The use of chemical weapons by Alfegos did not go unnoticed in the eyes of the Shahdom. The Parthian-provided military vehicles were NBC ready, able to operate in contaminated areas, but, the troops of the NMA needed support for the war effort on the Zaherani government.

The next convoy of transport aircraft landed, bringing in a combination of ammunition, chemical warfare gear, and 550 short range missiles loaded with VX gas. Once they were unloaded, each plane returned to Parthia.

Behind the Parthian airborne convoy, the Parthian transports arrived in port. 350 more IFVs, along with 250 MBTs, 55 guns, 1500 ballistic missiles, and much needed supplies of fuel, ammunition, and provisions. The supporting ships, meanwhile, prepared for their portion of the strike on Greal, who had unwisely decided to attack the NMA.

Above Zaheran, a Parthian satellite passed in orbit, rendering real time images of the country, and in it, the Grealite army. The images, and the coordinates of the Grealite army were sent to the arsenal ships stationed in port, and within seconds, they were to empty their massive missile loads, 1600 in all, at the location of the Grealite forces.

The sky exploded in light and flame, passing to smoke as nearly two thousand missiles shot from the launch tubes of the arsenal ships into the air, skimming upwards into the sky. Over their targets, they were to burst, each stand off missile setting 120 armor piercing partially guided bomblets right down on top of any Grealite vehicle, which would be clobbered by a hefty shape charge and blasted into oblivion. 192,000 anti-vehicle bomblets prepared for a complete annihilation of a military force.

Half the Greal army was wiped out, Greal satellites found the location from where the missiles came from, so thousands of Vernhule missiles were fired within seconds from the Greal naval fleet toward the arsenal ships. The other half og the Greal army, with wounded, retreated back to the city, and the wounded were put on the massive Greal fleet.

The first convoy made their delivery without any trouble. Now I'd like you guys to tell me where the people need the supplies most.

To Mokastana:

We have an upgraded version of the "Earthquake" bomb we sold to Alfregos. This upgraded version is a general missile, not a concentrated area one like the original one. It has enough explosive in its warhead ( 8000lbs) to destroy half a large city and enough to destroy a medium or small town. A medium city would be mostly destroyed and a small city would be totally ruined. There is also a missile that explodes above a target at around 5000 feet showering it in Napalm covering around 1 square mile. There is another version that explodes at 8000 feet and covers 1.5 square miles. This missile is called the "Lava Bomb" missile. We are currently working on one that explodes at 10,000 feet and covers 2 square miles.

The convoys left Wulfenstein and apart from people throwing rocks at them, there was no trouble. The convoys had to stop for fuel in a small town. Three officers jumped out of a tank, walked in to the town hall and demanded fuel, but by the looks of it they weren't exactly welcome...

"We will choose the emperor and appoint the government. All bills must be presented to the parliament, where they choose whether to accept or reject it. It is semi-democracy, but you must agree that´s better than nothing. Trade is no problem and no customs will be introduced against alfegian goods. The exception is arms trade, where another country has monopoly for five years. All corporations willing to help in the rebuilding process will be paid fairly generous".

The town officials weren´t especially happy having these foreigners there, demanding fuel. But orders had been issued from the NMA HQ and they had no choice but giving them the fuel.

How about 100,000 a missile? That is pretty reasonable. There will be a contract as well thrown in so you can get every 6 months another 500 "Earthquake" bombs and 500 "Lava" bombs. We will also throw in an new Radar Guiding System that controls the flight of the missiles.

How about we tell them to give us this town hall as a base of operations?" one of the officers suggested while walking back to their convoys where their men were busy warding off angry citizens. "What's going on here?", the same officer shouted above all the noise. "Sir, these people just tried to light one of the trucks on fire! Let us kill them!" was the answer. "Nah. Use your rubber bullets and tear gas. We'll be crossing this town off of our supply list. In the meanwhile have someone go to the town hall and tell that we'll be taking it as a base of operations."

The town officials had no choice but giving the pro puritanians the town hall. Swearing and muttering they took their stuff and went to a motel, which would now be used as a town hall.

The president was sitting in his room in the bunker. The floor in the little room was full of empty wine bottles. The president no longer was the powerful and optimistic man he had been just a few months ago, a man well suited to save his people. His powerful voice had become silent, his burning eyes had dulled, his optimism had been replaced by depression. All his dreams had been crushed. His people had failed him and joined his enemies. He corrected himself. He had failed his people. He had nothing left to live for. The power, the glory, the love and respect of the people. All was gone. He stared at the gun at the table before him. He emptied the bottle in his hand and took the pistol. He placed it in his mouth. The metal was cold and hard. He stared at the picture of his wife hanging on the wall. She was dead since many years, and now he would join her. The thought gave him some peace as he pulled the trigger.

- 'Of-course you showed up too late to stop him.'

The Zaheranian special forces officer, managed to looked both troubled and indifferent at the same time, as he gave his report to the Advisor.

- 'Yes sir! It took us a while to hunt him down, apparently the latest occurences in the country were to much for the man. It is my belief that he was afraid of what would happen to him if found, and how history would remember him.'

- 'Commendable. Search his hideaway. He must have left a letter or political will.'

With a "Sir!" the officer left leaving the high ranking advisors alone.

- 'Well?'
- 'We wait. We have to find something that will prove that our pay-masters had nothing to do with this.'
- 'We could get some specialists to examine the body, they'll probably confirm that it was suicide.'
- 'I'll bring it up when I meet the Zaheran officers after their meeting with the Alfegians. I was soppused to discuss their plans for the military doctrines to get these arms contracts going.'

The bunker complex had now been completely taken: all that was left now was for the remaining WLA forces, still in the minefield, to be removed quickly.

The armour rumbled around the side, while the Mech. Infantry crossed staright through the contaminated land, each vehicle sealed from the gas.

Once through, they stopped, letting the AMCL devices clear the field in fornt of them: each fired a explosive rope a mile long that then detonated along its length, clearing an area of 20 metres around it of mines.

The mech infantry moved onwards, beggining to engage the WLA forces trapped by the closing pincer of the armour.

Soon, the WLA would surrender. If they were clever.

50,000 WLA soldiers charged the infantry, shooting to they were out of ammunition and then attacking the alfegians with bayonets, knives or using the assault rifles as blunt weapons.

The soldiers almost smiled at the remnants of a once glorious army reduced to charging at them with nothing more than blunt weapons.

As the men came charging at them, the IFVs opened fire with 7.62 machine guns, cutting down any soldiers charging at them.

The few that got through were soon killed with the bayonets mounted on the guns of the squad members, or by their own assault rifles.

At the end of the day, 45,000 bodies covered the battlefield. The only WLA soldiers taken prisoners were the men so gravely wounded that they couldn´t fight anymore. Still, many tried to kill any alfegian getting close, often by pulling up and firing a hidden weapon.

The few prisoners were taken quickly by plane to the holding centre on the patch of land that Alfegos now claimed: Ni'Ilo

The place was lit up by the many hundreds of infantry now stationed there: moved from Zaheran, pending transport back home.

The prisoners were each recorded, before being put into crowded metal/plastic huts that had been erected quickly.

Around the camp was a double electric fence, that would stop any escapees, or revolt. Already there were prisoners here from the former AHC.

The prisoners would be kept here until they were deemed by the NMA to be worthy of deportation back to Zaheran.

The thousands of bodies were buried in rows, each one able to be named quickly remembered on a wooden plank put above the body. They ahd decency, and each beared the epitaph: "A soldier of Zaheran".

The NMA oculd take care of it once the burials had finished, providing marble headstones for rememberance forever.

The Bijari Corporation's backers are rather concerned foreigners might pressure your group into accepting their terms as preconditions for your control of Zaheran. For the coming elections the NMA created the Zaheranian National Party, ZNP. The ruling liberal party divided in two: the Liberal Democrats Party, LDP, and the more conservative General Electoral Party, GEP.
ZNP- Nationalistic.
LDP- Liberal.
GEP- Liberal Conservative.
Wilhelm Kohl was appointed as party leader for ZNP, Ferdinand Moltke was appointed party leader for LDP and Carl von Kier was appointed party leader for GEP. In an agreement between the parties, it was decided that every citizen over 20 had the right to vote. A election commission was set up with a equal number of members from each party. Foreign supervisors were invited to control the election.

The Alfegos captain mopped his brow, as a lieutenat came in.

The Colstream government congratulates the government for setting up these elections so quickly after the war. I hope that the party who wins creates a stable government. The Colstream People wishes the parties good luck and eagerly await the results.

Alsdarian observers were sent to overview the legality of the elections, as well as begin negotiations for the establising of an embassy and the opening of delivering arms for the Zaheran military.
The military advisors were hard at work prepering the Zaheran military and police force to ensure no "incidents" occuring during the elections.

In the countryside, only 50km from the convoys' destination the convoys had been stopped by local villagers. The officers lost their patience and gave the order to kill them all. After 5 minutes it was all over. The bodies were piled up and set on fire. The convoy moved on.

OOC: Could you RP some news report on this incident?

The Alfegos presence was soon out of Zaheran. The regiments were withdrawn back to the mainland, and only a single company was now statione don the claimed territory: christened Neo'Ilos.

The other 1500 men stationed there were mostly for the airforce, but now were being replaced by civilains, setting up new villages around the island to exploit the resources. In the central hills, for example, it was suspected there were deposits of tungsten and titanium ore.

For now, they were just small civilan communities, who would soon grow and strip the island of resources.

As you can see, there are tracks of vehicles in the ground. Unconfirmed rumours say that a convoy of foreign trucks were seen in the area. Experts is now investigating the crime scene searching for clues to what might have happened. This is Carl Schroder reporting from Orchana".

In all cities and villages in Zaheran, commissioners from the Election Commission set up polling stations. The political parties had begun their election campaign and nearly every wall in the cities was covered with posters. The elections would begin in three days.

The gold consul-class aircruiser floated elegantly over the island, using a battery of cameras to photograph everything.

Tehn, once gone, the builders came to the central hills. Most were there to start up large open-cast mines. Some however were there to claim the empty bunkers and "upgrade" them.

In from the continetal Alfegos was a ship. It had a payload of 20 SRBMs, each with a nuclear MIRV warhead.

These were to be set up secretly, then revealed to remind the NMA to keep itself in check.

The convoys arrived in Senran early in the morning. Dozens of supply tents were set up throughout the city, each guarded by 15 men from the Emperor's personal guard. The supplies were afterall property of the Emperor and would not be handed over to those who didn't actually need them. Colonel Schröder took over the local radio station and sent a message to the citizens telling them that they could come and get their foodstuffs and medical supplies as long as they could prove that they needed them. Schröder knew that the day wouldn't be without trouble... As for the massacre in Orchana, he stated that it was unfortunate but had to be done in order to get the supplies through...

The missiles were now installed, along with many other security measures more visable: a small battery of LY472 AA missile launchers, and a patriot battery.

Nearby, a massive stripmine had opened up, and tons of spoil were being transported to massive dumps, the raw ore processed quickly on site before being sent by a Maglev link to the 4 towns, where it was being processed before shipped out.

The voting day was here. Millions of citizens filled the voting stations. Fifty thousand soldiers guarded the stations against terrorist attacks. When darkness fell and the stations closed the ZNP was leading with 57% against 30% for GEP and 13% for LDP, with 60% of the votes counted. It looked like the ZNP would have a landslide victory.

The citizens of Senran flocked around the puritanians. They didn´t care about some farmers in Orchana, not when there was food around.

Representatives from Montana Industries began work on the Mokan "humane" Army base, trucks and supplies were moving out to the local areas providing food and tents to the general public. Many trucks had the red star of Mokastana on the side. However a few had the MI symbol of Montana Industries, those often carried products that the only a few rich Mokan Generals knew about. The Brotherhood and Cartel would be getting their coke all right, along with other drugs, some from far away lands, guns, passports, forge documents and if they wanted: blank votes.

After all votes had been counted, and recounted, the result was ready. The ZNP had won with 58%, the GEP had 29% and the LDP had 13%. All parts accepted the result. The NMA appointed the government, which then declared the organization disbanded. Dieter Antonn was chosen emperor, under the name Dieter Antonius I. Lucifer Teufel was appointed minister of defence and Marius Stee was appointed minister of foreign affairs. Other generals and admirals were appointed to the lesser positions. Zahran once again was declared as the capital.

The new emperor was crowned in his new capital. The ceremony was held in the old Royal Palace, now restored to it´s former glory. The emperor was dressed in dark purple robes, the ancient zaheranian symbol of wealth. In his right hand he held a silver sword, a symbol of power and strength. In his left hand he held a golden sceptre, a symbol of wisdom and duty. The minister of defence and the minister of foreign affairs, here representing power and strength respectively wisdom and duty, led a seven-year old girl, representing the people, towards the emperor. In her hands she held a silver crown, decorated with sapphires and a two-headed silver eagle at the front. The two-headed eagle, the aquila, was the symbol of Zaheran. The emperor kneeled and the girl placed the crown on his head. The applauds were deafening. The emperor raised. He walked to a small balcony to his left. Tens of thousands of people stood outside the palace, and millions were watching it on television. The new emperor raised his hands. "The war is over!", he shouted through the prepared microphone. "It is over! Now it is peace!". Everyone shouted and applauded. "Now we are whole again!". More applauds. He smiled. He loved this. "The parliament will be inaugurated tomorrow. No more anarchy, now it is peace!" The crowd cheered and danced on the streets. The country was whole again.

The Pro Puritanian Emperor, Julius Heide, wasn't pleased about the situation in Zaheran. If the war had continued he would have had more time to pursue his own interests in the area. He wouldn't go as far as declaring war, but ordered Marshal Hinka to continue occupying Wulfenstein and the surrounding area. It was an easy task as only 500,000 soldiers had been sent back home which left the imperial forces with an acceptable force of 1,5 million men. The convoys had distributet the supplies and returned to Wulfenstein. By the looks of it, the imperial army wasn't going anywhere for a while.

It is the Emperor's demand that my troops stay in the area. The area will be occupied for an unset amount of time. I assure you that civilians will not be harmed as long as they obey our laws. Should my troops come under attack, the retaliation will be swift and decisive.

Please excuse Hinka's behaviour. He is a little... over-zealous, should I say. Regarding the occupation, the troops will be withdrawed on one condition: you allow my armies to set up air and naval bases in your country. Each will be 10,000 infantry + necessary personell and equipment strong.

Alfegos regarded the situation. Zaheran, it knew, was being slowly drained by the PPP bases that it wanted to build. It would have to stay as a mediator, to stop any more fighting.

I was searching for another thread with "zaheran" as a keyword. The search system pulls up all threads from the beginning of NS in searches, and this was at the bottom of the list. Curiously, I looked at the very end of it, and seeing that it was a "dead" thread from not being posted on for so long, I figured that I would raise the preceding question.
