A dozen B-52 bombers took off from an airbase in Bonstock, loaded with 2,000-pound JDAM bombs, for what was labelled "Operation Arcnight." After refueling several times over the ocean, they reached the shores of Laytaq.

A message was sent to Laytaq: Bonstocknian forces would like to conduct a strategic bombardment of insurgant targets around the city of Umm Qairan using precision guided munitions from our B-52 Stratofortress bombers. We are confident that our precision guided munitions will minimize civilian casualties, though we would still like your permission to use them.

Meanwhile, an E-2 Hawkeye AWACS aircraft flying off the coast of Laytaq spotted two bogies flying over Umm Qairan. After notifying allied powers and checking the Air Tasking Orders for all allied aircraft, it was determined that the aircraft were hostile. Two F-35s were immediately sent to engage the targets.

"Shadow lead to Big Bird, radar contact made with hostile bandits."

"Roger. Shadow flight, permission to engage targets."

"Shadow one engaging targets. All ships engage."

Each of the F-35s locked onto an insurgant plane, and, from a distance of 15 miles out, each of them fired two AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.

The F-35s then climbed to an altitude of 40,000 feet, far above the maximum altitude of a Stinger missile. An E-8 JSTARS aircraft flying from the Bonstocknian airbase had determined that three enemy aircraft were lying dissassembled on the tarmac of the rebel airbase. The F-35s were ordered to engage. Each of them targeted a 500-pound GPS-guided bomb on one of the planes, sending a total of six bombs falling towards the enemy planes on the ground, two for each insurgant planes. Then they vectored for home.

Forty more F-35s would soon be back to help finish the job against Umm Qairan, as a whole brigade of nearly 5,000 mechanized troops began assembling to sieze the town.

The insurgent fighters all were destroyed. Still, 10,000 innocent people lived in Umm Qairan and the rebels made sure to remind the world of this. They threatened that they would begin slaughtering the civilians should an attack take place. They then set a time table for the government to step down, givng them two days.
People were not allowed out of their homes, or else be shot. Often times, the insurgents were dressed in LSF or police uniforms, and so were not attacked. Almost 1000 mines were deployed around the city. Trenches were dug, traps were set. IED's were everywhere along the highway. Bombs were set in cars around the city. Javelin teams were sent to small towns all along the road to the city. Snipers littered the path as well. Four Katyushas, along with some 200 mortars also set up in the city. Qassam rockets were assembled by the hundreds. The attackers would face a heavy resistance.

Although the insurgents enjoyed great succes in Umm Qairan, the battle was already lost in Al Iskandariyah. Most of the insurgent held land was lost, and the number of attacks and casualties per day fell. Morale was low among the rebels in Al Iskandariyah, and several rebel leaders began ordereing their men into surrender.

OOC: Latyaq, I need a response to my attack with the traffic.

Here it is, and already been responded to by Blackhelm.

IC:
With the central governemnt building devastated and the government is some toil, the Hayord rebels looked elsewhere. Elsewhere, just as 'up there'.

The rebels hide cars in garages, wired with bombs, with mustard gas. They left, and headed for the central business buildings. Any buildings not devastated by these attacked would, in fact, be devastated.

How? Over-consuming. Too many people, not enough products.

Thirteen cars, five buildings. The tallest building, the most commercially-used building, and three more importent buildings. The passengers were armed with Uzis, 9 millimeters. They fired at cars, causing pile-ups on roads, shooting police. If the cars could not reach their target, they detonated.

One car was driving for a simple business building, driving via the highway. They suddenly pulled off the side of the road, people unsuspecting as nothing had happened around the car, and the car crashed into its target. It detonated, the middle of the building collasping, destroying the whole thing. It crashed on the highway, causing mass traffic.

Three other buildings were struck, and the last car had made a detour. At another highway, the bombs went wrong. They were pulling off and the bombs detonated, the supports and ramp destroyed. The highway was destroyed, causing more traffic.

The rebels were rejoicing.

OOC: It just occured to me Emperor Reginald is stiill in the Capitol Building.

Realizing that the rebel cause in the capitol was almost lost, they rallied one last hoorah. A group of the rebels, almost 700 in number, rushed at the capitol, pushing past the LSF forces outside. Indeed, about 10 of the LSF guarding the building were actually rebels, and they turned against the rest of their men, teating into them with AK fire, and many setting off suicide bombs. In minutes, a group of men slipped by the fighting and infiltrated the building.
The Scandinvans
25-06-2006, 21:13
Inside the building was a regiment of the Personal Bodyguard of the Emperor. Every signal one of them had been handpicked by the Emperor for their skill, strength, and loyalty to him. As well, they were most likely the most powerful and most skilled soldiers in the Empire could easily take on an average man in battle.

OOC: You do realize that there are legions of my soldiers nearby and within a short while they will surround the building fighting your forces. As well, my regiment consists of 500 soldiers.

OOC: These guys dont really care about being surrounded.

The men ran in, firing their AK's. One shouted "Everyone, drop your guns, or we explode, taking the building down with us!!"

26-06-2006, 05:11
OOC: Two things about rigging the building to explode one the building is ill of the Emperor’s guards and tow the outside of the building is now beginning to swarm with Imperial legionaries.

IC: The Personal Bodyguards of the Emperor all laughed and then they began to open fire with weapons specially made for the Emperor’s elite guard. As well, a number of them drew their swords and charged at the rebels. Outside of the building hundreds of soldiers now began to surround it…

One of the men exploded, rocking the building. The rest opened up with their Ak's. "We will level the buildiing, we all have suicide vests!"

26-06-2006, 06:11
The soldiers responded by firing their rapid fire staff weapons with great accuracy and killing power. In response a Guard said,” That will prove to no avail as we speak the Emperor is now safely flying away and within the minute will be in a place safe from the like of you.”

"No emperor?" the confusion went around the attackers quickly. "No need to capture these people, you know what to do!"

The 15 men all set off their belts at once, and a massive explosion rocked the building.
The Scandinvans
26-06-2006, 06:22
A number of the guards were killed in the blast, but most of the guards survived and only a number of them were injured from bullets or burns. As well, the Emperor had now arrived at the stronghold and now was surrounded by elite soldiers loyal to the death for their Emperor.

Since they had attacked with so many troops, many of them were now captured by the Scandinvans and LSF. The LSF took this chance to open up an attack in Al Iskandariyah. They made offensives into insurgent held areas. The insurgents were weakened and lacked supplies. They couldn't hold on for long.

Griffincrest mercenaries also began mopping up the streets. Seeing the situation in Umm Qairan, and realizing that these next few weeks will be bloody as the rebellion is in its death throws, an additional 20,000 mercenaries were dispatched, bringing Griffincrest Security Forces to a total of 70,000 men, 40,000 in the east, 10,000 in the capitol, and 20,000 in the west.

Insurgents began massive attacks with ak's and rpg's, desperatky trying to inflict as much damage as possible.

The Scandinvan legions now had begun to move into the outlying areas of the capital. They themselves worked the best they could to avoid civilian casualties and many of them died as a result of that policy. As for the new attacks the Scandinvan soldiers held firm and stood their ground when faced with these new assaults.

Frost returned to the Hydacan compound lat at night. He'd found out nothing of consequence despite making numerous forays into the insurgent infested areas of Latyaq.

Now it was time to leave, with the training mission over, Hydac was "realigning" its mission to Latyaq. Frost had more pressing matters to attend to back home, this war was someone's else's problem now.

*************

That someone was Col. Owen Banks. Banks had commanded Hydac's 2nd Mechanized Brigade during the Desert War and had been highly decorated for his actions.

Now he was taking over the Hydacan Military Assistance Mission to Latyaq (HMAML).

OOC: what did the 2nd mechanized do, I don't recall them.

The Griffincrest Fleet in Al Iskandariyah recieved word that the rebels were planning on delivering a massive bomb via freighter sometime this week. In response, the Chieftan turned sideways, blocking off the port, and bringing its guns to face the opening.

Bonstocknian bombers, figuring that Laytaq's government would approve anyway, began their bombing run over Umm Qairain.

"All-righty men," a B-52 pilot with a thick Texas accent said, "We're makin' our vectorin' for the target area. We will, on this par-ticular mission be droppin' a total of twenty two-thousand pound Joint De-rect Attack Munitions, on targets i-dentified by headquarters. Prepare to open the bomb-bay doors."

The copilot pressed a button, and the bombbay doors on that and the eleven other B-52s opened. Flying high above the maximum altitude of insurgant missiles, the Stratofortresses were impervious to ground fire. They flew over Umm Qarain, and dropped their GPS guided bombs on targets satellite and Pretator UAV reconnaissence had observed before. The targets were anti-air defenses, command bunkers, and ammunition dumps. More bombers were dispatched from airbases in Bonstock to finish the job.

Meanwhile, the mechanized column of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, approached the gates of the town, alongside the Scandinvan and Laytaqi forces. There were five thousand troops, along with hundreds of Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Paladin howitzers, and Apache helicopters, along with hundreds more Humvees and trucks. They established a base camp on the outskirts of the town, erecting a few tents, howtzer positions, and a matting airstrip in the center surrounded by trenches and timber-and-sandbag bunkers. Over twenty howitzers soon opened up on the insurgant positions, targetting their mortars, Qassam rocket launchers, and troop concentrations. Meanwhile, several Bonstocknian troops loaded into Humvees and Bradleys, and began probing around the town in small groups, looking to give the Bonstocknian commander an accurate map of the town and insurgant dispositions.

ooc: anyone wanna make a map of the town, or give a physical description of it?

3,000 Griffincrest security forces also headed to Umm Qairan, supported by 1200 Mercury's. Soon, Umm Qairan would fall, hopefully ending the war.

In the city, 10,000 rebels gathered, and set up for war. Trenches outside the city were set up, and mines and tank traps were abundant. The bombers did not kill many rebels, but severly destroyed their supplies, blowing up a number of ammo depots, as well as killing on of the local tribal rebel leaders. True to their word, another video appeared, showing an estimate of 100 civilians, locked in the courtyard of a building. A man stood on the balcony and said "For your attacks, you have cost all of these people their lives" He then picked up n M60, and opened fire on the trapped crowd. A man on a blacony acoss the yard opened fire as well. The camera then was on the courtyard level, showing the man walking past mounds of dead. "Do not blame us for this massacre. It is all on you for attacking this city."

Mahmoud Nejad spoke to Latyaq's allies.

"You have helped us greatly. Thank you friends. We are getting to the point where we can take on this mission ourselves. Our security force is 120,000 strong. If we beat the insurgents here, that should be enough. You can begin troop withdrawals, if you'd like. We have defeated the insurgency in Al Iskandariyah, liberated the outskirts of the town, and brought justice to these demans. After we liberate Umm Qairan, we will have most of the country. Most of the remaining insurgents are in Umm Qairan, so this will be the last big battle. We secure most of the country. If you want to begin troop withdrawal in the next few days, Latyaq will understand, but please, stay with us for the battle of Umm Qairan first...."

Meanwhile, In Umm Qairan, 4,000 Latyaq troops were right outside of the city. They had 40 tanks with them. 1500 of the soldiers had RPGs to fight the Toyotas. After getting the above mentioned video, the troops were ordered in.

Now the Imperial legions had now begun the final assault on Umm Qairan with their soldiers. Two full legions now moved into the city’s outskirts after there had been an initial artillery and air bombardment. In the smoke of the bombardment the soldiers poured into the outlying areas of the city. Yet, the trenches full of mines did do some damage, but the Scandinvan tanks were held back for now.

Katyushas ripped open and hundreds of HE rockets prained down on the enemy vehicles. RPG and Javelin fire, along with AK, RPK, and M60 fire poured from the defense trenches around the city. Snipers along the outskirts of the city, hundreds of them, began picking off enemy infantry. Mortar shells screamed out of Umm Qairan, smashing into enemy formation. In the city, roads were being blocked, traps were being layed, and trucks were being readied.

The Scandinvan legions kept there assault despite a number of casualties. As well, there vehicles were not badly effected by the rockets due to them having been held back for now. So in the hopes of making it safe for them to move in the infantry now moved into the outer streets of the city and began their first fighting for the control of Umm Qairan…

Colonel David Norloff, the commander of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, looked out at the town through his binoculars. He saw the smoke rising through the town. "Let's go," he said.

The tanks led the charge, with infantry rushing on the side and close behind. The Bradleys stood behind, providing fire support.

However, higher command had heard reports of civilian casualties as a result of the Bonstocknian B-52 strikes. Several Bonstocknian journalists had captured footage of Bonstocknian bombers dropping their loads, and public outcry was a storm. The Joint Chiefs of Staff had specifically forbade the use of Bonstocknian artillery and airpower against the town from this point on.

The Bonstocknian tanks and infantry advanced slowly. They got close to the town. Suddenly, a Javelin missile flew out of a building, and took out the lead tank. Bonstocknian tanks withdrew, and infantry were soon bogged down by small arms fire, retreating a few moments later with heavy casualties. Colonel Norloff was furious.

"Blow that town to bits!" Norloff ordered. The insurgant held areas on the outskirts were soon subjected to a massive artillery bombardment. Not a building would be allowed standing to provide the insurgants cover, not a single insurgant position would be left standing.

Bonstocknian soldiers and tanks walked in. Norloff watched, hoping this time it would be better.

Katyushas continued to fly out of the city, mainly for Bonstockian troops. Snipers continued to aim for Scandinavian soldiers, and Javelin and RPG fire was immense.

The Scandinvan infantry now began to sweep through buildings in squads so as to clear them of any of their rebels. As well, tanks opened fire on any enemy positions they came across. Also, now a large number of Scandinvan snipes had managed to take positions in parts of the city.

28-06-2006, 03:39
Fierce fighting raged throughout the city. In areas that it seemed apparent the rebels were losing, Lewisite, as well as phospheous grenades were dployed, killing most living things in the area. The Katyusha rockets continued to rain down. Mines and IED's exploded every few feet. Cars not running and seemingly innocent were detoneated by remote, sending fragments and bosy parts flying.
Bonstock
28-06-2006, 04:05
Bonstocknian troops start a policy of shooting any cars in sight just to be sure. Several Katyushas rain down, but the Bonstocknians mostly take cover behind buildings; only ten are killed by the attacks. Still, Norloff was angered.

"Keep bombarding it! Blow that town to the ground."

Bonstocknian 155mm howitzers, in bold violation of the National Command Authorities, start levelling the areas where the Katyushas were located, firing as many rounds as they could get off. Several Bonstocknian scouts with sniper rifles start to penetrate through. It is a dangerous mission; four Bonstocknians are killed trying. But about ten manage to get through, and take their .50 caliber anti-material sniper rifles and aim for the Katyusha drivers seats.

Bonstocknian troops in small four-man fireteams start clearing houses using flashbang grenades and automatic fire. Each house taken serves as a firing position, to provide supressive fire for the next assault. Tanks in the street provide heavy direct fire support, blasting hidden snipers and machine gunners with their 120mm cannons, while infantry pick off any potential heavy weapons threat. Little by little, the Bonstocknians advance.
Blackhelm Confederacy
28-06-2006, 04:46
The last 10 Katyushas fired a combined volley, landing 360 HE and airburst rockets into Bonstockian forces. Many of the buildings in the city were also rigged with bombs, and had a 10 sec timer. This gave the squad time to get in the building before exploding. AK and RPG attacks were constant, and it seemed like every few houses had an RPK, M60, or Javelin in them.

Thankfully the lessons of the civil war had taught the Scandinvan soldiers to always wear their gas masks whenever the rebels turned desperate such as in a last stand. As well, a number of the tanks were hit by the missiles, but overall the armored advanced continued into the city on schedule as more and more armored vehicles were brought into it.

28-06-2006, 14:46
About twenty Bonstocknians die and two tanks disabled by exploding houses and Katyushas. Bonstocknian soldiers hold the ground they take, and the rest of it is subjected to yet another massive artillery bombardment. Half of Bonstocknian shells are high explosive demolition rounds, and half are napalm-filled incendiaries.

Bonstocknian B-52 bombers are called in. Having not been notified of the target restrictions, they are called to blow the remaining rebels to bits. Twenty of them fly in low over insurgant positions to carpet bomb them with tens of thousands of tons of bombs.

Several AH-64 Apaches, braving missiles and other ground fire, fly in afterwards to disable the last of the Katyushas still operational with their rockets and chain guns.

Bonstocknian troops resort to not clearing houses. Instead, flamethrowers are sent to fire into the buildings and burn out any insurgants. Two of them die by sniper fire, but the other few dozen continue on.

Umm Qaiaran was now the definition of urban warfare. House to house fighting, rubble, fire, chaos. Most of the city was either leveled or onfire. The Katyushas were all lost and most of the rebels were dead or surrendered. Still, they fought on. The Apaches made easy targets, and they were fired upon by 2 or 3 RPG's each. Mortar teams still managed to fire at the enemy. IED's were also still scattered about. As the enemies got closer to the centre of the city, more and more rooftops exploded to life with RPK and M60 fire. Toyota trucks zipped through the city, opening up with .50 cal fire, automatic grenade launchers, and RPG's. Snipers aimed for the gas tanks on the backs of the men with flamethrowers. Many of the rebels also wore LSF unifroms, which they would use to get close to Bonstockians and Scandinavians, and then open fire at close range, or explode. Frag and phospherous grenades were still being thrown at the enemy, and smoke grenades were only adding to the chaos of the already smoky city. Anti-tank rifles were also being used, punching into IFV's, and blasting apart enemies skulls. Chloropicrin gas was deployed as well, and this was capable of pentrating gas masks. The battle was getting worse.

Stopping to remove their armor made the men more vulnerable to sniper fire and such, as they were not moving. It also gave RPG men an opportunity to hit the tanks while the infantry was changing. Mortars were now being concentrated on Scanidnavian positions.

The men for the most part managed to remove their armor quickly and to take cover after that, but a few of them were taken down by enemy fire. As well, a number of these Special Forces now began to open fire on rebel mortar positions.

With the help of a large number of locals who joined the rebel ranks after the bombings, the rebels made a formidable defense now. A Javelin was fired into the front and rear tanks in a Scandianvian group, trapping the vehicles. Then quickly, about 12 buildings on the block the group was ambushed on sprang to life, with dozens of rebels with RPG's, blasting away from directly above the armored vehicles. Stinger missiles filled the skies, blasting into choppers as they flew over the city. It seemed that the entire city was opening fire on the foreigners, as it was impossible to tell who was civilian and who was not. People, seemingly unarmed, would open fire with handguns and mini-uzis when they got close to the enemy.

In a warehouse in the city, the rebels left the Bonstockian pilot, still alive, but just barely. He was shot in his right shoulder, and had numerous broken bones and ciggarette burns.

The Bonstocknian High Command became furious with Colonel Norloff after recieving the transmission from Laytaq. Norloff was immediately removed from command, replaced by his second in command, Lt. Colonel Johnny Young.

But most Bonstocknians agreed that the bombardment was necessary, in fact essential, as less bombardment would mean more dead Bonstocknians. Two of the Apaches were shot down before the rest simply withdrew; the crews were killed. Mortars, snipers, explosives, and other devices were taking a toll on the Bonstocknians. Forty died in the immediate aftermath. News crews film Bonstocknians getting killed in the deadly streets. With their artillery and air support now completely gone, the Bonstocknians were on their own.

Colonel Young had almost no time to react. When he finally relized the situation he was in, he ordered Bonstocknian troops to advance no further until nightfall at least. Wounded men were taken behind the lines to be choppered out to hospitals, and supplies were brought up by helicopters and trucks.

Night fell. Small teams of Bonstocknians, no more then four soldiers each, start crawling their way around the streets towards the insurgant held areas. The four AC-130 gunships are brought up, mostly to supress enemy soldiers with 20mm, 40mm, and 105mm fire from the sky. Enemy vehicles and heavy weapons are given priority in their attacks.

The Bonstocknian teams forcibly enter houses from the top down, firing grappling hooks up to the top and climbing up as other teams provide covering fire. The top down tactic prevents enemy explosives from going off, since these were wired to the front doors of the houses. Then the Bonstocknians clear the houses room by room. Flashbang grenades and automatic fire are used to clear each room of insurgants.

Several of the Bonstocknians spoke Laytaqi, and communicated with any civilians found, introducing themselves as Bonstocknians, reassuring them that they will be safe, offering to evacuate them, and asking them where the insurgants were.

Rebels took special pride in downing an AC-130. Often, as a gunship came into the city, as many as 25 stingers would be fired at it. Also, in an area of the city, behind the Bonstockian advance, that was formerly thought to be cleared, a band of about 120 civilians, angry at the bombing raid, gathered together with AK-47's and RPG-7's, intent on revenge. They attacked the Bonstockian rear and left flank, pouring from alleys and side streets. Rebel Toyotas hit the right flank hard at the same time, while a large force of well equipped rebels (G36E's and Javelins) attacked the front. The Bonstockian soldier were soon completely trapped.

The AC-130s fired flares and other weapons, but the sheer volume of the Stingers was enough to seriously damage one. The others were ordered to withdraw. The damaged one limped over to a Bonstocknian held area of the city, and the crew bailed out; the large aircraft fell onto a group of civilian houses.

A group of Bonstocknian soldiers was attempting to take a house from the insurgants. They found a group of civilians in a basement.

"We are Bonstocknian soldiers," a Bonstocknian sergeant said in Laytaqi. "Please remain calm, and you will be..."

Suddenly a woman pulled out a mini-Uzi and shot him in the neck. The other Bonstocknians opened up with their M-4s and M-249s, killing the woman, her mother, and her children. Then they looked at eachother, feeling sick. They radioed back saying that the insurgants had killed them.

It was figured that a dead Laytaqi civilian was much better then a dead Bonstocknian soldier. Civilians in the street were warned that they were violating a cerfew. Warning shots were fired, and then the Bonstocknians took .50 caliber machine guns and assault rifles and opened up from behind cover.

A massive fire fight had broken out in the city as the rebels tightened the circle around the Bonstockian soldiers. The Toyotas slammed into the right flank hard, .50 cals and automatic grenade launchers blasting away. The armed civilians took heavy casualties, but fires back. About 20 died in the initial blast, but they kept moving. Massed mortar barrages were also being directed at the trapped Bonstockian soldiers, who were running out of roo, quickly.

As the AC-130 went down, a massive cheer went up along the rebel forces.

A whole battalion of Bonstocknians mechanized forces, with fifty Bradleys, came up to relieve the trapped Bonstocknians, most of whom fell back and shot at anything in their path that didn't have a Bonstocknian uniform on. Meanwhile, the Bradleys turned their 30mm chain guns on the insurgants and their civilian converts. Still, twenty Bonstocknians had died in the pocket, though their retreat was orderly.

The Bonstocknian mechanized forces then began advancing. Dozens of Bonstocknian tanks slowly rumbled, and made liberal use of their 120mm cannons, using high explosive anti-personnel shots against groups of armed civilians blocking their way. The cover of darkness was expected to hide them from RPGs, and Bonstocknian infantrymen aimed their M-4s to snipe off anyone with a heavy weapon. The Bonstocknians were ordered to consider anything in the streets to be hostile, and that they were to be cleared at any cost.

The Bonstocknians advanced down the main avenue to the center of the city, not bothering to enter any houses unless it was absolutely necessary. Bonstocknian tanks took care of snipers and machine guns with their 120mm guns, while Bonstocknian infantry shot at RPG gunners and prevented anyone with an explosive charge or grenade from getting too close. A reserve contingent stayed behind to cover the lines of supply and prevent any more insurgants from attacking the Bonstocknian flank and rear. Recon teams began advancing around the Bonstocknian flanks and rear, with sniper rifles and submachine guns, to give advance warning of insurgant attacks and snipe at RPG gunners.

The insurgents were in chaos. Many of them fled the city, other surrendered or commited suicide. Still many fought to the death. One man even dove out of his window with a suicide belt on, landing on a Bonstockian tank and exploding. Others made suicde attempts to fight back, firing whatever weapons they had at the Bonstockian column. As the enemy neared the city centre, however, hundreds of IED's and mines began exploding, and every few feet another was encountered.

Two Bonstocknian tanks were disabled by the IEDs, and another by the suicide vest man. The others went around. Bonstocknian soldiers started looking out for IEDs. Whenever one was seen, it was shot at, as was any person in the streets. Bonstocknians kept an eye out on the windows. Anyone jumping out was to be shot. Meanwhile, loudspeakers on the tanks began offering amnesty to surrendering insurgants if they surrendered, and promising certain death to those that didn't.

Bonstocknian engineers were brought up, with special bulldozer tanks, to detonate mines and IEDs, as the rest of the Bonstocknians began approaching the mosque and market at the center of the city.

The market concealed dozens of bombs in the stalls all around, some containing Lewisite, other with white phospherous, and the vast majority HE or frag. The mosque was the fortress of the city, and as the tanks got within range, it sprang to life, with two RPG's being launched from each Minaret. A Javelin was launched from the gateway, before the massive gate was closed. Hundreds of men lined the high, thick outer walls of the mosque blasting away with AK, RPK, RPG, Javelin, and Stinger fire.

A Bonstocknian tank war destroyed by fire from the mosque.

"We're taking fire from the mosque!" a tank commander shouted on the radio.

"Shoot it!" another said.

Bonstocknian tanks fired dozens of 120mm rounds into the mosque. Artillery was called in to demolish it with insurgants inside. Bonstocknian commanders again threw out the rules of engagement. Tons of 155mm rounds fell on the mosque and the market area, hopefully demolishing them and killing the insurgants. The night was lit by explosions and fire. Then the Bonstocknian tanks and infantry came to destroy what was left.

The ancient Mosque was destroyed, along with all the rebels inside. The major fighting in Umm Qairan was over, although small groups of gunmen would occasionally attack a patrol or supply convoy. Smoke, fire, and rubble covered the city. Most of the rebels who did not flee began surrendering, about 600 in total.

The surrendering insurgants were brought into a large internament camp under the watchful eye of Bonstocknian troops. Another ten Bonstocknians died in random acts of violence around Umm Qarain before the city was finally declared secure and handed over to Laytaqi soldiers. Bonstocknian recon troops in Humvees began patrolling around, supported by Predator UAVs, to track down and kill any fleeing insurgants.

Still, the dead were counted, and about 150 Bonstocknians had died in one single day. The Bonstocknian public was outraged. President Roberto Sanchez's popularity rating fell to an all-time low of 9%, and several groups were calling for his resignation, even his forcible removal from office.

Under pressure, the administration started a phased withdrawl of Bonstocknian forces from the conflict. Most of the 1st Infantry Division, save the third brigade tasked with defending the airbase, was withdrawn. Bonstocknian troop levels were brought down from 60,000 to 20,000 within a few days, and the Laytaqis were notified that within a few weeks all Bonstocknian combat forces would be withdrawn from the conflict. Most in the Bonstocknian government reasoned that if the insurgants struck back, Bonstock would not deploy more combat forces.

Latyaqi troops were now mostly in control in Umm Qairan, as well as most of the country. The insurgency was in it's last throws, but it can be expected that the last few groups of extremists may continue isolated attacks for years to come. They could never take on the whole Latyaqi army, and any future insurgent attacks would be sure to be doomed to failure. The Latyaqi army is now 125,000 strong, all of which is professional soldiers independent of any support from allied nations- including logistics. The Latyaq Prime Minister has asked that all allied nations withdraw at least half their troops.

Bonstocknian intelligence sources were tipped off by a local civilian about the whereabouts of the Bonstocknian pilot. The civilian was promptly given 20,000 US dollars and twenty goats as a reward. He seemed very disinterested about the money, but was very excited about the goats.

Sixteen counter-terrorist operatives from the Bonstocknian Special Services (BSS) flew in aboard four OH-54 Kiowa scout helicopters, and rappelled onto the roof. Eight of them blocked off the exits, and four took up positions on the roof to snipe off any insurgants who came near. The remaining four entered the warehouse to find the pilot.

"Easy, there, Harvey," another operative said. Checking around, he got up to look for any stray insurgants, and then saw the Bonstocknian pilot.

"You allright, sir?" he asked.

"Fine," the pilot said. "Let's get the hell out of here."

He was loaded on one of the choppers, and the Bonstocknians flew back to their base.

Meanwhile, more Bonstocknian troops were being withdrawn. By the end of the week, all major Bonstocknian combat units had been withdrawn. Bonstocknian soldiers soon loaded up the rest of their equipment onto ships, and sailed them away. Finally, a remaining battalion of MPs handed the Bonstocknian airbase over to the Laytaqis, and then loaded into C-17s and flew off. Bonstock had completely withdrawn.

The insurgents could only get a few foreign fighters, most of them Islamic zealots who were angry about the Mosque. Most Muslims in the world are more angry that the insurgents used the Mosque as a fortress in the first place, and for every foreigner that came to help the insurgents, there was 2 who came to help the LSF.

The insurgents never got recruits from Latyaq. They lived through their reign of teror, and had great hatred for them. They only helped the Latyaqis.

The Imperial now would no longer be taken by such surprise and within a minute helicopters arrived and brought in a regiment of Special Ops to relieve their comrades.

Your major military bases would all be rubble by now, as bombs and missiles rained on them, and anything in central Latyaq is under siege. Scrambling choppers would be rather difficult as I did bomb the bases, and the planes would still need a fleet reasonably close, and you did not send any to the area, or around it, and I believe you are reasonably far from Latyaq. Also, Al Iskandariyah has been practucally taken, so Latyaq is already 50% Griffincrest. Other than that, anything near east Latyaq was mopped up by choppers after they were bombed. To point out my own army has army defenses put up to defend against missile and air attacks which you failed to account for. As well, you failed to account for a number of my legions which I have stated were stationed in the capital. Also, to point out my bases are in the interior of the country and the tomahawks would not be able to reach them for a few minute allowing me to scramble a large number of my fighters and helicopters, as Tomahawks only fly at 880 Km. In conclusion you just god modded and I hoped that would have realized that I was being being fairly nice by allowing your attack to go on and just minimizing my causalities and making damage done to the structures preventing a full attack. You were god modding because you failed to account for my defenses, radar, and just believed that you attack without me being able to organize an counter attack by my own forces due to you not using stealth air craft.

As for the capital I have a number of legions each of which would have a strong base to hold out from so they fighter outside the administrative district yet still in that district I maintain a legion in the area of the Latyaqi Presidential Palace because of the rebels attempt to kill my Emperor. Also, to tell you need to account for the many thousands of Latyaqi that are in the capital when you the fight for it spreads.

The Scandinvans for the most part had managed to save a large number of their fighter craft, but they needed to repair their runways before they could deploy them…OOC: I have said that I have suffered a good deal of casualties, but I was able to save large number of my fighters that either had been quickly repaired or had not been damaged by the attacks. Most of my artillery did survive the assault, but I do agree that those would have to either be repaired or cleaned before they are used, as I have said my last artillery barrage was made up of my hidden artillery and those that could be used that were out in the open. In the capital I am picturing it has a battle royale with your forces and my forces fighting all over the city as my forces were not entirely prepared for the bombardment or this new fight, but they are organized enough to still fight on especially the areas around my bases in the city as they still are strategically important to my forces still and they hosted large numbers of my solders before being bombarded.

"Your loss pal, you ain't got air support or a navy" the commander said.

Around the country, all mercenaries and RG-20's recieved the order of "Golden Eagle". They all new what to do. Griffincrest mercenaries, on patrol in Al Iskandariyah and around the country, quickly turned their weapons on the Latyaqi and Scandinavian soldiers they were on patrol with. Many of the enemies were taken by surprise and did not even have time to counter attack. From the east, a wave of Corporate troops quickly spilled over into the Sacndinavian and Latyaqi controlled areas of the country. Gnats and F-4's dropped precision guided munitions from high in the clouds down on enemy positions, quickly disabling the defenses of the unsuspecting troops, as the Ka-52 attack helicopters buzzed by to mop up what survived before the taks and infantry came through.

In Al Iskandariyah, Griffincrest mercenaries had been given permission to defend the administrative district by Latyaqi authorities earlier in the conflict. This allowed them to immediatly capture almost all of the Latyaqi government officials right in the begiining, as soon as gunfire broke out. In the harbor, the Chieftian opened up a devastating volley into the city, while the Um al Maradims and Sovremenney destroyers opened up with equally fierce volleys into Scandinavian and Latyaqi ships docked there.

Out at sea, 4 stealth ships had been waiting, invisible to radar, for this moment. As soon as "Golden Eagle" was announced, each launched 5 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the major Scandinavian bases aroun the country.

In Um Qairan, a massive ambush was sprung as G7 cannons and the cannons on the Behemoth II's and Mercury's opened up seemingly without warning on the Scandinavian forces, while the bullets of the mercenaries and RG-20's, as well as the Mercury's top guns, tore into the infantry. F-4's dropped laser guided smart bombs over concentrations of Scandinavian vehicles and artillery. Across the country, Griffincrest soldiers seized cities and towns they were supposed to be protecting. The government was ordered to surrender, or face a quick war.The commander of the Scandinvan legions pulled back to his lines and ordered for the full scale assault to begin on Um Qairan with all the soldiers that could stand. At his order all the standing soldiers of the legions began with every soldiers and armored vehicles at their disposal. As well, the mobile artillery that they had just set up did suffer damage, but still about half of the artillery launched a rather powerful barrage on Um Qairan. (OOC: A number of my forces have been immobilized, but my forces have begun the assault on Um Qairan in the face of the enemy assault.)

Throughout Latyaq the Scandinvan soldiers were initially surprised by the sudden treachery of the mercenaries were pushed back in a number of locations due to them being outnumbered and losing their control. Yet, the larger convoys began a vicious fight to the last man because they were commanded by the more experienced officers and a number of veteran soldiers were most often placed in command of the leading and backward positions of the convoy. As well, the Imperial High Command began to organize the main legions across the country for a massive response to their attack…

The Imperial forces in Al Iskandariyah were warned about the impeding missiles coming at them and they quickly managed to move to reroute command to the smaller bases and begin an initial evacuation. But, the missiles did hit and for the most part hit buildings making the buildings no longer usable or destroyed or damaged armored vehicles, yet before the missiles hit they had managed to get out most of the base personal and along with only about a third of their armored, with the rest either being blocked inside the base by the rubble from the air attacks and weapons barrage. As well, in the rest of the city Scandinvan soldiers moved in to prevent those areas from being seized. Also, in the administrative district Imperial soldiers dug in at the presidential palace preparing for a large and long fight against the probable corporate assault on them.

To counterattack the mercenary air forces the Scandinvan fighters patrolling the fighters around the bases engaged them or their escorts (?) in a brave assault on them. Also, the fighters began to be scrambled very quickly in the hopes of being able to provide air cover and prevent them from being destroyed or damaged by enemy bombings or missile assaults while they were on the ground, yet already the enemy raids had damaged some of their air craft and runways. As well, eighty kilometers out a large Scandnvan fleet had gotten news of the assault and began to steam towards the shores of Latyaq and they began to launch fighter craft in order to provide air cover for their brother and sisters on the land fighting. Further, they also dispatched a number of quick frigates ahead of the main forces to clear the harbor of all enemy forces.

OOC: Alright, is this good? By the reason why I did not post my casualties are not much higher is because I just rping that the battle across the country is just beginning.

OOC: :)

The F-4's and Gnats quickly began loosing rockets and ATA missiles at the Scandinavian fighters as they took to the sky. Massive mortar attacks rained down on what was left of most of the larger bases, and the mainstay of the mercenary army spilled over into the rest of Latyaq from out of the corporate controlled east. Ka-52's and Mi-24's were quickly taking to the skies to attack retreating forces. At Al-Iskandariyah, a platoon of 12 Mercury's spearheaded the assault on the Presidential Palace, followed by a force of mercenaries. A shell from the Chieftan slammed into the palace, blowing off a chunk. The pocket battleship continued its bombardment of Scandinavian positions around the city, as mercenaries and Scandinavian forces waged heated gunbattles around the city.

The undamaged Scandinvan fighters continued to be launched in the face of the continued assaults from the air which had destroyed quite a number of the other landed aircraft. To support their air craft the missile defenses were activated and launched guided missiles as the corporate air craft. The Scandivan fighters from the fleet began to arrive over the Latyaqi capital and provided support for their comrades on the ground.

At the Presidential palace the Scandinvan in the face of the assault had loss a number of their soldiers, but they continued to prepare for the upcoming attack from the mercenary forces. As well, in the harbor a few of the fast Scandinvan frigates had arrived and the enemy pocket battleship in the harbor and at first they were dismayed by it, but bravely four Imperial frigates began to attack so to deter fire from the city unto their own ships in a brave act in support of their kin fighting on the land. Throughout Al Iskandariyah the Imperial soldiers kept up their fight and High Command began to organize their attacks to be more efficient and for the Scandinvan soldiers now began to assail strategic points to soften them up for an upcoming by the Scandinvan legions that had begun to move in on Al Iskandariyah.

In the Griffincrest controlled regions, Mercury's equipped with loudspeakers, drove around blaring "We are saving you. Your government funded the insurgency to increase foreign aid and build their military. They are the enemy, not us"

The Chieftan turned both of its four barrled 8-inch railguns towards the frigates and blassted away. The rest of the 4 and 6 inch railguns continued pumping into Scandinavian and Latyaqi positons.

A number of planes had been destroyed, but the ones that were not were relaying the missile positions to the stealth ships, who launched volleys of Tomahawks at them, or to the crews of the Mongoose and G7 artillery, who shelled them. The planes continued to get into bitter dogfights in the skies, and a few rebels were also getting involved, hiding outside of Scandinavian airbases, and firing stingers as planes were leaving.

As more legions were leaving towards Al Iskandariyah, that made it easier for the Griffincrest forces coming over the border

The Scandinvan armada was now only a few miles from Al Iskandariyah and now they had gained the news of the stealth craft from the frigates and had ordered a new number of the carrier planes to start the search from them and when they found them to attack them with their heavier missiles. As well, the frigates in the capital’s harbor returned fire with their main 3’inch guns and with a number of torpedoes aimed at the pocket battleship.

With their tomahawks aimed at the outskirts of the bases more fighter craft now began to be launched along with a large number of helicopters which were now being sent to support their ground positions, but due to the increased bombardment large number of base personal were killed and about a third of their anti-air defenses destroyed.

In Al Iskandariyah the Scandinvan soldiers held their ground in the face of building up casualties and the bombardment. Yet, they continued with their offensive in the capital despite encountering ever more resistance. For that the moving legions had along large number of enemy soldiers to move into the outer areas of the country which forced High Command to send two of the twelve legions moving in on Al Iskandariyah to go back to the border and fight the corporate forces along and near the Latyaq border.

5,000 Anti-Tank/Humvee Infantry
300 tanks
400 armored vehicles

50 Helicopters

IC: Over 200 Mongoose artillery pieces, 150 G7's, 75 BM-21's, and 75 Katyushas, all began blowing the hell out of major Scandinavian bases within 50 miles of the eastern Corporate zone. 120 Ka-52's and Mi-24's also flew over the border, laying waste to smaller infantry outposts, firbases, and border guards. On land, dozens of HY-2's were being prepared for the Scandinavian fleet, and 20 more Tomahawks were launched, this time at the Latyaqi forces. IC: The Scandinvan bases now having been for the most part emptied out did not cause many casualties to the bases, but it did cause significant damage to the structures and buildings inside the major bases, but the command structure had now been transferred to the smaller Scandinvan bunkers and bases throughout Latyaq. In response to this attack the Scandinvan artillery positions, that still functioned, began a large bombardment on any known corporate positions in Umm Qairan and in the capital also.

As the Scandinavian forces fled their bases, IED's set up by rebels all along the highways began exploding, sending fireballs and shrapnel high into the sky. The position of large retreating groups were called in by the remaining rebels, who looked like ordinary civilians on a cell phone. Soon, dozens of napalm and HE shells from the Mongooses rained on the large groups. Choppers were also sent up to attack the now baseless Scandinavian forces. As the 732 Scandinavian planes appeared on radar, a number of SA-11's opened up, and mobile flak cannons tore into the sky. The Chieftan in the harbor had taken 2 torpedoes, but countermeasures destroyed the other two. It was now listing dangerously as crews attempted to bump out water, but kept on firing. Huge portions of Al Iskandariyah, untouched by the rebelion, were now being set ablaze by the massive railguns on the Chieftan. A freighter, out in international waters, flying colors of a neutral nation appeared, and seemed to be dumping boxes into the water. These boxes contained more cruise missiles, and were picked up by the stealth ships, who continued to launch volley after volley at Scandinavian artillery and remaining airbases. Those planes would need to land eventually. One also launched 5 Tomahawks at the carriers of the opposing fleet then returned to stealth, hidden both to the eye and to radar.

The great Scandinvan flotilla had now arrived with all the colors of the Empire flying upon the sea. Now had come with that fleet the most vicious general in the whole of the Empire escorted by two legions gad selected by the Emperor for the service of his close relatives. The fleet’s four large battleships now released a massive barrage upon the Chieftain with all their twenty of their 16 inch turrets. As well, their torpedo boats began to rapidly move in upon the Chieftain to launch an attack upon their enemy.

The Scandinvan military now under the command of the new general became more brutal in their operations and launched a massive high explosive attack using precise weapons systems to target Corporate positions in mass with a direct attack of powerful artillery and high-powered bombs against mostly corporate positions and the corporate bases. As well, the Scandinvan fighter were able to mostly avoid the flax cannons as they had not descended to fighting level yet and they also were still flying at very high speeds being barely within eye sight of people on the ground. The Scandinvan infantry also continued their organized battle and began to attempt take advantage of the fact their enemy fought them to be pulling back and they began to launch attacks at any force that they came across. Yet, the choppers were not very effective in the cities (where most of my evacuated bases are) and out of the cities the choppers were meet with missiles and RPG’s. The Chieftain erupted into a ball of flames as it was momentarily thrown from the sea. From behind it, about a dozen Um al Maradim assault ships opened up at the offending battleships, firing 2 Sea Skuar ASM's each. From the shore, the HY-2 positions set up earlier opened up, sending 50 HY-2's towrds the enemy vessels. The stealth ships took their part as well, firing 20 Tomahawks at what seemed to be a flag ship, followed by 8 torpedoes, equiped with a powerful saw that navigates its way through the enemy ship. (Ever seen James Bond, Tomorrow Never Dies?). On the ground, Artillery barrages smashed into the landing zone of the new legions, and Cyanogen Chloride was released, which is capable of penetrating gas masks. OOC: Lets get serious, your guys have been wearing their own self contained air system this whole time. They are out in a desert, and by now their air would be out, your acting ridiculous with that.

OOC: The legions which I am referring to are the two legions which were unloaded from the fleet to begin the attack upon your forces in the area of the docks of the capital. As well, nearly all my other soldiers have only gas masks and in only a number of occurrences have my forces have mostly been equipped with their own air supplies now. Those two legions that I have just landed in the capital were armed in such a way because they are part of an elite group of legions that directly serve my Emperor as his own personal force and the High Command only planned for them to wear hazmad suits only until they establish a foot hold for supplies to be brought in from water on.

How long does their air supploes last for? And what damge did the attack on your fleet do?
The Scandinvans
18-07-2006, 05:05
OOC: Their air support will last for the initial stages of the attack and as for my fleet sorry about not posting the results they are my one destroyer sunk, two frigates sunk, three cruisers damaged, and one battle ship damaged.

You only took that from 150 HY-2's, 40 Tomahawks, 24 Sea Skua missiles, and 8 torpedoes?
The Scandinvans
18-07-2006, 05:28
OOC: Yeah, what you really got were my lighter strike ships, basically more modern torpedo boats and returning landing craft, which suffered dozens of them being suck and pretty well damaged by the strikes.
Blackhelm Confederacy
18-07-2006, 17:36
OOC: The 40 Tomahawks were targeting what looked like a flagship, so that would be the biggest ship in your fleet. And how many of these torpedo boats went down?
The Scandinvans
18-07-2006, 18:00
OOC: Quite a few dozen, yet as for my main battleship it has suffered extensive damage and maybe will sink unless if get repaired soon and in the mean time is not battle capable.

About a dozen Um al Maradims were blasted apart, but the remaining dozen craft sped at top speed at the fleet, blasting away with their Sea Skua's and pumping away with their 40mm main guns. From shore, the HY-2 barrage was continually pouring down. The stealth ships loosed another barrage at the flagship, and once again dissapeared.

On shore a number of corporate positions that were around Al Iskandariyah were torn apart, leaving a small passage north of the city. The Mongoose and G7's continued their barrage, also now firing naplam at the newly landed soldiers. 10 Mongoose's also began firing HE rounds at ships out by the harbor, just to add to the chaos.

The Presidentil Palace was painted by infra-red, and in minutes 2 Ka-52's made a huge strafe of the Scandinavian guards still alive. The first unloaded with its chain gun, and the second pounded away with their rockets.

The Scandinavian planes would soon need to land, and with no bases, the soon unarmed fighters were falling from the sky in large numbers.

Umm Qairan was still a blood bath. Gnats constantly blasted artillery positions, as well as retreating Scandinavians, and other Mongoose and G7 positions were assisting in the slaughter. Mercury LBT's were charging into whatever Scandinavian lines had not already broken, and rumbling along behind them came the masive Behemoth II tanks.

The Scandinvan soldiers that landed on the shore suffered quite a few casualties as they fought to seize the shoreline. To support them120 Abram tanks were now being landed to allow them to continue their campaign inland. As well, the Scandivans now began a heavy naval barrage on the corporate areas of the city.

Out at sea the Scandinvan launched drone planes to begin to follow the stealth ship. Also, the heavy battleship began to sink slowly allowing the crew plenty of time to flee to other ships, but thankfully the organization of the Scandinvan navy allowed the command to be put onto a different ship with little confusion as a result.

The Scandinvan soldiers in the Presidential palace launched a counter attack with surface to air missiles. As well, the majority of the soldiers stood out the strike because they had for now retreated to their fortified locations of the palace.

In the air the Scandinvan fighters began to refuel either on the Scandinvan aircraft carries, by refueling using a number of modified bombers, or using a number of the Scandinvan air bases which were not being used and were located in the highlands.

In Umm Qairan the Scandinvan held their ground with great courage and skill against the merc assaults. The Scandinvan launched a large missile assault against the corporate air craft. In the city the Scandinvan lines now began to move forward with the support of the Abram and Scandinvan Crusader tanks.

OOC: By the Scandinvan High Command has rallied the Imperial forces throughout Latyaq.

OOC: This is an Iraq style country if I'm not mistaken there are no highlands. And I thought you abandoned all of your bases. And the stealth ship can only be seen when it fires. Anyway...

The choppers were both destroyed. Seeing that the Scandinvan forces were not going to leave the palace, a massed BM-21 rocket barrage was called in, levelling the building.

The 120 Abrams on shore were going to be entering an armor battle with 100 Behemoth II's. Also, as they were unloading, hundreds of shells, and now BM-21 rockets, began falling heavily upon the men and vehicles. Gnats swept overhead, strafing the beach with rockets and machine gun fire.

The Um al Maradims should be doing considerable damage, as they are now at rather close range, under most of the Scandinvan big guns, and pumping away with their 40 mm and Sea Skuas. Another barrage of 75 HY-2's were aimed for the carriers, and loosed.

On the ground, Scandinvan advances were met by the devastating combined attacks of 500lb bombs, Katyusha and BM-21 rockets, and Mongoose and G7 shells.

OOC: Actually quite a few areas of Iraq are pretty mountainous such as seen on this map: http://academic.evergreen.edu/g/grossmaz/iraqelevationlg.jpg

IC: The Scandinvan soldiers upon hearing the incoming missile barrage began to pull into the areas of the palace with thicker walls and the rest fell back into the courtyards. Yet, in the attack a quarter of the soldiers were either killed or wounded by the attack.

The Abrams loss about a dozen of their tanks due to the assault with the majority of people hit were Imperial soldiers that had been hold the beach for them. In the air they were supported by F-18s. As well, the Scandinvan fleet launched another barrage upon the corporate positions.

The Um al Maradims (OOC: Should be trajeectable by Drone planes wither following their wake, using infrared, radar, or by just basic tracking because they are surface craft and the weather seems to be pretty clear.) were now bombarded by the Scandinvan fleet again ,after they sank another destroyer, with heavy guns and with Cruise Missiles.

In response to the attack in the ruined city the Scandinvans launched a heavy mortar and artillery barrage using high explosive shells upon the corporate camps outside the city and on their fortified positions as well.

OOC: Is it to late for Bintic to step up to the plate and help the government in Latyag?
Blackhelm Confederacy

OOC Yes, Bintic, it is. And Scandivans I stand corrected about the highlands, but I just leveled the compound with a massive rocket barrage. Nothing can survive that, you were all inside the building, you said it yourself. Just admit defeat here man.

As soon as the Scandinvan mortars and such opened up, they were immediatly silenced by a huge HE barrage from the Mongoose's.

On the shore, anything surviving would take a miracle. Four different types of artillery, bombs, rockets, mortars, bullets, and tank shell slammed into anything that moved.

The Scandinvan soldiers upon hearing the incoming missile barrage began to pull into the areas of the palace with thicker walls and the rest fell back into the courtyards. Yet, in the attack a quarter of the soldiers were either killed or wounded by the attack.OOC: Alright, to point out you did not even attack the palace with bunker bombs and thus toy could not breach the inner stronger places of the palace. As well, rockets are generally not that powerful and when launched using en mass from launchers are not that powerful and those from helicopters cannot be that heavy due to weight reasons. Also, I states that my men who did not fall back into the thicker areas of the palace fell into the courtyards of the palace which should be hard for a helicopter to hit because they are narrow and also would be hard to hit using rocket launcher positions due to trajectories.

Also, to point out the mortars are light and can be quite well carried by a signal man and thus you CANNOT hope to destroy every single last one in just one attack. As well, you have failed to state the casualties caused by my attacks upon your positions and soldiers. Furthermore, on the beaches my men should have moved due to the fact the urban sprawl would make them have to move into the city and the shore would only cause a small part of my forces to be destroyed and by now nearly all my forces are now in the city so you attack would not really affect my forces severely this is also due to them knowing a counterattack would be only a matter of time due to them being elite soldiers.

OOC: My men are keeping you on shore. Your gunna have to fight your way off.

IC: Rockets continued to slam dow into any moving Scandinvan soldier on the shore. Also, the survivors in the palace were not going to survive for long. The GSF mercenaries were ordered to pull back, and Cyanogen Chloride was dispersed via canisters and artillery shells all over the Presidential Compound. (There is no way these guys have their own "self contained air systems")

Also, HY-2's continue to slam into ship at sea, and artillery leveled any signs of Scandinvan forces. No matter how reorganized they became, without a steady base, or even a solid place to mass their forces, they would be unable to mount a successful attack.

The mercenary general seds this message to the Scandinvan commander:

Your forces are not faring well. I suggest we devisea pease treaty in which we partition Latyaq into East and West. My men will keep the East, yours the West. Agreed?

OOC: By the way, you seem to have barely seemed to lost any of your military capability so I decided to play my own cards.

IC: The general of the Scandinvans did not respond to the transmission, save an ancient flute and song tune that was played when Valgard went to war, and just left the radio ways silent as if something had been planned by the High Command.

In response to the continued attacks high altitude bombers began raining down bunker bombs upon the enemy positions in the capital no longer having orders to hold back their full power. As well, stealth bombers, the F-117 that is used by the American military, began to rain downs tons of explosives down upon corporate artillery emplacements.

The fleet in the harbor began to launch high explosive shells unto all the corporate positions in the capital with enough fire power to level large parts of it (OOC: Just prescribing to the methods of eliminating urban areas employed during the leveling of cities) On the beaches the men launched a huge push into the city employing everything that was at their disposal, (OOC: Leaving my actual causality count into I take the beach due the reason that now there is basically to many other things to really be able to do that) To support them marines were being landed to reinforce their positions.

At the palace a very great part of the soldiers now were either died, dying, or severely by the continued attack. Only a few dozen of the soldiers had managed to get to the armories that held the has mad suits which had been filled at the start of the rebellion in Latyaq.

The horns of Valgard (OOC: The Empire that the current one evolved from) thundered throughout the country that gave hope to all soldiers that remained loyal to the hope of victory. 25 legions from across the country now began to strike at the corporate forces (OOC: So far you have only been fighting an equal number of soldiers to yours that had either been in the capital or in Umm Qairan. The reason for this is because these legions had been scattered throughout Latyaq and were not stationed at any of the major bases due to the rebellion that had forced them to go to the very furthest ends of the country. As well, you had been fighting my armies stationed in the eastern part of the country and around the major cities. The reason why you had not been fighting these soldiers is due to the reason that when you stroked at the bases High Command they were in a period of confusion due to the fact they were only concreting on the forces that were in the cities and from the bases. To prevent you from saying this a godmod my forces outnumbered you by three times and thus you could not be able to destroy all my armies so easily. By the way this time my men are performing a take no prisoner policy and will go all out against your forces. Overall this is two times soldiers as you have and they are well trained and well equipped soldiers.)

OOC: Where are you pulling bombers from, your carriers cannot support them and you have no airbases.

The Gnats and F-4's were quick to engage the bombers as they came, firing rockets, or getting up close and personal and letting loose with their guns.

In Al Iskandariyah, the city was reduced to rubble, as a few hundred mercenaries, and their burning vehicles lay in the street. HY-2's continued firing at the Scandinvan fleet, an the IR guidance directed them all at the larger ships that were currently firing.

At the palace, the 120 mercearies poured into the ruined compound to kill the surviving Scandinvans

OOC: I can give you three reasons why you have to accept defeat here:
- Military - You are losing thousands of men here. It is not worth the cost to your military to keep fighting here, especially after losing a ton of planes, and your fleets flagship
-Economic - These soldiers most likely have other jobs back home, which are losing employees. If not, their mourning families do, and need to take off for the funerals, thus effecting business
- Political - Most important reason. This is like a mega Vietnam for your men. They have no real reason to be here, as this fight does not effect your homeland at all. People are going to be pissed off at the fact that you are losing their friends and family members in some far off nation they know nothing about. Also, your people, if I remember correctly, are not very fond of arabs. They would not be happy to know that their loved ones are dying to protect people who they dislike. I'm tempted to create a thread about massive anti-war riots in your country.
The Scandinvans

OOC: Basically, I am using high altitude B-52 bombers that have a ranger of 11,000 miles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-52#Specifications_.28B-52H.29) and I am also using F-117s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-117#Specifications_.28F-117_Nighthawk.29) both of which have extremely long range capabilities more then enough to be launched safely from my bases to strike at your positions in Latyaq.

To point out while you are at it your fighters will have difficulty in getting into range of my B-52s due to them being so high and also it would be hard to get into track of my F-117s due to their difficulty to track on radar thus your pilots would have to rely on sight to follow them and even then it would difficult to spot them due to the high speed that often fly.

To counter your points:
Military: My army is not even losing a great deal of its soldiers as I have literally thousands of legions at my disposal and any man lost could be easily replaced. Yet, the fight thing will cause me to have to rebuild which will just be a small dent in my massive defense and law and order budgets.
Economic: These soldiers are all professional soldiers and thus cannot have any other job at the time. As well, my nations has billions of people a few thousand mourning families will barely even affect it.
Political: There is nothing like mass propaganda to keep a people content. As well, my people are a traditional people and will not question the will of their Emperor which is as small as a bit of spilled milk in the eyes of the populace of massive population. Also, my people are used to a war like society and my people have also come to generally regard you as the aggressor since you struck first and there is nothing more like the one to fire the first bullet to make a people desire revenge.

IC: As the battles continued a number of Imperial legions began to march unto Al Iskandariyah to begin the mopping up of corporate resistance in the capital. Also, a number of advance guards went ahead to begin to rescuer the admin district.

In the ruins of the palace the survivors either drew their daggers to comment suicide or they launched an attack on the mercs pouring into the palace.

In the air the B-52s were the ones suffering the casualties and in result they crashed to the ground. Yet, in support a number F-18 Hornets went to engage the enemy aircraft with the support of their own Scandinvan F-4s.
