The group continued their political debating for some time, while the patrons of the tavern carried on outside. Several books lay on the table. Communist Manifesto being one of them, and amoung other like minded literature.

"Something has to be done" Adrian said
"But what?" asked Stanislav, they had been discussing this before.
Adrian leaned in closer to the group and said quietly "revolution"
''revolution?! That's impossible. We wouldn't stand a chance. The military and the police would crush us like insects. They would round us up and execute us for such talk, have you mentioned this to anybody else?" responded Stanislav.
"No, believe me, I know the risks. But it can work. For every rich nobleman, there are well over a thousand starving peasants. factory workers, farmers, and even soldiers would gather around our banner. The army is fractured, war looms over the horizon with the other superpowers. If there is a war, Russia will lose and the people will suffer even more than now. It can and will work" replied Adrian.
"the eight of us can't do it" Valerik chimmed in.
"It only takes one man or one bullet to change the course of history for the world or a nation" responded Adrian.
They continued their discussions for some time longer.

IC:
Italy would like to point out that the Monroe Doctrine outlaws colonization in the Americas, American intervention in European wars, and European intervention in American governments. It in no ways outlaws alliances between European and American nations or Europeans aiding American nations. Italy is in no way establishing colonies or overthrowing governments. Italian forces are "training" in Argentina. If they "encounter hostile forces during their training", it is not the fault of Italy.

Adrian poured another cup of wine and drank it. The others still sat there discussing Adrian's idea. The thought of revolution crossed their minds, but it was too dangerous to speak of it.
"We need to provoke the proletariat into action. All of us and them are already sick and tired of the Czar. This powder keg only needs a match. Sadly, blood will have to be spilt." Adrian finally said.
"But how?" asked Jov.
"Assasination"
"You can't be serious?" replied Jov. The others chimmed in about the impossibilitie of an assasination.
"A nobleman, any nobleman." replied Adrian, suddenly an idea came over him. "That might be too big to start with. Perhaps we could assasinate the steel mill manager or owner. That will prompt a response from the police, then that will prompt a response from the people." Adrian said.
"That sounds more fesiable that offing a nobleman" replied Dimitri.
"Of course, I will do it" Adrian said "I'll kill that swine myself"

Nicholas looked out over the crowd in front of him. "My people. Today I have heard of the pains and sufferings around the world. I know many of you are afraid it will be war. I am here to assure you that Russia, unless provoked by a direct attack on it's Slv brothers will not attack or get involved in any war. That is what we will do. In the years to come we will be going through many pains. We are growing, and there are always pains with that. I want to assure you that I will watch over you, that I will give more and more adaptable concilliations as time progresses. We are learning how to go into the 20th century. All I ask... is for your time." The tired look on the czar's face seemed to mirror the tired and worn look of the worker. His regalia didn't seem to shine as much anymore, nor his eyes. It proved rather powerful as more Russians seemed to have faith that despite the tragedy Nicholas had taken charge again. The Rumors among the royalty and people of Rasputin's hold disappeared in a fortnight with the death of the Czarina.

Clément Armand Fallières, President of France, had heard of the crisis in the Balkans. He had held and emergency meeting with his ministers, and revealed his plans for France, its future and expansion. France would not intervene in this crisis, not yet at least, though they would act as if they did.

That was not his greatest concern at this time however. His minister of defence had presented a new strategy, focused on achieving the goals Armand had set at the previous meeting. The plan, called Plan 17, would allow France to wage a successful war agains t a foe that had humiliated France too many times before.
The Navy was also to be reinforced, and Armand had ordered not the previous two, but five new dreadnoughts as well as anumber of smaller ships.
The French Air Force too, was to be expanded and re-equipped.

''Soon'', thought Armand as he watched the sun set, ''soon.''

Well, the Japanese Started very early with carriers (in fact, the first succesful carrier based attack was made by the Japanese in 1914). I do not mean large carriers WWII style, just small (up to 5 or 10) planes or seaplanes.

It was late and the tavern began to empty out. They all agreed that it was time to leave. The lot of them said their goodbyes and began to depart.
"No one speak of anything that took place here today" Adrian said. The others agreed and left. Adrian put on his hat, and tattered scarf and gloves. It was quite cold out. All he thought about was how he would do it.
'With a gun? When?Where? At his home or at the factory? Will it work' he thought as a million questions ran through his mind.

After a long walk he reached the apartment building, where he lived. Sasha was folding some clothes when he came in.
"Sasha, I am back" he said. She dropped what she was doing and the two embraced lovingly.
"Where were you?" she asked.
"I was at the Wild Boar" he replied and kissed her.
"I'm glad to see you are well and were not arrested. The Czar gave a speech today, I was there." she said "Your hands are cold"
"Yeah, what did our ruler have to say?"
"Just the usual" she held his hands.
The two of them ate a small meal. Sasha worked at a textile mill. It was a tough job, but she was tough too. Adrian walked into the bedroom and removed a piece of floor board. Inside was a small space with an old revolver. He looked at it and held it, thinking. He put it away and began to plot, quietly at the table on how he would do it. he despised Mr.Topolov, the plant owner, he was a crooked businessman without regrets. Mr.Topolov was rich, but a miser.

Several days passed as Adrian plotted. He soon found out it wasn't quite easy to do what he was about to do. At work and after work he studied the movements of Mr.Topolov. He had a very regular routine. Mr.Topolov always stayed late to do work in his office. That is when he would do it.
'I could come up from behind and pistol whip him' he thought 'One good blow could kill him or knock him down. That would take care of any risks of him yelling.'

However, fate intervened when Sasha was injured at the textile mill. A part of the machine broke off and broke her arm, nothing too serious of an injury but the plant fired her and quickly replaced her. She was a wreck and he had to be there to comfort her. What happened to her only fueled his hatred and determination.

The nations of Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, and Montenegro have declared war on the Ottoman Empire. It is time to end the oppression of the Turks and end their hegemony over southeastern Europe once and for all. The war is justified on the basis of Turkey’s violation of the 1878 Treaty of Berlin provision by failing to implement reforms in Macedonia as stipulated. A pleibiscite of the people has revealed overwhelming support for a war, especially in Serbia and Greece who stand to gain the most from victory.

After a council of the leaders of each nation, the announcement was made and the Ottoman Empire notified of this intent. All other nations in the region are asked to stand down or risk the wrath of this alliance as well as the Entente. Military leaders havealready coferred and have come up with a plan for battle, ordering their experienced troops into battle.

The Bulgarian General Staff recognized Macedonia would have to be attacked from Thrace. In the west, a detached division would thrust into Macedonia. General Mikhail Savov was the chief of the Bulgarian general staff. The Bulgarians had the 1st Army under General Vasil Kutinchev, which was made up of 79,370 men. The 2nd Army was under the command of General Nikola Ivanov and consisted of 122,748 men. The 3rd Army was commanded by General Radko Dimitriev and was made up of 94,884 men. There were 48,523 soldiers in the west facing Macedonia, while an additional 33,180 men were in the Rhodope Mountains. There were 16,000 irregulars of the Macedonian Thracian Volunteers in Rhodope. All in all, the total of men in the Bulgarian army was 599,878. The ultimate target was to seize Adrianople and drive to the sea, cutting off Constantinople.

For their part, the Serbian forces were led by Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic, who commanded the 1st Serbian Army, made up of 132,000 men in the Morava Valley. The 2nd Army was commanded by General Stepa Stepanovic and consisted of 74,000 men, made up of the Serbian Timok Division and the Bulgarian 7th Rila Division. The 3rd Army was commanded by Bozidar Jankovic and consisted of 76,000 men based in Toplica and Medvedje. The Ibar Army was commanded by General Mikhail Zivkovic and consisted of 25,000 men. The Javor Brigade was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Milovoje Andjelkovic and was made up of 12,000 men. The Chief of the Staff was General Radomir Putnik. The Serbs anticipated that the Turks would concentrate their forces in central Macedonia- the Vardar Valley, or Morava. The Serb plan was to occupy central Macedonia and from there secure the region. They will advance on the Skopje-Stip-Veles triangle initially after taking Pristina near the border.

The Greek Army is ordered to march north through Thessaly into Macedonia and take the cities of Karditsa, Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala, and Thessaloniki before uniting in central Macedonia with the rest of the Balkan League troops. Greek forces in the main Army number 113,631 men.

The allied plan of attack counted on the 2nd Army’s advancing into eastern Macedonia from Bulgaria, from there cutting off any escaping Turkish troops in the Vardar Valley, while also preventing Turkish re-enforcements from reaching Macedonia. The 3rd Army would advance south into Kosovo and move to attack the Ottoman left flank in central Macedonia. The three armies were to meet in Ovche Polje east of Skopje.

Believing that this war would bring the long-expected freedom, the Macedonian people are to take active part in the war with their own regiments (chetas) and voluntary units. Up to fourty such units are operating in Macedonia at this time impeding the mobilization and the movement of the Turkish army with their diversions. Macedonians detachments are also fighting with the Allied Armies.

This money, being the bank's for that portion of time, can then be loaned. Sort of like what banks now do with CD's, except almost every account would be one.

I was thinking of letting Titicus do the rping, but I will step in now and then if I disagree with something, or think something should be added. Not only would Titicus probably prefer this, but I will already have my hands full if Argentina goes to war with Uraguay, Bolivia, and Paraguay.

We reconize your need to defend the waters that surround your nation. However, Italy has shut down the Adriatic Sea to Balkan war ships to protect the interests of Italy and Austria. While you are free to use your navy as you please in the Aegean and other waters, if any of your war ships are spotted in the Adriatic they will be arrested and returned to their home port. -The Italian West Africa Company can take out a large loan from the national German bank (or Switzerland if you don't want to, just thinking about business between allies) to improve the rented/purchased areas of the German colonies for larger/safer production

The problem with your logic is that you are a year too early. So, if Serbia wanted to attack me it would be fair to do so at any time you wanted, however, Greece and Bulgaria should either have to wait or be role-played by another player.

The problem with fairness in allowing one person to use three nations is that he can use the military of each nation as though it was a single one, which would not be the case.

I have no problem with the war itself, but if Titicus is permitted to use all the nations himself I will not continue to participate in the RP because I come here to have fun and under such circumstances that is not possible.

And I also don’t think EBH should be Rping the nations as he, being my ally, can step in whenever he wants and work things to my advantage. As I said before, I think this should be impartial members [Those not in an alliance with the nation or in the region].

Adrian put the revolver in his pocket. It was morning and he had to go to wor. He kissed Sasha and departed. The day went on with little excitment. He didn't have anything to eat for lunch...again. A grumble went through his stomach all day. After a long day the whistle blew and the workers began to leave. Adrian hid in a closet and waited. After all were gone he crept out. Mr.Topolov was up in his office. Thumbing through files. Adrian crept up the stairs, the door was open, his heart pounded louder and louder. Adrian moved silently. He raised the pistol, holding th barrel, ready to hit him. The gun fell upon his head knocking him to the ground, but not unconsience! He groaned and tried to yell. Adrian panicked, he pulled the trigger, suprisingly the first shot missed. The second hit him in the shoulder, and the third got him in the head, killing him.
Adrian, froze in horror at what he just did. He tried to move and finally he succeeded. He ran put into a side alley as people gathered at the front gate, with police. After he was a distance away, he vomited. When he regained control of himself, he disposed of the gun by throwing it down a sewage drain. Out of touch, he returned home.

So far the ruling Prime Minister and his party of Non-Aligned Members are up front in the polls, though the Military Candidate is close behind. The chances of the Communist Party are very small, and the Consitutional Nationalists are probably the third party in the elections.

In addition I am allied to two of the major naval powers of the eastern Mediterranean, Austria and Italy.

IC:
In light of Serbia’s declaration of war Sultan Mehmed V has regretfully declared that the Parliamentary elections and begins of home rule in the Balkans scheduled for this year will be set back until the conflict is resolved. “It is sad, but in this time of war setting up a new government would cause too much chaos. However, as the war draws to a close I will stand by my promise to bring home rule to Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Metohija as long as they remain loyal to the Sultan. Any lands that rise in revolt will be placed under the administration of the Government at Istanbul until the Turkish parliament feels it fitting to provide them with autonomy.”

The ships purchased from the Austrians are being sent to defend the waters around Istanbul. They are to arrest any ship attempting to pass through the strait and return them to their port of origin.

200,000 soldiers have been sent along with the borrowed Austrian and German artilary to defend Thrace from invading nations. 50,000 soldiers have been sent to quell any uprisings in each of Macadonia, Kosovo and Albania. [Total 150,000 soldiers]. The German military leaders have been sent to assist Ottoman Generals in these regions.

Full mobilization of the Turkish army has begun and 500,000 troops are expected to join the effort by the end of the year.

IC: "Severvitch? WHy do you look so happy all the time? Here we are on patrol of the city AGAIN. And you look as if it were the greatest job in the world. I mean I know we need practice with all the problems in the Balkans, but patrolling this city is a waste of time." THe soldier complained to his comrade as they marched with their rifles lazily draped over their soldier.

"It's a steady job my friend." Severvitch stated with a wide smile. "The rural area of the Urals are becoming too full, and so people are coming to the cities. It's a huge market for factory jobs and more along the way, but let me ask you what the steadest job here is? THe army. We get three square meals a day, we get harsh training and I swear I would love to bayonet our sergeant, but I get paid steady. And its not like the old army of the czar where we are drafted for 25 years. I will hopefully see no war, and it'll be calm. WHat is there to ask for?" THe other soldier in the group was an 18 year old boy, who kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to argue with men older than he.

"Shhhh." His friend stated as he halted. BOht soldiers looked around as they heard whistles. "Policemen." THey stated as they looked around. "ARREST ANYONE SUSPICIOUS!! THEY KILLED THE OWNER OF THE MILL!!! ARREST ANYONE SUSPICIOUS!!!" They heard the policemen shout to themselves. THeir eyes raised slightly, maybe this patrol wouldn't be so boring.

THey smelled something strange. Severvitch remembered the smell from when he'd been forced to learn what happened to a cow when one of the 75's hit it directly. "It's vomit." He stated as he looked around. Someone darted past, both of them going silent as they waved. Both men fololowed until they got to the apartment. "Psst. Underlee." The young boy came up, his cap firmly on his head. "Go find those police, I think we might have a perpitrator. Tell them to be armed and ready, we'll be going in first. Now run boy run." THey ordered the young German sounding last named man. He ran towards the sound of the whistles. THey didn't hear any shots, so they guessed they'd seen his uniform before they saw the rifle. That would be good.

THeir silent following didn't pass to the stairs as they clambered up in their heavy boots up towards the apartment complex. "Third floor." Severvitch muttered as he ran towards the first door, kicking it in." EVERYONE OUT!!! Everyone out this very fucking instant." Severvitch's friend yelled as he kept his rifle trained, forcing everyone on the floor out of their apartments and onto the stairs. Severvitch had his rifle prepared to shoot anyone who might head towards the door. "We have a murderer here. And they were stupid enough to commit it on a street the army patrols. NOw one of you confess, and the rest of these people can go back to sleep. If not we wait for the police to handle it. Perhaps the "special" police. ANyone want to speak up? Now is the time?" THe man had his rifle at the ready to take care of anyone who tried to run.

NIcholas stared at his feet as he often did now. HIs health was declining due to stress, and he didn't look like he'd be too healthy. Because of it, his concilliations had been better considered by the DUma, and his attempts to attack the Parliment and the COnstitution were laxing as well. If the ROmanov's died out, what use was there to stimy any future government? He didn't want to be apart of the reactionaries. Besides they were the ones who told him to visit the army at that date. The Reactionaries in his government must be transferred. He'd allow them to stay in the government, but more in a bureaucratic mode. ANd the men that failed were harshly treat. He'd make sure that the corruption ended or else his legacy would be destroyed. Sometimes he wished he were a smarter man. He sighed as he looked out the window, it would be a cold winter. Perhaps 1912 wouldn't be so bad. Maybe he might even find a suitable husband for his elder daughter. That man could become the next czar. Or maybe he could transfer it to his own will. Make the Duma more responsive until he died, and then give it more power to influence. THat way a foreigner wouldn't be capable of transferring Russia into their own sphere.

He looked at a copy of his conilliations. Soon. Yes at the eve of the year 1912 he would announce the new concilliations. A tiny sad smile passed his lips. THe Russian people were the only children he had left. Perhaps this would make them happy. (Which I am writing my own in the spirit of Nicholas, and trying not to be too crazy. Cause personally I can't find his real ones for anything.)_

OOC: Yeah yeah it's a double post, but who cares.

IC: Nicholas went on his platfrom on new years, a small smile on his face as he put his hands upo. HIs wife had been ten times more reactionary than himself, but now that didn't matter. Not in the least as he looked out towards the crowd. "At the dawn of a new year, I am here to announce certain concessions that your czar has decided to give. First I have been informed by Sergi Witte that there are horrible working conditions in the factories." His beard jumped at that. He didn't want to look Western, and yet here he was, searching for the love of the people he'd gotten filled by his son. "I have heard many of them, but I think working weeks and wages are at the best they can be at this moment."

He paused. "But I do not think conditions are. WItte has given me a tour, and so the Duma has been legislating that new standards will be held. My former standing against such measures will now be filled, allowing for safer working conditions for all. A safe workplace shall increase production for our great country, not go against it."

"I will also call upon the October Manifesto for Freedom of Conciense, Speach, and meeting and associatione. The October Manifesto has been madee, but not inforced like it should be. I shall make sure that it will be enforced with the Duma." His beard twitched. He was hereby getting himself further out of politics. He had less desire now to tell the truth. "I also hereby renounce my appointments of the upper chamber of the DUma. The Lower chamber shall announce who they desire to be in their upper chamber. And as I am still able to declare war, and in control of the church, I shall make it so that dissolution of the Duma has to have an extreme circumstance. This concilliation comes from me to the RUssian people."

He looked tired as he sagged against the podium. "I also wish to convey the wish that the DUma continues to advise me in it's current form, and that in the future we may see a brighter RUssia without the modern hussle and bustle. I wish you all a good new year"

Felipe looked to his commander, he was in the front, looking back behind the lines. Felipe turned his head, and saw the entire battalion, cruched behind the small hill. The commander looked at his watch, unseathed his sword, and ran to the top of the hill.
"A LA CARGA!!! POR LA PATRIA"
The entire battalion got up, guns opened up in the distance, and Felipe ran over the hill. The Paraguayans were entrenched on the other hill, and were now under an incredible barrage. The infantry surged foward, making quick time through the valley. Here and there a man fell, probably from a courageous, or foolish, Paraguayan, who had chanced to fire at the enemy. Felipe had reached the bottom of the hill, and the bombardment suddenly lifted, all though smoke canisters landed at the bottom of the hill, confusing the Paraguayans. Felipe was already in the trenches, Praguayan bodies scattered around in the trench. He chucked a granade into a small bunker, and 3 enemy soldiers inside came out with their hands thrown over their heads.
"Victory!!!" his comander shouted, and he was echoed by his troops.
The second wave walked up the hill, they were to continue the assault, and they would be eventually overtaken by the third wave. The advance would not stop until sundown.
"Felipe, go back to our lines, report our casualties, and the enemy captured"
"Yes sir!"
Felipe was given a horse, and an escort, he rode towards the back of the lines, at a steady trot. He soon arrived, and saw the officers and support troops already celebrating.
"I have to see the commander"
"Yes, over there"
"Thank you"
Felipe walked into the bunker wich he just had been pointed, the scene in there was nto of celebration, but of seriousness. A couple of radios were tucked in the corner, one person transmitting from one, and another writing feverishly while listening to it. He spotted the divisional general.
"Sir! I have the report from the front lines!"
"Ahh, speak"
"Around 50 dead, more than 200 wounded."
"Dammit, and thats for your formation?"
"Yes Sir."
"Enemy casualties?"
"A few hundred killed and wounded, at the latests count, we had around 500 prisioners."
"Excellent!" the general turned to the recorder "Give this to the radioman" he ordered, pointing to the closest radio set.
---------------------------
"We just recieved news from the 3rd Division. They have overrun the enemy, suffered around 1,000 killed and wounded, and taken around 2,000 prisioners."
"Good, and the advance continues?"
"Ahead of schedule"
"Excellent"
The Minister of War turned to a board, it was a map of Paraguay and Bolivia, including northen Argentina. The Argentinian flags, (and even a couple Italian and Japanese ones), had avanced a few kilometers into enemy territory. The Paraguayans and Bolivians seemed to be in dissaray, they had suspected an attack, but not in such force, the allied help seems to have secured victory. Reserves were being moved up, and the advance was to continue at dawn, as artillery had to be moved up through the night.

"What do you want? It's late, why are you here? Can't you see my my wife is injured, you're scaring her" Adrian yelled. One of the soldiers asked him where he was.
"I was here tending to my wife, she broke her arm at the textile mill." he replied. They kept questioning him. They told him the mill owner was dead.
"That's a shame. I didn't like him, but I didn't kill them if that's what you're interested in." he replied again. They continued to question him bt he had a story for everything. But the military and the police are notorious for dragging anyone away with no reason.

THe police arrived, checking every single apartment includeing one from the top floor. They started to search through apartments. THe youngest soldier looked at his friend who was questioning the couple. The older soldier nodded as the boy went to check on the police at the top floor. "Now where was I?"

"AHA!! WHAT IS THIS!!! STOP!!!" THe noise came from the floor right above them. Suddenly there came a pistol shot, then a whole slew of pistol shots right above them as the soldiers raced up the stairs. "God damn Red. Is this him?" THe voice of a police officer stated as the soldiers stayed silent. A woman's scream came from upstairs, followed by more shooting.

THe soldiers slowly started to come down the stairs. The young soldier's shoulder bled heavily from where the pistol shot had hit him entering the door. "Damn Reds." THe soldiers helping carry their wounded comrade down to the outside. The boy looked pale. A policeman came in, sweat covering his face. "Get to headquarters and tell them we found the murderer. Same type of pistol as the one that killed the owner. And he's got subverssive literature."

He looked at everyone, holding up a book that was written in Russian, and seemed to have been poorly copied. "THis is illegal literature that causes death. Your neighbor wishes to bring us into a chaos that will cause the death of millions. Now he has paid for shooting a member of your army. His wife has died for trying to get revenge for us protecting ourselves. Remember to obey the laws. Now get back to sleep or I will arrest the lot of you."

He looked to the cops that were milling around the stairs, an ambulance would have to arrive before they could get rid of the bodies. THankfully the army would take care of the wounded soldiers, and none of his men had been killed which was what mattered. He took a garbage bin out of one of the rooms, lighting a match to the book and then throwing it in. The book curled in the heat of the flame. "Put a watch on this house." He whispered to one of his fellow officers. "I want to make sure we don't want to search random rooms. Get too it tommorow when they think everything has quieted down."

Italian Naval Forces in Argentina (considering they're just sitting there doing nothing), have been sent to Togoland to resupply and meet up with troop convoys. Then the small fleet and it's 20,000 Italian soldiers surround Monrovia.

Sitting upon a thin peninsula, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Monrovia was a small merchant port established by the American Colonization Society for freed slaves. Since then the nation had declared it's independence and chosen Monrovia (named after the U.S. president) as their capital. When the royal fleet surrounded the city and Italian soldiers unloaded on the mainland to cut off the peninsula from the rest of the nation, everyone realized what was happening. Liberia would soon fall into European hands like the rest of the African nations. Even worse, the nation was now only guarded by the almost non-existant Liberian Army, no longer under the protection of the United States.

A simple demand was given to Joseph Roberts, President of Liberia:
"Surrender peacefully now and the citizens of Liberia will maintain their political and civil rights. We have no wish to shed blood today. However, our nation's survival depends upon the resources your nation hordes."

Several hundred Muslims have opted to convert to a alternate faith, however due to their strong faith, the majority have either surrendered themselves to 'Relocation Centers' or violently been arrested, and in some cases, killed. From the relocation centers, Muslim detainees have been transported to forced labor camps, including various mines, lumber mills, and other such menail construction jobs. Economists damned the idea as insane, claiming devestating results on the work force. However, due to the previously high unemployment rates, the ranks of the work force were immidietly replenished by a horde of eager men and women, looking for work. The few factories controlled by Islamic Peoples were auctioned off by the government to Siamese Business Owners, who took aqdvantage of the cheap industrial advantage to strengthen their positions on their given monopolies. This 'Economic Blunder' is actually increasing Government Production of Raw Materials and lowering the unemployment rate, all the while strengthening the few industrial sectors present in the region. These obvious benefits do not even begin to touch on the nationalistic pride the Siamese have taken against 'outsiders'. After all measures have been taken, experts predict some Eight Million Pounds will be taken in all. From confiscated funds, to property, a rather large portion of money will be be invested in several banks across the nation on the behest of General Rex.

March 7th 1912 - June 22nd 1912. A series of automobile capable roads and bridges are being constructed throughout Southern Siam. Employing some 23,000 Previously Unemployed Civilians, men, women and children are being recruited and in some cases, forced into joining what are now being reffered to as 'Moving Factories'. Split up into several hundred 'gangs', these hordes are set with maps, tools and provisions, and promptly instructed to create roads. Each lead by one to two field engineers, pathes are cut through light jungle, the soil covered in gravel and the wood from trees used to make bridges. This project is nearly self funded, except for the matter of rocks for gravel, which come from forced labor camps in Northern Siam, manned by convicts and political prisoners. All in all, the project is extremely cheap compared to projects undertaken by more industrialized nations. The gangs require little food due to their subsistance enviroment, need no materials other than such tools as axes, saws, picks, etc, and work relatively quickly after adapting to their designated work. At little to no cost to the government, several thousand have been employed, and the infrastructure of the nation vastly improved.

OOC: Seeing how no one wants to play Liberia I'll just roleplay it sensibly.

IC:
Surrounded, suprised, and unprotected, the Liberian President agreed to meet with the Italian General to discuss an alternative to war. President Barclay and General Cadorna, after nearly an hour of deliberation, finally decided upon the terms. Liberia would keep it's independence and no blood would be shed. In exchange, the Italian West Africa Company would be given the deeds to certain iron mines and lumbermills and would be free from taxation. Italy (although for it's own interests) also promised to aid Liberia if it was ever attacked. 200 Italian soldiers were left in Liberia to obtain deeds and learn their way around Liberia while the rest of the army returned to Italy. The Italian West African Company would dispatch officials as soon as possible.

Bengkulu, Sumatra (Dutch Held East Indies)

Amari Kzu entered the small native coffe shop, taking a quick glance around the establishment before sitting down at a table on the far side of the room. The August heat made his... made everyone's life hell, especially those white bastards from Europe. The man was dressed in a fine white Italian Suite, an undeclared hypocritical statement, for he was a prominent member of the AU, a Nationalist Organization hell bent on expelling all things European from Asia... in reality, it was just another faction of the land which wanted to rise to power. Not long ago they had been contacted by certain members of the Siamese Military, most notably, General Angkor Rex.

Kzu, a Liuetenant of the AU was head of operations in Bengkulu, commanding a small force of some 100 men in the city... all underground of course, for no official fighting had taken place. He had recieved orders from his superiors to make a deal with the Siamese Representative for guns, ammo and explosives in preparation for the awaited Revolution. Amari knew the man the moment he walked in. Not because he woar any specific clothing, not because of his actions... he just knew. Sure enough, the man approached him and spoke. "That spot outside sure is sticky.", grumbled the old Siamese man. "Yes, but if you jump over it, you should be fine.", replied Kzu, confirming his identity. The man sat down, and began discussing the specifics of the deal. Three hundred Stolen Italian Carcano Rifles would arrive in the city that night, smuggled inside a large rice shipment to the city. His men were to take the rifles and hide them away, waiting until the war arrived.

All in all, some 17,000 European Rifles were being distributed to the Native Populous, even though AU only had some 7,000 members. These rifles were, for the most part, purchased over various black markets in exchange for illict drugs such as cocaine, heroine and marajuana. Plans were made with various AU Officials to work on the upocoming war they hoped would releave South East Asia of European Influence... or at least the Dutch Islands in the area. However, the Siamese had bigger plans... plans which included theses islands becoming soviergn territory of the Kingdom of Siam.

The Revolution Begins

Today across the island of Sumatra, Revolutionaries have begun rioting throughout the streets, lynching whites, and attack authorities. Although widely unorganized, certain sects, mainly AU cells have launched well planned and coordinated strikes on Government Buildings, Military sites and rail lines. Rebels have taken to the streets, those not armed hurling homemade explosives or wielding machetes and other hand held weapons. City Garrisons were stormed in the late nights as several artillery pieces were used to blast down walls, allowing mobs of angry natives to storm the forts, cutting down both native and European guards alike.

Sibolga

The Dutch Garrison in Sibolga, previously one of the strongest on the island was hit with forocious strength, as the fort was hit unexpectedly by 3 howitzers from a mere 30 yards away. The guns, hidden in abandoned buildings adjacent to the fort opened fire at 3:30 in the morning, blowing down walls, allowing three groups of 35 men to run from their cover into the created gaps, firing their imported rifles at anyone in uniform. As the element of suprise granted the Indonesian Rebels the temporary advantage, an additional 425 men ran down the streets, carrying nothing but machetes, clubs and the occasional revolver. These men rushed past the AU-Siamese Soldiers and into the fort, charging the emerging Dutch, taking no note of their casualties and hacking their enemies to pieces. Among the insane rebel forces were several hundred suicide ready fanatics, whom would run into the dutch filled barracks, pull a cord and blow himself to hell. As one Siamese soldier would later recall...

"It was dark... the lights... they all went out after the howitzers opened up... I never understood why. But I had no time to think. As soon as the explosions occured, I was pushed forward by an AU member, and I stumbled into the street, a rifle in my hands, the flames still tearing away at the brick wall of the fort... I saw the bleeding Dutchman... Dutchboy on the ground, he could not have been over 18. Blood spewed from his mouth, I wanted to help him, but the feel of a rifle barrel to my back changed my hesitation, and I rushed into the smoldering gap.

As I peered through the darkness, I could see flashes of light, followed by loud cracks... and moments later, bullets whizzing by my head. I was not sure what was happening until the rebel behind me pushed me behind a pile of crates and began shooting back... he soon fell dead, and I realized, we were actually fighting. Grapling hooks continuously landed by my side, then dissapeared into the air as the took ahold of the wooden ramparts. Seconds later, rebels and Siamese Soldiers alike dropped from the ten foot defensive ramp, and began unloading rifles, revolvers and shotguns alike into the direction of the enemy. After a minute or so, I looked over the crate behind me, which I suspect was filled with food, and took aim at a Dutchman standing in a tower across the courtyard. I fired, and a second later the entire tower exploded into flames. I stood shocked, looking at my rifle until a Captain laughed at me, pointing to the howitzer which had been wheeled to fill the gap, constantly firing.

Soon after, I heard the terror of what would later be called, 'A Machine Gun'. Bullets scewered rebels and soldiers... anyman who wasnt in cover. I knew where it was, but I knew if I stuck my head up, id be a dead man. Thankfully, our snipers had more confidence from their vantage points over 200 yards away on the city rooftops. Silent rifle cracks sounded out, and the machine gun fell silent. Occasionally a Dutch soldier, or even a Native Loyalist would take it back... but he would share the same fate as his perdacesor... a shot to the dome. A good twenty minutes into the fire fight, the sounds of the mob filled the air, followed by the ground trembling under the weight of their charge. What seemed like thousands of angry natives spewed through the gaps and over the walls, charging the Dutch Battleline. Although they large numbers before they reached the enemy... once they got there... the screams of the soldiers filled the air, the fanatical savages toar them limb from limb... I witnessed a lone rebel storm a barracks. I knew for a fact it was filled to the brim with riflemen, they had knocked out panels of the long house... at least 25 of them pouring out shots into our number. Well anyways... that one man ran in, we heard shots, and then a massive explosion, putting the entire place into flames. Dutch soldiers, covered in flames ran out, meeting angry natives with knives. The city was thrown into chaos. The only thing which kept white women and children alive were the Siamese soldiers, around 150 of them locking them in the local jail after releasing the convicts... without the soldiers, the natives would have done god knows what to them...

Sumatra was being hit by some 350,000 Rebels, AU Insurgents and Siamese Soldiers, all in a unified movement to overthrow the Dutch... before long, similar strikes would hit the islands of Kalimantan, Celebes, Java, Irian Jaya, and possibly even other, Non-Dutch Islands. However, the Siamese would have no part in their revolution... it has begun.

(If sombody would like to RP the Dutch, that would be great)

Today would be a great day! Finaly, after years of preparations and military build up, the Greeks and their glorious allies would bring the hated Ottoman Empire on it's knees. It would be the beginning of the end for those hated Turkish dogs. The days would be full of revenge and of ancient glory.

In fact, it was just one big landgrabbing expedition, with the "sick man of Europe" as victim. Greece would invade with the main army (140000 men) and move north towards Salonika. After capturing the city, a force of 40000 would guard it and the Eastern approaches while the rest (100000 men) would march north towards Skopje, in support of their Bulgarian Allies.

More to the west, a force of 60000 would move through Central Greece, in a Northerly direction. They would turn west near lake Perhid. The Home Army would consist of 40000 men and would act as reserves and defend mainland Greece.

Crown Prince Constantine issued one last general order for the troops:

Brave men of Greece!

After years of oppresion, we gained independance years ago. But it wasn't freedom, for our brothers were still occupied by the Ottomans! But today, we will have our revenge! We will defeat them, and free our brothers! Remember, you are the heirs of Alexander!

OOC: I finally have time to start posting in the IC thread instead of my News Thread (as I'm used to posting important China info in my News thread in E20)

--------------------------------------------

Feburary 6, 1913

Emperor Guozu sat at a long table, with several advisors arrayed before him. Having finished the customary Chinese tea and welcoming ceremonies, the Emperor got down to business.

"What is the status of our economy?"

One advisor spoke up.

"The industrialization is proceeding on scheducle. Construction of railroad links have been completed between Canton, Shanghai, Peking, Port Arthur, Mukden, Lanzhou, Tsingtao, and Chengdu. Rail lines are being expanded in the lines running from the Tibetian mines to Lanchow and Chengdu, and the Mongolian resource deposits to Peking and Lanchow.

Factories are being built near Lanchow, Chengdu, Kunming, and Wuhaon as they are strategically located on the Tibetian-Chinese and Mongolian-Chinese railroads, as well as being safe from naval and aerial bombardment. The desert and mountains to the north, west, and south of Lanzhou, Chengdu, and Kunming presents an excellent barrier aganist foreign invasion, or at the very least delay the invasion efforts until sufficient reinforcements are shipped to these cities via railroad. Wuhan is strategically located in the 'center' of China, serving as a hub of sorts. It connects all the three major western cities, as well as serving as a gateway to the port cities to the east.

Naval shipyards are being constructed in Tianjin, Tsingtao, Port Arthur, Shanghai, and Canton as these are excellent harbors best suited for naval shipbuilding efforts. These shipyards aren't expected to be completed for at least one or two more years as the infrastructure is still in the process of being constructed. However, each of these shipyards are expected to have 100,000 ton shipbuilding capacity, allowing the construction of battleships and merchant vessels alike."

The Chinese Emperor nodded.

"Good. Now, what of the Chinese military?"

The advisor sitting two seats to the right of the economic advisor spoke.

"China's military has seen tremendous strides with Japanese aid and training. We have managed to train approximately 350,000 troops to reasonable levels of training. The experience imparted by the Japanese is also being put to use in training more Chinese military trainers and camps so that China will be able to sustain troop training and recruitment during times of war.

Weapons factories are being constructed near Lanzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Kunming, to serve as a three-fold strategy. These cities will serve as strongholds, supply depots, and a line of defense. These four cities can only be attacked directly by ground troops, as they are out of reach of naval forces, thus denying a lot of the enemy's power. These cities are also centrally located in China, next to difficult terrain which will slow down any potential advance by the enemy by quite a substantial margin, draining the enemy of supplies and increasing the difficulty of their logistics.

Peking and the port cities of Canton, Shanghai, Tsingtao, Port Arthur, and Tianjin are also being fortified. Large coastal batteries are being constructed to cover the port cities with Japanese aid, so that naval attacks aganist the cities will be quite costly. Several massive arrays of naval batteries are also being planned near the city of Port Arthur and the Shandong Peninsula to close off Bo Hai Bay to hostile naval forces, securing the large bay for China. and guanatreeing safe harbor in Tianjin and also serve as a barrier for foreign troops to cross to reach Peking which is only a short distance away from Tianjin."

The Emperor nodded once again.

"That is all good news. However, I believe that we must continue to expand China's military to at somewhere between 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 well trained men. We need to do this to ensure that China will have a formidable military and that such a large amount of manpower will hopefully dissaude any foreign invasion of Chinese lands.

I expect this goal to be reached by 1915 - 1916."

The military advisor cringed.

"Sir, that will be difficult to accomplish."

The Emperor shot the advisor a glare.

"The survival of China is at stake. Do it!"

The advisor gulped and fell silent.

Having admonished the advisor, the Emperor spent the next two hours discussing affairs of state and the plans for continued Chinese industrialization with his advisors.

They are more heavily fortified around wak points, were the Mountains are thin in width, or were the height is much less, and the defenses move all the way to the German and Romanian border, they are called the Carpathian defenses because they are centered in the Carpathians. The Carpathians, and the defenses in Galicia, Serbian borde, and City defenses consist of miniature fortresses designed to hold out for a long time, heavily fortified bunkers, machine gun nests and pillboxes, and extensive trench fortifications with deep dugouts being constructed. All of these defenses have the entire engineer force, and a large amount of regular and reserve troops constructing them to enlargen them as best as possible. There is an independant artillery force consisting of 77, 105, 150, and 210mm guns (a lot of artillery pieces) situated in the fortresses, fortified bunkers, and mountain areas were they can fire down, with an extensive observer force. He was about this time. Fascists didn't exist until 1919 when the communists began to threaten Italy. It would also require the influence of Gabriele D'Annuzio and his blackshirts who lead the attack on Fiume which is not likely to happen at this point. The best to be done would be to wait until the Syndicalist were ejected from the Socialist party and have Mussolini create the National Syndicalist movement and slowely evolve that into Fascism by adding in the nationalism element and drawing the futurists in from there. I doubt that Fascism could sprout without a major war and without the communist attacks in Milan since the militant arditi of World War I were the sole reason for that parties capture of Italy.

Without the Arditi/Blackshirts the Fascist part would not likely have taken a dictatorial road and would have been more likely to follow the republican ideals they started with as well as the liberal and socialist ideas they supported early on.

In response to Serbia's attacks on Austria-Hungary's ally, The Ottoman Empire, and the ever increasing evidence linking them to terroist groups in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Franz Ferdinand announced Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia. 20 divisions, supported by large quantities of artillery and lead by the Croatian legion and assault troops, crossed the border with Serbia. Russia Declares War on Austria Hungary

In defense of Serbia, the two armies of the Western Front stop on their return to their places, the armies on route to the East turned again. It seems they haven't changed much. THey'd return soon.

The Two Russian Armies move to the northern reaches of the Austrian Hungarian territory, using the gaps in the new defenses to attack. They use the blank spots with fast artillery barrages that move to the recently built forts. They flood hundreds of thousands of soldiers into the gaps to force their way through. Their air cover allows for excellent targeting, and the Austrian forces find that two armies of Russians are a ton of soldiers as half a million men cross into AUstrian territory.

Armies Attacking into Eastern Austria Hungary:

14th Army: (210,000 infantry, 4,000 Cavalry, 70 Artillery Guns.)
15th Army: (470,000 infantry, 7,000 Cavalry, 100 Artillery Guns.)

The Army of St. Petersburg is ordered to the German border to set up a defensive position.
Defense on Polish Border:
3rd. Army (279,000 infantry, 5,000 Cavalry, 75 Artillery Guns)

Notice to Germany:

Russia has no desire to fight a war with Germany. Austria Hungary has invaded Serbian territory and therefore they will be taught the error of their ways. As you notice we are ordering our army to dig in for protective purposes just in case. It is for emergency purposes should you change your mind. If you should not, than it will be perfectly fine.

Russian News: Two more armies to be recruited. Volunteers and reserves to be called up.

Citizens who voulenteer before they are conscripted will recieve twice the pay and will also train for twice as long thus being removed from combat for a longer period of time. All males between the age of 18 and 45 are possible candidates.

The RUssian army stopped in it's attack, the infantry stopping as the heavy artillery battered the forces. Then the 75's came up along right behind, their horses frothing as they went into position, blasting the defenses rapidly with their quick firing. The French guns proved faster than anything that the Austrian's had, and when the artillery smashed into the rudimentary defenses, the Russian infantry assaulted again, the two armies preparing to meet as they rushed towards the rear of the fortresses. The artillery let up as the heavy artillery started to shell furthur. The aircraft, primitime and with their pilots firing with pistols and other assorted weapons proved to be more of a nuisance than anything else. (THis is 1913, even with lots of development your planes are still primtive, therefore no strafing. Just shooting.)

The RUssian troops were pushing forward, and due ot it, they weren't letting up. The fast movement of their artillery made the going easier once they took out isolated outposts and forts. Now they were storming over in waves, flanking and moving in on Austrian forces in waves as the fast firing artillery kept their horses going. The heavy artillery taking more time to move forward into the gap.

The other armies returning west go off the trains, moving out into formation. A few days and they'd be in Austria, forcing even furthur towards Vienna.

The RUssian Black Sea fleet started to mobilize, preparing to take their new ships to attack the fleet of the Ottomans. Set up the second army for the Western Front to be changed to the Ottoman front.

Aka two armies attacking Austria. One in the East. One heading towards the Ottoman border, and one heading towards Austria.

Serbia declares war on Austria-Hungary

Serbia wishes Italy to know that it has no wish to fight with that country but will if necessary. Serbia broke no treaties and was only continuing its war with the Turks which it had not signed a treaty with, only Bulgaria had.

Serbian troops posted along the Austrian border were badly pressed by the Austrian army, and due to the suprise, a general retreat was sounded on the western side of the defensive positions. The Austrian Army broke the line at several places on the left, leading to a short rout there before the men could be rallied. Serbian forces are ordered to make a fighting withdrawal until reinforcements can arrive. The defenses will be strengthened on the east and fall back slower there than eslewhere to protect Belgrade. Only 67,000 men are on these defenses.

In the south, the advance on Tirana is halted and the forces are to withdraw by the shortest road. The Serbian Ibar Army and the Javor Division under the command of General Mikhail Zivkovic are to establish a line from the Kosovan border to Montenegro into Northern Albania as well as block the passes into Serbia and Montenegro. Major forces will be near Podgorica (east) and Pristina. This force will number 64,000 men.

The rest of the Serbian forces are led by Crown Prince Alexander Karadjordjevic, the 1st Serbian Army made up of 135,000 men under the command of the Chief of the Staff General Radomir Putnik, the 2nd Army commanded by General Stepa Stepanovic and consisting of 74,000 men, and the 3rd Army commanded by Bozidar Jankovic and consisting of 66,000 men.

OOC: Turkey is still at war with Greece and Montenegro so can't just move all troops away from those fronts. and Montenegro is my ally

OOC: and you only have 170 artillery pieces in total, so barrages wouldn't be too bad to me
IC:

Galician Front: With more reserve units entering the fray, the Austro-Hungarian army. With the Russian army continung to push roward, the reserve units behind the front line began to dig in as the front line units continued to pour fire into the advancing Russian units. Other units began to box in the Russian attack, while the massed artillery pounded away on the Russian forces.

Serbian Front: The Austrian-Hungarian troops kept advancing, catching and destroying pockets of Serbian resistance. They pushed up to the Serbian line, and then brought their artillery up to pound the Serbians. The Austrian troops then advanced, pushing them back. As the troops in the middle approached Belgrade, they didn't attack Belgrade but instead began to curve around the city

OOC: SOmeone hasn't seen what a 75mm can do when firing at it's quick rate have they. It can send a dozen shells into packs of men in a minute. A handful of industrious 75mm batteries have been able to stop whole divisions of advancing men. They're nasty.

IC; THe RUssian soldiers mobilization had started to slow. After all they'd taken large casualties, and they had to get consolidated. Their supply lines were stretched as they went forward, some caches of Austrian supplies being pressed into service.

THat's when the new army came in, a fresh unit with over 430,000 men into the fray. Artillery being boosted by double, the artillery train of the slogging new army having marched. THey were given a days rest.

THen the whole world seemed to explode in the digging Austrian world as the 75's laid a huge barrage, the heavier guns firing into the deeper more prepare position. If this were another world it might be known as a preliminary bombardment of WWI. The whistles sounded as the new fresh army jumped out of their positions, the rudimentary trenches their comrades had created and assaulted. On the left flank came even more troops. These from the armies consolidating themselves. The 14th Army staying out of the attack to build positions as they had suffered equal numbers lost to the 15th, and that army outnumbered them two to one anyways.

Now almost 600,000 Russians were smashing into the AUstrian line, just behind their 75's barrage. The major fortresses left bypassed as they flooded into gaps.

(Russia never bought alot of quick firing 75's in real history. Unlike me. They are a huge advantage to an attacking army for covery. Not very good when it comes to a dug in army, but excellent for keeping up with an advancing army and smashing them. Since this is 1 weeks a year, then a day is almost 2 months, therefore plenty of time for my army to get here.)

Due to the entrance of Japan into the war, Germany declares war on Russia. 2.2 million reserves are called up. Of the 800,000 standing army in the east 300,000 are in East Prussia, 300,000 are along the north and center of the west Polish border, and 200,000 are along the south of the west Polish border.

100,000 of the troops in East Prussia head south to slam into the flank of the Russian troops defending the Polish border (I am assuming the 284,000 are mostly along the west border with Germany), while the 300,000 along the west border head straight at the Russians with their strongest troops on their northern flank. The remaining 200,000 troops in East Prussia continue defending. The 100,000 of the 200,000 in the south attack the flank of the armies assaulting the Austro-Hungarian troops.

The 300 planes in the east fly over Warsaw and other major Polish cities calling for the Poles to rise up against their Russian oppressors, spreading propaganda, and saying that Russia will fall in a few weeks time.

3 battlecruisers and two minelaying cruisers depart from Memel and seem to be heading for Saint Petersburg.

Serbian troops are entrenching themselves in Belgrade, 20,000 strong while the other 45,000 men are withdrawing to the Mirava River, leaving Belgrade isolated.

Serbian troops in the south are marching north as quickly as possible, a week having passed they are north of Nish nearing Kragoushevets, preparing to move into the assault against Austria in a few days

Serbia calls upon its ally in Romania to help and be able to seize the Austrian lands it should have. OOC: Can Someone look into this?

The Polish citiziens find the fact that Germany attacked straight within hours of a declaration unnerving. THey also find it hard to rise up when the majority of the soldiers fighting on the front lines with Germany are Polish soldiers.

The Army defending puts up a huge fight. The fast firing artillery with the heavy artillery chews up the terrain before the assault of the Germans, allowing the RUssians to make the field ahead a killing feild. The 75's race from area to area as they drop their 20 shells each onto the German infantry assaulting. Machine guns move as the flanks remain fluid. These Russians are mostly Poles fighting for their homes, and the Germans find quickly that by attacking they have just made the hope of a Polish rebellion impossible. Poland will be a hard fought victory for Germany as the RUssian Army of Poland abandons it's hard fought position to let the Germans go further and deeper. The days battle is given to the Germans, but the hope of an easy victory in rebellious Poland has been lost.

Russia finds itself on a war of two fronts, but with three armies slamming into the Austrians who continue to try and fight for Serbia. They also find that the armies moving in on the Eastern front are finding freezing tempratures, while the Russian general out East orders his men to have extra clothign to protect them. The frigid wasteland of East Russia will be lost, but so will the invading armies. (TO tell the truth you picked the worst location to invade. There's a reason the majority of the Russian population is in the West. Eastern Russia is just nasty.)

General Russian Army Notice:

No RUssian soldier is to expect to be taken prisoner nor to expect any. No surrender of an enemy army will be accepted. If they wish to prepare to destroy Russia, than RUssia will slaughter them in kind.

Armies in Austria:

You are to immedietly execute all Austrian citiziens and burn all Austrian property. Any Slav shall be allowed behind Russian lines, and if not shall be given amnesty. All Austrian Civilians will be seen as viable targets and no Austrian city shall remain standing. Complete destruction. Direct Order.

The Russian Armies in Austria start to take effect, destroying all Austrian property and executing Austrians en masse. Some towns are completely depopulated. Russian Populace starts to head towards deeper Russia to escape retaliation. All towns in ways of enemies are burned, and Russians themselves run towards the middle of RUssia.

OOC: couple of things:

1. Despite the fact that Sukaida has left, do you still want me to RP a defense, or just wait for someone new to change the orders?

2. while 75's could fire a dozen rounds a minute, they could only sustain that for a short time. The crews had to rest, barrels had to cool, etc. Plus I have a ton of machine guns and artillery

3. Romania was in an alliance with Austria and Germany since 1885, what impact that has on its entering I have no idea, I'm guessing they joined in RL because of the Brusilov offensive and the collapsing of Austria's armies.

IC:

To: All commands
From: High Command

No Russian prisoners are to be taken. The acts of the barbarous Russians have gone too far, and they destroy everything. Give, and expect no mercy.

Casualty Estimates (If unfair tell me, numbers include all fronts in Eastern Europe, I haven't calculated German-Russian casualties, EBH maybe you want to do that, casualties include dead, wounded, prisoner)

Russian: 95,000
Austro-Hungarian: 65,000
Serbian: 20,000 (20,000 trapped)

Factors:

1. Russian troops were charging into a hail of artillery and machine gun fire, despite barrages, which weren't always very effective against dug in enemies in RL, and they had much fewer guns. my defending troops were artillery heavy

2. The Serbians were taken by surprise and retreated, probab;y leaving behind vanguards, etc.

Ok, since I am now France:

The Republic of France declares war on Germany for attacking its ally in Russia. Germany will fall and the world will be rid of its oppression. This war can only end with Germany withdrawing from Russia and asking for peace. France calls upon all of its friends to join it in the fight against Germany, including Britain, Belgium Holland, and the United States. France also has no desire to fight with Italy but will if forced to.

French forces are being fully mobilized and readied for offensive or defensive maneuvers with Germany. Colonial troops are also being called up in French colonies.

**************************

French troop dispositions:

Italian Border
14 divisions, 220,000 men
Spanish border
9 divisions, 95,000 men
German border defenses, 1.4 million men
Belgian border, 550,000 men
Nancy, 250,000 men
Epinal, 400,000 men
Verdun, 350,000 men
Paris, 500,000 men

Troops in forward positions are preparing to move, artillery is being moved to primary positions, all reserves are being sent forward.

*******************

In Paris, the tall, gaunt man sighed, sitting in his plush seat, dark as if to reveal the mood of the room and the country. So it has come to this, again, he shook his head, drinking slowly from a short drink filled with a stiff drink. Looking up he glanced at the man leaning against the desk opposite him, legs crossed, eyes red and glazed, but despite this his mouth could still open. "We are up against quite an array of opponents here. Our nation is in great straits from the very outset. We have a vow to fulfill, and in any ways, if allowed to finish off the Russians, the Germans would just turn on us." He wiped his forearm across his cheek, breathing deeply. "We must strike first, we must do something, we must avenge ourselves of the blood we have on our hands, the guilt we owe our ancestors, illustrious they were, ashamed they are now. The enemy must be destroyed, our lands recovered." Stopping abruptly, almost as if to say more but stopping, his hand turned down to the floor. Across from him, the thin man retorted, "You must be right. For if you are not it doesn't matter, this world will swallow us up anyways. I will talk to the generals, but an attack it very well may have to be. Alert the troops. France marches to war." With that he turned and waived off the rough speaker from before. "Yes, mr president, " the man whispered, and rushed off. Within hours, the soft, quiet air of Paris was the receiver of the first omens, deep booms coming from far away to the east.

Eastern Front:

The remaining reserves in Galicia arrived on the front, which had been starting to stabalize. The Austrians continued to shell the Russian forces, and dig in further, guaranteeing any attack would be extremly bloody. The AH airforce continued to drop bombs on the railroads and reservesd to tie them up and slow them down.

Meanwhile, severl small, nondescript boats pulled out of Ottoman ports and began silently sailing towar the Ukraine. They were loaded with Ukrainian exiles and weapons. Several submarines also followed suit

Serbian front:

The Austrians continued to push forward, and when stopped by heavy resistance, dug in. The Austrians surrounding Belgrade dug in around Belgrade and shelled the city
