Gil was abuzz with news that foreigners were coming soon. People were lining the coasts in hopes of seeing exotic ships going by. They wondered if life would be different when the foreigners came.

Pershing was nudged in the shoulder by Admiral Nestor. He looked over, and saw he was being presented with binoculars.
He took them and took a look for himself. "Looks good eh?" He asked the admiral.
"Sure does. Mr. Argine over at RIP Corporation will be most pleased."
"I think so too. Lush tropics, hot climate, pretty much exactly what they were looking for."
Pershing brought the optics back down, and looked back at the admiral. "Let's get ashore. Prepare the men."
A series of commands were passed down, and the landing craft was loaded by upwards of 40 men, who disembarked from the Royal Navy cruiser that had brought them there.
Ashore, they began to spread out on 4-wheeled ATV's to mark the territorial claims made by the ASRC earlier that week.
The Minister of Foriegn Affairs, Thias Kamenpolous, smiled and shook the hand of the man who entered his office. "Ah, good to see you. What's this good news you've come to give me?" He asked. Thias offered the man a seat. "Sir, Caronis has recently founded a colony, Nuovo Aureo Costa, on an island in the Pacific called Springfield Island. Not only that, but we've named the capital after you, Kamenopolis." Thias let out a hearty laugh. "I'm honored! Tell me some things about this new colony."
The man unrolled a map on the Minister's desk and pointed to an almost square plot of land on a grid. "There it is, Nuovo Aureo Costa. New Gold Coast. On it's way now is a fleet of boats, with 15,000 colonists and 90 military personnel. There will be 4 cities, built with materials on freighters. Settlers will be able to expand once the initial cities are built." Thias nodded. "Very good, very good. I find it strange that a country in the Mediterranean has a Pacific colony, but who am I to judge?" He laughed again. The man smiled. "That's all I wanted to inform you of, I'll keep you updated." The man stood up to leave, and Thias waved.

Kostas Braccolini was standing on the deck of the boat. There were Caronian freghters and ships, all painted in silver and orange, the national colors. He could see the small bay coming into view. This was the bay of the NAC, Caronis's first ever colony. He was unused to the Pacific humidity, but he didn't really notice, he was excited to be at this new place. It was a new beginning for the people of Caronis, and he was at the forefront of it.

Aboard SCDC-782049 [OOC: Thats the 782,049th civilian ship registered.]
The massive civilian ship, over one kilometre long, literally ploughed through some of the smaller islands in the path that lead to Springfield Island. Aboard were 300,000 civilians, eager to disembark. These civilians were clothed with typical imported cloth from the Philippines; green, brown, and beige were typical colours. The SMPF officers on the ship all wore grey uniforms, typical of the military police force. Construction crews waited next to backhoes, bulldozers, and steamrollers. Five motorboats took off; they flew across the water to Betusian cities for registration, and two more set off for the coast. A flag was planted, and the massive ship puffed along...

The U.S.S. Aries lay off the coast of the newly aquired territory of Isolia. They had sailed three days out of Herema, where the nearest naval base was. So far it had to be surveyed, but the scouting party had reported good finds.
They had been send to escort the new immigrants who had agreed to come and settle these foreign lands. Whether in search of a new life, cheap land, or both, they had come from all over Cookesland.
Captain Nicoise dispatched some another group of soldiers to the shoreto meet up with the scouting party.

An army captain came up on his ATV and flicked off his engine, dismounting the vehicle and approaching the general, who was in-conference with the Admiral.
He saluted as he approached, and Pershing returned.
"The perimeter is up sir. We're awaiting further orders."
"Captain," Pershing said, "Have your men dig set up quarters for the night, and tomorrow we'll consider where we'll place the barracks."
"Roger that sir." They swapped salutes again and the captain began to walk off.
Then Pershing remembered, "And captain," the man spun around, "that perimeter is closed."
The captain wearily nodded, and mounted his vehicle, riding back off into the thick woodline.
Admiral Nestor said, "This could get politically sensitive right-quick and in a hurry, Tyler."
Pershing gave him a blank stare.

[OoC: This is Cookesland, btw...]
"Stay close." said Sergeant Denson, as they moved farther from the shore. As the wooded lands around them grew thicker, they began to have odd intuitions. "What was that?" one of the privates. "You're just hearing things." replied one of the other soldiers. They then entered a clearing and stopped in their tracks, they couldn't believe the sight before them.
The Caronian Fleet entered the recently named "Elder's Bay" and disembarked at the southernmost tip of the bay. The boats all lined up and let down gangplanks and streams of people stepped off, some laughing, some gasping, some crying. They were every kind of Caronian citizen, rich and seeking more land, poor and seeking any kind of land at all. The Caronian Army soldiers began taking cargo off the boats to build a barracks. Some of the new colonists were buildiers and engineers, disembarking in construction machines to assist in the task of starting 4 new cities.
Governor Braccolini stood on the beach and took the scene in. Besides the noise of contstruction and the sound of the colonists, this place was a serene paradise, albeit not for long. The beach was white sand, and there were palm trees scattered all over. The sky was a blue expanse that stretched as far as one could see, and behind him was the seemingly endless Pacific. This was a far cry from Caronis- an island in the Mediterranean within an hour by boat to another nation. This colony would eventually bring riches and international attention to his country, and provide an area for over-population to expand. It would take a while.
-------
General Antonio Sioufas was the commander of the Caronian Army-in-the-Pacific, which was at the moment only 90 souls. He was in a Jeep, having only slight trouble in the sand, driving along the coast of Elder's Bay. There were several Humvees behind him, carrying troops that were scouting the areas for the next three cities in the NAC, all along the water. They would expand inland eventually, the NAC had substansial inland claims. Who knew what lie within those forests and groves of palm trees and jungle, but that wasn't for General Sioufas to ponder. What he was pondering was the suspicion- almost a fear- of the unknown in that jungle, the unknown his people would eventualyly have to face. And when they did, it would be him that would lead the facing.

First Sergeant Polston worked with his company of men all night to get a tight perimeter set up. Efforts were made to get every inch of the legal boundary accounted for. 50 men stretched across several miles though, was not practical, they would be needing more men to keep these new lands secure and policied.
At dawn, the First Sergeant took a ride back to the beachhead, where building materials for Verdun had been continuously unloaded that previous night.
The beach teemed with chaotic movement, but among the masses of people and cargo going every which way, he found the General.
"First Sergeant Polston! Good to see you again, how we doin' up there?"
"We're good for now sir." he said as they shook hands. "But we're going to be needing more men. That contract we agreed to; it said we're allowed only 100 military personnel correct?"
"Yeah that's right Sarge, why? What've you got in mind?"
"By the way i see it, we bring in some of our civilian armed contractors, those private label companies. There's a good hundred thousand men right there if we needed em."
"That's not a bad idea at all." Pershing thought for a moment, "How many men would you suppose we'd need to keep this place under control?"
"Under control? Maybe a thousand, i'd doubt it would take more than that to maintain order. However, you and i both know we're here for more than sand and palm trees...."
Pershing nodded. "I'll see to it that we get some help."

Sometime later, the General reached a line marked with little orange pennants, which had been planted earlier by previous Caronian scouting troops. They marked the border between the NAC and The Beatus's claim. He turned around, his little trek complete, and drove back in the way of Kamenopolis. Again, he found his gaze shifted towards the inland jungle. What mysteries lie there in the tangle of roots and vines? Perhaps it was his imagination, or the humidity he wasn't used to, or both, but General Sioufas swore he saw leaves rustle, and he saw no birds. "A leopard or something," he mumbled to himself. But something in his gut said it wasn't. A small voice in the back of his head said "We're not alone here."
-------
The Governor stepped back on the boats. These would serve as the shelter for the colonists until the cities were complete. He wondered just how long that would take. Four months? Six? A year? He wished he could have brought more engineers in, but Caronis didn't really have a lot of boats like this to spare, or the money to get more. That's what the colony was for. He gazed towards the jungle and, unlike the general, wasn't afraid in the least. He saw opportunity, he saw enterprise. He saw money. How capitalist of me, Governor Braccoloni thought. I hope the Stoklomolvians don't find out. He chuckled silently.

The sun hit high-noon and the beach traffic slowed down to prevent heat exhaustion.
Pershing had sat down with Captain Tim Price and his fire team for a bit of chow and to discuss how they would be dispersing the coming reinforcements.
"By the way i figure-" Price said as he bit into his MRE main meal, "We've got a long line to cover, and we'll need to be cutting roads too, those four wheeler trails are all we've got so far."
"And what's more Captain, I think we-" Pershing stopped mid-sentence.
The captain gave him a bizarre look, and realized that the general was looking past him at the foothills upspin of the beach. The captain turned around, and saw what had frozen the whole beach. At least 20 barely-dressed, warpainted natives had crested the hilltops, and were armed with spears. The Captain looked back at the General. Then they heard screams. He turned back again to see the natives running into the beach, stabbing and screaming wildly.
"Captain! Get those guys!" Pershing ordered.
"Come on!" Price told his men. They picked up thier rifles, and moved in to intercept the men on the beach. A short jog over, and they got clear angles on a few of them, firing.
Price put down one of the natives, too late to save the civilian he had just speared in the back of the neck. Cracking of gunfire rippled across the beach as several more of the natives were shot dead. One of the Captain's riflemen however, suddenly stopped shooting. Price, from behind could not determine what the problem was, so he went up to the soldier, and saw he had a spear sticking out of his body armor.
"Jesus! Are you alright!?" Price yelled over the nearby gunfire.
"Yeah... the hell did that come from?" the corporal asked.
"Either way, get shooting soldier!"
Price stood back up, and let a full auto burst finish up his magazine, killing another 2 natives. Spontaneously, the others were shot, and their party ceased to exist. At least 10 civilians had been killed, with another 7 wounded. First Sergeant Polston, who was on his way back to the beach for the same reason the captain had been, arrived with another fire team, too late to have seen the action, but they got to help police corpses.

The S.S. Kick 'n the Nuts traveled slowly up the River of Cain, followed by 10 civilian transport ships loaded with 50 thousand citizens each, of the Rogue Nation of Pimp Hands. Plus equipment and supplies for the establishment of Fields of Wrath known more comonly among the people as "more room for me and mine." Citizens of Pimp Hands belive in one thing and one thing only, "we do what we want untill it interferes with someone else's right to do whatever they want."
"Nice name that" muttered Pathfinder Ricochet, "the River of Cain". He watched the bank slide slowly by. The deep jungle on each side of the river conveying a sense of menace, and mystery.
"Just like home, right Captain Humbolt?" Said Ricochet.
"Um, no sir. Not much like home at all." replied Humbolt.
"Ah that's right. You navy guys have no idea of the training we go through to become Pathfinders."
"Well sir, I know that they strand you alone in the swamps of Pimp Hands, sometimes for years." He watches Pathfinder Ricochet expectantly, hoping for conformation perhaps.
"Well, you know that do you" Humbolt replies sardonically. He is not paying attention. His mind on is on the jungle surounding them, and the site of Fields of Wrath which is quickly approaching. He wonders, what could we achieve here, in this place so much like my home.
Pathfinder Ricochet is not sure, but then, they dont pay him to make such decisions, they pay him to serve and protect, and that is what he plans to do.

Novovoronezh, Springfield Island
The massive container ship touched down on Springfieldian soil. The front opened slowly, and then smashed into the beach, spraying sand everywhere. Civilians were running out of the ship and almost literally kissing the ground, having been on the ship for nearly one week. Construction vehicles paraded out of the ship's interior, and the one hundred SMPF officers ran out of the ship and began to perform drills on the flat land nearby. Several hundred civilians with torches, steamrollers, and chainsaws began ripping up nearby trees, and the fifteen government officials appointed by the Commissar ran to a nearby hut which had been scheduled to have been there. Inside, several natives awaited. The first officer spoke in Russian.
"We have arrived with the four hundred crates of munitions. It is on that motorboat over there."
The officer pointed at a small boat. The native nodded.
"We thank you for your kindness, O excellent foreigner. What can we give you in return?"
"What we want is the promise that you will not assault us or the Beatus, who are our allies. You will be able to tell who is who."
"Thank you, your excellency."
The natives ran towards the beach, and a small lorry with the Stoklomolvi flag crudely scraped off drove out of the jungle with four sets of treads. The crates were unloaded and stuffed into the lorry, and the lorry drove off with the natives, now using unmarked AK-2130 Assault Rifles, sitting inside. They waved.
Meanwhile, the colonists set up Quonset huts to live in while apartments were unavailable. Several stores were set up, and the main road was marked by civilians who uprooted grass. Elsewhere, the jungle was catching fire and being cleared for further development by civilians.

Napala, Springfield Island
The ships full of Zoingonian settlers, engineers, craftsman, traders, planters, and insainly rich people finally grined to a halt at the mouth of an inlet, and started to set up camp. Hendrick Jorgenson, the new govenor of said colony, would mannage his colony on the flagship of the fleet for now, as the tents and the city square were put up and work begun on feeding and sheltering the colony. Apparently, it was deemed on the upper part of the claim, that rice, indigo, wheat, and cotton were deemed growable in the area, and plantations were soon started to service and sell the goods to the other colonies.

The area bustles with activity. Buildings are going up so fast they seem to spring from the ground. Everywhere is the evidence of Pimp Hands discipline and organizational skills, as the people prepare the city Fields of Wrath. However, already some are making their way cautiously into the surrounding jungle, eager to begin the homesteading process and start making some real money, even if the government does get most of it, they don’t get it all. In a large tent near the water, a heated argument is currently in progress in front of Pathfinder Ricochet.
“… is why I shot him sir.” Says the defendant, not looking the leased bit perturbed about having just shot one of his fellow colonists. “I have three witnesses here that will testify on my behalf.”
Pathfinder Ricochet looked around the gathered citizens. “Is there anyone here who will speak for the deceased?”
“I will sir; he was an ass who deserved what he got. Hell I almost shot him on the trip over here.” A citizen from the back of the crowd says.
“Very well, you are free to go.” Ricochet seems in a hurry to end the routine trial as DFR Adams comes into the tent. He waits impatiently as the citizens hurry out and then says, “Report”
DFR Adams: “Sir the border patrols have encountered the natives of the island. They seem primitive but we have yet to locate a village. The Pathfinders have attempted communication but have gotten no response. On my way back to report I accidentally snuck up on one of the locals, I guess I startled him ‘cause he tried to shank me with a spear. Summary: situation with indigenous peoples of the Island should be considered hostile.”
Pathfinder Ricochet thinks quietly for a moment, “The local who attacked you… what did you do with him?”
“What did I… well, I killed him sir. It is my opinion that the locals should be subdued.”
“Maybe I should subdue you Adams!” Snarls Pathfinder Ricochet.
“But sir, I thought…”
“That’s why you’re not a Pathfinder! You don’t think!” Ricochet sits quietly for a moment, and then says, “Tell the bushboys to avoid the locals whenever possible. Congratulations DFR Adams, your new task is too establish communications with them. Return without making progress and you will be… out of a job.”
(OOC: Sorry for the short/somewhat crappy post, in a rush but want to get this going...)
An unarmed transport ship had finally arrived. It took a full day of unloading the ship with the supplies, 52 Marines, and 52 civilians. All civilians were between 16-26 years old - half boys, half girls, while all Marines were between 16-24 years old - once again, half boys and half girls.
This group of 104 teenagers and twenty-somethings were selected to begin building and setting up a new Vitolian colony. Left to their own devises, and a leader their own age - 18 year old Governor Lanny Bonds - they set forth to begin building their two villages - their numbers were split, with half being boys and half being girls. One village would be built along the coast, the other deeper inland. What they could expect was completely unknown. This was the first exploration into here known to anyone in the known world. What was known was that where were thick tropical rainforest that appears unadultrated - indeed, it seemed completely untouched by human hands. But were there natives? It they would soon find out.
For protection, while there were only 52 Marines, the other 52 civilians were armed with two handguns, a shipload of ammunition, and other various non-firearm weapons.
They held a three hour meeting as it began to get dark. During this meeting, they had decided on a chant;
Ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
Ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang
Ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang
Ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabangbang
It was quite something when heard. They would camp out along the coast with certain people on watch at all time. However, once light began to just peak out to highlight the rainforest in a faint glow, the two groups would be awake, and would split up into two to begin their colonization. Lanny Bonds had already selected the two Mayors - 23 year old Tom Gordon for the interior village and 22 year old Matt Strong for the coastal village - neither village had recieved a name beyond their desigated "Coastal" and "Interior" titles. It was going to be a wild ride for these young people.

Louis Amour put down the Calizorinstanian flag and yelled to his people "We are here at last!, after months, we've been waiting for this moment, now get to work!, make an airfield, and some homes!"
He walked further inland and discovered a nice source of wood, in the trees that were there and shouted "I've found some trees, and start chopping!" He heard men approaching with chain saws and he said "This way!"
OOC: Sorry about that, Stoklomolvi.
The General, on his way back after surverying, heard the sounds of gunfire and yelling coming from the location of one of the new settlements, this one dubbed "Eldersville", a rather unimaginitive name. The soldiers had planted a flag and looked half done with putting up temporary shelters, but currently they were occupied- with shooting at spear-brandishing natives. His suspicions had been confirmed. The Caronians were winning, but General Sioufas yelled "STOP!" Even the natives stopped and turned.
"The last thing we want is a war with these people," he said to his troops. "Drop your weapons, raise your arms and take a few steps back." His soldiers did exactly what they were told. Turning to the natives, he resorted to crude gestures. "We," he gestured to himself and the Caronians, "want to be," he nodded his head "friends." He gestured to all of them and then clasped his hands together to mean friendship. They looked lost. "Anyone here speak... anything Pacific?" The General asked. "Aloha," someone joked. One of the natives turned and said something very similar to "Aloha". "It's a start," General Sioufas grumbled.
That same officer continued to speak in Hawaiian, apparently having lived there for five years. Though the languages were very different, they shared enough to have a very crude understanding. "He wants us to give them something, as a peace offering," he said. Sioufas nodded and opened the trunk of his jeep. He pulled out a crate, full of rations. "Tell him there will be more, for a long-lasting peace." The officer said something, and the natives apperared to understand the gist of it. "Also, tell him to get his leaders and meet us here in an hour or so, and we'll have our leaders here. There will be no weapons." The General's words were translated, the natives ran off to tell their leadership. "I'm going to go get the governor," the General said and drove off.

The copilot was all sighted in, and let the pilot know. "I'm good back here Jack, target's all set."
"Ok, here we go, let her loose."
"Opening bomb-bay doors... Bomb away." the Copilot said.
Out of the belly of the B52 dropped out a enourmous high-explosive. It took only a few moments to reach the surface, but when it did, it exploded with such velocity, it created a nice flat area 300 meters across in every direction. The explosion was heard no less than 20 miles away, back at the beach.
When the dull boom reached the beachhead, everyone stopped to listen for a moment, and surely enough, as they looked, a fleet of hundreds of armed civilian helicopters were coming towards the island. Several more B52's were spotted as well, obviously with missions to blow away more landing zones.
Pershing was glad to see his plans coming together.

OOC: An eye for an eye, or just a coincidence? The adjective is "Caronian"
Planned Settlement of Eldersville,
Nuovo Aureo Costas, Springfield Island
Governor Braccolini and General Sioufas sat in chairs in front of the Caronian flag, with members of the tribe sitting cross-legged in front of them. The lieutenant who had been to Hawaii was translating. "They want weapons, they have heard that a rival section of natives, they call themselves Kosraneans, may be getting weapons soon. In return, they will stay in the jungle and allow us to expand... five miles-ish into the jungle, and as far west as we want."
"Should we really arm these natives? I don't want them ending up killing each other," the Governor said nervously. General Sioufas shrugged. "What harm can it do? Eventually, they'll run out of ammo and they'll need us, we can dictate the terms." The Governor reluctantly agreed. "Tell them we will give them... 20 crates of guns and ammo," the General told his lieutenant. He did so, and the natives appeared elated. Soon, trucks loaded with crates drove up. The Governor scrawled a quick treaty, he and the General signed, and the Lieutenant managed to explain to the natives what to do, and the chiefs signed what would seem to be their names. The Geneal sighed, having diverted a threat. And that's when the armed natives drove in from the Northeast, brandishing not spears but rifles, and shooting in every direction.
The Governor swore in Italian and ducked for cover while the General also took cover and shouted for troops. "How the hell did they get all that?" Governor Braccolini asked. The General shrugged. "My only guess is Stoklomolvi, but they wouldn't do this... I thought we were allies," The Governor shrugged. "We exchanged embassies, that's about it." The General growled. "I'll have a talk with the Stoklomolvi military."

"Pay a hundred people for a hundred day's work, or drop one bomb in a couple hours?" The Pilot said over the radio to his weapons officer (and copilot).
"Hmm, tough choice... i'll have to go with... drop a big-blue 42."
The large explosion was detected at Jose Naval Air Station. They're RADAR showed a plane to have been in the vicinity of the blast area at the time of the explosion. More planes were inbound. Immediately fighters were launched to intercept what they could only guess to be bombers. Within minutes they had visual contact with a flight of B-52's. They bore unfamiliar markings and had penetrated Springfield Island airspace. The lead fighter made an open band radio broadcast, "Attention unidentified B-52's, you have entered restricted airspace, alter your course now or we will open fire."

"Did he just? He did. You heard him, peel it off."
The three B52's pulled a 15* left bank, and made haste back to the sea to catch the refueler.
Meanwhile, with only one cleared LZ, the other 90 civilian helicopters set down wherever they could find a clear spot.
The reports were sent back to Beth (ASRC Capitol) for the Chancellor to consider.
Both Pershing and Nestor awaited the Chancellor's opinion with much anxiety.
But nonetheless, 1,500 heavily armed civilian contractors were on the ground, and mounting up. They formed into companies and began to push the boarders north, alongside the river in grid E8, pushing the claims of The ASRC into most of grid square E8 north of that river.

Napala was doing quite well, the city was begining to have paved roads, and the city square and common green were looking splended as ever. The colony was exporting a large ammount of goods, trade flourished, and the economy boomed. The first troops from other overseas colonies had arrived, and they carried there armes into the city and stockpiled them in the Fortresses in the harbour of Napala.

Lucror Terra was coming along nicely. The capital, Victoria Urbs, was the only city currently built and ti was only built out of inflatable buildings made in Kampfers. An airstrip had been constructed and every day more supplies came in. In a year this colony would hopefully generate large sums of money from its natural resources and soon to be built factories. It was just another soon to be successful Aurum Doman colony.

Inside the newly constructed command complex, a simple, 1 story wooden shelter, temporary of course, Admiral Nestor met with his command staff.
On the table they spilled out a map of the springfield island and the surrounding areas.
"As you all saw, these people are serious about their rule here, we're going to need to show a little bit of our muscle. Battlegroups Tango and Sierra, from the famed Arterous Campaigns are on war-games not but three days sail from here. I could have them redirected and offshore of springfield immediately."
One of the Commanders cut in, "That would also take away the need for long-range air force missions across the planet."
"Exactly, and since Admiral Holstey and the 2nd Fleet have already set up supply logistics, all they'd have to do is reroute and plot new coordinates."
"Sounds like a win to me. How many ships are we talking about?" the Commander asked.
"Each battle group is centered around 8 carriers, 40 destroyers, 50 guided missile cruisers, a couple battleships here and there, after all, who needs them in modern warfare anyway? And... i'd guess at least 20 or 30 sub surface vessals each."
"A pretty good number then. I'd say bring em in Admiral, nothing shows a nation's power better than a nuclear aircraft carrier battle group."
Later on, the Admiral made his calls to 2nd Fleet. Effective immediately, the war games were called off, and the battle groups made 30 knots towards Springfield island, where they would take up station 100 miles off the coastline.

Once they were on land, people began to put up their tents, and survey their surroundings. The contractors began to make maps of the new territory, and some started to plan small wooden homes that would temporarily shelter people at a descent comfort level.

Seatitle Colony,
Springfield Island
Louis Amour hid behind a log, as he loaded his M-1 Garand, that he had for personal protection. So far they had lost 10 colonists, all scalped by the native Indians, and Louis wanted revenge. He did have the colonists resume work, but had armed guards ready for action.
Meanwhile, he went with K Squad, and L Squad, 5 miles inland to track the indians, where the present scene was happening. He noticed an indian preparing a bow and arrow, and he shot the Indian dead, and with a Rebel wary cry, they charged the indian position, bayonets fixed! He opened fire on the Indians, that surprised, attempted to fire arrows at them, but failed to do so in time, they were cut down by the 9mm and .30-06 caliber bullets.
He moved forward quietly, and motioned L Squad to follow him, just then they heard a shriek from a mile or so away, and he groaned.
The colonists that were being attacked, grabbed sticks to serve as clubs, and started beating the Indians with them, until armed re-enforcements arrived. One colonist, ran into his outpost and grabbed a 18th century era musket, quickly loaded it with blackpowder, and ran outside and fired at an Indian that was grappling with the work party leader.
Ron Pontious, the officer in charge of the Seatitle Police was standing outside his woodland cabin home, when he heard Indian cries, terrified, he went inside and grabbed a Colt Commando CAR-15, and looking out the window, he saw a band approaching, on the radio he cried "Indians raiding Meadowforest Cabin!" He opened fire on the band, and threw a grenade at the party.

The Philip Tonstung Class Destroyer had just finished escorting the Cripistan colonist to the island. Captain Martian stood on the bridge, looking out into the night. "Captain, we are detecting a small craft of some kind leaving the island," said the the executive officer.
"What do you make of it?" asked the Capitan.

Vitolia, Vitolia - In the capital, the village of Vitolia, news has been streaming in for days of the horror on Springfield Island. They sent 52 young civilians, and 52 young Marines, to build up this new Vitolian claim. However, with no contact with the Vitolian inhabitants, this had President John Wilson worried - very worried.
Had these natives - dubbed 'savages' by the other colonial powers - done harm to their 104 young men and women? Maybe the more aggressive colonial powers themselves were savages in their own right, attacking these Vitolian teens and twenty-somethings? They did not know. Maybe all was fine; however, maybe things were all BUT fine.
It was completely and utterly unknown by the homeland Vitolians. It was one of the biggest stories night after night - Any word from the colonizing youth? What was going on in this new island? What, what in the world was going on on Springfield Island?
As such, President John Wilson has put on out the order for 48 select Majestic Guardians - the elite of the elite in Vitolia - to be ready in just six ours for an immediate emergency launch to the new Vitolian colony. Those numbers would, afterall, equal the limit. Even so, Wilson also has put six hundred more Majestic Guardians on alert, and to be prepared to launch if war broke out on the island. In addition to those six hundred MG's, thousands upon thousands of other troops across Vitolia were on alert as well.
Also going along with the launch of the 48 MG's, 500 Vitolian workers and engineers would be heading out as well to prepare an airfield and a seaport, as well as - should everything be going well - assist in building the two cities.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile on Springfield Island, the 104 young Vitolians were adjusting to their new homes. It certainly was different from what they were used to - a booming economy, large cities, and growth beyond words to descibe it.
None the less, all was well. A small native village had been discovered. These people already were equipped with guns - shotguns of sorts - however were quite peaceful. The village of 31 people welcomed the 48 into their homes with open arms. There were language issues. However, they managed to get most of what they tried to across to one another. It also helped that there were a few people in the interior group whom spoke various island languages.
It had been four days since leaving the village, and their own village of sorts was coming together. With the help of this native group - the Vitolians called them the Greentops because of their green headwear they used to help blend into the forest - their village was taking shape exceptionally well.
The coastal group was flourishing similarly well. While they had yet to mean another village, this coastal village was coming together with great easy and speed.
The two groups kept in constant contact, having runners keep eachother updated two to four times per day, sharing knowledge learned and any other information needing to be passed along. The interior group also introduced the native Greentops to their coastal friends.
They knew nothing of the hostilities going on beyond the Vitolian borders, or of the worry and panic spreading across Vitolia, their homeland. After all, all was well in Springfield-Vitolia and its two villages.

It had been six hours. The 48 Majestic Guardians were loaded up as their transport ship began its journey to Springfield Island. Following it was a large cruise ship with the 500 civilian workers and engineers. While there were not cruisers, battleships, or other naval ships, both the cruiseship and transporter has been quickly outfitted with some various basic weaponary for defense should things become hostile around the island. It would be days before they could arrive.
On the other side of the globe, the two villages were nearing their completion. Their alliance with the native Greentops was proving to be quite a help for both sides as their shared technology and assisted eachother.
While the Vitolians knew nothing of the growing hostilities outside their borders, the Greentops knew. This was, after all, their homeland. And within the native population, news spread quickly.
As such, the Greentops knew there may be trouble brought to their region. They heard of these terrible 'newcomers' all across the island. Yet, these newcomers they personally had met seemed completely opposite. Where they not related? Surely they had to be. But it seemed like they weren't.
The Greentops had to decide rather to bring this up to the newcomers they were working so well with.

Meanwhile, a concrete trading post was built near the outskirts of the city, where the natives usually went to. There, they learned how to speak English and Russian, as well as wield AK-2130 Assault Rifles. After having sent the natives munitions for the past week, most of the natives were quite proficient at using the Stoklomolvi assault rifle. She looked over to a group of sociologists who had been send from Cookesland

Then looked over to the Mayor of Picosa City
"There will be more people arriving into the territory everyday and we must have more room for them. Troops will be sent to establish the border between Isolia and Montmartre."
"To the north we must now look, it is unexplored." she continued, "Who knows what resoures it could hold. A team will be sent to explore the northern frontiers. Any questions?"
"No, Madam Governor." they replied

Kamenopolis,
Nuovo Aureo Costa, Springfield Island
1:05 AM, Local Time
The Governor and the General hopped in the General's Jeep and drove off, swerving madly to avoid bullets. Sand sprayed everywhere, adding to the chaos of the occasion. They sped off to Kamenopolis, the sounds of bullets still audible. They reached the city, which was progressing nicely. Concrete foundations had been built, buildings were being raised and even roads were being paved.It was amazing what 15,000 people could do when they put their minds to it. They drove into the acting capital building- one of the boats- and the General took off to his office.
He found a satellite phone and called the Stoklomolvi embassy in Caronopolis. "How may I help you?" Someone asked. "I need the number for the Stoklomolvi military on Springfield Army," General Sioufas barked. "I can't give you that information," the person on the other end replied. "This is urgent," the General said in a commanding tone. The sound of keys on a keyboard tapping was heard and the receptionist said a number. "Thank you," the General said, then hung up and dialed the number. "Hello, this is General Sioufas, in the Caronian colony of Nuovo Aureo Costa. A group of natives armed with guns attacked our colony, and they drove in from your direction. You wouldn't happen to know anything would you?" He asked, trying to sound as calm as he could.
Meanwhile, the Governor found a memo on the desk. "The soldier limit has been repealed," Governor Braccolini mumbled to himself. He made a call of his own. "This is Governor Braccolini in NAC. I need reinforcements, about 2,910 of them. We are under attack by natives, possibly more." A general on the other line replied "Yes, governor," then hung up.
Exactly 2,910 Caronian soldiers got onto unarmed aircraft and headed for the Pacific. It was a momentous occasion for the Caronian military. For the first time in its history since its war of independence in Byzantine times, the Caronian military mobilized against an armed threat, albeit a group of natives with AK-47s. That wasn't what the Governor was afraid of, he was sure the current soldiers could stop the one group. He was worried about how many more natives with guns there were in the jungle, and if the person arming them was sending them to Nuovo Aureo Costa on purpose.

"Your excellencies, I approach the Holy Elders, Blessed and Glorious Instruments of the Will of God on Earth, with a message from the Army-in-the-Pacific." An Elder, a female, spoke in a calm, smooth voice. "What is it?" The aide spoke. "A group of armed natives, equipped with rifles believed to be AK-47s or similar, attacked Caronian soldiers in a planned settlement in our new colony of Nuovo Aureo Costa." The Elders murmed amongst each other, then one spoke. "A shame our brighest hope must be tarnished like this. Tell your commander that Caronis is now at DEFCON 4."

"Ok, that sounds great... yup, i see you now, we'll be ready." Pershing said over his cellular phone. He was talking with the skipper of the huge thousand-foot cargo vessel coming to the harbor. Dozens of smaller tugs cautiously secured lines and pulled the mammoth crater into dock.
First thing to come off, was the crane that would be used to unload all the cargo. Unloading it was a tedious process, but once setup and secured in it's deep concrete pivot, the unloading began.
Miles of cargo trucks were lined up bumper to fender waiting to be loaded up with supplies to be taken to the Verdun construction zone. A twelve hour venture took place for all the cargo to be unloaded and re-loaded onto the trucks.
Coming in from 2nd Fleet, another 1,000 civilian contractors went ashore as added personnel to the construction effort. Buildings who's blueprints had already been drawn up started going up. Small houses mostly to house the crews. A number of platoon-sized barracks were also under construction just outside Verdun by the Royal Army Corps of Engineers to house the partisans.
Pershing was pleased at the progress that was being made. He was pleased to send off his reports to Chancellor Alexander that week. The Royal presence on Springfield was slowly growing. Over 1,500 armed personnel to secure the property, and another 3,000 contractors to get construction of Verdun underway. The 250 civilian investors had been pleased by what they had seen thus far (the incident with the natives not mentioned of course) and Pershing was told to expect no less than 10,000 new residents in no less than 6 months, which didn't leave him alot of time to get Verdun built.

When the boat sped away the helicopter decided to tail the speedboat at a safe distance. It also dropped a RADAR beacon.

ooc: for the love of god, start an ooc thread. =(
While the two Vitolian ships were being held up due to oceanic storms in the Atlantic as they attempted to make their way around to the island, the Vitolian colonists, now being called Vifieldians, continued to upgrade their two villages.
The two villages contained a few small buildings made from mostly the materials available on the island. However, some material was sent along with them, which helped.
The villages had dirt roads connecting the buildings, with a small 'town center' of sorts was built in the center. However, no roads of any sort were constructed - dirt or not - to connect the two villages. There were plans, though, to build a raised walkway through the trees, about halfway up, to connect them.
There were a few watchout locations built into the trees. With the knowledge and technology from the Vifieldians and the native villagers, both groups were able to construct outstanding watch towers. It seemed like centuries-old villages in tropical forests - except for the fact the weapons were, indeed, modern-day weapons. None the less, with no power, no vehicles, and houses built almost totally from the raw materials and trees available to them, it was like a blast from the far past. It was quite different from all the other colonies, and they had been notified of this.
The Vitolian government, however, mandated a 'new start' setup, sending these young adults and teenagers to manage on their own power. And, so far, they thrived. Knowing Vitolians would, over time, be moving here, there were many who decided to become industrious, setting up trading posts, planning for resorts, and working on other types of business as well - especially knowing neighboring nations likely would travel here for its natural and clean setup. No mega cities. No traffic. Only a beautiful paradise setup to please and relax.
They also began to setup exploritary groups to head out and explore the land with the help of their native allies. They were told of some nearby natives, whom were also peaceful. It would take five days, but they would meet all six villages and the one small city within their borders. All of whom, as promised, were friendly people.
Allies? Indeed, crued alliances were formed between the natives and the Vifieldians. Trade was also setup. The natives, of which never were allies, however friendly towards eachother, involved themselves in this new-found idea of trade and diplomacy.
And, it was time to alert the Vifieldians of the hostilities outside their borders. Of the natives who were being slaughtered, of the colonists who bombed, burned, and destroyed for their own gains and greed. And it was only of partial shock to the Vifieldians whom knew of the way the international scene worked these days. Indeed, while most of the island lived in peace for as long as it could be remembered, that was not the way of the 'outside' world.
As such, watchposts were setup at the border to keep an eye on the happening. And an alarm setup was made to alert all of the Vifieldians and their native counterparts of any hostilities that threatened their land. Given that there were only 52 Majestic Guardians versus thousands of potentially hostile and equally or more advanced weaponary to use, this did concern them. None the less, things were continuing peacefully for all within the Springfield-Vitolian borders.

Seatitle Colony,
Springfield Island
Belleau Wood
Louis Amour was dug in, in the classic foxhole, along with the survivors of the massive Indian push towards New Seattle, which had been barely repeled. He had managed to call the President, and a contingent of 25 Navy SEALs was on their way to help the colonists in the struggle against the hostile natives. He saw a lone Indian, and, to his pure amazement, a colonist that was not from Seatitle, nor a Calizorinstanian coming towards them.
He called out "WHo goes there, are you friend, speak!"
OOC: Whomever wants to claim the lone colonist and the prisoner Indian may do so.
The young man - he wasn't but 20 years of age - looked up, dazed. He was worn out. He was hungry. Thirsty. And nearly two weeks in this hell of a forest had caused him to nearly loose his mind. He did not know who he was or where he came from anymore. He was seeing things and hearing things.
He collapsed to his knees, his clothing torn from his time wandering through the jungle. Reaching forward his his right arm, his left supporting him from collapsing all the way, his head hung, he froze. He couldn't even speak. He just reached out.

Novovoronezh, Springfield Island
The situation continued to thrive. Several shore batteries were manufactured in Novovoronezh itself, and were set up along the harbour to fortify the coast. Roads were paved, and a raised highway was being constructed slowly over the centre of the city. There were a total of fourteen apartment buildings constructed in the city, and a census was planned on being sent to The Beatus the following month. At the trade depot, Stoklomolvi officers gave the Kosraenean natives more AK-2130 Assault Rifles, and eventually began giving them MG3 Heavy Machine Guns. Soon after, three LCVPs and a small cruiser were given to the natives, and the natives were seen the next day in the cruiser with the LCVPs hanging off the side. Meanwhile, the free munitions were continued to be given to the natives, who had since conquered the neighbouring tribes and were expanding towards the colony of the Theocracy of Caronis. Stoklomolvi had agreed to send the natives their first shipment of cement and bricks the next week.
Louis Amour ran and picked the man up, he was heavy, but he could carry him. He walked 2 miles to his cabin, and set the man in the chair, and prepared hot cocoa for him, and a warm soup for him.
He shook the man gently and said "You're safe lad, you've come a long way I can tell.."
He woke up in an unfamiliar setting. Next to him was an empty cup of what appeared to be hot cocoa or something similar, and an empty bowl with nothing but a lining of some soup broth coating the bottom and sidings. How'd I end up here? Where AM I? WHO am I? he wondered. The last thing he remembers was collapsing. Clearly, someone brought him here - yet he remembers nothing of that, nor does he remember eatting soup and drinking something. "Hello?" he tried to say, but his voice was gone - all that came out of his mouth was a faint whisper. "Hello?" he tried again with the same result. He could see out the window, it was dark. Someone brought me here... who? Who brought me here?

To the leader of the Stoklomolvi Colony,
We are building a concrete wall around our holdings on the main island, we offer you two options, either A.) we build the wall along the boarder of our two colonies, or B.) we extend the wall around your colonies protecting us both. This wall will have towers along it and a walkway along the top, it will be made of reinforced concrete, and will be 15 feet high and 3 feet thick we can put two gates in where ever you want, either along the boarder between the two of us, or along your part of the wall, also if you opt to have the wall protect your nation you will be responsible for manning the towers and gates with in your territory. I await your reply.
Signed,
Trevor Gabors,
Governor of Beatusian Holdings on Springfield Island
The Vifieldians began marking their borders. They had been given the information on where exactly their borders were. To the north was a river - they called it the Vitolian Inland River, which wrapped around from the center, down around east, and then ran east-west down to the ocean. To the east was Cookesland, which would be easy to identify. And to the west was a small chain of hills which would curve inland.
They marked their borders with various banners stuck into the ground, as well as a five-foot tall wooden wall, which would serve its purpose as markings.

Flintlock Colony Group
Somewhere off the south coast of Springfield Island
The 5 ships of the Colony Group were surveying the area they had been allotted on Springfield. The initial colony, which would obviously by coastal, was to be called Fareska Prime. The three aircraft carriers of the group came to a stop a mile offshore, while the cargo ship drifted in closer, preparing to unload the equipment and supplies.
As soon as the cargo ship was seen safely to shore, two of the carriers broke off and headed east, towards the Vitolian Colony. Prior to their departure, they Flaming Souls Command had donated one of the aircraft carriers to their Vitolian Allies.

Fareska Prime
Set up was going smoothly. A simple palisade and barbed wire provided the furthest line of defense. Inward from that, a concrete wall was being constructed. Wooden bunkhouses, that would serve until completion of the permanent houses stood in the center, with a town hall in the middle. Between the town proper, and the docks that had been installed on the coast, two small factories were being constructed.
~~~
Vitolian Coastal Colony
The Carriers had made good time, and come to a stop a mile south of the Vitolian Settlement. On the carrier that was going to stay in Soulian control, a landing craft was being launched, carrying the commanding officer to shore to organize the hand-off.
The first test of the Springfield-Vitolian alarm was being tested. As spotters - both native and Vifieldian alike - spotted the ships, the alarm was setoff. Warning horns, flames, and word spread quickly throughout the region.
It did not take long before a few hundred people - including 40 of the 52 Majestic Guardians - arrived near the coast, armed and hidden from the sight of the ships as they remained in the forest, peering out and awaiting to see what would happen, and who it was. Were they going to come under attack? After all, they clearly weren't Vitolian - Vitolia, as far as they knew, had no aircraft carriers.
The coastal village was empty. Not a single person was within it. The roughly 350 people watched suspiciously as the single man walked up the beach.
All guns were drawn, aimed and ready to fire at the single man and his craft. At that point, once all guns were steadied and primed to fire if needed, Lanny Bonds - the Governer of only 18 years old - stepped out. "Stop there! Announce yourself!" he bellowed as he stepped forward a few steps before he, himself, stopped.
Matt Strong and Tom Gordon, the mayors of the two villages, as well as Trapp Buck, the 24 year old assigned General of the 52 Majestic Guardians, rushed down to Lanny.
Once they arrived at his side, Lanny told them what was going on. "That ship... that Aircraft Carrier... that's ours now. The Flaming Souls have delivered it to us. "So, Master Bonds, it would appear that we are neighbors on this island. I am glad that we are able to count you as our first meeting here, as we do not know much of the other settlements."
Amidst the jungle, several scores of Kosraenean natives made their way across the desert in lorries provided by the Stoklomolvi government. Along the way, several tribes were encountered, but there were promptly shot by the natives, who had advanced weaponry. As they slowly ploughed their way through the jungle, eventually they came across a small village with people who appeared to be no greater than eighteen. It was nowhere near the coast, but the natives avoided it and continued to travel until they reached the shore. To their left was a small coastal village. They murmured in Kosraenean. Then, they took positions right beyond a crag.
Here in Springfield-Vitolia, all is well and peaceful, and while we have yet to venture into our land, I am sure things are well. However, across this island, war has erupted on many fronts.
"The natives have informed us that many of the colonizers have launched a massive assault, killing many of their fellow natives. It has gotten to the point that there have been bombings, and there are likely thousands dead, I'm sure many villages have been wiped out completely. On top of that, there's intel from the natives that the colonists themselves may be engaging at war. However, we have yet to confirm that.
"What we do know is that there has been a recent influx of some natives coming into our land, likely trying to seek refuge from the hostilities of many of the nations trying to lay total control of this island down." Lanny informed Porter.
"Now, we only have 52 armed soldiers. While they are our elite Majestic Guardians, they are likely no match for the much larger nations which have more advanced weapons and possess more people. We only have 52 civilians as well. The natives outnumber us by many times, however they are friendly to us. Things are going well though here within our border." Lanny finished.
Lanny, who had swivalled around, turned to Porter, "Porter... there may be an invading army. It's coming from inland where we have no allies. I urge you to go back to your ship for your protection. We may have to fight here." he said, then running forward and grabbing his gun. As the group of 350 converged and began making their way towards the alarm, one of the spotters ran up. "Sir! There is a small army moving through our land, coming straight for us! They are reported as hostile!"
Lanny then spoke out, "Prepare your weapons! Prepare for battle!". With that, everyone began to go into their hiding locations, both on the ground and in the trees. They had their guns ready, steady. And then the army came into view. They took aim.
A voice from their northern, interior side shouted, "Stop there! Announce yourself!" The voice could he heard loud and clear, however the person was hiden - as were the hundreds of people who had scattered, but would be ready to rush in, guns blazing.
While the majority of the group had the more basic weapons - only 52 of them were official military units - their vast numbers, knowledge of the area, and ability to blend into the background greatly assisted them. In addition, while they were only 52 in numbers, their skill - the elite Majestic Guardians of Vitolia - helped much to make up for their lack of numbers.
At midnight, with a heavy fog set in, a 400 foot cargo vessel came into dock, right up to the anphib. ramp. The ship extended out it's connector bridge, and armored vehicles ranging from humvees to tanks began to roll off. As the first couple dozen filed out of the way, the path was cleared, and extra support beams placed under the bridge. A single Behemoth III (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11369844&postcount=3397) battle tank made a quick decent down the ramp, it's massive 1115 ton weight literally dented the pavement of the ramp it rolled onto. The six Behemoth II (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9572471&postcount=274)'s were taken to a vehicle pool just outside Verdun, and concealed under heavy camoflauge. The one Behemoth III was taken to the center of Verdun, and parked in the courtyard of the new Capitol building.
At 2am, as the last flight of fighters from Beatus were well out of practical intercept range, a flight of 30 navy seahawks took to the skies bearing 30 pieces of Royal Artillery (reference sig). These too, touched down at the docks, and were hooked up to hydraulic trucks, and taken to military storage units outside Verdun, and placed inside small warehouses. The seahawks made a quick drop, and made haste back to the protection of the battle groups.
With the cargo ship's final contents of food stores and ammunition being unloaded and finished up by 3am, Pershing addressed his approval in his short response back to Admiral Nestor, "In and out in three hours. Outstanding."
Beatusian Holdings on Springfield Island
Now that the tensions elsewhere had ended more military assets were brought to the area. 10 Aðgætni Class Battleships and 46 Philip Tonstung Class Destroyers moved into the area. Also bases had already been constructed on the main land, and a sturdy concrete reinforced wall had been erected along the main land boarder. Shore batteries and anti aircraft missile systems had also been installed to protect Beatusian interests. More fighters had been flown in bring the total number of F-104's to 200. Land equipment had arrived just last week and was fully ready to respond to any threat to Beatusian holdings. The governor had also mandated constant air superiority missions over the island to insure that no aggressive aircraft would get the upper hand.
While the fight was breaking out in Vitolian Lands, Phase Two was being put into effect. The initial 3,000 colonists were instantly drafted into service, and began a harsh and rigorous training regimen. This regimen condensed the typical Soulian Recruit Training Program from four months, down to two weeks. There was a 15% mortality rate to be expected, but when they were done, they would be a well trained fighting force.
Within in the next few days, the other components of the colonization initiative reached Springfield, and began to unload their equipment and personnel and they moved inland to begin construction of the other two planned settlements. The second component brought the new gear they had recently purchased from Doomingsland. The civilian population quickly bloomed to 15,000 as the new arrivals began their colonization. Utilizing modified Dune Buggies, they quickly traversed the edge of Soulian Territory, placing markers for the construction crews to use in the construction of a defensive wall.
Isolia Territory
9:34 AM Cookesland Time
The capital of Isolia was booming, the harbor was full of new settler or supply ships from Roseland or Herema. The new naval base had been constructed finally, and would serve as the homeport of Cookesland's Pacific Fleet.
Two more of the Aries Class were due very shortly, and five newly finished battleships as well as two of the older Orion Class would be arriving shortly.
Just north of Picosa, was the newly constructed town of Silvaro. It had been at this spot where the natives had been met for the first time. The natives for the time being were not as hostile as previously.
Still, things in Isolia were far from perfect.
Off the coast of New Urceopolis
As Neo M. Exelor, governor of Rurallia and personally appointed by Emperor Nero looked off the side of his ship, New Republic, he was a little disappointed by what he saw. The "city" of New Urceopolis more like a "tribal village". He however knew that this would not last long. As those 15,000 people began to arrive on ships every day, he knew his city would grow to a large level. His disappointment was soon obliterated when he saw a map of the island. The Beatusians had been extremely generous with the holdings given to Urcea. After he left the inside of his ship where he saw the map (aptly named the map room), the ship went into a dock on the small New Urceopolitan port. As he made his first step on Rurallia, he knew his future and the futures of his people were bright.
General Sioufas was having a meeting with his highest commanders, the mayors of the cities and Governor Braccolini. "We have reason to believe that a certain band of natives have conquered many others, and are expanding throughout the area. There have been several skirmishes in the NAC, though most of their efforts have been focused on, from what we can tell, the holdings of Vitolia. We now have a total of 7,500 troops in this colony, which might not even be enough. These natives are armed with automatic weapons and equipped with trucks. We have recieved no official statement, but we have reason to believe the arms and equipment are being provided by the Communist Dominion of Stoklomolvi. Whether they are sending them to us and Vitolia on purpose or not is unknown. My point is that we need to increase our defense, and I'll be sending a statement to Stoklomolvi," the General said. "Do we really want war with these natives?" A mayor asked. "Caronis hasn't been to war since 850 AD." "Aren't you forgetting when the Ottomans attacked us in the 1600's?" Another mayor piped in. "Oh, right... I always forget. That's still 400 years. But my point is that we don't war. And what if Stoklomolvi reacts negatively? They've got powerful allies."
"Oh, I assure you we'll be trying diplomacy first. I do not want war, we only have 7,500 troops here. We can't have an Air Force or Navy here, unless we want to go to war with the Theocracy of the Beatus as well, and we are not suited for that. If you'll need me, I'll be writing a statement." The General walked out and began said statement.
Recently, a band of armed island natives has been attacking our colonial territory and that of others. We have reason to believe that the armaments and equipment they use are being supplied by you. We ask that if you are indeed suppling such arms and equipment that you either stop or ask the natives not to attack us. If you are not, any intelligence you may have on who may be supplying them would be greatly appreciated. Caronis has no desire at all to enter into an armed conflict with these natives, nor anyone else. In the interest of the diplomatic relationship between our two nations, small as it may be, we ask that you please assist us in any way you can.
A renewed expedition of over 1,000 of the partisans began to push the ASRC boarder even further west. The boarder was pushed out on a parallel, stopping on a boarder displayed here. (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/GodOfWar102/l_24d80985620c817aee08a11338e02c-1.gif)
As the boarder was pushed, Pershing of course didn't want to trouble the Elgregian settlers, so he sent out a lone humvee across the boarder in search of any Elgregian personnel to deliver the letter to. It read:
To the leaders of the Elgregian Colony,
The Allied States of the Royal Code would like to forge a friendly status with the nation of Elgregia, so that we may relax our boarders to focus on more important issues at hand. Due to our recent expansion inland, we have completely enveloped your northern boarder. As compensation, the ASRC would have no problems at all in allowing the forces of Elgregia to freely pass through our territories north of the Elgregia colony. We could make powerful allies, please consider our offer.
"Sir, we have received confirming news out of Soulia that our colony has indeed been attacked - infact, right in front of the Soulian forces who had arrived just an hour prior. We do not have any more information as of yet." reported one of the Officers.
"Fucking hell. Get 50 Majestic Guardians prepared and launched to the air ASAP. We need to drop them by air for support." said General Gates.
In the mean time, the ships were just but 36 hours out from the Springfield-Vitolian coastline.
President John Wilson read over the message. "What the fuck is going on over there?! I need REPORTS!" he yelled to his aids around him. "Our colony has come under attack - as confirmed by reports out of Soulia and now this - just as we had worried. Yet, we have no contact, and have no idea beyond that WHAT has happened!"
Two C-130 Hercules transport aircrafts had taken off, flanked by Vitolia's only five F-22's. It would be a few hours. And, they hopes, it wouldn't be a few hours to LATE.
The small explosions did more damage to the trees the people took cover in than the people themselves.
In the end, six were killed by the explosions and five were killed by the hostile gunfire. One was killed by the bombardment of allied aircraft. Roughly 40 were injured, mostly the natives, and mostly due to the explosions.
"Fucking shit. They were natives - but they had quite advanced weaponary. Who the hell gave them that stuff?" screamed Lanny.
At last, diverted from the Wilderness campaign, the Royal Army Corps of Engineers was able to send a whole company of personnel to the new colony. 204 men, trained, equipped and ready to make the magic happen. The infrastructure that would be built in the colony would be under the supervision of these highly knowledgeable troopers. Boarded in 19 assorted military helicopters, they departed from Battle Group Sierra on a quick 20 minute flight to the Verdun docks. When Pershing was asked by Army Correspondents about Beatus, Pershing was quoted in saying, "They'd be crazy to actually shoot at Royal Aircraft, let alone take one of them down. They know who they're dealing with, they're not stupid people." And with 2 battle groups boasting 4 carriers each, who would argue with that sort of logic?
The General's plans were coming together nicely; he had a good start to Verdun, a growing population, as well as a rising military presence. The officer at the screen turned around. The computer screen showed two fleet groups with several large looking ships, which appeared to be carriers.
"It appears that the Royal Code is sending a battle group to Verdun. Let me zoom in for you."
The satellite focused on one of the carriers, revealing men who appeared to be from the Royal Code.
"Shall we send this to the Beatusian officials, sir?" the satellite inquired.
"Transmit data immediately."
"Yes, sir."
The information was relayed to the Betusian command at the island, and the transmission was soon completed.
“Go ahead” said Pathfinder Ricochet.
The confident young man began giving his report in an almost bored tone of voice. “The S.S. Pain in the Ass made contact today with Lighthouse…”
“Lighthouse?” Interrupted Ricochet.
“Yes Sir, you said the town at the mouth of the river needed a name so we named it Lighthouse.”
“Continue.”
“They are carrying John Ominor’s reply for requested diplomatic relations. I quote, “If Pathfinder Ricochet is dumb enough to let foreigners onto his property, then let ‘em. Mainland Pimp Hands remains off limits to outsiders!””
“Well, it’s good to know our xenophobic leader is as stable as ever. Continue, I don’t have all day here.”
“Yes sir, the ship is also carrying 1,000 HOLs. I guess the mainland heard news of the military changes going on around here. Also sir it appears that the Stoklomolvi, on our eastern border, have begun building a wall around their territory.”
“Interesting, should we be concerned?”
“Well Sir since the Crispys have recently been granted settlement privileges on our west border, well… I would be more worried about a nation that prefers its own citizens deep fried. Some happier news, the river defenses are up, each village along the river is completing preparations as we speak. Fields of Wrath is complete. All, 22 buildings have been set up, and the subterranean work has begun well ahead of schedule. No report yet from DFR Adams, but the locals seem to be leaving us alone. No homesteads or villages have been attacked.
“Very good soldier. Send a message to the Stoklomolvi requesting an ambassador exchange. Have the S.S. Pain in the Ass, leave 250 HOLs in Lighthouse, bring another 250 here, and spread the rest out among the river villages. We will wait on Stoklomolvi’s response before changing troop dispositions along the border.”
Dawn.
3 helicopters had plunged into the sea that previous night, with 19 souls lost. The remaining choppers managed to evade and set down outside Verdun.
Connected through the world wide media, that morning, all over the ASRC, the report was out. The Army Correspondents in the colony gave detailed reports on what had happened, and the issue immediately went to the Parliament.
"The act of aggression with the intent of taking the lives of ASRC citizens has been interpreted as an act of war by my top Generals." Chancellor Alexander said to the Parliament. "It has become clear to my staff and I that War will be the only way we will be able to assert our authority on the Beatus commanders."
The Parliament voted at 8:00 am that morning, and at 8:10, the tally was in. 93 for, 7 against. The ugly shadow of war had fallen upon the ASRC. The Parliament voted for a full-deployment. Which meant additional naval battle groups would be diverted to the area, all availible airborne divisions would be deployed immediately, and the huge Royal Army would ultimately be fully activated, ready for tours in Springfield.
While all the talk of deployment was going on, General Pershing, back on Springfield island, was taken back into Verdun, inside the net of air-defenses. Notifications went out right away regarding the now-hostile status between the ASRC and Beatus, and the troops were on high alert.
2nd fleet, moved in from 100 miles, to now less than 25 miles offshore. Her 8 carriers had sprung to life, preparing hundreds upon hundreds of aircraft for sorties for the coming days and weeks. Admiral Nestor had assumed command, and detailed plans for the coming campaign were being drawn up by the brightest military intelligence officers that were available.
The Allied States of The Royal Code would not tolerate aggressive acts of war, and henceforth has begun to awaken it's enormous military machine.
As the C-130's and F-22's entered Springfield Island airspace they were met by 12 Beatusian F-104's. The F-104's fired warning shots with the tracer rounds from they're guns, and waited for the unidentified aircraft to alter they're course.
The C-130's grazed the coastline, dropping their loads of 50 Majestic Guardians. The F-22's, meanwhile, fired warning shots back just after the a message was sent out, "Unidentified hostile aircraft. Do not fire again. We are dropping our loads off due to hostilities within our border. Again, do not fire or we will engage."
With that, the five F-22's entered a defensive formation while the C-130's began to bank towards the international waters.
Below, the 50 Majestic Guardians made their way quickly up the beach towards the treeline. Two spotters alerted the Vifieldians of the 50 MG's arriving.
They had also received word that the Vitolians had no means of communication to their homeland, and so they sent over one of their spare communication clusters.
"Well, one thought about the wall. We will certainly need to - in unclaimed lands - clear the forest no less than three-quarters of a mile away from the wall to see easier incoming troops - hostile and friendly alike." Troy said.
"Also," Lanny began, "I suggest we begin befriending the natives outside our borders as well. They may come in very helpful in the future. Also, do you plan on extending this wall around Kansiov in addition to our two lands?"
I guess our next step is to figure out who else is here, and who else is going to prove a problem, potential ally, and who will stay neutral to our goals. Lanny, what do you have on that, as the one of us who has been on this island the longest?"
"Well, the one that we want to push for the most as an ally is our neighbor, Cookesland. A potential ally that doubles as a neighbor is always good. We have not come into communation much with any of the colonies, however, so we do not have much in the way of comments on this subject as of yet." Lanny said.
Governor Eglea was visting the newest town in Isolia, Silvaro. It had just been connected via railroad to the territorial capital. There was a large celebration in the Governor's honor. Already she could see the troops getting off the trains and headed to the north, to discover what lay there and make claims.
She thought of something just then, and asked her advisor "Have we made contact with any of our neighbors yet?"
"No we haven't really talked to any of the other colonies in the region, why?"
"It's always good to know who is around, have some one set up a communication line up to Vitolia when we get back to the capital."
"Yes, Madam Governor."
The C-130's grazed the coastline, dropping their loads of 50 Majestic Guardians. The F-22's, meanwhile, fired warning shots back just after the a message was sent out, "Unidentified hostile aircraft. Do not fire again. We are dropping our loads off due to hostilities within our border. Again, do not fire or we will engage."
With that, the five F-22's entered a defensive formation while the C-130's began to bank towards the international waters.
Below, the 50 Majestic Guardians made their way quickly up the beach towards the treeline. Two spotters alerted the Vifieldians of the 50 MG's arriving.
They saw the unidentified aircraft turning back toward international waters and held they're fire. Moments later they received a message from the base ordering them to return to base, to refuel and rearm for air-superiority missions.
A news anchor sat behind a desk talking to the camera.
"This just in, we have reports of war being declared by The Allied States of The Royal Code. This is apparently in response to the downing of three of they're military helicopters of Springfield Island. We have reports verifying that The Allied States of The Royal Code had been notified that they could not have military aircraft in Springfield Island airspace, repeatedly. We also have video from the aircraft gun cameras showing that the aircraft fired several warning shots, which were ignored. I am now being told that His Holiness, Edwardo Listless, is about to make a statement. We go live now to the Royal Temple, for His Holiness, Edwardo Listless."
Edwardo Listless sat on a couch in one of the many sitting rooms of the Royal Temple. He was in his military fatigues, had a .45 in its holster on his belt, and a M14 in his hands.
"My people, today we have been accused of acting aggressively. When it is our enemy who has acted aggressively. This pictures you are now seeing show a build up of The Allied States of The Royal Code naval vessels off the coast of Springfield Island. We also have intelligence that tells us those helicopters were carrying military equipment to facilitate a military take over of our territory. Now that you see the true evidence who do you think acted aggressively, the ones who were simply enforcing the rules, or the ones trying to steal land from another? Action must, and will be taken. I myself, am leaving for Springfield Island, to personally command the troops there. In my absence, Jim Lange shall be acting leader. Thank you, and may the Great Bob be with you."
To those who have territory on Springfield Island,
The Beatusian Forces will no longer be able to insure the safety of your colonist form external forces. The Allied States of The Royal Code is invading, and if you do not wish your civilians to be harmed, I suggest you evacuate them ASAP, it may already be too late. Also you may wish to send in more military forces to secure your territory. Any assistance would be greatly helped. His Majesty, the Emperor Julius Nero, demands that this puny nation known as "The Royal Code" now completely stands down on its military operations off the New Springfield coast.
His Majesty is not amused by this "muscle flex".
Therefore, His Majesty's Fourth Battlegroup of his Ninth Fleet will be deployed just outside New Springfield waters. As well, a force of ground troops are being prepared that we are not at liberty to reveal their number or composition.
Stand down, The Royal Code, or we will declare war upon you.
An Undisclosed Military Instillation on Springfield Island
The troop carrier Edwardo Listless was on touched down at the dirt landing strip deep inside the jungle. Edwardo looked back at the men of the Squad under his command, they were the best of the best, hand picked by him. Most of them had served under him during the revolution. Since then he had trained with them one week end a month. He know they were ready. The plane wasn't staying long, so they had to be quick, another plane was just behind them waiting to land, and a plane behind that one, and so on and so forth. Half the Beatusian Army was mobilizing. There were already naval ships in the area, as they had escorted the Cripistan colonist there, and more were on the way. Naval air units were landed every half an hour from the mainland, also 20 air force KC-130 refueling planes had been brought in to help maintain an adequate number of planes, in the air. The entire armed forces of the Beatus had gone to DEFCON 1 maximum readiness, if The Allied States of The Royal Code tried anything, they would be ready.
The ships with Vitolians had arrived not a moment to soon. With The Royal Code preparing their large assault upon the island, all civlians are being officially ordered to take up arms. The 500 new arrivals are also begining to build bomb shelters. The 48 new Majestic Guardians are setting up and preparing for war should the assault be launched.
The ViZionarian ship, loaded with 2,000 of their own troops and equipment, had also arrived at the time time, just behind our own. Given that their location was just south of us, it took roughly the same amount of time to arrive for either shipment. The ViZionarians had been kind enough to send us support while we were in talks of an alliance after we expressed our concerns over the growing hostilities on Springfield Island.
The natives are also coordinating their defenses with our own. In addition, the trainees on the new Aircraft Carrier, dubbed the VGN Lancing, have begun bombing an area in the Springfield-Vitolia forest to make way for an emergency airstrip.
Back at home, Vitolia has ordered up all military forces to prepare for war. An additional 5,000 troops are currently being loaded onto multiple transport aircraft. Multiple cargo aircraft are being loaded up with weaponary, which will be dropped down to the Springfield-Vitolian colony.
New Urceopolitan settlers are ordered to take up arms. A special stealthy airdrop provide the settlers with ten thirty-caliber machine guns. As well as the seventy-five regulars, ninety settlers with hunting and vintage rifles and ten settlers with machine guns are ready to combat invaders as they wait for the Urcean Imperial Army to arrive.
2,000 ViZionarian troops and their supplies had arrived at Vitolia's colony. He had expressed concern to the ViZionarian government, in which we had previously been in a meeting to form an alliance. Let it be known, The Royal Code, that should a single ViZionarian Peace Keeper be harmed, there will be hell to pay upon your own people. And that is not, I mean not, restricted to this island.
We appreciate your support. We will be making an island wide announcement soon, but we will tell you first as you are the first to pledge to help us. If they choose to attack us, who ever takes TRC territory can have it. They will then no longer be welcome here. Air cover to help maintain air superiority over the island is what we really need, you are welcome to use our KC-130's to refuel your planes, the frequency for coordinated air defense is enclosed. It would be preferred if you used your own airfield but if you do need one, you can use ours, we just don't want it to be too crowded, if we need to get the fighters up fast and all. The forces are much appreciated but, I think we need to remember the close quarters of the island, and the fact that there are civilians there, I don't think it is advisable to use biological, chemical, or nuclear weaponry, unless the enemy uses it first. If they do, you have full authorization to do as you deem necessary. Also orbital weaponry is also not a good idea, as if it is off the mark we have the problem of civilians on the island. If you are careful you can carpet bomb, but not until the enemy makes an agressive move, I.E. attacks something, we don't want to look like the bad guys here.
The Aurum Domans were pretty pissed that conflict was coming to their new colony. Conflict was bad for business and business was what colonies were for. Several precautions were taken even though the Aurum Domans weren't being specifically targeted. The citizens were formed into militia groups and drills were run for evacuation into newly built bunkers. Regular air patrols were occuring around the colony by the single 12 jet squadron of FA 16 Priests in the country. One thousand more Army soldiers were flown in over the next several days and promptly began building fortifications.
Meanwhile, Aurum Doman merchants still needed to send their goods back home to the mother country for processing and with the smuggling lanes off the coast broken by increased military presence and a looming battle the merchants had decided to ship their goods by air. The plan was ingenious, C130Js carrying soldiers to the colonies were loaded with goods for the return journey and since the Beatusians couldn't interfere with the military they never had to pay the ridiculous tax.
On the ships were approximately 3,600,000 Imperial Guardsmen, along with around 15,000 Type 125 Main Battle Tanks and an assortment of other vehicles. Six Stoklomolvi military satellites flew above the Royal Code's Springfield claim, and three spy satellites were dispatched to the Royal Code itself. Meanwhile, the bulldozers used for construction slowly flattened patches of jungle, which was to be used to reach the Royal Code. Along the way, natives watched the bulldozers, and once they realised what Stoklomolvi was doing they took machetes and axes and began chopping down trees. The natives had received their first shipment of concrete, and a Stoklomolvi construction academy was built in one of their villages. An apartment was underway.
To the nation of Urcea,
A state of war shall not exist between our two states, as no aggressive acts have been exchanged between our factions.(and ooc: puny? i'm nearly as large as you are...)
The colonists on Springfield Island were a top concern for the Royal brass. Emissaries were sent forth, to, in person, notify these nations that the Royal Code was in fact, not trying to take over the entire island, or invade their territories.
In the jungles of Royal Territory, the troops continued to stand by to repulse any Beatus wanderers.
Though they were not expecting to hear back from The Beatus, 2nd Fleet sent out an all-wire, all channels telegram to Jose NAS, containing the following message:
To the nation of Beatus,
In light of your recent attack on unarmed Royal aircraft, the parliament has moved to declare a state of war between our two states. Royal military protocol for armed conflict of this nature states that we, as the defending nation, may, without limitation, defend the territories we have acquired in the field of conflict. Your islands will not necessarily be invaded or struck by long range weaponry. The international picture for other nations certainly wouldn't look well, the tourist attraction to the island would be decimated and the economy of the island would implode. To uphold such respect to the investor nations of the area, The Royal Code's armed forces have opted to operate in our Defense Protocol 1 system. This simply means, any aggressive attacks by the nation of Beatus will be met by one counter-attack by the nation of the Allied States of The Royal Code. The ASRC has no intentions of taking all of Springfield Island, or wiping out the nation of Beatus. We do, however, have unrestricted rights to traditional commerce implications, and will not stand to have our economy discriminated upon. For every ally the Beatus brings into the conflict, the ASRC will meet with 1 ally. The ASRC has no intentions of making the dispute a global problem, and limited warfare is a top priority.
Having heard our military protocol, as is customary in Royal Armed Forces tradition, we will offer our criteria for peace:
-The ASRC, and ALL nations on Springfield island will have all military sanctions removed, including aircraft.
-The nation of Beatus must deactivate all RADARS with ranges over 100 miles, to ensure the domestic sovereignty's and private securities of the other colonist nations.
-Finally, the Beatus must reduce local combat air power to less than 100 aircraft, which will be matched and mirrored by the ASRC in-turn.
Royal politicians are not mentally unstable men, as we hope your nation can see. We are not a war-mongering people, but we have the rights to defend our economic interests.
To Whom It May Concern, The Nation Of Royal Code
The Holy Roman Empire as of now has no interest for war with a comparative nation nor do I. However, I do now request that any Urcean property to not be harmed in this "fight" with Beatus.
I do also request that you allow my military forces to enter Springfield Island waters, unharmed, for the conquest of Cripistan territory. The Empire has a large interest in Cripistan and are fighting them on multiple fronts.
Thirdly, we request that you withdraw your threat to "conquer all of Springfield Island". This would also cause war between the Holy Roman Empire of Urcea and the The Allied States of The Royal Code
Sincerely,
Julius Nero
The entire board was in uproar once the demands were revealed. They were furious with the Royal Code, but after one hour of debate they made a decision. They were to tell the Beatus that they could lift the restrictions, deactivate radar, and lower the aircraft count. HOWEVER, the Stoklomolvi Philippine RADAR and the Stoklomolvi airbases were to be reinforced, and several Beatusian airbases were to be installed at the nearby Stoklomolvi-owned islands. Also, on the island itself, the Beatus was to be able to reserve one Stoklomolvi airstrip with approximately six hundred planes; essentially, while they were Stoklomolvi, they would be owned by the Beatus, not Stoklomolvi. After the idea was given to the Commissar, he disagreed, and the whole idea was scrapped. They then sent a courier to the Beatusian Embassy with a hand-written note.
Forward this message to Mr. Jim Lange. We will be able to supply your men with, well, supplies from the nearby military harbours and bases in the Philippines, which we estimate to be approximately 65 nautical miles away from Springfield Island. If possible, do not cave in to the Royal Code's demands. You may base aircraft in the New Vladistov Oblast in Springfield Island, and this airbase is likely to be safer than your other locations.
The ten carrier groups had arrived at Springfield Island. Each group consisted of 3 Nimitz-Equivalent Aircraft Carriers, a destroyer squadron, two guided missile cruisers, three guided missile destroyers, two attack submarines, and a supply ship. So all told there were 32 NE Carriers, 10 destroyer squadrons, 20 Missile Cruisers, 30 Missile Destroyers, 20 Attack Submarines, and 10 Supply ships. Combat orders were issued, and Soulian Aircraft soon filled the sky. They had been given a rotation so that they could sustain constant aerial superiority.
Subject: Soulian Aerial Presence
As per our previous agreement regarding us aiding in defense, we shall have constant flights over the island based off of our carriers. They will be maintaining open radio contact for anyone to contact them. Fifty percent of our carrier group escorts will patrol the waters around the island, to prevent aggressor navies from gaining a foothold and to effectively blockade the island to them. If we can assist in any other way, please inform us of how.
Open message to all colonies -
As of right now, we, the nation of Flaming Souls, hold aerial superiority over Springfield Island. Any nations allied with Beatusian command will be safe from attack, however any others will be issued a maximum of three warning shots. If, upon the third warning shot, non-allied aircraft do not break away from Springfield Island Airspace, they will be shot. Consider this your first, and only warning from us.
To: The Holy Roman Empire of Urcea
We have heard that you are initiating aggressive actions against a much smaller, and less defended colony. Our satellites have also recorded the self massacre of Cripistani civilians as a direct result of your heavy handed tactics. Be assured that we will be airing the story worldwide. We here feel that it is time that you cease your bullying tactics, and worry more about attempting to get along with your neighbors. Should we hear so much as a whisper about your involvement in anything that should befall the Cripistani Colony, we will not hesitate to respond in kind. I hope you understand the seriousness of this situation.
The armed police patrolled the city, as worried citizens stepped out of doors, seeing if any threat would come to the city. There was rumors, although vague, of an action perhaps going to be against another colony. It had been dismissed however by Governor Louis Amour as "Nonsense, we are not interested in jeopardizing our own colony, and anyway, we do not have the motives, or the time for such a barbaric thing."
However, the armed policemen had increased in the last couple of months, clearly meaning that something was in the air.
To Whom It May Concern, The Nation Of Vitalia
I have no interest in fighting the fair Vitalian people. The Urcean Empire has claimed this land in our name and you have no right to restrict me from it.
You support the genocidal Cripistan colony? They executed over 50,000 men and women because they simply "don't want us to have them".
Vitalia, I mean in no offense, is a nation alot smaller than Urcea. We have no wish, as mentioned to fight you in a war that you would no doubt leave.
Now please, do not involve yourself in something that you should not be.
A renewed expedition of over 1,000 of the partisans began to push the ASRC boarder even further west. The boarder was pushed out on a parallel, stopping on a boarder displayed here. (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a53/GodOfWar102/l_24d80985620c817aee08a11338e02c-1.gif)
As the boarder was pushed, Pershing of course didn't want to trouble the Elgregian settlers, so he sent out a lone humvee across the boarder in search of any Elgregian personnel to deliver the letter to. It read:
To the leaders of the Elgregian Colony,
The Allied States of the Royal Code would like to forge a friendly status with the nation of Elgregia, so that we may relax our boarders to focus on more important issues at hand. Due to our recent expansion inland, we have completely enveloped your northern boarder. As compensation, the ASRC would have no problems at all in allowing the forces of Elgregia to freely pass through our territories north of the Elgregia colony. We could make powerful allies, please consider our offer.
Friends, our homeland government has recently announced to us a massive capital expenditure program, funded primarily through tax receipts earned via our highly efficient automobile production sector designed to upgrade the civilian infrastructure of our colony on Springfield Island.
As part of this effort, our government is upgrading our main population centre Clichy on the island of Amélie (the largest in the chain in sector 8F), to city status. A freeport, where all colonies on Springfield Island will be permitted access to at zero rate tariffs is to be established. We further intend to develop a space port on one of the southern islands, with our intended launches visible from the embassies to be established at Clichy.
Royal Code, we certainly appreciate your offer to permit access through your territory across our northern border and look forward to a prosperous and mutually beneficial relationship, as with other nations on our shared island home. As a further facet of the development those relationships we would like to further announce the creation of several new 8 lane freeways.
The western freeway (to be named) will emanate from our new city Bougainvillea (which is to be developed on the eastern peninsula of our lands in sector 7F). It will have a northern spur running to the border in the direction of Silvaro, The United States of Cookesland and a southern spur running to the border in the direction of Picosa City.
Another freeway will be constructed to run from Bougainvillea, north by northeast towards Verdun in The Allied States of The Royal Code. While yet another 8 lane freeway will be developed running eastwards along the coast to Clichy.
While our government is providing 50 billion Thalers (Th) (1 gm of gold current price Th15) in funding, not all of the construction will be undertaken by the Elgregian state. We hope to open the construction of the necessary bridges across the straits to Clichy (and future possible deep-bore tunnels across the estuary) to full open tender, so that our neighbours may participate in these projects.
Furthermore, we hope to establish a forum in one of our new civic buildings where leaders of the island's colonies can meet to discuss issues of mutual concern.
Upon reading your response, the ASRC would like to openly contribute to the construction effort of such highways, as a demonstration of our gratitude towards our friendship. A number of Royal battle tanks can be fitted with special plowing gear to help clear land, and the Verdun motor pool can provide many thousands of tons of special equipment to assist in the effort in constructing the massive highways. The ASRC could begin construction leaving Verdun, and start making for the Elgregian boarder, all we request is your drawn proposal on-map.
Pershing read over the document his staff had prepared, signed it, and handed it back to his secretary. Onward to the next line of business, a letter from the Chancellor. He wished to inform the General that Royal ground forces were up to 20% total deployment readiness, and that he (the chancellor) was glad to see that The Beatus had not attacked Royal troops or property since the, now nationally famous "massacre at midnight."
If the enemy had been seconds slower he would have taken a bullet. The soldier hoped that the sound of his fire had alerted others in the area.
The soldier, Sargent Prims, heard the sniper shot. He dived behind a rock and heard some one tell him he was going the wrong, way. They obviously though he was an idiot. He knew they were The Royal Code troops, why did they insist on trying to deceive him, especially after shooting at him. He pulled out a grenade, pulled the pin, and lobbed the grenade in the direction of the enemy sniper. Moments later a large cloud of smoke occupied the space between him and the enemy. He got up, fired the last ten rounds of his clip wildly into the smoke and took cover in a bush on the other side of the clearing.
"Reynolds, you've got concealment and he's under cover, come on back!"
Reynolds picked himself up and scurried away in a spring back into the thick tree's, making his first hundred yards in a 10 second sprint. The sniper waited to see what the Beatian would do. He didn't especially want to hurt the man, and he certainly wouldn't be spotted by him, partly the reason the sniper watched with such fascination. As the smoke cleared, and the line of sight clear, Reynolds had absorbed back into the frontline atop the ridge, and the sniper had not seen any movement, let alone through the cloud of smoke.
Sargent Prims, had an idea of the direction and angle of the enemy sniper fire, and there for put the sniper somewhere up on that ridge, he had no idea where. He loaded a new clip but the bipod down aimed at one end of the ridge and fired 20 rounds, a full clip, across the ridge. He knew that if he hit anything, chances were it wouldn't be hitting back. He loved the 7.62mm cartridge, had much more power than a 5.56mm cartridge.
A.) You will pay reparations to the amount of $10,000 to the fallen soldiers family for his death.
B.) You will leave Springfield Island and never return.
C.) You will admit to that young boy's family that you are the ones who murdered him.
D.) You will withdraw all military forces from the area of Springfield Island.
E.) You will pay $100,000,000 in reparations to us and our allies for the expenditures incurred while defending this island from your imperialist ways.
Once these demands are met, then we will make peace with you. If you kill another of our soldiers, we will take action against you, it is only because of our deep compassion that we do not level your colony now.
The bulldozers paved a somewhat clear path out of the Stoklomolvi colony. Outside the border wall, a small concrete redoubt was underway. One Stoklomolvi Imperial Guard platoon wandered about the jungle, watching for any hostilities, native or foreign. One squad separated and somehow ended up near the Royal Code. Three of the ten men actually entered the territory, and their woodland camouflage served them well. However, one of the men felt something was amiss, so he and the others began to crawl on the forest floor.
Your soldier wandered into our territory during a time of war, did not respond to negotiators, and did not withdraw after a warning shot. There was nothing more that could possibly have been done to save his life, especially considering the soldier of The Beatus fired first, with intent to kill. We urge you to re-read our war protocol, as for every attack you make, the allied states will match it. We will not go to a state of aggressive war with The Beatus, but if beatian forces attack Royal forces, first, then, and only then will the ASRC attack in-return. We have stated our protocol time and time again. The Beatus aparently see's itself under some sort of 'invasion' by Royal Armed forces, but the reality of the situation is, the ASRC took action to lift sanctions to protect our economic interests, and nothing more. Both times the nations of the ASRC and the beatus have exchanged live rounds, the Beatus has fired first, despite, our passive presence and activities. The Allied States of The Royal Code will not stand to be threatened by a nation who can barely call itself sovereign, in the grand scheme of nation timelines. The ASRC is declaratively enganged in a defensive war, wheras we will defend ourselves to ensure the protection of merchant economic activity, such as our road construction program.
You see, my peaceful demands of Cripistan's claim has of yet been met with resistance. While our military force is en route, we would like to go to you first.
My first question. Will you recognize our claim to Cripistan's claim? As you may or may not be aware, Cripistan no longer exists. It is in a state of civil war in which no "incumbent government" exists. Urcea is a part of this. Cripistan's colonial government is a genocidal one, as it had slaughtered over fifty thousand of its own settlers.
My second question. If you will not politically force the colony into Urcean hands, will you allow the Urcean Expeditionary Force to enter Springfield Island waters? This military presence will not last long, however, since we will own a large claim after this invasion, we ask that you allow us to go over the one hundred troop limit to a hundred and fifty troops, considering we will have quite a bit of land to defend.
I eagerly await your response.
To Julius Nero,
We know far to well about the collapse of the Cripistan government. It was due to a near war with my nation over hostages, but anyway, as the governor of that colony killed himself I see no reason why you can not take it, as technically the land is not actually owned by a government it is open to anyones colonization. If you want those already there out, that is your own business, not ours. Also if you look carefully, the 100 troops limit was for the initial force sent, after you establish your initial colony you may bring in as many troops as you wish, also, there is a war going on so be extra careful as many on the island are a little trigger happy, be sure that your troops clearly state they you are to everyone they meet, and that your flag is flying on all your ships, also remember no military aircraft. Thank you and have a nice day.
We urge you to re-read our war protocol, as for every attack you make, the allied states will match it. We will not go to a state of aggressive war with The Beatus, but if beatian forces attack Royal forces, first, then, and only then will the ASRC attack in-return. We have stated our protocol time and time again. The Beatus aparently see's itself under some sort of 'invasion' by Royal Armed forces, but the reality of the situation is, the ASRC took action to lift sanctions to protect our economic interests, and nothing more. Both times the nations of the ASRC and the beatus have exchanged live rounds, the Beatus has fired first, despite, our passive presence and activities. The Allied States of The Royal Code will not stand to be threatened by a nation who can barely call itself sovereign, in the grand scheme of nation timelines. The ASRC is declaratively enganged in a defensive war, wheras we will defend ourselves to ensure the protection of merchant economic activity, such as our road construction program.
To the Royal Army Command Staff,
What do you take me for, an idiot. "Oh, he wandered into our territory and fired first." You must think me stupid if you expect me to believe that highly continent turn of events. As for the first time, military aircraft are not needed to ensure economic safety. You were building up for an invasion. You are the one how does not deserve to call your nation of savages "sovereign". You think because you are bigger you can bully use into doing as you say. You act as if your nation is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe instead of initiating wars, you should take a long hard look at your foreign policy, and why you have no allies. You act as if we should drop to our knees and bow before your nation as if it is some kind of god. Well we won't, we will not bend or break, we will stand our ground, to the last man, because we are the one's who are in the right. We have that on our side, you started this war, you probably though we would just bend to your will as so many others have, well I got news for you, your a bully, and the only way to beat a bully is to stand up to them, and that is exactly what we are doing. Now what are you going to do about it?
Aboard a small navy clipper, the dead man's body was loaded, and placed into a cool-storage unit. Behind the men carrying the body, was another man carrying a briefcase containing $100,000 (Francs) to be delivered. A white flag was flown atop the small ship to signal thier lack of hostilities, and they made for the city of Gif at 25 knots.
7:30 AM, July The Twenty Third
The massive fleet flying the Urcean Royal Colors, consisting of fourth battlegroup of the ninth Urcean fleet (minus carriers), steamed into Springfield Island waters. On the way in, it had passed a Royal Code fleet and had seen, in the distance, an even larger Stoklomolvi fleet. Recon had not been their purpose, however. They had come to liberate those remaining in Cripistan's colony and to expand New Urceopolis and the Urcean Empire as a whole.
The fleet closed in on this colony. The fleet's flagship, HIMS Caesaraugusta, a modernized Nero-class battleship, had lead the fleet all the way from Port De Gaulle off the coast of France. Now, it's gun crews trained its massive ''16 guns on the Cripistan colonial coast. The fleet who had smaller guns began plotting missile strike coordinates. Because of the lack of aircraft, the large guns ,considered "ancient" by naval designers but standard on ships of Urcean design anyway, were vital.
The fleet's targets were what were thought to be military guard posts and other things that troops and loyalists could use for a strategic advantage.
8:17 AM, July The Twenty Third
HIMS Caesaraugusta finally made its presence known as it roared to life on the Cripistan colonial coast. Fourteen rocket assisted ''16 shells headed towards the coast at blazing speed.
On the other hand, the missiles fired by the non-battleship fleet were quite easy to spot. They were seen all the way to the coast by Urcean air coordinators, who were usually meant for coordinating airplanes but now were coordinating missiles.
Off the coast of Springfield Island
The 9 navies were placed all around northern Springfield, and the entire area was constantly watched by several hundred destroyers. Meanwhile, the three Imperial Guardsmen who had wandered into the Royal Code territory started to head towards a nearby native hut. After a moment of staring, three natives popped out with picks and large clay jugs filled with water. The Imperial Guardsmen ran over and asked them where they were.
Kamenopolis,
NAC, Springfield Island
General Sioufas watched as the last of the Caronian fleet ships left the bay. The settlements were, for now, complete, and they were no longer needed. He turned and faced the "City", in reality a small town, of Kamenopolis. Trucks, civilian and military, were going up and down the road that stretched from Kamenopolis along the bay to the other three settlements and stopped at the northern border. He was proud of what his nation had done.
However, like his first day here, he had a fear in the back of his mind. He was afraid of what could happen with this war. Though he assumed the Caronian claims were well defended with 7500 soldiers, he knew this was mainly a naval war. He walked into the military base and called his superiors at home. "This is General Antonio Sioufas. I need you to send me a small fleet. Oh, about ten battleships and an aircraft carrier. Make it a point to get as close to the Island as you can without leaving international waters. Attack only if attacked first," he said into a satellite telephone. "Yes, General," someone said, then hung up.
"With air superiority being traded off every other second by these nations on this island, we're just gunna keep it passive, and fly only to Verdun from 2nd Fleet, and back. Nothing else." Admiral Nestor said to Pershing over the phone.
"I would agree. Last thing we need to start up are dogfights. Did you get that body delivered?"
"That we did, went without incident."
"Good," Pershing said, "one less issue to tackle."
"So i hear you've started a major road construction project?"
"We have indeed. Making good progress so far. We've equipped some of our tanks with plows for clearing land, and we've diverted our constructin equipmetn out of Verdun to lay the pavement. It's making good progress."
"That's good. Oh, before i forget, Chancellor Alexander called Fleet this morning, told me to tell you troop readiness is up to 30% and that at least 2 Air Combat Corps are ready to take to the air, if you call them."
"Fantastic. You can tell him about the road construction project, and that we haven't had any more shootouts on the boarder." Pershing stated.
"He'll be glad to hear it."
