OOC: The war is back on. Wanderjar is making an opening post. I'm too lazy to create one right now, so expect one from me tomorrow.

This is open due to the will of Emperor Nero.

Icovir was a trusted ally of the Commonwealth. As his interests were threatened, the already in place Wanderjarian Battlefleets stationed in Icovir became ready to move out to support him.

In his TACOPS Room, Emperor Baker sat along side numerous General Staff members plotting out ideas for this war.

"First off," Spoke the Emperor. "I have no idea what we are supposed to do."

"Neither do we sir," Replied Grand Admiral Reinhardt, now Supreme Commander of the Wanderjarian Imperial Navy.

Nodding, Baker replied, "Send a communique to the Icovirian Government. Ask them where our troops should be dedicated, and what our objectives should be. Upon learning this, do inform me and we shall continue our deliberations. That is all for now."

Emperor Nero sat on his thrown in contemplation. Various nobles stood at attention waiting for him to speak. The Emperor's word was law, and he had a number of decisions to render.

Insulting the Icovirian "emperor" might not have been his best decision to date, but Nero had no regrets. The Icovirian leader was a fool not fit to bear the title of "Emperor". Allowing his country to be bullied by a lesser nation was worthy of mockery and ridicule.

The Emperor spoke:

"There will be war. Icovir will be driven off. Their leader will be humiliated and exposed as a fraud.

These communist nations underestimate us. They expect their large armies will deliver them a quick victory. The fools think our soldiers will meet them in open battle, and be easily dispatched. That is not so. Our jungles will provide us shelter while we wage a guerilla war. Battles will be fought at the time and place of our choosing. Their superior numbers will be wasted. We will bleed them slowly of men and money. In time, they will grow frustrated, and flee with their tails between their legs.

Our soldiers will need weapons, food, and clothing. I command a 10% income tax be instituted nationwide to pay for these things.

That is not all.

I command a weapon be issued to every man capable of wielding one. Teach your villagers what they need to know to fight the enemy. Show them how to fire their weapons, set explosives, and build booby traps. Most importantly, do all that you can to inspire the common folk to fear communist occupation. Tell them of horrors they should expect at the hands of these communists. Lie if you must. Do whatever it takes to give our people the resolve to resist these intruders with ever fiber of their being.

Those are my desires. See to them immediately."

OOC:

I didn't want to muck up my Emperor's speech with troop movements and such. Here is what is going on in The Empire:

Military bases are being abandoned wherever possible in favor of hiding spots in the jungle. Resources are being spread out.
Tunnel complexes with concealed entrances are being built/dug.
Likely enemy beachheads are being mined and presighted by artillery.
Ammunition supplies are being spread out.
Villagers everywhere are being shown films about the horrors of communism. There is gross exageration.
The Empire's small air force is being shifted around. Harriers are being scattered. Runway reliant aircraft are being moved as far inland as possible.
Small arms are being distributed to the populace.

OOC: Emperor Nero, nice speech

IC: The Emperor replied to the message from Wanderjar:

Reply from Emperor Victor I of Icovir
Message: I plan to invade the scum, Emperor Nero. I wish for Wanderjarian troops to accompany my small navy in invading Emperor Nero's south shore.
The objectives of both our armies shall be to eliminate any resistence and to occupy the country. We shall split it and colonize it afterwards.

Afterwards, he appeared on all television channels in Icovir, much to the annoyance of citizens watching the "Late Show with Konan O'Mian".

"Citizens of Icovir, I come to make a short announcement today.
We have proclaimed war on Emperor Nero. The reasons are that they oppress their people, and have threatened to invade us. All able-bodied men and women between the ages of 18 and 30 are to report immediatly to the nearest recruiting center. The draft has been reinstated.
Soon, we will launch a fleet towards the scum. Granted, our forces are small, but we have the help from our long time allies, Wanderjar.
Icovir will remain victorious! INSHAALLAH, we will win!".

After the Emperor turned off the radio signal, Konan O'Mian had said "I just told you my number so you can call me to recieve 1 million Icovir Riyals! Stinks for those who missed it!".

The citizens, in annoyance, reported immediatly to the nearest recruiting center.

"Sir, nice speech" said General Josh Natock, the would-be president Vice Commander.

"Yes, it's too bad I had to lie like that, though." said the Emperor. He hated lying to his citizens.

"You're lying for a good cause, sir." said Josh Natock.

"Thank you. Now down to business. Send out the Fleet of Empress Diana. This is a war overseas, so we must have enough troops to defend our economy and homeland, and yet have enough to bring the pressure on the Neroians (?).".

"Yes sir, the fleet will be sent out right away".

Josh Natock did as he was told.

The Fleet of Empress Diana (named in her honor)
1 "Grand" Class Battleship
2 "Da Bomb" Class Destroyers
2 "Junior" Class Battleships
1 hundred "Gun-Ho" Class Gunboats
600 "Grand" Class Transport Ships (holding 2,000 men each)
20 Submarines (Crew of 20)
2 "Petit" Class Frigates (1 for anti-submarine warfare, 1 for surface-to-air missile launching)
1 "Whoosh" Class Carrier (holding 200 aircraft, 50 bombers, 150 fighters)

The Wanderjarian Forces in Icovir immediately recieved the word to deploy. They grabbed their gear, packed their equipment, and within two hours, they were loading on the ships.

30,000 Marines, supported by 1,500 K-1 MBTs and 500 Behemoth II HBTs boarded.

*I'll get the ship details to you in a bit, as I have to go.*

The small empire of Latica decided not to take part in this war as they were gearing up for a smaller engagement with the Pure Japan nation. Although they secretly prayed that the Icovir-Wanderjar forces would defeat, nay, obliterate the Puddian forces; they would also supply weapons and such to the Icovir-Wanderjar forces, secretly of course, and had their factories going at a pre-war time pace.
Emperor Nero

Once again, Emperor Nero sat upon his thrown. His Council of War filled the room, his court. There was absolute silence as generals and nobles alike waited to hear the Emperor’s words.

Eventually, he spoke:

Emperor Nero: “We will show our enemies the folly of underestimating the Empire. We will launch an attack against the Icovirian fleet in a way they will never expect. When their fleet approaches within 1,300 miles, our warplanes will strike in force.”

Lord General Talberious: “My Emperor, we have no aircraft carriers to launch such a strike, and our land based aircraft lack the range to return from such a long trip.”

Emperor Nero: “Exactly. Our pilots will not be returning. The limitations of our aircraft are well known. The enemy will not expect such an attack until they are much closer. We will catch them unprepared. Our aircraft will target their carrier and transports. Their numbers must be thinned before they reach our shores.

Lord General Talberious: “My Emperor, won’t we need our aircraft later?”

Emperor Nero: “Yes and no. Thanks to our benefactor, we have more aircraft than we can afford to keep operational. Use our Phantom II’s for this attack. They are the most expendable.

Lord General Talberious: “Agreed, my Emperor. Ordinance for our Phantom II’s is in short supply. Even if we did not sacrifice them now, they would be useless to us before long.”

Emperor Nero: “Your agreement is not required. Are my orders clear?”

Lord General Talberious: “Yes, my Emperor. Quite clear. I will see to it.”

Emperor Nero: “Talberious, be sure the pilots know to crash their planes into the enemy’s ships once their ammunition is gone.”

Lord General Telberious: “And what if they refuse, my Emperor?”

Emperor Nero: “Remind them of the price their families will pay should they fail.”

OOC: I have 200 Phantom II's from the Asgarnieu military surplus giveaway thread. All will participate in this stike. They will attack at night. Their final approach will be at a low altitude (hoping to avoid radar).

Skgorria
06-11-2006, 10:57
Fuhrerbunker, Skgorria City

"So that's the current situation sir." The young Captain finished his briefing of the Fuhrer on the current situation with Emperor Nero, he most sincerely hoped the Fuhrer was in a good mood today.

The Fuhrer appeared to sit and think for a moment, then rose out of his deep leather chair to adress the assembled Army and Air Force officials (Skgorria, being a landlocked nation, has no navy). He then rose,
"We cannot appear to be weak in this situation. I have already promised the Icovirians air support, and that they shall have. Give me options."
An Air Force Marshall spoke up,
"16th Air Army can deploy a force of Blackjack bombers. Using the Raduga Kh-55, we can potentially strike any target over 20,000 miles away. If the Icovirians allow us to use airbases closer to the target, we can bring in our Backfires as well. We could also mobilise some of our reserve Lancer bombers to supplement our firepower."
A General of the Strategic Rocket Forces was next to speak,
"Our nuclear ordinance is currently being targeted to Galation. There seems no need of it in this situation, our objective is conquest, not desolation." This statement was greeted with nods and murmurs of approval, even from the Fuhrer.
"Sir," spoke up a representative from the Skgorrian Comitee For Internal Security, "The Aussie Soldier had sent envoys asking to ally with Nero."
"WHAT?" exploded the Fuhrer, "those insolent dogs! We will crush them. Return in an hour and give me options. In the meantime, send messages to Icovir and Aussie Solider."

To: Icovir
Presently we can hit the Neroians (?) with only our long-range aircraft. If you allow us to use airbases closer, we can deploy far more to supplement your attack. We lack the logistics capability for a massive deployment of ground forces, but will send Airborne units if you let us use airbases.

"God" thought the Imperial high commanders secretary as he was let through the door into the high commanders office, "he looks like he's in a bad mood today. And indeed the high commander was, he had just recived the Skgorrian's message and was fuming. "What is the reason for this disterbance as you might know i up to my neck in work right now"? The high Commander spat at him. The secretary quivered "sir i have just recived work from our diplomat in Nero's Capital". The commander looked like he might explode "well spit it out then i havent all day". "Y y yes s sir" replied the secretary. The commander when he was angry was what he feared most above all else. "The Dentarans have sent word to Nero offering aid to the Empire". The commander looked surprised, he had thought it would be more bad news, "did they say what kind of aid" he offered in a bit more of a relaced tone. The secretary let his guard down a bit, the commander did not seem so angry any more and he was glad of it.
"Yes sir they are making preparations to deploy the Dentaran Imperial Navy's 5th Armada, carrying the Dentara 1st Holy Guardsman Legion, supported by the Dentaran 9th Naval Air Group and the Dentaran 1st Imperial Submarine Command Group". The words seemed to lift the strain from the commanders face, he almost looked happy.
The commanders mood was lightening up, if the Dentarians where offering aid shorely they would help The Aussie Soldier, they had been ally's since the Emporer had come into power. On this he dismissed his secretary "thank you, you may leave". the secretary saluted him smartly and left. As the secretary left, the commander thanked the lord for his Emporer once more it seemed like his boy hood relations had come in handy once more. As the Holy Empire of Dentara's Emporer and The Aussie Soldier's Emporer had been mates since before he had come into power.

Admiral Reinhardt stood atop the Flight Deck of the WSS Reaver, a Wanderjarian Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier. His crew, lined up for morning inspection before him awaited at ease for the Admiral to make a statement.

"Men, as we accompany the Icovirians to this new war with Emperor Nero, I want you each to remember one thing: We are Wanderjarians! No man ever stands before us without falling. When their cities are in ruins, and their Emperor begs for his life, it is we who shall be there to remove him! As this armada moves out, remember that we are unbeatable! No nation has ever defeated us at sea!" The men cheered and applauded wildly. They immediately rushed to their stations, and readied themselves for the voyage to war.

"We are about to embark upon the great crusade, towards which we have striven these many months.

The eyes of the world are upon you. The hops and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you.

In company with our brothers in arms who will fight on other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the Neroian war machine, the elimination of their Emperor's tyranny over the Neroians and all colonies owned by them.

-Dwight D. Eisenhower of the great Empire of the United States of America (with some words substituting others).

The Secretary was apprehensive as allways when haveing to talk to the Imperial High Commander, As he marched up to the Commanders door it opened and out came the bodyguards. Instintly the Secretary Drew himself up into a very smart salute, waiting for the Emporer to leave and as he was doing so he managed to catch a few words that were being said inside.
"Have you talked to the Emporer for Dentara yet sir"? the High commander was requsting. The secretary moved a little closer so he could just make out the constrained face of the High commander.
"No not yet" the Emporer said "but i am requsting a meating with him as soon as posible". And with that he departed from the office without looking back.
"sir" the secretary pronounced his entry to the office.
The commander looked up from his work and sat back in his chair "what is it this time" the commander asked with a little iritation,
"Sir i have recived word from Emporer Nero and form our spies in the Icovirian navel fleet sir" he replied hoping it would make the commander more impressed.
"well what did the Emporer say"? replied the commander
"Sir The emporer Nero has excepted our request to join him in defeating Icovirians and the Wanderjarian Armada, He requested up 20,000 men witch he will provied tranport for sir" said the secretary after taking a deep breath.
The commander thought for a moment before asking what news from the spies, "the Icovirian fleet has slowed down awaiting wanderjarian fleet sir". The commander sat for a minute before requesting to the secretay "send a message to emporer Nero, tell him that we will lend him

three legions (18,000) front line Toops,

four T-80 main battle tank squadrons (80 tanks),

and 8 Euro fight Typhoons to escort him if he will let them land on his carrier

Major Antilles walked up to a man who didn't look Icovirian. This was odd, since you can tell Icovirians apart easily and most of the fleet were Icovirians.

Major Antilles raised his hands up as if performing the Takbir portion of a Salat, and said "Allahu Akbar". This was the salute of Icovir.

The man said "What? Oh yeah" he raised his hands up for a moment and said "Alaku Makber".

"Report to your position at once, Marine" said Major Antilles, beginning to feel quesy. Was this an Icovirian soldier? Was this what Icovirians spent their taxmoney on?

He doubted it. "Watch that Marine as closely as you would watch the Holy Qur'an, Marine" said Major Antilles to the closest Marine.

"Sir".

That Marine didn't look like an Icovirian, neither...

Major Antilles had the ships slow down, and Wanderjarian forces soon caught up. The Icoviran fleet.

The Icovirians were assured of Wanderjar's weapons and how they can help Icovirians if they ever got in trouble, so the Icovirian ships returned to normal speed along with the Wanderjarians.

Just then, attacks commenced. A bomb was dropped as if from nowhere, and ISS King was on fire, with 2,000 men on board.

"Man the weapons! Man the anti-aircraft guns! Launch some surface to air missiles! Have the submarines go out in front to scout! Prepare for battle, men!" yelled Major Antilles.

He wasn't sure where it was comming from, but he was determined to stop it either way.

The ISS King's anti-aircraft gun was ready. The Marine manning it saw a bomber fly above the ISS King, and began shooting it. The bomber was on fire, and was dropping.

But not before it had dropped it's bomb.

The ISS King went up in flames at the same time the bomber did. 2,000 Icovirian Marines had just died at the hands of only two bombers.

The other bomber managed to escape.

During this chaos, Major Antilles could kill Marines without getting caught.

And he planned to do just that.

He drew his Surtur-C and began walking towards the cabin filled with the 'Marines' he saw earlier. He was accompanied by 2 other men armed with AK-108s.

This ship was filled with only Icovirians. Anybody who wasn't an Icovirian wasn't supposed to be on the ship. And those men weren't Icovirians.

He knocked on the door and said "We need to talk about your promotion".

There was banging heard inside the room, and Major Antilles decided to get aggressive.

He knocked the door down, and yelled "FREEZE!"

'This is an outrageous breach of national sovereignty and the right to free speech. Emperor Victor of Icovir, you are starting this war because someone insulted you. This is the equivalent of a second grade school fight because he called your mother fat. It's ridiculous that now people are dying and countries are going to be invaded and/or occupied because 'he hurt your feelings'. Grow a thicker skin.

'You have now lied to your people about the pretexts for war, making you no worse than a colonial power. You have also, I believe, in the past claimed to be an anti-imperialist, and you treat nations and people fairly. How then can you justify this war, wen you yourself most likely respect the tenets of free speech in your own nation? If someone criticizes your government, do they spend time in prison camps, or are they allowed to express their views in peace? if it is the former, perhaps it is your people who deserve to be liberated.

'In the past I have seen dictators massacre millions of their own people but had the international community not care thanks to a nation's right to self-determination and the supposed right to do whatever they want to their own citizens. I personally do not subscribe to this thought. I believe all people deserve the same rights from birth, free speech being a central ideal of that. You are violating the right to free speech. If I wanted to call you a coward I could and should be able to. If I wanted to insult you and everyone in your country I should be able to, without worrying about retribution. If we begin persecuting people for what they say - unless, say, people in positions of authority inciting hatespeech and advocating violence against groups of other people - we become no better than those we are trying to liberate others from.

'This entire war is bullshit and deserves to be called as such by the international community. And, since you seem to be so dead-set on invading Emperor Nero no matter what, hell-bent on subjugating an entire nation much smaller than yours because of remarks made by its ruler, I do not see you as fit to rule a nation. These are not the actions of a leader of the people or of someone in a sane frame of mind. These are either the actions of someone who has not yet hit puberty or those of someone who has lost all grip of reason and morality in their mind.

'Which category do you fall into?'

'P.S. Oh look, I made a comment that could be seen as hurtful. Are you going to begin a campaign of bombardment against my nation as well?'

OOC: It's nothing against you OOC. Really. I think you're a good guy.

'Your nature seems to contradict your nature. Is it your nature to act as you are towards us and take no action after we have said what we have said? Or is it your nature to act as you are towards Emperor Nero and invade and subjugate an entire nation for one remark by its leader?

'I see this as a clear case of double standards. When a small and weak nation challenges you and insults you, you revoke your own dearly-held tenets of civil rights and free speech for the fact that you see an easy target to seize and exploit, to show the world how tough you are and become an imperialist power. However, when a large and strong nation with allies and a strong reputation challenges you over the same affairs and personally insults you, you claim it is in the nature of your nation to turn the other cheek. To us, you turned the other cheek. To Emperor Nero, the other cheek was mounted with millions of troops.

'Hypocrisy abounds.

'We will do nothing to your nation at this time except advise you to leave Emperor Nero alone for fear of getting involved in something over your head and for all the wrong reasons. But seriously, Emperor, grow a thicker skin. If you go around declaring war over petty slights such as this, you will quickly join the ranks of other madmen throughout history.

'What possibly disturbs me even moreso than this absurd war is the fact that the international community, rather than shunning Icovir's actions, seems to have endorsed them.'

The Phantom II's descended on the Icovirian fleet with the grace of a bird of prey. Targets were selected carefully before volleys of missiles were launched. Once their missiles were away, they would surely be detected. Their first strike must leave a mark if their mission was to be a success.

The old Phatom II's did not expect to fair well once the shock of their surprise attack wore off. Knowing this, the pilots simply fired their missiles as quickly as possible at whatever ship they initially targeted, and prepared for their bombing run.

As they came ever closer to the enemy fleet, withering AA fire peppered the approaching aircraft. Explosions lit up the night sky as many planes were destroyed. Those that remained pressed on until they had dropped their payloads (gravity bombs no guidance).

By the time their bombs had been dropped, many of the Phantoms had fallen. The survivors would soon join their fallen comrades. There was no going home. These men were nearly out of fuel, so returning to base was out of the question. The order to crash their planes into the enemy fleet was given, and followed with mixed results. Some pilots complied, and did what they could to fly their craft into the nearest ship. Others guided their planes towards an enemy ship, but ejected before impact. A handful of pilots ignored the suicide order altogether, fled towards the nearest land mass, and abandoned their jet somewhere along the way.

SIC Message to Galation

The Empire is not yet prepared to conduct offensive operations against Icovir. Our first priority is the destruction of the invading forces. Once our glorious army has accomplished that task, the conquest of Icovir will be next. When that time comes, Emperor Nero may require the use of your island.

The illustrious Emperor Nero spent the $100 million you sent on women and booze, and wasted the rest. The Empire requests another $100 million be sent.

OOC: Ok, Emperor Nero. I'll just assume the attack suceeded.

IC: The attack continued for one day. Bombers flew around everywhere, and the Icovirian fleet was powerless.

Ever since the Emperor focused more on Homeland Security than the Navy, the Navy hasn't had any updates on weapons. That includes any updates on their slow firing anti-aircraft guns.

The bombers destroyed 3 ships.

ISS Hugo - 2,000 men on board. Type: Transport Ship. Status: Burning
ISS Bolt - 1,000 men on board. Type: Destroyer. Status: Destroyed
ISS Jolteon - 2,000 men on board. Type: Transport Ship. Status: Destroyed

Along with the ISS Jolteon, Major Antilles, the leader of the whole invasion of Emperor Nero, died. Captain Larcerda, the only non-Icovirian in the Fleet, was field premoted to be the leader of the invasion of Emperor Nero.

That meant that 4,000 fighting men had died. That reduced the number of men from 1,200,000 to 800,000.

The Emperor was furious about this attack.

He diverted funds from Religion to Defense (OOC: I'm kind of RP'ing my issues decision to fund Defense more).

The money he diverted, nearly all funds for religion, went into improving Icovirian Fleets.

He sent out another fleet to accompany the damaged Fleet.

This was the best fleet of the Icovirian Navy. And it was the most advanced weapon-wise.

The Vaporeon Grand Imperial Fleet
2 "Grand" Class Battleship
3 "Da Bomb" Class Destroyers
4 "Junior" Class Battleships
2 hundred "Gun-Ho" Class Gunboats
1,000 "Grand" Class Transport Ships (holding 2,000 men each)
40 Submarines (Crew of 20)
3 "Petit" Class Frigates (1 for anti-submarine warfare, 2 for surface-to-air missile launching)
2 "Whoosh" Class Carriers (holding 200 aircraft, 50 bombers, 150 fighters)
500 "Meediak" Class Repair Ships

This cost millions of dollars to afford. And more millions to afford good Naval Weaponry to stop attacks such as the last from happening again.

So, the Emperor diverted all the money from Law and Order, also.

He was, of course, a leader who doesn't hide his decisions. He immediatly informed the public of the shift in funds.

"People of Icovir:" he began. "As you all probably know, there was a massive attack on our fleet yesterday. This attack, we believe, was carried out by Neroian forces. Though this is not confirmed.

We were very vunerable during this attack. So as to make sure our fleets are defended, we sent out Icovir's largest fleet. The Vaporeon Grand Imperial Fleet.

This Fleet will accompany our damaged fleet and also our Wanderjarian allies in the effort to liberate Neroians from their oppresive government, and to quench the threat they pose to us.

This Fleet, however, will cost millions of dollars. Therefore, we will divert all the funds of Religion and Law and Order to funding this Fleet, and also to funding our attacking military so they will not be subject to such cowardly acts as Neroian forces have done yesterday.

Insha'Allah, this will be a great victory for Icovir. Allahu Akbar!".

OOC: Hmm... Ok. I'll take some prisoners.

IC: After the attack, the naval fleet continued on. They weren't to let these attacks to stop them or even delay them from destroying Neroians.

If the reason for war was initially a paradox, it wasn't anymore. This confirmed the war.

ISS Klosh's crew (ISS Klosh is a Battleship) found 10 men floating in the water. The crew tried thinking of a way to get these men in the ship, as they were refusing.

They finally got them in the ship using a lifeboat. The supposedly Neroians who carried out the attack on the ships were confined in the jailcells of ISS Klosh.

As per Icovir's anti-torture act, also known as Habeus Corpus, they weren't tortured.

Little information, however, was taken out of their minds.

The Icovirian troops learned that the attack was indeed carried out by Neroians.

Unfortunatly, however, a Neroian died before a critical piece of intel was taken out of him.

Icovirian Naval Personnel (INP): "Are the Neroians preparing to attack us?"
Neroian: "What?"
INP: "Are the NEROIANS planning to attack US?!"
Neroian: "All I know about it is that they are at the sea border, and that... Don't kill me, they forced me to do this!"
INP (To Commanding Officer): "They will welcome us as liberaters"
Commanding Officer: "Yaa Allah, what is up with the man?"
The INP looked over at the Neroian. He was jerking like crazy, obviously having a seizure.

The next moment, he was dead.

"Fellow Skgorrians, once again we march to war. Despite the efforts and disturbances going on Atopiana, we have obligations. We promised aid to the Icovirians, and aid they shall have. Sieg Heil Skgorria!"

This item of news was greeted with a mixed reaction by the Skgorrian populace. Despite having conducted a succesful annhilation of Galation, the nearby nation of Atopiana was in turmmoil. Could Skgorria afford a forgein war at such a time as this?

16th Air Army Air Complex, Skgorria

16th Air Army Air Complex was the largest set of runways in all Skgorria, being that it housed the main bombing force of the Skgorrian Air Forces. It even included a few wings of SS aircraft in its massive underground and topside hangars.

Doors rumbled open and aircraft began to come out onto the tarmac, bombers of varying types. Most of the aircraft were Tu-22M "Backfire" bombers, though there was a healthy mix of Tu-160 "Blackjack" and B1 "Lancer" bombers as well. As they took off, they headed to an RV inside Skgorrian airspace where they would meet their escort fighters...

3 X-15 planes
20 Tu-160 Aircraft
15 Tu-22M Aircraft
1 nuclear submarine
10,000 machine guns, loaded
$100,000,000 USD
And 100 old outdated airplanes, a mix of them from P-51 "Mustangs" to several P-40 Warhawks, loaded with fuel. The delivery dispatched today from the Galish port of Maldiva, expected to soon reach Emporer Nero. It has a small naval fleet escorting the load, including a Destroyer battleship, 1 nuclear submarine, an aircraft carrier, and several military helicopters.

The AUF leadership is confused - do the Galationese consider their entire nation to be 'a few bases'?

Now that we've delivered our cargo, we don't give much concern to see the fleet (we has a very small value to us) being destroyed. Nonetheless, the ICBMs hit the sub, and it sunk. IC: The Emperor thought about the issue before him.

Should he still go on to test the hydrogen bomb on the island sold to Galation?

The Emperor knew that Galation profited from the island, and also that Galation was the enemy. So he decided to do it.

He picked up the Military Hotline sitting in his office and said simply "Do the test.".

General Josh Natock understood immediatly. He prepared the bomber, and the bomber was equipped with the hydrogen bomb.

General Josh Natock would drop it himself.

It was preparred, and the bomber flew off with the hydrogen bomb attached.

He flew over the former Abandoned Isle of Icovir and released the bomb.

1) You just moved there, therefore you can't possibly have set up defense systems that would destroy a 10 kiloton hydrogen bomb.

2) Even if you did, it's 10 kilotons. You would've had to destroy the hydrogen bomb and/or plane while it was OVER the island. That still would've destroyed it.

The Vaporeon Grand Imperial Fleet(VGI Fleet) caught up with the damaged Fleet of Empress Diana.

The VGI Fleet continued on their journey to victory without any trouble.

The Vaporeon Imperial Fleet and the Wanderjarian Armada continued along without any further attacks. The Neroian attack that happened 3 days ago was devastating and delayed the landing, but the forces were finally there.

The Vaporeon Imperial Fleet began to take action.

The Transport Ships poured the troops and tanks out, and the ships useful only for seabattles began patrolling the Southern Neroian Border (where the troops had landed).

The Aircraft Carrier went along with the battleships so as to be protected. Meanwhile, 10 bombers took off to bomb the area surronding the Icovirian and Wanderjarian troops. This would make the job easier.

As backup, the 10 bombers were accompanied by 50 fighters. This was a precaution just in case the Neroians were to try and destroy the bombers.

The troops did not set up camp just yet. They had to be sure that no Neroian forces would attack them while they're making the camp, or worse, while they're asleep.

It was raining hard in the Empire. In some parts of the cities there was minor flooding. Still, the people went about their business doing this and that.

Shortly after war was declared between the foolhardy Icovirians and the Empire, Nero had wisely ordered most of the nation's military bases to be abandoned. The bases would certainly be destroyed. It would be better if little of value was there when that happened.

At the army base near Phnom Penh, the most essential materials had already been removed. A few dozen soldiers scurried about the base in their ponchos. There was still plenty to be done. When rounds from Wanderjar's mighty Dominator Cannons began to strike the compound, the men were busy loading supplies from the mess hall into camouflaged trucks.

The might of the Dominators was impressive. The first round alone destroyed four barracks. The men dropped whatever they were holding, and fled as best as they could. Most were torn to pieces as the base was demolished in just a few short minutes. Only six men, who had the good fortune to already be in a vehicle when the shelling began, survived.

Similar occurrences took place at military installations throughout the Empire. The army bases at Phan Thiet, Ban Ban, Dien Bien Phu, and Ha Tien ceased to exist. The air force bases in Kampong Thum and Hanoi were hammered causing the destruction of 2/3 of the Empire's remaining aircraft (not counting the Harriers that were hidden in one of my early posts). Those that remained would be grounded until runways could be repaired.

OOC: I am seriously considering joining this war on Emperor Nero's side because I both ICly and OOCly have a thing for helping attacked underdogs ('good' guys) and I find this entire conflict ridiculous. Probably nothing large-scale, like a massive land invasion of Icovir, but other stuff I'd rather not reveal for fear of Icovir preparing for it, using OOC knowledge to IC benefit.

What would the thread participants think of that?

OOC: You are welcomg to join as far as I am concerned.

OOC...Is that ok?

OOC: Yep, it's ok. I'll RP the beginning.

IC: The troops finished creating the bunkers and finished setting up weapons post.

The beach had no high grounds, so snipers were virtually useless in the event of an attack, unless they could find some ditches.

And that's what the Emperor ordered.

2 bombers equipped themselves with very small bombs. Enough to make small ditches without harming the troops. They did this, and there were ditches all around the beach. This helped those not in bunkers, such as snipers, to still kill and not be killed.

The Icovirian attack on the Neroians began.

The Icovirians waited until Wanderjar finished their attack. Then, 5 bombers launched from the aircraft carrier to hit the Neroian capital. If their government buildings, especially their head military building, was destroyed, then it'll make the Icovirian victory easy and quick.

Unfortunatly, the Neroians had the same thing in mind.

While the troops were preparing to move forward, as was the plan, a bullet that looked as if it came from the trees pierced Lance Corporal Dan's heart. He died instantly.

The troops, scared for their lives, began shooting back.

Since they had built trenches and weapon posts and set up weapon systems, they could enganged the OPFOR back and be prepared.

Such was the Icovirian strategy.
Emperor Nero
11-11-2006, 13:02

OOC: I hope you won't be offending if I disregard the post you made after this one (where you were setting up shop on my soil). I was real busy on Friday, and didn't get a chance to respond to the post I just quoted until now, but I do want to fight you at the beach :)

The Empire's 4th Infantry Division watched apprehensively as the Icovirian transports made their way towards the shore. The enemy ships dotted the ocean in numbers beyond what they imagined possible. How could any 20,000 men ever hope to repel such a force?

Colonel Ek Sereywath, commander of the force, looked on. He could see his men were scared, and tried to assure them...

"We are not here to die today, my friends. We have every advantage in this fight except for numbers. When they land on our beach, they will be standing out in the open in the middle of a mine field. We will cut them down with our machine guns while our artillery rains havoc upon them. When they have landed enough troops to threaten us, we will retreat through the minefield behind us, and remove the markers as we leave. They won't chase us. We will stain the beaches with their blood, then make our escape. When this war is over, songs of our victory will be sung for years to come."

A few minutes later, the first few Icovirian transports hit the shore. As the ships unloaded, Colonel Sereywath fired a flare into the sky. All hell broke loose. Across the line, men opened fire...

OOC: My men are entrenched in camouflaged positions behind the tree line. There is a mix of around 12,000 anti-personnel and anti-tank mines spread out on a three mile stretch of beach. 10 Miles behind my line there are four groups of a PzH 2000 Self-Propelled Howitzers firing on you (each group has 12 for 48 total). My men are using M-16 assault rifles, Browning 50 caliber machine guns, M60 machine guns, 60mm mortars, M24 Sniper Rifles, and a few M107 "Light Fifty" anti-material sniper rifles.

There are a lot of booby traps set in the jungle behind my line (mostly claymores and more mines). They are using orange ribbons to mark where the traps are. When my men eventually decide to flee, they will run through the trapped area and remove the ribbons as they do so.

OOC: Hey, you posted while I was writing my last post hehe. Just so you know, my guys would have attacked you right when you hit the shore. They wouldn't have waited for you to entrench and setup weapon systems :p

Also, I got to have the high ground. When you are are coming in from the ocean, there is nowhere to go but up.

OOC: No problem. Remember, though, that I have tanks >: )

IC: Icovirians walked out from the ship. One man said "This is..." and he was shot.

The fighting had began.

The troops began firing back. The hail of bullets from behind the trees kept on shooting. 20 Icovirian men and women had died within the first 5 minutes of battle.

The tanks weren't off the transport ships yet, and the troops couldn't wait for them. They would have to do at least 20 minutes of battle without the tanks.

However, the aircraft were at the ready. The Carrier immediatly had a job to do: launch and support the 10 bombers and 10 fighters that were about to engange what looked like...the trees.

The bombers launched off the Aircraft Carrier. The men still fought, and fired AK-108s, AK-74s, and Surturs at the enemy.

The Surturs had Grenade Launchers attached to them (OOC: I'll find the thread where I brought them from to confirm that) and the troops began using them.

They aimed their Grenade Launchers at the barrage of trees in front of them. They then opened fired.

All around the forest Grenades from the G.L's went off.

Then, men equipped with RPGs and GM-94s (OOC: From the Soviet Storefront under the banner of "Grenade Launchers") began opening fire on the forest.

Trees fell down everywhere. But, the Icovirians weren't satisfied until they saw blood.

The men and women with Sniper Rifles, AK-108s, and AK-74s backed up and retreated into the ship.

Meanwhile, the men and women with RPGs, GM-94s, and Surturs stayed at the Frontlines.

"Ready men!" yelled Captain Hass. "1...2...3....FIRE!!!".

The command of fire was drowned out by the sound of rockets and grenades launching towards the forest.
Emperor Nero
11-11-2006, 13:27
All the explosions were deafening. Trees were being splintered, and chunks of dirt were flying in every direction.

Already, Colonel Ek Sereywath had suffered a shrapnel injury, and a number of his men were dead or similarly injured. The Colonel turned to his radio operator, and had the corporal direct a battery to open fire on the landing craft.

"Don't let them get away!"

Also, I got to have the high ground. When you are are coming in from the ocean, there is nowhere to go but up.

Ok, I adjusted my post for that.

And nowhere but up? Dang, my troops are trapped....

IC: The bombers flew over the trees and opened their flood gates.

They disobeyed the proper method and opened fire once they reached the trees. They did not bother to fly around.

Once all of the bombers' bombs were gone, the fighters opened up fire on the forest.

There was no possible way the OPFOR could've survived this.

As the fighters were firing on the trees, a few spots had exploded.

They figured it out immediatly: mines.

The fighters quickly radioed in the ground troops.

"Do not, I repeat, DO NOT advance. There are mines they have set up, over".

Captain Hass recieved this message immediatly. He radioed the rest of the troops and informed them of what the fighters said. He then responded to the fighters and bombers:

"I want you fighters to continue to shoot around the forest while we continue launching our explosives at them. Destroy as many mines as you can, it's the only way we can advance.

Bombers: I need you to do somethign very wierd, but it may work. Load yourselves not with bombs, but with water. Then, shoot the water down all over the forest. This will destroy the mines, hopefully, without wasting any precious bombs. Over".

"Over and out.".

They followed Captain Hass' orders immediatly. The bombers began loading their arsenal with water only, and began to drop water over the forest. Meanwhile, fighters continued to shoot the trees. They will, Insha'Allah, kill the OPFOR and destroy the nades.

Captain Hass and his "Firing Squad" (as he called them) continued their barage of grenades.

The tanks then finally came out. It was time to get down to business.

11-11-2006, 13:32
As the "Firing Squad" was still launching their grenades and the aircraft still following Captain Hass' orders, a barrage of bullets began hitting the "Firing Squad".

"DANG, DANG, DANG! BACK UP, BACK UP!" screamed Captain Hass before he was shot and killed.

Captain Hussein took charge of the "Firing Squad".

He radioed in the aircraft and told them the news of Captain Hass' death. He also told them to continue what they were doing.

Meanwhile, he ordered the "Firing Squad" back. He then ordered the tanks to take charge.

As the "Firing Squad" retreated, there were no men on the Beach. Only men in tanks.

The tanks continued the job of the "Firing Squad" and opened up their tank guns on them.

OOC: My tanks are Black Eagle tanks (from the Soviet Storefront).

The Skgorrian air armada left Skgorrian airspace and headed towards the combat zone. It was nowhere near as large as the group that attacked Galation (OOC: I have too much respect to Emperor Nero to use a group that silly :p) but it was hoped that it would be enough.

Out front were a group of fighters to engage any aircraft that would rise to attack the main punch of the group - the mixed wing of bombers following behind. Two of the bombers were carrying jamming and ECM equipment to help foil enemy air defences.

One of the bombers sent out a radio message to the Icovirian fleet:
"This is Hammerfall 1 of Skgorria to Icovirian Forces, mark targets for air support"

Aircraft involved:

12 Su-37
24 Tu-160 NK-74 "Blackjack" bombers
2 Tu-160PP "Blacjack" aircraft, same airframe as bombers but carries ECM and stand-off jamming gear
12 B1 "Lancer" bombers

Captain Hussein responded to the bomber.

"This is Captain Hussein, head of this whole invasion.

We currently are pinned down, I repeat, we are currently pinned down. We cannot mark targets, but we have aircraft in the sky.

Meet up with them, and they will tell you what to do. Right now, we can't even get on the battlefield. Only our tanks ca..."

A loud explosion busted Husseins' ears.

One of the tanks had rolled over a mine and blew up.

"Understood Captain Hussein, Hammerfall 1 out". With that, the Skgorrian pilot closed the radio link.
"They sound like they're in a tight spot" his co-pilot suggested as he watched the radar for the Icovirian aircraft they were supposed to meet.
"Well let's hope our run makes a difference, we're too damn far out to be here long," the pilot cursed as he brought his bomber around to match the escort fighters: it seemed they had found the Icovirian aircraft.
"Bandit element to Hammerfall, Icovirian aircraft ahead." reported one of the fighters right on cue. Hammerfall 1 began to transmit over the radio again,
"This is Hammerfall 1 of Skgorria, we have not much fuel so time is of the essence. Give us targets so we can make a run"

OOC: Icovir, just had a couple questions...

How many people initially landed on the beach, and how many are still alive now that 20 minutes have passed for your tanks to arrive? Just curious because it would help to know how many guys were shooting at me, so I can take appropriate damage.

OOC: Originally, it was 1,200,000 men before you destroyed the Fleet. Now, the new Fleet has 2,000,000 men and women (fighting). I have 1,000 Black Eagle Tanks with only 10 firing at you now.

Meanwhile, I think I have 200 aircraft.

That "Firing Squad" was made up of 20 men.

"Understood, beginning our run. Hammerfall 1 out." After finishing talking to the Icovirians, the Skgorrians quickly communicated to each other what was going to happen - they were to strafe the treeline on the beach.

First 3 Su-37s dove down to the treeline and with their cannons, shredding many trees. Next came in the squadron of B1s, loaded to the brim with Mk-82 general purpose bombs. Staying higher than the Su-37s, they began to release their bombs as the Tu-160s formed up for their run...
Emperor Nero
11-11-2006, 14:20
Along the front line, firing became sporadic as men took cover. It seemed as though bombs were bursting in every direction. Colonel Ek Sereywath was unsure how many men he'd lost, but if the whole line was taking this sort of pounding, it had to be at least a few hundred dead and wounded.

His division had been issued precious few Stinger Anti-Aircraft missiles. He didn't want to use them all in his first engagement, but something had to be done and now.

His radio officer went to work contacting the anti-aircraft crews. The next few planes trying to fly close air support would be in for a nasty surprise.

Meanwhile, artillery batteries far behind the line continued to pound the Icovirian positions as best as they could.

OOC: Regarding dropping water on the mines. That wouldn't set off my magnetic fuse anti-tank mines, but it probably set off quite a few claymores with tripwires. I'm going go with 1/3 of the anti-personnel mines behind my position have been set off prematurely.

I’ll probably use about 20 Stinger missiles here. They will try to spread them out, and won’t spam a single aircraft.

Skgorria
11-11-2006, 14:31
The Su-37s saw a stream of missiles race towards them and tried to bank away but without great success. Two of the fighters were destroyed outright and one was so heavily damaged by explosions that the pilot was forced to eject.

The last of the B1s finished their run and climbed up back to the fighter escorts - they would head back to Skgorria now as their fuel was low.

Now it was the turn of the Tu-160 element. 26 Tu-160s attacked at a higher altitude and emptying their bombs all over the treeline, forgoing any fighter support after the destruction of 3 fighters.

OOC: the 12 B1s are heading back to Skgorria with 3 Su-37s. 26 Tu-160s are currently attacking the treeline. 6 Su-37s are running CAP and 3 Su-37s have been destroyed

The colonel was getting frustrated. The enemy's air strikes were taking their toll. He had made sure his men dug their foxholes deep, but he was sure many men had been lost. That was for sure.

Now, the Icovirians had landed tanks. Hopefully, the anti-tank mines would do their work. If not, perhaps their M-72 LAW anti-tank weapons would do the trick.

His men would continue to fight on a bit longer, but he could see morale was wavering.

OOC: Firing Stingers at any low-altitude aircraft until the 20 missiles I am willing to expend are gone. Howitzers and M72-LAW's are being fired at the tanks.

A fighter flew down low to the trees, and was snagged out of the air.

"Fighter B Charlie to Captain Hussein: They have Anti-Aircraft Weaponry! I repeat, they have anti-aircraft weaponry!".

Captain Hussein responded immediatly: "Dang. We're gonna need some suicide fighters.".

Immediatly, a whole squadron of Fighters and Bombers responded. "We'll do it sir.".

Captain Hussein responded quickly: "Good. I need you to just fly right to the forest closest to us and continue to shoot and bomb that part of the forest. If you are shot, aim your burning plane right to the place where the bullet came from.".

"Yes sir.".

A bomber was the first to do this. He bombed the specified part of the forest, and presumed that many were dead. He was shot down, and his aircraft was burning. He aimed the burning bomber right to where the munition had fired from, and flew right into that spot.

And many fighters followed his example.

The tanks followed his orders, and there were no more Icovirian forces fighting.

Captain Hussein raised the white flag on the his Transport Ship and hoped the OPFOR could see it.

He yelled out of his bullhorn "We surrender!".

He would try and negotiate if the enemy agreed to it. It was his only option...

He didn't want to do this, but it was for Icovir. For the Caliphate.

The Colonel tried to radio the 2nd infantry brigade, to see what they could do about the enemy tanks. No response.

"That does it"

Unguided munitions, both cluster and regular, fell to the ground and exploded in a massive firestorm, the bombers sweeping the treeline with fire following in their wake.

Soon they had finished their run, and the Tu-160s met with their fighter escorts. Glancing down at the effects of their run, many pilots and crew truly believed nothing could be left alive at the treeline.

"Attention Icovirians, we are heading home due to lack of fuel and munitions. Good luck, hopefully we'll see you soon. Hammerfall out." The bombers and fighters headed for home...

The bombers and fighters left a wide path of destruction before they left. Trees and men alike were cut to ribbons by the straffing runs. Large patches of land were left devoid of vegetation from the bombing runs. Numerous circular fires still burned.

Major Rangsey made his way slowly to meet the Icovirian soldier. He carried a metal detector, and scoured the ground before each and every step. Halfway there, he stepped on a wooden mine, and blew off both of his legs.

The Colonel was not pleased.

"Bring me a bullhorn!" he yelled to nobody in particular.

They complied, and one soldier brought Hussein's weapon. They began opening fire once more on the forest, this time knowing where the enemy was.

The tanks then came out behind the Icovirian "Firing Squad". They began opening up their Artillery Guns and Tank Guns on the ame spot.

Meanwhile, the bombers and the fighters had to go back for more fuel.

The Aircraft Carrier would take too long, and it would either be vunerable, or take the Battleships with it. That would be too dangerous for either the Carrier and the ground troops being protected from the sea by the Battleships.

The bombers used the last of their fuel to reach Icovir. They rearmed with bombs (even though there were many on the Carrier) and fuel. They then made their way back to Emperor Nero to open up their bombing raids once more.

OOC: I managed to weasel my way out of going to my sister's lamo soccer game, so here we go...

The worst was over for now. The enemy's aircraft had left the theatre. Now it was time for the Empire to enjoy a bit of air superiority.

Colonel Ek Sereywath smiled broadly while his radio operator gave the signal for the Empire's precious Harriers to take to the sky. 32 Harriers took off from their hiding spots in the jungle. Help was on its way.

The enemy's tanks were inflicting a lot of damage, and needed to be dealt with right away. All artillery batteries were directed to fire at the tanks' positions. M-72 LAW's were being fired at the tanks in great numbers as well.

Snipers figured Captain Hussein was someone important, and began to target him with extreme prejudice along with anyone carrying any sort of anti-aircraft weapons.

Between the bombers, grenadiers, and tanks; a hole was forming in the center of the Empire's line. The 3rd brigade was ordered to abandon their withdraw in favor of filling the hole.

OOC: I have a whole lot of M-72 LAW's. So I don't have to keep repeating myself, just assume your tanks are coming under fire from then (as well as my artillery).

Captain Hussein ordered the tanks to go back into the Transport Ships. They were being destroyed by anti-tank weaponry.

He ordered the "Air Squad" out. They were equipped with Anti-Aircraft weaponry.

He also then ordered the bombers to bomb some ditches into the sand so as to help the Icovirians take cover from some of these attacks.

Captain Hussein began to fear the worse. What if this war must be won with nuclear weapons?

16th Air Army, Primary Launch Complex, Landing Strip 1

The last of the Tu-160s touched down after returning from the bombing mission in Nero (Is that the name of your nation?) and taxied along the runway until it reached one of the many ramps that lead underground to where some of 16th Air Army kept their aircraft. The remaining Su-37s had landed at another landing strip at the complex, and many of the ground crew were saddened to see the loss of 3 aircraft. Pilots and crew were taken in for a quick debriefing, as the Fuhrer desired to know the situation.

Skgorria City, Fuhrerbunker

Using photos from a Skgorrian spy satellite, a General briefed the Fuhrer on the progress of the landing.
"Our aircraft bombed this line of trees here" the official gestured with a laser pointer to the photo. "We flew in 3 fighters before our first bomber squadron and sadly lost all 3, though reports indicate one of the pilots may have ejected."
"How likely is it that he is still alive?" asked the Fuhrer, leaning forward from behind his desk.
"Not very," the General shook his head, "if he is then he'll either be in a forest full of hostiles or on a landing beach being subjected to an intense bombardment."
"What is the impact of our strike?" the Fuhrer moved on.
"Urm...that's hard to tell sir. As far as we know the Icovirians are still on the beach, but the first line of defences has taken a severe pounding. Our satellite photos are rather poor, so I suggest we send an SR-71 wingpair to investigate the surrounding terrain," the General suggested.
Nodding, the Fuhrer gave his assent. "Make it so, and have 16th Air Army maintain a squadron of Blackjacks ready at all times. Arm them with cruise missiles rather than bombs. Go."
"Jawohl mein Fuhrer!" the General gave the Roman salute and executed an about-face then left, leaving the Fuhrer to consider what he would do next...

16th Air Army, Secondary Launch Complex, Landing Strip 4

On a rarely-used runway, two SR-71 aircraft were being readied for a mission. The pilots would be briefed in the air...

Wanderjarian Marines began boarding landing craft, and made their way onto the shore. 30,000 Marines, supported by hundreds of their K-1 MBTs would land and immediately assist in creating a defensible perimeter around the Icovirian beachhead.

F-88 Stealth fighter/bombers would begin launching raids on enemy outposts and concentrations as soon as night decended upon the land. These fighters had seen extensive combat throughout the world, and were some of Wanderjar's best pilots of the 152 Fighter Bomber Squadron.

The Intrests of their Icovirian Allies would be defended.

You have not yet lost this war, nor shall you. The Dominion stands with you. The 7th Army Group has been mobilized to support your defense, while in our navy, the 6th and 7th General Purpose Fleet Groups have been readied to escort the transports. We can aerially insert further soldiers as soon as you require them.

The Constitutional Monarchy of the United Ed States, after a proposal by the Prime Minister, and a 2/3 vote yes in the Representative Commune, wishes to send troop and equipment support to aid Emperor Nero, in his noble defence against the evil Communist forces. Upon your acceptance, armies will be transported in, paratroopers will be flown in, and top priority, Special Operations soldiers specializing in unconventional warfare (which is what it appears you wish to use against the commies judging from some of your first posts) will be flown in to the brave nation of Emperor Nero.

Signed,
United Ed States Prime Minister Randolph

Prime Minister Randolph,

The illustrious Emperor Nero wishes to inform you that your military assistance is desired. Whatever aid you send will be received with gratitude.

Be advised the Empire's air force bases are currently not operational. A number of civilian airports and coastal ports will be made available to expedite your arrival. You should also be warned our enemies have a great deal of aircraft in the threatre. We urge you to bear this in mind as you attempt to transport your fighting men into the arena of battle.

Good day,
Mr. White

As he read this letter, Nero's face turned red with anger. How dare someone suggest his army was doomed to be defeated? His ego was bruised. He hated that any would doubt his ability to deliver victory to the Empire. In time, he settled down and penned the following response personally:

"Mr. White,

It is true that my grand Empire is unjustly under attack. Even now my army is engaged against communist conscripts on our beaches.

I have no doubt my Empire will drive these invaders back into the sea. However, assistance from your nation would certainly expedite our victory and save the lives of many of my servants. Your assistance is desired.

Be advised my air force bases are currently out of commission. My civilian airports and coastal ports will be made available for your arrival.

- Emperor Nero"

Having to swallow his pride hurt. Perhaps his concubines would make him feel better...

The Consitutional Monarchy of the United Ed States knows of the risks, and wishes to go ahead anyway. As far as airports, a huge part of UES combat strategy has to do with air superiority. This will be impossible to achieve if we don't even have a runway to take off of. Is it possible for you to designate one runway atleast solely to combat aircraft?

As far as troops, please give us a place to land our fighting men. C-17 transports are en route to the land of Emperor Nero, carrying the 1st Paratrooper Regiment (about 1,000 men), where they will be air dropped into a secure location near the Icovirian beach landing area. They will immediatly meet up and aid the Neroian forces there. Throughout the night, C-17's will make round trips to pick up the 1st Army (of about 171,500 men) to assist in the defence. Because of the size of the army however (several hundred Abrams tanks, many troops, various artillery emplacements), the men cannot be expected to be completely flown in for atleast a 24 hour period. Soon, a fleet will be mobilized as well. Our 2nd Air Corps (several F-15, F-16, F-22, and F-18 fighter wings) will begin flying escort missions to prevent the attack of our incoming C-17's. We can only hope the enemy doesn't attack our incoming men...

Now the the Wanderjarian Naval Aviators were bombing the Neroians (Sorry if you don't like that term, I'll change it if so) incessently, the Cartagena Class SSNs stationed with the Wanderjarians began firing Tomahawk Cruisemissiles into enemy troop centers and bases which had been located by one of dozens of Spy Sattelites, one of these would pass over Nero every few hours.

Dozens of Tomahawks took to the skies, and these were subsequently followed by another volley, 48 Tomahawks in all.

About 50. I have two Carriers with this Battlegroup, and each carries 150 aircraft. 125 Fighter bombers, 10 support aircraft (Cargo planes), 5 helicopters, and the others were fighter bomber spaces, but they were destroyed in the Icovir-Beiraq war, and I haven't replaced them yet. So eventually, five more fighters are coming.

Two Skgorrian SR-71s flew across sea towards the Neroian beachead at extremely high altitude.

"Here we go," the pilot of one of the SR-71s prayed and flew over the beachead. Both craft were at using their high-definition cameras to take many pictures from an altitude of 20,000 metres in the hope that this would provide a detailed picture of the Neroian defences. Soon the SR-71s were gone and heading back to Skgorria, the only evidence of them ever having been there was a sonic boom.

Meanwhile, the next wave of bombers was being readied, and it was bigger than the last...

OOC: Hope you don't mind Nero, its just that I figured if you didn't attack high altitude bombers then you wouldn't be able to attack a plane that the USSR was never able to shoot down :p

The Caliph smacked himself on the head. Why hadn't he thought of this already?

He decided that it was time the Battleships begin working.

He sent an urgent message to Captain Hussein.

From: The Caliph
To: Capt. Hussein
Message: I want you to command
those Battleships to begin their
work on the land. Order them to
use their ballistic missiles to strike
inward. Order them to strike the
area where the enemy is most concentrated
and also in the major cities. I then want you
to order those submarines to go around to the
Northern Border of Emperor Nero and do some
stealth attacks there. After you order the Ballistic
Missile attacks, I want you to order all the
Transport Ships, filled with troops, to the
Western Border of Emperor Nero. BUT, have
the Wanderjarians continue fighting the Neroians (?)
on the Southern Border. It will look like we're
retreating when really we're flanking them.

Captain Hussein followed his orders. He immediatly told everyone what to do, and they did it. A Ballistic Missile fired off from one ship, and the plan had launched.

The Ballistic Missies, 15 of them fired from different ships and some submarines, were aimed for the forest in which the enemy was attacking from and some major cities, such as the capital.

After those Ballistic Missiles were fired, submarines were ordered to the Northern Border to attack any ships helping the Neroians (?) and to destroy all harbors and places where ships could dock.

Then, Captain Hussein radioed the Wanderjarians and told them to continue to fight here. He told them of the plan.

Captain Hussein then got in his Transport Ship, along with all the troops getting into theirs', and they headed far out to sea until the enemy could not see them. They then took a hook and headed for the Western Neroian (?) Border.

Captain Hussein and the Caliph could only pray that this would work...

Fuhrerbunker, Skgorria City

The Fuhrer was busying himself in his office with reports of disturbances along the Atopian-Skgorrian border due to the coup in Atopiana. Just as he was reading a report of a border skirmish his door was knocked and one of his bodyguards entered, carrying a sheet of paper.

"This just in for you sir," the young solider handed the Fuhrer the paper, which the Fuhrer took in his right hand.
"Thankyou Servchenko, Skgorria Prevails."
"Skgorria Prevails sir" saluted the SS man before about-facing and leaving the office. The Fuhrer began to read the message...

So, a message from the Icovirians...a strike on the western border...a bold plan indeed...surely the Neroians will be overwhelmed.

The Fuhrer began typing his own message to the Caliph (Secret IC so no spying plz :p):

From: The Fuhrer of Skgorria
To: Our illustrious allies, Icovir
Message:

We would be honoured to help you strike a blow against the Neroians, even now I am readying 4th Air Fleet for a massive strike against the Western Border. We need data and locations for a strike, can you provide us with these?

The Transport Ships arrived at the Western Border after a day without fighting. Captain Hussein said the simple words: "This is it". They then got off the Transport Ships and stepped onto a beach.

They began building trenches and setting up weapon systems. After they were done, the bombers would do an airstrike while the Ballistic Missiles from the Battleships would once again strike the Neroian (?) land.

Skgorrian Airspace, Skgorria

The last plane of the Skgorrian strike force had been launched and were forming up. The force was similar in composition to that which had launched a strike on Neroian soil, but except it was much larger in terms of numbers. A full 10 wings of Tu-160s were escorted by 5 squadrons of Su-37s and they would head over the sea towards the dominion of Emperor Nero.

The men were finished building their trenches and setting up their weapon systems.

It was now time for the Icovirians to attack and win this battle.

The Battleships prepared their weapons, and they began firing Ballistic Missiles at the city. Although, some were aimed towards the capital city.

The bombers began bombing the city, also. 10 bombers took off from the Aircraft Carrier and began their bombing run.

The plan was for the Icovirians to take this beach and city, and then flank the Neroians (?) fighting the Wanderjarians in the South.

The Skgorrian air armada approached within 2,000 miles of the city that was to be targeted, still remaining over the sea.
"Hammerfall 1 to Nest, request confirmation of firing orders" There was a short pause whilst the co-ordinator back in Skgorria checked his orders before replying
"Nest to Hammerfall 1, fire at will"
"Hammerfall 1 to all elements, fire in order"

With that, the lead squadron in the column of Tu-160s volleyed their Raduga cruise missiles and kept firing them until their weapon bays were empty before banking away and giving the following bombers a clear shot. This was repeated until all 10 squadrons had fired and they flew back to Skgorria, still with their fighter escort.

OOC: 120 bombers fired 6 cruise missiles each (they can hold 12, but I'm halving the load on the grounds they're at maximum operational range and would nead to conserve fuel. The city has just had 720 cruise missiles fired at it.

The bombers flew over the ground troops setting up positions on the Western Beach.

"GET SOME, BOYS!" yelled one, over-excited Marine. It was clear that he had never seen battle before this.

Followed by his excited cries, loud sounds were heard. Fire then creeped its way above the treetops.

It looked as if the bombers met no resistence.

Captain Hussein wanted to make sure that troops wouldn't die needlesly. However, they had to work fast as they had made their presence known with the Ballistic Missile strikes and the air bombers' raids.

Captain Hussein ordered a full out Ballistic Missile strike on the capital of Emperor Nero. He ordered for 20 Ballistic Missiles to be aimed for the capital.

Expecting help from the Skgorrians, he commanded that the tanks lead the way towards the city and that the troops followed. They made their way towards the city.

Captain Hussein assumed they had just taken the beach.

Pudite Prefecture One, Naval Compound One-Thousand Five-Hundred and Seven, The Gathering Storm
Off shore of the massive, grey concrete compound, spanning one-hundred and fifty kilometers in every direction, was the entirety of the seventh General Purpose Fleet Group, that is, well over three-hundred combat ships and many more hundreds of aircraft and landing vehicles. Resting beside them were hundreds more ships, gigantic cavernous transport craft resting alongside their smaller destroyer escorts. Beyond them was the final compliment to this fleet, a pair of Submarine Battle Groups waited on the surface, refueling and loading supplies. The great fleet gleamed, every ship painted in the purest white, shining as the light of the sun glinted off their heavily reinforced sides into the reflective glass of Fleet Admiral Basa Gornostai. Of course this was not his operational tag, but all officers leaving the Dominion were issued such a name to facilitate foreign contact.

He stood in the seaside officer's tower of the compound, watching the two-million Strelkovy infantrymen of his seventh Army Group was loaded onto the four-hundred troop transport ships floating before him. In seven days his thousands of ships would be up against the shores of the nation led by Emperor Nero, a man their government had entered this war to protect. He knew why this war was being declared, it was not a defense of an unjustly attacked nation, nor was this the more common attempt by their own Emperor to add further territory to their growing Empire. No, this was a war for war's sake. The Dominion had fought Wanderjar before, and Icovir was no ally of the Dominion either.

The urgency of the situation could not be conveyed by the week long ship's journey to Nero's country, however, and as such special actions were taken. Colonel Hywel Ostrata, an experienced man, having fought in Chitzeland for the last year and a half, was chosen to lead this advance expedition. Hywel Ostrata was not an average soldier, not even by the Dominion's genetically enhanced standards. Ostrata was one of the Grazskar legionnaires, the heavily modified warrior-fanatics of their Emperor. Standing seven feet tall and carrying shoulders three feet wide and a body completely encased in silver and grey steel armor, covering a black mesh underlay. The man weighed well over four-hundred pounds, he was a terrifying image of what this Dominion was capable off...

This man, leading one-thousand and ninety-nine of his compatriots, would be transported to the front lines of this newest Dominion war, and in fact he was on his way there now, flying aboard one of the constantly airborne Air Patrol and Light Involvement air fleets. This fleet consisted of fifty light vertical take off and landing transport aircraft, fifty further gunships of the same design, escorted by one-hundred of the Dominion's F-41A multi-role vertical take off and landing fighters. This force could be over the home of Emperor Nero in hours, where they would put down and deploy their troops...

Hefting his Class II 8.12x38mm assault rifle, Colonel Ostrata tensed himself as he felt a needle enter his upper arm, injected by his suit, providing him with the required nutrient boost to keep him moving for the next hour... The air fleet had just crossed the border of the war-torn country, crossing opposite the worst fighting. In one hour, expecting no trouble, and touch down near the capital city of the country. Unloading from this armada would be, barring any trouble, again, eleven hundred Grazskar Legionnaires, sixty LV-08 light infantry vehicles and the thirty 90mm gun/howitzers and as many 88mm multi-purpose anti-aircraft guns, supported by twenty Lynx class air-assault armored personnel carriers and ten Mekhev II class advanced main battle tanks.

They would immediately mount up and set off for the area of greatest resistance, that is, the area of concentration by Icoverian and Wanderjarian forces, an area where the former was preparing for their naval assault and the latter had actually landed... Both situations needed to be remedied.

The Dominion had entered the war...

In response to all of these damn cruise missiles being fired at Emperor Nero, the UES 4th Missile Command Division is being deployed to Emperor Nero. The 4th Division carries hundreds of Patriot missiles with appropriate transportable launch tubes. Patriot missiles, as some may already know, are capable of locking onto and usually destroying any air target, wether it be aircraft or cruise missiles. They will take a while to deploy, but once they arrive in Emperor Nero's homeland, they will prepare and blow about 90% of all enemy cruise missiles to hell. Happy Shooting, and Long Live Emperor Nero!

OOC: Where we last left off (when I posted last at least), Ivocir and Skgorria’s bombers and fighters had performed their bombing runs, killing many of my men. I ordered my snipers to target Captain Hussein and any men wielding anti-aircraft weaponry to pave the way for an attack by 32 Harriers (need damage from that). I am assuming those things have occurred, and that Ivocir’s bombardement (and all the other attacks are now taking place).

IC:
Colonel Ek Sereywath’s men had taken a beating at the hands of the many air strikes conducted on their position. The dead littered the ground, and the anguished cries of the wounded could be heard across the line.

With all the bombardment that had taken place, it was hard for the Colonel to see the effects of the Harrier attack with all the smoke. It didn’t matter though. When the Icovirian fleet started bombarding the coast with their heavy guns and cruise missiles, it was plain to see it was time to depart.

Colonel Sereywath ordered a general retreat. Across the entire line, men abandoned their positions, and fled through the mine fields to their north. The last retreating units removed the markers identifying the dangerous areas as they ran. Leaving their fortified positions under fire was a risky proposition. With no shelter, many were killed as they fled the bombardment. The seriously injured and dead were left behind.

Roughly a hundred men remained behind to provide cover for the retreating division. Over the three mile line, a dozen men with sniper rifles and sound suppressors fired on the Icovirians from concealed positions. They would target officers and men bearing heavy weapons. The other remaining men consisted of two men crews working 44 Browning 50 caliber machine guns. Much further behind the line, the howitzers kept up their fire. Soon they would be out of shells, and would change positions themselves.

Colonel Sereywath himself suffered another injury during the retreat when a heavy tree branch fell on him. He couldn’t move his legs, and was being drug on a makeshift stretcher. He remained in charge for the time being. Once his forces cleared the mine field, he ordered his remaining men to move five miles east towards the nearest city, Sac Lieu. If the enemy wanted that port, his men would engage them in a bit of urban guerilla warfare.

OOC: Coming up next: Wanderjar’s bombers.

OOC: Wanderjar, your forces that landed with Icovir's will be unopposed except by the same 100 men and artillery fire I mentioned in my last post...

The Empire's military had nothing that could detect much less match Wanderjar's stealthy fighter/bombers. The fifty aircraft had free reign over the entire nation.

The Empire's military bases came under fire once again. Wanderjar's fighter/bombers went to work completed the task their dominator cannons had started. The Empire's six air force bases we bombed with impunity. Runways were cratered, and a great number of the Empire's precious few remaining aircraft were destroyed.

A number of radar stations were targeted leaving large gaps in the Empire's radar coverage.

In the capital of Ha Noi, the Defense Ministry building was struck. The building's west wing was demolished, which killed many senior military planners in the process.

Confirmed Damage:
4 Radar stations destroyed
4 Harriers destroyed (your satellites found their hiding spots)
16 Su-37’s destroyed
2 E-3 Sentries destroyed
4 C-17 Globemaster III’s destroyed
2 C-130J-3D Hercules destroyed
1 Military supply convoy partially destroyed
8 M109A6 Paladins destroyed
1 Military command center damaged

Despite the war, it seemed like a pretty typical day in Ha Noi. It was raining as usual. The men were working hard at work in the capital's many factories while the women filled the marketplaces shopping for fresh produce.

Little did they know, the Skgorrian air force was about to rain havoc on their fair city...

Around 2:14 in the afternoon, the air raid sirens filled the city with their dire warnings. Men rushed out from their factories, to peer into the sky. The marketplaces descended into chaos as people ran in every direction.

The first missile struck a power relay station on the west side, which immediately plunged 1/6th of the city into darkness. In a matter of minutes, the sound of bomb blasts filled the city as hundreds of missiles found their targets...

By the time the strike had concluded, there were hundreds of fires burning in the capital. Firefighters and other emergency responders had more work than they could handle. Citizens throughout the city answered the call for help. Every effort was being made to stop the burning of the city, but efforts were being hampered by the fact 1/4 of the city was without water.

The city still survived, but it would be a long time before the damage that had been done could be repaired. A scar had been left on the capital, one Emperor Nero would not soon forget.

Damage:
1/4 city without water (will be restored in 2-5 day)
1/2 city without power (will be restored over 1-5 days)
2 television transmitters destroyed
4 radio transmitters destroyed
3 mobile phone towers destroyed
Ha Noi International Airport damaged
Emperor Nero's personal residence destroyed
Capital building damaged
5 AA batteries destroyed
2 Radar stations destroyed
Defense Ministry building destroyed
Many other government & civilian structures damaged or destroyed
Tens of thousand of civilians and government employees killed & injured

16 Su-37's (all I can get off the ground atm) loaded for air-to-air combat took off to give chase to these intruders. With any luck, they would be able to claim some amount of retribution for the destruction of their capital.

Location: Nha Trang (population: 600,000)

The bustling port city of Nha Trang had long been known as a popular vacation spot. People from around the Empire flocked to this gorgeous city year round to frolic on the beaches, gamble, and visit its notorious red light district.

Today, things were much different. As the Icovirian fleet was observed sailing east from Sac Lieu, port cities were abandoned as the fleet approached. When the fleet passed, the people would return to their cities.

When the Icovirian fleet began to land its soldiers on the beaches, most of the women and children had already fled to Pfan Rang or Tuy Hoa. Many of the men had gone with them, but several thousand remained behind to join in the fighting.

Given the neighboring air force base and the reasonably large population of the city, there was a significant military presence waiting to wage war in the city. Here, the Empire was prepared to put up a might fight.

The landing zone was a bit different than that of Sac Lieu. Sure, there were beaches, but beyond those beaches were buildings not jungle.

Like before, the beach was rigged with a variety of mines. Magnetic fuse anti-tank mines were a popular choice. For killing infantry, a mixture of claymores, bouncing bettys, and wooden PMD-6's were in place.

This time, only two brigades protected the beaches. The first brigade occupied a 8 kilometer long trench situated 250 meters from the water line. These men wielded a 1,200 M16-A4 Assault Rifles, 200 Browning Heavy Machine Guns, 125 M-60 Machine Guns, and 25 MK-19 Automatic Grenade Launchers. Every M-16 Rifleman was also issued either a RPG-7 or a SMAW.

The second brigade was positioned 250-750 meters behind the first brigade. They occupied rooftops, balconies, and pretty much any building with a window overlooking the beach. These men wielded 950 M-16-A4 assault rifles, 100 51mm mortars, 50 M107 "Light Fifty" anti-material sniper Rifles, 300 M24 sniper Rifles with sound suppressors, 100 Browning heavy machine guns, and 100 M-60 machine gun. Like the first brigade, every M-16 rifleman was issued either a RPG-7 or a SMAW.

Paladin Self-Proplled Howitzer batteries were positioned to the north, south, and west of the city. Altogether, there were nine batteries consisting of eight howitzers each (72 total). Leary of coastal bombardment by battleships, a number of HALO hostile artillery locators had been setup around the city. If Icovir's battleships used their big guns to destroy the city, the Paladins would be able to strike back provided the battleships were within range.

In total, two whole infantry divisions and a number of smaller armored units occupied the city. Excluding the two brigades defending the landing zone, the infantry split up into their squads. They would wait until the Icovirians made their way into the city, and relentlessly assault them with one ambush after another. Also scattered throughout the city were 50 Centauro B1 tank destroyers and 300 Challenger II main battle tanks.

Meanwhile, a mechanized infantry division began moving from Phan Rang to Nha Trang.

OOC: My brigades consist of 2,000 men while my divisions have 20,000. Also, I should warn you that Nha Trang actually has some AA defenses. Sorry if this post was mostly technical mumbo jumbo. I'll do some character role-play when the fighting starts. I was mostly trying to describe my defense.

Pudite Arrival, Airborne Soldiers in Ha Noi, Fleet Approach in Pacific
The first Pudite boots hit the hard steel grates of the makeshift airfield outside Ha Noi, laid out by paratroopers earlier today. In all, one full battalion of Grazskar Legionnaires were deployed, as well as a single company of Immortals, the first time such holy warriors had ever left the ground of the Dominion. In command of this elite operation was Colonel Ostrata, standing now on the hood of his LV-08 command vehicle, watching as the last of his fifty light transports touched down...

There was a squad of tanks moving up the far side of the airfield, preparing to position themselves inside the jungle there, where they would switch off and allow cooling mechanisms and simple visual camouflage to mask their positions until such a time as the battalion was fit to move. Closer than that, however, was the formations twelve squads of LV-08 light infantry vehicles, a small, fast-moving armored truck that had served extremely well in its baptism of fire in Chitzeland, and would continue to do so here... Half of these squads were occupied with towing the battalion’s thirty eighty-eight millimeter anti-aircraft guns to the perimeters of the airfield, while the other half was busy watching the sky, covering the men below with their anti-aircraft missile turret options...

Meanwhile, the one-thousand Grazskar Legionnaires of 6th Battalion here were bust taking up positions ordered into perfect ranks, standing at attention divided into the battalion's five composite companies of men. They stood unmoving, utterly silent and without any hint of life, no flesh could be seen, they were towering hulks of steel and black mesh, with their soulless blue eyes peering out from beneath a think polished helmet...

Worse than them, however, was the single company of the Custodiae Custodie Imperator... or Immortals, in relaxed terms. These men stood a shoulder above even the Grazskar troopers, resplendent in the morning haze and their ornate golden-plated steel armor plates resting over a loose blood-red silken uniform. On their heads they wore archaic-appearing golden helmets, adorned with a pair of golden wings spreading out off both sides of the piece, and topped with a knot of the blood-red silken cloth woven into think strands and built in the fashion of a horse's tail. These men carried great golden shields, as tall as an average man was high, and nearly twice as wide and ornamented with the Dominion's seal on the face. In their opposite hand they bore spears nearly ten-feet long and tipped on the high end with a terrifying spear blade, longer than a man's head, and fitted at the base of this blade were two small guards, also sharpened to a point. Unbeknownst to those that would see them, however, the opposite end of the weapon served as a barrel for a particularly long-range weapon that, while the Immortal soldiers advanced, could propel a 14.5mm machine gun round down-range with incredible accuracy. Some of these holy warriors, however, bore even more devastating weapons, for there were those among the squads outfitted for fire support roles. In which case the soldier would be outfitted with a monolithic gun, easily weighing two-hundred pounds, fashioned to fire a 22mm explosive round, a shot easily capable of downing light vehicles, helicopters, and even undefended tanks with room to spare.

It was these one-hundred terror-soldiers who proceeded to march into the Neroian capital city of Ha Noi, unaided by vehicles and unburdened, it seemed, by the supplies an army would seem to require. The only discernable officer among them was a man at the head of the two-abreast column that did march, in perfect step and without error nor sound of voice, down the sidewalks of this foreign land. He was identified by the stark green uniform and head-tail he wore. Otherwise, he too was exactly the same as every other man.

This truly Immortal force would for now take up a position inside an unused parking garage or similar large building until they were needed to serve. Any inquiry by the population to a trooper of no rank would result in a single response, that of "Community, Conformity, Stability" in a harsh mechanical tone, however, these soldiers were for now harmless, and would not, once occupied, leave the parking facility until required. At the entrances and first level openings were built barricades of concrete salvaged from the instillation or sandbags fashioned from what available. At one gate, however, there was no fortification. Here stood the commander of this company, at perfect attention, for twelve hours a day.

Behind him, his men would do the similar. Once taking positions, fifty men would stand watch around the building all day, without moving, speaking, or making any discernable motion. They would rotate in twelve hour shifts, silently and in perfect time...

Meanwhile, at the airfield, the one-thousand men of 6th Battalion Sanctus Schola, for that was the official name of the Grazskar terror-troopers, would mobilize, accompanied by their air-cover, to take positions in the southern cities as soon as possible. Every man would be mounted into either an armored personnel carrier or LV-08, and as such the trip would be of short duration. They would arrive in the city of Hue in five hours, from which they would proceed to the war zone. Moving with them were sixty LV-08's, half as many 90mm gun/howitzers and 88mm anti-aircraft guns, as well as twenty Lynx light armored personnel carriers and ten of the famous ST-39K1 Mekhev II main battle tanks. This small force could pack a punch, and that was all that was required until the rest of the 7th Army Group arrived with Admiral Gornostai.

Speaking of Admiral Gornostai... The Fleet Admiral and his prestigious 7th General Battle Group was just now entering the Pacific Ocean and bound south for the China Sea and their target nation... Right now his fleet comprised of his three Calypso class dreadnaughts, the Trial by Fire, Initiation Rite, and Dawn Hammer, six Vengeance class supercarriers, nine Tye Verna class fleet carriers, twelve Roydia class battleships and Helina class battlecruisers, eighteen Carthage class air defense cruisers and Triara light cruisers, as well as twenty-four Portlandia class missile cruisers and well on one-hundred and fifty escort ships as well as a flotilla of over two-hundred submarines and a pack of amphibious assault ships and logistics craft.

Joining Gornostai in the Pacific would be Rear Admiral Korostov with his assembled 3rd Fleet, a smaller, but appropriate force. This fleet would contain the contents of both a standard Light Group and Carrier Battle Group of the Dominion Navy, thus totaling a force of three further Vengeance class supercarriers, six Tye Verna fleet carriers, six Roydia battleships, twelve Helina battlecruisers, six Portlandia class missile cruisers and as many Triara class light cruisers, escorted by over one-hundred smaller ships.

This combined fleet, with the addition of their quite significant air power, would come to a stop in the ancient city of Hue in the central coastal region of Nero's country. Here they would form a defensive naval perimeter, restricting all coastal access to the north and pressing on as the ground campaign wore on. The Admirals would arrive in Hue in five days time.

The plan was set, the pieces were moving, all that was required now was time...

As the Pudite Immortals made their way into Ha Noi, their elaborate uniforms and immaculate marching drew quite a bit of attention.

Men, women, and children lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the grand sight. Some of the children threw flowers and confetti towards the men as they marched. Occasionally, a woman would approach a soldier in formation to offer them a variety of fresh baked goods, which they had made themselves.

A good portion of the city was still without water and power. The sight of their allies entering the city gave the populace a much needed morale boost.

Pudite Garrison of Ha Noi, Arrival of the Immortal Company, The Will of the Emperor
The Immortals paid no attention whatsoever to the gratitude of the populace they were here to save, not a single faceless body turned from step, not a single voice was heard from within their scarlet and golden tombs. It was as if there was no-one there.

They marched on, perfect step, perfect time, the overlapping shoulder plates of their battle armor slid in and out of joints silently with unattainable precision and timing. These soldiers were utterly cold and emotionless, there was no other option. It was The Dominion...

The Wanderjarian Marines, numbering thirty thousand strong, had dug in heavy entrenchments around their landing base, and fortified, to the best of their ability, the Mekong Delta.

Major General Frederick Hamburg stood in his command bunker, watching as K-1 Tanks rolled into position, and the massive Behemoth IIs sat idle, supporting the movement.

Colonel Kusmer, Executive Officer (XO) of the WMEU (Wanderjarian Marine Expeditionary Unit) in Nero, coughed politely to draw his commander's attention away from the bunker's view ports. "Sir?"

"Yes, Colonel?" He replied.

"The M-198s are ready, per your prior orders. Shall the bombardment begin?"

"Aye, Colonel. Do it."

"Aye Aye, Commander." He hurried off, making his way past idle Marines and other soldiers moving about supplies and weapons. The Fire Section, with several dozen M-198 Artillery Guns fixed on the Neroian lines, with their crews waiting, was an impressive sight to see. The power these possessed was only magnified by the Wanderjarian's special EXCALIBER Artillery system. These shells contained a microchip within the warhead, which could direct the shells to fall within seven feet of their target, even if fired away at one hundred eighty degrees. These were perfect killing machines for destroying enemy positions. White Phosphourous Rounds also were ready to be deployed. These horrific devices would explode with mass clouds of white, enveloping all unlucky enough to make contact, and quite literally melting the flesh from their bodies. A horrible way to die, but an effective weapon of both destruction.....and terror.

"Lieutenant Colonel!" Kusmer shouted, as he could not find the large Light Colonel.

"Aye sir!" He replied, coming forth from another underground bunker.

"The General wants the bombardment of the enemy to begin. Take 'em out."

"Aye aye Colonel!" He said, and immediately went from gun team to gun team, ordering sections on firing positions.

Within moments, hundreds of guns barked forth massive Booms!, as the shells they delievered went to the Neroian lines to devestate any defensive positions they had. After each of the fifty gun crews fired five Excaliber rounds, ten White Phosphorous (WP) rounds were fired in addition to clear out enemy infantry. Soon after knowlege of the damage caused was known, the Wanderjarian Infantry would begin to move out, destroying what was left of the Neroians.

From above, F/A-18 Fighters would continue to drop Napalm onto the enemy troops, hoping to keep moral low, and cause a few casualties. These fighters were supported by continous supply shipments from Wanderjar.

The Neroians darkest day was here.

OOC: I'm not targeting your troops, I'm fighting Nero in this engagement. I thought long and hard before using them, and didn't want to, but found this to be the best way to scare my enemies into submission. I hate using these tactics, as I'm sure you know, I try to be the good guy as much I can. However, this is the most effective way in which to make the enemy say "HOLY JESUS!" And surrender or run.

...by the way, unless the updated it, Willy Peter was only forbidden to be used in civillian areas. Its sister weapon, Napalm (which is just as bad, only released as jelly instead of gass clouds), can be used against enemy forces at will. And it is, WP was recently employed in Iraq (Though a direct violation of the Geneva Convention, as it was used in a civillian center, however the current administration doesn't seem to care....but all political bias aside, there is truly nothing illegal about this weapon, just immoral. But war is an immoral, horrid thing.

EDIT2: I won't use it again.

IC: Captain Hussein lined the troops up in the Transport Ship, D-Day style.

"Allahu Akbar! Asalaam Alaykum, my Brothers and Sisters!" he said.

"Walaykum Salaam. Allahu Akbar!" was the response.

"We are here today to crush the Neroian scum. They have meddle with us and they will feel the wrath. We have recently learned of Emporer Pudu's involvement, as well as the United Ed States' involvement.

What can we say to these strong nations helping such a puny one?

Bring it."

The troops erupted in cheers.

"Let's go and finish this war once and for all! For the Caliphate! For Allah!"

The troops erupted in cheers once more.

Captain Hussein radioed in the Aircraft Carriers and Frigates.

"Be preparred to launch a barrage of Ballistic Missile armed with warheads, along with some bombers. This should be quick".

As Captain Hussein turned to talk to the troops once more, Ballistic Missiles were being prepped to fire and bombers took off from the Carrier. All were aimed to hit or bomb all parts of the city.

"Men, are you ready!? Women, are you ready!?" yelled Captain Hussein, his hand on his radio.

The troops screamed. "Yes!".

"Let's kill some Neroians out here!" yelled Captain Hussein. He said, to all Transport Ships through his radio: "Open the Flood Gates".

At that moment, the bombers were ready to drop their bombs and the Ballistic Missiles fired from the Frigates.

"GET SOME!!!!" yelled Captain Hussein as he pulled the handle to open the door on the Transport Ship.

OOC: Icovir... oh poor Icovir... So naive. Nuclear weapons do nothing for the war, they contaminate this earth and cause instant death... which is not good at all for reducing morale. Genocide is personal; you have to be there... watch the settlement disintegrate before your eyes as the 8.12mm rounds from the Class II assault rifle streak up the side of the building, shattering the bones of the face of those peering out... Soldiers running down the street before the advancing legions, their eyes burned out of their sockets and their hamstrings tightening, they fall, screaming, as the muscle snaps and the leg is destroyed...

Pudite Arrival, Ancient City of Hue, The Beginning of the End
The great towering white transport ships pulled into the expansive docks, slipping silently through the deep black waters of the harbor to come to rest flawlessly alongside great concrete piers extending for thousands of meters out into the sea. Moving as one, the bowels of these immense craft opened to reveal their contents, hundreds of thousands of shimmering blue points of light...

Stepping closer to the light, powerful drum blasts ricocheted throughout the docks, the lights bouncing up and down as one, coming closer to the edge of their ships... Stepping into the daylight, these warriors were revealed. Standing as great towers of human muscle, genetically modified to suit their needs, shielded from the outside, from their wars and their atrocities, by hundreds of pounds of metal and tested fibers. They were the Emperor's finest, the Seventh Army of the Sanctus Schola Military Arm was deployed, and this war was over.

Exactly two million of these fanatics were unloaded here in the space of only seven hours from well on six-hundred ships unloading full five-thousand man brigades at once into the allied city. These formations would gather at the edge of their respective piers, amassing into twenty-thousand man divisions and proceeding to march in the perfect step, an attribute these foreigners were no doubt coming to expect from the Pudite soldiers, directly out of the city to establish divisional commands outside Hue.

All in all, there were one-hundred of these divisions here in Neroian territory, more than a few of which were dedicated to armored and mechanized warfare. The enemy would be driven from the shores of this nation, none would be spared.

Accompanying these one-hundred divisions were many thousands of vehicles, including the feared Mekhev II main battle tank, followed in line by its cousin, the SIV-25 armored personnel carrier and led by thousands of LV-08 light infantry vehicles. There were thousands of artillery pieces, ranging from the miniscule 90mm gun/howitzers and 88mm anti-aircraft weapons to the massive 280mm self-propelled medium howitzers and 240mm towed howitzers. Artillery was a specialty and a favorite of Dominion land battles, they would not be out-done. Following behind these were specialty vehicles, such as self-propelled anti-tank guns and anti-aircraft missile vehicles, gathering in their attached formations and preparing for the march ahead.

Flying low over the city were entire flights of hundreds of HVC-class gunships and transport helicopters, followed closely by the newest addition to the Dominion's arsenal, the Svyatogor next-generation attack helicopters. This would be their baptism by fire, and they would live up to the expectations...

Overseeing this massive landing was this theater's commander, Fleet Admiral Basa Gornostai. He stood, silently, on the end of the central pier, the wind rustling his long black greatcoat and uncut stringed black hair... Around him his soldiers marched on, perfect unity, community, conformity, stability...

He would lead these men for the next few weeks as he drove the muslim and the communist out of Neroian territory, as he again thwarted both old and new enemies of his Emperor. Standing to either side of him were his two appointed advisors, a foreign affairs officer and a foreign personnel officer, Mr. White and Mr. Grey, respectively, two of the many similar faces of Dominion politics.

Staring off into the city, watching his legions advance into yet another overseas war, yet another bloody campaign... Staring off he spoke, more to himself than anyone around him... "What is Nero worth..."

At once both aides, standing only feet behind their officer, responded. Mr. White, spoke; "Everything.", meanwhile, only feet away, his compatriot spoke as he did, "Nothing.".

And so the campaign began...

"How many Cartagena's do we have with us?" He asked his First mate.

"Fifty sir." He replied.

"Well then," He began, turning towards the Mate, "I suppose we should turn them loose."

These fifty SSNs, splitting off into groups of Four, immediately moved to engage the Pudite fleet. Coming in at 1/3 speed, their electric engines keeping them on silent run as the moved in for the kill.

And as they targets grew in sight, and the firing plots were set, they proceeded to attack.

Pudite Fleet, Coast of Hue, Wanderjarian Attack
The hundreds of ships of the Pudite fleet were arrayed as was custom for the Pudite fleet at rest, rather standard formations for sure encountered in previous wars by Wanderjarian officers. There were more than a dozen carriers here, and they were the central rock of the fleet, gathered in the center of their protecting ships, with a layer of gargantuan battleships, dreadnaughts, and battlecruisers surrounding them in a great white steel ring. Beyond these were the missile cruisers and gunships, standing at silent attention, awaiting the beck and call of their masters at the Admiralty...

For now, however, the line of defense that would make the difference here was the last. There were literally hundreds of small frigates, destroyers, and corvettes floating here, standing in gleaming ivory-colored lines, quietly surveying the depths of the ocean, torpedoes ready and waiting to fire. They were the picket line, stationary guardians of their giant overlords. Supporting this line from below the waves, there were two-hundred and forty-two Forthar quiet attack submarines, half of which formed into twelve flotillas of ten submarines each, on patrol at the far edge of the sonar of the surface pickets. The other one-hundred and twenty-two submarines were resting motionless below the main fleet, the reserves to be called up should an incident occur.

Even further supplementing this formidable defensive line were the four-hundred and twelve HVC-02 anti-submarine warfare helicopters. At any moment there are one-hundred and three of these helicopters on patrol, some of which were moving in twenty-five wings of five helicopters each, while the last fifty-three rested on alert on the decks of the escort ships, crews with their hands on the controls, awaiting the call.

And that call came. The thirty-fourth helicopter wing, flying over, and operating in tandem with, a pair of Forthar flotillas, called in their report over an emergency frequency reserved for such occasions, "Onk-Ith-Uof-Ron-Bus-Naw". The message was repeated and distributed throughout the Pudite fleet...

"Onk-Ith-Uof-Ron-Bus-Naw!"

Four of the Wanderjarian submarines had been spotted by a group consisting of twenty of the Forthar class submarines and five HVC-02 helicopters above. These submarines immediately leapt into action, with the first flotilla of which fired immediately their VA-111 Shkval torpedoes, for of which leapt from the tubes of these ten submarines, hurtling along at more than two-hundred knots, flying in a spread covering both the four enemy submarines themselves as well as the area immediately surrounding them. There would be no avoiding this, if the enemy submarines could even maneuver fast enough to avoid the straight shots...

Meanwhile, the other ten Forthar submarines engaged here had broken off into two groups of five, and lowering themselves about a hundred feet below the Wanderjarians, they moved one group up both flanks of the enemy. If by any miracle any foreign craft survived, they were now surrounded and would be eliminated quickly.

Above and behind these rather successful ships, the fleet above was adopting their own defensive maneuvers. Surely, there could not be only four submarines here, however, none more had yet been detected, and to effectively fight them off, that would have to happen very soon.

Fifty-three further HVC-02 helicopters lifted off of the decks of their parent vessels, rising as one and flying out in two or three helicopter groups, spreading out as they did so to cover the entire southern, eastern, and western areas of the fleet, the only directions the Wanderjarians could be expected from... Behind these helicopters were another three-hundred and nine further HVC-02s, all being prepared to launch as their crews were retrieved and briefed and their weapons loaded. In less than ten minutes the Pudite helicopter presence would triple.

Like their airborne compatriots, the submarine reserves had leapt into action, each of the one-hundred and twenty-two vessels moving out to positions a few hundred meters forward of the surface pickets, preparing to intercept any enemy submarines making a break for the larger ships in the center of the fleet. Above them the escort ships too made ready, retrieving communications channels with most submarine flotillas, and opening constant feeds through to their respective helicopter wings.

The air between the far-off submarine picket and the surface escort picket was dominated by swarms of helicopters, the sea claimed by hundreds of submarines patrolling and observing, all watching for the slightest clue as to the presence of any enemy craft. This was surely a futile gesture by the Wanderjarian authorities.

The fleet knew something was coming; all that was left was to find it...

"Alright, as we all know, the Mekong Delta is hell on earth," He said swatting at the persistant ravaging hordes of mosquitos which perpetually assaulted their bodies, "But, its what we have to take for the Father land. The Army is coming with about five hundred thousand men to help pacify the region. Once the Neroian Military Division here is defeated, we'll push forward with the army into the Cu Chi area. After that mountainous bitch is taken, we push into the heavily jungled Valley of Death (Ia Drang Valley). Our enemy relies on Armor, where as we rely on Infantry. Their tactics are absolutely ineffective here. We know the terrain, they don't. So we have the upper hand. That, my friends, is our strategy."

"Sounds good," Said Flight General Tarrik. "We'll keep flying bombing runs over the enemy positions, and afterwords we'll turn the Cu Chi mountains into the flatlands."

Smiling, Hamburg replied, "Thank you. Lets do this!"

Emperor Nero
22-11-2006, 07:54
Far below the surface, Emperor Nero read war reports from the safety of his underground bunker. His army had suffered a few setbacks at the hands of enemy aircraft, but as a whole he was satisfied with the progression of the war.

The loss of one of his favorite wives during Skgorria's bombardment of the capital stung, but she was merely one of many. No time to mourn her now.

The surprise of the war thusfar was the 4th infantry division's repulsion of Icovir's two million soldier landing party. The "Fighting Fourth" suffered terrible casualties, but 15,000 dead and wounded was a small price to pay to keep two million enemy soldiers from establishing a beachhead.

The Emperor made a decision...

"In the wake of the bombardment of our capital, the Empire could use a moral boost. What we need is a war hero. For now, that person shall be Colonel Ek Sereywath of the 4th Infantry Division. Broadcast the exploits of the 4th's deeds day and night. If Colonel Ek Sereywath dies, he will be a national martyr. Should he live, I shall personally promote him in a nationally televised ceremony.

Send whatever help we can to aid the 4th. I want the soldiers of Wanderjar driven back into the sea with all haste.

These are my desires. See to them at once.”

The Caliph paced around his office. He was stressed out from the telegram he recieved from Drexel Hillsville:

FROM: Drexel Hillsville
TO: Icovir
MESSAGE: Stand down in your war with Emperor Nero. I don't want our nations to have to fight each other, which will be inevitable if you continue to fight

This war had caused the involvement of 3 nations, when he only wanted it to be between himself and Emperor Nero. Soon, there will be 4 nations involved; including Drexel Hillsville, an ally of Icovir.

"DAMN!" yelled the Caliph before sitting down in his chair. He then did what he could do, the only thing he could do. He put his hands together, hands facing his face, and prayed.

However, he knew what he had to do before he even started. This war is killing many Icovirians and for a reason none other than pride. "I should've just sent them a box full of Eff You cookies" he thought.

He picked up his emergency phone, and called General Josh Natock.

"Inform Captain Hussein to stand down in his efforts" said the Caliph. "This war must end".

IC: The Caliph agreed. He packed a Surtur-C Carbine Rifle in his luggage and took off for Drexel Hillsville aboard the Air Force One.

The Caliph left command to Muhammad AbdulRashid; The Sunni Muslim leader of Icovir. The Caliph knew that if he were to give command to President Xavier Manuel, he would collapse under pressure and declare Icovir in a state of Martial Law (thereby welcoming Coup attempts).

Air Force One took off towards the Citadel along with 10 Icovirian Special Forces aircraft. The time to end this war was now.

Re: Peace Talks

We have our enemies right where we want them. Icovir's fleet is no match for your own. With little effort, their fleet with their 2 million soldiers could be sent to the bottom of the South China Sea.

With that force destroyed, the 30,000 Wanderjarian troops near Bac Leiu should be easily dispatched. Even now, efforts are being made to keep the Wanderjarians pinned at their current position so they may be dispatched in one foul swoop.

At this time, our illustrious leader believes every advantage is ours. If Icovir wishes to withdraw from this war, we suggest extracting a tribute from them. We feel $500 billion is reasonable. Our Emperor suggests a 70/20/10 split in your favor should they agree to those terms.

The Admiral was pleased with the response that the caliph gave him. Now he had another task to attend to. He had to get Emperors Pudu and Nero to come to the summit as well. He also had to get them to call a cease fire on Icovir at the very least.

He composed the following letter and sent it to each of them.

Dear Emperor,

I implore you to declare a cease fire on the nation of Icovir. I am allied with that nation and you. As such I feel it my duty to try and bring the two warring factions to a peace confrence. The Caliph of Icovir, my friend, has already told his forces to stand down and is on his way to the Citidel, where the summit is to be held. I beg you to attend this meeting. I refuse to stand by and let my ally be attacked, but I also refuse to break the laws of the CA. Please, join us in the Citidel in the search of some reasonable way to end this war.

-Sincerely,
-Admiral F. Crowley, Supreme Admiral of the Hills

After writing and dispatching the letter he quickly got on the phone with Admiral Andrew Kern, "I am putting you in charge of the Third and Fouth Fleets. I need you to work as a human, or rather naval buffer zone between the Emperors and Icovir. Leave as soon as possible. One last thing, do not fire."

Within the hour the Third and Fourth Fleets were sailing for the combat zone. They would not move in unless the Emperors refused the Admirals invitation.

General Josh Natock smiled. The military was under his control now, even if the government was run by someone else.

He immediatly radioed in Captain Hussein. "Hussein, I want to attack the scum like there is no tomorrow; understand?".

Hussein laughed. "Sir, yes sir".

"All right boys!" yelled Captain Hussein. "Let's kill these imbeciles before any reinforcements arrive. I have been ordered to attack this city with the full might of Icovir. You know what that means;"

The Icovirian troops were firing their guns and talking at the same time. "NUCLEAR WEAPONS!" they yelled.

"YOU GOT IT!" screamed Hussein. He fired one last grenade towards the general direction of the opposing gunfire and went back into the transport ship. He radioed Natock again.

"Sir, we're going to need someone to drop the Hydrogen Bomb on these rejects" said Hussein.

"Who said anything about Hydrogen Bombs?!" yelled Natock.

"Sir..."

"Because it's a brilliant idea. I'll send a bomber right away. Meanwhile, evacuate your men".

"Yes sir".

Hussein ordered a full retreat of the Naval Fleet and troops fighting on the ground. He would get 20 miles away from Emperor Nero and then the bomb would drop.

The men rushed back into their ships and sailed off towards nowhere.

The troops were traveling out towards the sea. Captain Hussein smiled. "This is brilliant" he thought to himself.

Air Force One, 10:00 PM Local Time
The phone rang during the Caliph's Isha'a prayer. A member of the Caliph's Cabinet answered.

"Sir, sorry to interupt you during your Isha'a prayer, but you may want to turn on the TV right NOW. This is important".

The Caliph got up, unusually as he never terminates his prayer without actually finishing it, and turned on the TV. He was shocked by what he heard.

"Today the Caliph announced his plans to go to Drexel Hillsville for peace talks. As he left, this nation has been in chaos.

Sheik Muhammad AbdulRashid was murdered yesterday by a group of Shi'ite Muslims. Though, this is highly doubted as even government officials said that "Natock ordered it".

Natock has ordered, also, a 'retalliation against the infidelity that is Emperor Nero', as he put it. This 'retalliation' was announced by Natock, and he said that it was more troops. However, thousands of Icovirians have told their local officials that they saw a bomber armed with what looked like a Nuclear Weapon take off towards Emperor Nero.

One man, Ali AbdulRashid Wa AbdulAziz, has went on TV earlier today and confirmed this news. He then denounced the actions of Natock, calling him a 'disgrace not only in the eyes of Icovir, but in the eyes of Allah'.

2 hours later, a body was found with a severed head in a Medinah allyway. Forensic Evidence has confirmed that this body was that of the same man, Ali AbdulRashid Wa AbdulAziz.

Natock, in the midst of this crisis, has declared himself Sultan of Icovir, and the country is now under Martial Law. Natock's Coup attempt, with the Caliph nowhere in site, has succeeded.

This is Jennifer Abdullah, Icovir News, 10:00 PM".

"WHAT?!?!?!" yelled the Caliph. "Forget about this meeting, and take me to Icovir at once!"

"Sir, it'll be impossible to stop the Coup attempt" said the Caliph's Advisor, Nasr Alabdallah. "Natock has control of the whole military".

"We'll find some Loyalists" said the Caliph. "Bismillah, we will kill the traitor Natock. To Icovir at once!".

The Celtic Air Force officers that were tracking the Caliph's plane noticed a change in the direction of their target. "Shit," one of them mumbled. He dialed a few numbers into the secure phone next to him.

"Hello?" The Admiral asked as he picked up the phone.

"Sir, we have a problem," the officer said.

The Admiral paused, "What do you mean, out with it!"

"The Caliph's has turned around. He's heading back to Icovir," The officer stated.

"God damnit!" The Admiral yelled as he slammed the phone down. He quickly picked it back up again and punched a few numbers in. "My friend," He addressed the Caliph, "What is going on up there?"

The Caliph answered, wiping sweat off of his face.

"There seems to be a problem in Icovir" said the Caliph. "No worries, I will deal with it quickly".

He then hung up the phone.

Air Force One was approaching Icovir when the 10 Icovirian Special Forces guard planes announced, panic in their voice: "Sir, look ahead. 500 Gnats".

The Caliph looked up with fear in his face. What they said was true.

"Men" said the Caliph: "Bismillah, I demand you..." the Icovirian Special Forces aircraft became nervous and fired on one Gnat. The Gnats opened fire back.

"Attack with all you've got!" screamed the Caliph.

Air Force One went into "attack mode", as the Caliph called it. 10 hatches opened up on the bottom of the plane and launched 20 Air-to-Air Missiles each.

The Gnats began attacking Air Force One, and it began smoking.

The Caliph sent a distress signal out to Captain Hussein: "Hussein, DO NOT use the nuclear weapon! Abandon all attacks on Emperor Nero immediatly and grant me some assistance! Natock is trying to throw a Coup D'Etat, and it's working. Air Force One is currently being attacked by 500 of his Gnats, and we need your assistance".

Hussein responded simply. "Finally" he said, then he hung up.

The Caliph slammed the phone down. "It looks as if they had gotten Hussein in on the Coup attempt" announced the Caliph.

The Icovirian Special Forces guard aircraft, and even Air Force One itself, continued attacking the Gnats. It looked as if the Loyalists, as they were called, were winning.

Just then, 100 fighter craft apporached Air Force One.

"Damn, it looks as if the aircraft I asked Hussein for came too early".

"Sir," announced one of the fighters. "We have been sent by Captain Hussein to assist you. He sends his regards, and says that he will help you counter the Coup attempt".

The Caliph, smiling, stated "That's good news".

The 100 bombers began a full out assault on the Gnats, and they were soon defeated.

"I want you to land me in Medinah at once!" yelled the Caliph.

A bomber was heard flying over the Fleet.

"Damn" said Captain Hussein gravely. "It looks liek the Neroians are going to die a painful death".

The bomber continued flying towards Emperor Nero. The pilot aimed his plane straight for it's Capital, fully expecting to die in the oncoming Hydrogen Bomb explosion.

Air Force One, meanwhile, landed in Medinah. The people were thankful for the Caliph's return. Many were heard screaming "save us!".

The Caliph squeezed his fist. "Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Raheem" said the Caliph. "We will kill the traitor".

The Caliph yelled to everyone in the city: "Any man or woman wishing to fight and defend the name of Allah prevaling in Icovir, go to the Military Base of Egyptistan immediatly and arm yourselves! Kill the traitors! Kill Natock!" yelled the Caliph. He then planned to make his way on a bomber towards his palace. He was assuming that Natock was residing there.

Meanwhile, the people armed themselves and marched towards Mecca; the location of the military base full of the "Coupers" (as the Icovirians called them). The Holy City of Islam would be rid of non-believing filth through war.

The Caliph made one final announcement to the people before boarding the bomber. "The Holy City of Makkah has never seen this type of war since the time of the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alahi wasalaam. Make me proud, and make Allah proud".

Pudite Battle Fleet, Command-Objectives Room, Icovirian Coup
The room was filled to capacity, the lights were shut down, so as to better monitor the screens, and the men were silent... The tension was palpable. It was for only one reason that these men were gathered here, during a submarine attack on their very fleet, in this lowest of the command rooms.

Recently Pudite channels inside Icovir, men brought up in the old colony of the Dominion, Suudihya, were reporting rather unfortunate things. There was peace at hand, apparently Icovir's government was viable to be bullied, but their military was not. The soldiers were still fighting to the south, and the ships were still drawing closer to shore...

Fleet Admiral Basa Gornostai was the most recent addition to the crowd, "What is the situation?"

The silence was broken by the Admiral's appearance, and he was answered, "Sir, it appears Icovir was backing out of the war, however... they're still fighting?"

"What?"

"Yessir, their soldiers are still shooting, and their navy is still coming..."

"God dammit, where is the 7th Army Group?"

A different officer replied, this one an official of the Sanctus Schola, which was obvious once one noticed his heavier build and seven foot and a half frame, his voice was deep and almost mechanical, "Sir, first and second Legions are moving to link up with Colonel Ostrata in Hue, while the other two are moving behind them on foot, taking the terrain into better detail."

"Good, good. I want Ostrata inside Icovirian infantry within twelve hours, meanwhile, get some of our boys up in the air. We've yet to establish superiority in anything, best to start with the easiest..."

Yet a third officer, this one presumably Air Force, responded, "We've gotten an entire Air Fleet for the operation, not to mention the few hundred planes we've got right on hand. I'll put one-third up immediately!"

With that, both the Sanctus Schola officer and the Air Force man left the ready room, taking the elevator up to normal decks where they would be able to make contact with their respective organizations.

Meanwhile, below decks, "Sir! New reports coming in from Icovir!", shouted a newly bred officer wearing the headset of a communications man, "It looks like a full-blown civil war may be on the horizon, the old government is recruiting!"

Admiral Gornostai halted for a second, while his advisor, Mr. White, leaned into his ear, "Sir, this may go higher than us, this may be the chance we've been looking for..."

The Admiral turned to his aide, his face as if it was hewn of stone, none of his emotion showing through his well-conditioned face, "Alert O-one, give them my opinion..."

"Which is, sir?"

"Chemicals are cleaner..."

While such was occurring below the decks of the massive capital ships, only a few thousand meters away on the decks of the massive Vengeance class super-carrier Borne of the Divine, the aircraft were already moving. Three-hundred aircraft would leave this ship before the hour was out, perfect Pudite efficiency putting another five planes into the air every minute...

Following their example, three of the nine Tye Verna class fleet carriers, as well as a second Vengeance class vessel, would empty their holds of aircraft, all in all putting more than eight-hundred aircraft into the skies of Emperor Nero.

These would operate in squadrons of fifty, spreading out over many miles each, moving from the latitude of Hue, south. These aircraft were the highly advanced Pudite F-78KB Strakhen Sokol Naval Air Superiority Fighters, which would take positions above the cloudy skies common among such tropical climes. This followed old, dog fighting doctrine, as well as allowing the massive turbulent masses of water to serve as their screen, it would be impossible for enemy aircraft attacking the Pudite's to strike first. When leaving a cloud, one cannot see much of anything before them until breaking the cloud's surface, while one above can watch as their enemy climbs the last few hundred meters through the mists.

To scan the air below, each squadron had a pair of fighters below cloud level, usually their most experienced pilots. They would call down the strikes, as it were, from the heavens above. Flying south at mach one-point two, a low cruise, they would do a complete sweep of the mainland.

A few hundred miles behind and a few miles below, the fleet began some unexpected maneuvers. Even while attack by an unknown amount of submarines, the Pudite ships prepared to move-out. The remaining two-thirds of the Pudite carrier air groups were readied, and in fact, another eight-hundred fighters, these ones the sister craft, serving alongside the Strakhen Sokol in the navies service, the light F-41B Multi-Role STOVL Naval Fighter Aircraft, took off. Eight-hundred and twenty five of these, numbers identical to their brethren already airborne, were spewed from another third of the unoccupied carriers, and bound south for the approaching Icovirian reinforcement fleet. They would fly high, at their ceiling of seventy-six thousand feet, while they approached, choosing this approach to avoid guns, and have a warning against any missile assault. They were under orders to concentrate on reconnaissance, doing only what damage made itself available.

Far from all of these operations, at least until the fighter sweep passed over them, the thousand men of the Grazskar battalion of Colonel Ostrata were preparing to move out, mounting up in their light armored personnel carriers and wheeled vehicles, bound south for the city of Bac Lieu, where they would get their first bloodshed of the war. Wanderjar had been a long time since experiencing the gunfire of the Grazskar Legionaries...

They would arrive in what was estimated as three hours, accompanied by their fifty Coba VTOL gunships and with the support of their own mobile artillery and armored units. A fully cohesive fighting force, this was only a taste of what was to come. Upon arriving in the city, assuming Wanderjar has not yet arrived, roadblocks armed with Mekhev II tanks and 90mm artillery formed as direct-fire guns would be set up, with further artillery bases inside the perimeter, guarded by many anti-aircraft vehicles, to be used for precise counter-battery fire. Artillerymen in the Dominion had recently developed their own Excalibur shell, that is, an artillery round aided by computer controlled fins and guided to its target by Global Positioning Satellites. The armored personnel carriers would be held in reserve as a rapid reaction force, deploying to the heaviest fighting to relive the stress and carry the fight onwards, while the wheeled vehicles would serve as a forward reaction force. They were organized into patrols of five, with three machine guns, a TOW missile launcher, and a 40mm automatic grenade launcher. They rolled the outer suburbs and access roads not heavily guarded by native forces, also noting possible routes of access and zeroing in artillery and noting mine and IED concentrations through interviews with Neroian soldiers and cooperative guerillas.

The gunships would set down on the opposite side of the city, preparing to take off at a second's notice, ready to distribute their significant firepower to wherever they were required. Channels were to be opened with both domestic and foreign forces, opening the firepower of the Emperor to whomever requested it...

Emperor Nero would not be a colony of the muslim or the communist, this Admiral Basa and his Emperor would swear.

The Caliph ran his hands through his hair. The easiest way to end this would be with nuclear weapons, but he wouldn't risk it. He couldn't bomb the Holy City, which in turn would destroy the Ka'aba; nor could he risk war inside the Holy City.

The bomber landed on the Royal Isle, and 3 Caliphate Guards were sent inside to clear out the palace.

They came out 5 minutes later. "Area secure, sir" they said to the Caliph.

The Caliph ran into his office inside his palace. He then sent an emergency broadcast around Icovir:

"Men and women of Icovir, unite! The city of Makkah is under attack from Natock, the 'Couper'. Attack them at all costs!" his message was short.

The men and women who followed the Caliph's orders earlier reached Makkah and began their attack against the 500,000 men Natock managed to gather.

Meanwhile, Captain Hussein took control of the military. He ordered all of the 7 million men and women in the Army alone (save the 500,000 Natock took) and ordered them to attack the "Coupers" in Makkah.

"Unite under one flag: Icovir's. Unite under one God: Allah!" yelled the Caliph and Captain Hussein together. They had both taken control.

Re: Troop Movements

With the Ivocirian fleet moving away from Nha Trang, we no longer feel such a large garrison is needed there. We urge you to redeploy most of your men towards Bac Leiu. Together, we can strike the Wanderjarians with overwhelming force.

With respect,
Chie Lo

All UES units on the Neroian Peninsula will be moved to Bac Lieu, as the UES can now devote more troops to this conflict, whom will take up positions in Nha Trang. All troops currently within the nation of Emperor Nero are: 1st Paratrooper Regiment (1,000 men), 1st Army (of about 171,500 men), and the 1st Air Corps, who seem to be spread out all over in different bases. They however, will be moved to the closest operational base near Bac Lieu, to support allied troops there.

Additional units now being flown into the UES are: 3rd Army, Light Infantry Detachement under the command of General E. Rinebacker (about 120,000 men) headed to take up positions in Nha Trang, where they can later be redeployed, the 4th Army (120,000 men), who will be deployed to Bac Lieu under the command of General Nieoz, the 2nd Light Infantry Division (about 1,500 men), under the command of Major General O. Alexander, who will be permanantly stationed at the Neroian capital for national security purposes, and the 1st Mobile Armored Brigade (about 3,266 men), under the command of Brigadier General R. Rochestor, who will be stationed at Bac Lieu, so they may storm the beaches with their M1 Abrams tanks to help chase the invaders out. Although these units may take a few days to fly in, they will get right to work once they arrive.

Of the 1st Air Corps, the 2nd Tactical Fighter Wing (containing several F-15 and F-16 squadrons), and the 1st Tactical Bomber Wing (several B-52 and B-1 squadrons) will be flown to Greater Morroccan bases, with their OK.

I am also glad to see you joined the CA. That is a wise choice, for the leaders are powerful, fair, and help out nations being ravaged by war. :)

OOC: I am unofficially allied with nearly everyone inside the CA, although our own policies keep us from joining, and other aquantainces keep us from totally liking everyone inside.
