"Thanks! I see her room." Meh... took the long way to get here it looks. Luke entered his room and tossed everything on the bed. He stuck his head out and queried the guards.

"How are meals and other things handled here? And is there anything on the agenda until the party?"

"In your room you will find a wall terminal with a very simple display, use the touchscreen to order something that looks palatable. I might suggest the suckling Atul, or the roast Basik. As for the agenda before the party, there will be tours of the major historic sites of the League in the next 3 days, as well as opportunities to establish ambassadorial relations, and time to converse amongst yourselves. There will also be a trip to the city to get costumes for those delegates that lack them."

Stopping at the sound of the voice, Kunra turned and cast an appraising look upon the admiral. Not quite the same as some old holovids showed, but impressive nonetheless. "The famous Admiral Spoor. One of the few of your kind to withstand the ravages of the Embrace of Pain. Quite impressive. I am Kunra Esh, grandson of the great -albeit misguided- Shoon-mi Esh, and Emperor of the Yuuzhan Vong. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"And it is an honor to meet you. I was worried that I would have been thrown into a cage with boring politicians with nothing to do but lie to each other with petty boasts of greatness. It does me good to see that there are at least equals who are present here today so I am honored to be in good company. It has come to my attention that you recently had problems with pirates. Tell me, has the situation been resolved?"

President Harris was permitted out onto the landing pads just moments after the debacle was cleared up. If the fools couldn't follow their laws, they didn't deserve to stay.

"Well General, I can see why you called me out here. Tell me, Admiral I believe it was, if you would, how did you come by that Treecat?"

"I could ask you the same thing, but I would prefer to know your name, rank, and the proper manner in which to address you first. I am Admiral Honor Stephanie Harrington, commander of the Miehmish 8th Fleet, and Steadholder Harrington. You may address me as you choose. All Nimitz is telling me, and all that I am sensing is a great deal of confusion. So tell me sir, before this conversation continues, who are you?"

Now, it's obvious to me that there are differences between our friends here, for one thing Samantha is certainly larger than your Nimitz. Now, can you tell me where you got him, or where he got you?"

"Heh. That is usually how these diplomatic missions go, indeed. Judging by the incident on the landing pad earlier, however, I believe this meeting will be far from boring.... As for the pirate situation, it has indeed been resolved. I only wish there had been more of them however... We are desperately short on "foreign" labour..."

The Balroggan Emperor was led towards the gues quarters, the Mardukans were already waiting outside his door when they arrived. If he wanted to go out and visit the other diplomats one of them would accompany him the entire way, not because they didn't trust him, but because keeping the delegates safe was in the hands of the Solari, any dead delegate was a smear on their honor, and the honor of the Vashin as well.

"A pity. It seems we hold different ideas on how to handle pirates though I do see the usefulness of your idea. I must convey such an idea to the his highness, but I'm afraid that will cause many new recruits to miss out on their fun and enjoyment. Such lesser individuals do pose good target practice. But if you still lack proper foreign labor, perhaps we can find some lesser colony of sorts. This universe is full of those with large egos but small might to back it up. It won't be long before the flames of war are rekindled and both of our problems can be solved."

"Excellent. Thank you very much!" Luke shut the door. Man, it would suck to have that job... babysitting delegates like me. He unpacked as much as he normally did and hit the bed. No Endorse jump drives were very rough on the system, and he really needed the rest.

"We haven't got any records from before landing either. They were all destroyed when we landed. There was a systems failure, but we DO have the ship the colonists arrived in. It's part of tomorrows "early history of the League" tour for all of the Delegates."

"Then I guess I will have to wait. I am getting the feeling that this may prove interesting. If my suspicions are right I may have to make a VERY long after action report after this one. Since we know this is going to be settled tomorrow, could I possibly be shown to my suite, those landings are not the most fun way to do anything."

A short call went out on the speakers and comms in each of the rooms, and at each intersection:

"Apologies, but I feel somewhat ill after the trip and wish to remain here to finish unpacking and readying your costume, with your permission."

She nodded. "Granted. I'll leave one of your brothers here with you."

She left, taking Venta with her to the landing pad.

Luke Hodges was in the bathroom shaving as the message rang out. "CRAP!" The razor bit into the skin ever so slightly. "Gods! That's loud!" He dialed down the volume, finished shaving, and placed a small drop of syntheskin on the wound, sealing it immediatly.

He got dressed and was downstairs within five standard. As he was walking towards the pad, he thought he saw a familiar face in the Kaymirilian delegate. "Umm, hello Miss. I do believe we've met before. Snake Eaters, correct? The arm healed quite nicely."

The New Realm will be sending a representative to the Solarin League, if you so permit. Please transmit co-ordinates, if you wish for us to come.

The transmission was a small one, as tight-beam transmissions, that were sent across galaxies, were fast, but they could contain a very small amount of data. As soon as it reached the required location, the transmission would split into several types of slower, more easily detectable messages.

Nhur-Galladu hovered in a meditative trance when the message came over the intercom. He lowered to the floor and stood up.

“Hmmm, this might be interesting.”

He walked to the door, activated the command to open, and stepped out into the hall. The guards were outside the door standing at attention. He knew before the door opened they were relaxed but he let them have the illusion that none were wise to the ways of the military.

Nhur-Galladu started walking down the hall towards the landing pads, heavily leaning upon his staff as he walked.

"I have not had the privelege of travelling to Snake Eaters, for neither business nor pleasure, nor can I say that I have before met a representative of a country that carries your accent."

Why would he mistake her for someone he...wait...

"Perhaps you recall my younger sister, Talraena, who accompanied our cousin the Valsharess to Snake Eaters at that time, en route to Gronde. I am Sildara d' Kestal, Kaymirilian representative here, my first official trip outside of the boundaries of my nation."

No Endorse has been our ally even longer, since the days of the Federation.

Eager to meet more of the delegates, Kunra made his way swiftly towards the landing pad. Once there, instead of mingling directly with the rest of the delegates, however, he instead opted to stay on the edge of the group and observe for the time being. Sildara felt what could best be termed as a presence on the outskirts of the group, and turned to look.

Nhur-Galladu...Emperor of Balrogga.

Balrogga had long been allied with Kaymiril, and the Envoy went over to introduce herself, making the partial, arm-spread bow customary to a Kaymirilian meeting someone of greater rank.

"Gre'as'anto lu' verve dro, and greetings to you from the Immortal Realm of Kaymiril, Emperor Nhur-Galladu."

As the Mardukans were leading the Animarnians to the Landing Pads, the Pinnaces were screaming down. AG systems and lift fans brought the vessels in at a much smoother rate than the Miehmish vessels of the same name, but the similarities were clear. They might as well have been different model uyears of the same vessel.

They looked out at the city from the window, it really was beautiful a very sunny planet with lots of sky rises and old Architecture combined an odd combination but one that worked. Elaine watched in fascination as they waited for the shuttle to take off or be approached by other diplomats

The two Pinnaces took off, one holding the delegates and the Solari, and the other carrying a full platoon of Mardukan Guards. If the Saints decided to try anything while the dignitaries were vulnerable, they would be in for a rude awakening.

The Pinnace with the marines set down first, spreading out in a perimeter, but already it would be obvious to anyone who had ever seen a Miehmish vessel before exactly what they were seeing. It was massive, 4 miles long, and obviously studded with weapons. An ancient, battered, and all too obviously MIEHMISH Metal Militia Class Dreadnought.

Written in mile high letters on the fore section were three massive words. Ominous, succint, and very menacing.

As the Delegates landed they knew exactly what they wre seeing, or so it was hoped, because they were standing directly beneath the port Yamato Battery of the Master of Puppets, one of the most dangerous, and decorated vessels in the old Terran Fleets.

Spoor leaned over to get a good glimpse out of one of the windows. What she saw was indeed a massive ship armed to the teeth. Several thoughts and images flahsed through her mind. Some weren't exactly flattering. "The master of puppets is it? How interesting. I here that they name their ships after a type of music that used to be popular centuries ago. At least they have a taste for history."

"Master of Puppets, Miss Spoor? THE Master of Puppets? Is that what those letters say? These glasses block my vision..." He popped the heavy glasses off for a quick look, lances of pain shooting through his eyes. "Ah yes... most interesting." At this point Luke's head was a blurr. There were hundreds of sights and sounds being cross-referenced from basic. Dozens of dots connected, and a realization began to emerge. He stood, putting his hand on the wall to steady himself as he peered out the window.

"Would the Miehmish delegation please confirm that this vessel is indeed a modified Metal Militia dreadnought called the Master of Puppets, and that this is indeed a Miehmish colony? There is no way in the Forge that this vessel could look so and not be a Metal Militia dreadnought of the Manticoran Alliance."

"It does indeed seem to be such. There is only one problem. The Puppets Program was scrapped after the Prototype was lost. Now things begin to make more sense... That does indeed appear to be THE Master of Puppets variant. This is NOT however a Miehmish colony. YET."

The diplomat's voice was quiet, yet strong enough to be heard by all.

The Kaymirilian stance had been set on the issue.

Elaine Looked at the 4 miles long ship, she was impressed; very impressed "My god; that things four time the size of an Ikari class battleship and looked far more intimidating with the huge Yamato gun ports open. The words "Master of puppets" written on the side; they had heard rumours of such ships but having only recently come out of isolationism and being attacked by the Imperial Mationbud forces meant they had little time to explore space. Elaine's thoughts drifted to the war as she wondered how long it would go on.

Admiral Hague picked up on her agitation; "something wrong?" he asked

"Just thoughts of home", she replied with a sigh.

"So you are descendants from the Miehmish?" Hague asked, they had heard of the them EVERYONE had heard of the meihmish even if there had been no contact with them until now; they both noticed a little hostility between the meihmish delegates and the League admiral..

Nhur-Galladu looked at the grounded aged wreck unimpressed. The age of oversized starships was over, ushered in by compact and more powerful smaller versions with the power to tear the old behemoths to bits. That was the age of ships the multiverse was entering. No, he was not impressed at all with the bulk before him. He was careful not to let it show.

The commotion among the passengers made him turn and look to see what was going on.

"Nor shall it be, Admiral Harrington, if the Solarin League does not wish it."

The charismatic drow made it quite clear where Kaymiril stood.

"Alright, everybody off. There are some things inside the ship that need to be seen to understand. I may be forced to ask the admiral for a better understanding of WHAT exactly we're seeing, now that we have someone that fully understands this thing."

"I should hope I understand one of these things, since I used to command Task Fleet Attitude..."

No Endorse supports you in independance. If there is trouble with the Manticorian Alliance, send word with haste to Sanctuary. We can field more than they know in your defense.

This knowledge must remain secret for now. It is harder to fight when you don't know who holds a knife at your throat, and who holds a knife by your side.

OOC: I'm going to assume the Animarnians are keeping up, just to keep this moving.

IC:

President Harris very pointedly did not removethe slip of paper from his pocket in such a public venue. He would see what it said later on, at the Palace.

"Alright. Let's go inside." The Mardukans led the way into the massive vessel, a pair of them armed with Bead Cannon entered first, and another pair armed with heavy tri-barrel cannon followed up at the rear of the group.

Admiral Harrington stepped onto the dreadnought and nearly flipped out. "What the HELL did you people do to this ship? I could climb into that hole!"

And she was correct, the bulkheads of the surrounding area were swisscheesed. Holes everywhere, both the half-melted plasma burn style, and the jagged holes made by solid slugs shattering battle steel.

"Well. Let's see how much of this old beast still runs. I think I'll try this from the bridge, and then check out engineering if I have to. Follow me people, and try not to fall in any random holes, alright?"

Admiral Harrington started off towards the bridge of the ship. Several blast doors were sealed, but the fusion plants were obviously still running, and her overrides functioned, since it was from a time when she had been an Admiral of the Dominion. This would certainly be interesting.
