100km-50km off the shores of Manchester

The Skyian Combined Fleet had arrived off the shores of Manchester, in full force, with the First and Second Fleets entirely blockading the coast, while the Third Fleet took the main force of men to Ganapati.

Huge swathes of beach had been cleared of everything right down to mines while frigates and destroyers bombarded highways and harbors up to 60km inland with 140mm and 203mm shells, with 90mm shells spraying the beaches and anything 25km from the shore.

Twenty large combat transport ships and hundreds of LCACs escorted by frigates and destroyers closed in on the shore, eager to begin their part in the war.

Above thousands of fighters descended on the shores, ripping into any military equippment left standing, helicopters brought troops in low to secure high ground beyond the beach quickly. UAVs circled the island, marking spots for bombardment.

200km Southwest of Uxbridge

The Forth Battle Fleet had entered range of their 787mm L102 SPETC Heavy Naval Artillery, UAVs had been dispatched forward to mark targets, anything missed by the Whyatican Bombardment was to be targeted, power and water stations were also targeted, along with major roards between cities, and of course, military targets. Dozens of missiles swarmed out of their launchers towards anything hostile, with aircraft providing top cover.

The invasion force was given it's final briefing and were loading into their vehicles, helicopters, transport VTOLS and LCACs, ready for the invasion.

Clandonian Supply Convoy, on route to Clandonian Airport HQ

The convoy was transporting supplies from the port from a Clandonian fleet supply vessel to the forces stationed at the airport. In a usual standard convoy the two larger DROPS and two Bedford TM 8 tonners were protected by two armoured Range Rovers and a Stryker IFV. The convoy had just turned the corner, the streets had been clear of traffic and there was just a sole white van parked up as the middle two trucks passed it the explosion occured ripping the Bedford in half as the drivers cab split engulfed in the firey explosion forcing the trucks several meters into the air crashing back on the road hitting the next truck, the DROP's which skidded and collided as the shards of fire rained down. The two Range Rovers stopped, now the massive fires as the trucks burned, two men from the leading Range Rover ran out to the cab of the DROP's pulling the two injured men out just as the DROP's isocontainer exploded with 20 tonnes of ammo in as the nearby building was englufed causing it to crash down catching the fleeing men. As the only survivors left the Range Rover in the rear and the Bedford in front of it radioed in for assistance and medical evacuation as they pulled their burnt comrades.

'This is tango-six we have been ambushed requesting assistance and medevac!' Shouted one of the gunners of the only surviving Range Rover as more after explosions ingulfed the street.

Ten minutes later reinforcements arrived in the form of the 16th Air Assault Brigade who evacuated the survivors and the corpses by helicopter. There were now eight dead, it was a heavy toll for such a close community of 140th Logistics Regiment.

Clandonian Airforce Command HQ, Kensington Airport

'Authorisation granted, destroy target that place is swarming with insurgent activity the Commander wants the block flattened. Got that captain?'

'By your command sir.' As the voice of from the radio of the B-1B Lancer as it began its strikes, carpet bombing an urban block had never been seen before as over 50 cluster and dumb bombs fell out theb belly of the B-1B Lancer that was on patrol for evenualities just like this. There would be massive colateral damaged but no one cared anymore, this was war Eurasia needed to be silenced once and for all.

The Allaneans helped Whyatica as well, but theirs was a different way. First of all, they wore armor – the famous BDU-64 armored suits – which as often as not would render a pistol bullet, and even quite a few rifle rounds, useless. Second, they used 'drones' – actually, versions of the engineering robots that bomb squads use in many countries – to accompany troops and engage insurgents in combat. Even where insurgents scored a 'kill' on one of those robots, Allaneans would merely mock and send out another one.

Regardless, seventy-five Allaneans were killed and three hundred and eleven wounded.

UAV's and drone light helicopters patrolled the skies, together with Boneharvester helicopters. The Iraq War tactic of engaging attacking insurgents from over the horizon was taken to a new level – as well as the use of Active Denial Systems. All too often, the Allanean soldiers would not even bother to climb out of their armored vehicles to engage the enemy – a large dish ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Denial) on the top would simply turn, and attacking insurgents within 250 meters would begin to writhe in terrible pain.

More interestingly, Allaneans began to mount these devices not on vehicles, but on top of telephone poles along their patrol routes. These would be coordinated with coaxial CCTV's, and all too often, an insurgent would find his skin burning when he merely began setting his ambush.

Interestingly, those who would try to splice into the devices would find that the ADS devices required a special code to control – one that was only available to main control systems in the Allanean HQ.

Obviously enough, the Allaneans agreed to share the devices with anybody in the Sovereign League.

Machine gun fire opened up from the abandoned, dilapidated, crumbling buildings. The insurgents had learnt from the Allanean savages, and had managed to scrap up a small cache of them from the rubble of police headquarters. These too were utilised to take down the Imperial Marines.

Harley Street, Kensington

The Clandonian bombers flew over Kensington, carpetbombing the block in an attempt to rid the area of insurgents. Two hundred and ninety insurgents died, along with hundreds of physicians and nurses, thousands of sick and wounded individuals. Across the street, a mosque was pummelled out of existence along with a playground. Nothing stirred.

[Highest Encryption]Hello. My people have been watching the conflict in your nation with horror. My highest elite have been working on a way to safely help you defeat the Coalition. Safely as in, not getting invaded by the Coalition. We have come up with three ways to do this. First, we will smuggle in unmarked weapons to the rebel forces, which will include three nuclear mines. Second, we will send in reinforcments from our Unspecified Services to help with the insurgency. Third, we will level legal charges against the Coaltion, accusing them of genocide, attacking other nations (embassies), imprisonment without charge (your president), etc. Please send a reply as quickly as you can.[/Highest Encryption]

"Annius! Send this to who ever claims that they are a leader of the rebellion! If they have any experience in the military or government, they'll be able to decode it!" Andrius ordered.

Allanean losses continued, but Allaneans did not care - they began to spread their ADS system all over their area of responsibility. Soon, anybody who attacked an Allanean soldier, or looked as if he was preparing to do so - planting an IED or setting up an ambush- would begin to writhe in pain.

And the more devices were planted, the less patrols were needed.

In the meanwhile, several leaders, speaking in perfect Londinian accent, began to appear throughout the country, handing out money and weapons to any who would rally around them. They were eloquent, often good-looking and outspoken, and for some reason, the Allaneans frequently tried to assassinate them, and yet always failed. They rallied men around them, and they claimed to have brilliant plans to defeat hthe Coalition. The most famous were – Field Commander Garrick, Field Comander Johnson, and Colonel Gaunt.

The marine division had some solid cover in the M160A2s -- machine gun bullets ricocheted off their heavy armour as the advance continued, with marines spraying fire into houses with machine gun fire coming from them. Main battle tanks bracketed buildings where fire was coming from with high explosive rounds, and fired, sending a 120mm shell into the building which would destroy the buildings instantly. Some marine fire-teams switched to tranquilizer darts in their rifles, shooting at the blockade ahead of them as the tanks inevitably rumbled to the barricades.

As per General Raj-Singh's order, any insurgent captured and brought back to the Imperial base would be treated as prisoners of war, protected by unspoken conventions of war that at least Raj-Singh still believed in. Imperial marines occasionally died as the assault on the 18th at Kingston block began, ducking for cover behind the heavy tanks and firing tranquilizer darts at insurgents. 12.5mm machine gun rounds from the tanks, expertly targetted to hit insurgent arms, legs, thighs, and other noncritical areas cut across the air, attempting to minimize their deaths as much as possible.

Whyatican Military HQ, Kensington, Eurasia
"All units - new orders. Only fire if fired upon. Any soldier that fires on a civilian from here on out will be court martialed and shot. Do you understand?" General Raj-Singh yelled into his headset, and he received 'affirmative' responses from every active unit.

"General." a communications man saluted, and said, "We've intercepted an encrypted telegram. It probably came from one of Eurasia's former allies, possibly Nova Brittanica or Kroando. I've sent it to our cryptology men on the base and on the Hood."

"Send it to the Coalition as well, the more eggheads we get working on this the better.." the General said, dismissing the communications man.

Another explosion rattled Singh, probably a mortar shot that was exploded in mid-air by one of the new ballistics lasers. This battle was just dragging on and getting worse - For every Eurasian insurgent the Coalition killed, more joined the woodwork. It was thankful that they were not very well trained, or armed, but their numbers were doing a little damage to the Whyatican army. Approximately 190 Imperial soldiers had died in the combat from the start of hostilities to now, with many more wounded. Eurasian casualty counts had barely begun..

"Wow..." Kris Markham said as he watched the live video feeds, both IR and normal of the Whyatican Nerve Gas Attack, almost in tears at their brutality. He looked over at the other screen, watching Cravanian soldiers do what he thought was the right thing, working their way, block by block, clearing each building, not being barbarians and brutes, like the Clandonians, he thought as he turned his head to their sector, where he saw two blurs, and then mass destruction. "Shit..." said aloud. somebody's got to tell the world he said, as he began uploading the video files into an email, all of them, and sent them to the Illiorian International News Network. Now the IINN is Illior's CNN, and it is offered as a free broadcast to the world, which is quite nice for the satellite and cable providers as they get free advertising time, so all profits and no losses off of the channel.

Jessica Hairston was sitting at her desk and she recieved the Email. It was an email from some @DD.IG domain, so it was a government leak. She opened it, to find no text, but many attached video files, and other documents attached to describe what was happening and where this was all coming from. One thing lead to the next, and soon there was a commotion as they prepared for a broadcast.

OOC: just saying the event he saw, not what he actually did see. What the videos would consist of, would be seeing a tank fire, a nice big IR boom there, and a smaller one, inconsistent with a normal tank round, and IR signatures falling over, and being extinguished, which would be consistent with a gas attack
Whyatica
02-01-2007, 18:47
OOC:Or consistent with smoke and fire. Your satellites are not magic, they cannot see everything. All you can reasonably tell is that the tank barrel was stuck inside. If your satellites are that magic, you should also be able to tell that armed insurgents had entered the building prior to my tank clearing it.

OOC: yup, it did see a bunch of IR sigs run inside, the couple of Booms, and flashes and things clumping together, then another group running inside... nothing like the magic of IR television (If I remember right, US has some satellites that can see incredibly accurate IR pictures on very close range. Very expensive, but hey, when you got money to throw around, you use it).

“Certainly makes interesting watching” murmured Horton, chief of the Royal Army to Frederick Parkes who was pulling up these items in the chamber of the Joint Chiefs of staff.
“It certainly puts the blocks on the idea that the Sovereign League is just that. Bizarrely the Allaneans seem to be the most effective with those sound systems of theirs. Seems the new doctrines of theirs actually work.”
The Chiefs nodded.
“Assessment of incompetence is also now a factor.” chimed in OV dash 1, its helmet twitching slightly as it appeared to the side of the projection.
“The Sovereign League is proving to be completely unable to handle this kind of situation properly, relying on ground troops to remove the blight, despite air, technological and communication superiority. Units are prone to IED attacks and continue to act as though this is not a street fight.”

“While true OV, the Sovs don’t have the same technological or strategic know how when coming up against a stupid single-minded enemy such as the uprising. It would have been easier to contain them to the cities and not slaughtered every last one of them, much less the horrendous civillian casualties suffered by the Eurasians so far, the thing I have to question is why Liberal-Imperial nations like Praetonia didn’t disarm the populace and use their own MP’s instead of relying on the remaining, evidently annoyed police force? A lot harder for them to be armed when you do hold all the guns.” Horton waved at the images with slight exasperation.

“As stated, incompetence.” replied OV-1.
“Perhaps so.” replied the Chief of the Airforce with a slight twitch of her nose and a yawn.
“Our response?” asked Field Marshal Brown, the new head of the Territorial Armed Forces, the conscripted element of the M.A.F.

“None for now. Merely keeping an eye on what our neighbours can do, if the slaughter carries on in this indiscriminate way we’ll probably make a statement and mobilize some forces, after all they’re a hop skip and a jump away.” whispered the Supreme Commander from his usual shadowy position at the end of the room.

The Joint Chiefs of staff merely nodded.

“Of course we’d run the whole occupation differently, curfews, no-go zones…”
“….random beatings, so much observation that they can’t so much as sneeze without us knowing it….”
“…ordering they hand over all weapons then search and have those who have weapons over a musket shot….”
“…and definitely not be stupid enough to leave their entire police-force and reservist army in situ, we’d have had them confined.”

“On top of all that, we’d have done something similar to what they’re only doing now, cutting off their supplies and making us the only people with food, water and power after a few weeks, so if they rose they wouldn't be able to drink or eat. Not as if they haven't been there long enough before this second rising.” mused Horton.

“Perhaps the reason why they’re making such a mess of this is because there’s several member-nations as opposed to just us?” frowned Kristola, Grand Admiral of the Royal Navy asked.

“Yes, but you’d have thought they’d talk to each other about a response instead of this mess.” jostled Horton again.

“Perhaps….” replied Kristola, her frown getting deeper.

And so the debate raged about the pomposity and reaction in how ludicrous the SL’s command structure, such as it was, was handling the situation in what should really be joint operations under one head, instead of a series of independent squabbles, which the Eurasians could exploit if they had more then a brain stem when it came to this situation.

"Excellent! We have their encryption methods on file - start decoding, damnit, don't just stand there!" Holmes shouted.

"Sir, yes sir!" was the reply from Ford, who began decoding the communiqué. He came back ten minutes later, handing a copy of the transmission to Holmes.

Holmes turned to his computer and sent back a response, encoded as well.

Thank you for your aid. However, Phases I and II will experience a low probability of success, due to the fact that the ports and airports have been shut down, unless you already have units in Eurasia. The best course of action would be to launch a full military invasion of Kensington so that the Eurasian government can take control and direct police and military forces.

[OOC: Midlonia: Um, what? How could we have seiged the whole city and cut off power and water supplies, which you estimate would take weeks, when the entire occupation has only lasted 2 days IC and the insurgency has lasted less than a day. Similarly, you complain that we haven't disarmed everyone, when our troops have been here mere days, and had been here only a matter of hours when the police uprising began. You criticise the massive civilian casualties whilst calling for the city to be carpet bombed (which Clandonian Prime has used, to a more sane extent) and starved...

I normally don't reply to IC posts OOC, because it is bad form in general, but I felt I had to reply to that because it represents a failure to understand what has happened so tragically complete that it could easily confuse a passing reader and lead them to take actions based on false information, confusing the RP greatly. The Colonel thought about the President's offer to make a broadcast calling for calm, then nodded her head. "Alright, I'll see what I can do, but you'll have to travel to our headquarters at the airport. Follow me."

She lead the way out into the rear of the Palace, where the Eurasians would not be able to see their President being loaded into a Regus light tank.

To the front of the building, the renewed uprising brought gunshots. Praetonian troops returned fire from the upper windows of the building. With their height advantage protected by the thick walls of the Palace and crates of food and clean water stored in the cellars, they settled in for a comfortable seige. Occassionally an insurgent would run out into the road to fire an RPG, but each time a rapid response from several marksmen brought them down before any damage could be caused.

Sir William was faced with a difficult situation, but not an impossible one. He tapped his swagger stick on the chart he had had glued to the wall in the air traffic control tower. His officers sat watching.

"This is the main water purification plant supplying the city. This," he tapped on the map again, "is the main power generation system. To win this war we must have a real hold over the insurgents. They don't seem the respond to being massacred in their thousands for no gain of ground and few losses on our side, so maybe they will respond to seige conditions.

"The main centres of resistance are here, here and here," he indicated the areas on the map, "our troops are currently engaging insurgents in each of these areas. The fighting generally goes well, with our chaps supported by tanks engaging an enemy armed primarily with small arms, possessing no armoured support. So far, we have inflicted minimal civilian casualties. I would like to congratulate everyone who was involved with the medical operation following the dispersal of the rioters outside the airbase and the Palace - you made things a lot less worse than they would otherwise have been.

"However, they are slowly wearing us down by attrition. They seem to be mindless drones who never become disheartened. Our men, unfortunately, are not emotionless automata. If this insurgency lasts another 12 hours, I will authorise the wide-scale use of bombers and gas to dislodge and kill the remaining insurgents. Kingston has authorised this strategy. Gentlemen, you have 12 hours to bring this to an end in a way we would like. If not, we will be forced to take a more pragmatic approach."

One of the insurgent leaders in Kensington, simply known as Smith, stood amongst the rubble of his city. He remembered it as it was before the war - a gleaming street, symbolising the nation's hope for a glorious future. He picked up some of the rubble.

And now it nothing more than rubbish, he thought, throwing the rubble to the ground. He couldn't marshal any more rebels - after their torture at the hands of Allaneans, they had lost the will to fight.

Smith pulled out his radio.

"All units, stand down. Our work is done," he signalled. For the first time in years, a tear streaked across his cheek.

Illior - Gas is room temperature. The detonator would not be visible through a building. You would be able to see people dying, but you would not be able to tell why.]

OOC: My point, I would be able to see the people die, and I'd be able to see the IR flares of a 120mm+ gun go off, see the shell explode, which wouldn't have the regular IR signature of an HE, HEAT, or canister round, or a SABOT for that matter, which would signal some type of gas, along with people crumbling to the floor. I never claimed that I could see the gas, but there are signs of it.

Again, at the broken gas line, if it was a broken gas line, the shell's explosion should have ignited the gas, blowing the building to hell, but the shell shouldn't have had enough force or heat, to know a gas main loose and set it on fire. Anyways, it was just the event I was noting, can we please just stop the ramblings?

To the slime lands of Nova Brittanica:

The Heavily Armed Empire laughs at your foolish attempts as I speak now I authorised the deployment of our air wings that if your nation continues its little actions we will classify you as a target in the aim to stop the iinsurgency in the former nation of British Londinium.

This is your only warning, the next time you will know that we are angry is when the Clandonain Air Force is dropping heavy munitions on your cities.

'I suggest we deploy our heavy bomber force, B-2's, Lancers the TU-22M force so we can get their navy. We out number them heavily and with the Coalition involved they would just be a target for invasion, now we have control of bases in Eurasia it will be easy for refueling and means we can deliver maximum Ordnance.'

Spectre of Peace Haunts Eurasia

KENSINGTON, EURASIA - Insurgent activity in Eurasia dwindled to a halt yesterday when police, military, and freedom fighter leaders ordered that attacks against the Coalition forces cease and desist.

"We had to do it. The Coalition just was getting more and more brutal. Bombing hospitals and schools. Torturing Eurasians on the street. For the sake of the country, we had to stop," said a police constable who wished to remain unnamed.

An anonymous territorial who fought against the Coalition had this to say: "We just want our country back. That's all. We elected that guy [Sinclair] and we just want him to run things. We want normality and the removal of foreign troops. This was the best way to do so."

A major leader for the freedom fighters, simply known as Smith, turned himself into Clandonian custody last night. His current status is unknown.

A certain individual by the name of Smith had given himself up to a search and destroy vehicle patrol. He was thought to be just mentally retarded but he was taken in when someone shot a taser rifle at him, strange for a Clandonian soldier to use such mild force. When he arrived in he was processed, over 10,000 individuals had been taken in less then half remained after the quick executions that were done by the military court. This Smith however was something new.
Two Clandonian Prime Interior Security Force officers had been flown in to deal with interrogation. In the early hours of the morning troops burst into his cell and carried him away hooded and his ears muffled to a the interrogation room where the two officers sat, they were experts had used many sinister techniques in the occupation of Naasha and in every day policing in Clandonia.

'So Smith, if thats what your name is. Why did you turn yourself in, you do know you will die, the Clandonian military was lucky to not shoot you. But I think if your helpful they may take your case into account.' Spoke one of the agents, adjusting his body armour and assault vest.

'What do you know about Nova Brittanica, have they been aiding the reistance perhaps you would like something to eat?'

The second agent placed a plate of food on the table, Clandonian officer rations, fine lobster fried in garlic and herbs with olive oil fried chips with garlic mayonaise.

Official Message to All Coalition Forces

Greetings.

As an ally via APOC to several coalition nations, the Imperium Corporation has several recommendations for the way coalition forces are handling this war. It seems that the citizenry of Eurasia are putting up stiff resistance to occupation by the forces of civilisation, and that rebuilding attempts are likely to fail in the short run; most people seem to be too stupid, to put it frankly, to see what would be good for them in the long run.

We recommend that you deal with the British Londinians the Steelian way, the way we did to our occupied Clandonian sector -- closing it down, registering and barcoding all citizens in a database and confiscating their weapons and potentially explosive materials, removing those who do not appear in the database, then putting them to work so intensive they have no spare time to even think of rebellion. Any army or police force should certainly be disbanded, and replaced with occupying forces. After the land is fully under your control, then -- and only then -- should you consider rebuilding a democracy and economy, restoring Sir Phillip Sinclair or another sympathetic leader of your choice to power. The Imperium Corp. has successfully executed such motions in multiple nations, where it is hailed as a liberator instead of vilified as an occupier; within six months of the restoration of a working democracy, the memories of the people will be free of their past hardships and they can be fed practically anything.

We would understand, of course, if you wished to take less exploitative measures; after all, Imperial Whyatica and her allies are not here to make money, but to spread democracy. However, this approach -- near-total lockdown; making sure the citizenry are occupied every waking hour with work, school, community projects, or military training, to take their minds off the fact that they have no voice in their own government as yet; economic rebuilding -- has been shown to work quite well, so we suggest you try something similar.

"I'm starving," replied Smith as he started to eat the comparatively exquisite meal. "Your tasering gave me quite an appetite. You wanna know why I turned myself in? Because I co-ordinated every single attack in Kensington. Who do you think inspired the Metropolitan Police to riot? The fucking Commissioner wanted to wait it out. 'Think of the city,' he whined. I sez to him, 'Fuck the city. Think about Eurasia!' He changed his mind quickly, lemme tell you that much."

'What do you know about Nova Brittanica and EVIL, do they have covert operations in Eurasia?'

The first agent pulled up a chair and sat down. The second walked around the room nodding to the mirrored one way glass where the rest of the team was.

'Your attacks have caused more destruction and killed more of our own citizens than they have killed coalition forces? Why did you carry it on when you knew thousands had already died?'

"First, I think you ought to know who the fuck I am. At least then when I'm shot, my tombstone can read properly. I'm Air Vice-Marshal Vladimir Smith, of the Eurasian RAF. Well, was. I think inspiring a mass rebellion that forced my leader to be deposed sort of made my commission voided. But, back to your questions, good sirs. EVIL? EVIL agents? Probably, yeah. There were, I remember, but Darwin only knows what's happened to them. Nova Britannican agents? That, I can't tell you. Try their embassy...if they're anywhere, they're there."

Smith took a pause to eat some more lobster.

"Delicious, just delicious. Why did I do it? For my country. I'm aware that more Eurasians died than coalition soldiers - unfortunate, but necessary. Think about it this way: back in Clandonia Prime, Clandonians probably would be freaking out when their news outlets show pictures of strategic bombers carpetbombing mosques, schools, hospitals, temples, etc. They wouldn't care that we provoked it, that there were attacks on your convoys - the civilian leaders would want your ass back on the next flight home. And that's why I did it. To try to get you bitches out, so that President Sinclair can go back to building his democracy - he would have done a damned good job, too, if the Coalition hadn't deposed him."

Following the tip sent by the Clandonian government, a marine company advanced to the Embassy district in their occupation zone, along with an M160A2 Phoenix Main Battle Tank. The tank ran over the simple barricades with no problem, which had previously kept the Embassy District intact, minus a few artillery and mortar hits. As the company approached the Nova Brittanica embassy, the tank's gunner loaded a teargas round into the chamber, bracketed the embassy, and fired the tear gas round inside. As it penetrated the wall of the embassy and detonated, Imperial marines began storming the embassy, attempting to capture everyone inside there for questioning..

'Guards take him away, have him shot near the chemical toilet block then have the body thrown in the pit with the others.'

"Nope. He's alive and ready." The guards saluted to each other, and the Whyaticans picked Smith up and loaded him into a waiting helicopter.

A twenty minute flight later, and some 'oops-he-tripped-and-fell' moments, Smith ended up in a room very similar to where he was before, with bright shiny lights. A guard removed his gag, blindfold, and hood, and he would be staring at a rather mean looking Whyatican interrogator. In the corner of the room was a rather insidious looking machine - it was a smaller version of the 'Area Denial' contraptions the Allaneans were using. It was an unspoken threat what would happen if Smith didn't cooperate.

"Mr. Smith. I am Louis, and that is all you will know me by. You are now in the custody of Imperial Whyatica." the interrogator said.

Louis made a motion to the operator, who turned the Area Denial machine up to maximum power and turned it on. The machine was placed in a matter that it would not harm Louis or the operator, but it would begin to wrack Smith with intense pain for about thirty-five seconds before the operator would turn it off. It was a pretty good device for this purpose - no lasting internal damage, just fiery pain from when they start the device to when they turn it off.

After 35 seconds, the operator turned the device off and Louis said, "That's enough for now. Do you know the official body-count for Eurasian civilians? Our men are going and counting. From the last two days of insurgencies, we're counting over sixty thousand, most of them were killed directly or indirectly by your men. 1st Marine Corp, Outside Manchester, Eostre, Eurasia

The landing had gone smoothly, no casualties and soon 3 divisions were on the beachhead, which extended nearly half way across the island and was 10km wide. 150 M560A1 'Rain' Mobile Rocket Artillery Systems were positioned on a bluff. They stood watch with UAVs over the approaches to the city, ready to bombard any enemy that tried to enter or attack the Skyians.

These troops were veterans of the Red Tide War, Lesbian Island Occupation, conquering of Skyian Artic Territories and the Clandonian War. Amounting to nearly 5 years of experience, they were the elite of the elites, they had a 100:1 kill to loss ratio, and almost singled handly conquered an entire nation, nothing could stand in their way.

Mean while closer to the city an Armored Battallion from the 1st Marine Division, with 50 M160A2 'Phoenix' MBTs, and 50 IFVS, either M260A1 or A2, with a 55mm and 90mm gun respectively, rolled towards the city down a main highway, three other battallions were rolling down from other directions, 1 towards the airport, 1 towards city hall and the last towards the harbor, this one was just to head into the city, more specifically the main police headquarters. Although the insurgents had stood down their was still an wiff of war in the air.

The remote 15.5mm Heavy Machine Guns on the tank's roof mounted remote turrets turned around and around looking for anythng hostile, their 120mm guns pointing straight ahead while the IFVs secured their flanks. All vehicles were protected by VAP-ER Active Protection Suites from Mekugi, they had proven themselves in conflicts long ago, while any insurgents that decided to run out and plant a road bomb while the force wasn't looking would get a taste of the vehicle's Advanced Anti-Ambush Rockets (A3R), again from Mekugi were actively scanning the area of enemies with their IR sensors, when they detected a human heatsource they alerted the commander who then decided wether or not to attack the target. With an effective range of 350m it acted effectively like an area denial system.

A column of steel was driving right into town.

Outside Uxbridge, Ganapati, Eurasia

A similar scene was developing outside the city of Uxbridge on Ganapati, no resistance had been encountered and five divisions had been put down, they moved to surround the city while five other divisions moved to take control of Fulham and Leeds, moving down highways to speed their advance, hundreds of planes circled overhead, moving as far inland as Winchester and Hammersmith. UAVs circled all over the island, watchin out for enemies.

It was erriely quiet as the 46th Heavy Division moved towards the city of Uxbridge, not a single soul was seen as the tanks and IFVs moved down the highway towards the cities' heart.

It was almost a knee-jerk reaction.

As missiles streaked towards Clandonia, the Steelian protective ABM system came online, as dozens of long-range rockets streaked towards the ICBMs, three for each missile. With something as large and slow moving as an ICBM, it would be easy to shoot down.

The counterstrike was, of course, the really impressive thing. A first strike was grounds for a retaliation, and this retaliation was quite impressive: ten thousand two megaton nuclear missiles, all of which climbed high into the sky, just below low earth orbit, and rocketed along at Mach 2.7, until they were over Nova Brittanican cities, ports, government centers, and military bases.

Then, they fell.

Quite literally fell -- from traveling at Mach 2.7 horizontally they had gone vertical and were accelerating, quite fast, towards the ground. They would hit at projected terminal velocities of Mach 10.

This alone could destroy a good sized city block. The two nuclear warheads each missile carried, however, would be ejected ten seconds before timed to, exploding and destroying massive areas with pure destructive power. Twenty thousand megaton yield nuclear weapons were soon to fall like snow, really bright explody snow however, on Nova Brittanican soil. Meanwhile, the discarded missile cases would smash into buildings and the like, creating plenty of rubble for the explosions to reduce to dust.

The Imperium Corporation didn't bother to send a farewell note.

The twenty submarines slipped silently below the waves near Eurasia, klaxons went off and the crew jumped and ran to their quarters, they quickly loaded the coordinates they received from CIND-ER and armed the UGM-932 'Har Megido' SLBMs, each submarine carried 24 of these fearsome weapons, and each was equipped with eight three megaton 'clean' thermonuclear warheads. Making a total of 480 missiles and 3840 warheads, they were joined by thre more identical patrols across the world, making a total of 1920 missiles and 15360 three megaton warheads.

The destruction of Nova Brittanica was assured.
Praetonia
03-01-2007, 00:01
As early warning radar began to feed through that ICBMs were mere minutes away from impacting on Praetonian soil, with no way to tell their cargo, it was assumed, as proceedure stated, that they carried nuclear warheads. As such, across the oceans of the world submarines began the firing sequence to unleash a vast barrage of nuclear counterfire on behalf of the Imperial Praetonian Navy. At the same time, nuclear anti-ballistic missiles blasted away from satellites positioned to counter just such an attack. Laser weapons were employed to engage the enemy streaking at mach 20 towards Praetonia, whilst across the land warning sirens sounded for the first time in living memory. People scattered towards those shelters available, whilst those who were too far or didn't know where to go tried to find undergound carparks, or just sat down in the middle of deserted streets and awaited the inevitable.

Of course, it did not come. With merely 20 missiles in the air and an immediate comprehensive reponse, they were destroyed before they hit the ground. Within an hour, the all clear was sounded, although not before many thousands of people had taken their own lives or been killed in accidents trying to get themsleves to safety. The nuclear response, once activated, could not be taken back, nor did anyone feel that that would be particularly appropriate anyway. Two thousand missiles made their way across Nova Brittanica and then, as the missile casings dropped away, eight warheads of 500 kilotonnes each split away from each missile.

Sixteen thousand warheads fell towards their targets. Many were aimed at Nova Brittanican cities, but there were enough to blanket the entire country with destruction.

"I've had enough waiting. Fire twenty warning nuclear ICBMs into each of the Coalition nations. Ten biological IRBMs into Kensington. Hmmm. I want those biological weapons to have an Anthrax flavor." The Most High Academe said.

All of the ordered missles were fired at the Coalition Nations and Kensington. The following telegram was sent to the Coalition Nations:

You were warned.

Atal Amner appeared on the television on Caranda News Network via the emergency broadcast system. He sat at a table, eating a steak. He sharpened his knife a few times and began in earnest. His tone was level, he interspersed his speech with eating, a mad light in his eyes.

"Recently, I have been informed of the nation of Nova Britannica launching nuclear weapons against allies of the Glorious Military Junta. I am now speaking to you, Most High Academe of Nova Britannica. This move was irrational and unacceptable. We were willing to let you continue on your inferior ways if you did not interfere in the Londinium situation. However, you have tried our patience to the breaking point."

"As you may or may not be aware, No Endorse has the Tenfold Tradition. That is, for every person killed by the target nation, ten of the target nation's citizens will be killed. However, due to inaccuracies of thermonuclear warfare, we are forgoing this time honored tradition for a much more popular 'HULK SMASH' move." He made the quote symbols with his hands, beginning to grin.

"As such, you are to be informed that I am invoking the Strategic Attack and Defense Initiative. You will now be greeted with a bombardment of GLORIOUS thermonuclear weapons. They will airburst at about five hundred meters in flawless formation, one in the center with seven surrounding, in such a way that their three point five pounds per square inch overpressure zones overlap. The colliding shock waves will cause far more casualties than otherwise, and will rend large tracts of land in your nation totally barren. We are only targeting major cities and military installations, citizens in the country will be perfectly safe, and should be able to continue on as normal, except for radiation hazards."

"In the event that any of our nuclear weapons are shot down in flight, ten shall be fired to replace them, to ensure that the location that was spared is suitably purified of your filth. As of now, there are merely seven missiles being launched per major city you control. I suggest you take your licks and accept the losses inherent in such a graciously light bombardment. Otherwise, we can pull from a rather large tactical and strategic reserve to ensure that your nation will not be inhabited by human life for a good thousand years. I invite you to come outside and watch our missiles impact, it should be a very impressive light show."

The screen cut to a televised view of one of No Endorse's many silos opening. "We tried to help you understand, now we will make you understand." The connection was terminated.

=========================================

Across No Endorse, the great nuclear silos awoke. They belched flame as missiles took off one by one, orienting themselves in the time-honored positions and arcing across the sky. As they reached their zenith, they began releasing their re-entry vehicles, and dove towards the nation beneath them. The lightshow, right now appearing to be a simple meteor shower, was about to get much, much deadlier.

ooc: yes, part of Amner's last phrase credit to Godular

As for how many I'm launching, I'm by far the most sane of the group. Major population centers and major military installations are getting hit, nothing else. Average yield per weapon is 50 kilotonnes

"Have you sent the e-mails with the library info on them?" asked Andrius Sapientia

"Yes" replied his advisor.

"Good. Now, before the missles kill us, launch everything we have." ordered the Most High Academe.

"Yes, Your Wisdom." responded the advisor.

All of seven thousand IRBMs were fired into British Londinium, biological, nuclear, chemical, and regular. Meanwhile, nine thousand ICBMs were split between each Coalition nation. They too were also nuclear, chemical, biological, and regular.

Damage

The main islands of Nova Brittanica had, quite literally, completly vanished. Huge tidal waves were sent off, to damage British Londinium land, North America, Europe, and parts of South America and Africa. These were only added to when the deep sea colonies were hit, creating a marine crisis in the Atlantic Ocean. What's more, the former colony turned province of Terra Luna was wiped off the lunar surface. The explosions created huge craters where the land hadn't been destroyed. On the Moon, a massize Lunarquake shook the moon.

The two Commander Puriton Capital Submarines were built for tasks like this, each carried three hundread and eight warheads that contained six multiple indepedant rentry vehicles each had around 2 MT's of destructive power.

'Captain, we are confirmed to launch via Skynet.'

'Very good take us to 20 metres depth, fire at will.'

'By your command captain.'

As the two massive submarines, over 2 km in length launched their mother of all payloads directed to strike with the other assets from the Coalition which had been launched by now. With another six hundread and eighteen missiles incoming , forces were told to halt their expensive bombardment to see if Nova Brittanica was totally hit. The pictures from space command were seen to be impressive as shuttle crews put their anti-flash glasses on as the immense nuclear flashes could be seen far from orbit.
Space Union
03-01-2007, 00:13
Space Union's nuclear arsenal had not been used in the many years of it being operational. The closest it had come was during the Saharistanian conflict but in the end that turned out to be a hoax. But this time, it was real.

Word had arrived only minutes before that the rogue nation of Nova Brittanica had directly assaulted the Union's allies Whyatica, Clandonia, The Silver Sky, and other SL allies occupying BL. It had fired 60 ICBMs at the Union's allies. The response had been quick from its allies. Thousands of ICBMs had been fired and would soon annihilate the entire nation of NB.

But Space Union was offering a different response. It was going to use a weapon that it had never used before except in testing purposes. The gigantic Black Knight Heavy Lifter Rocket had been modified by Space Union scientist into a gigantic ICBM. Because of their size, only one was available to fire since it took a couple of days to prepare one and only one was actually on alert at all times in case of a situation in this climate.

The massive rocket fired its gigantic engines as it slowly accelerated into the blue sky with its deafening engines roaring out almost 100 million lbs of raw thrust. This ICBM soared into the sky as it picked up its speed and quickly broke the sound barrier and soared on. It was going to travel 5,000 km to the the capital. To make sure that it could resist any ABM shields, its surface was highly reflective from lasers and it featured over 500 onboard AAM that would spring out at any incoming interception method against it.

The rocket plummeted down into the atmosphere as it set down to 50,000 feet before letting itself rip. A gigantic explosion caused by a 2.75 gigaton nuclear warhead shook the nation as the blast destroyed any survivors human and inorganic alike. Nothing would be left. No survivors. No n00bs. Nothing. Only smoke.

IWSS Gorgon
"Oh shit." the sensor officer said as he watched nine thousand ICBMs rocket up from the silos of Nova Britannica.

"DROP ONE OF THE NUKES ON THEM..DO IT NOW!" the Captain roared, and the tactical officer's shaky hands inputted the command, and four 2 MT nukes dropped out of the missile tubes, heading to the cluster of ICBMs. Detonating, the vast majority of the ICBMs were wiped out, the remaining ones being left for allied satellites and the Gorgon's own anti-space asset laser arrays.

IWNS Hood Battlegroup
"Thousands of inbound contacts, sir, IRBMs headed to the mainland." the sensor officer said, getting a little panicky as well.

"Use the atomic rockets, knock them out of the sky. The automatic defenses are already on!" the Admiral yelled, watching lasers flash out from the fleet to disable hundreds of IRBMs on contact. Four atomic rockets, spreading themselves out to do the most damage, rocketed out of the VLS tubes of the Hood, their shockwaves destroying the vast majority of incoming IRBMs on contact, with the remaining ones being left for anti-ballistics lasers and allied assets.
Steel and Fire

Flying over the scene, a lone Steelian fighter jet captured an image of the tidal wave roaring out across the sea as the lands that used to be Nova Brittanica simply ceased to exist. Several days later it began to circulate on the internet with the caption, "PWNT".

Steelia II

The computers were watching. They were always doing so, always scanning all Imperial controlled land for anything that might possibly threaten Steelia.

As missiles were detected on a trajectory directly for the Steelian Overlands, the computer automatically upgraded itself to red alert. The same happened, almost instantaneously, across all Steelian controlled territory. While the Overlands were mostly bombed-out empty space from decades of nuclear testing and chemical waste dumping, they were frequently home to training missions; almost a hundred thousand Enlisted were up there.

The order was immediately sent for them to evacuate and withdraw to strategic tunnels. Meanwhile, Ares came online, the supercomputer that controlled all Steelian defences. As the missiles entered range, plunging down towards Steelian land, the computer -- with the Operator's assistance -- authorised the immediate launch of counter-missiles.

Hundreds of low yield nuclear counter missiles were expunged from launchers, exploding amongst the incoming missiles. Many were taken out this way. More met a solid line of counter-missile rockets, almost forty thousand of them. Still more were zapped by laser defences or destroyed by rolling airframe missiles.

But no defence system is perfect. A hundred and seventy missiles made it through and began to impact the Overlands.

Shockwaves spread through the ground to the Underlands; buildings shook and windows broke. Some of the less expensive housing collapsed; a uranium mine caved in, trapping workers inside. Above, the land continued to be battered with explosions as toxins and poisons were released into the atmosphere, where they mixed with all the toxins and poisons that were alreeady there.

Finally, it was over. The missiles had spent themselves. Due to the defences around the few Steelian unprotected harbours, only two missiles had actually hit anything much of value; a major pier had been completely gutted along with forty workers and a gunboat they were servicing.

Otherwise, life continued as normal. The workers were, of course, shown a video of the replusion of the attack to galvanise them into making more rockets, more ABMs, more lasers, etc. to replace the rather significant number spent in the confrontation.

In the Steelian sector of occupied Clandonia, a roughly similar scene was played out; the Steelians contributed, of course, to the Clandonian defences, but eventually used it primarily as a political tool to get the Ps to work harder. Even the one nuclear missile that did hit a populated area, killing over three hundred thousand, was used to galvanise the workers with hatred for the Enemy (whoever it might happen to be), whereas the Steelians were portrayed as heroes who had valiantly tried to prevent the missiles from reaching the citizens.

High Earth Orbit, Brilliant Pebble Constellation 'Nero'

As soon as the first missiles had been launched at the coalition forces a brilliant pebble constellation was moved into place inbetween NB and The Silver Sky, thousands of brilliant pebbles, nearly a tenth of the entire arsenal of 120,000 Brilliant Pebbles, most of the missiles were intercepted before they could get to half of their arc, some brilliant pebbles were even armed with nuclear weapons and intercepted the missiles high in the atmosphere.

Meanwhile MIRACL mirror platforms reflected the lasers from ground based installations onto other missiles, destroying several hundreds of the IRBMs before they got to space. More were taken out

Skyian Combined Fleet, Eurasia

Meanwhile on the seas the Skyian Fleets fired their MIRACL lasers towards the orbital mirrors which reflected them onto the IRBMs, wiping them from existance with an invisible hand, it would be as if god himself was helping the Coalition. Hundreds of hypersonic interceptors and ultra long ranged SAMs rocketed into the sky, intent on intercepting the enemy missiles, and so they did, not one missile made it through.

Allied Union of Velkya

Hoho, they did it now.

As the enemy missiles entered the boost stage, thermal imaging and RADAR detection satellites around the Haven sphere of influence calculated the trajectory of the ICBMs. Once confirmed to be headed for Whyatica, The Silver Sky, and Praetonia, the orbiters began to broadcast targeting data via encrypted Datalink to both Velkyan and allied defensive anti missile platforms. This is what the massive grid of orbital defensives over the northwestern section of Haven was designed for. Velkyan kinetic energy interceptors, essentially hypersonic missiles with a tungsten tip, flew out by the thousands towards the incoming ballistic contacts. Any enemy missiles that slipped through this first layer of defense were engaged by a second wave of interceptors, causing more silent explosions to ripple through the void above this beautiful azure sphere called Earth, small balls of light prancing around the debris clouds that were burning up over the western oceans.

It looked like a video game, or an old space flick. As the last of the second wave of interceptor missiles reached their targets, the last space based defensive weapons opened up: the directed energy weapon relays. LASER and MASER platforms powered up, sending invisible beams of light and heat towards the remnant of the enemy attack, frying guidance systems and ripping fuel tanks to shreds as small groups of basketball shaped "brilliant pebbles" ripped through the survivors. Allied Union Air Force operators would claim over two thousand "kills" that day, not wasting a single shot, a testament to the advanced fire control systems that had come into being in the last decades during the Orbital Defense Initiative of the late 20th century. Now that the nuclear attack had been largely repelled, the Velkyan response had come from the Presidential Office at Bright Hill itself.

DEAD RAIN, RPT, DEAD RAIN.

A designated launch code for a full-scale retaliation against any offender. Traveling down the chain of command with unnatural speed, the order reached a pair SSBNs on an extended patrol to observe allied combat operations against Eurasia. Minutes later, a group of nuclear tipped cruise missiles ripped out of the submarine's vertical launch cells and burst through the water, their solid rocket boosters’ telltale white exhaust visible for miles as they reaching cruising altitude. These missiles were targeted at every major population center and military installation of the Nova Brittanicans. Within a few minutes, the remainder of the first wave ripped from submarine vertical launch cells and land based silos, as well as a few orbital mother satellites. Every form of atomic and thermonuclear ordinance from nuclear tipped cruise missiles to ICBMs carrying ten multi-megaton multiple independently guided vehicles rose up as one, representing the first military deployment of nuclear weapons in Velkyan history. Nearly three thousand warheads (set to airburst to maximize damage and minimize fallout) with an estimated yield of over a single gigaton of explosive force made their way through air and space to reach their target.

As the rain of death emerged from Haven, emergency resupply plans were enacted. Mass drivers across the mainland began to catapult cargos of kinetic interceptors and more brilliant pebble swarms into orbit, replenishing the standardized ammunition stocks of allied satellites in case of a retaliation from a different angle, as cost effective disposable cargo rockets also lofted more satellites into orbit. Should anyone's feelings be hurt, they would be ready.

Even though all IRBMs were destroyed, they still left their poisons in the skies over British Londinium. Also, as Nova Brittanican Fiji was also nuked, the massive amounts of radiation would find their way into extremly nearby British Londinium, further causing poisonous damage. The Signal was received, the Massive Generators surged their hellish Energies forth, rippling through the conduits and relays creating a lattice of energy, surging and twisting through the circuits, of the island, the air glowed and tightened, constricting as the prodigious energies were focused to malign purpose, a great thrum filled the air as the temperature increased, and in the evening skies a great light ripped forth, the earth itself shuddered, the atmosphere was pierced by the light surging forth in a massive torrent as it impacted the awaiting relay, it howled as if tore by a great and terrible pain as the monstrous energies were redirected, the weaving network of satellites alit the night skies with unholy energies, the skies were lit brighter than ever before with the light, forming a massive net as it was relayed to it's deserving target, the energies converged on one final satellite which channeled the energies over a colossal area, the emission was a terrible thing to behold, a great shaft of blue light had been directed at the lands of Nova Britannica, such a fury had never before been unleashed, and the relay satellite dissolved in the fury, before being redirected again to another satellite as the energies continued to pour out in a hellish stream, buildings would surely melt, the people themselves would dissolve in the hellish fury, the land itself would splinter and shatter away, Another Satellite flared into Indecasence, and finally the fury halted, the Remaining Satellites altered their orbits, setting into different paths in the celestial dance.

"... this just in. A massive nuclear barrage has wiped the nation of Nova Britannica, the President is now holding a press conference."

Sergei Ilyanov was dressed in his fancy suit, standing behind a podium with the Rosian Coat of Arms behind him. You could see cameramen, multiple microphones, people, and whathave you. He began. "The Coalition that was heading the rebuilding effort in Eurasia was recently attacked via ICBMs. Nuclear ICBMs in fact." This of course is false, but he doesn't know that. "Thankfully, the missiles were shot down. It's what happened afterwards that is of importance. After the barrage was launched, the Coalition launched one that Rosian scientists estimated to be of 93,000 megatonnes."

A collective gasp goes throughout the audience.

Sergei continued. "In fact, we have a film."

A projector started, and a film of random nuclear explosions were shown to the Rosians while the 1812 Overture was played over it. People were oohing and aahing and a little baby said to his mother. "What's that mommy?"

"That would be death, dear." The mother said in kind.

After the film was over Sergei continued. "Alas if it could only end there. The Britons responded with an estimated combined assualt of 14,000 missiles. Strangely enough these missiles were shot down, and where they landed caused minimal damage. That of the hobo variety."

He paused. "It is then that the Rosian Republic must say this, nuclear war is bad. Very bad, and we hope that the annialation of Nova Britannica off the face of the Earth teaches all of us something, death is bad."

The Rosians nodded sagely.

Sergei continued of course. "That is not to say the Coalition gets off lightly. We must say their use of nuclear weapons was a bit... much. But alas, we understand. Your countries were threatened and you had to strike, I just wish it could've been dealt in a less painful way."

Cravan
03-01-2007, 01:13
((Consider it like this was posted someplace earlier. =P ))

The Cravanian orbital network too chimed in as ICBM's poured into the heavens, the Divine Shield network finally stepping up to the plate. The orbital network which consisted of Brilliant Pebbles-type satellites and of orbital Excalibur-type MIRACL ABM lasers sounded off, intercepting a majority of the inbound missiles. In addition, the ground based network of ABM missiles and lasers also made an attempt to literally create a shield of firepower over Cravan. Cravanian defenses also made an effort to shield Clandonia to the north, filling in any gaps seen in the Clandonian network.

In all, a lone missile punched through the defenses, striking the heart of Richtor. Richtor, a major city of 35,000,000 souls located in southwestern Cravan, was literally wiped off the map as a thermonuclear warhead detonated in air over the city. It spread radiation for at least one hundred miles before winds from the Razgriz Bay blew it harmlessly south into neighboring nations. Nations Cravan did not care much for. An estimated death toll in the millions was stated, but it was impossible to ever know the true number of souls extinguished.

Cravna itself, the jewel of the Empire, had been spared, since it was the largest concentration of anti-missile defenses in the nation. The Nova Brittanians, however, would not be so lucky. When word of the nuclear threat had arrived the Emperor retreated to his underground command bunker, deep below the Palace. And it was here he would order Cravan's first nuclear retaliatory strike.

The Emperor sat at the central table of the war room, the clock on the wall ticking away the seconds harshly. Major General John C. Addams approached him, and motioned for a younger officer to come. The younger officer lifted a leather suitcase onto the table, which was cuffed to his wrist, opening it with a key produced from the Emperor's jacket pocket. He uncuffed the suitcase from his wrist, and turned the contents towards the Emperor. Inside was a laptop, and a direct line of satellite communication to the ISDC: Imperial Strategic Defense Command. Without saying a word, General Addams produced a small card from his breast pocket.

"Sir, please recite your security launch codes."

The Emperor, gazing dreamily into space, recited the codes by memory, all emotion in his voice lost. The clock's ticking seemed to get louder as the seconds passed.

"Golf, echo, lima, four, three, two, one, one, nine, juliet, foxtrot, seven, seven, four, indigo, bravo, charlie, three, one."

The General turned to Head Director Gallens, a grim look upon his face.

"Do you confirm the Emperor's decision to launch WMD?"
"I do."

With that, the General lifted the red phone.

"ISDC, this is Falcon One. You have a go. Repeat: You have a go. Use of the Lima-Two Doctrine is authorized."

He set the phone down and turned to the strategic display which lined the back wall. And hundreds of red dots lit up on the board, both orbital and ground-based missiles.

Nuclear war was upon the people of the Libertarian Empire. The first in its history.

In all 5,000 missiles had been launched upon the people of Nova Brittanica, well over 35,000 warheads in the form of MIRV's rained down upon Nova Brittanica. Only adding to the carnage which would be unleashed by nations around the world.

IC:
"WE HAVE FAST MOVER DUST OFF!" An officer in the corner of the Strategic Air and Space Command headquarters began to scream in fright. "MULTIPLE DUSTOFFS! COUNT SIXTEEN THOUSAND! NOVA BRITANNICA! MULTIPLES INBOUND!"

The base commander sprinted to the tactical display. "Mary mother of God.... what have we done?"

=============================================

Air Raid sirens sounded across No Endorse in those places that could be informed in time, calling the people into shelter. Those places that couldn't be would have to take their chances.... Hopefully, they would never see what hit them when it hit. They would never feel it or hear it. The only sensation would be a blinding white light, and then silence.... However, the missiles had to hit first, and No Endorse would not go down without a fight.

It lacked many orbital assets, but those few that it still possessed were brought online rapidly. Chemical lasers shot across the sky, igniting the fuel tanks of incoming missiles. Masers fried electronics, and half-inch ball bearings shredded the thin skinned vehicles. However, the missiles kept coming. As each satellite disabled one, two more slipped through. As a maser threw one off course, three continued, driving straight down.

Fortunately, help was on the way. ALDA, short for the Andorran Laser Defense Array, placed square in the heart of No Endorse's Andorran plateau, had finally activated. It began rapidly cycling its lasers through their paces, firing as fast as possible. But first one, then another emitter overheated, and its huge mirrors began to warp under the stress. Finally, No Endorse launched its last interdiction missiles, in vain hopes of staving off the remaining nuclear weapons. But many still dove on, ignoring the deaths of their brethren. A few final missiles fired, and then the nation hunkered down, awaiting the outcome.

=============================================

As the dust cleared, the damage was catastrophic. Air raid shelters had protected much of the population from the biological and chemical attacks, but there was nothing that could tame the fury of a nuclear charge. ALDA was no more, it had taken two nukes early on in the impact sequence. Quickly following was the city of Heisen Bay, three hundred miles from the Capital of New Heisen. Other reports came in slowly. The ravaged town of Stumpy point, still recovering from nor'easter Mary, had been exterminated by chemical weaponry. Men and women lay dead in their cars, engines still running, as they waited in the intense gridlock to get out of the city.

But nothing even approached the horrors in the city of Lover's Leap. The city where the nation's defense net failed. The city on a cliff, the once proud half way point on the huge rail lines that arced between Caranda Upon Tyne and New Heisen. Three nuclear weapons had struck in a tight pattern, followed by a few straggling chemical and biological warheads. For some reason, one which will remain hidden forever, many of the sirens did not activate. Countless millions were simply vaporized in cleansing nuclear flame, replaced with nothing but a mere shadow on the concrete. Be they going to work, to school, to church, or simply sitting at home and watching the news, they were killed without mercy.

Tube systems pulled everyone they could out of contaminated areas, and the nation once again looked to Atal Amner, their leader and protector. The man who had brought this horror upon their heads, the man who had proclaimed the ability to protect them from all harm. Where was he now? What great proclamations did he have for the charred remains of Old Heisen Bay? But they did not need to wait long.

=============================================

Atal Amner appeared once again on the television, looking on the verge of tears. He sat in what appeared to be a large airliner, flanked by his most trusted aids. He glanced around, looking intently at someone beyond the camera. "Is it on? Does the connection work?" A voice from somewhere near the camera assented, and indicated that the camera was rolling.

"My fellow No Endorsians," His once crisp and level voice was slightly uneasy, making it clear from the outset that something had shaken the iron resolve of the Prime Minister. "I come before you under grave circumstances. I understand that many of you are unable to see this broadcast, and that many others lie dead before you."

"It is my wish to explain the situation to you as fully as possible. The fires that killed your friends and neighbors were sent by the nation of Nova Britannica," The name was spat out with fury unheard of in Amner's normal speech. "An ally of British Londinium through the E.V.I.L. alliance. They made the first strike against the numerous members of the coalition, launching weapons where no agression had been even implied. As you all know, No Endorse retaliated. Unfortunately, Nova Britannica has also made the last strike. They fired weapons just before ours reached their targets, unleashing upwards of nine thousand delivery vehicles at the numerous coalition members, and by extension, No Endorse. British Londinium was also hit. Unfortunately, we are still estimating damage there."

"Some of our cities and towns are in ruins, as are some of our great defense fortifications. It is likely that many of them can never be restored, and will need to be relocated. Casualties are inestimable, and if I were to merely list the statistics, it would hardly serve to represent the tremendous loss of life that this nation has experienced. However, the sacrifices of your friends and family HAVE NOT BEEN IN VAIN!"

"Even as we speak, the tidal waves from the destruction of Nova Britannica are sweeping across the globe. Where once was high land, we have made shallow water, where once tall building stood, we have created a spotless sheet of radioactive ceramic. However, we must not focus on the damage done to any party in this situation."

"The waves from this strike are a symbol of the changes our great nation and our allies are making in the world. We are not merely throwing our weight around, trying to kill as many as possible before, and I quote, 'the shit hits the fan.' We are eliminating evil and ignorance in every way. In this cleansing fire, we have shown willingness to endure unspeakable horror to exterminate those who would oppose the forces of intelligence and enlightenment. And in the coming years we must band together even more. Life will not be easy for some time. However, we must strive to maintain stability and peace."

"Before I conclude this message and turn you loose to begin to rebuild, I would like to make comments on an additional matter. As many of you may or may not know, First Lady and my beloved wife Violet was on a tour of the northern territories last week. She was returning to New Heisen by high speed rail, and was passing through the city of Stumpy Point when the chemical bombardment struck the town." His voice faltered, and he took a few breaths to calm his nerves. "She is currently on a High Speed Nuclear train traveling to an undisclosed location for treatment for toxin inhalation. I have been informed that her condition is critical."

"I will now proclaim No Endorse's new stance to the world. All of the previous allies of British Londinium will stop at nothing to achieve their insane ends. E.V.I.L., this means you. Every man, woman, or child who previously supported British Londinium is given one warning. Renounce your support or we will make you renounce it. Every scrap of support for the previous oppressive government shall be eliminated from existence. I call upon my various allies in this time of strife, let us finish this job before millions more must die at the hands of these maniacs."

The transmission cut off abruptly, leaving a stunned silence. People looked at each other, and then around at what they had left. Many were thankful that the weapons had been blocked in their areas. But far too many looked out upon scenes of devastation and despair. Many more would never see again.

Klaxons went blaring in the ISC, red lights were flashing, and it was in general, chaotic. With the news of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles entering Cravanian airspace, all of Illior's home threat levels raised, with the brilliant Pebbles system on full active, ground based ABM missiles went to full auto. It was too late though, to help the advanced Cravanian system take out any of the missiles, as Illior was too far away to do much good.

"Fucking nukes," The commanding officer thought to himself, as he picked up the phone to call the chairwoman, and the chairman of defense.

What a nice day, Erika thought to herself as she looked out her window at the Public gardens. She was remembering that fateful day, how she woke up to a new reality, and that she was not human anymore, but the endgame of a sick and twisted mind. Her reminiscings were interrupted by a red phone on her desk buzzing, it was the emergency access phone, only to be used if Illior was attacked, or if an attack was launched on a close ally.

She turned quickly, pulled the receiver off of its hook, and spoke quickly, "Yes?"

"Ms. Kars, this is General Kunyetz, we have a confrimed detonation of a thermonuclear warhead over a Cravanian city. At this time, there is no threat to Illior, but they took a bad hit." He said into his end, waiting for the reaction and inevetable retribution to come.

"What the fuck happened and who did it?" She asked, the tension in her voice rising with every pronounced syllable.

"From what we saw, the Nation of Nova Brittanica Launched roughly sixteen thousand nuclear tipped Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles at the Coalition of nations that were invading British Londinium, and Londinium itself also. I know that you'll want to respond," He never got to finish.

"RESPOND? WHO THE FUCK THINKS THAT THEY CAN ATTACK AN ALLY OF ILLIOR, ESPECAILLY WITH THE AUDACITY OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND NOT THINK THAT WE WON'T GLASS THEIR FUCKING ASSES BACK TO THE STONE AGE?"

"Well Ma'am, looks like the Nova Brittanica Nation did, but you may have to find another scapegoat, as Brittanica no longer exists. It was hit with high energy lasers, Nucleics, and probably more." The General said.

Erika Sighed audibly into the phone. "Get the NERF on alert, and get them over to Cravan as soon as possible. I want their whole division there in under a day. I know it won't be easy, but get it done, they're gonna need it." She said, hanging up the phone.

She sat, leaning back in her chair, thinking. A few minutes later, she picked up the white phone, spoke into it briefly, and hung back up. She quickly turned on the T.V, which was just airing a special on the British Londinium invasion, when it was interrupted for an emergency broadcast, which stated that a Cravanian city had been leveled, with casualties unknown, but with experts thinking probably 10 million deaths, close to instantly, and likely many, many more.

She turned on her computer, and immediately pulled up her email, and Pulled up the emergency contact for the Cravanian government.

I saw what happened, I've already got a Nuclear Emergency Response Force Suiting up and getting ready to haul ass over to the nearest safe area. I've also got another two Nuclear Emergency Response Forces on a 48 hour alert. There's probably a million relief agencies lining up to get into Cravan, but I'm keeping the Illiorian government in the lead on this one. I'll have an airlift train to get clean bottled water and other supplies as soon as possible, but those men are going to need staging areas. Send them back ASAP.

"And did you say back to 'im?" queried another drunken patron, Vladimir.

A man burst through the doors.

Response to the Illiorian Government:

We thank our allies profusely in this time of crisis, and accept all assistance you may offer with open arms. Staging points where you may set up have been marked on an attached map with coordinates included.

Just know that we are grateful, and once this is over, we're in your debt. May whatever God(s) you worship, if any, bless you for your actions.

Thanks and gratitude can be saved for later, however. At the moment, there's people to be saved.

From: Karl von Treuenfeld

We understand your frustration at this moment, we wish to apologize for these actions. Truly, we should not have to. The use of nuclear force was not sanctioned by the alliance. Your anger against the alliance is unreasonable. Who else in our alliance has launched a nuclear weapon at your nation? None of us I say! We have raised arms of no kind! We cannot control the nations that make up the alliance, but not even we E.V.I.L would sanction the use of nuclear weapons as a first strike option. If you wish to war against us so be it! I have no quarrel with you.

May wisdom be with you.

The general turns to face the T.V. He sees a news report coming in from Somethingey's number one hit news station.

"We don't know much yet, but it seems that Nova Britannica and the Coalition has already gone though Nuclear warfare and...."

"Oh my god! Do we have anything in either side?!" Yelled the general.

"We don't know muck yet sir, but..." Said the soilder.

"But what?" Asked the general.

"Well we do have an embassy in Nova Britanncia." Replyed the soilder.

"Tell the emperor and get ready 10th Airborne." Said the general.

Transmission to Whyatican Grand Admiral Belushi

I Request a Meeting to discuss recent events.

This Simple Message was transmitted without much preamble, and a large amount of cryptic Novan Caligraphs, which seemed to shimmer in out of existence, a Novan Logo finished the Message.

A Novan Fleet set Sail From Zukhaval Xrinitak, at it's heart was a trio of Kaivzan Class Aircraft Carriers, and a Vrikalas Class Super Dreadnought, A swarm of Tokons hung over the fleet like a flock of vultures, circling slowly overhead, cackling madly and crying out into the bright day, soaring through on their wings of malice high above the tiered towers of the ships of the Novan Flotilla, At the height of the forward Communications Tower of the NMS Kaivazan, the first ship of the line arms crossed across his chest, facing down the waves like a great old statue, standing emotionlessly on one of the first voyages of his new ship, his fair locks hung to his shoulders, his cap , it's peak shading his eyes gently, his long tunic uniform of rank clung to his slender yet well built form, concealing many instruments of rank, he appeared a simple individual, with a powerful presence, there was an almost eerie lack of air to the top of the tower, and he appeared to be alone, yet he knew differently, "I know your here, I've heard tales of the Zimtaren, all of them I assume are true," muttered the Srihacul as he pin wheeled slowly around on the heel of his left foot to apparently face nothing, except the antennae jutting out of the peak of the tower, "Reveal yourself" A tall black figure, clad in stocky black amour, with large pauldrons and a high board upon his helm, not a single ounce of flesh was shown, the only ounce of color was the muted coloration of his orders fabled emblem, after what seemed an age, the air, tense, the Tokons cawing in the distance the crash of the waves, the fresh tang of the salt air, the figure at last spoke.

"Srihacul Kenzal, you are as astute as the reports say," came the voice, it seemed to echo out of the amour, a subtle voice, yet one almost not entirely human anymore, it seemed to ruminate with old memories, an ancient past, and something else, it's arms folded across it's broad chest, as it's glowing eyes stared directly into Kenzal's own Viridian eyes.

"A Hunch, Given the situation, I need not ask why your here, and I need not try to stop you, you'll be accompanying me to see the Whyaticans," he returned, his voice calm, he knew that the Zimtaren before him had only revealed itself because it, itself had willed it, the Zimtaren were a legend, surmised to be an off-shoot Founding of the Black Skull Enforcers, using their psychic powers for investigation and concealment on an impressive order, not one had ever died, nor even been wounded, which suggested to Reece that perhaps the legends were more myth than fact.

The Voice appeared to breath out it's words, yet it's figure was motionless, as if a statue, "You have accepted this, it is Good, You serve the people well, your Record is Impressive, You will serve with Distinction," it echoed, as if leaving no room for discussion, these were statements regardless, not for open discussions.

"I could do no less," he returned simply as he moved towards the staircase down into the tower proper, the thought bubbling at the top of his mind was a message to the Zimtaren, I ready my guard, and we will be at British Londinium soon, as he vanished from sight.

The Zimtaren stood there a moment longer impassive, before slowly vanishing from sight.

The Flotilla Continued to Power on, cutting through the waves with ruthless ease, none could deny that the Novans were the masters of the Atlantic, as they neared British Londinium, slowing as they approached the territorial waters, a transport ready aboard the Deck of the Kaivazan, having rose out of the hangar decks below, onto the VTOL Pads, a Quarter of Voloko's as well as 8 Tokons had swept low and hovered above, as the Novan Srihacul alighted, unafraid of things to come.

"Kroando never has, never will and at the present moment does not support either the former Londinian Regime, nor the insurgent forces at work in Eurasia. Furthermore we deny any affiliation to Nova Brittanica, and certainly have never been involved in any alliance with them at any point in the past. To state otherwise is simply blasphemy. To drag the Coalition into this conflict is not only foolish, it is needless, as it will merely cause death, on all sides, and the loss of international power and economic stability."

46th-48th Security Divisions, We Buy It Inc.; Uxbridge, Ganapati, Eurasia

Most of the city had been secured, helicopters and UAVs patrolled the city from above while convoys of LV-08 'Raptor' Armored Patrol Trucks, equipped with Area Denial Systems and coaxial 15.5mm Heavy Machine Guns raced up and down the streets.

IFVs equipped with speakers broadcasted a message saying that all police and Eurasian military forces are to stand down and hand over their weapons, and all civilians were to hand over any and all weapons they possesed, they would receive $250 USD for each weapon and clip of ammo they handed over.

The area where the hand overs would occur was a mere 2km outside of the main city, also announced was thay any person who threatened coalition soldiers need to turn themselves in to be added to a database of people.

The Security Forces quickly went about fixing power and water stations, even supplying fuel for emergency generators and business places and building public bathrooms for citizens to use until their water was back on.

Loudspeakers broadcasted details to the citizens, such as what places they were allowed to go, and where they weren't. Generally commercial districts and utilities were off limits, as well as government buildings.

In order to enforce these zones M160A2 'Phoenix' MBTs stood watch with M260A1 'Valkyrie' IFVs. With troops conducting patrols of buildings, alleys and side streets, overwatched by more UAVs. Roadblocks were placed on the major streets, usually consisting of hedgehogs, concrete barricades, and sandbags, with LV-08s and M260A2s providing any needed firepower.

Logistical troops were being brought in by air to airbases by C-115 'Fastrider' Supersonic Transports, more generators and defensive structures were brought in and the base was quickly becoming much larger, being used as a base for patrols into the suburbs of Uxbridge and the surrounding countryside.

The situation was similar in Fulham and Leeds, a total of 3 divisions in each city, making nine occupying divisions, or about three fifths of the total force, the other 6 divisions were moving towards the towns of Hammersmith and Winchester.

The Skyian Military doctrine for occupation was much similar to that used by We Buy It Inc., it was actually an adapted version, back from the days when We Buy It Inc. was the biggest defence force in The Silver Sky and The Silver Sky was a mere 400 million people.

Each city was occupied by four divisions worth of Skyian Troops, with five other divisions holding several former Eurasian airbases, again roadblocks, loudspeakers and heavy patrols were the name of the game, little resistance was encountered and when it was most of the time it was stopped with non-lethal force, but on the occasion where Eurasian ex-military personal were encountered and they were armed with heavy weapons, well, let's just say that there was usually no way of identifying the body.

2nd Marine Field Army, Skyian Military; Southwark, Ganapati, Eurasia

Once again more troops were unloaded onto the beach, they quickly moved into the cities, squashing any remaining resistance, while setting up public baths and generators and moving to restore water and power. They moved inland and occupied Southwark, Hillingdon, Kingston, and Axminster and Chichester.

A total of three divisions per city, with 5 divisions staying at air bases on the island, this was supposed to be the Clandonian Occupation Zone, but they haven't arrived yet, and besides occupying someone is fun!

Response to the nuclear attacks

Nothing could be ever simpler.

From the Allanean battleships, a salvo of thermonuclear interceptor missiles – the ancient Nike Zeus and Sprint designs - launched, carrying five-megaton warheads. They did not target Nova Brittanica – Allaneans were not that cruel, nor indeed did they want to avenge themselves. There was nothing to avenge Allanea for, really.

A five-megaton explosion in low orbit is capable of affecting sattelites and missile warheads for out to 1,500 kilometers radius – it kills commercial sattelites, destroys nuclear triggering mechanisms, eliminates radio receivers on the ground. A few dozen of these explosions – and you will realize why only a handful of the devices launched by Nova Brittania remained – only to be further hit by short-range interceptor missiles, carrying only a five-kiloton warhead each.

Finally, what remained of MIRV's was impaled upon the jagged teeth of the MIRACL and Nautilus laser systems – and the last two or three rockets were cut apart by CIWS.

Kazansky Island, the Presidential villa

“So you've failed.”

“But, Mr. President, we've taken over the entire country without firing a shot...”

“Funny, still looks like failure to me. What the hell is this, the Rejistanian Army?”

The small penguin on Kazansky's knees squeaked in disapproval.

“Yes, SuSE, I know. I don't think even the Aseni Divensi Rejistaniha would be capable of this amount of fail and lose.”

The Division Commander gulped.

“Look here.” - Kazansky smiled. “Let me show you why we can't win through ground deployment alone. Come to my workshop.”

They passed through Kazansky's immense 'gun safe' – an immense collection of small arms of all sorts, everything from a Necron gauss flayer, to a bunch of Kriegzimmer Corporation rifles and shotguns, to a venerable Fourth Edolian War-era AKM that used to be standard Allanean issue at the time. And, standing out among the pistols, shotguns, swords, rifles, and knives, alone stood a huge Nakil 1A2 tank – the one millionth Nakil.

He took the General to a room adjacent to that one – a workshop, full of everything from metalworking tools to jeweller's equipment – and pointed him to a simple vise. Clamped in that was a nondescript bit of sheet metal. “Do you know what I'm making, General?”

“No, Mr. President.”

“What I'm making here is a magazine well for an assault rifle. Now, you may tell me this is too complex for these people. Let me show you something else. SuSE, will you please fetch me the previous one?”

The penguin darts under some furniture, and comes back out, clutching a slide-action shotgun with it.

“Observe that this gun is incredibly crude – I made all of it, sights included, from stuff you can find in any junk yard. I actually took most of the metal from old car parts.”

“But why, Sir? Can't you just buy a gun?”

“You're an idiot, General. Of course I can – I just did because it's fun.But think of it this way - if I did it, so can the retards in Eurasia. And unlike me, they have really good motive to engage in this kind of amateur crafstmanship. And this, good General, is why we can't occupy the place effectively with infantry. This is why I want you to scale down our deployment in our Area of Responsibility.”

“You mean we're leaving?”

“Good Gods, no. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to make sure that our deployment there henceforth bases its operation mostly on air-to-ground and naval-to-ground operations. Begin sattelite observations of the territory. If insurgent activity is detected, smack it with a long-range rocket from a submarine. If an insurgent headquarters is detected, carpet-bomb the location from a heavy bomber. Use nonlethals and ADS to protect our military bases and whatever or whoever sides with us. Is that understood?”

“Yes, Sir.”

“I want you to reduce the deployment to two infantry divisions. Keep a few dozen naval ships in patrol, but nothing more.”

“Sir, how do we intercept smuggler boats?”

“Smack them with a long-range missile. A single ship, equipped with regular anti-ship missiles, can cover a circle of four hundred and fifty klicks in radius – doesn't even really have to move or anything, just get location data from a sattelite and smack everything that's not a Sovereign League ship with missiles. Aircraft patrols extend this range to about one thousand klicks every which way.”

The General laughed beside himself.

“Also, I need to write a message to the other Sovereign League leaders.”

Top Secret, Eyes Only

It is my suggestion that we do not require a ground deployment at all. Let us withdraw – but not from the region entirely. They do not, as far as I know, posess an air force or any anti-air complement. Let us just withdraw our forces from the continent and bomb them into submission. At the present, Allanea is unable to begin using this strategy until it has the consent of other Sovereign League members. However, I would like to remind you that an Ouroboros-B bomber, alone, can depose upwards of 25,000 tons of bombs upon a given target city, and we are quite willing to engage, together with the other Sovereign League members, in a concerted bombing campaign against British Londinum. Remember what Maxim Gorky said:

If the enemy does not surrender, he is destroyed.

In the meanwhile, the Allaneans expanded their previous strategies – it would become harder and harder for a guerilla to actually meet an Allanean face to face to hurt one – rather, they confronted the Allaneans' remote-controlled ADS emplacements and machinegun nests, their long-range rockets and aircraft munitions.

More and more with every day, the real Allaneans remained behind fortified camp walls and minefields, frustratingly beyond reach – even as more and more airborne weapons, bombs, and rockets launched from ships landed in the cities, killing more and more guerillas.

Guerilla warfare only works if the invader insists on ruling your county. Then, he has to move in troops and police to ensure law and order.

The Allaneans cared little for ruling Eurasia as they liked– as long as their long-range munitions prevented the Eurasians of establishing a government that they wanted.

If this meant the Eurasians would have no government at all, then so be it.

Hell, quite a few Allaneans would agree to it.

When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Hurrah, Hurrah

The fleet of giant intercontinental nuclear bombers soared slowly over Nova Britannica, taking photograph imagery and recording back what they saw. All life, gone. All remains of cities, gone. Long mushroom clouds extended their pointy fingers into the sky and blossomed out like cherry trees in the spring and down below the land shimmered and smoked in all its nuclear glory.

"Do we have to do this?"

"I suppose." The Air General shrugged. "Seems a waste of money to me."

"Good weapons testing, though."

Solemnly, the bombs away signal was given, and the fleet leader dropped his main weapon. The 75 megaton, parachute retarded freefall thermonuclear weapon, a beast of a bomb. Nine other bombers did the same before immediately pulling out; the rest of the squadron dropped their 4-6 megaton bombs and followed the fleet leader out. They just escaped out of range when the weapon detonated.

At first, there was the white flash, whgich of course the crew did not observe, but from a hundred miles away anyone caught in it would have their eyes seared. Ten seconds later came the thunder blast, and anyone to hear it would be defeaned by the rumbling and the winds that would send trees, had there been any left, flying. Then the explosion. It roared into the sky and within a minute had reached the clouds and was spreading out, sending enormous atomic shockwaves up and down its length and width, and within a day would spread out before beginning to shrink. Hours after the firestorm frmo such a weapon would clear the whole distance around the drop zone for thirty miles.

It was a clear show of force: mess with the west, die like the rest.

Former Nova Britannica

The small landing boats ran aground on the lifeless coast. Marines and other personnel, in their dark green or black ARNCS (Anti-Radiation Nuclear Combat Suits), disembarked from the craft of simmilar colors. The soldiers walked slowly over the glass, some shouldering their assault rifles, nothing would be alive, but some of these guys had seen too many post-apolyctic mutant movies. Amphibious Support Craft came ashore from the uneasy sea. The land was bare and unforgiving, a land of desolation and death, nothing had survived.

"This is Collector One, begin operation Pack Rat", the clear words followed a crackling over the radio.

"Yes Sir, all units commence!"

The Marines covered other men, in white ARNCSs, who deployed small drills, and jackhammers. Each chose a small patch of land, and got to work in a hurry. They would remove slabs of former Nova-Brittanican land, and put them in the Amphibious Support Craft. It was slow, boring, uneventful work, and it dragged on for hours. As the sun started to set, it was determined that a big enough haul had been harvested, and, with a colelctive sigh of relief, the men were ordered back into their boats.

Secure Communication to Sovereign League Allies:

The occupation becomes more brutal and bloody every day, the former nation of British Londinium is in a defacto state of civil war and resistance against the coalition. Clandonian plans are to remove at least four divisions that are presently there as there are other priorites around the world such as dealing with EVIL.

I like my Allanean counterpart agree that we need to withdraw ground troops and deploy either air power or unmanned vehicles.

Imperial Whyatican Banking Conglomerate Announces Investment in Eurasia
Five major Whyatican banks announced on 4 January 2007 that they would begin investments in Eurasian banks that were devastated during the invasion and occupation. Whyatican credits will be invested into Eurasian banks, which will allow the banks to begin regular operations again. Many banks, savings and loans, and other such places were sacked during the insurgency had all of the money withdrawn from their accounts, forcing the banks to shut down operations as they could no longer afford to loan out money and collect on it. Using Whyatican Credits to support the banks will allow the Eurasian civilians to deposit their own currency back into their economy, boosting confidence in their currency, the Cicero.

The Imperial government is hoping to begin stock market operation within the coming months, as small business owners in Eurasia are being encouraged to open up shop again and resume normal business. The Eurasian Cicero - Whyatican Credit conversion has been fixed at 3.5 Cicero to the Credit, until the economy of Eurasia has hit it's prewar level. This method will ease the reconstruction of Eurasia, boost confidence in their economy, and begin the process of going from a war-oriented economy to a consumer-oriented economy.

Military trucks began picking up the dead wherever found, and search-and-rescue teams searched through the wreckages of destroyed buildings for survivors - or their corpses. Bulldozers began pushing wreckage out of the way, as new foundations for new buildings were being laid - all courtesy of the Whyatican military government, as they were paying the contractors to come down and build in potentially hostile territory. Every last building that was destroyed during the insurrection would be rebuilt, and this along with the other measures should improve the Eurasian opinion of the Whyatican Empire.

The Eurasian Central Bank, operating under the authority of the Eurasian government, is pleased to announce that we are now resuming business due to a mass revitalization of the economy. Skyian/Whyatican/Clandonian/Izistani Sectors, Eurasia

Nothing like this could have happened overnight, not even such events as shocking as the Great Depression could have happened were it not fueled by human interaction.

This was the same for the seeming 'economic miracle' that some called the return of the Eurasian Economy. The main driving force was behind this rapid economic growth seemed like it was the Whyaticans and their generous investments in Eurasian Banks, it was rather, the Whyatican's employed by the Skyian based We Buy It Incorporated.

Agents planted on the ground all over the country where order was restored, they entered city halls and capitols looking for information on companies. Other agents worked on the ground, watching some business die while others grew.

One of the ones that died noticably, was Spectre Unltd. after loosing their infastructure in Nova Brittanica and the Coaliton's blockade not even commercial traffic could do business, shipping docks died within weeks, even days, being forclosed on by banks, Spectre, Unltd. had no way of shipping their cargo. It was effectively bankrupt and was undergoing investigation by both Eurasian and Skyian attorneys for evasion of the law, unfair employment practices, and other things.

We Buy It Inc. took advantage of this, any dock that was being foreclosed on, and looked/had been profitable were being bought up, private airfields that tanked were bought for large sums, and turned into private airbases for WBI, while the docks were used to ship goods made in WBI factories that had also been bought from Eurasian Corporations that had gone under. Mines also proved to be a profitable venture, seeing as alot of banks had gone under and were willing to sell mines, and new land for low low prices.

Meanwhile, Eurasian citizens went on as normal, they only difference they noticed, was that their were alot of new, high paying jobs, because not only were their openings in mines and factories, but in research departments, medical facilities on campus, managers, and even the company, Hostile Takeover Inc. was looking to raise a few brigades of Eurasians to protect their own homeland. These jobs paid large sums, and educated people, and even retired/laid off soldiers loved them.

And the best part about all this was that it's legal under coalition control! And their were probably Praetonian, and Velkya companies doing the same. The Whyaticans had promised WBI mining and corporate rights in their sector because they sent mercenary forces.

We Buy It Inc. was eager to collect on it's deal, and much much more. Such as, oh, the total corporate domination of SPECTRE Unltd.

http://gradygorman.townhall.com/g/21a4eba1-d7a2-4c15-a527-25df568fc7fe

and there are earthquakes of less than that. The North Korean test was, based on this supposed to be about 2–12 kThttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_North_Korean_nuclear_test, and there are definitely nuclear bombs, especially in nationstates, of more than that.

I don't know about destroying islands, but saying that the strongest nuke was weaker than the weakest earthquake is false.

Imperial Whyatica Announces General Coalition Withdrawl from Eurasia
On 7 January 2007, the Coalition began a general withdrawl of troops from Eurasia, withdrawing some of their forces to large military bases constructed on coasts near large cities. The remainder of the Coalition troops have been withdrawn to their various homelands.

Sovereignty over Eurasia has been transferred to the elected government, and they will be held to the terms of the peace treaty indefinetly. Any breach of any clause of the Instrument of Peace will result in complete annexation of Eurasia by Coalition forces.

To follow the lines of the Whyatican government Clandonian forces will withdraw from the area leaving a force of 20,000 of the 12th Armoured Division to remain at their camp at Kensington Airport to protect Clandonian assets and to ensure that the new government of Eurasia does not break the peace treaty or resort back its old ways.

We now transfer the Clandonian administration zone to the Eurasian government and people. The withdrawal of Commander Lazarus's fleet and the 3rd Marine Army Group. I wish the people of Eurasia the best of luck managing their new country and for them to remain democratic and not rever back to the old murderous, tyranical ways.

The Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia is pleased that the Coalition is withdrawing at this point in time. His Majesty's Government is pleased to see that home rule has been restored to British Londinium. To ensure that the terms of the peace treaty are adhered to, the Praetonian deployment to British Londinium will be increased to 1 Corps of troops, including tanks, artillery and infantry, amounting to some tens of thousands of men. Praetonian troops will remain at all water and electrical distribution and generation sites throughout the capital, and in all communications centres such as telephone exchanges and post offices. Kensington International Airport will be half returned to civilian traffic, with the other half remaining a Praetonian military base. Kensington Palace will become the new Praetonian Embassy to British Londinium. A permament base shall be constructed some 5 miles from the outskirts of British Londinium with runway and defensible perimeter, after the construction of which Kensington International Airport will be returned to full civilian use.

His Majesty's Government stands in solidarity with the people of British Londinium, and hopes that these measures will ensure the Government adheres to its treaty commitments and treats them in a manner in accordance with their natural rights and liberties. His Majesty's Government is, however, forced to refuse British Londinium's request for Praetonian troops to leave within 3 years. Instead, Praetonian troops will leave on the command of His Majesty's Government.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth

I urge that Prætonia scale down the troop numbers in Eurasia. Furthermore, I urge that the nation of Eurasia is allowed to go about its' business as it normally would: i.e., opening airports fully to civilian traffic, allowing government buildings to be used for their proper purposes, etc.

The reason for this is not so that Eurasia has greater ability to violate the treaty, but to placate Eurasian citizens, as to avoid another insurgent uprising.

If Sir Philip's Government was not interested in breaching the treaty and violating human rights (for instance, by carrying out his threats to execute anyone working for a foreign healthfood bar for "treason") then he would see no problem with coalition forces remaining in British Londinium.

His Majesty's Government will, however, compensate British Londinium for the loss of use of half of the single airport affected by the coalition until military basings outside of the city are complete and Praetonian forces can be withdrawn from the airport. In addition, the Praetonian military in British Londinium shall expand the airport, free of charge, upon request.

As Praetonian troops will not take any active role in anything but reconstruction and ensuring the peace treaty is adhered to, any "uprisings" would be the sole responsibility of President Sinclair.

Following suit with our allies in arms in the Coalition, Cravanian forces will begin a gradual withdrawl. The 17th Marine Division will remain in British Londinium, however, based out of bases around the northern island jointly managed by Cravanian and Eurasian forces. They will cooperate with the new local government, and have orders to assist in any way possible pending approval from Cravna.

We hope that these dark times may be put behind our peoples, and that we may move further into the future together. The Libertarian Empire will forever stand by the Eurasian people, however we will also take note of the new government's behavior. If a withdrawl to old ways occurs, we will intervene with our allies at once. We do hope, however, that it will never come to this, and we can finally live in peace.

I dont remember saying the war could end. It did not end. The Coalition must be delayed here. Delay them. Vilnokov growled, scratching his beard as he tossed the small note card into the furnace. The war had ended... he had several hundred thousand dollars, and a 'steady job'. He was more than content to end the fight, and to simply, dissapear, to defect. Unfortunately he knew that the moment his task was left unfufilled, the government would notify Coalition troops of his existance, and they would them execute him. He had only one choice... do what was ordered of him. It was easier now, less people with guns. The chaos had died down, the chances of getting nicked with a random shot had decreased substantially. Sure there were fewer targets now, but that meant nothing, Coalition Soldiers still existed, the only problem was how to kill them without getting caught.

The issue of covering it up was not much of a problem. Ever since the insurgency had 'ended' the revolutionaries had went underground, had become quiet. But any attack which wreaked of terrorism would immidiately be blamed upon them, regardless of the actual perpetrator. So he started. A bomb. That was his specialty, thats what he would use. A bomb in a car. Genious! How did he think of this shit. C4... he still had some, enough to make a nice bang. In a cab. Perfect, add to the bang with the gas tank. He began working, four kilos of C4 in a suitecase with a basic remote detonator.

The target? Kensington Night Club. A popular hang out for soldiers with PR time. On saturday night the place was literally swarming with soldiers waving pay checks. A very believable target for a Eurasian Revolutionary force. Calling a cab the Saturday night began as any other, "Kensington Night please.", spoke the now heavily red bearded Russian, slipping a twenty to the driver of the cab. "Ive got a hot date... so if you dont mind.", he smiled, leaning back, setting his brief case down along the floor out of site. As they drove through the city none would suspect what was about happen, peace had seemed to overcome. It was not to last.

"Ah, here we are.", Vilnikov smiled, nearing the exit of the car. "Pal, tell ya what. Im only gonna be a few minutes, whaddaya say ya take a trip around the block and pick me up in five. Theres another one of these if ya help me out.", Vilnikov handed a pair of twenties up front. When the driver nodded, he got out of the cab, stood for a second waiting for the cab to get out of site, and walked across the steet into a rather dark alley. Lighting a ciggerette, all he needed do was wait. "Im getting to damn old for this.", grumbled the Russian as he peered across the street at the roaring night club, looking in through the glass windows at the Cravanian soldiers recieving lap dances. "Lucky bastards.", he grumbled, taking a rather long drag of the tobacco stick. "Why the hell did they join that damn alliance. I could be sipping martini's on a white beach... fuck...", a few minutes later, the cab pulled up, right alongside the curb. Giving himself a slight chuckle he watched as the cab driver checked his watch, then looking over at a pair of men walk into the club. Looking to his watch he pressed a button renamed, 'Send'. Pressing it, he waited no more than three seconds before the cab turned into a ball of flaming metal. The force alone shattered the glass, spewing it into the club, followed by shards of metal and chucks of brick flying into all directions. The fire consumed everything within thirty feet, debris and shrapenal many more. "Poor chaps."

However the work was not done. He began strolling down the street, minding his own business, enjoying the cool air as the fire trucks and police vehilces sped down the street. Cigerette done he stomped it out infront of an empty telephone booth. This wouldn't take long he picked up the phone and laid it down on the metal desk. Punching in 9-9-9 he withdrew a small casette player, punched in 'play', and walked out, applying an 'Out of order' sign to the front so as not to disturb the message. On the tape was a doctored voice claiming responsibility for the attack in the name of the 'Eurasian Liberation Front'. It may very well have been a fictional organization, but the tape certainly claimed otherwise. When made it back to his apartment, he took off the fake beard, the wig, the fake side burns, the cheezy mustache and his large black glasses, tossing them all into the furnace of the building. Hopefully he had done enough to earn his pay check for the next week.

Message Relayed to Police on Tape
A distorted, overly low voice began speaking, obviously filtered through some sort of device.

"The People of British Londinium are outraged by this blatant act of Imperial Aggression by the foriegn pigs. We shall not sit idle while foriegn troops rape our women, steal our land and spit on our culture as a whole. We do not seek to harm our brothers in what is now called, 'Eurasia', but if they side with these Imperialist Dogs, we will strike them down like the traitors they are. Our numbers grow by the day, as our ideology is undeniable... the expulsion of foriegn troops from our land will be fulfilled, if it takes every last one of us to do. You shall not defeat us. You shall not oppress us with your puppet regime. We will tear down the government and establish one freely elected by the people of the land, not set up by a board of Corporate Executives and Foriegn Politicians. Our government must fight for our intrests, and it is definitely not in our intrests to have foriegn savages in our streets. Murderering our sons. Raping our daughters. We are a proud people, and shall not stop until every last soldier is dead."

"We, the Eurasian Liberation Front shall fight, by god shall we fight. Do not think we will stop here. Your homes shall soon live in the fear that ours are emersed in. Prepare, for the reaper nears. Good night."

The same message was relayed to the major Coalition bases in the city, be it by phone, fax, email... whatever. The important thing was that it was next to untraceable.

He stood in front of the podium, and the cameras started to roll. His broadcast would interrupt every radio and television broadcast in the nation.

"People of Eurasia. Today, terrorists attacked our nation's capital, killing scores of Eurasian citizens and an indeterminate amount of Coalition troops. This is intolerable!" Sinclair said before the country. "Our country that which we stand for and all that we hold dear faces a grave and terrible threat. This violent and unparalleled assult to our security will not go undefended or unpunished. Our enemy is an insidious one, seeking to divide us and destroy the very foundation of our great nation. With the reports of the attacks against Cravanian forces under the order of Lieutenant-General Stuart Stevenson that all Clandonian military and civillian personal to return to the base. Orders were given for defence forces to increase patrols around the perimeter. The base carried a great deal of military hardware with over 400 M-20 Mackall MBT's, 1200 Stryker and 800 Warrior IFV's plus many helicopter and aircraft assets from the Clandonian Air Force it was an expensive deployment.

Lt Gen Stevenson returned to his family, forces housing for married service men was under construction as the base commander he had one of the finer houses. Now a guard was in place by his house, fearing further terrorist attacks on possibly the Clandonian. LPWS, land based CIWS systems had been put in positions to try and shoot down possibly mortars and missiles. As the troubled failured state of Eurasia possibly transfered to a new era of violence many in the Clandonian side wondered how long they could put up with just having 20,000 men, but with larger requirements in the war against EVIL such as the ongoing war with Kroando in the North of Nova Europa and the invasion of Emperor Nero it was unlikely the Clandonian military would be able to support such large deployments.

Southern Ganapati, Eurasia

The Skyian Military quietly, and without fuss moved out of the cities, to military bases that had already been under construction since the first few days of occupation. These included port facilities built away from cities, with ports deep and large enough to house even superdreadnoughts, and air fields large enough to accept the largest Skyian Bombers and Transport craft.

In total there were five army and air force bases housing five divisions each, and two naval bases housing five divisons, the bases were large and expansive enough to provide housing, and anemities (grocery stores, independent water and power, theatres, schools, etc.) for troops, and as such no troops were allowed outside specific zones of engagement, even when on leave.

All these bases were equipped with runways, motor pools, barracks, SAM sites, artillery sites, bunkers, command buildings/bunkers, barbed and electrified wired fences, and a easily defensiable perimeter.

Also, the bases got supplies from the We Buy It Inc, which was under contract from the government, and the We Buy It Inc. forces that were in the country, 15 total, went about protecting WBI installations and escorting vital convoys. And the 4th Battle Fleet went about escorting supply ships.

All this went on specifically constructed roads, bridges, and tunnels, away or under/over Eurasia civilian roads.

Eostre, Eurasia

Most of the same went down in Eostre, although 10 divisions had been transfered to the main land, so a total of two army bases and one military port had been constructed.

This was in keeping with the Eurasian's demands for allowing civilians to go about their daily lives unobstructed. Any complaints would probably be ignored, seeing how the Skyians had learned a lesson about letting countries be free, the last country that was allowed to be free ended up reverting to their old ways with the Skyians being in no position to send forces because of a war and a lack of military basing.

The same mistake would not be repeated twice.

Questions to the President of Eurasia

The President stood before the entirety of the Parliament this Friday afternoon.

"Mr. President, how do you intend to combat these terrorists responsible for the attacks in downtown Kensington?" asked a member of Parliament.

"Retribution will be swift," replied Sir Phillip. "The Metropolitan Police divisions in all cities have been placed on full alert, and in Kensington, Ministry of Defence Police have been stationed around all government buildings."

"Sir President Sinclair, what steps will be taken to ensure that the Coalition leaves our nation quickly?"

"At this time, there is very little than I can do, unfortunately enough. The first and foremost action will be to give them no reason to stay. Stability, if maintained, would only encourage them to leave. Secondly, the people must show peaceful resistance if they will be resisting at all. I think we all can agree that taking direct action would be preferable, but there is nothing that we can do without risking the livelihoods of our citizens."

'Victoria is no longer a Home Nation with individual cities. The cities have expanded into each other. One can take an Underground train from Picadilly Station in the heart of Kensington to Emperor's Cross in downtown Winchester, and not even have to switch monorail lines. Therefore, the Parliament has passed legislation grouping all cities in Victoria into one megatropolis, Greater Victoria, based off the London boroughs of old. BBBBBBZZZZZZZ... pause... BBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZ. "God damnit im coming already!", shouted Vilkinov, jumping out of bed, pulling a 9mm glock from under his pillow. BBBBBBBBBZZZZZZZZ, the buzzer sounded off yet again, piercing the Russians ears. "I said im coming god damnit! Hold on!", he shouted again, slowly creeping up to the door, peering through the peep hole. Nothing. No one. Not a soul. Swinging open the door he looked down both sides of the long dark hallway, barely illuminated by a flickering set of light bulbs down the center. Half naked he looked down, only to find a small shoe box, on top, a note card.

Good work on the night club, truly, I found it to be a well thought out operation. As you have doubtlessly heard the war at home is intensifying, Clandonia is sending more men. Which means we are not making the Coalition's job difficult enough. Thankfully the majority of the Coalition has been withdrawing to isolated bases, limiting their control on the nation, but there is more to be done. Kill.

Walking back inside he slammed the door, shaking his head. "Sunofabitch.", grumbled the Russian as he set the box down on his kitchen counter. Inside was a stack of tightly bound Eurasian Cicero, a good amount of cash... underneath, several packages of explosive variously labeled, and a list of potential targets. Sitting down on his hole filled couch he could only help but wonder if he would ever be finished, reading the list. Bank, no... too much security. Presidential Palace... you had to be joking. Post Office. Hmmm. Not a difficult target. Apperantly Praetonia was now stationing soldiers at the Eurasian Post offices. Well, they were not technically participating in the war against EVIL, but seeing as they would have no reason to suspect EVIL of the attack, this certainly shouldn't have been raising any tensions.

A nicely bound package, post marked to some city in Eurasia was tied up, pretty little bow and all. Inside of course, a kilo of C4 and a remote detonation device. On a rather warm, sunny day in Kensington Vilkinov went to work, putting in his seven hours as a bank teller, a true waste of his actual talent. However it was after 'work' that his true work began. Taking a bit of a walk, he stopped some two blocks from the post office, walking with a fake cane the entire way. Stopping next to a group of kids, no more than nine or ten years old he called to one of them, offering twenty Cicero for one of them to take to package to the post office... after all, with his bad leg, he needed to get home quickly. It wasn't hard to convince the child to take up the task, and soon after, he was limping away, watching the child stroll towards the post office.

"God damn me... I cant do this... fuck no... hell no.", Vilnikov whispered to himself as he watched the child near a pair of Praetonian soldiers out front of the building. "No.", the Russian turned to just walk away, but just then was grabbed by two large, powerful hands, locking his arms in place. Terrified he could not move, just stare into the large black eyes before him. The man grasped his wrist, lifting his hand to his face... and pressed the button 'Send' on the watch. A second later, just as the child neared the two soldiers to walk inside, the bomb blew...

The man smiled and walked away, without ever saying a word. Vilnikov could only do the same.

Official Communiqué to the Coalition Nations

Let me start off my assuring you that all efforts are being taken to combat these insurgents and terrorists, especially after their brutal murder of a small child, Sarah Peterson, in Kensington. However, the Eurasian Liberation Front has proved to be an equal match to the Metropolitan Police forces throughout Eurasia.

I implore that the Coalition take the demands of the Eurasian Liberation Front seriously. From current intelligence on the group, our analysts believe that the group is highly militarised and highly trained, consisting of individuals who are both committed and deadly.

In my humble opinion, the best option to help placate the violence, as their actions are a direct result of yours, would be to scale down troop levels in Eurasia.

Futhermore, I feel obligated to inform you that the mother of the child intends to sue the Coalition governments.

The Clandonian government would like to tell the Eurasian government that we will not negotiate with terrorist forces of the Eurasian Liberation Front. Similarly, if attacks are conducted against Clandonian forces based in Eurasia than we will defend ourselves and avenge all deaths.

Furthermore, we do not accept that your government labels the 'coalition as the cause of this violence' which is not due to the coalition troop levels. Clandonia troop levels will be decided much later on in time once Eurasia has returned to some degree of normality. Even with the ongoing fight against EVIL our planners and strategists have decided to abandon the failed state of Eurasia would be foolish and elements from the EVIL organisation would move in seizing on the chaos and anarchy. Clandonia views the nation of Eurasia as the first battle ground for the war on EVIL so there will be perhaps a Clandonian military presence for indefinitely.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth

The continued occupation of Eurasia by Coalition troops will now be viewed by HM Government as an act of terrorism. In my eyes, their presence in Eurasia is nothing more than a flimsy attempt to impose a reign of tyranny. Their oppression of our people is deplorable, and I ask for international aid to help expedite their removal, peacefully if at all possible.

Imperial Whyatica Announces Cancellation
The Imperial Whyatican Army announced today that troops would not be withdrawn from former British Londinium as terrorist activity has forced Imperial Army garrison troops to remain at previous levels. Both XI Corps and XV Corps will remain in their bases in Eurasia, and all Imperial Soldiers have been instructed to remain within the base and not step into sovereign Eurasian territory.

The Imperial government laughs at the 'Pragmatic Sanction', and has instructed it's soldiers to ignore the order and asks for cooperation between all Eurasian citizens to remove the government of Eurasia before the situation escalates further.

The Imperial Army wishes to remind the Eurasian government that it is still held to the terms of the peace treaty, and any violation will result in severe penalties.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth

The Eurasian government would like to report that nowhere in the peace treaty is co-operation with the terrorists who have violated the sanctity of our nation mandated. Furthermore, having Whyatican soldiers not step on sovereign Eurasian soil entails them leaving the country entirely; every square inch of Eurasia belongs to Eurasia and Eurasia only, with the possible exceptions of embassies, and only those authorised by the Eurasian government.

Secondly, the Pragmatic Recommendation was not an order to Imperial soldiers, but to all citizens of Eurasia, and a recommendation at that. I expect that all citizens who are loyal to their country, and not to the dregs of the international community who occupy Eurasia, to comply with it.

All Coalition soldiers are ordered to withdraw at once, without hesitation or delay. The Coalition is no longer welcome in Eurasia.

President Sir Phillip Sinclair

We would like to inform the Eurasian government that when it signed the peace treaty, it gave permission for Coalition military bases to be established in Eurasia. As such these bases are the sovereign land of their respective nations, no longer Eurasian territory. Any violation of the peace treaty or the military bases will result in severe penalties.

We also respectfully decline the 'Order' to withdraw.

OOC:Major assholes? That's nice. I was considering pulling out before you pulled this stunt.

Whyatican Military Base Bravo
A spotter on a high tower of the Bravo military base looked out - and saw Eurasian soldiers marching to their base, preparing to surround the overland route from the base, to the rest of the nation.

He radioed another spotter, asking him to confirm, and when the confirmation came, he radioed the main base with the confirmed sight of Eurasian troops, approaching the base.

On an encrypted Whyatican radio channel, the voice of the commanding General crackled out, with "All infantry, begin to man the defensive positions. Artillerymen arm your guns and gain locks on the incoming troops. Hold your fire unless fired upon. Get the pilots to their planes, we'll have local air superiority. Prepare for Defense Plan Stanley Alpha Zeta Two Zero."

Defense Plan SAZT20 was, in short, the defense plan for all Whyatican military bases in the case of Eurasian attack on the bases, the attempt to remove the Coalition from the nation.

Imperial tanks started up and moved to positions to attack the Eurasian army if it came to that, and infantry brigades armed themselves, got into combat uniform, and moved into the planned positions for the attack that they all believed was inevitable. With so many itchy trigger fingers on both sides, a simple mistake could result in millions of deaths..

General Singh, retreated down to the reinforced bunker, said into his headset, "Paint their fighters using the surface-to-air missile batteries and our RADAR. Prepare to launch all Wraiths, and as soon as the fighting starts launch the Sariels and target infrastructure. Indiscriminately. Get Admiral Belushi on the horn, get him blockading them and preventing exports. The government will pay dearly for their mistake here." he said, taking off his headset.

Numerous surface-to-air missile batteries, indigenously designed, painted the squadrons of Curiatii fighters above them with the base's sensors, ready to destroy every last one of them as soon as the hostilities started. Artillery moved into spread-out positions to prevent air superiority from destroying all of them at once, and tanks positioned themselves under areas covered by SAM battery fire or gun-based CIWS.

Snipers in the high towers locked in at Eurasian soldiers, little more than boys, prepared to blow their faces off as soon as the order was given. Artillery batteries, assisted by satellite intelligence, gained positive locks across the Eurasian military and was prepared to wipe out as much as possible before counter-fire could come.

General Singh, in the bunker, rubbed his eyes, and turned on his headset to the general channel.

"All units," he said, "Open fire."

___________________________
Thirty surface-to-air missile batteries belted off missiles at the RAF fighters, using Comadreja SAM missiles purchased from Space Union Defense Industries. Two squadrons of IWF-8 Wraith air superiority fighters launched from the runways far away from the Eurasian batteries effective range, getting to combat range as they entered their general air dominance strategy.

Artillery batteries, as the order was given, opened fire with a massive salvo of shells, ranging from the 155mm self-propelling artillery guns to the massive 31.7" shore battery borrowed from the mainland. Snipers from the high towers, already locked and loaded, ripped open on the infantry they had targetted, likely killing them instantly.

Multiple Rocket Launch Systems activated, sending a barrage of missiles, saturating the Eurasian military forces with firepower. Three Imperial brigades, as well as a number of tanks, prepared to exit the base and confront the Eurasian military directly after the artillery shells impacted..

His Majesty, King William Salisbury V, is both distraught and anxious over this long conflict that has occurred within the state of British Londinium, which now calls itself the Britannick Commonwealth of Eurasia. Seeking to establish a universal, Christian peace, His Majesty is wanting to host bilateral negotiations for ceasefires and the reestablishment of friendship between all parties.

His Majesty feels, certainly rightfully, that this prospective neutral site will allow the warriors to settle their differences, honor claims, and sue for reparations and certain terms that each side feels they may deserve.

Since the respective societies on all sides of the conflict are certainly exhausted and war weary, His Majesty would like to assure you that peace is the best option. Please tell us if you are to take up this proposal.

At the same time a strike team moved into dipose of the Eurasian government, 100 Styker and 50 tanks moved to surround Kensington Palace with 1000 troops ready to storm the building and arrest the president of Eurasia. Any hostile force was to be quelled under the orders of Clanon City. Clandonia would take control of the government in the capital and offer the coalition to take control their various sectors.

Clandonian Merlin helicopters fast roped down troops into the palace armed ready for close quarters battle. AH-64's supported the blockade of the city to stop enemy forces or resistance from trying to enter the city. If more resistance occured then perhaps the levels of troops would need to assesed.

On the other hand, the Japanese government would never do that because it does not consist of a bunch of stupid, hysterical children, apparently unlike that of British Londinium.

You have hardly made a better showing Out Of Character either, swearing at participants in the RP for carrying out IC actions (something that would have earned you an official warning if the person you childishly insulted had chosen to report you to the moderators) and RPing a civilian populace made up of ignorant government drones who bear a hatred for a force that has done nothing but despose a dictator who executed hundreds of thousands of them and brutally murdered their children, install a democratically elected government, pay to rebuild the country to above its original level of development and then withdraw to bases in the countryside simply to ensure that things dont revert to how they were, for some reason that you have never even attempted to explain.

It seems far more likely that you are simply metagaming to try to speed the departure of the coalition so that your President, who appears to be exactly the same character as the initial dictator just with a different name, can start killing people in "giant blenders" for little to no reason again. I'm sorry, but that isn't how nationstates works. Nationstates consists of many people, not just you and your own selfish wants. British Londinium got itself into this mess through its own actions, and as a result of the invasion Praetonia has not only lost troops to the aforementioned nazi drone populace who inexplicably hate them, but to a radioactive cloud that swept through South West of the country from No Endorse, a country nuked by Nova Brittanica. Praetonians are not prepared to have it all be for nothing - as it's going now they will never leave, even if, as is unlikely, you manage to kill all those troops currently stationed there.

The only way you will get them to leave (even more unlikely) is to convince them that British Londinium is sincere in its desire to become a proper liberal democracy. Right now, the vast majority of Praetonians no longer have any faith in the government of British Londinium, or any leader the aforementioned nazi drones of British Londinium might select, and thus want to see the whole country annexed into the Crown Commonwealth. The only reason the government doesn't do this is because Praetonia has made enemies recently who would be willing to pretend not to see through "President" Sinclair's paper-thin veil of respectability for the sake of expediency. Even so, the government is actively investigating how to assisinate Sinclair & co.

I don't think you realise that the coalition holds all the cards here. Having your President make hysterical rants about the vicious tyranny that a force of politically neutral peacekeepers and reconstruction contractors is enforcing on your country and at the same time supporting a terrorist organisation that has killed more people than the coalition since the hand-back of power (ie. more than none) is simply idiotic. It might be enough to persuade brain dead nazis in BL (who, as I have said, seem to make up the entire populace for some reason beknownst only to you) to support him, but it certainly isn't going to get the coalition to withdraw thinking that British Londinium has matured into a respectable, liberal state.

More to the point, why do you have out of character goals for your in-character nation? The purpose of nationstates is to tell an enjoyable story, not to "win". [First, I'd like to start off by apologising for the rants. They were uncalled for, I agree, and I sincerely apologise.

But, let me clarify a few things. First, I don't have a "win" mentality. I don't care if every single day, I RPed a war and lost every battle. I'm fine with that, because I realise that this is a game. I'm alright with losing, I'm alright with being nuked 24/7.

Now, as for the childish drone accusation. Iraq, for example, sees terrorist bombings on a daily basis. Do they stop? No. Are the terrorists accused of being drones? No. When the US bombs the crap out of a city, the terrorists get angrier, and that's how it is in Eurasia. My country's people despise foreign intervention, and as I've RPed it, they elected the crazed dictator, and they voted for the killing of children. Level all the complaints you want, but the people of this country freely elected said crazed dictator and approved of the killing of children. I don't see anyone invading Skgorria for being full of Nazis, and I'm sure the Skgorrians approve of Nazism, but no one complains there. Skgorria, sorry for bringing you into this.

I'm not trying to mix OOC and IC. I'm aware of their differences. But in many regards, a leader would share my opinions in that he would want this coalition out. In no way has the President sanctioned terror. The police has, but he hasn't. All my president has done (with the exception of surrounding bases with troops) has told his people not to cooperate or share data.]

But, let me clarify a few things. First, I don't have a "win" mentality. I don't care if every single day, I RPed a war and lost every battle. I'm fine with that, because I realise that this is a game. I'm alright with losing, I'm alright with being nuked 24/7.
I would love to believe you, but you are contradicted by your own words:

Can I have my fucking country back now?
Warmonger. This is shit and you know it.
I'm getting really pissed off with this thread - it's devolved from some sort of rational invasion to take down a dictator to a massive ego-stroking session for the Coalition nations. This is ridiculous. RP properly and stop being so damn eager to make yourself feel all powerful.
I agree that you don't seem to care about losing battles, provided that losing them does not make any difference to who controls your country.

This is precisely why I am complaining. No people on earth would approve of the killing of their own children by the government. It has been known to happen to children they view as "inferior", "foreign", "a threat", "too weak to survive" (Sparta) or whatever, but never to the children of the very people making the decisions. At the very least, the mothers of the murdered children and their friends and family would be up in arms.

You have a fair point that the coalition killed Eurasian civilians, but only because the civilians tried to kill the coalition troops, who then defended themselves. Why did the civilians do that in the first place, since the coalition said then (anticipating no trouble) that it would be withdrawing soon? In Iraq you don't see vast crowds of fearless suicidal civilians rushing at bayonets and machineguns carrying their babies, elderly and infirm under their arms (as you RPed happening). In Iraq you don't see universal opposition to the occupation force, even from those whose family and friends were directly harmed or killed by the previous regime.

And Iraq is not even a comparable example. Iraq opposed its invasion and was bombed; British Londinium was occupied by invitation of the government on signing of a treaty and there were no casualties until vigilantes decided to attack the coalition. In Iraq the reconstruction work is progressing slowly; in British Londinium it is progressing quickly. In Iraq the economy and infrastructure collapsed; in Britisih Londinium neither has happened. In Iraq there are lots of insurgents and general lawlessness; in British Londinium there is 1 terrorist who has killed less than 50 people, operating in just one city and the police have maintained order. The situations are not comparable at all.

I don't see anyone invading Skgorria for being full of Nazis, and I'm sure the Skgorrians approve of Nazism, but no one complains there. Skgorria, sorry for bringing you into this.
And? It isn't godmodding to be inconsistent.

I'm not trying to mix OOC and IC. I'm aware of their differences. But in many regards, a leader would share my opinions in that he would want this coalition out.
Why? What has the coalition done? The President and his country are net benficiaries of the coalition's involvement, since damage was light and reconstruction is large. The only people who have lost out from the occupation are a few participants in crazy (ie. godmodded) civilian Banzai charges and some policemen loyal to the old regime. But even if that we're the case, and the coalition were indeed evil baby-statching murders, how the hell is accusing them of being terrorists going to persuade them to leave? How the hell is saying that attacks on the coalition will not be investigated meant to reduce violence?

Your President is a hysterical moron. The only reason he is still in power is because you unrealistically RP your population agreeing with everything he says, even when it is stupid, damaging or, in some cases, factually wrong.

In no way has the President sanctioned terror. The police has, but he hasn't. All my president has done (with the exception of surrounding bases with troops) has told his people not to cooperate or share data.]
Your President has repeatedly requested that the coalition unconditionally accept the terrorists' demands and made no effort to try to catch them. The Praetonian government thinks the terrorists are in the employ of your President. OOCly, of course, we know they are wrong, but IC there is little to suggest otherwise.

Address of Sir President Sinclair Before Parliament

"Ladies and gentlemen. This is a time of hardship for our nation. We stand divided. I know that many of you oppose the Coalition occupation of our nation. It is understandable that you feel this way. Notwithstanding that, let me remind you that this government will support the Coalition in all ways possible. We must cooperate with the Coalition, despite the hatred that we might harbour for them. They are here for our benefit.

That does not mean that we can not attempt to expel them. But the manner in which we attempt to do so is key. If we are to force them out of our nation, then we must show them how great we truly are, that we are liberal, peace-loving democracy.

As for Pragmatic Recommendation 986, I have rescinded it, and have issued a formal apology to the Coalition governments."

OOC-Just my two cents. Although your presidents actions have so far made no sense and have been counterproductive, that doesn't mean that because you have been told of this that he should suddenly become a perfectly normal national leader. That just seems a bit odd to me. :\

OOC: Think of realism. A person can't have split personalities, and than switch whenever they want. They need to have one strong personality that can be shown. Also, if anything I learned from history, it is rare that people elect the same kind of person when having been defeated in war.

Don't go inconsistent. Better roleplays come from people being consistent, and doing what it usually expected, unless of a double-cross or some other weird twist. Being nukes is considered one of those life changing moments. Also, some people don't share what their strong emotion is, until a big event happens that they can link it too. Keep that in mind.

Anyways, good luck with your roleplay.

President Sinclair Announces New Anti-Terror Measures

As terrorism and anti-Coalition sentiment simmers throughout Eurasia, President Sinclair announced that new measures would be taken to combat these insurgents.

"Eurasia's previous approaches towards fighting those who wish to destroy the very foundation of our nation was ineffective," President Sinclair stated before Parliament. "We fought with bullets and shells. We must fight them with liberty and justice. Therefore, I have proposed a new series of amendments to the Eurasian constitution."

These amendments strengthen the federalist system, provide proper checks and balances of federal power, weaken the power of the Executive Order, and promote the rule of law. The amendments are currently awaiting the ratification of the Parliament and the Home Nations.

BL: No, you dont assume that I have done things. I tell you if I have done things. Why are you desperately waiting for the coalition to withdraw anyway? Whyatican Military Base Bravo
"Move out, men!" crackled across the communications of every squad leader in Bravo, as an armoured column left the gates of Bravo, watched closely by attack helicopters. Infantry brigades suited up, preparing to enter Kensington - again, and secure it - again. Doesn't this all sound a tad familiar to anyone? Oh well. Eurasia had broken the peace treaty, as was completely expected, and the government would pay the price. It may very well end up that parts of Eurasia would become a new colony for the Empire if all went well for them (or poorly for the Eurasians, as it may be.) Along with the armoured column went the first company of Imperator Urbanus anti-riot tanks. Bought from Doomingsland some time ago, it is believed that these tanks will do a more efficient job of halting riots than the normal main battle tanks.

The first objective was to enter the city of Kensington - or at least, what USED to be the city of Kensington, before the bizarre hyperurbanisation took hold in the Eurasian southern island and made it basically one contiguous city. Carrying on.

Wings of warplanes, some from the factories of Space Union and some from the factories of Tyrandis, lifted off from the runways of Bravo, soon to be replaced by two massive C-1 Stormbringer transports, directly from the Impervm Doomanvm. General Singh, trying to multitask and failing, went out to the runways to greet the Doomani mercenaries he had called in, and what he saw would surprise him.

The first man disembarked from the transport plane riding a new Imperator Urbanus tank like it was a horse. He had a short Roman sword in one hand, was dressed in Legionaire-style armour, had an estimated five pounds of facial hair, and, bizarrely enough, wore two eye patches.

So these are the Doomani mercenaries I called? They look like circus clowns.. Singh tossed away the thought, and continued to watch amusingly as hundreds of Doomani mercenary soldiers piled out of the transport planes, bringing tanks, guns, and other heavy equipment with them. Still, he respected these fighting men, despite the fact that they did wear rather silly costumes at times. They took their Roman influence a little far at times.

The first Imperator Urbanus tank stopped about ten feet from General Singh, and the Doomani jumped off. He somehow managed to walk over in the general direction of Singh, and said, "Right then. I'm Centurion Varus Lentallus Sulla." The problem is, he was facing the wrong direction. Singh tapped him on the shoulder, and said, "I'm General Singh, in command of this operation. My government's mission for you, to put it plainly, is to go raise some hell."

Sulla took off the eye patch over his right eye, pulled a kerchief from his armour (from what pocket is unknown), and wiped his eye. A thin foggy layer disappeared, and Sulla could see again. "Right then. Gotta clean off me eye every now and then, gets all fogged up going t'new places. Cheap Izistani crap..Anyway, raising hell's me job, mate, so just point me and mine in the direction and there won't be much crawling 'round after we're done."

"Good. I sent forces north to capture their capital province, you and yours go south and do what you do best."

"Yar. How much are we getting paid for this again?"

"Somewhere 'round a billion dubloons and a goat for your company." Singh said, trying to restrain his laughter at this Roman-Pirate-Mercenary.

"Sounds like a plan to me, boss. 'Ey, idiots! Get your stuff together and let's move out! We go south!" Sulla yelled, and the roman-pirate-mercenary crew yelled in delight and sped up the process of unloading their gear from the transports.

General Singh smiled at the mercenaries, and he heard in his headset, "Stanley 9 reporting in."

Air chatter from the air groups.

Air above Kensington
With the outbreak of hostilities, numerous fighter wings were launched to destroy as much government infrastructure as possible - radio towers were targetted, tv stations, Eurasian government offices, military, everything. Assisting in this were the silent Sariel stealth bombers, moving undetected through Eurasian airspace to carpet bomb Eurasian military bases with firey dooom. Airbases in particular were targetted - Sariels flew over them, dropping enough bombs to destroy any planes left out, as well as crater the runways enough to make them totally useless pending repair for..some time. Some particularly ruthless Sariel pilots "accidentally" let their payloads loose in civilian neighborhoods, which would earn them the 'thumbs-down' in their debriefing but no real punishment. Anti-radiation missiles were launched against Eurasian RADAR posts, which would in all likelyhood prevent the Eurasians from seeing the non-stealthed planes, much less attempt to find the stealthed Sariel.

Back in Base Bravo
As the "RomanPirateMercenary" crew prepared to leave, the base's band saw the commotion and had an opportunity for some fun.

In the quarters for the band, the drum major said, "Hey, you guys know the fanfare, yeah? Let's play that, but James, put down a rock snare line and Rusty, play a metal song to go with the bugles. Let's get out there!"

The band laughed to themselves. Did their drum major just tell them to play some 'Crusader rock'? Oh well, they thought it would be pretty cool.

The band went outside with their instruments, and the guitar player plugged his amplifier into an external outlet. After a quick tuning, the five bugle players began with their traditional fanfare, with a traditional snare drum backing. Then suddenly the guitar player hit a heavy, distorted chord, and the snare player started going insane with a metal-sounding drum line, and the rest of the horn players improvised with them.

Crusader rock. How appropriate for the Doomani.

Sulla was easily the most eccentric of the men; the others were purely professional. While not as clean-cut as troops serving in the Imperial Army, these men had all served as Legionaries before: all had over fifteen years experience in the Imperial Army, most had even more. Very few of them were clean shaven; most had a bit of stuble from lack of shaving over the past few busy days.

They all wore grey digital-pattern BDUs with their Roman-esque armored vests over them, tactical load-bearing rigs over those; many wore sunglasses, and headgear ranging from boonie hats and field caps to bandanas. All of them bore a significant amount of scars both on their face and their exposed arms (most of them had rolled-up sleeves). All carried DDI-made infantry weapons: DR-83-II tactical rifles, DMG-83 light machineguns, DAT-19 anti-tank launchers, DAC-97 sub machineguns to name a few. With the exception of Sulla, they were a very hardened, serious bunch. These men were employees of DoomCorp, the largest corporation in the Imperium, which maintained a massive mercenary army, which catered to clients of all sorts.

The men were delighted with the crusader rock played by the base's band, causing many of them to smile as they began to mount up, walking up the rear ramps of the Imperator-U tanks for the ride south. The unit's advance element, consisting of armored CMPL utility vehicles, were the first to exit the base, forming a convoy along the road.

The units that followed consisted of MAD.IVU Imperator-U urban warfare tanks with mounted infantry, and towards the rear of the convoy the Millenium's local artillery support: two Centuries of self-propelled 203mm mortars. Air cover was to be provided by the Whyaticans.

CEO Jon Maddox of King Maddox Restaurants paced in his office on the sixtieth floor.

Stupid health restaurants, he thought angrily. Goddamn hippies, that's what they are.

In the distance, he saw the bombs and missiles strike Kensington. A missile struck his office and destroyed it, glass flying everywhere, propelled by the flames of the explosions.

Downtown Kensington

Bombs struck Kensington Palace, destroying the ornate fountains and elaborate infrastructure. Sculptures of the emperors and empresses of old laid scattered amongst the rubble.

"Mr. President!" shouted a Prætorian Guard. "We've got to get you out of here!"

The President was slouched over his desk, coughing blood. The Guard led the President out of the office. Sirens of police vehicles and ambulances turned the capital into a cacophony of emergency klaxons. As the President succumbed to unconsciousness, he saw the severed head of the Vice President. He laughed as he passed out.

Eurasian High Command

The LCD screens of the display charts and strategic maps were in shambles on the floor. The Minister for Defence stood in the ruined building, with most of the staff dead or close to it. One of the screens crackled to life, showing a status report. All of Kensington was in ruins, with military infrastructure almost nonexistant, the troops disabled before they could respond.

Outskirts of Kensington
The armoured company slowed it's advance down, beginning a crawl through the streets of Kensington as insurgent activity was expected. Loudspeakers shouted through the roads, "Please remain in your homes. The Coalition is assuming control, due to a breach in the peace treaty by former President Sinclair. Do not leave your homes. Anyone exiting may be shot."

Thousands of infantry began a street-by-street, alley-by-alley sweep, targetting Eurasian fighting men in particular. They had no command and control - It would be difficult for them to form an organized response to the Imperial troops, and seeing as the bombing campaign ceased once the C4I was destroyed, there would be little friendly fire. The Whyatican infantry were more careful this time through - Infantrymen began searching every house in a block, seizing anything that could be used as a weapon, and leaving, but not before installing surveillance equipment. The infrastructure was being shipped in for large-scale surveillance from the mainland, as parts of Steelian doctrine were being brought into the Whyatican doctrine for large-scale occupation. Casualties seemed to be minimal, for the most part - however, there may be a full-scale insurrection as the news hit everyone else in Eurasia.
