The invitation went out across space:
To: All concerned Nations
From: The Solarin League, President Harris
We invite any national leader willing to join us to a Masquerade celebrating our entance into true space flight. Please, any that wish may attend, but any overly large entourages, or overly large squadrons will be turned away from our territory, we do not wish any war on this momentous occasion.
And I hope that there are not so many fools in this galaxy as I fear may be the case.

"Respond to this, see if you would like to go. It is a tiny nation..and might require aid."
Sildara d' Kestal looked at the message. "You ask me to go and judge?"
"To go and judge...to go and make contacts. Just request more information."

I am afraid that I do not understand your greeting, but I return it in full. We are a small but reasonably advanced nation, and this is a celebration of our Faster than light capability becoming smaller and more effective, meaning it is now practical for military and civilian use. Our first fleet of Tsukayama Drive vessels will be displayed at the end of the Masquerade, as well as our older intrasystem fleet. The materials composing our starship hulls have made effective faster than light exploration possible. Now that we are able we wish to display the full might of our Merchant Marine and Navy to the universe at large. We would be honored by your attendence.

There were many nations in the Galaxy, but few invited the Miehmish directly into their midst. Now it would become interesting.
Transmission to President Harris:
We would be willing to send a representative to this Masquerade. Admiral Harrington will arrive within the day. If you wish to establish relations with us we would be most amenable.

You are quite welcome to attend. The Masquerade is scheduled for one week hence, your Admiral may stay in the Palace if he wishes, any formal relationships must be dealt with after the celebrations are concluded.
"Lord Kunra, a message has arrived via Holonet relay. It is from a so-called Solarin League. They invite you to a gathering to establish relations." The messenger stood in the threshold of Kunra's private chambers, trembling in fear as most subordinates did. Kunra was a man to whom anger - murderous rage more like it - came easily. The slightest comment from a subordinate could result in a most painful death. On this occassion, however, Kunra was in a rare good mood.
"Indeed? Send a reply then. I shall attend, alone. Prepare my personal shuttle and a small honour guard. Perhaps this nation can be brought into our fold." His voice emanated from the darkness of his chamber, the source hidden. The mechanical quality of his voice, caused by an artificial voice box, coupled with the deep basso setting of his voice was enough to cause fear on it's own.

RE: Invitation
Lord Kunra, Emperor of the Yuuzhan Vong, has deigned to attend this "masquerade". He will arrive shortly in the company of a small contingent of guards aboard the shuttle Sithspawn. We hope to be able to establish formal relations on behalf of the Yuuzhan Vong and the Galactic Empire.

There will be someone attending from the Imperial Court. They will arrive shortly before the celebration.
Please prepare for their arrival

The tiny shuttle emerged smoothly from hyperspace at the edge of the system and immediately engaged it's ion engines. Course set for the appointed planet, the pilot began broadcasting a message to Solarin orbital control. "Solarin authorities, this is the shuttle Sithspawn bearing Lord Kunra. We request that you provide us with a landing pad and a designated course."

Admiral Spoor was sitting nicely in her chair with her legs crossed. The Latchkau was currently station in the Delmov System on a final check on the gaseous planet and its garrison forces. A communications craft was seen exiting the nearby sord making its way towards the Admiral's flagship.
Her chief of staff Cufadiss relayed the message to her. Spoor squeezed the bridge of her nose and sighed. "This is so so boring. I have longed for grand battles and destroying weak and inferior enemies. Unfortunatly it seems that all the great battles are now over and there is no one left to fight but boredom."
"Well admiral, HQ has just sent a message informing us that there is a party that will shortly be taking place in a new nation. You are being prompted to attend it as this will also be a chance to meet a new nation and possible others."
A finger was lifted from one edge of the nose as she opened her blood red eyes. "Perhaps that will releave the boredom. I suppose we will attend. Inform the Fatunay that they are in charge until my return."
"Yes Admiral."
"Alright Chief, move us into hyperspace and head for the party. This should be interesting."
Unbenounced to the admiral, a message was already sent to the nation about the party. Admiral Spoor was attending whether she liked it or not.
To the Solarin League:
From the Abh Empire:
The Grand Duchess Latopanyu Spoor shall be attending your party. Be prepared to receive her as she is already on the way.
Emperor Dubeusec of the Jade Throne
"Very well Solarin. Our ETA is 20 standard minutes."
The shuttle cruised through the void of space, swiftly covering the distance to the planet and entered the atmosphere. The trip from orbit to ground took only two or three minutes and the shuttle settled itself down on the landing pad softly. A minute later a hatch hissed open and a short landing ramp dropped from the nose of the shuttle.
Emerging slowly but confidently, Lord Kunra stepped into to the sun of this alien world and looked around. Taking in his surroundings with both his eyes and the Force, Kunra slowly met the gaze of each member of the welcoming party. His yellow eyes stared right through each man, as if that were not enough, he made sure to apply fairly liberal pressure through the Force pressing his own will against that of each man. He guaged the reaction of each man, testing their resolve before greeting them.
"I am Kunra, Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor of the Yuuzhan Vong. It is a -pleasure- to meet with you. I am afraid that I have not been apprised of your names..." Coupled with his cold gaze, the weight of his presence bearing down on their minds, his emotionless mechanical voice gave the man a decidedly disconcerting quality. Many faltered at the sight of him, quivered at the sound of his voice. Those who knew him well cowered in fear at his mere presence on their world. He was a man to be feared, that much was evident in all first encounters.

He was a man to be feared, that much was evident in all first encounters.
"I am president Harris, welcome to Solarin." The man was average height, and rather average appearance. The main thing that stood out was the six limbed cat on his left shoulder, and the quiet intelligence in the creatures eyes. "Please meet Samantha, my 'cat." A light almost creme color, the 'cat regarded the Yuuzhan Vong with something bordering on distaste, she began rapidly fluttering her upper true hands in a seemingly random manner, it was in fact the form of Sign they had worked out to communicate with the Treecats. [This man not good. Bad mind-glow, much anger, much hate. No trust.] President Harris regarded the 'cat and the Yuuzjhan Vong with equal ambivalence. He knew Samantha was telling the truth, but any reaction would be viewed negatively. "Samantha says hello, and we wish you welcome into the Palace."
The Marine Honor Guard saluted the Yuuzhan Vong Emperor, waiting for the signal to escort him to the rooms set aside for him.
Kunra stared down at Harris neutrally. Standing over seven feet tall, he was a giant compared to most humanoids. "As I said, a pleasure. Your world is quite breathtaking, very alive in the Force." He turned his gaze next on the unusual creature on the man's shoulder. Unlike most animals, this one had less primal thoughts. In fact, it was seemingly intelligent. He could even feel emotion, an angering emotion, but emotion nonetheless. "A most intriguing creature. Deceivingly intelligent. I can see it in it's eyes and feel it in the Force." He signalled his readyness to move toward the palace with a slight gesture and a step forward, although still holding the cat's gaze. "Are they numerous here?"

There were well over four score in the expansive meeting chamber, completly Terran for all most of them knew, and all but a few bored out of their minds. There had been weeks of talks, lectures, small political moves, and sheer partisanship, but the Inferno was slowly pulling itself together. Currently, Matthew Hunter was demonstrating a mathmatical approximation of the No Endorse foreign relations. John Archer, Minister for such affairs, watched with rapt attention. Most others were half asleep.
Suddenly, an aide burst into the room, carrying a readout. He approached a small microphone stand to the side and began speaking as Hunter cut himself off.
"We have a new signal on the inbounds, wideband access on the holowave. HavCom went crazy over it, probably just thought the Drift was expanding again." There were a few chuckles, the Haven High-Command would never live that incident down, especially with a repeat now. "They hail under a high banner, calling themselves The Solarin League. We postulate that even if the methods are not implemented, Class Three Kardashev capabilities exist." The aide then read aloud the transmission, and forwarded it to every terminal in the room.
John Archer signaled that he wished to speak as the acting High Mediator of the Rift. "Then we'll send out one of our most senior surviving diplomatic staff. Luke Hodges!" A man stood up near the back of the room. "Go to The Solarin League and meet with President Harris. See if their banner is as high as HavCom believes. You depart in three hours, tell your girlfriend and report to the docks A-SAP. With that, would the gentleman from the Laski Factions please continue?"
As Matthew Hunter began anew, Luke Hodges exited, hopping onto a single Bloodhound class cruiser and jumping out.

From: Diplomatic Envoy Luke Hodges, The Galactic Inferno of No Endorse
We have recieved your hailings, and we wish to pay you a visit. No Endorse has visited multiple nations on their eve of true spaceflight and supraluminal travel, and we have found that all parties involved gain much from the situation.
I shall be coming in a seven-hundred meter long cruiser, the NES Destiny. It is indeed armed. There have been significant problems in the No Endorse area with pirates and it is merely a precaution. It will not be used against you or your people, and I shall use a smaller shuttle to land on your planet, unless you would prefer to provide a shuttle. We hail you, and I wish to see you soon.
Hodges smiled in the dimly lit ship as he sent off the transmission. Another day on the job... Sara's going to be so pissed.

"There are many, they maintain their own rather primitive society, uness they choose a human. Then we have a relationship similar to Samantha and myself. They are indeed sentient as you may suspect. Their size often leads others to underestimate them." President Harris and the Marines stepped towards the Palace, alongside the Talaaxian Emperor.
"Indeed? I have never seen such intelligence in a wild animal, except perhaps voxyn..." Kunra trailed off with that, disappearing into the memory of events long past. For nearly a minute he relived the memories before composing himself. "Apologies... Voxyn and I have a... colourful... history. Perhaps we could speak of it later..."
Kunra glanced down at Harris, staring directly into his eyes as was his habit. It was meant to inspire fear in subordinates and generally worked. He did this now more out of force of habit than any desire to frighten the man beside him. "Tell me, Harris, how long have your people traveled the stars?"

A single word, "Confirmed," was sent in response. The No Endorse craft screamed into the system, its massive jumpwake illuminating even the most primative of sensors. The ship (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a161/anomaly149/contortedshipangles.jpg) was jet black with a split-engine design, quite odd for No Endorse designers, and had a very odd looking weapon located on its bow. No other weapons were visible. Its imposing shape almost hid the fact that it was a mere seven-hundred meters.

Luke Hodges was asleep in his personal shuttle already, feet propped up on the main contol panel. A small buzzer sounded, and he started back to consciousness. Over the intercom, a crewman spoke quickly, and then left him in peace. "We are approximatly three hours from the orbit of their homeworld at standard diplomatic speed. Recommend that you take your shuttle and jump closer. We don't want to keep them waiting."
"Confirmed crewman." The hangar door opened up to the void, and Luke pulled the small craft out of it deftly, and set coordinates for a tac-jump. The small shuttle dissapeared, reappering a mere second later almost in the planet's orbit. It then dipped into the atmosphere, landing at the specified coordinates.

A back ramp was lowered and out stepped Spoor in typical Star Forces uniform with her blue cape and long blue braid rustling in the breeze. The gold from her command saber and the silver of her double winged tiarra glinted in the light as she made her way down on to the ground. Blood red eyes scanned the area for any who awaited her.

The Prime Minister turned towards the second shuttle. "And here is the second guest. I assume you are the diplomat from the..umm...Abh I believe it was?" The Marines had relaxed their salute when they got a practically unnoticable signal from William, now they saluted again as the second diplomat emerged.

The second Ambassador was greeted by the Prime Minister, and a second Honor Guard of Marines. "I am Prime Minister William Alexander, welcome to Solarin."
Luke stepped out of the shuttle, squinting in the light and smoothing his suit. "This is quite a lovely planet," Luke pulled a pair of dark sunglasses out from within his suit, rapidly placing them over his eyes. "Ah, that's better. The bay was quite spectacular while I descended. I hovered over it for a few seconds, I hope that I didn't disrupt any air traffic in doing so."
He stepped towards the Prime Minister and held out his hand. "I'm Luke Hodges, Diplomatic Envoy from the Galactic Inferno. Please excuse the glasses, your planet is brighter than mine."

"That would be Jason Bay. There is technically not supposed to be any air traffic over the bay, something about the rather large gun batteries beneath it, in fact, I'm pretty sure you just committed several felonies... Oh well. Welcome to Solarin. The Masque will not begin for several days, leaving you plenty of time to acquire a costume."

The familiar blue and white portal flashed brilliantly as it opened a spinning cone like rupture between real space and Hyperspace; The Alexia jumped out of Hyperspace, the lone 1800meter long Ikari class battleship (http://www.animeonscifi.co.uk/hosted/animarnia/Ikari_Class.htm) coming to a dead stop as the jump point closed behind her. "Ok drop shields, and keep all weapons powered down, make sure ALL targeting systems are offline, we don't want to spook the locals Passive scans only" The Captain of the ship Elaine Valentine said as she sat down in her comfortable command chair.
"We're here to wave the flag and deliver the admiral, I expect this to be glorified R and R" she added a second later.
Elaine Valentine was for lack of any better term a military brat, her father was army and her mother was navy. The daughter of an admiral and a general it was expected for Valentine to enter the service, which she did and excelled at the academy her ship showed signs of minor damage having been involved several skirmishes recently in the war. When the order came down to escort some top brass to some conference she almost pounced at the chance as it gave her crew a chance to not only make friends and relax but also to make repairs before she went back into combat.
"Transmit our arrival to the locals; ask them for permission to enter standard orbit apologise to them for use of a military vessel and explain the need for extra security with the war going on" Elaine Valentine ordered. She didn't need to repeat her orders as she knew the crew would carry them out.
"Tell the Admiral that we've arrived" she said to an ensign who left the command deck to head to the admirals quarters.

Welcome to Solarin. You may enter a standard orbit above Jason Bay please, that would be the small body of water near the coordinates included in this message for the landing site.

Kunra grew pensive once more, comtemplating the nearly three century old defeat of his people. "The course of the war is a long story. My people arrived in force to conquer what was then known as the "New Republic". At first we met little resistance, but as we advanced steadily toward the galactic core, resistance built up. Despite this, we won victory after victory. Defeat seemed impossible. We even managed to conquer the world known as Coruscant. Unfortunately, our conquests cost us dearly. Nearly 20% of our population. We were weak, but so was the galaxy. In the end it came down to a climactic battle in the skies over Coruscant. Due to the intervention of a sentient planet, our new homeworld, we were defeated and very nearly wiped out. We have been recovering ever since."
He sighed as he looked skyward, then looked back down at his host. "But I'm sure I bore you. Enough of talk of long past glories.... Tell me, are you familiar with the state of galactic politics?"

"To a point. We have long MONITORED affairs, without engaging. We have watched the Empire and other nations interact from afar. We are sure our knowledge is out of date. Our last recieved transmssion indicates the destruction of something named "Thrashia" by an "Imperial Armada." The delay is such that the date stamp is several years old, and we know that there are other powers, this "Galactic Federation" seems the most appealing to us."

Sildara raised an eyebrow at the nation's bravado. Full might? Our military is larger than its nation...
She sighed. This was going to be a long trip. So she merely sent off another message, giving her estimated arrival time, and readied her transport.
She was given a PeaceKeeper, a pale blue vessel that was over a kilometer long but unarmed, and a slightly smaller BattleCraft, to stay outside Solarin space, but to remain close enough to be able to conveniently come when called.
She boarded the PeaceKeeper and sat, immobile, as the ship seemed to twist into space.

A small shuttle slid from the belly of the larger craft and descended into the atmosphere of the planet.
It curved on its path, avoiding the bay, before landing gently at the given coordinates.
The doors opened, and the Envoy stepped out.
She was dressed in a shimmering sky-blue dress, with a soaring bird embroidered on the front in gold. Her attendant was dressed in a duller shade of the same blue, with the bird smaller and in black.
The bodyguards wore black, with a little bird in blue stitched on above their hearts. On their hips were swords, and across their backs were rifles, but other than that, they appeared unarmed.
All of them had black skin, from the Envoy's jet to the attendant's coal, and crystalline white hair. The guards wore it short and pulled back, the attendant simply knotted it at her neck, and the Envoy had it up in a manner befitting her rank.

Elaine nodded at the message; a subconscious response and she gave a nod to the helm to take the Alexia into a standard orbit above Jason Bay as instructed the planet from space looked very lush and relaxing. "Ask permission for some of the crew to enjoy the sites planet side; everyone on there best behaviour or I'll haul there arse in the brig" she said, standing up; "By the numbers people, start making repairs"
With that she left the bridge to head for the docking bay where Admiral Hague would meet her. In contrast to Elaine's slim figure; Admiral Hague was a poultry gentleman with a grey beard; old and slightly overweight he was still very much physically fit and his voice resonated with authority and was in full flag admiral uniform.
"Captain Valentine" said a diplomatic aid; spotting Elaine; "When do we leave for the planet?" he questioned.
"Now sir" she replied.
"Now? In what captain?" The Aid questioned
"Well Sir, the Military War shark Transport over there" she said pointing.
"This is a diplomatic mission, we can't go using Drop ships to transport people down onto the planet", the aid persisted Elaine sighed and cursed under her breath; this is why she hated civilians on her ship, they never understood the workings of a military vessel.
"This is a military ship, with military equipment, I'm Sorry we don't have any luxury shuttles available but this is a warship not a star liner" Elaine tried to explain to the civilian aid. Admiral Hague showed up a moment later; "Something the matter?" he said in his best CO voice half scaring the aid to death.
"No sir" he said.
"Good, shall we depart?" he added as the three of them headed towards the War shark. Under combat conditions a War shark was capable of transporting 200 men with ease into a combat zone but in this case it was only dropping 5 people, those being Captain Valentine, Admiral Hague and Lyle Drake the civilian overseer and two armed marrines allthough they were in BDU's and only armed with a 9mm pistol holstered at the thigh The War shark APC left the Alexia's launch bay and header towards the co-ordinates given to them.
The Warshark decended into planets atmosphere and activated tis VTOL landing jets as it came to a stop on the pad, the read of the craft opened and the 5 people exited, the two marines stood like tree trunks either side of the craft while the 3 members of the delegation waited for any greeting.

While unarmed, the Jupiter II class yacht employed all forms of current SeaQuestian defense technology. This ensured the protection of the passengers. The Jupiter IIs were also more visually pleasing than the old Jupiter Is they replaced.

After sending the response message, the Jupiter II descended into the planet's atmosphere. Her shields were on-line and being used to deflect the plasma created by the friction of atmospheric entry and keep it from toasting the ship.
Eventually, the ship reached the level where the plasma dispersed. She dropped through the cloud level and approached the designated landing co-ordinates.
Once above the landing spot, the ship hovered a few meters above the ground for a couple moments. Then her landing gear emerged from protected slots in her belly and she settled down onto the ground.
A section of the ventral hull underneath the bridge opened up and a ramp descended.

A single bolt of flightning lanced through the atmosphere, thankfully missing the diplomatic craft as it overflew Jason Bay. Whoever fired would likely be harshly disciplined, even though paranoia where the bay was concerned was rather understandable. As the guards exited the craft the Marines snapped to attention, and the General stepped forward.
"Welcome to Solarin. I must apologize profusely for that incident in the atmosphere, didn't they warn you not to overfly the bay when they gave you your coordinates? Oh well, it doesn't really matter, no one got hurt(yet) and whoever did it will certainly come to regret it. Now, I am afraid that your guards will have to remain with your ship or find lodging in the city. You may take one other person into the Palace, because the rooms are only capable of holding 2 people in comfort, despite their size. If you need a costume, the theme is Mythology, and your costume should relate to the mythology of your nation"

So long as you can fit through the doors, and are not trampling the other guests there should not be any iussues. Please try to keep it under 10 feet in height, and about 5 in width though, even if the doors are nearly 3 times that size. It may be disconcerting to other delegates if you don't.

Drake wasn't particularly pleased military figures all seemed to stick together no matter what nation they were from. Admiral Hague nodded "We'd like that" he said making a gesture with his hand for them to be led to their rooms by whomever the other admiral decided was up for the task.
Elaine was looking around taking in the sights of the alien world, it was really very nice and she wondered if the view was a good from their room. She winced slightly at the mentioning of costumes again; costume parities weren't really her thing but this could be fun even if she knew next to nothing about this planet's mythology, Elaine spotted a flash of lighting in the distance heading out from the ground and into the sky; she wondered briefly if it was some kind of weapon system..

Frost and Sub-Zero were unarmed, but it was apparent they could do fine without any weapons. During the discussion between Raiden, the Princess, and the locals, they remained silent, yet watchful.

OOC: Oops, posted at the same time you replied to my last post.
The group of four SeaQuestians looked around the landing area from where they stood at the bottom of the ramp. Meanwhile, several figures could be spotted moving past the top of ramp while performing their duties aboard the Jupiter II.
Raiden said, "Frost and Sub-Zero are to go wherever the Princess goes by order of the SeaQuestian Emperor. That is an unavoidable fact that I have no control over.
As for lodging, there is plenty of room aboard the Jupiter II and, as we had no intention of imposing on you, we were planning on staying aboard. Of course, the final decision on that is up to her highness."
Elyon smiled and said, "I would prefer to stay aboard the ship, where I know everything works, but if you insist about giving us lodging while we are here, I will have to accept.
"As for costumes," she snickered, "I think Frost and Sub-Zero have that covered. For me, well, let's just say I didn't exactly bring my entire wardrobe, but I brought most of it."
Raiden smiled and nodded.
"My attire is also taken care of," he said in regards to his costume.
"If that is the case then there is no inconvenience. We had assumed that you would accept lodging in the Palace as the rest of the delegates are doing. Since you also have your costumes that is also not a problem."

"Avatar. Supposed to be the Avatar of Kain, if used properly and in great enough numbers it is almost impossible to bypass their crossfire, as you saw it launches what appears to be a bolt of lightning. That is actually the ionization trail of a Depleted Uranium shell flying through the atmosphere. Anything it hits is going to know it's been kissed. For your reference this pistol is a 3mm weapon, with an effectively identical effect when fired. THAT is a 16 inch slug. It was designed to protect the palace, and the surrounding area. Are you getting the idea? It's there for dealing with airborne, or even very low spaceborne assaults on the Palace."

You are welcome to attend. It is quite acceptable for you to do as you intend. Please keep the transfer as short as possible, we understand that you will not attack us, but we are uneasy about military ships in our system.

Very Good. We shall comply.
In actuality, however, the true doctrine would have mandated that a mothership with a battlecruiser escort. However, exceptions could be made. Afterall, a five kilometer, one-thousand year old ten time completely overhauled warship that had the reputation of being one of only twentyfour in the universe would be more than an acceptable escort, the Vice-Speaker thought.
He boarded the ship at defense station Sajuuk, the largest and newest of the six main defense stations encasing Hiigara, their homeworld, in a sphere. It handled the most military and commerical traffic, and the Vice-Speaker spent a fair ammount of time up there talking with foreign executives in economical dealings with his Kiith, Hraal. The massive Battlecruiser, christened the Silvana, and painted gun-metal grey, which was not the standard sky-blue, was quite amazing. It was the first of the battlecruisers to have ever been built, and had the most impressive battle record of any currently existing ship in the entire navy. More damage had been incured by the 'kill 'em all' Silvana than any other ship save Sajuuk's Wrath. But that ship was retired two millenia ago, before the exile even. The ship surged as he stepped out of his dropship, a modified gun corvette which lacked weaponry in place of the necessary equipment to make landfall. He moved from the hangar towards the gravlift, seeing salutes all around as he did. His personal guard of two paladins, which were forbidden to leave his side except with his express permission, formed up on either flank as he passed into the gravlift. The gravlift was a massive, 4.5 kilometer long lift, one on each side port and starboard, that could move a man along the near entire length of the ship in seconds. The white-washed tunnel seemed to blaze by at amazing speeds as he stood on what appeared to be thin air but what he actually knew was a precise control and manipulation of two properties of matter -- friction and inertia -- as well as gravity. Arriving at his destination, and his guards having formed up beside him, he was met by what appeared to be a permanant barricade in front of what appeared to be a shielded blast door large enough to fit a tank through.
The guards saw who he was, saluted, and the shield on the door dissipated, the door opened, and then a second blast door opened...revealing another room just like the one he had entered. And another. Finally, after three defensive rooms, he passed through a fourth set of doors that led into an extremely small bridge for how large it appeared on the outside of the ship, and especially for hos much defense was placed before it, he thought. It would appear that most of the bridge bulb on the outside starboard side of the ship was indeed armor and defensive structure, and not bridge. This ensured that it was actually easier to punch through the main hull on the body of the ship than it was the bridge, despite its outward appearances. Drawing most of the fire in combat, this so-called exposed exterior bridge (not at the center of the ship like most vessels) was actually a fortress, making most enemy fire onto it in vain, and buying valuable time for other critical systems on the ship to retaliate without fire being placed upon them.
Inside the quiant room, filled with viewscreens and a small contigent of men and women looking at viewscreens, busily tapping away commands for the jump, and cross-referencing and checking that the AI's calculations were indeed correct, was the Captin of the Silvana, Alex Rowe.
A Kiithless man, he managed to rise to his position of power without political alliance due solely to his abylity to effectively command on the battlefield. He had single-handedly led the ship to sucess for the past twenty-six years, and only in the past two had he had the aide of a Vice-Captin, also kiithless, Sophia Forrester. Both sat in the back of the black-colored room -- also unnormal a color for a bridge -- looking at the calculations. Alex, a tall man with black hair and hard lines, but not hard on the eyes, looked at the Vice-Speaker with cold dark eyes, and then whispered to his Vice-Captain. She turned around -- very good looking herself, even with her hair put up, and walked over to Hraal-Sa. Hraal-Sa himself wasn't bad looking -- for fifty-seven. He was tall and in-shape, working out and joggin regularly had kept him that way. After all, how was a fat over-zealous man supposed to represent the largest manufacturing kiith in all of Hiigara? Better a good-looking over-zealous man, he thought. He shook her hand and they exchanged formal greetings, as the AI Alvis, a Yui class AI (the highest in the navy), announced that her calculations were indeed correct. The Captain authorized the jump, and they leapt into the void...
And almost immediately erupted from the other side. The main monitors came online, and showed a very hospitable planet, not unlike Hiigara, in view. They made communications with the planet, and the Vice-Speaker of the Diamid made his way back toward the hangar and into his diplomatic corvette -- hardly a visit, he thought. It launched, and a message was sent planet side to the Solarin League:
Our diplomat has arrived, please prepare a landing zone and give the coordinated to the ship. Open channels should work fine. Our ship will now exit system and stand-by until authorized for his retrievel.
And with that, the massive gun-metal grey monster that was the Silvana left, as quickly as it had come, leaving behind a small sky blue speck that was the diplomatic corvette.

"Alright then, if you'd both follow me." The Prime Minister led them away from the landing platform to a massive walled structure nearby. It was the Imperial Palace, home of the President. The west gate was truly impressive as they approached it, an oak-like hardwood facade over 8 inches of solid Chromsten. Flanking the gate were two Marine Sentries in full powered armor, as well as two Chromsten armored pillboxes, with a full squad of Marines in each. They hoped that the diplomats were friendly, but they were taking absolutely no chances. They were then led into the palace proper, past the barracks, and through a rather labyrinthine set of corridors, before bringing the Abhian to her room.

They arrived at their room and thanked the Admiral before entering, with the two Marines taking up positions either side of the door.
As Soon as the door was shut Admiral Hague and Captain Valentine swept the room for bugs and listening devices and did a full frequency scan for any transmitters in the room.
At the end of the hall was another armored hardpoint, this time for the delegates safety, it was set up in such a manner that the Miehmish could not simply come swarming in and butcher the delegates, though wether or not they realized the purpose remained to be seen. The bugs were nonexistant, ansd there were no transmitters, though a very thorough ground penetrating radar/sonar scan would show several secret passages in the suite that had been set aside for them.
As the Marines took up their positrions, a pair of the massive guards from the gates appeared at the ends of the Hallway. Huge, standing a bit over 3 meters tall, each, and armored in full powered armor, they were an impressive sight. The massive Bead and Plasma cannon each one toted were even more impressive, seeming more properly sized for a tank than anything even vaguely humanoid. The massive pistols at their hips, and their four arms gave a rather good indication that they were not human however. The horns raking back over their skulls simply accented that, and when one was compared with the standard Marine guard, even more differences would be apparent. Size and armament was not the only difference.
The larger of the two hung back as the shorter figure approached the two Marine Sentries. "We have been assigned as the Honor Guard of the delegates from Animarnia, and were told these were their rooms. I am Captain Krindi Fain, and this is my aide, Sargeant Erkum Pol."

Elyon burst out laughing at that. Even Raiden raised an eyebrow on his usually stoic face.
"Its nothing like that," Elyon got out between giggles, "Whatever got that into your head?"
Raiden said, "Sir, the relationship between those two are not like that. Its more of a master and apprentice thing with Sub-Zero as the instructor, and Frost as the student," he was obviously fighting hard to keep from smiling, "besides, I'm sure the fact they are brother and sister will also keep anything like that from happening."
"Brother and Sister should not share the same sleeping area. I will have to contact a Fire Priest for this." The General gets a look of intense concentration for a moment, consulting his tutorial implant or "toot" as they were colloquially known. About 30 seconds later he spoke again. "If you accept lodging in the Palace they will have to be roomed seperately. The Priests are very emphatic about this. Having brother and sister in the same suite, much less the same bed is unacceptable. And the fact that your expression and tone contained no end of inuendo gave me that impression. I apologize if I have given offense."

The first of the Marines, the large blond haired man nodded noticed the large power armoured …being heading towards them his instinct was to place a hand on his side arm. But in all fairness the 9mm pistol wouldn't have made a scratch in the power armour nothing short of a Ravager unit or a hunter mech. would damage that thing. The second Marine nodded and ran a hand through his finely kept beard "This is the room for the Animarnia Delegates, I'm Lt Baracas, This is Lt Drago" he said gesturing a hand to his fellow Marine.

Sub-Zero spoke for the first time, though his mask slightly muffled his voice, "We will be sleeping in shifts. The SeaQuestian Emperor, the Princess's father, has ordered that Frost and I watch over her for this occasion," his eyes took on a ice blue overall tint, "I trust you won't impede in our mission."
"Calm down," ordered Raiden and he waited for Sub-Zero's eyes to return to normal before turning to address the Solarin General, "Sub-Zero is correct. The Emperor did personnally order that both Frost and Sub-Zero stand guard over the Princess with their martial arts skills and abilities as cryomancers."
"I did not say that they could not be together while awake. They must simply sleep in different rooms. The Fire Priests mandate it, the Son of the Fire himself gave me the instructions. I CANNOT allow them to sleep in the same room. If one or both are awake, and they are not in the same room while sleeping, there will be no problems. You have been ordered to guard your mistress, I have been ordered to guard YOU ALL. I am attempting to guard you from the Fires."

It was named Forgebreaker in honor of long-ago Perturabo; and now it descended, letting free a glorified Thunderhawk; resplendant in the markings of Chaos, the Mechanicus and the Imperium. Aesri waited within, a hulking, brooding warrior; his great hammer strapped to him back, his armor polished and adorned; bone, ceramite; gold; jewels. The blue corvette made its way planetside, crashing into the atmosphere. There were a few seconds of uneasy rumbling -- as there always were -- and then the corvette stilled. The stabilizers had come online and compensated. Landing was incredibly safe, especially in this day and age, but it never ceased to startle Hraal-Sa, a fact he kept rather quiet, but that most around him knew. In a few minutes, the ship had poured through the fiery atmosphere, and had slowed below mach speed. It approached the LZ, and touched-down gracefully, the pilot activating the landing gear just in the nick of time.
A small door opened, and a shimmer went to the ground. then out stepped one guard, Hraal-Sa and the second guard. He looked around, and found the first hand to shake.

OOC: To get some things straight:
1.) Sub-Zero and Frost made a defensive move and not an offensive one.
2.) It would be a wise move to watch the language around Princess Elyon (she isn't someone you want to get ticked off (just lucky its not her brother, Prince Phobos)).

The Marines did not relax an inch, despite the seeming release of tension, if the SeaQuestians were correct, any show of weakness might spur them into attack. Admiral Spoor raised her hand to show a green gem set in a red fabric that rested on the back of her hand and wrapped around her middle finger to her wrist. The gem activated and rambled off a list in a language that was nothing like Galactic Standard. "It seems that the ships from the nations of Chronosia, Talaax, Mini Miehm, SeaQuest, Balrogga, and Christopher Thomas have arrived. At least those are the only nations from which we could identify from previous contacts. There are other ships in orbit though that we do not know the origin of."

Anyways, there was recently a Clan war, and we're overhauling our government. Then we resigned from the GE as the Nightsisters-Lady Nightshade conflict began, fearing a resurgance of partisan violence within the Inferno." He moved towards the couch, sitting in the position nearer to the door. Luke then removed his heavy sunglasses, his large Infernoian pupils contracting rapidly in what seemed to be moderately dim lighting.
"In short, we've left the one alliance we've been members of since time forgotten. Chronosia, Mini Miehm, and Talaax know this, and may not be very cordial towards the Inferno, me, or any Galactic Federation representative. The presence of SeaQuest worries me, especially since we haven't seen them yet. We have to meet them and prevent any type of face-off with the GE."

It seems the little attack by the Cassiopeia Galaxy served a purpose with your government though as it has brought unity rather than destruction and I am pleased to see that your nation has moved away from the Galactic Empire."
She shifted her weight and crossed her legs. "Please do not worry Mr. Hodges. I have had dealings with the Talaaxians before and have only known of one problem during a diplomatic conference. I trust that they will be quite honorable on this stage. The Chronosian would rather taunt and tease than engage in any action towards us at the moment I'm sure. Though provoking them would give them cause to attack which I would not advise. Dealings with these people are always an articulate matter. As for the delegation from Mini Miehm, I wouldn't be surprised to single certain Galactic Federation members out and provoke them and are more likely to react should anyone move to it. However, I doubt they will start anything too serious without backing from the Chronosians."
Her long blue braid laid over her left chest as she stroked it. "I imagine that the SeaQuestian delegation are on their own merits at the moment. Though if any situation does arise, we will have to defuse it."

"What really concerns me is the reality of the relationship of the Inferno with the Empire, and our internal stability. We have not severed ties completly, they protected us and gave us stregnth for years. We don't even know how long we've been members. We are merely officially resigning until this interesting problem with Nightshade and the Nightsisters comes to a conclusion. No Endorse even rides to war against Cassiopeia if they intend to go through with their rumored attack. The Imperial nations will probably seek to probe our new stance, and may try to give me a black or white choice, ultimatum, or worse. Can I count on the Federation, or at least The Empire of The Humankind Abh, to back up any move I may be forced to make in this confrence? The Inferno is committed to remain friendly to the Empire and the Federation, but the Empire might not see things our way."
As he was talking, he slid one of the ear-pieces off the glasses and pulled out his datapad, plugging the former into the latter. He pointed at it and smiled a little, a stream of video flashing across the datapad rapidly and cutting off. "I'm only thirty two Standard. My eyes aren't as bad as these glasses make them out to be, not that the Solari will be able to tell."

As Nhur-Galladu and his guide were walking and talking, he reached out with his mind. He found the minds of the SeaQuest delegates and caressed his fingers through them, leaving a shudder behind.
Once he knew that would have gotten their attention he whispered into their minds.
You are not only making fools out of yourself acting like children, but you are annoying everyone else. You have two choices; you will either stop now, or you will leave. If you do neither, I will Mindwipe you, your sibling, your princess, and everyone you have in the entire system.
You annoy me and I will not hesitate to eliminate an annoyance.
Show your evolutionary stage and act civilized. You will not be allowed to throw your weight around like a two ton wanna-be.
You are insulting not only your hosts, but every nation here with your rude actions.
You will stop now!
The last bit would be considered a yell with the impact of a jetliner, but he was still only whispering. If he had spoken even a tiny bit louder, their minds would be reduced to jelly by the sheer power of the greatest mind in a nation of more than four billion psi-entities.
The curious thing was he never indicated he did anything as he walked and talked with his host. The three trouble-causing aliens on the landing pad were the only ones to feel his “suggestion” as Nhur-Galladu and his guide were already entering the castle itself by then.
There was no indication where or who the message came from...

"I assume that you know of the nation Anagonia who is or was a member of the Galactic Empire. Our two nations came into contact with each other through certain events and established relations. It came to be known to us that there was a possibility that they would come under a large scale invasion. They asked for support and protection, we gave it. We were allies and the Abh have never broken an oath to an ally in their entire existance. Fortunatly the invasion never came and the Abh did not have to worry about losing lives nor did the nation have to worry about seeking temporary sanctuary within our borders.
I tell you this because when the crisis came, the only nation that would protec them was our own. We would have been far outnumbered and far outgunned and I assure you that we Abh do not enjoy fighting like that. Yet we stood ready and ever vigilant."
Spoor had been looking off to the side as if she was reliving the moment once again. She turned back to Luke and smiled slightly with painted red lips. "I'm aware of it. General Gianetto oughta be able to handle it. If necessary he'll instruct them to leave, and employ his Marines to put them back on their shuttle, and send them away. They will be physically picked up and placed on their vessel if they do not comply. If they continue to remain non-compliant, they will be placed under arrest."

"You're a national myth then? Otherwise you'll need a costume. As for meeting other delegates, they are all in the guest wing, where you will be staying."
"Oh no, I'm not a national Myth, but all commanders have armor like this, which is modled after the legendary General Hregar, who is said to have single-handedly fought and defeated, the greatest threat our nation has ever known. A part of the Myth says, that the World Spirit appeared to him, and decorated his Armor with Magick, to help him, and protect him." Yenke said.

There has been a recent development. One of the delegations has proved to be hostile and unreasonable. As soon as they vacate their landing pad you may take that one.

Aesri waves a dismissive hand, moving off the pad, flanked by his Warsmiths and Tech Marines; each Warsmith is a warrior and a leader in their own right, chosen servants of Aesri; Lords of two of the Great Companies of the Steel Fists. He chuckles lightly as he passes. "Deal with them as you will; be assured that if they make any hostile move against myself or any others; I and my Warsmiths shall end what they begin. Now; I trust I can enjoy this...Party." And off he moves, off of the landing pad, and towards the gathering; a great, mighty and brooding figure.
"Instruct the Astropaths to send a cypher to Remiel; inform him of the debacle on the landing pad, and insist that such events be taken in mind in case of future developments. There is much potential here..."
Aesri was met at the gates of the Palace by a pair of the Mardukan Guards. Still massive in their armor, they overtopped Aesri by nearly a meter. "The General instructed us to escort you to the Guest Wing, and the quarters you will be occupying. What mark is that? I have never seen its like before..."

The Pinnace dropped like a stone, before seeming to stop entirely approximately 100 meters over the pad, and slowly fell the rest of the distance. The Bounce Pack was an interesting way to travel. It was also efficient. It was NOT fun. At all.
The Miehmish delegate stepped out of the pinnace. On her shoulder sat a creature that any Solari should recognize on sight: A Treecat. There were visible differences between hers and the ones they were used to, but it was still recognizably a treecat. It was sleeker, and smaller. The Solari ones were more heavily built, and larger, they lacked none of the dealy grace, but they could pack more of a punch if they had to fight.
"My name is Honor Stephanie Harrington. I was sent to act as delegate here. The Alliance welcomes you, and hopes you thrive as we have, since our emergence to the stars so long ago."

A trio of men in deep green uniforms, surrounding the Admiral looked slightly nervous about the apperance of the massive, armored, multi-limbed beings, but they remained calm, not drawing their pulsers, or even moving between their Steadholder and the threat that the Mardukans may have posed. Nimitz had remained calm, and until he reacted badly there would be no movement from the Armsmen.

"I thank you for your hospitality. This Mark?" He indicated the Eight Pointed Star. "This mark is the symbol of undivided Chaos; of endless possibilities and boundless experience. Of potential and power unlimited. And the key to all the mysteries of the universe. To break a law is to know it; to shatter a system is to understand it. Only in Chaos can progress be made, through the stifling worlds of order and law; chains to ones such as myself, who value perfection and progress, and creation."

"Chaos? Is not Chaos a disruptive force? It would seem to me that Chaos would offer a great deal of strife and discord, for how could Chaos be undivided?"
"Very well. I do hope they do not ruin the entire occassion for us all... I believe, Mr. President, that I will look around and meet with some of the other delegates. Perhaps the Abh delegation is around here, our people have not spoken in such a long time.." With little delay, Kunra bowed slightly and walked off down the corridor towards the other guest quarters. Uninterested in meeting in a friendly manner with the other guests, he was more interested in gauging their intentions regarding the alignment of the Solari.

"Just shut it and listen," said Elyon, "you need to drop this macho attitude of yours. We haven't done anything wrong here, taken any agressive actions, or done anything that would require an apology. Now, would you care to explain yourself?"
Sub-Zero and Frost kept quiet. Raiden fought to repress a scowl.
"Princess," Raiden sent on a closed telepathic channel to Elyon, "Are you sure its worth the effort to even try to get through to him?"
"We won't know until we try, Raiden," she sent back, "We can only hope we can get him to see reason."
"You are the one in charge here," sent back Raiden before closing the channel.
"I told you to leave. If you do not I have the authority to have your entire delegation placed under arrest. Now, LEAVE. You cannot be civil to our other guests, so we do not want you here. Get back on your little ship, get off my planet, get out of our atmosphere, and get out of our territory until you can be more polite. And don't forget that apology if you decide to come back." The General summoned several Mardukans from the barracks, just in case the SeaQuestians did anything stupid, or, if they refused to leave, arrest them properly.

"You are the one not being civil and impolite," replied Raiden, "We have done nothing to cause you to act this way.
"As for your trying to arrest us," he made a hand gesture to one of the people up above still in the ship, "as we are still aboard our ship, which is classed as SeaQuestian soil, you would be an invading army and we would be well with-in our right to respond in kind."
Elyon moved behind Raiden on the ramp and sat down. Meanwhile, due to Raiden's gesture, the Jupiter II began to power up and began to set it up so that the shields could be raised in an instant if they were needed.
"Take it how you will. If you do not vacate our territory we WILL arrest you. And the instant you touched down on MY planet, you put yourselves, and your SHIPin my jurisdiction. You've already violated SEVERAL laws when you flew over the bay, if you don't leave we can add a few more counts to the indictment. Especially since I expect I'll have to be adding "resisting arrest" to the list if you don't leave." The massively armored Mardukans stepped forward, still bearing their cannon, the Bead Guns were loaded with shock rounds, or capture webs. Whatever the hostile delegates decided, they would have to deal with the largest, fastest, and most powerful of the Solari troops to do it.

Spoor rounded a corner in the guest hall as she was making her way back outside when she spotted Kunra. "It appears my job was just made easier. I had a report from my ship that a Talaaxian vessel was here and so I figured that once certain matters were attended to I would seek you out. Luck would have it that you were merely around the corner."
The Abh clicked the back of her heels and saluted. "Admiral Spoor of the Abh Empire."
Stopping at the sound of the voice, Kunra turned and cast an appraising look upon the admiral. Not quite the same as some old holovids showed, but impressive nonetheless. "The famous Admiral Spoor. One of the few of your kind to withstand the ravages of the Embrace of Pain. Quite impressive. I am Kunra Esh, grandson of the great -albeit misguided- Shoon-mi Esh, and Emperor of the Yuuzhan Vong. Elyon yawned, stood up, and walked back up the ramp back into the ship.
"Look you little pissant," growled Raiden, "You can drop the holier-than-thou attitude. We are in the right and you know it. If need be, we can take this to an international court and prove it."
"Wrong. That is a privately owned yacht, you do not yet have diplomatic immunity with us, it was extended as a courtesy, it has since been revoked. As of this point you are trespassing on Solarin Government property. You are under arrest, you have the right to remain silent, anything you do say can and will be used against you, you have the right to acquire any attorney you can get to take your case. You've got money, we don't need to provide one for you. Now, your ship is tractored to the landing pad, and if you manage to get off, your vessel will be crippled and you will be returned safely to the ground via the tractor beam. Resisting arrest, evasion, and several other charges can and will be added to the already impressive indictment you have going."
The plattoon of Mardukans advanced on the ship, followed by the more lightly armored Marines. If they attempted to resist they would be subdued with as little violence as possible. Bitchy, arrogant, concieted, and condescending they may be, but she WAS still royalty. You can't kill royalty while it resists arrest. The bodyguards were another matter entirely though, and their survival was NOT required.

"Depends on your definition of either. I know where I am, right outside the private quarters of Admiral Spoor. However, I don't know where I'm going. Would you be so kind as to show me how to get back to my shuttle? I'm afraid I forgot something in there, and I'd like to retrieve it before continuing to my room. The three delegates watched the Sequestian transport lift off and leave a rather interesting development as the TV feed changed back to normal. It was a simple truth that delegates were expected to comply with the laws of the land, the old saying 'when in Rome' seemed to sum it up best. The only exception was of course an embassy, which was always treated as home soil.

Lyle Drake picked up a digital pad and looked over the guest list it was actually quite impressive. There were several large nations in attendance. It would do good to increase Animarnia's reputation in the international community as a whole and maybe acquire something to take home for the war effort.
Elaine looked at the two statues on the windowsill one of a woman holding two balls of fire cast in bronze looking like she was about to unleash hell upon some poor soul. The other was of a man cast in silver holding two blue spheres that seemed to radiate light. "Fire and water" she muttered.

"A spoiled princess makes a poor diplomat and a worse ruler."
It explained all of the training the Maril princesses went through. Maril princesses...the Qu'essans...were trained to be Valsharesses from a young age, learning how to speak, negotiate, fight, wage war, and other aspects of ruling, as well as having a foundation in various magick styles, as well as combat.
Rumor said that was only the half of it, but no one could confirm that but those who would not speak.
"You will find no spoiled princes among the Vashin, nor among the Solari. Every President must be a warrior, a negotiator, arbiter, and many other things before WE deem him fit to rule us. After that he must be accepted by his own people."

The two Marines couldn't help but smirk at the implication and nod; "Old Animarnia Army Principle - you want to get a nail into a piece of wood, you hit it with the biggest fraking hammer you can find" Baracus said with a slight grin and nod of the head. "I somehow think our governments will get on just fine", making a reference to the earlier 'overkill' discussion in terms of weaponry.

"You wanna get a nail into a board and you get a nailgun, pereferably one with a higher caliber and longer range than the one your competitor is making."

The Kestals and Drastera have always been trusted by them, and there are other noble Houses that come and go as each in succession commits some new treachery. "The president has always come from the same bloodline, but he has not always been accepted by all the people of the League, several of them have been deposed by the Vashin for being ineffective and unhelpful in redressing our grievances. We are one of the most powerful forces in the League, and ANY President needs to pass muster with us. It may not be official policy, but it is understood. Does your military, or any minority within your nation possess that type of power?"

"No. And if any House managed to over throw the Valsharess, there would be centuries of Civil War in Kaymiril as each side battled to become the one in command. The military supports the Valsharess...anyone who knows anything can look back and see the skill the Marils have at what they do. But we are not a medley of races in Kaymiril...which would most likely make a difference in any culture."

"I see. We are a smaller popuation than the Solari, but we make up more than 70 percent of the military. We were the ones that crewed Mirandas Cruiser when she opposed the Dagger Lords, and my family has loyally served every worthy president since." The Mardukan trailed off, unsure how to communicate the debt owed by the Mardukans to the Solari, and Miranda MacClintock in particular.

Elaine looked at the two statues curiously they were rather interesting to her and she still had to come up with a costume. Animarnia had many gods; they had gods for every occasion. She wondered how many of those were represented by these two statues.

"That is Vkandis Sunlord, God of Life and Fires. His chief priest is the Son of the Sun. You likely missed the Lord of Waters in the references. The God of Diaspra and the Vashin is the Lord of Waters, while Vkandis, in all his forms, is the God of the Solari. It is not uncommon to see both races worship either God though, for there is no one true way. I'm sure that you will meet the Son of the Sun and all of the other highest ranking priests at the Masque."

"We owe them much. Upon the wall of my room is the sword once borne by my greatfather as he faced the Boman horde, hewing a road to life and freedom for our people, riding over the bodies of his fallen brothers. We survived the fall of Therdan, and Sheffan, to which my cousin Honal would now be heir if it still stood. Each time my greatfather gathered men to him and broke the ranks of the Boman, scattering them like leaves, but if he had not met with Miranda MacClintock they would have starved to death in the highlands. It has been 5 generations since his time, and always has our loyalty been to those that saved us in our time of desperation. Miranda and her few followers needed warriors, and we were the best in the land, though relatively few in number. The only reason Miranda defeated them is because WE boarded the Dagger Lords Flgaship, taking losses all the while, and finally destroying the crew and turning its guns against the enemy fleet. For the lives she saved we are forever indebted to her family."

For the first time, Exir spoke. While his brother's voice was powerful and rich, his was quiet and dry.
"It is the same with our people and our leaders. There were six people instrumental in the founding of our nation...in our liberation from the UnderDark. Four male, two female...Haldosir and Rildorath, servants of a long-forgotten House in the Underdark, Nervim, an orphaned mage, Va'tir d' Roesor, Selti d' Phlith, and their leader and organizer of their armies and utilizer of their abilities Kaymiril d' Brateris. The first three are looked to as heroes among our armed and magickal forces, and we strive to follow their example in loyalty to our commanders, each other, and our Valsharess. The latter three are the founders of the Houses Kestal, Drastera, and Maril, respectively."

"There are many lessons taught us in schools. The first was the greatest mistake of all nations, forgetting their roots and what made them as they are. We live our history every day. It is all around us, the monuments, the memorials, the Palace and Imperial City itself. It all reminds us who we are and where we came from. Laws change, rulers pass, and soldiers grow old, or die, but history lives on. Nothing will change what has happened, nothing can change the deeds of our forefathers, and nothing can ake from their glory in death. I think that many of the delegations here will enjoy the rich history of this world."

We lack much in stauary, but in artistry and architecture, as well as daily life, we live our traditions as well...and you are reaching out before you stagnate, which is good. The Marine led him swiftly back towards the landing pads, and directly to the Inferno Vessel. "Here you are sir. I'll let you get whatever you forgot, and take you back to your suite when you're done."
The diplomat pressed his palm just below the ship's crest, and the entire panel slid upwards to reveal a modest cargo bay. He grabbed a small suitcase and what appeared to be a camera bag. Just visable in the corner were two cases marked 'Warning, Ultra-High Explosive! Do Not Use Without Proper Training!' and several nasty looking laser-carbines.
He quickly slid the panel back into place, locking it with an odd twist. "Now, to the room, shall we?"

"Physical monuments aid the memory, keeping the events real in imagery. Stone, bronze, iron and steel are the memory of a nation, keeping alive everything that has happened. And to be truthful stagnation is not a risk for quite some time I hope. Science is still a vibrant study, and many advances are still occurring."
