Could it perhaps be possible for me to switch from Poland to H.Himmler, =Schutzstaffel as a whole? I would, after a year or two of some character developing replace him with someone with a bit more cunning and coolness, perhaps Paul Hausser or some other Waffen-SS leader. Do you think this would be feasible, Thrashia? I know you already have Osteia's Kluge on your side there, but I still think that SS will become to have more importance than the whole nation of Poland, and I don't really feel like playing partisans, afterall. Rather those who hunt them, frankly :D

I would be a fanatical, quite stupid but very ambitious and self-loving bastard, (this part is easy for me, all I have to do is to be myself :rolleyes: ), and try to convince Hitler that SS needs to become stronger. If I choose Hausser to be the leader of the militant wing, he will persuade Himmler to ask for more resources for the founding of a strong and extremely loyal and fanatical elite force, "an army within the army", the Waffen SS.
Himmler will be more interrested about gaining personal power, but understands that this army-like SS would benefit him too, while Hausser does his best to become (after Hitler himself, naturally) the object of loyalty and trust for the W-SS. Eventually he will either openly challenge old Heincrich, make himself look better than Himmler in the eyes of Der Führer in a behind-the-scenes struggle or make some sort of an "accident" to happen to that silly jew-hater.

How exactly are the battles fought it this thread? Rped out by the players or moderated by someone?

Battles are fought and rp'd out by the players themselves, should moderation be required I will play the part. I of course simply ask that everyone rp as well as possible, keeping to what they know according to how effective their troops were at the time.

Got a question. Can we design our own equipment (planes, tanks, etc.), so long as it's realistic the given time and country?

For now we'll keep to original equipment, vehicles, etc. However after a while I will permit (with the natural advancement of technology) some experimentation to take place. For now though, keep it as it is.

That would be very interesting. Right now though I would like you to stick to Poland. If Poland is conquered, then you can be assured of me letting you RP the SS. For now though, stick to it. Work ok for ya?

Hmmm... Actually, I'd much preferr playing the young Waffen-SS in their first battles against the Poles... but perhaps I could do both? I mean, the Poland isn't going to stand anyways. I can play those few SS-divisions I have by then (if Himmler gets it his way), and post the moves of the doomed Poles also. Not all that deeply, but like;

"The Northern Army (Sikorski) tries to hold the Vistula line, while the Southern is being routed with heavy losses. Government is getting desperate, but the troops are still fighting bravely, despite the defeats. Morale of the civilian population is however shrinking, as the main cities are getting heavily bombed."

Thanks! I'll do my best... but I'll mainly concentrate on the SS anyways. Just when the battle begins, I can add a little colour to the battle as the Poles, too. No problem.

Not to be presumptuous, but if you wanted an overall, completely unbiased moderator for this RP, I'd be more than glad to do it. I know quite a good deal about ww2, roleplaying, various technologies, etc. I wouldn't be setting down hard rules, just trying to mediate between disputes, etc.

I see no reason for why you couldn't be both... Greece is not such a major power, afterall... and someone else could be the moderator in conflicts you're involved with.

Well, I've just occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia, and ordered a general mobilization of the Wehrmacht. We'll see how the democratic nations of the world react to that.

On the threat of Gustopo officers breaking my door down not posted to long ago, I must say that I will not be able to post until at least saturday. I going to a fencing competion, leaving in about two hours. I'll be gone till Sunday if I somehow qualify for the last round. Day for now.
