Imperial Princess Seeking Potential Suitors!!! - Page 4
Marina's sister Natalya had just received news that her sister needed her downstairs. She frantically rushed to get ready and then quickly went to the room where her boyfriend was staying. "Alexander...come and hurry!"
"What, am I going?" Alexander looked up from where he was stuffing a variety of electronic recording apparati in his bag. "I...well, my dear, urgent business has called me back to the Imperium." He was about to walk by her when his love got the better of him. Looking down into her eyes he sighed and smiled. "...but I suppose I can stay here for another day or two before we go back for my coronation and prepare for our own marriage."
Either his love for Talya or his love of surprising people.

OOC: Oh that sucks...Theao, when would be a good time for you?
Marina was left puzzled. "Okay, I'll be there." she whispered back and did not know what to expect.
Suddenly she sensed that someone was coming towards her and she turned around. Lord Kevin was there. "Good morning, m'lord! I have asked for my family to meet us here so that we many announce our betrothal. And hopefully they will approve our trip to your nation so that I may meet your family as well." she smiled warmly.

Natalya let out a tiny yell. "To see YOU crowned Emperor and to be married?! What on earth happened? Your father....?"
"I hope they do as well." He replied as he looked at Marina, "Is James feeling better?"

"Hmm? Oh yes, well I don't really know. He's still very hurt and he's acting a bit odd." she frowned. Marina wasn't sure whether to tell Kevin about having said yes to meeting with James.
"Well, what's all the rush and secrecy Marina dear?" Anastasiya and Tatyana came bounding down the staircase. "Petro said you wanted all of us down here."
The Princess smirked. "Don't worry, you'll know in a few minutes. Where is papa?" she asked.
"Here I am." said Vladimir Romanov as he and his wife arrived. "I suppose we're just waiting for Natalya now?"
"Marina rolled her eyes. "Yes, as always that little girl is late. But please take a seat."

"Oh that is horrible! I thought he would recover." cried Natalya. "But please don't tell anyone yet, until Marina comes back from Theao. She was very close to your father. Let's go down now, they must all be waiting for us!"
Alexander sighed and, with bad grace, put his circlet back on. "Let's do this thing, then." He took her hand, then suddenly closed the door and kissed her very deeply and warmly, his hands running along her body for a moment. "I'll miss that when I leave." He remarked, then opened the door again. "Lead on."

James waited in the library, on a large sofa. He had to talk with Marinia before deparure.
"I hope everything turns out all right with him." Kevin commented as he watched Marina's family file in. He noticed two absences, one by hearing about Natalya being late, and the other was the fact there was no young man who could be Marina's younger brother Victor. "Is your brother going to be late as well?"

Natalya and Alexander joined the others in the Great Room and seeing that everyone was sitting down except for Marina and Kevin, they too sat. At the same time, Prince Viktor came running down.
Marina looked at her father and smiled. "I have summoned you all because I have a very important announcement to make." The young woman took Lord Kevin's hand in her own. "Seeing as how I have reached a good age for marriage, I was ordered to choose a husband." she paused. "Well, I have finally chosen. I have chosen to wed Lord Kevin Mishico of Theao. I am sure you will agree father, that he is an excellent man and will be a wonderful Emperor of Flamazon when the time comes for us to take that role."
Emperor Vladimir stood up looking very sad and happy and proud at the same time and took both his eldest daughter's hand as well as Kevin's. "You have truly grown up Marinushka and I am glad that you have chosen Lord Kevin." He turned to look at his son-in-law to be and nodded. "I know you will take good care of my daughter. James then motioned for silence and stated: Ladies and gentlemen. I have a serious matter at hand. All of you must hold political influence, and I have a request. The Kravanian menace is on its knees. As allies of the Lone Alliance, we are ready for the final push into Kravanian....All helps. Any support you would be willing to provide is appreciated. "Well, the facists are about to use chemical artillery shells on millions of thier own citizens, and full scale nuclear war has begun. As for the applause, should not the prelude to the matrimony to this happy couple be celebrated with nothing less than vigor and glee?" "Marina, he began. I am glad for you, and I wish you a long and happy wife with your husband. He nodded towards Kevin. You are a strong woman, and I know you will overcome anything that comes your way. Good luck. He smiled.
Alexander almost had a fit at James' advertisement, but simply smiled and delivered a deep bow. "My congratulations, Kevin." He said. "I am pleased to learn of your victory, and am sure that you will keep my dear friend and Imperial Cousin Marina as happy as you can." He idly tapped a hand on his cane. 'Or else.'
He paused, considering his next words carefully. "In a world where our deeply held convictions are under constant attack, it will no doubt give my court in the Divine Imperium," he winked at Natalya, "great pleasure to learn of the continued stability of the Romanov house through the triumph of one of the best men I have ever had the pleasure to meet." He took Marina's hand and squeezed it. "...Marina, my deepest congratulations and may I say how pleased I am that you have chosen the best man possible." He raised his friend's hand to his lips, then returned to his own fiance's side.
He leaned down to whisper in Natalya's ear, "...when do you think I should inform them?"

The Emperor turned a bright red but at that moment, his wife whispered something inaudible and in his ear and held him tightly by the arm.
Marina noticed that her father was beginning to lose his temper. "If you will excuse me for a moment, I must speak with James in private." said Marina quickly and ran to the crazed man.
She opened the door to the balcony and led the way out. "James are you out of your mind. I don't know what this issue with Kravanian is but don't you think it's innapropriate to just interrupt like that?! I told you I would be meeting you in the library. What more do you want from me?!"
**********************************************************
It took a while for Natalya to speak, James' actions had disconcerted her. She looked a little sad. "Tell them when the drama is over. It looks like it may get worse. James doesn't know when to give up."
While Marina and James were outside, Viktor frowned. "What do you mean by saying YOUR court Alexander? Rather, your father's court you mean surely."
"Thank you Alexander, and never fear, I will." Kevin said, accepting the congratulation with only minimal akwardness, and replying to the man's implied addition to his words.
He noticed the redness of the Emperor's face and hoped this happy occasion wouldn't be marred by politics.

He was here to protect us from the assasin that was planning to kill our family but now that that has been taken care of, I am not sure why he is still here. Although," Vladimir turned red again. "I heard a rumor from the servants that he was also courting my daughter. Is he not a commoner though?"
Alexander bowed low. "You have the honour of addressing Lord-Emperor Alexander Tyrol Black, Emperor of Roania, Agua, Calyis, Altara, etc..." He waved his hand idly. "I was just an hour ago informed of my father's tragic death while he slept."
"I'm not entirely sure, but I think he was thought. I don't think his country has titled nobility, only landed gentry." Kevin commented

Natalya looked terrified and whispered to her fiance, "Why did you have to tell them now? Never mind, don't tell my sister yet."
OOC: NEW AUSHA are you going to post?
"It appears I'm not the only one who deserves congratulations." Kevin said, "And you have my condolences on the loss of your father."
Alexander tried to keep up the expression of dutiful son, but his occasional relapse into a smile spoiled it. "Yes, the death of my father has rather spoiled this solemn and joyous occasion." 'For everyone but me', he added to himself. "I shall endeavour to hide it from Marina. Who, I believe, should be returning now. I'm not sure why she's still with that loathesome little...I mean, that fine specimen of the average yeoman."

The Princess returned to her family and smiled. "Please forgive James, he is going through rough times at the moment. Anyhow, Papa, I was hoping that you would permit me to travel to Kevin's nation to meet his family. He's already spoken to them haven't you m'lord?"

James paused, terror struck. A man with a with a tatoo of a crimson moon on his wrist. "Listen, he began in a wicked voice. You know to much. The Emperor chuckled and raised his eyebrows. "Her future home you say? Is there something you are not telling us Natalya? Alexander?" In his opinion, Alexander was being too bold and impertinent. "It seems as though you, daughter, think you can make decisions and plans without informing me. I am not sure that I wish to let you go but out of respect for Edward, you have my permission to attend the coronation."
Natalya looked at her father and smiled. "Thank you papa!"
"You're welcome my dear. Oh and if it is no inconvenience Alexander, I also wish to attend. Your father was a great friend of mine."

The Palace guards heard a gunshot and ran to see who had fired. "Hurry! It may be another attempt to murder the Imperial Family!" They made their way over just in time to see James covered in blood and two men on the ground. "What the hell?" said one of the guards as he bent down towards James. "Are you alright? Oh God, this one requires medical attention immediately! Take him to the hospital!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, they all told me not to tell you." Alexander finally said to Marina. "But I was informed just three hours ago that my father, while he was almost recovered, suffered a violent reaction to the medication and died in his sleep last night. My coronation, which has been planned since my father first fell ill a year ago, has thus been brought forward to two days from now." He looked at Talya and squeezed her hand.
Then, drawing comfort from her presence, he managed, "My f-father will...will be deeply mourned." Alexander reached up and rubbed his forehead. "Forgive me, I'm...overwhelmed with emotion. "Nana, will you come with me to Lord Kevin's estate?" she asked.
"Why darling? Are you not comfortable going alone?" replied the old woman.
"I don't know! It's just that I'm nervous about meeting my future in-laws and I need to get to know him better I guess." Marina fell onto her bed and looked at the ceiling.
"Oh dear! Don't worry everything will be fine. Lord Kevin by the looks of it, is a perfect gentleman and will take good care of you. Besides, I can tell that he loves you, and so will his family. Did I mention that he is incredibly handsome!" she chuckled.
"Oh nana!" Marina laughed. "But you're right and I shouldn't be worried. A lot has happened since my birthday party hasn't it? God, I'm just wondering whether I will be a good wife to Kevin, he deserves a good woman."

"Oh I have e-mail!" exclaimed Marina and ran to her computer. "It's from James!"
"Hmph, what does he want?"
"Looks like he has a surprise for me and he wishes to know when the wedding is." Marina wrote him back.

"No, I didn't, and even when I did, I wouldn't have expected this kind of reaction. Perhaps someone else has arrived at the same time." He commented, "Or they could be here to see you, as the goverment keeps good track of visiting nobility."

Marina blushed a deep crimson. "Perhaps..." her voice trailed off. The Princess placed her head shyly on his shoulder. "In any case Kevin, someday there will be an even larger crowd here to see us...when you return to visit you'll come as the crowned Prince of Flamazon, and future Emperor. But right now when we are greeted, just play it cool like you knew this would happen okay?"
The airplane came to a halt. Meanwhile Marina was desperately trying to fix her make up and the creases in her burgundy colored gown.
"Yes dear." He replied, with a grin as he suspected from her comments she had something to do with the crowds. Seeing her deal with make-up, he commented, "You look beautiful without that you know."

Kevin walked out with his arm interlinked with his charming fiancee's. He waved like she did, thought felt slightly self-consious about it.

"Who's picking us up to take us to your estate?" asked Marina.
It wasn't dark out yet, but enough so that the camera flashes were blinding. A couple men and women began to ask questions.
"Is it true that it's an arranged marriage?!"
"No...it's not." Marina said a little confused.
"So when is the wedding going to be? Will it be open to the public?"
"We have not set a date yet but we'll be sure to announce it once we know." she smiled.
"Are you pregnant? Is that why you're getting married?!"
The Princess's eyes went wide. "No! Of course not!" she exclaimed. "Thank you for the warm welcome but we must get going now." she said as they pushed through the crowd but continued waving at the people who were falling over trying to get at them. "Hurry, how do we get away?!" Marina whispered hurriedly in Kevin's ear.
"I'm not sure, thought I've got a bad feeling it'll be Uncle Ino."
As the press bombarded them with questions, with Marina answering them, she asked of how to get away. He smiled, "Come this way." He quickly lead her through the press, them parting grudgingly to the two. At the entrance to the airport was a black car, with a truely exquisit paint job to go with the detailing. The car's engine compartment was done in the style of a wolf's muzzle, while the cab and trunk swept back into the head. "Uncle Ino's chariot." He said as a tall man with a slightly wolfish cast of face held the door open for the two.

James swallowed hard, as he entered the State Parliment building. His first reaction was complete amazment, at the clever architecture. He saluted the sturdy guards at the doors and proceeded in. He entered the balcony (as was typical for onloookers to observe from) and looked at the senators below. He watched as the last of the 200 senators filed in. Hanging at the fromt of the room, was a large, gold trimmed New Asuhan flag. Jame's sense of patriortism swelled. He looked down as a man began to adress parliment.
After the better portion of 2 hours, he left. He was anxious to go home.
As he crossed the street (escorted by his armed entourage) he froze at a paper stand. There he saw, an enormous headline: Marrigepläne Thier sind abschließend! He smiled as he obsereved Marina's face, dodging cameras. He sighed and proceeded to his limo.
In the back, he answered his cellphone. "Ich muß, was? Erhalten Sie die Erlaubnis des Kaisers?! Fluch!" He shook his head. He had to take up this job in Flamazon. The pay was double, and the benefits greater, with little to risk risk of injury. The limo sped off toward Jame's Condo.

"It'll take about twenty minutes, and I didn't send someone to get you, I came myself." The man said with an smile.

"Sorry about that." Uri apologised, "You're a lucky little punk," He said with a smile to Kevin, "Your fiancee is lovely."
"Is dinner ready?" Kevin asked

*They're so...informal...* she thought *Uri treats Kevin like a little runt. It's kinda cute but still, his manners! Or maybe my family is too stiff? Oh well, now to meet the future in-laws!* Then they began confusing her by talking about whether she was afraid of cats and a certain Gabriella. *Oh dear God! Me? Afraid of a cat? And who in the world are they talking about? Geez, it's going to take a lot of effort to get to know this family!* Despite her confusion, the Princess smiled sweetly at Uri and played along.
"Well, shall we go to the dining hall then gentlemen?" she interrupted.
Kevin took Marina's arm and with Uri on her other side, they travelled through the wide doors into the dining room, actually into the familial dining room as contrast to the formal dining room.
Kevin and Uri's parents were playing a game of cards when they walked in.
"That's fourteen hundred and thirty seven to," Here he checks a note pad, "Fourteen hundred and thirty four."
"And we don't have time for another game." Shera commented, "As our children are here."
Richard stood, "Hello Marina, welcome to Theao, I'm Radimir, and this is my wife Shera."

"While I know how to cook, it's about dinner time anyways, so there'll be food prepared. We have cooks to cook meals, but for snacks and other things not at meal times, we had to prepare them ourselves. One of mother's rules." He commented as they walked into a large yet homey dining room.

"Hmm by this time around Alexander must already have been crowned the new Emperor, poor people. And James? Haven't heard from him or his 'surprise', I wonder what it is..." The servants left the room and she got out of the tub and wrapped a towel around herself. She walked over to where her clothing was and picked out a nice long white skirt and a blue and white striped shirt with a nice saphire necklace and earings to match.
After getting dressed and applying her makeup, the Princess walked out of her room and proceeded down the stairs to the kitchen hoping to find Kevin there. Instead, she found Lady Shera. "Oh good morning!" she said cheerfully.

"Don't you have a chef to cook for you? I mean after all, you ARE of the nobility aren't you?" Marina didn't mean to be rude but frankly she could not imagine cooking and cleaning when there was a perfectly capable staff who could do it instead. After all, they were paid to do that and she was always nice to them. She thought it extremely embarrasing that her husband to be's mother would be cooking breakfast for her.
"For dinner, yes, breakfast, rarely, lunch about half the time." Shera replied, "As to being of the nobility, only by marriage. It's taken me years to wear Radimir down and teach him to cook."
Seeing the confused look on Marina's face. "I'm not a native of Theao, where I come from titles of nobility are entirely symbolic, rather than factual, or semi-factual as it is here. I'm use to doing for myself, and part of the work for confirmation of the heir is they are suppose to spend a month surviving on their own."

Marina was still confused. *Men are supposed to learn how to cook?* she asked herself. *Why, that's just absurd! Well not chefs, that's their job but one's own husband?! Oh I can't let Kevin do all this commoner...work I'll take good care of him, he won't have to lift a finger if he doesn't want!*
"What heir? You're not an heir in Theao are you? Where is it that you're from? These customs are...very very different from those in my country. I suppose all this is just a cultural misunderstanding!" she laughed. "I hope you're not offended by my country's customs but there is no way that I will allow Kevin to cook or clean or do anything of the sort once we are in my country. You do realize that someday he will be an Emperor yes?" Then she suddenly turned serious and looked at Shera, "Lady Shera, forgive me, I love your son, and I can assure you that he will have everything he could possibly want in Flamazon and that I will take good care of him. And I hope you don't think I'm some sort of spoiled brat either."
"No, I was actually refering to the general practice involving the royal heir. As to where I'm from, it's a small little nation that borders Theao. It would seem that way as they are fairly unique."
She smiled as she cracked the eggs for the omlette. "Not at all, one of the customs both in Konsekai and Theao are complete respect for another's nation's customs, religions and politics, provided they don't try to force it on another. Thought why would you wish to prevent Kevin from doing something he likes to do, and yes I know he'll be an emperor in the future. And no, I don't think my future daughter-in-law is a spoiled brat."

"Anyway, it's just that, if the media caught a sight of that they would mock him irresistibly forever. Noblemen in my country just don't do that, nor do noblewomen."
"Well some foods." She confessed, "He makes a mean chocolate dessert, and is good with some asian foods. I'm sure he can stand a little media ribbing. I do have a question thought, and please don't take this the wrong way, but has Flamazon ever suffered a rebellion or uprising?"

What more do they want y'know? We have a great system of equality and good business and free healthcare and religious freedom...yet they're unhappy for some unknown reason and gosh, Father is trying to control the situation. Wait...why the question?"
"I'm not sure if it's applicable and I don't mean to offend, but I've found in many cases of rebellion, especially those with an entrenched nobility or pseudo-nobilitiy, if the nobles or upper-classes hold themselves above others and do not have basic menial skills, cooking, cleaning, ect, it frequently leads to a revolution, regardless of the amounts of freedoms they might have." Marina's smile faded as she put a hand on her chin and pondered what Shera had said. "Hmm it's not that we are incapable of doing it...but things and people have their places. Everyone works just as hard and everyone is essential to a great empire. Believe me, I recognize all the hard work that the people do. Without them, we're nothing and vice versa. The masses are not fit to rule a nation though, it's very hard work that requires being 'on the job' all day everyday and involves sacrifice. Sometimes I think they have it easier than we do! Why are they so eager to control a nation when they haven't the training or knowledge to do so is what I'd like to know."
"A historical leader of a neighbouring country had a way of handling unrest, and it was quite effective. He would take the leader of the uprising, and challenge him to do better. Inveriably the leader would take him up on it, and become the regional governor. Now, it is an almost accepted fact that regional governors are disliked immensely. The rebellion would fall apart, and since the leader had been able to pin-point a source of contention in the region, the problem would be solved. A win-win solution." Shera commented

But I'm torn either way. I should help supress the rebellion but not get killed at the same time. And wouldn't you agree that if a monarch was there it would have a much stronger message than to just sending a general?" she sulked and twirled her hair around her finger. "Ah well, I'll figure something out. By the way, where is everyone? I wish Kevin would come already! He said he would show me around the city and the estate." The young woman stared dreamily off into space and bit her bottom lip, a habit she had when thinking.
"It likely would. So you must come to a decision. Go yourself, and run the risk of death, or have a relative go in your place to wave the flag. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages and it is for you to decide." Shera replied, "As to my errant sleepy son," She checks her watch, "He should be arriving any minute now."

"No, of course not! I want to go out and explore this place, it'll be fun won't it? And no your mother hasn't really been talking too much about politics." she replied grinning. At that precise moment Marina's cellular phone began to ring. "Oh excuse me for a second." she apologized and went to the living room to take the call. "Hello?"

marina? How are you? In Theao still are you, lovely. I suppose i'll announce now, that the State of New Ausha has appointed me3 ambassador to Flamazon. Of course your goverment will have to recognize me, and Flamazon will be expected to dispatch an ambassador to New Ausha, but all in all, I thought you'd be excited to hear that. Ill be moving to Flamazon soon, in a few days perhaps. I have full goverment recomendations, and your foreign relatians department should be aware of my arrival. There is a problem. If Flamazon agrees, we will need to exchange embassies between nations. As this would take several months, your foreign relations ministers, suggested i take up an office in the imperial palace. Anyway, surprised? james grinned and leaned back, looking at his german shepard Achilles, who was focused on him.

Marina smiled at the fact that it was James. It appeared that he was in a better mood now and she listened. "Mhmm...yes...oh...WHAT?! You're- they're appointing you an office in the Palace?! To live there?!" she said surprised. "Well James, this certainly IS a surprise! When will you be arriving and for how long?"
Kevin decided to get a bagel and cream cheeze while Marina answered the phone.

Nothing really Marina, just some political nonsense that needs to be taken care of, James said, ashe played with the eraser on his desk. I will arrive in two weeks, and I am to meet with a delegation from Flamazon, to confirm me as ambassador. Tell me, where is your parliment building?

"Ohh great great...and the uh parliament is the huge classical looking building that's in the town center. Well, I guess I'll see you then!" Marina said.

Marina went back to the kitchen looking a little dazed and sat down at the table. "Kevin, James is coming back to Flamazon...to live at the Palace for a while." then she quickly added, "On business of course. He's been appointed to be the New Aushan ambassador. Does it bother you? Oh and you'll be staying at the palace too right?"
"No, it doesn't bother me. Afterall, if I distrusted you, that'd be a pretty poor start to a marriage. And yes, I will be staying at the palace." Kevin replied

James arrived early in the morning. He was nervous, but mostly tired. As he sat in the back of the lim,o, he shifted nervously.
Arriving at the parliment building, he proceeded inside, and upstairs. He arrived in a room, with 3 men, all siting across the table from him. They all looked most strenly. "You are the ambasador?" "Yes, James replied." "Let us begin our confirmation process.

Marina was pleasantly surprised at Kevin's trust in her. "Thank you Kevin, you are absolutely right and I'm glad that you'll be staying at the palace with us." She smiled. "Or maybe you should also spend some time here with your family after their visit to Flamazon. After all, I imagine you'll wish to be in Theao before we get married."
"That sounds like it would work out well." Kevin replied

Dinner was over and they all got up from the table. "Oh Kevin are we going out to explore now? I want to spend the whole day out getting to know Theao a little better." she flashed a big smile at him.

James walked out of the room and smiled. He placed the papers in his breifcase, which stated his validity as ambasador.
James was on the phone with a New Aushan Architect. "Im sorry sir, but the embassy compund wont be done, until about 8 to 10 months from now." Damn James exclaimed as he ended the call. He looked out the window, as he approached the Royal Palace of Flamazon.
After being checked by royal security, he was led into a large office, with large windows. He smiled as he observed the paintings. As the Flamazon guards left, James observed his 3 secretaries, and co-ambassador. Well lets get to work. Tear down all Flamazon flags, and replace them. Yes, all the paintings should go to. Set up the computers as well. He eyed his staff, rigorously working, and as he assisted his secretary in setting up his computer.

"If you wish my dear." Kevin replied, "Mom, if you'll excuse us"
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
Radimir arrived, "Shera, that isn't that much of a warning. Have fun you two."
Kevin looked at his parents with a smile, "So where would you like to go first?" He asked Marina.
ooc: Big apologies, *looks charinged*

OOC: It's alright!
IC: "Well, I don't really don't know since I've never been to Theao or know anything about it. How about some place that's historical?" Marina said.
"Well, the nearest historical sites are The Forest of the Lost, Black Rock Spire and the castle of the Duke of the Night." Kevin replied, "All within riding distance."

Marina's eyebrows raised a little. "Sounds interesting, which should we go to first? The forest would be nice..."
"Then I would be honoured to take you there Marina." Kevin replied, "Would you like to here the story of how it got it's name?"
