MLM Compact Light Machinegun

Overview

The MLM light machinegun is similar to the DR-87 carbine in that it is the result of field modifications by Imperial soldiers, who found their DMG-83 light machineguns to be ill-suited to house to house fighting or fighting out of the confines of a personnel carrier. Imperial armorers originally experimented with affixing DR-87 upper recievers to DMG-83 lower recievers and replacing the lower reciever's fixed buttstock with the folding collapsable stock found on the DR-87, and with some further tweaking and cannibalization allowing for the upper reciever to accept a desintegrating link belt for 6.7mm ammunition. They ended up with a highly compact, highly effective lightweight machinegun which was proven to be highly adept in house-to-house fighting and praised by those who carried it for its compact size, which made it especially adept at being employed from the confines of an infantry fighting vehicle. This is an important feature for any weapon utilized in the Exercitus (Imperial Army), as the vast majority of Imperial formations are mechanized.

The main drawbacks to these field modifications was the tendency for the barrels to quickly overheat, and the lack of a quick change provision for the barrels made this a particularly dangerous flaw. Recoil was another serious issue, as the small 14.5" barrel was a good deal shorter than the 21" barrel the DMG-83 sported. As with the DR-87, Doomingsland Defense Industries was contracted by the Exercitus to refine and improve the weapon and present them with a weapon that they could officially put into service.

Doomingsland Defense Industries responded with the MLM light machinegun, a compact squad automatic weapon design in response to Imperial soldiers' requests for an LMG more suited to CQB and mechanized warfare. The weapon has surprisingly little recoil due to the use of a number of systems to cut back on recoil and muzzle climb, and problems with the barrel overheating have been solved in a unique manner.

DDI came up with a new upper and lower reciever for the MLM, although it does have 60% common parts with the DR-87. Construction materials remain the same for the reciever and furniture, and it maintains the same stock and grip. It also maintains the same highly effective muzzle break/flash suppressor found on the DR-87, which vastly reduces muzzle climb. Like the DMG-83 and unlike the DR-87, the MLM is fed from a disintegrating link belt for 6.7mm ammunition. Like both weapons, the MLM maintains the DR-series' highly effective buffer spring, which serves to greatly reduce felt recoil. In addition, the MLM maintains the balanced gas system utilized by both weapons to greatly increase managability when firing on fully automatic; and, of course, there is the standard array of rails for the mounting of accessories.

However, there are some very notable differences between the MLM and its two predecessors. Borrowing from the 4M medium machinegun series, the MLM utilizes a forced air cooling system as opposed to a quick change barrel system, which allows for the MLM to theoretically fire six hundred continuous rounds without endangering the barrel. Finally, the weapon utilizes the constant recoil principal to greatly reduce recoil. Enough room is alotted for the bolt to gradually slow down in its rearward movement, effectively allowing for the bolt to travel backwards without making contact with the rear. This, on top of the other systems utilized, makes for a weapon with very little felt recoil, making the weapon especially suited for CQB scenarios. A variant of the MLM featuring an 18" barrel, the MLM-18, is designed to be utilized alongside the DR-83M rifle.

Yanpei Technologies D24 8x8 Vehicle Series

Manufactured by the Yanpei Technologies armaments division, the Howler is the primary IFV used by Jade Guard and G-SDF armoured and mechanized units.

This fast 8x8 wheeled IFV is is armed with a 40mm linear cannon and a secondary 7.62 caseless machine gun. The latest A3 varient has addressed the previous lack of tank killing capability, this has been achieved by removing two of the smoke launchers and replacing them with a coaxial mounting for either a two shot ATGM launcher or a 70mm rocket pod, both capable of ripping armoured oponents to shreds.

The Howler's expansive troop bay can hold a squad of twelve, accomodate the command functions for an infantry battalion or act as a mobile medical station unit.

Howlers often operate in wolf packs sweeping ahead of infantry advances cleaning up resistance, scouting ahead of large armoured thrusts or screening armour units from air and infantry threats.

The D24A2 is a specialised version of the Howler where the turret has ben replaced by a compact anti-aircraft and search radar package, whist the troop compartment is taken up by reloads for the SAM launcger and the radar tracking quipment. The A2 can provide mobile, lethal anti-aircraft protection for Howler wolfpacks and Jade Guard mechanised units.

These particular vehicle is part of the famed 24th Jade Guard Mechanized Brigade the 'Hanshin Warhawks' which performed exemplary service after the withdrawl from Hanshin, splitting up into roving wolf packs raiding Arixonian supply lines and destroying vital command and infrastructure hubs allowing a major Jade Guard counter thrust to retake the province.

OOC: Well I must say, the descriptions of your firearms are well thought out and detailed. You must have put a lot of thought into creating them.

However, before I buy I don't know how ammunition works in terms of buying. The rounds used in your weapons are not common rounds, therefore Kubra doesn't have them. Would I also have to purchase rights to produce the bullets or could any corporation take the bullets and make them?

OOC:I think I mentioned somewhere in this thread that you get 'official' bullet DPRs after purchasing 20,000 weapons in that caliber (or DPRs to that weapon) or something like that, although generally speaking most of this ammunition (6.7mm in particular) is now so common on NS that it would be definately reasonable to claim you have your own 3rd party manufacturers of the round, much like IRL there are dozens of manufacturers of various types of ammunition (there's gotta be at least 30 companies that make the civilian version of 5.56mm, .223 Rem, likewise with 7.62x39mm, etc.)

OOC:But then there's rounds like the 10x23mm 78x63mm. These rounds are more or less exclusive to your country, so any 3rd party manufacturers would be within or around your country. Nonetheless, you strike up a good point bringing up 3rd parties.
Although I'll be getting official DPRs, since there's a less chance of getting ripped off. Try buying a wireless adaptor in China.

MGM2 Heavy Machinegun

Design History and Overview

The MGM2 is DDI's latest development in heavy machinegun technology. It is a strong departure from the previous MGM machinegun in that its reciever is housed in a polymer body. The goal of the MGM2 was to provide Doomani forces with a heavy machinegun that could be easily deployed by three or even two man teams, and as a result the weapon had to be light. To accomplish this, the weapon incorporates a brand-new reciprocating barrel and bolt group design: this, along with an advanced dual-chambered muzzle break significantly reduces the weapon's recoil, and allows for a much lighter-weight weapon. It also greatly increases the weapon's accuracy, and combined with a magnifying sight, it can double as a long range, rapid fire anti-material weapon.

The weapon is chambered for the heavy-hitting 15.7x100mm cased telescoping cartridge. This is the replacement for the widely used 15.7x131mm cartridge employed by the MGM machinegun. The new cartridge uses a cased telescoping design, making the overall round much shorter and more space effecient, allowing for more ammunition to be carried. The cases are constructed of polymer as well, greatly reducing their weight and contributing to the increased ammunition load.

The weapon features a polymer pistol grip and stock (although the vehicle mounted version, the MGM2V, utilizes spade grips) and is deployed with a specially designed lightweight tripod; the mounting system utilized by the weapon for the tripod can also be used to interface with vehicle mounting systems, and is commonly found in Imperial service being used alongside remote weapons stations. The MGM2C is designed for usage as a coaxial weapon and features no furniture and an electronic trigger. A top-mounted rail system allows for the mounting of a variety of optics as well as other accessories such as laser range finders; however, the weapon also features folding iron sights (with distance settings up to 2500m).

Other mounts for the weapon include a bipod-type mount for employment with infantry; in this configuration, the MGM2 weighs a mere 40kg, theoretically allowing for a single infantryman to carry the (albeit for short distances). Tactically, however, this allows for the MGM2 to be employed extremely effeciently, as the HMG team will be able to move with the infantry, quickly and easily (relatively) deploying to new firing positions as needed. This makes the weapon especially suited to urban warfare, and the lower recoil courtesy of the weapon's design certainly helps things.

Subject: MGM2 Production Rights
_____________________________________________

Dear sir,

Once again, we return our attention and treasury to the Doomingsland Defense Industries for our latest small-arms contract. The DDI-made weapons currently in service with the Cottish armed forces have served extremely favorably, already having earned the love, respect and admiration of the troops after their successful use in three different campaigns and numerous training exercises. This is particularly true for the DR-83M and DR-87 assault rifles.

This time, we wish to place an order for production rights for the MGM2 Heavy Machine Gun chambered for the 15.7x131mm round, which we intend to use as our new primary heavy machine gun on vehicles and for the HMG Sections with the Light Infantry's Weapons Companies. The cost of ten billion Universal Standard Dollars ($10 000 000 000.00) has been wired to your usual account.

We are happy to have yet again conducted business with Doomingsland Defense Industries, and we await your reply.

Pic by Mekugi

Name: Corona
Classification: Anti-Tank Guided Missile
Manufacturer: Imperial Aerospace
Launch Platform: Shoulder-fired
Length: 1200mm
Diameter: 12.5cm
Weight: 13kg (Missile) 9kg (Firing post)
Speed: 300 m/s
Range (Operational): 4000m
Range (Minimum): 50m
Flight Profile: Top Attack/Direct Attack
Warhead: Tandemn HEAT
Penetration: 850mm
Powerplant: Two-stage solid fuel rocket motor (Boost/sustain)
Guidance: Infrared imaging/short wave infrared electro-optical; fiber optic datalink
Fuse: Contact fused
Price: $10,000 (Firing post) $5,500 (Missile)
Notes: Missile comes in a prepacked launch tube and is soft-launched. Launch post consists of thermal night sight and optical day sight (10x magnification), and is capable of being linked to the launcher via a wire if needed to allow for remote launches (multiple wires can be used with the launch post, allowing for multiple missiles to be fired remotely). The shoulder rest also acts as a bipod, folding out and allowing for the shooter to prop the tube up for remote fire. Fiber-optic datalink supplements electro-optical and IIR sensors, allowing for the shooter to update the missile's flight path mid-flight and acquire new targets, also allows for superb accuracy at extended ranges. The missile is also fully capable of fire-and-forget, allowing for the shooter to immediately relocate if needed, and the fire-and-forget mode is fully capable of being initiated mid-flight by the gunner if needed. A tripod is also generally issued with the weapon, allowing for a more stable launch platform. In addition to the ability to destroy targets such as tanks, armored fighting vehicles, and bunkers, Corona is also capable of attacking rotary and fixed wing aircraft flying at low altitude. A vehicle launched version, designated Corona-V, is capable of destroying targets at ranges up to 8000 meters. This variant is generally fired from launch cells, such as those found on the Testudo-III armored personnel carrier or from attack helicopters; a variant of the Corona-V is capable of being fired from a 125mm gun, this version designated Corona-VA.

MAD.IIAM "Thunderhorse" Main Battle Tank (Mod. 1997)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/thundamg.png

Overview

The MAD.II main battle tank entered service with the armed forces of the Res Publica Doomanus in the year 1963 AD, phasing out the ancient MAD medium tank that had remained in service since 1948. The MAD.II was built to take punishment and as a result, many original models still remain in service in many third world countries. The sheer reliability of the design had ensured that even after fifty years of service, they continue to function as originally designed.

Following the Successio Imperatoria in '71 and the installation of a popular militant Catholic theocratic monarchy, the MAD.II design continued to be developed. Shortage of funding following the Successio and in the midst of the Inquisition's excessively bloody Purificatus that followed meant that development of a new tank was out of the question, and the new regime's fanatical policies meant that the aquisition of such a major component of the new Imperial Army from a foreign power was unacceptable. Aside from this, the popular sentiment at the time was that the MAD.II would be able to remain in service for many decades through upgrades. This theory was ultimately proven correct, as sixty-five years later the most modern incarnation of the MAD.II, some of the vehicles using chassis constructed in the sixties and seventies, remains the most numerous tank in Imperial service.

The first major upgrade to the MAD.II came in the form of the MAD.IIP, which came relatively shortly after the Successio in the year 1975. Upgrades included more advanced radio equipment, a more powerful 125mm rifled cannon and an autoloader, a brand new applique armor system, and, perhaps most importantly, modern night vision equipment and laser range finder. The development of explosive reactive armor meant that the next major upgrade to the fleet would come just seven years later in 1982 in the form of the MAD.IIA, which was the first tank in the Imperial Army to incorporate explosive reactive armor. Later production builds of the MAD.IIA, eventually designated the MAD.IIPA, first being fielded in 1989, incorporated a modernized electronics suite including a newer forward looking infrared and global positioning systems, as well as a brand new 125mm smoothbore gun. Newer ERA models were also flielded with the MAD.IIPA, as well as a brand new heavy bolt-on armor kit designed to be applied beneath the ERA, which significantly boosted survivability.

In 1993, what was then by far the most advanced incarnation of the MAD.II arrived: the MAD.IIM. This looked completely alien compared to anything previously fielded by the Exercitus prior to this time, featuring what was considered radical by Doomani tankers and engineers alike: a turret bustle. This allowed for not only greater ammunition storage, but allowed for extremely high survival rates for the crew of the tank in the event of a seperate ammunition compartment featuring blowout panels, as well as a highly advanced autoloader.

The turret was also built from the ground up to incorporate ERA all around (including on the roof), unlike previous models which simply had rails welded to a conventional MAD.II turret for the mounting of the armor, and the latest generation ERA fielded with the MAD.IIM was confirmed to be capable of stopping the latest Questarian kinetic penetrators at the time. This latest turret, decidedly heavier than the original with its turret bustle, also boasted a highly advanced armor composite (mounted over the actual welded steel turret), which was most likely the product of foreign cooperation. This same composite was incorporated in the chassis (the welded steel chassis remained the same with composite plates being welded over it, allowing for old chassis to be fully upgraded). A ring mount for the 15.7mm heavy machinegun was also added, allowing for the commander to engage targets with his machinegun while buttoned up. The threat of the dreaded anti-tank guided missile, by far the most effective weapon against the MAD.II, which relied primarily on its reactive armor for protection, caused for the development of Doomanum's first active protection system, designated AAMDS, which was first deployed on MAD.IIMs begining in 2001.

However, just a few years later in 2005, the completion of the MAD.III project resulted in the MAD.IIM taking a backseat to the newer, more radical tank (featuring an unmanned turret), which quickly phased it out in the elite Exercitus. The MAD.IIM subsequently began filling the armor stockpiles of the markedly more poorly equipped Custos Imperatoria (Imperial Guard), which up until that time had primarily fielded older MAD.IIA and MAD.IIPA MBTs. As it turned out, the MAD.III was a bit too radical for the tastes of the Exercitus and was replaced ten years later by the more conventional MAD.IV Imperator.

Despite it being relegated to the more poorly funded but vastly more numerous Custos, the MAD.II's development did not suffer. The MAD.IIAM was introduced, which sported a heavily modified though similar turret and a 125mm L/52 smoothbore gunand an advanced autoloader which served as the basis for the later MAD.V's autoloader, as well as being equipped with new Asteriox explosive reactive armor.

As a result, when fielded in large numbers, they are capable of posing a serious threat to even the most advanced armored forces. Currently, DDI offers another upgrade to the MAD.IIAM in the form of the application of the Calzado y Bayo CB.125 liquid propellant electro-thermal chemical cannon to the tank's turret in place of its older solid propellant ETC gun. This variant, the MAD.IIAME, boasts superb lethality and the capability to destroy virtually every known main battle tank on the market, as well as improved protection in the form of the new DAV active protection system fielded on the Imperator-II Arx main battle tank.

4M General Purpose Machinegun

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/mgs.png

Overview

The 4M1 medium machinegun is the direct descendent of the 3M medium machinegun series, which originally entered service in 1956, the final weapon designed by Gaius Aelius Maurus before his death in 1960, the famed gun designer responsible for the MGM heavy machinegun and even older Maurus 1895 bolt action rifle among other things. It is a medium-weight, gas operated, air-cooled fully automatic belt-fed weapon firing from the open bolt position, meant for the infantry support role at the platoon level or greater. The weapon can be deployed with either its standard bipod or with a tripod, and is also capable of being utilized with a variety of vehicle mounts including remote weapons stations.

In most respects it is virtually identical to the original 3M machinegun: it features a stamped steel reciever and boasts an extremely simple gas-operated design that is both extremely reliable as well as being easy to mass produce. The weapon also features a highly effective flash suppressor as well as an integral bipod. Both weapons feature excellent iron sights: front post sights combined with rear ladder sights with settings up to fifteen hundred meters. Like Maurus' other automatic weapons, the 3M and 4M feature a very long bolt travel, which allows for the recoil energy to run out gradually, thus greatly decreasing recoil. The design is also notoriously accurate, as reported by soldiers that have used it in the field.

The latest model features an optics rail near the rear of the reciever for the mounting of a variety of scopes that greatly increase the combat effectiveness of the weapon. The most obvious and notable difference is the presence of lighter polymer furniture in place of wood as well as handguards (which can be easily removed if desired as they do add extra weight).

The weapon features a highly modular quick-change barrel system, allowing for an overheated barrel to be quickly swapped out. This also allows for the easy use of different types of barrels: for example, a current favorite of the Exercitus is a jacketed forced air cooling barrel, that is capable of firing six hundred continuous rounds without any danger to the barrel. exchanging the gas tube for a shorter one also allows for the use of an even shorter range of barrels, such as an 18" assault barrel which makes the weapon even more suitable in the light machinegun role.

The 4M machinegun, like the 3M, has a large range of variants: the 4M1 is the standard model, a medium machinegun meant for deployment in the infantry support role. The 4M2 is a coaxial model of the 4M machinegun, featuring an electronic trigger and the necessary mounting systems. The 4M3 is designed for usage with vehicle mounts and as a result features spade grips and a mounting system designed to interface with those found on vehicles. The 4M4 is a slightly modified version of the 4M1 with an adaptor for the mounting of a tripod. Finally, the 4M5 is a specialized light machinegun variant of the 4M, featuring a 18" forced air cooling assault barrel and a new heat shield featuring built in accessory rails.

LGFM and LGFM-II Underbarrel Grenade Launcher

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/dr83stockedy1-1.png
LGFM-83C Weapon System (LGFM paired with older DR-83C)

Overview

The LGFM is an underbarrel breech-loaded 40mm grenade launcher capable of being mounted to any standard piccatiny accessory rail system. The weapon incorporates a pistol grip, an ambidextrous safety, as well as integral sights, which ensure that when attached to a rifle the launcher is already sighted in, making it extremely modular. The weapon's breech, unlike many grenade launcher, swivels to the side (the left in this case), allowing for the use of longer rounds that otherwise could not be used by a pump-action launcher. Indeed, the LGFM is capable of firing the full range of 40x46mm low velocity grenades and 40x53mm high velocity grenades, making it a highly robust system (although the recoil of 40x53mm grenades has made the 40x46mm grenade the preferred round of Imperial Army grenadiers).

The weapon features a double action trigger, meaning that the breech does not need to be cycled again in the event of a missfire and that the operator need only pull the trigger again. A major advantage of the weapon that has lead to its widespread usage in the Imperial Army in place of the SAGL is its light weight: it weighs a mere three-point-five pounds when loaded with thanks to the usage of lightweight, high-strength polymer in the weapon's furniture. The LGFM is also capable of being used as a stand alone weapon system through the addition of a folding buttstock.

A new variant of the LGFM, designated the LGFM-II, designed to be used with the AVIR series of infantry rifles, is also available for export upon request. The LGFM-II features a more streamlined design and, in order to facilitate easier use with the AVIR series of weapons, now lacks the pistol grip. However, it should be noted that both the LGFM and LGFM-II are compatible with the AVIR.

LAC.IV Verutum Rocket Propelled Grenade System

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/RPGepicshade.png

Overview

The LAC.IV is a highly inexpensive yet extremely effective muzzle loaded rocket launcher with a 50mm bore diameter firing rockets with warheads ranging from 90mm to 110mm. It was designed from the ground up to be capable of being operated by a single soldier in order to allow for it to be utilized effectively at the squad level. In order to facilitate this, a two-piece collapsable launch tube is utilized. The rear portion of the tube is constructed of high-strength aircraft grade aluminum, greatly reducing the overall weight of the launcher, while the front portion is constructed of steel. The rear portion also features a blast deflector that helps to reduce the weapon's backblast.

The Verutum's dual pistol grips are capable of being folded back, allowing for an infantryman to easily carry the weapon along side his rifle. In addition, the Verutum boasts a piccatiny rail to allow for the mounting of a variety of combat optics in place of the standard folding iron sights. The Verutum boasts a wide variety of ammunition, including a standard tandem-charge anti-tank round, an extremely lethal fragmentation round, and a brand new tandem-charge dual purpose round, which boasts the capability of blowing through a building's wall and detonating its thermobaric warhead within the target's interior. Rockets are loaded into the LAC.IV by inserting the motor-end into the launch tube all the way and then twisting the warhead into place in a fully secure manner.

Dear sir,

In the recent reorganization of the Army, we have discovered that our current sniper rifle systems are insufficient for our nation's needs, and we therefore wish to order a total of ten thousand DRS-83 Sniper Rifles from our friends in DDI. The majority of the 25 million USD total cost shall be transfered to your accounts, save for [classified] percent, which will be paid in gold bullion directly to Imperator Maximus under armed guard along with a special present from His Majesty as a thank you for the generous hospitality extended to His Majesty during his recent visit to Doomingsland.

VAM.V Praetor Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicle

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/praetor.png

Overview

The VAM.V Praetor is the replacement for the VAM.IV infantry fighting vehicle, boasting vastly superior protection and superior armament. It certainly fits the definition of a heavy IFV, weighing in at nearly sixty tons due to the immense amount of armor sported by the vehicle. In fact, it is essentially a heavily modified variant of the Imperator-II main battle tank, featuring mostly the same hull, albeit modified to an extreme degree. Engineers from Doomingsland Defense Industry took their Imperator MBT and simply turned it around: the vehicle is now front-engined, offering superior protection for the crew and dismounts. The hull was reshaped in areas and optimised to allow for the carrying of a large number of dismounts in a safe and comfortable manner. The crew of three is now seated in a single compartment behind the engine, in front of the dismount compartment.

The Imperator-II's armor package is fully retained with the Praetor, meaning that the vehicle can withstand hits from enemy tanks and will easily be able to brush off hits from weapons that would normally be extremely deadly against an IFV, such as rocket propelled grenades. However, the VAM.V utilizes the latest electronics and other systems taken from the newer Imperator-IIA entering service alongside it, including the new DAV active protection system which boasts the ability to neutralize threats such as ATGMs and RPGs. The reason for such heavy protection is that on the modern battlefield, IFVs face the full spectrum of threats, and as a result require a heavy degree of armor in order to protect them from these threats. Heavy armor on IFVs is a requirement for when engaging in various modern battlefields, especially urban environments.

The VAM.V sports a remote controlled turret equipped with a 57mm CTA electro-thermal chemical hypervelocity chain gun, designated the CETA.57. The CETA.57 was designed with the past experiences of Imperial mechanized forces in mind. It is capable of engaging and destroying the vast majority of infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers fielded by foreign armies, and its large 57mm round and rate of fire (adjustable between two-hundred, three hundred, and four-hundred fifty rounds per minute) make it perfect for use in urban combat against dug-in infantry. Perhaps more importantly, the VAM.V's turret allows for the CETA.57 to elevate at angles up to seventy-degrees, allowing for it to engage targets on the roofs of buildings as well as giving it potential as an anti-aircraft system. The cannon utilizes a dual-feed system allowing for two different types of ammunition to be used, the most popular being armor piercing discarding sabot (APDS) and electronically fused high explosive (EFHE), the later being a ballistically capped high explosive fragmentation round with a modular fuse, capable of being set to burst in midair, to burst on contact, or even to burst after penetration of the target. Other rounds include normal high explosive-incindiery (HE-I) and armor piercing-incindiery (AP-I). The cannon's use of cased telescoping ammunition (CTA) allows for not only a larger amount of ammunition to be stored, but for a smaller cannon all together, making more room for the battery, ammunition, and electronics.

Other armament housed within the Praetor's turret include a 15.7x131mm MGM2C coaxial heavy machinegun, allowing for the vehicle to engage more lightly armored vehicles such as trucks and light armored personnel carriers without having to expend ammunition from the CETA.57, as well as providing the vehicle its primary solution to infantry targets. When faced with enemy main battle tanks, the VAM.V utilizes a four-cell pod for Corona-V anti-tank guided missiles, allowing for it to defeat the armor of virtually every known main battle tank fielded. The VAM.V's turret is also offered as an export upgrade option for foreign armored vehicles in a package designated the Universal Combat Vehicle Turret (UCVT), maintaining the VAM.V's weapons suite as well as its electronics. The electronics architecture is modular, however, and DDI's electronics can easily be swapped out for foreign systems at the customer's request. Finally, the VAM.V maintains a total of six firing ports designed to accomodate the AVIR SR and AVIR IAR rifles.

A variant of the VAM.V, designated the VAML, is designated an armored personnel carrier, serving the role of "battle taxi." It mounts an AVA.I universal remote weapon station (generally sporting a 15.7mm MGM2V standard) in place of the turret, allowing for greater space for dismounts. Rather than nine dismounts, the VAML can carry up to fifteen infantrymen. However, the VAML is not meant to participate in direct combat, and as a result features the Imperator-II's base armor as opposed to the full package as fielded by the VAM.V, making for a lighter overall vehicle. Finally, the VAM.V has a modular design to allow for future upgrades to be easily applied, ensuring that it will be a long-lived design within the respective armies it serves within.

VAM-A Armored Personnel Carrier

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/apc-1.png
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/ifvdesertmb4111-1.png

Overview

The VAM-A is the armored personnel carrier variant of the much heavier Praetor infantry fighting vehicle. Both vehicles utilize the same exact chassis, the main difference between the two in that aspect being the amount of armor applied. The Praetor, which uses what is essentially a heavily modified Imperator-II chassis, maintains the modular armor scheme from that vehicle, and in that form maintains the full level of armor protection. The VAM-A, which was designed as more of a "battle taxi" than infantry fighting vehicle, features only the base armor (although it must be noted that even with only the base armor the VAM-A can withstand a massive amount of punishment), making for a much lighter vehicle. The VAM.V's turret has also been replaced with a much lighter AVA.I remote weapons station (featuring its own forward looking infrared, optical sight, laser range finder, and fire control system), designed to maintain heavy machineguns up to 15.7x131mm (standard export option features an MGM2V) in caliber, and grenade machineguns up to 40x53mm in caliber, or even a dual-cell ATGM pod. The reason for this is to allow greater capacity for dismounts: the VAM.A is capable of carrying 15 fully equipped infantrymen into battle, ensuring that it fits the role of armored personnel carrier perfectly. The VAM-A is also capable of functioning as a medevac vehicle with room for up to six stretchers as well as medical personnel, and several command and control variants (for different force levels and specializations i.e. air defense, artillery, etc.) also exists.

Dear sir,

As you know, we have been awaiting the release of the VAM.V Praetor heavy infantry fighting vehicle for some time now, and we are pleased that it has been released at long last. Therefore, without much further delay, we wish to place an order for one hundred and sixty-five thousand (165 000) VAM.V Praetor IFVs for the Royal Cottish Army.

We wish for the vehicles to be delivered as quickly as possible, and would therefore like to offer a bonus of forty-five billion USD if the vehicle order can be completely delivered within five years. We would like for the vehicles to be painted in our normal livery (see appendix 1) upon delivery.

The total cost of $1 155 billion shall be wired to Doomingsland Defense Industries' normal bank account as soon as this order is completed. If Doomingsland Defense Industries manage to deliver all vehicles in the time specified (5 years) and they are accepted by our quality control teams, the bonus of $45 billion will be wired at that time, making the grand total sum even out at 1 200 billion USD.

We thank you once again for the continued good service extended to the Realm, and hope that our military needs shall take us to Doomingsland Defense Industries again in the immediate future.

VAM.AC Perditor Tank Destroyer

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/tankdestroyer.png

Overview

The VAM.AC Perditor is the tank destroyer variant of the VAM.A armored personnel carrier. In place of the AVA.I remote weapon station is a four-slot remote arm launcher designed to utilize the Corona-V anti-tank guided missile. The Perditor's launcher system is built around a center unit which contains an advanced dual electro-optical/thermal imaging sight as well as an optical sight. These are combined with a laser range finder to allow for the Perditor to easily detect, track, and engage enemy targets. Utilizing the Corona-V ATGM, up to four targets can be engaged simultaneously inside two point five kilometers utilizing fire and forget, with the vehicle having the capability to engage individual targets up to eight kilometers away thanks to the Corona-V's fiber-optic mid course update system.

The Perditor's arm launcher operates on a similar principal to navalized arm launchers, using an autloader system that is reminiscent of many naval arm launching systems. Following the spending of the vehicle's four ready-to-fire missiles, the four spent launch tubes (the Perditor's missiles are stored in prepacked launch tubes) are ejected and the arm mechanism rotated ninety degrees. An autoloader system directly beneath the turret ring would have by then grabbed four fresh rounds from the vehicle's magazine (in place of the passenger compartment) and rotated them ninety degrees. The autoloader would then ram the rounds upwards into the launcher, where they would lock into place, ready to fire. The Perditor is capable of replenishing its launcher within five seconds of expending the last ready-to-fire round.

MAD-U Rhino Urban Combat Vehicle/Tank Support Vehicle

http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5182/newthingwood1kb6.png
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/6153/newthingdesert1tp7.png

Overview

The Exercitus' is an organization with more experience in modern urban combat than the majority of the world's militaries. As a result, it should come as no surprise that the Exercitus commissioned a vehicle designed to incorporate all that had been learned from such combat. Three things were required of a vehicle in order to perform as the Exercitus required in an urban conflict: armor, firepower, and mobility. Armor and firepower, in an urban conflict, are perhaps more important given that the sort of terrain being fought over limits the mobility of armored vehicles as it is, and as such these things came first and foremost.

Creating the Rhino was not a terribly difficult task for DDI engineers, as they already had an excellent platform to work with: the Imperator-II main battle tank. Like most front-line armored vehicles in Doomani service, the Rhino is based off of the versitile Imperator-II chassis. A good twenty-plus tons of applique armor and explosive reactive armor were piled onto the Rhino to bolster its already significant protection: Asteriox heavy ERA is mounted to the front, sides, and top of the chassis on top of extra bolt-on and weld-on ceramic and composite plates to render the Rhino excellent protection against both top-attack anti-tank weaponry as well as giving it superb protection when attacked from the side. Slat armor was applied over the engine compartment to further protect that area from rocket propelled grenades. The bottom of the hull was also significantly reinforced to protect from mines and IEDs. Other protection comes in the form of the DAV active protection system, which allows threats such as RPGs and ATGMs to be neutralized before they impact the vehicle. The DAV's 57mm grenade launchers also double as a close-range anti-personnel weapon in the event the Rhino finds itself surrounded by hostile infantry.

In terms of armament, the Rhino boasts a level of firepower than few other vehicles can even come close to maintaining. The unmanned turret mounts a pair of battle-tested 57mm CETA.57 electro-thermal chemical chainguns, each capable of firing at a rate of up to 450 rounds per minute each, making for a total of 900 rounds of 57mm CTA going downrange per mintue. This is an armament package ideal for engaging fortified structures occupied by enemy personnel, and because the turret was designed to allow for its armament to elevate at angles up to 75 degrees, its twin autocannons are capable of sweeping occupied high rises of enemy troops. Mounted alongside these autocannons are a single 7.8x63mm MCS seven-barreled minigun, capable of a cyclic rate of fire of 4,200 rounds per minute. This stream of lead makes it the ultimate anti-personnel weapon, and when utilized in urban combat in tandem with the twin CETA.57s creates an extremely fearsome combination capable of engaging a wide variety of targets, ranging from infantry fighting vehicles to fortified structures to enemy personnel, and even low-flying aircraft. However, when faced with more heavily armored targets such as main battle tanks, the Rhino sports quad Corona anti-tank guided missile tubes, two mounted on either side of the turret. A new variant of the Corona, the Corona-U, designed specifically for destroying fortifications and buildings with its tandem high explosive/thermobaric warhead, is also compatable with the launch tubes and fire control system.

In addition to these weapon systems, the Rhino mounts a pair of 4M2 general purpose machineguns: one of the MGs is mounted alongside the commander's periscope and laser range finder (the MG mount featuring its own fire control system to take advantage of the laser range finder), allowing for him to immediately engage any targets he spots that do not require the use of the minigun or the autocannons, allowing for multiple targets to be engaged at once. The other 4M2 is fitted to a powered mount on the driver's hatch alongside a laser range finder (allowing the weapon to be interfaced with the mount's fire control system) and slaved to his helmet-mounted HUD system (which allows for him to easily view the outside world through a bank of digital cameras and spot targets), allowing for him to engage enemy targets simply by looking at them while performing his duties as the vehicle's driver. As if that weren't enough, the Rhino mounts a pair of 33x53mm ATER grenade machineguns in two seperate weapon stations in the hull, remotely operated by two extra gunners. Both grenade launchers have their own thermal and optical viewers, laser range finders, and fire control systems, which allow for specialized 40mm airbursting ammunition to be used with the launchers, vastly increasing lethality. Aquiring targets is made even easier when sensors fielded by the DAV active protection system are factored in: over a dozen infrared cameras dot the exterior of the tank providing a full 360 degree view. These cameras are tied to a CPU which process visual information, such as movement of personnel and muzzle flashes, as well as incoming rounds, and cues the crew visually in regards to incoming weapons fire. This allows for the crew to know where enemy fire is coming from within seconds, if not instantaneously, making the very act of shooting at Rhino a very dangerous task.

It should also be noted that the Rhino can be used for tasks other than urban decimation: the Exercitus is experimentally Rhinos alongside Imperator-II Arx platoons to serve as a 'tank support vehicle', meant to engage secondary targets such as light vehicles and infantry while the tanks deal with high value threats such as MBTs.

Dear sir,

The Royal Cottish Army is currently experimenting with the establishment of a number of what is preliminarily called "Urban Warfare Battalions", and we are in the need for a dedicated urban combat vehicle. Therefore, the release of your new MAD-U "Rhino" Urban Combat Vehicle/Tank Support Vehicle was perfectly timed. The Realm wishes to waste no further time, and hereby place an order for 1 000 vehicles with an option to procure an additional 5 000 vehicles at a later date. The total cost of nine billion has been wired to your accounts upon the receipt of a confirmation of this order.

Classification Levels

Standard: Standard classification is the normal level of encryption. It is equivalent to the standard levels of encryption seen on most secure e-mail clients.

Confidential: Confidential classification is a higher level of encryption than "Standard" but it is not heavily encrypted. It is used mostly for flash traffic to foreign countries and requires some additional decoding time. It uses 512-bit RSA encryption methods and has several key ciphers that change unpredictably.

Secure: Secure communiques use 1024-bit RSA encryption and several key ciphers within them that change unpredictably to ensure that message traffic is not hacked or decoded. Access to said messages would require heavy cracking software and significant resources but it is not "uncrackable." It can be a viable level through 2010.

Encrypted: Encrypted classification is the second highest level of classification. It is uses 2048-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers within it to ensure that cracking it would take such a significant amount of time to accomplish that, should it be done, the message's usefulness would have already expired. Though anything is crackable, because of the methods employed, this level is often considered "uncrackable" by current capabilities. To ensure revolving protecting, ciphers and encryption algorithms will change unpredictably. This level is sufficient until 2030.

Maximum: Maximum classification is the highest level of classification available. It uses 3072-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It can provide protection past 2030.

Experimental: Currently not a fully recognized level, experimental denotes a category using 15360-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It is not in full operational use as of yet.

The Layartebian Defense Corporation, due to an accounting error, has ordered too few Rhino urban combat vehicles. We wish to purchase an additional seventeen hundred and two vehicles at a cost of $15,318,000,000.00. We apologize for this error and we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that it never happens again. This will bring the Imperial Layartebian Military's inventory of M2060A1 Buzzsaws to five thousand, six hundred, and forty-one.

The Layartebian Defense Corporation wishes to inquire about the possibility of a dedicated anti-air version of the Rhino. With its current systems and its capabilities, we believe that it could be turned into a potent point-defense vehicle with surface-to-air missiles and excellent gun armament possibly using a Ghast principle gun. The Layartebian Defense Corporation wishes to inquire about whether or not this is an option for the DDI and, if so, we wish to collaborate on such a product.

The name that came to mind was Doomingsland Defense Industries. As such, we would like to enquire about replacing our current fleet of IFV/ACPs with VAM.V Praetor Heavy Infantry Fighting Vehicles. It is not exactly a common occurrence for the chancellor of Her Majesty the Queen to personally draft and sign an ordinary order of weaponry, however I believe a sign of our gratitude is in order. As I write I am surrounded by the buzz of Doomani aircraft as crates of ACOM rifles drop from the sky, with Hryvatian children running towards the fallen parachutes to retrieve their new toys. Our enemies flee across their borders and heretic separatists are silenced by the crackle of our gunfire; if it was not for the most honourable Imperator this dream would never have come true.

I must now, eagerly I might add, await a shipment of your finest anti-armour weaponry, with which we shall tear holes in the tanks of the heathen Orthodox aggressors that plague our borders:

LAC.V Spiculum

[15,000] x [Launcher (w/out OA.CVI)] = [13,500,000 USD]
[75,000] x [S.I] = [13,500,000 USD]
[75,000] x [S.II] = [5,250,000 USD]
[75,000] x[S.III] = [7,500,000 USD]

Corona ATGM

[2,500] x [Firing Post] = [25,000,000 USD]
[12,500] x [ATGM] = [68,750,000 USD]

Total
111,000,000.00 USD
One hundred and eleven million Universal Standard Dollars
Wired upon confirmation.

OOC: Since I've decided to throw out my capped population and start RPing with my official pop of around a billion, I'll be needing some equipment.

- 3,000,000 LAC.IV Verutums = $450 million
- 5,000,000 LGFM.IIs = $25 billion
- 600,000 LAC.V Spiculums w/ OA.CVI = $312 million

Total Cost: $25.76 billion

If possible, we would be interested in obtaining DPRs for all LAC.IV and V ammunitions.

The money will be wired upon confirmation.

Extrarius Res Defero

To: Doomingsland Defense Industries
From: Mr. White, foreign affairs office, Dominion of Emperor Pudu XLII

The Dominion has of late noticed a broad gap in the service of her three main front-line armored vehicles, namely, the LV-08 light wheeled vehicle, the SIV-25 tracked infantry fighting vehicle and the Amba wheeled armored personnel carrier. The former serves impeccably without exception in it's role, while the latter two divide the duties of troop transport and support vehicle, and both preform more than admirably. However, there has been recognized a need for the Imperial Army and related ground warfare services to adopt a light, fast, although well-armored fighting vehicle capable of offering support in engaging targets falling anywhere between the individual soldier; which is the concern of the Pudite soldiers, and the heavier armored targets such as tanks, which are the concern of the Pudite armor and anti-armor services.

This vehicle has been evaluated, and, deeming the 23mm main armament sufficient to effect direct and valuable fire support, and noting the formidable speed and armor available to protect the vehicle, the VAE has been found an excellent addition to the armory of our Emperor Pudu XLII. Also noting the origin and design of the engine, specifically, it's designers at Dat' Pizdy Arms, the Dominion will find it quite efficient to resupply, for Dat' Pizdy armaments make up the vast bulk of Pudite equipment.

Therefore, in seeing the great potential your own VAE Multipurpose Armored Car has in filling our gap, the Dominion has decided to seek the procurement of enough of these vehicles to replace the older SIV-25's in infantry direct support where that is there sole duty, as well as expanding this new vehicle to serve in lighter infantry regiments as their first infantry support vehicle.

To do so, first, the Imperial Army will to place an order for the production and delivery of five-hundred and eleven-thousand and five hundred (511,500) vehicles.

Furthermore, the Imperial Air Force will place an order for the production and delivery of two-thousand four-hundred (2,400) vehicles.

Furthermore, the Imperial Navy will place an order for the production and delivery of sixty-thousand (60,000) vehicles.

Furthermore, the Imperial Praetorian Guard will place an order for the production and delivery of one-hundred and twenty-six thousand, four-hundred (126,400) vehicles.

Furthermore, the Imperial Foreign Relations Office will place an order for the production and delivery of two-thousand (2,000) vehicles.

With the orders of all parties totaled, a grand sum of eight-hundred and forty-two point seven-six billion Universal Standard Dollars emerges. This sum will be paid in full upon completion of the requested orders.

Should the production facilities available to DDI prove overwhelmed or otherwise inconvenienced by this rather prodigious number of vehicles, the domestic production facilities of the Dominion are offered as an alternative, provided DDI engineers and supervisors make themselves available to oversee the whole of the proceeding, to an extent determined by yourselves.

In any case, the Dominion thanks you for your assistance in meeting this requirement in a fast and efficient manner.

Good day,
Mr. White
