He appeared to be in his forties, though was clearly the one with the most influence here. His force of personality was evident to anyone in the room. "Good, good." He turned to address the man in the trenchcoat, who had just recently stopped spinning idly about in his chair, due to the appearance of the messenger. "Carter, I want you to-" "Yeah, yeah. Go get Kain, tell him to suit up, we're going to war, I know." The man across from Carter who'd not spoken yet frowned disapprovingly at this. Kobayashi (the man at the head of the table) nodded. "Alright then. Dispatch the Fifth Fleet, and we'll try some diplomacy."
Preparations went quite quickly at the docks, and the fleet was prepared to sail out for the mildly disputed island. After everything had been loaded up, the fleet sailed off under the thick cloud cover that had lain so close to the ground it was almost fog throughout the whole loading procedure.

Treacherous storms slowed the progress of the in-transit fleet. 50 foot waves tossed the smaller vessels to and fro, while the larger carriers simply crashed through them. Nothing short of a tropical storm has slowed the massive fleet to less than 15 knots, with no clear skies for 3 day's sailing.
But far ahead, over many dozens of horizons, destiny awaited their arrival.
Stretched out over 2,000 miles, a great convoy of ships stretched from the coast of the ASRC herself, to now less than 1,000 miles of Springfield Island. Onboard these many ships, the first few divisions to be sent ashore to defend Verdun.
General Pershing got word of this during one of his inspections of the city's defensive networks. His favorite NCO, First Sergeant Polston, came up to him and handed him the notice saying, "We've got help coming sir."
Pershing looked at the note. Polston continued, "And not just from us, sir. Our call to the Corporate Alliance has been answered."
Verdun had been constantly preparing for the coming assault. All the land north and east of the city had been cleared, the trees and debris pushed into verdun to add to the defensive works around the city. This low, flat perimeter had been pushed out to over 1,000 yards in some places, since the invading beatian army had aparently slowed down to the point where progress was becoming slow. Many days had passed with no sign of them, so the project had continued. The city's inhabitants had moved towards central parts of the city, to at least try to avoid some of the incoming fire.
Meanwhile, the 2nd fleet, barely holding on from it's stretched supply convoys', was still on station, with several cruisers in Verdun harbor, simply waiting for orders. They too, were among many to be glad to hear the news of the coming reinforcements.
After the recent expansion given to us by ViZion, President John Wilson has ordered there to be an additional 1,500 Majestic Guardians, ages 16-24, be sent to maintain control of the new fort, and the new land, as well as to handle the new equipment donated to us.

We assure you that our forces will stay were they are, and the only movement will be the movement of supplies for the festival. We hope you can allow this temporary cease-fire. General Pershing was astonished. With a force many times larger than his own, he thought his stand was in vain. But as it has turned out, fate, it seems, played in his favor. With the Royal Expeditionary Force only a week's sailing away, and the Corporate Alliance also lending support, hope was returning to the troubled general.

With the men safely ashore, the Major said, "We'll be heading into town now. The humvee behind this one will be your transport. It's about a 10 minute ride."
He turned away and got into his humvee.

Past several checkpoints, and through the winding mess of Verdun, the humvee column eventually stopped in front of the capitol building. It was a busy location, motor traffic and troop movement could be seen and heard in every direction.
The men exited the humvee's and entered the building, led up a flight of stairs, and into a private conference room. Inside this room, General Pershing sat alongside two of his command staff officers.
Pershing and his staff stood as the Beatians entered the room. "Welcome to Verdun." He presented his hand across his desk in hopes of a handshake.

"Well, Sir, you are getting a little ahead of yourself. Ah, the unadorned aluminum pole is in position, no it is time for dinner," said Edwardo, as the one carrying the food, set it up on the table. "A wonderful thing these containers that keep food warm" he continued as the chef began laying out the food and drink, which consisted of meatloaf, beer, wine, brandy, and whiskey. "Almost forgot the most important part," said Edwardo as he produced a tape recorder from his pocket and set it on the table. "Now that the Festivus Dinner has been laid, it is time for the Airing of Grievances, you may go first, General."

"Well if that is the way you truly feel," said Edwardo before he began his tirade. "The world is too cold," began Edwardo, yelling as loud as he could. "The ocean is too big, the sky is to blue, my advisers only tell me what I want to here, most world leaders are idiots, people don't know how good they have it, environmentalists are always complaining about the environment, citizens are always complaining about taxes, and you general, your nation is acting aggressively over a tiny island miles from your nation, your disrespect me, over and over again, you lay land mines on and island owned by my nation, you declare war on my nation, for absolutely no reason, you dress like you have half a brain, half the people in the world should be lined up and shot, life is too short, people sleep too much, and VCR clocks are impossible to set," finished Edwardo, quite out of breath after his lengthy speech.

"Well we didn't invite you hear to argue like children, Mister President, i assume that's your title?"
Pershing sipped his drink.
"The reality of the situation is this," he cleared his throat, "Your nation gave away these lands, which included property rights and all the gimmicks that go with it, which would legally make them our lands now. And with your army currently on station only a few dozen miles from here, that would mean that your nation was the first nation on this island to invade anything.
"Furthermore, i sent a call for reinforcements long ago. Not only my nation, but others from the Corporate Alliance have committed to ridding The Royal Code of this nuisance. And believe me, their methods of negotiation are much more direct than that of my own. The Corporate Alliance nation's, including my own, are all equipped with the latest technologies, and are provided with ever-evolving tactical manuals.
"When my nation's reinforcements arrive, the new commanding general is not going to try to negotiate with you, Mister President. He will stop at nothing to destroy every last bit of Beatian residency on Springfield Island. If i'm not mistaken, the Parliament appointed none other than Sir, General Richard Haig for the assignment, and believe me Mr President, he is not a man fancied by the enemies of the royal code.
"To save the lives of your men, and keep this island in one piece, you and I must come to reason and draft favorable stand-down standards for both parties. Knowing that The Royal Code is invested in this island, you can probably guess we're not going anywhere. Knowing that, i would suggest you start us off, and propose your terms."

One of Edwardo's aides said, "I think you may have misinterpreted what His Holiness, for that is his true title, said. It was simply part of the Festivus traditions, the Airing of Grievances, in which you violently lashing out at others and the world on how they have disappointed you over the last year, no offense was meant by it. I hope you understand," he continued. While the aide was saying this, Edwardo was looking weird, he was clutching his chest with his right arm, and not talking, as the aide finished, Edwardo's head fell face first onto the table. His aides quickly rushed over to their leader. "Are you okay sir?" they asked as they shook they're leader, then one of them checked for a pulse, there was none. "There's no pulse," he shouted, with in seconds they had him on the floor and one of them was doing CPR. It wasn't working. By the time any assistance arrived, Edwardo was dead. His aides quickly send word out of the leaders passing, and the body was prepared to be taken back to the Beatus immediately.

With the Beatians gone, and one of their leaders dead, Pershing was faced with a difficult decision. A new Beatian commander may continue the advance on Verdun, which would necessitate the Royal Expeditionary Force, but if a commander was selected that withdrew, if Pershing landed the REF, it may appear hostile.
The fleet of ships had finally arrived. The men aboard longed to set foot ashore just to be rid of the motion of the sea. Pershing knew this. Given what could happen, he decided to call them in.
The day following Listless' death, the first elements of the Royal Expeditionary Force began to come ashore. Ferries and helicopters worked round the clock to get men ashore.
One such seaking made touchdown on the capitol building's roof. Pershing was told the new commanding general had arrived.
On rooftop, Pershing saw he had been correctly informed. Stepping out from his chopper, General Douglas Haig, an older grey-haired, but professionally trimmed man with a classic royal cavalry uniform. The two men shook hands.
"Quite a mess you got down here Pershing."
"That's right sir. And now we've got to find a way to fix it." Pershing replied.
They began to walk back into the building. As they walked, they continued. Haig said, "I've already sent the Beatians another request for a diplomat. We're gunna give this one more try."
The message that had been sent was such,
To the leaders of The Beatus,
Under a new command staff, the Royal Expeditionary Force has begun to make landfall and assume command of the Royal Colony. We request that The Beatus provide us with another diplomat of good legal standing to negotiate terms before any further hostilities unfold. We expect a response immediately.

With the Beatians pulling back, the REF moved up to the boarder. In the few days past, 300,000 men had thus far been landed thanks to round the clock efforts by the Grand Fleet.
To the boarders they marched. A show of force had pushed the Beatians back, and now the colony was safe.
Haig made himself comfortable in his new office beside Pershing's. Over lunch they continued to make plans,
"We're too committed at this point to just pack up and leave. My staff has already arranged a six month rotation plan to start getting our men back to the mainland soon as you approve the orders." Haig said.
Pershing replied, "I think we should keep the REF on station for a couple months, just as a security measure, make sure we don't get overrun."
"That's what i was thinking also. So i'll draft up the orders, in six months, we start rotations back home?"
"Sounds good General."
Verdun was catching the benefit of the surplus tons of food and supplies being landed to support the REF. The city would surely begin to flourish.
Meanwhile, orders when out to restart the road construction project, which the road crews were eager to get started on.

Cookesland conducts Naval Exercises off Isolian coast
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w107/Cookesland/ddg861204.jpg
The U.S.S. Mensa at sea
In recent months the Cookeslandic territory of Isolia has grown exponentially, and has been the site of a naval demostration.
Picosa City, Isolia - While exact cause of this sudden exercise is unknown, many today observed for their homes or Picosa beach the sudden arrival of 13 addition Cookeslandic naval vessels into the harbor. However, most of the spectacle occurred outside the harbor by the Alovand Islands father out to sea.
Afterwards when asked how they we were answered “The whole operation went, very well” When we inquired as to what the general purpose was, the answer was drastically different “That’s classified” the officer in question refused to give his name. While we don’t know their purpose, we can’t start jumping all over to conclusions. So far Isolia and it’s environs….well most of it’s environs have remained very stable.
The Isolians themselves had little to say other than it was certainly a change up in the daily routine, but none seemed very happy with the ships staying. Who knows what will happen with this certainly unexpected move by the Cookeslandic Government.

Offical Response, The State Department, CERC
The invading army of the Beatus must be withdrawn no less than 75 miles away from the Royal Territory boundary. Hostile aircraft must be grounded immediately. Only if these two requirements are met within the next 24 hours will the Royal Code stand down. Otherwise, the armies of The Beatus are unwelcome in Royal Territory, and shall be removed accordingly. The Corporate Alliance is growing impatient with this situation, and is wanting to press into the war. The Royal Code would like to see this matter resolved as much as they do, one way or the other.
