"Scoring system is a little dumb in my mind," he commented as he glanced around at the group of natives gathered around the screen.

"Yeh, it all depends on what you are trying to do," Blane agreed with Hunter. "Though sometimes for a place to thrive off of competition is good as it inspires people to work hard and becomes the best..." he said, remembering back to high school.

That was a Colonel's job, not a Sergeant Second Class. Hunter's rank was just enough to take a unit into combat, much less anything even resembling a regiment. Screw that, Hunter thought to himself. As the screen came up, he found himself in his own, digitally animated command post, surrounded by realistic looking officers rustling about. One of the digitals came up to Hunter almost immediately, and asked, "Sir, what do we do?" It was the first time Hunter'd ever been called "sir" and he didn't really appreciate it. However, he realized what this was about and looked down onto a digital map. By the way he looked at it, he had an entire regiment under his command, but so did everybody else on this battlefield.

"Captain, have first and second brigades set up defensive perimeters to the south and southeast. Third and fourth brigades to the north and northwest. Fifth and sixth brigades to the west and southwest. I want all our artillery no farther than one hudnred meters from this CP, pounding the everliving crap out of anybody that approaches our position. I want all armor to the west, ready to deploy to reinforce any of our positions. Get our engineers over to the east - I want so much constantino' wire over there it looks like the gates of Heaven itself were ready for Armageddon. You got that?" Hunter screamed as the rumbling of battle was heard all throughout the small room he was in. I want a weapon, he thought.

Grabbing his second-in-command, Blane began issuing his orders for his force, "Redeploy those artillery units to the top of the hill... it will increase their range and give us better defensive coverage, despite being farther back than they are now. Get the armored divisions on the flanks and have them ready to move out a second's notice. Move the scout force into the woods and have them ready to do anything I need; that means hunt, spy, run, shoot, and defend. I want the infantry divisions taking cover at the front of our base - snipers and tank hunters laying in wait."

"Yes, sir!" the officer replied as he saluted and began carrying out his orders.

"If you ever salute me again in a combat zone I'll shoot you myself, son," he hollered as an explosion went off yards away. "Run up to the artillery commander and have him reposition his pieces on that ridge right there. After they're set up, I want that location rocked and rolled," he said, pointing in the direction of a nearby enemy CP. The Private nodded, as he ran off into the screen. He didn't need a moment to think about it - they were outnumbered, outgunned, and outflanked; their only advantage was that of a slight hill that they controlled (though the left regiment would be about on the same level) and a fixed defensive line.

He began issuing orders in a moment's notice, "Order everyone to fire one volley; arm all detonation devices, and then sound the retreat. We can't hold this."

The order was sent out and a siren alerted the retreat across the camp. Everyone fired off one volley as ordered and then began retreating; the snipers occasionally firing at officers they saw when as they ran.

Suddenly, a rocking was heard just a few meters away from Hunter's position, as the surround sound in the chamber indicated. "Sergeant, get ten tanks down to the south to reinforce our position down there. We're holding for now. As soon as the artillery gets set back up, I want them to locate those grid coordinates where they're firing in from, and blow the piss out of them with some counter fire." As the sergeant ran away, Hunter looked around the chamber. He noticed the position several hundred meters away, if not a few thousand, of Blane's regiment. Heh, he's getting pounded. hunter quickly motioned for another NCO to approach. "Sergeant, take two companies from Fifth Brigade and head over to that position right there. "What, Sergeant?!" Hunter yelled; it was actually as loud in this room as it would be in real life, or so it seemed.

"Sir, we just received a message from another regiment, asking for a mutual defense!"

Hunter didn't think, much less answer the NCO. "Captain! Get Second, Third, and Fourth Brigades over to that ridge up there and begin setting up a perimeter! We're going to hold this notch for as long as we can, but when they get in, we're going to be falling out and displacing like your mother's second husband, so we're going to need cover like nobody's business!" The Captain nodded, and soon afterward, hordes of troops began running deadspeed toward a ridge to the north of their position. Hunter then turned around back to the NCO, who still stood, patiently.

"Sergeant, you make a reply to that message. Tell them to head to the ridge. That's the only high ground around here. We'll cover them, but we're going to need them in place when we fall out. Get all of our artillery to start pounding on all sides. I want all our armor to go assist that other regiment. Got that? Go!" The NCO turned and began running.

He is requesting that we head to the ridge where there is high ground to aid in our defense. They will cover our retreat and are sending their armor divisions, but are going to need us in place and ready to cover their own fall out."

"Alright, reply with our understanding and change our course for the identified ridge," Blane replied. "Send the scout vehicles ahead to secure the ridge and follow that up with the armored divisions. Have positions for the artillery already identified for when they reach it and begin setting up a defensive line. Have the snipers and tankbusters break off and flank to the sides of the retreat - when they find good cover positions have them dig in and begin making the enemy pay for every inch they progress. I want the enemy fearing that at any moment he could be the next one picked off or blown away. I want chaos in their lines...!"

Hunter quickly turned around, staring about a thousand meters away at the large ridge Blane was supposed to be taking. Seeing that most everything was in order, Hunter turned around to a fellow captain.

"Captain, tell Fifth Brigade to fall back to the ridge. First and Sixth Brigades are to fall back on this CP and defend it until the Fifth gets to the ridge," Hunter stated in a calm, collected manner.

Soon, Fifth Brigade was seen dashing from their current, demolished positions toward the ridge in the rear. As First and Sixth Brigades began falling back, the enemy began pouring over the left behind defensive positions in an attempt to totally overrun the troops. As well the assault on the foreign students begin to fail as most of the front line soldiers of native students were being reassigned to fight the ones who had just been there allies.

In fact the battles had already been so bloody that already two of the native students had been defeated and had left he battle simulation. "Miss me boys," came a transmission over the radios - it was the distinct voice of Alison. In the distance, the scouts noticed a rapidly advancing regiment from the south. When it was closer it was identified to be Alison's, coming to aid in the defense of Hunter and Blane's stand.

With the arrival of the new regiment the native students began to rethink their strategt because this displaced their numerical advatnage quite a bit. Yet at the front of the lines one native student rallied his reigment and inspired the other natives to begin the main attack.

The first attack began with heavy artillery and mortar fire upon the frontal postions of the foregin students. After the first barrage tanks and sniper fire began to be combined with this. This pattern for now was just to soften up the enemies front lines for the main attack which was about to begin....

((OOC: This is made under the assumption that everyone's regiment has tanks and artillery, not just the natives.))

Alison's artillery units began to target the native tanks as they fired upon Blane and Hunters own regiments, firing around three volleys of shells at them. Alison then split her tanks in half, and advanced them from different directions. Her objective was to crush the natives own MBT's between her own, catching them between the hammer and the anvil.

IC: After a long day of trying not to attract ANY attention in any of the physical classes, getting his ass beat in combat against some goliath retainer in Formations, and scoring the lowest of any foreign student in Marksmanship, Jack was finally back in an area where he actually knew something.

Standing in his CP in the Cupola of a not-yet demolished church, he had kept his regiment mostly out of the heavy fighting after an initial raid had netted him 160 Humvees from various other regiments. Now with his infantry packed tightly into the HWMMV's, he struck at the flanks of two native regiments trying to overrun his position. Noticing that Alison seemed to have the situation in hand over with Blane and Hunter, Jack concentrated all his attention on the two regiments in front of him.

Turning to his virtual aide, Jack spoke.

"Captain, I want 1st Armored and 4th and 5th Mech. Inf. to divert our friend's attention for a while. Keep em pinned down, harry them, do what you have to. I want Heavy, and I mean HEAVY artillery fire on that tank laager our friends have been so kind to set up in grid 4207 over there, to be followed with skirmish in force with the 3rd Mech. Inf. Send a message to Blane that if he needs me I've got plenty of Armor reserves on his opponent's flank."

Send a message to Blane that if he needs me I've got plenty of Armor reserves on his opponent's flank."

The transmission came in from Jack and his regiment shortly after Alison entered the battle. If you need any help, we have plenty of Armor reserves on your opponent's flank, it said.

"Sergeant, send our reply. Tell them that... hell yeah we need some help," Blane ordered. "We have been in constant battle all day and are wearing thin and becoming weary - a hard and fast flanking attack would be ideal at this moment; either that or from the back and take out the artillery..."

"Alright, Captain" Jack grinned voraciously. "Lets show these stuck up indigs what true intelligence to do. Send to Blane to ask if he has any reserves at all. ANY. I don't care what. Send to 1st and 2nd infantry to press our native friends in front of us as hard as they can. make a lot of noise. all other units, wheel and clean off the front of Blane's regiment. Link up with the left flank of Alison's Armor if you can. I want all the infantry Humvees to circle around and hit the opposing artillery, then see if you can roll up the CP's from the rear. Send to Blane, we're on our way."

"Oh, and Captain?" Jack's grin got even bigger. "I want 1st Armored to break off from their little adventure and head straight for the heart of that native horde. Get them support from 3rd infantry and 4th Mechanized Infantry. Have them clear a path as fast as they can and circle around to join with the Humvees in the rear. I want as much chaos as possible. Bring my Bradley. I'm going with them."

"Oh, and send to that girl....Alison, I think. Ask where her units are. I smell an envelopment."

The native students responded to Alison’s attacks by ordering an artillery and mortar barrage directed at her units positions only. And as well the tanks returned fire onto the front ranks of Alison’s forces and as well machine guns were fired at her forces as well.
_________________________________________________________
As for Blane the native students only kept an eye him, fearing that he might be able to totally destroy their forces if they were not very careful with the attack they were planning on his forces.
_________________________________________________________
Then for Jack he was greeted with a nice little barrage of artillery and mortar. Followed by a side dish of machine gun and tank fire.

After firing upon Jack’s ranks the native students’ infantry formed ranks in order to meet any direct attack that would try to break their lines from their side that was facing Jack.

Jack cursed inside his Bradley. "Dammit, Blane, I've been blunted. I'll try again, but if this keeps up I'll have to withdraw. You got any spare humvees? I'm more mobile than you so I'll harass the flanks and nip at em. In the mean while I'm sure we'll think of something."

With the regrouping of the foreign students, the tide of battle seemed to be changing. It appeared that the natives had underestimated the size of the 'foreign military' now that all five regiments were working together. "I say we go for a full envelopment of the regiments between us," Blane commented over the radio. "Blitz them from every side and pound them into surrender..."
The Thirteen Tribes
08-04-2006, 19:48
"Exactly my thoughts. Alison and myself are already positioned in a neat little box around them, so You, Hunter, and Rico smash them as long as they're busy swatting at us. Alison and I are both mobile, so we'll stay out of trouble. I'm re-allocating my artillery and ground infantry units to your command, I won't need them much right now -- speed's too important."

"We are dug in pretty deep up here," Blane replied to the transmission. "We won't be able to push them back unless we want to risk all of our soldiers' lives. We can, however, keep them bogged down, especially now with the addition of your artillery."

The new artillery had been placed slightly to the side of Blane's current forces in order to bombard them from the west. The defenses were tight for now, but a full out attack was nearly out of question from this side.

"If you can push them towards us with a rear attack, we can cut them down."
The Thirteen Tribes
09-04-2006, 23:14
Jack sighed in his Humvee.

"Alright, Blane, you got it. If Alison and I make a concerted spearhead, we might be able to drive a wedge into their formations. Unfortunately, they're formed up facing us, and we're heavily outnumbered. With a bit of maneuvering they won't quite know what we're up to until we hit them, but it'll be mighty tough to pull of that kind of deception unless they've got something else to worry about. We're going to need some sort of demonstration....heavy artillery bombardment, infantry skirmishing, armored maneuvering, that sort of thing, on your front. Two Armor regiments can't do much, but if they think YOU'RE coming down off that ridge, we can find a hole and blow through it into their artillery and CP staging area. Once we're there, we're golden. But once again, we need a diversion. You three up to it?"
DMG

"I read you," Blane replied to the transmission. "I will have the armored divisions begin maneuvering into a threatening position and the infantry will form up ranks and prepare for an assault. The artillery will maintain their heavy attacks, but other than that... we can't do much.... hold on - I am going to try something."

As the armored divisions of tanks began maneuvering so that they were in a striking position, and the infantry moved into assault formation, Blane concocted another odd distraction. He had five humvees brought to the front and loaded to the brim with explosives. They were then driven far back so that they were behind Blane's regiment. Once there a driver sat in each one and gunned them up to their max speed, right through Blane's regiment and over the hill. Once at the peak of the hill, they tied the gas pedal down and jumped out. The five humvees roared over the hill and flew towards the enemy encampment at incredible speeds... soon they would explode right in the midst of the enemy's formation - wreaking havoc...

from half a mile away, on the other side of the field, Jack heard the roar of the combined artillery and smiled. Trust Blane to get things done right. But then came five booming explosions that lit up the virtual horizon like miniature suns.

"Wha-?" Jack bolted upright and started sweeping the ridgeline with powerful binoculars "Blane, what's going on over there? You alriii....Oh." The realization of what must have happened settled on Jack as his vision alighted on the twisted wreckage of the forward native positions and the secondary explosions ripping through the front lines.

"Blane," Jack laughed, "You're a genius!" Jack turned to his aide sitting beside him. "Get on the horn to Alison. I want every single MBT she has rallying on our 1st Armored. Get 2nd and 3rd Armored over there too. All other units are to spread out and find ANY target of opportunity and blow it sky high. I don't care who it belongs to, if it explodes, light it up like the 4th of July. I DON'T want a general engagement ANYWHERE else but on Blanes' front at the moment."

Jack grabbed the comm and raised the virtual commander of 1st Armored. "As soon as Alison's units arrive, move straight on. Don't stop for prisoners, or even to mop up. Just punch through the lines, roll over the trenches, and keep going. Mechanized Infantry can keep pace behind you if you need support. Blane's buying us some time, now we get to take advantage of it. Now, MOVE!"

"Alright, Blane." Jack laughed. "You can relax, now. The calvalry's on the way. All you have to do now is mop up."

With that, Jack raced off towards 1st Armored, the thrill of battle coursing through his veins

"What the F-CK is going on here!?" Hunter screamed inside his simulator, not to anyone in particular. It was as if all of a sudden the entire world just woke up and decided to get in the fight.

"Blane, I don't know what the frick you got these guys doing, but you've got them playin' 'Run Boy Run' down here!" Hunter hollered in his "redneck" accent. There was a few seconds of silence as Hunter got back on his link. "We've still got several enemy entangled with our guys. We're going over them doing EPW searches and all that crap. We've taken a pretty good lickin' down here, so I'm putting my men on standby and let the rest of our friends take care of whatever's left. We're low on ammo, and got several casualties. The few that are still alive are barely capable at this point and extremely low on ammo... some have none - but we can't let them know that. We are randomly firing off some shots to keep them worried and on their toes..."

"We are transporting the wounded back from the frontlines a few hundred yards... I would recommend moving yours there so we don't have to deal with the transportation," he added.

"Relax, Hunter. We're on our way." Jack tried to soothe Hunter over the comm. "We're all pretty beat up, but Alison and I have some fresh armor units spearheading through the lines right now. I just released whats left of my ground infantry units to Blane...If you're really being pressed that badly, just let him know and he can send you some to stiffen up your front. You've just gotta hold and make as much noise as humanly possible, so Alison and I can push through and break them. I've still got some ammo dumps operating to the south. See if you and Blane can't get a convoy going down there, that should last you guys for a little while, at least."

Then Jack looked out of his Humvee and saw the plumes of dust that marked Alison's armored units coming to the field.

"Alright, boys and girls, it's time to get our rears in gear. If we can't win this fight, I don't know who could, 'cause the cavalry's here!"

With that, the combined armored column raced towards the enemy lines, guns blazing.

The native students formed a wedge as they continued there charge against Blane with the tanks leading the way and firing both their cannons and their machines guns against any enemy they came across. Then the infantry came behind mopping up any surviving enemy soldiers.

As for Hunter the artillery launched a new barrage combined with sniper fire to create a powerful screen of fire to slow the advance down of Hunter’s forces in the hopes of preventing them from joining up with Blane’s force entirely.

OOC: Thats' sorta odd....they were facing me n' alison a little while ago....oh well. I'll be ramming 108mm shells down their back armor this way.

IC: As Jack's column punched through the thin screen of enemy infantry infront of his column, quickly obliterating any semblance of resistance, he quietly wondered where all the rest of them were...

Then a terrible thought hit him, and he ordered the column forward as fast as they could, and to ignore any non-CP targets. He even ordered up the remnants of the Mounted Infantry from the flanks of the enemy position and brought them up to screen the column from infantry assault.

"They must be concentrating in front....dammit!"

As Jack and Alison's tanks hove into view of the massive assault crashing against Blane, Hunter, and Rico's lines, Jack ordered a massive volley of fire down on the rear elements of the native charge, spintering the rear ranks amid a rain of TOW missiles from the APC's, 108mm MBT shells and .50 and .762 machine gun fire.

Even with the newly arriving infantry from Jack, Blane's forces couldn't hold off forever against a full frontal assault. Their elevation gave them a slight tactical advantage, but they were outgunned and quite battle weary.

Soon they were being pushed back, inch by inch. Cover and retreat tactics were being used but eventually they would be overrun. The others needed to storm them... now.
The Thirteen Tribes
13-04-2006, 18:37
The long line of Jack and Alison's combined armor commands fired another massive volley, and the assault storming Blanes lines was temporarily thrown into confusion as the fire raked their lines. From Jack's lines a single Humvee flying Jack's command pennant raced forward, followed by the entire right wing of the line. As the armor surged up to engage the native assault waves from the rear, the assault wavered, and in places broke entirely as MBT cannon shells and heavy machine gun fire cut through their ranks like a scythe through wheat. Humvees full of infantry roared up, their passengers firing madly through the windows of the vehicle, IFVs discharged their crews and the whole line advanced slowly up the ridge towards the heaviest fighting, bogging down occaisionally as pockets of stubborn resistance cropped up.

However, for the most part, the assault's back was broken, and soon the unified foreign commands linked on the ridgeline, Blanes' bloody but valient infantry along with Jack's battle-scarred and much thinned ranks of armor facing a much chagrinned and quite decimated foe. Jacks' assault from the rear had cut down many of the opposing regiment's CPs, and the native regiments milled about awaiting orders from non-existant commanders.

Just as the troops began pulling back to Blane's position, Hunter heard the more-than-recognizable sound. It sounded as if the Death Angel himself was decending from the sky to rain down fireballs of destruction to his men. Hunter watched helplessly as hundreds of troops were thrown through the air in a horrific scene by incoming artillery. Almost instantaneously, Hunter's troops began to route. Hunter grabbed a nearby captain who hadn't begun running yet.

"Cap, I need one platoon that's good on men and ammo. NOW!" The captain looked around sheepishly, before getting on his radio, spurting several indiscernable words and phrases. Several seconds later, about thirty troops were gathered around Hunter. "You wanna run, you do it now. We've got several pieces of artillery to take out before they kill the rest of us." As Hunter spoke, four of the digital troops began to run; the others stayed. "Let's go."

As the troops began to run toward the enemy howitzers, which were an estimated five hundred meters away, Hunter's booth glowed red, and the message "YOU ARE DEAD" appeared. Apparently, he'd taken a digital shot to the neck.

"What the..." Hunter mumbled under his breath, trying to figure out what just happened.

"Sir I would like to be on a larger boat with some of the students." Rico replied to the dock master. He looked directly at him

The dock master responded,” If you wish, there is a boat numbered E-32 on your right that is preparing to go out on the lake with seven students, but they still need one more so hurry before someone else gets there before you.”

Hunter had wandered off toward the school's local Archives. He'd heard rumors as he was preparing to leave for the school of a small number of Scandinvan spies or special forces, or some type of force that had played a small role in the Royal Palms Conflict nearly fifteen years ago. There probably wouldn't be much, but Hunter figured he'd give it a try at any rate. There may be no vailidity to the claims at any rate.

Hunter walked into the huge Archives building, and immediately addressed the first attendant he met, who looked very much like a civilian. "'Scuse me, ma'am, I'm looking for declassified military records. Can you help me at all?"

"Thank you, sir" Rico gave a salute then ran off. Running down the dock he found boat E-32. Getting aboard he looked saw the students. He faced one and started to talk. "So do you have any idea where we are going?"

OOC: DMG and Tocrowkia the rules for battle playing will be standard, but you need me to explain them I will.

IC: The native students responded to Rico,” Well, we are going just for a quite lap around the lake then we are coming, but still the lap should take at least twenty minutes even if we are going top speed the entire way.”

The attendant replied to Hunter,” We do not have any books or files on that were printed due to security purposes. But, on the computers over there are quite a few documents on declassified military records, yet you will have to use the password issued to you by the school.”

OOC: Sniper Country, you do not have to actually give, just put ****** if you want to put in your password in or your next response.

To Rico this seemed fine. Acutally kind of fun. Talking to the same student again. "Thank you and who might you be. I'm Rico Featherson." Rico put his hand out.

"A combination of the two."

She replied instantly.

"Fine with me..." Blane said. "Capture the Flag paintball..."

"Come on, lets go... we don't have that much time," he commented as he opened the door and held it for her.

After Alison left through the door, Blane followed quickly after her and in no time was walking next to her.

Soon they arrived at the paintball arena as they walked up to the man in charge. "Hello, sir," Blane greeted. "We are interested in playing a CTF paintball match."

The attendant replied,” Alright then, but sadly you will have to play by yourself due to most of the other students are not playing and are engaged in their own affairs.

Yet, this leaves courses from urban, forest, plain, and castle arenas all open for you to choose from. Which arena do you want?”

"We'll take the castle arena..."

"It's been fine execpt for the natives who hate the foreigners. Most of them just want to get in fights with us or want us to leave. It's hard to make friends since most of them give us the cold shoulder." Rico replied.

Erin responded,” Well, think the situation it from their perspective for a minute. Many of the native students have come to only relay on themselves and their people as their only means of support in their lives due to the constant wars our empire fights against our neighbors. Many of the native students have lost many friends and family members in these wars. All of that together causes them to view all non-Scandinvans or non-Valgardians in a negative if they had not proven themselves.”

Blane too went through the steps of checking his gun and donning the equipment necessary to play paintball (or at least necessary if you would like to remain uninjured). "Alright... me too," he said a second later.

[SIZE="1"]Heh, Hunter's going to go on to lead one of the best units in the history of the SCAF and SOF-D, but I'm all for this. I can see Hunter plotting to kill the Emperor. But maybe that's just me. Not to mention Hunter's harsh relations with Blane may cause him to show disregard for the safety/well-being of DMG itself.[SIZE="1"]

[ooc: Yeah, Blane is quite similar. However, I can't see him plotting to kill the emperor, though I could see him being the one left out and in the end turning against the graduates who try to kill the emperor.

I am not sure how the last part of that statement is relevant or makes sense.

And in turn, Hunter would gladly be the one in the group to try and, er, eliminate Blain in order to keep the conspiracy alive, therefore causing mass tensions betwixt the two, and in the future, causing both (as "great" military men) to hate each other with a burning passion from hades.

As for the rp let us move it to the OOC thread of the thread and the link in first post of this rp,
