When I was a young boy my father took me into the city
to see a marching band
He said "Son when you grow up, would you be, the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you, defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?"
Because one day I'll leave you a phantom to lead you in the summer to join the Black Parade.
- My Chemical Romance

Fires burned all over the Confederacy as Griffincrest mercenaries and Confederate forces swarmed down on the factories all over the nation. Dozens of Griffincrest oil refineries lit up the night sky, along with hundreds of other businesses, torched in the name of freedom. The sound of AK fire rang out through the night, and in response came the return fire, most likely to be in the form of the Confederate AR22A3 or Griffincrest G36E. Hundreds of bodies lay scattered across the vast jungle expanse of Blackhelm as small fights raged. Chancellor Blackhelm immediatly declared the nation to be in a state of emergency. Not even the capital city was safe. Within the hour of the first attack, assaults on police stations all around Paradise City began to pour in. Martial law was being enforced throughout the city, pulling soldiers off of the vital quarantine around the Paradise Slums. The old rebels, who had remained so quiet for so long, had become fed up with the nation. They vowed that they would be the ones to down Griffincrest once and for all. The were lead by the same charismatic General they were in the civil war, General Julius Blackhorse. The were the CWP, the Communist Workers Party.

Let it be known that the Communist Workers Party has our full support. We urge them to fight with every ounce of energy each of their individual bodies can muster. Tear down the walls that capitalism has built in your lives, annihilate the scum that is Griffincrest once and for all!

Oh, and, want some guns?

At the small airfield that the CWP had owned in the jungle near Angel Bay, General Blackhorse planned his assault. He remembered the effectiveness of his Katyusha's and Mi-24's against the Otariet incursion during the last war, and also remembered the lesson he learned the hard way when he ordered his men to full out assault a heavily armed, wel entrenched enemy. He was going to look for soft targets, and when he found them, he would absolutely obliterate them.

His first target would be a group of GSF mercenaries nearing his base. Scouts reprted nearly two hundred of them, supported by ten Mars LBT's. He immediatly ordered his fighters into the jungles, and they set up their mortars in minutes. The order to fire was soon given, and hundreds of mortar shells and thousands of rockets poured down onto the unsuspecting mercenaries. The men quickly began to scatter and attempted to regroup. That was when the Mi-24 would come into play, strafing the men and killing around five. As it stopped to make a second pass, one of the mercenaries opened up with his Javelin, the rocket smashing into the helicopter and littering the ground with its pieces. At the exact moment the missile made contact, dozens of guerillas sprang from the forest, opening up in a torrent of fire.

Not one mercenary made it out alive.

A Message From The Supreme Prophet to Leaders of The Blackhelm Confederacy & The CWP

I am horrified to see such destruction plague any land and your nation is no different. Due to my birthright to the title I am no older than seventeen and such sights disturb me even after years of trying to force the horror from my heart. It is for that reason I have made the Imperium's chief foreign concern helping end domestic strife within any nation that requests it. This attempt to overthrow a government will result in nothing but rampant death and chaos in any nation as proven within your very own country.

In an effort to end this horror before it spins out of control I ask that all parties large or small agree to a ceasefire and at least attempt diplomacy. The leaders of the warring factions owe it to not just themselves but the people dead and alive who have been affected by this conflict already. I feel that the leaders might be stubborn but, if you wish to pursue a course of misery than I ask you to look into the eye of a mother who outlived her son because of your war... I ask you to tell a child you are the reason that they have no father or mother and then continue on your mission of spreading death and violence.

I beg of the leaders of the factions to at least consider this offer of peace.

Signed,
Supreme Prophet Sedo Eternus

"Goddamnit!" The Supreme Admiral yelled as he slammed his fist into the table. The force of the hit managed to crack it. "I want our soldiers on Confederacy by dawn! Send the First Grand Fleet for naval support, and the First, Second, and Third Armies better be on thier way before this escalalates!"

The members of the Admiral's Cabinet could see the vains bulging out of his neck and face. They knew he wanted some one's head. They all qucikly got to work for fear of it being their head that he wanted. He was not going to let his allies fall.

Director of Covert Warfare, Ken Sley, did what few others in the room had the balls to do. He addressed the Admiral, "Sir?"

"What the fuck do want?!" Crowley roared.

Sley took a gulped and took a deep breath, "Shall I call the Horsemen?"

"You mean you haven't done that yet?!" The Admiral was furious. The rest of the room took a step back. Sley quickly took out his secure cellular.

"Code Red, men, Get your asses to the docks now!" He quickly hung up and joined a few of the other Cabinet members arround a map who were planning the landing and what to do after that.

The Admiral went off to his personal quarters. The doctors told him that his stress and anger could be unhealthy. He felt a slight pain in his left shoulder. Muttering to himself he said, "I'll get it checked out in the morning."

Big Webb was preparing for what he expected to be one of the most stressful question times that he had been involved in. Walking into the Lower House Chamber, he gently bowed toward the Speaker’s Chair and headed toward his seat on the Treasury Benches. With his eyes fixed at a painting depicting the Empire’s founder, he listened very carefully to the questions as they were posed.

“Mr. Speaker”

“I call upon the Honourable Samuel Johnson”

“My question is to the Minister of Defence and asks – why is he interested in getting involved in a civil war in the Blackhelm Confederacy”

Big Webb arose to face his opponent. Samuel Johnson was a man with a well known reputation for attempting to humiliate the government, and as the former Communist Party Deputy Leader, had a vested interest in ensuring that a revolution in whatever country it was went ahead.

“Mr. Speaker, it is in the interests of our Empire to ensure that Communism does not get a foothold in our world. We could certainly fight against the Communist Workers Party in the Blackhelm Confederacy and win. Mr. Speaker, we are involved to ensure that the freedoms of their people are maintained – in short to ensure that they do not face the horrors that have befallen the many nations of our world.”

After question time, Big Webb moved out of the chamber, bowed toward the Speaker’s Chair and moved toward his office and began to think carefully. He had just committed half a million troops, 267 naval vessels as well as nearly two-thousand aircraft in a Civil War on the other side of the world. Perhaps it would be a gamble that would work, it would certainly stop the Communists from taking control of yet another nation; however, getting involved in Civil Wars was rarely beneficial – at least, that is what he had been told by General Winston Smith.

While all the debate was going on back home, the troops of the Empire were sitting in their ships in international waters, waiting for the advice of Griffincrest forces as to where they could land, and were they would aid in their fight to ensure that Communism did not gain a foothold in yet another nation.

With the Confederate military no longer enforcing martial law in the massive sprawling Paradise Slums, the area became a lawless waste land. Heavily armed gangs soon started appearing, robbing, looting, burning, and all around doing bad things. The worst effected groups in the slums, however, were the foreigners and the Muslims. Both groups had been mistrusted for years, and now that mistrust had broken out into violence. The few military groups remaining in the slums set up safe zones for the foreigners in the slums, but the Muslims were ordered to go to their nearest mosque.

For the gangs, this only made for better targets. The dozens of Muslims packed up in the small mosques allowed them to slaughter many innocents at a time. At some mosques, the men inside fought back, but it was rare that they drove off the attackers. It was rare, but it still did happen in some places.

Rigged up pick up trucks were driving through the slums, often times behind them dragging the mutilated bodies of foreigners and Muslims. It was a grim time for the entire nation.

Um, this'll sound a bit wierd...

But would you like to set up a lil ol' airbase in PROHT?
Any size you want, only 2 catches.

(pick any 2 of the 3)

We pick where it will be
We get an Embassy (12 gaurds, 25 other personel, 2 armored vehicles, 4 wagons, 16 white horses, a truck, and a limo in any location deemed suitable for raising 16 horses and maintaining the mentioned hardware)
I'm allowed into the CA

OOC: Lol, your are like the anti-GASN GASN member.

An airbase in the PROHT is a huge plus to Griffincrest. We would be delighted to have one there. Name the cost, location, and capacity. As for the embassy, we do not own the government but we can pull strings, so consider the embassy done, but we must ask, why the horses?

Finally, your allowance to the CA is of course welcome. We await to see your application.

K, we'll place that on the East coast of New Roanoke Island.

Paradise City outskirts, "Embassy row", Hurtian Embassy
The plce was in shambles, still, what remained of the staff began their contingency plan. (Yep, there always was a 'in case the nation plungs into a civil war/I want to assasinate somebody" plan, hence the two tanks and those horses... more on that later...)

The first thing they did was let the horses free, sort of, having them drag wagons loaded with personal effects and unattended, and escorted by their rwo tanks would be more correct; and it wasn't even the first thing they did, so This narrative is going to start from after they found their embassy a bloody mess (litetrally, blood everywhere) after their failed attempt to rescue C. Griffencrest.

[Not sure if his whereaouts are public knowledge anymore]

After picking up the pieces, roughly 5 delegates mysteriously dissapeared. Not much was thought about it until a number of dead bodies started piling up in and around Paradise, these killings, unlike regular gangland shootings, where themed and well executed, each report suggested that they were done each by a single person, but it was also noted that it was done as a group that was particularily well led.

The killings stopped just before the terrorists struck...

Things went from bad to worse, as now embassy row was under siege by angry locals, and they had plenty reason to be angry with the Hurtian ministry, for not long before, Hurtian paramilitary forces conducted a series of lightning raids that could be consided by many as war crimes... Aghainst citizens of Blackhelm...

The boarded windows may have kept out the occasional thrown cobblstone, but such flimsy barricasdes were of little use against suicidal attacks involving a pickup truck ramming in the front door...

The gaurds managed to keep them in check for now with protracted intra-house fighting, at this time, two unoccupied gaurds led the others to the IFVs for safe passage out.

Before leaving, one of the delegates managed to send a call for reinforcements to People's Republic Of Hurtful Thoughts.

Major General Johann Zachriad walked through the halls of the President, he assumed, of The Blackhelm Confederacy.

"The things I do for my country," He though solemnly, as he approached the Secretary for the President.

"Miss," he said. "I am here to speak with the President. I am.....a foreign employee of his. It is important that I speak with him." Johann was sure the woman would note the German accent, and be curious as to why this Wanderjarian was here.

"To clear your curiosity," He said, "I am a Mercenary hired by the Blackhelm Government. We are under orders to defend the Blackhelm Confederacy, and this new Communist Rebellion," he paused, listening to the distant gunfire, "Is what we are being paid to defend against. Of course, you do not need to know this. That is what I must speak to your leader about. What our orders are."

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen."

His voice echoed slighly in the small four man cabin. He was never really the religious type but it something that he did before every mission. He had picked it up from his old squad leader, Michael Jappa. Just as Matthew did now Jappa had said this prayer almost every time he left the hills for a mission. Almost. The only time Jappa hadn't Matthew saw him fall to sniper fire.

Matthew tried not to think of that. He had to focus on the mission before him. He knew it would be tough but so had all of his other ones. He was the best soldier in the Hills, possibly one of the best in the world.

There was a knock at the door. A voice carried through, "Major Crowley! Are you in there?"

"Enter!" Matthew Crowley responded.

Captain David Solomon opened the door and walked in, "We're going to land within the hour, sir, the X.O. wanted me to tell you to suit up."

"Sure, I'll be on deck in a few minutes," Crowley responded

---

There were several members drafting a letter to the CEO of Griffencrest. One of them, Dennis Fluck, walked over to the door that led directly to the Admiral's quarters, "Sir?"

"Come in!" Crowley yelled as he got up to talk.

Fluck came in and started, "We have a letter ready to be sent to Griffencrest."

"Good, send it no-" The Admrial was cut short but a lack of breath. He felt himself falling but couldn't stop himself. The pain in his shoulder was excrutiating for the half of a second before he passed out.

"Get a doctor in here!" Fluck yelled seeing his superior on the ground.

A parametic that was stationed outside came flying in but it was too late, "I'm sorry sirs," He began, "The Admiral is dead."

PROHT, Embassy Row is in the downtown area, which is very safe. It is where most of the rich Confederates live, and where one would be most like to run into Tiberius Griffincrest causing problems or Julia Griffincrest and Cordelia Blackhelm out at some club or party. The few Mafia personnel had barricaded themselves into the Griffencrest Main Headquarters, the lobby had been shattered and they had organized the interns and office workers into dragging chairs, tables, cubicle dividers, even doors into a wall to replace the damaged windows.

Mafia FMK-3s were passed out to anyone who even spent time at a range to help hold the wall together. It was a hasty defense composed of Griffencrest guards, Mafia personnel, and interns holding pistols and submachine guns.

A few 'terrorists' screaming 'Allahu Ackbar' had charged the building with stolen weapons killing the lobby guards. Everyone's nerves were shot, and shell casings littered the ground and were a major hazard to anyone attempting to walk faster than 1 kph.

The head of the resistance was trying to get his burst transmission set to work, but there was too much interference from military channels and he couldn't find a clear frequency.

General Winston Smith had been waiting on the bridge of the APIV Captain Helios, and waiting, and waiting. He had been waiting for instructions from the anti-Communist forces as to whether or not he could invade, and he had received no instructions. He was about to take matters into his own hands.

"Captain, prepare the fighters - and ensure that our bombers are able to come in"

"Sir, are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes Captain, perhaps a one hundred plane wake up call will pound those Communists back to the other side of the Stone Age, and at the very least, show the anti-Communists that we are their allies."

While all this was going on, the chief Radio Operator was calmly walking up to the bridge, and when he saw the General, he saluted and prepared to speak

"Go ahead son."

"General, there seems to be a lot of coded traffic; and it doesn't sound normal - certainly not what we have heard over the last couple of days."

General Smith and the chief Radio Operator went back into the wheelhouse and looked at the radar. Like much of what was placed into the Imperial forces, it was state of the art and could see a good five hundred miles. Both General and Radio Operator saw the big dot about one-hundred and fifty miles to the North-West.

"More ships I suppose sir?"

"Yep, more ships son, but whether they are friendly or not, that is another question. Get the Captain for me and tell him to have only fifty planes launched. I want a recon mission sent to investigate - I don't want any Commie interference with my landing"

Matthew Crowley walked onto the bridge. His comabat dress making him stand out from all but three other soldiers in the room. He wore the uniform of all members of the Hillian Army. The only difference was that there were no signs of rank, or even name. Over his uniform was a chest guard exactly like those the fighting soldier wore as a part of their battle suit. The right shoulder was somewhat larger so that the recoil from his K3 wouldn't shatter his bones.

"Major Matthew Crowley, reporting for duty!" He said as he entered.

"Captain Yuri Mancuso," the captain of the ship said as he extened his hand, "And that guy of there is the X.O., John Marlin."

"Good to meet you sirs, what do you have for me?" Crowley asked.

"You'll be inserted by an RIB ten miles south of the landing zone. You'll act as recon and if need be a first stand until you are releived, you got that?"

"Yes sir!" Crowley stated.

"Now I beleive that the admiral needs to have a word with you." Mancuso gestured towards a door to his right.

Crowley walked through and saw the admiral in his black officer's suit. The only difference in his unifrom from that of a typical Naval officer was that he was wearing a black beret. "I'm sorry Matthew," Admiral Markus Smeddy began, "It is a painful thing for me to have to tell you this, but your father has passed away."

Crowley felt like he had been punched in the stomach by the stongest man in the world. "How?"

"A heart attack, I'm sorry," The admiral responed quietly.

An alarm sounded. It was time to make landfall. "Hurry up and get out there," The admiral told him, "You father died protecting the Hills and it's allies, respect him and protect them as well."

Crowley ran out of the room and to the RIB that was waiting for him. His team was already in it. "Lets go!" He yelled, "For the Supreme Admiral!"

---

The Cabinet now had a tough problem. The law stated that the Supreme Admiral position could only be filled by a Crowley. The Crowley of the highest rank in the military would be the one who lead the country. However, there were two High General's amongst the Crowley Heirs. The first was General Carrol Crowley of the Joint Tech Brigades. The second was the leader of the Black Berets, General Dennis Crowley. Both were seen as great pontential sucessors. The Cabinet was literally split down the middle on this one. Until they could decide, Jack Teirney, head of Foriegn Relations, would lead the nation.

He sent out a letter to Blackhelm and Griffencrest:

From the desk of Jack Teirney, Head of Hillian Foriegn Relations

We know of your strife and wish to aid. Whether you want our help or not our troops are landing on you're shores as I type this message. We will not let a friend of the Hills fall to the Hammer and Sickle of Evil.

-Sincerely,
Jack Teirney, Head of Hillian Foriegn Relations

We are practically a nationstate on our own, with territories in Slovonia and the former Galation and nearly 4 million various personnel with a million soldiers. Unbalanced sure, but with the decontamination efforts going on we shall soon be a true power. Red Islands, sounds interesting, what do you think.

I'm sure it is obvious what is going on. Your government needs help, and we need to address the enemy fleet, therefore we shall move our Mafia forces into assist. We shall move first, when we get close then you strike and we strike.

General Blackhorse responded to the Soviet request for coordinates, and warned him that the Confederacy had unrivaled control of the skies, and flying in supplies would be incredibly unwise. The destination for the supplies should be somewhere around Angel Bay.

He then penned another letter to New Ausha. In it, he requested about one hundred Aushan officers to be sent over to help train his guerillas and make them into a formidable force.

The General smirked and nodded. "Then I'll report back to my unit and proceed immediately." With that, he turned, and walked out of the office. As he exited the building, and returned to his Humvee with several Wanderjarian Soldiers standing around it, guarding against any possible attackers, he said, "Lets get back to the base boys. We have work to do."

Several hours later, back at the Wanderjarian Base, the 800 K-1 Tanks, and 200 Behemoth IIs were ready to move out. Over fifteen thousand fully WIWS/FFW laden troops were ready in their Renault Sherpa trucks to move out immediately. The proceeded to mobilize, and left the base, heading South towards their objective.

General Zacharias immediately ordered the Wanderjarian M-198 Artillery Cannons to be ready to fire, and boarded his personal Command Bradley.

The bombers and their fighter escort were making their way to the Communist positions on the Blackhelm Confederacy. Expecting there to be significant opposition, they were flying with strict radio silence. To the surprise of the airmen, there was no Communist opposition, and they proceeded, ready to bomb them back into the Stone Age, or that is what their orders had been.

----------------------------

Meanwhile, a recon group was flying over the waters, attempting to find out more about the identity of a mysterious naval outfit that was sitting in the waters. Soon enough they had found them, and were radioing back to the APIV Helios

"These ships look Aushan to us"

"Can you confirm"

"No sir, I cannot confirm, however, we will find out soon if they are friendly or not"

---------------------------

While all this was going on, General Smith noticed another group of vessels on the radar. Perhaps those vessels were friendly as well. Just as he was thinking this, the Captain walked in once again

"Captain, I think there is another group of vessels," mentioned General Smith as he pointed toward a block on the radar. "Perhaps another recon unit could be sent, just to see who they are and whether they are friendly or not."

"Sir, I would wait on that. I have just been to the radio room, and apparently our first recon unit has come across Aushan vessels. You know as well as I do that they are friendly to those goddamn Godless Commies, and we can in a few seconds be without a group of valuable fighters. I would wait till they come back."

Aushan Aircraft fueled up, shooting off the Aushan Carrier Swift Fire. The various fighters where recon jets, taking intel on enemy positions and movements.

Submarines continued launching missiles at ground targets such as bunkers and other various fortifications, while being wary of civilian presences.

Battleships drew closer too the coastlines, in tightly packed formations, with AA destroyers on the outside defense ring, while battleships came into range, too use their deck guns. They also began utilizing their patriot and tomahawk missiles, along with some cruise missiles as well.

Laser guided long range bombs sailed towards enemy vehicles, from high in the sky.

The bomber formation was now at 100, flying at maximum ceiling, too drop their payload on their target.

The Radio Room on the APIV Helios was going crazy. At least twenty operators were listening in on every conversation imaginable, while several decoding machines were going crazy, their silicon germanium chips processing the messages which great speed - however, even then, it would take some minutes for messages to decode, as every possible combination was tried and rejected by the machine.

"Sir, this message just came from one of the machines, I think it may be of interest"

"Every goddamn message is of use in this, tell me"

"The message is a call for identification from Aushan vessels - I think it is targeted at our recon unit. How should they respond sir?"

"They will certainly not be getting that message, their decrypting machines are only designed for our code. Get the radio operators to identify them as Empire of Alexandrian Ptolemais planes, send it through the encrypter and inform the jets that there is interest and that they should proceed to climb."

"Climb sir, but why?"

"Between you and me - the Aushans are Godless Communists, they will attack us very quickly. The higher our jets are, the more they can dive - if they dive, then they can go supersonic much more quickly."

"Sir, what do you know of the Empire of Alexandrian Ptolemais?"

"Nothing yet, the ministry will undoubtibly have files on them, well need too bush up on them. All we know is that they are moving in too wipe out the communists."

"So they become our enemy?"

The captain nodded.

"For anti-commies, they'd be surprised too know they we weren't communists, very conservative in fact."

The first mate chuckled.

"I'd expect that too surprise them. Nevertheless why do we support the communists here?"

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

The captain smiled.

Code breakers worked furiously, at their modern stations, in a race against time, and the enemy.

A formation of Interceptors flew off the deck of the Swift Fire, screaming through the air.

"Weapons hot, don't let em out of your sight boys. Only fire if fired upon."

OOC: Im not pulling this from nothing, but everyone in my navy is speaking German, and a little dutch. Three hundred ships all headed at full speed for the shoreline. As soon as they made land fall they retreated back to the fleet to carry more of the soldiers who were waiting patiently on board.

Within an hour there were over a hundred thousand soldiers on shore. Hundreds of RIBs could be seen amongst the three hundred landing craft. "Sir!" Major Alexander Gummel yelled as he approached the General who just landed, "My men are reporting all clear."

"Good," General Mark Carlson said as he grabbed his radio. He yelled into, "We're good, send the Mullberries!"

Five extra long ships started to approach the shore. The rest of the fleet went with them. The Mulberries would act as a dock until they managed to capture a port.

Rain was pouring down upon them as they made land fall. The immediately pushed the boat back out to see. Each man had with him their standard gear, A K3 Liberator, two Viper R-90 pistols, and a Black widow Machette. Each man also had special equipment. One had claymores, and others explosives. Another had an extensive first aid kit. The third had a radio. Matthew had a collapseable sniper rifle. They were the four finest soldiers in the Hills. They were the Four Horsemen.

"Shit!" The Admiral mumbled. "How did we not see them before?!"

"I don't know sir! Must have been a glitch!" The reply came.

The Admiral though for a second, "How do we know this isn't a glitch?"

"Running Diagnostics now sir but if we're being sabotaged we won't be able to tell easily," The seaman stated.

"Who said anything about sabotage?! Send up the planes!" The Admiral ordered.

A single SR-71 Blackbird left the flight deck of a carrier. It quickly rose to over 75,000 feet. It circled over head of the fleet taking pictures for reference. It also sent out a short message.

The Armor Division moved ahead of the rest of the Corps, as they made their way to Griffincrest Manor. The vast clouds of dust kicked up by the enourmous tanks could be seen for miles, however this may have been indistinguishable from the fires burning due to the Communist Revolution.

Good.

These Mercenaries, though hired by the Blackhelm Government, were Wanderjarians first, and Socialists at that. If their Government believed they would support them against the Insurgents, then they were truly blind and stupid, even more so than the Wanderjarian Government believed.

Yet again: Good.

The Manor would never see what was coming. Griffincrest Mercenary emplacements were everywhere surrounding the complex, due to the frequent assaults, raids, etc made by the Aesonic Shadowmen, and the Wanderjarian GSG-9, both of which Mr. Griffincrest had grown to despise. He had reason too. They killed his girl. They kidnapped his Daughter. They slaughtered hundreds, upon hundreds of his men. They were a nightmare from which there was no escape, and no longer would he be able to run.

The Armored Fist of Wanderjar would not be stopped.

They came forth, as though a mighty demon from the depths of hell, spitting shell after shell of high explosive destruction at enemy positions, followed by mass chatterings of their coaxial guns, cutting apart men alive, followed by the horror of seeing these unstoppable rolling beasts thundering ever closer.

Artillery cannons from the Wanderjarian Base began firing EXCALIBUR Rounds, GPS guided artillery shells which could hit any target within seven feet of its intended position. These sailed through the air into the enemies fortifications, in order to make the assault easier on the Wanderjarian infantry, when they dismounted their trucks and began the march on the Manor. However, hopefully these would be destroyed by the Behemoths and K-1s, however it was unavoidable that missed targets would be found, these would certainly be cleaned up by the Infantry.

Meanwhile, the Wanderjarian GSG-9 team which had been in country serving as a sleeper cell for some time, rode in the rear of the assault. After the outer perimeter was clear, these elite warriors would enter the building and capture Claudius Griffincrest. Alive. After this, he would be exfiltrated to a Wanderjarian Carrier out in the open ocean. From there, he would be flown back to Wanderjar for the trial he so richly deserved.

“Onwards men!” Shouted General Zacharias from his Command Bradley, switching camera views on his Command and Control console to see everything down to what his Platoon Leaders saw. “You will have them soon! Do not relent! Kill them all! If they surrender, make sure they know we are Wanderjarians!”

As the fires of war finally came to Griffincrest Manor, and the Wanderjarian Paramilitary Army began its assault, Lord Governor Baker proceeded to inform his allies:

"All Allied Nations of the Socialist Commonwealth of Wanderjar. Today, the operation which we have made so many plans for, strived so hard to get ready for, made so many pains and sacrifices to ready our men and materials for, is upon us. This Mission is to benefit all mankind. This mission, this noble undertaking, is to remove a blight upon the world which has plagued us for far too long. As the Griffincrest Oil Corporation invaded nations, and raped them for their resources, and enslaved and belittled their people, and exploited the workers of the world, we have watched and done all we can to prevent this. However, it was never enough. We opposed them to the ends of the Earth, but it was never enough. They continued their pillages, their Crusades of Greed, and we sat back, helpless.

No longer. No longer will we, free people of the world, tolerate this! Today, we strike back! Today, we end the tyranny of the Griffincrest Corporation, and forge a new era of Freedom and justice which shall never be forgotten. Today, we bring down the Corporation. Tommorrow, we remove the veil of Darkness that the world wears as long as they live.

It is an honor to do battle with you all. May each of you when you come here to fight, know well that your men come for a good cause. Here there is no doubt that we are fighting for the rights of people everywhere, so that others may know truly what freedom is.

Good luck to you all.

~Lord Governor Christoph Baker"

The fleet launched its F-14s with the AIM-120 along with a couple of Earwig fighters, the Mafia's upgrade of the Folland Gnat. They were headed straight toward the New Aushan fleet to put down their aircover while Moskit antishipping missiles, the Soviet's carrier killers missiles were loaded with C-12 charges, much more powerful than the standard explosive and shaped to slice through a ship's battleplate like a hot knife through butter. They were aimed for the fleet's carriers, each one targetted for the bridge.

The Admiral read the message sent to him by the Mafia. "Shit! Open fire on the unknown fleet. It's New Ausha! The Mafia's got the other side of them. And get those goddamn Seaguls up before I give another order!"

Dozens of naval artilery cannons opened fire on the New Aushans. Froma the carries hundreds of Seagul fighters took to the air. Immediatly an number of them dropped low so as to avoid anti air and possibly radar detection. Others flew high into the air hoping to stay out of the AA's range. Tons of missiles flew from hard points all over the Seaguls.

Then came wave two. Hundreds of A-7 Wraiths took off from the Carriers. All of them instantly engaged their Archangel Stealth Systems. They quickly moved towards the enemy fleet, low to the water to provide better protection from anti air, as soon as they were in range they fired off their AGMs and quickly fell back before they climbed high into the air so that they could all drop their small Fuel Air Bomb.

Nice...

The delegates, after recieving an encoded message, which when decoded read:
"Hey diddle diddle, the black cat and the red fiddle, the blue cow jumped over the moon, the spoon slept with the fork."

The agents then knew that secrecy was no longer necessary, and they ALL prepared for battle, as every single delegate hd recieved FBIA field agent training during the days of old Republic Of Hurtful Thoughts.

They all made sure their entrenching tools were razor-sharp, donned complementry Griffencrest body armor (how thoughtful of them to look out for the delegates) and readied their CCZ-75 pistol carbines for a full scale assault, with lengthened barrels, shoulder stocks, and silencers, one would mistaken the pistols for tactical assault rifles... with 40 round clips of 9 x 19 mm (6.5 x 32 mm pistol ammo had not yet reached them, so no 60 round clips for me...)

They boarded the APCs, and sent the horse drawn wagons loaded with explosive ahead of them to the gates, in the front carriage was a lifelike dummy of a delegate driving the horses. While in reality, the horses merely were following their routine route to the gate, out of habit.

The IFVs followed a short distance behind, weapons at ready, and concealed inside the thick armored hide.

The Flagship for this operation would not be the standard Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier which was typically the Command Vehicle for any fleet. No, instead, the Wanderjarians decided that this time they would launch their own HMS Hood. It lead the fleet, its gargantuan form imposing to all who witnessed it.

Grand Admiral Reinhardt, who insisted upon joining this remarkable event, stood aboard the Command Bridge of the Hood.

"Battlegroup," He said over the Battlegroup intercomm, "We are about to do a good thing. I do believe that many lives shall be changed for the better for what we are about to do." Hundreds of thousands of Aviators, Sailors, Marines, Infantry, Armored Vehicle Crewman, everyone listened intently on the words. He continued after a pause, "Men, we are going to fight. We are going to win!"

"Good morning General"

"Good morning Captain"

"We seem to have signals coming in - a further seven hundred vessels are on their way with another quarter of a million troops. Even better, they have brought the cutters with them."

"That is certainly good news Captain, we better proceed to plan for our landing"

Like everything, General Smith was meticulous in planning landings. He also knew that this would be one of the biggest landings of an Imperial Force - ever. If he succeeded in his gamble, he knew that plenty of honour; statues, street names, school names, and perhaps even a peerage would come his way. If he failed, he would be cast off by the government like a hot potato.

-------------------------------
*twenty minutes later*

"Good morning gentlemen. Here are is a map of the Blackhelm Confederacy. We are presently located around here, two hundred and fifty miles Sou-West of Angel Bay. The Communists have control of a small area near there - apparently Griffencrest mercenaries went missing there about a week or two ago. Up the coast from there is Atlanta City, and quite frankly gentlemen, we haven't a clue on which side they are on. I propose that we land in between the city and the bay, and proceed to attack the Communist area - the airfield will certainly come in handy and we could have it prepped in 24 hours for B-52s to land instead of them having to fly from half a world away. We will also need to contact our potential friends - based on today's decodings, we can decifer that Drexel Hillsville and Leafanistan are against the Commies as much as we are. Perhaps a strategy talk or something like that will ensure that the Commies do not win by divide and conquer. Finally gentlemen, the day for landing is the day after tommorrow - D-Day."

The stage had been set

-------------------------------
*day after tommorrow

"Almighty God, help our troops as they invade the Blackhelm Confederacy. Defend them from the fire of their enemies and keep them safe. Almighty God, we also pray for the families of these brave men, help them to know that these troops were defending thy name and freedom by doing battle from those that might otherwise destroy it. In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost."

As soon as that had been said, the loudest Amen that had ever been heard was said. Operation Divine was set and ready to go as the cutters were lowered with men ready to attack the beaches.

The scene was significant. Some 435 bombers covered the skies, and the 965 fighters that were to escort them were being prepared on the decks of the aircraft carriers. Helicopters were going to be prepared as well - it was hoped that once the first beach had been secured that the helicopters would ferry further troops to the beaches and the wounded from the beaches, if there were any. General Winston Smith was going to be almost in the thick of the action himself - the APIV Helios was barely six miles offshore and was ready to pound any enemy that it encountered.

Inside the Radio Room, messages were being sent in various codes, mainly to fool the enemy as to what was going on. One important message was being sent to Drexel Hillsville and Leafanistan however.

To the Generals of Drexel Hillsville and Leafanistan

The Empire of Alexandrian Ptolemais is, like your nations, opposed to the Communists in the Blackhelm Confederacy. We wish to make it clear that we are willing to co-operate with the forces of your nation to ensure the defeat of the Communists. Our vessels are roughly twenty miles West-North-West of Angel Bay, which is apparently a Commie stronghold.

Signed

General Winston Smith

General Leonid was furious. The Sovistan troop convoy was hours behind schedule, after an unforseen complication at Ludik, where they had at the last moment been required wait the nation's sole aircraft carrier to meet the transports. He hadn't been informed of this, and had been hoping to join the Ezaltian fleet for protection. Now, however, they were forced to sail in the wake of the gargantuan allied fleet, at the mercy of any enemy battlegroups they might come across. At least they were nearing their destination now. Leonid, aboard the destroyer PRS Protector ordered a radio operator to send a message to the Wanderjarian fleet.

Wanderjarian-Ezaltian combined Fleet, this is the Sovistan troop convoy. We apologise for the delay, we've had an unexpected addition to our forces. We're travelling in your wake, will it be possible to lower your speed for a few hours to allow us to draw level with you?

General Blackhorse responded to the Soviet request for coordinates, and warned him that the Confederacy had unrivaled control of the skies, and flying in supplies would be incredibly unwise. The destination for the supplies should be somewhere around Angel Bay.

He then penned another letter to New Ausha. In it, he requested about one hundred Aushan officers to be sent over to help train his guerillas and make them into a formidable force.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Confederate Fleet moved in to join with the Griffincrest Naval Force, and together the massive armada moved in to engage the enemy fleets that had gathered off of their coastline. Hundreds of ships, ranging from massive dreadnoughts down to the tiny Um Al Maradim's all moved as one, each ship training their weapons on their enemy.

Aboard the flagship of the Confederate Fleet, a massive Archangel class super dreadnought, sat Admiral Marcus Greyhammer. He viewed the enemy fleets, and decided to strike Ezaltia's fleet first. The message was relayed to the GNF Admiral, Lucius Ironclaw, and was met with disgust. Ironclaw demanded that the Aushan 'traitor' fleet be engaged first. A heated arguement soon ensued, and Admiral Ironclaw was pissed. "To hell with your fleet, we'll do it ourselves" he shouted over the radio, before ordering his fleet to break away and engage the Aushan fleet. Admiral Greyhammer, knowing that by knocking out the Ezaltian fleet, which would be the easiest to do of all the fleets, would be a blow to the morale of the enemy, and pressed on his assault. And so the two massive fleets set off on their own courses...

Behind the fleets, on shore, massive 500mm railgun batteries were pummeling the enemy fleets from shore. The huge railgun shells would cause damage amongst the enemy fleet. If they didn't, the assortment of anti-shipping missiles that the Confederacy placed along the shore would. For now, however, they lay silent, waiting their turn to strike the foreigners.

The Communist guerillas anxiously awaited their foreign aid. Around twenty-five men stood around, all well armed, most with AK-47's, but a few with RPK's or MP-5's, smoking cigarettes and chatting. They seemed oblivous to the fact that they were rebels, and if they were not armed would not have given off the appearance of soldiers at all. Yet they were, and they were good at what they did. But now, they were not fighting, they were waiting. These foreigners would provide them with great things, or so they had hoped.

Force C, the battlegroup assembled from a Wanderjarian request, was floating sveral thousand miles from the battlezone and so would take a long time to arrive, but the power it wielded with a pair of Hood class super capitals and surrounding carriers, battleships, and cruisers, was more than enough to turn the tide of the battle.

General Leonid, after relaying a message thanking the Ezaltian fleet for its escort, began worrying about the size of the defences on the shoreline. He didn't want to send a third of the Sovistan military on a pointless landing that would shatter their confidence and morale, and much less actually engage in a naval battle with his incompetent "fleet".
"How many white star shells do we have?" He asked an aid.
"Uh, a few hundred on this vessel, sir. And a few thousand in store around the convoy."
Not many, but maybe enough, if they could get their transports close enough to the coastline. A few dozens WS shells might have an effect on the sentries, but first they'd have to find a weaker spot to try and breach.

"Good. Fire all ordinance at the enemy fleet! Show them the fury of the HMS Hood!" The other ships in the huge fleet began firing away as well with cruise missiles directed at shore battaries, and heavy guns on the enemy shipping.

Fifty Submarines soared beneath the carnage erupting above the waves, and they aimed to add to it from below. Arming their torpedo tubes, and running firing solutions through their targeting computers for maximum effect, they began to fire at all enemy ships.

-The B-52's dropped their payload, the bombs exploded at their designated altitude, causing magnificent flashes, generating enormous heat, successfully stopping the oncoming AA. The bomber formation pulled clear, as a second squadron moved quickly over the great flashes in the sky.

-The missiles were becoming a huge threat, most of them intercepted by on board patriots.

"Sir, they've arrived."

"Excellent, move us in too flank."

7th Fleet, Just Arrived, Approaching Drexel fleet-

Destroyers-

-Flanker Class (10)

-Sentry Class AA (20)

-Vanguard Class (15)

-Dragon Class (25)

Battleships-

-Montana Class (6)

-Orca Heavy Class (8)

-Lord Class Heavy (20)

-Chieftain Class (20)

-Iowa Class (15)

Carriers (6)

Submarines (50)

The 7th Fleet approached, seeing smoke rising from both fleets, as the radar went crazy from satellite relayed coordinates of the enemy.

-Jets flew off their carriers, under cover of the great heat flash over the Drexel fleet.

-B-1 Lancers, along with B-80 Wraiths and B-54 Night Falcons are approaching shore, too take another run at Griffencrest positions. They are heavily guarded.

-Helicopters flew off, flying low, too avoid AA, firing long range missiles, at surface skimming submarines.

-An expeditionary force of 20,000 Marines is unloaded, at the Communist Guerrilla position. They are under cover of spearhead B-52's, and low flying interceptors. 20 Tanks have landed, with more too come. Vehicles are slow too unload.

-AA screamed out of the turrets of the Sentry class destroyers, wildly following the enemy aircraft.

Casualties:

-14 Helicopters lost

-Destroyer Damaged

-2 Subs damaged

-Carrier holding stable now, en route too friendly port for repair

-5 Aircraft downed

-Battleship artillery sailed at the Drexel fleet as it had been, the guns were now more precise, many gaining deadly accurate lock ons.

You're in luck! I have yet another poorly done map! This one shows are defense rings. The First and Last rings are hundreds of AAD-1 anti air balloons. Line Two is when the SuF-8 Phoenix's and the MiG-31's come out. Line Three is dozens of Condor and Hyperion Airships with support, Line 4 is the MiG-29's and Su-30's. Bear in mind also that the city which you are closest to will also be sending out their own units as you come.

Ground defense is made up of 500mm Rail guns spread out one every 10 miles (Range is 550 km Ezaltia) and each one is defended by a Firestorm missile launcher. To protect against ARM's, Gazetchik (http://warfare.ru/?lang=&catid=251&linkid=2445) systems have been installed as well. Over two thousand HY-2 positions also litter the coast, and Griffincrest has invested heavily in the coastal defense of Redemption and Paradise City, putting in several S-400 missile launchers, 120mm ETC Kraven made Flak cannons, and 88mm Flak cannons. All along the coast, narrow lanes are set up by sinking old ships and barges. Once past them, concrete blocks are set up in a staggered formation to prevent armoured landing, and elevated wooden posts are in the water mounting .50 cal machine guns. Once the soldiers hit shore, they will have to bypass barbed wire, tank-traps, claymores, and ATG-44 Macabee designed anti-tank mines. Behind these will be the defensive trenches and machine gun nest, and behind these will be the Incinerateur 155mm rapid fire artillery, which would have been raining fire down on the enemy since they past the sunken ships.

IC: General Leonid gave the order, and the convoy began moving to the coast north of Divinity. If the Confederacy were shaken enough by the combined fleet, Leonid hoped their communication lines would be congested and slow to react, and their main airforce too wrapped up in the main battle to attack the transports.

"Order the men to board the armoured barges, and get them in the water once the enemy opens fire. And get our MiGs in the air, tell the to keep an eye out. Take the destroyers and freighters within range of the shoreline, and start shelling their structures with white star."
"Sir, are you sure this is wise?"
"Well, not exactly. But this is probably the best chance we'll get to land our men. Once they're on the ground, we can retreat out of danger."

Wow, that is light defenses...

"I said I did not want to be disturbed! For your sake, you better have good reason for this disruption." - Nero

"Forgive me, my Emperor, but it is an emergency. The Blackhelm Confederacy is under siege." - Servant

"Is that so? Gather the Council of Lords and my military advisors. Have them assembled in my court in one hour." - Nero

"As you wish, my Emperor" - Servant

------------

Once again, Emperor Nero sat on his thrown in contemplation. Various nobles stood at attention waiting for him to speak. The Emperor's word was law, and he had a number of decisions to render.

The Emperor spoke:

"The Corporate Alliance has been good to us. We will not see them conquered by a ragtag group of communists and hippies. There will be war. These invaders will be driven back into the sea. They will be exposed for the pathetic weaklings they really are.

Our first order of business is to hinder the advance of the approaching enemy fleets. We need to buy time for the Corporate Alliance to rally its forces. I want the 1st and 2nd Airlift Wings to begin airdropping mines in the paths of our enemies' fleets.

As for the rest of our forces, I want them mobilized at once. If we don't have boots on the ground in the Confederacy in 48 hours, there will be hell to pay.

Those are my desires. See to them immediately."

To: The Blackhelm Confederacy
Re: Air Strip Access

It is the desire of our beloved leader, Emperor Nero, that the Empire send forces to aid in the defense of your righteous nation. We will not idly sit by while our loyal allies are unjustly attacked by such a despicable group of nations.

To facilitate the movement of men and equipment, the Empire requests access to one or two of your air force bases.

It is also my duty to inform you that our wise leader has ordered a series of minefields be placed at sea in the paths of the oncoming enemy fleets. For your protection, the coordinates for those minefields have be attached to this letter.

With respect,
Chie Lo
Servant of the Emperor

OOC: I am using transport planes to create 3 mine fields at sea. The attacking fleets have thousands of miles to travel, so my planes will drop them way ahead of the fleets to reduce risk of detection or coming under attack.

1) A 200 mile long mine field that runs in a line perpendicular to the likely path of the fleets coming from Nova Europa. There are 400 mines total, so they are a half mile apart. Half the mines are Mk 60's (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/mk60.htm) encapsulated torpedoes. The other half are Hammerhead (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12002368&postcount=53) encapsulated torpedoes.
2) Same as the first, but placed in the path of Quester's fleet. All of the mines are Mk 60's (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/mk60.htm).
3) A 200 mile long mine field that runs parallel to the first mine field, but 100 miles beyond it. It consists of 200 Mk 60's (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/mk60.htm) (each a mile apart).

Destroyers from the initial fleet joined in, the deck guns hurling shells at the enemy, as cruise missiles continued launching.

IC: Three frigates and a pair of destroyers were sunk by the heavy railgun fire, but the battleships and dreadnought managed to get within range. The Dauntless battleships' own railguns opened fire, along with 16 and 30-inch FAE shells from the Overlord, Dauntlesses, and Agamemnons. The cruisers, destroyers, and frigates joined in as well, missiles streaking out against railguns and other emplacements.

The aircraft carriers hung back as the F/A-35s were launched. Each was armed with two Meteors, two Sidewinders, and three AGM-84G Land Harpoon missiles, a variant specially designed to strike ground targets rather than ships. They full wing of 24 Talons flew at 60,000 feet (out of range of the Firestorm launchers) towards the railgun emplacements, and prepared to unleash their deadly payload.

"The MiGs are up?"
"Yes, sir. Most of them."
"Good. Close the distance as fast as possible. Put everything on alert."

---

Out on the decks of the transports, the soldiers were board the armoured barges, all wearing their gas masks.
"What do you think they've got on the shore?" Asked one soldier to another, idly flicking his AK between burst fire and single-shot.
"Machineguns and bunkers, I don't know. It doesn't matter though, we've got white star. You can't shoot that."

The landings ten miles north of Angel Bay were going rather well for the troops of the Empire. In spite of all the sunken barges, ships and concrete blocks that lined the shore, the cutters were able to bypass them and head on their way to shore with the first 50,000 men. The troops landed and came across a beach full of barbed wire. To their right was what appeared to be an HY-2 position, probably abandoned - certainly there had been no action from it.

As the landings were occurring, the APIV Helios was sitting, six miles offshore and the bridge was a hive of activity as General Smith watched the landing with a couple of the officers.

"Sir, the landings are going rather well - maybe you will get that peerage."

"Captain, it is going a little too well. I have been in the army thirty-five years and I have never heard of an invasion that went this well. Alright, I grant that the bombers have been pounding the beach along with the fighters....although in saying that, there has not been much straffing; the beach is too quiet."

The soldiers had made it past the barbed wire, and knew that the plain was still too quiet.

"Son, pass me a grenade"

"Alright sir"

The soldier passed the grenade onto his commanding officer, and proceeded to throw it into the plain, where it proceeded to explode with a much larger bang

"Mines, dammit, I suspected as much, son, get me the radio, I have to warn the other divisions"

"All divisions, this is division Foxtrot, do you read. The flat plain ahead of you is filled with mines - I repeat filled with mines. Hold off, I repeat hold off."

"APIV Helios, this is division Foxtrot, do you read"

"Roger"

"There are a shit-load of mines up ahead; direct bombers to destroy. Also, suspend further landings."

"Roger"

Meanwhile, some of the soldiers were getting nervous, as they sensed movement someone in the HY-2 position. Something did not seem right, the beach had been awfully quiet, and all the activity could not have gone unnoticed by the Communists - maybe they had planned an ambush?

The Sovistan transport convoy was almost within range of the shore when the Railgun opened fire. Leonid, staring out at the shore saw the puff of smoke from the beach through his binoculars.
"Shit." He said, seconds before a round tore straight through the hull of one of the transports. The radio fizzed, before a voice came through.
"This is PRS T7, we've sustained heavy damage! Some water leakage, but our engineers are working on it. We should be able to continue, but we'll have to head back the second we drop off our cargo!"
Leonid gestured to the radio operator.
"Tell them to start lowering the barges. All armed ships, get in range of their defences and commence shelling!"

---

The transports, one of them now listing considerably, continued for another few kilometres bewore lowering the troop barges into the sea. They immediately made for the shore, and the destroyers and Freighters turned to begin shelling the defences. Two more railgun rounds crippled another transport and tore through a freighter, but the 6 combat ships were still able to open fire with shells containing the deadly gas White Star, a mixture of Phosgene and Chlorine. As the first shells began landing amongst the enemy trenches and machinegun nests, Leonid could see the white smoke curling up and spreading out.
"I thought the NEA had voted against the use of gas." Remarked an aide quietly.
"What they don't know doesn't hurt them." Growled Leonid.
"Well, at least we've got this far..." The man said, clearly trying not to think about the defenders, who would undoubtedly be put through great discomfort. He knew the effects of White Star on skin and eyes, as well as respiration.
"Too little defence. They'll have a lot more than this, mark my words." Leonid replied, as another railgun round devastated the same Freighter as before- it began listing dangerously, like the transport.

OOC: Fleets move as fast as their slowest ship. If you have ships like troop transports, your speed is going to be about 20 knots. I've seen the size and scale of the Nova Europa map. You guys have to travel thousands of miles to just get off your own map. I would think it would take 2 weeks minimum just for your fleets to close in on Blackhelm.

I posted that I wanted to put mines in your path about 4 1/2 real life hours after you and Ezaltia first said you wanted to send your fleets, but you guys had already arrived off Blackhelm's coast by then. I'm just saying you guys need to give people more time to respond to what you are doing. Personally, I would have used the weeks your fleets were in transit to place lots of mines in your path, move piles of troops to Blackhelm, and bomb your fleets over and over until I ran out of aircraft.

PS. Think we need an OOC thread.

The point is you wouldn't have know about the movement in time to mobilise against it like that. We posted the presence of our fleets, but by that point they were already closing on BC, not just leaving port in NE. When you entered the conflict, the fleets would have been a couple of days sailing away from BC. at most.

Yeah, we need an OOC thread.

"Why, if that ain't what I think it is."

The AWACs RIO grinned. A single blip on his RADAR, moving in a straight line. The plane banked downwards and accelerated towards its target. Quester's floating fortress doctrine meant that nothing went undetected thousands of miles out from the centre of the Force Flagship, be it under or above water or in the sky. RORSATs plagued the area searching for enemy ships but V 3-4 had picked up a cargo plane, which it positively identified as a mine layer. The plane made a turn to escape, but minesweepers were already moving up from the fleet and CAPs and AWACs actively patrolling.

Within several hours, at least X (insert number of planes, im not sure how many you deployed anyway) had been found and engaged with enough AAMs to finish them. Fast destroyers with minesweeper capabilities were moving up from the front of the formation to scan for any munitions laid while submarines dropped to their maximum depths and engaged active SONAR to scan for any super-deep water objects or enemies. They were, of course, covered by a full ASW blanket and other submarines running on passive, so as only to present themselves as a target, they would also act as a lure for any stupid, glory-hungry, or brave submarine commander.

Mark Gatsby, infamous for his ordeal after being downed over ground zero of a WMD outbrake, and managing to walk out alive, was in command of the very fleet he started his first overseas tour of duty on.
The Dunkirk was an odd ship, while he was marooned, the ship had been sunk, salvaged, and upgraded with powerful long range guns that took up the length of the hull, at the expense of its DP guns.
The Dunkirk, though now on its last legs of its service life, was still a very formidale bombardment ship.

The HTS Independance, another old horse of the Hurtian fleet, was following close behind, this ship would soon be replaced by the larger Roanoke, Hornet, and Enterprise CVMs, while day to day tasks would be handled by the similarilly sized Richards and Firebrand clas CVHs.

Times were a changing, and he knew his time had come.

"This is Thunder 5-12, enemy fleet in sight sir"

"Roger that 5-12, are they in range?"

"Not yet, I'm just making out the ships, definite radar signature"

"Engage when able to 5-12, maintain radio silence until then. Command out"

A trio of B-2 stealth bombers made their way towards the Ezaltian fleet. Flying at near their service ceiling, and maintaining absolute radio silence from now until after their assault run, it would be quite difficult for their enemies to know that they were there until after the bombs started falling. Each one was loaded up for maximum devastation, carrying forty thousand pounds of laser guided five hundred pound bombs. The targets were the capital ships of the Ezaltian fleet. If this attack was succesful, the fleet would be crippled.

In the jungle between Redemption and Paradise City, a fleet had gathered. This, however, was no normal fleet. It was not comprised of warships, or at least not the warships that come to mind when one thinks of a warship. Over two hundred boats varying in size from 200 foot luxury fishing boats to tiny motor boats. Each one was carrying the most weapons they were able to. Several catamarans were mounting torpedo tubes off of the side. Motor boats and Boston whaler type boats were carrying RPG-7's and RPG-29's. Even a few had mounted AT-14 Kornet's. The bigger ships were bristling with weapons. Jury rigged torpedo tubes rested in the water by all of them, their firing wires trailing up to the deck. Aboard these, dozens of Kornets were placed, along with AT-4 Spigots and MILAN missiles. These ships, of course, would not go for capital ships, but rather distract the smaller ships and aim for the bridges. They were the naval forces of the CAF.

-New Aushan Battleships are low on shells, re-supply vessels have been arriving.

-Tomahawk and Patriot, as well as cruise missiles reloading

-Soldiers on the ground meeting up with Communist Guerrillas. Expected about 300,000 Marines landed now.

The marines had a long fight ahead of them. All that was left was too make the link up, with the communists. They seemed obscure, so far undetected. The shores had been taken rather easily, with the exception of transport ships being pounded too hell by the coastal rail guns. The firestorm missile launchers, on the Aushan beach had taken awhile, but Deck guns had proved their worth, taking out many of them. The rail guns took a good many brave paratrooper- their passage safe from AA thanks too the navy, of planting hundreds of charges.

Of course, vehicles had yet too load. The breach in the Blackhelm defenses was narrow at the Aushan side, and it would take more than Marines and tired paratroopers too hold. Luckily submarines prowled close too the coastline, waiting for forward observers too relay coordinates for a cruise strike- a method that had proven effective against Griffencrest Bunkers.

Artillery would be another story. Blackhelm had yet too deeply this method, but the marines took no chances. What the engineers had for mines and building materials were taken, too make makeshift bunkers, pillboxes, sniper posts, anything.

As for the citizens, they were too be kept on close guard by the marines, purely confined too their homesteads.

Another 200,000 Marines is on their way. Paratroopers at the string of 40,000 Expected too come with materials too reinforce northern territory.

Tanks will be slow, but 160 will come in with the Marines in the next landing, along with some 1400 Vehicles, if all goes well. Supply ships are feverishly leaving New Ausha, and heading back. Long range missiles are trained on the areas outside of the marines captured beach length. High explosive and napalm filled are options.

Helicopters and low flying fighters have been flying sorties feverishly, and now with a lul in the fighting, did so with more confidence. An assault northward is expected sometime tomorrow afternoon.

OOC: Uh Blackhelm, where is my fleet on that map of yours? And where is my captured area? Thanks.
Emperor Nero
04-12-2006, 10:48
As Emperor Nero had ordered, men and equipment alike had been ferried to Sacrament Airbase around the clock ever since the hostile intent of the GASN alliance became known. Ironically, much of the equipment they were moving had been given to them by the Corporate Alliance and other benefactors for use defending the Empire.

General Ek Sereywath, Hero of the Empire, was the man in charge of the 1st Expeditionary Force. As a Colonel, Sereywath distinguished himself in a brief war with the feeble Icovirians. The tenacious defense his 4th Infantry Division mounted in defense of Bac Leiu was the stuff of legends. Two million Icovirian soldiers tried to make their landing on beaches west of Bac Leiu. All that stood in their way was the "Fighting" 4th Infantry. In the face of naval bombardment, air strikes, and overwhelming numbers; the 4th proudly stood their ground. Their mines, machine gunners, snipers, and artillery rained havoc on the hapless Icovirians, whose morale eventually broke. The great General himself suffered a grievous injury in that battle. The fact that he kept his wits about him, and delivered his men victory only added to his legend.

Today, General Ek Sereywath faced a far greater challenge. He was in unfamiliar territory far from home. He had a good number of planes at his disposal along with a fair number of what he classified as "fast attack" vehicles, but too few main battle tanks had been delivered thus far for his liking. He remembered a quote by a long forgotten foreign Secretary of War...

"You go to war with the army you have not the army you want."

The man who had said that had ultimately resigned in disgrace, but his words rang true nonetheless.

For what he had, the General was satisfied with his preparations. His own AA batteries, SU-37 combat air patrols, GPS jammers, SEPS systems, mine fields, and area denial systems gave his base some degree of protection. His defenses were set, it was time to take the offensive. With his aides gathered around him, he gave the following orders...

"Blackhelm seems to have his heart set on sinking the Ezaltian fleet. We're going to help him. Prepare the Gnats and Phantom II's for launch. Load the Gnats for air-to-air combat and the Phantom II's should carry mostly air-to-surface ordinance and a couple air-to-air missiles. When the time comes, I want us to be able to put those aircraft in the air in a hurry. General Bao, you are responsible for coordinating our stike with Blackhelm. Send him an encrypted message informing them that we have 250 Gnats and 250 Phantom II's prepared to launch a coordinated strike against the Ezaltians or any other fleet they wish to set their sights on. Urge them to hurry.

Our ground forces will be moving out at dawn tomorrow. Have your men ready. We'll be leaving behind the 6th and 7th Infantry Divisions and the 2nd AAA Brigade only. Their orders are to continue entrenching and defend this base against all comers."

OOC: Blackhelm, I place those Gnats and Phantom II's under your control if you want to use them in a joint attack on anyone's fleet.

Before the nation of Ackistan retreats into isolation and disappears into obscurity, we feel the need to repay our debts. When our nation was young and struggling just to survive, the Blackhelm Confederacy came to our defense on a number of occasions. In a world of thousands of nations, they were one of a handful of nations we could rely upon whenever we needed assistance. We have yet to repay that debt.

We have offered Blackhelm both money and equipment to aid in their defense. They are a proud people, and have not yet responded to our offers. We see you coming to their aid, and wish to help our old friends through you.

First, we wish to send you $500 billion USD from our relief fund to assist in the rebuilding your nation after the damage done to it in your recent war. We hope that money is put to use building schools not bombs *wink*.

We also wish to send you some military equipment and personnel if you wish to accept them.

Re: Military Equipment

Our beloved leader, Emperor Nero, accepts your contributions to our war effort. Your nation shows great wisdom is helping us to defeat these commies. The Emperor wishes to assure you that our commanders will treat your soldiers as if they were our own.

Our fleet is nearly ready to depart for the Blackhelm Confederacy. We request the ships you are sending rendezvous with us in safe waters along the way so that we may journey together.

With respect,
Chie Lo
Servant of the Emperor

----------

General Ek Sereywath was delighted by the news. The extra material and pilots was welcome indeed.

However, the large influx of unexpected friendly aircraft did complicate matters somewhat. Once all these Ackistani aircraft began to arrive, his runways we be tied up by landing planes. If his air strike was going to take place, it needed to happen now.

The General took a long puff on his pipe while contemplating his move. The Ezaltian and Sovistani fleets seemed like inviting targets. On the other hand, the New Aushan fleet was the greater threat, and their forces were already engaged. Sereywath made his decision.

"The Ezaltians naval fighter aircraft are returning to their carriers. Launch our Gnats and Phantom II's at once. Let’s see if we can catch them while their planes are being refueled and rearmed.

Once our attack is underway, I want our SU-37's launched as well along with a few tankers. I want them flying combat air patrol in force until the Ackistani planes are finished landing."

With that said, the Gnats and Phantom II's began to take to the air. Lined up on every runway on the base, the massive (by my standards) air strike was soon on its way.

The 240 Gnats, armed with AMRAAM missiles courtesy of the Corporate Alliance, approached the Ezaltian fleet at their service ceiling. Following them at a lower elevation, the 250 Phantom II's were armed with Sidewinders and Exocet anti-ship missiles. Enemy aircraft carriers were their primary targets while troop transports were also considered a priority. Of course, they would attack other ships if the opportunity presented itself. 100 miles behind the main formation the 10 remaining Gnats escorted a E-4 Nightwatch AWACS. They would strike fast and hard. As soon as they were in range of anything, they would fire.

OOC: New Ausha, so you know... B-52 Stratofortresses and B1B Lancers can't take off from aircraft carriers. Also, none of your fleet descriptions or naval battles metion any sort of troop transports in your fleet. Where'd those 300,000 marines come from?

Pudite Prefecture One, Administration Compound One, Office of Emperor Pudu XLII
The Emperor leaned forward, weight on his elbows as he scanned the front page of the dossier laying atop his otherwise clear oak desk. Standing before him in the simple room were Mr. White, his foreign affairs officer, as well as Mr. Grey, his foreign personnel officer. Each was standing, dressed as always in their respective colors, waiting for the response from their Emperor.

It came, "So... Blackhelm is being invaded... again."

The response came from Mr. White, hand folded behind his back, "Yes sir, more than half a dozen nations, some quite significant, are taking part in the fighting."

"I can see that, White..."

There was a short pause as the Emperor continued, "Wanderjar is sending troops, sir..." Was the response from Mr. White, "Should we not intervene?"

Mr. Grey spoke up, for the first time, "Sir, I remind you, the Questerian navy is present as well, would that be wise?"

The Emperor looked up from his desk, seeing his two advisors staring intently at one another, he spoke, "We've defended the Griiffincrest Corporation before, as well as the Confederacy, why not now?"

"Sir, before we were operating for separate reasons, I remind you of the result of that war... nothing. Intelligence was even rare... Do we want to devote this many resources to a pointless cause again?" Mr. Grey ignored the look from his compatriot.

Mr. White, having waited through Grey's argument, spoke up, "Does the Dominion really care so little about these people, these foreigners. These are soldiers who have fought alongside Pudite soldiers in battle, won victories for the Emperor beside his servants... Do we abandon them so easily?"

The answer came quickly from the Emperor, "Yes."

Mr. Grey finished the point of his lord, "Endeavors such as this will require a gain, nothing is to gain here..."

Mr. White stepped forward to the dossier, turning two pages forward, "Look here, sir, Wanderjar, the only major enemy of the Dominion, has sent a rather limited force into the area. We could rather easily turn them aside..."

The Emperor replied, "White, I remind you, Wanderjar and his communist puppets are not the only players here. Questers herself has deployed a pair of their Hood-class battleships..."

Mr. White spoke up, "Sir, I admit that the Questerian navy is a rather monumental task, but... Do you doubt our own?" White smiled inside himself, having found a hole in the doctrine of his very leader...

Mr. White continued quickly, "Wanderjar has left themselves almost unbelievably vulnerable! There are thirty-eight capital ships, forty-five cruisers, and thirty-odd escorts, how is it we turn down such an obvious opportunity!"

The Emperor looked slowly up from his desk, looking first at Grey, "Officer, it is certain that we should not intervene here. Nothing to gain, as well as a trio of Hood-class ships to our single example. War will not be made against the United Kingdom."

The forty-second Emperor of his dynasty turned then his head to Mr. White, standing confidently before his very desk... Pressing a silent button beneath the massive dark shape of his ancient desk, he spoke. "You are dismissed, officers..."

As Mr. Grey, the closer, turned to open the door, he found it swing aside without his hand, and standing beyond it was the great golden-armored form of the Emperor's personal guard. The three-meter tall warrior-fanatic soldier of the Custodiae Custodie Imperator...

Sliding past the minuscule foreign personnel officer, the pair of them immediately set upon Mr. White, taking up an arm each, the former foreign affairs officer was removed from the room.

"We'll need a new foreign affairs officer, Grey. This one was getting a little to clever... See to that."

The Avatar's (the dreadnought) radar picked up the gigantic Neroian fighter wing as it took off. 80 F/A-35s were quickly launched as the Avatar radioed a warning to the carriers. Each launched its entire complement of Talons to intercept the Neroians. In total, 200 Talons were launched from the carriers, along with 80 from the Avatar, coming in from behind. Each Talon was armed with 8 Meteors (which have a range of 100 km compared to the AMRAAM's sixty or so) and 4 Sidewinders.

OOC: Sorry for taking a while to respond

The Aushan attack hit hard. Several ships sunk beneath the surface of the water, taking with them the lives of thousands of sailors. "Call our fighters back!" The Admiral yelled, "And get any we have left in the air!"

The was no understandable response in the control room. Voices were yelling out what the vaious other ships in the fleet had called in. Anti-air came online opening fire upon the hostile aircraft that passed over head. Fighters that had managed to get off the flight deck engaged the airborne foes.

Battleships returned fire upon the Aushan fleet. Submarines headed towards the enemy from beneath them. The Superdreadnaughts also opened fire, raining metal upon their foes. Hundreds of cruise missles were launched from numerous ships. The Grand fleet of the Hills would never sink into the sea.

"Roger. Fire at will."

Each of the twenty-four Talons fired all of their Harpoon-Gs (72 missiles total), aimed at the railguns and the surrounding emplacments. They then pulled back, gaining attitude and engaging their Pulse Detonation Wave Engines, accelerating to nearly Mach 5 as they returned to the fleet.

The Firestorm missile launchers detected the launch and opened up, spamming the sky with dozens of missiles. Still, a number of enemy missiles got through, destroying one battery and heavily damaging a second. Now that the enemy was in range however, they would have many more problems. Roughly two hundred HY-2 launchers were placed along the shore in this area, and each one began to lock onto the various enemy ships nearing shore. Then, in one thunderous blast, the massive missile screamed forward toward the unfortunate Ezaltian fleet. The huge warhead on these missiles were easily capable of destroying the smaller ships and crippling the larger ones. The Ezaltians would pay dearly for their bold incursion upon Confederate territory.

If that was not bad enough, things were about to get worse.

"Thunder 5-12 opening bombay"

"Thunder 6-10 opening bombay"

"Thunder 7-11 opening bombay"

The Ezaltian fleet would soon be laying on the bottom of the sea as one hundred and twenty thousand pounds of laser guided munitions felll upon the fleet. The larger capital ship, the Overlord class dreadnought, was the primary target, but other ships were targeted as well.

With the combined rail gun, HY-2, and laser guided bomb barrage focused on their fleet, this should turn out to be a very bad day for Ezaltia.

Once they reached the Rebel encampment, the Soviets cracked open the crates, revealing literally hundreds of weapons and thousands of rounds, which they gave to the CWP. The Firestorm missile launchers on the Avatar opened up on the HY-2s, filling the air with streaks of smoke. A few missiles managed to get through, sinking an Agamemnon, two destroyers, and two frigates.

The Firestorms then turned to their ACCMGs, a anti-missile gun that, in theory, could work on bombs also. Thousands upon thousands of rounds filled the sky, and although many of the bombs were destroyed, a few did get through, mostly aimed at the Avatar. The thick Triad armor protected against the brunt of the attack, although dozens of crewmen were killed. An additional three frigates and a destroyer were blown to pieces by the bombs, but not before they fired their own missiles at the B-2s.

Admiral Sean Nelson sighed as the IES Stepell, a destroyer, was incinerated by the mass of falling bombs. "We have to get out of range. Mr. Lorry, turn to vector 180. We need to assist the carriers against the Neroians."

The Chancellor soon realised that he had just hired men from Wanderjar, an enemy to Griffincrest and now to the Confederacy. Immediatly, he called for all militias, police, and military units to assault the men. The mercenaries would soon find themselves trapped in a city in which the majority of the population saw them as enemies.

The Wanderjarian mercenary camp was soon to be reduced to ash as well. The 2nd Air Fleet was moving into place near the base, and roughly four dozen Tu-22's prepared to unload their payload onto the men. The Hyperions and Condors also readied for bombardment, preparing their 105mm Howitzers and their vast array of bombs and sir to ground missiles.

Also heading to crush the camp was a massed militia of the CFS (Confederate Farmers Society). They sped towards the fort, screaming that the traitors would not be tolerated. Many brandishing RPG-2's and 7's, most with a large assortment of rifles, each man was a skilled marksman, capable of killing a man from several hundred yards with a headshot.

In Paradise City, the PCPD SWAT teams were first to arrive on scene, blocking off roads with their trucks and occupying nearby buildings with sharpshooters. The road in front of the enemy mercenaries were now flooded with the blue and black uniforms of the SWAT team. A helicopter flew above the mercenary column. "Surrender. You are surrounded. Give up and you will not be harmed"

The military now began moving to assist the SWAT team as well. The 331st Confederate Light Infantry Division began moving into the western part of Paradise City, ready to engage their enemy and ordered to leave no survivors if the enemy refuses to surrender to the PCPD. Several KA-52'a flew into the city as well, to provide support to the men on the ground.

IC:The troops waited for a couple of hours, tensely clutching onto their guns. That was until some stupid soldier decided to fire his weapon, and out of the HY-2 position, a dog came out.

"Shit; a bloody dog scared us all. Well men, we better capture that position and try to get into the jungle to do battle with the Communists."

More troops landed on the beaches and by nightfall, the camp was filled with 600,000 men, not that none of them were actually enjoying the stars; no, they were busily forming an airfield and a very basic dock. The cutters that they had landed in could easily form a dock until something more permanent could be established. By dinner time, transport planes from the Empire had landed on the airfield and the vehicles that the troops of the Empire were going to rely on were ready. Certainly, there would be some risk, no doubt not all the mines had been cleared by the B-2s and B-52s that had been bombing the place the whole day. The HY-2 position was also creatively used, some of the technicians within the forces had rigged up a basic radio station and were already sending signals. It was even hoped that telephone cables on a road about two miles ahead could be rigged, perhaps an immediate connection with the Empire could be established.

The night settled down; it was unusual that no Commies had been seen, the jungle in this area was supposed to be festering with them. Perhaps they had let them land, get comfortable before striking. The Empire now nervously held onto a strip of land ten miles by twenty.

See Ausha, its posts like that that I tend to ignore you. You not only just entirely skipped my fleet and some how teleported past Drexel and Leafs fleets, but then also claimed that I have no soldiers along the coast. Please RP the naval battle and landing properly.

OOC: It is there good sir, where I develop grievances of my own. For skipping the Drex and Leaf fleets, I was aware I was there before them, or at least my spearhead fleet. I believe my allies can confirm this, as I reported about 8 pages back, the arrival of ships, and the shelling of the coast line. Also im sure theyll be happy too back me up, on the fact that your navy is preoccupied with the allied forces before me. Strecthing out further too stop a large, well preped fleet was unsensible, thus not possible. After 3 days, hundreds of missiles, thousands of shells, and a relief fleet just showing up, I believed I was more than equipped too stave off the enemy attack. As I RPed I took a tiny tiny beach, with casualties, and it took me 2 RL days. I believe Ive earned a tiny beached, and my fleets survival sir. BTW sorry for a bullet post, but the homework Ive just finished has sapped 1/3 of my life force....must....sleep.

IC:

-Drexel Subs spotted, low flying torpedo armed jets on their way

-Helicopters aiding new arriving troops, taking quick runs into enemy territory

-Tanks landed, 160. Vehicles still unloading. The NA beach is quiet, as 60,000 more marines are finishing up landing.

-Naval supply lines made, from NA too beachead. Long rang continental NA missiles aimed at Drexel battleships, and are being deployed.

-Battleships taking shell damage, but now, re-armed, are fighting back fiercely.

-The 7th relief fleet is approaching behind Drexel attack radius, with advance subs striking, cruisers and destroyers flanking the advancing enemy. Cruise and Tomahawk missiles continue too rain down on Drex. The 7th fleet is also aiming too stave of Leafenstan. A fair share of AA and Bomber runs are directed toward their fleet.

-High flying bombers are combing nearby beaches, with carpet bombs on suspected targets.

-Food ships under heavy submarine and battleship cover. Jet patrols along various supply line taking effect.

-Paratroop drops, under cover of sub deployed missiles and deck guns, landing with supplies, taking advance positions. Beached roads now littered with electronic activated mines, make shift bunkers, MG nests, etc.

-Artillery being sent too beachead, 1000 pieces being prepared for shipping.

-Merchant Marine out in full force.

-19th Fleet prepping at Fennewick Island, NA. This consists of 17 Destroyers, 20 Battleships, 4 Carriers, 400 fighters, 300 Helicopters, 190 Bombers, 38 Submarines, 17 Cruisers. They are being mobilized too protect supply lines, and will be one patrol starting tomorrow morning. They will contribute many engineer ships as well, and an additional 150,00 marines, too the some 300,000 Paratroopers and marines on the NA beach.

-AA Cruisers taking measures against fighters and bombers of the Leaf navy.

-3 More fleets being prepped, along with the possible activation of a reserve fleet.

OOC: in case you didnt catch that, you've got 200 talons coming from the front, and 80 from the rear.

OOC: Is your dreadnought closer to shore than the other carriers? If so, that would be the first thing I would attack.

Force C
HMS St.Vincent

The St Vincent and the Fairham, the two capital ships of Force C, advanced ponderously onto thefield of battle, tossing aside waves like mere droplets of water. At their maximum speed, the capital group with all the battleships of Force C, assembled as the 345th Battle Division, was surrounded by various cruisers and destroyers and ready to do battle.

"Admiral Agnew?" A lieutenant snapped to alert.

"Aye?"

"Sir, long ranged RADAR scouts has bracketed the enemy fleet. We will be coming into judgable range soon." As the Lieutenant was speaking the heavy RADAR UAVs were soaring either barely above sea level or high in the sky, bracketing the battle zone and sending back all information they could gather to be processed.

"Excellent." Agnew nodded, finishing his tea. He licked his lips momentarily, then leaned forwards into the microphone. "This is Admiral Agnew speaking. All men to battle stations, this is not a drill, repeat, this is not a drill. We will be entering action shortly. Good luck."

...

As soon as the battlegroup arrived in the theatre, Agnew established his 1st objective: destroy the Drexel Hillsville fleet. He was out of gun range, but it didn't matter, doctrine dictated using long range heavy surface-surface missiles, backed up with tactical anti-shipping missiles from light bombers. The popup O.41 launchers on the cruisers of the 1st 2nd and 3rd cruise divisions activated, opening up and spinning towards their directed vectors. Moments afterward in a crescendo of smoke and sound, the ships began firing; one at first, then two, then four, then ten - until all their heavy missiles were expended. Capable of disabling a Nimitz in two-three hits, the O.41 was a giant reprogammable missile. In this fairly short ranged case, it would launch, raise to 200 metres, activate its cold gas boosters and shoot down onto the decks of the aircraft carriers at Mach 4.

Over three hundred of these missiles were launched at the CVN-68 class carriers in the Drexel fleet.

Moments afterwards, the Zuikaku and Shokaku began shooting off their planes, within minutes bringing a total of 120 Sparrowhawks in the air; within ten minutes there were double that, and counting the CAPs from other carriers there were now some 400 aircraft covering the fleet and the tactical bombers about to make their first assault run.

The tactical bombers only launchable from the giant decks of the two supercarriers of Zuikaku and Shokaku held 2 of the "Shepherd" Rosdivan anti shipping missiles, capable of knocking out a cruiser in 2 hits. Clearly this was their aim as the sixty aircraft moved barely out of CAP and SAM umbrella coverage and launched 120 of these such missiles at the Drexel fleet's Ticonderogas.

The second wave consisted of 320 fighter bombers from the assembled Ocean class carriers. They accelerated at almost sea level towards the Drexel fleet, and at half the maximum range of the missile they would launch a single "Shepherd" at the Drexel destroyers.

The third assault was yet another missile attack from the Praetonian made Lance ASMs onboard St.Vincent. She reeled off her anti shipping VL missiles, firing one after another, with acompanyment from some decoy missiles from the destroyers, all aimed at totally finishing the Drexel escorts.

The fourth consisted of another O.41 launch from the SSGNs underneath the fleet. A hundred of these underwater missiles were launched from the humps on these magnificent boats sitting protected underneath the Questarian battleline. Taking careful aim, the missiles engaged in the anti shipping course and mantained a height of 50 metres and their speed of mach 4. At their target, they would dive and crash into the belt of any remaining destroyers.
...

By the end of the attack the Questarian ships were moving into gun range and the against the Drexel fleet, mantaining their battle line, with the carriers some distance behind the battleships but still well escorted. The first shots were fired from St.Vincent, her 30 81cm guns sounding off, but wildly inaccurate; in the battlefleet there was a total of 252 of these guns, the result of standardised calibre. With the battle line established the Questarian ships began to engage at maximum range, targeting the superdreadnoughts and carriers, while moving in at a diagonal, still keeping their full firepower focus.

HTS Dunkirk: Bridge

HTS Kursk:
Admirral Paul Vandergrift looked upon the massive fleet, never had so many boats, the pride of the Hurtian Navy, been assembled and led by such a capable crew, he looked upon the new Firebrand, Hiragi, Sniper, and Richards class boat with relief, that finally, PROHT had a navy capable of invading any nation if they so chose. And this operation would prove once and for all to the skeptics, that all Hurtians, whether by land, air or sea, are a force to be reckoned with.

HTS Verdun
Admirral Kovaks sat upon the railing, looking up at the sky, then at the sea, the glistening hulls of many Tango class Submarines, except for one, with was rather muddy coloured, and looked imploded and crimped on itself, that twas the SSA-Yahoo, a specialist submarine he had only heard stories about, let alone seen it, but just by looking at it, he knew it was different, and it was under the fleet command of another person he had never met, yet heard many stories about, his name was Mark Gatsby, an excellent pilot, and an equally skilled naval officer and tactician. His skill in almost any battle was unmatched, be it on land, air or sea.

And now they had the tools and oprotunity to prove themselves.

The world was watching.

I'm pretty sure you can at least SEE my fleet at 600 miles (on RADAR/Satalite imagery of course)

With the influx of airlift planes, the movement of troops and supplies from the Empire picked up its pace. General Ek Sereywath was pleased. He still awaited the results of his air strike on the Ezaltian fleet, but he was prepared to commit his ground troops.

On his orders, the 12th Infantry Division and 3rd Engineers Brigade would move to nearby Sacrament City. They were to maintain order, supplement existing AA defenses, and begin construction of earthworks and trenches should the city ever come under attack.

The Hero of Bac Leiu then ordered a much larger force to move towards the capital, Paradise City. Their orders were a bit more complex. Two divisions and an engineering brigade would move into the city itself, and make preparations to defend that city. Four divisions and another engineering brigade would entrench along the coastline north of the city. Finally, the 6th
engineering brigade would go to work constructing an air field 150 miles east of the city.

After explaining his plans in detail, he aides and underlings went to work executing his orders. In short order, large convoys of vehicles were underway while transport helicopters scurried about moving men and equipment towards the front.

Wanderjar
05-12-2006, 19:24

IC:

The enemy Police forces never had a chance.

As the Wanderjarian Armored Columns rolled through Paradise City, cutting down all enemy fighters who were foolish enough to oppose the Armored Fist of New Prussia, they made careful sure to protect the Infantry moving behind. Their WIWS equipment allowed them to see through the walls of the buildings, identifying all threats around them and giving them perfect three hundred sixty degree security completely around the mass units moving down each street. RPG-7s streaked into the Behemoth IIs thundering through the roads, but merely bounced off the incredibly hard armor as though they were but nothing.

Though the enemy had killed the Artillery positions back at the base, before they died they had been able to fire off four volleys of rounds each, close to fifty EXCALIBUR rounds in all.

These EXCALIBUR rounds were GPS guided, and would always hit within seven feet of the intended target without fail. Thus, when the enemy troops began moving towards Paradise City to reinforce the crumbling Garrison, these were deployed against them.

General Zacharias rolled in the rear with the Command Bradley. Though he resented not being able to duke it out on the ground anymore, he realized that his was the most important decision on the ground.

"Alright, this is our objective," He spoke over the Army's speaker systems, which relayed to every soldier in the Corps, "We heading towards the Capital Building. Seize it, and hold it. After that, we'll set up a perimeter in the area, and destroy any enemy resistance, and repel any attackers until help arrives. Thats our plan. Out." He was sure this would work. As of then, nothing the enemy had been able to throw at them had been any threat....

Dawn arrived for the troops of the Empire and General Smith made his way to shore.

"Men, today you will be fighting for the Empire and most importantly for freedom; freedom from Communists and therefore freedom to live one's life without having to be thrown into camps, or being worked to starvation by a mad-house party mechanism."

With that, a large number of troops moved south. According to all reports, the Communists were hiding there, however, given all the chaos that had been occurring in the Blackhelm Confederacy, they could have just as easily disappeared. Soon beach turned into jungle, as the troops marched south, and one by one, the vehicles that had been transported from the Empire were proving unable to make it past the dense jungle. They were to turn around and move back to the beach. The troops were to push forward though, and they knew that if battle was to occur, there would be the advantage of helicopter gunships that were merely waiting for the order to move out. Once this group were gone, then probably a large chunk of Griffincrest territory would be able to be restored, of course defended by the troops of the Empire. The going had been easy so far, and evidently, something was wrong.

CWP Camp

"Sir, I think one of the mines just went off"

"Thanks Corporal, I noticed"

Captain Marcos had ordered his men and some rebels to plant mines earlier that day, apparently, it had been a good idea, as the enemy was advancing.

"Ok men, gather up, this is the moment, the enemies of the CWP are approaching, we've armed this movement, supplied this movement, hell, I even think we feed this movement. And now, its time to defend it, are you with me?!"

The crowd of rebels and Soviet Marines cheered their leader and ran to their positions, already, a scouting party had been sent to harass the Ptolemaians on their way here.

Somewhere in the jungle

"I think I spotted one of them"

"Shush and get down you moron, I saw them too"

"Think we can... bother them a bit?"

"Yes, now shut up and follow me"

The two snipers made their way towards the hills, moving along with their enemy's column, once they were at a safe distance, they set their rifles and waited.

OOC: Can you wait till BC tells me how many rebels does this camp have? Just to better plan the defense.

The land mine was the signal for the guerillas hiding out in the forest. Several dozen 82mm mortar shells flew from their tubes, headed towards the Alexandrian forces. As these shells began to flew, several dozen guerillas emerged from the thick brush, opening up with a withering amount of gunfire from RPK's and AK-47's. Dragunov sniper rifles opened up as well, laying into the foreigners from their users treetop posts.

Railguns began to train themselves on the PROHT fleet. Five railguns in all waited for the enemy fleet to get into range, and when they did, the guns opened up with a thunderous roar, sending massive shells screaming into enemy vessels. Yet again, a group of B-2's were sent up, this time there were nine, three groups of three. Once again, their detection would be very difficult, as they were flying at their service ceiling and maintaining radio silence. Each one was once again loaded full with forty thousand pounds of laser guided five hundred pound bombs. Each bomb was meant to land amongst the bombardment ships of the PROHT fleet. Both General Blueshield and Admiral Greyhammer agreed that it was these ships, above the rest, that posed the biggest problem to the Confederate coastal defenses. Hopefully, the explosion caused by all of the missiles aboard the ships would be powerful enough to damage surrounding ships as well, an added bonus for the Confederate High Command.

Uh, you know that dropping a 500 lb bomb from 50,000 feet will have no accuracy whatsoever, especially from a strategic bomber. Generally, strategic bombers are big no-nos for attacking ships, apart from Tu95 which isn't really a strategic bomber. Well, it is, but the Tu142 variatn is for anti shipping anyway.
Beiraq
05-12-2006, 23:21
President Achmed Chalabi approached the terrace from which he was prepared to give his speech. Before him stood hundreds, perhaps thousands, of loyal Beiraqi's, all waiting to hear him speak about the war that was enveloping his ally. Sweat beaded up on his forehead, perhaps from the stress or perhaps merely just from the hot desert sun overhead, it was not known. He finally stepped up to the podium, and cleared his throat.

My fellow Beiraqis.

There are those who, on being told: "Your enemy has mustered a great force against you and so fear them," that grew more tenacious in their faith and replied by saying "Allah's help is all sufficient for us. He is the best Protector". In saying this they earned Allah's grace and bounty and no harm befell them. For they had striven to please Allah, whose, bounty is infinite. It is Satan that prompts men to fear his followers. But have no fear of them. Fear Me, if you are true believers. Do not grieve for those that quickly renounce their faith. They will not harm Allah in the least. He seeks to give them no share in the hereafter. Their punishment shall be terrible indeed.

God speaks the truth

Great people in Beiraq, the land of faith, Jihad, bravery and glory..

Brave members of the gallant armed forces..

Sons of our glorious Arab nation..

Today, we once again raise arms against the dogs of the GASN and the Communist world. We will not allow them to believe that we are less then them by any means, for although they may be larger in size, we are larger in spirit. We will destroy the dogs of Wanderjar and the People's Republic of Hurtful Thoughts, and any others who dare to stand in the way of Allah!

Hence, with the flying banner, raise high your swords and rifles, oh our dear people, and remind anyone who may still be under a delusion, that the enemy is made up of cowards, men who will rather fight from a distance, using cannons and missiles rather than with knife and rifle. My people, their so called "technology" will protect them no longer. Look out to the ports in Kuwait. We have there a new Aristaqis class dreadnought, along with a fleet of Kritik class battleships. With these new vessels, we have born an entirely new doctrine of fighting. And with the new doctrine, a strong flag-post and hand has been born bearing our pride and our guidance to faith: Allahu Akbar, to stand firm in the face of every violent wind, God willing, or evil attempt.

Yes, Allahu Akbar....

Allahu Akbar....

As President Chalabi spoke, the Beiraqi fleet began to pull out of port. The fleet, although small, had tremendous power. Ten Kristik battleships and an Aristaqis class dreadnought made a formidable group. They had already picked their targets, and steamed off for Blackhelm waters.

Krishna flight dove for the deck, leveling out at the same altitude as the Phantoms. Each plane released 4 of its Meteors before closing its weapons bays and turning around, flying back towards the carriers.

Arjuna flight did the same, albiet at a higher altitude, releasing their missiles and turning around before the Gnats got within AMRAAM range.

Vishnu flight rocketed towards the lonely Nightwatch. Each plane released a solitary Meteor.

All in all, 400 advanced missiles were flying towards the Gnats, 400 towards the Phantoms, and 80 towards the AWACS and escorts.

OOC:BLackhelm, why does your ship have a bigger gun than the shore emplacements?
Undershi

Undershi Navy Squadron 42B set sail for The Blackhelm Confederacy with little ceremony. The thirteen ships that made up that squadron did, after all, include four ships that Undershi Navy Command was not very proud to still posses. For years, Undershi naval doctrine had stressed air power over all else. The result? No new battleships were built, and many of the battleships they had had were decommissioned in favor of more carriers.
In the end, only four aging battleships had remained. Now, all four of those ships sailed out of Port Industry with their destroyer escorts for the first time since they had taken part in the Denial of Hataria during the Second Short War.
Four aging battleships, eight brand new destroyers and a single small, light, troopship carrying five hundred Undershi Marines. Of course, the battleships had all been refited recently, but still... it was simultaneously a show of force and a chance to dispose of four embarrassing relics. Ironic.
Fleet Captain Tyler O'Neil couldn't help but feel bitter as he watched the other ships of his squadron sail out of the harbor from the Command Bridge of the battleship Aleksander Miller, the ship that bore the name of the Leader of the Undershi Empire. He smilled as he watched them sail out. When he watched from the right frame of mind, he could imagine it was back in the 1940's, when he had been a Lieutenant in the last major battleship-vs-battleship clash in the history of the Undershi fleet to the present day. They had done well - their one overgunned Citadel class battleship, with its pair of 30 inch guns and its six pairs of 16 inch guns... and of course, like the one he had commanded, its batteries of four inch guns along the side, to disscourage enemy torpedo boats.
He found it ironic that he was commanding something that was effectively a more modern, up-gunned, version of that same ship. Sure, now it had rail guns and the old flak guns had been replaced with SAM launchers, and there was an ECM program... but the basic idea was the same. Lots of guns on a slow, heavily armoured, platform. No missiles... no wonder the airpower admirals hated these battleships.
He loved them. That was why he had ended up commanding them. That, and the fact that he himself was a relic, a norm kept around only because of the glory he had achieved... he thought for a moment about his mutant children and grandchildren. True Undershis. Hah! He had seen the lie of that... had seen all the lies.
He was kept around though, even allowed to command True Undershis on expeditions like this one... although almost ninety percent of the crew of the battleships was made up of Janissaries, he'd read. It seemed no one who could avoid it wanted to serve under a norm. He chuckled - and yet, how they had praised him for the glory he had achieved, leading an improvised boarding party onto a burning enemy battleship, taking the crew prisoner and forcing them to save what had seemed a sinking ship... he grimaced as he remembered forcing a resistant crew man who had wanted to abandon the ship into a burning room and sealing him in. The things he had done for Undershi...
Now Undershi demanded one last act of service from him. He would do what they wanted, command a small squadron into battle, and then he would retire. He was old, tired and miserable. This would be his last command.

I honestly was wondering that myself. I didnt make either thing however, the Archangel is built by HailandKill, and the railguns are bought from DMG

I am aiming for the ships most likely to make a big boom, and I did say that the bombs were guided.

Now that the Ezaltian fleet was damaged, they would feel the power of the Confederate Air Force. One hundred and twenty five Su-30 fighter bombers blasted towards the retreating dreadnought. The Ezaltian fighters would now either have to break from the Neroian ones, leaving their fleet vulnerable to their assault, or continue to attack the Neroian fighters and leave the Confederate planes to assault the damaged Avatar. Each jet carried on it six RVV-AE (AA-12) missiles, two Kh-59 anti-shipping missiles, and four Kh-31P/Kh-31A anti-radar missiles. The were quite well equipped to handle not just the enemy fleet, but also whatever fighters they could send out.

OOC: Ah, but remember that the Overlord-class dreadnought has eight catapults total, and a hundred planes left.

IC: The battleships, dreadnought open fire with their main guns, railguns, and coilguns, pounding the Confederate fleet as the smaller ships launched anti-shipping missiles. The Avatar began launching its complement of Su-47s and MiG-1.44s, for a total of fifty of each. They were still outnumbered by the Blackhelm fighters, but their Ezaltian planes were of better quality. The MiGs carried six Meteors, four Harpoons, and two Sidewinders, while the Berkuts carried eight Meteors, four Sidewinders, and two Harpoons. Each fighter launched four of its Meteors as they took off, so in total, four hundred missiles were cruising towards the one hundred and twenty-five Blackhelm fighters, with superior range and speed.

OOC:
Oh.... Kay....... I'm not that far along... yet, but I'll take it in consideration When I get there.
I'll see what I can do with those bombers, as I know those are within range.

And how fare the delegates in PCPD cutody/escort?

Hurtian Fleet 243:
The fleet lazed around at 600 miles from shore, awaiting news of the Hurtian delegates, at this time, no hostilities had yet been declared between Blackhelm Confederacy or The People's Republic Of Hurtful Thoughts, but still, they kept themeslves alert, mostly because the alternitive was to risk being caught falling at their posts.

The submarines ran diving practice drills, whic also would hinder any chance of an accurate count of their submarines, and passive Sonar patrols along the picket line, while the surface fleet ran practice manuvers, zigzags and circles at cruising speed to conserve fuel, and left room for greater or less acceleration in their turns.

The only surface ships that operated in exception to this were the aircraft carriers, which ran upwind/downwind oval loops to better handle aircraft operations, and the three aging auxillary cruisers, namely the HTS dunkirk, which had her twin 18" long railguns, which ran almost the entire length of the former barbour class hull, these were firmly pointed towards shore, guns at ready. The other two simply circled around the entire fleet, as if they were officers watching recruits during physical training excersises.

HTS Dunkirk:
Mark Gatsby asked something entirely strange, and it involved reversing the flight profile of the Hurtian F/SC-T Mk. II torpedoes, ratther than flying through air and diving down into water at the last second, these would do the exact opposite, by running below the surface and then firing into the air. It was then suggested by a subordinate to use a quieter and longer ranged conventional torpedo and mount a torpedo launched Harpoon on a makeshift piggyback mount, as range would be drasticly improved.

Those not needed for duty watching the sea and skies with sensors and eyes or maintaining the various equipment went about manhandling these contraptions below the barrel of the main guns, then they carted them out to the sides of the hull, and started whinching them into the water.

It was then that they noticed one of theships had opened fire upon something, followed by enormous explosions, And the sight of B-2 Bombers flying overhead.

"General Quarters! Look alive! General Quarters! <BOOM> Man that 35 mil! Move! All men man your battle stations! <poompoompoompoom...> Fire all modified torpedoes upon Redemption. This is not a drill! DO IT! <Hurtian fighter plane passes overhead> I repeat, this is not a drill..."

OOC: Also remember you two 30 inch guns are knocked out.

Hundreds of countermeasures burst out into the air, sending the majority of the enemy missiles off in different directions, some veering off, others crashing into the sea, and others merely exploding in mid air. A number, however, still got through the rank, killing off roughly seventy of the original number. The men however would not be downed without first firing off thier own ordnance. Every plane emptied their armament, and was then ordered back to base. Before the Ezaltians knew what hit them, seven hundred and twenty AA-12 missiles were screaming through the air for them.

At the same time that the air to air missiles were launched, the planes also luaunched all of their anti-radar and anti-shipping missiles. The two hundred and forty Kh-59 TV guided anti-shipping missiles carried a massive warhead of three hundred and twenty kilograms. They were more than capable of smashing the Avatar. Sixty of the missiles were aimed for the engines of the beast of a vessel, while another hundred flew for the ships bridge. The remaining eighty were ordered to target the guns still operable aboard the beast.

The four hundred and eighty Kh-31/P anti-radiation missiles had a different task. They split into two groups, two hundred and forty of them going to smash the radar on the dreadnought, and the remaining two hundred and forty going to shut down the rest of the Ezaltian fleet.

After the last attack, the fleets ability to intercept missiles should be damaged significantly. With any luck, the missiles should have their effect.

Hubert Pinkerton, Minister of Foriegn affairs and acting Minister of Defense ever since Maj. Major went back into active duty in the newly formed Hurtian Navy. Gave a short reply by phone.

"It appears as if reparations are already being made, those ships had orders to counterattack in kind if threatened, and therefore, they fired a number of missiles at strategic locations. In the order of peace, we ask that you make no effort to stop them, and all war debts shall be forgiven."

OOC:
I'd need a bit more info if you plan on me continuing to RP the delegates.

SIC:
Upon finishing hi reply, Pinkerton hung up, shook his head and sighed, what he ad just done was garuantee a massive swath of death and destruction upon wherever those missile happened to land.

And any claim that they were Hurtian missiles would quickly be refuted by claiming they were launched much closer to shore than 600 miles. PROHT would not be linked in any way, so why did he still feel sick whenever he thought about what he knew would happen to the 'targets'...

OOC2:

OOC: I already attacked the AWACS. It and its escorts have 80 Meteors on their asses.

IC: The Talons may have underestimated the range of the AMRAAMs, but the Gnats certainly underestimated the speed of the Talons. The Mach 4 of the Slammers simply couldn't catch up with the Mach 5 of the Talon, expecially when the missiles were at the edge of their range. Every single missile fired by the Neroans fell short, falling to earth and splashing into the ocean. The Talons then circled around, firing off another pair of Meteors each at the unarmed Gnats. In total, 200 missiles were heading for the 67 tiny Gnats.

Satisfied that the AWACS would most certainly be destroyed, Vishnu flight dove down towards the remaining Phantoms, unleashing another barrage of 200 Meteors.

On the carriers, a wing of 50 Su-47s was scrambled in case a few Neroian planes got through.

"Shit!" Admiral Nelson yelled as the new missile contacts appeared on radar. "Won't they ever give it a fucking rest?!"

The Phantom-launched missiles were extremely vulnerable. Not only did they have to pass the Avatar's anti-missile sytems, they had to get through half the fleet. Missiles and bullets filled the sky, destroying most of the missiles before they got to the Avatar. Then, they had to make it through the Overlord's own anti-missile systems. The Firestorms pumped missiles into the sky, shredding the anti-shipping missiles before they got close. An handful got through, however, and these impacted the Avatar smack in the center of the hull. The damage was superficial, however, due to the thick Triad armor coating the massive ship.

The troops stood nervously holding onto their triggers, was this yet another trick of the imagination like the dog had been in the HY-2 position; it was soon proven wrong when one of the soldiers tilted and fell, dead – shot by a sniper

“Snipers at three o’clock”

The troops of the Empire turned to attack, as one of the division commanders radioed back

“Send in the Helicopter gunships; I repeat send in the Helicopter gunships. Also, pound the other side; I don’t want any of those goddamn Commies fleeing by the back door.”

Guns fired, and more troops feel, the chief flagman, with the Imperial Flag one of the first to fall. Afterward, a grim silence descended over the troops – the snipers had taken out twenty-six of the soldiers. Suddenly, mortar shells rained all over the nervous soldiers, and more troops emerged, firing AKs and RPKs, and literally killing tens of soldiers at a time, as the troops attempted to fire back. Snipers joined in the game, and started picking off Imperial troops – that was before Captain Marcus noticed their presence and fired a grenade in their direction. Then an eerie silence descended, and things were as quiet as before – in a mere forty-five minutes, 168 soldiers had died and 354 wounded. The Imperial Flag that had been held by the chief flagman for over two-hundred years had been taken.

“Shit – I hope that curse does not come about”

“What curse?”

“It is said that if the Imperial Flag held by the chief flagman is ever captured by any enemy, our troops will face significant defeat in their next major battle”

It won't make a difference. LGBs are meant to be fired at fixed targets and alot lower than 50,000 feet; you will still get bad accuracy and even if you hit, his heavy ships are probably armoured enough to either bounce off, or just not penerate his turrets or deck.

Fleet Captain Tyler O'Niel watched the electronic map as the little GPS placed icons for the ships of his squadron moved ever closer towards Blackhelm. It was a matter of days before they would arrive, true... but he already worried, and watched for enemy submarines. It would be just the last thing they would need, a torpedo in the night, striking a battleship.
He was, of course, taking precautions. Three Crusader Mk. II VTOL gunships were in the air at all times, searching for submarines... he hoped they would find them, if they were out there.

The AA-12 Vympel has a maximum range of 175km. My planes can and will be causing you damage. The MBDA Meteor has a range of a little over a hundred kilometers, thus giving my missiles the longer range.

You also under estimated the power of the Kh-59's. They are loaded with three hundred and twenty kilograms of explosive, enough to cripple the Avatar with only a few well placed missiles. Shots to the engine will render your dreadnought immobile, and missiles to the bridge will likely destroy it.

Then there is the Kh-31. These should have been sufficient in blinding your craft. I made sure to launch enough missiles that these, combined with damage already taken from previous attacks, would overwhelm you anti-missile defenses.

Post more damage.

The troops of the Empire collected the bodies of their comrades and shipped them back to the main beach where they would board the next transport plane for the Empire. The helicopter gunships that had been sent into battle were only reaching the battered troops now.

"What do we do, Sir?"

"Send those choppers and scout the area, I can smell Godless Commies"

The helicopters headed south-east and before long came across a small camp.

"This is Group Alpha Charlie to the First Army, do you copy?"

"Roger - what do you see?"

"We see a small camp, with what appears to be a few thousand men in it, they are making preparations of some sort; looks like they are putting machine guns near wooden walls. You know Sir, it looks like our army can take this camp quite easily"

"Don't count your chickens before they are hatched, over and out"

Certainly it appeared that victory was certain for the armies of the Empire. A large proportion of the First through Fifteenth Armies had been devoted to this war and 300,000 troops were sitting in the jungle, preparing for their attack, and then a surprise decision.

It was a busy day for General Ek Serywath. Transports were constantly arriving at SAFB (Sacrament Air Force Base) carrying all manner of men and equipment. As new units arrived, their eager commanding officers all wanted face time with the great General. Meanwhile, his detached subordinates were constantly pestering him for advice and instructions.

Construction of the air field northeast of Paradise City was coming along nicely. A large level clearing had been made, a makeshift control tower was erected, and two dirt runways were already operational. Two long paved runways were still under construction, and wouldn't be ready for a few days.

The General sat down with his aides to plan his army's movements and operations for the day. Numerous maps were sprawled about his headquarters...

"None of our enemies have made a successful landing thus far. Wiping out the communist insurgents behind our lines seems to be a logical course of action. With them out of the way, we could concentrate our forces on the coast and not have to be concerned with enemy actions behind our lines.

Alexandrian Ptolemais's army seems to have the same notion. With their troops already engaging the commies, we have an opportunity to attempt to either surround or at the very least flank the commies.

Time is of the essence, so we must act quickly. We'll begin with air strikes and airlift as many men as we can into positions north and west of the communists."

General Ek Sereywath has ordered the commencement of air strikes against the communist forces you are currently fighting. To ensure that we do not hinder your own efforts or inflict casualties upon your men, we wish to coordinate our attacks with you as best as possible.

At any given time, we will maintain eight F-15E Strike Eagles and 1 AC-130 Spectre in the air near the communist's positions. Should your forces require any air strikes or close air support, just say the word and it shall be done.

Furthermore, in the next few hours we will begin airlifting troops into the area via helicopter. They will be assuming positions north and west of the communists. It is our goal to assist you in enveloping the enemies so they may be destroyed in mass by your much larger force. At the very least, our troops will cut off avenues of escape.

“Hmmm, interesting – stay here son, I will need you to send the message back to them. Hopefully, the coding machines will make sure that they receive the message in their own code”

Captain Trang Chinh,

The Empire welcomes your suggestion of a co-ordinated attack. We are presently located about ten miles nor-west of the Commie camp, and since the sea is to the west and our navy has virtual control of the coast for the next fifty miles, the north and the west are reasonably safe. This does leave us vulnerable in the east and the south for Communist escape however – would it be possible for your troops to move to the east and the south instead of the north and west?

In terms of the air support, we thank you for your suggestion. Although we do have our air force participating in this war, the bombers are still largely based in the Empire, half a day away, while our fighters are mainly designed for plane escort and light-bombing runs – we don’t have airplane gunships as such, only helicopter gunships, which are vulnerable to attack.

Our troops on the ground are presently constructing a road between our beach camp and their present location, however, construction of that may take a further half-week; if you wish to, we can attack within minutes of your deployment to the positions near the Commies, and put construction of the road on halt.

Sincerely,

General Winston Smith

“Quiet, we are near their camp; I can see their wooden walls, perhaps two miles that way, we’ll move in”

As the undergrowth made noise, the troops quietly used their animal sounds in an attempt to disguise their movements. Slowly they crept forward, and saw the camp; with the usual activity of camps.

“Looks like a normal camp to me”

“Yes, a camp on the move – something big is going to happen I suspect”

“Why the hell does Captain Smith want us to build that road – their camp couldn’t have more than ten thousand people; we outnumber them thirty to one”

“Yes, and they have fortune on their side – they have our flag remember; you know about that curse”

“What crap, you know that is some stuff invented to stop the chief flag bearer from dropping his flag”

“Still…shit, we have been spotted – hide in the undergrowth”

Captain Marcos was busy checking the flag that had been presented to him by one of the rebels, it was sure to be a morale booster, but it also made them targets for retaliations. He stopped one of the Freedom Fighters, gave him the flag and ordered him to take into the tunnel underground (a la VC).

Meanwhile

"They found the camp"

"Shit shit shit shit! Do you have a clear shot?"

"I think I can take down their officer"

"Good, I'll fire first and take down the Sergeant, as soon as I press the trigger, kill their CO, thats ought to alert the guys in the camp"

His finger went for the trigger and started pulling it harder, harder...

It won't make a difference. LGBs are meant to be fired at fixed targets and alot lower than 50,000 feet; you will still get bad accuracy and even if you hit, his heavy ships are probably armoured enough to either bounce off, or just not penerate his turrets or deck.

Quest, It pains me to say this, but you are wrong, Blackhelm has a very good chance of hitting those boats, and they according to specs, they have less armor than the Hood or Arizona.

As for the laser guided bombs, I've seen a GBU-14 glide into an open doorway of a destroyer taking evasive manuvers (though without ECM).

The accuracy of the laser Guided bomb is limited mostly by the accuracy of the laser designator, fixed/semi-fixed ground mounts being best, self contained FLIR/LADAR being the worst.

He'll still manage to hit unless I shoot down the designating aircraft or force them to jink faster than the designator can compensate (faster or to a greater extent than the gimbal can turn).
Causing a break, and hopefully, the bomb will miss and hit whatever the designator pointed at last or go dumb and free fall.

Re: Current Operation

Given your present location, it does seem more sensible for us to land our troops south and east of the communists' positions.

Our troops are on their way. Air support is currently available. Beyond the attack aircraft we've already discussed, a Predator UAV is being sent in to monitor communist troop movements. Attached is a list of radio frequencies, authentication codes, and decryption keys you may use to call in air strikes and receive our Predator's video feeds.

Be advised that should the communists attempt to escape before our troops are in place, we may use helicopters to dispense anti-personnel mines along their escape route. Should this occur, we will provide you with the locations of any mine fields we lay.

At Sacrament Air Force base, Hi-8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil_Mi-8) and Mi-24 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi-24_Hind) helicopters took to the air. The helicopters were old, but sported a fresh coat of paint. Even with their new paint jobs, Pudite military insignias were still faintly visible up close.

The helicopters made their way south carrying 4,000 men altogether. A good number of them towed assorted objects including a small quantity of lightweight howitzers, bundled packages of ammunition, and assorted weapons.

Little was known about the communist troop numbers. Until the Predator had time to fill in the blanks, it was decided the landings should take place no less than 15 miles away from known communist positions with the howitzers being placed even further. Groups of 200 men would be scattered in a semi-circle around the communist positions. Until the helicopters could bring in more men, their wide net had plenty of holes. While they waited, the men occupied their time setting up their weapons and putting together whatever cover and camouflage they could.

OOC: Here is what has been deployed
- 19 groups of men with 200 soldiers each bearing assorted small arms and crew served weapons plus one RQ-11 Raven UAV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RQ-11_Raven)
- 5 artillery groups consisting of 10 M119A2 howitzers

OOC: Uhm, if taking a 3 mile beach is a godmod, then how can a splintered, de-centrailzed navy, hold off several allied powers, while securing funding as too keep the economy running, along with impenitrible coastal defences, and still take tiny losses. Check OOC.

Then, suddenly out of the camp came a shot - Sergeant Jones got struck; fortunately, it was in the arm, and the detail threw a smoke grenade, and used the cover to escape.

"Damn it, they know that we are on to them"

"Better return to camp and tell about their proposed actions"

At the front lines camp

"Sir, we can grab the Commie camp site - I swear that there are only ten thousand troops max; we have about 300,000 men"

"You are aware Jones that they are on a goddamn hill - they have the advantage of being able to fire at us. Also, until Emperor Nero's troops land on the east and south, they have an escape route."

"Sir, not for me to question you, but we don't need this road, the heavy vehicles can be left at the beach, maybe send in some of the fighters for light bombing runs this evening - that would certainly keep the Commies awake"

"Hmmm - I'll radio General Smith about that idea, you may be on to something"

------------------------

The radio room of the APIV Helios was yet again busy when the messages came in

"Roger, this is APIV Helios, do you copy"

"Roger, first army copies, we have had a scouting detail mention that the Commie camp may have about ten thousand men in it, and that it can be easily taken. I suggest that helicopter gunships and our fighter-bombers be sent in to keep them awake this evening"

"Roger - will tell the General, over and out"

In the background, another message from Emperor Nero was printing, and along with the reports from the ground, were sent to a nervous General Smith

"Hmmm - thank you son; just the message we need," and with that, ink and paper came out for the next transmission

Captain Trang Chinh,

Thank you for your message. The first matter that we need to deal to is our frequencies - please find a list of all appropriate signals relating to our operations; which includes access to decoding operations. Any messages sent by the enemy are usually decoded within a few minutes by our powerful decoding system.

We also thank you for the warning about the mines - if we do find the camp abandoned, the troops will be ordered to hold on and not to fire a thing unless fired upon, and only proceed once the messages come through. We almost had a nasty experience with the mines in our landings a few days ago.

Also, thank you for informing us of the presence of your Predator. We are considering a light bombing run with our fighter, just to scare the Commies more than anything, and perhaps demoralise them - we will make sure that the Predator is not at all touched.

Sincerely,

General Winston Smith

Weapon test footage. I have a VHS tape of it.

Twas a TV guided bomb though. (GBU-15B unit)

But another example of laser guided munition accuracy would be the laser designated variant of the Maverick hitting a moving tank, which is both smaller and faster than any blue water ship available in MT.

If Black can tell me how many of his bombs were dropped successfully, and which were guided throuout their entirety, perhaps along with his aircraft losses, I would be able to get a fairly accurate number of ships hit, and black, you are allowed to target specific boats.

The B-2 has no intgeral laser designating systems, so you'd be using a strap down pod.
Which would be counter productive of the B-2 design. And concurently, the B-2 lacks provisions for mounting such targeting pods.
(B-2s have Link 16 data ports, but not an R-7 rated carriage system, so even the ATP would not work with this plane)
[reads up on what Link 16 is (a LOS data link between planes and satalites, asnd has nothing to do with mounting a targeting pod)]

Therefore, I either OOCly ask BC to use a different bomb guidance system (as Laser clearly won't work with a RL B-2) a differnt plane rated to handle laser guided munitions, or explain how he's going to mount a Laser designator onto a B-2 without greatly affecting its RCS, and without using external pylons, as the B-2 has none.

Re: Air Strikes

General Smith,

Aerial surveillance indicates the communist force is far smaller than previously thought. At most they have a few hundred men. We are monitoring their movements, and will commence with our air strikes the moment the abandon their cover to flee.

Due to this new intelligence, we won't be sending as many men as initially planned. The two brigades we've already sent should be more than sufficient especially considering the large volume of troops you have nearby.

General Sereywath was annoyed to learn of the small size of the communist force. A paltry few hundred men weren't worth the planes, helicopters, and men he'd dedicated towards their destruction. Still, his assets were in place. It would be a crime not to kill those commies after all the effort they'd invested...

High in the sky, the Predator spy plane continued to observe the movements of the communists. With the targeting information it provided, the eight F-15 Strike Eagles moved in for the kill. As the communists and General Smith's forces disengaged, the F-15's made a pass intent on pounding the commies with cluster bombs.

Elsewhere, the two Imperial brigades gathered up their equipment, and began to close in on the commies while helicopters from SAFB were dispatched to pick up the artillery crews. The burdensome howitzers would not be needed for this operation after all.

A Confederate Firebase, Bravo Alpha Delta, 11:00PM, PT, 30 km Northeast of Paradise City...

Several dozen Confederate troops milled around. They were supposed to keep CWP reinforcments from getting to the capital, and had thus far launched a fair number of succesful raids on enemy supply lines. The base was set up like a five point star, at each point a bunker for the soldiers to fire out from. The center of the base housed a battery of four G7 105mm Howitzers.

A young corporal looked out from his bunker into the dense, dark jungle around him. His AR22A3 sat just a few feet away from him leaning against the wall. He picked a camel cigarette out from his pack, and put it in his mouth, and then drew a cheap, blue plastic Bic lighter and went to light it. Then suddenly, BANG! BANG-BANG! A sniper opened up, striking the soldier in the face. The young man collapsed instantly. Another soldier was hit in the left elbow, and also collapsed. He grabbed a flare gun and fired it out the window, a signal to the other bunkers that could see him.

A battle quickly ensued, as seemingly hundreds of guerillas came pouring out of the darkness. Flares and mortar rounds lit up the sky as the guerillas advanced. Mortars soon battered apart one of the bunkers, then managed to overwhelm the small group defending the newly made breach. Confederate air support was called in, and a pair of Mi-2 Hoplite helicopter gunships zipped into the area, strafing the guerillas with machine gun fire. Two more came in to begin evacuating the base.

After forty-five minutes, 64 Confederate soldiers lay dead, and all five of the Howitzers had been captured. An unknown number of Communist fighters were also killed, but the Confederate Government assured the people of a 3:1 kill ratio in favor of their brave men.

The twenty Homeland class battleships and five Chieftain class pocket battleships also added to the fight, but no ship more so than Admiral Ironclaw's Kraken class dreadnought. Shell after shell pounded into the enemy fleet. In the mind of Lucius Ironclaw, this battle would be a swift and decisive one for the Corporation, and the Confederacy.

The camp was busy preparing for dinner – this evening’s dish was to be spam stew with some bread. As the troops were sitting down, a couple of helicopters came with the food for the next morning. As they landed, there was some interesting news

“Sir, I believe the Commies are moving out,”

“Can you confirm this?”

“Yes sir, there may only be a few people left”

The hand bells were soon ringing and spam stew was dropped as the troops headed into their tents, and got armed. The army marched up the hill, not breaking step, and walked to within a few hundred yards of the camp.

“Pass me some grenades”

“What, sir?”

“I said pass me some grenades”

The Captain had reason to be nervous – when the going was good; there was usually some sort of trap. He threw the grenades in and the camp replied with a massive explosion.

“Thought so – ah, those Commies; they never learn”

The troops walked in and took control. Inside the camp, it was clear that this abandonment had been planned. There was not a scrap of anything useful. Indeed, there were only the bodies of the dead; however, as the troops were clearing out the corpses, one of them came to life

“Who the hell are you?”

“He’s a Commie, send him to base camp, get him treated, and then question the hell out of him – oh, Captain, by the way, you said this sounded familiar”

“Yes son”

“This is exactly like the Northern Wars; better start planning for guerrilla war”

Thank you for the assistance in the battle. It was unfortunate that we could not capture the camp sooner, however, the campsite has now been captured and secured. Our grenades cleared the immediate campsite of mines; however, we can be certain that there are more for the waiting.

We also found a badly injured Commie inside the camp. We are sending him to be recuperated and then questioned. We intend to wait at this site, and still build our road. I believe that the hill has a commanding position of this area – this will probably be the Imperial Base until such time as our forces leave the country.

This was the Grand Admirals Chance. As the 1st Fleet was engaged, and so were its aircraft, the 7th fleet began a massive wheel maneuver. The 1st took a beating, but its fighters were no rookies. The Destroyer launched their pre set SAM missiles straight up wards. When they reached the pre-set altitude, they detonated, releasing massive fireballs, dispatching a good number of the unmanned balloons.

The fires deployed flares like mad, their counter- measures surviving the first onslaught. The deadly pilots came too brutal dog fighting, sweeping around too lock on their target, and fire.

Planes were lost, but the ploy had worked. The 7th fleet now fired, its 50 assorted ships pounding on The Griffencrest fleet, at one flank. The 1st held strong, its engineers bravely combating the flames.

The Dreadnought was spotted by the Dolphin Class wolf pack, assigned too its death. They aimed the longer ranged torpedo's, firing, then being quick too flee.

The Griffencrest fleet was now in the open. Satellite images were produced too the awaiting long range Surface too surface missiles in New Ausha. 150 Sped off their launchers, at the unfortunate Griffencrest ships.

Unmanned predator aircraft sped close too the enemy ships, but far enough too avoid the unmanned chain guns. They unleashed their payloads of long range armor piercing missiles.

2 Nimitz Class Carriers (F-14, Su-33)
1 Iowa Class Battleship
3 Aurora Class Battlecruisers
1 Kirov Class Battlecruiser
5 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers
5 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers
18 Rajput Class Destroyers
3 Sovremenny Class Destroyers
15 Krivak Class Frigates
15 South Sea Class Frigates

The planes took to the air, 90 of them all equipped in the antishipping role fired off their missiles and returned to the ship while antiaircraft aircraft took off to escort them and engage the Aushan fighters.

The Iowa opened up on the smallest ship in range, while the other ships unleashed a massive hellstorm of missiles, over a thousand Harpoons, Tomahawks, BrahMos and Sunburn missiles streaked toward the enemy fleet. The ships moved forward to use their guns to finish off the remaining ships. The Krivaks moved into their antisubmarine role.

Hopefully the Destroyers with aircraft support could get around them and essentially get the New Aushan fleet into a deadly 3 way naval crossfire, and a 4 way combined ground and naval crossfire. There would be no escape.

OOC: Actually Blackhelm got mad, and so I re-mapped my fleet a few hundred miles back and attacked again. My 1st and 7th fleets are flanking black helm. Congrats, you've just come too meet the 7th fleet.

Countermeasures all across the detachment were set off. Patriot guided missiles, with a 95% success radius, hit the enemy missiles, while Destroyer deployed Radar jamming rendered enemy missiles useless.

The hit and run tactics of the Fighters was an ill chosen strategy, as AA destroyers, outfitted with man SAM's fired into the skies, smashing into the hopeless attacker, in their vein attempt too hit the shipping. The amazingly fast interceptors, wolfs, seagulls, and wraiths were eager too take eon the Leafenstan air force.

Deck guns now zeroed in on the aggressors, as the tomahawks flew out of their turrets.

Long range Surface too Surface missiles fired at satellite targeted leaf carriers.

Submarines split into lethal wolf packs, firing long range torpedo's, and quickly leaving.

Helicopters preyed upon the shoreline's of Blackhelm. They were care too follow the path pre determined, where shores had been hit.

More marines began too unload, abandoning their rafts. The water towers in the surf, were demolished, one by one. Soon, 3000 feet now lay clear, for at least a small bit. The 150 Marine watched overhead as Cruise missiles flew at the poor enemy.

OOC: There is a bit of confusion regarding antishipping missiles on planes, I just took them off, have them hang around the fleet and fire at close to maximum range to avoid wasting my aircraft. But I'll let you smack into the escort.

Also you are telling me out of a thousand missiles not a single one inflicted damage onto your fleet, along with a few full salvos from the main guns? I'm calling you out.

Also the Leafanistani military isn't attacking you. If you want it can, but you'd be royally fucked. This is the Leafanistani Mafia that is attacking you.

IC: The fighters fired off their missiles and moved back in to the air cover of the fleet, nonetheless they took heavy casualties from long-range missiles.

18 F-14s
12 Su-33s

Downed. 2 of the Arleigh Burke Destroyer were completely destroyed while the carriers suffered minimal damage, they were in the middle of the fleet and combined antimissile fire from the rest of the fleet shot down the missiles.

Base Camp, ten miles nor-west of the old Communist Camp

"Captain, there is a lot of radio traffic coming through, and all of it sounds like Commie code,"

"Alright; keep those babies running, print for papa, print for papa"

"Sir, there appears to be a group of Communist Workers Party forces, five miles to the east"

"Shit"

"And that is not all, they have Katyusha's to the West and East of the camp, our navy can probably pound the people to the West, however, the question still is about the East. They are also preparing a group of several thousand soldiers equipped with everything"

"Shit, our defence at the moment only consists of the old Commie camp, and what 300,000 men on the front and the 250,000 here can muster very quickly; I'll contact Captain Smith and tell him to prepare some sort of defence. Perhaps a few trenches and a pallisade from all those trees will do it. We got to prepare our defences and dig in. Oh, and the group five miles East of here - make sure that our vehicles pound them."

---------------------------
One hour later

"Attention all personnel, in coming choppers"

"Hmmm, lets see what the front has brought for us"

"Captain, the front has brought you a Communist present"

"A captured Commie; excellent - make sure he is treated and prepared for questioning; perhaps we can get to the bottom of this"

The Undershi fleet waited just off the shore, while their 500 Undershi marines landed on the shore. They would secure a beach-head, and prepare the way for deliveries of arms and equippment to the Confederate and Griffencrest armies.
Already, the first shipment of arms was enroute - sixty thousand AK-47 rifles, purchased cheaply off the black market, then sent to their allies, along with three hundred thousand magazines for those rifles, and one thousand cases of grenades.
The plan for what to do with those weapons was simple - organize pro-Griffencrest militias, arm them and send them off to destroy the rebel support base. Of course, Undershi marines would be along as "advisors," and would act as the officer cadre of the new militias...
Tyler O'Niel watched the landings, and wondered about the plan. They were landing south of Paradise City, in the middle of nowhere. He wondered if they would be able to find enough locals to arm for their militias to prove useful. Oh well... even if they couldn't, they would still be able to send those weapons to the Confederate government or to Griffencrest as a sign of good faith...

Upon viewing the Blackhelm country, the fleet prepared their landing instruments and tools.

OOC:
Oh.... Kay....... I'm not that far along... yet, but I'll take it in consideration When I get there.
I'll see what I can do with those bombers, as I know those are within range.
(Checks defenses of the Hiragi and Terror class boats)
Terror class looks adaquately defended against cooking off of their own weapons

Looks up Hiragi at CSMJ, 1 to 4" deck plating... Hoping that this figure is just the top plate and not all 3 decks...

Edit: name of city

Posting losses:
After the surprise attack, a quick count of ships revealed that they had hit 5 ships, due to some fluke, the HTS Dunkirk was ignored and unscathed, and the majority of the bombs fell upon the new Hiragi class, rather than the decrepit Auxillary Cruisers. Secondary explosions and shrapnel wounded a number of the crew attempting to escape the sinking ship and those attempting to recover survivors, depth charges caused a number of personel to 'dissapear' into the depths as they bobbed helplessly in the ocean.

4 Sniper class destroyers damaged, 1 division of militia drowned, 5 Hiragis sunk outright, 6 Barbours damaged.

General Trinh Danh, Commander of the 22,000 man garrison in Sacrament City was displeased. He'd been ordered to organize the city's defenses. The ammunition and weapon depots he wanted were in place, but the infantry division and engineer brigade assigned to his command were behind schedule erecting the fortifications he wanted. He needed more men. He knew General Sereywath would not assign him additional units, but he still had a deadline to meet.

The old General penned a memo...

To: Mayor & City Council of Sacrament City
Re: Mobilizing Civilians
From: General Trinh Danh

As you are no doubt aware, the Empire has ordered units under my command to aid and help organize the defense of your city.

My men have been hard at work erecting fortifications on the outskirts of your city. As you are located far behind the current battle lines, few men have been assigned to my command. It is my desire that the fortifications we have planned be completed as quickly as possible. Towards this end, we have established eight civilian volunteer coordination centers at various locations in your city. Any time day or night, any civilians wanting to assist in erecting our defense can show up to work as many or as few hours as they desire. As we are strangers to your people, I request that you do what you can to encourage individuals to assist in our efforts.

Also, I request permission to provide arms and training to any of your citizens that want to be able to defend themselves if the city comes under attack. We have several hundred thousand surplus weapons available to us (mostly M16's) and an abundance of ammunition. If it is feasible, we would like for the city to setup a telephone hotline that people can call to signup to receive a weapon and training. They'd be given a time and place to go. When they arrive, they would take part in an hour long training class detailing how to fire and care for whatever weapon they were being issues (and have a chance to do a little target practice).

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding these proposals.

Sincerely,
General Trinh Danh

After conducting their air strike, the eight F-15's returned to base satisfied they’d done some damage to the enemy. Given the small size of the communist forces, only two F-15's took to the air to replace those that had just returned.

On the ground, the two brigades continued to close on the communists' last known position. Once they'd come within two miles of the suspected communist stronghold, the brigades would halt their movement and entrench. If the communists tried to flee south or east, they wanted to be in position to lay an ambush. Otherwise, they were content to allow their ally's much larger force do the dirty work.

The Aushan fleet would now feel the power of the Corporation. Hundreds upon hundreds of HY-2 missiles flew into the enemies flank, while Rajput launched BrahMos missiles smashed into their other side, thus causing their CIWS systems to decide which flank to cover.

Hundreds of shells pounded into the Aushans , whether the were from the small twin mounted 76mm guns mounted on the Rajputs, or from the deafening blasts of the Kraken's fifteen 30 inch ETC guns. Explosions rocked the Aushan fleet, and still Admiral Ironclaw was confident of his victory.

All was not as good as it looked. Several Rajputs were sunk or sinking, and a Homeland class battleship was listing dangerously in the oil and sailor filled water. Other Rajput destroyers had come alongside to attempt to save as many lives as possible before the ship inevitably went under.

At Sacrament, the 17th Confederate Air Fleet also began to prepare itself. Ten Condor class airships, along with an equal number of Hyperions and their escorts began to take off, ordered to assist the Griffincrest fleet against the Aushans.

On shore, five 500mm railguns had joined in the fray, launching their speeding, massive shells flying into Aushan battleships. Incinerateur rapid fire artillery guns were also beginning to come online. These guns were going to prove devastating to the enemy. The Kriegzimmer designed weapons are capable of firing several dozen 155mm artillery shells into enemy ships, and the Aushan fleet would soon feel their wrath.

About 24 missiles were fired at Redemption when you attacked me...
(Mostly for fear that they would detonate among the fleet, as these are 'special' missiles. [Biohazardous])

If you would like, I could RP their intended flight path and delivery (as that is somewhat non-typical of an SSM)

TO: PROHT Government,
FROM: Confederate High Command

We will not use our Firestorm systems to down the missiles, but we can make no guarantees about the Redemption Defense Force or their Harbor Patrol, as they are out of the juridiction of the Confederate military.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Redemption Harbor patrol picked up the missiles as they came in, and opened up with their CIWS systems. Half of the missiles are destroyed over the water by the small fleet, but still, twelve streaked over head. Frantic messages were sent to the Confederate Firestorm batteries on shore about the incoming missiles. Inside the batteries, however, the officers ignored the calls, some even turning their radioes off. They had their orders not to intercept the missiles.

The Redemption Defense Force had to act, and fast. They quickly manned their two dozen 88mm Flak cannons, and opened up, filling the sky with thick black clouds. At the same time, air raid sirens rang out, sending people scrambling for the pre-designated bombs shelters, places which they had been taught to go to since grade school. The flying pieces of metal given off by the Flak managed to down a number of missiles, but still, three got through, crashing around the city.

Fleet Captain Tyler O'Niel smilled as he finally recieved orders from the Corporate authorities. Now he knew what to do. At his signal, all four battleships and six of the eight destroyers began to move out. They were going to meet up with the Griffincrest fleet, and attack the New Aushan fleet.
