(OOC: Hi all, this is my first rp that I have started on my own. I hope I've placed this in the right forum and that it's appropriate. I do realize that it is long however I wanted to give details and a background.)


IC:

A summer wind blew the leaves through the Willow tree that Queen Lehana of the nation of Tarayshia sat under. The queen stretched her legs, enjoying the sun on her skin and the momentary quiet that surrounded her. Leaning back against the tree, Lehana breathed in the smell of summer, and then let her breath out slowly as she began to think about the events of the previous days.
Lehana had welcomed from a particular nation a suitor named Richard, who was a nice man however he moved to fast for her liking. Lehana knew he was sweet, however he was literally declaring his love for her and they had only spent a day together, if that. Although no offer of marriage was presented, Lehana had let him down very easy and he had left five days ago. The queen did not want someone with sweet words that she could not be sure if they had meant anything to the suitor when he had said them, she did not want to marry just to produce an heir which her advisors were pressuring her to do just that. Lehana sighed as she thought about her older sister Jamila, who would have had taken the throne however she had declined the duties in favor for love. That was four years ago, and her sister was very happy where she was with her husband and son.
“Your majesty,” Lehana’s thoughts were interrupted as her advisor, Margo Price’s voice sliced the air like a knife, “Your majesty, may I sit with you?”
“It’s fine with me Margo,” Lehana replied as she folded her legs under the green dress that she was wearing and Margo appeared from around the corner.
“I want to say how sorry I am about Richard,” Margo said as she bowed and sat next to Lehana, “He was a nice kind gentleman however he just, tried to hard I think.”
“Perhaps,” Lehana said unhappily, “I honestly do not know, is there something you wanted Margo?”
The advisor tucked a piece of her red hair back behind an ear before replying, “Yes your majesty, I think it would be wise to send out a message to all nations that you are looking for someone to wed.”
“No,” Lehana stated firmly, “I will not have some power hungry person come and try to…”
“Your majesty,” Margo spoke softly, “You are twenty-four years old, you would like to marry anyways, you need an heir, and you have no prospects coming your way that have worked out.”
“I know you’re right,” Lehana replied, “As much as I do not like this, you may send out the message; however you will write exactly what I tell you to write, do you understand?”
“Yes your majesty,” Margo replied.

A few hours after the two women’s conversation, this signed and approved message went forth to all the nations:

In her office that overlooked the capital city of Tarayshia, advisor Margo Price sat with a pencel, thinking of what to write. She was surprised that her queen hadn't recieved the replies that Margo herself was hoping for. Sighing and placing down her pen, Margo stood and walked out of her office and back to her rooms in her place in the palace.

A young Recruit by Black Agents standards, Agent 90 was still green around the gills. He had graduated, but just barely. He almost didn't make it through the Augmentation. But he did and thats all that mattered. He had long sense forgot his real name, he hadn't heard it since his 4th birth day. And now becoming a Black Agent. He had lived his dream, he could now walk amoung the best solders the world had ever known. The elite, of the elite where trained by them. Top solders would come to train and leave in body bags. Many died while training. Very few ever got the chance to live thier dream. Once he Graduated he was given a check for 4 million USD. And was told that he must live a normal life until he was needed. Most Black Agents where free lance Assasins that killed honorably and did not kill unless forced. Others where the top, only 10 of them exisited and they where the best. And the was Agent 90's second dream. But to live a normal life, he would have to take a wife. But In his heart he could not take one unless he really loved her.....

As Agent 90 sat in his office space he got an e-mail from the Agency.

The Emperor read the report very carefully once his Secretary handed it to him. He was already married, to a so called 'commoner', Private Mary Sussanna, a member of the Imperial Marines. They had been friends since they both met in Maritme Military Selection, a centre for selection for ALL military ranks that his father had sent him to. However, the Emperor knew of one person who might suit this Royal seeking a serious lover.

Leftenant George Mansted. He was serving in the Imperial Fleet, a young man from common roots. No chance of him being a power hungry maniac then. And unfortunatly, this sweet, kind person who was a close friend of the Emperor's youngest of three sons had trouble in relationships. He just couldn't find a girl who wanted to settle down.

Perhaps this man might have his chance for love....

Leftenant George Mansted. He is 25, and of mostly humble roots. This small, but loving upbringing has spawned an intelligent, and most humble of gentlemen. He is a lover of the arts, and quite an accomplished painter and guitarist. I believe you may find much to talk about. On the other side of things, he is also an enthusiastic athlete, but doesn't compete proffessionally on part of his rejection of the ego headedness most 'proffessionals' give off.

His hobbies include camping, running, archery, painting, creating music and listening to a variety of muscial styles.

His name is Manuel Phocas. He is 27 years of age (at 5 to 6 feet) and is a respected man in Roman Greece. Some of his interests are writing, horse riding, painting, reading, athletics, and listening to many kinds of music. It was later that night when Margo Price had returned to her office, with the queen right behind her.
"We have not recieved many replies your majesty," Margo began as she saw the messages on her desk, "However, this is all we have."
Margo made a jesture with her hand to point out all the messages to Lehana; however the queen stared as she replied, "You do not call these a lot of messages Margo? I'm quite surprised and flattered to say the least."
"What would you like me to do your majesty?"
"I'm going to write a letter to each and every one of them," Lehana replied as Margo gaped at her.
"That's really not propper," Margo said.
"Margo," Lehana spoke logically, "I may marry one of these men, thus sharing my bed with them. I think I can write them a short message of a response."
Margo said nothing as Lehana sat at the advisor's desk, and began her replies back to the nations that had responded thus far.

Some of the suitors she was genuinely interested in, however she could not make a final judgement until she met with them. As she walked back towards her bedchamber, she knew that her advisors had to pass there judgement as well, however the choice was hers and hers alone in most parts.

Atticus Konovski sat into his chair. He recently was chosen to be Vice-Governor under the capable leadership of Gregor Dantes for The Worker's State of Kulikovo. Atticus fought in the Socialist Revolution against the Facist regime. He won the Worker's Medal of Bravery. The twenty six year old was one of the more younger leaders of the nation. He read Queen Lehana's message. Atticus had no wife or girlfriend. He did have a love during the war but she perished in the fighting, he bore a heavy burden of heartache. He picked up a pen and began to write. Not knowing exactly what to say he tried to answer the information requested.

Dear Queen Lehana,

I too am looking for someone to embrace and love. I am twenty six with dark brown hair. I weigh around 170lbs. and am 6 feet on the mark. In my spare time I read. My house has a vast library, perhaps to vast for me to ever finish. I also write novels, though I'm not very good at it. I am athletic, I had to be during the war. It turned me into a strong man, physically and mentally. I studied at the Jonensberg University before the war where my major was history and literature. I wanted to be a teacher but it was difficult to do that under the former facist regime. I have a strong sense of loyalty and I enjoy working towards goals I think are important. That's why I joined the army and became Vice-Governor. I'm not a very good artist but I do like to visit galleries. I don't understand modern art, I prefer scenery and people. I hope that you will be so kind as to reply.

Atticus looked over and saw his German Sheperd, Bruno. Bruno walked over to him and licked his hand. Bruno barked loudly.

"Do you think I stand a chance?" Atticus asked Bruno, whom just sat there.
"I'm sure she's recieved tons of letters from all this nobles across the world trying to win her hand. How can I compete with them? When I was a student it was so tough to pay my way. I dropped out just before the war. These princes and nobles probably have the best education money can buy."

Bruno barked and pawed at him "Thanks for the encouragement" Atticus replied.

"Another suitor for our queen," Marlana Dekas said as she past Margo in the hallway on the way to the queen's chambers, "She has gotten many replies."
"Well let us hope so," Margo said as she fell in step with Marlana, "We need an heir, Lehana is 24 years old and like I have said before, no prospects in our country."
"Lets hope she has a daughter," Marlana said as she knocked upon Lehana's door.
When Lehana had brought the two advisors in to the room, Marlana handed her the message, "It says on the envelope that it is from a person named Atticus Konovski."
"I can read Marlana," Lehana said as she opened the letter and read.

"He's been in a war," Lehana said out loud.
"What man has not fought?"
Marlana replied as the queen nodded, "I liked his openness in his letter; about how he is looking for someone."
"I don't know; you have enough suitors," Marlana said as Lehana frowned.
"Marlana, you may leave."
"Why?"
"Please get me some paper and a pen," Lehana said as she sat at her dressing table, "I'm going to write Mr. Konovski a letter."
After the message was written, it was sent to the man. His letter read:

Hello Mr. Konovski, I thank you very much for your letter. I honestly liked what I read about you, and I'm interested in meeting. If you are up for that, please respond as soon as possible. I would like it for you to come to my homeland.

Atticus grabbed Brunos face and stretched out his cheeks. "Did you hear that Bruno, she wants to meet me!" Bruno barked in excitement. "I can't believe this, I feel hopeful.

Jonensberg, Kulikovo

There was a knock at the door. Governor-General Dantes walked in. He stroked his beard and looked at Atticus "What's all the excitement?"

Atticus stood up "Gregor, I recieved a letter from Queen Lehana of Tarayshia. She wishes to meet me. That is why I'm so excited."

"A monarchy? You know full well that we don't deal with monarchies. They're just as bad as those damn facists and capitalists. They represent the oppression that we fight against, you can't be serious?"

Atticus had to think fast "Uh-Well, our nation can always use allies. It would send a good message to other nations that we are not stingy on who we deal with." He began to sweat.

"Okay, I will allow you to go. Go in the name of diplomacy, work out an alliance with them." Dantes stepped out.

"I wanted to go as a person, not a politician. I want to meet Queen Lehana, not for political or diplomatic reasons." Atticus said to himself.

Atticus walked up to the window and gazed out upon the city. Darkness hung over the city but it was all lights and life on the streets. Young couples trotted down the streets, laughing and loving. It has been a long time since he was in their place.
"W-What do I do now? I'll be meeting her in less than a week! Should I bring flowers? What kind of suit should I wear? How do you address a queen?" A million questions raced through his mind. But, he finally figured out was not to think of her as a queen but just as a woman. If he did that, he would be alright. He got out a glass and bottle of vodka. He looked at it, deciding on wether or not to drink. With a sigh he put it back in the cabinet.

A group of people were standing outside a building with a red ribbon on its entrance. A man dressed in a formal uniform (Manuel Phocas) stood on the podium, ready to address the crowd. ''It gives me great pleasure in announcing the opening of a new home for street children here in the city of Stara Zagora. Here is another place where children with no home, no food, and no way of living on the cold streets can stay. I hope that soon poverty can be ended so that no child has to suffer on the streets.''

Just then, a mailman came and gave a letter to Manuel Phocas. ''To: Roman Greece

I thank you for your letter, and your description. I would like to meet with you whenever is possible.
Queen Lehana'' the letter said in elegant writing. Manuel finished his speech with a joyful feeling and cut the ribbon, then went off to the place he was staying at.

Manuel got out some paper and wrote ''Dearest Lehana, I thank you for allowing me to meet with such a fine, respectable woman as yourself. I could come in a day or so if you would like. I am sure that we can discuss many things like the state of children and families in poverty or anything that you would like to discuss. Before I end this letter of mine, I would like to say that from the interests and hobbies and so on that you have, it seems that you are a good woman who can lead a country and that you are a caring person that when they see a person on the ground, they would pick them up instead of leaving them. I end this letter with this: Peace and Prosperity be with you and your nation.

The queen sat in her chambers later that afternoon, secretly wondering if Atticus would be the one. She knew in part that it was foolish of her given the reason that she had so many suitors,however she couldn't help but have those thoughts in her mind. She was curious to see if she would feel the same way when other suitors would come to call on her. Getting out a pen and paper, she wrote him perhaps a bold letter, however she wished to write him nonetheless.

I must say sir that I'm very happy that you are coming to meet me this Saturday. I look forward to us talking to one another and getting to know one another. My nation is blessed with wonderful beaches, lush jungles if you like hiking, and on the night you arrive we shal have a banquet in your honor and welcome you to Tarayshia.

When the queen had finished her message, she wondered if leaving her title out of her letter was propper or not.
'I just won't tell my advisors.'
She thought, and as she sent the letter she was curious to see if he would notice, and his reaction to her forwardness.

Dear Lehana,

I am anxious to meet you. I look forward to seeing the beaches, jungles and hiking. I enjoy being outside. You don't need to throw a banquet for me. I never really felt comfortable in formal situations like that. Perhaps we could share a meal together, just the two of us. We'll be ourselves, not heads of states. I admire that you are not like other monarchs with their superior attitudes. We both feel the pressure of goverment for us to be what they want. I look forward to meeting you

To say that the queen was pleased at Atticus's reply was an under statement. Saturday was fast coming, and her servants and maids were readying the palace where Atticus would be staying, of course in a wing far from the queen's personal chambers. On that Thursday afternoon, Lehana wrote Atticus back.
The young woman liked his openness in his letters in reguards to the goverment.

Hello Atticus, I thank you for your letter. It is honestly no trouble throwing you a banquet, however since you don't like a lot of those situations I won't do that. It is a good thing I did not alert the servants about the banquet.
I know how leading a country is, ever since my older sister gave up the throne when I was 18 and she was 22 I have been queen for 6 years. My sister lives in another country with her husband and son, her husband is why she left she wished to be with him. Do you have any brothers or sisters?

It is nice to hear from you again. I did have a brother, Alexi. He died just before the revolution. We became interested in the Socialist movement. They promised freedom from the facists. The Secret Police captured my brother, who was older and me. They executed my brother. Seeing how I was a few years younger they chose not to kill me but to send a message to the citizenry. The tied me to a poll in the city square and flogged me. I passed out from all the lashes. My brother's death is the main thing that caused me to join the rebels. I rarely ever talk about him. I admired him and he was a good person. But, I hope I didn't depress you by what I just wrote. I can't wait to meet you.

Atticus packed his bags and attended a meeting with Dantes and the other advisors. Their words bored him. Later, he went down to the florist shop and bought some roses.

When the queen had recieved the letter the day before Atticus's arrival, she read and then reread it agian. Lehana knew that she had been blessed by the gods and goddesses from above to live in a peaceful nation all her life. There was a civil war that had torn the nation apart, however that was a couple hundred years before her birth. That was how the Montas family had come into power; when the war had ended.
Lehana sat and penned out a letter:

Atticus, I am very sorry about what happened to your brother Alexi and to you. It is horible what one nation will do to another for power; my heart goes out to you and your family, even though it was a long time ago.
I see that this may be the last letter that I write to you,

Atticus was so nervous, his right hand trembled. The scars on his back still hurt from time to time but he shrugged it off. He read her letter and placed it with the rest which he saved. He looked in the mirror and splashed watre on his face.Then he looked back at himself through the mirror. His hazel eyes examined what they saw.

"This is it" He said.

Atticus walked up the stairs to the jet. A small company of bodygurads and a few aides accompanied him. But, at the last moment he ordered them to stay behind. "The negotiations would go much better if I didn't have anyone breathing down my neck." It was a smart move because now he was free, for a few days at least. He would walk off that plane as Atticus, not Vice-Governor Konovski. He grasped the roses he got for Lehana and gazed out the window as the jet took off.

I later received an honorable discharge from the military. These days I mainly work for more civil rights in Maikeria, as we have almost none. If you want to know about me, here are my "stats":

It was the Saturday that Queen Lehana was going to meet Atticus, her first suitor. Her maids had gotten her up early that day, to prepare her for the gentleman's arrival that was scheduled for that afternoon. Margo had told her that a jet would be landing at Tarayshia's private airport for the queen and then he would be met by her and Marlana along with bodyguards that wouled take him to the palace to meet Lehana.
"It will give us a chance to meet him," Margo said as Marlana nodded in agreement.
"Do not be to harsh on him," Lehana warned as a maid tightened the strings of her corset and she gasped.
"You would think as queen I'd get around to outlawing these damn things," Lehana said as her gown was pulled from off her bed where it had been laying in order for Lehana to slip into it.
"You have a message," her third advisor Saweta Dooks walked into the room, handing the queen a note.
"Thank you," Lehana said as she opened the letter and read it. Lehana was interested in the mesenger, however was to busy to reply at the moment.
"Saweta please write him back for me," Lehana said as the woman nodded, "I'll tell you what to write."

"Your majesty," Saweta walked in to the queen's chambers, "The suitor should be coming soon; we must take you to the throne room so you can be ready for his arival."
Lehana sighed as her maid placed on a bit more make-up which the queen normally didn't like, she straightened the gown and followed Saweta to the room. Her throne was situated on a platform that was only about 5 or 6 inches above the ground, the throne itself was lined with silk and jules, it had been past down to every royal family member that had ruled Tarayshia. Lehana sat as a maid placed her simple crown made from diamonds and crystal on her head and they all stepped back.
"You look beautiful your highness," Saweta said as she bowed, "I'm sure your suitor won't be able to take his eyes from you."
"Thank you Saweta," Lehana replied, "Please leave and you may come back whenever he comes."
"Yes your majesty," Saweta said as she and the rest followed her out and closed the door to the room.
When her advisor and servants were gone, Lehana leaned back and tried to calm herself. She was nervous to say the least, she has never met a suitor before. The queen wore a gown made from the finest silk in Tarayshia, the blue colored gown brought out the color in her eyes very well. Beads down the front of her dress made paterns on the material. Her ebony hair was situated on top of her head, with a few pieces sweeping her graceful neck. A neckless of pearls sat around her neck, resting in the bit of cleavage that her dress permitted.

"Sir, we're about to land" said the pilot over the intercom. Atticu looked out the window and was awstruck by the beauty of what he saw. This nation surely was beautiful. He tapped his fingers off the arm rest as the jet touched down on the air strip. He stood up with the roses and made his way to the exit. "Wish me luck" said Atticus to the pilot

"Don't worry sir, you'll do just fine. Just be yourself" the pilot replied. His words gave him some encouragement as he stepped off and met with some of lehana's advisors and bodygurads. The bodygurads seemed cold emotionless. The advisors studied him from head to toe. "What a warm welcoming" he thought to himself.

"He looks handsome," Marlana whispered to Margo as Atticus came off the jet.
"Yes," Margo replied, "I believe our queen will be pleased with that."
As the young man walked up to the two women advisors; Margo looked him in the eyes, "So you must be Atticus Konovski. It is nice to meet you."
She stuck out her hand for Atticus to shake, "We thank you for traveling such a long way to meet our Queen Lehana."
Margo replied as Marlana nodded, "We'll be taking you to the palace now, you will be safe in our country."
The body guards began to lead Atticus towards a limo that would take him to Lehana's home.

Atticus shook their hands and exchanged compliments. He knew that they were there to size him up before he met Lehana. "They probably got her n dispaly in the palace. To send a message or something. Either way, I can't wait to meet her." He thought to himself as the car sped off. They finally reached the palace, it was a magnificant sight to see. The splendor of the palace and all what he saw was undescribable. He all of a sudden felt that roses weren't a good enough gift. At last, they walked up to the entrance to then throne room, he held his roses tight and walked in.

The sheer beauty of Lehana stopped him in his tracks. She was beautiful in the photos, but in person was quite a different thing. He couldn't take his eyes off her as he walked forward. "Queen Lehana, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. I got these roses for you" He hardly knew what to do or say next. So, he kissed her on the hand, but did not kneel.

Lehana was glad for the headrest in the throne as she rested her head lightly upon it in order to relax. It wasn't until she heard footsteps outside the door that she hurriedly straightened up and patted her hair when Atticus walked in. She saw the roses and smiled, "It is a pleasure to meet you Atticus."
She grinned as he kissed her hand and she said her voice warm and friendly, "I welcome you to the nation of Tarayshia, I do hope you have a nice time here."
She could hear Marlana quietly clear her throat as Atticus did not kneel before her, "I thank you for the roses, they look beautiful. Marlana go fetch a vace and put these in some water."
"Yes your majesty," Marlana replied as she took the flowers and bowed before leaving the room. Lehana knew why she did and her heart went out to the young man in front of her. Marlana was bowing in order to show Atticus that he should do as well. As Marlana straightened, Lehana glaired at her advisor as she left.
"Margo," Lehana snapped at the other advisor, "Go get Atticus a chair."
Her voice was more harsh, however she hated when her advisors inforced proticall upon her guests; the queen herself wanted them to feel welcomed, not embarrassed.

"I hope you don't take offense to my not bowing. Pride is a minor flaw for me" He felt like he did something wrong, he didn't want to get into a debate about Socialism and class struggle. he managed to refrain. All he could think about was her beauty. She didn't seem like the aristocratic type. "It's an honor to be here. You rule over a blessed land. Kulikovo is not as beautiful, but the citizenry keep in high spirits. I can get a chair for myself." Atticus looked around the hall and finally found a chair.

"You did not have to do that," Lehana said as he had gotten the chair for himself, "May I have someone bring you something to eat or drink?"
Lehana smiled at Atticus as she cleared her throat, "so, you are the Governor of your nation?"

"Please write him back for me," Lehana said after she had read the letter, "Tell him that I'm sorry for his mother's death."
"Yes your majesty," Saweta replied as she exited the room.
"Well as for what it is like here," Lehana chuckled, "It can get rather busy around here. I'm the leader of this nation, I have 10 advisors that help guide me in my leadership. Margo, Saweta, and Marlana are the closest to me."

Atticus glared at Saweta with suspecion. He felt that he was not welcomed by some of lehana's advisors. "I am not a 'suitor' in that sense. I just want to get to know an interesting woman whom I want to be with."

Lehana liked his attitude, he seemed like a laid back kind of person. Stepping down off her throne, Lehana's shoes touched the ground and she stood straight, "Would you like a tour of the palace grounds?"

"I'd love to take a tour with you" Atticus stood up and put the chair back where he found it, then held out his arm for Lehana to hold. The door opened up and they walked out. "I didn't mean to be harsh with Saweta, I hope she'll understand."

"Oh I don't mind," Lehana said as she took his arm, "I like people that say what is on there minds, however I think Saweta is a bit harsh."
They walked down the staircase off the main hall where the throne was, "We have the palace gardens, then the private beaches for my staff and I, or I could have one of the servants show you to where you'll be staying. We already had someone take your bag to your quarters."

Atticus felt warm inside for the first time in a while. He was much more used to the harsh life as a soldier back in Kulikovo. But this place seemed like a different world. He never knew anynoe like Lehana. "L-let's see the beach, if that's alright. But if you're tired we don't have to" They continued strolling down the hall.

"Sure, the beach is no problem," Lehana said as she looked down at her clothes, "Would you mind if I stopped off at my chambers to change? I do not think this is appropriate for the beach."
She stopped and turned to him, looking in his hazel eyes, "If you want you could change as well; who knows you may want to go for a swim."
Lehana chuckled as she smiled, she feeling a crush coming over her even though it had only been an hour or so.
'Stop it.'
The voice in her head scolded herself;
'You have others to meet.'
Clearing her throat the queen lowered her eyes;

Atticus felt nervous, but the good nervous. "I'll go find my stuff, I'm pretty sure I brought swimming trunks, I'll be back soon." Atticus departed to find his room, it was a very large palace and he got lost several times. Being a guy, he couldn't ask directions but eventually found his room. Inside, he looked in the mirror "I can't believe this" he said to himself. He put on his swimming trunks and put on a shirt and went off to find Lehana.

Lehana relaxed her shoulders, "Sure, I hope you'll be able to find your room."
Then she left him, walking quickly to her chambers and in pulling open the door, called for one of her maids to help her undress. When she emerged sometime later, gone was the fancy gown and crown and in it's place was a simple brown sundress, her ebony hair flowing down her back to her waist. Sandles sat on her feet, the dress coming to just above her tan legs as she searched the palace for Atticus. Underneath her dress was her one piece swim suit; she didn't want to show to much to someone that she had just met.

Atticu rounded the corner and saw Lehana. 'She looks beautiful' he said to himself.

"Lehana, I thought I was never going to find my way out of that maze. It was like a labyrinth, I swore I saw a minotaur walking around. Are you ready? Lead the way."

'He looks good.'
Lehana thought and smiled as she saw him, "I know what you mean about the palace, it was so fun as a child playing hide and go seek."
She laughed at the childhood memory as she took Atticus's arm and began walking towards the doors that lead the two outside, "I can't tell you how many times my sister and I got lost in this place."
The two of them made it outside, the summer wind blowing around them as they walked. Lehana carefully stepped on the ground, nodding to the guard to open the gate when they came across it.
"You can see the ocean from here," Lehana stopped out of the gate, "It looks good and calm."

Atticus gazed out at the beach and ocean, it was beautiful. Kulikovo doesn't have beaches like this. Everything was relaxed and calm and pleasant. They strolled along the beach. A soldier and a queen walking along the beach.

Lehana inquired, watching the waves wash upon the sand, "I've lived here all my life I can't imagine not being near one."

"There are some beaches, but the water is too cold to swim. Except for those who are trying to break world records for swimming. Your nation is truly blessed with peace and beauty." Atticus continued walking. He never swam in a warm water ocean before, so he walked up to the waves and took off his shirt, revealing the scars on his back from the flogging "I hope the scars on my back don't upset you" He walked into the water and felt its warmnth.

"Oh," Lehana replied as she saw him take off his shirt. The woman couldn't help but briefly look upon the scars, she never have seen something like that. Swallowing, Lehana slipped out of her dress and shoes and walked up to Atticus in the water, her swim suit doing nothing to hide the curves of her body.

"I'm sorry if the scars disturb you. It's the price I had to pay in order to see the truth. Let's not dwell upon all that. It's so beautiful here. It helps one forget about all the troubles of reality." Atticus looked over to Lehana and her beauty. He smiled and splashed water on her.

Lehana gasped as she realized what she had been doing, "I'm so sorry, no they aren't disturbing I guess I just wasn't expecting that."
Lehana laughed as he splashed water on her, she of course splashing him back. The queen ducked her head under the water, swimming a bit away from Atticus as she surfaced. Her wet hair plastard to her head, the sun shining down upon her and her make-up was smeared however she didn't care.

Atticus knew she was staring at his scars, he didn't mind. He was proud of his scars. They proved how difficult his struggle against the facists was and how dedicated he was.

"It sure feels nice not to have to act like a head of state, don't it?" Atticus was enjoying himself. He enjoyed Lehana's company and he hoped she enjoyed his.

Lehana smiled as she floated closer to Atticus, "Yes it is, sometimes you just have to break free and have fun."
She sighed, really thinking that her advisors had a good idea this time;
"You know," Lehana said as she knelt in the water, "I wasn't even happy when Margo brought up the fact that I need a suitor. I do not want to be forced in to a marriage just to produce an heir. That is why my advisors strongly advised me to send out the message for a suitor."

"When I replied to your letter, I didn't really think of myself as a 'suitor' or anything like that. Just a guy looking for a gal" Atticus continued to flat in the warm water. "I'm glad I did reply"

"What will I say to the other men that will most likely come here?"
Lehana said, "Atticus, have you truly thought about what becoming my husband will do to you? You'd have to move here; and I honestly feel for you leaving your homeland. What about your family?"
Her mind went back to what he had wrote about his brother;

Atticus turned to Lehana "Who cares about those other men. There's no one left for me in Kulikovo, only memories of a hard life. Every moment I spend with you I think more about us and what can be" He moved closer to her.

"You do?"
Lehana said as she brought her hand out of the warm water and briefly touched Atticus's shoulder; her hand felt cool against his skin, "I think you are a kind man, and we have the next few days to get to know one another."

Atticus brought his hand up and touched hers. "Your are a good woman with a pure heart. It's been a long time since I've felt this way about anyone." He gazed at her. The waves splashed against the two.

Lehana felt the flips in her stomach, the way her sister Jamila said she had felt when she had met her husband.
'You have other men that you must meet with.'
Lehana thought as she cleared her throat and squeezed his hand, "Let us give it sometime, I would hate to rush things. Besides, if you think being vice-governor is tough have you thought about what being king of Tarayshia would be like?"

A shockwave went through his body 'King?' He thought 'It goes against everything I've ever believed in. I would be a traitor to Socialism and my country!' He tried to find the right words. 'They would never forgive me'

"-You're right, let's not rush this." Atticus said as he smiled at Lehana. "What other people do I have to meet?" he held her hand gently.

When she mentioned the word King, Lehana saw the look upon his face. Concerned she inquired, "Atticus, what's wrong? Did I say something to upset you?"
Lehana said, hoping she hadn't scared him off;

"N-No, I'm fine. Just thinking." Atticus began to sweat. He knew that he would be going against his beliefs 'I don't care, she's worth leaving all that, someone with her personality don't come along very often' he thought. He stroked her hand as they waded in the water.

"It's alright," Lehana replied, "you don't have to talk about it if you don't like to."
Lehana smiled as she liked the stroking of his hand against her skin.
"We," she whispered as she became lost in his hazel eyes, "We have many things to do in the palace. We could go running sometime if you like, or I could show you the library."
Lehana innwardly was fighting a struggle, trying to keep in mind that she other, "commitments," to keep with other people. She was going to try her hardest to give each person a chance.
'Although he makes one hell of a first impression.'
She thought in her mind as she looked at the blue sky.

OCC: I'm calling a night, nice talking. Let's say this is the end of their first day.

Atticus looked at her and smiled. For the first time he could be himself with another person. Lehana was different. He enjoyed being with her. But, it was getting late and they were both tired.

"Let's call it a night, I really had a geat time this evening, goodnight" He said to her. His hand caressed her arm.

Lehana agreed and smiled as they got out of the water and headed back to the palace. Dinner was short and full of light chatter and before she knew it, she was asleep with moments of her head touching the pillow. The queen not knowing what the future held for her.

Atticus wandered back to his room, smiling. It was a large and fancy bedroom, it didn't fit him. He took a nice shower, got out and put on a pair of shorts. He sat on the bed and stretch his muscles, his back cracked with his exposed scars. Lehana consumed his every thought 'She's something special' he thought 'I can't lose her to those suitors'. He laid his head on the pillow and fell asleep.

Hours later he woke up in a cold sweat and breathing heavily. He had another nigthmare. Talking about his brother brought back the memories. He decided to take a walk. He put on a shirt and wandered about. He found himself looking out over the ocean from a veranda. It was quiet and peaceful, it calmed him down. 'She has suitors to deal with. Pompus spoiled brats, that's all they are. I'm sure some of them were in a war, but it is one thing to command a rgiment. It's entirely different to kill a man with your bare hands' Once more, a million questions ran through his mind 'No matter' he thought.

Lehana woke up just an hour or so after the sun had risen. Walking over to her dressing table, she ran a comb through out her hair, got undressed and slipped into the shower.
Atticus was now on her mind, along with the duty she had to meet with the other suitors.
'They won't be like Atticus.'
Lehana thought as she turned off the water, got out, dried off and put on a white tank top with a skirt that showed off her long legs, the top exposing her tanned shoulders. Finding a maid she had asked her where Atticus was at.
"I believe that he's out on the belcony," the maid replied.
"Thank you," Lehana replied as she wandered around the palace. She found herself leaning against a rel on a belcony that faced the ocean, her mind drifting; she not seeing Atticus around.

Atticus still stood there, the sunrise was beautiful. He didn't get much sleep but it didn't bother him, he was used to it. He stretched and groaned. A little distance away he saw Lehana. The rays of the sun magnified her beauty.

"Morning Lehana, I hope you slept well!" he called out, trying to grab her attention.

Lehana jumped a little as she heard Atticus's voice from some distance away. Turning her head, she smiled as her bear feet hit the warm stone and she walked over to Atticus.
"I hope you slept well Atticus," Lehana said, "Goodmorning to you as well. Are you hungry?"

Atticus smiled as she approacjed him "Oh, I'm sorry to have startled you. Isn't that a beautiful sunrise?" His stomach growled "Why yes-I am a bit hungry."

"Yes, the sunrise is wonderful," Lehana said as Atticus answered her question.
"I'm feeling hungry as well," Lehana said as she began to lead him inside the palace, "I'll go tell someone to fix us something. What would you like?"
She asked, her voice light;

Atticus continued walking with her "I could eat just about anything, I could go eat that minotaur I saw last night in the labyrinth. What do you recomend?"

Lehana laughed, "Well, we can do pancakes, eggs, both bacon; whatever your heart desires."
Lehana laughed, "I could go for both; I'm starving we had a light dinner the night before."

Atticus looked her in the eyes. "That all sounds just fine, I can't wait" he said "I hope you had an enjoyable time last night, I know I did. I enjoyed your comapny."

"Great," Lehana replied as she conveniently saw Margo rounding the corner.
"Margo," Lehana quickly said as the advisor stopped, "Please go notify the cook that we'd like pancakes, eggs and the like made and brought to the dining room."
"Right away your majesty," Margo replied as she nodded to Atticus and went off to do what the queen had asked her to do.

"I wonder what happened to Saweta. I hope she isn't out plotting my demise or anything." said Atticus, his stomach growled loudyly "Excuse me" They continued walking down the hallway, Lehana leading the way.

"Oh no," Lehana replied, "Saweta isn't like that, that I know of."
"It's alright," Lehana said as they came across the dining room; the table already set, "I'm hungry as well."

The two of them went to the table. Atticus pulled a seat out for Lehana. Once she sat he went to his seat. "So, where does your sister live then, does she still live in the country? Do she have any children?"

"Thank you," Lehana said after he pulled out her chair and she made herself comfortable.
"My sister Jamila is older than me," Lehana began, "She lives to the north of here with her husband and son."
Her mind went back to Jamely, she hadn't seen her since the birth of her son and that was 4 years ago.
"I miss her," Lehana said.

"Well, she sounds like a truly kind hearted woman. You should go and visit her sometime. It's a good thing to stay in touch with family members, even when you're busy." Atticus said as he looked at her.

"I agree," Lehana replied, "However I always mean to, then things come and I get distracted. I do feel bad, however things happen."

"I know how it is. I may not run Kulikovo but my office keeps me busy enough. Hell, the only reason they let me go was because they want me to hammer out an alliance or something like that, I didn't really pay attention during the meeting. I tend to drift off. It's all boring but stressful at the same time." said Atticus

Lehana got a thoughtful look upon her face, "Well, if you were to marry me, wouldn't that be an alliance in your country's eyes?"

Atticus thought about his answer "Well, I guess in a way it would. But that's not what the Kulikovian goverment has in mind, not that I care what they think. I don't intened to run for re-election next time. I wouldn't want to marry you for political reasons. But for more true reasons." He said

OCC: I gotta get going. You can manipulate my character to keep the story moving, but just don't go overboard, nice chatting

Lehana thought a moment before replying, "I understand Atticus, however I'd hate for you to leave your country in bad terms with them. Or worse, be exiled or something like that."
Just then 3 servants walked in carrying the plates of food and goblets full of water.
"I hope it is satisfactory," a servant commented as they placed the things on the table, "May we get you anything else?"

"Don't take it the wrong way. I do love my country. I bled to make Kulikovo the Socialist state it is now. I just think it's time for me to drop out of the political scene in my country." Atticus tried to find the right words, it was difficult. "We can just say that we reached an agreement or something, I don't really want to talk about politics." he felt nervous

'I hope she's not offended' he thought.

(OOC: It looks like everything is back to normal;however we lost the posts that we had posted when the site was having problems. However, it was nothing important. I say on with the rp! haha..)

Lehana stared at Atticus for a moment, her blue eyes gazing in to his own. In the back of her mind, she knew that he was going to give up his country for her.
'However he has just met you.'
A voice said in the back of her head as she spoke to one of the servants, "Everything is fine, I'm fine what about you Atticus?"

"Uh-I'm fine, thanks" he said. Atticus lost his thought in Lehana's eyes. He continued eating, not exactly knowing what to say next so he stuffed his face with food. 'Way to go, make yourself out to look like a pig, smooth move' he thought.

Lehana began eating as well, she knowing that Atticus seemed to be very hungry.
"I'd hate for your nation to think we were starving you," she said after swallowing; then she laughed, "I hope that even though it has only been a day that you're having a nice time."

"Yes, I've had a great time here. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun." said Atticus. He continued eating. He had horrible eating manners. His elbows were on the table, he talked for a bit with his mouth full of food, he had bad posture and leaned over his plate. He never really thought about it till he saw how Lehana ate. He tried to improve his habits. "Excuse my bad manners." he said

'Good going, what a good way to make her run away. She'll be afraid that you'll eat her' he thought

Lehana saw how he ate, however didn't say anything. It just wasn't a nice thing to do to company from somewhere else.
Lehana sat straight, had good manors however she knew why because she was taught that way. You didn't go to etiquette school for three years and learn nothing, she thought. Her thoughts were interupted as her advisor Saweta walked in to the room.
'Oh great another thing to make Atticus feel uncomfortable.'
Lehana thought as she placed a fake smile upon her face, "Goodmorning Saweta, it's a nice day outside."
"Goodmorning your highness," Saweta replied as she bowed and looked at Atticus, "Goodmorning to you as well."

Atticus looked up and saw his best friend, Saweta, he purposely didn't swallow his food before speaking "Good morning to you too, Saweta." He said through his stuffed cheeks. 'That may not have been the best thing to do Atticus, do something else childish to make them look down on you' he thought.

When Lehana saw what Atticus had done, she wiped a napkin across her face so Saweta wouldn't see the smerk that she threw in Atticus's direction.
"Well," Saweta began clearly put off by his rudeness, "It's nice to see you again..."
Her voice trailed off as her brown eyes gazed around the room;

Atticus felt better about what he did when he saw Lehana smirking.

OCC: I don't know what else to say, so you say something

The advisor sighed as she gazed at the queen, "Just make sure to keep in mind that you have other suitors that you as a queen, it is your duty to meet with them; your majesty."
Then Saweta turned and nearly stormed out, clearly not happy;
"I'm sorry about her," Lehana said soothingly, "Saweta can be rather..."
She stopped, "Well I'm not sure how to describe her."

"I should be the one to apologize, what I did was rude. She's just doing her job" Atticus didn't want to say anything bad about Saweta. "Seeing how you do have 'suitors' to deal with I guess we should make the most of our time.What should we do next?" he said.

Atticus got nervous, what he said didn't come out right. 'Great, she'll think you're getting smart with her' he thought.

Lehana sighed, "I know, however she shouldn't have been so harsh with you."
When Atticus asked her of what they should do next she said, "I feel like taking a walk, what about you?"

"A walk sounds great" said Atticus. He felt like he insulted Lehana there and he felt sorry. He finished up his food and stood up. He stretched and cracked his back. "I enjoy walking, it clears the mind, and it's healthy. I guess I'll go get changed".

"Yes," Lehana replied, "A walk does everything good."
Lehana said as she stood up and pushed in the chair, "I'll change and meet you on the belcony that I met you on this morning."
Lehana said as she smiled and turned from Atticus and made it back to her rooms to change.
Ten minutes later, Lehana reapearped in a silk black skirt that went below her thies and a white top with sandles. Her hair pulled up in a bun.

Atticus went back to his room, splashed water on his face. Then he put on a pair of jeans and a shirt. he went back to the balcony and saw Lehana there. She once more looked beautiful. He stretched out his hand "Ready to go?" he asked.

Lehana grinned as she saw him; he looking handsome to her.
"Yes I'm ready to go," Lehana said as she took his arm.
"I can show you the rose bushes and the willow trees," Lehana replied, "The willow trees are my favorite place."

Atticus smiled as she took his arm. The rose bushes and willow trees sounded nice and peaceful. They began to walk as they engaged in idle chit chat about stuff. Once more he thought about all the stuff she said earlier, about marriage. The more he thought, the more he realized it was possible.

'But she has those 'suitors to meet' he said to himself, still holding her. 'What chance would I actually stand against them?' he thought.

When Lehana and Atticus had reached where the grove of willows were; Lehana pointed towards a stone bench that had been built by her mother, "I come here sometimes, to get away from everyone and everything. In your nation, do you have a place that you go to?"
Lehana sat upon the bench, patting the spot beside her for Atticus to sit if he would like. The sun was rising ever higher in the blue summer sky.

Atticus gladly took the seat next to her. He stretched his arm out over the back of the bench. "This is a beautiful bench" he remarked "Kulikovo, despite its turbulant past has beaufiful landscapes. In the south there are deep forests with mountains and beautiful rivers. I would go there and fish, hunt, hike, and just admire its beauty. I recomend going there sometime." he said.

Lehana smiled, "Kulikovo sounds very nice," she said as she leaned back, "Perhaps I can visit it sometime."
Lehana paused a minute, "You like to hunt? So does my sister, I couldn't get into it however."

Atticus looked at her "I can't hunt deer or any game like that. Because they're defenseless and kind of cute. I hunt bears, wolves, mountain lions, animals like that. It's more thrilling that way, in my opinion. I prefer to use a bow, it takes more skill. But when it's a bear, I'm more inclined to hide in a tree. When it walks under me I leap from the tree and latch onto it's back and fight to the death with it. Obviously I'm always the winner." said Atticus, laughing while talking.

"I see," Lehana said, "The lion here is the national animal, more specifically the lioness. That is a female lion; my government is a queendom, run by women."
Lehana stopped as she looked sheepishly down at the ground, "I'm sorry, I'm saying things that you probably know."

"Buck up" Atticus said as he nudged her in the shoulder. He saw that she looked down towards the ground "I think it's interesting that this nation is run by women. The rest of your nation is very interesting and so are you."

'I guess my joke about the bear wasn't very funny' he thought.

Lehana smiled up at him, "Thank you for your complaments; so, you think I'm interesting? Why is that?"
She inquired, thinking it nice of him to be supportive of the fact that her country was run by women, and not by men which was very common.

"For starters, you don't let your power go to your head. You rule this blessed land with a good heart and common sense. You're modest. You're beautiful, you're funny. You have a good head on your shoulders, you're smart. Need I go on?" Atticus replied, smiling.

Lehana smiled, "I thank you for your words. I think you are kind, handsome, loyal, and brave. You seem very caring as well."
Lehana finished, she knew loyality was good, no husband of her's would even intertain the thought of taking a mistress. Her father had, and for a reason that Lehana didn't know of her mother had allowed it.

"And with women governing a nation, I see no problem with it. If a man can do so, then why not a woman? said Atticus. He enjoyed her compliments. They continued sitting there, chatting.

"Lets just say I know how most men can be," Lehana replied, "Not all, however a lot of them do not have the open mind that you do. By the way Atticus, how many days will you be staying? Please don't take that the wrong way, I'm only curious."

"Well, when you get tired of me" smirked Atticus. His hand almost reached around to hold her shoulder, but he hesitated. Not knowing if he would be allowed to do so.

Lehana smiled, "I'm not tired of you Atticus."
She gazed at him, curious to know what was going on inside his head. She knew that some of her advisors had been harsh with him, and she felt bad however she also knew they were just doing the job that she had picked them to do. A small smile played on her lips as a light blush rose to her cheeks. She was so close, maybe to close to him she thought however couldn't make herself move.

Atticus took a big risk. He took a deep breath and brought his hand about onto her shoulder. "I know, I can't get tired of myself either" Atticus joked. He became nervous, waiting to see how she'd react.

Lehana chuckled at his statement, "We all can tire of ourselves, do you think I enjoy being queen all the time?"
She relaxed as his hand touched her shoulder, and she smiled at him.

Atticus relaxed himself "I'd like to say yes. But, the answer is probably no. Sometimes, I wished I was a farmer or a factory worker, or a soldier again. Because they all live simpler lives. Not to say anyone's life is simple, we're all complex beings with emotions and thoughts." said Atticus, his hand stroked her arm.

Lehana didn't mind the action, "Hmmm, I never have really thought about what I'd be if I weren't queen of Tarayshia. I've just thought, maybe run away to somewhere else."

'Well, what would you be if you weren't a queen?" asked Atticus. He wanted to know her answer. It was something he wondered about, but it didn't consume him. It would be interesting to hear her answer.

Lehana thought a moment, "I'm not sure, maybe a fighter to? I really don't know."

OOC: Thanks, askiing was the polite thing to do.

"You'd dominate the battlefield" replied Atticus "I would run for my life" Atticus smirked a little. "That sure is a drastic contrast to your present occupation."

OCC: yes it was.

Lehana laughed, "Yeah right, however I thank you for your support."

"My support is there to be had" responded Atticus. He looked up to the sky and saw the blue skies, it was a beautiful day, with a beautiful woman.

The two sat in silence for a bit until Lehana thought of a question, "Atticus, have you ever had a girlfriend?"

Atticus looked to the ground and sighed. "Yes, when I was a student I had a girlfriend. Someone who was very dear to me. We agreed that after we graduated from the university that we would marry. That was before what happened to me and my brother. I went off the join the Kulikovo Liberation Army. Two years later our forces surrounded the capital, the last area undercontrol by the facists. It was horrible street fighting. Before we entered the city, there were freedom fighters inside, my fiance being one of them. Our squad came up to a ditch where severl dozen were executed. My fiance was amoung them..." Atticus began to tremble. He stopped talking about it. It hurt him.

Lehana sighed, "I'm sorry that happened to her, I'm sure she was a sweet kind woman that did not deserve what happened to her."
The queen stopped as she looked in his eyes, "I truly am sorry."
Taking a big risk for her, she leaned in close and placed her arms around his shoulders in a hug.

"Thank you Lehana" he said in a slight voice. Her compassion and understanding overwhelmed him. She was so caring towards him. He never knew anyone like her.

'Her kindness knew no bounds' Atticus thought as he looked her in the eyes. 'I feel like I could be himself around her, like I could tell her anyting.'

He leaned in closer, his eyes fixed lovingly on hers.

As the queen held him, she briefly wondered if they should kiss or not. His gaze so fixed on her made her take in a breath. However, what he had said about his girlfriend still was in her memory. Had Atticus gotten over his dead girlfriend? Was he ready to love again? Questions like these swirled in her mind as she held him, still looking at him.

Atticu's heart began to burst out of his chest. His mind thought of nothing more than Lehana. He only knew her for a few days but that's all it took for him to see the truth 'I love you Lehana' he thought. He drew closer, closed his eyes and kissed her.

Lehana's eyes widened in surprise and shock as his lips gentley touched her own.
'Wow.'
She thought as Lehana relaxed against Atticus.

Atticus hadn't felt this way in so long. He truthfully loved her. His hazel eyes looked into her blue eyes. "I love you" he lovingly said aloud.

Lehana froze, unsure of what to say, "Atticus I, I wasn't expecting you to say that."
Lehana kissed him back, "I care for you a lot."

"And I you" His fingers held her chin up to him "For the first time in a long time I could be myself with someone, to speak my mind. I've never met anyone like you before." he said

She slightly pulled away from him, "Are you sure about that? What I mean is, have you truly mourned the death of your girlfriend?"

"During the war I learned to cast emotion aside. At the time I honored her for her sacrifice towards the cause. It was then that our own lives didn't matter, there was something bigger than us. It wasn't until after the fight was done that I cried. But as human beings we have the incredible ability to move on and keep living, even in the worst situations. And that's what I did. It is important to honor and remember those who are gone. But mourning them for an eternity only brings suffering." Atticus replied, still softly gazing into her eyes.

OOC: Boy, you guys are having fun.;)

"I understand," Lehana said as she sighed and slowly pulled away from Atticus and her eyes traveled up to the sky. Noticing how high the sun had become, she got to her feet, "I'm going to perhaps start to head back, my advisors are most likely wondering where I am. It's almost lunch time by the way the sky looks. If you like, you can stay out here."
Lehana finished, taking a hand and touching his shoulder.

Hello, I hope I'm not interupting anything, but it occurs to me that the time is nearing when I go over to your kingdom. I was wondering if I could bring my father along, he's... not acting quite right, I thought a little fresh air would help, you know, get out and see new places, meet new people. Please advise me on your position on this.

Atticus looked up to her. Not knowing exactly what to say he put his hand on hers and said "Maybe, I'll just stay here for a bit longer." Atticus sighed.

'I blew it' he said to himself 'How could I have done it?'

Lehana briefly looked confused; she could see the look on Atticus's face as she began to leave, "Atticus, you did nothing wrong."
Lehana softly said as she looked at him.

Atticus watched Lehana walke away. He hung his head down, in defeat.

'What are you doing? You're letting her slip away! Get up! You'll never find another woman like her' he told himself. He shook his head and rose up from the bench. He was not going to beat himself up about anything.

"Lehana, wait up" he called out "Can't have a party without me" he smirked as he came up beside her.

Lehana smiled, "You're right, it wouldn't be."
The two walked in silence and as they aproached the gate Lehana sighed as she saw Saweta running towards them.
"Your majesty," she panted, "You have another message, another suitor is seeking your hand!"
Lehana was certainly in a dalemma, she already had many suitors, and yet people still were after her. The queen sighed, "Saweta, I do not know what to do."
"It's simple," Saweta said as she raised her eyes to the queen, "Reply."
Lehana snatched the message from Saweta and read it before giving it back.
"You can," Lehana replied as she went through the gate with Atticus, leaving Saweta standing there, "I honestly don't know what to do about all these people."

Atticu's eye twitched a little as Saweta approached and delivered a message. But, he held his tounge and made not action. They continued walking, Lehana left Saweta to reply to the suitor. Atticus smirked a little.

"I wish there was some advise I could give you. The pressure must seem unbearable." he said to Lehana

Atticus knew deep down inside that she really didn't want to meet most of the suitors. But, she had to. He couldn't be upset about that. But, he loved her and didn't want to lose her, this left him in a delema.

Lehana laughed at Atticus's joke, "Oh yeah, what an idea! That would look great on my country. No, I can't do it."

"I don't see how giving a polite NO, followed by a polite explination would cause any bad blood. It's not like world war III will start. But, mt statement may just be stupid." Atticus said. He didn't know how complicated life as a monarch was. To him, many things were simple. But for Lehana it seemed to him, was quite a different story.

Lehana sighed, "I know I could do that, however I'm just not sure about the whole thing."
Lehana sighed again as they reached a parlor in the palace and Lehana sat down, "It was Margo's idea to start this whole thing."

"I know what you could say, it would go like this 'I'm sorry, but I don't think we belong for eachother, we can still be friends' That would work" said Atticus, he began to laugh a bit. Deep down inside he knew she was in a delema. She had feeling for him but felt bound by her duties to cast them aside.

'She's thinking like a queen, not a woman' he thought.

Atticus laughed "Yeah, I could talk to Saweta. I have some proposed bills that I have to look over at some point before they're introduced into the General Assembly, nothing ground breaking." replied Atticus.

Lehana sat back down, "What do your bills consist of? If you don't mind me asking."

"Oh nothing important. One's about farm subsidies. This bill would cut the subsidies down a few percent. It's rather boring. The other is one a proposed reconstruction of the People's National Tribunal building in the capital. Nothing too big, business as usual." Atticus responded.

OOC: Yeah, damn Canadians.

"Don't you think that cutting the subsidies wouldn't be a very good idea?"
Lehana asked as she leaned her head back, "However, I have no room to talk since I cut tax money from programs such as wellfare, to many people take advantage of that system I believe."

"We have a system to make sure that the free healthcare isn't abused. It works pretty well. In the south, we have rich farmlands which really don't need much in subsidies. besides, it would make it easier for poorer countries to sell their crops." replied Atticus

Lehana smiled, "That's good, get rid of them and save your taxpayers some money. I think I will go take a nap now."
Lehana said as she stood up once again, "I enjoyed spending the day with you, I won't sleep to long."

"Thats fine, sleep well" replied Atticus as he look up at her.

"I'll see you soon," Lehana said as she quickly kissed his cheek and walked out of the smaller parlor. The queen hurried to her own wing that was in the palace, shutting and locking her bedroom door. The queen didn't want to be bothered, especially by any of her ten advisors as she slept. Lehana changed, throwing her royal clothes on the floor like any woman that wants to be done with them and crawled in to bed, not caring if it was the afternoon.

OOC: Sorry about that. I'm making a character and have been reading this rp for awhile.

Clarence Potter was looking threw some paper from his desk. Then he took off his glasses and took a rest. Clarence was the youngest Intelligence Officer of the Intelligence Deparment. During a war against rebels Potter made friends with the future President, Willy Knight. He worked very closely with Willy. During the past years he has met many women, but has never found a woman that he likes. Looking toward his typewriter Clarence started to type.

Dear Queen Lehana,

I have read your message to all the nations of the world. I am twenty five with blond hair. I weigh about 155 lbs and 5'11". During my free time I usually spend my time outside and in nature. I own 60 acres of land around a house in the mountains. It is very beautiful there, so I paint the area around my house. I'm in the Intelligence Deparment in the government. My job demands me to be mental and physical fit. Before getting my job I studied at the top school in my country. I hope to meet you anytime you wish.

As he finished he took it out of the typerwriter and signed his name. The message was then sent to Queen Lehana.

Atticus smiled, he touched his cheek. He got up and went to the beach, not feeling like doing any governmental work yet. It would help to clear his mind. Not like it would do any good, all he could think about was Lehana.

A woman that Atticus hadn't met yet was walking along that same beach. She was advisor Olina Marcus, blond hair and blue eyed wearing a sun dress on the hot summer day. Olina spotted the man from a few feet away, and sped up to meet him.
"Hello," she called as she jogged towards him.

Atticus almost didn't hear her, he turned around stunned.

"Hello" he plainly said. The instant he finished, Lehana was back in his mind.

Olina smiled as she came up to him, "Hi, my name's Olina; are you liking it here?"

Atticus turned to her "Yes, I am having a very good time. This is a beautiful country" he responded.

Olina walked up beside him, "Do you mind if I walk with you? I always exercise when the queen allows me; we usually have our meetings at this time. You must be Atticus, one of our queen's suitors."

Atticus grinded his teeth. He didn't enjoy being called a suitor. But, he answered none the less. "Yes I am. I don't intend to stay on the beach much longer, but I guess it's alright. Uh, did she say anything about me to the rest of you?"

Atticus continued to think about Lehana. He hoped that the advisor would say something motivating. Like what Lehana thought about him.

Olina thought a moment, "Well, we haven't had our meetings since you came, so I haven't talked to her. Saweta said that Lehana said that she was smitten with you very much."

Atticus smiled "That's nice to know, thanks alot. I gotta get going, nice talking" said Atticus, he began to walk away. Delighted to hear the great news that lehana was smitten with him.

He walked off the beach and back through the corridors. He got lost again, and refused to ask for directions again. He eventually found his room and slumped onto the bed. Atticus reached over to a briefcase that contained his work. He opened to the bill on subsidies. He tried to go over it but couldn't, he just threw it back into the briefcase. Instead, he reached into a luggage bag and searched through one of its' pockets. Atticus pulled out a ring. It was simple, with one jewel on it. He intended to give it to his girlfriend until she died. He sat on the bed, twiddling it between his fingers, thinking.

'What if?' he thought. Atticus thought for awhile. He looked at it. It's been with him for many years. ''What if?" he said aloud.

Queen Lehana,

I, King Horus Hornando of Vietnamexico, wish to meet you. I am twenty three years of age, am of great health, a hieght of 6'0" and a weight of 160 lbs. I have ruled Vietnamexico for eight years, and love this beautiful land which I call my home, however I would love to see a new land such as your Tarayshia. I hope you respond to this letter promptly.

"It was nice meeting you then," Olina said as Atticus walked away. The advisor turned and started her jog again, she liking Atticus as a suitor however she thought as she sped up, he just seemed to be wanting to get away from her Olina.

Lehana stered under the bed sheets as she opened her eyes. Sitting up, she yawned before stretching and getting out of bed. Lehana kicked her disguarded clothes across the floor before stumbling in to the shower and after getting out and drying, got dressed in a blue blouse with a matching pair of shorts. The queen slipped on her sandles, brushed her ebony hair and walked out of her room. The queen going through out the palace, no location in mind. The time with Atticus was very nice, however she loved the free time it also gave her in order for her to think.
'I do care for him.'
'However there are so many men that I have to meet with.'
'Give all a chance; just like Atticus.'
These thoughts swirled in the queen's mind as she walked around.

OOC: I can walk you through it, it is relatively easy. Find a picture on google image seach, or an engine like that, click on display full sized image, copy the URL, and when you get in the window to post click on the thing that looks like a photo of a mountain on the top tool bar and paste it in the window that posps up. If you can't figure that out or can't find a good photo, then you can just write a description.

Atticus stood up and splashed some water on his face. On the counter sat the ring, gazing up at him. He thought about it. He picked it up and examined it. 'What if' he thought 'No, she wouldn't. It would turn her away. Lehana in her mind has to meet the suitors. It would ruin it' he thought. Atticus walked over to his bag and put it away.

Lehana was leaning against a wall, comtimplating on where to go when a voice called her out of her thoughts, "Your majesty, queen Lehana?"
Before she knew it Saweta, Margo, Olina and a few other advisors began to gather around her.
"Your majesty," Margo spoke, "I feel that we need to all gather and discuss your current situation."
Lehana had been fearing this meeting of her advisors since Atticus's arrival two days before, "Yes, I suppose we must."
Clearing her throat she straightened up and counted the asembled women before her, "There are only 6 of you, go gather the other four and I'll meet you all in my throne room."
"Yes your majesty," Saweta said as she and the others began to leave, "Wait, what if Atticus comes looking for me?"
Margo turned back, "Your majesty, you have afairs and duties that you must do as queen. He'll find something to do I'm sure."
With that Margo and the others left, leaving Lehana standing in the room that she had been in when her advisors had found her.
Sighing, Lehana began her walk towards the throne room, knowing that her advisors would be there soon, all ten of them.

Atticus finally picked up the bills. He studied them but didn't get very far. They were so boring and dumb. He didn't care about subsidies or remodeling the National People's Tribunal building. They didn't need his approval. He hardly had any power in the General Assembly. But, he tried to forge on, Lehana never far from his mind.

It felt like forever to Lehana, however all ten highly important women were in her throne room.
"I call this meeting to order," Lehana said as a hush fell over the women.
"Now then, who would like to begin?"
"I would," Olina said as she stood, aproached Lehana, bowed and after straightening spoke, "I ran in to your suitor Atticus. I found him to be a nice gentleman however I got the feeling that he couldn't wait to get away from me on the beach. If he is to accept you, he must accept your goverment."
A few women clapt at this as Lehana held up a hand, "What is your opinion?"
Olina took a breath, "A nice man, he would treat you well, however based on how he treated me he is iffy on our country and how we run things."
Olina sat down as Saweta walked up, repeated Olina's actions and said quite bluntly, "Your majesty, with all do respect I feel you can do better than Atticus."
Lehana kept her slight temper with Saweta under control as she asked, "Why do you say that?"
"Well," Saweta crossed her arms, "Look at his manors this morning when he ate breakfast; not classy at all. You must have a husband that will be a good man, represent you and our country well, be a good lover.."
"I beg your pardon Saweta?!"
Lehana raised her voice as some women gasped while others snickered, "Explain that," Lehana demanded and the women fell silent.
"You need an heir," Saweta began, "If the, process isn't to your satisfaction then you won't want to bed him as frequent thus you don't have many chances to..."
"Sit down now," Lehana said in a harsh tone, "Or I will dismiss you."
Lehana was embarrassed at Saweta's forwardness;
'What if Atticus heard this?'
She thought as she cleared her throat and said, "Anyone else care to speak?"
One by one, the advisors spoke about Atticus, the thoughts of him were nice however the women were unsure if he was the one.
"Fine," Lehana began after all had spoken, "I will give all suitors an equal chance. I am not making Atticus leave the picture however I will meet the others. We're finished here."
Lehana completed her saying and left the room, heading for her quarters.

Atticus put the papers down, he couldn't read any more of it. He felt tired and rubbed his eye. As he put the papers away he saw the bag. He took out the ring and held it. 'Don't do anything foolish' he told himself 'But, you love her, don't you? Wait, she wants to give the others a fair chance. She'll certainly say no' he said to himself, his heart told him one thing, then his brain said different. It was rational not to make a drastic move, but he loved her. A delema rose over him. 'What to do?' he continued thinking. He stood up and put the ring in his pocket. He walked out of his room and into the corridor. The instant he turned a corner, he was lost, again.

Atticus wandered through the corridors and found a large door. He gained his bearings. He was about to open the door when he heard women muttering and arguing. Atticus hid behind a pillar to listen in. What he heard dusgusted him. It enraged him. How those advisors traeted him like he wasn't human. Like he was a second class citizen. This was the exact kind of stuff he was against. The upper class acting like overlords, condemning people to live meaningless, harsh lives. He heard them beginning to shuffle. Atticus hugged the wall and saw Lehana and her advisors walk out. he didn't know what to do so he waited till they left. His fist hit the wall and he stormed off. He found himself at the balcony.

After brushing her hair in her room, Lehana walked out of her bedroom and began searching for Atticus. Walking around, she found him on the balcony that they had stood on earlyer, "Atticus, I was just looking for you."
Lehana called out as she stepped onto the balcony.

Atticus stood there, looking over the edge. he heard Lehana and he turned to her, with a blank face.

"Excuse me if I'm not bowing. Maybe I should, I wouldn't want to offend your advisors! I wouldn't want to offend ambassadors. God knows, I could start a war by not submitting." Atticus said, raising his voice. His hand twitched at his side.

Lehana stood there, her mouth open as she looked shocked, "Excuse me? What are you talking about; you've never afended me."

"Tell me, seeing how your advisors tell you everything. Have you become so unable to listen to what your heart says that you let your advisors tell you what your heart feels? I'm sorry if my manner is un-aristocratic. I'm sorry to have offended you one advisor. I guess it's against the law to deep in thought and! Your advisors have more say in your heart than you! Poor manners and a pre-occupied mind must make me an inadequate lover too!" Atticus said.

"I guess that if I want to win your heart, I have to win the hearts of your advisors first! maybe I should be spending more time with them. So that they could report back to you and tell you what kind of person I am" Atticus said.

"I scolded Saweta for saying that rediculouss thing," Lehana said firmly, "I have to Atticus, I have to meet with them. It's a compromise that I have to make."

"You do? Or is it your advisors? Perhaps they could meet each of the suitors then tell you about them. Perhaps they should bed them too and tell you what kind of lovers they are as well" he responded "Why can't you listen to what your heart says"

Lehana didn't like how he was yelling at her, however he had every right to in her mind.
Lehana sighed as she spoke softer, "Atticus, I never have before. All men have wanted was to be a king and get in my bed; just so they could say that they've bedded the virgin queen of Tarayshia. I always had no problem blowing them off; however I know you're different and to be honest that scares me."

Atticus unclenched his fists. He ran his hand through his hair.

"I'm sorry, I'm not mad at you. It's just all this-I don't even know how to explain it. I'm like a fish out of water. I'm sorry I yelled at you. Why do you feel you must meet with those suitors if they may be just like all the others?" he calmly asked.

Lehana sighed for what felt like the millionth time, "I guess duty and I made a comitmment; also my advisors spent all this time organizing all of this; and..."
Lehana stopped, trying to think how to say this, "Atticus, it's only been two days; such a short time."

So what if your advisors did all that, it's their job. If I'm different from the others, then why do you resist what I know your heart tells you?" asked Atticus, he walked up to her.

"I'm not afraid to say I love you"

"Atticus, I know you're different;but yet I don't know. Please try and understand, it's only been 2 days, 2 days."
She held up 2 fingers to make her point;
"Everything," she began, "Everything; the feelings of love, surroundings, everything is new; for both of us."

"It doesn't take an eternity to find love. Sometimes it takes awhile, sometimes when two people meet each other, then they fall in love and live a happy life. I don't know what else to tell you." Atticus held her hands. "I still love you. Nothing will change that"

Lehana lowered her gaze, "How, how can you be so sure;so knowing. I know what you're saying is true, my sister and her husband dated for 2 months and then they married and they have a son and are happy."

"I know, beacuse I've always been able to listen to my heart. No one ever made decisions of the heart for me. And no one has to do it for you" Atticus responded, his voice tender.

"I hear what you are saying," Lehana said, "It's not that easy Atticus, nothing is black nor white, and I hate that."
