Out front of the main building at the Imperial Military College, a small blue car drove up to the curb. The passenger door swung open and the hulking frame of a six foot, six inch young man appeared as he struggled to emerge from the undersized vehicle. When he finally managed to angle his way out of the car and onto the sidewalk, he turned and closed the door, though with much more force than he had intended as the door slammed closed. He sighed slightly before walking over to the trunk and pulling out his bags which consisted of a large hiking backpack and a pair of large, green duffle bags.

When he finally gathered himself together and proceeded onto the sidewalk, the small blue coupe drove down the drive and away drom the academy. "Well... I guess this is home," Blane said as he surveyed the campus.

The campus was full of people over six feet tall with most of them having blonde hair and light blue eyes. The campus itself was adorned with ancient statues and tall evergreen trees. The students themselves took notice of the newly arrived foreigner student and looked at him with scorn, but just turned their heads when they saw a commanding officer marched down the path to greet the new arrival. The commanding officer greeted Blane by saying,” Welcome, new arrival. I am currently the commanding office of this facility. In turn I have come to give you your room assignment which is quarters B-241.”

Blane looked around at the campus and noted the beautiful trees and marvelous statues that were everywhere. He also noted the other students' looks, though he simply brushed them off. As the officer came walking down the path towards him, Blane dropped his bags and saluted. "Yes, sir!"
The Scandinvans
22-12-2005, 00:54
The commanding office before he walked away said,” At ease soldier, also do not pay any heed here to the other students even though most of them do not like the aspect that a foreigner non-citizen got accepted to the college. As well most of the students here are members of the ruling race of Valgardian Norse.”
DMG
22-12-2005, 01:42
"I will remember that, sir," Blane replied as the officer walked away. I guess we will just have to see how we get a long...

"B-241... where could that be?" Blane asked himself as he began walking down one of the numerous pathes and looked around.
The Scandinvans
22-12-2005, 02:10
A sign came up indicating that path just to the right would bring him to the B dorm rooms. On the other thought the other students continued to look scornfully at Blane. As well the other students muttered in a strange tongue what seemed to be insults.

Well that is handy. Blane thought as he noticed the sign. He continued to ignore the other students as he followed the path and soon found himself located in front of a large building which he could only assume was the B dorm rooms.

He entered the building and climbed a set of stairs to the second floor. He began walking down the hallway looking for room 241.
The Scandinvans

On the second floor a attendent greeted him and said," I will carry your lugage from here on forth and as well bring you to your quarters."

"Thats quite alright... no need to trouble you with carrying my bags," Blane said as the attendant greeted him. "Though... helping me find my room would be quite nice."
The Scandinvans

The attendent responded," Just follow me to your rooms and also here are your keys."

The attendent then handed him a key and turned around and began walking down the hall."

Blane dropped a bag momentarily so that he could take the key. He picked up his bag and walked down the hallway after the attendant. Seems like an interesting place thus far... nothing like home though.
The Scandinvans
22-12-2005, 05:37
The attendent took Blane down a number of hallways and finally to a signal door and then the attendent opened the door with a master key revealing a fiarly room with a radio, a T.V., a bed, a table, a fridge/freezer, some chairs, a window, and a full bathroom. The attendent said," This will be your room for your first year here. Also to tell you are member of the House of the Crimson Blade."

"Thanks," Blane said as he entered his room and dropped his bags. Crimson Blade sounds cool... wonder what it is used for?

He surveyed his surroundings and the room he had been given. Quite nice... nicer than The Military Academy in the Dominion. He opened his bags and began unpacking his clothing.

A bit later....

A small black sportscar drove up to the front of the school. Late as usual, Cadet Jack Meade twisted his lithe 6'2" frame out of the drivers seat, chucked the keys to his father, who emerged from the passenger side, hugged him, shouldered his bags and walked towards the school. As he passed the long lines of trees and statues he marveled at the architecture of the college. He thought it looked more like a Cathedral to the ancient Gods of War than a school, but oh well.

His blonde hair and blue eyes fit in nicely with the other students milling around the campus, though brown leather bomber jacket over black slacks did stand out quite a bit. Smiling at the stares from the other students, Jack walked towards the front entrance, praying like hell that this new school was better than the Institute in Merki

OOC: Swords can be carried around the campus and also guns can be kept in dorm rooms unloaded.

IC: The attendant bowed, but before he left he said," Today is a free day so feel free to explore the campus and meet other students here." Then he bowed and left the room.

Merki:
The students despite Jack's smile were able to tell be his pace and dress that he was a foreigner. Yet they would treat him better then most other foreigners. To meet the new arrival an attendant was sent to meet him and walked towards and said,” Welcome, Jack to the Imperial Military College. I have been sent to escort you to your quarters here. As well I also will carry your luggage to your room for you.”

OOC: This is Merki. My nation isn't working quite as I thought, so I'm switching nations. This is my new nation, so yeah. I'm still using Jack Meade, if that's okay, but yeah. My new nation sort of has a native american theme to it. We're hoping to gather a strong military as the ethnic traditions of the people are very militaristic (think plains indians of the mid-west), and are very devoted to capitalism and socially libertarian democracy. Jack Meade's bio still applies, but his adopted name, which might come up later is

Sharaa Tumek (Smiling Runner)

Hope this works out! Thanks for letting me into the thread.

IC: Jack appraised the attendant, smiled again, and offered the man his luggage.

"Thought I was going to have to find the Commandant's office all by myself. I'm glad they sent someone. By the looks of things you could wander around this place forever and never know where you were. Thanks for the help. So, how are things done around here? I wouldn't want to stick out too badly. I mean....look at me!"

Jack gestured to all the other blonde, blue-eyed people around him.

"I'm so obviously out of place....."

Noticing the fact that he was the only one talking, Jack grimaced, shut up and followed the attendant up into the building.

The attendant bowed, but before he left he said," Today is a free day so feel free to explore the campus and meet other students here." Then he bowed and left the room.

"I will do that," Blane replied as he continued unpacking. At the bottom of his bag was blade, though he decided it would be best to leave it where it was for now.

After finishing his unpacking, Blane exited the room, locking the door after him, and continued down the hall to go explore.
The Thirteen Tribes
23-12-2005, 01:15
Walking down the hall behind the attendant, Jack marveled at the plain BIGness of the college's buildings. This wasn't anything like the Confederacy, where everything was undersized and transient, built for mobility and ease of construction in case you had to move.....FAST. Jack sighed, thinking of home.

Through the throng of Scandivan students, Jack sighted a brown haired giant of a guy walking along, recieving even worse looks from the natives than Jack did.

"Hey there! Hey! You with the brown hair! Wait up man! Hey!!"

Blane sighed as he turned and saw a boy with blond hair calling to him. Was this going to be the first face to face insult he recieved there? "What's up?" he said as the boy reached him.

23-12-2005, 01:23
About this time SGT Jack Titan was seen coming down the hall, his silver hair getting him all kinds of looks from the natives. While silver was a common hair color in Fourhearts, it was quite rare anywhere else.

Titan was dressed in black jeans, a leather jacket, with chains and a short sword on his belt. Cold steel eyes walked unflinching at the various looks he was getting.

A few of the girls giggled as he walked past, gaining Titan a very nasty look from thier male escorts. Not that Titan cared one tiny bit about who thought he was cute, who thought he needed a beating. Although, trying to pick a fight with Jack Titan was ill-advised.

He got to his room (242), swung his large blue duffelbag off of his shoulder and went inside.
The Thirteen Tribes
23-12-2005, 01:26
Jack came up to the guy he just hailed, and stuck out his hand.

"Jack Meade. Confederacy of the Thirteen Tribes. You're obviously not from around here, not with your hair and the looks you're getting. Where're you from?"
DMG
23-12-2005, 01:29
Blane just realized that this person wasn't from around here either as he introduced himself. Over Jack's shoulder, Blane saw another person who obviously was around here, judging by his silver hair, though he ignored him for the moment as he saw their rooms were across the hall from each other.

"Blane Barak," he replied as he introduced himself, "From the Dominio-... er... DMG that is. So... you aren't one of them?"
The Thirteen Tribes

OOC: Scandinvan what's with the House thing? Which house is Jack in, and where's his room? the attendant didn't tell me, and Mr. Titan seems to just have plucked his room number out of thin air. Just some info, if you please.

"Quite nice... at least according to what my last school was like," he replied, "Why don't we go have a look..." he said as he walked past Jack down the hall towards his room.
The Thirteen Tribes
23-12-2005, 01:37
"Sure. Why not."

Jack turned to follow the taciturn brown-haired guy....Blane, that was it, and almost ran into a silver-haired behemoth.

"Woah, there, buddy. Sorry about that." Smiling apologetically, Jack ran off after Blane, who had reached room 241 and was turning the key in the lock to open the door.

23-12-2005, 01:50
"Holy Shit! A TV in a Military School? Damn! I'm impressed! Now all they need is to make these dorms coed....."

Jack laughed and sat down in one of the chairs near the table.

"Sit down, Blane. Stop standing there like a statue. You're making me nervous."

Jack laughed again and leaned back in the chair.

"So, what d'you want to do once we're done here? Infantry? Spec.Ops? Armor? Pilot? Myself, I'd love to get put in an Airborne Regiment. That'd be the life. Enough about me. What did you say you wanted to do?"
DMG
23-12-2005, 01:54
He certainly never lacked something to say... Blane noted as he took a seat. "Hm, me? I don't know... probably spec ops," Blane replied though the truth of the matter was that he had already been offered a post in the Dominion Special Operations.

Titan turned to the smiling gentleman behind him. Titan did not exactly apperciate all the comments about his hair. Everywhere he went, "OH MY GOD! Look at your HAIR!" It was annoying. However, after a few initial moments, Titan stuck out his hand and introduced himself to the other guys.

"SGT Jack Titan, Kingdom of Fourhearts. Marine, 2nd Fleet 3/3 Fox Company"

"Wow. Hard Ass! Man I wish Confederacy JMC had Spec Ops worth a shit....well, we GOT it, but it's just glorified ground pounders......" Jack trailed off and he grinned nervously at Blane.

"Only as much as I need too," Blane replied, "Though don't get me wrong... I am quite opinionated."

"Wait......You're named Jack?" Cadet Meade looked quizzically at the tall Sergeant from Fourhearts.
"Well, this is a bit redundant, but I'm Jack Meade, from the Thirteen Tribes." He grinned at the newcomer and cocked his head off to the side.

"If we're going to be around each other a lot we better have ways of telling each other apart. Otherwise every mail-call we're gonna get so pissed at each other it ain't even gonna be funny."

Titan's jacket was more visible now and it appeared now as an airship flight jacket with the Seal of Fourhearts right above the heart. Various silver colored patches covered the jacket. One from the Marines, a 3rd Fleet Patch, and a patch belonging to the Airship Retribution.

Hunter walked up to the front gate of the academy. His flight was delayed due to an emergency landing at Sniper Country International Airport, and was a bit late for his entrance. He had his duffel bag, which bore the name ADIDAS on the side, in his left hand, and a backpack on his back. He stepped up to the gate, and took a moment to look around. He saw several students clad in their military uniforms, marching and walking to and from what he presumed were their classes. Of course Hunter had never expected to fit in at this place. He wore a pair of Timberland Outdoor Performance running shoes, khaki pants, a t-shirt, and a worn out baseball cap which simply had "SCAF" stitched across the front. Under his shirt he had his knife strapped to his chest, the same knife he bought when he graduated from Basic Training. He'd carried it everywhere, including to bed. He looked around for somebody to direct him where to go.

"The Fleet likes to send people to various schools abroad. Expands various horizens and such. Of course, to get promoted to Officer, you have to have a degree. So this works out just fine."

Titan looked at Blane's sword. "Although I could probably teach you a few things about that."

For the first time since arriving, Titan smiled.

OCC: The SkyCat is an actual RL airship. I just took that, made it bigger, added weapons, and left a lot to the imagination. See the Wiki for details. (Although the Command Ships look a lot like the Highwind from FF7)

"Although I'm happy to just sit here and talk with you guys, I've got to finish unpacking. Whatsay I meet both of you back here in half an hour?"

Hunter followed the other two upstairs.

"Stretching? We got a run tonight or something?" He asked.

Hunter'd been running all his life. Heck, running was Sniper Country's claimed National Sport. Bart Abraham still held the World Record for fastest 1-Mile time, and a newcomer, Jase Morgan, was on his way to breaking the 800-Meter record. Hunter's plans were to join the DB unit as soon as he got back home, and from there go for SOF-D, where each member had to run a sub-four-minute mile.

As they climbed the stairs, Hunter looked around at the lavishness of the building. Not exactly what he was used to, by any means. He noticed this "Titan" guy's jacket with various unit insignias. Titan? Some hot-shot nickname? He thought to himself as they climbed the stairs. He was from the SCAF, and just because he was in a foreign nation, didn't mean he lost his attitude.

Blane Barak: Crimson Blade
Cadet Jack Meade: Coral Helm
Jack Titan: Silver Gauntlet

The attendant then said," These uniforms will represent the houses that you belong to. You have been supplied each with twelve full uniforms. A small Harakian helicopter touched down on the school's helipad (I'm assuming it has one), and out stepped Mitchell Barnes, a bag over his shoulder containing all his personal effects and several changes of clothes. It wasn't a very big bag. He turned and thanked the pilot of the helicopter, having to shout over the whirring of the blades, then turned back and walked off the helipad, slightly crouched to make sure he avoided the rotor blades. Once he was off the helipad the helicopter lifted up again, rotating on the spot a small ways into the air and slowly flying off into the distance. Mitchell stood and watched it go for a second and then turned back and walked down the steps from the helipad.

He was greeted by an attendant who gave him his new uniform and showed him to his room, B#243, which he entered and looked around. It was small and somewhat sparse, but still he put his bag at the foot of the bed and pulled out two photographs: One of his sister, which he placed on the bedside table, and one of his entire family, prior to their descent into chaos, which he placed face-down on the bedside table. He sat on the bed and watched the face-down photograph for a short time, contemplating something, then put his hand out as if to right it.

Instead his hand simply hovered there, then he stood up and, without looking back, walked out the door, shutting it behind him, and almost ran into someone standing in the hallway as he turned around.

Hunter placed his bags on a small table near the foot of his bed. The rooms sort of reminded him of the SCAF rooming, but only the size. He'd been used to two men sleeping in a room this size, and now that he was alone in one, he decided he'd take advantage of it.

He tossed his uniforms over onto the bed, and stared at them with disdain. Uniforms? We have to wear uniforms? Next thing you know they'll have us marching places. He thought. The SCAF had one of the laxest policies in the world on military atire. For training and whatnot, the troops were allowed to wear whatever they felt. Hunter had been used to going to MOUT sites in the Backwood wearing plaid shorts, t-shirt, baseball cap, and flip-flops. Of course, that's what made the SCAF unique, at least in Hunter's mind. Most militaries placed emphasis on looking good, while the SCAF devoted everything it had to training some of the most capable, efficient killing machines in the world. And Hunter was proud to wear the cap on his head with "SCAF" stitched across it. He had just picked it up from his room on his way to the airport; he needed something to represent the SCAF with. Another thing he'd noticed when he met a few of the other students was their hair. Nice and neat, he thought. His straight, brown hair covered his ears completely, and went to the middle of the back of his neck. They can make me wear this goofy uniform, but they ain't cutting my hair. He also hadn't shaved in nearly a week, although it was starting to bother him.

Golden Strike, Hunter thought again to himself. At least it sounds cool.

Hunter went to the bathroom, and immediately changed clothes into blue running shorts, a white t-shirt, and a pair of ADIDAS running flats. He headed out the door, and downstairs. He'd look around for the track. He refused to ask any of these people where it was. They didn't want him there, and he sure as heck didn't want to be there.

He shucked his bomber jacket and slacks and put on a comfy pair of gym shorts and a tee-shirt. Lacing up his track shoes, he walked down the hall, wondering where the gymn was. Oh well. He'd find it sooner or later. He'd run at least six miles every day since he had started high-school, and today was not going to be an exception.

He had already found the mess hall, and so made his way back to his room and walked in to find a freshly folded uniform on the bed, marking him as a member of the Indigo Shield house. He picked up the uniform and laid it out properly so he could see how it looked, then sighed and refolded it more messily than it had been before, placing it on the ground again and lying down on his bed, where he stared up at the ceiling for a moment.

Then he sat up and threw his legs over the side of the bed, turning to face the picture of his sister. He reached over and wiped a spot of mud off the frame with his thumb, to get a better look at her face. He just sat there for a moment watching the picture, and then set it down again. He wasn't sure whether to go to bed or not, then eventually decided on a shower before bed.

As the sun began to set over the horizon, Hunter found the running track. It wasn't too hard; he just looked for the huge stadium. He walked onto the massive track, seemingly Olympic-size to Hunter. Nice, he thought to himself. He walked over to the 1-Mile start point, that curved line on the home side of the track. So many schools had turned to running the 1600m, that the Mile seemed legendary these days. Hunter began to stretch his legs out, breathing in deeply and holding, stretching his lungs at the same time. He relaxed. Sure, he missed his buddies back home, but he was doing this so he could join the Special Forces, where several more of his buddies were right now. Why the SCAF was making him do something like this for eligibility, he didn't know, but he might as well not ask.

Hunter stood on the starting point and looked around. He held his stopwatch directly in front of him. Mark, set, ... Go, he whispered to himself, as he took off in what would seem like, to anybody walking by, a blinding sprint. He'd run his first two miles in nine minutes, then jog two more, then run the last two in 8:30. Speed drills- he loved them.

Heartsmen learned many different styles and could fight well with a rapier, katana, and shortsword. Titan had even picked up on the twin-style which used both a katana and a rapier. Hunter glanced over at the native students, and immediately got what the lieutenant was saying. Or at least he thought he did. He glanced back at the officer, who obviously was also a student here. He was glad no-one had asked him what branch of the military he was from. As far as he understood, it had been cleared up with the school when they applied, but since the Harakian government was very reluctant to give out any details about his unit, and in one famous incident had issued a gag order against a newspaper that had once printed pictures of them taken by an undercover reporter years back. But he had watched the others exchanging information about units, and figured eventually the ball would roll into his court. The last part was a bold-faced lie. He wasn't sure any of them were tired, but felt that trying to defuse the situation would benefit all present: Namely, the foreign students wouldn't get in trouble their first ever night from the instructors, something he was sure would not go over well, and there would be no broken bones or, as Allison had put it so succinctly, fatalities on either side.

OOC Not at all. It got a bit hectic there for a while.

IC Jack looked at Rusty. "Thanks. I'm not regular military like you guys, so I did what I could. Hope the gal ain't too pissed off, your buddy Rico either. Here. Lets get out of here while the getting's good. So. You said you wanted to serve where in your country's military? It can be a good time, but-" he stopped himself there but continued walking. "As for me, I've been working in ..." he wracked his brain for a way to put it, "... special forces for the past two years. Been on deployment a lot more than I thought I would be, as well. I didn't choose to come here, I was assigned and told I would be given regular pay for as long as I was here and would get free room and board anyway, so I had no reason to say no. I figure being a test subject for a foreign program may be a good thing, so what the hell, why not?"

He wasn't just angry that the native students blew him off and walked away, but the fact that the others in the "foreign" group didn't join him. Hunter didn't see any comaradarie, nor anyone he'd trust in a fighting position with him in battle in that group of people. He turned over, and as he slowly fell asleep, he decided he'd just muddle by- screw everyone else.

He'd woken up at four, showered, and donned his new uniform, albiet with his SCAF cap still on. His knife was still strapped to his chest under the uniform. He felt awkward in the uniform. The only uniform he'd ever known were the uniforms he wore when he went to the field, and half the time didn't even wear them out there. Rico seems infatuated with Allison, Allison's very cocky, Hunter's ... well ... He's SCAF ...

As he leaned on the wall he contemplated all this, watching the entertaining display in front of him between the instructor and the two others. Rusty's eyes narrowed as Hunter spoke up and shouted at the instructor, and both Blane and Titan tried to act tought as though they would either request permission to beat him, as Titan had done, or promise to do it on their own time, as Balne seemed to have decided. Rusty almost smiled at how eager they seemed to be to make friends with the instructor, who seemed preoccupied fighting the other two. After listening to Titan's speech, acting as if he was in a position of authority, the corners of Rusty's mouth turned up even more as he waited to see just how the instructor would react to five counts of sinubordination in one role call: His disciplinary fighting of Rico and Allison, Hunter's outburst, Jack being late, and Titan being late and subsequently outbursting to request permission to beat another of his classmates, or at least forcefully reeducate him.

It was an interesting situation, to be sure. It seemed as if Blane and he would be the only ones not in trouble following one role call, and Blane had already been forced to run ten laps of the building. Rusty began to wonder if he should just slip away and find some food.

He had a very fierce spirit, albeit also a very foolhardy one. Either foolhardy or courageous. Then he turned to Hunter. "That was good, up there. A very nice distraction, and quite well-said. Bravo," he said, just before picking up a forkful of scrambled eggs and placing them in his mouth. After chewing for quite some time, he managed to swallow them. They were like rubber. What was most sad to Titan is that if Hunter had simply listened to what the instructor had told him, there would be very little drama. The instructor wasn't being mean, just trying to instill some disipline into a soldier who clearly lacks it.

Then he checked his watch. "Yeah, I've got to go. As he had already gone and found it last night, he knew exactly where it was, and so it took him little time to get there. Walking in the door was like entering a house of doom. Hunter was sitting at the back, apparently pissed off at Blane. Titan was at the front of the class, keeping his thoughts to himself but with an angry expression on his face. I wonder how the teacher will be. I guess i will have to find out.' Rico sat and waited until the teacher came.

Hunter looked around. Blane sat down on the last row as well, just one seat between the two. Does this guy think I'm cute or something? he thought to himself before pulling a pen from his pocket.

Military History. Hunter wouldn't get the highest grade in the class, but he wouldn't do horribly either.

Alison finished her breakfast, and hurried to MH class. She wondered just what they would be studying, as there were probably thousands of wars to study, especially considering the voilent nature of the world they all lived in.

Jack, more than slightly worried about the events of the morning, had retreated from the all-too-beligerent foreigners as soon as possible, and had spent a very uneventful breakfast trying to figure out who among the natives was in his house and would be receptive. He filed into Military History class with a bunch of the natives a bit gratified that they didn't treat him as strangely as they did Hunter, Rico, and the rest and settling down in his chair, he relaxed. Hey. It was just school, and history to boot. He'd always done well in history, and he'd taken up studying tactics and military history in his spare time over his last year in high school. He noticed Alison, Hunter, and Blane sitting around the room, but decided not to talk to them.

Too much drama by half. They're all so damn confrontational, like they're trying to prove that they're so much better than everyone else. Well, we'll see. Not something I need to get into though.

He turned and introduced himself to the Scandivanian students around him while he waited for the professor to enter the room.

Rico noticed Jack come in with the natives. Jack seem to get more respect out of the natives then the others. Rico was happy that none of the foreginers were sitting next to him. He was completed surronded by natives. Rico didn't really pay attention toward their bad looks at him.

The professor entered the class from a door near the front of the room one minute before the bell rang. Then he opened a large case near the front of the room revealing a large plate mail suit. As he was finishing putting it one a stand the bell rang. Noticing that the bell had rang he said to the class,” Today we will be disusing the effectiveness of different types of armor. As all of you have noticed this piece of armor tat I have set up front please take note of the different armor types that are already displayed in the room.”

The professor then asked,” What type of armor would be most effective against a stab from a pike or a spear?”

Quickly a student raised his hand and answered,” Plate mail, by itself, would not be able to stop the stab properly, but as well chain mail you are a risk of it breaking under the initial stab. So the most effective would be a singular piece of armor while wearing chain mail.”

Jack stared around the room, taking in the different armours hanging from their display racks. He'd never been in a classroom like this before. In fact, he'd never been this close to actual relics like this before. The Confederacy might be rich, but they were a new nation who hadn't had time to acquire such things, and the history of his people didn't include such armor. Wow.

He started scribbling impressions on each different armor type in his notebook. What the armor was made of, what it would be an effective defense against, what it was weakest to, what it protected, etc.

Jack thought about the question, then raised his hand.

"Sir, Scale mail would be best suited to a downward stroke, as the overlapping scales provide protection and blunt the force of the strike, against a braced pike from beneath, however, banded mail is more appropriate, as the bands do not have horizontal gaps as scale mail does."

Titan glanced around the room. Chain mail was primative, but effective for the time period. Also in the room was a kevlar flack vest, a diagram of reactive armor, a nazi helmet from the second world war, and another diagram of naval armor. All very cool stuff.

He figured that last answer sounded correct. He didn't know much about medevil armor.

Now Hunter was bewildered. Who cares about a pike or a spear? he thought as he listened to the others. On second thought, he might not do too well in this class. He was, however, impressed at what his classmates knew. He had to hand it to them, they knew their stuff so far. Hunter could tell you which weapon a bullet was fired from almost instantaneously due to his BS in (Ballistic) Forensics, but as for this stuff, he was as lost as a deaf man at a rock concert.

That is what my student is referring to. If you look up at the wall above me you will notice an example of a full suit of this. As well underneath the first suit is a full suit of chain mail. None the less Jack you have made a good point and have earned five points towards your house.”

Blane idled for a minute finishing the last couple of pages of the seventh chapter in the first book (as he had already finished reading the sixth chapter of the second textbook). After finishing the chapter and closing the book, Blane got up from his seat and walked casually towards the second class of the day, Weapons Repair.

As he reached the door, he open it and entered, noticing that a few students were already in their seats. As normal he headed to the back and took his seat as to not block anyone's view.

Titan felt fairly confident about Weapons Repair class. He'd been doing mantinance on weapons for a few years now. The real secret behind keeping weapons in good working conditions was constant mantinance. This was drilled into thier heads time and time and time again during their basic training. If a weapon was found to be dirty, that meant the person owning the dirty weapon was flogged and the whole platoon had to dig a grave for the poor guy. Then the sloppy soldier would have to refill the whole. The point was that the weapon was your life. Keep it clean, keep it in good condition, keep it working, OR ELSE.

Hunter picked up his books and walked to his next class. "I gotta get a backpack," he mumbled to himself as he walked into the the next class. He walked to the back of the room, taking his seat in the rear far corner. He placed the books on the floor next to him, and glanced across the room.

Hunter marveled to himself, the intelligence of the others around him. He saw Blane speeding through the pages, the quickness Jack had answered the big question in class earlier. Hunter wasn't a genius. He made it through high school with a 2.87 GPA, and graduated the University of Southern Sniper Country with a 2.56. It seemed as if every other nation had sent the best they had. The SCAF just sent somebody. There wasn't really anything special about him. He was just another guy from Sniper Country. Sure, he was in the SCAF, and that set him apart back home, but here, he was probably considered to be about as sharp as a bowling ball.

A man bearing many scars of long gone wars entered the room carrying a large box of tools and guns. Then he began to set all of them up on a large table that was towards the front of the classroom.

Native students began to enter the room in large numbers and took seats as far away as possible from the already present foreign students. Though they didn’t seem to notice Alison as they were still under the impression she was a native from the southern empire.

Rusty had remained quiet during the first class, and made it through the assigned chapters during class time, but barely. Although technically very nearly a high school dropout, he was still a good reader, and could read fairly quickly. Not as quickly as Blane or most of the other students, but still good.

The first class seemed mostly useless, at least in the beginnin stages. Military history had been fun in the past, but not seriously. Sure, he could tell you just why the Greeks had won the Battle of Marathon, but tactics such as that were no longer effective. More importantly, he could tell you why NATo had defeated their opponents in the Korean Wars. Recent military history, overlapping with Tactics, and it would actually be useful. Oh well. Maybe it would improve.

The second class seemed more promising. Weapons Repair. An imprtant skill, for sure, and one that could save any field soldier's life in bad conditions. As he watched who appeared to be the professor setting up the weaponry, he wondered whether or not they were supposed to be joining in. There were a lot of weapons on the table. He noticed both an M4 and a C8, an M16 and a C7. Variety, a good thing.

Absentmindedly, the presence of all the nearby weapons made him reach down and verify that his USP was still in its holster. It was, and he breathe an inward sigh of relief, taking a seat in the second-last row of the class.

As the professor began laying out the weapons on the front table, Blane began recalling images and information on the weapons that he had read and learned about. Though he hadn't used most of the weapons, he was still fairly familiar with their design and handle.

As Rusty walked down the aisle towards his seat, Blane noticed that he was packing heat. Well... I suppose if they don't know, he can't get in trouble, Blane thought as he turned his attention back to the front of the class.

"Sir I will." Rico got up and went over toward the M-15. Seeing the M-15 parts Rico looked at it for a second. Seeing a couple M-15's before. The Canadstein army went from M-14 to M-16. During his basic training he took the M-14 as his training rifle. It looked the same as an M-14 except for the heavier barrel and stock, a hinged buttplate, a selector switch for fully-automatic fire, and an attached bipod. Then he got to work and in about 1 minute and 25 seconds he was done. "Sir I have completed the objective." Rico gave a salute to the professor. His hand still in place until the professor gave him a salute.
