THERE WEREN’T MANY F-117's to drop bombs, but the B-2's had gotten through quite well. More bombs hit Neo Savannah. More fighters swarmed the B-2's before they could get out their whole load. The great bombers would fall into the ground. They used any tactic they could, even machine guns. The second wave of the Maldorian attack killed an additional 500,000 civilians; they almost completely missed the military bases, this one only costing 300,000 dollars in equipment.

"So, those f***ers still wanna mess?" The F-117's had been completely wiped out as well as the F-22's. The MTA-F01 Whisper's however, were unscathed. Missiles flew from the now-engaging Maldorian aircraft at the distracted enemy fighters, which were now picking off the B-2's. With the enemy fighters busy, the B-3 Nightriders, now giving off jamming signals, could continue the harrassment. Their bombload of 45,000 lbs. would soon be dropped straight into whatever looked important...

OOC: Basically, the F-117's and F-22's are done. Your fighters are hitting my B-2's. My MTA-F01's come to 'ambush' your fighters. My main bombers are bombing. A bit diversion...

OOC: TRBI, there's no such thing as a perfect defence and be assured that I am indeed aware of the SSTD system. Plus you RPed no defence against my missile attack.

Aleosite 3rd Fleet.

Nothing changed with the fleet once reports from the Echoese Capital arrived. There was the same state of alert, the same tension lingering in the air, but other than a few hasty orders, things stayed the same.

The general consensus among the fleet commanders was that the Battle of the Echo, as the engagement in the skies of CFEI was named, was a waste. In the Aleosite mindset, wasting human lives when there were better targets was nothing but a step backwards from victory.

You do not make your enemy stronger by asking him to avenge a child, a parent or a sibling. You sap at his will to fight, yes, but never make him to believe that there’s nothing to be lost. Such an enemy was often foolish, easy to deceive and destroy, but sometimes the unpredictability factor proved to be quite a hassle.

This is why the Aleosite leaders could only watch in amazement at these actions and at the reactions coming from various representatives of the nations waging this war. It was no concern of Aleos how the CFEI treated its assets, but if they decided to pull out of the war then that would be indeed problematic.

They could only wait to see what the attempts at peace will bring. In the meantime, they had no intention in staying idle. The reconnaissance photos so generously provided by the now increasing satellites presence over the combat area showed clear images of various objectives and analysts were already working around the clock to develop viable attack scenarios, adding proper modifications to the already existing plans.

Given the current situation, there was doubt that those plans will be even used, but the fleet had to be prepared for every eventuality. It would not do to be caught unprepared. As for the admiral in charge of the operation, he was watching intently an operational map and listening to a report

“As planned, our Liberty 2 ships continue their route towards the Stevidian Task Force. We expect them to make contact in twelve hours and thirty-seven minutes. Should I relay further orders to them sir?”

“No, they’re to continue on their set mission. That should do for now,” the admiral replied, “Now regarding Operation Veil…”

======

Liberty 2 Fleet.

Hundreds, if not thousands of miles away, the Liberty fleet continued its set course, drawing closer and closer to the Stevidian force. Nobody on board the ships knew of the Stevidian submarines, but several of them suspected their presence. It mattered little, with or without Stevidian reconnaissance missions taking place around them, they would continue their set path.

The ships were quite amazing in their simplicity. Built after a modular design, you could never guess what was in the belly of these sea travellers and the Aleosites knew that all too well. From hidden weapons compartments to whole nurseries, you were sure to find one aboard the Liberty 2 ships in the Aleosite Fleet, however, not all modules were present on this fleet.

Truth be told, some of the ships in this class were recorded as having carried attack submarines in their belly, but this was not knowledge that the government liked to share.

======

Naval Battle. Neo Savanah

But there is no thing as a perfect defence. Even though many of the torpedoes got lost in the defensive layers of the Stingray some of them made it though, still heading towards the ships they were intended for.

To add salt to the injury, the missiles launched by the submarines had been ignored as they drew closer and closer to the Ryou Fleet.

======

Operation Veil.

Aleosite Submarines scattered in international waters near TRBI.

Following the orders given to them before hand, the submarines positioned themselves for attack. The target was what the enemy would have identified as the Rigley Air Force Base. As they did until now, the Alesites took all the measures of precaution needed to avoid links being made between them and the attack. It would be hard indeed to pinpoint a nation that wasn’t even officially involved in this war for actions taken on the battlefield.

Then, as if someone had given them a signal, the submarines started their chant of destruction. Missiles started pouring out of them, all heading towards the Rigley Air Force Base. The irony of it all was that these missiles employed a very similar system to that used recently by the Maldorians. It was however doubtful that the Aleosites or Maldorians would ever be aware of this.

And so, the missiles sped towards their targets…

IC:

Rigley Air Force Base

The base had been relatively empty. The mainstray of the Maldorian air force in the region had begun an offensive against The Far Echo Islands and patrols were scouting around The Ryou Black Islands. A few engineers and pilots, without orders, were hanging at the airfield. Suddenly, the airfield's sirens went off. The lazy men soon got up, figuring out what was going on. Patriot missile systems soon fired at the oncoming targets. For all they knew, they could be aircraft. If those missiles were to hit, the damage would be minimal....

Yes, Aleos, the peace treaty has been signed by most of the involved nations, and we're really only waiting on CFEI. So, if you will, stop the attack.

Thank you for helping out my ally, the CFEI, and I hope to make you an ally as well.

[Part I]

Peace, it is a Providence.
A partly fictional analysis of the Bloody Sunday War by Delpin Hyit.

Greater and greater losses, bleakness, blackness, so many tears shed, lives lost, histories erased, stories left untold. How many people received ominous phone calls about the attack, confirming the death of a relative? How many cried at that news cast? At the next day's paper? How much blood spilt in those small hours, what then, of a great city under siege? Wherefore, a political war?

Those lines would be come some of the most famous in the history of the Confederate States. They would later be the choice to be engraved in the marble of the Bloody Sunday War Memorial, and they were the start to one of the greatest novels in the Far Echo Islands. The whole novel read over 1200 pages, and Delpin still claimed it to be incomplete. The Neo Savannah attack changed Delpin's style of writing slightly, as did his first venture in to non poetic fiction. The novel is said to be a great account of the war, and the first paragraph is often cited and quoted at many places.

[Part II]

There was no stopping the Maldorian bombers, the air raid sirens sung a never ending song. The third Maldorian attack cost an additional 200,000 lives, and had a better military aim, though civilian casualties were also high.

[Part III]

Torpedo defenses had not been overlooked on Adelie class battleships. They towed a noise emitting torpedo defense system that was quite effective. A single Ryoun torpedo got through, and while it did damage an Adelie class, it did not manage to sink the ship. The Adelie responed with another barrage of missiles. And now submarines that had been patrolling the port moved toward the situation, and some 150 torpedoes were launched at the Royun fleet.

OOC: So the Ryou ships are impervious to damage? Amazing to see that with everything thrown at them some still managed to get away. I'm not even going to bother complaining about the 'vanishing' missiles and torpedoes I launched at them.

I'll add an IC response to the issues presented here a bit later. It will be a wrap-up of my involvement in this war most likely, even though I had other plans . Not worth it.

Anyway, Kirav, mutual interests are to blame for my actions here. Given CFEI actions I might or might not be encountered on the same side as him in a war, but chances are I'm going to take a similar position to the one I have here.

I'll just RP my attack on Maldorians and any possible response to Stevid and that will be it. I just need to find time for an IC reply.

OOC: Hope you don’t mind a bit of fluid time in this post, it speeds things up which would otherwise be slowed by time differences and minor details.

Royal Navy Task Force 24, International Waters, 140 NM from Ryou

An arduous journey for the Navy to make, for any Navy but especially for the Stevidian Royal Navy. Sailors both young and old were looking forward to some well earned shore leave back home after the War of Golden Succession but instead had been thrown into a fray that ultimately concerned Stevid very little but alas they were there and no matter their personal opinions on why they were fighting, they were to fight anyway.

The flagship of the fleet, the Inquisition Class HMS Purge, was at the head of the fleet flanked by two DDG vessels with the carriers and the rest of the fleet following behind performing AA and ASW procedures. The Defiler Class command cruiser monitored the seas around them well beyond the horizon and was this fleet’s ace in the hole over surprise attacks. She could detect stealth aircraft and coordinate massive missile attacks or defences in little under two minutes. It was this ship that would probably win the war for Stevid, it could be won without her of course but things would be far easier with it. Her name was now famous, the HMS Qatar was a veteran of all three huge wars Stevid had fought recently and had made a name for herself by saving millions of lives thanks to her superb electronics.

The new jewels of the fleet were the two brand new super carriers and of course the Lemartes Class DDGs, one of the best destroyers to grace the seas of the world. It would be their first taste of combat and it would be a first time for many of the crew members too but despite the inexperience of the crew, the ships’ performances would hopefully see them through combat.

Satellite coverage was sketchy at this time and so 100% coverage was not guaranteed at this time and so the Defiler Class had to make do. Despite the poor coverage results were surprisingly excellent with images showing clearly the movement of hostile sea forces belonging to Aleos’ 3rd Fleet, it didn’t look all that dangerous but then again Stevidian radar controls had gotten used to see well over three thousand blips on their screen representing ships. The Aleos fleet was nothing more than a grape on a gigantic vine and it would be interesting to see how the two fleets compare when they engaged each other in combat. Stevidian technology, shipping and aircraft were superior and well proven in combat but had never come up against this nation before, a country that was well adapted to these seas and skies and had combat experience in this theatre whereas Stevid was fumbling around in the dark.

Hours past and word came through that the Aleos fleet posed no direct threat to the fleet at the present time but what did keep the fleet on its toes was the appearance of a small flotilla with ships that were not recognised in the Qatar’s naval database, the ships had never been encountered before so they were assumed hostile for the most part but the fleet maintained Condition Yellow. What surprised the Admiral of the fleet most was that the Qatar received an encoded message from the approaching fleet, it was heavily encrypted and even the several vast supercomputers on the Qatar couldn’t decode it straight away and the operators waited nearly twenty minutes for the message to make any sense. What it said shocked all that read it and especially shocked Admiral.

It asked if a meeting between the Royal Navy fleet commander, Vice Admiral Phil La Marsh, and a military commander belonging to Aleos would be possible. This was an immediate surprise seeing as open hostility between the two sides was about to break despite a peace treaty being signed by participants, but conflict should only be used as long as all other opportunities have been exhausted. The Qatar replied to the small fleet, which many now guessed belonged to the Aleos Navy, saying that it was indeed possible for the two commanders to meet.

All the while, the Qatar had hooked up to the Stevidian MI6 intelligence database and sifted through the terabytes of data on world wide foreign naval vessel, civilian and military, and found out that the vessels approaching were Liberty 2 Class ships of which one had an Aleosian diplomat onboard. Preparations were made at once to airlift the Aleosian commander to the Inquisition Class dreadnought HMS Purge. It would be the first foreigner to set foot on this revolutionary ship and would be lucky enough to walk inside its blessed hull to meet the fleet commander and discuss whatever it was that the Aleosians wanted to talk about .

Several hours later when the fleets finally made full visual contact a King Arthur ASW/Transport helicopter collected the Aleosian ‘diplomat’, the guise alias agreed upon by both sides in the highly unlikely (if not impossible) event that the encrypted messages were ever decoded, for the meeting in the briefing room onboard the Purge. After the brief introductions between the Aleosian party and members of the senior staff on the Purge had finished, the commander was escorted to the briefing room where the Vice Admiral Marsh was waiting. The room, once reached by the Aleosian party, was a finely decorated room with a fine oak finish to the oval table, the floor and the walls. Atop the floor was a lovely velvet carpet that had been maintained to perfection; the table had small LCD screens embedded in front of the chairs dotted around the table; finally in the far corner was a glass cabinet filled with the finest unblended Scotch Whiskey money could by and standing by it was Vice Admiral Marsh with a single malt in one hand. He smiled as the Aleosians walked in and he placed his drink on the table, he saluted and waited as the Aleosian commander saluted in reply before shaking hands and retrieving his drink.

“Good evening commander. My name is Vice Admiral Phil La Marsh of the Royal Navy’s 24th Task Force or as I like to call it, Battle Group. Erm… before we get to the business that has left me and the senior staff so perplexed, would you like a drink? We only have Scotch and water I’m afraid but I assure you it’s the best we can get our hands on sir.”

Fordockian troops had not given up. They would not leave and they would change the Ryou Black Islands. The President made an enycrypted address over a secure connections for the men to hear.

"Fellow Citizens of the Principality of Fordock war was thrust upon us. We had to defend an innocent nation from these barbarians as has clearly been witnessed by their cowardly targeting of troops that could not fight back. They have used WMD's against civilian populations. They are undoubtedly barbarians.

Now people want peace. I would say fine and would be glad to make peace. What are the terms though? The terms state that WE HAVE TO PAY MONEY. THAT WE HAVE TO PAY MONEY. HOW is this just? 'twas it not the Ryou who started the war? 'Twas it not the Ryou who used WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION?! ARE YOU TO STAND FOR THIS? NEVER. We the people of Fordock will not.

So what are we to do? We will continue to fight. More lives may be lost but it would be an INSULT to the lives already lost to not push onward. Orders will come down for you to move out. Already I have been informed an armored legion and another infantry legion have arrived nearby. With these we will take the Ryou down. We will insure a proper system is in place.

So I ask you all now to go forth and do what need be done. We are Fordockians we have pride and we will continue our proud traditions. So men ONWARD AND FORWARD!"

The men let out a rousing cheer as the Presidents speech concluded. They then received orders passed along by paper.

They read

All units are ordered to board the transports tonight under cover of darkness. Fires are to be lit for all and are to stay lit. The Transports will take you to your destination. From there you will recive new orders on where to go.

The Navy crews though received these

You are to prepare to let all men board your ships. You are to act as silent as possible and maintain radio silence. Once all men are accounted for you are to sail to the Island chain south of Shai. You will offload the armored Legion first and then the remaining infantry legions. After you have finished you are to return to Neo Savanah and claim none of this happened and you have no idea where the troops are.

All of this was of course encrypted to the highest levels.

The Ryous were getting ready for the war with Fordock, since The Fordockians had Rejected the Peace, the Ryous would continue the war till Fordock Gave in to peace as the Treaty said.

The Ryous had started a Draft to enlarge the People's Army to over one million or three Million if needed. Weapons Factories were being built while The Ryou started buying weapons for the fight.

The People declared surport for the Maoist Government and declared that they would fight The enemy to the death. This was what The Ryou wanted and they would protect their land and homes from the evil Fordockians.

The Ryous were also starting to work on a Nuclear Weapon to help Defened The Islands.

As dawn broke, the Kiravians were already at work. Peace would be celebrated, but not now. The dead were recorded and buried outside of the city, their friends and comrades held small, private ceremonies for the valiant Imperial soldiers. In a field outside Neo-Savanna, there were 200 or so crosses and tombstones, all engraved in the native Coscivian sub-language of the man whose earthly container lay below it. In the middle stood the white granite edifice, implanted with Larimar.[Larimar is a RL newly discovered, blue-green, opaque gemstone whose energy channels are beleived to create a spiritual link to dolphins. No joke. Dead Serious.]
This was a memorial to all the dolphins, whales and other races that were massacred by the Ryouans.

The Kiravian ships were mostly unharmed, save for a gunship and several smaller craft that had been felled. They were nto preparing to leave anytime soon though. Neo-Savvanah and its fortifications would need to be repaired, and there was other labour for these Kiravians to prefourm.

Back in Kartika, the flags of the Empire, the CFEI, and the other allies were waved by the street demostrators. But on his way to work, Fyren Redwood saw black banners draped over a house, and one over the entrance to the Senate. He had much work for himself as well. Relations with the RBI and Maldorians would need to be re-evaluated, Officer Orcus would need to be debriefed, and deals with the CFEI would need to be worked out.

He wasn't the only Imperial official busy today, as we shall see:

OOC: Oh, I hadn't seen that part in the treaty thread. It seemed he was reacting to this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13060947&postcount=269) post, which was more SIC than open IC.

The War with Far echo was over, but The war against The Evil Fordockians was begining.

Bolded the "HELL NAW" Points.

First, your nation wont be able to support such a big army, not to mention weapon factories (copy pasted from Wiki and claimed as yours, I might add).

Second, if you dare use a nuke on Fordrock, I'll make sure your nation is blasted into oblivion and any survivors sent to British Londinium for a "special treatment".

OOC: Once again with the OOC stuff. Hate it.

I'm reserving this for a full IC post later on. It will contain relevant stuff for my attack and a reply to Stevid.

Folks, calm down a bit.

And TRBI, use a nuke and there will be only glass left out of your nation. I don't see the need for that here, you and Fordrock are almost on equal footing, if not with a slight advantage on your part.

That being said I apologize for not being able to post an IC reply, again.

BTW, Fordrock check your TGs.

OOC: Maldorians, Planes need fuel, weapons and maintenance to operate.

Liberty 2 Class Ship. The Elysium.

Like all Liberty 2 ships, the Elysium was built using a modular design and as a result able to adapt in order to fulfil a great number of missions. Usually this ship was suited for retrieval missions, but this day there was an entirely different set of modules equipped on it.

Instead of the usual maintenance and cargo dedicated space, the ship now housed a lavishly decorated reception room, if you can call it like that seeing that its size was way beyond that of a normal apartment, and various other attachments. In short, were it not for the rugged outside aspect, many would have assumed they were seeing a luxury ship and not a Liberty 2 class.

Inside this dream like setting, one man was waiting. Obviously a high ranking officer by the way the others treated him, he was waiting patiently for something. All of a sudden he started talking.

“By now it is safe to assume that we have made contact with the Stevidian fleet,” were his words. Familiar with the tactics of war, he was aware that no self respecting fleet would allow unknown ships in a certain perimeter without checking them out.

Hours later, he finally spoke again, a slight sense of urgency in his voice making itself apparent, “Deliver the message.”

It was unexpected, but although the intention of the Aleosites had been different in regards to the Stevidian fleet, the fact that they were prepared for a multitude of alternatives proved to be handy in this situation. Orders from the High Commander changed the set scenario and they adapted, nothing new for them.

As a result, an encrypted message was sent to the fleet sailing miles before them. It was heavily encrypted by most standards, but the Aleosites meant for it to be decrypted. By using patterns specific to the Stevidians they ensured that it would be only them that found out the true meaning of the message. In addition. In addition there were other security measures taken.

As expected, the Stevidians didn’t disappoint and replied quickly. What followed was simple. Although the Aleosites had prepared a special Liberty 2 ship for the occasion, as luxury was not something they usually indulged themselves in, they accepted, as a gesture of good will, to be the ones visiting.

Soon a King Arthur ASW/Transport helicopter collected the Aleosite ‘diplomat’ and delivered him to the HMS Purge to encounter the man in charge of the Stevidian operation. Finally he was greeted by Vice Admiral Phil La Marsh.

“Good evening Vice Admiral, I am D’Argo Sun, vice admiral of the Aleosite fleet and second in command of the Aleosite 3rd flee… no I believe a bit of honesty is in order here, second in command of the Aleosite Grand Fleet. I’ll take glass of whiskey if you don’t mind,” he replied before pulling up a dossier and handing it to the Stevidian officer, “As you can see there, we believe that we share a common goal.”

======

Rigley Air Force Base

The base, as the Aleos analysts predicted, devoid of most planes, but that wasn’t the goal of this strike anyway. The true reason behind this strike was simple, the destruction of the logistic support behind the Maldorians presence, fuel, missile crates and support personnel.

As the Patriots entered range, the attacking missiles activated their jamming devices. As a result, the Patriot radars had the same fate as the CFEI radars a few moments prior to this event. This, added to the questionable performance of the Patriots in engaging missiles lead to most of them missing their targets, leaving the missiles to continue their paths towards the base, just seconds away from impact.

It could be TLAMs if he wanted, type doesn't matter because they will all produce the same effect, and I think he said 2 or 3 hundred were being launched at the airfield from subs to avoid detection thus giving him the element of suprise.

HMS Purge, Conference Room

D’Argo Sun asked for scotch and La Marsh responded by pouring him a Glenmorangie and handed him a double which he Aleosian seemed to enjoy it. La Marsh skimmed through the one page summary on the whole document that was several pages long and it was on something that surprised him further, he smiled because ironically he felt the same way as the Aleosians did on the subject.

“So it seems we have a common interest sir, well at least me and your government anyway, we don’t particularly like the methods of war employed by the Maldorians either. The killing, the maiming, the jeopardising of peace and even provoking the Fordockians to leave the talks- I can safely assure you that my government agrees, I have orders to keep well away from Mal fighting units as much as possible to prevent accusations of war crimes and the like.”

He sipped his scotch and offered a seat to Admiral D’Argo Sun, whether La Marsh believed Sun was second in command of an Aleosian fleet was irrelevant what was relevant was that the two sides were talking. Aleosian forces were really supposed to be here, they had no official business here around Ryou and although their government had openly opposed Ryou military actions but hadn’t moved in military units to engage their enemy in straight forward combat. La Marsh read over the proposals suggested by the Aleosians almost with delight.

“A conspiracy at the deepest levels? I’ll have to inform my superiors back home but I can’t see them turning down this opportunity. Mal is becoming a problem, peace was inches away and then Fordock walks out and now war seems inevitable once again and you want to arrange a way to get at Mal?”

The Aleosian concurred and filled in La Marsh with the details on what the possible courses of action there were including some that, while tickling La Marsh’s fancy, meant a bit of backstabbing on a nation Stevid was technically fighting side-by-side with. However current events had force Fordock to reconsider its position in the face of renewed combat and so, just like the cold war, friends could easily become enemies especially when goals of independent nations differ at the utmost extremes.

“You’ll strike first then, the supply base? Whereas we do something rather grotesque but produces better results, slaughter of ‘friendly’ civilians with Maldorians defined as the perpetrators? Sounds good and I’m sure my superiors back home in Stevid will agree. Whether incriminating Mal is the most efficient way to proceed may be questioned- it undoubtedly will succeed the most. I’ll be honest with you sir I do not like my allies in this war bar Kurona and Ryou but the Maldorians have caused an awful lot of trouble recently and I personally do not want Stevid to be put into bad light. Siding with a less than liked nation of Ryou and then adopting them into the Empire brought my Government a lot of national and international criticism, with Mal throwing its weight around and generally being erratic… well, Stevid could lose a lot of friends.”

He was distressed and whether Admiral D’Argo Sun noticed La Marsh in obvious personal crisis or not needn’t matter. Admirals never rose to their position by buying their commission these days, doing a fantastic job and love for their country was the driving force to get them elevated to such positions. Stevid was under no real threat, the Un recently marked Stevid has having the 274th largest military in the entire world and could easily fight any war thrown at it and in all probability win it, but the political foundations of the Holy Empire had been rocked recently. Controversial decisions being made left right and centre had made Stevid plenty of enemies recently particular among those who wanted to see the state of Ryou utterly destroyed. The strain and pressure of the job La Marsh had was beginning to show, out of the three massive wars Stevid had been involved with recently, he had been involved fully in two. He had seen friendship being broken and born with the space of two horrid years and yet again he was going through a crisis with his country. Crisis that could never physically harm Stevid but could put them on the map as a supporter of relatively evil countries.

“Fuck it… Grand Admiral D’Argo Sun of Aleos, you have the Holy Empire’s full support. Here’s to the birth of a new friendship.” He raised his glass with D’Argo and downed his double scotch in one.

HMS Purge, Conference Room

While La Marsh handed him the whisky, D’Argo carefully studied the face of the Stevidian officer. There was interest in those eyes and that was good enough for now. Taking a slow sip out of the drink, he couldn’t help but appreciate the quality of the liquid.

Although it was not often for Aleosites to indulge themselves with the pleasures of alcohol, he was also expected to act like a diplomat, despite his position in the military, which meant that a keen knowledge of alcohol was needed. Most ignored this little detail, but often, the quality of the drinks you were served with offered insight in what you were to expect from a negotiation. So far, the Stevidian scotch was just as he liked it.

As La Marsh as he skimmed through the summary, D’Argo patiently waited until a smile appeared on the schooled face of his conversation partner. It seemed that their assumptions were correct. The Stevidians were not happy with what was happening.

“Indeed, it is an awful waste of human lives and assets, one that has no justification given the fact that peace talks were taking place at the exactly same moment. Peace or no peace, they are a dangerous element to have.”

Seating down, D’Argo took another sip of scotch, for some reason the drink was getting better by the minute. He noted the increasing enthusiasm on La Marsh’s face as he read through the proposals he had just forwarded him and couldn’t help a small smile from etching on his face. Things were looking good and given his position, things would be moving fast once they would reach an agreement. So far, the Aleosites had kept ‘neutral’ in the war, providing only covert support to CFEI and allies, an excellent stance to be had for the progression of these negotiations.

“That would be it,” the Aleosite answered La Marsh’s conspiracy inquiry, “In the long term, it would benefit us both.”

The ‘diplomat’ then started explaining exactly what options they had taken into account regarding this issue before finally explaining why they have settled on this one.

“Minimum effort on our part, by the time they’ll realize what’s happening it will already be too late. Fast and clean while placing both our nations in a favourable light.”

This was a gamble and D’Argo knew it, he could see La Marsh thinking over the proposal and trying to find out the best solution. Keeping his calm on the outside, he waited, hiding his own inner turmoil. Much depended on this decision, for both the Aleosites and the Holy Empire, and for many others involved. When he finally reached the edge of his patience, La Marsh finally voiced his decision. The answer was everything D’Argo waited for.

“To the birth of a new friendship!” D’Argo raised his own glass in reply and downed the scotch. After he finished drinking the liquid, he started talking again, “We are making sure that the Madorians base in TRBI will be destroyed, the next step is up to you. We will relay all available information on Maldorian forces.”

Imperial Decree- The Ryou Black Islands and Imperial Foreign Policy

By official order by the leading Imperial state of Stevid, that chairs authority over the Holy Empire, hereby decrees that a peacekeeping force is to be immediately assembled and sent to The Ryou Black Islands to maintain Imperial dominance, control and authority in Ryou in the face of foreign aggressors. With the notable change in government type and the poor political stability of the country, as well the recent hostilities the country has been involved in, a peacekeeping force allows Stevid to make a visible impact to stabilise the country and to ensure its protection against hostile states.

This peacekeeping force will not take the guise of an occupation force as many critics of Stevid will push to presume and thus only infantrymen and APCs will feature in the force. With a peacekeeping force in place, a possibly rowdy population can be more effectively controlled since the government change has been quite radical. Local police constabularies will have to take time to adjust and this will make anarchy a real possibility before the Maoist government exerts full and proper control over the nation. How long this will take is privy to open and wild guesses but the Holy Empire will aid Ryou in this form so as to help the government stabilise itself and the nation into a more hospitable environment.

The peacekeeping force will number in the high thousands and will be shipped to and from the islands by Royal Navy corvettes, what remains of the Ryou military is welcome to assist in the transportation of Stevidian peacekeeping troops but the Holy Empire urges them to refrain from taking to the streets and providing support to the peacekeeping efforts and concentrate on establishing themselves as the new governments protectors and to inform the people that they too are their protectors. Stevid’s strong and visible presence within the islands will serve to quell any rebellion to this radical government type and will maintain peace and stability to Ryou until the Holy Empire sees Ryou ready to stand by itself and control its own people.

This decree hereby takes immediate effect and troops are already on their way by transport aircraft. This is a non-negotiable move because the Empire does not want an unstable nation within its ranks, the fact that a coup d’etat took place without the knowledge of the Empire is nearly unforgivable but to prevent something like this happening again in the near future a peacekeeping force has been sent to assure Ryou the Empire supports this new, if be it radical left wing, government.

The Ryou Black Islands

A secluded airport almost miles from anywhere was the least likely place for a trio of C5 Galaxy transport aircraft to land at and yet there they were, three C5’s sitting in parking bays adjacent to the landing strip. There was a small town not too far from the airport but had been strong supporters of the new communist government and this was visible by the posters scattered all over the town and the airport, it seemed illogical for Stevid to act as police in such a loyal town. But these planes were not carrying ordinary troops of the Holy Empire, not even Royal Marines- this was not obvious to the Ryou military commanders or any innocent bystander but a clever man would recognise an insignia that would terrify many in Stevid, the insignia of the Inquisition.

Ryou had not been in the Empire long enough to know much about the Inquisition or even care about the organisation and its history but the acts performed by the Inquisition and the Knights Templar were fairly well known by many around the world and it was now official that a chapter of the Knights Templar and the Inquisition were present on this islands as well as the ordinary Stevidian military. The C5 Galaxies lowered their ramps and sixty Templars in all formed ranks behind the planes with the Justicars at the head and a single Brother- Captain in command of this single chapter. But out of one of the Galaxies walked a well built man wearing fine silver armour and with a ruby red velvet coat draped over his back, he had a sword held in its scabbard on his left side and a holstered pistol on the right. With him was a small retinue of men, one looked like a priest or cardinal probably from St. Malleus Cathedral itself carrying a giant crucifix, another man was what looked like a bodyguard or student of this grand man, finally there was what looked like a scribe scribbling away anything the man said with a feather quill. This bore all the characteristics of an inquisitor.

The inquisitor faced the ranks of Knights and stood at ease but called the Knights to attention, the cardinal slammed the cross down on the ground and stood it erect before the Knights to which they all bowed their heads. The inquisitor led the sixty Knights, their Justicars and their Brother-Captain in unison as they all said the Lord’s Prayer, all were oblivious to a Ryou senior military commander stationed at the airport and only when the chapter had finished the prayer to God did the inquisitor turn to face the Ryou commander. The inquisitor, this raw manifestation of God’s power, dwarfed the Ryouian who seemed to tremble before the inquisitor however he did find the courage to steady his body, extend a hand and introduce himself as the military commander of the military/civilian airport. The inquisitor did not take the man’s hand and only scowled at him in reply.

“Silence your tongue infidel or I shall remove it from your heretical body. My name is Inquisitor Fabious Dawn and I represent the Inquisition’s holy presence here in The Ryou Black Islands. You will speak only when spoken to or if you have any important information worthy of my time- otherwise you would do well to keep quiet while in my presence. The Ordo Malleus has sent me and the Knights Templar to aid the Stevidian Empire in controlling the less enthusiastic people in your population who are against communism in this country.”

The Ryouian wanted to respond but a silencing hand from Inquisitor Dawn stopped him from talking.

“A unit of Knights with a Justicar will accompany me and we shall not be followed understood?” Stated Dawn to which the Ryouian commander only responded with a meek nod. “Good, and you will also allow us to bring crates of munitions and goods for the men while we are away making your country a better place?

He did not wait for a response and even if he did the Ryouian already knew his place. The Inquisitor snapped his fingers and at once a unit of Templars darted onto the nearest plane and began lugging many crates out of the cargo bay before the unit and its Justicar marched off towards a country lane towards a forest several miles from two tiny villages.

“Thank you commander.” Said Inquisitor Dawn with the faintest of smiles. “In fact, you maybe of some use after all this is your country. You will join Company A that have just left and help Justicar Samuel with directions… Go.”

The Ryouian wanted to resist but the Inquisitor made it obvious that death would be the answer to insubordination since Dawn had unclipped the flap of his holstered gun as a reminder to the Ryouian commander. Besides Ryou was now a part of the Empire and Stevid was taking the time and trouble to defend the country, the least the military could do was cooperate. Inquisitor Dawn left the Ryouian commander darting off to join the company of Templar Knights that had just departed.

Knights Templar A Company- Local woodland

The Ryouian chased after the Justicar who stood at the junction that led off down a muddy country footpath into the dense woodland, the rest of the company had already set off towards a clearing that had been seen on local maps as a perfect area to set up a camp before executing their mission while the Justicar had stayed behind to wait for the Ryouian military man who had not yet introduced himself.

“Hello commander, my name is Brother Samuel, Justicar in the Knights Templar and in direct command of A Company.”

The Ryouian introduced himself, it was the first time he had spoken since the aircraft had landed and the two began talking and one point came up that the Ryouian would not live to regret… literally. He asked why the company were camped out in the forest an hour or so from a village.

“Let you in on a secret commander. You see, apart from the Inquisitor or the Chapter- no one knows we’re here. You are the only foreigner, the only Ryouian to know we are here on this special operation.”

“What operation? If you don’t mind me saying sir?” The Ryouian asked as politely as possible to which the Justicar stopped in his tracks. A smile crossed his scarred face, his full head helmet hung from his waist.

“Of course, but it comes at a price. We are here not only to safeguard your state but to strike a blow at the Islamist infidel and incriminate them over the war and other things such as tyranny and corruption. Their policies conflict with the Empire’s and so they must be dealt with… your allies… the Maldorians.”

The Ryouian commander was stunned, he seemed not to believe it at first but the sincerity of the Justicar was all too clear and to learn of such a conspiracy would bring Stevid into light of opposition against Maldorians and Ryou’s alliance with them.

“Now you have to pay the price for this information. This information is strictly top secret and cannot be allowed to fall into enemy or allied hands especially when a certain someone has the only knowledge of the whereabouts of A Company… and yet in my carelessness I have just given you the information…” Justicar Samuel said the last sentence in a mocking tone and the Ryouian commander’s face colour turned from peach into a pale white as if he knew what was coming.
“And so the information has fallen into hands where it shouldn’t belong. I cannot allow this, thus you must be dealt with to ensure that the information of our mission now the location of A Company is disclosed.”

The Ryouian found confidence and began to turn to run from the Justicar, he turned one eighty degrees but before his feet moved to propel him away from the Justicar, the Knight had already drawn his silver sword from his scabbard and swung it horizontally and elegantly and completely removed the Ryouian’s head from the body. The head rolled away into a shrubbery and the body collapsed into a heap on the floor, minutes later two knights arrived to collect the head and the body and burn in a clearing, any items the commander had were removed and destroyed.

Ryouian Village- Operation Condemnation

It was early afternoon, just reaching lunchtime, and the tiny village was bustling with small children attending the small primary school in the centre, mothers taking the younger children to the play parks and men working on buildings or at the post office and whatnot- ordinary quiet country life, tranquil and undisturbed. The communist banners flapped in the wind, posters proclaiming the greatness of the Maoist Government stood out in blood red flooding the village with far left-wing propaganda.

But the tranquillity was not to last, the heart warming laughter of children in the school playground or of the younger kids in the parks would not last long either, the parents talking with each other would be interrupted by terror. The Knights Templar had completely surrounded the tiny village with snipers scatter around the fields to pick off any who ran away in the unlikely event that the Knights going in first would not kill all in their path. They would not be disturbed by any visitors either as the Stevidian military had been ordered to set up roadblocks ten miles on all roads leading to the village, the carnage would ensue and end quickly- if it was one thing the Knights gave back in remorse or pity it was that they killed quickly.

Knights rushed into the village in groups of five all with the helmets on, the pistols in their right hand and their sharpened silver broadswords in their left. Opening shots were fired and the village fell into silence, seconds later gunshots replaced the laughter and then the shots were replaced by screams as the Knights massacred everyone they saw regardless of age, sex or race and like an angry flood the Knights washed away all that lay before them. Grenades were used to clear houses of occupants and those who resisted were arrested and executed either that or were killed out right. The adults were slain by sword while the children were granted the mercy of bullets to the head, back or chest. Teens were not raped nor were shops pillaged, this was not a raid but an act of murder that even the hardy Knights Templar struggled to carry out which was why they were chosen, ordinary troops or marines would never commit such acts while the Knights would do anything for the greater good of God or to bring about the downfall of an Islamist state. In less than an hour, everyone necessary had been killed and those who managed to flee the village were picked off by the snipers. The head counts confirmed all were dead, the numbers match those intelligence had reported hours earlier plus a few more who had entered the village. Mutilated corpses lay in the street with blood spilling out of their gapping wounds, up walls an on the sidewalks, in toilets and on doors, in cars and in bedrooms- everywhere one looked in the village there was death. But the mission was not over yet.

The guns used were neither Stevidian standard issue nor Stevidian at all but were in fact the same kind as used by the Maldorians’ armed forces. A half decent forensic expert in Ryou would be able to tell this from the cartridges all over the place but in case this wasn’t enough there were more false hints left. Some of the men were not killed, they were necessary to the mission’s success, they were given uniforms to resemble those worn by Mal soldiers- not identical but almost completely fool proof even to a Maldorian soldier, officer or military expert. The men, while wearing the uniforms were then taken away and butchered with common weapons and not with guns such as hammers, screwdrivers, irons, drills and planks of wood with nails, anything that a civilian would use to kill someone. This would give the effect that the population had tried to defend itself but would also give more credible proof that the Maldorians had committed the atrocities. Of course their government would deny it and heap the blame on Stevidian soldiers but the evidence against them would be strong and also no one knew that the Knights Templar were anywhere near the village when it happened. The roadblocks were erected at exactly the same time as the attack was beginning and so Stevid would be almost completely in the clear, the claim would be that a Stevidian patrol group were in the area and saw the attack and immediately informed senior officers who then acted quickly to close the roads. The Stevidians would go in a search the village for survivors and take photographs, then they would inform the new Ryouian government that a professional and heavily armed group had attacked the village delivering the hard evidence that it was a military operation due to the way people were attacked and killed as well has the incriminating evidence against their allies Maldorians.

In most respects Stevid would be seen as the good guys that arrived too late to kill the attackers (this ironically was the case since the operation was top secret and ordinary troops in the army were kept out of the loop). The response from the Maldorians would be swift and entertaining to hear because no one could discount the ‘possibility’ that a ‘black ops’ had been ordered by the Mal government to, for whatever bizarre reason, incriminate Stevid.

Alibis were given to those who needed them and everything was set. Aleos and Stevid had started the international conspiracy that would benefit both countries in so many ways. The Stevidian Army went into the village without full knowledge of what had happened, oblivious to the fact that Templar Knights of Stevid murdered the villagers, they then took pictures and recordings, collected the weapons and ‘Maldorian’ bodies and presented the Maoist Government of The Ryou Black Islands with piles of evidence linking the massacre to the Maldorians. The aftermath of this would only be good news to both Aleos and Stevid.

OOC: Maldorians, the Air Base is the one attacked now as I made it clear before. That's the base we are talking about.

Aleos. Central Headquarters.

At his desk, the supreme commander waited, it was only a matter of time now. Having received confirmation from his representative about the willingness if the Stevidians to cooperate on the forwarded proposal, all he had to do now was wait.

It didn’t take long for him to receive the news he was waiting for. As news about the event travelled around the world, the Aleosites weren't ones to miss it.

“Sir,” one of the newly assigned ensigns entered the room, “We have just received news from TRBI. It seems the nation of Maldorians has acted against the new TRBI government. We have compiled a small report on the incident.”

“Good, this is something we can’t let pass. Maldorians did one crime too many,” the commander spoke, although he already knew who was the true culprit of this operation. “Prepare for an official statement. We will make our opinion known.”

“At your command!” the ensign answered and departed the room.

Young and eager, just like the commander liked them. The youth, like most of the Aleosites had no idea on what was happening, for him this was just another report from the battle zone, one that was available to the world at large. Too few of the commander’s staff knew what was really happening, but it was of little consequence, things were going to move forward now, with even greater speed.

Now alone, the commander started writing the official reply of Aleos. With news of the event leaking over to the international community this was the perfect moment for a public accusation.

======

Official Statement.

We look in horror at the crimes committed by the nation of Maldorians against the people of the Ryou Black Islands and offer our deepest condolences to those who have lost family and kin in this slaughter.

It is sad indeed to see that only days after hostilities ceased in the area some seek to reignite the flames of hate and conflict. Instead of burrowing the axe of war, they choose to attack their allies, those who fought at the same side and shared victory and loss with them. There is little more we can say about a nation that seeks war at all cost and which ignores even the bonds they forged in fire just for profit and land.

With this in mind, we offer our aid to the Holy Empire and to the grieving people of TRBI in cleansing their lands of this menace and bringing peace after so long. We are willing to commit forces as peacekeepers and peace enforcers in these troubled lands, bringing forth a new golden age of peace.

The Supreme Commander.

OOC: I have yet to reply, for a few reasons. I sent a message to Stevid and I await an answer. I have a few concerns on the post.
