The War with Emperor Nero (OPEN) - Page 2

Greater Morocco

For over a decade the people of Greater Morocco harbored hatred for the miserable nation of Icovir. Many times the Moroccan people felt the stings of Icovirian bombs. Today, the Icovirians would a heavy price in blood for their past crimes.

The stage was set. The Icovirians were embroiled in a foreign war. Their government was reeling from a coupe attempt. As always, the Moroccan army was amassed on the eastern border, poised to strike. With no warning or declaration of war, the order was given...

"Attack"

With that single word, the largest Moroccan army ever assembled came down from their fortified positions in the mountains. As fast as they could, they advanced towards the eastern border of Icovir's African territory.

Elsewhere, the nation's air force bases prepared to launch the largest air strike possible. Their targets: Icovir's air force bases. At the same time, the fledgling Moroccan fleet set course for Icovirian waters.

This would be total war. No expense would be spared. The Moroccans had waited a decade for the opportune time to strike. It was now or never.

Emperor Nero
23-11-2006, 13:00
In all his wisdom, Emperor Nero saw fit to send nearly half of his newly aquired F-15 Strike Eagles to bases in Greater Morocco.

There, his pilots waited and watched as the Moroccan air force took to the air. General Dinh, commander of the Empire's air forces in Greater Morocco, expected the Icovirian's to scramble every fighter they had to ward off the Moroccan attack. He hoped to use this to his advantage. After the "crazy Muslims" were done battling each other, his own aircraft would strike the Icovirians while their fighters were being refueled and rearmed.

Instead of launching a massive attack, General Dinh favored a sustained air campaign. He had 240 attack aircraft at his disposal. Every hour, 40 of them would take off. With a bit of planning and hard work by his ground crews, that schedule could be maintained for several days until munitions ran out.

First Wave of Attacks (all 240 aircraft attacking once)
1st Hour - 8 squads of 5 F-15's attack Icovirian airfields trying to target aircraft on the ground and air force runways
2nd Hour - same as first
3rd Hour - same as first
4th Hour - 4 squads of 5 F-15's attack Icovirian airfields trying to target aircraft on the ground and runways, 4 squads of 5 15's attack power grid and government buildings in Medinah
5th Hour - same as fourth except Alexandria is attacked
6th Hour - same as fourth except Etiriec is attacked

OOC: Unless something happens that prevents these planes from taking off, the attacks will continue even if heavy casualties are sustained.

Caliph Victor I walked out of the bomber, Surtur-C in hand. He rushed into Al -Masjid Al-Haram when he heard a loud noise.

A bomb from an aircraft.

"DAMN!" He yelled. Natock stopped also.

"I have no time for this" said the Caliph. He shot Natock in the leg, leaving him still alive. He turned to the citizen army: "Do with him what you wish".

The Caliph then turned to the regular army; 7,000,000 men and women. "Come with me" he said.

The Palace of Al-Adbullah (The Palace of the Servent of God)
"So, where did that airstrike come from?" said the Caliph. As soon as he finished that sentence, another bomb was heard. They were very loud.

"Well, my guess is the Neroians" stated Captain, now General and Second-In-Command of the Icovirian Military, Hussein.

"We have no time for attack on our own soil right after a Civil War" said the Caliph. "This is frusterating me, but I doubt the Neroians have enough power after what we did to them to attack our own soil".

Hussein: "We can't go about assuming things so quick, sir".

Caliph: "Well, who else has the power to attack our own soil?"

Hussein: "Beiraq, Achmara, and the Blackhelm Confederacy".

Caliph: "Our former enemies: they wouldn't attack us after our last major war. Besides Achmara; they've been unusually quiet for the past years".

Hussein: "We also have Greater Morocco".

Caliph: "Damn, are you serious? How can we fight the Neroians AND the Moroccans?"

Hussein: "Well... We can end this quick with some nuclear weapons".

Caliph: "That's true, but that won't stop their ownslaught of aircraft. If they have enough stored up, they can continue attacking us even after we nuke them".

Hussein: "It's worth a shot, sir".

Caliph: "I can't risk any Pudite involvement, which will probably happen if I do nuke that country. I'd hate to have to attack my own Muslim brothers, but it's time to do so.

Icovir has been preparing for all of this. Prepare the 7,000,000-man Army for the invasion of Greater Morocco. Meanwhile, have the 4,000,000 National Guardsmen defend our African borders.

Have a whole Fleet, the strongest we can manage, defend our waters from Alexandria City to the State of Saud.

Order 3,000 aircraft fighters to defend our borders. Meanwhile, we will have 3,000 bombers to bomb whatever is left of that country after we nuke them. Also have 1,000 fighters to attack them (OOC: probably the most I can manage airforce-wise).

Prepare all of this, and launch a nuclear weapon using our technology. Preferable a Hydrogen Bomb".

Hussein: "Yes sir".
Icovir
23-11-2006, 13:31
The Hydorgen Bomb took off from the Royal Isle. The mainland was too dangerous to launch something like that from.

Aircraft were launched into the sky; 3,000 fighters to defend Icovir. 1 hour later, battles raged. Captain Yusuf, a pilot, radioed in General Hussein.

"Uhhh sir; emergency. These aircraft don't look Moroccan at all. They look Neroian".

Hussein banged his hand on the table. "Continue fighting them. There will probably be some Moroccans attacking with them"

"Yes sir".

Hussein turned to the Caliph. "Sir, it seems that there ARE Neroian aircraft assisting the Moroccans on their little raid".

"How cute" said the Caliph. "Show them hell and no mercy. Even if it means commiting genocide; I don't care if it means Human Rights Violations; bomb the hell out of those bastards".

Hussein never saw the Caliph this angry, and he dared not respond except to launch the attacks.

Over the personal radioes every citizen carried (OOC: In my issues, I chose this option, lol), the government sent out warning signals.

"Go back to your homes immediatly. This is total war. A draft is also in place. All men over the age of 17 and under the age of 50 come to the nearest military base".

200 Aircraft began to take off at a base when they were bombed. "Sir, sir!" yelled one pilot who was fighting. "They're attacking our airbases!".

"Damnit!" yelled Hussein. This job was stressful. Hussein ordered a full nuclear strike on the nations of Greater Morocco and Emperor Nero. A full nuclear strike as in Hydrogen Bombs only, 5 launching at a time. The fact that Emperor Nero and Greater Morocco were on the same continents as Icovir helped.

5 Hydrogen Bombs were launched towards Emperor Nero. None, save the 1 launched earlier, were launched towards Greater Morocco just yet. The 5 Hydrogen Bombs took off from Oman.
Emperor Nero
23-11-2006, 13:34
The Emperor sat on his thrown with a large map of Icovir laid out before him. In this opulent room in his underground bunker, he was surrounded by military aids and servants.

The Emperor spoke.

"Surely the Icovirians never expected this war to reach their homeland. Now that it has, they will want the war to end quickly no doubt. Tell me of Beiraq." - Emperor Nero

"My Emperor, the Beiraqis are our Corporate Alliance brothers. They rival Icovir in size, and their military is impressive. As you can see, they posses territory bordering Icovir, and the two of them have a history of conflict." - Chie Lo

"Excellent. I wish to open another front against the Icovirian. The strategic advantage would be significant. Contact the Beiraqis to see if they will join us. Surely they will want to take this opportunity to expand their holdings in the oil rich Middle East." - Emperor Nero

"I will see to it personally, my Emperor" - Chie Lo

OOC: lol, posting streak.

IC: "I need CHEMICAL WEAPONS!" yelled Hussein. "Why did we stop that damned program?!"

"We still have 1 Chemical Weapon" said a cowering Nuclear Specialist.

"Well then USE IT!" yelled Hussein.

The Chemical Weapon was headed for the Greater Moroccan capital. It was aboard a bomber.

The Hydrogen Bomb launched towards Greater Morocco was 20 miles away from the country now. A full out nuclear war on the same continent was bound to hae grave consequences later on, but that wasn't the main concern on neither the Caliph's nor General Hussein's minds. The Hydrogen Bomb began the self destruct sequence; it was rigged to blow in 2 minutes. This was to have it do it's damage even if something prevented it from actually hitting land.

The fighters used for defending the Icovirian border in Africa were split in half. 1,500 were ordered to defend the Icovirian border in Africa, while 1,500 were ordered to defend all air bases.
Emperor Nero

A bomber was heard flying over the Fleet.

"Damn" said Captain Hussein gravely. "It looks liek the Neroians are going to die a painful death".

The bomber continued flying towards Emperor Nero. The pilot aimed his plane straight for it's Capital, fully expecting to die in the oncoming Hydrogen Bomb explosion.

Air Force One, meanwhile, landed in Medinah. The people were thankful for the Caliph's return. Many were heard screaming "save us!".

The Caliph squeezed his fist. "Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Raheem" said the Caliph. "We will kill the traitor".

The Caliph yelled to everyone in the city: "Any man or woman wishing to fight and defend the name of Allah prevaling in Icovir, go to the Military Base of Egyptistan immediatly and arm yourselves! Kill the traitors! Kill Natock!" yelled the Caliph. He then planned to make his way on a bomber towards his palace. He was assuming that Natock was residing there.

Meanwhile, the people armed themselves and marched towards Mecca; the location of the military base full of the "Coupers" (as the Icovirians called them). The Holy City of Islam would be rid of non-believing filth through war.

The Caliph made one final announcement to the people before boarding the bomber. "The Holy City of Makkah has never seen this type of war since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alahi wasalaam. Make me proud, and make Allah proud".

Radar tracking stations monitored the bomber's progress within a few minutes of it taking off. The bomber had a long way to travel before reaching the capital. Between now and then, there would was plenty of time to launch fighters to intercept. Two Harriers hidden east of Play Cu took to the air. Further north, four Su-37's took off from the International Airport in Vinh.

They moved at top speed to intercept the lone bomber with orders to fire.

The bomber's course was plotted to determine likely targets. Cities and installations deemed to be at risk were ordered to mobilize their AA defenses.

OOC:Ok, no nukes for you :D

GM hasn't RP'ed the strike yet. And I forgot to post my navy's numbers:

OOC: Ok. What I really should have asked is whether or not you will accept nuclear attacks if you use nukes against any of us?

Also, I get the impression your whole land army is in Africa at the moment. Does this mean your territory in the Middle East and Europe are relatively undefended?

OOC: Ok. What I really should have asked is whether or not you will accept nuclear attacks if you use nukes against any of us?

Depends. If you start launching 5,000 nukes at one time, no. If it's reasonable, yes. I probably shouldn't even launch any nukes :D

Not all. Remember I had the draft. After seeing the troop numbers of Greater Morocco, I've decided that I can use a lot of them for regular defense (as I usually do). So, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe up to Rome is defended.

Don't you know? You no steal the Middle East from the Muslim man :D

OOC: I think he changed his mind about launching nukes.

IC:

Somehow, the Icovirians had managed to scramble their entire air force to defend against the Moroccan surprise air raid. No matter.

Once the 3,000 Icovirian aircraft were detected, proceeding with the attack made no sense. Instead of proceeding on to Icovir, the Eurofighters and Su-37's assumed a holding pattern halfway between Icovir and Morocco. The B-1's also assumed a holding pattern, but they remained closer to home.

At this point, no attacks had been made. No Moroccan aircraft had breached Icovirian air space.

The Eurofighters, SU-37's, and Icovir's fighters would eventually have to return to their bases to refuel...

OOC: This seems a little whack.

I launched a surprise attack on Icovir. He says my attack hasn't taken place yet because I didn't role-play it (which I believe I did). Even though he doesn't acknowledge my attack, he is launching all his fighters and shooting nukes at me?

Why?

OOC: Don't sweat it. I don't think he is nuking you. What you did was perfect. When his fighters have to land to refuel, we can hit his air force bases just like we wanted. Then I will start my sustained air campaign.

Edit: Wanderjar, I want to attack your 30,000 men at some point. I figured I would give you the chance to decide if you still wanted to bombard my guys now that you know they are in the city before I post my attack (since you posted yours first).

Absolutely bro! And the EXACLIBER rounds will only hit military targets, as I said earlier, they have a computer chip within them that guides them with extreme accuracy to their target. They will always land within seven feet of the spot they were told too, and I would also like to add that this weapon exists. It is under test by the US Army, and works almost every time (Their are still bugs, but they're releasing it in a year or two I believe. At least thats what one of my Army buddies told me...).

anyway, yeah, drop those bad boys on your MILITARY installations. Unlike other nations, I don't hurt civillians, and don't like hurting opposition forces.

...and a final warning. My men use IWS. So sneaking up on my troops doesn't work. Therefore a Viet Cong insurgency will only result in your defeat. Just a helpful hint (Basically, use a different doctrine, because the Infiltration Assault doctrine won't work against me. The least I can do for giving me the opportunity to write back to you, instead of you merely acting.)

As previously intended, the Wanderjarian reinforcements arrived. 500,000 Wanderjarian Army troops would be decending on the beach. They immediately disperesed into the trenches, though full unloading would take at least three days....

At presicely 8:22 pm, several hundred UES combat aircraft took off from their varied bases across the Nerioian Peninsula. They had purposely not told there allies of the attack in fear that the allies would insist on sending men also, and this mission, as the UES high command knew, could cripple Icovir, or could be a tremendous loss for the UES. Squadrons consisting of 400 F-15E Eagles, 200 F-18E Super Hornets, 100 F/A-22 Raptors, 200 AV-8B Harrier IIs, 20 B-2 Spirt Stealth Bombers, 50 B-52's, 50 B-1 bombers, 6 E-2C Hawkeyes (to watch out for incoming SAM fire and jets), and 2 C-17 Globe-master IIIs (carrying propoganda leaflets), all planes carrying maximum armament, would fly along the coast of India until they reach the Arabian Peninsula. They would then go around Najm Ifagr and Mecca and hit Medina head on. They would drop thousands of bombs and missiles on various government targets within Medina. The locations of such would be detected through spy sattellite photos, of which the UES was fortunate enough to require a sattellite and launch it quite recently. After the bombing, any resistance would be destroyed (hopefully) by UES escort fighters. The planes, now low on fuel, would fly directly to Greater Morrocco, where hopefully, the Greater Morroccans can spare a few AF fields. My planes would then fuel and be on their way.

Meanwhile...
Secretary of War, well known and well liked General Franco Farrelle, slammed the door open and walked inside the new Prime Minister's office, Peter Franklin. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!?!?!?!?," screamed the Secretary of War. The Prime Minister opened his mouth to talk, when the General continued, "HOW DARE YOU AUTHORISE A MASSIVE AIR STRIKE WITHOUT CONSULTING YOUR SECRETARY OF WAR! YOU DIDN'T ALERT NERO, OR EVEN GREATER MORROCCO! WHAT IF THEY CANNOT TAKE OUR PLANES? HEH? THEN WHAT? THEY RUN OUT OF FUEL AND SMASH INTO THE MORROCCAN DESERT? AND I AM ONLY NOTIFIED RIGHT AFTER THEY TAKEOFF? I WANT YOU TO ABORT THE MISSION IMMEDIATLY!!!" The Prime Minister began, "My dear General, please settle down. I cannot and will not abort. The planes are approaching now. It is too late." The Prime Minister tried his best to keep himself calm. He figured this might happen. General Farrelle yelled in frustration, and screamed, "HOW DARE YOU! YOU IGNORANT FOOL! THIS MISSION HAS A 50% CHANCE OF BEING A TOTAL FAILURE!" The Prime Minister was quick to speak, "as it has a 50% chance of success. This could crush the Icovirians! Imagine how much the people of the Ed States would like that! Besides, this sort of air strike worked wonders in Northern Zanski. And our air force was far smaller then, too." The General, now calmed down, but still fuming, said softly, "yes, but in Zanski, the War and Defence Comittee was notified, and properly voted the campaign strategy OK for combat. You on the other hand, acted alone and authorised all of this on your own!" The Prime Minister spoke once again, "Very well. But you must see General, that if I wish to make myself known, I need a resounding victory to-" The General cut him off, "so that's what this was for? To surprise the Ed States public, make them like you, AND EARN MORE POPULARITY???" Prime Minister Franklin didn't quite know what to say. He paused... trying to think of some way to defend himself. Seeing the opportunity, the General struck again, "You come into office, literaly less than two days after the original Prime Minister is murdered in cold blood, and wish to change everything? No, minister, you can't just come into office and suddenly act as if you are the only person who's opinion matters. As it has always been, the Prime Minister first authorises his plan with the War Council. Then it goes onto the-" "Ah, I some how knew this conversation would get back to your buddy, Randolph," retorted Franklin. "Ah, yes, Randolph, and his fine, high and mighty ways, his traditional manner, yes all descriptions of Randolph...," Franklin drifted off. "From what I understand, you didn't even like or agree Randolph much while he was here." The General turned red, "well, Randolph and I had our... differences... but he is entitled to his own opinion! Although I did frequenlt disagree with him, he was still a good man, and most of all, HE KNEW HIS PLACE!," the General sneered at Franklin. The General then continued, "Randolph was a fine man, a good man. He was a decent role model, someone you should be modeling yourself after! He was a moral and unselfish man, who held his values before anything else in the world, especially his popularity!" Franklin, chuckled, then elaborated, "moral, honorable and held values high, heh? I've heard stories Franco! I am not the dumb voter here! I know what kind of man he was! Well, you must consider family values and religion not valuable at all then! A true Christian role model, indeed! If spending long hours "dictating" as he called it, to his various secretaries, is moral and decent, then you are right. Save the details that Randolph "dictated" for many hours, naked in a hot tub. Rather interesting way to dictate, alone, with a secreatry, let me tell you! Ha, he was moral indeed!" The General was shocked. He turned embarrassed again, and muttered, "perhaps he was a... bit off on certain values... but HE STILL would never have done this! I will bring this up to the Representative Commune, at once, and have you booted out of office! You can forget about office within the next few months!" Franklin smiled eerily, and said, "I mentioned popularity, not votes..." The General looked questioningly, but was still angered by the whole debate. He muttered "the Commune will have your head for this whole unauthorised mission!" on his way out the door, and ran off.

I'm also a fan of the Finnish RK-95

...though I rarely use it.
That is quite interesting. The Finnish ones look like a improved version of a AK-74. Also, the magazines are gigantic! How many rounds per magazine? And do they come in fully automatic modes?

The magazine holds about thirty rounds, and the stock is foldable. Somewhat like the AK-74 SU.

And yes, it is fully automatic, but best fired on semi due to its recoil. The recoil isn't bad, but semi beats auto any day.

And as for the XM8: It has about 30 rounds I believe, and it does have a full auto mode. Other than that, I'm not sure. I've never fired one.

OOC: This seems a little whack.

I launched a surprise attack on Icovir. He says my attack hasn't taken place yet because I didn't role-play it (which I believe I did). Even though he doesn't acknowledge my attack, he is launching all his fighters and shooting nukes at me?

Why?

OOC: I abandoned the nuke idea. I just know it's a horrible idea, though I did launch a counter-attack.

It's very late right now (11:41 PM); so I'll RP the damage/continue the attacks tomorrow.

Pudite Fleet, Coast of Hue, Fleet Operations
Even as the foreign subs were being spotted, surely even more were coming. So far roughly half a dozen enemy craft were detected, the vanguard of a fleet of some sort, it was certain. However, this was a largely trivial matter, and could be dealt with by the Dominion's own submarines, frigates, and helicopters.

As such, the main fleet began to move. Already carrier air strikes were brought down on the Icovirian fleet, and now the real battle was to begin. Abandoning their positions in the fleet-order, the Calypso class super dreadnaught, Heaven's Gaze set into motion, escorted by four Roydia class battleships, as many Helina class battlecruisers, twelve Carthage class air defense cruisers and Triara class light cruisers, as well as eighteen Portlandia class missile cruisers and Swiftsure destroyers. Escorting these larger craft were twenty Atlantia class AEGIS destroyers, fifteen Champlain class frigates and fifteen Lionfish class missile frigates.

Also accompanying the fleet would be twenty Forthar class quiet attack submarines, as escorts.

This armada was sanctioned by the High Command, and was to be commanded by a less experienced Vice Admiral by the name of Koronyets. The entire flotilla was leaving the combat zone by was of the eastern sea, and would then turn south at thirty-four knots to intercept the Icovirian Reinforcement fleet headed for Emperor Nero, and the two-million soldiers held aboard...

This conflict would be a short one, and the Dominion was sure that the war would not end here...

OOC: Guys, I'm going to take a little break from NationStates. After I post damages here, you're probably not going to see me until Monday. And no; I'm not trying to avoid damages :D

IC: The fighters screached to a halt mid-air. The Moroccan aircraft stopped and they weren't in Icovirian airspace.

The Caliph saw this as a chance to, instead of attack, defend. He ordered the remaining troops patrolling the African border to begin patrolling Icovirian Europe. Meanwhile, he deployed the Icovirian Special Forces, a mere 1,000,000 men, to guard the Middle East, particularly the State of Saud (OOC: Saudi Arabia). The Caliph's priorities lie there; he couldn't risk the Holy Cities of Islam to be destroyed because of a foolish war.

The fighters were asigned to patrol Icovirian airspace. They, too, were split up. Some patrolled the Icovirian Africa, some patrolled Icovirian Europe, and the rest (a majority of them) patrolled Icovirian Asia.

The Caliph ran his hands through his hair. Why had he decided to conquer Europe? There was enough Icovirian land to defend already...

He then made a potentialy dangerous decision. He ordered Icovirians to hide out in shelters; all Icovirians in Europe. He then aimed Nuclear Weapons, though not Hydrogen Bombs, at the major cities in Europe. It looked as if he was commiting genocide, but it was the most low measure he would have to stoop to if worse comes to worse.

The Caliph made Supplication to Allah asking for this war to end. It was not only putting stress on the Icovirian Military, people, and territory, but also on the economy. And now, most importantly, there was the threat of the Kaaba and Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi* being destroyed.

The Fleet was deployed; but its purpose changed to being on the defensive. The Caliph's decisions weren't to go on the offensive, it was to go on the defensive. His plans at conquering Emperor Nero had backfired, and now Icovir was at threat. The Caliph couldn't just pull out troops and pay his way out of this situation...

OOC: * The Kaaba and Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi are the 2 holiest sites in Islam (located in Makkah and Madinah respectively). If you were to bomb Makkah (Mecca), then Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi would be destroyed.

After several in air refueling stops, the main attack force was finally ready. 200 F-15E eagles spearheaded the attack on Medina. At dawn, as the city was waking, the F-15's dropped dozens of missiles on government and military targets in Medina. They were followed by 20 B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers, 50 B-52's, and 50 B-1 bombers, which steadily carpet bombed all known Icovirian strongholds. The escort for these craft (a remaining 200 F-15's, 200 F-18E Super Hornets, 100 F/A-22 Raptors, and 200 AV-8B Harrier IIs would flew around the massive bombing formation to provide cover for the bombers. Throughout the formation, the 6 E-2C Hawkeyes would be nestled in with the bombers, to keep tabs on damage reprts and incoming SAM fire and fighters. At the end of the formation were 2 C-17 Globe-master IIIs, which dropped thousands of pounds of propoganda leaflets, encouraging open rebelion in Icovir and anti-government statements. Now, after the bombing was done, all the UES strike force could do was wait, and hope the Icovirians didn't attack the UES aircraft as they exited the city.

The Beiraqi military was once again ordered over the border into Icovir. They would now completely take Icovirs territory pn the coast. Nearly four thousand tanks, mostly T-62A's and T-72's with a few HT-101-105's, came smashing over the border. Along with them came several hundred thousand regular and Republican Guard troops. From Kuwait, they were ordered straight down the coast up until they reached their bases in the Strait of Hormuz.

Overhead, dozens of SCUD missiles screamed into enemy positions, exploding and sending dirt and broken bodies skyward. Fifteen SuF-5 Lions took off into the sky from bases around Beiraq. Their mission was to strike any Icovirian RADAR or radio bases that had been rebuilt from the last war. Without communication or early detection, the last war was a quick victory. This one, Beiraq hoped, would be the same.

At sea, the massive Aristaqis class dreanought moved out of the Gulf and into open ocean. It, along wit its fleet of three Kristik battleships, two Hall class arsenal ships, four Slava class missile cruisers, and eight Krivak class frigates, were ordered to get to the Suez canal. From there, they would shut down trade, further damaging Icoviran war efforts.

1) Wanderjar's submarines are fighting my screens and some escorts.

2) A large air fleet is sweeping down the continent, and if nobody encounters them, I'm just going to assume you don't have any aircraft here...

3) An air fleet of the same size is bearing down on the Icovirian reinforcement fleet that had been approaching this territory.

4) An armada of surface ships and subs has been deployed to intercept said fleet, and sink the rest of it.

In Bac Lieu, the remnants of the 4th Infantry Division lay in wait for the Wanderjarian army. The were accompanied by a handful of smaller units as well as a good number of militia...

The troops were fairly bored. They had expected the Wanderjarians to take the offensive right away. Instead, they found themselves waiting a couple days while relatively little happened. The men entertained themselves playing cards and other games of chance. Gambling had long been a popular time waster in the Empire.

Of course, not everyone was wasting their time. Other units in the south were in route to Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Can Tho, & San Trang. In a couple days, they hoped to have sufficient forces in the area to overrun the Wanderjarian division with overwhelming numbers.

The division brass kept themselves occupied reviewing maps, studying troop positions, keeping track of ammunition stores, etc. Their otherwise quiet day came to an abrupt halt when a 155mm artillery shell struck division headquarters. In under a minute, it had been hit four times along with the motorpool. Men scrambled for cover, but it was too late for many of the division's top brass and aides.

As explosions rocked the city, HALO Hostile Artillery Location systems pinpointed the source of the incoming fire. Soon, the 48 PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers west of the city were firing back on the Wanderjarian artillery positions.

Meanwhile, air strikes were being called in. 24 F-15E Strike Eagles were being scrambled from Ho Chi Minh International Airport along with 12 Harriers that were scattered in the jungle east of Can Tho. Their orders were to silence the Wanderjarian artillery...

OOC: Wanderjar, I would like to get in a few attacks on your infantry division before your reinforcements arrive. My guys have pretty much been in limbo while OOC stuff got resolved. I would think in the weeks it would take your reinforcement to mobilize and travel thousands of miles, I should be able to get in at least a few attacks in on your division.

Pudite Grazskar Battalion, City of Bac Lieu, Setting up
The one-thousand men and few dozen vehicles of Colonel Ostrata's Grazskar battalion had arrived in Bac Lieu about two days ago, marching and riding in, vehicles in perfect order, men marching in step behind...

The soldiers have been in position for the past twelve hours, after having set up their sandbag and concrete wall barricades inside the city, their light armored patrols outside the city, as well as their artillery and rapid-reaction bases on the opposite edge of the city. There were ten roadblocks inside the city, each armed with a single Mekhev II main battle tank, as well as a single 90mm howitzer. Each of these roadblocks was garrisoned by a platoon of Grazskar, which was made up of four normal infantry squads, a command squad of five men, and a heavy weapons team of five men.

Along the same lines as these platoon firebases, but without a defined home or bunker, there were two platoons roaming the city, broken down into twenty five-man mission teams, each of which was armed with a single light machine gun, two standard length assault rifles, and a longer variant rifle for sniping. Some squads also carried anti-tank rockets or rocket-propelled grenades. They would skirmish, taking opposite sides of the street, two or three stories up, tossing grenades, sniping, and generally harassing the invaders.

Behind these were another three-hundred Grazskar waiting as a reserve, mounted up in Fox-class armored personnel carriers and LV-08 light vehicles. They also served as a defense to the artillery base here, armed with twenty 90mm howitzers and thirty 88mm anti-aircraft guns, as well as missile defense systems fitted to the guns.

Out in front of these checkpoints there were twenty LV-08s on patrol, each with five Grazskar contained within. They would be the first to engage the enemy as they drove into the dense urban combat that would follow.

This would not be an easy battle for the foreigners, Colonel Hywel Ostrata would see to that.

The enemy fighters had no chance from the start. As soon as they took to the skies, Wanderjarian F-99 fighters were tracking them, and as they flew to the Wanderjarian controlled land, the numerous fighter wings in the air immediately fired several long range missiles each. In the unlikely even that anything survived, they were more than ready to fire again.

"Sir, missile trails above Bac Lieu!"

"Move in, relay message, standard pattern, prepare for drop,"

"Aye, sir!", was the communal response as the ten-plane flight screamed across the clouds at mach two-point one. Following these aircraft there were two-hundred more of their kind, state-of-the-art F-78K Strakhen Sokol Air Superiority Fighters. They easily picked up the Wanderjarians on long-range radar, coordinated with ground-spotters in Bac Lieu.

The aircraft were currently residing above cloud level, presumably higher than their opponents, who were intercepting ground attack planes, nearer to, as one may think, the ground. The Pudite Air Wing, all two-hundred aircraft, were just now preparing to launch their R-77 RVV-AE long-range missiles. They would home in on the thermal images created by the foreign engines, crashing through the flimsy aircraft metal, deploying a few hundred pounds of high explosive directly into the tail of the enemy...

Following their example, three more of these fighter wings would move in on this position. Air superiority would begin here, in the skies above Bac Lieu...

OOC: Emperor Pudu has made numerous posts moving his assets south towards Bac Lieu. One of his posts detailed his aircraft fanning out to establish air superiority. There are interenational airports in Phnum Penh and in Ho Chi Minh that are within striking distance of Bac Lieu. There is also an air force base near Ho Chi Minh that should be partially functional again. All the cities marked on my map should have at least a minor airport. It seems possible to me that it is very possible for him to have aircraft near Bac Lieu (especially given tha ability to refuel during flight).

I think if anyone has cause for complaint, it is me. My defenses and attacks are being ignored often.

For instance:

My capital was attacked by bombered using cruise missiles. I take the damage. I send a small number of fighters out to chase down his bombers. My fighters are ignored.

Icovir attacks me near Bac Lieu. Fighting goes back and forth. Except for the destruction of a few tanks, it seemed like most everything I tried was ineffective or ignored. My Harrier air strike was ignored. My artillery targeting his transports was ignored. My snipers trying to pick out certain targets (like Captain Hussein) was ignored.

Wanderjar established his beachhead without even role-playing defeating my defenses. Even after most of my division left the beach for Bac Lieu, I left behind a lot of mines, some heavy machine gun crews, snipers, and mortar batteries. He still hasn't posted what forces he has in the area. Beyond what he has already role-played using (like his submarines), he could have 10,000 ships or a single tugboat for all I know.

Meanwhile, I've allowed my capital be be thoroughly bombed, my military bases to be hit, 3/4 of my 4th division to be destroyed, most of my air force destroyed (got more planes from allies though), etc.

If we are going to start playing the ignore game, here is a list of why I am going to ignore.
1. My captial was not bombed because my legitimate counterattack on the bombers was ignored.
2. There are no foreign troops on my soil. The only person that role-played trying to defeat my coastal defenses, Icovir, decided to leave.

As far as I am concerned, Icovir is fleeing with Pudu's ships and aircraft in pursuit. Wanderjar is parked near my coast. After Icovir left, my troops returned to their trenches. Pudu, Wanderjar, The United Ed States, and myself are all sending reinforcments to Bac Lieu. Greater Morocco, The United Ed States, Beiraq, and myself are all attacking Icovir's homeland.

Dang, sorry about that. I probably missed those unintentionally. But, I'll say that all those airstrikes/Ballistic Missile strikes on your military bases/airfields by me didn't happen. Deal?

1. I'll agree that your capital was not bombed since I ignored (whether intentionally or unintentionally) your bombers/counterstrikes on my forces.

2. Yes, it's true that I fled your country due to the Civil War. No Icovirians are in your country, and I have no knowledge (thus far, but remember that I have submarines) of the Pudite forces chasing me.

As far as I am concerned, Icovir is fleeing with Pudu's ships and aircraft in pursuit.

Yep, true.

Greater Morocco, The United Ed States, Beiraq, and myself are all attacking Icovir's homeland.

Dang, that stinks. I'll acknowledge it, but I will probably ignore it if some insane numbers are put out there (such as Greater Morocco suddenly acquiring 1,000,000,000 troops, or somethign absurd like that).

I know this may sound annoying, but let's start the whole invasion of my homeland again. Let's pretend that the Civil War has just ended, with Icovir shaken but not stirred (lol) and you guys just beginning to launch your attacks. I'm doing this because my responses in the past were probably screwed up and I don't know what I was thinking (and therefore forgot my strategy) while posting them.

HOWEVER, i will not acknowledge your capital/military bases as being undamaged completely unless Wanderjar does (seeing as to how he attacked those things, also).

I know it may be a pain, but please post your attacks on my homeland again. Then, I will make an IC post on it.

"Skipper!" the First Mate bellowed. "Sir, they've discovered us. I detect dozens of unknown class SSNs bearing One-Eight-Zero."

"Alright, thanks Lieutenant." The Captain said walking through the tight bulkheads that were the hall ways of a Cartagena Class SSN. "Have our Wolf Pack deploy all tubed ordinance immediately, spread of Two-Zero meters between. Fire away!"

"Aye Aye Captain! Fish in the water!"

With that, 16 torpedoes from that Wolf Pack immediately went after the enemy submarines, however, there were twenty five such groups moving in toward the enemy fleet. Due to the location of the enemy, in the Gulf of Tonken, they would be hardpressed to avoid Wanderjarian Torpedoes as the area was full of shallow areas not fit for deep water craft. Therefore, the enemy would have one choice: Brave the hails of torpedoes the Wanderjarians fired at them, or turn tail and run. However, the Wanderjarians were in great position, the area they chose to come in from was deep enough, and not enclosed, so they had ample opportunity to avoid combat with the enemy. As soon as they had marked some kills, they would be able to escape back into Wanderjarian Waters.

As the 100 Subs released 400 torpedoes, with more being loaded and primed as they spoke and as the tubes refilled, the Admiral in command of this Submarine Armada smiled. The enemy would have little chance for victory.

In the skies above, Pudite aircraft were making runs over the mountainous Central Highlands, where the Wanderjarians had yet to venture. However, that did not prevent them from detecting the aircraft, and as such readied to prepare all Anti-Air Defense systems against them. All fighters and interceptors which had not been released against the Neroians, were launched against the Pudites, which totalled to be over a hundred F-99 and F-88 fighters. These fighters with their Archangel Stealth System, would be enourmously difficult to detect, and especially so from beyond visual range. Scout frigates along the coast line had detected the enemies flyers, in addition to reports from Icovirian forces, and as such, the approximate position of the enemy was known.

As the fighters took to the skies, the Wanderjarian Intelligence Service had triangulated the known position of the enemy forces, and by the time the entire force had assembled in the air, the position of the oncoming enemy was completely known.

"All fighters, approach the enemy, and destroy with extreme predjudice. Leave none alive." Was their Commander's orders. They planned to execute.

OOC: Thank you.

Now, let me say some words; First, I'm off the coast of Hue, not in the Tonkin Gulf, which is to the north. I have open ocean to move about in.

Second; You said earlier you had fifty submarines, I remember your commander saying "We've only got 50 here" or somesuch.

Third; I have stealth systems on my fighters, as well. If you'd like I could send you the entire writeup of the system, it's too complicated to summarize here.

Fourth; Remember, I've launched torpedoes at you, too.

Ok, I apologize. I saw that you were centralized around Hanoi, so I assumed thats where your fleet was. However, do take note that Hue is very shallow, so your still very constricted (And it does not have an effectively accessible Port). So still, the restrictions do, to a lesser extent, apply. And I'll have to respond tommorrow. I have a test so major tommorrow that my life literally depends on it (No joke, if I bomb it, I lose my good grade in this class, and then my chances of getting into a good college are gone. :()

So please bare with me. (That, and I've had another family emergency. Isn't this wonderful? Some Asshole at a hospital forgot to lock the latch on the hospital bed which my Great Grandmother was laying in. She rolled off the bed, and broke the second vertebrae in her neck.

I hired the best lawyer I could find, and we're going to sue the shit out of that hospital.

Anyway, I am centralized around Hue, I just landed some Immortals there. My fleet has done its best to stay in deep water, as an intelligent fleet would, but since I didn't actually say it, some ships 'll be off in vulnerable spots along the shore.

Alright Icovir, you want to restart the invasion (and mass bombings...) here I am:

OOC: This was my attack on Icovir. It took place right after Greater Morocco's attack.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother, Wanderjar.

Elsewhere, the nation's air force bases prepared to launch a large air strike. Their targets: Icovir's air force bases. At the same time, the fledgling Moroccan fleet set course for Icovirian waters.

This would be total war. No expense would be spared. The Moroccans had waited a decade for the opportune time to strike. It was now or never.

Hey, whomever you attack, may I help? I am tired of rp's dying when I start to get really interested. And as you seem to know, after the lack of enemy participation in this one, I found it difficult to actually post something logical when the enemy didn't even seem to respond.
