The Imperial Cazelian flight school was founded in 1974 in response to the miserable dogfighting skills of Cazelian pilots against NVA MiGs in vietnam. the school is now accepting pilots and trainees from around the world. the primary aircraft types are the 2 seater F/A-11 Imperiator, the F/A-18 hornet, the F-22 raptor and the F-35B JSF. the school has a fee of 1,200 per year. the minimum age to enter is 14. the students will learn dogfighting, ground attack, long range air-to-air and survival after an ejection

Steve watched the video, knowing what was sure to happen. Damn, what in hell were designers thinking, making a fighter without a gun?, he thought with a touch of anger. "Lt. I wish to go to the Imperial Cazelian Flight School, I've flown 20 combat missions in the F-4D/E Phantom II, the F-5E Tiger II, and observation missions in the P-51 Mustang, and if possible I would like to have Lt.Ingram Halsey as my instructor, I know from experience he's an excellent fighter jock.

Cody Laffoon followed the instructions. He was fit for his age and one of the top junior sprinters in Palamos, in the top 10. Still the smallest of the Dian's sent to the flight school. He had a moment he pictured himself in the Mig seeing the sky in still frames. The moment passed and he looked to his wingman to gauge his impressions. A small smile cracked on his face.

His father was a pilot, a helicopter pilot for the legion. He was actually deployed in Cazelia which was one of the main reasons for him seeking to join the flight school. He'd been up before, but never in an actual fighter, he was looking forward to it, and put all fears and concerns about being in a aircraft that could break the speed of sound aside.

Steve watched the video, knowing what was sure to happen. Damn, what in hell were designers thinking, making a fighter without a gun?, he thought with a touch of anger. "Lt. Ryan Getzlaf hopped into his F-16 Falcon. Man, I can't wait, he thought to himself. This is the toughest plane known to man to pilot! He put on his special helmet with HUD from home. "Hey, everyone," he said into the radio. "This is guy in F-16, I'll have my nickname-Maverick. Let's go boys!"

John changed quickly and he put on his flight suit, and his helmet, which read "Aces High", and a 11 little red star symbols which indicated his air to air kills. And he started to follow the man..

"Demon, roger roger, let's burn it up, over," Steven responded. He was sitting in the cockpit of an F/A-11, his helmet in the tricolor of the Prestonian flag with a flaming skull on the front. This was the day he'd been looking forward to.

John pushed the throttle forward gently to military power, and the F/A-11 rolled down the runway and took off, thundering, he then pulled the thottle to cruise. He said on the radio "What heading are the drone fighters at?, what type are they?" He was loving this place from time he stepped into the F/A-11 jet.

Far below on the Runway, a lone pilot rested his hand upon his Mig-29. He gazed towards the sky watching the simulated attack and dogfight rounds.

He put on his helmet and opened the channel,
"Hello, this is Student Rykov, Codename Iceman, requesting permission for takeoff."
"Okay Iceman", responded a Female voice, "Your tranjectory is delta-niner zero, mission 340."
Rykov smiled, this was a mission worthy of his abilities!

John smiled and said "Thanks Ingram!, I've got two more bogies to finish off, hmm, coming at 12,5, 2,000 feet below.., Let's Dive!" He dove to F/A-11 sharply, getting a lock on the two drones, and locked on, said "Fox 1, missile launch, missile guiding, splash two drones, wooohooo!"

Ingram switched the radio to John's frequency "i invited Rae just so you knew, and stop using missiles, and start using your guns!" he said, spiralling into a dive, unleashing 200-300 shelles into the remaining 8 fighters, flying through one of the explosions "ye-haw!" he yelled

seconds later, Ingram, codename Reaper, flew approxamametly 10 feet above Rykov's fighter, pushing the sound barrier and switching to Rykov's radio signal "welcome to hell, Dunerian. i'm Ingram, Ingram Hasley. i'm the youngest triple ace and flight instrucor. i have killed 18 Londinian EUF fighters and 12 londinian A-10s, and i'm only 16"

Reaper's sig is ravenous Rae, named after a freind from school. it's a girl riding on a plane, blasting MiGs out of the sky with 2 pistols" Tiger banked right, coming in behind the F-18A and unleashed 400 rounds into the drone, ripping it to shreds "that's the last one, head back to base"

Pity he thought, a simulated fight against Ingram would have been most...fun.
No matter, he had training to do. First up was simulated dogfights against several drones. Rykov smiled, this was exactly what the Mig was designed to do .
"Computer, Rykov ordered, engage targeting system."
"Acknowledged." droned the computer.

Ingram, now down on the ground replied "shoot down that F-18A!"

The first thing Ryan did was spin, just in case his target had a lock on him. That's why he liked the Falcon-it could pull the weirdest maneuvers. Then, "Computer. Lock onto target." A minute later. "Target found." "Fire." He then fired his AIM-9 Sidewinder right at the F-18A. (OOC: Is someone from the school?)

Julius Nero II boarded his 747 and left for Cazelia.

IC: Over Cazelia, the 747 got into its final approach. Julius Nero II found it odd that he was being sent to a former enemy of the state. He would not disobey his uncle who sent him to the flight school. For some reason, his nation had also given Cazelia weapons. Politics, to him anyway, were dreadfully odd.

The plane landed, and he was rushed into a limo. This limo had the usual things: a driver, refrigerator, etc. Julius was quite used to this, although he had not revealed this privately. He was quite a partier, and he didn't want his father to know.

When his father was shot, he was saddened but not by much. He never liked his father. The Emperor treated his country better than his son. It didn't matter now, because his father was dead and he was in his uncle's protection. He liked his uncle, and he thought his uncle was going to become emperor.

They pulled up to the flight school (or whatever building), got out with his suitcases packed with clothes, electronics, and that sort of thing. He began to walk down the path to the front door...

John saw Julius Nero II walk in, John still in his flight suit, and his helmet in his left hand said "Hello, I am Lt.John Arnold, from Calizorinstan, my father, the president sent me to this school, and I just got back from my first flight in this school."

Julius approached John, and, grabbing his hand and shaking it, said "Hey. I'm Julius Nero. My uncle sent me here."

John smiled and said "Nice to meet you Julius, they had me, let's see, shoot down some old F-18 Hornet drones, bomb tanks, and report a location of a fake enemy encampment, appearently I succeded, and I got to name my plane, like you will in time, I named mine the "Half Blood Prince", if you've read Harry Potter, you will know the irony of the name."

John smirked and said "Interesting, well, I believe that since I like Snape so much, I'd name an aircraft after him, using his nickname, I did a very good portrait of him on the nose. And by the way during the flight school, Lt.Hasley our instructor said that once you name your aircraft, you fly the same one until you graduate, so the F-14 with the "Half Blood Prince" marking on it, is mine, and my helmet says "Half Blood Prince" on the back off it, with my Harry Potter obesssion, my nickname is the "Half Blood Prince.."

Ingram walked over to Julius "hi, i'm Ingram Hasley, or reaper as you will call me. i'm your flight instructor and the youngest triple ace in the region" Ingram directed Julius to his F/A-11 "this one is mine, Ravenous Rae" he said "she's an old friend of mine from high school" he then walked Julius over to another F/A-11 without markings "this one is yours" he said "paint it how you wish" he then walked over to John "and by the way, the squadron is staying at my place, AKA the mansion" he said with a grin

OOC: My guy's still in midair, what should he do?

Soon, 3 drones appeared on`the Radar screen. As they Streaked towards him, Rykov could see weapon system's arming and detaching from the bodies of the drones.

No more games.

Rykov armed his 9 A-A missiles and slowed the Mig down, according to the Mig 29's manual, "In order to get as many kill's as possible, a pilot must have the time to lock onto all his enemies."

Rykov couldn't agree more with the code. As soon as he decreased his speed 3 target marker's appeared on his MTS*.

Rykov, thumbed his throttle and pulled the trigger 3 times.
"Foxbat 1, Foxbat 2, Foxbat 3 away!" Three missiles shot from under the Mig's wings. Two missiles did their job correctly. The designated drones were destroyed in a spectacular fashion. The third one sped towards the third drone.

Suddenly the Drone launched it's Anti Missile system and the third missile exploded harmlessly away from it's target.

"Damn" thought Rykov with a smile, I forgot about Cazelian Retrofitting."

As the Drone sped away. Rykov gave chase.
This time their would be no mistakes.

*Mig Targeting System

Suddenly four drones appeared on his radar. Maverick istantly pulled into a spinning dive, sustaining 9g with his F-16E. Once he was sure no missiles were fired, he locked onto the drones. "Fire," he told the computer. The rest of his AIM-9 Sidewinders were fired (5). Despite the fact Ryan was still spinning, he got a nice view of the drones. It was like a domino effect-there went the 1st, the 2nd, and so on. Because of his lack of missiles, Ryan landed and heard about staying at the mansion.

Rykov chased the drone throughout the sky, going mach 2 and increasing.

Soon as the drone was locked on by his MTS, he pulled the trigger and a torrent of Cannon fire tore the drone to shreds.

Banking his plane below, he saw another fighter attacking some drones. He recognized the markings.

"Well well he thought, It's time to say hello to Maverick."

Ryan saw a beep on his radar. He looked over to the side, and saw a MIG. Man, he hated Migs mainly because of the USSR. But he recognized the pilot. Rykov.

"Maverick to Rykov," said Ryan. "Are you in, copy."

John had been ordered to return to the base, and was playing on his electric guitar, while waiting for the rest to come down.

"Yeah I copy." said Rykov.
"That was nice flying back there, congrats."

"Um, thanks." said Ryan. "And, congrats on your new MIG. Why'd you choose it? My Falcon can sustain up to 9 gs-hence I pull all these weird diving spins maneuvers. Then he pulled one. "Who says they aren't effective?"

"Care for a little friendly competition", Rykov said to Maverick "You know to see what can do more, A Mig 29 or a F-16."

"OK, what should we do?" asked Ryan.

"Well... we could do a fake dogfight, since that's what our planes were built for. We'll use our Targetting system's, First one that get's the other in their sights win's, Just like in Top Gun.

John took off in his F/A-11 to join the F-16 and a Mig, and he said on the radio "Maverick, this is Grizzly over, coming to join you."

"OK, said Ryan. "Let's spread out, say, one hundred miles or klicks, whatever you prefer, and charge!" Ryan was sure he'd win-the Falcon was so agile. It was considered the best dogfighter except for the F-22A Raptor because it was stealthy and less agile. Then, he looked over the side. "Oh, hello John." said Ryan. "Who'd thought we'd be here from Kensington?" It was a university where they were roomies. "Let me and Rykov just finish this first, then we can talk."

"All right, You're on!" said Rykov.

Banking to the Left, he saw the F-16 trying to lock onto his plane

"Dammit." he swore. Now he realized it. He was trying to fight the F-16's strength, agility. The farther away he got from the F-16, the better his opponent's chance was to lock onto him. What he needed to do was get closer and get into a dogfight.... but how.

Suddenly, Rykov had an Idea. Slowly, he eased the engines down and decreased the speed. Then he did a loop that enveloped him into the clouds.

Once in the safety of cover, Rykov increased the speed emerged from the clouds.

Suprisingly, he found himself almost beside the F-16.
Rykov smiled, this was going to be an interesting match.

Ingram was scared. the Seperatists said they would never enter Cazelian territory, or attack Cazelian outposts. just a day earlier an old outpost near the desert. the missile sped up, exploding just off the tip ov the swept wing. Ingram pulled the ejection seat activator but to no avail "i'm going down!" he yelled into the radio, his plane hitting the ground and sliding to a halt.

John nodded and said "I'm on it, I've got a lock on three of them, Fox 1, Fox 2, Splash 2 SU-22 Fighters, and I've got one in my gun sights, (He fired the gun, sending one Su-22 in flames), and splash one Su-22 Fitter." He turned the F/A-11 and gasped and said "Ingram, we have 6 enemy MIG-19 fighters inbound, not a drill!" He got a lock on two and said "Fox 1, missiles away, splash two MIG-19's."

John called on the radio "Ingram's down, we need a rescue chopper, Demon, there's a flight of 4 MiG-19's headed toward us, I downed two of them, but I'm out of missiles, and I am low on cannon rounds too."

John nodded and as he landed 2 MH-53L's were taking off for the rescue mission, and John yelled to the crew cheifs "Arm this baby up, I need to get this thing armed pronto!", Msgt.Jonathan, yelled "Yes sir!, we're at war, let's get this F/A-11 armed up boys!", and in 15 minutes the F/A-11, the "Half Blood Prince", was armed.

John taxied to the runway and said after he took off, "Demon to Grizzly, the rescue choppers are on their way, I am armed, and according to my radar a flight of 6 Mig-21's are in bound, I will take them out for you, because they're headed towards me.."

He got a lock on two, and fired two missiles on them and said "Splash Two Mig-21's, these separatists sure seem to be novices, heck even the Khilistanians are better then theses guys.." He closed in on one Mig-21 firing a burst of his 20mm and said "Splashed one, the rest are turning tail, I got a total of 9 enemy jets today, I counted 'em all, I will make sure none come, and then I'll RTB Demon."

The F-15 dove sharply under John, and attempted to climb up behind him, but John executed a Innelmen, and it did a sharp corkscrew climb to try and get behind him, which he did a Split S in response too, it turned around and climbed down, and fired a 20mm burst, which he felt some metal climb off, and he did another Split S, and finally they climbed together kind off in a twirl, finally he got behind the unknown skilled ace pilot, and saw 15 Cazelian Air Force logos painted near his canopy, and he, not waiting for the pilot to move away, fired a lethal 20mm burst, and the F-15A blew up, but not before the pilot ejected..

John said on the radio "Demon, a high value enemy ace attempted to shoot me down, and I shot him down, I need a chopper to pick him up, I'll circle him to keep him in check.."

"Roger that, I'll inform the helo when I land, over."

"Good Hunting said Rykov, Can't believe we got all of them, who were those guy's..... Whackjob's with stolen aircraft? Even for insurgents they were pretty Lack-lustre."

John nodded and said "Demon, I am going to RTB now, I am very low on fuel, and I think some damage on my control surfaces..." He said to Striker in the back "I think we may have to eject, so when I say "eject", do just that okay?" He heard her say "Yes", and he lined it up on the runway, and he started down, just then a fuel line popped and a explosion occured, John roaring "EJECT, EJECT", and he pulled his ejection handle, and he ejected from the F/A-11, and he said softly to himself "Good bye Half Blood Prince, you fell like your name sake, in battle..", and John felt the rush of wind as he settled back down to earth a mile from the air field, he hadn't been sure if Striker ejected it all, come to think of it.., he shook the nasty thought from his head, and hoped people saw him eject..

As Steve stepped out of his plane, he ran towards the helicopter to give them the updated search-and-rescue. "We've got three downed friendlies, callsigns Reaper, Grizzly and Striker, and one enemy high ace. Bring them back alive."

A MH-53 Pave Hawk crew landed, with the enemy high ace, and they had also picked up Grizzly, and they had found Striker in the airplane, but alive, she hadn't eject, but suffered grevious wounds, John said "They're looking for Reaper still, they should be near his last reported location, good hunting demon, if I was a first timer, it'd be an ace in a day fight, instead I am now a 30 kill ace.., I wish I knew the name of the enemy high ace.."

"I'm one kill short of making ace. Damn, I hope they find Reaper, I was the one who asked the Cazelian Air Force to let him instruct and I was the one who talked him into coming. If he doesn't make it,........." Steve let his voice trail off. No, he's gotta make it, he's gotten out of worse than this, he thought to himself. Thinking to try his radio in case Ingram had activated his emergency transmitter, he said "Demon to Reaper, come in Reaper. We have Search-and-Rescue inbound. Hang on buddy." Damn, I hope he heard that.

John said shakily to Steve "Why don't you go along with the rescue crews, Rykov just reported his location, I'll go inside and have a cool down.., don't worry I think you'll be an ace before all this is over." He finished grimly, and he walked in, shaken by what he had just finished, a training mission messed up horribly..

"Yeah, I think I'll go with the search crew, I'm sure my presence will raise Ingram's morale," Steve said. How in the hell did a training op turn into a dogfight?, Steve thought angrily. "Those separatist bastards will pay for this. I'll make sure of that," he said, thinking aloud. He was still stewing with anger as he climbed aboard the Pave Hawk to go rescue his buddy.

John had the gun camera from his F/A-11, he had managed to take it from the wreckage, and he played it on the TV, and sat back and decided to review it, to see what could've gone wrong.

Seeing the rescue crew's coming to Ingrams location, Rykov Sped towards the Airfield.
He needed to think over what happened. This wasn't a part of the program, he and his fellow students were actually attacked by unknown seperatists. He knew that all of the students were either really confused or really pissed.
Himself; a combination of the two. Confused by the sudden intrusion of Cazelian airspace by enemy forces and pissed by the fact that 3 of his classmates were shot down.
At any rate, everyone deserved a good nights rest and when Ingram got up, he would be seeing Rykov greeting him with a smile.

When Rykov would inevitably walk in, he would see John taking notes from his gun camera, and what he could see of the others, and evaluating everybody's preformance, John thought "When Ingram comes back, he'll find this useful lesson material.."

Meanwhile, Steve stood out on the tarmac and admired the shining beauty that was his new fighter. "I can't wait to take her for a spin," he said aloud. He wouldn't have to wait long. He was scheduled to escort the C-5 back to Orlock, then run a patrol with the rest of his wing. Tomorrow would be a good day, but not an easy one. There were no easy days in war.

Steve awoke bright and early at 0400 to escort the C-5 to Orlock. The first half of the trip was uneventful, but the return trip turned up something of great importance. "roger that, flight C-2148 moving to destroy" said a pilot as 8 F-35Bs flew in and cluster bombed the airfield
