I am still here hoorah:)
The Gold Rush R.p thread is the joint mining operation you proposed Scandi...
Should be a decent r.p Hopefully.....
BTW can I be back on the list soon, Thanks....
Are you implying a Christian invasion of the Godless heathen Nordic tribes? To this we say; fear not Satan. Fear the ill tempered women, and then the weather! HA!
I have no plans to invade your country - I already have my places in Canada, plus sending a large force to defeat you in Winter (or most times in the most Northern areas) would be costly. However, I like RPing diplomatic tiffs. This reminds me - are we going to have a general IC thread for this?
I don't plan on making the Swiss neutral as they are now.

Corbournne;12865950']Hey, I'm interested in joining this, but, before I do, could I know how population works?Either you use the rule of the population being one fifth of current populations, in the case of southern European countries, or one eigth for the rest of the world, or find a reliable source of infromation for the population status which I will have to agree with.;) So it is really up to you to find the population status as I have not find a global population website, for this time period at least.

Ok, may I claim what's left of India, China, and Pakistan, as well as the rest of the -stans and Caucasus region?
I'll have a factbook up soon as well. What religion is your nation Carlo? (I'm not religious myself, but my NS nation is highly influenced by the Vatican).

I don't know. In RL I am Christian, but I've always toyed with the idea of reforming the Turkish Muslim Empire (No Drosk, I'll go and expand elsewhere, lol).
If you'd stay neutral that be nice. Anywhere Carcil attacks hes going straight into the Pontics or the Carpathians. I'm not worried. Oh, and I support your Roman Forum idea. If you'd let me into it (I have large European holdings) I'd participate.

Hm? Come on in I suppose.
what if someone were to discover my area?
People have already discovered your area, your neighboring nations. If they didn't know where your area was, they would have already have claimed your area (hence why they didn't claim your area because of the big signs near your border that say: Welcome to the Tibetian Empire! Go away because were isolationists! :))
Apparently the signs work
lol, I acutally am 87.5 Norwegian in real life, but I am willing to await for your email till whatever time you wish to send it to me tommorrow.
It has been sent through Telegram. Hopefully you got it.

no, it is men with guns and cannons that keeps them away
XD
(how they discovered Western weaponry is a mystery you will find out after we are un-isolationist.)

Well... the Chinese did discover America in 1419 (or 1420... it happened during the rise of the Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty - check out the voyages of Eunuch Zhenghe).

Well... the Chinese did discover America in 1419 (or 1420... it happened during the rise of the Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty - check out the voyages of Eunuch Zhenghe).Well, to beg to differ you are citing a popular book which proposes the Chinese arrivied in America in 1421. Yet, to point the Chinese had long been inward looking and did not further up on it. As well, the theory is widely disregarded and is without the support of professioanl historians or even Sinologists. As such, I do not agree to the theory. Further, the Chinese civilization being much more notable in construction and sheer scale would have left evidence to the fact that they arrivied in America, for crying out loud the the Vikings left a couple of buildings in Newfoundland as their proog and to point out without any actual evidence of it and disregard by the academic community forces me to not believe in the theory.
Here is a good thing on wikipedia on it:

Well, I never read the book, but I don't know for certain about what the book says. I had a source that stated a Chinese emblem, proclaiming the rise of some Emperor (I believe the Xuande Emperor, since the Hongle Emperor didn't like wasting money on frivolous projects; in that case, the year is 1425), was found off the coast of America. I can't say that I trust the source, now that I can't find it (it always happens like that, don't it? ^^). Of course, I do remember that Zheng He himself never ventured "east", always going into the Western Ocean (aka Indian Ocean).
Anyways, even without the voyage to America, you can't say that they didn't travel to Africa. The point being, China can have as great a navy as it can have (although I can't say that it's going to be my primary focus...)

I was commenting on it, as well I never denied he reached Africa, in fact if I am right there are clear records of him bringinig things like giraffes back. As well, I never said one European country would defeat you in a naval war I was just saying at the same time Europeans would very likely try to prevent, using their fleets, to prevent China from having to great of naval power which might threaten their colonies and the very important trade they have from them.

one thing that sort of evades my comprehension - how do people halfway around the world know what's going on? This is directed mostly at the war threads, considering that telegraphs were invented in 1844 (just in time for that 1850 RP...), and besides that, the fastest way anywhere was by horse or by sails. Forget who discovered America - how do people figure this stuff out? ESP?
I use the assumption that anything message wise I get as at the very quickest a few days old...depending on what part of the world its coming from...weeks or maybe a few months

It's the China syndrome... whenever I take China in some RP, it inevitably will die within weeks.
There's a WWIII RP that died too (and just guess what I was).
My longest streak holding China was SYAE, and that wasn't too bad for an RP...
