Doomingsland Defense Industries is proud to announce that the DR-83.II and DR-83 have collectively replaced with the DR-83M in our product line. The DR-83M features a high-strength polymer stock, capable of being adjusted for length, height, while maintaining the ability to be folded, allowing the shooter to custom tailor the weapon to suit his or her needs. All DR-87 and DR-83.IIB (henceforth to be remarketed as the DR-83ML) rifles to be manufactured following this announcement will also feature this brand new stock. Conversion kits are also available for a bargain price of only $150!

Friday, June 15th-

Doomingsland Defense Industries is proud to announce that it will begin exporting surplus Imperial Army DR-83 rifles in bulk at a price of $1,500 per crate of six rifles. This is a giveaway price considering that the rifles are in virtual mint condition. With old stores of Imperial Army DR-83s being discovered and purchased on an almost weekly basis by DDI in various places (including the Imperium Doomanum and Haven), it is estimated that there is an almost indistinguishable amount of surplus rifles available.

FSG Sniper Rifle

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/drs842yr11.png

Pic by MassPwnage

Design History and Overview

The FSG is a bolt-action bullpup sniper rifle chambered for the 8.8x77mm cartridge. It is designed first and foremost to be a tool of long range precision killing, and is designed to be as accurate and reliable as possible. It is precision manufactured at Elysium Armory.

Overall Design

The FSG is a sniping rifle, and therefore built from the ground up with accuracy in mind. As such, Elysium Armory made several key decisions affecting this. Number one, the FSG was to be a bullpup weapon. This allowed for a longer barrel in a shorter overall package. This barrel, in turn, is free floated except for the first few inches. The highest quality materials were used in the construction of this weapon in order to positively affect accuracy, as well.

The barrel, thirty-one inches long for the standard model (although the barrel is interchangeable) is constructed of drop forged, cryo-tempered 4150 chrome-molybdenum steel. The barrel is threaded allowing for various accessories to be affixed, although it comes issued with a dual-chambered muzzle brake, which reduces felt recoil and muzzle flash. The receiver itself, housed within the steel-reinforced polymer stock (more on that later on in the description) is machined out of sturdy 4140 steel, producing the highest possible quality final product, making for a near-indestructible weapon. Machined onto the top of the receiver is a standard Imperial accessory rail, allowing for a scope to be mounted.

The machined trigger group and magazine well are constructed of forged aluminum, with the trigger having a very light and smooth pull. This allows for the shooter to squeeze off a round with minimal effect on accuracy. The FSG accepts a steel eight-round detachable magazine. The weapon's safety is a three-position lever found on the top of the receiver.

The weapon itself was put through some of the most brutal quality tests (including the infamous 25,000 round torture test) in order to be accepted into service with the Exercitus and thus the weapon's design reflects the military's obsession with reliability. The bolt body is covered with shallow fluting to allow space for debris to accumulate without jamming the bolt in the raceway.

The bolt is able to close even with dirt, mud or sand lodged between the bolt face and barrel thanks to a relief grove cut into the back of the barrel. This allows for the weapon to be used in the worst possible conditions, an absolute necessity for an Imperial scout-sniper. It uses a three-lug locking design, similar to the Accuracy International L-96 sniper rifle. This allows the bolt to unlock on a 60 degree throw, and with its enlarged, ergonomically designed handle and ultra-smooth operation, makes for a very quick cycling bolt. The weapon features a strong, lightweight titanium hammer, further improving accuracy. The recoil spring is made of an aircraft grade nickel-titanium composite.

All of this is housed in the FSG's ultra-sturdy synthetic stock. The stock is of thumbhole design with a checkered grip and fore end. It is constructed of a high-strength polymer-Spectra composite permanently bonded with stainless steel inserts, creating what Elysium Armory feels to be one of the strongest polymer stocks on the market. The stock itself is highly ergonomical, designed for the comfort of the shooter in addition to its own strength. A rubber pad with inbuilt springs is fitted to the stock to aid in absorbing recoil. The action and first few inches of the barrel are epoxy bedded for extra stability, while the rest of barrel floats freely.

The FSG comes equipped with the highest-possible quality bipod available. It is mounted via a quick detachable fitting which is integrated with the fore end of the weapon. The bipod can be supported on uneven surfaces thanks to the five degree left and right cant build into it. Each leg of the bipod is capable of being adjusted for height and feature built in springs, which act as shock absorbers. A ball joint mounted on the bipod allows for the weapon to adjust while stationary, allowing for easier engagement of targets on the move. A lever near the ball joint allows adjustment for stiffness, making for more stable firing as necessary.

Optics

When crafting their rifle, Elysium Armory realized that virtually nothing they had in their hands in terms of optics would be able to suit their needs when it came to the disgusting amount of accuracy generated from their rifle. Thus, Pwnage Ordnance, a business partner of Doomingsland Defense Industries in several ventures, generously volunteered to build a brand new glass from the ground up for the FSG

The SDSV-33 is the ultimate expression of Pwnage precision optics. Finely crafted, with laser ground lenses and high performance electronics, the SDSV-33 allows shooters to take full advantage of the FSG sniper rifle's accuracy, allowing shooting at all distances and in all conditions.

The glass used in the scope is Level 2 scratchproof, normally reserved for high powered microscopes and the finest cameras. To protect the glass from bits of dust, water and mud, the surface of the outside lens is coated with titanium dioxide, which causes contaminants to slough off more easily. Also, due to the quality of the glass, very little light is reflected off of the scope, making it more difficult for a sniper to give away his/her position.

The SDSV-33 can automatically shift between American and European crosshair placement. In the American placement, the crosshair remains the same size at all levels of magnification, thus, the reticle only obscures a tiny portion of the target in long range shots. The European placement has the reticle cover the same proportion of the target at all magnifications making it easier to estimate distance using mil dots.

The charged coupling device inside the scope can detect visible light, light in the infrared spectrum and some ultraviolet light. The scope can either automatically change the color and size of the reticle judging by outside lighting/target conditions, or the shooter can manually adjust it. The scope's electronics have been waterproofed to 150m. Crosshair styles include illuminated mil-dot, standard mil-dot, red dot and v-sights.

At night or in low light conditions, the shooter can select between multiband IR or light amplification modes. The shooter can adjust for range, windage and parallax via the knobs on the scope housing. The shooter can go through the entire minute of adjustment range in two turns of the knob. The scope's electronics can also handle adjustments for range, windage, and mirage much faster than a human can.

The scope can download and record video, allowing the sniper to act as a forward observer. Combat USB 3.0 ports are included for uplink with transmission devices and laser rangefinders. The SDSV-33 runs on rechargeable lithium ion batteries, although the scope will still work to a limited extent even if the batteries are dead.

The scope housing is made out of durable, incredibly hard wearing high impact plastics. In tests, we have run over the SDSV-33 with an 18 wheeler, dropped it from 15m, dragged it through mud, hit it with a sledgehammer repeatedly and subjected it to extremes of temperature. Occasionally, the lenses cracked (but were still usable to some extent), however, the scope housing stood up to all the vicious punishment we could throw at it. The scope lens covers are made from the same aluminum oxynitride blocks used to guard tank optics, and are scratchproof, with very little glare. Part of the durability testing was that this scope be mounted on a 15.5mm machine gun. The scope remained stable despite the intense recoil of the heavy machine gun.

The scope is designed to be mounted on any M1913 RIS. PLEASE DON'T BE A HICK AND ATTACH THIS THING TO A HANDGUN.

A simplified version, without the ability to record video and with only passive IR detection is available and costs $2,000 less.

Cartridge

While the FSG is to be manufactured in a variety of chamberings to appease the foreign market, its primary round, the round it was designed for, is the new 7.8x77mm cartridge. This large round is designed from the ground up for accurate long-range killing of targets, delivering a 300 grain projectile at extremely high velocities even when used against distant targets. The round itself is streamlined and has a ballistic coeffecient of .448.

The current load in use with Imperial snipers is a three-hundred grain projectile driven out of the barrel at roughly 3,100 feet per second. This brutal round drives into the target at an unbelievable 5,900 foot pounds of force, allowing for it to easily penetrate armored soldiers at ranges exceeding one thousand meters.

However, we are not familiar with the use of the 6.7x53mm Imperial round that is used, and we are therefore wondering if it is possible for the rifle to be modified to fire the 6.8x51mm LDC round that is currently the primary rifle round employed by the Royal Cottish Military. Should this be possible, we wish to purchase a total of 20,000 (twenty thousand) DR-87 ASOC rifles chambered in 6.8x51mm LDC.

We have calculated the cost of the rifles to come to $32,000,000 (thirty-two million USD), which will be wired to your account upon confirmation of this order. Of course, we realize that the retrofitting to accept a new round may be costly, so we shall also cover that expense. Please inform us of the development costs, and we shall wire the sum to your accounts.

We await your response with great anticipation.

Sincerely,

Viseadmiral Ørjan Bakke

Sir,

Regarding your inquery in regards to the rechambering of the DR-87, we are pleased to inform you that such an arrangement, in this case, is possible. While normally we are very hesitant to rechamber our products for foreign calibers, we have taken into account the Realm's previous patronage to Doomingsland Defense Industries as well as the fact that the 6.8x51mm cartridge is similar enough to the 6.7x53mm cartridge to facilitate the rechambering of the weapon.

Thus, provided there are no unforseen complications with research and development, Doomingsland Defense Industries will be able to provide the Royal Cottish Government with their first shipment of ASOC rifles within two months. An additional R&D fee of two million USD will be added to the order, bringing the total to thirty-three million USD.

Thank you for choosing Doomingsland Defense Industries.

ACU-41A Semi-Automatic Grenade Launcher (SAGL)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/doomingslandglpn31.png

Pic by MP...as usual

Design History and Overview

The ACU-41A Semi-Automatic Grenade Launcher (SAGL) was designed as a replacement to the vastly more complex ACU-352 grenade launcher. This weapon is designed to interface with the DR-83 Tactical Rifle in a similar manner as the old XM-29 concept weapon. The weapon was designed with two things in mind: reliability and killing power. It successfully delivers with both.

Rather than using the 30mm caseless round found on previous generation Imperial grenade launchers, the ACU-41A instead up's the ante, moving towards the more lethal 40mm round. This round is designed to completely replace the older, weaker rounds in their role in the Imperial military.

The reason for this was a combination of inferior killing power coupled with the unreliability of the delivery system. Imperial grenadiers repeatedly found the 30mm caseless round lacking in killing power, and didn't quite like the fact that their grenade launcher required a battery to operate. Their greivences did not go unanswered for long.

The Imperial High Command, always looking to meet the needs of the infantry, commisioned a design with Doomingsland Defense Industries for a brand new grenade launcher to be used with the DR-83 series of weapons. This weapon was to be of superior power and reliability, while still maintaining the ability to interface with advanced electronic systems. The result was the ACU-41 SAGL, the latest system in the constant evolution of Imperial infantry weapons.

Overall Design

The ACU-41 is a unique weapon in the arsenal of the Empire. It is one of the few bullpup weapons in service. This is for good reason. The bullpup configuration allowed for a longer barrel to be fitted, thus allowing for a higher velocity and greater accuracy. It also allowed for the weapon to be fitted with a magazine without becoming totally unwieldy.

An underbarrel grenade launcher with a magazine was completely out of the question when the ACU-41's design team began working on concepts. To aid in the overall compactness of the weapon and allow for an overall more streamlined system, DDI decided to use a revolver-type setup. This is expanding on previous such weapons and effectively bringing it to the next level.

Based off of similar revolver grenade launchers, the ACU-41 uses a clockwork spring to rotate the cylanders after firing (which is wound during the reloading of the weapon). When reloading, the cylander swings out to the right side, allowing for fresh rounds to be fed into the chambers, also allowing the shooter access to the winding mechanism for the clockwork spring. The ammunition can either be loaded individualy or through the use of half-moon clips, allowing for the weapon to be reloaded quickly and easily.

The weapon interfaces with the DR-83 in a rather unconventional manner: rather then a simple underbarrel design, the barrel of the ACU-41 is mounted along the top rail of the DR-83 (this portion of the system is designed to have as low a profile as possible in relation to the DR-83 in order to allow for ease of use); the buttstock of the DR-83, in turn, is removed, and the action and stock of the ACU-41 loaded in place. The DR-83's handguards are also replaced with the ACU-41's own integrated handguards, which feature an inbuilt forward pistol grip along with the weapon's trigger mechanism. This allows for a superbly integrated weapon system, allowing for a grenadier to totally saturate an enemy position with grenades, or engage enemy infantry with precision fire from his DR-83 rifle, all without having to stow one of his weapons and withdraw another.

The weapon features an integrated rail system mounted along the top and on either side, allowing for a wide array of accessories and scopes to be mounted. Iron sights are also mounted as a standard, meaning a scope is not required.

With the use of such a powerfull round in a bullpup configuration, recoil becomes an issue. The ACU-41 deals with this by making use of a muzzle brake, fitted to the weapon's muzzle. This drastically reduces felt recoil and muzzle climb. In addition to this, a rubber recoil-absorbant butt pad is fitted to the weapon's collapsable stock. This pad features inbuilt springs to cusion the shooter from the recoil of both the grenade launcher and the rifle.

The entire system is designed to be as light as possible while being highly durable; the weapon is built off of a high-strength, lightweight polymer frame. The cylander is constructed of stainless steel, given a blued finish, while the barrel is constructed of 4150 chrome molybdenum steel.

Cartridge

The ACU-41 makes use of a 40x55mm grenade. This is an improvement over previous 30mm designs in terms of killing power, although range is somewhat sacrificed. This was seen as nessessary by the High Command. The 30mm round previously used was more or less left over from the days of the High Explosive Air Bursting fad that gripped the world. It was seen that a high velocity grenade launcher, other than having superior range, wasn't nearly as effective as a normal low-velocity grenade launcher in the modern Imperial infantry squad.

However, compared to foreign 40mm grenade rounds, the 40x55mm grenade is a much higher velocity weapon, ensuring superior performance when engaging area targets at range, and superior accuracy when engaging point targets.

The ACU-41 can use a variety of rounds, ranging from standard 40mm high explosive, to 40mm high explosive dual-purpose to allow for the weapon to be employed against bunkers. A 40mm HEAT round is available for use against light armor. Also entering service is a 40mm thermobaric round, primarily used in urban scenarios.

The Armed Republic would like to procure Domestic Production Rights for the DR-87 Adv. SpecOp. Carbine (ASOC), as well as the Semi-Automatic Grenade Launcher attachment for the DR-83.II. Payment will be in bullion and conflict diamonds, as usual.

In addition, we would like to outfit the 22 some-odd Death's Head Battalion snipers with the DRS-84 Sniper Rifle. We would like to issue two (2) rifles to each sniper, in the event of malfunction/destruction of the ordinance, which is entirely possible given the nature of the Death's Head. This would come to 1,200 rifles.

We would also like to procure an additional 900 for various special armories, doomsday bunkers, gifts to high-ranking government personnel, etc.

If possible we would like to outfit the snipers of our ranger divisions (i.e. half of our air assault divisions) with the DRS-84. These would replace the Pale Rider Arms M220 8x60 sniper rifle currently in use, and 31,104 rifles would need to be outfitted. We realize that these men may not necessarily qualify for the scout-sniper role that the rifle was designed for.

We would like all rifles to come with the most advanced scope possible.

Please get back to us.

The DR-83.IIB in its current form is perfectly suited as a squad marksman weapon; in fact, the Imperial Army does issue them on this basis in many units, mounting a DDI bipod to the lower rail along with an Oculus OS.VII sniper scope featuring 10x magnification.

This scope is built to be rugged, featuring sturdy steel construction and clear, flip-up covers. This allows for the sight's optics (standard mildot) to be protected while the shooter is using it. It also features a thermal filter, allowing for it to engage targets in low light environments. Doomingsland Defense Industries is currently preparing to open an 'Optics' section of the storefront where scopes such as this will be retailed, allowing for the customer to purchase whichever scope they desire. In this case, we will be willing to sell this particular scope model to the Aurum Dormus Marine Corps for a total of $1,200 per scope.

Performance Evaluation on the DDI DR-83 ‘M-25’ in TPF Service

Committee Members:
General Mandoth
Major Quigley
Lord General Guderian
Sergeant Alex
Captain Springfield
Private First Class Jameson

Performance in Varied Weather Conditions
The Committee members have traveled and talked to various divisions deployed globally in various climate conditions. The Committee members have found the M-25 to be above adequate in all theatres. Included are some statements by Soldiers and Marines.

“I tripped in the desert and got sand all in my rifle, I shook it a little and pulled the trigger, it fired.” Private James Jacobs, 131st Infantry, deployed in TPF deserts

“The M-25 is a superb weapon, there is none greater. I went in water with the weapon and it still fired!” – Captain Goldsmith, deployed in Jungles, 13th Infantry

“In training exercises in the Artic, my M-25 fired in and around 5,000 rounds of ammunition with no jams. It works excellent even with sub-zero climate.”- Sergeant Mickelson, 18th Artic Warfare Group, deployed in Artic climate.

Lethality
Committee members have used the M-25 themselves and some have killed with it. We spoke to numerous divisions about the M-25’s lethality and they all agreed that no service rifle was better.

“There was this one dude wearing body armor, firing an AK at us. My friend put a 9mm in him, but nothing happened. I dropped him with a 2-round burst. That fucking round is lethal.” – Corporal Reinhold,

“An enemy was shooting at us from another rooftop. It was easily 600 meters away. I took my M-25 and looked into the 4x scope, and took him out with a shot. This gun has amazing accuracy and range.” Private Washington

“I sprayed my M-25 full auto into a bunch of men. It still had a lot of recoil but I was able to keep it under control and end him.” Specialist Ironclock

“I was clearing out a house when two insurgents popped out, I took them down in a couple of bursts. The 6.7mm blended rounds creating horrific wounds. Just by looking at them you knew they were dead.”- Private Nelson

“ The rounds in the weapon, combined with the high FPS, can destroy almost enemy body armor, my men have no complaints with the deadliness of this weapon. Some of my men have even given it the colorful nickname, “Angel of Death”” – Major General Robinson, division commander

Accuracy
Committee members have found the M-25 to be superbly accurate in firing ranges and combat situations. Discussions with Soldiers and Marines make it a fact.

“I can regularly engage enemy’s at 500 meters or more with the scope. As long as I aim correctly, the bullet hits.” – Lance Corporal Dimson

“At the firing range, I am repeatedly impressed by this rifle, the groupings are superb, and the recruits have no problems learning how to use it.” -Drill Instructor Reilly.

“ The M-25’s Iron sights are incredible, they are amazingly accurate and are workable in almost any weather condition, as well as day or night.” - Gunnery Sergeant Hal

Ergonomics and Reliability
The M-25 is superbly reliable, Committee members found very few malfunctions when talking to the men. The Soldiers and Marines also had very few complaints when dealing with Ergonomics, and with the new stock, must of these vanish.

“ I’ve been humping my M-25 and shooting for a couple of months now, with not even a single jam.” – Sergeant Moore

“I haven’t seen a more reliable rifle in all my years in the service; it probably beats out the AK-47.” – Quartermaster Mulock

“It’s just damn nice to shoot. Ultra-smooth trigger, cheek rest, rubber butt, it just feels nice.” Lord General Guderian

“ It [M-25] fits nicely into the back of our Wolf IFV’s, it’s not bulky like our old rifle’s. – Corporal Belcher

Conclusion
The Committee finds the DR-83 to be a superior weapon to all other in the market. It surpasses the grade on everything, and will remain TPF’s primary service rifle for the known future. We are extremely pleased with this rifle and thank DDI for sharing it with the world.

Final Grades:
Weather: 9/10
Lethality: 10/10
Accuracy: 10/10
Ergonomics and Reliability: 9/10

Subject: Yet another possible purchase
_____________________________________________

Dear sir,

First off, I'd like to convey how pleased the Cottish special forces community is with the modified DR-87 ASOCs that are currently in service. The weapon has proved itself to be quite exceptional and perfect for the purposes the Cottish special forces need to use them in, without dwelwing further into that classified subject.

With the positive experience with DDI, we wish to return for a greater purchase of various weapons. This time, we would like for the weapons to be chambered in their original rounds (6.7x53mm Imperial), as we believe that this will give our forces even better accuracy and lethality.

For starters, we wish to adopt the TDX .40 Caliber sidearm as our standard issue sidearm for all branches of the Royal Cottish Military. We have experience with the 10x23mm (.40 S&W) round which is similar to the 10x23mm DDI round, and we wish to adopt this round size as our standard sidearm round instead of the variety of rounds currently in service. We wish to purchase a grand total of ten million (10,000,000) units of the TDX .40 Caliber, and issue it the designation L129A1 TDX in Cottish service. We also wish to aquire domestic production rights for the .40 DDI rounds, more specifically the Full Metal Jacket (FMJ), the Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP), and the Armor Piercing Fragmentating Jacket (APFJ) rounds, and silencers that are compatable with this weapon. We shall require a total of five hundred thousand (500,000) silencers.

Next, we wish to aquire more standard weapons for the Royal Marines. This elite force of naval infantry is tasked with storming the beaches and establishing bridgeheads, and is therefore required to have the best and most deadly weapons available to them. We therefore wish to purchase a grand total of two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) units of the DR-83ML Tactical Rifle, which are to be designated as the L130A2 Tactical Rifle in Cottish service; one million seven hundred fifty thousand (1,750,000) units of the DR-83M 21st Century Tactical Rifle, which will be designated L130A1 Tactical Rifle in Cottish service; five hundred thousand (500,000) units of the DMG-83 Squad Automatic Rifle/Light Machinegun, which will be designated L131 Squad Machine Gun in Cottish service; and finally for our Special Forces community, the DR-87 Advanced Special Applications Rifle (ASOC) chambered in 6.7x53mm Imperial. We shall require a total of twenty-five thousand (25,000) units of this weapon, to supplement the rifles already in service.

We also wonder if you currently have for sale tactical sights and accessories that will enhance the efficiency of these weapons, and if so, the cost of such sights. We are here thinking about red-dot sights, 4x magnification scopes, et cetera.

According to our calculations, the cost of the weapons comes to eleven billion, seven hundred sixty-five million Universal Standard Dollars ($11,765,000,000), which has been allocated by the Storting for the procurement of these weapons. Naturally, the approval of sale of the necessary munitions and extra equipment specified is a necessity for us to conduct this purchase, but assuming that this is in order with the Doomingsland Defense Industries, the funds specified shall be transfered upon confirmation of this order.

We await your response with great anticipation.

After the Tian' do P10 was phased out of service, several interim designs were implemented to fill the space of an individual crew weapon. The P11 and P-6 both made by Tian' do were large SMG type design using 9mm pistol rounds, these were both used for a while, but they were found to be either too maintenace intensive or ineffective.

To solve this lack of an individual crew weapon, the CSC Logistics department set a design contest, Yanpei technologies group entered the P-8 UDW, beating entries from Tian' do Arms and ION Industries.
The P-8 UDW (Universal Defence Weapon) originally started out as a reverse enginnering of the mistilinian MP9 by the Yanpei technologies group, however it quickly evolved and the design similarities are now merely superficial.
The casing and most of the components are made out of reinforced polycarbonates.

The basic mil-spec version called the UDW 10 shown at the top comes with a 25 round magazine, extending stock and tritium illuminated iron sights.

Extra features can include; silencer, extended 50 round magazine, Td-27 'Raven' 1x/2x Red dot Digital Sight, Yp-2IR Laser Designator and tactical flashlight.

The P-8 UDW is currently in service with Yanpei Technologies security teams, Naval Security Forces, Jade Guard armoured and airborne units, Jade Guard Pathfinder special forces, Local RRR (Rapid, Riot Response) units and the Government Security Service.

Yanpei's armanments group also sell some in small quantities on the civilian market called the UDW 11. These are either in white or green and are redesigned not to accept the mil-spec 25 or 50 round magazines but will only recieve a specially designed civillian 15 round magazine. (However it is reportedly quite easily modified to accept mil-spec mgazines.)

The UDW 12 is in operation and mecanism almost exactly the same as the UDW 10, however it now has expansion rails along the underside alowing it to mount a 40mm ballisitc grenade launcher.

_____________________________________________

Dear sir,

His Majesty the King's personal protection detail has been in search of a suitable replacement for their current carbines for some time now, and we have come to the decision that the newly released P-8 UDW would be ideal for the protection detail. Therefore, we hereby place an order for three hundred fifty (350) P-8 UDW 12 weapons.

Of course, the weapons cannot be used without ammunition, and we therefore place an additional order for one thousand fifty (1,050) 25-round magazines, seven hundred (700) 50-round magazines, and one hundred seventy-five thousand 300-round packs of 5x30mm 'Feng' IAG ammunition.

Our mathematicians have determined that the total cost for this purchase comes to a grand total of six million, eight hundred ninety-eight thousand, one hundred fifty Universal Standard Dollars ($6,898,150) before taking into account the 25 % preferred customer discount we enjoy with Doomingsland Defense Industries, which brings the total price down to five million, one hundred seventy-three thousand, six hundred twelve point five Universal Standard Dollars ($5,173,612.50).

However, we are uncertain whether or not the discount is in effect as the weapon in question is a foreign one sold under lisence at Doomingsland Defense Industries, so we shall transfer the correct funds upon confirmation of which sum is the correct one.

Surplus DR-83 Tactical Rifles

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/dr83stockedy.png

Design History and Overview

The DR-83. A weapon that has etched its name in the bloodied anals of history as one of the greatest tools devised for the purpose of killing of our time. Dozens of nations continue to equip their armies with some form of the weapon, including the Imperium Doomanum. It has become not only one of the most widely proliferated weapon systems in the world- it has become an icon. A symbol of tyranny; a symbol of freedom. A symbol of terror; a symbol of justice. It has found itself in the hands of a wide plethora of combatants: Legionaries, peacekeepers, special forces operatives, freedom fighters, criminals, police.

Tens of billions of DR-83 rifles have been manufactured; with the sheer number of nations producing the weapon under liscence on top of the largest manufacturer of the weapon, Doomingsland Defense Industries, it is almost impossible to ever truely know the amount of rifles that have been produced. Recent estimates by several third party groups estimate the number of DR-83s in all its configurations in circulation to be upwards of thirty billion units, although there is a distinct possibility that this is an understatement. Needless to say, it is the most successful weapon ever produced by DDI, spawning numerous offshoots. Its designer, I. Lucasus Aemillianus, has gone on to design numerous other popular weapons, including the DAC-97 sub machinegun, and is now one of the wealthiest citizens of the Imperium Doomanum.

Recently, Doomingsland Defense Industries was fortunate enough to stumble upon a positively massive cache of surplus DR-83 rifles numbering in the hundreds of millions, still tightly packed in foam in their vaccum-sealed composite crates. This particular surplus cache, which was purchased by DDI from the Imperial Government, has already flooded the civilian markets of close to a dozen nations. With new surplus caches being discovered and bought by DDI on an almost weekly basis, it is very possible that it will take quite some time before the surplus is extinguished. Doomingsland Defense Industries is now proud to announce it will be exporting surplus DR-83 rifles in bulk to governments and organizations all over the world at an almost obscene price: $1,500 for a crate of six rifles for a total of $250 per rifle.

Each surplus DR-83 rifle features the acronym 'SPQD' engraved in the reciever, denoting that that particular rifle was officially in service with the Imperial Army. The rifles are cushioned with high quality foam and packaged in vaccum-sealed water-tight composite crates (certified for air drop) of six rifles each. Also packaged with the rifles are eight magazines for each rifle, prepacked in webbed gear in the form of the ML.XVII.A chest rig to allow for easy carrying of the magazines (one chest rig w/eight magazines per rifle). A standard Imperial Army-issue cleaning kit is also packaged in the stock of each rifle. Imperial Army regulations required that each rifle be test fired and cleaned every five years, and the crates even contain the log book on which the Legionary who tested the weapons signed off on; as such, the customer can be rest assured that all of these rifles are in perfect, working order. According to the Imperial Army, the rifles have been in storage for fifteen years, and as such are in virtual mint condition.

Overall Design

The DR-83 was built from the ground up for use with mechanized infantry. Thus, it is relatively compact in comparison to other battlerifles, such as the DR-78. Making use of an eighteen-inch steel barrel, the weapon is both maneuverable in close quarters scenarios, and lethal at great range. The barrel itself is free floating, allowing for even greater accuracy despite the weapon not having the tightest tolerances. In order to compensate for recoil, the barrel is fitted with an advanced muzzle brake. While this does increase the sound produced when firing the weapon, this is traded off with vastly reduced muzzle climb and lessened recoil. While the weapon is generally issued with a muzzle brake, the barrel itself is threaded, allowing for the shooter to swap it out with a variety of other accesories, such as flash or sound suppresors. The barrel is forged from 4150 chrome molybdenum steel and given a black finish, producing an excellent component.

The DR-83 features a six-position collapsable stock. Built around a sturdy aluminum tube containing the buffer group, the stock itself is constructed of high-strength polymer. The stock contains a water-tight compartment, allowing for the shooter to store accessories ranging from a cleaning kit to spare batteries for any optics he may have mounted on the weapon's integrated rail system.

In order to be more maneuverable at closer range, the weapon had to be relatively light, while still maintaining low recoil and overall strength. As a result, the weapon's furniture (handguard, pistol grip, ect.) are constructed of a strong, lightweight polymer, allowing for a tough weapon that is still lightweight. The actual vented handguard maintains an advanced integrated rail system. This consists of four rails: a top rail, which runs along the whole the the weapon, two side rails, allowing for the mounting of flashlights, and a bottom rail. This allows for numerous accesories to be added: a forward assualt grip are generally mounted on the bottom rail to allow for easier handling of the weapon, while flashlights and lasers are often mounted on the side rails. The top rail can accomodate numerous scopes or even an ACU-41 semi-automatic grenade launcher. The pistol grip is highly ergonomical, allowing for easy use and added accuracy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/loldoomiesightsxq51.png

In regards to sighting systems, the DR-83's own iron sights are quite superb. Tritium sights, good for both day and night combat, are used with this weapon, using rear peep sights and front post sights, allowing for quick and easy range and wingadge adjustment for open engagements over long distances. These sights feature an MOA of 1.25, allowing for accurate fire over long ranges.

The weapon's operation allows for the greatest possible reliability. Using a short-stroke gas piston, the weapon produces superb results in the area of reliability (tests by the Imperial Government put 10,000 rounds through the weapon without a single failure). Unlike most rifles, this configuration is not reliant on a tight fit with the bolt group. Rather, it uses rails along with its recoil spring guide rod and short stroke piston to help keep the carrier in line, while leaving ample room for debris to fall. The DR-83's recoil reduction system is also utilized, reducing the hitting of metal against metal in the operation of the bolt. The rifle's fairly long bolt pull also greatly reduces recoil, as it allows the bolt to gradually slow down during the recoil process. This allows for a more comfortable to shoot, accurate rifle.

Loading the weapon follows as such: The shooter rocks the magazine into place until it locks in nice and tight. With that accomplished, he or she pulls back the charging handle, located on the right-hand side of the weapon. By doing this, a round is exracted from the magazine. The shooter then simply releases the charging handle, letting it slap forward. When the last round has been fired, the bolt stays back. When reloading the weapon, the shooter would insert the magazine and tap the bolt release, causing it to slap forward and chamber the first round. This allows for much quicker reload times, making for a more effective overall weapon.

The weapon's lower reciever is machined from a solid 4140 steel forging. While this method of manufacturing is more difficult, it produces a far more rugged, superior component. Tests by the Imperial Government on DR-83 recievers found that they were capable of withstanding tremendous pressure. The upper reciever is constructed of steel stampings; while not as fine as the lower reciever, it is still extremely rugged and significantly lightens the overall weapon. The trigger group is carefully machined and features an ultra-smooth pull, meaning that the shooter won't move the weapon nearly as much when squeezing off a round. This adds to the accuracy. Also aiding in accuracy is the use of a titanium hammer rather than a regular steel one.

The weapon features push-pin assembly and disassembly, allowing for the weapon to be quickly and easily field-stripped, breaking down into just four major components in a matter of seconds. A single pushpin located towards the rear of the reciever allows for full takedown of the weapon: the pin is popped out (although it is fixed so that it permenantly stays partially in the lower reciever's hole to ensure that the shooter doesn't lose it) and the upper reciever is tilted downward, as it is hinged off of the lower reciever. This would expose the weapon's internals, and the shooter would then withdraw the recoil spring and bolt assembly, leaving the weapon fully field stripped. It is a highly simple straight forward process that allows extremely easy maintanence for a weapon that requires little to no maintanence in the first place.

The magazine cache is similar to most other rifles, requiring the magazine to be rocked into position in order to lock in. The magazines range in construction and design, with current magazines in use with the Imperial Army being constructed of transparent plastic (allowing for the shooter to view how many rounds are left in the magazine) and holding thirty 6.7x53mm rounds, featuring in-built notches and hooks to allow the magazines to be clamped together.

The selector switch is located on the left side of the weapon above the pistol grip. This allows for extreme ease of access, allowing the shooter to switch rate of fire with the flick of the thumb, without taking his hand off of the pistol grip. The switch has four settings: 'SAFE', 'SEMI', 'BURST, and 'AUTO'. The weapon's burst function is a two-round burst, allowing for greater accuracy. However, it must be noted that a good deal of the surplus rifles lack a two-round burst setting, as the Imperial Army decided that it was unnecessary halfway through the DR-83's production run.

Cartridge

Drawing on experience from both the DR-31 and DR-78, designers and Doomingsland Defense Industries put together a round that would have managable recoil but superior kinetic energy and knockdown power. The result of this was a blending between cartrages: the 6.7x53mm Imperial cartrage. Standard issue cartrages use a 135-grain bullet. While it is more than twice as heavy as the 5.56x45mm NATO cartrage, it is still light enough to allow for superb kinetic energy from the long case, which is acualy a shortened, necked down 7.8x63mm case (ensuring that there is a tremendous amount of powder behind the projectile meaning that it will achieve absolutely vicious velocities).

Using advanced quick burning powder and superb ignition with a steel case, the 6.7mm cartridge's combination of weight and kinetic energy produces what the Empire sees as the perfect round: excellent range, excellent penetration, excellent terminal performance. This allows for the penetration of body armor at long ranges while maintaining awsome knockdown power. When used in close quarters, the 6.7mm cartridge is positively deadly, piercing most body armor and dropping men with a single hit. When used in two-round burst, a kill is almost assured.

In order to penetrate armor and put down an enemy soldier, DDI designers came up with a blended metal bullet for the new 6.7mm cartridge. While this round is seen to have questionable results by some nation's militaries, blended metal rounds have served the Empire well through multiple wars with distinction, effectively penetrating body armor and causing horrific wounds.

Aurum Domus Police Department

The ADPD would like to commision a police carbine to be chambered in 5.56x45 ammunition. This should be manueverable and easy to use. Recently in Aurum Domus we have been dealing with much organized crime and terrorism. These criminals are wielding assault rifles and PDWs which easily defeat the standard TDX .40 and Remington 870 shotguns wielded by the department. We want a compact carbine that can be easily used in vehicles but with a good amount of firepower. The 5.56 round is necessary so overpenetration does not occur. Recoil is also a concern with a compact assault rifle so we do not think using the 6.7 round would be a good idea. Please contact us ASAP so we can begin designing the new rifle.

We understand your concern in regards to recoil and penetration; however, in terms of recoil, the DR-87 is easily managed. Numerous systems built into the weapon itself make up for recoil produced by the round, including a muzzle brake, a buffer spring in the stock, an optional rubber recoil pad, and a balanced gas operating system. All of these things greatly reduce recoil to the point where going with a 5.56mm weapon for the sake of reduced recoil really does not make any sense.

In terms of overpenetration, your concerns are not warranted provided you use 6.7mm Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP) ammunition or perhaps frangible ammunition. Both rounds are designed to completely eliminate overpenetration, focusing all of the energy of the round into the target itself. This not only prevents the round from overpenetrating, it makes for a more powerful round overall in terms of killing power. Therefore, we suggest you reevaluate the DR-87.

Pwnage Ordnance L-23A2 Combat Handgun:

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w174/MassPwnage/L-23Redo.png

Description: The L-23A2 is a modern update of the venerable L-23A1 combat handgun.

The L-23A1 first entered Pwnage service in 1939 as a response to the Colt M1911s and Breyr No. 1s Pwnage troops were encountering and to demands by the Pwnage military for a pistol more effective than the C96 based L-20 in service at that time. The L-23A1 was renowned for its accuracy, reliability and stopping power during the Xenizen-Pwnage war in the 1940s, its heavy 10mm rounds being able to put down fanatical Japanese soldiers with ease, and its reliability in the choking mud and wet rice paddies of Xenizen China unparalleled.

However, as the years went by, L-23s in Pwnage service became old and rusty, especially the ones sitting in some tribesman’s hut in the middle of the jungle. What was needed was a mid-life upgrade, something that could ensure the durability of the pistols in MP’s environments, while enhancing performance.

Many older L-23A1s were retooled. The lower frame was replaced with a new one, which could handle different palm swell grips. All metal parts of the weapon were given a corrosion proof Tenifer finish and new 3 dot sights were added as well. Lastly, the gun was given a rail interface system so that it could be equipped with more types of accessories. The resulting L-23A2 entered testing in 1971 and first saw combat in 1972. The L-23A2 has been in Pwnage service ever since.

Construction: The L-23 is a steel framed pistol. Although MP Ordnance wanted to retool the old L-23A1s with a polymer frame, the high strategic materials consumption and MassPwnage’s depressed economy at the time made that impossible. However, MP Ordnance could provide new grips and backstraps in plastic. MP Ordnance could not deliver a polymer framed handgun until it made the L-26, the successor to the L-23, but the L-26 did not replace the L-23A2 in combat service due to MP Ordnance’s inability to furnish enough of the pistols to satisfy demand in civilian markets, let alone military markets.

MP Ordnance did manage to upgrade the metal parts of the L-23 though. All metal parts, with the exception of the inside of the barrel are given a Tenifer treatment, and then parkerized. This creates an exceptionally tough and rust resistant finish. All plastic parts are made from UHMWPE, ensuring their durability. The inside of the cold forged barrel is lined with stellite, a cobalt chromium alloy of exceptional durability

Operation: The L-23A2 is a striker fired, recoil operated, locked breech, delayed blowback handgun. Upon discharging the weapon, the barrel and slide recoil backwards until the locking block cams the barrel downwards. The slide keeps moving backwards as the extractor ejects spent cartridges from the weapon. There is no cam or link in the weapon that locks the barrel, thus resulting in a lower profile and bore height. This means that the recoil goes straight backwards. This combined with the fact that the handgun is gripped high means that muzzle flip and felt recoil are kept to a minimum.

Ergonomics: Despite the heavy round, L-23 handguns are actually quite comfortable to shoot, thanks to the manageable recoil and minimal muzzle flip. The L-23A2 is even more comfortable to use than its predecessor, due to its modular grips and backstraps. The controls are all ambidextrous and easy to access, with the safety being at the thumb, the slide release easy to hit with only a sweep of the index finger and the magazine release easy to activate with the middle finger. Another reason why the L-26 was not adopted was because its double stack magazine made the grip too thick for many smaller hands.

Reloading is made simpler by a beveled magazine well, which makes it easier to insert magazines into the gun.

Drawing the gun is easy, because the weapon does not have any sharp edges or corners. Every surface has been carefully rounded off, greatly reducing the chances the weapon will snag upon being drawn.

Reliability: We can safely say the L-23A2 is the most reliable semiautomatic handgun ever made. The gun has been put through every conceivable torture test, and it passed them all with flying colors (except for getting run over by a tank). The following is the compiled list of tests the gun went through before being adopted by the Pwnage military.

Tests:

Drop:
-Dropped from 5 m onto pavement: Was not damaged, did not discharge.
-Dropped from 15m onto pavement: Was not damaged, did not discharge.
-Dropped from 100m onto pavement: Slight scratching on exterior, did not discharge.
-Dropped from 250m onto pavement: Landed nose first, popped slide out of battery, but was easily fixed. Did not discharge.
-Dropped 1000m into soil: Minor cosmetic damage, slide out of battery, did not discharge.

Firing:
-30,000 rounds in continuous rapid fire without cleaning: No failure to feed, no failure to eject.
-Limp wristed: No failure to feed, no failure to eject.
-Squib: Successfully cleared squib by shooting another round through it.
-Corrosive Ammunition: No evidence of corrosion found even after 20,000 rounds of corrosive ammunition and immersion in salt water.

Environmental:
-Salt Water: No rusting occurred
-Jammed with Mud and Quicksand: No failure to fire, no failure to feed
-Fine Sand: No failure to fire, no failure to feed.
-Heated to 150 degrees Celsius: No failure to fire, no failure to feed
-Frozen to -100 degrees Celsius: No failure to fire, no failure to feed
-Jammed with Plaster: No failure to fire, no failure to feed
-Fired Submerged: No damage to gun.

External Damage:
-Shot, .22: Minor external cosmetic damage
-Shot 9mm Auto: Slight external denting.
-Shot, by L-23A2: Moderate denting, does not affect operation of gun substantially.
-Stone wedged in trigger transfer bar: Increased trigger pull to 20 lbs. Still fired.
-Dragged Behind Utility Vehicle: Minor cosmetic damage.
-Dragged on River Bottom: No damage.
-Run Over (Utility Vehicle): Minor cosmetic damage
-Run Over (Tank): Destroyed, but then again, no gun can stand getting run over by a tank.
-Pistol Whipping: Bent frame around victim’s head. Also turned victim’s head into a bloody pulp. Pistol whipping is a bad idea as well.

The primary reasons for the reliability of the handgun are the lower number of moving parts compared to other handguns, the large extractor, the tough Tenifer finish and the stellite lined barrel. The L-23A2 is also very easy to maintain. Simply throw into boiling water and then oil lightly and reassemble once done.

Accuracy: The L-23A2 is a superbly accurate handgun. The flat shooting 10x25mm cartridge is accurate out to 100m. The heavy barrel and slide, stiff recoil spring and clean trigger break all contribute to accuracy, as do the tall, high contrast sights. Rapid fire shooting is made easy, due to the extremely quick trigger reset and manageable recoil. 25mm groups with the handgun at 25m are not uncommon.

Cartridge: L-23 handguns fire the 10x25mm MP cartridge. The 10x25mm MP is a slightly bottlenecked cartridge that fires a 10mm round out of an 11.43mm casing. The standard military load is a steel tipped, lead cored 230 gr. Ball round with a muzzle velocity of 500 m/s. The round’s stopping power is certainly not in doubt. Case studies usually show hits to the torso resulting in lung and abdominal tissue being throw multiple meters away from the exit wound. Shots to the head generally result in brain tissue being blown out of the back of the head in question.

The L-23A2 can also support 11.43x25mm and 10x25mm Auto ammunition with a simple change of barrel.

I am interested in the purchase of a L-23A2 Combat Handgun.
But... considering a wheeled utility vehicle would exert more ground pressure per square inch than a tracked tank, and that any gun not made of paste should be able to withstand the ~15 psi of tank treads, I wonder if that is some kind of mistake in your testers' report? If you can explain this to my satisfaction I would like to purchase the weapon and will send the required $500.

Mr. Seville, you do realize that a utility vehicle's tires are soft and filled with air and deform around a weapon, while a tank's treads are solid and tend to scrape whatever they touch, so although a utility vehicle has higher ground pressure, the tank's treads tend to do much more damage to whatever they run over.

While investigating possible replacements for the .50 Desert Eagle currently used as the main sidearm of the Presidential Security Detachment, and possible expansion to the Republic Guard, reserves, and national militias at large, I was intrigued by the Pwnagian L-23.

I would consider it an ideal replacement to the Desert Eagle, which has a tendency to hurt when I fire it on the range (I am 5'6" and 110 pounds, so I'm not very large) but I am concerned by its tendency to bend when used to pistol-whip a victim.

Aside from the ethical concerns of such a test, I would like to know how a weapon that stands up to the other torture tests, including being run over by an utility vehicle, manages to bend when used to strike a victim with considerably less force than that applied by a multi-ton vehicle.

Finally, what is the price of domestic production rights to the L-23A2, should it prove suitable?

Lt. Colonel Mara K. Fulton,
Director, Presidential Security

LAC.V Spiculum Multi-Purpose Recoilless Gun System

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/spiculumfinal.png

Spiculum Model 2015, shown above.

Design History and Overview

Originally entering service in its very earliest form in Doomanum in early 1996, the Spiculum is currently one of the most widespread weapon systems fielded by Doomani and old CAD-bloc forces. Named for the throwing spear utilized by the Late Roman Empire and early Doomani Empire, the Spiculum is a true multi-purpose recoilless weapon system. Designed to give the infantryman the option of neutralizing a wide variety of targets ranging from fortified structures to enemy main battle tanks, the Spiculum has, in past conflicts, exceeded the expectations of the High Command, resulting in the weapon being extremely widely used.

Overall Design

The Spiculum is constructed primarily of polymers (older models using wood in place of polymer), with steel used whereever appropriate; the prepacked tubes the ammunition is contained in are constructed of a fiberglass composite. It consists of a launching platform which contains the mounting system for the weapon's optional electronic sight as well as folding iron sights. The weapon utilizes a pair of vertical grips, giving it excellent ergonomics.

The weapon's actual 105mm tube is a two-portioned system, with the actual ammunition itself (loaded in pre-packed launch tubes, complete with propellant, etc.) taking up the second section; the first section of the tube is built into the weapon itself, reducing the weapon's overall size when empty. The weapon is breech loaded, with the pre-packed launch tube section snapping into position behind the weapon's indigenous tube.

The weapon's Oculus OA.CVI electronic weapon sight grants the weapon superb accuracy at range in addition to allowing for the use of a wide range of ammunition, including guided rounds. The sight interfaces with the weapon's rail-based mounting system. When a fresh ammunition tube is loaded, its 'key' interfaces with the OA.CVI, telling the sight what kind of round has been loaded automatically. The OA.CVI then automatically sights itself in based on the type of round loaded, adjusting targetting data to allow for the most accurate possible shot. The sight also includes a laser range finder, which automatically adjusts the weapon's sighting at range. In addition, the sight possesses a thermal imaging system, allowing for it to be used in low light situations.

The sight is also designed to interface with the Censura anti-tank guided missile (ATGM), serving as the targetting platform for the missile, automatically identifying targets and allowing for locks to be achieved on enemy vehicles.

This allows for a wide variety of ammunition to be utilized, ranging from standard unguided bunker-busting HEDP ammunition to guided, top-attack tandem warhead anti-tank guided missiles.

Ammunition

The Spiculum is capable of firing a wide variety of ammunition in the 105mm caliber. The most popular of these rounds is the S.I anti-tank round, utilizing a tandem HEAT warhead, allowing for it to defeat enemy vehicles utilizing explosive reactive armor. Other rounds include the S.II high-explosive dual-purpose round, a tandem warhead round consisting of a HEAT and high explosive warhead, allowing for it to be used against light vehicles and fortified structures. Unlike the S.I which strives for sheer penetration, the S.II is designed to simply blow a large hole in the target; as such, it is vastly more effective against enemy fortifications and soft-skinned vehicles. Conventional high explosive ammunition is also available, along with a thermobaric round, used notably in the Iudaean War (Kahanistani Occupation) with its ability to collapse fortified enemy structures with a single hit.

A beehive round is also available for defensive employment against enemy infantry. When dealing with enemy armor, however, the Spiculum is capable of firing the Censura LGATW fire-and-forget anti-tank missile. The Spiculum is capable of being utilized in enclosed spaces through use of the recoilless countermass principal by filling the rear of the launch tube with plastic granulate, making the weapon especially suited to urban warfare.

Dear sir,

First of all, I'd like to inform you that We are extremely pleased with the preformance of the DR-83M Tactical Rifles currently in service with the Royal Marines, which has already proven itself in combat with the Marine Expeditionary Force in Brazil. This success has not gone unnoticed with neither the Royal Marines nor with the other branches of the Armed Forces or the political leadership. After consultations with the branches and political leadership, the Army in particular stated a desire to adopt the DR-83M as the new standard rifle. Therefore, we are hereby adopting the DR-83M 21st Century Tactical Rifle as the standard issue rifle for the Royal Cottish Armed Forces, and are therefore in need of a rather large number of rifles. So, we are hereby placing an order for a grand total of twenty-five million (25,000,000) units.

Additionally, we shall require a total of ten million (10,000,000) units of the DMG-83 Squad Automatic Rifle to arm our automatic riflemen, in order to maintain an ease of logistical support (same caliber rounds in the weapons, making it easier on logistics).

We have calculated the cost for this weapons purchase to a total of sixty-four point five billion Universal Standard Dollars ($64,500,000,000), but taking into account the 25 % discount we have most graciously recieved from Doomingsland Defense Industries, this cost is reduced to a total of forty-eight point three hundred seventy-five billion Universal Standard Dollars ($48,375,000,000), which shall be transfered to the normal account upon confirmation of this order.

I would also like to inquire as to the possiblity of aquiring additional optical scopes, bipods and silencers for the weapons we have already purchased, to be able to negate the negative effects of wear and tear and to quickly replace broken equipment in the field.

Additionally, I'd like to order an additional fifteen hundred (1,500) P-8 UDW 12 weapons, along with fifteen hundred (1,500) 25-round magazines, seven thousand (7,000) 50-round magazines, and one million (1,000,000) 300-round packs of 5x30mm 'Feng' IAG ammunition, as well as fifteen hundred (1,500) Bt-59 'Shrike' Silencers, fifteen hundred (1,500) Td-G7 'Falcon' 1x, 3x digital red dot scopes and fifteen hundred (1,500) F34 Flashlights. This has been calculated to come to thirty-nine million, three hundred and thirty-two thousand, five hundred Universal Standard Dollars ($39,332,500), which with the 25 % discount is reduced to twenty-nine million four hundred and ninety-nine thousand, three hundred seventy-five Universal Standard Dollars ($29,499,375). This sum will also be wired to the correct account upon confirmation of this order.

I thank you in advance and anticipate a swift and positive reply.

DR-89 Assault Rifle

Design History and Overview

The Imperial Guard had long used a shortened version of the DR-78 rifle for their standard carbine, chambered in the rather large 7.8x63mm cartridge. This made for a rather unbalanced, difficult to use weapon. While DR-83s were available to some Imperial Guard units for special use, the cost of the weapons restricted their widespread availability to what was a force on a highly limited budget. As a result, the Imperial Guard had a need for a dedicated 6.7mm weapon that it could "officially" put into service to supplement its standard issue DR-78M rifles. This weapon would be issued to special units, logistics personnel, vehicle crew, officers and NCOs, and generally used in situations where the large 7.8mm battle rifle would not be suited. In addition, it was to serve as the standard patrol rifle for Imperial Guardsmen during peacetime (the Imperial Guard serves as the police force of the Imperium Doomanum during peacetime)

Doomingsland Defense Industries responded to this demand with the DR-89 rifle. This weapon, based on the DR-83's action and design but stripped down to its most basic level, was, as needed, extremely easy to mass produce. However, keeping with DDI's reputation, it was also an rediculously durable piece of hardware, as well as maintaining a relatively high degree of accuracy, especially in relation to the cost per unit of the weapon.

Overall Design

Like the DR-78M the DR-89 is supplementing, the weapon features solid stamped-steel construction. This not only makes for a cheap, easy to mass-produce weapon; it also produces a very sturdy, durable unit, capable of withstanding the rigors of service with the Imperial Guard. Like the DR-83, the DR-89 utilizes simple push-pin assembly and disassembly, allowing for the weapon to be easily field stripped.

The weapon's furniture is constructed of highly durable polymer, with the handguard of the weapon featuring a built-in vertical foregrip to allow for easier control of the weapon when fired on fully automatic. The weapon also features a folding stock (also constructed of polymer, which not only makes for a lightweight and durable component; it also serves to absorb recoil). Standard DR-83-style iron sights are utilized by the DR-89, which feature a rotary drum rear sight and post front sights, both utilizing tritium inserts to facilitate night combat. A standard Imperial accessory rail spans the top of the reciever, allowing for various optics to be utilized with the DR-89.

The weapon's operation, based on the DR-83's action but instead utilizing a short stroke piston as with the DR-87, allows for the greatest possible reliability. Using a short-stroke gas piston, the weapon produces superb results in the area of reliability (tests by the Imperial Government put 10,000 rounds through the weapon without a single failure). Unlike most rifles, this configuration is not reliant on a tight fit with the bolt group. Rather, it uses rails along with its recoil spring guide rod and long stroke piston to help keep the carrier in line, while leaving ample room for debris to fall. The DR-89's gas system, like that of the DR-83M, features an adjustable valve, allowing for the rate of fire of the weapon to be adjusted.

Loading the weapon follows as such: The shooter rocks the magazine into place until it locks in nice and tight. With that accomplished, he or she pulls back the charging handle, located on the left-hand side of the weapon (one of the main differences between the DR-89 and DR-83, whose charging handle is on the right hand side of the weapon). By doing this, a round is exracted from the magazine. The shooter then simply releases the charging handle, letting it slap forward. When the last round has been fired, the bolt stays back. When reloading the weapon, the shooter would insert the magazine and pull the bolt back slightly further which would allow for it to slap forward and chamber the first round.

The magazine cache (another component borrowed from the DR-83) is similar to most other rifles, requiring the magazine to be rocked into position in order to lock in. The DR-83 and DR-89 both utilize the same magazine interface, thereby allowing both weapons to utilize the same magazines.

The DR-89's barrel is chrome lined to reduce wear and is threaded to allow for various accessories such as flash and sound suppressors to be attached. The standard DR-89 ships with a combination flash suppressor/muzzle break that both reduces recoil and muzzle climb as well as nearly eliminating the weapon's muzzle flash.

While it is more than twice as heavy as the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, it is still light enough to allow for superb kinetic energy from the long case, which is acualy a shortened, necked down 7.8x63mm case (ensuring that there is a tremendous amount of powder behind the projectile meaning that it will achieve absolutely vicious velocities). The round also produces a rather low degree of felt recoil.

We are impressed with the DR-89 writeup and design, and would like to take this time to congratulate you on the design. We will keep our eye on this weapon for the future. However, we would like a professional opinion on weather this weapon, with it's length when unfolded, would be effective in urban or highly wooded areas, where common sense would dictate the need for a shorter rifle. We anticipate most future conflict taking place in built-up areas, therefore any replacement rifle needs to be able to perform well in close quarters.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/disposable.png
Pictured with thermal imaging sight.

History and Overview

The Pilum disposable anti-tank weapon is a distant cousin of the Spiculum recoilless gun and direct development of the older LAC rocket propelled grenade (and is essentially the current production rocket of the LAC in a disposable launch tube). Unlike the Spiculum, the Pilum is a straight out rocket launcher as opposed to a recoilless gun. In addition, the Pilum was designed from the ground up to be a cheap yet effective disposable weapon, and its design reflects that. Equipped with a 110mm tandem HEAT warhead, the Pilum boasts superb penetration capability, exceeding that of the 105mm Spiculum. This comes at the price of range and weight; however, the fact that it is a disposable weapon meant primarily for usage in MOUT environments means that range is not so much of a concern, and weight is somewhat aleviated through the Pilum's materials as well as the fact that it is meant to be disposable.

The weapon consists of a simple two-piece collapsable plastic tube (50mm bore diameter) with a built-in blast deflector. Steel is used only where necessary in the tube, and as a result the weapon is relatively light. The firing mechanism consists of a trigger device covered over by a safety latch; in order to fire the Pilum, the gunner most pull a pin embedded in the safety latch, causing the latch to fall off of the firing mechanism and revealing the trigger device, which would then be depressed to fire the weapon: in essense, employment of the Pilum is simple enough for even a small child to master. Simple iron sights are used for aiming, giving the weapon a maxium effective range of roughly four hundred meters, depending on the profeciency of the gunner. However, the Pilum is capable of interfacing with the Spiculum's OA.CVI sight by mounting it with a special adaptor over the firing mechanism, which adds both the sight and a pistol grip and trigger.

The Pilum's rocket comes factory loaded in the disposable launch tube. It consists of a two-stage 50mm fin-stabalized rocket motor and (in the standard model) a 125mm tandem HEAT warhead. One of the Pilum's key features is its ability to be fired in confined spaces: the backblast effect is limited through the recoilless countermass principal by filling the rear of the tube with plastic granulate, thus allowing the operator to fire the weapon from inside of buildings.

Official Proclamation of the Empire of Vojvodina-Nihon.

The Most Glorious Emperor, Ruler of Mankind, Prince among Princes, Lord of the Earth and Sky, Master over All Things Visible and Invisible, He Who Leads the Nation to Greatness, has authorised me, a humble scribe and minion, to put this statement to paper.

The Mightiest Ruler, He who is Destined to Rule over the Known and Unknown Universe, The Most Majestic and Potent Emperor, has deigned to purchase a single thunder-stick (despite His obvious and latent ability to destroy anything He so pleases if He so much as looks upon its countenance); the purpose is to speed his sport at the hunting of the metal birds that fly through the heavens with a great noise, and whose droppings cause much pain amongst His unworthy and eternally grateful subjects. It is said by the wizards that thunder-sticks are well capable of driving away birds of any kind, even those of metal; and one wizard, who hailed from the far-off and unfortunately unenlightened land of Haven, claimed that the Doomingsland Defense Industries were the best thunder-stick makers in the Known and Unknown Universe.

Therefore, as He Who Leads the Nation to Greatness is concerned with affairs of great import and has no time to devote His attention to the various makes of thunder-sticks, if it please the Doomingsland Defense Industries they should select the appropriate thunder-stick and send it to the Most Mighty and Immortal Emperor's Grand Citadel. Money is no object; the required number of gold crownes will be dispatched with the Emperor's fastest horseman upon confirmation. If this order should be fulfilled to satisfaction, the Ruler of Mankind and Lord of the Earth and Sky should be most favourable towards the Doomingsland Defense Industries, and perhaps shall even allow His highest ranking commanders and nobles to wield such powerful weapons (although the common soldiery shall have to make do with lances and longbows).

The Most Glorious Emperor, Ruler of Mankind, Prince among Princes, Lord of the Earth and Sky, Master over All Things Visible and Invisible, He Who Leads the Nation to Greatness, has spoken! All hail the Most Glorious Emperor, Ruler of Mankind, Prince among Princes, Lord of the Earth and Sky, Master over All Things Visible and Invisible, He Who Leads the Nation to Greatness!

Two days later, the horseman -- having somehow, through bribery or subterfuge, convinced Lufthansa to allow his horse on board the sole monthly flight from Belgrade to Urbis Doomanum -- canters into the main corporate headquarters, having cleared the vast number of redundant security measures. Upon finding the sales department, he alights and pompously deposits a canvas bag filled with gold dinars, each one about the size of a man's hand and engraved with a likeness of the Most Glorious Emperor. He then asks for the staff's recommendation for a nearby hotel at which he and his horse can stay until the thunder-stick is ready for him to take back to the Most Glorious Emperor, and how much extra the wrapping-paper (blood-red and decorated with black mushroom clouds!) will cost.

MAD.V Imperator-II Main Battle Tank

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/Imperator-IIMBT.png

Overview

The MAD.IV Imperator has served in the Imperial Army through several major conflicts: the Arretian Crusade (Circum-Havenic War), the Czardaian Crusade (Czardaian Civil War), and the Kahanistani Crusade, earning a fearsome reputation for completely outclassing its foes. It has proven itself time and time again, never failing to best enemy armor in open combat, while performing superbly in urban combat with its impressive array of weaponry. However, the Imperator, like all weapons, eventually aged itself enough to the point where it was no longer a viable weapon system as compared to newer foreign designs, at least in the eyes of the Imperial Army.

While the MAD.IV had met the Army's requirements for the time it served, the introduction of increasingly lethal foreign designs shortened the life span of the tank; however, it was seen that a good amount of the Imperator's existing systems were viable solutions for various problems, and so it was that the replacement for the Imperator turned out to be nothing short of a massive overhaul of the original design rather than a brand new tank.

Not only did this cut costs, it made it easier for Imperial tankers to adjust to the new weapon system at their fingertips.

The latest version of the Imperator tank, designated the MAD.V Imperator-II, is far easier to maintain than its predecessor, featuring modular armor as well as a far more reliable engine, allowing for easy field repairs. It is also far more lethal, sporting the new D/ETTG-II electro-thermal chemical cannon, capable of destroying most modern tanks with a single hit. The new armor composite utilized on the Imperator-II grants the tank far better protection then its predecessor.

With the superb systems from the MAD.IV and the latest in military hardware at work in the MAD.V, it is sure to see decades of admirable service in the Imperial Army.

Design

The MAD.IV's hull is retained in the MAD.V, and as a result the designs are very similar, the primary noticable difference being the brand new turret featured on the Imperator-II, which comes as a result of a need for a turret more suited to the use of ERA, and a turret capable of handling the newer, more powerful gun sported by the Imperator-II.

As with the original Imperator, the driver sits furthest to the front. His compartment is heavily armored. The gunner and commander are seated in the turret. However, the gunner is burried deep down in the turret, seated mostly within the hull, with just his head and shoulders within the turret itself, while the commander sits at an incline while buttoned, with their respective electronics suites. This allows for a very low profile turret. The turret itself is actualy split into two halves, one occupied by the two crew members, and the other by the autoloader and ammunition storage, ensuring that the crew are properly isolated from the volitile ammunition, increasing their survivability in the event of a turret penetration. However, a crawl space exists within the gunner's position (sealed when not in use) that allows for him to move to the ammunition compartment, allowing for him to manually load the gun in the event of an autoloader malfunction.

Seated deep down in the turret (which allows for a far lower profile than most contemporary tanks), the gunner has his advanced sighting systems in easy to access areas, the commander being immersed in a series of liquid crystal and OLED moniters, the whole layout designed to allow extremely quick and effecient access to information. This allows for him to access a real time, 3D view of the surrounding environment, utilizing the various sensors and electronics to display it all (he can view it using electro-optical, infared, or a combination of LIDAR/LADAR, milimetric wave radar, rendering the area in 3D computer graphics to display an easy to read picture, allowing for targets to be quickly and easily identified). The driver's controls are just as effecient, giving him a full 360 degree view of the surrounding environment displayed with the systems of his choosing (external digital cameras are by far the most popular for the driver position). His controls are simple, consisting of pedals and a steering wheel, meaning that training an Imperator-II driver is all the easier.

The inside of the vehicle is designed to defeat fires, utilizing ergonomical halon fire extinguishing systems located throughout the vehicle to quickly put out any fires. The interior is also liquid cooled in order to keep the temperature down (all those computers tend to make it pretty hot in there)

While it does maintain the same hull design as the MAD.IV, the Imperator-II features a brand new turret. Designed to maintain the much larger breech of the D/ETTG-II electro-thermal chemical gun, the new turret features an extended rear section encompassing the autoloader and ammunition compartment. Sloping on the new turret is superior to the that found on the MAD.IV; unlike the more angular turret found on the MAD.IV, the MAD.V features a rounded frontal arc, heavily sloped and designed to make maximum usage of the new Asteriox ERA fielded on the Imperator-II. With the commander sitting at an incline and the gunner far more deep into the turret than with other tanks, the Imperator-II is also able to achieve a very low profile.

Powerplant

The MAD.V departs from the MAD.IV's unwieldy quasiturbine engine, instead going with a far simpler design. Doomingsland Defense Industry chose the ARSB's Dat'Pizdy Arms as its engine subcontractor, utilizing their Mak-INV Automotive 4EVR1990 SureFire twin-turbocharged four-cycle multi-fuel diesel engine. The engine was further subcontracted by Imperial Motors, who produced it under liscence from Dat'Pizdy for DDI.

The powerpack was designed to maximize reliability in all climates, terrains, and usage profiles by utilizing an incredibly reliable engine and transmission combination. The rear-mounted, transverse engine, derived from its agricultural counterpart [and also further modified for automotive usage in the CMPL], is the Mak-INV Automotive 4EVR1990 SureFire twin-turbocharged four-cycle multi-fuel diesel engine developing just short of two-thousand brake horsepower. Its cousin in the agricultural world being highly revered, the 4EVR1990 doesn’t disappoint its proud heritage, even offering similar torque rise-up to 20%- and power growth-up to 70 horsepower-as its cousin. The 4EVR1990 itself is a 1658 cubic inch displacement [CID] [27.2 L], twelve cylinder engine of reliable design and manufacture, and designed to operate separate of electronics if all electronic systems are disabled. This includes providing the vehicle with a series of manual bin heaters to preheat the fuel delivery system, fuel , crankcase, and the actual combustion chambers by providing a basket to either pour in siphoned or ready fuel, paper, or any other combustible item to be ignited and allowed to preheat the systems prior to cranking the engine. In the absence of the starter-generator, a manual crank and lever [with planetary transmission to overcome the pressures involved and quick-release clutch to prevent injury] can be used to turn the engine over and initiate combustion of the preheated fuel.

However, in most conditions, the engine will retain its ability to use its non-integral electronics set. A centralized Advanced Engine Controller provides computerized support in determining fuel amounts, pressure, rate of flow, and various other variables in allowing the engine to operate in the most efficient, or powerful depending on the settings, way possible. The Advanced Engine Controller also allows for reliable starting in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit with the fuel and fuel delivery system preheating systems [as well as efficient glow plugs]. In absence of electronic/computer control, the electronic fuel injection is proxy-operated using vacuum pressure developed from compression and normal cycle operations of the engine. The entire engine is built with high-strength components [monotherm pistons] and alloys, designed to reliably operate for years without overhaul.

The engine, though, is only half of the powerpack combination, with the Transmission Services LLC Pro-Design TSE-870D Transmission providing the other half. This hydrostatic/manual transmission provides four forward gear ranges, each offering a high and low gear [Powershift], and one reverse gear range. Clutch-less shift-on-the-fly allows for rapid gear changes without engaging and disengaging the clutch. A hydrostatic creeper gear allows for slow and precise movements. Similar to the engine component of the powerpack, the transmission was also designed to operate independently of electronics and can operate the manual portion of the transmission without electronic support.

With all computer systems operating, the engine and transmission set provides about one mile per gallon average fuel efficiency. The remainder of the driving systems of the tank include the active/dynamic suspension system [with forward and rear hydraulic raising/lowering to allow for ground clearance and stature modification] and hydraulically assisted braking [manual transmission braking in absence of electronics]. Additionally and in most cases, an auxiliary power unit is positioned on the rear storage rack of the turret. The Mak-INV Automotive GES-791A auxiliary power unit can provide power generation abilities for the tank’s electronics and main gun systems but at an increased fuel efficiency and reduced heat and noise levels than the primary engine.

Armor

The Imperator-II's armor is vastly superior to that of the Imperator-I. Doomingsland Defense Industries completely scrapped the indigenously-designed Lorica-series armor composite in favor of MP Ordnance's Mosaic III armor composite, marketed on the MAD.V as the Lorica-III armor composite. MP Ordnance, as the second major subcontractor for the MAD.V aside from Dat'Pizdy, utilized the Imperator-II as their initial testbed for Mosaic III.

However, it must be noted that because a brand new armor composite is utilized, it is technically impossible to upgrade MAD.IV tanks to MAD.V specifications, as the hulls found on the MAD.IV featured a totally different composite. The MAD.IV can, however, be upgraded to the MAD.IVM (Imperator-M), which features the new turret of the Imperator-II as well as all of the new electronics and weapon systems, along with the new engine; the primary difference between the MAD.V and MAD.IVM being the hull armor, with the MAD.IVM maintaining the integrated Lorica-II composite found on the MAD.IV.

However, unlike Mosaic III as found in service with the MP Army, explosive reactive armor is utilized on the Imperator II. As with the base armor itself, the Imperator II improves over the heavy ERA fielded on the MAD.IV. In this case, Doomingsland Defense Industries chose Kreigzimmer as the subcontractor with their Asteriox heavy ERA, fielded on their Nakil 1A2 main battle tank. However, unlike the Nakil, the Imperator utilizes this armor not only on the hull, but on the turret as well, creating an exceptionaly well-protected vehicle against enemy threats.

Initial test results from the armor were nothing short of spectacular, fully meeting and exceeding the requirements of the High Command.

MoSAiC V3:

[u]Front and Upper Glacis Armor:

Face: The face of the armor is made up of silicone glazed AMAP-B composite sandwiched between layers of perforated AerMet 100.

Spacing: An elastic polymer foam backed by rubber and steel is used to space the armor.

Heavy Metal Module: Behind that lie perpendicularly placed rods of titanium coated nanocrystalline tungsten/cobalt, which are pressed into a silicone elastomer bed sandwiched between layers of AerMet 100 and reinforced with the same titanium carbide monofilaments found in the core.

Core: The core of the armor is made up of a layer of graphite faced amorphous silicon carbide and AerMet 100 isostatically pressed between a silicone elastomer bedded Ti-6Al-4V metal matrix composite reinforced with monofilament titanium carbide, which extends through the core to increase homogeneity. This entire assembly is then sandwiched between two layers of AerMet 100 hardened to 52 HRC.

Core backing: The core is backed with a layer of titanium carbide monofilament reinforced AerMet 100 hardened to 52 HRC.

Integral Armor: Titanium MMC and ceramic plates backed by a metallic foam/elastomer sheet between two layers of AerMet 100. Provides protection against 15.7x131mm heavy machine gun rounds.

Hull: Welded structural steel, surrounding and isostatically pressed into the integral armor.

Spall Liner: Boronated Spectra spall liner.

Side, Glacis and Rear Armor: The side and rear armor on a tank has to be thinner than armor on the front of the tank. Thus, a different configuration has to be used.

Side/Glacis Armor:

The Integral Armor, combined with the hull of the tank and the spall liner, can stop up to 25mm APFSDS from penetrating the side. But given the proliferation of heavy ETC autocannons on NS, more armor to the sides had to be added.

Side and Bottom Glacis:

Face: The faceplate remains the same, silicone glazed AMAP-B composite sandwiched between layers of perforated AerMet 100.

Spacing: The spacing also remains the same.

Core: The core is made out of graphite coated, monolithic fiber impregnated amorphous silicon carbide blocks bonded between two thin sheets of Ti-6Al-4V. This is fairly light and offers good protection against HEAT warheads.

Core Backing: The core is backed by a sheet of Ti-6Al-4V.

Then follows the integral armor of course.

Rear: The rear is protected by the integral armor, a thin layer of ALON and a thinner layer of the faceplate.

Floor: The floor armor is composed of two 12.7mm thick steel plates sandwiching a layer of ALON. The entire array is backed up by the integral armor and spall liner.

Add-On Armor:

*Appliqué: The appliqué uses pieces of ALON and rubber sandwiched between Ti-6Al-4V plates.

*Side Skirts: The side skirts are the same as the faceplate armor.

*Explosive reactive armor: Asteriox explosive reactive armor mounted along the front and front corners of the hull and along the face of the turret.

*Slat armor: Mounted to the engine to protect against RPG-type weapons.

Armament

Following the relative success of the D/ETTG-I, it was decided that a more powerful gun was needed to compete against newer foreign tanks entering the market. It was decided that for purely logistical reasons, the same bore diameter of 125 millimeters would be retained from previous Imperial tank weaponry. In this case, however, a newer, more powerful round would be utilized.

After a series of competitions between various design teams, there were two primary competetors for the D/ETTG-II designation: one of the main contenders was a liquid propellant-based electro-thermal chemical cannon, promising superb firepower at the cost of price and complexity. Ultimately this design was scrapped in favor of what was seen as the more reliable and effecient (both operating-wise and cost-wise) solution.

Stepping away from the previous design, the barrel was lengthened to fifty-five calibers, and an enlargened breech was chosen for this particular weapon. Designated the D/ETTG-II, this new weapon had a breech designed to accomodate a powder charge for a 140mm gun, with the gun itself firing a 125mm projectile. Coupled with electro-thermal chemical ignition, this latest main gun has superb velocity, allowing for it to completely decimate the toughest of enemy armor.

A ram-based autoloader designed to move up and down with the breech is utilized with the D/ETTG-II, granting it a superb rate of fire. Forty-five 125mm rounds are contained in two armored magazines as well as eight gun-launched anti-tank guided missiles. The magazine itself is built around a feed tray and ram mechanism, designed to tilt with the breech of the gun. Depending on the ammunition the gunner selects, a shell would drop from within the magazine onto the feed tray; the ram in turn would force the round into the breech.

The secondary armament of the Imperator totally departs from the Caesar's weapons loadout. The Imperator's coaxial weapon is a single 23mm D/ACU.230T chain-driven automatic cannon. This weapon is fully capable of puncturing and destroying light armored vehicles, as it is designed to. The cartridge fired by the D/ACU.230T is a 23x135mm cased telescoping ammunition (CTA) projectile, firing the round at a far greater velocity than ammunition of similar length due too its telescoping properties.

The weapon is chain-driven, meaning it uses a chain to cycle the action rather than recoil. The primary advantage of this is increased reliability and controlability over a conventional recoil-operated automatic cannon. The weapon features an adjustable rate of fire of up to nine-hundred rounds per minute. The firing mechanism and the barrel are enclosed in the D-S/HA heat-absorbing and dissipating shroud which absorbs the heat and dissipates it over a wide area. The cannon is also stabilised on double axis' and can fire on the move in a full 360 degree spectrum and at elevations up to seventy degrees and down to negative twelve degrees.

Use of the D/ACU.230T in an armored engagement can include a number of things. For example, it can be utilized against enemy heavy armor equipped with reactive armor as to predetonate the reactive tiles, allowing for a round fired by the D/ETTG-I to more easily penetrate and destroy the target. It is also employed against light armor and other targets softer than a main battle tank, meaning the Imperator's gunner would not have to waste a valuable 125mm round on a thin-skinned APC.

Finally, there is the commander's personal weapon station. Designated the D/ROMCWS-II (Remotely Operated Modular Commander's Weapon Station). This system is capable of mounting virtualy every crew served weapon in the Imperial arsenal, meaning a client has the option of mounting nearly any machinegun in existance. Even ATGM pods can be mounted, if required (although the Imperial military restricts their forces from doing this). Mounted with the coupola is its own electronic scope, capable of up to 25x magnification, and both infrared and low light sensors in addition to numerous digital cameras, allowing for a variety of target seeking options; and a laser range finder, which allows even greater accuracy at range. The scope itself is modular with a variety of options, allowing for it to be easily switched over for use with different weapons, such as anti-tank missiles.

The mount allows for adjustable height and can mount a shield if nessessary. This means that if the commander is riding unbuttoned, he can have the weapon lowered into position in front of the hatch to allow for him to easily access it in the event he is confronted in this more vulnerable position. When utilizing the weapon in a manual fasion, the commander is able to make use of the weapon's scope and other optics.

The primary weapon utilized with D/ROMCWS-II is the 15.7x131mm DMG.157G machinegun. The weapon is fed from a three-hundred round armored box bolted to the roof, fully capable of being restocked with ammunition. It is a recoil-operated heavy machinegun with an adjustable rate of fire of either four-hundred, six-hundred, or eight-hundred rounds per minute. This weapon is capable of easily tearing through thin-skinned targets, and is favored by the Imperial military for its tremendous results when used against infantry.

Countermeasures

To further enhance its defense against all threats, the Imperator utilizes the Armor-Based Active Countermeasures Suite (ABACS), composed of several systems designed to counter every concieved threat on the battlefield, providing the Imperator a superb shield against enemy armor and missile threats.

All defensive systems are tied together in the ABACS. With this systems, the Imperator's active defense systems are tied to the tank's sensor suite, allowing for the active defense systems to leach off of any of the tank's sensors to provide for the maximum amount of coverage throughout the vehicle to ensure any incoming bodies will be detected. The ABACS system is fully automated and tied into an IFF interrogator, allowing for the proper systems to be utilized in a timely manner when nessessary, and do it without causing friendly casualties.

The ABACS system consists of two sections: The detection system, and the response system. The detection system, as its name suggests, is used to detect and identify incoming threats. Numerous sensors on the MAD.V are utilized: the -D/AR-T-41A Millimetric Wave RADAR, D/IRTS-V Infrared Bullet Tracker, the D/WRLR Laser Warning Reciever/Laser Defensive System, and the D/EWV-4A Passive RADAR Detection System.

The response system, tied directly to the detection system, is meant to engage and eliminate the incoming threat using a number of means.

The first system is the latest version of the Armor-based Active Missile Defense System (AAMDS-II) which is a hardkillsystem for countering enemy missiles. AAMDS-II is a dual-hardkill system featuring multiple interception systems. The first system is a development of the SLID system. This component consists of twenty-five guided rocket-assisted interceptor devices and their launcher (built directly into the second system). Each device utilizes a short-burn rocket engine (which propels it to 250 meters per second before burning out ten meters from the firing position) along with maneuvering thrusters to provide a degree of maneuverability. The system is tied directly to the sensor component of ABACS, allowing for maximum accuracy against an incoming threat. Targets are engaged at a standoff range of 250 meters. The second system is similar to an updated version of the Israeli-designed TROPHY Active Protection System (APS), making use of a directional flechette-shot grenade to destroy the incoming body. This system is for ultra close-in protection in the event the other system fails to defeat the incoming body or to destroy threats launched from close range, such as RPGs. It provides full 360 degree coverage of the vehicle in addition to high elevation firing, using two launchers on either side of the turret. The launchers contain both systems, granting ABACS multiple options for neutralizing an incoming threat with hardkill. AAMDS-II makes use of infrared bullet tracking systems and millemetric wave RADARs, and every other detection system found on the MAD.V to quickly and effectively detect incoming missiles and projectiles and engage as rapidly as possible. This allows for the quick engagement and destruction of anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

In addition to this, it also has an anti-missile rapid response system (AMRRS), which makes use of all auxilary weaponry systems (commanders weapon, gunners weapon, any other weapons, unless in use by crew) to rapidly engage ATGM crews. It uses the same systems used by the AAMDS to detect the missile, but instead of firing at the missile, it calculates the point of origin of the launch, and quickly lays down suppressive fire on that area. This especially effective against wire guided weapons.

Softkill weapons include one of the systems found in the detection section of the ABACS. The mini-turreted D/WRLR Laser Warning Reciever/Laser Defensive System is tied directly to a UV laser dazzler. When ABADS picks up an incoming body that meets the proper criteria, it will immediately make use of the D/WRLR's softkill system consisting of a high powered UV laser. This allows for the D/WRLR to overload the optics of incoming laser guided weaponry and dazzle infrared guided weaponry. It can also be used in an offensive manner, automatically dazzling enemy tanks' sensors and blinding them when switched into offensive mode.

Finally the last softkill systems and response system are four, eight-cell 82mm grenade launchers. These launchers can be loaded with IR decoys, RADAR decoys, VIRSS smoke grenades, and any other such systems. The vehicle also mounts a VIRSS smoke generator to add further defense.

There is one countermeasure system not tied to ABACS. The D/MFCDS-IIA mine-clearing system is mounted to the rear of the turret. This system fires a line of detchord up to one hundred yards, detonating it in front of the tank. This allows for a path to be cleared in front of the tank when confronted with a minefield. Creative commanders are certain to find uses for this system other than clearing mines. Six reloads for the D/MFCDS-IIA are present within the vehicle, while two more reloads are located within the system itself and are automatically loaded after firing.

Electronics

The MAD.V has extensive fire control and detection systems, designed to give it the first look and first shot on an enemy. Each tank in Imperial service is directly linked to the Imperial BattleNet, providing up to the minute detail on friendly and enemy positions, providing data from thousands of sources on the local situation and compiling it all into easy to read data.

It uses a D/ADS-41A LIDAR/LADAR system as the primary method of detection in addition to conventional infrared and milimetric wave radar. This system creates a composite image of the outside environment, projecting it on the commander's screens. Rather than measuring the intensity, the system measures the flight time of the photons and therefore the range to target. Coupled with this is the D/AR-T-41A milimetric wave radar. This system features both an advanced, frequency cycling radar, capable of tracking both land and air targets at great distance, and a passive radar reciever, allowing for it to pick up on enemy radars. It is used as both a backup range finder and to detect incoming projectiles. These two systems both aid in fire control, making nessessary corrections, and making a hit on an enemy target all the more probable. However, the milimetric wave radar allows for the flight path of the previously fired shell to be analyzed, sending data to the fire control system, which in turn makes nessessary corrections. Along with these is the D/EOS-13D electro-optical sight, an indium gallium arsenide short wave infrared camera, which provides superior day and night imaging along with the ability to see through camoflage patterns, which supplements the D/HBS-53A 3rd Generation Forward Looking Infrared, granting the Imperator a wide array of options when searching for targets.

All of these systems are tied into the D/AFCS-3A fire control system. This system takes data from all detection modes and turns it all into easy to read data, granting the commander and gunner superb target engagement capabilities. It provides a 360 degree view around the tank, illuminating targets and highlighting friendlies as nessessary, making for excellent all round coordination. This is, in turn, tied to the Imperial BattleNet, which allows for the vehicle to coordinate with anyone else tied into the Net, and for anyone else with access to see what the tank is seeing. The vehicle could also take direct feed from nearby friendly units and grant it further detection capabilities.

This means that the tank can effectively use the infantry (or a nearby drone) as its eyes and ears, if nessessary, allowing for it to keep hidden while other units illuminate targets for destruction.

The D/AFCS-3A can track up to 20 targets, ranking them accordingly, and automatically adjusting the gun to allow for easy engagement. The barrel will automatically move from target to target as they are destroyed, unless the gunner or commander wishes to make a follow up shot, or manually target. The barrel will remain trained on target even as the tank is moving, as the gun is stabalized on an axis, meaning it can be riding over rough terrain and still fire accurately. Data from other tanks, such as the particular vehicle they are targetting, is also factored in, allowing for the vehicles to more evenly disperse their fire, making for a far more effecient engagement. The free-moving auxiliary weapons are also tied in, meaning the Imperator can engage multiple targets simultaniously.

The commander also features a number of personal systems. He has his own thermal veiwer (Commander's Independant Thermal Viewer), the D/CITV-I, allowing for him to search for targets independant of the turret. The D/CITV-I is a Commander's Independant Thermal Viewer system with full 360 degree rotation. The commander's hatch, in addition to mounting his weapon station, features a bank of digital cameras, designated the D/CIDCS providing for a 360 degree view of the surrounding environment while buttoned, and is capable of viewing in low-light scenarios.

For communications, the MAD.V utilizes the D/ARS-31G communications suite, which shares target information with friendly units, gathers information from friendlies as nessessary, and processess it, sending it to the proper systems on board the tank. This also allows for units to easily coordinate attacks, airstrikes, and even reorganize into new units, all on the fly. It also is tied into the Imperial BattleNet, allowing for it to continually update the commander with GPS data and other reports. The fact that the tank is EMP hardened means that the majority of these systems are flat panel radio systems, tucked under the armor, making for excellent mass data transfer. However, a joint laser/radar jamming system can also be utilized as a direct line of sight communications system, transfering data via the laser. This means that communications and data transfer can continue, even if the enemy is jamming commmunications.

A feature retained from the MAD.III Caesar is the ADLOSCS, or, Advanced Direct Line of Sight Communications Suite. This system provides a method of communication that is unjammable, incapable of being intercepted, and crystal clear. By utilizing the laser warning reciever found on the D/WRLR, the vehicle picks up laser signals from friendly tanks. The lasers are used for mass data transfer on a line of sight basis. The signals would contain recognition codes, telling the ADLOSCS' computer that the signal is, in fact, a communication rather than an enemy laser guided weapon. These signals would then be processed like a radio signal and played through. In a sense, it works just like the Imperator's radio system, but operating under a different principal.

A dome-like structure on the turret roof, containing eight lasers, is used for transmitting to other tanks, allowing for it to communicate back and forth with eight tanks simultainiously. However, networking systems would allow for the tank to communicate with vehicles out of its direct line of sight by using other tanks as "mirrors", sending a beam signal over to a tank within the line of sight of the two tanks trying to communicate, which is then sent over to the other tank. It can also make use of unmanned drones in this same fashion, allowing for units to communicate securely over great distance.

Utilizing these communications systems, the Imperator-II is attached to an embedded version of the Imperial BattleNet. This allows data sharing and advanced networking from the platoon level all the way up to the divisional level, ensuring maximum force cohesion and vastly increased lethality, allowing for Imperator-II equipped units to easily outmaneuver less-coordinated foes.

VAAM Amphibious Armored Personnel Carrier

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/vaammarinewd71.png

Overview

The VAAM was designed to fill a massive gap in the Imperial Army's amphibious warfare capability. It is capable of carrying a reinforced rifle squad of marines into battle, from ship to shore, as well as being used as a standard armored personnel carrier for the advance inland. Its ability to hydroplane is a key asset, allowing for it to move across water at an astounding speed of 25 MPH and bring its precious cargo to shore far more quickly than other similar designs.

The VAAM was also designed to provide superb protection to the crew and dismounts, with the front hull capable of resisting 40mm API fire. The armor can further be reinforced with applique armor. The VAAM's armament consists of a 37mm automatic cannon, putting out some six hundred rounds per minute, along with a coaxial 4M2 medium machinegun, and an optional two-cell Corona ATGM pod. These weapons are mounted on a remote weapons station along with the VAAM's forward looking infrared and other sensor systems.

Also in development are a command variant, the VAAM.C, and a mobile gun system variant, armed with a 125mm electro thermal chemical cannon to provide Imperial Marines with an amphibious medium tank.

FANAT Advanced Towed Anti-Aircraft Artillery System

Overview

The FANAT is a modern towed anti-aircraft artillery system. Armed with a pair of Doomingsland Defense Industries D/ACU.370T gast guns, it is fully capable of destroying virtually all modern close air support aircraft as well as cruise missiles with relative ease. The system seats a single gunner in a fully enclosed cockpit (mounted to the right side of the guns along with its high-powered thermal imaging and electro-optical sensors, with ammunition being contained on the opposite side), allowing for the system to operate in NBC contaminated environments.

The FANAT features a wide degree of electronics. The system's HUD is projected right onto the cockpit canopy with data such as ammunition, barrel temperature, etc. being projected onto a series of LCD monitors, allowing for the gunner to swiftly identify and engage enemy targets. The system is controlled via a joystick and touch screen buttons on the LCD panels, allowing for easy interface and control. The gunner's primary sight is the D/GSA.XI Advanced Targetting Suite, a computerized gun sight, capable of 40x optical zoom as well as seeing in both normal, electro-optical and infrared spectrums via thermal and EO imagers. The D/GSA.XI features a CPU which identifies potential targets and utilizes the FANAT's laser range finder suite to easily gain a firing solution for those targets. Not only is the system highly accurate but, unlike RADAR, it does not alert the enemy pilot to the presence of an anti-aircraft system in the area, and as a result the FANAT gunner can usually count on having the element of surprise when engaging enemy aircraft. Working in tandem with the infrared imaging system is an independantly rotating and elevating laser range finder, which allows for range and airspeed of the target to be gathered and fed to the gunner as well as the fire control computer, which will automatically calculate a lead.

The fire control computer is also capable of being set to automatically acquire targets by the gunner: he need only select which target he wants to engage, and the fire control system will maneuver the laser range finder to gauge the target's range and airspeed and subseqeuently aim the gun. The system will then tell the gunner that it has successfully targetted the enemy aircraft, and he would then simply pull the trigger. The FANAT is also fully networked, allowing for batteries to quickly and easily coordinate with one another in the engagement of targets, or even for individual guns within a battery to coordinate fire, as well as allowing for it to interface with accompanying friendly RADAR systems, such as the wheeled D/MWRA.XI millemetric wave RADAR system, which was designed specifically for use with the FANAT, acting as its primary external search and track system at the battery level.

The FANAT's pricinpal armament is the D/ACU.370T, a 37x200mm CTA L/70 gast pricinple-operated weapon capable of a rate of fire of 2500 rounds per minute (with two of the weapons, it allows for a total rate of fire of 5,000 rounds per minute, although for sustained fire this is generally limited to just 400, using short bursts of fire. Both are fed from a linkless belt feeding from four linked helical magazines mounted to the left side of the FANAT's gun assembly, each holding four hundred rounds of 37mm ammunition each. Two magazines are alotted for each gun, making for a total of 800 rounds per gun.

The FLIDOR system (FLAMMADICIATOR) is a four-shot, reloadable flame-throwing rocket launcher. Nicknamed 'Trogdor' by Imperial troops, it was designed to supplement the Imperial rifle squad by providing it with a highly effective, highly accurate weapon capable of decimating enemy fortified positions and bunkers. Earlier, Imperial flamethrowermen had been equipped with the Diabolus system (AVA Blasa incendiery projector), which was a close range system. FLIDOR provides the same bunker-clearing capabilities with the advantage of greatly increased range and overall effectiveness.

Fed from a four round rocket 'clip' consisting of four prepacked tubes containing prepacked 70mm incindiery rockets, the system is capable of being fired from enclosed spaces courtesy of the usage of the recoilless countermass principal. The rear of each tube is filled with plastic granulate, which effectively limits the backblast of the weapon, thus allowing for FLIDOR to be used from within fighting positions and buildings.

The launcher itself was designed to be as light weight as possible, utilizing high-strength polymer over steel components where ever possible. Fully loaded without the advanced digital sighting system, FLIDOR weights in at just twenty-two pounds. An additional five pounds are added by the Oculus O.CVF digital sighting system generally issued with the weapon, although it must be noted that without the OA.CVF accuracy at range is severely decreased.

The OA.CVF weapon sight grants the FLIDOR gunner with unprecedented accuracy against bunkers and other difficult targets. Making of a tiny CPU system and laser range finder, the OA.CVF automatically adjusts for range as well as the current tube that is set to fire, ensuring that all four shots will be just as accurate. Provided that the gunner takes wind into consideration and isn't under suppressive fire, the fin-stabalized 70mm rockets are capable of being put through a bunker aperture from up to two hundred meters away, with targets such as windows, uncovered, positions, light vehicles, and infantry having considerably higher maximum engagement ranges. OA.CVF is even capable of calculating angle of fire for use with a parabolic trajectory, ensuring that the FLIDOR gunner is capable of employing his weapon to its maximum range if necessary vs. open area targets.

The ammunition utilized by FLIDOR utilize a two-stage rocket motor, similar to that used by the Pilum anti-tank weapon. The FLIDOR's rocket features a single-stage thermobaric FAE (fuel air explosive) warhead designed specifically for use against confined space targets such as bunkers, where it is most effective via its overpressure and incendiery effect. Its kill radius vs. open area targets comes to approximately fifteen meters, which is also the weapon's minimum safe distance. FLIDOR's warhead arms after ten meters of flight. If necessary, all four rounds can be fired simultaneously.

This message is delivered to DDI Corporate Offices by a tall gaunt figure clad in a black cowled robe. In the figure's skeletal hands are clasped a massive scythe, greater than the height of a man; beneath the hood -- hypnotizing those who dare to look -- is only blackness, the inky void of oblivion. Where the figure walks a cold wind follows; its skeletal footsteps cause plants to wither and die and I'm not even going to start on its BO. The gaunt figure is not actually Death or the Grim Reaper; it is instead a spokesperson for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Demons, and commonly speaks (in a doom-laden voice that carries within it the creaking of an iron coffin) at benefits and fundraisers about how maltreatment and misunderstanding turned it from a friendly, loveable demon into an evil dark shadow with no soul. Unfortunately, it is bad at raising money because the audiences to such benefits and fundraisers have never emerged from the venues in which said benefits and fundraisers are held, at least alive; when they do emerge, they have a curious tendency for shambling about like diseased apes, devouring human brains, exploding, and only being vanquished by Ironic Twists of Fate (or alternately Stock Flamethrower-Wielding Heroic Character).

[Translation: I want a MACT.XI; you can ship it home with the misunderstood demon. Payment will be in the form of a large bag of gold containing slightly over $500,000. Alternately, you can have the demon convert various amounts of base metals to gold via alchemy, for a small fee. Ten percent of all profits will go to the SPCD, which is a not for profit org-- well, you get the idea.]

Upon receiving the required thunderstick, the hooded demon spake, THANK YOU, and then, THE EMPEROR SHALT BE MOST PLEASED. Flames leaped from its gaping maw, and the earth trembled; lightning flashed and thunder roared, and there were cyclones, and heavy hail. Dogs and cats trembled fearfully and infants wept; yea, and even stones tried to burrow underground when they heard the dread voice of the Deathly One (also known as Olaf Partridge, as that his name had been before maltreatment transformed him into an evil shadow with no soul). The skies wept blood, and as Olaf Partridge stalked towards the horizon and vanished in a flash of flame (as did thunderstick), his footsteps appeared like runes in an ancient forgotten language, blazing once with pale green fire before disappearing forever. And ever since that day not a single plant chose to grow there, and the soil was irradiated forevermore; and whosoever walked down that same road, stepping in the footsteps of Olaf Partridge, was run over by a bus. If only because... well, what idiot would walk in the middle of a busy road?

The thunder-stick was landed among the ranks of the Empire's invading army as it pushed into neighbouring Croatia, which was about thirty times the size and sixty times as powerful in any respect; but that was inconsequential. And the Deathly One, Olaf Partridge, threw its hooded head back and laughed evilly, despite lacking a mouth with which to do so, and eliciting a stern look from a sexually frustrated flight attendant.

VAE Multipurpose Armored Car

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v383/Doomingsland/doomdesertscouttp1ve7111.png

Overview

The VAE is a four-wheel, aluminum hulled, amphibious armored vehicle. It is impervious to most small arms fire thanks to its advanced lightweight armor composite, and there are provisions for the mounting of a variety of applique systems. The VAE's armor consists of a titanium honeycomb injected with lightweight ceramic foam to provide a high degree of lightweight protection against enemy smallarms. A Spectra anti-spalling liner is also included, further reinforcing the aluminum hull. Hardpoints for the mounting of non-explosive reactive armor are present, allowing the sections covered by the tiles to be capable of withstanding 12.7mm fire and limited protection versus threats such as rocket propelled grenades. Other applique solutions include bolt-on ceramic plates, further bolstering. Slat armor around the engine area is also included. Additionally, the vehicle's tires are of the run-flat variety, meaning that the VAE can continue to operate even after its wheels have been punctured. The vehicle is especially resistant to improvised explosive devises.

The VAE, in order to maintain commonality with other Imperial vehicles, makes use of a domestically produced version of Dat'Pizdy's battle-tested 400 horsepower Mak-INV diesel engine, the same engine utilized by the CMPL utility vehicle. This particular variant, putting out 450 horsepower, is designed to be able to channel power to the VAE's twin waterjets, ensuring that the vehicle maintains a high degree of mobility on the water as well as on land. The engine is rear mounted to allow for easy interface with the waterjets, and has been noted to be extremely easy to maintain and highly reliable in general. As previously mentioned, the engine compartment is protected by slat armor to grant some degree of protection against threats such as rocket propelled grenades.

The VAE's standard armament is the D/ACU.17 automatic cannon, which comes mounted in a remote weapon station. The D/ACU.17 is a heavy-weight gas-operated air-cooled automatic cannon chambered for the highly lethal 23x135mm CTA cartridge. Dual-fed from a lpair of linkless belts out of two two hundred fifty round magazines, the weapon is capable of firing at an adjustable rate of fire of 200, 400, and 600 rounds per minute. When used alongside the vehicle's fire control system and laser range finder, it is capable of engaging enemy targets beyond two-thousand meters. It is suitable for engaging infantry, light armor, and fixed and rotary wing aircraft. A variety of ammunition is available for the D/ACU.17, the standard load usually consisting of APDS and HEI ammunition, although it is rumored that a new class of sensor fused air bursting rounds are being issued in some units.

The VAE's RWS is also capable of being swapped out for a remotely operated ATGM launcher capable of maintaining a pair of Corona ATGMs (12 more rounds stored internally), allowing for the vehicle to be utilized in the anti-tank role. A recent military parade in Urbus Doomanus saw several VAEs equipped with what appeared to be a launcher for a land-fired variant of the Cornix-II ATGM.

The VAE also maintains a highly advanced array of electronics and sensors. The gunner/observer's remote weapon station, in addition to maintaining the VAE's 23mm autocannon, features a variety of detection system, ranging from optical to infrared, and even a laser range finder (which can double as a laser designator when the vehicle is acting in the forward observer role) ensuring that the vehicle can identify every concievable threat from a good distance. Perhaps most importantly, the VAE's communications suite allows for the vehicle to interface with friendly satellites and upload data on enemy forces, as well as maintaining a powerful radio capable of communicating with friendly command structure, making the VAE highly suitable as a scout vehicle. An optional signals intellegence (SIGINT) suite replaces the troop compartment, granting the vehicle further enhanced capability as a scout unit. Because of the wide variety of equipment sported by the VAE, it is suitable as a scout vehicle, a forward observer vehicle, and even a SIGINT vehicle, although it is also definately suited to the armored security vehicle role.

Confirmed. Doomingsland as a nation does not 'buy' or 'sell' slaves; however, Imperial citizens are permitted to purchase and sell slaves, and as such there exist many corporations that specialize in the buying and selling of slaves within the Imperium.

Subject: VAE Purchase

The Ministry of Defense of the Empire of Layarteb has recently reviewed the specifications and performance of the VAE Multipurpose Armored Car. In short, we are very impressed with this vehicle and would like to conduct our own testing regimens. The Ministry of Defense has further authorized the Layartebian Defense Corporation to purchase twenty vehicles, equipped in their basic role, without the addition of the CTA D/ACU.17 autocannon. The wired sum of $24,000,000.00 will be made available to the DDI upon confirmation. Should we choose to accept this vehicle, it will see significant service with the Imperial Layartebian Defense Forces, initially, with follow on orders for the Imperial Layartebian Army and Imperial Layartebian Marines. Due to the sheer quantity of vehicles that we possibly intend to purchase, the idea of domestic production rights or a reduced cost would be very beneficial to our decision making process.

Sincerely,
The Minister of Defense
